This hotel is nice, clean and quiet. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Location is excellent right off of route 140. I would definitely recommend. Complimentary breakfast is very nice I heard from other guests (I did not eat there-due to time constraints).

Stayed here because a friend was getting married and the festivities lasted all weekend. The conference hall was very nice, we had a party there the night before the wedding. Staff were nice and professional, no real issues other than our first set of room keys not working but they fixed that right away. Room was clean, plenty of towels, was nice to have a mini frig and coffee pot right in the room. Would recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Westminster. The lobby was bright and nice, the grounds and inside was very neat and tidy, the rooms were very nice and newly done. The breakfast was delicious and had various items to choose from to eat. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area.

Great value. The room was quiet and clean and the beds were comfortable. It is a good location as several restaurants and other stores are nearby. I would stay at this hotel again. Really enjoyed out stay.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times. It has a beautiful lobby and a homey environment with a shelf full of board games to play. The room was pretty clean but it smelled musty and odiferous. The towels and toiletries were amply stocked. Beds were comfy and shower is good size. Would stay here again.

Hotel is very clean and well maintained. Room was very clean and comfortable and smelled great, Very pet friendly accommodations. Dogs even had a treat upon checking in. Large area for walking dogs. Breakfast was delicious and coffee was perfect.

Make sure you call ahead for reservations, this chain is doing the right things. Always busy and WHY? Because they are doing the right things and that is makes them the BEST. Just imagine- a part of the West in the East and it is the BEST.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel with a fine staff, and in a good location for transportation, quiet, safety, good fresh breakfast... both hot and cool choices, I recommend this hotel.

We stayed here to visit Gettysburg, should have stayed another night. The room was spacious and clean, bed comfortable, quiet hotel. The morning made to order omelettes were a wonderful surprise.Again we wished to have stayed an extra night, in order to take in a private guided tour of Gettysburg.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel along with our dog to attend a wedding nearby. It was the only option the couple chose that was dog friendly. The hotel is very basic. A bit outdated, but clean and presentable enough. The biggest disappointment was that the wifi did not work at all during our stay. I asked front desk and their suggested to troubleshoot did not work. They did not seem very concerned. The walls were also pretty paper thin as our dog is not usually bothered by outside noises but was here. Breakfast was fine thought the breakfast attendant seemed very overwhelmed. All in all fine for quick stay.

Excellent location for attending events at McDaniel College. Plenty of nearby restaurants. Staff very helpful and efficient check-in and check- out. Rooms well maintained with comfortable furnishings.

Came for our grandson's wedding. This location was perfect. The hotel was only eight minutes away from where the wedding was taking place. The hotel was very clean, the food was very good, there was a lot of it, there was coffee all day. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were able to visit with family members we hadn't seen in a number of years, since we were all staying at the Best Western.

I have been staying in hotels for work on a regular basis since 1985. This is obviously an older hotel but it is up to date, clean, and well maintained. Great hot breakfast, really nice staff, and I will definitely stay here on my next trip through.

Nice place to bring your pet. A lot of grass for them. Breakfast was nice to have included omelets were good. Don't forget to tip your cook a couple bucks. I would not hesitate to go back again and bring my pets.

Check in was easy but NO discounted price on the room. The clerk would not budge. The room was nice with a fridge and microwave. The breakfast featured a chef that would fix you an omelet the way you like it!!

I'm writing this review while I'm staying at the hotel as I didn't want to wait till I got home. Super clean hotel with excellent service. The room was fantastic with a walk in shower with a great smelling shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shower cap, soaps and a little pouch with a file, cotton swabs, makeup remover pads. Breakfast today (saturday) was scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy and hash browns as well as waffles with strawberry and cherry topping, yogurts, fresh fruit, toasts, bagels, cereals, muffins and juice and coffee. Great way to start the day. Would stay here a again and highly recommend it. The pool looked nice too and the hotel was fairly quiet. They had games and puzzles in the lobby too which was quite nice. Lots of extra details in this hotel.

I had two rooms, one for myself and one for my son and daughter-in-law. We were visiting relatives in the area. Both rooms were great and the staff was very great, friendly and accommodating. Located conveniently to stores and restaurants. Plus the area of Westminster is very pretty. The breakfast was acceptable for a free breakfast. I will definitely stay again at this hotel.

This super clean, comfortable, and SMOKE-FREE hotel was such a pleasure! The staff is friendly and welcoming. Our king-sized bed and pull-out sofa were super comfortable! The hot breakfast was a great surprise!

"Where ya gonna stay?"

Spent 4 nights here for a conference and was pleasantly surprised! The management and staff aim to please and they do. They are extremely attentive to your needs whether it be meals, pillows, etc. The rooms were recently updated and they are very comfortable. Breakfast is included and they have an omelette bar, fresh fruit, and decent baggies. Parking is ample.

I stayed at the Best Western for a business meeting last year in August. Enjoyed the hotel was one floor and pet friendly. Easy access to walk the dog. Good offering for the breakfast buffet, the staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and bright. Great location from the downtown restaurants. Would recommend this hotel.

"Nice stay"

We stayed at the BW for 4 days and had a great stay. Clean room, comfy beds, and nice staff. They do a very nice breakfast with made to order omelets or scrambled eggs on some days. They also offer free coffee all day long. They only have an outdoor pool which was a little chilly and no hot tub but the hotel stay was very nice.

"Fit the bill nicely!"

Man, we just needed to get a sanity break. The destination was Cascade Lake (don't bother!) and this BW was a good location. I found the town of Westminster delightful! All employees that I came in contact with were pleasant, especially the staff in the breakfast area. Basic breakfast offerings but made to order omelets were a plus.The hotel was clean and the lobby was quiet! I love that televisions and music were not blaring. Our room was clean and comfortable. This establishment did fall to my number one pet-peeve though. I was not thanked when I checked out. I say this every time. It is a small thing, but I have a choice. A simple "thank you for choosing to stay with us" goes a long way.

Greeted by a friendly staff, had a special room request which was exactly what we wanted. Clean, neat comfortable room. Uncluded a breakfast buffet with an egg station. Nice selection for breakfast. East checkout. Wi-fi worked perfectly. We stay at this BW every time we visit our family in the area.

Thank God for the Wedding because the stay at this hotel was really not enjoyable. While the room we finally got was fair and had most of what we expected - we were not happy with the customer service at all. We attempted to check in 30 minutes early and were told no. Mind you not a car in the lot except ours and two others also attending the same wedding. We returned about 20 minutes later - still no. So we sat annoyed and at 30 minutes went to check in and shocker - got into our rooms with not a service in site meaning the rooms had been ready all along. Absolutely I'm cooperative staff. We returned late after an awesome wedding the Seasons at Magnolia and when we came in the lobby found no one around (we needed an extra pillow for our sound asleep son). When someone did finally come out to the desk she hollered back to whoever else was there to grab an extra pillow and woke out obviously sleeping son in my husbands arms!!! I said seriously??? And her reply? “I'm sorry but you asked for a pillow and I don't keep them up here.” Highly DO NOT recommend.

I can understand your frustration in regards to trying to check in early on Saturday in order to be ready for the wedding. We do sellout on Fridays and Saturdays during this busy wedding season so it is very difficult to allow for early check in as prior guests are slow to checkout and our Housekeepers need time to clean the rooms and get them ready for the next guests. I am truly sorry our guest service agent yelled to get Barry's attention in order to retrieve an extra pillow for you. I am sure with it being that late at night, waking up your son was very frustrating; please know that Shari would never do this intentionally. I am sure she wasn't aware of her voice being elevated. "Best Western is doing well."

I don't normally think of Best Western as being that good of a hotel. However I think they've really stepped up in their quality and this hotel is a good example. Definitely would recommend this hotel if you're staying in Westminster area.

"Same As it Ever Was - But Better"

The hotel operates in the same efficient, friendly and supportive manner that it had previously. The interior has undergone a slow and steady renovation that now includes all guest rooms. The updates are noticeable and welcomed and were down with little to no disturb to frequent guests. The same remains to be the sceret sauce - they simply care!!!!!!

"Ants in the towels"

My niece came up from the Eastern Shore for a funeral and after taking a shower she had ants in her hair and on the floor. When talking with the manager she stated it is cold outside and that happens. What... ants in the room and "it happens". Requested a reduction rate but that didn't happen. Terrible place to stay - would not stay again. General Manager was rude and hung up on me. :(

This review is very upsetting not only to myself, but to my entire team. I truly understood and still do understand Chelsea's frustration in regards to having ants in the room. I know it's never easy to travel with two children, let alone under unfortunate circumstances like your grandmother's funeral. In regards to our conversation Sue, I tried numerous times to help you calm down so that I could understand you and listen to you in order to help fix the situation. It's very hard to listen and respond to someone screaming and cursing at you. I tried to handle this situation calmly and respectfully; I offered three warnings that I would need to end the call until the conversation could be had without inappropriate language. I have been the General Manager here for 10 years as well as employed here for 16 years and I can honestly say that I would never intentionally hang up on anyone nor will I ever; I value all of my guests. I tried to explain to you that our Maryland weather is not cooperating with the insect population right now and I do have our pest control doing preventative maintenance weekly. It's a difficult task as ants are very fickle; they love crumbs and sugar and they flee indoors from rain and cold weather. I do apologize that you didn't hear my full explanation in regards to the ants found in Chelsea's room. We are continuing our preventative pest control measures. I gave you 50% off of Chelsea's stay which was explained to you via text message. It will take three to four business days to see the original hold released and the new amount withdrawn on your account. When you use a bank card for payment the process is very different from when you pay with a major credit card. I would have loved to speak to you via phone but after your daughter called to scream and curse at me in addition to our own conversation, I thought it was best for us to have written conversations from here on out. I do hope you understand my intent to maintain a level of professional courtesy. In closing, I know this is a very difficult time for you and your family and I certainly understand that Chelsea having ants in her room did not help these circumstances. I know that during times of stress things may come across differently and anger is misplaced. My deepest condolences go to you Sue and to your entire family. "Visit to Maryland"

In town for a friend's wedding. Inn of choice for the wedding party. Rooms were in the process of renovating, but one would not know renovation was in progress. We stayed in a room awaiting renovation. Room and amenities were still very good. Staff was very accommodating. Hot breakfast catered from a local firm. Location is central to many historical sites.

"Great place to stay while in the area"

I was in town for a trail race and needed just a place to stay for an evening. The location was easy to find and centrally located to stores and food. Check in was easy and staff was helpful. Our room was mostly clean, but nothing that caused concern to bring to attention of management. Our room was near ice stairwell so there was a lot of noise that came under the door as people made their way in during evening. There is a large gap under the door so I put a towel down to try and drown out any additional noise. We had to leave early before breakfast so we weren't able to enjoy that. I would recommend the Best Western if you need a place to stay in the area.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and were pleasantly surprised to be given a newly renovated room for this visit. New carpet and decor gave the room an updated look. The front desk staff are always pleasant and accomodating.

"Average hotel. Above average staff."

Stayed for two nights while attending a family wedding. Comfy bed. Clean room. Fridge and microwave a plus. Single paper cup style coffee maker not a plus. Bad coffee and a hassle brewing multiple cups. Had some trouble with the TV that took three room visits to fix. Hot water for showering was hit or miss. Never cold but sometimes not hot enough. But a friendlier more welcoming staff you will be hard to find elsewhere. Cheerful and professional. Sometimes budget type hotels are just cheap in all respects with grumpy employees. In this case the people made the difference. Not a place I'd pick for myself, but for a quick one night-er you could do worse.

It's important if you are an avid coffee drinker to be able to keep refilling. I can truly understand and for me it's the best part of waking up besides my doggies. My staff is top notch! They truly care and want every guest that walk through our doors to feel welcome and right at home. I hope you will consider us more than a one nighter. Have never had a problem with the hotel or staff in previous years. This year(2018) went through booking with Expedia, BAD! DO NOT USE THEM ! Can't understand operator, did not give cheapest rate and NO REFUND if cancelled anytime! Deal directly with the hotel !!!

Ugh. Couldn't shower because there was no hot water. Hotel staff said (too many people were showering at the same time). And they did not discount our room. Other guests had the same problem. Wouldn't stay here again.

My apologies! It's certainly never okay to shower without hot water. I can tell you that we did have a problem with one of our hot water heaters and the regulator. We called our plumber and it was fixed that morning. However, it looks like you had to experience the problem before it was fixed. "Great location close to Baltimore"

Stayed at this hotel twice now, once when traveling home on vacation, another for business in the Baltimore area. This is one of the nicer Best Western's we've stayed at and the second time it was close enough to N. Baltimore that it was a convenient place to stay (just about 35 minutes from the city.)

"Exceeded expectations"

The room was clean and well-appointed. Wifi worked well. Staff was attentive and courteous. I was surprised to have a staffed omelet station after 9:00 am on a Tuesday morning, and the breakfast buffet was well above average for this kind of place. Overall, while higher priced than other nearby options, it felt like the money was well-spent.

Like new room, (rugs, furniture, curtains, et alia) Very nice breakfast. Omelets to order. Close to room parking. Easy yet secure access. Lobby warm and cozy. Desk personnel friendly and helpful. Good value overall.

Arguably the best motel in Westminster, though there are few options. Rooms adequate size and quiet, with reasonably comfortable beds. Bathrooms good, with standup shower rather than tub/shower. Good internet. Large, open lobby with central, cozy fireplace. Excellent breakfast with omelets made to order on weekdays and holidays. Plenty of parking. But, an older motel, although remodeling coming.

Room was a little dated, but they were renovating at the time I stayed. Location great, staff very good, and value not bad. Clean and I would 100% stay again. Shopping, restaurants, and anything I needed to do withing minutes drive.

"Friendly & Courteous Staff"

The hotel was clean, friendly & courteous staff! Pet friendly hotel, perfect location if you have pets. The only problem we had and it was nipped in the bud right then and there was the people above us were loud walking across the floor, it sounded like a party going on, like a herd of jackasses kicking around, maybe they were bowling up there too! Elephants walk quiet than these folks and at 1:30am in the morning? So I went and scoped out the room , then headed to the front desk and explained and Larry nipped it right away! Can't blame the hotel for what other peoples ignorance, at least they took care of the situation.

"Nice Hotel in Westminister"

Stayed at the Best Western the first weekend of November while visiting family in the area. Arrived late in the day, due to flying into IAD airport, but when we checked in, we were warmly greeted by the friendly front desk person. The room was fine; clean and comfortable. I liked the large shower in the space where the bathtub used to be. Great water pressure and lots of hot water. Mini refrigerator in room was nice. I was very impressed by the daily breakfast that is included in the room price. Fruit, waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, cereal, etc. Hot coffee/tea/hot chocolate and juice included. This could easily be $10 per person at one of the nearby restaurants. I also liked the hospitable staff that said hello, have a nice day, etc., when walking by in the halls.

The staff is great and the hotel is well kept for the most part. We would definitely stay there again. The rooms could be a little larger, but they are certainly "doable". Any problems are taken care of right away.

Town doesn't have too many choices for overnight stays. Good location, close to restaurants. Hotel is under renovation. Mattress was very firm, clean room. Bathroom could be improve for handicap individuals. Hope my next visit will be more comfortable.

"Uncomfortable Beds"

The bed and pillows were VERY hard and EXTREMELY uncomfortable, my husband and I barely slept for the 3 nights we stayed. We asked for different/extra pillows but they were all the same. The room was very dated but otherwise the hotel was fine.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 different times and always found it to be one of the best in my travels. The personnel, cleanliness, rooms, comfort, breakfast have always been first class. Everyone here has always been very helpful. Even when I arrive early, they go out of their way to see that I have a room in a very fast amount of time. Great location and like I stated it is the best.

The staff was very courteous and polite. Slightly noisy but we had a room near the ice maker and a side door, which did make checking in and out much more efficient. Turning the HVAC on helped offset some noise. They are in the midst of updating the decor so the dumpsters can be an eyesore. Some of them are taking up parking spaces. Still, parking was easy and close. Breakfast was very good - probably the best part of our stay. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.

We were in town for a basketball tournament at McDaniel College. Best Western is one block away. Facilities are clean, comfortable, and the staff is very helpful. We would stay there again, if in the area, and would recommend to others.

This is a clean, well run hotel, minutes from the McDaniel College campus. Great value for your money. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. They even had a welcome bag for my dog and a great spot for him to run. Breakfast is simple but good.

Welcoming and accommodating staff. Good value. Our room was renovated and pretty basic but well-equipped with microwave, sink, tea and coffee and refrigerator. An older motel and conference center. Short drive to McDaniel College, formerly Western Maryland College, restaurants, downtown. We'd stay here again.

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce has an event there every year. They serve prime rib that is the best. We have had family and friends stay here. Don't miss the fresh morning omelet. It is also very clean and well managed. Gizmos Art has always put their guests from out of town there.

"Maybe in the middle of the updating?"

New flooring in the room but same old dirty chairs and old bedding and curtains. Maybe not finished with the update. Bed was very hard this trip last time was fine. Broken shower head but water came out so made it work!! The hotel is near where we need to be and is fine.

"Good hotel, no elevator"

The staff, room, breakfast and internet were all very good. There was no elevator and we were on the 2nd floor. It was very difficult navigating the steps with our belongings. The sink drain was plugged but we got by.

We were in town for my son's wedding. Room was extremely clean . We didn't have breakfast this time but in the past times it has been excellent I like the new decor. Very quiet. It is located near several restaurants and shops which is good in case you have forgotten something. The town of Westminster has some good restaurants also. Nice town

"Our Wedding"

I have to send out a huge heartfelt thank you from both myself and my new bride. We were married at the conference center on 9/16/17 and it was nothing short of perfect. Our original wedding planner unfortunately quit two months before our wedding which had us panicing a bit, however, Cammy came to the rescue along with Macie and actually ended doing a much better job. The food was fantastic, and as we had a Fall themed wedding, we brought quite a bit of our own decorations and left them for Cammy and Macie to decorate how they thought would look appealing. We were blown away with how they set everything up. Everyone in our wedding party, family and friends were all complimenting how wonderful everything was and looked. When we awoke the following day, we both had "wedding hangovers" and were expecting to have to gather up all of the items from the night before, and to our pleasant surprise, ALL of it was packed up in our totes and waiting for us at the front door of the conference center. If you are looking for an affordable, not too over the top place to have your wedding, this is where it should be! Thank you again to all the staff who made our wedding absolutley perfect, you guys are the best!

so disappointed - so clean and above average last time - now moldy A/C unit, loud customers, less than gracious receptionists, MANY earthworms in the pool (I get it, they come out - but 2-3 days earlier after a big storm - time to clean the thing! decomposition! gross!) Bed were terrible - made even my young kids ache!

We had stayed here for a wedding. The entire experience was a nice time. The family celebrated and reminisced in the hotel lobby until late in the morning and the staff was a joy to allow us to do this. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel to others.

Surprisingly nice. Neat, clean, clean TV remote, good breakfast. Room had a hint of must but was ok when A/C was on high. Bathroom stocked with shower cap and makeup remover packet in addition to the usual stuff. Nice touch.

Horrible beds &pillows. Staff was not accommodating-- changed rooms 3 times. air conditioner rattled all night. If there was ANY other hotel in the area we would have stayed there. Some of the staff tried to be helpful ( especially the front desk manager ) but one gentleman was VERY nasty & not caring. My husband is slightly handicap & uses a cane -- this guy just didn't care & never asked if we needed any help.

"Just OK"

We stayed here after attending a wedding in Taneytown. The hotel was just OK. The AC in our unit worked but the dehumidifier did not so it was a very long and uncomfortable night. I was so tired the next day because the pillows were so uncomfortable (way too fat) and I got a sore neck. I feel like I barely slept and was all too happy to get out of bed in the morning. The breakfast offerings were meh, my fiance opting to just not eat anything at all after such a bad nights sleep. The rooms were very clean though and the staff was friendly.

This was our second time staying at this property and it was even better than the first time we stayed here in 2016. The lobby has been completely renovated and the location is great. Our daughter just started school at McDaniel College and this is where we will stay when visit!

This hotel was very nice and clean inside. The pool is small, but well maintained. The exterior looks old and should be updated. The King bed itself was comfortable, but the pillows were to firm for me and I didn't sleep well.

It was the thinnest blanket ever, there was hair in my bed, there was a big bug on the wall that I had to catch, the heater put out a foul smell, and the pillows look like pillows that were cut in half a little puffy squares they weren't even comfortable.

"No Queen Beds as Advertised"

My family and I stayed here one night to attend a friend's party. We booked using the hotel website and reserved a room with two queen beds. Upon arriving to our room we saw we had 2 double beds. At checkout, I mentioned this and we were told that there were no queen beds in the hotel and this was a corporate mistake. Understandable but the rate we paid was for two queens. The staff were friendly. There are limited options in the area, so I would consider staying here again.

"Nice place to stay"

We planned to stay two days but ended up staying at the Best Western Westminster Hotel for three. The staff is very friendly and informative, the breakfast is very good and the hotel is clean. It is located near plenty of places to eat and shop. The pool is nice and the outside is kept up nice. The only downside for us was that we were told our rate was going to be $106. A night. The first night (Saturday) the price given was accurate but Sunday night the price changed to $110 and Monday night to $114. No explanation could be given to us by the staff why our rate changed except for the computer sets the rates. Even though we were not happy about the rate change, we were not going to waist our time to haggle over a few dollars. It was just the point though that we were not told our rate would change daily. We would come back but would make sure they clarify their rates for each night. I would have rated them excellent if it wasn't for that.

Could not get king room as requested; two double beds not useful for two adults; room and bathroom layout very inefficient-too narrow; toilet too low with cheap plastic concave seat. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Pet fee was about twice what we would have paid most places. Location is OK. Can't walk to any stores/food without crossing a busy road. Quiet area that seems relatively safe. Overall, average.

"Wanted to Stay Longer"

My husband and I spent a relaxing time at this hotel --just what we wanted. The property is large and the room was quiet even though moderate traffic is nearby. I was pleased to check in an hour early thanks to the helpful lady at the front desk. The room was good sized. It held a desk and two side chairs in addition to the bed and dresser. We loved having a fridge and microwave, too.

We were attending a family reunion in the area and the host said that this is the best place to stay in the area. There were several of our families staying here and we were all happy with the accommodations. My only disappointment was that we were not put close to each other and were spread out throughout the facility.

This is a great Best Western. They even have a nice outdoor pool for summer fun. It is near a shopping center and restaurants if you want to eat or shop. The breakfast includes a fresh homemade omelet by a chef if you want it. We have had our children stay here and guests from Europe. They were all impressed. I attend meetings there often and they do a real good job with special events. Their best food is the prime rib!

"couldn't get a room"

I tried to book two rooms in this hotel for October. They claim to be pet friendly and they are not!!! They only allow dogs in a very few number of rooms and they are the very tiny rooms (no king beds). The staff I spoke to were unhelpful and rude. I was coming in to town for a dog show (with one dog) and they were not accomodating in the least! I will find somewhere else to stay!!! No more Best Westerns for me!

The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The free hot breakfast was delicious and is a great perk! The Wi-Fi was spotty, but there was a computer in reception I was able to use to check e-mail, and the internet was fast on that computer. Overall, an excellent stay! I'll be back!

"Great Staff & Service"

The hotel staff were efficient and friendly. The place was clean and well kept. A storm had swept through and the staff busily cleaned up the debris immediately. The check in process was fast and efficient and the morning breakfast was very good with omelets to your order. A great stay close to the airport where I could wake up and fly my plane home.

Greeted by Sherrie and she was very accommodating in moving us from the second floor to the first, due to no elevator. Staff were always smiling and accommodating, actual cooked egg breakfast a pleasant surprise. Nice little pool, comfortable accommodations that although dated, worked for us for three days. Needed better air conditioning controls but that's a quibble.

excellent place to stay, room was clean and bright, very welcoming. pool was clean, clear water, great chairs to sit in, breakfast was hot with lots of selections and many tables to sit at we always stay here. Boston Inn near by is smoke smelling and the other hotels are just ok

"Dirty"

The staff is friendly and kind, the rooms are dirty, dusty, sticky. They have a housekeeping staff the performs "light housekeeping" on their rooms. The rooms need a simple full cleaning. If it were simply a dated, simple hotel it would be fine-not many options in the area. But unclean is simply unacceptable.

Very nice and clean hotel with very friendly staff. Stayed over 2 nights with a small child. There was no tub, but the shower worked out ok and had I been traveling without a child I would have really appreciated just a shower. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

"Much Better Now"

A few years ago I faulted this Best Western for its noisy rooms, poor breakfast and tiny postage-stamp-sized pillows. Well, that has changed. I must not have been the only one who disliked it because now the rooms are nice and quiet. Breakfast includes a chef who will fix you an omelet with your choice of goodies. And the pillows: there are various sizes, from slightly above postage stamp to really big and comfy. I'd recommend the Westminster Best Western to anyone today.

My wife and I used to stay at another hotel when we visit this area which is 3-4 times a year. We looked at their reviews this time and they went down hill. We look at this Best Western reviews and they were great reviews so we stayed at this Best Western. Our stay was great. The staff was great, Everything very clean. I only stayed one night, but I was impressed with BW Westminster, MD. I would say that, if you are unable to walk stairs, then be sure to ask for a first floor room, as there are no elevators. I enjoyed my stay very much.

"Great place"

We have stayed here before and it was good . The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean; people were nice also. The only thing is it is an older place so no elevator ( I looked at it like I was getting exercise) but it may not be the right place for you. We have stayed here several times and will be back again. This is the best place to stay in Westminster.. We have had the breakfast before and it was very good also. Great location. If you don't want to eat at hotel for breakfast there are alot of options.

"Fabulous stay!!"

From the moment we checked in to check out we were treated wonderfully!! Our room was clean and neat, loved the low step shower!!! The breakfast was the best I've had in our many years of traveling. We traveled with our dogs as a group with other dog competing in the area. I never heard a dog all weekend and our friends asked who stayed next to us as theirs as well as our barked at hall noise...nothing! Great sound proofing! Will definitely stay again!

The room was filthy, bed doesn't contain actual pillows, window was broken, heating/ac doesn't work properly and the room looked like 1970. There was a constant beeping outside all night that was terribly annoying. The blanket on the bed looked 20 years old. The tv barely worked. I will never stay here again.

"Not the best and not the worst!"

I have stayed here in the past, but out of site, out of mind. This hotel is clean, but I think like most hotels in this chain, most suitable for older travelers. If you have trouble climbing stairs, there are no elevators, so request a room on the first floor. This hotel has two floors. The room was clean, but out dated. The TV was a smaller flat screen, but not high definition. The bathroom was bright and the usual soaps and shampoo is standard. The towels were nice. The toilet had problems draining. That's all I'll say about that. The pillows were hard in my opinion. There were no receptacles at the desk area, only at the floor. There was a receptacle at the light base on an end table. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Breakfast was your typical free breakfast. If you have a coupon, you get an omelet prepared. The floors and wall appear thin, so if you have a first floor room and kids on the second floor above you, you'll hear them or a heavy adult walking or moving about.

"Average hotel, dated but clean"

I stay here a few times a year for business. There are limited hotel choices directly in Westminster and I think this is the best option. But, it is an older property, rooms have not been recently updated. The breakfast is quite good with made to order omelets. You can hear people going up and down the halls, doors slamming, etc.

This is a very well run and nicely appointed hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is very accommodating. We had 4 rooms reserved for a family wedding and all went smoothly. Only difficulty is they do not have an elevator. But there are only 2 floors so it's manageable!

This hotel is well managed and maintained. The stairwell and hallways were very clean; as well as my room. The staff were efficient and pleasant. Tere's a wonderful farmer's market nearby and it's surrounded by stores and eating establishments. The only negative for some would be that they don't have an elevator.

"No housekeeping for five days."

We have stayed at Best Western many, many times. We have never experienced this problem with housekeeping. We were there five nights. The first two, we slept in & had our Do Not Disturb sign out. However, Monday we left for an appt at 9:15am & made sure the sign was in. Tues, we left at 11:15 & made sure the sign was in. Monday I thought it was a weird fluke. Tues evening when we got back, I reported it, when I went to get washcloths. The gentleman at the desk offered to pick up the trash, but I didn't see any reason, at that point, as we were checking out the next day. He did say that we were no on the "Do Not Disturb" list. Upon check out, the lady behind the desk stated she wished I had reported it earlier in the day, on thise days. (But we were out at appts & visiting relatives all day, and didn't return until bedtime most days. Even if we weren't gone until late, I'm thinking blaming the customer for the poor service the hotel provided us with, is not the way to go.) Other than that, our room was nice & clean when we checked in & the bed was comfy. But maybe they need to take a hard look at their housekeeping staff. It's always possible they are over-worked or short-staffed.

"Bed Was Not Made, Not Enough Towels"

As stated our bed was not made and we received only 1 fresh bath towel in our 3 night stay. I felt that because I was using my award points for most of this stay I did not want to complain. Looking back I should have said something to the front desk. We did complain to the person refreshing the room, but to no avail.

The stay was great. However, we booked it through Priceline's affiliate getaroom.com. We booked ahead because it was Thanksgiving weekend. When we awoke to leave, the hotel left their rate slip under the door per normal. It was over $135 LESS than the third party rate we paid with getaroom. I contacted getaroom to dispute the huge difference in price. They would not give us a full refund of the difference in price. Needless to say, I will NEVER use them again. I should have just booked with the hotel or checked a week ahead of time so I coul still cancel to get the much lower rate directly from the hotel. The hotel was fine and we will definitely stay there again, as we recently moved and it is affordable and near family. But getaroom--no thanks. We paid 38% more than the hotel would have charged--what a rip off!

This is definitely the best hotel in town. Rooms are very clean. Hot breakfast is great, with sausage patties, sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs. Waffles, toast, bagels, yogurt, etc. Staff is always friendly. We defiantly pick this hotel over the Boston Inn or Days Inn any day.

There are limited number of places to stay in this rural area. Reservation was easy, front desk staff friendly. Building is old and outdated. After check in, I pulled sheets back on bed and there was hair on it. I don't know if linens werent washed correctly or something else. Staff quick to get me another set of sheets. Sheets were dingy worn, The mattress was too soft. There's a moldy smell in the room as if room needed some sun or fresh air air or carpet needed professional steam cleaning. The a/c unit is very loud. When I turned off, the room got too hot. There's no air flow in the bathroom. Other than that, the room appeared clean. There was a mini fridge and microwave. A lock was broken on the window. This is a 3 store hotel. I stayed 1 night because of a conference. There really wAs no where else to stay and maybe that's why chain won't invest to update the building. There's a shopping center and grocery store across the street with access to food. I would not book a conference here unless it's for blue collar workers. I could hear traffic all night next to highway.

Completely unhelpful and rude staff. Promised us early check-in, didn't have it and so we had to get ready for a wedding in the hallway of the hotel without any apologies or attempts to satisfy our customer experience. They did not have a room for the bride and groom and made the bride cry due to how unhelpful and rude they were being. They gave away reserved lobby use to another wedding for the after party. Never coming here again.

First if you can not do steps, request the first floor. There is no elevator, but only two floors. Otherwise this hotel is clean, updated, plenty of parking, nice breakfast, and congenial staff. I would certainly recommend. Location is convenient to restaurants, shopping, and weddings at Atrim.

"A good value"

Comfortable beds, reasonably priced, decent coffee, clean rooms and good breakfast choices - oh and dog friendly too! We stayed here 3 nights. No reason to have much contact with staff other than check in. They were friendly enough. Pretty quiet even though there were two weddings the weekend we were there. Parking lot is a little stupid, getting in and out, but I don't know that they could help that. We enjoyed our stay there and would definitely return. It's nice that even though there are not many choices in Westminster, there is one that stands out!

"Not the best"

I am loyal to the Best Western Brand. Anywhere I go I usually stay with Best Western. On my most recent trip to Westminster, Maryland I found this hotel to for some reason to be more expensive than the Best Western Plus located outside the Baltimore Washington Airport. I had stayed at the airport BW many times until a casino was built in the area and over crowding became a problem. At $170.00 a night I stayed 2 nights. What i found was that this price was justified by a whirlpool tub and a king size bed. However, while the bed was king size the whirlpool did not work unless you consider a tub of muddy water suitable for relaxation. When taking the photos to the clerk she said she would contact maintenance and have it taken care of. What really took place was the housekeeping staff came in the next day and ran water until it cleared up. There was no bleach or any other product to kill the bacteria that had been in the tub from the night before. Upon arriving back at the hotel that evening and attempting to use the whirlpool the began to run dirty again. Didn't bother saying anything. At checkout without me asking they had taken $20.00 off the 1st night. Use your own judgement but at this rate I expect things to work.

"Quick one nighter."

Staff was great. Breakfast was fine and coffee was excellent. I don't know if they are in the process of updating rooms or not, but the room we were in was very outdated. It was clean, but felt very damp and smelled very musty. So musty our suitcase and clothes smelled when we left and we were only in the hotel long enough to sleep. Our mattress was very old. Bed was low to the ground, mattress was very springy and just uncomfortable and the pillows were small and lumpy. Bathroom was large, but very dark and just dingy. Not dirty...just old. The rest of the hotel is bright and clean and the grounds are nice and it is very convenient, but please update the mattresses and bathrooms!! Just glad we were only there for one night as there are not many choices in Westminster, and for more than one night, I would have been rather uncomfortable.

I stayed here for a business trip this week. The rooms were clean and the beds were quite comfortable. I loved the remodel on the bathrooms with the walk in showers, clean, modern, and very nice. The only thing I didn't like was breakfast. They had premade pancakes, a waffle iron, a few yogurts, and a chef making omelets. I got one of the omelets and it was ok but was a little too greasy. The hotel did give me a coupon for that initial "hot" breakfast, i.e. the omelet, but they didn't say how much it would have been the second day. I opted to eat out the second morning. In all, I would stay here again if I'm in the area because the rooms were good, but I would just choose to eat breakfast elsewhere.

I rarely stay at a Best Western but this location was the most convenient to local family. Room was VERY clean, staff members were very helpful, and breakfast was above average. No complaints! I would return to this motel without hesitation.

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to every event and all relatives. The hotel staff was very friendly and greeted you each and every time they saw you. The room was spacious and clean. The "HOT" Breakfast was hot and plenty of items to choose from. We will definitely stay again when in Westminster.

The staff at this hotel go out of their way to help make your visit wonderful. I was staying as part of a large family for a wedding. The hotel is a little older and of average condition, but I would stay again just because of the service.

Never having stayed in a Best Western , I didn't know what to expect. But the cleanliness of the rooms exceeded by expectations. The complimentary breakfast was very good. This isn't an upscale place to stay. However, it is always clean and comfortable. When in the Westminister area, I always choose to stay here as it is a good bargain. It is usually very quiet and comfortable. I've never had a problem here.

A very nice hotel with nice rooms , a good breakfast and very close to the college. One thing you should consider on is there is no elevator to the second floor so if you have heavy luggage , it is a point to think of it. We stayed there 5 nights and the bottom line it was OK.

My initial thoughts were negative. I arrived and could not find a handicapped parking spot except by a locked side door. Staff person solved the problem. Place was quiet. The room felt humid but I got used to it. The high rating reflects the actions of the staff. The front desk person was very helpful. The breakfast room person was friendly and helpful. My omlett made to order would be good anywhere. But if eggs are not to your taste there are many good choices. NOTE to management-you have a great staff!

We were in town for a family get together and several of us stayed at the Best Western. The rooms were a bit dated but clean and large. They could use a few more electrical outlets. Everyone enjoyed their stay and commented on the friendliness of the staff. There is an outside pool which was nice on what were very warm days. The breakfast offering was good however the serving area is small for a large hotel.

What a surprising little gem of a hotel! The rooms were clean and in relatively good condition. The breakfast had a good variety. We loved the "make your own omelette chef" who was cooking made to order omelettes for guests. However, the very best part was the service received by all of the staff. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. The biggest praise however, should go to the front desk staff who went above and beyond to help us and make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this location if you're ever in town.

Best place in town. Good breakfast, especially Mondays through Fridays when there is a chef on duty. The location is very close to fast food restaurants, regular family restaurants, grocery stores and many other services. It is however lacking an elevator to the second floor. It would also be nice if it had a hot tub to go along with the outside unheated pool.

Hotel is clean, room is clean. No TV remote and when requested was told the remote had to be programmed by the housekeeping staff, who were not available. Breakfast was substantial, much more than continental. However, staff worked in the breakfast room on the food without wearing gloves. There is no elevator, handicapped or those with luggage be aware. Hotel is on the outskirts of town surrounded by lawn and fields. Other than the swimming pool, nothing for kids. Evening manager did not know how to give directions to places in town. On the whole, the staff needs training. This could be a nice place with a little of attention.

Room reeked of mildew when we walked in the room, it was hard to want to run the fan or a/c because it intensified it. The coffee pot was broken when we went to use it in the morning, and we did not receive the discount offered because of these problems when we got the bill. Very overpriced for the garbage we received.

Whole motel needs some basic cleaning inside and landscaping outside. Breakfast average; room and bathroom clean, but room had a musty smell. Location really good be a 4 or 5 with some updates and cleaning. Room had fridge and coffee pot. Outside pool looked ok, didn't try it

My recent Business Stay at this hotel was excellent. Friendly staff, nice clean rooms, and nice commons area to hold interviews in. Breakfast is very good. A "Made to Order" Omelet Bar and Biscuits w/Gravy, and a sausage patty filled me up. ALWAYS had Hot Coffee available. In the evenings treat yourself to a FREE Bag of Freshly Popped Popcorn. I will definitely stay here again.

I thought this was a very good hotel/ it needs to be updated but my main concern is clean and good customer service and it was a 10 on both. The location was good ; there were several restaurants in the area and places to shop etc.It was so very quiet I couldn't believe it . The bed / mattress could have been a little firmer but the space of the room was unbelievable. It was a good experience since we will be coming back to the area.

Another visit with family in Westminster MD. As usual, we stayed at the Best Western. We like it because the staff is friendly and the rooms are both reasonably priced and quite pleasant. It is two stories but there is no elevator. We always request a ground floor room and have never been disappointed. The facility has initiated a "Good Neighbor" policy that requires quiet time after 10 PM. This is nice as McDaniel College is nearby and in the past young folks have been more exuberant than us old folks can tolerate. The inn is across the street from a small shopping center with a grocery store, Burge King, Subway, pizza place and liquor store. Also, nearby are several restaurant including an IHOP. Downtown Westminster downtown is about 5 minutes away with several good restaurants. Note that the ratings are comparing this BW with other hotels / motels in it class.

When we first arrived we were assigned room 102. It was across from the ice machine and there was a loud, clacking fan blowing there. In addition, it was next to the entrance and a room where maids kept their materials. We complained and immediately were given room 115. Our new room was very quiet, except for the noise of guests walking in the room above ours. But after 10:00 p.m. or so, that stopped. There were two sizes of pillows and the shower was probably the best I have ever had in a hotel or motel. Unlike some venues, the bathroom was extremely well lighted. During weekdays they now have a man making omelets. On weekends there are scrambled eggs. I would expect I was not the only one who complained in the past about their very cold "full breakfast," because now it is excellent. Only the coffee was poor, but that seems to be the case in every hotel and motel: coffee-colored hot water with little flavor. We checked out on Sunday morning, but did not have breakfast because it was very, very crowded. On omelet days we had no problems.

Went to visit our daughter in Maryland and were looking for a convenient comfortable place to stay. Chose the Best Western in Westminster. No regrets at all. Could not ask for a better place for the money. Was very clean and the staff were excellent. I would highly recommend and will definitely stay again in the future.

"Overrated but decent"

One of three motels in town. The other two are very poor. Because of this BW hikes up room rates to almost double when demand is high.( i.e. next door college graduation etc.) When it gets busy all promo rates disappear and only the highest rate is offered by the front desk. The facility is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is good on week days when there is a cook. Week-ends are dry scrambled eggs, and biscuit with commercial mix gravy. Room conditions are usually good, but sometimes repairs are neglected. (Plumbing, microwave, electrical receptacles.) No rain protection at side and back access doors. Good internet connectivity. Good location except on high demand days.

"Good Hotel"

I stayed here this past weekend and I must say I haven't slept that well in a hotel in some time. I found the mattress to be comfortable yet firm and the air conditioner kept the room to the perfect temperature without hearing a loud motor followed by total silence (instead there was a constant low buzz - white noise). The Internet was consistent and reliable throughout the property and provided a fast connection - and the same cannot be said for most hotels. I stayed in a jacuzzi suite and was overall very pleased with the room - it was quite large and the addition of the jacuzzi was a great touch. Areas for Improvement: I won't necessarily call these "cons," but rather places where I think this hotel could improve. 1) The breakfast was good, but the breakfast room was cramped - I get the feeling that 90% of the time the room is plenty large, but for weekends with events going on in the area, the breakfast room itself just could not hold enough people. 2) In the suite's bathroom, the shower/toilet area is quite dark with just the regular light on - it becomes necessary to turn the dial of the "heat lamp" as well. Honestly, I think the bathroom would be better served with a regular light in the shower/toilet area. 3) The stall shower was not bad, although a few times the water went from comfortably warm to nearly scalding hot for a moment. I'm not sure what caused this, but it did cause some alarm 4) On the last day, the hot water was discolored - it was not something that I was too concerned about since it was my last day and the cold water ran clear, but perhaps something that the hotel should fix 5) I only turned the (very large) tv on once, and it looked kind of blurry. That may have just been the cable connection or something, and this wasn't of concern to me, as the room was mainly for sleeping! 6) This was not a concern for me, but I did hear an older couple that was not too pleased that there was no elevator available. Mainly just want that to be in the review (the hotel is only 2 floors, but for anyone who struggles with stairs, staying on the second floor may not be an option).

"Pleasant Surprise"

There are not many choices in Westminster, MD, so the Best Western was an obvious choice. Best Westerns can be hit or miss. This one is a definite hit. All the employess from check-in to check-out were friendly and helpful, the room (and bathroom) were nicely clean. Surroundings were well kept and attractive. The breakfast was excellent. Perhaps not the newest building, but it is well maintained and quiet. If you are nearby and need a place to stay, this is a fine choice.

"Comfortable Stay"

Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. To ensure we had connecting rooms, we called hotel directly and they were very accommodating. Only issue was that we requested and were granted Late Checkout several days in advance. However, when we arrived they said that since hotel was full on the weekend, Late Checkout was no longer possible and they had no record of our original request. Fortunately, the manager was nearby and interceded to approve the Late Checkout (1 hr). While breakfast was free, the choices were fairly limited and the smallish eating area was packed (not surprising for a Saturday morning) so we chose to go to Baugher's Restaurant (2 minutes away). Definitely the right call since Baugher's was excellent for breakfast. We were on first floor and could hear kids running around upstairs up until 9PM. The noise restarted around 7AM so that was a bit frustrating but we chose not to complain.

Another visit to family in Westminster MD. We have been staying at this hotel server times a year for 30 years. It is our favorite in the area. Since our last stay, the have instituted a "good neighbor" policy calling for quiet after 10PM. There appears to have been some updating recently. Our room looked as if the bathroom had been redone not too long ago. The fixtures were new; there was new shower, no tub, with a low sill. The facility is located near two small shopping areas across the street. There is a liquor store with an awesome selection of whiskey. things I dont see in NJ. Several restaurants are there, as well. Downtown Westminster is 5 minutes away with more restaurants. and the route 140 corridor is bursting with food and shopping.

Don't stay at any other hotel in Westminster I tried one of the hotels another chain when visiting the school before she attended it was horrible. This hotel is safe and clean

We were given a room on the second floor, even though the room had been booked many months ago with the express request of being on the first floor. When I asked the direction to the elevator I was told "We don't have one." There was no offer to help with luggage until the coordinator who had made the arrangements expressed her displeasure we had been bumped upstairs for a recent booking of a wedding party. The oddest thing we noticed was in our bathroom. The tub had been replaced with a handicapped step-in shower. Why would you install a handicap accessible in a second floor room in a hotel that does not have an elevator. On the positive side there is a very nice breakfast room. Each morning there was an omelet station! However, each day we had to go to the front desk to get a coupon for the breakfast. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

We needed a handicap accessible room and although the room was a little small, the shower was easy to get in and out of with a wheel chair and bathroom had handle bars. The bed was soft with extra pillows. Service was extremely friendly and accommodating to our questions and requests. Room was very clean. Internet a little slow but workable. Hot breakfast was nice.

Room was booked on second floor. No mention was made by staff that there was no elevator. Knee and hip replacements make climbing difficult. Front desk and large signage reminds everyone the "Quiet Time" begins at 10PM. This might be okay for a nursing home, but come on...

Just across the road from McDaniel college, it's exactly what I'd hoped for: clean, quiet, with friendly & helpful staff. Comfortable beds, good wifi. The hot breakfast is a bit better than a lot of hotels in this price range - made-to-order omlettes were appreciated. The other food was pretty much the same as competitors - Wonder bread (or equivalent), cheap pastries, etc. There's a wood burning fireplace in the lobby. When I asked about it, the person on duty offered to build a fire, which was very pleasant on what turned out to be a rather chilly evening. The clerk had good suggestions for local restaurants (it surprises me when hotel clerks *don't* have suggestions, but it happens!), and was very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.

Ok to start off, I had booked online clearly in advance for a ground floor room when I arrived outside isn't bad at all looks like southern charm. My ground floor room was given away! I'm not happy! No elevator to second floor. Rooms still need furniture updating. Carpets look newer and bathrooms/tvs have been updated that's about it. My main problem was breakast.... there's a young gentleman that actually cooks omelets for your stay! But he does smoke! A big no no with me comes back in from smoking and cigarette smell too.. then I overheard the cook and the breakfast bar attendant talk about mold on the bottom of biscuits! :( so after I've done ate 3/4 of biscuits and gravy I flipped the bottom half left over and wow! MOLDED MOLDED MOLDED! I felt sick immediately lol... I had taken the issue to the hotel management and she wanted to solve the problem bye offering me half of what I will pay for my dinner.... Is She serious... I do not know why for such a great town why there's not a newer or under construction hotel! I will go 20 miles out of my way before I stay here again. Sorry but I have to tell it. ENJOY.

I certainly can understand your frustration in not having a first floor room however, booking through third parties you will receive what we (Best Western Westminster) have contracted upon with the specific third parties therefore with Booking.com, we contracted rooms on our second floor. I apologize as you should have been made aware upon booking your reservation that your room would be on our second floor and there is 10 step walk up. I did discuss with my chef, breakfast bar attendant and you that this is unacceptable and We do apologize. We loved the fact that we could walk to a grocery store, a drugstore, an excellent wine store - all in shopping malls across the road - and, best of all, a wonderful farmstand! Got amazing pie there, and went back for more. It's also attached to a wonderful local restaurant with fine home-cooking. The hotel itself is perfectly nice, if you're not super-fussy about things being shiny and new, which they aren't. We were thrilled to have a kitchenette, so we didn't have to eat every meal out. And also we were jet-lagged from Europe, so we could have weird snacks at weird times. Having an active, wood-burning fireplace in the lobby was a wonderful plus, and the lobby has a wall of windows that get great sun in the morning. Best of all, though, were the staff, who were all as friendly, kind and welcoming as could be, from the housekeeping to the front desk. And unexpected pleasure to stay there for 3 nights. We were there for a friend's wedding, and gave ourselves an extra day to get over jet-lag.

As compard to other hotel reports I gathered from my contacts, I was advised to stay at Best Western last year. In Sept Oct 2015 & in Feb 16 I stayed at this Hotel for a few weeks. Over all experience is excellent. Staff is really helpful. Ample parking space available. Walking distance from shops & maximum 5 7 min drive to all good restaurants in Westminster, MD.

I'm Wags..and when I stay in Westminster, Md., I stay at the Best Western Westminster. The former home of the Baltimore Ravens, this hotel has everything you need when staying for business or pleasure. Close to McDaniel College, this hotel is clean, comfy and the staff is great. Also walking distance to Safeway and BK, two of my favorites. Check this place out. You can't go wrong!

"Not as advertized"

Before booking this hotel, we checked the website and other reviews. The hotel boasts of 101 exquisitely appointed rooms. We were evidently in the 102nd room. It was low average. Clean enough but only marginally so. Furnishings were so so at best. Toiletries were of very poor quality although containers looked pretty good. No breakfast chef and breakfast muffins and pasteries appeared to have been purchased at a discount last year. Very stale. At check in, we had to sign our lives away with lots of threats about what would happen if we were noisy. The threats were repeated on placards posted in hallways and in the room. This made us very nervous, as in what kinds of problems do they have here. The complimentary breakfast required an admission ticket and one had to go to the desk each day to get the ticket. The advertised complimentary coffee 24/7 was only available at breakfast. The desk clerk was not friendly and didn't even ask how our stay was when we checked out. Actually, as my husband stood at the desk with key cards in hand, she looked up and said "What do you want?". Although there are few options in Westminster, we will find another place before returning here.

"Very cozy hotel"

We stayed here for 3 nights and the breakfast was great. During the week they have an omelet chef and he was great. The staff was very friendly. We didn't have hot water our first night, so that was a bummer. Also we were on the second floor and we had 3 big suitcases and 1 small one plus a couple carry-ons and there is no elevator. The guy working who told us there was no elevator didn't offer to help us carry our luggage upstairs. Beds are comfy but small for two people, but overall it was a good stay and I would stay again, except on the first floor.

Friendly staff, clean room. I was traveling with 2 dogs which can be a challenge with unfamiliar noises. Our room was very quiet and that allowed my dogs and me to have a peaceful night. There was plenty of area for me to exercise the dogs, but I wish it was better lighted.

"Good (but Shortened) Stay"

We were in town for the dog shows which were supposed to be four days. Due to an incoming blizzard, three of the 4 days were cancelled and we needed to shorten our stay at the Best Western. The front desk was very helpful in adjusting our unexpected change to our check out time/day. Our room was spacious and there was plenty of grassy area to walk our dogs. Our only complaint (my husband's) was that the pillows were too hard and very uncomfortable. We will stay here again, but he will bring his own pillow.

Blizzard of 2016! We do love our Winter season however, it does bring the threat of Snow and boy did we get a lot in Westminster, Maryland. "Excellent Stay"

I travel frequently and can highly recommend this hotel. I always stay here whenever I travel to this area for business. Had a room with king bed and bar. Was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast that included the fresh cooked breakfast was very good. The only down side is that there is no elevator, which means that if you have a room on the second floor and have a physical issue and have a fair amount of luggage, this might be an issue. Otherwise, I recommend this hotel highly. Plenty of restaurants nearby also and shopping centers adjacent.

"Ok Hotel Except During Biker Convention"

My son had a doctor's appointment in Westminister, Md. I booked his room from Sunday until Saturday morning. The stay was fine until Friday night. A biker group booked the entire hotel and it was a disaster. They were screaming, running up an down the hallway, smoking weed, cigarettes and drinking heavily. Many were high on meth and it was like to Zombie Apocalypse. My son who is recovering from an illness was not able to get to sleep until 4 am. I spoke with one of the employees and this is a yearly event. If that is so, other rooms should not be booked when this freak show comes to town. I would appreciate a refund for my son's stay on Friday night.

The king bed room with kitchenette was perfect for our stay. Very nicely furnished the staff was very helpful in accommodating us to celebrate an after-Christmas family get-together. Cookies on arrival and chef-prepared omelet on departure!

"Comfortable and clean"

Stayed just 1 night - it is very near the college in Westminster. A nice fireplace in the lobby welcomed us warmly on a cold evening. Very polite staff and comfortable bed. Free breakfast had a great variety and was well staffed.

We enjoyed the 24 hour tea and Coffee that was always fresh and the friendliness of the staff. we really loved the Christmas tree in the lobby and burning the wood stove. all this gave us the homely and Holiday feeling. the made to order omelets

"Pet friendly hotel"

Great hotel to travel with your pets. Clean, safe and comfortable for pets. Rooms are clean and worry free because of previous guests with pets. Accommodations for me were very sufficient and staff was extremely helpful and courteous. My visit was during a holiday and hotel was decorated and festive. Setting is perfect because of shopping plaza nearby. Would definitely use this hotel again!!

"Not impressed"

Dated and showings age. Beds are solid as rocks and the pillows are as thin as paper and small like couch pillows. Breakfast is also not impressive. You have some options of waffles and eggs with sausage. A couple different types of juices to go with it. Not too many other options in the area.

Spent two nights with family. Room was nice, the breakfast was good with hot food not just typical self made waffles and convenient location. Staff not overly helpful but really did not require much interaction with them.

"Smoke Smell"

The web site stated this was a non-smoking hotel and I was informed of the hotel's non-smoking policy when I checked in. However, over my 3 night stay the smell of stale cigarette smoke grew progressively worse.. The hallway had an even stringer smell. It was obvious that some guests did not adhere to the non-smoking policy and it seemed the staff was not enforcing it.

My apologies! I can certainly understand your frustration as smoking smell can be strong especially when you are staying at a non smoking hotel. We certainly try our very best to enforce our non smoking policy however, as you are aware some people just do not adhere to the rules. "Nice Place"

This hotel was ideally located for my business needs. I found the property to be in good shape for being an older looking building. Great breakfast too. The front desk staff was helpful during check in and out. I asked about a restaurant and Matt suggested I try the Stables Restaurant. That turned out to be outstanding suggestion. Great food and very reasonably priced.

"Great Hotel"

This hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. Even though this was a last minute need and we arrived at 2am the staff was accommodating and friendly. I have no complaints. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will stay there again.

You could smell the rug deodorant as soon as you walk in. I had to have the window open the two nights I was there, it was the second week in November and gets cold at night. So you have been warned......good luck.....

Stayed here for 4 nights for business and it is a clean and comfortable hotel and room. Hot breakfast with omelette station and other items to start the day. Plenty of restaurants in the area to eat and plenty of stores to go shopping. Beds are comfortable and rooms are a nice size

"Comfortable, clean, and awesome breakfast"

They have a breakfast made by a chef, doesn't get more comfortable than this. If you've spent some time living out of a hotel, then this place will change your standards. The rooms are spacious and don't have bad smells. They accept small pets and have parking for my work truck. I always had great service and no complaints from me. I highly recommend staying here, rather than the other local hotels, been at them all while I was in the area for 10 months, nothing else was worth it.

"Great spot for Westminster"

Good rooms, great staff, nice breakfast. Made our visit to friends and relatives fantastic. This was a perfect "base of operations" for visiting relatives and friends in the MD, VA, DC area. Westminster and the surrounding area are "motel poor" but this Best Western property sure evens the scale.

"Older but updated!"

We were in the area for a wedding (not held at the hotel). We found the room to be clean and updated. Comfortable and affordable. The only hiccup was our bed ...we found it to be very hard for us. Breakfast was very crowded (other weddings onsite!) but food was good and the serve kept things from running out. Ceck-in and out were flawless. Staff helpful. We'd stay again.

hard to rate this hotel as I got in very late at night and left immediately after breakfast Rooms are OK and reasonable size. Front Desk service was OK. Breakfast was pretty much standard for similar Hotels . No real complaints about anything really. Would stay here again and perhaps be able to say more about the place

The staff at Best Western in Westminster are very welcoming and go over and above to ensure your stay is comfortable while you are at their hotel. Given the small town of Westminister, I felt the service and hospitality was in line with any big city hotel. I have been very pleased and impressed during all my stays.

This hotels staff is always pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet is better than some others because they make you fresh eggs or omelets. They resolve any issue immediately. Although no onsite restaurant, there are plenty in the area.

We travel to Westminster at least once a year and have stayed in two other local hotels. This is our first visit to this Best Western. We were happy to find a clean and well maintained room with comfortable beds. The breakfast was good with chef prepared omelettes and freshly made banana bread! All the employees were friendly and helpful, We enjoyed our visit and definitely will stay here on return trips!

"Quality Experience"

I recently stayed here for a meeting at their Conference Center. It is not my first time at staying here, & I have always been pleased with my experience. My only concern is there is no elevator which means I have to carry my suitcase up a flight of stairs if staying in a second floor room. However, this time when I made my reservation, I could choose the option of having first floor room which made for a much nicer stay.

Very nice people and superb amenities. Super nice room, although we were too tired to use the lovely Jacuzzi tub. Nice hot breakfast with a lot of selections, and fresh made eggs and omlettes. Clean, decorated nicely, my only suggestion would be an extra blanket in a drawer or closet to have one hand if needed. I've traveled a lot before and never seen all the toiletry items that were offered in this little out of the way hotel.
