Best Western Hotel Vrigstad

Incredible experience… Love this Hotel! The staff was professional and friendly, the accommodations were lovely, and the breakfast was so generous and tasty! We had a wonderful room, number 404 with great Internet! the pool, sauna, “relax”room and hot tub were such a nice addition. We also recommend the Hotels steakhouse restaurant. A great day and we would highly recommend to anyone!

We spontaneously stopped at this hotel as we were driving through Vrigstad, as it was getting to a point in the day where we thought perhaps we should look for a room. Front desk staff were friendly and competent. The hotel was busy with people attending conferences, but was still quiet and comfortable. The room had everything we could want. In certain respects, it is just a typical sprawling modern motel/hotel, but there were numerous amenities (pool, spa, etc.) that we did not take advantage of. Our room was down a number of long hallways from the front desk and parking was not available near the room. The attached restaurant was quite good - varied menu and good selection of drinks. The breakfast buffet was excellent.

The hotel had very narrow beds and the room was very hot. The breakfast was “OK”. The restaurant had good food but with a waiter who didn't know anything about the different dishes, wine alternatives or beers. He had to ask everything to the chef! After the main course, we ordered a dessert with some berries and when we saw it was “hjortron” (cloudberry) I said. “Oh, hjortron” as it was a positive surprise for me. Then he said: “I don't know but I can ask the chef”. Then I explained that we could see the berries and feel the smell of them ourself and that he didn't had to ask the chef what kind of berries it was. The hotel has a whirlpool and also a swimmingpool outside. Very pleasant!

Very clean room. TV in the room. Clean bathroom. Comfortable and clean bed. Not very modern furniture but good enough. Very kind and helpful personal. A good walking path around the hotel and remember to borrow reflex vest from reception. Very good breakfast and delicious several types of bread.

Well situated in the middle of Vrigstad and next to the church. A charming hotel with very friendly staff. The rooms have a nice good size with a functional albeit minimalistic bathroom. Breakfast was very nice.

Very nice, helpful and friendly staff. Rooms nothing special, bathroom even a little bleak. Room prices relatively high, but I suppose, there is not that much competition in the area. Restaurant attached to hotel is quite good.

Great hotel in a small and quiet town. Perfect room and a wonderful breakfast in the morning, nice staff and value for your money, absolutely a must stay if you are in this area of Sweden. Totally recomendable

This is a great hotel, with very good food. I really can recommend a visit to the restaurant. The rooms have large TVs, the staff is friendly. I saw some reviews mentioning that the furniture was old, and while that's true, the room was pretty much pristine so I don't think it's a problem. Breakfast was very good, but the buffet could be a bit cleaner. Booked this though a special offer, so I don't know the usual prices. Do remember that this place is right in the middle of nowhere – there's a moose park and _nothing_ else close by.

Very friendly staff that automatically had upgraded our a bit pricey booking to a Deluxe Room at no extra cost. That actually made the price/quality fine. The hotel standard is ok, it's cleen but seems a bit worn down and not stylish. Breakfast is absolutely excellent, and has great options for allergics. Nothing to see in the town.

First comment: price-quality balance is way out of line: this hotel is too expensive. The rooms are ok, they are clean but nothing special at all. The restaurant offers good food but also here very expensive. Breakfast however was very good and included in the room price. Room price for a single room was SEK 1395,- which is extremely much for a place like Vrigstad. Parking is available, WiFi is available. The staff is friendly.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Special meals are fixed at no extra charge and the breakfast is the best! Even for gluten intolerants - and, they had my favourite organic tea! Comfortable beds and pillows. Wooden floors in bedrooms. The only reason for not giving it a 5/5 is because of the corridor outside the rooms that can be a bit noisy from other guests. Thin walls. If I ever visit this small town again I will come back!

Nice place for a family holiday. Had the pool for our selves and we enjoyed the restaurant. Quiet and not much to do at night but relax. A small town that takes a blink to pass. We enjoyed it. Now when I am alone again... Only my on and I .. I do consider going back after all the bad memories of my ex is gone.

John Cleese might have done this as a joke. You don't want to pay for the experience. There are good Best Westerns in Jönköping and Kalmar -- drive past Vrigstad, if only to avoid the overpriced restaurant dinner or the worse free breakfast. In all seriousness, there was too much wrong at this overpriced hotel to explain, from room locks that didn't work to a malfunctioning room refrigerator that turned the place into a sauna or mould in the shower. Nearby Best Westerns are good. Drive past Vrigstad and use one.

We stayed there during our bike trip across Sweden. The hotel has a good location and pleasant Swedish look. However, the rooms haven't been refurbished in quite a long time and decor is old fashioned. The worst of all was that we could only open the window so that there was 20 cm space for air to come in. Hence, it was hot and airless in the room, as there was no aircon either. Bathroom was ok and clean. Very good breakfast with possiblity to press your own orange juice. The restaurant (steakhouse) was an average local restaurant with huge portions and no fancy food. Staff was all young and confused. We made an online reservation on the same day. Then as we arrived after 4 p.m. they asked us in the reception to go back and check in in the restaurant as the reception closes in the afternoon. Then the girl from the restaurant called reception anyway as she lacked information what to do and couldn't find our reservation in the system... By check out the situation was similar where we were sent between reception and the restaurant, as they were uncertain who can retreive our bill for the dinner that we were unable to pay the day before due to the system being down (and then we are made paying 50 SEK too much due to error in the bill). Generally average hotel.

If your happen to be in Vrigstad at lunch time this restaurant is a good choice. Good food at a very reasonable price. Summertime you can eat "al fresco" which is good if you for example have a dog. Lots of parking space!
