Best Breakfast in the chain! The hot tub is actually a hot spring! The staff at this hotel operate as if they care about the magnificent old building, and go the extra mile to make sure that the guest experience is a true destination resort, not an overnight motel stay.
It was unique and I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, but in the end I really liked it! Yes, the building is historic: there is only one entrance, through the front lobby. We arrived after dark (after the most isolated drive I've ever experienced - through WY, both cool and unsettling at the same time) and the parking lot was pretty dark, that was probably when I felt most uncomfortable. We parked in front, but the overflow lot is kind of out of the way behind the hotel. There was no elevator, which was not a problem for us. Many people mention the sulfuric smell, and yes, it is present. It didn't particularly bother me - you smell it at first and then you get used to it. Much better, in my opinion, than heavy perfumes or artificial air fresheners. If you're super sensitive to smells, maybe it would be a problem. We had a really big clean room, a really comfy king bed, good sound insulation, good water pressure, a Keurig (yay!) and very easy access to the state park. We didn't use the hotel's jacuzzi but instead we went to the bathhouse in the state park. Breakfast was also good. And who can resist chocolate chip cookies at the reception desk? Would stay again!
Staff is welcoming and friendly. The facility is clean and well kept. This is a town with multiple hot springs and this Best Western has its very own little hot springs pool. Kind of small but easily fits about 6 people. That works because no one really stays in more than 20 minutes or so. Many fun activities in the area. Fishing, hiking, dinosaur museum, a good brewery. Stayed 2 nights on our way to Montana and next year will stay at least 3. Reasonable pricing. Decent free bfast daily.
Somewhat disappointed, pretty good hotel but our room smelled like a dog kennel, the room was clean and spotless bathroom with great shower ,but the carpet was filthy and really smelled like dog. I wish we would have been told at check in ,it was a pet friendly room.
This is a sweet gem of a hotel, and a great spot to relax and soak off your hiking miles. They have a hot tub with the same mineral water as the state park and private water parks nearby. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and while the hotel shows its age, it's very clean. Excellent value.
A/c is a portable unit in room. No maid service so floor got very dirty. Had to go to desk for towels and even toilet paper. Bed was old and sagged in the middle, hurting my back. Won't stay there again Asked for a new room but they didn't have any, even for new checking. There were 20 in our party staying there. Expensive for the condition of room and bed not to mention the spiders!
I went on a 3 week holiday in America and we have stayed at about 10 hotels. We gave each on a rating out of 5. Cleanliness of Hotel 3 - Hotel and room was very clean, but this was let down by the pool and hot bath that had not been cleaned. Breakfast 2 - no hot food, not much to choose from. Just expected more for the price. Staff 5 - they were very helpful and friendly Room 5 - it was a lovely size with really nice fittings and fel comfortable. Table and chairs, fridge, hairdryer, ironing board, and microwave. Comfy bed 5 - The bed was very comfy, and we had a good night's sleep Pillows 4 - they were good, just not the best we had. Value for money 2 - breakfast disappointing and the pool Overall, I enjoyed the hotel, and the staff were great. The One Eyed Buffalo was a great place to eat. The food was delicious and the staff friendly.
Have stayed there in the past and had quiet upstairs room. Said they couldn't give us the same room even with months notice. Said the guy that helped me with reservation “Jeremy” hasn't worked there in two years. WTH? Too loud portable air conditioner in room. Couldn't sleep even with ear plugs. Turn it off and too hot. Also heard staff/someone using nearby bathroom at 5:00am. Room 107 Worst nights sleep ever. Won't be back.
Check-in was easy. Front desk clerks are VERY friendly and sweet. There were chocolate chip cookies (yay!). We have stayed twice and preferred the suite we had once to the two double bed room we got this time (who wouldn't?), but the hotel is friendly and well-designed. My son and husband swam. The hot-tub is a big draw, so there were a lot of adults coming and going, same with the pool. The overall set up is beautiful! I have recommended dimmer hall lighting at night, for better sleep. We would definitely come back if we make it back to this area. Fishing right outside the hotel in the river, if you want. Also highly recommend the S Lazy 7 Cafe, or something like that. It's just down the street. Great, great food and service.
During our road trip, we stopped overnight in Thermopolis on our drive toward Jackson Hole. We stayed at the Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel, which is located inside Hot Springs State Park. To our surprise, the jacuzzi at the hotel uses the hot springs mineral water from the park. Delightful. The layout of the hotel is unique, but it's easy to navigate; I'm not sure what the historic hotel was originally designed for. Rooms were comfortable and clean and customer service was good.
This was supposed to be a fun and relaxing family trip.. unfortunately every staff member I spoke to was highly unprofessional, running around yelling and wearing pajamas. The pool was closed the entire time, I asked the general manager when it would be open and she told me “one hour” and proceeded to ignore my phone calls or let me know the pool would be closed for DAYS. Nobody cleaned the room or offered fresh towels. The front desk agent was very rude and also wearing her pajamas. The entire hotel is unprofessional and ruined my family trip. 10/10 do NOT recommend if you're coming with your family.
I had booked the room through booking.com. When I arrived, they said they did not have a room for me. I showed them my confirmation code and that the reservation showed verified still on the app. The front desk clerk apologized and said they did not have a room available as they were completely full. She said I would have to request a refund through booking. I had to find another room after booking this room 8 months in advance for a family reunion. I found a room. Worked with Customer Service on the Booking.com site and they said the hotel is saying I cancelled past the date of the stay! I have called them 3 times. Each time they agree that I tried to check in on that date - but they won't verify or refund according to the booking app. I have been on with their customer service 3 times now.
The hotel is comfortable, quiet, close to the river and hot springs. Breakfast is good and employees are friendly. We love that they are dog friendly, but the website states: "We are pet friendly and allow up to two dogs in a rented room. The size limit for any one dog shall be 80 pounds. Other pet types (e.g. cats) may be allowed upon the hotel's approval prior to arrival. Pet rate is $30 per day with a $150 per week maximum." What they don't state is that they charge you $30 per dog. $60 per day is unacceptable. Would stay again, but without the dogs.
We loved our suite and the grounds were beautiful with the river at your feet almost. The hotel was set up in a very nice way. We love this Best Western and will stay here every chance we get!
This place was great! Located within walking distance to everything in Hot Springs State Park. Super cute, good sized rooms, friendly staff.
Came back after long absence. If they give you 104 insist on new room. AC is broken. Will not return
Having stayed at many Best Westerns over the past few years, I can clearly state that this is the poorest "Plus" property I've seen. The air conditioner in our room never worked and was not repaired despite our requests at the front desk. We never got the room below 77 degrees. The only ice machine on the property was not working and was not repaired. Staff not helpful. The property is worn out, needs an upgrade. The only cheerful person on the property was the morning kitchen manager; good guy, standard breakfast fare.
Really neat updated historic hotel. Very clean except the carpets could use a better vacuum. Bed (double) was comfortable and I had a walk in shower with high end soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenses. The grounds are beautiful and the mineral pool area was clean and pretty. If you have mobility issues, request a ground level room as there is no elevator. The real gem here though is the people. Darla at the front desk was funny, helpful and a great ambassador for BW. She knows the area well and can answer any question. The breakfast area lady was super nice also and housekeeping makes you a little towel animal with a note. Would recommend and stay again.
I expected a bit more from a BW Plus. I admire restoring an older hotel, but not quite hitting the mark. The tub would be great for taking a bath as it is nice and deep. But there was no handrail for getting in and out, vending machine was empty and ice machine broken (we were able to get ice from the lady supervising breakfast). There were at least 2 outside stairs which one could be converted to an elevator. The rooms were clean and well maintained.
Turn back time to where guest service and comfort are the main concern and you will find this hotel. Fantastic guest service by Marta and Sara. The rooms are large comfortable. The hotel is only a 5 min walk to the hot springs or the river. A MUST stop if thraveling through Thermopolis.
The hotel was as advertised. The pool wasn't open yet, but the hot tub is open year round and is supplied from the nearby hot springs. The employees are friendly and efficient. I didn't have the breakfast, but I noticed there were many choices of hot dishes and pastries.
Arrived 2 hours prior to checkin, was told room was ready but couldn't checkin unless we paid a fee. After being on the road for six hours and the room being ready, an exception would have been nice especially for $170 per night. Staff was unprofessional. Upon final check in we were treated with different staff that was courteous and willing to go out of the way. The morning breakfast we found the front desk staff and family eating in the lobby and behind the desk while the hot food was cold and needing replacement. Building is dusty and need general upkeep.
The staff was great and the hotel is a historic place. Loved my room (suite). Had a fireplace and loved the hot springs hot tub
We were welcomed so kindly by Darla upon our arrival that our hotel experience began with fun, energy and joy. The hotel accommodations were unique and showed that extra effort was taken to make things just a step above the usual, including the furniture, fixtures and general comfort. The breakfast was also a cut above so many other hotels that I have stayed at, and it was clear that an element of care was included in each offering.
Called to book a small conference there later in the year. Over the phone the manager quoted me prices $200-300 OVER (!!!!) what the rates listed online were. Wot!!!???? Did she think I couldn't find prices online to compare to what she gave me verbally? Jeez......
I love the natural springs, and the location. Our room wasn't as clean as before when we stayed here the year before. Quite room and great location to go on walks. Internet works great, Heater was nice.
Nice clean room, but ......... Electrical outlets are faulty or inadequate for the room. A stand alone space heater was needed to warm up the room. The TV did not work the first night. We were told it was probably due to the cold weather! Didn't know satellite feeds could be affected bt cold. Next morning the TV miraculously worked even though it was colder than previous evening. Probably the system needed to be reset, but staff couldn't get the manager to come in (again probably because of cold weather). Since this is probably the best property to stay at in Thermopolis, suggest going to a private VBRO or such.
Stale cookie on floor, heat would not adjust above 68F, hair in sink and shower, excrement on toilet seat, remote worked only poorly. Why is there a 200 character minimum here? Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The entire staff was extremely friendly and made my stay away from home very enjoyable. ( I was a long term guest of almost 3 months) The breakfast every morning was good and the coffee was always HOT!! The staff treated me like family and being away from home that was a plus, especially since it was over holidays.
This hotel has been upgraded and really improved. The 24 hour outdoor hot tub with constantly renewing mineral water from the hot springs was relaxing and invigorating. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I enjoyed all interactions with them.
It was a lengthy check-in. Slow for those in the queue. After 4:00 pm. The 2nd floor room was filthy. The room was dusty, carpet was stained and the broken lamp pulls required tweezers to operate. The sheets were put on inside out. Checking if they were even clean after the condition of the room. The management was more concerned about painting their front doors a hideous blue than cleaning the broken walkways and cleaning the trash in the parking area. There was no operational ice machine for the stay. After obtaining ice from the kitchen area and observing the fly traps hanging in a cooking space, the continental breakfast was a No! The slippery deck from the hot tub and witnessing an injured woman after her fall was another special experience staying at this hotel. The pool was closed? It was 82 during our stay… The entire property needs some TLC. The housekeeping staff needs to at least know how to run a vacuum. Had to forage for towels each day from the housekeeping closet. Worst hotel experience in years!
We reserved our Plaza room on the BW website. Check in was a bit chaotic. presumably due to the universal plague of staff shortages. Plus, the Plaza has a soaking tub fed by water from the Hot Springs just inside the courtyard. The two flights of stairs to the upper level were dirty, and the top step which is part of the upper hall needs to be painted. Minus, our mattress was very soft, not what we expected. Minus, the breakfast was disappointing; the ham was beyond well done. Dinner at the One-Eyed Buffalo was fabulous.
The one bedroom suites are good for families. Breakfast is ok. The hotel and grounds are lovely. Don't bother trying to check in a minute early as you'll be unlikely to do it. If staying for more than a couple of days the lack of room service would be irritating.
The service was wonderful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The property is quiet and well maintained. It has a beautiful ambiance and was very relaxing. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you
The hotel is a historic landmark and in a lovely quiet park just on the edge of town. The building on two floors, built around the pool. The rooms are spacious - we had a small sitting room - and the bed was comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming and breakfast provided several choices. Would definitely stay there again.
We always try to find a best western when on a trip. We use a handicap room and it has always been great! We also think they have the best breakfast available and really like the ideal of cookies available on check-in. Some even have water available.
OK, this is not what you expect, even the photo was misleading, but it was really fun if you're adventuring. Thermopolis is an interesting town, don't try to get any food after 9pm there, but there are all these cool outcroppings of mineral deposits from the mineral springs there. They are close to the caldera of yellowstone, and this hotel has a spring fed hot tub, that does make the place smell of sulphur though. There are only a few rooms in this place, it looks like it might have been a school or a courthouse at some point, but apparently not, its always been a hotel and someone in the town cares a lot about it because it's really well kept up. You'll find a few things here and there that could be re-painted, fixed up or improved, but overall the rooms are very nice, roomy, fun place with plenty of character.
I love staying in historic hotels and the location of this one is fantastic with a short walk through the beautiful park to the (free) state bath house where you can soak in the mineral springs water. However, the hotel needs work to be sparkling clean and everything should work. I also found the bed uncomfortable, which should be the highest priority in a hotel. Will not be returning here.
I'm generous with my rating due to the friendliness of MOST not all of the staff. The hot tub was amazing and we used it several times. I booked a room on the first floor because of my very bad, painful knees, but was put on the second floor. When I asked about it I was told the only king suite available was on the second floor, ugh. He was very nice and offered to help us but that didn't help with my still needing to go up and down two flights of stairs. This property really needs a deep cleaning, lots of dirt and pebbles throughout the walkways, and a dust buildup in our room. Our sink drained so slowly we tried not to use it. We reported it but nothing was done. Breakfast was a little better than most hotel breakfasts.
There aren't many options in Thermopolis. The access to the park and having the natural spring on property was nice. Rooms are very very small and the walls are paper thin so you hear everything from other guests. Property needs updating.
Fantastic place to stay while visiting the worlds largest hot springs! 3 minutes from the pools! Don't be fooled by the outside of the building (not updated) - the inside has been very beautifully remodeled. Very comfortable handicap accessible suite. Nice breakfast and sitting area in the lobby. Beautiful hot tub fed by a natural hot spring. Very nice and personable staff. Highly recommend.
What a wonderful little gem. Much better than I was expecting. Staff were so friendly and helpful, rooms were comfortable and the breakfast - one of the best I've had in a small town. Who serves ham, sausage and bacon, along with two kinds of eggs plus lots more. My only regret - I forgot to pack my swimsuit to take advantage of the hot springs in their back yard.
This was a wonderful experience. The owners and staff were so friendly. The room was full of charm and clean. Breakfast was amazing, such a nice selection of food. We will definitely stay there again.
I did not have a great experience. For the cost, I thought the rooms would be nicer & better cleaned. There were cobwebs on some of the room light fixtures. Room door would not lock, so was moved to a worse room. Shower water pressure was low in 2nd floor room.
I stayed in Thermopolis last month for a few nights. My stay was highlighted by a wonderful man behind the desk that went above and beyond to help me with a transportation issue. Lee was friendly, helpful, and a fun character. He also gave us good information on a place for dinner. I witnessed him being very helpful to other guests as well. The room was nice, but the human connection was the highlight. Thank you Lee; I will choose this property again in the future because of you!
This was an overnight trip to the Thermopolis hot springs and I picked this hotel due to location and ratings. The hotel is beautiful and the location for long walks in Hot Springs Park cannot be beat. It was a pleasure to stay at a hotel that is not your typical "cookie cutter" hotel. This is an historical building, beautiful, and very well maintained. Staff was wonderful, breakfast tasty and plentiful, and the 24hr hot springs soaking spa was a delight. The only small downside was the $30 pet fee but our furry child was well treated by the staff so she felt it was well worth it.
Very welcoming hotel. Everyone's friendly, room was nice, breakfast was delicious. Location of hotel is very convenient as well! We had a king bed room and it was extremely spacious for a hotel room. Felt at home for the small amount of time we were there. Would recommend!
Thermopolis doesn't have many hotels this one looks like the best. The hotel is old but quaint a bit creaky but not bad. Clean and comfy. Nice man at the front desk. Very helpful. When heater wasn't working. We would stay there again.
We always love historic hotels and are prepared for the limitations of old properties. The Plaza Hotel and the Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis completely charmed us. The hotel is well maintained with charming room decor and the amenities of any modern hotel. The small size just adds to the coziness. The hotel is within the Hot Springs State Park, and the entire setting is just lovely. Not only are the grounds lovely, but there are many activities in walking distance, all family friendly as well as perfect for a romantic getaway.
The man checking us in wasn't the most friendly, only BW wher I haven't been thanked as a rewards member. The room could have been cleaner. Water pressure was pretty bad. Portable a/c unit was very loud, but preferable to not having one at all.
Visited in late Aug with temps in 90s. Room had portable AC unit that was noisy. Living area was hot and hard to cool due to size, despite a portable electric fan which I found n the closet. Ended up tripping the circuit breaker 3 times when I used the hair dryer. Historic property, but needs to be brought up to date to carry the Best Western brand standard.
Best continental breakfast in town! Very nice place to stay. Just a 2 minute drive to the state park, Star Plunge and The Teepee. The staff is always accommodating when we have visited. The hotel also has its own private soaking tub for hotel guests
Located in the state park it has it's own hot tub fed by the thermal springs. The rooms have a nice western feel and are very spacious - we had a king suite. The bathrooms are updated and everything was very clean. The breakfast included was very good. Overall a pleasant experience.
Hotel appeared to be pretty clean and I will say the staff I interacted with was very friendly. Beds are rocks and pillows are way too flat. Worst part was room AC wasn't working so they put on a portable unit that ran like a jet engine. First night slept without it on and never got under the sheet. Next night discovered a box fan in the closet. It wasn't much quieter, but it was better. Front room never cooled down. 2nd night they forgot to run the mineral water mixing valve off so springs tub wasn't hot. Chose a Brand hotel thinking it would be better, but not so much.
we stayed only one night but was very impressed - beautiful grounds and right next to the river - and so close to the Hot Springs Park with paths and beauty with quiet, peaceful atmosphere - we would stay again but pretty pricey
We stayed at this hotel because it was supposed to be one of the nicer places and near the hot springs. Well, it was near the hot springs, but the hotel stay was terrible. We got there and our room was over 100 degrees. Management said that they were having some trouble with the AC but would get a portable AC unit to your room shortly. After asking them every hour or so I had finally had enough and went back yet again to see if we could get that AC unit. He straight up said “Sorry I lied to you. I hate lying to customers. But you don't get one.” After a bit more pushing, I finally got him to give us a box fan from their kitchen. Finally with the box fan in the window, we were able to get our room all the way down to 88 degrees by 5 in the morning. As a bonus we got to get blasted with the smell the hot springs all night. It was the worst night me and my family had ever had in a hotel. On top of that. The pool was broken. The ladders were loose as well as the handrails. The longer I sat around the more broken stuff I saw. Most of the place was in disrepair. Both the pool and the hot springs were shut down while we were there because “the chemicals aren't right.” The only thing this place had going for it was there was a pretty good breakfast. A little more than your normal continental fair with stuff for biscuits and gravy and breakfast sandwiches. Letting management know all these issues they just said sorry. They didn't comp the room or even discount it. I sent a formal complaint to them through their website. They contacted me several weeks later saying sorry but too bad. They won't do anything but would give us a discount at our next stay. I asked them why would I ever stay at such a terrible place again? Nowhere near where I live, and it was awful. After that they have ignored me. Totally disappointed and frustrated. I urge you never to stay there and to let everyone you know that might that they will be sorely disappointed. And frankly screwed out of good money for a terrible stay. You'd do better to just pitch a tent in the park next to it where everyone let's their dogs go, get woken up in the middle of the might by sprinklers, then face a 50 dollar ticket for illegal camping. It would be a better stay and cheaper!
Great, historical hotel within the State Park. Very convenient location. Has a mineral fed hot spring on the property. Make sure you walk through the State Park and walk across the swinging bridge. Check out the Wyoming Bath House for your free 20 minute hot mineral bath.
Room was 80° with thermostat set on 68. Carpet was dirty. Pool was cloudy and needed to be skimmed. Left and got full refund since it was way too hot to sleep. I am skeptical of the good reviews here. Beware of this place. Do yourself a favor and look at some of the older reviews. The air conditioning problem is mentioned numerous times including 2022, 2021 and 2020. This is the worst hotel I've ever been to. It should be shut down until the HVAC is brought up to date
Very nice older building. There is no elevator. Breakfast choices were great. Pool and jacuzzi area were very nice. The location of the motel is very good as it is very close to several of the mineral pools that are offered, including a free state pool.
We stayed here on a roadtrip the night after visiting Mount Rushmore and the Devil's Tower--an absolutely gorgeous drive that feels like an activity in itself. We did not arrive in time to do the hot springs bathing houses, so we were really pleased that the hotel offered a hot spring experience in their courtyard. That was a nice treat, and soothed our sore muscles after a lot of hiking that morning. The hotel is located in a beautiful park right by all the bathing houses, and we enjoyed walking by the river after a nice Thai dinner downtown. We didn't stay here long, but it was a lovely oasis in the middle of our roadtrip. We made reservations during the Yellowstone closure, so our desk clerk was exhausted, making the service less prompt, but also we completely understood the stress he was under. And it did not diminish our experience at all.
Great location, great room, great property. Walking distance to the state park baths. Did not appear remotely "run down" as suggested by other reviewer. Slightly more expensive than nearby hotels but worth the price in my opinion.
Within walking distance (5 minutes) to public and private thermal pools, as well as having one on the premises. Our room was great, big, clean, comfortable, and the breakfast was filling. Hot and cold options, though a little light on fruit. Our room door wouldn't lock every time, but it was manageable. We wouldn't have traded the room anyway.
The best aspect of this hotel is its location. From the outside, it seems like a beautiful, even historic, hotel, but poor maintenance leaves you feeling tricked. The swimming pool was broken, other areas cried out for maintenance, and I left feeling ripped off.
No issues. Room was clean and very nice. Hotel is unique and historical. Staff was very nice and helpful. The hot tub is mineral spring fed. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is in the state park which was also very interesting. Would definitely stay here again.
This Best Western is uniquely located in a historical building that was originally used as apartments. It was one of the original buildings in Thermopolis! It's proximity to the beautiful local parks, Boysen River, local hot springs, dinosaur museum and town is just perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. The breakfast was terrific and had a lot of options. We felt like we were at a cute Bed and Breakfast rather than a Best Western! Our experience was great! I slept so well and the beds were really great. We had a corner spacious room that was perfect for our family of 4. The room was separated into two rooms actually which was a great surprise! One bedroom had a pull out couch and one with a king bed. It worked out so perfectly. The room faced the beautiful park with large mature trees and a playground. There are actually 2 playgrounds within walking distance. It was a lovely experience. Thank you!
The room needed to be a little more cleaner. It hadn't been vacuumed and the tables, coffee maker was not wiped down. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful and showed us where everything was. Overall it is a very nice place to stay and it was very quiet, just needed to be a little cleaner.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This hotel is a DISASTER!!! First of all, they are breaking state and federal laws by not having a working phone in our hotel room - serious safety issue! (yes, I could have used my cell, but there should be a back up). We found this out when our heat didn't work, and we tried to call down to get it fixed. It was 63 degrees when we went in. We turned up and decided to go sit in the tub (which wasn't very warm) and when we went back up to our room, it was 64 degrees (we had turned it up to 80 degrees when we went down). The other issue when we checked in, was that we were assigned a second-floor room....but no elevator! My 76 year old husband had to carry our suitcases up two levels of stairs! When I went down to complain, the person at the desk admitted they should have told us this and offered to help us up the stairs (at first they were pretty rude due to frustration, but calmed down after chatting about the situation). They also told us there were issues with the heat and that there were space heaters in the rooms to use - NOPE!! None in our room! This person admitted there were 8 rooms with this situation and offered to call the hotel across the street to see if they had a room (very nice of them). We ended up staying at this hotel for the night so we didn't have to lug our suitcases back down the stairs and move across the street. They said management and the owner (who lives in AZ and could care less) were aware of ALL these issues!! PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!! Stay across the street! We'll be filing a complaint against the owner and with Best Western. This hotel does A LOT of government contracting - so we hope they lose their ability to do that!
We checked out early due to the really uncomfortable mattresses. The staff was super friendly and kind, but unfortunately couldn't make up for the horrible restless nights sleep, even our kids were uncomfortable on their bed. However, if you like super firm, feel the springs in your side type of a mattress, you'll be fine! Again, the staff was really great, their customer service was on point, but you stay at a hotel for a good nights rest away from home, and we didn't get that on this trip.
We have been wanting to stay here for longtime just never had chance. Finally had opportunity and enjoyed everything about it! Had Grandkids and dog with us. Just appreciate the "old school" feel. Staff was so very pleasant to deal with. Loved our room, just everything! Pricing was a bit high but based on everything we just didn't care!
The closest place to the Springs. Most expensive as well. We were not as impressed with the cleanliness as we were with other stays there. The Staff was wonderful though and there was plenty to attend to the property. I am not trying to deter people from staying there . It just was not as clean as last time we visited. Common areas, the walk ways, our bath in particular.
We always stay this hotel as it is clean, the staff is extremely helpful and it assures us that rest will be welcomed after a time in the mineral pool! WE try to go hear to get away and meet friends at least one or two times per year. Worth the 250 mile plus drive one way!
We really enjoyed being here for 3 days and 2 nights. We rested and went sightseeing and at the end of the day to come back to our room and went to the pool at night. Yes we enjoyed every minute, the beds were nice and comfortable and plenty of pillows. Good nights rest for sure
We stayed in a handicap accessible king suite room and it was a big big room. Very nice rustic log furniture. Beautiful bathroom. The breakfast was outstanding! So many options something for everyone! Staff was very kind and friendly. They were helpful for anything we needed!
Got away with just my husband and we had a fabulous time. The staff was great and our room was awesome! The hot spring tub was perfect. We enjoyed the breakfast and met some great couples. One of our best trips!
We have stayed here many times in the past and will continue to visit Thermopolis, WY. We love coming to soak in the hot mineral water. We will definitely return here. We will recommend the Plaza to anyone we know who will be visiting Thermopolis.
Quiet rooms. On National Historic registry. Near state park hot springs. Hot spring spa pool at hotel: Small, but includes lift chair for disabilities. Clean pool. Hot and cold breakfast with varied options.
We spent one night at this Best Western while we were without pluming in our home for a couple of days. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. However, the beds are some of the most uncomfortable we have had at a hotel. Both my husband and I were up several times, and even our 3 year old commented on how "hard the bed was to sleep in." For the price it cost to stay there, and with being a Best Western, we expected pretty comfortable beds. As much as we enjoyed the other amenities the hotel offered, due to the uncomfortable beds we will likely not stay here again.
Easy to find, clean room, clean lobby, Friendly staffs. Good breakfast buffet. Good coffee, only thing the internet speed kind of slow. Close to the hot spring pool. Last year we stayed here, we didn't get the room with wood frame. This time we got it. We enjoyed our stay here. Thank you.
This hotel is in a nice park setting, a short walk from the hot springs. The room was more pleasantly decorated than most hotels in this class, with pretty blue tones, cute bathroom mirrors, among other touches. The only downside to our stay, and not the hotels' fault, is that the hot springs give off a slight, pungent, off odor, which permeates the hotel and the rooms. Also, the town itself we found a bit lackluster, it seems like most of the scenic and historic towns are up north or west. All in all, worth a stay if the stop is on your way.
Come for the hot springs! The water is sublime. The sightseeing beyond our wildest dreams. STAY AT THE BW PLAZA THERMOPOLIS! Everyone on the team was incredible. The most appealing and valued aspect of the stay was the staff and Annie, the manager. Truly 4+ star service…and that is the opinion of this 25 year international business traveler. Annie, and the team she has built and leads, is the magic sauce. Thank you to Annie and the entire BW Plaza Thermopolis Team!!! You can be very proud of the work you are doing and the joyous customer satisfaction you bring to your guests. Sincerely, David
They made the bed up without changing the sheets(so gross, pubic hairs, etc…on the sheets), there were used, dirty wash rags in the shower, no clean towels in the room and the door would not lock. Thank goodness for Karen at the front desk who cleaned my room/changed sheets for me. There were multiple overflowing carts with dirty towels/sheets just sitting outside with leaves in them, so they've obviously been there a while. The hot tub looked dirty, and after the disaster in my room I was not about to go into the hot tub. Not sure how this hotel received such good reviews, something has definitely changed. Beware!
Lovely atmosphere and rooms. Cozy and comfortable. Close to the various hot springs pool. Surrounded by beautiful scenery. A nice hot tub with hot springs flowing into it. Delicious free breakfast. Wonderful staff.
Wow! We were hesitant while driving here all the way from Missouri (with numerous stop overs). Some of these reviews had us concerned. Oh Wow! As soon as we checked in and got our first floor room, we were absolutely amazzed! It was like a suite, with a flatscreen in the front room, AND the bedroom. Our entire stay here was STELLAR! A+5 stars are not enough. Microwave and refrigerator certanly fine. Breakfast was fine, with numerous hot items. The hot tub was pracrtically right out our door. Swimming pool very clean. Cold though....getting to be the "shoulder" season, so no surprise there. The proximity to nearby attractions cannot be beat. If there is a negative thing to say, I would NOT know what it is. Amazing, friendly staff too. We did six nights in West Yellowstone, and four nights here. What a life memorizing trip!!! Thanks Best Western! You way exceeding our expectations! Randall and Luanne Dancing Sadie says: "Hey!" to you all!
The Plaza is still a nice place to stay, but has declined in quality since my last visit. The HVAC parts sitting in front of the reception desk, the pile of rocks in front of the front door, and the boxes stacked around the property are a very negative impression of the property. I liked my room on the 2nd floor very much. It had a small refrigerator, microwave and Keurig coffee maker. One should be aware that the rooms are not very soundproof because the building was originally a hospital. I would recommend a 2nd floor room on the outside of the building for the best views of the park. Breakfast is included in the room price. It was adequate, but nothing special. I have to give them a bit of a pass because COVID has made it difficult to get workers. The rooms were very clean even though not ready at check in time of 3:00pm.
We were pleasantly surprised that the best western was an old building on National Registry of Historic Buildings. It was great. Large room. Wonderful decor. Comfy king bed. Great location in the state park. You can walk to the river or hot springs. Quiet.
The room was clean and beautiful with fridge, Keurig coffee maker and microwave. Excellent service. Beautiful pool and awesome hot tub. One recommendation: curtain in the shower for privacy. Breakfast was good.
The desk clerk checked us in. She was very pleasant but failed to tell us that the AIR CONDITIONING was not working in our room. The room was 88 degrees! We got to our room and the windows were open with a box fan in one window. We also needed to get some work done, and the complimentary WIFI was not working in our room. I returned to the front desk to ask if we could change rooms. The clerk pretended to not know that the room did not have any AC. I guess the box fan appeared in the room by magic! She sent up the handy man, He pretended to fix the AC and ran out of the room. The AC did not work and the wifi never started working! The most offensive part of the issue was the staff pretending to not know that there were issues. If they had been honest and informed us of the real situation when we checked in, I may have been more understanding. Also, we paid a premium price for the room. The pool and hot tub were dirty and another guest was cleaning the pool!
We started off with my reservation being miscommunicated and our room did not have the hide-a-bed couch we needed. For additional $$ we were provided cushions for the floor. Then the power in the room kept tripping a breaker. This was with only one light on, but the air conditioner was running. This seem to happen every 2 hours through the night. The hotel maintenance did not really know how to fix it except to leave the breaker box unlocked so that we might flip it back on when needed. I might have been more forgiving if they had offered any compensation for a less than expected stay.
Historic hotel (in the park, clean and small with great service. We enjoyed our short stay there and if back in this aera we we stay here again. It has a spring fed jacuzzi and nice pool. Great parking right in front of hotel !
This is our 2nd time staying here four years apart and this hotel remains the gold standard that our entire family compares to when we go on trips. It is a small hotel located right on the grounds of the state park. The facilities are excellent, the pool and hot spring fed hot tub are awesome. The hotel does not have a large number of rooms so it doesn't feel crowded even when full. The breakfast is great, we love the cook. Overall this is a perfect place to spend several nights and explore the region.
NO GUEST LAUNDRY FACILITIES!!!! Host directed us to a laundromat on the other side of town. Last guest's left over food still in the refrigerator. No attempt to vacuum carpet was made. Trash on main coffee table. I asked the front desk if they had a shortage of room cleaners and they said "no", if this is normal cleanliness it is a shame. Area around and including hotel stinks due to a sulfer spring. The only reason I did not give them a "1" rating is because there were no bugs in the room. Breakfast was severely lacking unless bread is your thing. This place drags down the Best Western name. $180 for this let down.
We arrived (a group of 22 people) arround 3:00 pm) had to wait more than 2 hours to check in!!!!! The person on the reseption was NOT very friendly at all and so the manager. The room was not very clean (hair in the shower and sink). The light did not work, was just "blinking". As we asked for a discount because of all the delay, very nasty answer: you get already a group-discount!!!! As I mentioned we where already there in 2017 and we loved it very much, but this time....... was the last time, never again. They need to teach them how to talk to guests!!!!! P.S. we could not go in town and spend some time there, because we all had sportscars (Cobras) that means no top....... and it was raining, so we had to "hang arround" in the Lobby.
Thankfully, it was only one night in this BW in Thermopolis. Not sure I'd stay again, given there are other options, one which I'd stayed at before and liked (I like to try new). The pros: it was clean (the room) and modern inside, with rustic touches, and the staff was friendly and accommodating to our late arrival. The cons: The biggest con was the lousy bed. It was just DONE. If management responds and says they're newer, well, then they need to buy newer suitable for commercial needs, not some bargain basement bed that you could feel every spring in your back. Not good for anyone who needs their back in shape for adventure travel, something this part of Wyoming is known for. The second con is the pool: FREEZING. We were looking forward to a swim to relax after a long drive from Rapid City, but left after a short dip because the water was too cold. A bit ironic given the town of Thermopolis is known for HOT springs...eyeroll Lastly, the entrance was slightly creepy and uninviting when arriving at night. Despite the (small) BW sign in front (along the main road), the building itself looked like a circa 1920's bathhouse that looked closed for the evening (the town has public pools). While that Mediterranean architecture certainly holds a charm, we were uncertain that we arrived at the right place. The front of the hotel is lit, but the entrance of the building is on a side street which is dark and the hotel would do well to compensate for the darker surroundings. Believe me, arriving at 9:30 at night is much darker than the dusk-lit pix you can find online.
This is just one of two places to stay in the State Park, and their pool and hot tub are fed by the hot mineral water. This hotel is on the National Historical Registry - it was built over 100 years ago. So, don't expect a perfect, brand new building... it's a remodeled/restored property with unique attributes. They have water, coffee, tea and juices available around the clock int he breakfast area, and breakfast is served in the morning with proteins like eggs and breakfast meats. That helped us choose this hotel so we could get breakfast and get going in the morning. Friendly employees, super helpful. They greeted us every time we'd come back in the door.
This is a historic hotel that has some charm and a few issues. It was like sleeping at your grandma's house that needed a little work. The people were great, but there were some issues that could be addressed. We couldn't get the room below 77 degrees so slept on top of the comforter. The decor was similar to a log cabin vibe but the carpet had several large stains. The bathroom had been redone relatively recently and was pretty nice. But by no means is this like one of the other Best Westerns you may have stayed at. Thermopolis has only one other real hotel chain option so choices are very limited here. But we had some great meals at The Black Bear Cafe, One Eyed Buffalo and P6 Pizza.
no air conditioning, no offer to help or remedy the problem, temperature inthe 90's. the said would call maintenance but was obvious it never worked and never disclosed information. other clients complaining the same...
Unfortunately, this hotel is not what it was a few years ago. Rooms had very dirty floors, housekeeping never cleaned during the stay, employees seemed very burnt out and disinterested in their jobs and the AC was broken
We had two rooms at this property for 2 nights 9and they were far from cheap!!) Room 209 was good, a bit dusty but fine. Room 215's a/c was not working. The room never got cooler that 76 degrees witch is far too hot to sleep comfortably or at all. When asked for assistance the front desk staff said they would get right on it. No one did anything or even offer up a fan, i had to finally ask. If my family could have squeezed in room 209 we would have. It was miserable.
I really enjoyed my stay here. They have a hot springs fed hot tub that was lovely. They even had an accessibility lift for the tub for disabled people. The pool was closed, but the patio area had attractive furnishings and flowers. The suite I stayed in was comfortable and attractive and had a gas fireplace. Nice furnishings. Staff was very friendly. Location was excellent- right inside of the state park
Historic hotel located in Hot Springs State Park. Spacious rooms with beautiful views. Hot spring hot tub right in the hotel. Hotel is definitely historic, but overall well maintained. A nice hotel to visit the hot springs in Thermopolis.
Air conditioning doesn't work, 12' x 15' room - horrible. Very expensive, front desk attendant always gone, can't find help. Stay anywhere but here, even mom/pop places are better. Can't be any more specific, DON'T STAY HERE.
It is a nice historic place. But the HVAC squeaked like a brigade of industrious rats. The relaxing gas fireplace quivered blue and put out minimal heat. The landscape spotlight shone into the window like a UFO. But the bottom line: It was clean, comfortable and has its own little hot spring pool in the courtyard. The friendliness of everyone there was enjoyable.
This is a clean, comfortable hotel situated within the park. The rooms have been recently updated, the hot tub is popular with guests, and the staff is friendly and very helpful. When we needed to stay an additional night and most rooms were booked, staff was able to juggle things around so we could have a room with an upgrade. The location is excellent.
Get feeling of staying old west hotel. Interior and decor completely modern. The natural fed hot spring pool is fabulous, even in -15F like we had the morning we soaked. The Front Desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful both times I've stayed here. Highly recommended.
If you want to be kept up from the smell of this hotel & have nightmares for the rest of your life this is the hotel for you. Anybody know a good PTSD therapist? This is by far the worst excuse of a hotel I've ever seen. I travel to over 200 hotels a year & this is the worst experience I've had.
When I called to ask a question before booking the employee was very helpful and kind. When we arrived the gal at the front desk was super nice and helpful. Hotel was clean, rooms was clean and comfortable and everyone was friendly and welcoming!
This hotel is a special, lovely place, in a gorgeous area. Rooms are spacious, clean, and very private. Big windows in the rooms provide views of the grounds. Natural hot springs right in the courtyard of the hotel, and more within a 5 minute walk around the hotel.
The state park and hotel were clean and attractive with a couple of nice playgrounds for the kids. We could easily walk from the hotel to the park as well as star plunge. Bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the wooden furniture. Wish we could have stayed longer. The only negative was that my three year old was a little intimidated by the sulfur smell of the springs. Otherwise, Thermopolis was an attractive town and Wyoming was more beautiful than we expected.
Not everything works. I am now spending a night here. It is Monday night and I am paying top dollar for Thermopolis. So, first, I start looking for electrical outlets to plug in my electrical devices. I have to unplug the coffee maker and standing lamp to find an outlet to plug in my iPad Charger. Not the end of the world. When I was checking in, the “Breakfast” that was advertised is now a box with a piece of fruit, a muffin and a power bar. Yes, I understand that there is a pandemic. But truth in advertising is still in effect. So, then I go to turn on the TV. The remote does not work. I call the front desk. The night person comes up and tries to fix the situation. To no avail. His response is that he is going to have to call a technician to diagnose the problem. Look, I am spending one night, not moving in. I tell him to never mind. So to the management of this establishment. If you are going to charge top dollar for a room, then you need to make sure that everything works. You get one chance to make a first impression and in this case you failed. Will I ever stay at a Best Western again? Well if there are no Marriotts, Hyatts, Hiltons or any other national chains, I might consider it.
Just spent a night at the BW in Thermopolis. This classic hotel (built in 1918) seemed to be a new hotel in an old-timey body. The rooms were well appointed with classic furniture throughout. The bed was adequate with a nice TV. The bathroom was ample. The location was just inside the State Park. The room on the second floor (no elevator) was quiet. This hotel is within walking distance of the Big Horn River and several hot spring pools. I would return.
Very nice Hotel, very clean and nice rooms. Next to State Park and walking distance to Hot Springs and Hot Spring Pools and more. Enjoyed the Hotel and the State Park during our visit to Thermopolis, would stay again.
This hotel is a really good deal- excellent location right inside Hot Springs State Park and located on a beautiful river. The rooms are nice and the beds are comfortable. Walk outside of the hotel and you are in the middle of a park that has a bison viewing field, swinging bridge, picnic areas and much more. Located within minutes of nice restaurants. Staff needs a little work but tolerable. A must stay in Thermopolis.
We spent 5 nights here, and it was a fantastic place to move into for a week for our family of 4. The suite setup was perfect for us, with a pullout couch in the living room for our teen son. The history of the hotel is great and the aesthetic is very charming. The decor updates were really nice, especially the fixtures in the bathroom and the lighting. I LOVED that we could just walk right over to the state park and enjoy everything it has to offer. My ONLY problem was with the water pressure in the shower. It was not good, very light, and made it difficult to feel like our hair was fully rinsed. But that was the only thing that was not outstanding, and we look forward to returning someday.
This is a split review. Somr things were great about this hotel and other thongs were not. First, the room was very clean. Comfortable bed, big room and separate suite room with am extra tv. Sandy, the night clerk was also very nice and accommodating. Because of Covid, we did not want housekeeping to enter the room while we were there. The clerk gave us a hard time about exchanging towels and putting out garbage. We were told to out the garbage outside our door which we did in the morning. That night, it was still there. The hot tub was working the first night (which was great), but not after. All in all, thr good outweighed the bad.
The hotel was older but had been updated. We felt that it should have been cleaner. There was dust and dirt in the two rooms our family used. We were told the hotel pool was open and it wasn't opened of the whole season. The front desk staff wasn't friendly or informative at check in, but later she brought the pack n play to our room herself and seemed nicer at our second interaction.
location: pretty easy to find and get to price: fair surrounding area: full of eating and tourist options. several walking trail options rooms: nice and spacious amenities: hot spring fed hot tub!!! worth the money
It worked good as a stopping point before heading to the Tetons. Pool was closed, which sucked. Breakfast was available earlier than they had told us it would be which was an added bonus. Rooms were awesome, great bathroom.
Hotel was nice, staff was friendly. Percentage of guests wearing masks, and some staff. Breakfast bar closed due to covid. Provided to go bag with muffin, granola bar, apple and napkin. Self serve coffee and juice. Adjacent to State Park. Convenient.
Made my reservation 45 days before the trip. Got a call from hotel few days before my trip asking if I want to cancel my reservation since their AC system is not working. I told them I would check for an alternative before cancelling. She said that without AC it will be difficult to sleep in the room. Next day called to check for alternatives and found that my reservation was cancelled without my permission and that all the AC's were working fine in the hotel. Found that because the hotel overbooked they cancelled my reservation. Beware of this hotel.
We have stayed here before and have always enjoyed it. But the hotel reaction to COVID left us feeling very unsafe. Despite the hotel rules (posted by Tripadvisor) that staff are required to wear masks, not a single staff member that we saw had a mask. There was no plexiglass partition at the desk. The breakfast was far below that prescribed by Best Western during the crisis: only a granola bar and a piece of fruit, with juice and coffee. It is clear that the management is trying to profit from the crisis by essentially offering no breakfast, but not doing anything that might cost them money which would make people safer. Do Not Stay Here.
We had heard good things about this place but were really disappointed. Here is the list of issues: I don't think our room was cleaned well and don't think that our linens were changed from it's previous guests. We found blood on the fitted sheet and when I questioned whether the room was cleaned at all I was assured that one of the cleaning staff must have knicked their finger. I was hoping they would come in and completely clean the room instead they just changed the sheets on one bed. We had also found an empty water bottle in the room further raising suspicion of if the room was really cleaned. Our room smelled like a dirty cat box. I can't tell if every room smelled this way but the lobby did not. I understand that the hot spring leaves a general silver smell in the air, but this was different. The grab and go breakfast was pretty weak. We've been having a lot of the on this trip because of COVID-19 and this has been by far the worst. Just an apple and granola bar. Sinks didn't drain right. Meaning we had to avoid one of them. Pool was closed due to a broken filter. Wi-Fi didn't work, we were warned of this when we checked in.
This hotel is the best in Thermopolis and it is always a pleasant experience to stay here. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the staff goes beyond being pleasant. The breakfast is one of the best continental breakfast around.
I don't know what to say about this place that hasn't been said already. As someone who used to travel for work, I'd say that this hotel is one of the better hotels (save full-on luxury hotels) that I've stayed at. The rooms are nice, but the suites are where it's at. The wifi is good. The breakfast in the morning is a wonderful addition. But the location seals the deal. It's in the park and easy walking distance to the hot springs. Best of all, when the other places close, the Plaza has its own mineral hot spring for impromptu soaks. I've come here a couple of times both with and without children and cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Thermopolis.
From the historical brick exterior, to the fresh clean rooms, The Plaza is the destination of tourist wanting a great deal, and be located IN Hot Springs State park. The staff is friendly and willing to help out the traveler. The breakfast service has been revamped since last spring. The food items are fresh, and very well done. Kudos to ever put that change into effect. The suite we stayed in was lush, and VERY moderately priced. This hotel is a great example of why Best Western is a cut above.
Perfect place to stay when you go to Thermopolis for the hot springs! Very friendly staff and they are very accommodating with kids! Breakfast was good with lots of options!!!! I like the updates that they have made
My family stayed here in mid-December of last year. It is a very rustic and quaint place to stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was amazing. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
Great little hotel, perfectly outdated decor and vibe complimented by modern amenities. Very friendly staff and a better than average breakfast. The rooms are large and comfortable but not for those who need swank accommodations.
The rooms were very clean and nice, the pool is closed during winter which we were aware of, but the hot tub was amazing. Sara the staff was amazing. The hotel is very clean and within walking distance of the hot spring pools and restaurants downtown.
I stayed here recently as was very happy with my stay. The room was very clean and well appointed, and I particularly loved the rustic wooden bed and bathroom fittings. The weather had been a bit cooler so luckily the room had a good heater which kept it nice and cosy. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location near the park makes it a quiet spot. Recommend staying here.
Only stayed one night and most interactions were with the lady that checked us in. I used some gift cards for the stay and she took care of it at check-in so I could use rapid check out. We all enjoyed the hot tub which has water pumped in from the local springs. Standard but nice variety at breakfast.
We ended up in Thermopolis, Wy for a long overdue family trip. When our kids were in school, we would take one long weekend trip a year to the Hot Springs. On our first trip there (about 1998), we discovered the Plaza Hotel. It has been the only place I've stay every time I've gone there since, approximately 10 times. It had rooms that the 4 of us could stay in comfortably, the service was always above and beyond, the breakfasts are overboard, beds are comfy and love the spring water hot tub in the courtyard. At the time I made our reservation for October this year (9-1-2019), their website stated they were not pet friendly. However, by the time we got there, that policy had changed. Had we known that, we would have had our now adult kids stay there with us, as one has a dog that goes everywhere with her. I highly recommend this hotel.
Was a great stay at this motel, sorry I didn't stay at this fine vintage building the motel is located in during my past stays in Thermopolis. I gave it a try this go around / visit and was not disappointed in the lodging of the building. If you are one who is somewhat squeamish in smelling a slight mineral springs smell in the inner courtyard, don't stay here and do not complain about the unique feature of a hot tub supplied with water from the near by hot springs.
There's no doubt this is an attactive hotel, beautfully decorated and an attractive setting, unfortunately our stay here was memorable for all the wrong reasons. A notable feature of staying at USA hotels are the large, often enormous beds or sometimes two but this was the exception. The room itself was just four paces wide and the bed just 53 inches wide! I asked if we could change rooms but was told somewhat brusquely that as we had booked via an agent (the largest in the UK and surely common practice) we were not allowed to change rooms + furthermore, would not earn Best Western Reward points either; we came across this later at other Best Western hotels, which suggests to me there's someting very wrong with the T&Cs of their reward scheme. Looking at the hotel floor plan it's clear there were other small rooms like ours, so if you're going to stay here check beforehand and if you want a double room you're not going to get a a single room masquerading as a double like us.
Our stay at the BW in Thermopolis was nice. We booked a suite with a fireplace and we were surprised at how large of a space it was. Nicely decorated, historic building, friendly employees. This was a driving through one night stay but we'll be going back to do some fishing and definitely be staying there again for longer.
This historic hotel in Hot Springs State Park is a comfortable and relaxing experience. I work in the area and often stay here a few nights a month. It is a great way to end a hard day's work soaking in the hot springs and relaxing by a warm fireplace. I highly recommend The Plaza to anyone wanting some peace and relaxation in the healing waters.
We are delighted with the fabulous hotel. The rooms are huge. We have a lounge with a queen sofa bed and a bedroom with a king bed. The lounge has a fire which comes on at a press of a button and makes the room look rustic especially with the solid wooden furniture. The towels and bedclothes are changed daily if you want. The outside hot tub, fed by natural hot mineral springs, is so relaxing and the tub is cleaned every two days. The reception staff are so pleasant and never get fed up with me asking for towels for the hot tub. They always have time to listen to you and make you feel special. Annie, who makes all the food for breakfast, is brilliant. She creates different, delicious hot courses each morning and bakes the nicest cookies. She makes so many of them that you don't have to worry about them all disappearing if you are late back. Bert cleans the room as soon as you request it and does it thoroughly. There was a hand written card from Rayney thanking me for staying in the hotel, which I thought was a lovely personal touch. I will definitely return here the next time we visit Thermopolis.
Cleanliness: Very clean Bed Quality: A little soft Reception friendliness/treats: cookies in lobby Furnishing Quality: Rustic with glorious solid wood four poster beds. Internet: Above average Elevator: No Noise level: average, if people are in the thermal bath talking loudly you can hear them - just a matter of acoustics. Breakfast: Good coffee and fun quiches. Liked the sausage gravy Other: A thermal spa in addition to the pool. Spa open 24 hours buts be quiet after 2300. This hotel was built over 100 years ago!!
Historic building, comfortable rooms, nice people. Also, you can soak in natural hot springs right in their courtyard, not having to go to the state park. We loved our stay here. In such a remote town, we were surprised to find such a quality hotel.
The room was very clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the microwave and refrigerator met our needs . The staff was excellent and very helpful always pleasant . We loved the natural mineral hot tub . We will definitely stay there again and refer to friends .
The room was very nice with plenty of space. We loved the Modern decor. The Breakfast service was over the top, especially the customer service of the breakfast attendant. She was making sure everyone had plenty of what they wanted.
The hot springs and dinosaur fossil beds attracted us to the town so the Best Western was the ideal location. The area is quiet and within walking distance across the park to the hot springs. The hotel has attractive features and our room was spacious and comfortable. The small outside pool and hot tub is open until late. There was a reasonable breakfast menu with something for all the family. I would definitely go there again.
This is a wonderful town to visit. The Dinosauer Museum is an amazing experience. It would be nice if restaurants and motels and hotels supported tourism better. The restauant choices are few and far between with no more then about 10 choices. The Best Western was rated the highest but was also far more expensive and not worth it.
Our group booked two rooms here in early August and enjoyed a quiet night in little Thermopolis. The rooms are adequate and large, but the floor, to be expected in a 100-year-old building, is very creaky. And the AC in one room consisted of a portable floor unit that was noisy and took up a lot of space. The worst part was that there is no elevator, and, as other reviewers have mentioned, no help was offered to reach our second floor rooms. We managed, but had we been aware of this, we would probably have booked another property as one of our number is partially disabled. We understand the limitations placed on historic buildings, but perhaps Best Western should feature more prominently on its website that this hotel does not have an elevator.
I have a TV that didn't work, no hot water and an air conditioner that worked off and on. They said they would discount the room due to my issues, and then didn't when I checked out. Usually I am pleased with this location, definitely not happy this time around.
This building was built in 1918, but everything inside in new, modern and convenient. We had a separate large living room, plus the king bed bedroom. We didn't bother to go to breakfast because the room was so comfortable. I had the cereal I like with me, so we hung around in the room. We hated to leave. This is someplace to stay for a few days, enjoy the park and the hot springs.
Be aware! No stairs and for us older folks it's difficult. No help offered. Request first floor. Nice private mineral tub. Located walking distance to public mineral pools. A Historic hotel with historic amenities. The walking trails are close by and interesting.
Nice property, rooms was very cool with log style furniture. In a nice location, very near the Big Horn River, Swinging Bridge and a park with thermal springs. Ironically despite being what they call the worlds largest hot springs, with hot water everywhere, the hot water ran out at the hotel at 9am. We had unpleasant cold showers. I look for only two things at a hotel, a comfortable bed and a hot shower, Best Western couldn't quite handle that. So if you stay here, you have to get up early if you want a hot shower. One nice thing is that every hotel I have ever been at shuts down their continental breakfast and clears out everything at breakfast closing time. This hotel left all the food and beverages out late and we had a nice breakfast an hour after it had technically closed. The hotel staff was fine with us having a late breakfast. That was really nice. So other than the cold shower, this is a great hotel.
This grand old hotel is in the Hot Springs State Park and is on the National Register. Our room was huge and decorated in rustic style. The bathroom was very large and very clean. Be advised there is no elevator so luggage has to carried up a double flight of stairs to access a 2nd floor room. My other issue is that the breakfast area is to small to accommodate much of a crowd. We had to end up eating on chairs by the front desk with no table, also the attendant seemed a bit overwhelmed
The service at this hotel was fantastic. The person at the front desk was very pleasant and extremely helpful! The hot tub/spa was natural hot mineral water and open to adults 24 hours, which was really nice. Also, the fact that the hotel is right in the park is a huge plus. Didn't have to really drive anywhere to enjoy the park! There were just a couple of physical issues - the room door stuck and slammed, some doors were a little sticky and they seemed to have some trouble keeping the pools clean of bugs and leaves (the filters weren't always on, which might have helped). But overall, this was a great hotel and I would definitely stay again!
We stayed here for one night on a 3 week road trip from Denver to Yellowstone and the Black Hills and really liked this refurbished historic hotel with it's interesting room layout. Right by the side of Hot Springs State Park. We visited the Wyoming Dinosaur Centre, which was excellent, and had a really nice Thai meal at the Bangkok Thai restaurant in town. The pool was open in the evening but not the morning. Soya milk available at breakfast. Thank you.
This historical, but totally updated, hotel is a unique and wonderful. It has a fresh water pool and a spa pool fed from the mineral springs. The family suites are two rooms separated by a door and have room for suitcases, a couple kids on the floor and you can still walk around. The hot breakfast is tasty and plentiful. The hotel is located in the Hot Springs State Park. The staff is competent and very helpful.
We were very happy with this hotel. The building is on the historic register and our room (a corner king) was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated, with park views out all 5 windows. Our room had a small fridge and microwave. There is a free hot breakfast that is all right. The mineral hot tub piped in from the hot springs was great. It does smell a bit but I did not find it overpowering and that's what you get with a natural hot spring. People used to come to this hotel (in a prior incarnation) to take a cure for tuberculosis. Having just traveled from the crowds at Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, we appreciated how relatively unspoiled this whole place is. We drove through Hot Springs State Park and it is unbelievably beautiful and we were alone for miles. The hotel seems very well run. I was a little worried about a Best Western but it was great. Highly recommend.
This building is very old you heard everything from the other guests, ie showers, conversations, door closing seemed like they were slammed everytime. Woke up many times during the night. Wi-fi very slow could not even watch a video.
We arrived late but the check-in was quick and efficient, The room was nice size and clean. Really enjoyed the ability to just leave our room and take a walk in the park. The staff was all very friendly. Breakfast is just okay.
The room is updated, clean, towels are NICE, pool and hot spring water jacuzzi easily accessible. The breakfast had a good variety. This is the nicest Best Western I have every stayed in and excellent values for the price.
We loved almost everything about our stay, except the smell coming from the hot spring/hot tub. While originally excited about using it, the smell actually kept us away. Also, the smell permeated our room such that it was even difficult to sleep. We have never used a hot spring, and I've read in these reviews that the smell is part of it; unfortunately, it was a deal breaker for us.
We really enjoy the get away for the Hot Spring Spa at this hotel. It is a must stay if you are on the way to Tetons or Yellowstone! The rooms are newly decorated and very nice walk in showers. The main pool is 5 foot deep so children have great fun in it. The hot spring spa may be too hot for young children. Temperature is great at 104 most times. Always ask the current temp before getting in. Any problems or questions you have are taken care of immediately. Great internet and TV has many channels to choose from. Each 2 or 3 rooms are set in little alcoves or sections with one door to enter the main walkway to the rooms. So it is very quiet and beds are great. Pillows not so much. So if you are debating about traveling with your pillow--take it! We love coming here for a quick get away with friends at least once a year.
Stay here in Thermopolis! Great little place. Historic building preserving original charm, but fresh and beautiful inside! We had a single room (1 bed) and it was very small - but had everything we needed! Desk, TV, comfortable bed and bedding w nice bathroom. Great seating are next to lobby. Wonderful help at the desk. Nice complimentary breakfast w a great dining area. Lovely setting in the park. (Skip the restaurant across the street.) We would love to stay again.
We stayed in town to see my MIL that was in an assisted living center. The outside made you ponder, and several ladies asked what we thought before they unloaded their luggage. The rooms were nice and the bathroom was spectacular! We walked across the street to the Safari Club for dinner(that's another review ) and walked the beautiful Hot Springs Park and enjoyed the evening. Will return!!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay on this hotel. Dominick, at the front desk, was extremely helpful and courteous while I was checking in. I booked one of the suites and it was humongous! I stayed for two nights and got great sleep in the comfy bed, and everything was quite. The bathroom was also large and had great water pressure. This town is really cool, and I highly recommend visiting Thermopolis and staying in this hotel.
Extremely pleasant and friendly, from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff. Our room was nicely updated, clean and quite large. Lobby area was also very nice. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
I stayed here on the last night of a two-week trip. After many nights in nice, but undistinguished hotels, I stayed at this hotel in Thermopolis. The unassuming exterior did not prepare me for the charm and comfort of my room. The log furniture, the modern bathroom and the in-room amenities combined to make this the most comfortable, restful stay of my entire trip. It was the cleanest, most meticulously maintained room I have had in recent memory. The layout of the 100 year-old building adds privacy and solitude to the rooms because there are no long hallways with noisy guests transiting. The staff was very friendly.
This hotel property sits in the State Park right on the edge of downtown Thermopolis. It was built in 1918 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has real charm and a hot spring hot tub open 24 hours. The room are very comfortable and features a log bed, with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dining table and chairs. Breakfast is included in the room cost. The state park and this whole community is worth spending time in. Downtown is a short walk to cool one of a kind shops and excellent dining. Bring your swimsuit.
We were re-routed after I-25 was closed and ended up in Thermopolis, Wyoming. We called this hotel from the road and they were so kind. Got us a couple of rooms at a great rate. It is a small building built in 1918 as apartments and now beautifully made into a hotel. the rooms are large, clean with nice amenities and cute touches by housekeeping. The pool was closed, the hot tub is from the natural hot springs so it is stinky but you get used to it. It was also too hot to get in but no big deal for me. I stuck my feet in and that was enough. The breakfast has some different choices and the food is as expected at free breakfast hotels. The decaf coffee was cold, I'm guessing it was left over from the night before. The coffee in the room was good though. The bottom line and the reason I gave it five stars is the location (around the park and near the hot springs pools), the cleanliness, the nice rooms and the great staff. I would stay here again, in fact I might make it a destination. It took us longer to get home because of the interstate closure but I'm glad we got to visit this area.
Great place to stay. Loved every minute of it expect the temp in our room never rose about 70. Otherwise great stay would totally stay here again. Great and friendly staff and clean room. Even left a pair of earrings and they told me they would send to me.
The hotel is the nicest place to stay in Thermopolis. It's right next to the hot springs and has nice areas to walk in. Be sure to ask for an upstairs room. I stay here quite a bit and ended up with a room downstairs the last time. The noise from the room upstairs woke me up a lot during the night. The floor would squeak and groan everytime they rolled over in bed. If they happened to walk across the floor, you heard every footstep. It meant a very unsettling night for me. I will always ask for an upstairs room when I stay her again; just realize there is no elevator for those with mobility issues.
We came to enjoy local attractions, outside of the hotel and weren't planning to spend any time in the hotel, except to sleep. We ended up enjoying the natural hot springs hot tub and the free breakfast and they were both great!
The mineral hot tub is amazing! Room had plenty of sitting space. Comfortable bed, good size shower and cute decor. Enjoyed the hot tub even while there was snow on the ground :). Overall a great get away and relaxing time.
It was a very nice stay We walked around town & soak in the hot tub.. we had dinner at the Thai restaurant it was yummy just like always.. we enjoyed our fireplace in our room very much. we will be back again!
We were greeted by a very friendly young man. The check in was quick and we enjoyed some warm chocolate chunk cookies on our way up to our room. The room was clean and cozy. The hot springs hot tub was a wonderful surprise. We will definitel7y be back!
The hotel was very clean and nice and quiet. Continental breakfast really good lots of choices. The hotel is walking distance to the hot springs and attractions. There is also a hot tub that is fed by the hot springs. This will be my go to place to stay in Thermopolis.
We love this hotel and the staff. They are attentive and the hire is clean. The breakfast in the morning is great as well as the after hours amenties. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel and we will be back again!
We stayed in a King Suite, the bed was nice and the room was fairly private. The layout was pretty cool with only 2 rooms sharing a hall. The hot spring heated hot tub looks amazing but I wasn't able to use it this time. Breakfast was good and internet was good. Staff was very friendly.
No elevator so if you're on the second floor you have to haul it up outside stairs in an inner courtyard. Hot tub is fed from the natural hot Springs so that's nice. They can't seem to keep it regulated very well. One day 100 degrees the next day it was closed for a few hours because it was 107? I would have jumped in 2 or 3 times a day but with their manual adjustments I used it once a day. Nice place though. I will stay their again.
Property was very nice inside and out. Location was in a park area close to the hot springs (Hotel had the mineral water piped into it's hot tub). Rooms were clean, comfortable, and a very good value.
If you're looking for a unique hotel that's not like the rest, this is an enjoyable place to stay. The suites with the fireplace are really nice in the winter and having the living room area makes it a relaxing experience and a good place to stay in bad weather. Plus the hot pool isn't far away from any of the rooms.. This isn't some swanky resort, but a pleasant place to stay in a small town in central Wyoming. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and the log furniture adds charm and a unique feel to the place. We've been coming here for years and it's a nice getaway location for a couple of days. Breakfast has a lot of choices. Quality isn't amazing, but good enough for a free breakfast and there is something for everyone. We've been here in the summer and winter--both fun!
We really enjoyed our stay at BW Thermopolis! The 24 hour hot springs spa was great and the breakfast was pretty good -- the homemade? quiche was outstanding! The room was cozy and the exterior of the hotel is so different; a mix of antique and modern.
We stayed at this very unique hotel because of the history and because we are members of their rewards program. The hotel was awesome, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The only downside was the nasty breakfast, common in a lot of Best Western Hotels. Fake eggs, cold and under cooked sausage and potatoes without any other real choices. There were cereal and oatmeal packages as well as fake yogurt.
My wife and I stayed here for 1 night on route from Denver to Yellowstone (via Cody). The room was larger than expected (lounge and bedroom) and had everything we needed although being a corner room, was a little dark. We didn't get much opportunity to use the facilities but we did enjoy a good choice of complimentary breakfast in the morning. We would recommend Thermopolis for people doing a similar journey in future (a larger and perhaps more "modern" town than some eariler in the journey) and thus would also recommend this hotel, which was also reasonably priced.
We were traveling with another couple to Yellowstone and stopped here for the evening. Staff at check in were very courteous and friendly and recommended a good brew pub for dinner. We had a 2 room suite - very clean. It also had a mineral hot tub that was free to use as well. Complete breakfast buffet as well. Good rates and nice little town.
This is a wonderful hotel with old time elegance; we had a great rate and were upgraded to a king suite! Very clean; lots of room and great patio area with hot tubs. The only negative I can say is that the breakfast was not the greatest offerings. They were out of many things and they had not been refilled; we weren't there that late. But other than that I would highly recommend this place!
Best place to stay in the state park. This historic building has been updated and the staff makes sure everyone feels comfortable and happy with their accommodations. Hot tub is open 24-7 and pool is open until 10:00 which is perfect after a day filled with sightseeing. It has a funky feel to it and is very family friendly. There are "wings" so if you have a couple of people in your group you can request rooms on the same wing. Be sure to visit nearby Kirby for a tour and taste of Wyoming Whiskey.
Absolutely a must do stop on way to Tetons or southern Wyoming. This hotel was not only historic but came with a mineral hot tub to boot! We loved its quaintness and authenticity to the region we were in. A park with mineral springs and free pools within walking distance. I want to return!!!
We stayed at this hotel in aug 2017 while going to the dinosaur museum to dig for a day. We had a suite with fireplace which was wonderful for two adults, two teens. The historic hotel was charming, very close drive to the Dino museum and right in the hot springs park so you could walk and see the sites. You could drive through a buffalo farm on the hot springs park and the hot springs pools are also in walking distance. Food was an issue, make sure you have plans for meals outside the hotel. Would stay here again, it was lovely. Great location.
Even friends and family will say I am a hotel snob. As a travel advisor it is my job to check out hotels I stay in as a potential hotel for clients. The Plaza Hotel a Best Western Plus hotel is what all hotels should strive for. This is a 3 star hotel that has 5 star service and is white glove clean. It looks as though it was recently renovated and is located in Hot Springs state park in Thermopolis. It has a nice breakfast included in the price. Since it was summer it did have a portable AC unit in the room that took up a little space. For someone that prefers 5 star hotels I would stay here again and have no problem sending clients there. Good job Plaza hotel.
Last October, 1 member of our family made reservations for 4 identical rooms at the Plaza for a family reunion. Harley Miramontes, the hotel manager, honored the price quoted for 3 of the rooms but would not honor the price on the 4th room. He insisted that the price on that identical room was $40 more expensive per night. When we asked him to honor the price we were quoted, he got extremely belligerent, hostile, and was extremely rude. He told us that if we did not leave his hotel immediately he would call the sheriff. When we told him that we knew the sheriff quite well, he got furious and stormed off. All 10 of us left immediately.
This is a very small town with limited options, and we were thrilled to stay in such a historic building, right in the state park. We walked to the hot springs and river at night and they have actual (very hot) mineral spring water in the whirlpool. The manager at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful- above and beyond the norm. He fixed our tv within 5 minutes of our call. We had a two room suite and I was amazed that there was zero noise from outside, as there was quite a large, loud group outside the pool. The rain shower head in the bathroom was amazing! The tv remotes were in cleaning sleeves, and the rooms were spotless. Breakfast included quiche slices, in addition to standard offerings. The decor appears to be transitioning over to a more modern look with grays (and less of the pine furniture), which will be a good change. Compared with the shabby, standard appearing neighbor hotel across the street, this was the right choice for us.
Riding our motorcycle through Wyoming we decided to stop here. Room, amenities and all that were to be expected for best western, good. What made this place stand out was Harley the general manager was amazing. He's knowledgeable, friendly, and goes above and beyond.
An excellent place for one night stop. Within reach of east yellowstone. Excellent staff and helped us navigate to dinner in town. There were roadworks around the entrance so had to get to back entrance. Certainly within walkin distance of town but excellent room n nice quiet location. Didnt see a lift anywhere for 2nd floor tho.
We stopped in Thermopolis on a whim while on our way to Yellowstone. The young man working the front desk gave us a great deal on 2 rooms. We weren't expecting that since it was last minute. Rooms were clean and spacious. Our a/c wasn't working properly but an employee was sent up immediately & had it fixed within minutes! The area is beautiful & we enjoyed walking all around the hot springs. Breakfast was very good & Daniel gave us great tips & info for our first visit to Yellowstone. He even gave us sunscreen after hearing us talking about finding a store to buy some! Awesome customer service!
We booked the place across the street and were so disappointed we planned to move on and skip Thermopolis. One quick conversation with Dominick at the desk here and we knew we found the right place. It's historic, has a great pool and hot tub courtyard, and the room is wonderful. It costs a little more but is certainly worth it.
The rooms are fantastic, clean and roomy. Service is great and its the closets place in the park to use the facilities. Easy walking distance to the swimming pools with the river right in front of the place. Extremely beautiful place to stay.
What a great find. We loved every minute of our stay. Wonderful environment; at the edge of the Big Horn River, the well maintained lawns of the adjoining park and the on-site hot spring fed spa. Staff was great and always helpful. The building, though 100 years old, has be so tastefully remodeled. Clean room, comfortable bedding. We were in room 220, a suite, and would recommend it to anyone.
Unique and historic hotel, updated, and very friendly and helpful staff. We did not use the pool but it looked very nice. Bonus is close walking distance to Hot Springs SP. Breakfast in AM had good selections.
Stayed here on the way to Yellowstone, for one night only. Rooms were as expected. Spacious. Comfortable and clean. Spa plunge pool is an interesting if pungent addition. Breakfast was as expected. However, hats off to the guy on reception who delivered great directions and tips with an unexpectedly engaging sense of humour.
Out of all the hotels we stayed at during our 10 day road trip, incuding several Best Western Hotels. this one was the best. The breakfast was by far superior also and the price definitely reasonable.
Nicely remodeled rooms. Nice tv, and the bed was comfortable. I remember in the past hearing the neighbors showers but it is old. Have relaxing rocking chairs on the porch. Enjoyed the beautiful park and river that this hotel is adjacent to. . The natural hot springs and pool at the hotel felt wonderful.
We always try to stay here when in Thermop, for the comfort of the rooms and the hot spring hot tub. Very comfortable beds still. The only annoyance is the number of things I have to cover at night for the bright lights that shine all over the room from various plugged in things. And some of the curtains let in too much light so we wedge stuff on the sills to hold back the blinds. The staff is friendly, but apparently has high turnover which is sad. Wyoming has been hit by various troubles which are apparent in the staff and also in the number of restaurant closures. Visit Thermop, it's great. So much to do between soaking, dinosaur fossils, the river, the canyon, and the good restaurants in town. Love it always.
We didn't know what to expect when we pulled up because the hotel is defiantly historic. Sometimes historic hotels can feel dated on the inside- especially when they have a reasonable price like this one. We were so pleased to see that the rooms had been updated with beautiful log furniture and modern bathrooms though. The rooms were HUGE, everything was clean and the staff was lovely. The location in the state park made it easy for us to walk around and access amenities without moving our car. Wish we'd stayed for more than one night. The pool and hot tub are both heated with hot spring water as a great added bonus.
We came for a family trip, and enjoyed our stay! The rooms were surprisingly quiet. Sara at the front desk was friendly and accommodating- she definitely made our stay that much better. We were surprised to learn that the building was built in 1918, it was very sturdy, well renovated, clean and well kept.
This is such an interesting hotel, as it has a history and has a mineral water hot tub. The room was well-equipped and clean. The breakfast was very good. When we checked-in we were offered chocolate chip cookies. The clerk was quite friendly and made us feel welcomed.
The rooms are very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The hotel staff are very kind and enjoyable. It is walking distance to the park and very family friendly. This will be the only hotel I stay at in Thermopolis.
Solid hotel. Nothing Fancy. Breakfast is okay for a continental style. Hot tub is nice but small. Clean rooms and fairly quiet. Good location to mid-town restaurants and stores. A bit expensive for what you get, but best place in town.
We book a one night stay here so we could enjoy the hot springs and Thermopolis. What a great location where you can walk through the park to the springs. The hotel is nicely updated with old historic charm and the rooms are filled with windows. There is an outside pool and a natural spring hot tub that's open year round. Free chocolate chip cookies and water serviced all day and a free hot breakfast in the morning. The bottom floor can get a little noisy with people above you so book a room one second floor.
This is a cleverly redesigned apartment building with a courtyard housing a pool and hot tub with water from the local hot springs. The entire staff was friendly and helpful, there's a great breakfast to start the day and I really enjoyed the overall comfort of the room and space.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We came to Thermopolis for a quick family get away at the end of our spring break. The rooms were very clean. The complimentary breakfast met everyone's needs. The location is very good for partaking in activities in Thermopolis. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We enjoyed a three day/night stay at the Thermopolis Best Western Plus motel recently. It is within a couple blocks of the State Park natural mineral springs spa, However, we spent most of our stay in the natural spring spa located at the Best Western which is the only motel with this luxury. We did take advantage of the free State Park spa but found it was more private from our motel accommodations to take advantage of their spa, privacy, 24 hour availability, and spa monitored 24/7 for consistent 104 degree temps plus the hot breakfast. Couldn't ask for more.
Cool building, friendly staff, loved that the hot tub is filled with the water from the hot springs. Very enjoyable stay. There are lights that face the building, recommend lowering the shades before bed or room will be very bright. Quick easy walk in the morning to see the hot springs, Its the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Thermopolis Wy.
I was booked into this hotel on business and did not expect anything special. Instead I found this historic facility built in the late 1800s located in a small state park with natural mineral hot springs. Rustic decor, comfortable and immaculate room, and delightful staff. It made my business trip into a mini vacation . I hope to return in the future.
Rooms are tiny and not clean, hairs in shower, you can literally touch each wall in the living room area it is so narrow, staff was ok, spiders on the bed (which was not comfortable) not worth the money at all. We stayed at three Best Westerns the month of December 2017 and this one by far was the worst. We stayed in the same "room type" at each Best Western and this was the smallest and dirtiest and was $50 more than the other two. I would skip this one.
The rooms are large and well furnished. The bathrooms great. Breakfast hot and delicious. Their coffee is really good. It's close to the river walk so you can meander through this scenic area without driving. We enjoyed the hot spring spa. Not sure how it is during a more crowded season. Staff is very accommodating.
This is a "Plus" hotel and although I don't stay in Best Westerns frequently, I'm pretty sure it's much nicer than most. My wife is from Thermopolis so I've been there many times. It's by far the best in the area. The staff is very friendly. It's located right between beautiful Hot Springs State Park and the Wind River. The mineral springs hot tub and pool are both very clean as is the entire property. The rooms are all updated with nice showers and other fixtures/furnishings. Wi-fi works great and the daily breakfast had a really good egg casserole plus many other buffet items. Definitely the place to stay in Thermop.
We just happened upon Thermopolis in our travels, and decided a hot mineral springs hotel would be a lovely place to stay over Christmas. The historic hotel was very well kept up, had a modern bathroom, a large room with comfortable furniture. The king size bed was wonderful! We had the outdoor hot mineral water tub to ourselves every time. Divine! Breakfast was better than a lot of best westerns we've stayed in. It's set in a state park with thermal springs everywhere, groomed hiking trails. Loved it!
Very relaxing. The staff is top of the line, from the house keepers to kitchen staff. Front desk staff very friendly and professional. The weather was snowy and cold, but the hot springs water was nice and hot
This historic hotel is a wonderful place to stay and relax. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly; they go above and beyond to provide excellent service to their guests. Our favorite activity is soaking in the hot spring-fed hot tub/pool. We highly recommend this hotel!
Thermopolis is a hidden treasure and this Best Western is definitely a gem. Clean, comfortable and friendly. The mineral hot tub adds great relaxation in the central courtyard of the hotel. The warmth of the hot springs is embedded in the hotel.
I love going to Thermopolis for a quick, relaxing getaway. The slightly more expensive accommodations at the Best Western are well worth it! The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, the 24 hour hot springs pool is lovely year-round, and the breakfast even included a yummy veggie quiche. I can't say enough good things about this facility!
At the time of our reservation, Chellidy went above and beyond to accommodate us with our room request, thank you so much for that, too bad we didn't get to meet you but we hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. At check-out Harley pointed out some interesting things to see and do in Thermopolis and Cody, very professional and pleasant front desk person. 24/7 mineral hot tub is a wonderful treat. This Hotel is allowed to access the wonderful mineral spring's waters with over 27 different minerals. This stay was a beautiful mix of healing waters, and pure relaxation, ohh and it was so clean, housekeepers even left a hand written note in our room. Thank you, thank you, and thank you! We will be back.
We really enjoyed our overnight stay here. The staff member who checked us in, Harley, was really friendly and helpful. Our room on the second floor was lovely, which a separate seating area with sofa, microwave, tea/coffee facilities, fireplace and TV. We had a good night's sleep, and appreciated being able to control the room temperature. There's no restaurant, but it's a short trip into the town centre to find something to eat, so it wasn't too bad. There's a marvellous free breakfast - it was so nice to see soya milk in the fridge! - and free tea, coffee and cookies in the lobby during the day. The hotel is ideally located if you're looking to visit the State Park and hot springs. Really can't complain at all, it's a great hotel and I'd definitely stay there again next time I'm in the area!
After a long drive from Fort Collins we really enjoyed relaxing in the Hot Tub. We had a nicely furnished King Room on the second floor, it was also comfy and quiet. There didn't appear to be much choice of eateries within walking distance and we were told that places stop serving food early. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. From the hotel it was an easy walk across a park area to the Hot Springs. You can walk along the boardwalk over the mineral water and across a suspension bridge. Would certainly stay at this hotel again and recommend this hotel to others travelers.
Loved the room and the charm of this almost 100 year old building. They've kept up with the needed upgrades and the room was in excellent condition. The mineral hot springs is a huge benefit and the breakfast selection was pretty good.
Best rooms in town! However no restaraunt. Which means no in room food service. Wonderful natural Hot Springs Jacuzzi, perfect for a drink or three right outside your door. All night long. As long as you are not a nuisance.
I consider no other hotel when traveling through Thermopolis, Wyoming. There is a fresh water pool(seasonal) and a mineral springs hit tub open year around, I believe. The rooms are filled with rustic furniture and yet a touch vintage surrounds you. Very comfortable bed and professional friendly service.
Hot tub is too small. We wanted to enjoy the mineral spring but there was always someone in there and it's pretty small so we felt we were intruding. The service was amazing, our room was clean and pretty comfortable and breakfast was pretty good. Coffee was great.
Great Stay...Great Soak! Just what we needed for an overnight stop in Thermopolis to soak...appreciate the mineral hot tub soak available at the Hotel. Always friendly & helpful service. Good breakfast & WIFI that works quickly!
Superb hotel in every way in the town with the huge hot springs; hotel has their own hot-springs pool/tub in which guests can soak. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Great location near hot springs park & right on Big Horn River.
This hotel is a great place to stay in Thermopolis, right in the Hot Springs State Park area. The Bighorn river is 100 yards away also. The rooms are very nice, very clean, and very roomy. I like just about everything about this hotel. Their breakfast service is free and varied enough to be interesting and it is WAY better than the usual 2-star offerings of make-your-own waffles etc.
Well kept and the staff was excellent. Very personable and helpful. Close to Star plunge! Noise above us was horrible... squeaky floors and the people above kept us awake from 8 pm until close to midnight. We did not report it hoping it was going to stop. I specifically asked for a quiet room!
We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. Loved the brick building and its history with old photos in the lobby. The rocking chairs on the top landing were also a nice touch. The room was very spacious with many windows and a very comfortable bed, sheets/pillows and bathroom. The breakfast was also very good and diverse with eggs and waffles in a nice sunny breakfast sitting room. You can very easily walk over to three hot springs establishments. Only drawback if you have a lot of luggage as we did there is no elevator. The desk attendant offered to help us but was then "too busy" so we lugged it all upstairs ourselves. If stairs are an issue for you please check in advance to get a ground floor room. Otherwise very nice place.
In my travels to the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming. I prefer to stay in Thermopolis, WY as it is a nice quite town. My favorite place to stay is the Best Western. The staff is always friendly and helpful more than willing to go out of there way to do what ever you need to be comfortable and taken care of. The rooms, grounds and building are always clean and comfortable.
Though plain on the outside, this is a gem of a hotel. Comfortable and quiet room, opening out to a park at the back of the hotel. The outdoor spa was nicely hot at 104 degrees. This park includes nice gardens and the fun Splash Park that is recommended for a swim.
We stayed for a night when visiting Thermopolis in September. The hotel was easy to find, ideally located, close to the park and hot springs. Check in was easy and quick. The room we got was not very specious, but completely fine for a night stay. it was clean and bed comfortable. We enjoyed a hot tub located next to the pool. Breakfast was very nice experience, offering wide variety of warm and cold. This Best Western is one of the best hotels we have stayed in in the US and can only recommend. Thank you.
The hotel is convenient for the Hot Springs Park, is clean, friendly and provides a good breakfast. We had booked a room with a King bed and ended up with a suite, a separate seating area with TV. Everything was clean. The Park is two minutes walk away.
This historic hotel is well-kept, has extremely clean rooms, and a wonderful breakfast. My room was fairly small, but fine for one person, one night. It had all of the amenities for which one could ask, and although a historic building, was completely modernized and updated. It's location in the Hot Springs Park, and the hotel itself featured an outdoor thermal spa/pool. There's also a nice river walk nearby.
Had a very nice couple nights here on a business trip — front desk staff (in particular the manager) were very friendly and helpful! The rooms are a great size with lots of places to put your stuff. I'm particularly grateful for a table *and* a desk! Furniture is the sort of fake log-cabin variety that isn't always the most comfortable, but the bed was great. Only thing I didn't love is that the bathroom light and fan are controlled by a single switch, which makes the bathroom loud all the time. (I don't need a fan if I'm only brushing my teeth.) A very minor complaint, though. Plus the hot springs hot tub is open 24/7 and was an enjoyable perk of an otherwise all-work-no-play trip. I'd be very happy to stay here again!
Great hotel, only place to stay in Thermopolis, plan ahead, lack of available rooms means price gouging. The area of the Basin is one to make time to explore. Rafting, fishing, hiking and exploring are just a few of the opportunities here in the area
Found out about this hotel through Trip Advisor. It was quite charming, and the room was comfortable. The pool and mineral spa were lovely. No restaurant, so ate across the street at the Day's Inn - not bad, not great.
Very nice, comfortable, near to things. It was a nice time with family for the wedding of my stepdaughter. We had the availability to be near activities for the kids and use the pavilion in the park for the reception.
We thought that this was a great place to visit and the room was excellent. Nice historic building in the state park. Surroundings are real interesting. We would consider coming back to Best Western in Thermopolis for many reasons. It is nice to have breakfast included in the cost or the room.
Walked into the hotel after driving for 20 hours and staff was very friendly. Checked in late and was told the natural hot springs spa was open 24/7 natural spa which was quite relaxing. Bed was great! Breakfast good too!
Great hotel with well appointed rooms and bathrooms. The only issue was that the walls were a bit thin so we could hear the person in the room next to us snoring, which could only mean that they could also hear us snoring! So earplugs could be of use. Other then that amazing hotel in a great location.
My husband and I often stay at The Plaza in Thermopolis and enjoy it very much. It's not a luxury hotel but it's a pleasant, comfortable, relaxing place. The bathrooms have been upgraded since our last visit three years ago. The rooms have log furniture --it's Wyoming after all. There are a lot of choices at the breakfast "buffet." The hot pool is fairly small as is the main pool, but both are adequate for soaking or a little swimming. It's nice that it's located within Hot Springs State Park. We believe this is the best place to stay while in Thermopolis!
Rooms are lovely, well appointed and clean. Breakfast buffet is generous and has many options. Afternoon chocolate chip cookies are yummy! We enjoyed the pool and spa. The hotel is conveniently located right in the park. A great place to stay.
Excellent property and staff. Great rooms, a 24-hour hot springs spa and no negatives. Out of probably hundreds of "breakfast included" hotel stays, this breakfast was by far the most excellent. The chef had prepared an exquisite quiche, and the other breakfast items were top notch. Highly recommended.
We were driving from Denver to Yellowstone and needed a place to stay. This hotel filled the bill! The room was large and comfortable. The hot tub spa was relaxing, and the desk clerk was able to adjust the temperature by increasing or reducing water flow from the spring. We found the town of Thermopolis to be much nicer than any of the towns near by. A good variety of restaurants were a short drive from the hotel.
Converted from old hotel into a charming newer version within the Hot Springs Park. Amenities abound especially their very own hot spring spa and fresh water swimming pool. Comfortable, clean, and wonderful to stay in.
Very relaxed and pretty. The easy access to the mineral pools is great. We walked along the river and ran into the Teepee vent and the State Park. The sulfur smell is present, but fits the experience .
Wonderful quiet accommodations. Bath House, board walk, hiking, early morning Smoking Waters and Bison viewing are just around the corner. An experience you will never forget. Hot tub at hotel is 104 degrees most of the time, what a treat at the end of the day.
This Best Western is housed in a beautiful historic building, the rooms are wonderful, furnishings beautiful. It has a mineral spring fed hot tub and pool which we enjoyed, They added quiche to the normal best western breakfast. And you can walk to the State park hot springs. The only real issue we noticed, is the faint but persistent smell of sulfur from the mineral spring.
I travel for work four times a year and stay at this Best Western every time. They offer amazing service and a nice, clean, and safe place to stay along my route. I always feel very comfortable and enjoy my stay in Thermopolis.
Excellent staff, comfy bed, many pillows to choose from, fast Internet, big towels, the morning newspaper, fresh, quiet, private, great breakfast. What more could a guy want ... all inside Wyoming's best state park. What a deal!
We stayed here on July 31st. We were a little reluctant as this is a historic building, but we took a chance anyway. The front desk clerk was very friendly and either the manager or an owner was also there. Both welcomed us, gave us some background information about the hotel and gave us ideas for restaurants to eat at. We were also told that this property will undergo a complete renovation next year to mark 100 years. We went to our room and this was a most unique room. It was pretty large for the time period of the building and the bathroom had recently been upgraded. All was very clean. The only drawback was that the doors into the hallway were very noisy. The hot spring spa was very enjoyable. We were up early and went into the breakfast room for breakfast. There was the typical hotel fare plus many other options. It was really good. We will stay here again.
If you want to stay at a hotel that stinks, this is the one for you. It is expensive and not worth the money. You can find a better one in this city than the Best Western Even if you have to travel a bit further or not as far. If you stay there, remember your were warned.
Too pricey for what it is - Nice place otherwise and wonderful mineral water in hot tub! Good location in the park. Heavy wood log furniture in the room: beware if you are using a wheelchair- The room is blocked by large furniture. Nice for others, but not for us. Helpful staff and great cleaning crew. Lovely location.
What a delightful surprise in the small town (under 3000 people) of Thermopolis. Of the 8 places we stayed on a 2+ week Yellowstone vacation (and we stayed at some pretty expensive ones), I'd rate this hotel at the top. We had a "corner king" on the 2nd floor. It was a beautifully appointed spacious room, immaculate, with a lot of windows, separate dressing area, and one of the better showers I've had in a hotel (large, again well appointed). The bed linens were excellent, the bed very comfortable. Several desks and places to sit. A refrigerator and microwave had recently been added to the room's fixtures (not listed on line). In very hot weather, the a/c worked perfectly. The entrance is semi-private, and the hotel was quiet. The view is relaxing out to lawns in the state park and the river. You can easily walk to both state park attractions and the town (the latter is a bit further). Management was hospitable and accommodating; when they couldn't check us in early (room wasn't ready), they plugged in our electric cooler in a corner in the 1st floor office. When we returned to check in after a few hours at the dinosaur museum (be sure to visit that!), our cooler had been carried to our 2nd floor room and plugged in for us! Breakfast was quite good, especially the freshly-cooked quiche, but we regretted there was no vegetarian version (so my wife couldn't eat it). There are several relaxing public areas for this relatively small hotel: a comfortable lobby, and the dining area has large attractive tables that can be used outside of breakfast hours as workspaces to spread out (which we saw somebody doing with lots of papers), or to eat your own meal (we'd brought our lunch). A couple of notes. As an historic structure, located within the state park, and meticulously maintained (read its interesting history as a spa apartment house), there is no elevator; 2nd floor rooms are walk-up. There is a soaking pool with water piped in from the hot spring (so you can get a mineral bath without having to go to the public pool in the state park). When I was there, the temperature (posted) was 102 degrees, and it was VERY relaxing (provided you don't mind the strong sulfur aroma, which reminds you that you're in a state park with the world's largest single hot spring; I actually liked it). There is also a small regular swimming pool, which I didn't try. The small size of this hotel makes it a relaxing, intimate experience. I really can't think of any negatives – I wish everyplace we stayed while traveling were like this. My highest rating.
Our group arrived at the hotel late after a day on the road with mechanical troubles only to find that one of our rooms had be mistakenly given to another guest. The lady on duty immediately got control of the situation and got us another room. The hotel is beautiful surrounded by a park with great hot and cool pools. First rate staff and fantastic breakfast.
Great location inside the Hot Springs Park with very nice rooms; heated outdoor pool & mineral hot springs hot tub... All of the newly renovated rooms have some view of the park and/or river, and a full breakfast is served every morning for guests only (no public restaurant)...
The rooms are so nicely furnished with log furniture. Entries are semi private. The mineral water pool is awesome, the water is piped in from nature and the underground hot springs. The mineral water makes the pain in my back go away, nothing else does.
The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The pools were relaxing and the setting was beautiful. In walking distance to many activities. The hotel set up was unique in that the building is historical.
Funky little hotel with a cool history! Great location with a river running in front of it that allowed my son an I to try a little fishing. The hotel also backs up to the town's famed mineral springs. We stayed in Thermopolis because we couldn't find a hotel any closer to Yellowstone for our last minute road trip. However, we ended up loving the location and took a day to fish, explore the mineral springs, floating bridge, and dramatic scenery. We also got in a visit to the Dinosaur Center which is well worth it!
We greatly enjoyed our brief stay at the Plaza in Thermopolis. The hotel is clean, comfortable and well situated, near the hot springs. We enjoyed Thermopolis and the location of the hotel made it easy to explore. The staff was very accommodating both in service and providing information about the area.
I have stayed that the Best Western in Thermopolis several times and have always enjoyed my stays. The rooms are nicely decorated with log furniture, the bathrooms are very nice and always clean. Nice place to stay!
We loved this a Best Western. After camping for many days, the hot tub from the mineral springs and the pool were a welcome relief. It is located in the state park so we were also able to do some walking near the hotel and could leave the car parked. A very nice place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Thermopolis! We had excellent service from the front desk management. We also could walk to the Hot Springs from the hotel. The hotel also had an outdoor pool and mineral spring spa.
We enjoyed our second visit to Best Western Plaza Hotel in Thermopolis, Wyoming. The decor was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was welcoming. The breakfast options were great. The location was superb. The swimming pool and hot tub were very nice.
Awesome stay with the family except our upstairs neighbors decided to be very awake at 2a. We heard their every move. It wouldn't be bad if we didn't have night owls above us. The rest of the hotel is awesome for being located in a 99 year young building. The room was clean the bathroom was as well. The beds were comfortable. The pool and mineral spa was awesome and the kids enjoyed both. Highly recommended! I would stay here again if we are passing trough.
The Plaza is a well run, historic hotel in a terrific location. I had a large queen bed room with a beautiful view of the Big Horn River. The hotel has a mineral hot pool that is open 24 hrs. A day as well as a swimming pool. The room was a nice size with refrigerator and microwave. My only complaint was too few hangers in the closet.
A lovely, classic hotel that has been thoughtfully updated and looks great inside and out. Rooms are large and very classy and comfortable, with a decor that blends the classic style of the property with every modern convenience. Everything felt like I was at a very upscale resort. Our room felt like a small suite. The breakfast buffet was a cut above what I've come to expect at a hotel. One of the best BW's I have ever stayed at, was sorry it was just for one night.
The building was erected in 1918. Updated and very modern inside while keeping the 100 year old charm. Our room was very comfortable with all the modern amenities. We will stay here again when we visit Thermopolis next time.
We love staying at the Bestwestern hotels because they all have great beds and pillows for a great night sleep after riding all day on our Harley's! They have a wonderful breakfast and the staff are very helpful. The mosquitoes were very bad this year. We could not enjoy sitting in the hot tub or swimming in the pool without getting ate up. We should have brought mosquito spray. The breakfast was excellent and the quiche was wonderful !
We had a great room on the second floor of the hotel. We only stayed one night but I was able to check out the hot spring in the MIDDLE of the hotel, have some breakfast, and get some recommendations from the staff. Everything here was top notch.
We stayed one night in Thermopolis to break up the long journey back to Denver from Jackson Lake and what an enjoyable detour this was. Our room was enormous with a huge comfortable bed. It was nice to relax by the small pool in the afternoon and the hot springs and dinosaur museum a few minutes drive away. The journey back to the interstate through the wind river canyon is spectacular.
Overall, very nice, no major problems All rooms available, did not like lack of included breakfast at BW rapid city. Also need elevator or help with baggage to 2nd floor in Thermopolis. Otherwise, BW hotels were excellent and we have booked another BW stay this weekend
This is a lovely place to stay located in a beautiful State Park with mineral hot springs, shade trees and picnic areas plus wonderful walking paths. Close to museum and other small town specialties. Mineral water hot tub with fresh water swimming pool also close to free Wyoming State Bath House. Well worth the cost.
Loved the hotel; from the outside it is very attractive; upon entering it is a little western and attractive as well; love the room as the decor was great and it was a comfortable room; our room was on the 2nd floor with our window facing the walkway and it was perfect. close to the hot pools and walking path; definately would stay here again
I travel quite a bit for business. The staff at this hotel if very friendly and helpful. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable. The pool and hot tub area are well maintained and very clean. The mineral hot tub is a great bonus.
This was a very nice hotel, a little older building but very nicely kept up. Décor in room was nice and the beds were comfortable. Besides the pool there was a mineral soaking pool. There is not an elevator (2 floors) but that was not an issue for us. The hotel is located right in the Hot Springs Park that has a free public spring you can soak in and also 2 small water slide parks with mineral spring pools/slides that charge a reasonable fee.
Rooms where clean and outside well kept. Need to eat early, as most places in town close by 8 pm. The State Park is beautiful and nice walking paths. Pool was clean and hot tub was too. Easy to book and check in and check out with the express check out which was nice,
I always love staying at the Best Western Thermopolis, Wy. This hotel has the friendliest employees and the building itself is so quaint. It has almost a bed & breakfast feel but all the amenities of a hotel. The location is beautiful and you can walk to the hot springs. The rooms are very clean and the showers are amazing! Lots of windows in the rooms are a great touch too! Don't miss the quiche at breakfast in the morning!!
Good Hotel. Great Museums (Dinosaur and Historical) plus Hot Springs and good fishing at the right time of year in the river. Very good for a small town. Good pie at the Bear Restaurant and the Safari club across the street from the Hotel is a good place for a drink or meal with a lot of wildlife trophies mounted on the walls.
Although this hotel was a bit "spendier " than we'd hoped, this is a LOVELY facility! The room was very clean, very quiet, very quaint, 24-hour access to the natural hot-spring fed spa, great complimentary breakfast (including quiche!) - well done, Laura! I got the feeling of Ritz-Carlton quality customer service.
The staff at Plaza Hotel- BW Thermopolis are the best ever. They are kind, helpful, caring, and really know how to treat their customers. I will and would always stay there. It is so close to the river that you have a great place to walk and the pool and hot spring hot tub are great and relaxing.
This is a wonderful renovated hotel. Love the history of it. It is beautifully kept and where else will you find home made quiche with your full breakfast? The rooms are not very big but very adequate and the on site mineral spring fed spa was a wonderful way to relax after driving many miles!
This hotel is perfectly located in the state park in Thermopolis, WY. This is a perfect place to relax on your way to or from Yellowstone N.P. Do yourself a favor and plan your trip to include a stay at this property in Thermopolis. Employees were hard working and interested in hosting us as their guests... just like it should be... Breakfast was nice with a wide range of options to satisfy everyone. Natural mineral springs pumped into the hot tub helps everyone to relax and enjoy their visit! One night was great, but I'd love to take the time and just chill at this property for about five nights-make my own cruise.... Fish, walk, hot tub and relax.... I didn't even mention the very cool western, lodge-pole furniture and décor in the rooms...
If you plan on staying anywhere between Casper and Cody, this is the place and the hotel. Enjoy the hot springs and a nice remodeled old hotel with good staff, accommodations, and their own hot springs fed hot tub. Local dining is average, so save your fancy meal plans for Cody or Casper.
This is not a drive-by. You will be pleasantly surprised when you go inside and check into your room. All recently remodeled and spacious rooms. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. We would definitely stay here again on a return visit.
Clean but no air conditioning. Response was not satisfactory from staff. No repair of air conditioning. Staff was not caring. Mineral spa was cold and dirty. Breakfast was ok. Very disappointed overall
we stayed at this hotel and got a scam phone call at 2:30 am from the "front desk". I almost gave out my personal information but woke up enough to realize that this was not the front desk. Much to my surprise I found out after I called the front desk that they have been having this problem at their hotel. Apparently here is a sign if you look hard enough BUT THEY MUST DO BETTER TO ALERT GUESTS OF THIS PROBLEM
we had a very comfortable spacious room, with a modern bath that was spotless. this is cleanest motel we have stayed at in years. the king size bed was comfortable. the breakfast was excellent. the staff was friendly and helpful. we would love to go back and stay anytime.
We stayed here with a group for a family reunion. The place was very nice, staff helpful, and room nice and comfy. There are plenty of places to eat around town, and lots of things for kids to see and do. If you are traveling though or just coming in for a fun, this is probably the best hotel in the area.
Always a great hotel. Just when I didn't think the breakfast could get any better, they added potatoes. Fresh fruit toppings, Top of the line breakfast by any standards. Fresh cookies in the afternoons ...... Great staff, everyone will help accommodate requests with cheerfulness. I love this place and go several times during the winter .
My husband and I stay here 3-4 times a year. Rooms are always clean and service is great. Hotel is close to the hot springs and the walkway along the river. There is a hot spring hot tub on site open 24 hous. Rooms have fireplaces, refrigerators and modern bath areas. Breakfast is included. Staff are very friendly and accommodating every time we visit!
Stayed just one night. Great, helpful staff. Not sure if the buildings history but it's very cool. They have their own personal hot spring spa and close to State Park. Lovely grounds too. Wind River Canyon and dinosaur museum are on our agenda.
What a pleasant surprise to find this gem in Thermop!! I had never been to Thermopolis before so I was a little worried on finding a nice place to stay. Once I walked in to the lobby I was somewhat put to ease about my stay. The desk clerk was extremely helpful and the lobby and surrounding areas were clean. Once I arrived to my room, all worries were put to rest. My room and bathroom were both extremely clean. I was blown away, honestly. Will stay here again in the future!!
After some issues with another hotel in town, we decided to stay here. It seemed a little pricey, but worth it. If we rent a room in Thermopolis this the only place we will stay. They were very accommodating, it was clean, and the food was actually good!!!
Nice, clean hotel exterior, entry, and room. The hotel is centrally located within Thermopolis and within walking distance to fly fishing on the river and the hot springs state park and Star Plunge water park. The mineral pool outside in the courtyard was very nice for a quick soak with the kids. We would stay there again.
This hotel is very noisy walls are paper thin the staff is very rude and will not help with problems. Furniture looks nice but very uncomfortable. Hallways are very noisy like being in a cave every time doors are closed it wakes you up the hot tub is open all night so some guests are in and out being very noisy. There are other hotels very close that are a better quality.
I travel a ton for work so I love finding a hotel that is different. Just to lay out alone it's pretty cool here. The Hot tub was great. I went there both at night and the next morning. I got it admit it's a pretty amazing smell and even though I rinsed the heck out of my swimsuit and put it in a plastic bag in the trunk of my car I could still smell it all day long. Back to the hotel, the king suite was huge and I liked the unique building. Cookies at night are always a positive. Good breakfast, with quiche as an option. I also liked how they had flour tortillas available. Plus chocolate chips to add to the waffles. Nice extras. I asked for things to do, and was told about the walk along the river and then up across the boardwalk to see the hot springs, and then across the swinging bridge. Beautiful walk at sunset.
This hotel is in an old building that used to be apartments. We had rooms that were made up of a living room and bedroom with fireplace. The rooms were very clean, bathrooms clean. There was a refrigerator and coffee maker. There was a hot tub fed by the hot mineral springs, the outdoor pool was closed when we were there. The only knock on the room was that the beds are very firm. Awesome people working there, very friendly and easy with a conversation.
I'd highly recommend this hotel as the place to stay while in Thermopolis. It's quiet, super clean with an out door public hot tub, that's open 24/7, fed from the hot springs. (It was AMAZING after a long drive. ) Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. We would happily stay here again. The only oddity about the rooms is they don't have tubs, only showers. The only other heads up I would give, that I didn't notice in any other reviews, is about the sulfur smell. If you have a serious aversion to the smell of rotten eggs, I'd suggest staying somewhere different. The hotel is built in a small U shape around the court yard which has the hot tub, since it's heated by the hot springs, there is always a heavy sulfur smell as soon as you step out of your room (not at all in the rooms though!).
We had spent almost 13 hours in the truck when we finally made it to the hotel. The staff was friendly and got us checked in quickly. They also let us know about the fun amenities (mineral pool and fresh banana bread). The rooms were clean and aesthetically pleasing. We will stay there when passing through again.
Older building with great décor of the early year in Thermopolis. Beautiful rooms with comfortable beds and nice furnishings. Staff is anxious to help and has always been polite and helpful. It has its own hot spring spa and is walking distance to the larger hot spring spas.
Hotel is neat and clean and very close to hot springs. Great staff but you definitely have to pay a heftier price for the room considering the location. Has great pool and hot tub. The breakfast is about average for this type of lodging. I would like to see the price of the stay come down a little bit. I have stayed in much nicer rooms for less money.
ALWAYS friendly - ALWAYS clean - ALWAYS accommodating - ALWAYS a good experience. Whether we are in town for a conference here or driving through for pleasure, this hotel is our choice every single time. My husband travels through often enough they know his first name. The beds are comfortable. The hotel is not upscale, but we don't care, because the hospitality is more important to us. Little tid-bit: The hotel we stayed in last night, at a different town, had closed its lobby until 6AM. I am a very early riser and had to sit in the hallway so I would not wake my husband in our room. This morning, I entered the lobby of this hotel and it was not only open, but they already had hot water and tea bags out so I could compute and have hot tea. Little things like that matter.
the hotel is nice - the beds comfy. Shower - plenty of pressure, room spacious. The hot tub was nice, really hot. the front desk person told us we would have the best night sleep after soaking in the tub and he was right. The breakfast options were great. Homemade quiche, plenty of fruits, yogurt and waffles - everyone in our picky party found something to eat. We love how close it was to the park and we just walked to site see.
I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are efficient, helpful and very friendly. The hotels is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast is hot and a great variety of foods to eat. They even have quiche!
Stayed here for one night when we were unable to get into Yellowstone National Park due to road closures. Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast selection in the morning was quite good. Hot tub (heated by natural spring water) was amazing and quite a gathering point for guests in the evening. Very friendly and accommodating staff. After I left my coat at a nearby restaurant they are taking care of getting it and sending it back to me. That's extraordinary service that I really appreciate and recognize. Kudos and thanks to the staff for helping me out.
This is a great place to go for soaking. I appreciated the pure mineral water. I hope to get back again soon. The staff was very helpful in finding a dinner place. The breakfast had a bit more choices than the usual BW.
we have staid in this hotel 10/19/2016 one night, we have rented two rooms, rooms are really specious and modern, everything is clean. the best part was a front desk lady, she really understood our needs and manage everything great. 5 stars for the service
I was pleasantly surprised when we pulled up to the BWP after days of driving. Harley, the front office representative, was very helpful and spent time acquainting me with the local area and pointing out the places that I was interested in visiting. It's also in a convenient location as the Star Plunge Mineral Hot Springs was just behind the hotel and a great place to take the family.
I love staying here when in town. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is a plus. Parking is easy and it is great to be staying in the park. Highly recommend!
What a pleasure to stay at this hotel at the end of a long day of driving across Wyoming from South Dakota. It is like a European boutique hotel rather than a typical chain. Room was large, comfortable, and very nicely decorated. The hot tub spa was wonderful, being fed from the thermal springs. Much nicer than using the public areas. Inviting lobby with a fireplace, yummy breakfast selection even quiche. We would stay again if driving through this quaint little town.
Probably one of the nicest Best Western's I have stayed. We stayed in a King suite the first night. Very large room. Comfortable bed. Nice towels. Very updated bathroom with large shower. Two tv's, microwave and refrigerator. It was downstairs. Very good free breakfast, on real plates. 2nd night we had a queen room with a soaking tub. Very nice, but upstairs, no refrigerator or microwave. Still a very nice room. Employees were all very friendly.
After a long drive we received a lovely welcome from the receptionist. He was very friendly and helped with all our questions. The room was small but clean, well equipped and we had a great nights sleep. We were able to wander to the thermal spa in the morning which was great.
On September 3 we made a phone reservation with a front desk person. We asked for 2 rooms with 2 guests. He quoted us an $89.00 rate. When I was printing the confirmations getting ready for our trip, I noticed they had only wrote down 1 guest. I called the hotel to be sure they had us down for 2 guests. They advised that the new rate would now be $132.12. Really, a difference of over $42.00 for an extra guest? Even the national customer care call center states there is no difference between 1 and 2 guests. On their website reservation there is not a difference. They would not honor our $89.00 rate even though it was the front desk person that made the mistake. Thank goodness all Best Westerns are not like this, the Burnsville, MN location has always been very accommodating every time we have stayed with them. We have cancelled our reservation and will be staying elsewhere. Very disappointing, incredibly bad customer service. We were using a military discount too, way to treat your veterans!
I just spent 2 nights at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dana at the front desk was wonderful as was the room I stayed in. It had a king bed with a large bathroom. It also had a separate living room with a fridge and microwave. The place was very quiet and I slept like a baby! Also, they have a hot mineral bath with water coming out directly from the hot springs. The temperature of the water was between 101 and 103 degrees the entire time I was there. It was very relaxing and I really enjoyed a soak at the end of each day.
This is a great hotel right in the state park next to walking, exploring and hot tubing. A fair price, good internet, free parking, and a fantastic breakfast. This place is quiet and has wonderful service. Love it.
Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. Loved that there was a separate room with a fireplace as I always wake up earlier than the hubby and usually freeze while waiting for him to wake up. The staff were helpful and recommended and excellent restaurant. The best part about it was the mineral spring fed hot tub!
perfectly placed for a visit to Thermopolis - we were passing through for 1 night and this hotel was great - right in the park itself. Good for exploring trails to the river and hot springs as well as visiting the pools and historic town centre. Comfortable room, friendly staff, nothing to fault.
This hotel is very comfortable and clean.Rooms are decorated nicely with log furniture and pleasant decor. Always look forward to our stay here. Breakfast is great and you can soak in the onsite mineral pool, without going to the ones off site. Beds are comfy and linens are always clean. Great place. Parking is a little tricky if you get in later at night because the lot is rather small. Usually see deer on the lawn by the river.
We stay here at least 4/5 times a year when we pass thru Thermop. Always try to get a suite, but avoid room 109 because the floor above squeaks incessantly. The outside mineral "hot pool" was noticeably cool, so the staff came out to adjust it upwards. We also pointed out that it looked like it could use a good cleaning, and the next morning as we were leaving, the pool was drained and they were doing just that. Breakfast is the best inclusive breakfast I experience in my travels. The staff there makes HOMEMADE quiche for the guests. The rest is standard fare, but the people are genuinely friendly. Write me if you have any questions.
This place I rate a perfect ten every time except this time. We stayed in this room before and I don't remember the startling floor sound which woke me up at 5:45 and then again around 6:30! I thought the floor was going to come crashing in to our bedroom! Mind You I was dead asleep at this time and we had a wonderful suite to watch the football game on a Monday night. BTW the cushions need to be replaced on the couch Management should sit in them to see hat I mean. Good to sit and tie your shoes but not to sit for more than that time. I'm only 5 7 and my husband I 6 foot tall but the backs are not tall enough and the width of the cushions do not cover where your legs rest on the couch supports! Bathrooms are well appointed and the curtains allow you I to sleep longer and feel like it's still dark out so we could get a great nights sleep. THE Breakfasts are amazing and they have ALSO added Quiche. HOMEMADE!!!!! WOW! Delicious! Definitely will stop back to stay again. Some people think it is too expensive but with the closeness to the free baths, healthy breakfasts 2 different newspapers , fresh homemade cookies and drinks in the evening it makes it all worth it!
Our room was recently renovated and was a nice large corner room on the second floor with several windows overlooking the park and pool. The bed was very comfortable, the cable TV worked and the bathroom was very updated with large towels and a rain shower. The breakfast was very good and staff were very courteous and pleasant. Best of all, the price was very reasonable. If you can't walk stairs, there is no elevator.
I lived in thermop for about 7 months or so last year, but when i went back it was the first time i needed a hotel room. Great to be in the park- you can float the river and then come out right by the hotel! The breakfast was one of the best ones i have seen- hot quiches, and all the usual breakfast necessities. The mineral springs fed hot tub is open 24/7, definitely a plus! The lady at the front was so helpful! A little pricey, but i think it is worth it!
This is the fourth time I've stayed at the BW Plaza Hotel and each stay has been pleasant. Needless to say, I do love the rooms. They are nicely appointed with log style furniture, beautiful bed linens, clean, well taken care of and spacious. Daniel, the manager runs a top notch BW establishment and makes sure ones stay is comfortable. This is an older historic hotel. There is no elevator to the second floor, so if you have issues with climbing a flight of stairs, ask for a first floor room. I like being on the second floor and don't have an issue with this, so I always book a king corner room when I stay. The beds are comfy and the linens are attractive and nicely laundered. The furniture is rustic style and in good repair, clean, and quite attractive. Beautiful framed prints decorate the walls. The curtains are ecofriendly and in summer help block heat, in winter help block cold. The carpets are cleaned regularly and you can walk barefoot without worry. The tv has lots of stations and is up to date as well as internet and wifi service (it worked well for me since this was a business trip. I sleep with windows open instead of using the ac and it was cool at night so this worked well for me. The shower is large and really pretty neat. HUGE shower head. Nice bath towels, large and fluffy. I love the banity in this place. It has unique sink bowls and rustic spigots that look like old water pumps. COOKIES in the afternoon and night...all I would need is some milk. The staff from the desk staff like Dan, Harley, and the rest of the crew are great as well as the grounds crew and the cleaning crew. They all make you feel welcome and like a valued guest. Breakfast is great. You don't need to go out and find anywhere else to enjoy breakfast. The scrambled eggs with onions and peppers is tasty, you can make yourself a waffle which I didn't but the people who did were enjoying them, apple and orange juice, a nice selection of different kinds of yogurt as well as fresh strawberries, granola, cereals for the kid in you, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, breads. The lobby is comfortable, a great place to sit and relax, look at artwork, read the paper. The couches are western style and comfy. The pool and hot springs spa are clean, well maintained and filled with water from the hot springs. The spa (like a hot tub) is clean, has a lift for those whose abilities are limited and is usually about 104 degrees though it can heat up a little more. Do you want to visit Thermop and want a great place to stay> Look no further. Service, cleanliness, great property, great rooms. Good for the biz traveler or families or just anybody for that matter.
This hotel has a wonderful location, actually IN the state park! We had a room on the first floor right near the pool which was a bit noisy until the pool closed at 10pm but turned on the fan in the bathroom and that drowned it out. The room did smell a bit like sulfur in the morning but I think the whole area does. :) My kids loved the pool and the chocolate chip cookes in the lobby. The breakfast was wonderful!! There are two large playgrounds within walking distance of this hotel as well as the hot springs. A very relaxing area. We stayed in 7 hotels during our cross country trip and my kids proclaimed this one 'the best!'
While it's a little pricey for me, this is a great hotel! It was around $189. We stayed one night with our kids. The room was amazing! It had an amazing bathroom with beautiful fixtures and a squeaky clean walk in shower. I also enjoyed the bath and body works toiletry items that were provided. The room was well furnished with a comfortable bed and the separate room had a pull out sofa which my kids slept on. There was a large flat screen tv in each room. We didn't use the pool but it looked very nice. Delicious hot breakfast the next morning! Stay here! You won't regret it!
This was a place I was looking forward to staying at, as on a pretty fast trip around Montana and Wyoming it was the only place with a pool. We had just one night and were intending chilling for the afternoon and having a little swim after a hot dusty trip to get there. We arrived at lunchtime but were told pretty rudely that we were too early to check in so we sat on the grass outside for an hour or so and were finally allowed into our room at 3. Checking in was a bizzare experience itself as it took for ever and required documention with our address on which we have never had to do before as usually passport suffices. The desk clerk used my driving licence and as I was born in Nigeria but am a Londoner I had the craziest address on the original invoice which had Nigeria, my address in London and then completely curiously Poland at the end. Surely, everyone who is not a remote tribesman knows where London is!!! By the time we had done all of this and got to our room and sorted ourselves out it was nearly 4 by the time we got to the very small pool - it looked bigger in the photos. We then had a nice 20 minutes in the sun and I was just ready for a cooling dip when someone came and tested the pool and then closed it. 40 minutes later it was still closed and I had had enough so left. The next morning I thought I would have an early morning dip but yes it was closed again! I mentioned this as I was leaving to a different desk clerk and he was pretty indifferent. One other annoying thing was a tapping sound all night from the bathroom pipes but again it was a bit of a shrug. In the room you are asked to let them know if things weren't right and so I dutifully did but then they didn't really care so not sure why I bothered. The room was clean the grounds were nice and the breakfast was pretty reasonable for one of these more convenience style places but this was very expensive for what it was and when I compare it with the fantastic value I had in the B&Bs we stayed in with their wonderful service and food then there is no comparison
Loved the location of the hotel! Beautiful park setting and walking distance to the mineral hot springs. The hotel has been refurbished and is very nice. They may want to consider adding insulation if they can as we had a first floor room and could hear our neighbors talking and walking above us, every step! I would request a 2nd floor room next time because of this.
While travelling through Wyoming and South Dakota, this Best Western was the best stay we had. Great staff, great little extra's like homemade quiche and warm chocolate chip cookies. The hot spring spa was a nice surprise and saved us having to spend money on the commercial hot spring spa experience. You could see the pride everyone had in making everyone comfortable.
I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and have always had a great experience until last week. Our room was located next to the mechanical room for the pool. When the pool closed at 10 pm the MANAGER of the hotel had the pool equipment running, buzzers going off and on and he slammed the door every time he entered and exited. Finally after about 45 minutes of constant noise and door slamming I went into the hallway and asked him if he knew people were trying to sleep! He said he was almost finished. And when he was finished he slammed the door extra hard!! Very rude, unprofessional and disrespectful of his guests.
Love this place. It is a very old building that was renovated. Showers are fabulousness we really enjoyed the hot springs hot tub. Cute rooms! Free breakfast and the hotel is surrounded by a beautiful park. It is difficult to see the sign for Best Western.
got to the town late after dark. Took me awhile to find the hotel. But once there, everything was great. Checkin fast, but no elevators. Pool closed at 10pm, I wanted to go and sit in the hot tub, but attendant said pool is closed. Breakfest was very good
This hotel is clean and staff is friendly and helpful. GREAT location for hot springs. They have a spa hot springs at the hotel. Breakfast is good and cookies in evening-homemade and delish! No stairs so beware of bringing too much stuff but everything was real cute including light fixtures.
We've stayed here numerous times while traveling on our Harley through Wyoming. Always a clean, comfortable property. Contrary to another reviewer, our WIFI was excellent. Breakfast and Staff are excellent. We had one disappointment this trip. When we arrived the pool was closed but we were told it should be open in an hour. Five hours later...still closed due to chlorine issue. After riding 500+ miles on a motorcycle, it's a pleasure to take a dip in the pool and soak in the hot springs hot tub. But we went without this trip. We'll hope for the best next trip.
We spent two nights at this hotel. It is located in the state park but within walking distance of all three hot springs. The rooms were very nice and have been updated in the last few years. They have very up to date bathroom and light fixtures. I especially liked the lamps. They were very unique. The lady working in the breakfast area was exceptionally friendly. She made three or four hot egg bakes every morning. The rooms were very clean. It also had a pool and a hot mineral spa (hot tub). Across the street was a nice restaurant and another hotel that offered massages with a hot soak in a mineral tub. It is a place I would spend time at again. Well worth our trip.
Hotel is awesome, clean and rooms gorgeous. Love the hot springs pool. Cont. breakfast was the best I've had!!! And who doesn't love warm chocolate chip cookies served thru out day!!!! Have stayed several times at this location and will definitely stay again during out travel to Thermopolis!!!
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The staff is very good and responsive. The breakfast is very good and the staff there is excellent. Biggest complaint is the wifi system is terrible - I finally set up a hot spot with my iPhone and paid the data charges.
Love this place, have stayed here several times. Great service, clean rooms. Really like the breakfast they offer. The hotel is located in the park...just step out the door and walk along the river or to the park.
This is so nice of a hotel, best ever! Friendly, clean and breakfast is great! décor is Wyoming and parking is good and safe, in a small community and worlds largest hot springs. Updated bathrooms and sanitized remotes.
We were quite surprised with how nice this hotel was on the inside! Really top notch for a small town! We loved the big bed with 6 pillows! Within walking distance to the public hot springs. They also have their own hot springs fed hot tub - the best! Our only complaint was that you have to get the pool towels at the front desk and there was no one there when we wanted our towels. We waited quite a while and then finally gave up. Really great breakfast, better than most.
After a week's journey into Wyoming backcountry, the Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel in Thermopolis was a great spot to rest and recover. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The real attraction was the mineral spring, just the thing after a week of backpacking. The staff was very helpful, available to answer questions about the hotel and the local area. The complimentary breakfast was more than adequate to start the day. Don't miss the boardwalk and suspension bridge in the adjoining State Park. We look forward to a return visit.
we are traveling cross country again and staying in a variety of hotels from three to five star, depending on availability. This one thus far is at the top of the list. pretty, historic building, very well maintained. knowledgeable, extremely friendly staff, very comfortable rooms, (awesome bed and great AC!) beautiful views of the park the hot tub is filled with the Mineral Springs. Very nice relaxing pool area, and a great homemade breakfast. Could not possibly ask for more for the price. if we come back to Thermopolis, definitely staying here!
The Plaza Hotel in Thermopolis is a small, well-maintained, friendly hotel - rooms are western themed - hotel is quiet and located in a state park right next to a river. Beautiful location and a great breakfast is included during your stay. This is the only hotel I stay in when I come to Thermopolis!
chose this hotel based on tripadvisor reviews overnight on cross country motorcycle trip hotel and rooms beautiful reese at front desk couldn't have been more accommodating enjoyed adjacent town park and natural hot mineral spring
We chose this hotel because we needed a stopping point on our way to Yellowstone. What a beautiful, pleasant surprise. The hotel itself is a converted apartment building in the city park that features a hot spring. The units are roomy and the entrances are somewhat more private. Four or five unit entrances are clustered in suites around the building. The architecture is charming, and the pool and hot tub are mineral spring-fed. The whole experience was relaxing and totally enjoyable. The staff was helpful, friendly and efficient. The breakfast which was included was filled with variety and of excellent quality. This place was easily one of our favorites on our 16 day road trip.
Loved my suite in this hotel! Lots of room and nicely decorated. Slight odor when entering. Hot tub is fed from the hot springs and is open 24/7! Loved that! Pool is regular pool water and has limited hours. Kids were sad about this, never got to use the pool. There is NO elevator in this building as it is a historic building. We were on the 2nd floor with lots of luggage. The cute tiny lady at the desk offered to take it up for us, no way my husband would allow that. The suitcases were heavy! Walking distance to hot springs and super close to Wyoming Dinosaur center! We were there for the active dinosaur dig! Which was amazing! The town shuts down VERY early! Keep this in mind if you are night people like us. Breakfast was good. Liked the egg frittata. They had cheerios, which made my daughter happy. Over at 9:30 though when most hotels go to 10AM.
Wonderful 1930s brick building on the corner of the state park. Great setting to walk the park and go to the large hot springs pools The hotel has a small natural mineral hot spring (105 degrees) and a nice size regular pool that's only 5 feet deep so fine for family's. Rooms are very clean and spacious. With a nice breakfast. The staff is wonderful , friendly and super helpful. Setting is special and in demand so make sure to book ahead if your traveling in the summer season.
This hotel is located in a historic building, built for people visiting the hot springs in the early 1900's. Best Western runs the renovated property, which has both a fresh water pool and a mineral hot spring pool. It was a pleasant place to spend a night before our dinosaur dig at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center, though being in an older building, it was noisy- you could hear people in the stairwells and above you. Clean, with a spacious bathroom and decent included hot breakfast.
The staff of any hotel / motel is the heart of the facility. All of the times that I have stayed at the Thermopolis Best Western has been great. The staff are outstanding in the services that they provide. There is nothing like feeling you are part of their family while away from ours. Thank you all for a job well done! See you next trip.
We were in town to bring our daughter to see dinosaurs. Even though we had a portable air conditioner unit in the room for our stay because the air conditioner was broken, the room was in good shape. I did find a few coffee beans on the floor next to the desk, this was the only problem I could see with the room or hotel not being clean. The service a personnel were very informative and helpful. The hot springs hot tub was fun. I would definitely stay here again.
Great people, the room was great and very quaint! The location is awesome, right i the middle of the park. Everything is within walking distance. The hot spring fed hot pool was very relaxing and it is very quiet! Go there!
Stayed three days in Thermopolis for the Dinosaur Center. Hotel is near everything--the Dinosaur Center, the Hot Springs, and downtown, all walking distance. Solid breakfast in the morning; fresh cookies in the lobby; and a hot tub that is filled with water from the natural hot springs, next to their clean, cool pool! Room clean, service pleasant and helpful (we arrived early, an hour before check in, and they looked for and found an available room). Very happy with this hotel.
Clean, comfortable, and spacious room with nice amenities. Would have preferred a king sized bed instead of a queen, and an in-room refridgerator would have been a nice convenience, but the room size would only allow so much. Out of the 4 hotels we stayed in on our 9 day trip, this was easily the best. Be sure to get up in time for the hot breakfast (9:00 weekdays, 9:30 weekends) and bring a swimsuit for the hot spring-fed hot tub that's open 24/7. My wife is originally from Thermopolis and insisted that we stay at this particular hotel; I can see why.
Pristine small town with lovely state park and hot springs—this hotel is next to the park and is a beautiful, historic facility. The pool and hot tub at the hotel was great but the park facilities were even better. Wish we had more days here. Don't miss the Dairyland Drive-in just down the road.
Very impressed with this hotel, right inside Hot Springs State Park. The room is absolutely gorgeous very clean and quaint inside. They even have the remote in a special bag that says Fresh Remote how cool is that. Before we checked in because it was too early we went to the hot springs which is free, but you can only stay in for 20 mins. This is our first time here just love it would definitely come again.
We stayed here for one night on our way back from Yellowstone and Cody to Denver. This hotel has beautifully appointed rooms. Ours had 5 Windows and a double aspect. It was nice and quiet. Breakfast was included and was plentiful. The outside pool is great and well kept with loungers and plentiful towels. We would recommend this hotel .
We absolutely loved our stay here! We checked in after spending almost 10 hours on the road, and Dana at the front desk was amazing! She took time to explain the hotel policies, amenities and their express check out. Since we had not eaten much since breakfast, we asked if there was anywhere we could go to grab a bite to eat. Dana suggested we try Stones Throw up the hill in Thermopolis. She said it was casual (jeans and tees),moderately priced and within a few minutes drive. Stones Throw did not disappoint, this was the best meal we had during our trip. Dana also checked in with us when we returned to the hotel to see what we thought about her recommendation, which was very thoughtful. The room was a smaller room but perfect for our one night stay. Nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The room was clean and well maintained. The bathroom was lovely with Bath and Body Works shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soaps. Only one con and that was the air conditioner. It sounded like there was a loud dripping noise when it kicked off but didn't last more than a few minutes and would not deter us from staying there again.
A long time since I have stayed in one of their hotels so this one was a great choice. It is a "plus" hotel in their range and I see why. The room is a good size with the shower cabinet and WC separate from the wash hand basins. The furniture is all made from natural wood. The beds too are made this way and the overall impression is very Scandinavian. Not all rooms have refrigerators. The breakfast is included in the room rate which means I normally go out. The reviews were so good we decided to try it - absolutely first class. The home made quiche were to die for. Excellent fresh orange juice and everything was freshly prepared. Sitting within walking distance of the hot springs, and feeding the hotel pool, this a great hotel and fantastic location.
Excellent experience and exceeded expectations. The room was very clean and spacious. Updated furniture with a living/kitchenette area was especially nice. Pool and hot tub were enhanced with landscaping and flowers. Full breakfast selections every morning were served....even quiche! Staff was exception.
Very clean, very friendly and helpful, breakfast included, pool and hot tub. The hot tub is fed from the same thermal springs as the paid establishments in the area. Nice to have a more quiet option right outside your door.
We were upgraded to a suite without asking so got off to a good start. The room was spacious & comfortable but rather dark. Air con worked well & was quiet, another plus point. Breakfast was the normal fayre & plentiful. Breakfast room a bit cramped. No guest laundry but one in town so not a major problem ( we were on a 3 week road trip so laundry was necessary! I would recommend this hotel - we enjoyed our stay very much.
Great Hotel with friendly staff. Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding. Nice to see everyone taking pride in their work. I would highly recommend staying here. If I ever get back to Thermopolis I'll be sure to stay here again.
This hotel was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. One afternoon I even noticed housekeeping dusting the outside railings--no kidding. Refreshing establishment and nostalgic. Breakfast was served on real dishes with real silverware. The breakfast cook makes a delicious fresh quiche, which was served on real dishes with real silverware. What a treat it was not to have paper plates and plastic utensils. Location in the park was lovely.
This historical location was charming with our own mineral springs to enjoy. The rooms were unique and beautiful, comfortable and cozy. A two story facility with no elevator, the stairway was handy and the room were sectioned off in "wings", with the porch facing the pool area. Lots of seating and rockers! We enjoyed the company of friends late into the evening, again with the solitude of the wing of the hotel, we practically had our own private space. The breakfast was fabulous. Everything you could ask for including quiche, and later, afternoon/evening homemade cookies ! The folks at the desk were helpful and the grounds beautiful at the foot of the State Park. LOVED IT!
We've stayed in a lot of Best Westerns and this one is now my favorite! It is a small property, which in my mind adds to its charm. The hotel itself was quaint and beautiful, we loved the relaxed atmosphere in the rooms and around hotel, the breakfast was super good and of course, the hot springs tub was spectacular. We loved everything and hope to be back!
Small property right in hot springs park. Stayed in a king suite--two separate rooms with TV's in both. Kids enjoyed having own TV. Pool and hot tub had mineral water with distinct sulfur smell. Continental breakfast was good. Walked from hotel through the hot springs park. Walking distance to Star Plunge and also to free bath houses.
Upon our road trip to Yellowstone, we opted to stay here for one night. We have an avid dinosaur lover in the family, so we had to visit the dinosaur museum here (you must check it out!). The hotel is supreme! We stayed in the suite and "sweet" it was! Lots of space, deep tub, comfy beds, friendly staff, excellent views of the hot springs park, great pool and spring hot tub...what more could you ask for! Very pleased customers! We'd stay again if in that area!
By far the best Hotel I have ever stayed at. We go to Thermopolis every Fathers Day and this is the first time we stayed at the Best Western, but will stay again for sure. The rooms were amazing, the pool was awesome. The breakfast was by far the best I have ever been offered at any motel. Staff was great as well. Cant wait for next year to stay again.
Stayed for one night on our road trip through Wyoming to Colorado to drive through Rocky Mt. National Park. Cool location, room on the 2nd floor overlooking the park was nice. The hot spring was fantastic. Would definitely stay again. To top it off breakfast was fantastic. She just kept in making food for us it was great. We will be back.
We travel from Laramie, WY to Bozeman, MT 2 or 3 times a year. For 3 years, we have stayed at this location by choice. The facilities our outstanding. We really enjoy the hot spa which is immaculately clean. Only 1 problem we have, the cost is quite high. This can be a deterrent to many!
We stayed 2 nites june5&6th The hotel was very cozy and fun . We met people and everyone was nice. The breakfast was great. I loved this place. We wanted to relax and we did. Thanks staff from front desk to housekeeping. Keep it up. I hope to return one day. By the way we met the owner you could tell he cares.
This place is special! Unlike current motel properties, it is a repurposed turn of the (20th) century apartment building but don't let that put you off! Somebody sunk a LOT of money into this motel to bring it up to modern standards while preserving the historical architecture. The result? A very clean comfortable room (very roomy!) that is very quiet and has access to a private hot spring (in a central courtyard). All in all, highly recommended for a restful night. A soak in the hotspring will leave you really relaxed before bed time.
We loved this beautiful historic hotel! Both the hotel and the street outside our windows were very quiet. The hotel and grounds were immaculate and the staff were very friendly. We loved the warm cookies upon our arrival. Our suite was beautifully updated and very spacious. Our room was located on the first floor and was equipped with both a fridge and microwave. Right outside our door was the gate to the mineral water hot tub. The soak in the hot tub was wonderful and we met a lot of nice people while we soaked! The temperature of the mineral water was taken every hour and updated on the fence next to the hot tub. The hotel is conveniently located in Hot Springs State Park so it's an easy to walk to the Swinging Bridge and other attractions. The Wind River Canyon is just a short drive away from the hotel. The full breakfast was wonderful and the breakfast area was always clean and well-stocked. This is our new favorite destination and we can't wait to come back!
We had a nice room, good bed, and a good breakfast. They use real dishes and had breakfast quiche which was different. Cookies were delicious in the evening. There was not an elevator and we were on the second floor. The cost seemed more than most comparable places to stay.
Perfect place for a romantic getaway if you can make reservations midweek when all the families are home. Quiet, relaxing and worth the price. There are a handful of good places to eat in the area that are very reasonable.
The staff were all friendly, helpful and provided interesting history about the hotel! It was also such a nice surprise to have delicious quiche for breakfast!! This is now my favorite place to stay in Wyoming!! Thank you especially to the evening staff who provide me the history of the building and directed me to such a wonderful Thai restaurant for dinner. Such a wonderful staff!! Thank you all for the delightful stay!
Lovely old brick two story hotel inside the park. Helpful front desk. Quiet. But the reason we chose this place was because we were checking in late, and the mineral hot tub did not shut down at 11:00 pm. Tho it is small (maybe 8 people max?) I could get a good mineral soak any time. Before dawn with the birds was quite lovely. Excellent breakfast!! Friendly. I like this place. The swimming pool is outdoor and is closed 'till June. Summer only. Be sure to get a reservation. There is no such thing as off season any more.
A very quaint and unique hotel set inside the Hot Springs State Park. This historical hotel has a relaxed vintage feel with all the updates. It's clean, fresh, well appointed with unique furnishings and well thought out touches of special comfort. There are wrap around porches facing the interior of the hotel pool and mineral springs hot tub. Rockers welcome you to relax and enjoy the cool breeze and a great book. There are rooms that offer gas fireplaces that are great for winter. There's so much to do in the area to enjoy. Breakfast is included too! Walk in the park, soak in the hot mineral springs, view the Buffalo, tour the dinosaur museum, shop downtown stores and enjoy a relaxed town of friendly people!
nice place to visit had to get use to the smell of hydrogen sulfide and finding the designated smoking area substantially higher price on room per night but probally got more ammenities my daughter enjoyed it key cards had to be reset every day
Overall, this is a wonderful hotel for those in wheelchairs. The only issues, which are small, is that the bathroom mirror and sink are a little too high for comfortable access, and due to the furniture, the room is a a little crowded for wheelchair accessibility.
This hotel is so comfortable, well decorated and well kept. The rooms are beautiful and clean. This is a GREAT hotel. Hot Springs coming right into the hotel. Staff very pleasant and you wake up to a hot cooked breakfast that was very tasty and with lots of variety. The rooms are limited so if you can be one of the 33 families having the pleasure to stay, I would not miss it.
For a very small town, this is an excellent hotel. I would probably rate it a four star hotel. The rooms are significantly larger than expected. It felt like a bed and breakfast with significant pride to keep the place exceptional. The facility looks like a completely remodeled old school or apartment that has been re-done to new standards.
We have been coming to Thermopolis for several years- We ALWAYS stay at this wonderful motel- The staff have always been top notch and very helpful. The motel is beautiful and it always feels good to come here- We always come when the temps are cold and we use the hot tub all the time since it has the mineral water in it. It is a very comfortable place to stay. It is also extremely clean!! Very important to us.
My traveling buddy and I came to Thermopolis, Wyoming, deliberately, because it's the home of Hot Springs State Park and we wanted to visit the Wyoming State Bath House. We stayed at the Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel, which is on the grounds of the state park. It's a two-story brick structure built in 1918, and converted from apartments to a hotel at some point. The rooms were comfortable, the beds fine, and the wifi fast. I knew from a friend that the bathrooms had been recently remodeled, and they were lovely. I like a bathroom with glassed in shower and no tub. There were afternoon chocolate chip cookies and banana bread, too. Breakfast was hot and excellent, but featured the only drawback on our particular visit. It was only 7:30 a.m., but the dining area was closed off for a conference. This left only two tables in the lobby area, which were already in use. We had to sit in armchairs and juggle our meals on our laps. It was inconvenient in a first-world sort of way. I would recommend that conferences at the prime breakfast-eating time be held somewhere else. Other than that, we enjoyed our visit and would return, especially since it's so convenient to the hot springs. Oh yes, one thing more, and this is a huge plus - the outdoor pool wasn't open yet, but the hot springs mineral hot tub was, and it was magnificent. It was every bit as enjoyable as the state-run bath house. My old bones have never felt so pampered.
The hotel is very clean and staff were courteous.Complimentary Breakfast was delicious. A plus is the hot pool on site, just what was needed after hours on the road. Enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plaza.
My children and I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus. The hot tub was amazing. The check-in time was quick and easy. The hotel staff was very helpful with all of our questions. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. Thanks for such an enjoyable stay.
Well-appointed, very clean rooms built around a private pool fed by the local hot springs. Very friendly, helpful staff who take pride in their hotel and their jobs. Standard but perfectly decent free breakfast. Pretty plainly the best hotel in town.
This hotel is a favorite for our family. We love the ambiance, the relaxing hot springs tub, and the two room suites. We vacation here often. Great family spot for soaking, biking, hiking, sight seeing, and relaxing. This hotel is always exceptionally clean and all amenities are in great working order. The grounds around the hotel are a wonderful and open park. The location of this property is amazing. Great to be close to the hot springs pools, mountain biking, road biking, and hiking. This remains a favorite spot for our family trips.
Two years in a row - fun was had, quality service and amenities were provided. A smiling, professional staff, clean rooms, well kept up property. Love staying here when visiting the Hot Springs! This is the 2nd yr. I have taken my son and met family for a "Winter Warm Up" session. I appreciate how well taken care of the staff makes us feel!
This hotel is by far the best place to stay in town. Price is a little higher, but well worth the money. Rooms are all remodeled, clean and inviting. Log furniture, tons of windows. I stayed in a queen room with a soaker tub. If available, be sure to request one. Breakfast was great, service excellent. Quiet and convenient. Parking was a little tricky if you get in late. I will be back asap. Dana checked me in with no reservations, she was exceptional.
The stay was pleasant and the staff was very attentive and friendly. My family and I will be back to the same hotel again, This is the fifth year in a row that we have gone to this same place and we have not had any problems. I would recommend staying at this Best Western. The hotel is a re-modeled hospital and is a national historic building. There is a lot of neat history with the building.
Room was very nice. Staff was very accommodating. Breakfast was good. We chose this hotel for the historic background and the hot springs tub. Was disappointed in hot spring tub. It was not warm, nor very clean. Reese at the desk was great. He got the tub temperature up to where it should be. He also left a note for the next desk person to make sure tub was hot. The next morning tub was warmer. All in all, hotel was nice, but didn't warrant the price we paid.
We stayed in a king suite on the first floor. Besides the hideous furniture (that weird light colored raw tree type stuff), the room was nice. Looks as though it's been updated in the last couple of years. The problem was that we could hear everything from all the rooms around us. I could hear the people next door turn on their bathroom fan. The person above us was walking around like a normal person and it sounded like someone had let an adolescent elephant loose in there. So noisy. I was afraid it would wake up the kid asleep on the sofa bed in the living room. The mattress was incredibly hard as well. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was good.
Hotel is extremely clean, rooms are in excellent condition. However, the staff is extremely below acceptable standards. Room keys are continually deactivated. Check your receipt while at the hotel, they will charge you for someone else's room and give you that receipt.
The hotel itself is proably the best in town. Its next to the hot springs and has a natural hot tub on the premises. Thermopolis a great old western town and worth the visit and this hotel is the best in town.
Nice, clean and friendly. It is in a great location being in the Hot Springs State Park. No matter what season it is nice to enjoy the hot springs. I would recommend this stay for couples or family. Can't be beat in Thermopolis!
The Best Western is clean, comfortable, and right in Hot Springs State Park. The hotel staff were very friendly, courteous, and professional. It is a historic building, and very well maintained. The hot breakfast was excellent, and our room was quiet, clean, and nicely decorated with a wonderful large shower.
Best Western in Thermopolis is a great place to stay to experience the mineral baths without time limits imposed by the State Park. After a great soak - and the mineral bath is open 24/7 - you can walk directly to your room. Doesn't get any better than that. The rooms are comfortable, buffet breakfast is delicious, and the staff go out of their way to help their guests in every way. In my opinion it is the best place to stay in Thermopolis.
Had 3 days of a great hotel and soaking in their mineral springs to unwind. did not get up in time for breakfast but the local restaurants were very good and the staff at the plaze gave us great advice on where to eat.
We have not been to Thermopolis in awhile but were pleased to stay in this wonderful hotel just steps from the water parks. It was a very cold weekend and the rooms were clean, quiet and cozy. The bathroom was especially nice, updated, convenient and spotless.Friendly, helpful staff.
This is a great place to stay in Hot Springs State Park. They have a great mineral bath and a well kept historic property. The staff are wonderful and they went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. I really like the layout of the hotel and the courtyard.
I am thinking of retiring to Wyoming and checked out winter services. This motel was clean, comfortable, and an excellent value. I liked the spa with natural hot spring water. The breakfast was excellent and the coffee good.
We enjoyed our clean room, clean common areas, the hot water spa, coffee or tea available most of the day and fresh baked cookies around 3:00 pm. Top it off with friendly staff and a great breakfast! We will be back.
Loved the decor and the cleanliness of the room. We were offered express check out but didn't get it although we said we would like it. The walls were thin and people partying in the mineral spa until 2 am made sleeping very difficult
We booked the Best Western for a group of 38 high school students and 5 faculty. From the initial email contact, to setting the room rate, to walking in the door to a super organized room distribution, the staff at the hotel was professional, efficient, and super sweet! We needed to do some room shuffling and add cots, and the front desk staff and support crew could not have been more accommodating. The front desk crew also let us set up dinner in the dining room and store food in the kitchen, which made it easy to feed our students quickly and efficiently. We worked even harder to make sure the dining area was spotless when we finished because of the opportunity to use the space! A couple of other general comments. The facility was spotless with beautiful bathrooms, nice linens, and welcoming common areas. The location provided easy access to the major thoroughfares in town, but was just far enough off the main roads. The park on the east side of the hotel was great for our kids! For people who have difficulty with noise, bring something to mute the sound, as the walls were thin and easy to hear through. We look forward to staying at the Best Western Thermopolis again in the future!
I knew this was an older, renovated property when I made the reservation. I don't have anything really negative to say and will likely stay here again but this experience will hopefully help me know how to better plan for the next trip. When I arrived I was greeted warmly by Tyler who checked me in promptly and gave me directions to my room on the second floor. There are no elevators and I have a bit of a foot issue right now that makes stairs with a suitcase and heavy backpack very hard to negotiate. Tyler was very understanding and was able to make the change to a first floor room with two double beds...not a big deal since there's only me, right? Unfortunately I had some difficulty fitting into the bed, length wise. I'm not a tall guy but the footboard is taller than the mattress and I kept bumping my feet. Finally turned diagonal in the bed and slept pretty well the rest of the night. I couldn't get hot water to shave for the longest in the morning and finally discovered the single handle faucet had the hot and cold reversed...it just took a while. Good walk in shower, the room and bathroom met my expectations for cleanliness. The room configuration is such where I could hear some loud mouth guy in the next room talking on the phone for about thirty minutes. Fortunately, he finally settled down and I didn't hear anything more after that loud, profane conversation. Choices are limited in Thermopolis and this is probably better than the rest. I do think the rooms are a bit overpriced for the area and this particular property. One other thing, there is a decent bar across the street at the Days Inn if you would like a couple of beers and not have to drive afterward :)
Stayed there for business. Very comfortable, quiet and clean. Used the spa/hot springs hot tub which was very relaxing. The internet worked well and was ease to access. The breakfast was convenient. I will stay here again if I am in the area.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff was friendly, always available each time we visited the front desk and helpful with directions and things to do. The room was a suite which was perfect for traveling with a teenager. It was clean, nicely furnished and the bed was comfortable. Enjoyed the mineral spa which had just been cleaned. Breakfast was good. We will plan to stay here again on our next visit.
Years ago we passed through Thermopolis on a family vacation. We didn't stay but noticed how inviting the hot springs looked. Just over a week ago on our way to Yellowstone we decided to stay in Thermopolis. Comfortable property in a well renovated historic building with .....hot springs pool and hot tub. Wow!! We relaxed well, slept well, had a simple breakfast and look forward to returning.
This is a historic facility located inside Hot Springs State Park. The building is renovated and modern inside, but definitely retains the historic quality on the exterior. We were very impressed with the politeness, friendliness, and helpfulness of the staff, who seem to take a lot of pride in the facility and in providing the best service possible to their guests. The free continental breakfast was more than adequate to keep us from wanting to go elsewhere for a nice breakfast, and the kitchen attendant was always ready with a cheerful "good morning" and to provide assistance. The hotel location within the state park places it within easy walking distance to three hot springs pools as well as the walkways leading by the mineral springs and swinging bridge across Wind River. I made it a point to compliment the staff at the front desk at checkout that we were very impressed with our stay, and I don't often have the inclination to do that. We highly recommend the hotel.
We had planned to just spend one night, but after seeing our room (#222) we immediately made the decision to stay 2 nights. Historic building has been a hotel and apartments over the years. Lovely, comfortable room with beautifully appointed bathroom. Lots of outlets to plug in our electronics. Large TV. Windows on 2 walls made for a gentle breeze (a nice change from AC every night). Wonderful night sleep. Located in the park with public mineral springs; good restaurants and a movie theater within walking distance. Hotel has its own outdoor pool and hot tub which are hot spring fed (just remember to take off your jewelry as the springs will temporarily turn them black). Sulfur smell is common but not overpowering. Dustin at the front desk (and everyone we met on staff) was friendly, efficient and helpful. Free breakfast is standard fare. Within driving distance to the Wyoming Whiskey Distillery (closed on Sundays) and the Dinosaur Museum.
In the many times we have stayed in Thermopolis, I have always wanted to stay here due to the location close to the hot springs and love the look of the building. We really enjoyed this hotel. Breakfast was really good, waffles, pastries, cereal, coffee, juice, fresh fruit. They have really yummy cookies in the afternoons. Check in was fast and all the staff we spoke with was really nice. We got a room with a king and sofa bed. It was very nice because we had our own room and the front room with sofa bed was big enough we also used the aerobed we brought so our two kids could have their own bed. It worked out great. TVs in both rooms which was nice for relaxing and have separate TV for kids. They provided towels for hot springs, which was a nice perk to always have dry towels for trips into Tepee and Star Plunge. Great price when you include breakfast.Free wifi. Would highly recommend.
THE only place to stay in Thermopolis! Has its own mineral hot water in its spa. Its location is within Hots Springs park so also within easy walking distance of State Bath House (which is free to the public) and the beautiful walking trails around the hot springs. Also within walking distance of the buffalo pasture where you can walk and observe buffalo in a natural setting. Thermopolis has lots of things to do and see such as a nationally acclaimed Dinosaur Museum, an incredible history museum of local settlers, world class trout fishing within walking distance, and really good local restaurants.
The upgraded rooms, year-round natural hot spring fed hot tub, and surrounding park make the Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel in Thermopolis, WY, a delightful getaway. A relaxing stop to or from Yellowstone, or a worthy destination in its own right. Check out the dinosaur dig and museum nearby. Best in season for families, off season for couples.
Beautiful and comfortable decoration. Located inside the park permits walks by the river and gardens. The room furniture atractive and comfortable. Highly recomend this hotel. When we visited they only had the jacussi working recomend they keep the swiming pool open more hours.
Very nice place to stay =o) Rooms are beautiful, scenery was very beautiful as well. The smell was common for the surroundings. Could use maybe another exit, we were told there was only one entrance and one exit.
No other hotel in the area can compare to this historic jewel. Totally updated and beautifully appointed, this site offers the unique attractions of the area right outside your doorstep. The natural hot tub at the hotel is a wonderful added bonus. Staff are friendly and helpful, the the hotel a tremendous bargain for all you get.
I have stayed here many times in past years. The Plaza has changed into a nightmare. I had to change reservations and was given a smelly room with a very strong moldy odor. Running the bathroom fan 24/7 removed the odor. If the fan was turned off, the odor soon returned. The Plaza mineral srings spa is now open 24/7 in the courtyard close to rooms. I was awakened 3 times/night by guests in the spa- they were old enough to know better but acted more like they were raised by wolves. The Plaza use to be a really special place, now it seems like like the pits. Go there if you want to party on all night, otherwise you may be disappointed.
Warm, friendly, helpful staff. Go out of their way to help and make one's stay more pleasant. Delightfully decorated room and lobby area. Good breakfast choices. Great spa and hot spring pool at the motel.
Older Motel but with access to an internal corridor as well as door opening opening straight onto the car park. Handy when a huge storm hits and you don't want to get soaked going for dinner ! Rooms very clean, nothing fancy but definitely had updated bathrooms. Quirky restaurant and bar - food was nice too. Did not get to the Hot Springs State Park due to bad thunderstorm, but it's adjacent. Wish we could have visited but needed to press on next morning.
Well worth your consideration, especially if you are looking for an accessible room. The staff are courtious, helpful and very friendly. The location is wonderful and the town of Thermopolis is a quiet, welcoming community.
I loved my stay here mainly because their bathroom was updated and looked very fancy. The fixtures in the bathroom were really pretty. The room was small, but unlike other places the carpet was a brighter color so made it feel roomier.
