Rockhampton CBD and access to the arterials for North Rockhampton. It does however suffer with its location on a major thoroughfare such as Gladstone Road which has a fair volume of traffic. Room was tidy and neat, bed was comfortable but bath towel shredded upon first use as it had been washed and dried too many times. Room fridge was askew as one leg was missing/broken and toilet flushed and kept running. All fixable. Air con being on when you arrived would have helped on a 35 degree day.

First impressions count and the friendly welcome afforded by the receptionist and co-operator (as it turned out) left a good impression. Despite being on the main southern through fare into and out of the city, for the seven nights we were there noise was never a problem. The room was comfortable. Enjoyed a Continental breakfast the first morning and it was fine. The cereal serving was beyond generous. There was nothing bad about this motel; but it could be better. An investment in new pillows in the room we occupied would be welcomed by guests. The toaster needed de-crumbing before our first use. There was two dinner plates, three cups, three or four glasses, two knives and forks; but no cereal or "pudding" plates, and no spoons (apart from one tea spoon). In the seven nights we were there, the carpeted floor was not vacuumed; nor was the tiled bathroom/shower floors mopped. This was disappointing as the experience here was definitely not "bad". It just could have been better. More attention to detail would make this a very good place to stay.

5 star room, meals and service. Room was very clean and comfortable, owners very welcoming and helpful.

Visitor to Rockhampton for work. Staying for two nights - room was lovely -well equipped , clean and roomy. Staff at check in as well as kitchen/ restaurant were extremely friendly and helpful. They were outstanding and couldn't do enough to help. They are such an asset!

Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms, run exceptionally well with kind and caring staff. But the food is exceptional, I order the chicken schnitzel and mushroom gravy EVERY time I stay. I actually look forward to it as I travel for business!

All staff within the motel gave a happy and friendly welcome. It was like walking into your own home environment. This is amazing motel that provides the comfort of your own home. It is located in a beautiful quiet area.

The room was dated but comfortable. The bathroom was renovated and great. Unfortunately, right next to my door was an outdoor chair and ashtray and people sat and smoked there the whole stay. I asked to be moved and they didn't move me. They said people were allowed to smoke right next to my door. The smoke came into my room and it was horrible. Even though they asked the smoker to move, they didn't move the chair or ashtray. It made it a horrible stay.

Super clean room, comfy bed and wonderful service. Excellent meals. Highly recommend and will continue to be our Rocky layover base. Attention to detail is everything when you have a transient lifestyle and Cattle City has nailed it.

I called to let them know of a late arrival. I asked about restaurant hours and they advised they shut at 8 however could make a meal and keep under heat lamp until my arrival. This was very appreciated after a 9 hour drive. The room was clean and tidy. The check in was awesome and Breakfast was amazing. Meals big and also my steak was cooked to absolute perfection. Chefs usually overcook MR and this was on point.

A comfortable facility simply appointed. Friendly staff and a simple booking and check in process. Off road parking was available at no additional cost and close to our room. The room had a television, a great bed (although pillows were lacking) and hot water in the showe. WiFi is also complimentary. We were grateful breakfast facilities were available in the room on request.

I had an unplanned stay @ Cattle City courtesy of a cancelled flight. These guys were fantastic, thankfully they answered the phone, late at night. The room has been updated. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless.

The staff were very friendly and check in and check out were simple. The room had everything we needed and was nice and clean. Double blinds to manage the sun nicely and plenty of aircon units. We'll be staying here again if we're back this way.

Very warm welcome, excellent food was excellent and the bar, great range to pick from. The menu was awesome, basically good home cooked meal but better than any one could expect, just awesome. Couldn't be happier.

Very nice and tidy little units and comfortable beds gorgeous in side we will go be back. It was close to Aldis which was great, the only thing we didn't understand was they had a toaster but never had plates knives and forks

Bathrooms recently renovated and fresh looking. Rooms are comfy but need updating/modernizing a little Food in restaurant is just divine!!!!! One of the best steaks I've ever had. Bar well stocked too.

we have stayed here before. It is a lovely motel in Rocky. the room was large and very comfy with a wet room shower. We had a great chat with the proprietor who told us about the history of the place. Dinner was great meat of course! the steak and lamb were really good. highly recommended

The 4days and 3 nights that I and my travelling companion spent at the Best Western Cattle City Motor Inn hotel were just wonderful. We felt recharged! Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Accommodation clean. Mini bar well stocked. Free Foxtel and internet. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the size of the pool. But we did our exercises by enjoying the Botanical Gardens and the Zoo that are walking distance. We also visited beautiful Kershaw Gardens, then walked over the bridge to check out the historical buildings, including the pubs.

A Warm welcome, clean room, crispy sheets, room for bags (and stuff), bedside plug free for device charging, little bottle of real milk, fabulous ensuite (looks new), fluffy towels attached restaurant with home made meat pie and sticky date pudding to drool over! What more could we need - nothing! Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Good location and has it's own restaurant. Bathroom looked brand new and had a terrific shower, rest of the room was OK, spotlessly clean but could probably do with an update. Couch was comfortable as was the bed. Owners/Managers were very helpful.

Have been staying here for so many years we have lost count, always welcomed by Peter & Kathy. The rooms are always clean, the new bathrooms are great. The restaurant is always great food & service. The location is handy to supermarket, servo & less distance to the sale yards for us to travel daily.

We were travelling South from Cairns It had been a tough day having had a puncture and waiting by the road for RACQ. We were late getting into Rockhampton and drove past several dubious looking Motels.We stumbled across the Best Western WHAT A FIND !Great modernised room with excellent facilities.. The in-house restaurant and bar was a treat. A bit like a hidden secret. The Host Peter was brilliant He turned our disastrous day into an absolute pleasure Highly recommended.

This is our second visit to this hotel in the last month and it's just consistently good. The staff are great and the rooms are clean and well looked after. Definitely will return to this property on our next trip to Rockhampton.

Very comfortable and quiet room, extremely clean and bathroom was large and modern. I was grateful for a delicious room service dinner after a long drive from Bowen. Reception were friendly and helpful.

We were on our way home and searched for a suitable place for the night. Welcome was warm, room very good with what appeared to be a new bathroom. Room was well equipped. Bar frig stock with good assortment of drinks.

This is the 2nd time we stayed at at the Best Western Cattle City Motor Inn, Rockhampton this month. On both occasions we could not fault anything. The hosts were very welcoming and our rooms were very good. We were very comfortable in both rooms. Great beds and showers. On both occasions we ate at the Motor Inn's restaurant The Blue Heeler. We had different meals on each occasion and all four meals were superb. We will definitely stay at this Motor Inn when we next return to Rockhampton.

The Cattle City Motor Inn is a quality home away from home. After a long drive we are always so pleased to book into a beautifully maintained room and be met by very friendly hosts. The bathrooms are super clean and modern and the bed is so comfortable. We had such a good sleep. Their breakfasts are so good to get us going on the next day.

Not able to fault the Best Western Cattle City Motor Inn. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Lovely bathroom and a very, very comfortable bed. Staff were very welcoming and the food at the on site restaurant. We stayed in a top floor room which had very little traffic noise even though the hotel fronts the Bruce Hwy (A1).

I have stayed in many motels through work. However, I will always come back to the Best Western. I feel they offer the best all round service. All staff are polite and helpful. Always feel welcome with every stay.

We were on a road trip from Townsville to Brisbane. The room had been renovated and was modern, clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for us as we were driving south so was on the way out of town. We had dinner in the restaurant and thoroughly loved the meals and service from Peter.

The management and staff at Cattle City make you feel that welcome, its better than staying at home. The rooms are fresh and comfy, the meals are beautiful. Yuo can understand why Rockhampton is the beef capital when you eat one of their steaks. Petes Bar! You won't find a better selection of spiced rums.

Beautiful room, modern and up to date. With extremely clean facilities and the most comfortable beds we've had in a motel yet. The restaurant was cute and cozy with absolutely amazing food. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Will certainly always be a go to for us on future travels. Can not recommend this place enough.

From the moment we called to check if we could check in early, Kylie on reception (hope I got the name right), was very friendly, helpful and professional. She made us feel very welcome. Our rooms were clean, beds extremely comfortable and the renovated bathroom was amazing, especially the shower pressure and huge walk in showers. We booked for dinner at the restaurant. Once again Kylie was there in the dining room and behind the bar. The restaurant is lovely and charming and the food was excellent with generous servings of home cooked pub style meals. Must order the steak while in the beef capital! We all slept extremely well. Well done Best Western Cattle City! We will be sure to book in again on our next visit to the region. Highly recommend :)

I had been in Rocky a month at a couple of the local places but due to a booking error ended up in Cattle City, I was very surprised to find a great and quiet place to work where the staff even called me to find out what time I would need meals in my room. Fantastic amenities the shower had water pressure and the laundry did not require coins... highlight of my stay was the fresh pan fried fish from the kitchen with a great garden salad, will be the definite place of choice moving forward

Just spent one night in Rockhampton, and so glad we chose this gem! Bright white clean bathrooms and comfortable beds. Plus, delicious room service dinner. The warm welcome was appreciated after a very long drive.

Staying for business it's always a pleasure to come back to a motel where the rooms are clean, the bed is nice to sleep in and home cooked meals are given. Nothing is too much of a bother to satisfy needs of when I stayed. The Risoles, home cooked pies are just the best. Thank you to all the team and especially to Cathy and Pete for their warm honest reception whenever I stay.

Our short overnight stay was very pleasant. We had room service meals which arrived quickly and were Filling and hearty. Although the motel was on the highway we had no traffic noise. Our room was roomy and well appointed.

From the moment we picked up our keys to handing them back, we were made to feel like we were part of a special group. The manager could not have been more friendly or helpful. The room was large, clean and had everything we needed to make for a pleasant night.

Great service. Was super helpful with organising a early departure. Reallocated rooms, so we were on ground level, less hassle and noise, early in the morning. Rooms were super clean and new bathrooms were a great feature. Will be returning in the future!!

I have stayed with Best Western in the past and I have always been happy with the room and access to meals. The rooms have been upgraded and especially the bathrooms with showers that work and the hot water arrives quickly. The manager is extremely helpful.

We stayed for 2 nights in a king one-bedroom room. We liked it much and loved the fact of free Netflix and fast internet. Close to the city centre by car. Rooms are cleaned daily and friendly staff. Kitchenette good for breakfast and light meals to prepare in the room

I am an Area Sales Manager and am on the road most weeks through the Central Queensland area, so have experienced a lot of Motel stays. The Best Western in Rockhampton was the best Motel I have stayed in.

Friendly customer-focussed staff, spotless guest rooms, generous and delicious breakfast! The bathroom appears to have been recently updated. Outdoor areas were well maintained making sitting outside our room to eat breakfast pleasant, despite looking directly onto the carpark.

This is great place to stay. The hosts are brilliant and will look after you well. Recommended place to stay in Rocky. If you like Bundy Rum, stay here and have a look at the collection in the restaurant bar.

We stayed in the disabled unit which we were pleased to have. The room was very clean and well presented. Mine hosts Peter and Kathy were wonderfully helpful and provided a service second to none. The other staff were really good too. We stayed 2 nights on our way north and again 2 on the way back. The restaurant is a great experience. The food is excellent as is the staff. After a long journey the check in was easy, the room was clean comfortable and quiet, the guess instructions were easy to follow and the fridge stocked with plenty to make your stay pleasent. Overall this was a great place to rest on our long journey.

My room/unit was spacious - the huge advantage of older vintage accommodation. Well cleaned and cared for. New bathroom/shower/toilet area was nice. Aircon worked very well and not noisy. Convenient location and convenient compact but nevertheless readily navigable layout of the complex. On-site restaurant provided a nice evening meal and quiet place. Room service breakfast was good but a couple of tweak would have improved it.

Clean, fresh and comfortable rooms. Personal customer service. Great restaurant on site. Lovely pool. Easy parking. Close to the zoo. Great for families, couples and corporate stays. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely unsafe. Couldn't use any facility unaided. Rang in person to book with specific requirements nothing was as requested. Wasted $ 160 .00 That's why I'm still awake writing this review. Not safe enough to have My Mother wake up unaided.

The room provided met all our needs with the exception that the king size bed was so close to the wall I had to climb over the end of the bed to get in and out of bed.. The bed was comfortable. Room service and meal was excellent. We understand that this disability room had not be renovated. Despite only being my wife and I with the need of a disability room we were charge the family room rate. The toilet in our room constantly dripped and you hear people through the night flushing there toilet. A disability shower chair was provided free of charge a big bonus.

First of all $220 is ridiculously overpriced for a glorified caravan park cabin style room. Dated 1980s style furnishings and Decor were making me feel as if I was at my 76 year grandmas house. Bathroom appears to be renovated tho and was quite nice. Although, the water seemed to drain in the opposite direction, creating a pool of water and a major slip hazard. It was as if I had just hoped out of the shower and into the bath. Seemed more like a caravan park with every man, dog, motor home and JetSki staying the night. Maronic southern had parked an excessively large ice cream style van (mini school bus) and large JetSki directly in the entrance driveway. This significantly restricted accessibility into the tight,small parking area. People with caravans, boats and trailers had taken up 2 car parks each, resulting in guests having to park in garden bed. This made it even harder to get vehicles in and out of an already small parking area. No kitchen at all. All it had was a bar frigde and small caravan size kettle. No milk in fridge for coffee.

Peter & Kathy and their staff treat every guest like family. Relax at the bar and then have a meal in the restaurant. Awesome menu, well prepared and presented. Cannot fault anything! Highly recommend staying at this property.

So restful and pleasant for an overnight stay in Rocky. Spotlessly clean and having top quality furnishings made this the best choice among the array of cheaper options on offer. The host was very friendly and helpful explaining the services available fully. Had eaten in the classy restaurant on site before so tried the nearby Allenstown Hotel which provided an insight into historic Rockhampton. The walk back in the cool of dusk was a highlight of my visit. I will definitely stay again.

We have stared at the Best Western Cattle City Motor In on numerous occasions over the last few years and have never been disappointed. Peter & Kathy are extremely professional, polite and customer focused Managers. They run an excellent business and are continually updating/renovating their Units. The Restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, with a set of Bull Horns proudly displayed above the bar. The food is absolutely delicious & the serving sizes are quite large. Whenever we stay here I cannot go past their delicious steaks, which are always cooked to perfection, and the home-made Dianne sauce is by far the best I have ever tasted. This Motor Inn is exceptional value for money and, whilst Peter & Kathy are in charge, it will continue to be our place to stopover whenever we are travelling through Rockhampton.

This was the best accommodation and service we received in the whole trip. The room was spacious and very clean. Good position away from the highway. Peter gave us exception customer service both at reception and later in the restaurant. The food was cooked very well, good portion size and priced well. Would stay there anytime. Provided take away coffee at reception.

Thursday night on-route to Brisbane from Mossman FNQ, decided to stop off in Rockhampton, glad i did, you wont get better service or food and the room was very clean and tidy, being an old dinosaur with not many teeth i always eat fillet steak when available, having been away from home for six weeks i would of consumed six fillet steaks at various location in FNQ, the majority of which resulted in one third of each unchewable. From start to finish every mouthful was delectable with not one unchewable mouthful ejected, i wont be staying at the creighton hotel again !!!!!!!

We overnighted here on our way to the Whitsundays from Brisbane. The purpose was just to sleep and get on the road again first thing in the morning. This motel was perfect for that! The location is right on the A1, which means a lot after a day of driving. The room was well equipped with a full mini bar, recently remodeled bathroom, and microwave/fridge. The pleasant surprise was the motel's dinning room. It isn't anything fancy to look at but the food was delicious. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast there which was soooo convenient. The staff is lovely. Really nice place for a stopover.

On highway which we wanted, easy access for early departure, room very clean with everything needed including toaster(but no plates to put toast on). Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Close to restaurant and also had one on site for breakfast and dinner. No cover for car was a negative.

Stayed here overnight when travelling to Brisbane. The rooms are nice with everything you need (including microwave) and the bed is comfy. The bathroom is small but functional and very modern. There is also plenty of off-street parking. However, in rooms at the front of the motel the road noise is horrendous. Cars and trucks drive past at all hours and it sounds like they're just outside your door, even with the door and window shut. Made for a very unpleasant night. I would stay here again but bring earplugs or stay in a room down the back (assuming they are less noisy).

Attention to COVID 19 requirements were excellent, extremely clean and well presented. Food was very good and freshly prepared. Breakfast was great. Well managed and very well presented and the management and staff were great.

Good value with great meals. Hosts are great people too where nothing is too much trouble. I stay in the rooms up the back where there is no road noise. Rooms have been renovated recently. Plenty of undercover car spaces too

Cattle City is a wonder motel to stay at . Pete and Kath are just wonder . Karen and Kath cook a bute meal. The Bar is brilliant great selection and Pete service is second to none. The rooms are always so clean.

Not a bad couple of nights. Not the Ritz, but pretty good for Rocky. Comfortable bed. Refurbished bathroom. Breakfast and dinner were quite good. Big servings. Lots of meat. Cheesecake was just too big. Other guest smoking outside means cigarette smoke gets sucked in by bathroom fan.

We stayed 1 night in a room that had a queen bed and single. The room was very clean and nice. Bathroom looked newly renovated and room had been modernised. Queen bed was comfy. My child said the single wasn't too bad. Reception staff very friendly. Lots of extra toiletries etc available if needed at no extra cost. There was a little bit of traffic noise from the highway but nothing that would keep you awake. Restaurant and room service available. All in all we had a very nice 1 night stay here and would stay again.

Lovely spacious well laid out 2 bedroom unit. Beds were comfortable, sheets good quality & the air conditioners quiet. The included breakfast was ample & tasty. The laundry was free to use and the laundry powder supplied. The staff were friendly, accomodating & generous. After staying at several other motels & units in our travels to the Gold Coast,from Townsville, this was the best. Good value & good quality. We would definitely book ahead to stay here again when next travelling through.

Lovely motel catering for townies as well as country folk. Refurbished rooms are modern clean and functional. All staff as well as the owners are welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Restaurant has a good menu and great selection of wines beers and spirits. Great steak!!

The motel was good value. The room was comfortable and everything worked. We had a meal in the restaurant which was enjoyable and reasonably priced. The motel was easy to find and the staff were helpful.

Excellent location with great accommodation. Will need to improve the pool facilities for kids to enjoy. Also, my first stay was cheaper than my recent stay so I would have preferred to be charged the same rate as my first stay.

Had a relaxing stay, easy checkin and checkout with friendly host. We had an easy walk to look at some shops. Great breakfast. We were travelled to Rockhampton in a cattle truck and found easy parking on the side street beside the motel.

This is the only place my company put us up in each year for our trip to Rockhampton and we wouldn't have it any other way. The place is well kept, rooms always clean, and the amenities up to date. The staff and owners are some of the friendliest people you will ever meet.

I've stay in a few motels in Rockhampton and this is the best Motel by far. The owners are very warming and they have a great staff to back them up. The food was great and the service was quick. Very comfortable rooms and the new bathrooms are a delight to use.

I had a very pleasant two night stay here just before Easter 2019. I picked it with a pin but a local friend of mine instantly reassured me when I told her that it was a great choice. Very central, very clean, affordable & nice and quiet. The bathrooms have been completely renovated just recently. I dined in-house both nights I was in Rocky (first night in The Blue Heeler restaurant and the next night I enjoyed room service). Both experiences were top notch. Breakfast was good too. Clearly Kathy & Pete take great pride in the place and they know what they're doing.

Great motel close to food spots and easy access to parks, etc. Best bathroom and comfortable beds in this price range we have experienced in a long time. Very friendly and helpful staff on arrival with very quick service. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very inviting and clean. We didn't use the resturant, but the menu looked reasonable.

February 2019 stay - 3 adults. Older style motel but clean with comfortable beds. Had dinner at restaurant - food was excellent. Continental breakfast very basic, but you can order a cooked breakfast. Very quiet even though on main road. Directly across the road from a liquor outlet and a service station. Only problem was a faulty sliding door to the bathroom. Hotel in the process of a renovation so rooms should be upgraded next time we are through Rockhampton.

Excellent value and quality. Veing on thr correct side of the road to head south out of town is great. Being on a main road I was worried it would be busy and noisy. But I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was.

It was late, I called ahead as I had been travelling for 14 hours and was extremely tired, the manager suggested a fee that I was agreeable to and accepted. The manager and staff were very courteous and friendly and the accommodation was clean, modern and very tastefully appointed. I will definitely be staying again. I generally ask to see a room before committing to stay, but because I was so tired I did not this time, but was more than satisfied with the accommodation. Excellent.

Stayed 1 night only. Asked to see the room prior to checking in as we had not booked - staff obliged and were friendly and efficient. Room 26 was back from the main road and fairly quiet and clean. King size bed was very comfortable and spare pillows were available. However, shower dripped all night - we did leave a note as we checked out early. Restaurant opens at 6.00 pm and the service and the food were both top rate. Home made cheesecake with a delicious, thin biscuit base and lightly rum flavoured filling made for a pleasant change from the usual desserts.

Rooms were spotless , restaurant meals were absolutely amazing, best 400gm rump steak ive had in a long time, kids loved their meals , our daughter even had creamy garlic seafood sauce on her kids steak , the kids chicken nuggets are house made not processed crap , highly recommend going to see peter and kathy on your next trip to rockhampton

Service was freindly and welcoming at all times, room was very clean and comfortable. Food in the restaurant and breakfast was fantastic, I ate in the restaurant a few nights in a row and had breakfast each morning, and every meal I had was great. Nice quiet place to stay. No complaints from me at all.

We spent one night here and had a pleasant stay. The check in was easy and the gentleman was nice and helpful. The room was very clean and tidy with everything you need, it was nice to have a separate lounge and coffee table. There was a big bench for the suitcases and good size desk area. The bathroom had plenty of room with the liquid amenities provided, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. coffee and tea making facilities and a stocked bar fridge in case you don't want to go out. There is a restaurant onsite open Monday to Saturday and room service available too. This hotel has easy access in to town and although it's on the highway we didn't hear the traffic.

Stayed at The Best Western Cattle City Motor Inn overnight when travelling through. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We ate dinner at the onsite restaurant and found the all the staff to be very friendly and helpful from check in and check out at the front desk to the restaurant and breakfast staff. The meals were good and the beers cold. We had a good sleep and were well rested for our onward journey.

The home cook meals are brilliant , try the seafood basket it's fresh and brilliant if you can finish it you can also try the tender rib or make your own stir fry yum . The bar has best section especially if you like rum or bourbon and for a motel beers too.

From Hervey Bay Qld we travelled to Rockhampton, we thought this Motel might be a bit out of town but it was great would stay there again, helpful owners we were tired and ready for a break and a drink (which we were able to buy at the desk) and a snack (which we had). Our Motel neighbours were great and obviously had been there before. Room was very comfortable. It was Sunday night and restaurant was closed but we were able to order a delicious meal. Highly recommend.

I stayed with three children in an average sized room. We had the option of breakfast which was very well prepared and laid out in the morning in their generous restaurant area. We had room service from their menu which were very large sized and very delicious. The room was adequate. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The only downside was the use of shower curtains with kids. Never works and water was everywhere in the bathroom. Nice staff and on the main road which was good for travellers.

It was comfortable enough but quite dated. We had travelled a long way from Cairns and needed to put the contents of our Esky in the fridge, but it was full up with soft drinks, chocolates and other junk food, so we had to remove the alcoholic cans etc before we could use it. Also the shower had the wrong type of tiles on the floor, that were wall tiles and very slippery. I shampoo'd my hair then had to cling on to the wall fittings as I made my way along the very long wall to the towel rail, hoping I wouldn't slip over. It is just a matter of time before some poor unsuspecting person goes a cropper. We arrived around 8pm and stopped by the Chinese restaurant for a takeaway. But there were no forks or knives supplied by the motel so we had to eat it with a tiny teaspoon. Hmmm.

We had a terrible night here. The room was spacious enough and clean and the staff were very pleasant but the proximity to the main road made it very noisy until late at night and again from early in the morning. Both of us struggled to get a good nights sleep. Some of the rooms are closer to the road than others, maybe we were unlucky!

We were in town overnight and this suited our needs. Clean room, good water pressure and even a windscreen washer for our use. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a delicious evening meal and a substantial breakfast. Our only issue was that we could not connect to the free Wi-Fi in our second floor room or on the balcony.

We have stayed at the Cattle City a number of times over the last few years and have always been very satisfied. The rooms are a good size and always clean and comfortable. The owners are friendly and accommodating. There is a restaurant (that we have also eaten at and found to be enjoyable) and rooms have a well stocked mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. There is a very nice hotel within a 10 minute walk that specializes in steaks. The Cattle City is located on the Southern side of town it is easily accessible and close to a BP service station for a quick refuel. The owners went out of their way to solve a problem for us and also were helpful when we needed to park an oversized vehicle on site.

The room is very clean.Fully stocked bar fridge, ironing board and iron are a blessing..breakfast menu checks out just fine.Quiet considering you are on main road out of town.Limited power points which is a bit of a nuisance if you have multiple devises needing a charge.

Very comfortable room. Welcomed warmly by the hosts. Had a great dinner in the restaurant as well as breakfast the following morning. Would have liked to stay there on our way home but didn't make it that far.

The Thai wife and I stayed here for a night recently. We were not expecting to return to Rockhampton for a second night so when we did, we didn't have a reservation. We drove around our preferred area and liked the look of this motel. We were delighted a room was available. We parked immediately outside our room. The car space was well covered, a great bonus for the car and also provide a cooling effect for the room. The room was spacious and pretty standard for a Queensland country motel. Everything was clean and worked. The wifi was strong and stable. We decided to wash some clothes and were delighted to find the washer and dryer were both free. We slept well and were quite surprised next morning to find there were only three cars in the car park. Clearly the motel was not that busy and this surprised us both given it is well located, well maintained and priced right. We took breakfast in the dining room and again were impressed that despite there being few pax that night, a very nice breakfast was laid out. In addition, the hot meal orders were taken and were hearty. This motel delivers a solid service.

Traveling in a group of 7 Motorcycles, Kathy & Peter were able to accommodate us with our requests for ground floor rooms (as 2 of our Vietnam Veterans' would not cope with climbing stairs). Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable, I cannot fault this great place. The location is perfect for those wanting a cold drink before the Bar & Restaurant opened as there is a drive-through bottlo straight across the road and also a service station to fuel up for the next day. The staff, from Kathy & Peter (managers), the Chef and Waitress were all very friendly and professional. The food was Outstanding! Atmosphere in the dining lounge / bar was very pleasant, we all had a ball. Even on the return trip, we all stopped back in although not in one group, we found the service just as, if not better, having already gotten to know the staff previously. I highly recommend this Motel as a great place to stay if you need accommodation in Rockhampton, I know I will be staying there again on my many trips up and down the state.

We stayed on 15th. It was good, nice room nice food, good price. Talked with the staff, we decided to stay on the way back a few days later on our way home. Last night when we stayed there again, our room was still very nice, tidy, spacious. The price advertised on Booking.com was as the same as we stayed the other day, but, with the same meals, one less drink we were charged extra 21 dollars. A bit hard to comprehend their logic. I would advise you if you are a returning customer you d better check with them about pricing. They seem having not had interest to develop goodwill.

Room was perfect sized, airconditioner worked wonderfully. The meals .. omg the meals were surpassed only by the staff's friendliness (from kitchen staff, to room attendants to front reception). Highly recommend a stay here.

Clean, comfortable bed, roomy, full fridge with adequate milk, good size clean bathroom, friendly owners, great restaurant with a good menu and meals were perfecto after a long drive! Couldn't ask for more and one of the best stays we have had along this highway that we have been travelling for 30 years! Big ?

Great motel for all travellers, Peter and Kathy are great hosts, always a friendly face and excellent service. The location is very good. Rooms are always in great condition and the whole property is well looked after. At the bar and restaurant everyone feels welcome and Peter and Kathy make sure they know your name and get people talking. Great stay.

easy to find nice people and great food i had the reef fish and veg cooked to perfection very moist fish the staff encouraged me to stay as long as i wanted and i didn't feel like a guest i felt like a long lost friend . The rooms where very clean and well presented

The room was clean and tidy but very old and outdated. The bed felt hard and uncomfortable. There was no access to the advertised Foxtel/Cable TV. Management was rude and condescending. Bring your own coffee and washing powder.

I rated 5 stars for a combination of reasons. Ok the room we stayed in was oldish, but very tidy and spotlessly clean. Most importantly the owners were just like family friends. Off street parking, free wifi, laundry, restaurant and room service. Pretty damn good value in Rocky and with a smile.

Staying two nights, was thankful for tucked away room. Good parking. Spotless Room. Mini bar if you have that late night snack thing. Comfy bed, clean perfection, and making up my room it was a joy to come back to after a hectic day. The restaurant is also such a delight, even for a solo diner, due to the hospitality of managers, and the well cooked meals. Beef steak and vegies with chips that taste like the potato was just peeled. Salmon with vegies, and again perfection and good servings. Walked back to my room each evening feeling safe and comfortable which is value to me.

The room that we stayed in was very comfortable and spacious - perfect for our family. We decided to stay in the same hotel/room on the return visit of our trip. Staff were friendly and followed up on items that we accidently left in the room. The kids enjoyed the free wifi and 2 TV's.

We needed somewhere to stay after a late check out from the hospital. Staff where very friendly and accommodating. Check in was very quick. We stayed in the disabled room. It is huge. Beds are super which is exactly what i needed. They were very accommodating to our needs. We were very appreciative of them. We will definitely be staying here again when we need to do an another over-nighter.

Love staying at the Cattle City . Pete and Cath are brilliant , the food is fantastic , try the Fishman Basket , good luck to finish it. The Bar is mind blowing . Its like a second home . I always look forward to stay at the Cattle City .

The room was very neat and tidy, older room but kept in immaculate condition. The staff could not have been more lovely and helpful. You felt like you were part of the family from the time you arrive.

A clean and tidy motel on the main road. Unlike others though, the room I had here was quiet, and there was no midnight rumble from passing semi trailers. However, even in the depths of winter, we needed a fan going as there is no air circulation because of the lack of windows. Reception staff were friendly. Rooms were clean. Smokers are banished to the car park, which means you have to walk through a plume of smoke to get to your room.

We have stayed here a number of times when travelling though on long road trips with three children in tow. It is a great place to stay overnight as it is on the highway and close to fuel stations and family friendly food outlets. We arrived after 7pm and were welcomed and our room still had parking right outside the door. In previous trips when there have been five of us the family room was upstairs which made taking luggage more difficult but the room was laid out well and had a separate space for the children.

The only room still available at an acceptable price was the smallest one , I'm sure. Known as "The Closet" it is aptly named yet still large enough for one person to spend a night. The shower was hot with plentiful water and the bed was not bad at all. All the usual amenities were at my disposal. A large window opened onto a private area allowing me to have fresh air while resting after my long drive south. The highlight of my stay was dinner at the motel's Blue Heeler Restaurant where I was looked after to perfection by the kindly host.

Love these older style motels where you can park the bike straight outside the motel room. It was also a bonus that the carpark was flat. Location of the motel right on the highway was very convenient (petrol station directly opposite) and whilst this motel has been around a long time- the room was clean and the air conditioning quiet. I would be only too happy to stay at this establishment again. Good value for money.

Stay here on our way back home kids loved the pool. The owners are very friendly there is a restaurant or you can get room service which the meal was delicious highly recommended staying here for leisure or business rooms and very nice and very clean

Arrived later than expected at the Motel, but had no problem finding our room key in the security coded box. Room was lovely, bed comfortable. Highlight was the Main Boss organising a staff member to bring my wife, who has mobility issues, an ample and delicious breakfast tray to our room. Most welcome albeit unexpected. My Son and I had our breakfast in the restaurant. Checkout was easy and staff were helpful and professional. Would recommend this Motel to anyone.

My family chose Rockhampton as our stop over after travelling from Ingham North Queensland to Brisbane for the Easter school holidays! There is a lot of accomodation to choose from in Rocky and were guided by other travellers reviews and we were not disappointed! Rooms are clean tidy and beds comfortable! We booked our accomodation prior to the flooding but maintained regular contact with the owners who were super friendly and accomodating and gave us instructions to get there with the flooding in the area. We enjoyed our stay so much that we booked in on the way home! Thank you very much to the owners, your service to your customers in a credit

We stayed at the Best Western Cattle City Motor Inn a couple of weeks ago. It has a wonderful guest laundry that I took advantage of. The unit was spacious and well appointed. Comfortable firm bed. We had a meal in their restaurant and throughly enjoyed it. We also noticed locals dining there. ( I always take this as a good sign) Would we stay here again or recommend it to others. YES YES YES.

One got excellent service from the owners right from the start,our room was very clean and tidy free WiFi and plenty of TV channels we had dinner in the Restaurant which has a western feel about it and good old country and western music the food was very good and the bar service was great........ the motel is away from the CBD but on the main drag heading out of Rockie. good value for money would stay again.

Excellent room. Nice air-conditioning. Room service from the dining room was fantastic - beautifully cooked meals with excellent service. The host who greeted us on arrival after driving all day was lovely and made everything easy. We have stayed here before and will stay here again in Rockhampton. We had a very bad experience with another hotel once, and this place makes up for it every time.

I had to book accommodation the night before I arrived, and got a great deal on a room. The room was neat and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the shower was just like home. Parking onsite which was handy, and it was close to town. I ordered room service which was quick, and the meals were generous and good value. Not too sure about paying an extra $5 for the sauce on my steak though. Overall, this was a good option on a budget.

Pleasant 2 night stay at the Cattle City Motor Inn – the hosts Peter and Kathy made my stay memorable by the quality of service and friendly demeanour. The meals were excellent, great value for money the rooms clean and tidy, well presented, 1st rate facility

We stayed here for an overnight stop. The room was basic but ok for one night. It had a fridge with mini bar, was air conditioned etc. It had a comfortable settee in the room. Bar prices were high, got room service meal which was ok, but nothing special.

Our family stayed here for an overnight stay during our road trip from Brisbane to Townsville. Our room consisted of 1 double bed and 2 singles. Overall, room was clean, beds comfy, a/c cool and mini bar stocked. There is a restaurant here open for breakfast and dinner however we didn't try it. Would happily stay here again on our next road trip.

Fast WiFi, very clean, friendly & accommodating staff, free laundry, comfortable beds, reasonably large room with two chairs & space to lay out luggage, thick towels, good air conditioning, quiet motel. Restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings.

The motel is clean and tidy. We parked undercover at the back of the complex. Rooms were large and quiet. We ate at the restaurant but were not impressed with the food - it was reasonable but overpriced and when 1 dish was delivered was missing [at least 2] of the advertised components. Also am a bit critical that Best Western actually charge a fee if you pay on MasterCard or Visa and the rooms are a bit overpriced.

With all that happened to Me in July, they understood. If I need a motel in Rockhampton, this will be my first place to go. I ended up going up in August & i did stay here excellent place to stay. From the moment you check in you are greeted with a friendly face & smile. The room was brilliant, clean. I choose a queen room again, the bed was comfortable, with adequate pillows & the AC worked like a charm (also was quiet, u never knew it was on). The bathroom had a small bathtub under the shower (great if u are a long stayer & needed to shave your legs or have lil children), they have Natural shampoo/ conditioner/shower gel/shaving cream/hand wash/body moisturizer & enough of towels, in the vanity cabinet i found a hairdryer (I travel with my own but i thought it was a nice touch). We ordered Breakfast for each morning, which I must say didnt disapoint either. A great place to stay while in Rocky. I will be glad to say this place didnt disapoint in any way shape or form. The only thing that was disapointing was i didnt get to stay there in July however that isnt the Motels fault at all.

Perched on the Southside, we found this very nice little motel. Rooms were large with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. Handy to restaurants, pubs and access, this is a nice property to stay at.

Stayed one night, friendly check-in. We requested ground floor unit and even though the motel is on the main road through town there seemed to be very little road noise. Room was very well appointed and the shower was amazing (would love that pressure in my home shower) and what was needed to sooth stressed muscles. Room service dinner was wonderful so would presume that the Restaurant would be the same. Same went for the breakfast. Very close to the C.B.D. and minutes from the University. All in all a very pleasant stopover and we will be back.

Great for the business traveller. It really is your home away from home. Good location on the Highway 1 on the Southside of Rockhampton. Plenty of undercover parking, no issues getting my dual cab 4x4 in. Perfect!

Check in staff was great and very helpful with how to get around and nice places to eat. Room was a little dated but clean and well looked after bathroom was lovely and roomy. Well worth the price as it wasn't too expensive will definitely be back.

The motel was very clean and well maintained. This motel was quiet, had a good sized bedroom with a couch. It has Foxtel and free Wifi. The price for our room was very reasonable. The motel has a restaraunt and provides breakfast.

We would have preferred a ground floor unit as we struggle carrying luggage up stairs, however were advised none were available. Nonetheless, the room was large, clean, good amenities, great bed. Ate in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast, both of which were great. Good friendly country service.

We stopped here for 2 nights after 3 weeks on the road through the red centre and top end. Our room was a good size and very clean and modern with a great bar stock. The hotel staff were very welcoming and the onsite restaurant is very homey and the food is very generous and tasty. The hotel is in a great location and is very quiet.

Standard room, clean and with a good sized bathroom which you don't often find. What made this stay great was the food - in their restaurant and breakfast room service. After a week & a half of travelling and eating a lot of takeaway type foods, we were craving a home cooked meal. Their meatballs were amazing...big, made with premium mince and cooked perfectly. Tasty gravy & veges topped it off. Oh so good, was exactly what we needed. Compliments to the chef!! The owners were personable and do a great job running this motel/restaurant. Thanks.

I recently stayed here on an overnight business trip. Was looking for a value motel as it was one night. I was really surprised by everything here, staff were friendly & helpful, room was basic but clean & well maintained. Had dinner at the onsite restaurant which was very tasty & served quickly. All in all a great place, I'll return.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit for 2 nights. The kitchenette and lounge/dining room was a good size and very clean. The beds were comfortable and clean with air cons in each. The bathroom had a huge spa bath with shower overhead. The water was hot and the shower was strong. A bright and airy unit. The management were friendly and helpful with directions. All in all it was a good place to stay.

I love staying here. The staff are very welcoming and, for a person who spends a lot of nights away from home, this is a standout property. Always feel welcome here, Peter and Cathy are great hosts. The rooms are always clean and well presented. Checking in and out are a breeze.

Welcoming staff, well catered room, the complementary shampoo, conditioner and washes one of the best supplied in any stay over last several years. Which was not a tiny individual item but a secured pump pack type. Proximity to shops and other facilities was good including large charity shop nearby.

The welcome we received when checking in made us comfortable before we opened the unit door. The unit had obviously been renovated and it was clean with a nice bathroom area. It contained a comfortable couch for watching TV or reading. There were no food preparation facilities but the motel had a restaurant praised by other Trip Adviser reviewers. There were mini-bar facilities within the refrigerator and elsewhere in the unit. Prices for the various items were reasonable We liked having bed lamps on both sides of the comfortable bed enabling both of us to read prior to going to sleep. The split system air conditioner was virtually noiseless and kept us cool during the night.

I'm not usually one to name and shame a business - but this stay was just memorable for all the wrong reasons ??. First off parking is a nightmare, the shower kept going from cold to hot to the point myself and my children were burnt , the aircon was to small for the room and having it set to the standard 25 degree is pointless, to top everything off the room was filled with mosquitoes ( not just one -a swarm of them) which made sleeping near impossible. My worst sleep yet and that's saying something for a mother of 3 who is currently in the final weeks of pregnancy number 4! Very disappointing specially for the price we paid ????

We stayed for two nights but would happily have stayed longer Very friendly staff, easy to find & parking on site. Nicely situated out of town but close enough for a short drive to restaurants etc We upgraded and the room was very comfy & clean. for those wanting a bath it was a bit on the small side but shower was a nice size. The Hotel sign is easily spotted even at night

This was a great stay. Reception staff was very friendly. We were given a room upgrade, which was very nice. The room was very clean. Location along the A1 Highway takes you downtown in minutes. Perfect bed. There was just nothing to complain about.

Suite number 24 had two bedrooms, and all the conveniences that travellers require which included free laundry and drier. My only reservation was that our room was far too close to the main road that runs through the centre, the A1, so was somewhat noisy. On the other hand the restaurant served an incredible evening meal! The home made pepper, see photo, was a pie with chips and veggies. My Seafood basket was immense! Two large reef fillets, prawns, scallops, calamari, chips and salad all beautifully breadcrumbed and freshly prepared: definitely not out of a packet! Peter and Kathy were the perfect hosts and made our evening complete. Thank you.

The room amenities are quite nice, very clean and certainly not cramped which was good. Bathroom.... well this needs some updating that's for sure, its clean, but old. Can't remember the last time I had a shower with a plastic shower curtain in a motel. BUT the restaurant! Look if you don't mind waiting & waiting & waiting for your meal ok. But there were only a handful of people in the room and only 2 who had ordered and that was a good ten minutes earlier so to wait over 45 mins having paid top dollar for a steak that in quality and cooking I could have got at the pub across the road for 1/2 what I paid there is more than a bit off putting. Will consider staying in the rooms again, just pass on the restaurant (so much more wrong with the meal but I'm not reviewing the restaurant so I'll leave it). Staff were friendly and very pleasant and this is a better than average place overall.

Visited this hotel with 3 people in our group. Stayed in room with 1 queen and 1 single bed. Everything was clean and to our satisfaction. Had dinner in the restaurant and had the grain fed steaks of course. Great food however a little pricey and took some time to arrive. Lucky we were not in a hurry. Would return if we pass Rocky again.

Excellent accommodation and restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable with everything you need including tea and biscuits. It's located on the highway into Rocky with bottle shop handy. We had dinner in the restaurant and the steak and steamed veggies were outstanding. Hosts were fantastic as well and they have a great selection of rums which is great if you want to try.

The staff were amazing - friendly, helpful and accommodating. The room had three beds (for parents, a 15 year old lad, and a 12 year old girl. We were able to work well together with the bathroom being the major place to dress as well as it's other important duties. For a stop over to and from we arrived and had the kids swim for an hour in the pool - salt-water. All in all it was a pleasant experience.

This is a great place to stay in Rocky. When others put up their prices because of 'things happening', this place keeps theirs down. They are friendly and the beds are HILTON style for comfort with great pillows. The shower is fantastic with heaps of room to move. They have a great little restaurant with amazing food. I have stayed lots of places in Rockhampton for work and leisure but you cannot go past this one.

We booked in for one night on our way down the Queensland coast. The room was clean and perfectly adequate. The shower pressure was excellent which is always nice after a long day. The room had Foxtel, air conditioning and decent wifi speed (included in the cost). While we had a room close to the highway, our sleep was not disturbed. The beds were also comfortable. The motel's restaurant was excellent - great home cooked food at a reasonable price.

Rooms are a good size, very clean and have everything you need in a place to rest on your way up or down the Queensland coast. On site restaurant food was adequate and priced accordingly. Friendly helpful hosts.

My partner and I were extremely happy with our recent stay at Best Western Cattle City. Our room was very spacious, clean and modern. The bed was super comfy and the shower was hot with good pressure. Reception will provide you with free wifi login and the room was well stocked with shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion and plenty of towels. I was concerned about the road noise due to Best Westerns busy location but once inside the room we could barely hear a thing. All the staff I interacted with both in person and over the phone were very polite, friendly and helpful. The only thing I would note is that car parking, while ample, is a bit tight. Those with SUVs (like us) need to be extra careful when parking

The location was excellent, easy to head in either direction. We found it to be quiet and peaceful, comfortable, clean, light and good hot water in the ensuite, which was large enough to navigate easily, well laid out and functional. There was a fridge, a closet, enough bench space and comfortable beds. The air con worked beautifully and the staff were extremely helpful. We spent 2 nights there in an upstairs room.

Only stayed 1 night on our way through, had a camper trailer and they had space for us to park it off the street which was much appreciated. Room was nice and clean and comfy. I loved the spacious bathroom which was clean and up to date. Had a delicious meal and drinks in their restaurant. Would definitely stay again if I was in town.

The well-appointed room had such a comfortable bed that I wasn't able to keep my eyes open to watch a very important football game! The room was ready for me even though I was early for check-in. Very accommodating staff.

Was an upstairs room , looked ok inside but when bath room door opened fan control fell down , on inspection had been just sitting there for some time fibro was torn away under where controller was originally , I couldn't see how they had been even getting it to stay on wall , wires were old and twisted hadn't been looked at for a long time , when reception was told claimed didn't know about it ,did we bump it or something , I took photo as soon as I saw it in case we were blamed

The rooms have been modernised and are comfortable. Bathrooms modern with extra accessories. A little bit tight on room for a family of four. A little out of town but great restaurant on site. Great service from the hosts. Very pleasant stay and would definitely go back.

Yes the rooms are clean although a bit dated. The motel is not walking distance to the city centre but there is a restaurant attached and bottle shop adjacent.I have eaten at the House restaurant in the past but didn't this time as the meals looked quiet basic and expensive. I ate at a restaurant across the road. I didn't like the House Keeper trying to open my door in the morning and enter my room before I had checked out!
