Top quality accommodation. Friendly, helpful Staff. Complimentary breakfast available most satisfying. Room was well-appointed. Indoor pool a plus. My go to Hotel when in the area. Free parking at the door. Handi-capable automatic doors. Great destination.
The hotel was great, polite friendly staff, clean rooms and reception area. We were only there for one night. The shower was great lots of pressure and clean. King bed was good, nice sleep and what seem to be new pillows. We would stay there again
Nice and cozy..quiet area..breakfast is fine ...friendly staff that suggested a few visits in the city..you can relax on a patio that has chairs and tables outside ..you can also enjoy breakfast outside..it is a small size but cozy hotel..
Greeted by super friendly front desk staff. There is a very large parking lot. We took the lobby elevator to the fourth floor. The desk staff said we were in the quiet area of the hotel. Our room was very large, clean and the king sized bed was super comfortable. In the morning the shower was super hot. Downsides: the in room air conditioner was a bit noisy; and the neighbours tv could be heard faintly through the wall. Breakfast room was a short walk away in a different building but only a few steps away. Breakfast was very simple: an egg patty, a sausage patty (build your own egg mcmuffin); some cold cereal choices; yogurt and fruit. Decent selections but nothing fancy. Friendly staff in the breakfast room too.
Very nice hotel, river view is picturesque with lots of wildlife. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Sat in the riverside gazebo and watched an osprey swoop down to grab a fish out of the river right in front of us, then a big blue heron glides right by while a groundhog plays in the lawn behind us.
Clean, comfortable room with all amenities you might need. Friendly, professional staff. Excellent location. Highly recommend. A view of the river is an added bonus. Delicious hot breakfast available. The room was cool and quiet and the bed very comfortable.
Quiet, very clean modern spot close (<10 min to downtown and the Peterborough Hospital). Coffee 24/7 in the lobby, all the usual BW amenities. Pofessional happy opperations. Quiet overnight even with the patio door open. Nice gym, indoor pool and hot tub.
What a lovely hotel! Our visit couldn't have been better. The room was clean, well decorated, well appointed and had a great view of the creek. A heron greeted us on arrival. The location was ideal, close to restaurants, downtown, the Canoe Museum and easily accessed. Those staff we met were warm, friendly and helpful. All in all, it was an excellent stay!
This hotel was perfect! Loved to location and the scenic view from our room. Breakfast was good & pool was great!
Quiet spot along the river. Rooms are a good size, with a microwave, Keurig and mini fridge.pool and whirlpool are clean and warm. The breakfast area is in one building, the pool and whirlpool and gym in another, so you have to go outside between the buildings to access either. Breakfast was good, the typical best western hot breakfast offerings(pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast/bagel English muffins)as well as fresh fruits, yogourt, pastries, banana bread, oatmeal, cereal. Dining area for breakfast, or take to room.also offers self serve grab n go bags. Bed was comfortable. Shower hot. Only complaint is in room tv has only very, very basic cable, no streaming service. So wasn't able to watch sitcoms/comedy shows or movies. Chose this hotel for business stay, based on Tripadvisor reviews and location . Would stay here again. Thanks BW!
Spent a couple of nights at this location. It's a great location by a stream and close to amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel and room were very clean and well maintained. Definitely recommend staying here.
The staff, location and price make it the ideal stay in the Peterborough area for us. The staff are top notch.
As a repeat guest at this location it continues to be a favourite in Peterborough! Staff are friendly and helpful, good assortment of breakfast options, and convenient location with nearby stores and restaurants. Rooms are clean and comfortable! My go to for our visits to Peterborough!
Everything was neat clean and tidy bar and family restaurant a 1 min walk if your traveling there is no Uber of Lyft so you need to use the uride app which was actually cheap…we saw glorious sons the friday and it was only 8.50 one way Breakfast was hot pancakes were a little hard other then that great…parents just need to supervise their kids around the lobby coffee maker as a few were making a bunch of hot drinks th kids were maybe 6 so that was a little alarming but everything was perfect
Greeted by nice hotel staff. Got offered a free upgrade due to my diamond status. Room was very nice. Clean and comfortable. Jacuzzi Suite. Breakfast was hot and plentiful. Would definitely stay there again in the future. Highly recommended to others as well.
Great stay. Best hotel staff hands down. I travel all over the province and this best western is my favorite hands down. The staff are friendly and gon over and above to make sure my stay was great. The breakfast room staff are awesome and always help and assist. I really have no critiques, have switched my hotel of preference to Best Western because of this hotel.
This Best Western in Peterborough is very conveniently located with great parking, good amenities - we enjoyed the special touches of both water and hot drinks machines located in front lobby. Staff were helpful and friendly and the room was spacious. Very comfortable beds. The complimentary breakfast was good and the breakfast room attendant exceptionally helpful and competent.
Exactly as advertised. Clean room. Expected noise level and free breakfast was nice. The layout is weird and some of the rooms (river view) are not connected directly to the main building so heed the advice of checking in before unpacking as you may find it easier to park elsewhere in the property. The pool area is dated and with no sound insulation can be very noisy.
2nd time staying here, never any issues and the place is very clean and staff were great. The only things I didn't like is there was an exterior light that was directed right at my window and the blinds didnt overlap fully.
Nice, clean, spacious rooms, ours was a riverside room with a small deck from our patio doors to overlook the water. Coffee Pods and coffee maker in room, but there is fresh coffee 24/7 at the front desk. Very good selection of breakfast, including hot eggs, sausage and waffles. Paper bags available to take away snacks available at breakfast. Nice size indoor pool with outdoor access to a patio. The only downside was our room was near to an entrance door, people coming in after 11:00pm kept us awake. The 2nd night I turned on the room ventilation to have fan run all night to add background noise. This motel is not far off the main 115 highway and is near enough to access the main highlights of Peterborough including the Lift Locks. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
A very good experience with Check in and out. Clean comfortable room. Beautiful view of the river and the wildlife that is nearby. A Great Blue Heron was on the River bank right at our balcony. We will stay there again.
Fabulous stay at the Otonabee Inn. Very clean and spacious room. Bed was very comfortable. Check in was very quick! Front desk staff Denise and Laura were excellent! Breakfast was delicious! We will be back!
We had a great experience from food, service, location, views, and the room. Great water pressure and shower heads. It was close to many things (right on river), easy to find, and easy to get in and out of which is handy when you are not familiar with the area.
A very nice location / environment. Staff is pleasant, courteous and professional. Guest Room as well as common areas are neat and clean. Longtime family owners and operators, that's a big positive. Why 200 characters ?
Our family was in Peterborough during a busy weekend. Everyone was dropping their kids off for university, including us. We booked the king bed suite that had two pull-out couches and a fireplace. The room overlooked the river. The view of the grounds is a bit obstructed by the roof of the riverside dining patio. The toilet was unable to flush a single piece of bathroom tissue, let alone what it needed to. My husband had to call down to the front desk for a plunger. It was handed to him with a garbage bag, to be put outside the door to be taken care of when he was through fixing the plumbing issue. The pull-out couches touch frame over frame a bit, so access to the balcony and fireplace is blocked once people are sleeping on them. The king bed was soft and comfy. The room was quite large, but could've used some type of small dining table instead of two coffee tables. We made due and put the two tables together to play a boardgame on. There were two small benches we used for seating as well. We were able to extend our stay an extra day, but that meant switching rooms. No big deal. We were moved down the hall to 211. It had two queen beds and a small table with 2 chairs. The view was better on the balcony. We enjoyed the pool a couple of times and the hot beverages available in the lobby.
We chose this hotel as the host hotel for our daughters wedding. We could not have chosen better. Working with the sales staff and front desk was such a pleasant and so stress free. Housekeeping, maintenance and the breakfast staff were amazing and so helpful. The rooms were spacious and beds very comfortable. Location is perfect. Shout Out to Nicole for all she did to help us. I would stay here and plan an event again without hesitation.
Courteous staff . Breakfast was varied and well prepared . Pool area and hot tub very clean and maintained. Room ,and hotel in general, very clean . Internet worked well with no issues. The property is in a park like setting.
This hotel is located more on the outskirts of Peterborough but still within easy access to other services, including a restaurant within walking distance. The hotel staff were very pleasant. It is an older facility with plenty of free parking, and although clean, is sorely in need of updating, especially the bathroom. No grab bars in the tub, no tub mat to prevent slipping. In addition, the tub in our room had a curved bottom. As older travelers we found the combination of the slippery tub and lack of grab bars to be quite dangerous. The room itself was quite large as compared to newer hotels and it did have a comfortable bed, mini frig and sliding glass doors to a small deck (needing a paint job). Our room was tucked away so it was very quiet. Won't cross this hotel off our list for next trip but would likely research others before returning.
This hotel is well situated, right off Hwy 7 and bordering a creek which flows behind the hotel. Our room in the older river view section was comfortable and had a small balcony from where we could sit and watch the ducks and geese and occasional canoeist on the creek. The breakfast was great with cheese omelets, french toast fingers, and all the usual foods you'd expect. The staff on check in and out were friendly and efficient.
This was one of the best stays I ever had. Friendly staff, great room with very comfortable mattress, a balcony overlooking the river behind the hotel and the best thing was breakfast. The best I have ever seen. An awesome variety of warm and cold breakfast. You won't regret your stay!
Excellent hotel, very comfortable beds, breakfast was one of the best compared to other hotels would recommend to other travellers. Conveniently located to shopping, restaurants, etc... Staff were pleasant and very helpful
Stayed here twice in two months.Daughter lives in Peterborough.Second time was when she moved.Very clean and comfortable hotel.Mattress was nice.Ask3d for more towels and they were there when we returned.Definitly stay here again.
Would be nice to have a restaurant in the hotel other than the Breakfast Room, although, there is one next door, you can just walk over. Get a riverview room. You can walk to it or sit on your covered deck facing it!
It's a great Hotel very clean the breakfast room is well stocked and provided and the staff there are lovely easy to sign in and sign out lots of parking nice view from the river rooms we've stayed there several times now and I will be staying there again the great little hotel
The BW Otonabee Inn is the best hotel in the area. The rooms are spacious, many have good views. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We stay here 3/4 times a year. They have a good breakfast. The hotel has a great pool and hot tub. We had a river view and balcony as part of our room amenities,
A great place for the family. Rated 3.5 stars, this is the best 3.5 star hotel I can imagine. Staff is very courteous and efficient. Hotel is well maintained and spotlessly clean. The pool is large and also well kept and clean. Everything else also works as it is supposed to. We stayed here a year ago, and the experience was the same then, so it has kept its consistency (in a good way!).
The staff are all very pleasant and helpful have never had an issue with any best western I have stayed at great location the pool and hot tub and the rooms are nicely decorated and the rest of hotel has some beautiful paintings on the wall .
Very quiet accommodation on sprawling property. Backs on to river with lots of wildlife. Lots of perking and within walking distance of several restaurants. Comfortable room. Great breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff.
First of all, the staff is the nicest we have come in contact in any hotel that we have stayed. The rooms have nice views of a river in the back of the property. You would not know that you are actually in the city of Peterborough. The breakfast is very good. Great variety each day. The pool area has a nice outside sitting area. The beds are comfortable as well. Our stay was very relaxing.
The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the pool was a good size - able to swim lengths in it. Breakfast options were excellent and even the coffee was good. The staff were polite and friendly and check out was quick and easy.
A cozy hotel set on a beautiful landscape. The only real issues we had were the staff were nonexistent in the evening and the pool towels were behind the front desk. Pool towels were tiny and thin. Breakfast was good.
A nice joint in Peterborough, conveniently close to the Memorical Center. Amentities are good, with pool, gym, hot tub, easy parking, breakfast room. Room was clean, but TV channels available were mostly cheap public service channels, no HBO or movie channels. They need to add some streaming services to the TV's. Wifi worked ok, no complaints from child using an iPad. Major complaint is lack of sound insulation between rooms (we stayed on 3rd floor of main building), so you will hear your neighbors using the shower until late at night and early in the morning, so bring earplugs. Mattress was very hard, and according to the wife, also lumpy. Staff is cheerful and bright, so we left a nice tip. May repeat the visit, but will ask for a room in the outer wings next time.
The thing that stood out most about this hotel was the absolute cleanliness! Very comfortable room, but the bathroom was spotless! Even in the lovely sitting area in the lobby, there was not a speck of dust to be found. The cleaning staff should be commended! Breakfast was a very welcome surprise, the young attendant was extremely courteous and kept everything well stocked and presented. Your hotel is so fortunate to have these excellent staff members, especially in these days where finding staff for anything is a challenge. Definitely will stay here again!
After checking in I just wanted to sit in the front lobby. The fireplace was inviting and the chairs fluffy and soft to sit in. It was a very warm atmosphere!. The guest room was lovely. King-size bed with wingtip chairs and a corner air tub. Everything was extremely tidy. And adorable tucked away kitchenette and microwave and fridge. It was easy to keep clothes in their place and out of the common area
We enjoyed staying here and would do so again though there were some negatives, namely the Queen bed had a dip in the centre. As there were 2 of us this did nothing to improve our sleep. The room was very stuffy on arrival, like it had not been used for ages. It was a good size and both room and bathroom were to a high standard, but the furniture had ledges with thick dust on them, unfortunately. The heating/cooling fan would not run continuously, and the window only opened a few inches (for security of children) so it stayed stuffy. The fridge had no freezer section, so we were unable to re freeze our freezies. We needed the use of a microwave oven which limited our choice of rooms. Otherwise all was good especially the included breakfast which had all kinds of goodies all individually wrapped. On offer was an egg and cheese wrap, also wrapped. Orange juice in bottles too! Wow! Staff were friendly. There is a good restaurant right next door to this hotel, which has a large menu at very reasonable prices, which we enjoyed.
Beautiful location and view of the river. Very clean hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Absolute pleasure staying here. Close to amenities . Hotel is mid sized and well spaced so it does not feel busy even when full. I will definitely be staying here again .
Very nice place. Clean is a huge priority, and this place is very clean. Reasonably priced. Nice hot tub and pool. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast, custom made. Very nicely appointed along the river. I rarely give 5 star reviews, but there is simply nothing to complain about at this location.
We really enjoyed our river view room with deck out the back. It was a really tranquil location. Room was clean. Staff was really kind and accommodating. One of the best Best Westerns we've stayed at.
We have tried several hotels in the area as I now need to be in Peterborough a few times each year for business. We have now found our hotel of choice. The hotel is lovely and well kept, but the big differentiator is the staff - from the front desk who greeted us to the woman making breakfast, everyone seemed pleased to provide top notch service - friendly, helpful, efficient and prompt.
This hotel offered a peaceful stay along the water. This was a perfect location with friendly staff, comfortable beds, and a good breakfast. Great for any type of stay. Definitely on my list of repeat places to visit.
The hotel was right on the main road, easy to get to. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean. Breakfast was good, best butter tarts :) All in all a very pleasant experience
I had planned 1 night but woek plans changed at the last minute. Front desk staff made it so easy during a stressful week! Can't wait to stay again. Clean rooms and facility, tasty breakfast options and friendly team. Great job!
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean room, comfortable bed. I had a river view room where I could see the ducks and geese swimming in the morning. Location perfect as I was attending a function in the area.
I would recommend this hotel. It's right on the river and you can get a room overlooking it from the balcony or ground floor. Clean and very friendly staff. Lots of property and parking. We took our boat to launch at the back of the hotel and also a docket to tie up the boat, Wonderful stay everytime.
The front desk was accommodating, helpful and friendly. The rooms have always been clean. Pool was a great temperature and relaxing in the hot tub was a perfect way to end a night. I would recommend coming here anytime
Stayed for 1 night. Great location. Thos hotel will have everything you need for a family with young children. Very comfy bed, great jacuzzi tub. Clean facility and great staff. The breakfast was on point. I highly recommend this hotel!
We stayed one night the other night and we were very pleased with the experience. I left a very detailed review on Google Maps. Front Desk Agent was very helpful, friendly and fast. We were able to get a king bed room on top floor as I had requested. Room was a good size, very clean and had all amenities needed. Place was quiet, once close by rooms had returned to their rooms for the night, people always let their doors slam for some reason! Bed was clean and comfortable enough. TV and WiFi both worked without issue. Breakfast was good and enough. We walked along the river behind the hotel and it was nice. Ducks followed us, guess they're used to getting fed. Parking was included with room and not an extra fee. Overall, very pleased, thank you.
This is an older hotel, but very well maintained. The bathroom was excellent, the bed comfortable, the room quiet, and the internet superb. Most important, the staff were wonderful. They were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is okay, but limited. Otherwise, this hotel is excellent value for the money.
Had a river view ground floor room. Sat out after dinner and had breakfast out on porch. View was great with canoers going by, ducks, geese, birds and even a groundhog. All use to people, did not bother us. We have been staying here for past 8 years since our son when to Trent University and we would come to visit..
Our extended family (my wife and I, son and daughter-in-law, and their two kids, ages 2 and 6) had a great weekend stay at the Otonabee Inn. The staff was very good - warm, welcoming and helpful. And there seemed to be enough of them to properly manage the hotel, unlike many hotels which seem understaffed as a result of the pandemic. The rooms and building were all very clean. Rooms are a good size, with ample plug-ins for all our electronic gear. The breakfast was good with lots of choice. The pool was excellent - also very clean and quite large for a hotel pool. This was a good thing since one of the primary reasons for choosing this hotel was to have a good pool for the kids to swim in. All-in-all we were very happy with no complaints. Highly recommended!
Very clean with a terrace overlooking the water, ducks come up to greet you. Cute gazebo by the water also if you want to chill a little bit after a long day's ride. Breakfast was hot French toast, pastries, and your other regular breakfast items. Enjoyed a dip in the pool and relaxed in the hot tub.
Was a nice place to stay, but not satisfied with the breakfast, disappointing. No more buffet for scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. They changed the menu. No good selection -they served the eggs (only) in a wrap, and was bland. It's either you get the wrap or the sweet muffins/croissants only. Please bring back the traditional English breakfast.
This Best Western is conveniently located and has a welcoming exterior. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and allowed a good night's sleep. The free breakfast didn't offer scrambled eggs and sausage as other Best Western do, but perhaps it varies by day. There was a good breakfast selection of muffins, fruit, etc. There is lots of free parking and nearby places to eat. I am making this my new choice of accommodation when passing through Peterborough.
The staff are always there for anything you need. The breakfast is really good and has many options. The pool is refreshing without being cold. The outdoor seating area is nice as well. If you get the back rooms facing the water you don't even know you are in the city. Very quiet.
Very comfortable and good amenities. Nice location. Lovely view of the river and trees from the private outdoor patio. Relaxing. Clean indoor pool. Decent sized fridge. Shower has good water pressure.
The rooms were clean, lots of space. Staff always at the desk. The decor is meh but beds are comfy. Ac works great. Pool was nice. There are a few nice restaurants within walking distance so you don't need to drive.
We came late after 10pm on the Friday. There were some teams in the main building that were a bit louder and the staff switched us to another building that was great. Was super quiet and we had a deck on the back facing the creek. It was great. Was a Continental breakfast with one hot which was ok but would love a full hot breakfast. Great location in Peterborough…
Great hospitality service clean rooms very helpful when needed. Breakfast was fantastic front desk service was excellent I will recommend the best western to all my friends looking forward to staying there some other time
We enjoyed a great stay in Peterborough. The hotel was clean, the staff very friendly/helpful and the breakfast was wonderful. The location of the hotel is great, right on the river and it is close to everything.
Our overnight at Best Western Otonabee was pleasant. Extremely clean location. Bed was comfortable and the staff were very courteous and helpful. The location was convenient for a variety of food choices and for attending a concert.
This hotel employs some of the happiest staff I have encountered in a long time! The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was included and met my expectations perfectly. Close to several restaurants within walking distance. Will definitely stay again!
Have stayed here several times and always meets or exceeds our expectations. Have never been disappointed.. There is a pool and fitness room, both very clean and well kept. Breakfast was a surprise on our first trip, plenty of food and variety for everyone.Staff remember us from our last stays.
I just completed a two month stay at the BW Otonabee and have nothing but praise to offer. My room, which had a small kitchen and was more like a small apartment, was well-appointed and very comfortable. The fitness room is very good, the entire hotel is kept very clean and anything else you might need is not far away, either on foot or by car. I'd like to express my thanks to everyone who made my stay enjoyable - housekeeping, front desk, dining room, maintenance - everyone was wonderful, and I'm sure I'll be back again in the future.
Very comfortable stay at the Otonabee Inn. The breakfast spread was very good and staff are very friendly. The fireplace in our room was very noisy so I'm not sure that I would choose that room again in the future. Everything was very clean.
Really enjoyed our stay at this establishment. Will be staying here in the future when we come to Peterborough for work. Everything was nice and clean. Staff was very welcoming. Would recommend staying here for all your needs to be taken off. A home away from home for sure.
This hotel has everything, beautiful rooms, very helpful, friendly staff, and the price was the best I have encountered for a long time. I was on a third party phone call booking and when I realized it wasn't the hotel I phoned the hotel and their price was $20 less. It is refreshing not to have to pay for parking. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend!!!
A buddy and I went here to go snowmobiling. We checked in and they upgraded both our rooms with no hesitation. Breakfast was awesome, great selection Including fresh baked cookies muffins danishes etc. on top of your hot breakfast. The parking lot for the snowmobile trail was only two minutes down the road. I don't recommend trying to get on the trail from the hotel unless the sidewalks have snow. Overall just a great best western friendly staff service was great room was awesome food was amazing I highly recommend this hotel RUBES
Lovely spot on the river. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room with comfortable beds and great shower. A bit difficult to access the snowmobile trail from the hotel...we had to trailer to a near by staging area. Would definitely stay here again.
Staff are very helpful. Even during Covid complementary breakfast is a proper meal. Hotel is clean, beds are comfortable. I always choose a river view room because even though it is close to everything it still feels like you're out of the city.
Decided to support tourism and hospitality by getting out of Toronto for the New Year' s day weekend! The hotel is well maintained, and has the friendliest staff! Many things were closed as it was a statutory holiday, but not the BW Plus! Come enjoy Peterborough we normally visit in the summer and fall to canoe, and this was our first winter weekend!
This hotel was very clean in my opinion. I travel for work and have stayed in three other hotels in Peterborough, this hotel is by far the cleanest, and nicest. Haven't used the pool or hot tub, but it looks nice. I normally booked the executive king bed rooms on the fourth floor, very good. I also tried the kitchenette room on Riverside, was nice there too but not as. If ever I am back in town, this would be the place I would book.
The Gym was open! Very clean, I Was screened in before using. Room was a little dated but very clean. Staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful. Was not able to take advantage of the small deck, but it was a nice touch. Would recommend.
Hotel was fine, staff were good. Location of hotel was a cross between strip mall and golf course depending on what side you were. Problem was we only went to use the pool, which was constantly being used, it seems the hotel has sold passes to the pools in local senior centers, and they have sold A LOT of them, between to open hours of 8-8 we couldn't find a time when the pool wasn't constantly in use. I was trying to teach someone to swim which you can't do when you have 6 elderly people filling the shallow end at all times. Very dissapointed. Hotel could have easily set aside a couple of hours for these groups, then returned pool usage to actual guests.
We have not been to a hotel or away since the beginning of Covid so were a bit apprehensive when we booked this stay. We actually cancelled another hotel reservation because Best Western was so responsive and personal and we were able to communicate our concerns in real time. The hotel was spotless, organized, personally focused and the breakfast choices were amazing. I loved that we could take our breakfast to our room. We would stay here again! Wonderful staff!
We stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of our son who stayed for three nights in September. We found it to be an excellent choice. We chose a room facing the river and it was a treat to see the ducks and geese in the morning. We definitely would stay there again if we were in the area.
Pros: Room was clean and water pressure in shower was very good. Lots of hot water. View from the rear was quite lovely. Grab 'n go breakfast was way better than most and the coffee was hot and good. Front desk staff excellent. Cons: Rooms have those "low" toilets - many struggle to do deep knee bends to "go." Please replace. Also, no hair dryer in room, that is a first. Could have a nightlight since the bathroom light triggers a very loud fan.
The staff at the front desk were exceptional. It was the best customer service experience I have had in a very long time. I would highly recommend this hotel for any future visits to the Peterborough area.
Make sure you receive an email confirmation. Our reservation was wrong and we did not have an email confirmation, however staff resolved the problem without delay. Make sure you bring a tablet if you have kids, the tv is very limited in channels.
The check in was seamless and quick and the facilities were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast items were very good and varied. The checkout was also seamless and quick. Being close to the river was very natural and beautiful
Front desk staff is lovely here. The room was clean and spacious, the hotel was quiet and clean. They were very courteous answering all my questions and if you had a request they did their best to accommodate it.
Rooms are very clean and inviting. Beds are comfortable. Very nice place to stay. Great view of the river from our private porch. Breakfast was great with many choices. The pool is large and a perfect tempature.
We have been staying here for years and never disappointed. Riverview room and sadly it poured rain. The pool was open and we enjoyed some time in it after a couple of days of driving. We felt completely comfortable everywhere 8n the hotel. The staff was friendly and as accommodating as is possible in the present environment.
The hotel is clean and has a wonderful river view with decks to sit on at the back side. Wonderful to just sit relax and watch the ducks. They have a good range of gluten free breakfast items (if you have celiac this is very important) and everything was wrapped. Nice clean rooms and a nice pool as well. Parking is great and restaurants are only a short walk or drive away.
We booked a 2 night getaway since the cottage we usually go to in the summer was booked solid this year and we wanted a mini holiday to make up for it a little bit at least. We chose this property because of the riverfront room and indoor pool for the kids. The view was amazing... so relaxing and like being far away yet only 15 min from home. Room was clean and quiet, pool was nice and breakfast had many hot and cold options. We had no complaints and would return/recommend. (Just don't go for a stroll out by the river.. the geese have taken over if you know what I mean. lol)
When I arrived at the hotel the male desk Manager was surprised thar the Best Western Rewards had been able to book me a room for 2 nights although he had tried to block his system to reservations from Best Western Rewards. Something rather strange seems to be going on here. The young woman working on the desk very kindly helped me bring my bags to my room. I was extremely pleased with the cleanliness of the room as nothing triggered my allergies. Their standard rooms are extremely well appointed , I would have preferred a room with less furniture and less chances of picking up something from prior occupants. I This location has no uncarpeted rooms. Curiously, the swimming pool is open ,but not the business centre. Staff said that the health department would not allow them to open the business centre . Something rather odd about this too considering business centres are open at other hotels.
I couldn't be happier with our stay. The service was excellent, the room was nice and clean, the breakfast was delicious and the river view was very enjoyable while we ate our breakfast. Great hotel, strongly recommend.
Good speed EV charger at 56 kms per hr. for my Tesla. I had a queen bed with sofa, refrigerator, big tv, table with business chair. Controllable temperature thermostat. Good water pressure in the shower tub. The whole unit was modern. Free Breakfast today was hot wrap and muffins, croissants, tarts, juice, cereal and whole fresh fruit. I ate last night up the hill at One Eye Jacks restaurant. It was ok but your topical bar restaurant.
I have stayed in many and although I look for this hotel first in any city, the Otonabee was for sure in the top two between both Canada and the United States. Breakfast room was like a restaurant atmosphere.
This Hotel offers great value. The service is superb & your stay comes with full breakfast. We stayed here 2 nights to visit family in the area. It's a short 10 minute drive to anything you would want to do in Peterborough. If you are going to use the swimming pool this Hotel has a large rectangle pool. We travel a fair bit and big pools are hard to find. We have used other hotels in Peterborough before. This one is the best and we will be using it in the future when we visit.
Had a slight hiccup at checkin (no fault but my own) and the manager got everything sorted in under 5 min. All the staff were professional and pleasant, even the breakfast was good despite all the COVID crap.
The Hotel has amazing staff and is always clean. Some rooms are older but always being refreshed and clean as a whistle. The location is away from some of the issues you can experience elsewhere in Peterborough, my go to home when going back home.
We stayed one night earlier this week while in Peterborough to visit Trent University. Just to note the things I really appreciated: very clean accommodations; lovely tiled bathroom with a rainfall showerhead; beautiful river view and little patio just outside our ground floor room; beautiful river view and outdoor patio as part of the breakfast room; delicious hot breakfast sandwich and fresh fruit for breakfast; outdoor seating, dock and boat launch right on the hotel property; hotel clerk who grew up in the area and could give us a list of favourite non-chain restaurants, what kind of fish you can catch in the river, and good place to go for a morning run; trans-canada trail just five minutes from the hotel so I had a great morning run along the tree-lined river path, passing beaches, a couple of playgrounds, an outdoor gym, and going over two little creek bridges and a set of locks as part of Trent-Severn waterway. Our stay was short but we couldn't have asked for better :)
We enjoy our stay in Peterborough as we are members of the Canoe Museum of Canada! We go there specifically to visit the museum, however, you can also visit if you are enroute to Ottawa - really nice for a weekend away! The Best Western have excellent staff who warmly welcome you....The Inn is on the river so you can launch a canoe or Kayak!
This is the cleanest and best maintained hotel you will find in Peterborough perhaps in Ontario. Pre-Covid we travelled a lot and cleanliness and upkeep is important to me,especially if I'm staying more than one night.
The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating the grounds and hotel were well kept would definitely recommend to friends and family to stay, the pool was clean and well maintained also the selection of local restaurants were close by
Best Western Plus in Peterborough is located in a beautiful picturesque setting beside the Otonabee River. The grounds are so lovely. We always stay in the rooms separate from the main hotel that have patios where we can sit outside and enjoy the pleasures of this location. The beds are excellent, rooms very clean and continental breakfast second to none. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance including a Tim Hortons. The hotel is close to main 115 highway, The Lift Locks, shopping and a short drive to downtown. Perfect spot for us.
Friendly, courteous staff, easy check in, contactless checkout. Breakfast room offers great take away including a hot item. ( I stayed during pandemic restrictions) Room and hotel clean and welcoming. Front staff quickly provided me with utensils when I had takeout for supper delivered . I am always happy with my stays here.
Spotlessly clean and well equipped best describes the room we stayed in. We had a double room with a river view…totally worth it. Extra space with table and 2 chairs in the room was great for reading the paper or eating. Frig, micro, coffee maker and hair dryer were much appreciated
I can't say enough about my experience staying here! Excellent staff, beautiful location on the river with nature, so laid back and feels like you're at the cottage. Always clean comfy rooms and affordable prices. I just LOVE this hotel! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
First time here. Exceeded expectations and the essential worker rate was very much appreciated. Although the building itself is older, the property/interior doesn't show it's age at all. Very clean and modern with comfortable beds and a welcoming vanity/bathroom. I would not hesitateto stay again. Oh btw, get a river view room ;)
The location of the hotel is very beautiful. Got a riverside room and loved being able to go out right to the water. Very clean, staff was very helpful and polite. Beds were really comfortable and soft sheets.
I needed a solid break from everyday life. Had a room with a balcony - wonderful sitting outside having my morning coffee staring at the river and trees so peaceful. Rooms had coffeemaker, fridge and microwave. Perfect me. Close to everything but you wouldn't know it as I said sitting on the balcony. Staff were quite helpful. Bed and room were quite comfortable and clean! Definitely going back again - this was my second time there.
Very clean hotel with friendly staff in a lovely location, right on the river. It was frozen when I was there but I'm sure it's lovely in summer. I swam a few lengths in the pool which was a good size and very warm and clean. Friendly staff.
The hotel is a bit aged but the rooms are very clean and renovated. The location is excellent and staff were very good. The hotel price was extremely reasonable and will definitely stay again . It was covid time but pool was open and a modified breakfast was served including a hot egg cheese sandwich which was fresh.
I've stayed at this hotel a couple times now. This visit was my first time with a partner. The employees at this hotel are very kind and professional. They were willing to fill the small requests that I had (ie, needed some utensils). The breakfast was great considering how limited they were with Covid. I felt very safe and the room was thoroughly cleaned. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. Great for a night away!
This was a nice stay for my fiancé and I. In light of the covid pandemic we wanted a small trip somewhere away for a home away from home feel and that's exactly what we got. Exceptional breakfast food and staff were great and very welcoming! Room was nice and clean and location was close to the sights of Peterborough. Would stay again if in this area ! The only thing I would say is the bed is not the comfiest and there was some construction going on across the bridge on I believe a damn that was somewhat noisy into the night but nothing that staff could really change.
Have stayed here five times so far this year. The hotel is clean and comfortable, friendly staff and a quiet location on a river. Some rooms have kitchenettes which we have taken advantage of due to COVID restrictions in restaurants . In the summer months, we enjoyed sitting out by the river and watching the kayakers and ducks float by
Hotel was located in an easy to get to location. Rooms were quiet. Staff is friendly. Breakfast was served in a safe way (as we traveled during Covid-19). Check in was quick and easy along with check out. Beds are comfy, and room was spacious!
Always a great stay at Best Western Hotels. This one was perfect location, amazing staff and incredibly clean. I was very pleased with the information given to me at the front desk for check in regarding new protocols and procedures.
Most rooms have an amazing view and access to the Trent River. Its a quiet location away from downtown problems. Walking distance to popular restaurants and pubs. Very friendly and knowledgeable front desk staff.
Location excellent. Great value for money. Friendly efficient staff. Very clean. Comfy bed and pillows Breakfast choices good esp given virus restrictions. Nicely decorated room. Lots of bathroom complimentary products.
What a wonderful stay for our 7 year anniversary. We booked the king suite with a jacuzzi in the room. It was a lovely fall weekend so we booked in here and did the peterborough lift lock tour. With covid going on we weren't sure what to expect but the hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was pleasant and we didn't want for anything. The bedding was soft and the pillows were wonderful. We had a mini kitchen which was nice. Because we stayed the whole weekend it was great to store some drinks and snacks. We didn't realize that breakfast was included so that was a nice bonus. The breakfast was different each day and they offered many items. We enjoyed French toast sticks one day and a breakfast sandwich the next. They were made to order so it was hot when we enjoyed it. There were many other pastries, fruits, drinks and snacks. Both ladies working in there were extremely welcoming and efficient. The staff didn't enter our room over the weekend but you could request any items you needed throughout your stay. The pool was open for up to ten guests at a time. We will definitely stay here again. Kudus to the team at this hotel. They are making it work while keeping you safe during this time. There is a pub right next door if you are looking for somewhere cheap to dine. There is also a steak restaurant just a few doors down within walking distance.
Stay at the Best western the Friday night before my wedding with my bridesmaids and my mom and god mother, the staff were extremely friendly. In total we had 3 rooms booked. Also stayed the Saturday night after the wedding my husbands and my room was in a different wing then the other rooms when we went to show the one couple to their room,on our way back to our room we got asked if need help finding our hotel room, even tho I knew where we were going it was still nice that front desk had asked if we needed help
We've stayed twice at this hotel during the Covid19 period. Both stays have been excellent. Housekeeping and overall preventive measures excellent. Even hot items available for the pared down breakfast. Rooms overlooking river with balconies, lovely restful spot in these worrisome days. One Eyed Jack restaurant right next door has excellent food, though a bit noisy inside, go while patio weather is still possible.
Book here again for our 37 anniversary . I Am handicapped So booked a queen bed room close to things at the hotel. I even phoned the hotel 2 times ahead of our stay like I always do just to make sure they know my needs. When we arrived we had the 2 farthest room from everything, opened the door to find 2 double beds and a musky smelling room. I did not go back to the front end because of being handicapped and not wanting to deal with moving everything to another room just very disappointed that after all the phone calls prior to arrival that none of my needs were meet. Guess that means won't be coming Back here again no reply from hotel by email they just ignored it thanks Best western
First floor, with river side view. Ducks, geese, other wildlife. We hope to return for a longer stay in the near future. Close to golf courses, shopping, restaurants, Stay was quite and relaxing. slept well.
We stayed here one nite - for an event and everything was really great - staff extremely helpful, considerate and ciourteous. Rate was very reasonable and the room was clean and have a lovely view. Would definitely return again.
A BIG THANK YOU TO NICOLE at the front desk. The continental breakfast was over at 9am and we were half hour late and the food was put away. Nicole went out of her way to make us up a couple bags of muffins/pastries/fruit and drinks for us. The view from the clean rooms is very nice especially while having your morning or evening coffee. There are alot of friendly ducks out back so be sure to bring food for them, There are a few ducks that will actually take the food out of your hands. There is also a ground hog that we seen a few times that wonders around out back. We tried fishing the creek behind the motel a few times with not much luck. Overall a great place to stay with lots of restaurants nearby.
Room was clean but I did wipe everything down myself with Lysol supes that I brought. The hotel provided sanitizing wipes to wipe the trolley and other surfaces. Contactless check in and check out. Breakfast food was individually wrapped to-go. Easy to physical distance as the hotel wasn't crowded. I felt safe overall
This Inn is spotless! We were impressed with the level of cleanliness and feel that this establishment is taking the pandemic seriously. We have traveled every summer to Peterborough for over twenty years and from all of our stays, this Inn is our favourite! It's attractive, is on the water and well located. We definitely recommend it!
My first venture out since February 2020. It's a large hotel, but I'd recommend getting a river view room on the ground floor. You have a patio to the outdoors. Bring snacks for the ducks, and you may also see the visiting groundhog. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean. I had no issues of any kind. The Grab & Go breakfast was serviceable, but you may want to arrive early. By 9:00 there was not a lot remaining.
Just a great place to enjoy rest, relaxation, the indoor pool ect and friendly helpful service! Very close to walking trails, Beavermead park and many eateries. Timmies is a close walk, as well as Dairy Queen and a great pub(the porch and pint) which also offers great quick food and cold beer! Win Win Win:))
My partner and I stay once or twice a month to get away. We always stay here because we feel it's a hidden gem. It is always so clean and so nicely decorated. The rooms have great layouts and we feel so at home staying here. We always request rooms on the ground floor that walk out to a deck and view of the river. It's an absolutely stunning view. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Peterborough area.
Booked back in January for a couple of nights just to relax and enjoy a nice dinner at Bercs which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and of course to enjoy a relaxing time at the otonabee inn.The staff were friendly and always cleaning something. When we arrived the front desk let us know that the pens had been purrelled, the breakfast was very good and again staff in the breakfast area continuously cleaning door handles, table tops etc Thanks to all for a couple of nights just to relax and enjoy. See you again soon.
Wonderful informative helpful staff made our stay in Peterborough enjoyable. Good suggestions on were to eat, how to get around the city, etc. Breakfast was very good. We didn't use the exercise room but it looked well equipped.
This was our first visit, and won't be our last. Staff were welcoming and friendly, the room was beautiful, the jacuzzi tucked behind the fireplace was perfect! Also helpful that they have an EV charging port for guests free of charge, or for a small hourly fee for travellers. We were lucky enough to find it free. Charges quickly!
Overall this hotel was very clean, up to date modern, and staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Hot breakfast is fresh and over looks the river. It is a very peaceful way to start the day! Tons of parking on site as well which is amazing.
This hotel was very clean, staff were extremely helpful and friendly! Breakfast was hot and fresh. Fitness center was ok, I like a variety of weights when I work out. There was a universal machine with different exercises to do. The cardio equipment was good. Overall stay at the hotel was great! Pool was good for the kids. I would stay here again
Have stayed at this Best Western on many business trips and have never been disappointed - great location - super staff - and had room 126 at the back of the hotel - newly updated - great room - great value for the money as Best Western Rewards member
The staff at this Best Western are wonderful. After a very heavy snow storm, they hand shovelled around all the vehicles parked in handicapped parking spots. What a wonderfully thoughtful gesture - taking time to assist their customers with mobility issues.
We had a room here last summer but we only for an hour until we saw the inside and got out. It wasn't clean or well appointed. It frightened us. Although I don't know for certain, people we met while we were in the area, told us it was most commonly rented out by the area.
Plenty of parking which is always appreciated. The warm inviting lobby was just the start to a welcomed stay. Front desk staff was very helpful with local dining and transportation options. The exercise room was clean and available as were pool and whirlpool. Change rooms were also well kept and convenient. The room was clean, comfortable and well supplied. Breakfast offered many options and was fresh and appealing.
My wife and I have been to a number of motels/hotels over the years while either on business or family visits in this university town. Based on my overall experience and feedback while departing this conference we both found it to be an exceptional experience plus very positive stay. From the check in process to checking out this morning it was effective plus professional. All hotel staff employed here appear to be locals as the hotel does not lock its doors to keep guests. In the GTA this is unheard of. Very clean as we missed the holiday rush with alot of guests visiting familg over x-mas plus busy News Years Eve. They serve both hot and cold food in the earing area. When staff are not busy doing their daily rountines. they are funny and engage in light hearted conversations. The Night Auditor has a great sense of humour and all on staff here appear to have him on duty to man the front desk, FYI even sent the Front Desk Mgr. that I was writing a great review here on Trip Advisor. Keep up the good work here and would stay here again when visiting the area again in the near future.
Excellent device at the location .Staff are very friendly andvgladeb Staff are very friendly and helpful .Thank again for a great stay . Over the last year I have stay here many time and each time it like coming home . Thanks again to all the staff that makes my stay comfortable.
Professional attentive well priced with all the amenities you would need for a mini vacation. . Would recommend as a above average hotel for a weekend .. Poo is great and breakfast is more than satisfactory with excellent choice and selection.
I drive from Ottawa to Toronto a lot, and I usually don't stay in Peterborough, I just drive all the way. But with winter here I would definitely consider stopping here and avoid the 401 if I can. It's a great spot, friendly professional staff, very nice lobby with fireplace, internet was great for streaming all evening. Would not hesitate at all to come back
This hotel seems to have some new upgrades and is very clean. Large tv and memory foam mattress make it a comfortable stay. With a full comp breakfast, indoor pool and exercise room this is a good hotel. Lastly, the front desk ladies that greeted me were very friendly and professional. I will be staying here again when I am in Peterborough for sure.
Spent one night. Room was nice and clean. Staff were friendly. Great free breakfast. Didn't get a chance to use the pool, there was also a small gym that looked nice. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.
I love this hotel! The staff are super friendly. The river view is spectacular! The gym, pool and jacuzzi were amazing. The breakfast has everything you would have at home. I loved the whole experience.
The hotel lobby has been renovated. The website is not updated, they should show the new entrance and front desk. A strong smell of chlorine as soon as you enter the hotel. The pool area is across from the front desk, not a great location. The breakfast area is located in another building, in bad weather, this could be an issue for anyone handicapped. The hotel is clean, but needs a renovation soon.
We booked an overnight stay at this hotel and I'm happy we did. Firstly I had booked a room that when we checked it out it was a nice room but we wanted to be in one with an outside patio. When I asked Jeremy at the front desk he was very accommodating and did find us another room. It's interesting that it looks like there are 2 hotels in one. The river view rooms look to be in an older building and the office, and more rooms, are in a newer wing. The river view older part was a pleasant surprise. It looks old from the outside but the rooms have been renovated. Ours was clean with really nicely finished bathroom and main area. There was fridge so we were able to sit out, watch the river and have a glass of wine. Located close to the highway, but not so close you see or hear it, it's a little ways from the downtown but not too far, maybe 3-4 kms. I felt it was good value, a nice place, decent included breakfast and would stay there again.
We stayed two nights. We had a ground floor room with a beautiful gazebo and the river at the rear. A rear door gave us access to the gazebo and park settings. Our group enjoyed a pot-luck supper in the gazebo. The outdoor scenery all around is quite nice. Two double beds in our room was more than enough for two of us. Many people in our group of about 24 found time for the swimming pool. Our group was on a three day cycling trip, but I am quite likely to return with my wife just to enjoy a tourist-like stay in the near future. (RoamerD)
The motel was extremely clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room that I had on the 4th floor was perfect, a good view looking out, and a very quiet place with no noise. I would like to thank all the staff that work there for doing an excellent job at making my stay amazing.
After arriving unexpectedly in Peterborough due to an auto breakdown the Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn was a pleasant surprise. The location on the Otonabee River is quite beautiful. The breakfast room overlooking the river is quite relaxing. After a terrible night of stress caused by being abandoned late at night by GM OnStar, this hotel was a welcome break. The following morning the staff offered us a ride to the auto repair shop. I cannot thank them enough.
Absolutely a very clean hotel with good amenties. The setting is second to none. We have stayed here a number of times over the years and have never been disappointed. This is a highlight of our visit to Peterborough.
We have stayed at this property three times this year and the service is always excellent and consistant. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The continental brakfast is very enjoyable with great selection and always a smiling face.
Hotel is clean with good front desk service. I bit tricky to get around in without going outside. I had a good view of the river and grounds from my room. Breakfast was good and hot. Area was kept clean and attentive by hostess.
It was a pleasure to stay at the Best Western Otonabee Inn. It is located close enough to downtown Peterborough for your convenience, but has a dramatic backdrop over the Otonabee River. The hotel is clean and comfortable.
We stay at the hotel every 6 months and usually enjoy our stay there. Breakfast is a nice added value, the location is nice to walk around too. Check out the on-site geocache, very nice touch! Very hot jacuzzi tub and fun pool.
Stayed at the Otonabee Inn on a Saturday night. Great view and room had all that your could ask for. Breakfast was great, lots of options. Was a little crowded as a wedding had taken place the night before. Rooms are very quiet and the view was beautiful on Saturday night of the river.
The front desk staff were all friendly and very helpful, especially Kate who welcomed us. The entance is on a busy road, The staff made a carful note to management of our comment that it was difficult to see the actual curb break at night. The hotel does not have a bar and the mini-fridge is empty ! BYOB
The Best Western Otonabee is the only hotel I choose to stay at in Peterborough. The facility is well presented. The accommodations are excellent. I do enjoy having breakfast with a wide variety of choices and the use of real plates and cutlery. The staff is always efficient and pleasant. They always seek to make my experience at this hotel so good. I enjoy staying at this hotel and would not choose any other place to stay.
This hotel offers just about everything. Rooms are updated. Gazebos outside cater to groups getting together. Relatively close to downtown and within 10 mins of most attractions. Breakfast cold and hot was good. Clean and comfortable
As new 'empty-nesters' I wanted to spend my birthday in Peterborough with our daughter, who is attending university there. Unfortunately, everything was showing as sold out. I called BWPOI and thankfully they had a cancellation! The room was a lovely first-floor double with updated bathroom and wonderful back deck with river views. We loved it! And the breakfast was an added bonus!
Lovely location overlooking the river, we enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck. Nice selection for breakfast, bed was comfortable, good price. What more can I ask for? I would certainly stay here again when I'm visiting Peterborough. I only gave a 4 because it needs a little updating. No USB charging ports in the room.
The Otonabee Inn is the hotel my grandparents used to stay at when they visited during my childhood, so it's kind of fun to stay there myself. t was my first time staying alone at a hotel, and it was an excellent experience. Very comfortable and safe. Every thing was clean. Bed was comfortable. Towels soft. Yummy breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'll be back!
The hotel is situated on the banks of a lovely river. The rooms are modern and spacious and many of them have balcony's or walk outs to the beautiful grounds. The breakfast room was a bit of a hike to find but was spacious and well stocked. Beds were comfortable and the amenities were great!
I have been staying at Best Western Hotels for many years and the Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn, Peterborough, ON for over 20 years. The cleanliness and service has not wavered and remains excellent. The staff are always friendly and willing to go the "extra mile" to make your stay the most comfortable it can be. When available a Best Western Hotel is always my first choice!
Hotel was close (15min) to where we wanted to be (Trent U). Hotel is clean, has friendly staff and had a decent breakfast. Lots of dining choices within 5 minutes of hotel. The fitness room and pool are well maintained. River, creek and locks close by add to ambience of hotel.
We had an easy warm welcoming into this hotel. As frequent travellers it was a nice change. We thought we booked a room with a whirlpool jaccuzi, but we ended up with a spa bath. We were a little bummed, but the front desk staff tried to accommodate us with a vacant room with a whirlpool at no extra cost - there were no available though. The room was otherwise clean, and quite nice. We were right beside an exit door, which I don't recommend if you are a light sleeper or not an early riser as you could hear the door opening and closing in the early hours of the morning. Water pressure was great. Pool was great - minus some young kids continuously jumping in and having no respect for other swimmers with their splashing. The hot tub was small, but at an appropriate temperature. The breakfast was OK. Eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, bagels, muffins, orange juice, and cereal in buffet form. Not bad but eating area was small. Overall, decent place to stay. Could probably find cheaper in the area though.
After driving hours to this hotel I was told I could not use my CAA discount because I prebooked. Not what I was told when I called in before booking online. I was told to just show it when I get there. Wrong! The desk clerk expressed NO period! Given my key to room number not getting a discount I went into it to find the toilet running on. Had to correct the flap in the back several time manually. Also, my room over looking the river was nice, but directly beside the restaurant patio, pop and ice machine which was practically out my front. Very discussed!!! Don't book online or call in for advise you will get false information.
Stayed here because couldn't get into go to hotel in Lindsay. Nice hotel Very helpful staff .... even showed us to our room Very clean Very comfortable beds Breakfast provided and it wasn't bad I'd stay again for sure
Not far off the highway , close to alot of amenities, quiet and clean. Some of the rooms have balconies, most overlook the river. Room was a good size with two Queen beds and two chairs. Towels were soft. Shower was hot with good pressure. Coffee maker and fridge and mucrowave in the room. Love the scent of the shampoo and conditioner.
I attended a conference at the Best Western this past weekend. Meals were all served in house and included options for everyone. Food was plentiful and tasty. Beds were very comfortable. Very attentive staff.
From Check in to check out the staff was always courteous and polite with smiles on their faces no matter where you ran into them. Rooms where clean and comfortable. Breakfast was well presented and had good options.
There isn't a great deal of hotel choice in Peterborough so hot foot it to this Best Western. Why? Super huge rooms, amazing house keeping, decent breakfast, friendly staff and a gardening team who take great pride in the grounds and keep it all immaculate. There is a pleasant lobby area on entry - lots of guests eating take outs, not a problem - and a pool and gym. We stayed for over a week and it was great. No complaints.
Traveled to Peterborough from Minnesota and stayed at the Best Western. Found the hotel to be clean, updated, good breakfast. Situated on a river, good location, and close to many activities. From check in to check out, every staff member including housekeeping and breakfast staff, were so friendly and never missed an opportunity to greet a guest passing by. In my opinion, this is a hidden gem.
Excellent customer service, clean and spacious room and some rooms with a balcony, fireplace and a jetted tub!!! I would recommend this hotel for business or leisure trips and will be returning when I am in the area.
We checked in on the Friday night of the August long weekend, the process was quick and easy. Front desk staff were helpful the entire weekend. The room was basic but comfortable for 5 of us, they were quick to bring us extra towels, house keeping was quick and efficient. Breakfast was included and was just ok which is fine. But the breakfast room was super crowded all the time, not many places to sit and eat. The river behind the hotel is a lovely place to sit and relax. The location of the hotel was convenient for where we were going and tried out several restaurants that were all relatively close by. The pool was clean and not busy when we went. Had a great time and we will stay here again.
Yes, I have come back again since 2015 and it was just as I expected a nice clean room, a nice pool and hot tub and the breakfast was spot on as far as I was concerned. Very good service and the staff was friendly very helpful. Another Best Western that I didn't want to leave. Hope to see you again next year.
Stayed overnight Sunday August 4, 2019 in a 2nd floor room with a river view. Room is tired and run-down, in need of a renovation ASAP. Hotel was contacted to provide feedback with a request that Manager phone guest to touch base on concerns. In hindsight, should have requested another room as learned that hotel has completed renovations in other units. Please note, staff are very friendly and the environment was clean. Unfortunately, the room presents as being repaired as needed until a renovation takes place. Must admit not an inviting/positive stay – we left early morning and grabbed breakfast on the road.
Taking the time to travel to the Kawarthas before a long weekend to visit Petroglyphs Provincial Park near Peterborough gave us a great opportunity to enjoy Best Western luxury without suffering blackflies and mosquitoes.
My husband and I always enjoy staying at the BW in Peterborough. Lovely staff, clean, comfortable rooms and we love the river view from the rear facing rooms. Each room on the second floor has a private wooden deck with two chairs. The breakfast is quite typical, but we always leave satisfied. The bed was nicely appointed with quality linens and pillows and the towels were very white and fluffy.
The service was excellent. The lobby, breakfast room, pool area and corridors were all very clean. Our room was great; a nice large TV and a comfy bed, with a nice view of the river from our balcony. Breakfast, pool and hottub were all great. Worth a trip.
We stayed at this location for one night while close by for a wedding. I called a few days before to ask for an early check in as we wanted to get ready for the wedding after driving in from out of town. The staff were friendly and attentive. They understood that we wanted to catch a shuttle to the wedding venue at 2:00. Luckily, there was space available for us to get into our room by 12:45 so we had plenty of time upon arrival to get ready. The hotel appears recently renovated inside and the rooms were clean and modern. The included buffet breakfast was standard and all we needed before driving home the next day.
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times. The last time, we arrived expecting to stay for our usual one night and because a family member had been unexpectedly hospitalized, we needed to stay longer. The two gentlemen who are the day time front desk clerks and Amita, were very kind and helpful as we ended up staying in 3 different rooms over the 4 days. We certainly appreciated the way they made sure we had a room for the next day and moved us as soon as possible. I've reviewed this hotel before and as always, the rooms are clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast is better than most hotels offer and using real dishes and cutlery is environmentally friendly and much nicer! The breakfast staff work hard to provide a very nice spread and unlike some places, they do watch and wipe the tables between guests. The hotel is close to the downtown area and is located in a park like setting. From one of our rooms, we watched canoeists paddling along the river. Twice, we've asked for a very minor repair and the maintenance man came quickly and fixed things for us properly and right away. This continues to be the hotel we choose when visiting Peterborough.
Location to the Marina and downtown is terrific. 20 minute walk to the downtown core or a short 5 minute drive gets you to the heart of the city. Room we stayed in had the separate bedroom with a King in it and a living area with kitchenette and couches. Excellent value any time of year. Use your Best Western points especially in the off season. Internet connection is good for streaming Netflix without delay or that annoying buffering. The Front Desk Clerks were very helpful on activities going on in the city or upcoming.
\\Hotel was a great location! i loved the grounds - so green and lots of space to enjoy the outdoors. We had a kitchenette so we enjoyed that and made use of the extra space. Hotel was clean and staff was courteous and friendly.
It happened that our overnight stay coincided with the parking lot being cordoned off for morning painting. As both my husband & myself are handicapped, upon reception at the front desk I expressed concern of accessibility to our room, as it meant having to push a loaded luggage cart across a grassy area some distance. The receptionist's response to my query was, "Well, if you want to hop into the cart I could push you across; ha ha ha!!" When I said I thought her response 'over the top' she retorted that she "meets people like me from all over the world", so I asked what she meant by 'people like me' and she countered with "I work in a minimum pay job and you're giving me a hard time." I felt ridiculed for not being able to easily access the room we'd been booked in - fully undervalued as a guest. All else was fine at this Best Western - our ultimate room change was acceptable and the breakfast included was more than we'd expected. Our reception, however, resulted in a highly negative experience to culminate what had been a perfect week away - our stay here was our last night before returning home. What is needed is proper staff training in customer relations. Your clients should matter most .
Best Western Otanabee in Peterborough is a great place to stay. I have stayed there many times over many years and the hotel has been well maintained and rooms are clean and up to date with furnishings. Beds are comfortable with a great sized TV in each room. The complimentary breakfast is excellent with freshly prepared eggs, sausage and bacon, not frozen and micro waved food. prices are great and staff are friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.
I always stay here when I travel to Peterborough. Staff is professional and friendly. Rooms are clean, roomy and inviting. The front lobby has been renovated and looks even more inviting. The bedsand bedding are super comfortable. Location is great.
Friendly staff is the best first impression at check-in. When the attendant takes the time and effort to walk you to your room, you know they pay attention to guests. Comfortable room with a river view and a little balcony, perfect to enjoy a drink at the end of the day. The hotel is easy to find and minutes from downtown.
Upon arrival, the check-in went smoothly and our pre-booked, preferred location - riverside - was ready, even as early as we were at 1:30. Room was clean and ideally locTed, with parking close by. With soft, fluffy towels and few others using the, we enjoyed the spacious pool & hot tub each day. Lockers in the change room would be a welcome addition. Our booking included breakfast with a variety of foods - yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, eggs, sausages, juices, ... and more. A nice compliment to our stay. The room itself, while a bit small, has a very comfortable bed, big-screen TV, mini-fridge, microwave, walk out deck, ... The bathroom was very clean, well supplied. had good water pressure and very hot water. The hotel has a well equipped exercise / workout area S well. Would surely stay here again if in Peterborough.
We live in southern Ontario and travel frequently to Ottawa. We stop at this hotel both coming and going to Ottawa. We have had one problem in our many stays. The heater in the bathroom would not turn down or shut off. I spoke to the front desk and they solved the problem within minutes. Comfortable rooms with view of the river. Grounds are well maintained and picture worthy. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Lobby is currently under renovation.
Quiet area and hotel, clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff, comfortable beds, I have stayed there a number of times over the last few years so can say that this review fits for all my stays. Did not take in the breakfast so cannot comment on that
We love this hotel and want to stay in the same room every time we stay it's a yearly visit for my boyfriend and I to have some time alone away from the children and it's always been amazing! The staff made it possible for us to check in early and check out late! Thanks everyone!
We enjoyed our first stay at this Inn. Our ‘riverside' room was a nice size, clean, well appointed with a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and large screen tv. The beds were comfy, the shower pressure was amazing! We enjoyed the pool and hot tubs. The breakfast had a nice selection of hot and cold options and the staff did a great job of keeping everything replenished. This Inn had friendly staff and guests.
I'd never been to this hotel and would certainly consider staying here again based on my experience. Currently undergoing renovations, it's clear that when they're all done, this will be even a more pleasing facility. My room was freshly renovated with everything clean and neat. It's not fancy, but it's a good value.
Had a river view room which provided lots of entertainment watching the local wildlife. The room was very clean and had a mini fridge and microwave. Didn't think there was a blow dryer in the room, but then found it on the top shelf of the closet in a bag. There isn't a safe in the room, but they provide a safety box service at the front desk during limited hours. Found the bed to be very soft and there was a lot of noise from the hall. Luckily it wasn't too busy and that wasn't much of an issue. Really enjoyed the sausages and the scrambled eggs with peppers for breakfast.
Perfect location for a convention, with a free continental breakfast included and restaurants within walking distance. I used the gym and was very satisfied with the equipment. This was my second time to this hotel. The last time I used the pool and hot tub, however this time there was a lot of children due to a dance competition going on so I stayed away from it.
We enjoyed our stay with no problems. Everything we needed was either at the hotel or within a short distance. We traveled with a hockey team and would consider staying here again. The desk staff was helpful with any questions.
Highly recommended, gorgeous waterfront view, excellent fast and friendly customer service, staff went out of their way to promptly bring front desk request items and to find a conference room for the hockey team to socialize.
I stayed at this hotel while in Peterborough for work. There are limited options in Peterborough, and most hotels seem to be getting a bit long in the tooth. Paint, wallpaper, hardware, trim and carpet were rather dated and showed a fair amount of wear and tear. I had a large room with a fireplace. The floor was a little uneven and it squeaked and creaked as I walked around. The ceiling was also uneven and had stains and peeling paint. The bed mattress was uneven and dipped on one side. The shower/tub combo had a unique jet system I've never seen before, but the instructions displayed for the jets' control system were incomplete at best. Breakfast was a little on the low end of things for complimentary hotel breakfasts. The room was generally clean and the heating/cooling worked well. I did not visit the pool or the exercise room.
The stay was generally okay. The place is a little older, but the room view is beautiful. It was clean. The air conditioning in the room would not turn off, and kept running. At night, I had to unplug it to sleep, and could not moderate the temperature. Could be a on off for the room.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the front desk staff were pleasant. Breakfast had a good variety and a large seating area. Rooms were large and the beds were comfortable. Met all my expectations for this type of hotel.
The staff is amazing. The rooms are comfortable and the rates are very reasonable. The staff at the front desk really make it a stellar experience. They will go out of their way to make the stay as comfortable as possible. And, I'm looking forward to the summer when I can explore the grounds - the location on the river make it quite attractive. Great hotel.
I have a physical disability. Once I checked into our assigned room, it became evident that although it was nice room it was not going to work for me. I went down to the front desk and immediately they placed us in a room that was most suitable. This was done with a spirit of good will and leaving me with a feeling of self-worth and respect. Gerry
This is the only decent hotel I've stayed at in Peterborough. The hotel is a bit dated, so the exterior look and interior decor look old and needs freshening up. However, the hotel amenities and rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. The executive rooms on the fourth floor of the main building are cozy. The hotel offers the options to either skip cleaning the room or provide 'towel refresh' which is great for the environment. The breakfast is just ok, nothing really fancy. I would go back to this hotel.
Very enjoyable stay at the Otonabee Inn Best Western. Room was very clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Assisted with room key that would not work and directing to appropriate areas of the hotel as well as assisting with a late checkout. Breakfast was very good and plentiful with beautiful view from the dining area of the river. Good value for money.
Lovely, clean and efficient...great breakfast choices, friendly staff. Good location...not walkable into downtown. I would return again! Pretty views of the frozen river must be lovely in the other seasons!
I stayed in the Otonabee Inn first time 25 years ago. It was a great place to stay at that time. Over all those years nothing changed - still the best place to stay in Peterborough. It is like home away from home.
The Otonabee Inn is always very welcoming and comfortable. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is delicious and seating area very clean. We enjoy the comfortable and spacious rooms with both microwave and fridge. We only stay here:)
I was very disappointed not to have received a response to my feedback I provided to this hotel so I will warn anyone that needs accessibility NOT to book this hotel. The accessible room is a complete insult and obviously designed by someone without a clue of what a mobility challenged person needs. From the grab bar beside the toilet being installed in the wrong direction and therefore completely useless to the glass shower doors that someone without use of their legs can't get their body through. The rest of our hotel experience was great but so incredibly disappointed in the complete lack of empathy shown for our situation.
The online booking process directly through the Best Western website was easy and the company followed up with several emails leading up to my stay. The hotel sits adjacent to a river which I am sure is lovely in the summer but not a selling feature in the winter. The front desk staff were courteous and professional. Our room seemed to be in an older part of the building. The hallway was freezing but the room was warm. The layout of the hotel is somewhat disjointed after a couple of apparent additions. The rooms themselves are somewhat dated with older fixtures and carpeting, but everything was clean and working. The TV was big and modern with an easy clean remote (those things are usually germ habitats). The bed was cozy and comfortable with white duvet covers and sheets. I would have slept well, but the upstairs visitors were loud and excited well into the night. The noise between floors was quite noticeable. We visited the pool area and used the hot tub, which was extremely hot! A welcome dip after a long day of driving. Breakfast was included in the price and there was a nice selection of cereals, breads, eggs, sausage etc. The location is a short drive to downtown and the local arena. It would be a longish walk downtown, but completely doable for the who walk a lot. This is an okay value hotel with the perks of super comfy beds, free breakfast, wifi and pool. Great for hockey families.
The hotel itself is fine, needs an update but , beds and linens were fine. The pool was absolutely horrible, the water was foggy but yet they obviously still used an excessive amount of chemicals. As soon as you walked into the pool area, your eyes would burn from the chemical smell, instant coughing for anyone that was brave enough to go in the pool, we saw kids puking at the pool ( the pool didn't close after this to clean up the puke) and then after all Of that, many children got rashes from the chemicals used in the pool. As long as you avoid the pool this hotel is good.
Had a really good quiet stay at this Best Western hotel. Staff were friendly, gym equipment was in good shape, 2 double bed was huge. Breakfast was as expected for a buffet style hotel breakfast. Overall very happy with my stay here. Would recommend it for sure!
We were left stranded on the side of the road and had too book a quick room for the night. Booked through CAA and the service was fantastic. Very friendly staff went above average due to our situation
Excellent hotel and staff. Clean and very comfortable rooms. Staff was exceptional, at every level. We would definitely recommend the Best Western Otonabee Hotel in Peterborough, Ontario to everyone! It is within walking distance of a great restaurant (The Carousel)!
I was met by very welcoming reception personnelle. Both women were very professional, and expedited the check in process. They were very knowledgeable of the local restaurants and suggested that I might enjoy a particular family Italian restaurant. ( I truly enjoyed the restaurant!). The room was spotless and the friendly cleaning staff ensured that everything was in order for the two days I was visiting. The bed was comfortable and the view was onto a frozen river landscape that I enjoyed when I awoke. Connectivity was very good and I experienced no droppages. The complementary morning breakfast was very good, and seconds as well as the coffee in abundance. The eating area was very adequate and the view most relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpfulParking was free and easy to find even though the hotel seemed full (Local Hockey tournament). The room was quiet and the temperature set in the room was easily adjustable. The water pressure was very good and the hot water abundant. The desk was most adequate and lighting was fine.
Great Hotel, Ample Parking, Easy access to downtown, Good Breakfast. Walmart is 10 min driving, 5 mins drive to Highway, Clean rooms, Microwave was part of the Room so I could cook. Fitness center and Swimming pool also good, although I did not use it.
We always love staying at this location. The staff are great and you always feel welcome. Check in and check out are always quick and easy. Like all the other hotel/motels in and around the Peterborough area a little decor update wouldn't hurt but we just prefer this place for the staff and comfort.
Not the best room. Bed too soft, water was cloudy and undrinkable. TV had no onscreen program guide. Internet & TV went down 3 hours after arriving. Bathroom so small you could barely turn around. Good view.
We enjoyed our breakfast very handy being steps away. The staff were very friendly and polite. We didn't make it to the pool but it was surely a bonus We will go back. It would be pretty in the summer being on the river. Very relaxing having our own balcony
Stayed here overnight while on business and had no regrets. Although the hotel property and rooms appear to be a bit outdated, the staff is very friendly and professional, and the room itself was very clean and comfortable. And to top it off, the breakfast was amazing with good variety and taste. Overall, a relaxing experience.
My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Plus, Otonabee Inn for one night in October. We enjoyed the stay. The several staff I spoke to were extremely professional and pleasant. I appreciate that. Kudos to management. The room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. We did get some noise in the morning from the breakfast room directly below, so enquire about your location. Large elevator and access to luggage carts made getting to the room a breeze. We had a lovely view of the river. Lots of towels. Enjoyed the therapy tub. Ten minute walk to one of the finer dining establishments in town. Wifi was good. Did not get a chance to test the pool. We are not breakfast people but the selection seemed fine. Coffee was a bit weak. Having just spent a couple weeks in Italy it would be great to see Canadian hotels acquire the automated coffee / cappuccino / latte / espresso machines so ubiquitous in Europe. I would recommend the hotel for its location and pleasant staff.
Hotel and meeting facilities were very good and staff were top drawer. Everything was enjoyable which adds to the value of attending the meeting we were at. How many more characters are required to meet an arbitrary minimum which has no bearing on a concise review?
Excellent stay. Nicely updated hotel. Fireplace a nice touch. Balcony overlooking the Otonabee River.Easy access off Highway #7 Good parking. Two foors with elevators at most entrances and luggage carts as well.
In Peterborough for family wedding, the property was clean and tidy. We had a room very nicely appointed over looking the river. 2 queen beds, small balcony, love that we could open the sliding doors for fresh air. Small fridge, coffee makings, large flat screen tv, separate bath & toilet, sink separated. Good sized breakfast room for property, both size and food offerings. Staff helpful and clear. Lots of parking. Pool and hot tub we didn't use. Would define use again, book in advance!
This is a very good lovely hotel at Peterborough. It was a lovely stay with ample Parking. The rooms are clean, Staff is helpful and has a good breakfast, Room Internet was good and did not find any slowness at all.
This hotel appeared to be a bit dated in decor. But we found it to be clean and comfortable enough for one night. We enjoyed our view overlooking the river. The hotel was large and rather noisy, with young sports teams staying there. This meant that the breakfast was somewhat crowded as well. But this was an OK stay for a night.
We had a king room overlooking the river everything was great! Had hot breakfast that was delicious no complaints what so ever. We are all ready planning to come back again. Thanks so much for a great time.
Great staff , failed to note to me they were renovating. We had the king suite and the jetted tub kept going off in the middle of the night we had to call down to the front desk and have them shut off breaker ! Then turn it on if we wanted the tub . They staff was friendly and food in am was great the pool is smaller but still super nice. Overall good place to stay when Reno's are done
A group of 6 girlfriends have stayed there 2 years in a row. We stay in the fireplace suites and they suit our needs perfectly . The hotel staff is friendly and very helpful. Check in and out are very efficient. Lovely grounds with ample parking. Complimentary breakfast has lots of choices .
The service was great. Check in was easy. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good the next morning including hot and cold items not just the usual waffle machine. It is a lovely setting along the river and ducks joined us for breakfast on the deck. One part of the hotel is separate from the other so it might be chilly in the winter going for breakfast if you are in the tower as you have to walk to other building but it's only a few steps.
We stayed only one night while seeing family in Peterborough. Although the hotel was fully booked, the check in and check out were fast and the staff members were friendly and pleasant. We had a peaceful riverside room and felt perfectly safe leaving our balcony door open all night. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
From the appearance of the front of the hotel and driveway, thru to the clean, comfortable rooms, every visit is highly anticipated knowing we can just relax because everything is OK.The friendly, helpful, efficient front desk folks are amazing! The breakfast is unbelievable. Hot, fresh, delicious!
great room - well laid out with various areas a bit separate from each other - great view of the water - lovely grounds - good pool area - super staff -friendly & concerned about my comfort - great breakfast - lots of choices, pleasant room - the hot food was hot. Always a pleasant stay at this Best Western. Highly recommend.
Clean friendly hotel on the river, comfortable bed and ample parking. Always choose this hotel when in Peterborough for business. Decent restaurants within walking distance. Staff helpful and bright spirited.
Great Hotel for our over night experience. I am disappointed we didn't get to spend more time there as we stayed overnight just for our family reunion at a lake house near by. That being said the in-room wifi was great, no down time and no disruptions. We had a main floor room with a semi-private deck over looking the pond where there were ducks and wildlife. No noisy neighbors as the majority of the other guests were elderly or young couples with small kids so everyone was in bed by 9pm. The TV was bigger than the one we have at home and we enjoyed a little late night TLC lol. The bed in our room was a double and I would not suggest this for a couple as we basically slept on top of each other. There was a small bar fridge and microwave in our room. It was surprising that the sink is outside the washroom in a carpet area but we didn't have any issues with it, we just found it kinda odd. Lots of room within the space. This is an older hotel so the carpet is green, the decor is oak and the pictures on the wall are 1980ish but it's homey. In the morning you can hear everyone above you walking around and the showers, toilets etc. but this didn't start until around 7 am. We enjoyed the breakfast which included eggs, sausage, french toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal etc. they even have to go cups for your coffee and a patio outside to sit and enjoy the seagulls trying to snatch your food on the grass below. Lots of parking too and speedy check-in.
otonabbee inn in peterborough is one to remember, very electric and a view to live for, just go for a walk around the palatial landscape and you'll definitely remember your time here, luxury for price you can live with!!!
Stayed four days while attending a conference. The room was clean and adequate. The room featured a sliding door to a deck that faced the river. This was a very nice feature. The bathroom had been updated and provided grab bars in the tub. Only complaint, the beds were too soft. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I recommend this hotel.
Nice rooms, very nice breakfast, very friendly staff. There was a bit of noise travel in room 443 where we stayed but not too bad - not sure how it would stand up to a sports team being in the same hall as you. Best rewards program I've seen and the bathroom amenities were as nice or nicer than some Hilton's I've stayed in. Great option, excellent value.
The riverside location is peaceful and calming. Our room faced the river and had a small porch. Very nice. The bathrooms have clearly been updated (heated flooring). Very good. The beds could use upgrading. Breakfast was good. Location is very good - not in the city centre but very close to all amenities. Overall a good experience
we have stayed at this Best Western a few time with very positive results. We have recommended this hotel to friend and family. Easy access to all areas. very quiet and relaxing stays. The breakfast was excellent, wide variety of food and drink. Staff was very accommodating and helpful.
We stayed at the Otonabee Inn for 5 nights, room 207. The room was comfortable and clean. Nice view over the river from the balcony. Breakfast is good. Front desk service very friendly, helpful and efficient. Weren't too happy about the side entrances not being locked, but all in all a very pleasant stay. Will be happy to visit again.
I have stayed here many times in the last few years. Always quite happy with the rooms, especially if we get the river rooms. These rooms have a walk-out to individual small decks on the lawn over looking the river. Makes you feel like you are on vacation at someone else's cottage.
Excellent family facility Great for children with all amenities close by. Excellent local attractions (Reptile world, Riverview Zoo) and beautiful riverside location. Good value and friendly staff. Thank you!
I stay on August 9 the room is very nice outside on patio facing river was very beautiful. We had ducks that came up from river to visit us. The pool is nice and deep but they do have a shallow side. Yes they have a hot tub and its also very warm. The breakfast was good and plenty it's buffet style with eggs and ham. I did enjoy the french toast with the raspberry sauce. I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family and I'm sure I be back there in the spring or summer of next year. Thank you to all tha staff at the hotel for making this my number 1 hotel in Peterborough
Nice hotel, loved the pool and hot tub. Yummy Breakfast right along the river, very nice view. Room was clean and comfortable just needed a new box spring as noticed it was broken. Desk staff was friendly and helpful, and politely answered all our questions.
A nice hotel, comfortable beds, great little breakfast area. Only complaint was elevators at the time were not working properly. Felt the hotel could have acted better to rectify the problem. 4 floors was a little much to walk for some. We waited 10- 15 minutes for elevator at times. This was still an issue the following morning and still had not been repaired. Seemed to be intermittent issue. They did compensate us with a small credit on our room at check out. Would suggest a sign to notify guests there is an issue occurring. Otherwise I would absolutely recommend this hotel while visiting Peterborough.
This staff makes it easy to check in and out - consistently friendly, knowledgeable about the area and very capable. As a business traveler, I couldn't ask for more. And some of the rooms have a great, peaceful winding little river view - an oasis in a traveler's day. Thank you.
My wife and I were In town for wedding. This is a very clean hotel, excellent staff, very friendly and accommodating. Great hot breakfast included in room rate, definitely stay here again next time we require a hotel in Peterborough.
Great location, decent free breakfast. Went for a better room, but the price was still reasonable. Check in and out went smoothly. Hot tub a little small for this type of location, but pool was great. Carpet and some other areas look a little worn, but I/we didn't mind. Air conditioner stopped working while we were taking a nap. Ruined it. We were tired and tried to take another one, but someone was working on the next room and the incessant banging of tools woke us up again. We were very tired and not happy with this. TV remote had goo on it. Those were the bad things, but otherwise we would have rated this a 5 star.
The hotel check in was fast, very clean hotel, breakfast items were excellent. We went as a group of ten and enjoyed the gazebo they had by the river. So relaxing, quite and nice place to enjoy company with our friends. The overall appearance was very good, the rooms had a nice setup, beds were very comfortable and it was so quite at night. We all said that when we retired for the night we never heard any noise, halls, traffic etc.
Rooms seem to have been recently upgraded. Excellent WiFi connection and a super wide screen television. Very confortable bed. Quiet location but yet close to numerous amenities. Very efficient checking. Free breakfast is not sumptuous but it has a variety of options.
Had a great sleep and the breakfast was not too bad. Would go back if the need arose. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel was very close to the place I needed to be.
We stayed July 6 and 7 2018. Had an amazing room with view of a river. Very serene and had visitors of ducks and geese to amuse us. The staff are very friendly and helpful from the front desk, breakfast staff and grounds keeper. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. Newly renovated rooms first floor riverview.
This is a regular spot for me when in Peterborough - great front desk staff - very helpful - like rooms with a river view ( had room # 107 on this visit ) - close to restaurants - good breakfast - good internet - close to highway access - I will be back.
The room was spic and span. Beautiful modern design, two queen beds, bathtub and shower fabulous. Big screen TV. Bedding was very nice and clean.. The pool and hot tub on the main floor was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was nice , Continental Breakfast. Even had gluten free bread for my daughter who is gluten free. Lovely overnight stay, will return in the future. Thanks for making our stay so nice.
good front desk staff, helpful and a nice room facing the river. Wall paper could be redone as it is separating in some places. A bit noisy in the evening with people outside but things settled down by 10:30. Typical of some guests who care nothing about others. Good breakfast, included with the cost of accommodations
Only hotel for many miles/kms with an EV-Tesla charger (only 1, so ask front desk to hold for you. The put cones to hold the spot for us, as we did not park until after 11pm). This is an older hotel with room updates like nicely done new bathroom and heated floor under the tile. However, furniture is older and I think the drapes & carpet too - even possible newer paint did not cover the 'old' smell. Our room was a first floor "river view" and had a door onto a patio with chairs in front of the lawn/river/gazebo... we really enjoyed standing out there and watching the geese! This was an unexpected bonus we thought was great, but be warned the ants out there are huge! Check in staff was nice. My hubby tried some of the breakfast - said it was typical, not having any myself I am not sure if that is a positive comment - LOL. If you are needing an EV charge and must choose this hotel, it is adequate.
#124: On May 31, 2018 I stayed overnight at Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn, Peterborough Ontario. I was treated exceptionally well by all staff there starting with Jeremy who took the last minute booking flawlessly over my poor phone line. Managers, reception and other staff on site were all courteous, very friendly, more than helpful - they truly bent over backward to see that I was settled and had everything I needed. Heat of the day was sweltering, but Lorne dashed after my taxicab 'til the driver came back with a cane I had left in his vehicle. Susan sensed my fatigue and confusion over directions and paused her work to walk gently with me through the hotel to locate my room and open its door. A dear person had already turned on air conditioning ... Next morning I was offered to leave luggage in the Manager's office in order to enjoy breakfast in the Riverview Room while awaiting my cab away. 15 minutes later the Manager approached. She had taken the initiative to check that my cab was on its way as she had seen me waiting outdoors for it. These personal touches were not all that I appreciated. I was also thankful that everyone respected the Do Not Disturb notice placed on my door. The rooms had been well cleaned. The bed was was beautiful, linen fresh and mattress firm to sleep on. Everying was just as Jeremy had told me - exactly as advertised. Fridge and Microwave were in place. Wi-Fi was working. In-room coffee was good...I'm fussy. Patio doors opened from the TV /sitting area onto a private deck that overlooks a parklike area bordering Otonabee River. When I opened the doors to let in some evening air I immediately became aware of a neighbouring deck where people were partying. To my amazement on closing my patio doors once again I could hear absolutely nothing going on outside. Lovely. Also lovely: scent of lilacs & peonies, scent of river & mown grass, a window in any hotel that can open ... What was missing ? No mini-bar. Perhaps that contributes to the aura of peace & quiet. Maybe the pool and fitness rooms contribute that way as well. A grab-bar at bathtub would be helpful. What could be more perfect ? A longer stay. Sincerely, Fan from Room #124
We recently stayed here for one night as we were visiting family. We usually stay further along Landsdowne Street. This hotel has lovely grounds. We were on the road/parking lot side and it was not noisy. The room was very clean and there was a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The shower was great! So big! Checkin and out went quickly. The breakfast was included and appeared to be in another building, however, there is a way to access the breakfast room and to stay indoors which would be great on cold winter days. We are not big breakfast eaters but if you like a hot breakfast, they offered French toast, omelettes and pea-meal bacon so a bit above the average (included) breakfast. They used real china and real cutlery, so again a bit above the places who use paper plates and plastic utensils. Better for the environment, too. The view was lovely so very nice for those who had rooms on that side of the building. The woman working in the breakfast room was working very hard to make sure all items were provided, spills were cleaned up and all was prepared for the next day. Great job. A recycle box in the guest rooms would be a very good addition. On arrival, we were provided with a treat for being Diamond Elite members. Thanks! We would consider staying here on another trip.
We have stayed at this Best Western many times and it is our favourite place to stay when we are visiting relatives in Peterborough. The hotel is always clean and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Lovely hotel. Very nice, quiet room. Excellent breakfast. Right on Highway 7 - easy to find. Friendly, helpful Staff. Bring your swim trunks - there's a nice pool and hot tub. Will pack for next visit.
Have stayed here many times and never been disappointed. They have a great breakfast. Convenient to highway 7 and 115. Great restaurant next door. Close to shopping has a pool and gym. The staff are friendly and always willing to help you
This hotel was okay, the people were pleasent but not very helpful, and you have to walk through the main lobby to get to the pool, which was not great. Breakfast is served in a different building and it was really cold the weekend we were there. all in all it was just an ordinary stay
Our choice of hotel to stay while visiting family in the Peterborough area. rooms are clean, they have a pool and it includes a hot breakfast. reasonable rates for rooms. convenient located. close to nearby restaurants.
Very nice hotel. We arrived in Peterborough early. Our room was ready & we were able to check in before the regular time. The room was quiet, spacious & comfortable. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the river. Will definitely book the same room if we go back in the summer. The pool is large. Breakfast was very good. Friendly staff.
The hotel is clean. The breakfast buffet substantial. Others have given it negative reviews. I am not quite sure what they want out of a free breakfast buffet. There are plenty of choices—healthy and otherwise. The rooms are a bit dated, but like I said, it's CLEAN. We had a room overlooking the river. Unfortunately it was cold and snowing so we weren't able to enjoy the little patio. Our room key stopped working on the last morning after breakfast. I had to assess the main building and lobby by going outside...a bit of an inconvenience because of the snow and cold. Lastly when checking in, the woman at the front desk was obviously sick with a cold...wadded up damp tissue in her hand, coughing, sniffing. Then she hands me the room key cards. Yuck. I brought this up to the front desk manager when we checked out. He assured me the matter would be taken to the hotel manager. Have stayed here before. We will again.
Great Hotel, service is great people have a smile all the time. Would recommend to anyone, close to restaurant, bars, rooms are clean, they always look after me. Everyone is happy. Stayed here in the past had same experience.
This Best Western ids very good and excellent value for the dollar. The breakfast is very good. It's located within walking distance to three restaurant: one typical family restaurant, a roadhouse type bar & a high end steakhouse. Something for every one. Always stay here when in Peterborough,
This hotel is in a very convenient location in Peterborough. Even though it is on a main thoroughfare, it is very quiet. We didn't hear any road noise. The rooms are clean and beds comfortable. The hotel backs onto a river which is a lovely spot to walk and unwind. Didn't give a 5 only because the pool is heated and makes it very uncomfortable to swim., it was more l8e a hot tub. If you don't want to swim, then this is the hotel for you.
We stayed here for one night on our way out to Ottawa. I don't understand how in the world it got such high marks from other travellers. The only thing I can think of is that there are two buildings- the main multi story building and then a separate 2 story building that runs along the river which is what we stayed in. This sounds nice enough but come on...the building is in desperate need of some improvements beyond the new elevator they are installing. It seems to me that this was once an open corridor type motel that they enclosed based on the construction. The common areas are terrible. Very rundown and dated. There was a funny smell in the ground floor "lobby" that we couldn't figure out. The room itself wasn't bad and you could tell they had done some improvements but it was very dated although it did appear clean. The bed was comfortable as well. The finishes were generally pathetic- like something out of an ugly 70's house. We had a suite and the lighting in the sitting area was horrible. Very uninviting. I can't speak for the breakfast as we decided to drive to the nearest McDonald's (just because we generally like that better). If I compare this hotel to others in it's bracket it does not do well. I wish I could give it a 2.5 instead of a 3 because that's what it is especially considering the price. I am thinking the main building is much nicer and perhaps that where the good reviews come from however if you stay in the building along the river it's not great. Perhaps the elevator installation is part of a larger renovation to clean this part of the hotel up but just keep in mind to ask for the main building when you book.
Their mattress and pillows are amazing. You won't want to get out of bed. The staff was very friendly. Very clean rooms and hotel. Nice to have a complimentary breakfast. Great hotel for a very good price.
Stayed for an overnight before a business meeting and was pleasantly surprised. Greeting at front desk was very friendly, check in only took moments. Room had one queen size bed with sofa and lots of room to do a beach Body workout in the morning. Room was very clean, as was bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Room was also super quiet! Didn't hear people in the hallway. Breakfast buffet was standard, pre-made omelettes, pemeal bacon, toast, tea/coffee, yogurt, Quaker oatmeal packets (good toppings to add), oranges, apples, fruit salad, hard boiled eggs, small pastries. Looks like a nice pool, but didn't actually use it. Pleased with my stay!
Lovely location along the river. Rooms clean, comfortable, bed comfortable, microwave, bar fridge, coffee maker. Adjoining rooms available. Some rooms overlook the river and have a balcony or deck, would be very nice to have that outdoor option, other than in winter. Handicap accessible. Breakfast room bright and clean, overlooks the river. Hot and cold options, plenty for everyone, takeout coffee cups. Staff were helpful and friendly. Small fitness room with a few cardio machines and free weights, pool area clean and bright, doors to outdoor patio area in summer, skylights, pool water was warm and the pool area room temperature was warm which made it very pleasant for swimming, hot tub as well. Change rooms were clean, pool towels available. A very enjoyable experience.
Came for a 2 night business trip to Peterborough. This hotel isn't remodelled but it kept very nice and clean. Our room was a good size, had good water pressure and had a very clean bathroom which I feel is important. The beds were comfortable and pillows were perfect. Room had little personal size coffee maker, microwave and fridge area. Hotel staff are friendly and welcoming during our stay. Pool is good size and food for breakfast was actually pretty decent with eggs, sausage and make your own yogurt station (loved this!) I would recommend this hotel and will gladly return.
We booked many rooms for an onsite wedding the hotel staff were great! They kept the pool open for us late! Very clean and friendly great breakfast! Close to the water for great pics and views and close to restaurants and shopping
We had one of the rooms with a fireplace and Jacuzzi hot tub. Were there just for one night but would go back for at least 2 nights next time. Room was big, had a balcony to sit on, tub was great and the fireplace was sweet! Double sided so it heated the bedroom side and the hot tube side. Breakfast next morning was mediocre but edible. Would like to go back in the summer time too. If you go, on your way home go to Fran's butcher just east of here. Get the "Award Winning Bacon". Sooooooooo good!
We lucked the 3rd floor as it is for business people. However there were several families with young kids running up and down the halls til midnight, screaming, swinging off a baggage carrier they found. Despite numerous complaints from other guests, including us, nothing was done except to say they'd send security up at 9:30. Guard must've gotten lost both nights. Unbelievable lack of parenting.
I saw a nice looking place right next door but only after having returned from dinner. The hotel is clean and rooms are well furnished. Breakfast is included --- limited choices but it suited the purpose for the four of us. I would book and stay here again.
Clean, comfortable, good reception. Room was good. Large TV, WiFi, clean. Breakfast offered large selection...help yourself. Eggs, pancakes, fruit, juices, ham, coffee, tea bakery goods. Clean! Tables spaced. View of garden very nice and TV for news, weather. Pool and gym available. Berc's Steakhouse near for a good dinner. Quiet this time of year. Highly recommend.
My husband and I always go here? for little getaway trips. We live in Bancroft, so we go to Peterborough for concerts, dining, etc and we always stay here. Lovely view, great location, helpful staff, good pool. See you soon!
Excellent stay.We we're having a children free weekend away, chose the king suite with whirlpool and fireplace, very relaxing, will definitely be back again.Great view of the river from the balcony, will be very nice in the summer.
This is a Best Western Plus Minus. Everything is done on the cheap. The sheet and blanket are hot summer weight. The tissues in the bathroom are fine grade sandpaper. Walking outdoors to the breakfast room in -20 is an unpleasant surprise which is not compensated for with uninspired food choices and desultory staff. On the positive side, the “room was clean” although after standing in a water saving shower that was 80% air, I'm not so sure about me
Very clean hotel, salt water pool was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well presented. Hot Breakfast was included with a wide choice of options. Beautiful scenery from the dining area. Wonderful stay!
I arrived fairly late to an empty lobby. I used the house phone to ‘call' the front desk which I was standing at, and the clerk answers ‘front desk' - I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. ?? Seemed a little crazy having to walk outside ... to get to my ‘hotel' room?? (indoor hallway OUTSIDE of the room) Staff was very helpful and friendly. Here's the breakdown in pros and cons (Pros outweighing the cons I think) + microwave and fridge + beside a park + exercise room and hot breakfast - 1 of 2 treadmills broken - dated decor - 2nd building accessed by walking outside
Everything was excellent, including the facility and all he staff. The room were excellent. The staff were excellent. The food was excellent. We found it restful and really enjoyed our stay. We will recommend this motel to everyone.
This hotel has two sections, one much newer than the other. We have stayed at this hotel many times for its location and pool, however, after staying in many different rooms, it is time for them to upgrade to new mattresses.
nice quiet location on the otaonbee river. Walking distance to a couple of local pubs and restaurants. Not far from downtown. Overall our go to hotel in Peterborough. Standard hot hotel breakfast could always use improvement. But it is nice to have.
I always stay at the Otanabee Inn every time I visit Peterborough - which is about 5 times per year. I have tried all the other hotels and there is no other place that compares to the Otanabee. The hotel is currently building a second elevator which will mean that the whole hotel is accessible. Some of the rooms have a wonderful river view, which is fantastic even in winter. Beautiful pool and hot tub and a good continental breakfast. The one criticism is that the prices are going up - while it is still the best value it isn't a cheap stay in the winter. Book early, the hotel is often full.
Clean room, friendly people and breakfast. I was upgraded to a different room on arrival and the extra space was very appreciated. Quite possibly the best accommodations in Peterborough. I'd stay there again, for sure.
Good, clean and comfortable place to stay. Easy check in and out. Standard hotel room. Quiet room. Would recommend staying in this hotel. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced. The beds are clean and comfortable.
We were pleasantly surprised with the Otonabee Inn. Upon arriving we were upgraded to a King Suite with Jacuzzi & fireplace. Room #201 was quite spacious, warm and comfortable with all the amenities one can expect. The breakfasts were great compared with many that we have had with competitors. The breakfast area was spacious and well organized. We were fortunate to be here mid-week in the off season. Thus there was little congestion. Extremely pleasant staff in all areas of the hotel. This hotel is well off the road...thus eliminating traffic noise. We will definitely return to the Otonabee Inn.
Nice and clean, updated rooms. the business floors are great with very nice suites. Breakfast is a notch above. The staff is pleasant and helpful. A decent loctation with restaurants within walking distance.
I've stayed at this Best Western several times in the last few years. The service has always been exceptional. This time, I stayed with my sister who was very impressed with the hotel and who said that she would recommend it to others. It has always been the hotel in Peterborough which I have recommended to others who are coming into the city.
We were travelling in the Peterborough area and took a room for the night. Room was very clean and the service very caring. Fantastic shower head in the bathroom. Silly I know but it was great. Plenty to offer at the breakfast buffet. Something for everyone.
Fantastic motel, great rooms, caring staff, excellent breakfast, very quiet, lots of free parking, good reception area decor. Beds were very comfortable and easy access from hotel lobby. Very clean bathroom.
Great stay on the weekend! My only concern was that is was cheaper to book with Expedia than to have a group of 15 families staying at this hotel. Something doesn't seem right! Hotel was clean. Pool was great.
Great place to stay. The staff are very helpful and make you feel like your at home. The rooms are always spotless. They are always updating something every time we stay there is something new or updated.
Spent four days at this hotel while in Peterborough. The room was spacious, clean and modern. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Free breakfast, the standard toast, cereal, scrambled eggs. The hotel is close to downtown. Free parking, free wifi
After staying at the Holiday Inn or Super 8 on occasion, I can say that in Peterborough, The Otonabee Inn Best Western has the nicest location, the best breakfast, and the rate is very competitive given the higher standards and staff service. It's in a very picturesque setting, overlooking the Otonabee River at the edge of town. The staff are like a family - and offer very consistent, friendly and helpful service. Nice gym, too, which I've used quite a bit - clean, and has all the equipment most people are looking for - treadmills, elliptical, stationary bike plus a universal gym for resistance training. Rooms are very update on the 4th floor - but there are also a variety of lovely rooms with balconies looking right onto the river, some of which are a bit dated, but always very clean. There have been ongoing upgrades and renovations to keep improving style and quality.
A large, comfortable room, spotlessly clean and well maintained - we'd return here anytime! Since there was a kids hockey team in we were put on the fourth floor and had a surprisingly noiseless stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the complimentary breakfast was better than most.
Coming from a few nights stay at a 4 star Toronto hotel where the mattress was hard and the pillows thin and lumpy, on my way home it was such a pleasure to experience Best Western's always-super-comfortable beds and pillows, had a great sleep! I'm really becoming convinced Best Western Plus is by far the best hotel value around, rather than fancy lobbies and flashy finishes they put their money into comfort and service.
This is a great hotel to stay. The price is very reasonable and, it was nice and clean, the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and their was plenty of food for breakfast. I would recommend this hotel for travellers.
Hotel is clean and rooms were nice. Everything worked well. We were there on Nov 17 to the 20th and the 17th and 18th were noisy with kids running all over the place. Hotel staff put people not in the hockey group on 4th floor to try and isolate them from the hockey team but kids were still running and screaming. This is a PARENT issue though and not a hotel issue.
This hotel offers a great room, extremely friendly staff. They always go above and beyond. You never have to ask they will always ensure that your stay is the best possible. Every time I stay at the hotel the rooms are always clean and I don't have to wait. The cleaning staff always have a smile and are willing to help. The hotel is located perfectly a quick drive to the downtown.
Overall, our experience was excellent. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was great, lots of easy parking and lots of information about Peterborough and surrounding area. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
It was a nice hotel but sections of the hotel were seemed like they were added at different times. Our section of the hotel was cold and our room was cold but then I tried to turn on the heat, it didn't work. I guess it wasn't the right time of year to turn on the heat. (late October - cold and rainy weekend)
Best Western Plus, Otonabee Inn: We booked a suite with kitchen, but upon arriving we found it was on a second floor with no elevator, bad legs made this undoable. We were given a room near an elevator with a hot tub, (no we did not use it) for the same money. We looked at the free breakfast and decided we could do much better on our own. No need to check if it was more for less, it was just fine after a day of driving.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in the area visiting friends and doing a bit of sightseeing. The staff was great at check in and check out, room was quiet and comfortable and breakfast was plentiful with a variety of items to choose from. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. WiFi worked great and had no issues. Restaurants within a short drive or an adventurous stroll. We would definitely stay here again when back in the area.
I spend a lot of time at this hotel for work and it would be very difficult to find an establishment with better service. Every single employee, from the groundskeeper to the front desk employees are friendly and willing to go above and beyond to take care of every need. Every employee greets you and says good morning and I really appreciate the extraordinary service I get every time I'm there.
Overall our stay at was vert satisfactory and we will book all future trips to Peterborough at this motel. The staff was friendly, accommodating and we were pleased with their efficiency when we had to move to another room.
Nice location, nice room, nice staff but the Breakfast Buffet offered was putting salt on the cake instead of icing. The size of the area for dinning and the buffet is at most 1/4 the size required to seriously offer this. Do it right, or don't do it at all. I felt sory for the staff in this situation.
Everything was wonderful!! The only exception was the size of the breakfast room and lack of "Continental" breakfast selection. The room needs to be able to accommodate larger functions and with a better flow. The coffee and juices area should be separate from that of the people waiting for their toast or trying to get their eggs. It was horrible to stand in line for 20 minutes just to get a coffee or to have my toast stay warm while waiting in line to get my eggs. Other than that the setting is lovely - certainly recommended for weddings. The rooms are lovely and service is fantastic.
Stayed for a family wedding. The room was clean, staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was swamped, but the hotel was full so that is understandable. The workers were keeping everything topped up. Did not get a chance to use the pool or workout room but the both looked very nice from what I saw. And kudos to Bryan at the front desk for being super helpful!
Very comfortable, beautiful view of the river. We stayed on the main level and had a really nice balcony. The glasses were glass and not paper with all the toiletries you needed. The bed was great and the room was comfortable and clean.
Stayed one night while in town on business. Location is good. While on a major road, it was fairly quiet for sleeping. Facility is a bit dated but clean. Breakfast was included. Very friendly front desk staff. Lots of parking. I would stay again.
I would highly recommend this hotel. Quiet location, no road noise, excellent bed, great helpful staff, and hot breakfast included...very good value for the price!.if I'm ever back in Peterborough .I'll be back!
Stayed with my young family for one night on the way home from a conference. The beds were small but comfy, the room was dated, but spacious and clean. The hotel is complicated enough that they actually hand out a map for the hotel and parking lot at check in. Breakfast was great and there were lots of options to choose from. The pool area was clean and warm, with tables and chairs for the spectators, however we had to walk through the parking lot to get to the pool from the room we were staying in, which is not an easy feet with two toddlers. I would stay there again...but wouldn't plan a trip to spend the weekend there.
On the road for 2 weeks and came back It was one of my top hotels picks for this area of Ontario. Quite the professional front desk with speed of efficiency while maintaining a friendly attitude. The river view rooms are nice but did enjoy the larger upgraded suite Room 332 as a Diamond member. Excellent & popular full breakfast buffet. Lovely pool and updated impressive large gym. Highly recommend this hotel and look forward to the next visit.
Great check in, very helpful. Room and property were very clean. Nearby dining recommendations by front desk were excellent. The lobby area is nice. Good parking. From what we saw, this would be the best accommodation in Peterborough.
I would always stay at this hotel whenever I visit canada. I love the people and the location of this best western. The breakfast is always good, I enjoy the service that is provided, and the rooms are the best.
There isn't a huge variety of hotels in Peterborough and having tried different ones over the years we find we really enjoy the Best Western. The last time we stayed we were on an upper floor and had a very spacious balcony overlooking the river which was great for sitting out. This time we were on the ground floor with a view of the river again and a covered patio. It is lovely to watch the river go by and the ducks waddling along the banks. There are picnic tables set up if you would like to eat outside. The rooms are fairly basic and the breakfast buffet is plentiful with a good variety of food. There is a decent indoor pool and hot-tub. Very short walking distance to some good restaurants. I am not generally a lover of buffets but the nearby Carousel restaurant provides plenty of variety and good quality with an option to order from the menu as well. I am sure we will be staying here again in future visits.
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. the facilities and an oasis in the city. Lovely quiet spot with well maintained grounds overlooking a quiet river. Enjoyed the peace and tranquility while reading on the deck.
Was there overnight for a business meeting in one of their conference rooms. Room was clean and spacious. Hotel is well maintained in every area. Nice pool and gym facilities. Excellent catered food. Free breakfast with great selection. Beautiful location on the Otonabee River. Friendly staff.
We had a family wedding to attend near Peterborough and this was the hotel the wedding party chose for their out of town guests. All the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful, right from the original phone call to book multiple rooms, to the front desk staff with their warm welcome. The rooms were all clean and comfortable, the bathrooms nice and the beds comfortable. The included breakfast was good with different choices. I would stay here again if I needed a room in Peterborough.
Have stayed at BW Otonabee several times. Hotel is clean, has great staff and facilities and they serve a very good breakfast in the morning. Rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. Will stay here each time I visit Peterborough. Very picturesque along the river.
Our stay was surprisingly better than I think any of us anticipated. We stayed during Labor Day weekend so it appeared the hotel was pretty full, but we didn't hear any noise from the hallway or other doors slamming. The room was very clean and comfortable. I wouldn't call the décor dated, but very regal. We had royal red carpet with a diamond pattern and golden striped wallcovering – made me feel like I was entering an executive boardroom verses a relaxing oasis. Finishes aside, it was a very comfy stay. Breakfast was pretty typical, although they offer gluten free bread options which was very thoughtful.
Sometimes when you end your stay you recognize that the property got things pretty right. This property does that for me The room was of a good size, well furnished, with a microwave (on request) and a fridge. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows soft. The climate control did not require adjustment - it was just right. We travel to North America from Australia, so we have two bags larger than carry-on size. Alone among the 16 hotels we used on this trip, this one provided two luggage stands - as you need for two bags. The bathroom had a good wide shelf surrounding the basin, and we did not have to be contortionists to tear off the toilet paper. The breakfast had a good variety (including Canadian ham) and offered real crockery and cutlery, not paper and plastic. The price was fair, and the service attentive. About the only thing we missed was a freezer shelf in the fridge (we travel with an ice box); front desk staff were very willing to put our blocks in their freezer.
On arriving we were greeted by a gentleman at the front counter who went out of his way to help us check in and his pleasant demeanor and friendly nature went above the usual for front counter staff. The free breakfast is decent, better than expected with a variety of cold and hot dishes, all cooked from scratch in the very clean kitchen visible to the side. The grounds are incredible, the river runs close to the hotel and boats journey along. The lot is well treed and has lots of chairs and tables and shelters to enjoy the nature. Ask for a second story room facing the river for a beautiful view, but there is no elevator so if you have mobility issues take the ground floor.
The hotel is easy to find as it is located off one of the major roads. Check in and check out worked well. There is good parking and the wifi was very dependable. There is a wonderful pool and the water is even warm. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast and the breakfast eating area were great. There was plenty of food and a good variety. The one issue was the air conditioner/ heater noise in the room. Every time it came on it woke me up as it was very loud.
We stayed here because our function was in this area.Nice large property and clean looking. This is not a true Plus property because they have no restaurant or bar and you have to go out to get anything. However the price reflects this.We have stayed in many plus property's unsure how they get away with this one.Good breakfast buffet in the morning the deal breaker. May or may not return we want more in our stays.Inside Pool looked clean and large and gym area also.
Thoroughly enjoyed our one-day stay - would have liked to stay longer. The room was great - liked the view of the river and the grounds. This would be a great place for families or for spare time to enjoy the area
Very nice hotel, in a nice spot next to the river. Large room with air-conditioning, a big telly & big bed. We got one with a spa bath too, which was good. We turned up late (9 at night) but were met by a very pleasant chap behind the desk, who checked us in & pointed us in the direction of our room, and the pub down the road (see next review). Breakfast was very nice, with enough choice of cooked food & cereals/yogurts etc. All-in-all I was very happy with our stay, and I would recommend this hotel.
8 months in advance, I reserved a higher priced room with 2 queen beds and requested a river view and balcony. No one contacted me to say that only rooms with 2 double beds had balconies (I would have gladly switched). The room's view was a parking lot and another building. Still, the room was comfortable and clean. The hot tub jets were not functioning fully. Breakfast was fine with hot & cold items, the same both days. Overall a nice hotel, nice staff but I feel I overpaid for the room and partially working hot tub.
Booking a room for my mother-in-law and me for the night before a hospital visit was an excellent choice. The staff were caring, helpful and went over and above in their service for my mother-in-law's needs. I have already been recommending this hotel due to the service we received and the manner in which we were treated. Thank you so much. If I could pick a higher level than "excellent" I would!!!
In town for 2 days with grandkids on a geocaching adventure so really only needed a place to lay our heads. Checked in to find out grandpa had booked us for next week but they were more than happy to accommodate us and luckily they had rooms. Very clean and comfortable beds. Their breakfast included had a wide selection which made it good for the grandkids. Would definitely stay here again!
We stayed here with two of our grandchildren (both 8 years old) and had a lovely room in the newer part of the hotel. The bathroom was gorgeous and spacious as was the room with 2 queen beds. My husband and grandchildren enjoyed the pool and there were certainly enough options at breakfast to please everyone. If we are ever in Peterborough again we will certainly book at the Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn.
We would definitely stay again. Nice location as we had a wedding next door at the Navy Club. The Breakfast was also included and everything you would like. Both hot and cold. It was so nice to sit and watch the river with the ducks swimming by. Very peaceful.
Have enjoyed my stay, clean quiet room overlooking river. Great breakfast choices. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Convenient location. In room coffee makers, fridge. Look forward to returning!
This is the best hotel anyone could ever stay at. The Staff are caring and extremely friendly, it is clean well located close to shopping, Fishing, Restaurants Boating and swimming. I recommend it highly.
Very well maintained property! Fresh and generous breakfast inclusive. Some river view rooms available. Plenty of free parking. Wifi works well and easily accessed. No in house restaurant but many are a few minutes away in Peterborough...
Just returned from a weekend in Peterborough attending a wedding. We had the pleasure of staying at the Best western for two nights. Can say enough about this hotel. Spot less rooms and bathrooms. Great hot and cold all you can eat breakfast. The property has the river running behind and beside the property . Staff was so helpful and accommodating .
If you are in Peterborough, Ontario, the best place to stay is at The Best Western Otonabee Inn! We have stayed there every time we visit family in Peterborough. Nicely appointed rooms with fast internet. They have a lovely pool and hot tub plus a workout room. Breakfast is included with many excellent choices of food available including gluten and dairy free items.. Put this hotel on your list for your next trip to the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario.
Lovely property, staff very friendly, room spotless, we had a balcony which looked out to the river with a marvelous view. Breakfast was very good both mornings sausage, eggs etc. Pool very nice. overall a really nice stay, would go back again for sure, and only a 25 min walk into town centre.
I travel frequently and always stay at this hotel when in the Peterborough area. It is always clean and welcoming. The setting is beautiful and on nice summer days it is a bonus to sit outside on the breakfast patio. This hotel is just off the 115 and close to various places to dine. I highly recommend this Best Western
Don't overlook this hotel. I have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed the friendly warm feeling and welcome from the staff. The property is always well cared for and the rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. A nice breakfast to get the day started as well.
Overall a good experience with a nice, convenient included breakfast. My only concern is that the queen size bed seemed smaller than a standard queen, but the mattress was comfortable. The location was good.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends. From the friendly speedy check-in to the comfortable extensive room options (we suggest the riverview rooms 2nd floor with balcony opening to riverside) to the great amenities (free breakfast/wi-fi/parking, indoor pool & hot-tub), you won't be disappointed! Make sure you manage to experience the many offered amenities --otherwise this might seem like an expensive option for just an overnight bedroom.
Lovely hotel and I just wish I had more time to enjoy it. Unfortunately this was a quick stop. Regardless the frying desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was excellent. My on my comment is I wished breakfast started earlier than 7. I had to miss it.
Took our grandson as well as our son, daughter in law and their son to this motel to go tubing . we spent an enjoyable night with swimming in the pool and an amazing breakfast before check-out . I highly recommend anybody visiting Peterborough to spend a night here .this place is great and relaxing.
We had driven by the inn previously and knew it's location. After reading the reviews we decided to book a riverside room. We were very pleased from the friendly staff, to our room overlooking the river with its own deck. The inn was good value for the money. We dont use the excersize room or the pool or hot tub but they looked fine to us.we didn't have breakfast only juice and coffee but the rest of the offerings looked just fine to us.we would recommend this Best Western to anyone and we will vist again.
We were pleased the accommodations. The grounds were beautiful. Workout Room, Pool, free Wifi and Full Breakfast.Even got to feed the extremely friendly ducks during our walks. Couldn't ask for anything more. We would definitely stay there again. Unfortunately the Hot tub was down during our stay and we did have a noisy neighbour on our floor. over all though we were pleased with the stay.
We stayed at this location on our way to tour Trent university, so I was travelling with my two teens. The property was lovely, right on a river. It was near enough to the university and the down town, easy to find off the highway. I was midnight when we arrived, but we were still greeting with a friendly smile and jokes. The pool is nice, the breakfast was great and our first floor room even had a little back deck. The beds were extra comfy.;
This is an awesome location for a hotel, right by the Otonabee river. Lovely views from the riverfront rooms and walk out to deck with picnic facilities nearby. Beds and pillows were very comfy, rooms were quiet, shower had excellent pressure, and toiletries provided were very good quality. Breakfast had great variety, including scrambled eggs, sausages, pastries, cold and hot cereals (including gluten free) and juices and coffee/tea. All in all an excellent stay and highly recommended.
The Best Western Plus Otanabee Inn is located within a few km's of everything Peterborough has to offer, including the downtown area, the Lift Lock and beach areas. The hotel sports an indoor swimming pool, exercise room and many rooms have balconies. Get a riverside room for a spectacular view of the river and elegant gazebos. The breakfast provided has selections for every appetite. The staff were great. Unfortunately we had a family emergency and had to cut our stay short by a night. They were terrific at accommodating this circumstance. Definitely check it out!
We stayed overnight July 17th. The hotel was a delightful find for us. We had a large king room with a fireplace, overlooking the grounds and canal behind the hotel. The building is older, with slightly uneven creaky floors. That said, the room was absolutely quiet and very welcoming. Bath was acceptable, although the shower was somewhat wimpy. The bed was quite comfortable and inviting. Front desk staff were great, from helping me select a room when I phoned for a reservation, to advice on dining establishments nearby (of which there are several). Front desk staff can make one's stay more pleasant, and these folks did so. Hot breakfast was typical of what one finds in most hotels these days. It was hot, plentiful, and well presented. Would have liked some cut fruit, but otherwise fine.
My husband and I just visited this hotel and loved it. We stayed in a ground floor room with a balcony facing the river and it was amazing! We loved to sit outside at night and just relax. The hotel pool was really well kept and inviting. The breakfast each morning was really good. They had all of the usual breakfast staples (bagels, toast, pastry, cereal, eggs, fruit, etc.) The staff at the hotel were super nice and very willing to help with whatever you needed. We would love to stay there again sometime soon.
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for family wedding. Beds were comfy, large room, heated pool and hot tub. Coffee maker in room and also had fridge and microwave which was great. AC worked good. Restaurants, tim hortons, lift lock very close. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Weekend get away with friends. Comfortable hotel that offered a good hot breakfast and wonderful outdoor landscape experience by the river. Very friendly service. Bed was a bit on the soft side as we prefer firm but did not disturb sleep
We were very impressed with this Best Western Hotel in Peterborough (Otonabee Inn). The service was excellent The location was central. Is is a very well-kept, clean hotel with alll the amenities one could wish for when travelling.
We have stayed here twice now, and this hotel has now become our 'go-to' place to stay in Peterborough. Very friendly, and helpful staff, and the hotel is very clean and quiet. The free breakfast is also really good!
I was pleased to find a private balcony and chairs off my room overlooking the river. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The washroom area was small and would benefit from updating. Overall, a lovely stay.
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and always find it clean , comfortable. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The breakfasts are well done. Hotel was full but they still found us a room for the second night. We will stay there again
we visit our daughter and son-in-law a few times a year and this has been the best hotel in Peterborough. We stayed at two others because price was better but BW has a better breakfast and the corridors and adjacent rooms are much quieter. This makes up for the cost.
Good location. Suite large, clean & comfortable. Lots of parking. Full, hot breakfast very good and lots of it. Staff helpful and pleasant. Restaurants, tim hortons, and pubs close by. Would recommend.
Great place to stay. Amazing staff and the breakfast is very good with outdoor seating. The view of the river makes you feel like you are at the cottage. The grounds are always groomed with friendly ducks to greet you.
is what my kids call this place. It's good value for money, the amenities are good and it is in a wonderful location by the river and walking distance to some good restaurants. But for my kids it was all about the pool. Breakfast was very good for it being complimentary.
This hotel is located in a very nice setting, with a river located at the back, my family rented a canoe from Beaver mead camp ground and we could pull the canoe right up to the hotel, that was very nice. I will stay at this hotel again, the complementary breakfast very good for the value. With a nice size pool and patio. Clean rooms large screen tv very friendly staff.*****
We chose a room on first floor with river view with a deck for sitting outside which was so nice and scenic. Toilets need to be updated to chair height to accommodate seniors like ourselves. Bed was so comfortable.
We stayed for one night on our way to Ottawa. We were given a lovely room on the river side (2nd floor). It was clean, quiet and well appointed. The breakfast room was also on the riverside of the hotel and we were able to dine out on the deck which was an added bonus. China plates, cups, etc. were used which we appreciated. The breakfast fare was standard but well presented. The check in and check out staff were friendly and efficient. The only negative comment I can leave is that the small fridge in the room was noisy. I unplugged it at bedtime and plugged it back in in the morning. Good value for the price.
Hotel is nicely tucked away from things but walking distance to local restaurants. The hotel is a little segregated inside my guess is because of previous additions added on. The rooms are clean, pool area was nice, and the staff was AMAZING!!! They were police and helpful and seemed to really have our best interests at heart.
The hotel & grounds were clean, our room was clean and comfortable, our beds were firm and had a selection of pillows, our bathroom was clean and sanitary, the inclusive breakfast was hot and tasty, the internet was free and functional. We've stayed in Best Western Ontonabee, Peterborough 3 times and look forward to going back. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient.
Friendly and personable staff; clean and comfortable rooms; really good breakfast in a clean and bright room. Fairly large pool for an indoor hotel pool. Lovely riverside scenery and gardens. Bring your fishing rod! :)
Had a great experience. Rooms were clean and well thought out. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They offered us amenities that I was unaware of. We highly recommend this hotel and will return.
Two great nights sleep. Loved being near the river at the back. Felt very safe as a single elderly guest. Easy access to Peterborough and amenities. Only recommendation would be a coffee station at check in
My go to place to stay in Peterborough. The rooms are large, some look out onto the river/creek that runs behind where there is a gazebo and benches to sit and relax. Standard breakfast of eggs, sausages, yogurt etc. Indoor pool and outdoor patio if weather is cooperating.
Quiet peaceful night after trike ride (on the 401). Pleasant relaxing evening hours spent near the Otonabee River. Attention to us as bikers. Close to excellent eating establishments. Clean well cared for facilities. Ready to hit the road back home the next morning.
I travel frequently to Peterborough on business, my company actually has a deal with a different hotel in town...but I don't like it so I always book late in the hopes that it's sold out so I can stay at the Best Western instead! Considering that Peterborough isn't that small a town, the choice of hotels in the area is severely lacking. Unless there are some hidden gems that I have yet to find, the Best Western Plus is by far the best choice. This hotel is a bit tired looking- but it is always spotlessly clean and the beds are comfortable. The grounds are lovely, the service is always excellent.
I stayed here for one night and it was very good. Would stay here again. The room was clean, quiet and had everything I needed except fragrance-free linens. I brought this up with the gentleman at the checkout and on the survey I was sent. The food was good, staff was superb. Fragrance-free seems to be the norm for most in the hotel industry today because of people's allergies/sensitivities so I am surprised a chain this large has not followed suit.
The best place in Peterborough. I've stayed in all the hotels, this is head and shoulders above the rest. The hotel has a very nice pool and hot tub. Both are well maintained and always in working order. The breakfast is typical, but a nice added bonus. The decor is neutral, and regularly updated with small touches like throw pillows and bed spreads. I have stayed at this hotel 4-6 times per year for almost 15 years.
The hotel is easy to find, very pretty (located right on the river), lots of easy free parking, clean modern rooms, helpful staff, great breakfast included in price. We went with family (4 adult couples) and had a wonderful time and didn't have to pay a fortune We would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Peterborough.
Our room was ready when we arrived at 3pm. The front desk was courteous and quick. The room was very clean and came with a large tv and comfortable beds. The breakfast was good, especially the surprising scrambled eggs. The breakfast area has a small patio that overlooks green grounds and the river. There is a nice gazebo to relax by the river. We will definitely return!
The hotel is set in a very quiet part of Peterborough and along side a river. The swimming Pool and Hot Tub were both very clean and this Best Western actually has proper changing rooms. The hotel rooms are bright and well decorated and even come with microwaves and fridges. The staff were very pleasant.
Jeremy and Nicole treated us very well, offered extra perks for being Diamond level members. They gave us great parking for our bikes to keep them safe from the storm. This made our stay a very pleasant experience, thank you.
I have been staying there for years. Very friendly staff that are always helpful . Never any problems . Breakfast is very good. They have a pool and fitness center that I have never used. Good value .
I was very disappointed with our experience with the pool. I'm not sure of the arrangement Best Western has with the community, but each time we went swimming (morning, afternoon and evening), the pool was occupied by elderly members of the community. We were there with children, and they were extremely rude, un-inviting, and made the experience very uncomfortable for both of our families staying there. We had reservations at another neighbouring hotel for our stay, and changed our reservations last minute simply because our children wanted to use the pool, and the pool at the Holiday Inn was closed for renovations. We were so disappointed that we could not enjoy the pool, and were made to feel very unwelcomed.
We checked in at 9:30, My wife, Myself and our children. We did this to get some sleep as we had a 6 am wake up for a Dance competition in the morning. Directly across from us and to the sides were rooms reserved for a bachelorette party. The were loud from 12-4:30, Staff asked them to be quiet twice and that lasted all of 5 minutes. We called around to other hotels to find something else, however the town was booked up 05/27/2017. In all, we slept 2 hours in total and ended up with a sick daughter. The hotel took $20 off the bill which was a joke and said "well you should have called me" I told the rep we called twice. We travel lots for dance comps, personal and business and this is by far the worst experience we've had with a Hotel chain.
Very clean, friendly staff. Good breakfast. Hotel backs on to a River, nice location wise. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Although only stayed a night, I would definitely come back. I Recommend this hotel.
The Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn is the place to stay in Peterborough. The grounds are beautiful, 3 gazeboos and benches in the back a long the river. It also has a dock and boat ramp. We could see plenty of fish in the river. The room was spacious and clean. We had one of the honeymoon suites, nice comfortable king size bed, fireplace and jacuzzi. Also a sitting area with pull out couch, chair and flat screen tv. Fridge, microwave and coffee are also included. There is also a balcony, with two deck chairs over looking the river. The stay also comes with a full breakfast, it has something for everyone. A nice size pool, hot tub and gym are among some of the other features. The Inn is just off one of the main roads but secluded enough that it is quiet and peaceful. Minutes away from all the local attractions. Extremely satisfied with our stay. Would certainly stay here again.
Stayed one great relaxing night at the Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn. Awesome stay... We booked a Queen room with a view of the Otonabee river. The room was located in the older motel style rooms but kept nicely although slightly dated, still a great sleep and nice view. Front desk could have been more attentive and at least acknowledge us while waiting to check-in. A "how are you" and a "smile" are never forgotten and go a long way. We would definitely stay here again hands down.
Loved the little porch that went onto the river beautiful. Liked the room layout. Breakfast was nice and quick easy to get to and lots of hot food. Pool clean and the kids loved it great hours of operation.
Perfect place to stop midway between Hamilton and home. Easy access and clean. Standard type of room and breakfast is included. Breakfast room has nice view on the river. Peterborough is a surprisingly interesting small town.
Stayed mid week on business for one night. Clean and comfortable, very quiet setting lead to a good night's sleep. Breakfast included but was running late so had to skip it. Good location, reasonable price given time of year.
Located in east end on banks of Otonabee River, this hotel has been in operation for a very long time. Stayed there regularly in the early 80's when a 2 story property. That part has been nicely improved and a 4 story addition built. New building is well appointed and laid, has all the usual amenities, pool, fitness centre etc. Staff very helpful. Will be returning late summer and this will be on the radar.
We visited this hotel last weekend and were very impressed. Had a second floor balcony view of the river which was breath-taking. Water was a little high this time of year which only added to the view! Canada geese and their goslings added to the beauty! Room was spacious and very clean. Towels were soft and luxurious and sheets as well. No shortage of pillows as each bed had six! Really appreciated the hot buffet breakfast (included in the cost) which consisted of eggs, sausage, pancakes, toast varieties as well as fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, pastries and plenty of coffee. The breakfast room also looked over the river with the option of enjoying your breakfast outdoors on a patio. Indoor pool was clean and water was warm. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The only comment I would make was regarding the wheelchair accessibility ... only the newer part of the hotel is accessible for wheelchairs...we had visitors join us but they could not access our section of the hotel. The visit ended up in the lobby of the hotel which was OK but unexpected and not as private. (To be fair, we had not inquired when we booked our reservation). All in all, this was a great deal for the cost of the room. I would definitely recommend and look forward to future visits.
Clean, comfortable rooms in a great location. Staff is always courteous, helpful, and open to conversations. Enjoy the pool area and hot tub (hot tub is always hot and not lukewarm). Wifi is free and fast. Breakfast is delicious with good choices. The rooms on the riverside are picturesque!
Booked this hotel again and the staff and facility still are in our top list of places to stay in peterborough.the staff is nothing short of amazing.thank to them our stay was pleasant and restful highly recommend and the complimentary breakfast is great
Stay at best western in Peterborough great hotel and very clean and very nice staff and have a great pool and very helpful staff for anything you need I would tell everyone to stay at the best western
We stay at this hotel every other year for a conference and are always very satisfied with everything. The buffet we had on Saturday night was amazing. Staff are always so helpful and seem to be genuinely happy in their jobs. A fantastic place to stay
This hotel was clean, room had fridge and microwave, very comfy bed, and helpful and pleasant staff at arrival! There is a pool (which we didn't use but seemed clean and inviting) and it was great that breakfast was included, as well as coffee in the room.
We travel for leisure, about a dozen stays or more at Best Westerns, between southern Ontario and Florida. The Otonabee Inn is one of, if not the best motels that we've attended. Excellent facilities, quiet rooms, large parking lot, river view, professional staff and great value for cost.
The staff make this a great place to stay. From check in to check out and especially in the breakfast room the staff go out of their way to make your stay a good one. My room was in the older section and not in the main tower. This gave me a good view of the river, however, the decor is quite dated and the room had a musty smell. Other then that it was fine. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet.
Lovely rooms and view of river. Staff were friendly and courteous. Building structure not optimal for people who struggle with walking. Logistics awkward for breakfast and main building but otherwise great. Would stay again!
I had one free personal day during an 8 day conference in Toronto. I visited the Peterborough area to see my childhood home, to reconnect with dear friends and enjoy quiet contemplative space. The Otonabee Inn was the perfect place to stay.
Bad service Rude, at check-in. Didn't try to help. Got my reservation information wrong and was not helpful At trying to understand. I was dissapointed at the experience and the lack of interpersonal skills.
Very nice Hotel , well situated close to everything in Peterborough. The staff was courteous at the reception. The room was very clean and stocked with everything required. Also had a balcony with a great view of the river. thank you for the nice stay...
Nice central hotel. Very clean with friendly staff. Bring your kayak and drop it in the river around the back of the hotel for a lovely day out. There is a lovely indoor pool as well if you prefer your water sports indoors. Papa Johns Pizza one block away makes for a yummy late supper as well.
-If you are staying in a certain part of the hotel, you need to leave the building and cross a driveway. Tip: bring shoes, a cover-up (especially in winter) and look both ways before crossing the road. Room key didn't seem needed as all doors were unlocked. -The rooms have a microwave, very convenient -The breakfast options, while good are poorly laid out and causes confusion. People seem to run into each other with their hands full. Tip: Make more than one trip (e.g. get your coffee and toast on second run) -The pool is highly chlorinated and very loud and echo-y. TIP: if you have a child with sensory processing issues try to go when it's quiet.
I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are nice and cozy with a beautiful view on the river. The staff are really pleasant, friendly and courteous. Overall, everything was absolutely top notch and I highly recommend the Best Western Plus Otonabee Inn.
Nice hotel, nice breakfast, no onsite restaurant but some in walking distance. No complaints. Looks like a nice pool but didn't,t use it. Close to Trent university without going through main downtown strip
clean and quiet location with proximity to downtown, great walking trails to be reached on foot from hotel, very helpful staff to provide information about what's going on near the hotel, if you travel in the area I would recommend this hotel
A MUST STAY HOTEL!! 5 STARS for cleanliness 5 STARS for convenient location 5 STARS for amenities 5 STARS for comfort 5 STARS for friendly & helpful staff Whether staying for business or pleasure I suggest you try "Berc's Steakhouse" a few doors down from this hotel. You won't regret it!
We had the Jacuzzi king suite. The room was great but had one small flaw it took about 30 minutes to fill the jacuzzi up. They have a low flow aeration tap on the tub which is just slow. the breakfast was not great either could deffianlty use some help
We stayed over night only one night, was very clean room. Beautiful view overlooking the water. The overall appearance of the outside of the hotel is very attractive. Gardens well kept. Saw staff outside cleaning up around parking lot. Breakfast staff very friendly and area well stocked and clean.
Friendly staff - professional and accommodating. Breakfast has a lot of different options, including hot eggs and sausages - which is better than other comparable places in town. 4th floor rooms are very nicely appointed - actual glassware and flat-screen TV's - marble counter tops and comfy beds. Very good rate. Wireless is very fast. The hotel is a little out of the way, maybe 5-10 minutes from downtown area - but it's quiet, very safe for cars in the parking lot, and still a short walk to restaurants and a pub. Pretty river runs through the back yard - many rooms have a nice view. I've stayed here many times, never had a complaint. I even like the fitness centre if it's not too busy. Don't use the pool or hot tub - but they look pretty good.
Stayed there for a quick overnight, very clean room, helpful staff. Pretty good free breakfast included. Located about 10 minutes by car to downtown area, decent location. Very quiet hotel, didn't use the pool or hot tub, but it looked good.
A very clean and comfortable hotel. Spacious and very well kept grounds. Friendly staff. Excellent amenities - pool, fitness rom, wifi etc. Complimentary breakfast. A good variety of restaurants near by within walking distance.
Great sound proof walls (Hockey Tournament going on) lots of kids and people, but never knew they were there. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfasts. Luxgerous and comfortable beds. Beautiful grounds. Plenty of parking and ease to get into building. Allows service animals. Close enough to parts of town, that walking time was easy to attain restaurants close to.. This Inn has it all, hands down. Thanks for the stay.
If we are commuting across Canada, we often plan to stay at this Best Western, a good stopover from Ottawa to Toronto and points west. Again, this place is excellent. So good we decided to stay an extra day for the rest you feel in this nature setting. Watch out for the breakfast is good but can be crowded on week-ends and the access from much of the hotel requires going outside and in again. Wear your scarf and mittens if a cold wind bothers you!
I stayed at this Best Western this past summer, I loved that it was a clean and quiet hotel. Great staff, very friendly & accommodating. Looked a little outdated but was told that they were in the process of a renovation. I would definitely stay here again & recommend it.
My expectations were low as I was simply looking for a cheap hotel for a Wednesday night. I was pleasantly surprised to find excellent service, clean rooms, complementary breakfast, and a hot tub and pool! The bed was not the most comfortable.
I have been to a few Best Western Hotels and this one is definitely a great place to stay. Clean, friendly and helpful. Easy to find in Peterborough, where I was a tourist My stay was great! My room was overlooking the beautiful river, with a balcony in the fall. It had gorgeous views and color.
It is reasonably priced (senior rates) and includes an decent breakfast menu. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Room amenities are of the highest quality. Another excellent stay at a Best western hotel. The hotel grounds are right on the river and try to get a room facing the river and picnic grounds. These rooms also have a balcony. Highly recommended. (Very confusing hotel layout is the only negative I have.)
This Family owned (for over 40 years) gem is in a wonderful location with grass and a gazebo at the back along the river. It was so relaxing to spend time enjoying nature. You can still hear the traffic going by but the ducks and squirrels are a wonderful distraction. The room was spotless. The bed was a little soft for my liking but still very comfortable. There was a microwave, single cup coffee maker and a small fridge in the room along with a flat screen TV with cable. I did not try the breakfast but went to a Diner next door. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient and the cleaning staff helped me with the door lock without me having to ask. This hotel is a little more expensive than the Comfort Inn I tried on my previous trip to Peterborough but well worth the price. I would definitely stay here on my next trip.
driven by too many times .....never stopped in always went to choice hotels .... beautiful property very clean and well maintained ... rooms excellent ,....clean, efficent, comfortable nice pool and hot tub area service - excellent ,,...friendly, warm ....welcoming .... will be our hotel next trip for sure ...
Stayed for 2 nights for sister's wedding. The room was impeccably clean, staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast selection was great. The only problem we had was Sunday morning breakfast was so busy there were no tables in the breakfast room. However one of the staff pointed us to a table with comfy chairs in the foyer and we enjoyed our breakfast there.
The room was exceptional. Great place to stay. Breakfast was included. Couldn't ask for anything better. In Peterborough for a wedding which was approximately ten minutes from hotel. Stayed at this hotel before.
We just stayed here Sept 16-19th and we were very happy with our stay. We were here for a hockey tournament and although our whole team was not staying here, there were plenty of other teams and there was also a wedding party staying so we were fully prepared to not get much sleep. But we were very happy to find that once we closed the door to our room it was virtually sound proof! Hotel is clean and all the staff from the front desk, to the cleaning crew, to the breakfast crew were all so, so friendly. Breakfast was one of the best we have experienced at any of the "breakfast included" hotels. Usually if you show up 15 mins before cut off time almost everything is gone with no offer to replenish the food but not here, they provided fresh top ups right up until closing time so kudos to them for that! If you're heading to Peterborough stay here. I promise you won't be disappointed.
We had a great stay large room with kitchen facing river. The hot bkfst was nice . The room had a beautiful bathroom with walk in shower and was very clean and well decorated. We will return to this Hotel
Staff are helpful and very friendly. Our room looked out on the river which was lovely. The beds were comfortable and clean. However, when we first entered the room, there was a very strong odour of urine...like a toilet that has not been flushed in some time and the bathroom was not clean around the toilet. We cleaned up the bathroom. The continental breakfast is included in the cost of the room. This is a nice inclusion but choices were very limited. I had hoped at this time of year that there might be some fresh fruit but there was not. We have stayed here before with no complaints and I would stay again but was just a bit disappointed this visit.
loved the location, picturesque view and value of this property,, would recommend it to anyone as a getaway location, with the river behind the hotel, breakfast to fill your belly and sleep thats right for everyone,,
We went to a lovely retirement reception (nice rom, nice food) and stayed over. The room was spotless and cozy, well laid out, with a private deck for two overlooking the river and gazebos and benches to sit and watch the ducks and kayakers. We'll gladly return if we're in town!
This hotel exceeded our expectations the rooms were very clean, the front desk staff was very nice. We arrived a day ahead of reservation they accommodated in the honeymoon suite the only room left for that night.
Only you can decide if this BW fits the bill for you. It is nicely located, close to the highway. There are restaurants within walking distance. Downtown Peterborough is a short drive away as are the many tourist attractions around town. The hotel, like many Best Western locations, is a bizarre collection of smaller buildings that cause you to run indoors and outdoors several times from one end of the property to the other travelling to your room. It is annoying in the winter or when it is raining. The hotel really is old and is in need of work. On Monday I reported that the handle on our closet door was falling off. The front desk said they would send somebody to screw it back on. On Thursday when we checked out it still wasn't done. Our bathroom (Room 106) had been redone completely. The shower is wonderful. It is huge and big enough to have a built-in seat. But, I am guessing that instead of gutting and removing the problem areas in the old bathroom, the new decorating and fixtures were simply installed. A strong musty smell and mould smell lingers even though the bathroom is brand new. It still has that musty old cottage aroma that Canadians know well. Many of the rooms have a patio or balcony overlooking a creek behind the hotel. There is a large lawn with a gazebo and lots of friendly ducks. Breakfast is included. The scrambled eggs just pass muster. When you see the sausages you will pass them by. Everybody else does. I have no idea what they do with three pounds of leftover sausages every day.
We were in Peterborough for a wedding and stayed here for two nights. The building is older but the rooms are clean and comfortable. There is an indoor pool and a small gym with limited equipment. There are trails close by for runners and cyclists. Our side of the building has porches with a view of the creek that runs behind the property. It's a very peaceful spot. Buffet breakfast was included with the room, there was enough to choose from. Front desk and all staff were polite and very helpful with information about the surrounding area. If in Peterborough again I would have no problem staying here again.
Hotel and rooms are old and not modern. But staff service is OK, site is well located and price is being lower and related to the average quality of this hotel. Regarding a lower price, overall value is staying very good. Need to be refurbished very soon as 2016 expectations.
Nice room. Nice and clean hotel with friendly staff. Great bed. First time at a great western. Not sure what to expect. The breakfast room could be so much more. But the staff are nice. Low frequency background noise and a fridge caused me some annoyance but no worse than many uk hotels.
We stayed two days and the stay was great. The front desk was accommodating, room was large and clean. The housekeeping staff was excellent as we asked for a few things and they delivered on the request. This is rare, in my experience. The hotel is close to restaurants and other amenities.
The best hotel stay I have ever had. Rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable Pool and hot tub were very clean, always pool towels available. The staff was amazing. Very knowledgeable and friendly We had the free breakfast every morning for the 4 mornings we were there and each time it was delicious and restocked quickly. I will come back here for sure
We had the pleasure to stay at this establishment recently while attending an event. Very nice room, clean and well appointed. Front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Nice location set off the road and therefore quiet. Quite a good breakfast, a step above the usual fare. Would certainly go back if next year's event was held there.
This is location and Best Western in Owen Sound Ontario are the 2 nicest Best Westerns that I have stayed at. Not to say that the other ones I have stayed at weren't nice either. But would have to step up to meet the standard that was given to us the 2 locations.
We stayed here over the long weekend in August. We had a "tower" room which was large and well equipped. The hot breakfast in the morning was excellent as well. This hotel is very easy to get to and you can walk from here to downtown quite easily. While we were here the music festival was on and it was about a 20 minute walk to the venue, but well worth it. The pool is clean and bigger than most hotel pools these days, the same can be said for the exercise room. Ask for a room on the creek and you won't be disappointed. The grounds are lovely and I can see why people would have their weddings here.
This is a typical Best Western Plus hotel We had a nice room (king bed with a jacuzzi), but overall I think we paid a little too much for we got! The reason we chose this hotel (in spite of it being almost $100 more that similar hotels in the area) was that we wanted to have a swimming pool and hot breakfast included! The pool was nice, but the breakfast was not good ... :( I am hoping the hotel management does something about the breakfast. I have given them detail a list of what I didnt like about the breakfast! The pool was nice and good size! The front desk staff are nice, welcoming and make you feel good to be there! So overall, we did have a nice stay!
Stayed here twice on 1 night stays in July. Hotel is clean and good location. Amenities are adequate and meet most needs. Nice hotel overall. It is adequate for couples and families. The free breakfast is enjoyable. Hotel backs onto a river which is peaceful and quaint.
Lovely surroundings, the hotel is on the river and if you have a boat it is very easy to launch from this property. There are many places to explore by boat and car from the hotel. Staff are very friendly and you are always greeted with a smile. The hotel includes a buffet breakfast, has an indoor pool, wifi and very comfy beds!
This hotel had so many accessible features such as all automatic doors and elevators. The accessible room was large and had plenty of room to move the wheelchair around. The bathroom was "somewhat" accessible. It had raised toilet and bars, lowered sink with ability to roll the wheelchair under - however, the shower was not a roll-in. To be fair this was fully explained to me when I booked. It would be suitable for someone who could stand in the shower. We were pleased with the room (the bed was super comfy) and service, but it would be so easy to replace the bottom of the shower with a roll in floor and bench to make it completely accessible to a wheelchair user. Hopefully the management will consider this improvement.
This hotel has nice clean rooms, and the staff are exceptional, especially at check-in. Our room was on the river side, and offered a nice view. It was somewhat crowded, but had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The breakfast buffet had a lot of variety, and real crockery. The food was typical Sysco, almost identical to Holiday Inn's breakfast. The hot tub and pool were nice. Be sure to get your towels at the front desk, they are not available poolside. For the information of older or infirm tourists, the second floor is not accessible by elevator. Overall, this hotel is decent value for money, and was quiet in the evenings.
We had expected a standard room. (1 or 2 beds, fridge, microwave etc.) What we got a was a suite, full kitchenette, 2 rooms, 2 TV's, and more. Our thoughts were: It is to bad this was only an overnight stay as it would have made a great place to stay for a week as we did not have time to use the pool, fitness room etc..
Clean room. Wonderful staff. We booked our room online and got in a little later then we were thinking we would be. They had everything ready and we did not have to wait at all. Breakfast was fantastic I would recommend this Beat Western for sure to anyone..... Business or please. Great stay.
My wife and I stayed her 1night so that we could go to a funeral of a friend and then drive home the next day. The hotel is very nice and the room was very neat and tidy and nicely appointed.,on the ground floor, overlooking a river and small playground. The breakfast was nice as well. as we travel a great deal we are used to staying in motel/hotels, and most seem to be over priced for a short stay . This cost more then it should.
Stayed one night on way to visiting Kawartha's at friends and found it to be a great hotel with friendly staff, great location and really nice grounds on river. One guest even boated in. This nwill be hotel of choice next time in Peterborough area.
During a recent "Adventure" as our daughter calls them, we found ourselves in Peterborough, Ontario. Having decided at the last moment to "Head Out" down the road without reservations anywhere, when we decided to stop in Peterborough area our first action was to open up the "Best Western" App on the i-Pad and check for availability nearby, on discovering a vacancy at the Best Western Otonabee Inn,we immediatly booked for Saturday night. On our arrival, when I went to check in at the front desk I was politely informed that there was no reservation in my name for that evening... after producing our confirmation number we discovered that by accident we had booked the Sept 24 night instead of the Sept 23... The staff were wonderful and helpful, after a few minutes, checking all reservations, they were able to put us into a differnt room for the evening and then pointed us in the direction for a FANTASTIC Dinner Buffet Restaurant right next door... We most certainly will be coming back :) :) :)
We recently stayed at this hotel and had a fabulous time. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the river and we had a great view. The beds were soft and sheets were great quality and cotton-soft. Just floated away to sleep. Room has a fridge (with no freezer) and microwave and a larger flat screen TV. Everything was clean and comfortable. Bathroom has all the amenities and some good quality soaps and shampoos, along with bathtub grab rails. There is a back door to the room that opens to the river. Outside there is a covered space with picnic tables and also each room has a couple of outdoor chairs to enjoy the view. At breakfast the next morning (also included) there was the usual cold cereals, bread and pastries, hot food but amazingly enough they had some gluten-free cold cereal and bread. I am so used to having to bring this for myself that I was amazed. There were a couple of small things to be corrected in the room, but it was promptly taken care of to our complete satisfaction. We highly recommend this property and will be staying there again soon!
The hotel is good, though the breakfast was ordinary. Staff was very friendly and capable. The setting in the curve of the river, with sit-out patio of balcony from the original wing makes the hotel an oasis -- ducks in the evening, boards and kayaks floating by, a picturesque house across the bay but no other buildings to interrupt the view. We used the hot tub and salt water pool, which were small but gave us the relaxation and exercise we needed. Nice to have changing rooms available by the pool with good showers where you could strip and wash thoroughly. Can access pool beside lobby without going into it, though towels are kept at side of lobby desk. Self-serve breakfast was adequate but far from gourmet, with sausages and egg patties of unknown heritage, but the other items seemed fine. The room was spacious, with two double beds, two comfy chairs and a good desk chair, back door onto a semi-private patio. I found the bed a bit high for someone of my height (5'3"), but once I found where the mattress wanted me to sleep I slept well. Easy to get into town for a wide variety of interesting restaurants and main street shopping.
Nothing to complain about ... Only stayed one nite I would be ok returning for another nite !!! It was nice overlooking the river behind the hotel !!! Omg i can not say anymore about the hotel i spent one nite in ...i slept there thats it !!! The room was overall comfy
Would definitely stay here again. The staff were so friendly they really made an impact. Rooms were comfortable and it was very convenient location. A great choice if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Peterborough.
Located along the river, was given a room beside the entrance at the back at ground level so that was not great. The rooms are very basic for a BW Plus, the facility is very dated though location was good. Beds were mediocre, didn't check out the rest of the building.
Easy to get to, yet quiet and serene. Pleasant breakfast room, lovely pool, comfortable beds. In the summer I prefer the rooms overlooking the river; in winter rooms in the front building are more convenient as you don't have to go outside (briefly) to get to the pool and the hot tub. The grounds are very well kept and it's a pleasure to walk along the small river. Customer service is unfailingly excellent. Thank you, Otonabee, for another great stay.
Everyone at the hotel works really hard to ensure that it maintains its excellent reputation. The pool and jacuzzi are amazing. Beautiful 'backyard' along the river, perfect for a stroll or just sitting under the gazebo to enjoy the tranquil view. I can't do enough to praise this hotel, its facilities, and its staff. My teaching colleagues were staying at hotels all over the downtown, and when we compared notes during our course, nothing came close to the whole package that you get at this Best Western Plus. Great breakfast variety and service too.
second day of our 2 night stay we were upgraded from a 2 bed double size bed to a king size bed which really pleased both my Wife and I . Thanks to your Staff for their consideration in helping us with this mix up Wes and Sandra Botham
I have not been to this building, but i lived close to the river and loved it. the river is very relaxing and peterborough is a very beautiful place. thats why i recommend vising this place and staying in the Inn because it is close to the river and other beautiful sites of peterborough
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times and will return again. The breakfast area has large windows open to the Otonabee River and we enjoyed the patio seating this time. Although we did not use the pool and hot tub, our sons enjoyed the hot tub to relax after attending a wedding. The hours of use are reasonable so that you can use it even if you have to be out for part of the evening, as we were. The prices are a little higher than some other hotels in the area, but is worth it to know you have a good place and food to come "home" to. Best breakfast we've ever had in any hotel in our travels recently.
From check-in to check-out, this property surprised us all. Our room backed onto the riverfront and had a nice private patio. The room was spacious and very quiet. The bathtub and toilet was in a separate section from the sink area. That was perfect as it allowed the ladies to do their makeup while someone else used the shower. The water pressure was wonderful and had the hottest water ever encountered out of all our hotel experiences! We really enjoyed our stay and now know why this property is rated #1!!
We stayed here on Canada Day and we were thrilled with our room, it was beautiful and we had a deck overlooking the river, really lovely. We had a King suite , instead of a pullout couch, which I was hoping for we had a chaise lounge, not big enough to sleep on, and they do not offer roll away beds, so left us in a kind of tight spot. Otherwise everything was wonderful, loved the Jacuzzi tub and the breakfast was better than most hotels. I will definitely stay here again! Thanks to Jeremy and his staff , for a super visit!
Just returned from a two night getaway to while visiting friends. The four of us had two lovely queen size beds, tons of pillows and blankets to choose from. Comfortable beds, large enough room for the four of us, very clean and working air conditioner. Breakfast provided, and lots of options avaiable, egg, sausage, pancakes, toast, muffins, cereal, coffee, juice, yogurt, fruit. You shouldn't go hungry, considering what options you would have at home to choose from, and you don't have to cook or clean up, makes this mom happy. Check in and out was quick, the staff are constantly saying hello, or welcome, how is your day, very friendly. The grounds are beautiful, take a walk around and see, well groomed and taken care of. Ample parking. My children used the pool, nice area, and warm, and open til 11 pm which is a nice treat. Easy to find, and close to everything around. We will definately visit again.
Enjoyed a 1 night stay at this hotel during Canada Day long weekend. Made the choice to stay in one of the Riverside rooms and must say that it was a great choice. The room was large, very clean with a great view of the river. Hotel wasn't at capacity but still occupied by a number of guests and found it to be very quiet. Hotel is in a great location, not too far from Restaurants & shopping. Would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
This is a great hotel! I will stay here again next time. The service was good. The beds were comfortable, lots of pillows! It's a great location and close to downtown. My wife and I walked from this location to George Street and the many parks and lock locations. The breakfast was excellent which was included as part of our stay.
I just spent 2 lovely nights at this BW. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. I arrived about 3 hours before the regular check in time expecting not being able to check in but just leave my bag. Well there was no problem at all my room was ready and was sent on my way. It was so quiet, that I actually managed to sleep in and then had a leisurely breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, coffee and juice, all included in the price of my room. With family living in Peterborough I will definitely be staying here again.
When we are visiting Peterborough we make it a point to stay at this Hotel. It is very clean and well kept place. The staff are most helpful and friendly. It is conveniently located to all shopping and fine restaurants.
This was our second stay at the hotel and found it a friendly place to stay. We used the pool area and found it clean and enjoyable. The breakfast was a step up from many continental breakfast at many Canadian hotels, it was clean, great selection of food, no shortage of dishes or cutlery. Very impressed.
We stayed 3 nights. This hotel knows how to look after their guests. They are very friendly and accommodating. The pool is great The outside grounds are well cared for. There are even rooms facing the water. There was a wedding group staying at the hotel and you didn't even know it. The hotel and rooms are very clean. Nice and relaxing.
The staff here is excellent! So friendly & helpful and very tolerant of multiple questions and requests! We had a memorial for a lovely friend who visited there often and to have the hotel embrace our celebration of her life was the icing on the cake. Thank you for helping to make this such a special time for the friends and especially the family. Frances was with us in spirit!
Cannot say enough about this location. We are currently in the family suite, which makes you feel like you are at home. Living room area, fireplace, 2 sofas/pullouts, kitchenette, large bedroom, king bed. Very comfortable and clean. Thank you!
We have nothing but wonderful things to say about this hotel. The room is lovely. The bed very comfortable. The staff is very helpful and kind. The grounds are spectacular. This Best western has been owned and operated by the same family for 44 years. They obviously love doing this and the staff obviously love working there. I highly recommend staying there over any other hotels in the area. And we have stayed at others.
Booked a night here based on previous reviews. Despite our stay being on the evening of Victoria Day we were amazed to have almost the whole hotel to ourselves and never saw another guest. The place is huge and has obviously had wings added over the years. Our room was ground floor with doors to a small patio where we could sit overlooking the river. The grounds were lovely and it was a beautiful and peaceful location. Perhaps a little tired in places our room smelt slightly smokey but was clean and comfortable. Had hoped to eat at a steak restaurant within easy walking distance but when we got there it and all the other restaurants were closed! Ended up having to drive into Rochester to find somewhere open on the holiday Monday evening. Excellent breakfast in the morning with outside seating options, one of the best breakfasts we had in hotels on our trip. Staff helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our stay and being able to sit outside and enjoy the river. Walked to the lift lock and through the lovely parks nearby. Would not choose to have the room we were given again - 101- as the corridor door banged every time it was used, you could hear the ice machine and it was right next to the breakfast room. Lovely hotel, a little different from the usual chain offerings.
In the room - we had to go around and plug everything in - lamps etc. as they were all unplugged from the wall. The pool was too cold for me...but then I like it almost warm or I won't get in. The hot tub was quite small....and it was very very hot. Otherwise a very enjoyable and quiet stay.
Got a suite for wife, myself and daughter for University grad. Room is fine, and nice view over the river. Nice balcony to enjoy a drink if the weather cooperates. Front desk is friendly and helpful. Nice little pool and food at breakfast is adequate. Not fancy but fine. While relatively clean the hotel could use a good scubbing and a new coat of paint but overall good value and nothing wrong.
Has what you need, easy access to downtown, free parking and internet. Beautiful balcony opens onto the river. Good breakfast selection. Friendly staff, clean rooms. Pool and hot tub are small but clean.
The staff was very good and helpful. Having forgot a luggage in the room on departure, I phoned on arrival home, and was told not to worry it will be forwarded to me..it arrived via mail the next day. Can't get better than that...congratulation to the staff who were very understanding.
We were in Peterborough for a dance competition and booked here for a one night stay. When I called in to book my reservation, the front desk staff was efficient and friendly. We booked a room with two queen beds as it was that was the only regular room still available. I cringed when I was told it was in the middle of a block of room for a soccer tournament, but it turned out it was not a tournament for younger kids as I had imagined. The room was a nice size, very clean and pleasant. I was very impressed with how quiet our floor was even though the hotel was fully booked. The bed was comfortable and the adjustable ac worked great. It was nice to have both a fridge as well as a microwave. We got a swim in at the pool and the water was perfect - very comfortable temp to swim in. We snuck in for the last bits of the breakfast buffet as my daughter had had a headache that morning so we had a later start than planned, but the staff did not grumble even as we toasted bagels and ate some cereal while they were clearing up the rest and prepping the room. It was a bit far from the venue, but the drive there and back was straight forward and I would not hesitate to book here for next year. The only very minor negative was that there was a noticeable hum of machinery during the night that kept me up for a bit. Not sure if it was from the hotel itself or a nearby business. The night staff was helpful in giving change for the vending machine and the morning staff were pleasant and quick in checking me out.
Great customer service on the phone and in person. Location is beautiful and convenient to so many places. You Can eat your free, tasty, continental buffet breakfast outside on the patio overlooking the water. The room was quite lovely and very clean. We forgot our swimsuits but the pool and hot tub looked great. Fantastic place. I would definitely stay there again. Here is my boyfriend enjoying his morning coffee by the water.
The room was clean and well stocked. The beds comfortable. The pool was a good temperature without tons of chlorine. The breakfast was good and the ladies were working hard to keep everything stocked up even though it was getting near the end of the breakfast time. Overall this was a very good experience.
Spent just one night. Staff very friendly and room average. The pool floor and inside the hot tub pretty dirty. Sitting inside the hot tub you could see clear ring of brown film around the tub. Decided to get out as soon as I saw that. Doesn't take much to clean things so makes me wonder where else they are cutting corners.
Great, friendly service at check-in, clean room and good location. This was a family visit and this hotel had great amenities for the kids with pool and hot tub inside the hotel. Best hotel value in Peterborough.
I was attending a wedding, spent 3 nights at the hotel. Room appeared nice on the river 2 queen beds I was alone so I only had need for one bed. The 3rd night I had my mother-in-law stay with me. At age 92 she slept on a chair with a blanket and pillow, the next morning when clearing out the room I found I was missing a cover to one of the decoration boxes. I pulled back the sheets and blanket to see if it was there, and much to my disgust I found dried blood on the sheets. I addressed the issue with the assistant manager who was a wonderful man he quickly took the sheets to housecleaning. I was not satisfied that I was never contacted by the manager/owner so I called him. Well I was called a liar….. which doesn't sit well with me. As you can clearly see it has taken me some time to review this hotel, it has been haunting me… I do have pictures as proof but I will not post them they are too disgusting. Which is to bad, the staff are wonderful to deal with, I stayed there many times before my husband passed away.
This is the best hotel in the area. Staff are very helpful. Pool and area are clear and well cared for. Cute mini fitness centre. The decor is a bit beige but the building is well sound proofed so you always get a great sleep. ,The breakfast is so so, typical sausage eggs toast, not much section but its always clean and stocked. BW ontonabee is miles above all other hotels.
My husband and I stayed over for the first time in Peterborough this past week and based on rates and positive reviews on Trip Advisor we chose to stay at the Best Western Otonabee Inn. It's a nice location with lovely grounds and easy to find. Our room was very comfortable and we had a view of the Otonabee River out our window. There are a lot of really nice bird houses fashioned to trees on the grounds and nice walking paths and benches to sit at and gaze at the view. The Internet worked great and the room had a small fridge and also a microwave which was quite handy. Small coffee pot for having our first cup in the morning before heading to the free breakfast which was standard fare. Lovely little outside deck to sit at off the breakfast room in warmer weather. We also took advantage of their indoor pool and hot tub. A great way to refresh after a day spent driving in the car. Nice change rooms, great spot. Our room was nice and quiet as well. Absolutely no traffic noise. We did the express checkout which worked great until I realized I'd forgotten to clean out the fridge. Ran back to the front desk where they made me another 'key' and I was in and out again in a second. Great personable service. We'd stay here again in a second.
James served us at the front desk, super nice gentleman and very helpful. He recommended places to eat at and was overall very very nice. Room was lovely, food the next morning was some of the best we have had, they made an extra effort to make small cheese omelets which kept the eggs from drying out, very tasty. Overall selection was great for breakfast.
We were greeted by a brooding duck in the planter outside our rooms, then a beaver out back, then a group of ducks. The view of the river and grassy land was amazing. Staff was really great, especially when we had to stay an extra night due to car trouble.
Stayed only one night but room was spacious and clean, and everything worked. Hot water in shower is HOT so be careful. Bed was comfortable. We got seniors rate which was also CAA automobile rate, which was average priced. It was on main road with easy driving access to the downtown (five minutes). Peterborough has a nice old downtown with lots of bars/restaurants, a city worth visiting.
We were attending a country wedding with very few options near the event location. Chose this hotel two hours drive away and are very happy with our choice for the two nights we needed. Would definitely stay again if the need arises.
Stayed in a 2 queen room for 4 nights with three others while curling in Peterborough. The room was a great size (not cramped even with four people and associated luggage) with a cute little balcony overlooking the river. The TV was larger than I've seen in most hotels, and the bathroom was set up in a way that the sink was separate from the toilet/shower, which was very helpful with four of us trying to get ready all at once. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful/accommodating. The breakfast area could get a bit cramped when busy but the selection/quality of food was fine. We only ran into a couple of issues-- we were on the second floor of one of the wings and there didn't seem to be an elevator anywhere close (not a big deal for us but was a bit of a nuisance with suitcases and anyone with difficulty getting up/down stairs would need to be on the first floor). The room was also tended to get quite warm at night-- I think we ended up trying to turn on the A/C one night even though it was March. Other than that, though, we had a great time and I would consider staying here again if I was ever back in the area.
This week I was travelling for business, I usually stay at Best Westerns when I travel, so I booked for both my stays in North Bay and Peterborough. I wrote my review on the North Bay one already, and would not return. This one in Peterborough however was much better. Friendly staff, clean and spacious room. The decor is outdated, but at least it was clean. Good area, close to shopping/restaurants. I will return here.
This is a terrific BW. The staff members were so helpful and polite. The room was very, very clean and spacious. And the bed - it was very, very comfortable, which is very hard to find in a hotel or motel setting. Sharon W, Victoria, BC
First stay here. Close to downtown (with excellent directions provided by staff) and also to Hwy 7 road to Ottawa. Also quick and comprehensive directions. Lovely setting next to the river and we were given a river view room. Reception responded quickly and efficiently to mend lobby computer (to print boarding pass) and also to sorting out BW travel coupons which I had been provided. This property definitely on my list for next visit to Guelph
Off season great value. Better than average bed. Depend on Netflix and wi-fi for entertainment with no movie options on TV. Handy having good breakfast before leaving. Furniture showing some wear, but comfy.
Didn't have a reservation and had issues with my deposit. Lady at the desk was helpful, offering suggestions and ideas to help us get a room so we weren't stranded. Finally got our room and was very impressed with the cleanliness. Pool was warm and clean, breakfast was great (NOTE: you have to go outside across to another building for the breakfast. Don't forget a jacket if it's cold!) Only complaint was the thin blankets- I woke up quite cold and was too tired to get up and figure out how to turn on the heat.
I love this hotel, I always have a pleasant stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, breakfast is tasty and the pool is so much fun. I have been several times and never a problem! Will definitely visit again.
This was an excellent facility! The staff were so friendly both at the desk and at the breakfast. So impressed with the cleanliness of this hotel. Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good and a variety of hot and cold foods as well as cereals and fruits. Highly recommendable.
While the staff was very good it was an average hotel at an okay price. The rooms were functional, if a little dated. Considering the hotel's location in Canada, why must one go outside to get to the breakfast room?
stayed here for a night on our way to Ottawa. Very clean and spacious room, nothing fancy! breakfast was rather plain but i suppose we cannot really expect for something more than what we pay. There's a pool but did not fancy going in. It looks ok from the outside. There are good places to eat nearby like the red lobster! Very friendly staff.
We followed our London Knights on a recent road trip and stayed at this Best Western. Jeremy, the front desk manager, was friendly and welcoming. He chatted with us about our hockey team and reminisced about his time in London. The breakfast was good with a variety of options. Our room was clean and tidy. We would stay again if in the area. Go Knights Go! :)
I always stay at this hotel when I come to Peterborough. It is close to the highway, not far from town. It is a nice quiet location with a full breakfast overlooking the river. The swimming pool and whilrpool are a bonus. The only downside is the 2 building layout without elevator access to all rooms - you need to specify.
Room beautiful, gorgeous site on the river side. Staff knowledgable, friendly and respectful. Prompt service, easy, helpful staff, check in and out a breeze. Everything clean and neat. Free breakfast great and quite satisfying. This place is a gem, quiet and away from downtown which is still walking distance if you really feel the need to venture downtown
We booked last minute and the price was very reasonable! The room had two double beds plus a pull out couch. Everything was clean and there were lots of towels. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise - eggs were fluffy and the sausage was delicious! We will be back.
Have stayed a few times here over the winter for business. Clean, friendly hotel, reasonably priced. Adequate workout room for the business traveler. Nice complimentary breakfast buffet. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Check in and check out were fast and accurate. During one of my stays, at morning check out, staff member Jeremy swiftly looked after my bill all while professionally dealing with an irate telephone call from a lady who wondered why she couldn't use Air Miles for part of her bill. A true professional
Ok, found another Best Western that is pretty darn good... Check in was a pleasure, the staff was attentive and polite..... requested a change in my room from what I had booked....no problem... Breakfast bar, a tad on the minimal side...but still OK.. Overall, clean rooms, clean lobby, lots of parking...and easy access to downtown Peterboro...
Since we have family in Peterborough we haven't needed to find accommodation when we visit, but there were too many people at the family 'inn'. I like Best Western Hotels so that is what we chose. Even though the hotel was crammed with hockey tournament families, our stay was comfortable and quiet. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate. There is also a pool which we didn't have time to use.
I had the pleasure this past weekend staying with a friend at the Best Western on Lansdowne. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was a suite and we had a fireplace as well as a balcony which looked over the river. The cleaning staff was awesome. The room was comfortable, clean and I would recommend staying there to anyone. Morning breakfast was awesome, with an assortment of eggs, sausage, pancakes, cereal, bagels, toast, yogurts, etc. and fresh fruit, tea, coffee and juices. Excellent! The ONLY negative thing I would have to report was there was a hockey tournament going on in the City and there were a number of younger players (probably around the age of 9-11 years of age) that found it amusing to be running up and down the hallways well after 1:00am and pushing each other on a chair. The front desk was notified and again they had to be advised to keep it quiet Saturday evening. It`s not the children`s fault so much as the parents that were to have been monitoring them. We are no strangers to the hockey tournaments and appreciate that the kids are excited but after 1:00 a.m. it`s a bit much, especially for those guests who have nothing to do with the tournament.
Clean room, good staff. Parking available close to all rooms to help with luggage. Free breakfast was excellent. Nice pool kept clean as well. Hot tub dated and jets are too. Location is excellent as it is close to PMC.
Everything was great from check in to check out! Breakfast was good and the comfort of the bed was awesome. The room was clean. Overall I will go back for sure. Everything was perfect. Customer service help me out to go to the steak house.
I visited a couple of time this Hotel I never got upgraded with my best Western reward program. I know it is at the discretion of the establishment not to upgrade so if your looking to get best western reward status recognition from this best western you won't but this is not what is worrying me ,I ask front desk if the had a king suite available and he said no, I called best western reservation desk they said that yes they have one available plus on the best western site there was one available also on different reservation site a king suite was available , I said this to the front desk that there was some suite available on internet he said no !!!(rude fellow)so I ask what appends if some on reserve online he said that they would have no room for them, so if you reserve online they will not have the room you reserve because they are not in line with internet ,be inform or they just lie to me and this is even worst. so be careful wen reserving on line what they offer is not what they have.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Continental breakfast was high above standard. Very good! Aquatic centre pools/hot tub needed water balanced and chemical attention. Cloudy water and an odor due to low chlorine levels and acidity. Easily fixed so it is not a reason not to stay here.
Nice clean with a sitting room and a separate bedroom with large jacuzzi tube and fireplace.Hard to tell what rooms have what on internet. We stayed in 121 with a walkout over looking the river.Free breakfast eggs, sausage, toast, muffins and fresh fruit
I have stayed with this location twice now this month. Both stays have been fantastic. The first I was solo and was greeted by amazing front desk staff who managed all the special accommodations perfectly and with ease. Amy in sales has been amazing at handling our unique situation and helping to make sure I felt that all my needs were taken care of. My second stay was with my two children, one who is special needs, and my mother. We were made aware that it would be a full house as there was a hockey tournement and several teams were staying at the hotel. You would have never had known that there was a team staying! No noise, no crowded pool or crowded breakfast on the Sunday morning. I have to more stays booked in the next three weeks and I know that its like a home away from home. Clean, comfortable and well looked after property. Amazing staff at all times of the day. The room was spotless - even at early check in. Relaxing atmosphere. A great complimentary breakfast and it was maybe 10 steps from the main building. Even on the coldest morning it was no big deal.
Stayed at this hotel on New Years Eve. We had a queen suite at an amazing value price. Where are you going to get a room like that for $120? Nowhere. It wasn't all perfect though. The cleaning staff had not done a great job and I noticed the table was not cleaned. I was a bit disappointed, but come on.. $120. You have to consider the cost. This isn't the Chateau Laurier, right? Did I spend $400 a night? No. I had called the front desk about an unrelated issue (the battery in the thermostat was flashing and I am weirdo about temperature control when I sleep). "Jeremy" came up immediately and replaced the battery. He asked about the room and I mentioned, reluctantly, about the table having a bit of debris. Not only did he profusely apologize, he ran out and grabbed some cleaners and then personally, thoroughly, cleaned the table. In his suit. His SUIT. That's right. He didn't tell me he would send someone around eventually to look at it he just took ownership and resolved the issue right there on the spot. That is real customer service. That is why I am rating this 3 star hotel a 4. He made me feel like I was an important customer even though I was dropping a meager amount of money. Well done sir and thank you. Our New Years Eve was very enjoyable.
Great place to stay and I always sleep when I stay at Best Western - amazing bed. Staff is top notch, they always go above and beyond for your. Room itself is comfortable and very clean. Internet is excellent. Love where it is located on Lansdowne close to Mark's Finer Diner which I like their food too. I would highly recommend a stay at Best Western.
Staff is very friendly and helpful, knows the local amenities and attractions. room was spotless and very comfortable and relaxing. Overall the experience as a whole was terrific. Everything and more from staff and room, I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely like to stay there during summer months as i had a balcony with river view and would like to see in warmer weather.
Definitely a great choice for a go back to! Patio doors to a deck - we asked for bottom floor because your private deck leads out to the grounds, gazebos and did I mention the water way complete with ducks and geese! Rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the deep soaker tub and awesome shower head! Great nights stay!
We had our old car group stay here for a weekend. Rooms very clean, and look out onto a river. Nice porch to sit and socialize. Food was good as well as service was excellent. Lots of room for our dinner, which was a buffet. Everyone totally enjoyed. I even recommended it to friends when we got home. Nice area.
A great time in Peterborough -- close to the tournament location in Millbrook, great service -- they accommodated our need for a slightly earlier breakfast, meaning the boys got to eat! Thanks -- we'll be back.
Enjoyed our stay from start to finish. The property is beautiful along the river and very clean. Location is convenient to shopping and restaurants. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Stayed on 2nd floor on the river side of the building.
I always stay at the Best Western Otonabee Inn when visiting Peterborough for work or leisure. The hotel staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and nice, the breakfast is fantastic and it seems to be close to all the places we need to go. Great place all around.
We were only here for one night as we were in transit. This room was spacious with fireplace, chair, sofa, fridge, coffee making machine and had a river view. We wished we could have stayed longer. Breakfast which consisted of eggs, French toast, pastries toast & bagels was included . Coffee was OK. Definitely recommend this place.
We were here twice in the last month and both times had excellent service from the front desk. Really nice of them to upgrade our rooms to avoid being in the heart of the hockey tournament bookings. King room on the 4th floor was lovely. Decent breakfast and very accommodating for gluten free food. Pool was a hit with the kids, and water was actually pretty warm which was nice.
We were in Peterborough for a wedding and stayed at the Best Western. It has good basic accommodation with decent buffet breakfast. We were in the annex upstairs. If mobility is an issue be aware there is no elevator. Our room was quite large and had a balcony overlooking the river. Unfortunately we were quite busy and didn't have time to use it. Bathroom was basic but clean and overall the property seemed well maintained. Couple of good restaurants within walking distance. Would stay here again when in the area for short trip.
The rooms are always clean, which is what is most important for me. The pillows leave something to be desired, even though a range of pillows are provided (I just couldn't find one that worked for me). The staff is very helpful and friendly, and seem genuinely happy to see me each time I stay at this hotel on business.
Happened to be in the area, that I have zero local knowledge of, unexpectedly. Popped into a McDonalds re 20mins wifi to google hotel/motel options. I was wishing to keep $ cost 'reasonably' low without hitting a 'cockroach' motel category. At $112 (CAA/AAA rate!) plus HST/tax, considering it's Peterborough not major city, it was so-so. To clarify, there are rooms in the 'main' building that i've no idea about re feedback. I, however, was in a smallish size room, 2nd floor, in one of the annexes. No elevator (not an issue for me but would've been handy re luggage from car). The entrances to the annex and the general 'first impression' of the corridors weren't too bad but for a BEST WESTERN PLUS, to me, were dated. Felt like a roadside independent motel. Room comfortable clean etc - but, and this bugs me when one pays $125 plus for accommodation - there wasn't an armchair or recliner or love-seat to relax in to watch TV or chill while on laptop. This, obviously, could be different in other rooms. Yes, there were the standard issue small table with couple of 'office / dining room' type chairs. Staff at check in and out - all good. Wifi - reliable If you're just just needing somewhere to flop etc then I'd suggest taking the time to do a little more research and get a decent motel. Meaning...i gather this hotel doesn't have a restaurant....it's not necessarily any more close to 'restaurant / amenities / attractions' than other options etc.
Exceptional. Recommend highly. We felt the condition of all public areas was very clean and tidy. Also, bathroom cleanliness was top notch. By all appearances the exterior grounds showed pride of management and all staff.
Not exactly a hotel where one would want to spend a vacation but a perfectly functional hotel when visiting someone in town or coming for business. Generous parking, a comfortable room and a very decent breakfast. We have stayed here before and it will certainly be our first chic on our next trip to Peterborough.
This hotel did not meet my expectations at all. I had booked months in advance and liked what I saw. I need a pool and a hot tub. However I was met with people from the area who use the pool as well - I wanted peace and quiet - and the hot tub is the size of my bathtub! And there was hair in it!!!!! The place had no elevator. We had to leave the the main building to get to our building- by the outside! And same for the pool and then another building for the restaurant which I did not go to because I was not interested in walking all over - in and out! No no no never again!
Stayed at this hotel near the end of September for a wedding weekend. Room was spacious and spotless. The double beds were incredibly comfortable and I slept very well (which I always have trouble with in a strange bed!). Inside room was a patio door which opens up to a private deck overlooking the river that flows beside the property. Fed ducks from my deck! The young gentleman working Night Audit was very friendly and helpful as were all the staff that we encountered. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
The setting couldn't be better. Situated on the river with a nice little walking trail it's beautiful. The hotel on the other hand is just ok. The "plus" part must refer more to the land than the hotel. Don't get me wrong the hotel isn't bad but it's just a basic hotel. Our room was clean and in good shape. The hotel itself is a bit dated and the same was true for the room. Although dated everything was maintained well and was in working order. The breakfast is nothing special basic offerings but less impressive than other Best Western Plus I've stayed at. Overall it's not a bad place. You'll get a clean comfortable room. If you are fortunate to have enough time to explore the grounds or have a room with a view that's a bonus.
The Best Western Otonabee Inn has everything (...and more) I need while staying in Peterborough on business. The staff are super friendly and ensure that my needs are met. I have aways noticed how quiet the rooms are from those around them. The hotel is very clean with very updated rooms. Breakfast is great.
What a nice little place! I was so impressed. Stayed in Peterborough Thanksgiving weekend and was lucky enough to snag a room here! Rooms were spacious and clean. The beds were super comfortable! Breakfast here was great - hot and cold options. The location is beautiful, right on the river. I liked having breakfast and looking out at the river- it's nice if the weather is warm- you can sit outside and view the beautiful scenery! I was so impressed with this place!
Thoroughly enjoyed the stay at this facility. Great view of the river and well located for access to restaurants and other amenities. Easy access to my business meeting. Would recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again on my next trip to Peterborough.
We stayed in Peterborough for dinner & a show for our anniversary. We had the King Premier Suite and it was lovely. Our patio overlooked the river and the weather was warm enough to sit outside. The room was immaculate with fireplace and jacuzzi, plus the king bed was extremely comfortable. Front desk staff were very friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet had a very good selection of hot and cold items, and the little danish pastries were delicious. The hotel is located close to the downtown area, restaurants and shopping, yet the setting is very peaceful. We didn't get a chance to use the pool or hot tub but they looked very inviting. Will stay here again when we go to another show.
A great Best Western - in a great location in the city with a feeling of being in the country - right on the water within a park like setting - trees, flowers, geese - beautiful gazebo with picnic tables. Very quiet inside the hotel - nice indoor pool & hot tub with an outdoor sitting area. Hotel is on a main thoroughfare with easy access to all parts of the city. Good restaurants and shopping nearby. We will be back!
This is a superb hotel. The rooms are very clean and attractive. The best part is the amazing night's sleep that you get on the pillow-top beds. Also very quiet. Parking is free, and so is the Wifi which is a plus. Loved having the fridge in the room to store our wine and lots of comfy chairs as we were entertaining guests. No restaurant on site, but a great hot breakfast supplied the next morning in the Riverside room. Eggs, sausages, toast, lots of danish and muffins, juice, fresh fruits, coffee etc. Lots of restaurants nearby. Great disabled access to all areas of the hotels which is a bonus. Would definitely stay here again.
great little place , front desk service very help full. free parking and wifi . Although told the breakfast was awesome , I had to depart before I could use this service . express check out , if going ask for room 230 , very nice, comfortable with mini frig and micro. Plus you get a little raised deck to sit on outside of the rooms sliding patio doors. Which looks onto green space .
We decided to stay at this motel because it has an indoor pool. The motel was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the section called riverside and it was a great choice. We spent a lot of time sitting by the river feeding the ducks and geese while having a few cool beverages. The pool was excellent and clean and the hot tub was nice although it could be a lot bigger. Towels were plentiful and large. Our rooms were a good size with a big screen TV and a balcony with chairs that over looked the river and garden area. The included full breakfast was very nice with a good selection of breakfast items. My only concern was at checkout, they couldn't find my membership account for Beast Western. This is the second time this has happened so I missed out on the points for the two rooms I rented. I would recommend this Inn and will stay there again next time in Peterborough. It had free wifi as well.
Great scenery ...of the river and saw ducks which came up to us to get fed ! Accommodation was excellent , breakfast all included ..great place to stay ! Everyone was very polite...and always willing to make our stay better. Recommended great places to have dinner.
