Nice hotel, very clean, comfortable, and great price! Comfy bed, nice shower, lovely decor in room and throughout the hotel. I was surprised at the price, as I thought it would be much more. So definitely a great deal! Front desk employee was nice and helpful upon arrival.
I chose this hotel because it was close to the event I was attending and I have had wonderful experiences with Best Westerns in the past. This hotel did not meet my expectations or previous experiences. The room was dingy and not very clean. The USB ports beside the bed did not work and one lamp was missing a shade. The locks on the doors were difficult to maneuver particularly the one to an adjoining room that may or may not have been occupied by someone I did not know. Overall I was disappointed with the experience and another time I would choose a different hotel.
We had several rooms with family in for a wedding! Our frontdesk crew Espe and Kake and GM were phenomenal! They bent over backwards to accommodate us! Rooms are updated and clean! Indoor pool was a huge hit for the young ones in our party. Nice long table in breakfast area / lobby fit lots of us! Breakfast was varied (even fruit!) and plentiful. Comfortable and spacious rooms! Highly recommend!
Great stay. The hotel was clean and in a safe place. The people at the desk were so nice and friendly. This is one of the best stays we have had.
This hotel was among the most unclean I've ever stayed in. When I walked in, it was immediately clear that the halls had not been vacuumed in some time. Then, I was assigned to a room that hadn't been cleaned. When I explained this to the front desk staff, they were dismissive but reassigned me to a clean room. I got the sense that this kind of thing wasn't unusual for them. When I finally got into the clean room, it smelled horrible and there were many visible stains on the couch. There were also many stains on the couch in the first room. Overall, the hotel was incredibly unclean, and the staff were indifferent. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. The Breakfast has a great selection and good food. The common area is pool area, and rooms Are all clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and very helpful. We were worried because it is located so close to the airport that it might be hard to sleep with airport noise, but we never heard one plane. We would definitely stay here again
We stayed at this hotel from June 12 to 16 in room 315. There is a continuous noise from the street side. In this hotel there is no daily maintenance of the rooms. If you want the trash bin empty and fresh towels, you will have to hang a card on your door. The older man in the breakfast room is very helpful. He continuously replenishes all items.
Hotel was alright. Room was clean. Breakfast was very good. We were in room 330 which is on the back side of the hotel on the corner by the highway. There was a lot of road noise, but it was a good spot if you want to sit and watch airplanes landing at MCI.
Quick overnight stay before heading to Lake of the Ozark's for five days of fun on the lake and daily visits to the Jolly Roger in Rocky Mount. But that's a different review. The shuttle service was fast and friendly. KK picked us up and brought us to the hotel, he also checked us in and was even our bar- tender. We had a couple of night caps before heading up to the room. The room was spacious and well kept and the beds were comfortable. Shower was very nice too. In the morning I called the desk to ask for a little bit of a late checkout and was told that would be fine. When we went to checkout guess who was there, still. KK was there for all of our transactions. He is a very great asset to your hotel. He genuinely cares for his guests. Whatever you are paying him you should double it. He truly left an impact on my wife and I. Next time we go to the lake we will be staying here.
This particular hotel comes highly recommended. It is very clean. The staff is courteous. They have an indoor pool and I feel really good there relaxed and close to everything!
This is not the best or cleanest Best Western, but it's near the airport and they offer a shuttle to the airport. So, it is good enough. The bed is comfortable. My room there was a loud rumble from the highway outside, maybe they could find a window treatment that would muffle the noise.
Only come visit if you want the old guy fixing the food to touch the food with bare hands as he is putting it out. Rust in the showers, hair all in the bedding and stains on the blinds. Big rip in the head board Attendant advised that pool was under maintaince, surly didn't look like it, gym had a horrible stinch. Was offered the promo to stay two nights get one free and when I called to redeem was told that ht eoffer wasn't valid even though the signs are posted all through out the hotel.
I arrived and met a funny but friendly receptionist. She said "The reservation is for another date!" and shen added "just kidding...". This was the start of two pleasant nights.
Easy to find in a good location right off the interstate. Nice clean room with an extremely comfortable king sized bed. Also the on-site bar/ restaurant is small but has surprisingly not overpriced food the was good.
Nice hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast was typical for a hotel. Very close to the airport and not too far from the city if you have rented a car. The hotel also offers an airport shuttle, which is a bonus.
Really liked the hotel . The only real problem was stepping on burrs in the carpet. We picked at least 8 out of carpet. When you would step on one you would know it. Also you do hear every one who was in the room above us . It was clean and the employees were all super nice.
Nice stay. Excellent service. Clean rooms and area. Good sleep. Nice locality with good parking. Good breakfast items to have. Nice and helpful staff. Swimming Pool was under maintenance but was looking Nice and big.
Decent hotel. Some new changes. No being loud, or slamming of doors. Used to be chaos all the time. Squatters were once an issue. Seems to have changed. Breakfast was okay. No bar service for quests because of Christmas. Hm. Anyway, was decent. Beds are hard, pillows need to be changed to something better that don't instantly flatten once you lay your head on them. If this is a "Plus", there should be better pillows.
Very clean and simple BW property, we selected this hotel because of the airport shuttle and parking option. The GM was very helpful and made sure our shuttle got us to the airport promptly. Best bang for the buck if you're flying out of MCI and don't want to pay for pricey airport parking.
I've had some bad Best Western experiences, but this place makes up for them. Clean, well-designed rooms. Decent beds. Bathroom is very clean. AC is functional and a decent sound. TV is a bit small and limited channels, but strong and consistent wifi. Good parking lot lighting. Super friendly and helpful staff (shoutout to Dylan).
This was my first time staying at a beast western and best western will now be my go to hotel ! Check in was super quick and easy, the staff was very friendly and it was such a nice hotel. Top notch service !
My first impression was that this hotel isn't up to the standards of a Best Western hotel. This hotel has seen better days & is in need of a renovation. The pull shades over the windows were torn and the leather desk/office chair was lopsided and badly worn out. The TV did not work (most likely someone had changed the input controls & staff did not readjust it). There were bags of trash in the hallway when we checked in at 4pm but they were gone by 7pm. The Super 8 Nextdoor looked in better condition than this hotel when it should be the opposite. On the “plus” side it appeared the bathrooms may have recently been upgraded as they were nicer than the rooms/hotel. They also have a bistro/bar on site and across the street is a nice walking path near a creek which is very pretty. Another plus is that it is on a quiet roadway and not next to a noisy freeway. This could explain why so many commercial pilots were seen staying there & all the “do not disturb” signs on several doors.
I flew into KC, pick up a rental van and spent the night at Best Western Plus up by the Airport. Nice location, staff was very efficient getting me registered. Liked that it had a Bistro for food options!
I received a breakfast bag at 4:00AM with my airport shuttle. The 4:00AM airport shuttle was greatly appreciated. pool was clean Staff were friendly courteous and not too talkative. It was a relief to finally be able to rest and not have worry about anything
The refrigerator had left over food in it from previous guest . There were m&ms in the bed . Person at desk said “ we will make a note of it . Lady at breakfast just gives dirty looks as if the guest are an inconvenience . Won't stay here again
The Best Western Plus at KCI-East is surrounded by other hotel properties and this location provides the best VALUE in the area. The management team here has trained their staff to care, resolve issues
The hotel was clean. The breakfast was nice. But, not having a wash cloth available to use for both nights I stayed is gross and not acceptable. Go purchase me one at Walmart if you need to. I shouldn't come home gross and sweaty from the ball fields and not be able to wash myself at a hotel.
This hotel is about ten minutes from the airport, so it is very handy to get your rental car back. The bed was comfortable. The shower was nice and they had a coffee maker that used the little cartridges. I didn't get a chance to try their breakfast because of an early flight. On the con side: our room was a little noisy because of a nearby highway.
The hotel was pretty clean and quiet, the room was pretty nice and clean but I did not like the watered down eggs and the hot food was not hot. Wasn't a fan of the coffee either. The bed was so hard I could not sleep all night.
It was fine. It did what I needed which was give me a room to sleep in overnight. But it was loud up till midnight, my tv had no signal so I couldn't use the tv to drown it out. It was just fine. When I went to check out I had to wait and didn't seem to care that I had no tv service.
We traveled to KC for a flight to Europe. Choosing your hotel for it's vicinity to the Airport; the airport shuttle was a much appreciated amenity. We were taken to the airport promptly the day of our departure. And with a call after we obtained our luggage upon our return, the shuttle was merely a short 5-10 minute wait. Both drivers where very helpful. Check in and out was very efficient. The opportunity to park our car for 7 days while we were at our destination was a very affordable option and we appreciate that.
Excellent experience. We arrived very late after a delayed flight. Easy checkin and super clean and comfortable room. Nice complimentary breakfast the next morning. Flying out in a couple of weeks and plan to take advantage of their shuttle service and parking,
Very pleasant stay. My room is nice, clean, and comfortable. There's a small bistro in the restaurant that serves very good soups. Also has an assortment of other items, but all I wanted was the soup. Really hit the spot for supper! And a breakfast is quite good – a very nice assortment of steam table items, make yourself pancakes/waffles, and the usual, breads, yogurt, etc.
Long Over Due Review OUTSTANDING !!!!!!! SERVICE!!!!!! My Fiancé was on a trip to Kansas for a death in the family. On her return trip she was going to need to stay at a hotel and I told her to stay at this facility as they had an airport shuttle. Fast forward to check in. She had traveled several hours by car to get to the hotel and it was late. She had not eaten and was extremely tired and before I knew it she had payed for the room on her very limited budget. I contacted the hotel and asked if they could refund her and use my points instead. The front desk clerk was very helpful and between the front desk and the national reservations center they were able to take care of the billing so there was no money out of pocket for my Fiancé. WAIT THERE IS MORE This property went even further for customer service. They facilitated her being able to get food delivered to her room from a local restaurant and according to my fiancé was the best burger she had ever had. Thank you Front Desk WAIT THERE IS MORE Being that she needed to use the shuttle service to get to the airport the front desk made sure there was a shuttle available to get her to her to the airport in plenty of time and because it was so early and breakfast was not normally available so early, made sure that she also had breakfast before leaving for the airport. OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!
Area a little bland and dismal (airport) but good deal. Room hot from floors below and hard to cool down. Had to put on AC during sub- freezing temperatures. Always a good breakfast. Some service machines getting pretty high-tech and complicated to operate. (Pancake automatic assembly line mạchine that operates with a wave of the hand took a while to figure out)
GREAT breakfast, comfy beds, clean room and amazing customer service! Gym was nice and clean as well, good machine and weight selection. The location is great and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you
Most amazing bartender. She is always polite and is good with the customers. If you are ever staying at this hotel, make sure to go see her. Good prices on drinks and food is great. Made fresh by her upon order. 5 Star +
Very clean, staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is very good and the woman that takes care of it is exceptional. Always making sure that food is hot and plentiful. Always with a smile and a thank you. Would recommend.
Hotel and employees were all wonderful. We were on our way home from a family vacation and had 9 rooms reserved. Craig and another gal that was working made checking in very easy. Breakfast was very good as well.
If you need a place to staneed service to the airport they work around your time . if you are coming back it's a safe place to leave your car and alot less trouble and cost compared to leaving it at the airpot
Windows were so poor it was like I was sleeping outdoors next to the highway. Bed sheets had obvious urine stains. Paint was peeling off of the ceiling. Bathroom looked like it had poop stains behind the toilet. The topper was when I woke up staring at a bed bug. When I reported it to the manager he offered a different room. Not what I wanted. If you have bed bugs in one room, you'll have them in other rooms. I was suppose to stay another night, but there's no way I would stay at a hotel that has known bed bugs. I should have been offered a refund, but of course I wasn't. I would definitely not recommend this hotel.
In my mind I had higher expectations from previous BW Plus stays. Things were okay, not many complaints without being nitpicky. Pool was cold, not enough towels, dents and dings in room. Nice breakfast selection.
Got to hotel late evening and no front desk staff. Waited quite a while and he shows up in the hotel van—/ he had left to go pickup a single man from the airport. Also hotel was “out” of pillowcases and blankets. Hallway ac was broken. Internet was super sloth speed. Carpets turned my soxs black. Never this location again!!
We were glad to get a spacious room at the property after a long day in the car. We especially enjoyed picking up a BBQ dinner from the near Smoke Box to enjoy in our room. Bathroom looked updated, with nice toiletries included.
The rooms were clean. The breakfast had waffles, pancakes, eggs, fruits, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, and milk. It was a busy weekend, the baseball tournament what's happening, but the staffing was able to keep up with the breakfast supplies.
they at Best Western Plus- they went out of their way to accommodate all the family and friends that we had stay here. the gal managing the breakfast area.... went and retrieved 8 extra chairs to provide for those having breakfast...... all was wonderful. we will be back. -Joe P
The Bedsheets were dirty. Instead of putting me in a new room, front desk just had staff changed the sheetThere was a tornado warning and staff disappeared and guests had no idea where to take shelter
We stayed here because it was a close proximity to our terminal . I expected more from a best western plus so I was extremely disappointed for the price we paid. The bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom tub had loose black hair in it , not mine, I'm blonde. Overall room was old looking. Will not stay here again, especially for $100 a night!!! Others are much better than this place.
It was very clean, very friendly helpful staff, full breakfast which, unfortunately, we could not partake since had to leave for 7 AM flight. However, motel provided grab & go bag with granola bars, fruit, water, etc.
This room was booked and paid for at a Park, Stay, and Fly rate. Even with the little "note" about checking with the hotel on how many days you can leave your vehicle free of charge. It is bogus. This hotel only lets you park free the day you stay and the day you return. The day you stay is free either way so it is basically 1 day. Most places that have Park and fly rates are 7-14 days. The rate I paid for the room was worth a few days parking. I will not return to this hotel.
Nice hotel near the airport. It is very clean, comfortable rooms and the staff are all very friendly. The breakfast is good. Several restaurants nearby and convenience stores. I recommend this hotel for the comfort and value. There is a restaurant in the hotel that serves dinner, but we did not try it.
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. The king suite was roomy and the bed comfortable. It was quiet and we did not have any disturbances during the night. The room was clean and the hotel appeared well cared for. There were plenty of towels and the housekeeping staff changed out our trash cans each day. They do not change bedding or towels for multiple night stays which was fine with us. You can ask them to if needed. There is a small microwave and fridge in the room as well. The staff was great, always pleasant and helpful and check-in was easy. We would definitely stay here again.
Rooms were very clean, updated, front staff very personable and friendly. Breakfast was delicious! Would definitely stay here again! Table and chairs located outside the pool was nice. The only thing was the doors locked on us at 10pm, luckily we found another way out.
I booked this hotel due to the complimentary airport shuttle. I called before my flight to confirm my arrival time - they let me know they operated until 11pm. I landed at 10:05pm and called. The hotel desk said they would call me back after they got a hold of the driver. 15 minutes later I called back after not receiving a call - she said she couldn't get a hold of the driver so I would need to take a taxi. My Uber from the airport to the hotel cost me $25. The hotel would not reimburse me. The hotel is low quality in terms of bed comfort - but the primary issue is rude employees and not honoring the complimentary airport shuttle.
Great location and really close to the airport. Glad I was able to stay here. I always stay at Best Western hotels and was able to get a grab and go breakfast before my flight since I had to leave at 4am and they hadn't started serving breakfast yet. What a great option!!
This place is well worth the money. We have stayed at higher more expensive well know places and we could not have gotten a better cleaner place. You won't be disappointed!!!!! Check them out if you're ever in the area great location beautiful place
Very close to the airport. They have very clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Internet and everything else were perfect. They have easy shuttle service to and from the airport. Definately will stay there again.
Loved our weekend stay! The staff was very accommodating and friendly, the room was perfectly appointed, the breakfast was great, the pool and workout facilities were adequate for our needs and clean, and the hotel was in close proximity to some excellent shopping! We could not have been happier. Will recommend to friends and will be initiating some more girls weekends with friends!
From the lobby this hotel looks nice and clean. Once we got to our room it looked clean but did smell of old cigarette smoke. We have stayed at Best Western Hotels in the past, however never again. Once we turned the sheets down, we found hair and stains all over. We called down to the front desk and they indicated they had no other rooms available and sent up new sheets and pillowcases and indicated that we would have to change the sheets ourselves. The new sheets still had marks but they at least smelled laundered and at 12:30am after a long day of travel we just wanted some rest. As we changed the sheets the next thing we notice was the comforter had a skid stain which was covered by the topper sheet that happed to fall off. So off to the front desk to get a clean comforter. If you read other reviews on Tripadvisor you will see the same answer from the manager but nothing has changed. They called my wife upon our return home and indicated that they would credit us back $30.00. Sorry but not worth it for dirty sheets and bedbugs take your business elsewhere as they are many other options available by the airport.
At a minimum, I expect the bedsheets to be changed between guest bookings. We arrived after 2 am due to a delayed flight and checked into a room with a King bed. The bed was made up as you would expect, but on waking in the morning we found the center of the sheet had blood and semen that could not have been missed if the bed covers had actually been pulled down. The only conclusion I can draw is that the sheets are not changed in this hotel if they don't look too rumpled at the head of the bed! We did report this situation to the person at the front desk and received a response of "sorry". We will definitely use a different airport hotel at the Kansas City airport in the future. "Sorry" to do this as we are Best Western Rewards members and have had very good experiences with the brand across the country.
I loved my stay at this hotel. The staff was amazing. The lobby was warm and inviting. The breakfast selection was off the chain amazing. I will stay here again if I am ever in need of a place in Kansas City.
Stayed here for a quick get away to the MCI airport. At the end of the stay, was surprisingly happy how good the property is! Very spacious, clean linen, decent/practical furnitures in the room. The breakfast was really lavish. For $102/night the hot and continental buffet spread was more than a bargain. Didn't use the room or restaurant. All the staff were very cordial. Sai Shree at the breakfast area was amazing. Couple of gas stations within couple of minutes walking distance to pick up the essentials. Highly recommended.
The Hotel was Modern, queen, comfortable bed. I had an inside one up and center which was nice! And the breakfast area I was Decorated very well! The staff was excellent! I booked a hotel for the shuttle service to the airport now unfortunately the vehicle accident so that cost us another day with the rental car other than that the overall experience at the hotel what is very good!
Front desk and overall look of hotel and rooms was nice. The rooms are laid out beautifully for looks and functionality. (We we're in a king + sofa sleeper) In the room we encountered several problems that the front desk attempted to fix…they offered us another room but we didn't have the energy to pack up and move. Breakfast the next morning was tasty.
This is pretty good place for one night stays. Rooms were clean the staff were great. I have a few issues would be nice to have channel guide print out for tv. My main complaint is the mattress was way too firm it was just hard to get a good sleep. Would I stay here again maybe.
I would not stay at this property again. The facility, including the rooms, look run down. It was noisy, the room was hot when we arrived, and the beds are so firm you'd just as well sleep on the floor. Elevator was also broken and we had to carry luggage to our 3rd floor room. I realize that sometimes things like that happen, but it was just another sign that the property has not been well cared for. Have stayed at other hotels at the same exit and they are much nicer.
The staff were nice and helpful good breakfast after not serving none due to covid and pool was great but rooms were hot even tho tem was at 60 and their was bugs in bathroom dont think on comming back
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very quiet. The rooms were very large and clean. We had an minor issue with our AC when we checked in, but the hotel staff was able to quickly move us. Everyone was so kind and helpful. We were able to enjoy a fun couples getaway to KC! Thanks!!
The hotel is in a convenient location! We were traveling as a team for baseball and the staff was extremely helpful getting our reservations made and checked in upon arrival. They went out of their way to accommodate a last minute addition. The rooms were clean, the complimentary breakfast was perfect for feeding a team of boys. Would definitely recommend when traveling with a group or on your own.
After 25 years and staying 2 times a year at mostly this Best Western they have lost our business. We even had reservations for later this year. We checked out a day early and we're still charged for the two rooms. After a month and a half of calling, refused to work with us. Hospitality is horrible, coffee pot, clocks radio, ice machine didn't work, and TV remote did not work. We could hear the people in the hall and traffic on the interstate. Staff was minimal and not friendly at all. In fact they were rude. Management has gone downhill. Do not recommend.
The floor I was on smelled like pot which I thought was weird since it was a no smoking hotel. My room was clean but the bed was rock hard, if you like a hard bed you'll be fine but I was uncomfortable. When I did sleep I was woken up by the people next to me because the walls are paper thin. I have never stayed in a hotel where I could here the people across from me talk and hear their running water.
Not really clean, and room had a flowery odor that was used to cover up previous bad odor. Lot of road noise from adjacent interstate. Doors slamming all hours of the night made it difficult to get good sleep. Didn't feel this was worth what paid for the room.
Flying out of Kansas City Airport so we needed to stay close by. Moderate price, nice front lobby area, friendly staff. Indoor pool looked very nice but did not use. Hung out in room for a few hours after dinner and before bed. Very loud guests up and down the hall with a bunch of screaming little kids and teenagers and tons of slamming doors (still happening as I write this at 9pm). Appeared to be a group. Room was large, modern, and comfy. Only average in cleanliness, bathroom definitely needed more attention. Toilet seat needed to be replaced too - bumpy, chipped, marked, scratched - made it looked very dirty and gross!
In the time of COVID I have stayed at a few hotels with extra cleaning to abate peoples' worries. This is not one of them. At a glance looks to be an older property that has had a facelift. After a friendly check-in I found my room to be loud due to a loose heater cover that was vibrating. After being unable to get it to securly re-attach I contacted the front desk. They quickly moved me to another room, an upgrade to a king size with a couch. Nice. Before leaving the room I pointed out the multiple stains on the chaise lounge and the stains on the bed comforter. The new room looked like the last guests had eaten a few meals there and housekeeping had failed to clean up afterwards. There were crumbs all over the couch and sticky food remnants on the desk. It was late, and I was tired, so I inspected the bed, and thankfully found it to be clean. I went to bed and contacted the front desk the next morning. I and asked that the room be cleaned. Actually I said, "I would appreciate it if housekeeping could scrub every horizontal surface. I feel like the room is dirty." They agreed, but when I got back to the room that evening, the room had not been cleaned. The bed was made, and I had a new coffee pot (the first one had been broken)... I again asked for the room to be cleaned... when I arrived back in the room the third night, it had not been cleaned... but it was again late, so I went to bed... and found that many guests were apparently there to party... slamming doors, coming and going between rooms, talking loudly on their way back from the club... it was a sleepless night, but thankfully it was my last at the Best Western Plus KCI East.
Reserved a king suite with a pullout sofa. Made two request for pillows and blankets. Each time was told they would be delivered to the room. Went to the front desk and was met by the general manager who stated they had run out of pillows and blankets. He offered nothing else, not even an apology just rudeness and hostility when confronted about his attitude and the fact that he failed to notify us of this issue which would have given us time to make alternate arrangements or even purchase a blanket before stores closed. I would note that I was traveling with two teenagers, one of who made the request in person at the front desk.
I absolutely loved this motel which I booked on line with price line. The rooms are clean and new. There is a new swimming pool and a great seating area for breakfast, visiting, playing games, etc. The only negative experience that I had here ( was here for 2 nights) is that they are grossly understaffed at this motel. Most generally there is only one person working the front desk and during the day I have seen a maid and a handy man and there more be more staff, but I know there is only one person at the desk during the day, evening and overnight. The overnight staff not only has to do everything in the motel but he is also the shuttle driver to get people to the airport. He has to leave the motel completely unattended as he drives the shuttle and I have personally seen 3 or 4 guests waiting in the lobby wondering what the heck is going on. The overnight staff is working his butt off. I believe that the owner of this motel has to loosen his pocket book in the midst of the Covid issue and although they are not nearly as busy as usual, there is still much work to be done and not enough staff to do it.
We stayed there before our flight out the next morning. The room was fine at first glance. I soon saw where housekeeping had cut corners. There were multiple dark stains all over the blue chair next to our bed. When I went into the bathroom there were water spots all over the mirror and long red hairs all over the bath tub. It looked like there were bite marks out of the toilet seat???? There was a large mildew ring in the toilet and black spots on the tile floor. And lastly, the pillows were not king sized pillows, even though it was a king bed. It's a small thing, but it did negatively impact our sleep.
We first stayed at Best Western Plus Kansas City Airport-Kci East in the fall of 2019 when we were flying out of KCI for a week long trip. The hotel is located just minutes away from the airport, making it very convenient. We left our car parked at the hotel while on our trip and made use of the hotel's shuttle service. We were very satisfied. Most recently we stayed at this hotel as we were driving through on a trip to east Tennessee the hotel was on out route and was very reasonably priced. We have a been very satisfied with the service and convenience of this hotel and would recommend it.
I got a great room, across from some loud people The treadmill is broken and the room didnt seem very clean. When I mentioned the treadmill, it was as if management knew and didnt care The dryer dont work... supposedly someone was coming to fix it. Its a third party company and there was some sub freezing temperatures.. they did however dry my clothes for me.. The pool.. well yes there was a pool but waiting for a part? The ladies/gentlmen at the front desk are very kind and curtious.. They are doing the best with what managment gives them... I guess management can still make money whether they fix the ammenities or not! Sad!! How hard is it to buy a treadmill?? You are a multi million dollar company!! Maybe if the company who services the washer/dryer cant get out to fix it.. (I was told it had been down a while) then managment should get someone who will service their stuff. But again.. Management doesn't seem to care about things being out of order. I do a lot of traveling and it just seems that more and more managment dont want to spend any money to fix things.. I know of at least 6 people that only came here because of the pool and should of been told right off the bat that it wasnt in operation! My room however was very clean! Check your refrigerators as they dont seem too cold..but your room will be because the heater/ac unit is a window unit and the ice cold air from outside (it was windchill -15 or more) will blow right in!! I stuffed two towels on either side of it to try and block the cold air coming in . Housekeeping was awesome.. Anything you need she was getting for you right away... I would give it a 6 on a scale of 1-10.. but definitely NOT the staffs fault.. but whoever is managing this hotel !
Check in was a breeze. They had us on the first floor near the end of the hallway (should have parked closer to that entrance). We walked to that room, unlocked the doors and walked into the room only to find it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest/guests. So back down the hallway we went and the clerk assigned us another room. I liked the layout of the 1st floor room (it looked like it had been remodeled compared to the second room we had). Bed was so so (too soft for me). Bathroom shower had a nice faucet but shower head wasn't the best in the world but it could be to the water pressure that I wasn't impressed. Wi-fi was sufficient for what we needed to do. Didn't really look or watch the TV. Breakfast to go was nothing special. We went to Starbucks instead. Hand sanitizer at the front desk was way too sticky. NOT a fan.
Our visit started off decent. The front desk lady was nice and the pool was warm. Hotel was clean.. except for the bathroom wall. However, soon realized the walls are like paper around 9pm when neighbors moved into the room next to us. I was woken up at midnight by a crazy lady yelling and cursing at her children and this went on for over an hour. Not the hotel's fault, but the connecting door between the rooms NEED to go.. it allows too much noise transfer. So, since I was awake, I went to the restroom and as I'm conducting my business, I look up to see a ROACH crawling over my shower. I killed it and will be presenting it to the front desk in the morning and demanding a refund. And now, as I'm sitting here in my NON-SMOKING room.. I'm smelling cigarette smoke, which is a big problem as my son has asthma and has a reaction to cigarette smoke. Will be reporting this hotel to more people than managers/owners. I got pictures and videos as evidence of it all.
I had to reschedule a non refundable stay due to getting caught in a snowstorm in Japan during my PCS move. Ms. Olivia was more than helpful and willing to cancel the charge so that I could reschedule
Very friendly staff, breakfast provided, excellent regular housekeeping withvery clean rooms, super fast wifi. All staff kept to covid-19 regulations, looking forward to returning when they are able to reopen the bar in the lobby, highly recommend.
The service was great , night audit was attentive to our needs .. maybe the morning shift could you help with he's attitude. The room was clean. Great location and very good on pricings. Would really recommend my stay and would stay here again 9/10 service.
Great as always. Nice rooms, easy access to the highway. Clean lobby. Employees do their best to make each stay a pleasant one. This is always my go to hotel. I stay here so much my grandchildren and I are known by first name.
Our stay at the Best Western Plus in KC was very pleasant. Rooms were very clean, quiet and relaxing. The amenities were adequate for what we needed. If not for Covid19 we could have enjoyed the pool and a bountiful breakfast. But all in all it was great.
My wife and I were travelling to different midwest cities and stayed at this location in the Kansas City area. It was perfect for our needs. A short drive from the Plaza and other Kansas City amenities. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.
I have stayed here before and it was very good however this stay we couldn't get anyone to answer the lobby phone so we couldn't get anyone to fix our problems. The room was damp, the chair mildewed, and we could not get a blanket for the pull out couch.
First time booking on Priceline and will be the last! For starters this was mini honeymoon.I booked here for hot tub/spa which they had neither, even though there were signs indicating there was. They did switch us to room with whirlpool tub for one of our 2 nights, but pump on tub kept coming on all night on its own. Then had to move to regular room for second night.Hotel staff was apologetic,Priceline was no help. The ONLY thing good about the stay was the company of my new bride.Goodbye Priceline, hello Hotels.com
It took me several years to return to this property and I am glad to be back. It went through quite a remodel and it just looks great. The room was wonderful and the staff was great. We all wore our masks and everyone was pretty amused about the whole situation. You can't beat this location as it is so close to KCI and I-29. You can get to anywhere from here. I hope to be back next year with or without a mask.
I am driving across the country alone, in the middle of a pandemic (I'm a nurse going to a hot spot). So, suddenly I am seeing the world a little differently. Things like whether the hotel has restaurant on site, or a lap length pool - those priorities are out the window. So, my current priorities are as stated in the title. I will add that the water pressure was excellent, room was really spacious, easy access to the parking lot (if you're alone and have to haul in multiple items, it matters), the windows open to air by 5" or so, the blind system is excellent. ALSO, you can PARK DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF YOUR WINDOW on 1st floor. Just adds assurance for those of us who have everything we own stuffed into a car :) Their grab and go (modified for the pandemic) was a piece of fruit, granola bar, water, and yogurt (? on last one). The staff were all exceptionally friendly. I had an excellent experience. Parking lot was extremely well lit for those who are traveling by moving van, and the hotel is away from town but right on the highway so it's convenient and you don't get any loiters. I was very happy with my stay. Oh, just in case it matters to others, you can hear the neighboring room (my neighbor was really loud) so if you are an extremely light sleeper then request one away from others.
We are both 'Diamond Select' members with BW. We were checked in by Zach, who was pretty much the worst front-desk employee we have encountered in 20+ years of traveling. He couldn't be more disrespectful, hostile, and unwelcoming if he tried. It's almost like he went to a special school to learn those skills. I seriously question the judgment of the person who hires someone like that to work at a hotel front-desk. The room was tolerable, but the AC/heat was extremely noisy. We had a choice of either turning it off and being cold, or leaving it on and being unable to sleep. Both the shuttle drivers we encountered were very pleasant and personable. Either of them would be a much, much better choice for the front-desk than Zach. Just give them some training and put them in charge of the front-desk, your guests will be so much happier. The main issue with the shuttle is that the timings are very inconvenient. There should be one every half hour, not every hour as they offer. Also, the shuttle van has only 5-6 seats, which likely causes problems during peak times. This is our second time at this hotel, and both times it has disappointed.
I recently stayed at this hotel and was very impressed, not just with the hotel but with all the staff. indoor pool, hot breakfast, great inexpensive bar, free parking, shuttle to airport, pets welcome!!
Car shuttle from airport was timely, staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very good. I will book this hotel in the future and highly recommend it to anyone interested in a clean, economical room.
Very nice room at an excellent price. I drove in from mid-Missouri on the night before an early morning flight. I got in late. There was no hassle checking in. Very nice staff. $5 a night for trip parking is unbeatable. Shuttle to the KCI airport -very convenient.
It was very close to the airport, close to a Target and close to a few eating places for choices. It has a pool, great breakfast selection and friendly staff. The room was clean and spacious. The beds and pillows were comfortable.
Hotel was nice. Pool, in my opinion was NOT heated. It was cold. Housekeeping could be a little better in the bathrooms. TV had some stupid surround sound ad thing that kept popping up on the side. How annoying that was.Breakfast should be eaten else where
This is my go to hotel when I am in Kansas City. They know what I like here and do their best to accomodate me. Was up for Thanksgiving and as always, I stay here. The only thing that needs to be updated in my opinion is the tv service. But I will always choose this hotel when I am there. Great guest services. Check in is easy. I am always happy.
The room we had was dusty, smelled musty. We swam in the pool which was really cold and had dirt debris floating. I turned down my sheets to find hair and dirt on them. We reported it and waited about 30 minutes before we went looking for housekeeping. We got sheets from her and changed them ourselves! One of the beds squeeked so every time she turned I could hear her. The beds weren't comfortable. The fridge froze my food which made it unedible. There's no adjusting it. The phone rang, we picked up but no one there. We hung up to check the voicemail and there was no dial tone! The phone didn't work. The aesthetics, especially in the bathroom needed some care. Rust? colored marks were on the door frame. No bananas or cream cheese for the bagel. Coffee was terrible. When I've gone into hotels, the front desk points out where everything is, we had to ask. On the plus side, it is close to the airport. The front desk did come to the room to check on the sheet situation. Parking was good. We were very disappointed!!
The night desk person was eating sunflower seeds and spitting into a water bottle as he processed my arrival. The bathtub drain stopper was broken and the hvac unit worked intermittently throughout the night.
The hotels is conveniently located close to the airport, but dining options are awful if you don't want meat in every single option. Too far from any ding options, so you are out of luck if you are hungry. I paid an outrageous amount for two slices of bread with piece of cheese.
We flew into Kansas City to begin a driving trip and basically needed a place to stay for 10 hours. Last year when we flew into Kansas City, we stayed at another hotel on Ambassador and had a stay with some issues. The beauty of competition is that there are always other players in the hotel market. Based on T.A. reviews, we chose the Best Western Plus this time and were not disappointed. We called the hotel from the airport baggage area and our driver was there within ten minutes. The front desk clerk was ready for us when we walked in. He was very friendly and quick to get us checked in. Everyone in the hotel was extremely friendly. The room was very inexpensive compared to others in the area. The room was very large with a very comfortable king bed and a sofa living area. The room looked as though it had been recently remodeled and was very clean. Our room had everything we needed for our short stay. The A/C worked great and was very quiet. The only concerns I have about the room were the pillows and the sink water pressure. The pillows were these small squares and were a little uncomfortable. The water pressure in the sink was weak which made shaving a chore, but the water pressure in the shower was great. The complimentary breakfast was very good with a nice variety of both hot and cold foods. Check-out was quick and easy. The shuttle back to the airport was a breeze as the driver took us to the rental facility to pick up our rental car. Just a really nice stay at a reasonable price. Would stay here again!
Clean clean clean Stayed for one day trip breakfast was amazing shuttle is amazing and even my wife thought it was the cleanest room she ever stayed in staff is super friendly thank you thank you Cool it's great I just didn't have a chance to swim in it I think the best part was the shuttle service picking us up at the airport and taking us back on our plane left
This was my first stay and I picked and selected with credit card points thus it was a 3rd party reservation. These type reservations tend to be an issue at times. We had a revision and both the hotel and credit card folks were a bit challenging. I personally did not like the attitude of the front desk person who put a bad taste in my mouth. In the morning the clerk was not really better as I was dropping the key and off and he advised to just drop the key off at the desk without asking if I needed a receipt or not. The room itself was clean but nothing special and although the breakfast was similar in this level of lodging it was uneventful. Being pretty basic next time I will just pick another location when I need a room in the future. Best note is that the hotel was very close to the airport but there are plenty of other hotels in the same area.
Nice place to stay and good breakfast with a large variety of items to eat. Parking was limited for a pickup with a small trailer.. The room was nice and clean. Didn't use the pool or fitness, but they looked clean.
Check in went quick. I made reservations early. Room was very clean. We stayed for 2 nights. Pool was small but nice. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Lots of restaurants and stores around. It's was a great stay
Close to airport, easy access to food and out door space. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was standard motel food but well managed and plentiful. Room was clean, carpeting and elevator could use improvement.
This property was so clean and the decor very nice. The team was welcoming and friendly. We had been driving 12 hours that day and they rushed our check in, gave us a room that was easy to access, and pointed out our food options for us. They took great care.
We stayed in a king suite. When I imagine a suite I think bed in a separate room with an adjacent seating area. This was just one ginormous room. The other strange thing was the absence of the normal hotel room amenities like an alarm clock, microwave, or even a coffee maker. There was a hair dryer and oodles of USB charging ports. The blackout curtains were very effective if you need darkness to sleep. We did not take advantage of the breakfast because our schedule did not permit so I can't vouch for the quality.
This is a great place if you are traveling for business. The rooms are very clean and the staff is good as well. Check in was easy. I didn't use any of the other amenities so I can't really speak to them.
This is a nice hotel with a good breakfast. Check in was smooth and uneventful. The room was nice. The area looked well maintained and was clean. Hats off to the maids! The staff are friendly and the facilities are clean, I had a nice stay, thank you!
I have found the Best Western Airport hotels in Kansas City and Wichita, Kansas to be a nice and convenient place to stay when traveling. The airport locations allow you to leave your car for a cheaper price than the airport parking lot. They begin shuttle service at 4:15 AM and will pick you up after you get your baggage. Clean rooms, nice breakfast and a shuttle to the airport make this an ideal place to stay!
So we booked a room with 2 beds for 2 adults 2 children. We were told at checkin that all of those rooms are full. We'd have to have a rolm with 1 bed. This is for 2 adults and two teenage boys. Not going to work. The person who checked us in was very unhelpful, and the other clerk wad just flirting with a teenage girl the entire time and didnt care either. 5 minutes into stay and I won't be back. BTW, we were told it is sold out and there are 3 cars total in the parking lot as I type this....
Bathroom ceiling had fallen into the shower Need I say more. Room was not very clean. Took them too long to find another room which wasn't much better. Luckily I discovered the collapsed ceiling the night before and not the morning of
We came in late and found that there was a fresh, sticky mess on the floor. I reported it to the front desk. The front desk offered to put us in another room but it was late. We put a towel over it and had no problem living with it for a night. Other than that the room was very comfortable.
Who knew an airport hotel could be so nice---and have a restaurant/ bar with a happy hour? Plus there is a free shuttle to and from the airport and the drivers are good. The room was phenomenal (I love the contemporary decor). I wish I could have stayed for more than one night. I am not sure how far away the hotel is from the city center and will look that up next time I want to go to Kansas City.
Let me start by saying that we have stayed at this property at least 4 times before and they've all been good. Maybe it was just a bad trip this time. As far as the basics go, this hotel gets them all correct. It's clean, the front desk staff is attentive and helpful, and there is plenty of space. In addition, thanks to a fairly recent remodel, there is an ABUNDANCE of USB ports in the room to charge devices. I think there were at least 6 in the room, which is fantastic. We checked in for our 2 night stay on a Friday night and there were teenage girls running up and down our hallway when we got to our room. There must've been a team or school group of some sort. The room was great, but the A/C unit didn't want to stay on (small complaint). Even though it has an “Always On” setting, it kept shutting on and off. It's great when it's on, but “Always On” doesn't mean always on. It was more like auto. Beginning at 5:40 am on Saturday morning, girls were yelling at each other and slamming room doors for at least 60 straight minutes. It incumbered our sleep a little, as you could imagine. I know this isn't really the hotels fault, but it was still aggravating. We left our room to get breakfast (which was excellent as usual) at around 845 am. They had eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and a waffle maker. They also had French vanilla creamer for the coffee, which is extremely important! We got back to the hotel at about 5 pm, and we did not receive turn down service. No one came to do anything. We didn't make a big deal about it, just got some more towels because we didn't want to wait for someone to kick us out of our room while we waited. When we've stayed before, we never experienced this. I've stayed at hotels where if you didn't take turn down service, you got a discount or money off resort fees, but we didn't get anything like that. Maybe our room just got looked over. All that being said, I would still stay at this hotel again, because this is the first negative we've had at this hotel in almost half a dozen stays. Hopefully just some freak things.
As soon as I walked into the door, I knew I was at a great place! The front desk clerk, Rayven, was friendly and caring. I explained my grandson and I had come up from Branson as he was leaving on the airplane at 6 am to head back to Arizona. I was concerned as I had a 4 hour drive back home later the next morning. He immediately offered me a late check out and welcomed me to stop by at the front desk early before we left for the airport if we would like a bit of breakfast. Such a wonderful young man <3
The hotel room at this property left a lot to be desired. Door handle to room clearly broken before we arrived (I've never seen that before). Air conditioner barely worked, very noisy. Horrible mattesses. Housekeeping came into our room without permission at 9 am - even after we were given a late checkout of 12 noon. They even came back at 11 am (but knocked). We changed hotels as a result.
The Best Western Plus rivals the Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn, and Marriott properties for cleanliness and amenities while delivering at a much cheaper price. A convenient location near the airport and local business. I recommend the Best Western Plus for those who are seeking the best value.
I stayed at this hotel for the last 4 nights. On the first morning I blew a fuse in the bathroom and lost power in half of the bathroom. I reported it to the front desk but when I returned at 10pm nothing had been done. I reported it again on the 2nd morning to the same front desk employee and again she said she "would write it down" and again nothing was done. I stopped reporting it after that because I realized it wasn't a priority. I spent 4 days without lights in the bathroom and couldn't use the hairdryer. As a customer service employee myself I don't understand not caring about your guests comfort.
Check-in went well. Our room was very spacious and clean. We liked having a mini frig and microwave. We were able to keep our dog with us. There were no pet smells. The breakfast was very nice. I will definitely stay there again.
Stayed one night, had a very early morning flight. Good location, friendly staff, nice room, comfortable bed and pillows and not noisy. The only issue was that the shower water pressure seemed low. Enjoyed drinks and dinner at the Bistro. The lady tending to both drinks and food was courteous and efficient. Free parking and WiFi.
Was up in Kansas City for the July 4th fun. Needed a nice cozy quiet place to stay away from the noise of the city. I can always depend on this place. The grandchildren I had with me got to sleep in peace without being awaken from the fireworks noise. Always a go to spot for me.
The room was nice, bed comfortable and pillows ok. However, the toliet in my room wouldn't flush. I reported this in the morning and I figured it'd be fixed. I didn't use it till very late in the evening and it still wouldn't flush. I ask again with a little complaining in it. Once again it wasn't fixed! I had to ask three times for it to be fixed. Also the clientele are a bit to be desired. There was a lot of running up and down tbe halls and door slamming. You would think they'd put a brake on the door so it wouldn't slam shut at 3 in the morning! I will not ever go to another Best Western.
The room is great has air conditioning and is so clean. Staff are friendly and courteous. But went to the Bistro for beers and food and there is no air conditioning...and then the beer was warm. It is in the 90s...what gives with no air where people will gather for breakfast.
We stayed during a business trip and found the hotel nice. When checking in, I found I booked the wrong dates but was accommodated for the evening. The one thing I found odd was that the workers all seemed related and would interrupt checking you in to talk to their family member that was there working as well. It seemed like it was not well-staffed. In the bar/restaurant area, people would leave without paying because there was not any staff available. For breakfast, the food was depleted and no one was aware or around to bring more. They definitely needed more help.
I have mixed feelings on this hotel. The good things were the comfortable bed, nice breakfast, front desk person on Saturday and the price. Bad things were having to use a rock for a door stop between the pool and outside patio(to avoid being locked out of the building), security lock for entrance doors was not used, no latch on outside gate,(anyone could enter)bartender not at the bar( attending to other things), really needs some cleaning. Moldy looking stuff on white fence on patio and the same dirty towels stayed on chairs on the patio for two days.So if you are not super picky, this is a decent place to stay.
Upon arrival at the hotel I discovered that there were no parking spaces available for my car or my sons car (we paid for 2 rooms). We were told to park at a "sister property" and they would shuttle us back to the hotel and then back to get our cars in the morning. Also, I was able to connect to the wifi but there was no internet available.
If you are looking for a cheap place to stay close to the airport this hotel will work. The staff were efficient. Rooms were clean and modern. The free breakfast provided was fairly good and there is a nice lounge area to eat in. Biggest complaint is with the sound the doors make when closing. We heard slamming doors all night. Shuttle service to and from the airport worked well for our needs. Be aware of the hours if you are coming / going late at night or early morning.
Limited parking. It will cost you $7 per day except for the day you stay. Shuttle is at 15 after the hour. Example: 7:15 AM; 3:15 PM, etc. We LIKE the smaller-than-usual pillows others complain about. Comfortable sleep. Plentiful and spacious breakfast.
I stayed at this BW Plus for one night before an early morning flight. Check-In was well done & staff were friendly and helpful. Airport shuttle staff were also great. Room was clean and comfortable, everything worked properly & had good water flow in the shower. Newer style lighting created a nice atmosphere in the room. Included Wi-Fi worked just fine. The hotel appears to have had some recent remodeling & is being kept in good condition. I will stay here again if I return to KCI.
Just a stop over for the night. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were courteous and efficient. A very good breakfast to start us on our journey.
Poor shuttle service! One van once each hour! Tried to call ahead to reserve, but got put on hold for 10 minutes and gave up. Tried to reserve spots when we arrived: all booked up for 4:15 am and 5:15 am. Only one can, running once an hour but right next to an airport?? Very disappointing. Bed was comfortable. Pillows were awfully fat. Couldn't use them. Got neck aches. Weird for a BW. Have always used Best Western...maybe not so much anymore. Should have checked reviews before booking this one!
The staff when extremely helpful, especially when we called to see if we had left something in our room or on the shuttle. They were friendly and kind. The hotel rooms and foyer were very clean. They provided a hot breakfast for us even though we caught the 4:15 am shuttle to the airport. I highly recommend this hotel.
The Best Western front desk staff, housekeeping staff, and breakfast area staff all work hard to provide guests with the best possible hotel experience. We are among Best Western's most satisfied guests.
The hotel was clean and welcoming. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the desk person asked if I had a preference of 2nd or 3rd floor. When I said that it didn't matter, he said that he would put me on the 3rd because it was quieter. Breakfast was good and had lots of options - being gluten-free, it's hard to find choices at some hotels where most of the selections involve waffles, muffins and bagels. The airport shuttle driver was very friendly and easy to talk to. I will be making other trips to Kansas City in the future and would definitely stay there again.
I only stay at Best Western Hotels because of the comfortable beds. My family sleep on memory foam beds and so far Best Western Hotel is the only hotel in its price range that provides us with a good nights sleep away from home. Plus, their pillows and beds smell clean and fresh. At other hotels, the beds have been hard (for me) with bedding that smelled faintly of sweat. I don't have those problems at Best Western.
We were here one night to catch an early flight. We've stayed in quite a few of the hotels around the airport and this place was ok on our last trip. However, this time the experience was way below average, even for a BW. First, the desk clerks acted busy when we walked into the lobby and did not make eye contact. One was on the phone and the other was staring down. After about 10 minutes we finally got checked in. I had done the online pre-checkin but that didn't seem to save any time or paperwork. When we got into our room, there was a dirty towel in the bathtub, probably left behind by housekeeping. The room was hot so we went to turn the A/C on and there were ants crawling all around the windowsill and the unit. So I called the desk to ask for a new room. I was put on permanent hold. So we walked to the lobby where again we had to wait to be acknowledged. Because of the poor service I asked to cancel our reservation and go find another hotel. The clerk refused and said I had booked through a 3rd party which wasn't true (I used the BW website). She also had charged my credit card for parking and said she would not refund that. Instead of arguing, we decided to ask for another room. The second room was warm and despite turning the thermostat way down we couldn't get the room cooled much below 74. There were no bugs in this room but the mattresses were very hard and pillows uncomfortable so we did not get a good night's sleep. The bathroom wasn't clean with hairs left behind. Towels were thin and scratchy. I stay in BWs around the country as they are usually good values but this hotel is a very poor representation of the brand and I advise travelers to stay at one of the other many hotels near the airport.
Clean hotel, room was comfortable and employees were friendly and helpful. Needed a place to stay near the airport and this location was perfect. Will stay here again if need a place in this area. Great hotel and the price was good too.
The staff greeted us upon arrival and we were told of the amenities and such. The room was clean, the headboard has about 2 inches of dust on it. There was no tv guide for the channels. The room had extra towels in it. The breakfast was a great variety of hot and cold food. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and accommodating if we needed extra stuff. I was very much impressed with the hotel and staff. We will be staying here again soon.
Front desk makes up stories, as they said, "we have no a/c for this whole month as its little cold outside, instead of accepting that their ain't working. Gave me another room after an hour and same thing again.
Room was great. Got a king bed, so lots of room. Even had a settee. Breakfast was great. Manager even put out breakfast as we checked out at 4:15 in the morning. WiFi was fast. Room rate was true value for the amenities and convenience to the airport and access to the highway.
An easy 3 mile drive from the airport. Ample parking, nice facility, with a helpful and courteous staff. It is not located on a busy route and has a very quiet location. It serves a nice buffet breakfast for its guests and has a small bar with sandwich service until 11 pm.
It was a surreal stay and not in a good way. The shuttle took forever to get us at the airport. When we finally arrived it took forever for the guests ahead of us to check in. Only one clerk. Then it took forever for us to check in. The clerk had no clue how to process a Best Western Travel Card (basically their in-house gift card). The "Bistro" is a joke... the nastiest, saddest looking food I've ever seen. While waiting for this "food" to be made I saw why the shuttle took so long. The driver apparently disappears and no one can find him when it's time to pick someone up. The room was noisy: the window was broken and didn't shut all the way so it was cold and you heard the highway. Through the door to the hallway you could hear every noise out there. And the floor was not level or something... so when you walk near the TV the floor creaks very loud. Also found a penny on the floor... makes you wonder what else the housekeeper missed? And there was lots of brown stains on the outside of the toilet bowl. Gross!! Never did get the billing issues resolved... and never did get the phone call promised about the billing. The GM ignored 2 emails I sent him about all this. There are many options near the Kansas City Airport in many price ranges. You can definitely do much better.
I travel a lot between Sydney (Australia) and the mid west - my preferred flight is Sydney to Dallas and Dallas to KC. By the time I arrive, it is usually later afternoon (after some 23 hours in airports and planes, so a relaxing night's sleep is what is called for. The Best Western is clean, close to the airport and well appointed - there are plenty of eating opportunities (and a few drinking ones) close by. The staff are loverly and I know I will keep going back
I stayed in the king size with a whirlpool. Great tub and comfortable bed! Very happy there was a refrigerator in the room! Also enjoyed the free HBO! I really enjoyed the strawberry Belgium waffles! That was a nice treat!
stayed here before flying out of KCI The staff was welcoming and very enjoyable. The room was nice and clean. The little Bistro had good drinks. The food was not great but we didn't go hungry and saved us from having to go out in a snow storm to eat.
When checking us in the front desk confirmed that as BW Rewards members we would be allowed to check out at 12 Noon, and duly noted it on the reservation and on the housekeeping sheet. Of course, the next morning around 10:50 AM housekeeping started knocking loudly on our door, and kept knocking and knocking relentlessly (they just wouldn't give up!), in spite of their being a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door! I was in the bathroom and could not answer, and finally they just BARGED IN without permission. I'm sorry, but what is the sign on the door for, then??? When I checked out at 12 Noon the front desk reconfirmed that indeed I did have a 12 Noon checkout noted in their records. Ridiculous! I'd give this place zero stars if I could...
Front desk was friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and allergen-free, I did not wake up with a splitting sinus headache as I do in many hotel rooms. Breakfast area was surprisingly elegant and the breakfast buffet had many choices such as burritos that you don't find at other hotels. The price was reasonable too. I would stay here again.
we needed a place to stay to catch an early morning flight out of KC after business there. This hotel was perfect. Great price. We ate at the Bistro. Yummy. Good rooms. Wonderful staff. Airport shuttle. We will stay here again, if we need a place near the airport.
Just had dinner at New Bristo in Bestwestern Plus lobby. Great addition to great hotel. It's only been open a few a few days but the staff is doing a awesome job . Always stay at this hotel on my way home.
I enjoyed the bath and breakfast. Good pizza delivery nearby. It would be nice of they had a netflix or smart tv option. 30 minutes from arrowhead. Close to airport. Overall we were very happy with our stay.
There was construction that wasn't supposed to be active on Sunday, they immediately addressed the noise and had them stop progress so we could sleep. Our neighbors Sunday night were noisy, the front desk called them and went to their door to make sure they kept it down so we could sleep, and they refunded us for our stay on top of giving us a free night at any Best Western hotel.
This hotel is always a great place to stay. I love the location and the facility is great. Had a couple bumps in my stay this time, but other than that, it is great. I will be returning again within the weeks to come.
Have stayed at this hotel twice. Convenient location near airport. No restaurants close by but almost anything you can think of just a few miles away. They are in the process of remodeling (a point we were unaware of the first visit) but it really did not affect our stay. We were greeted both visits by Callie at the front desk.. She is super-friendly and helpful. Our room was clean both times and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty standard hot, complimentary fare. Pool was closed on our second visit. Everyone we dealt with at front desk was wonderful. One evening I asked for an extra blanket as we had a couch in the room and I wanted to curl up an read. The lady went into the laundry room and got me a warm one right out of the dryer!. On our second check out early a.m. we were given some fruit and bottles of water . Will stay here again when we next visit KC!
Attempted to pay with a BW gift card. Was told my credit card had been charged and a simple refund to the credit card and charge to the gift card couldn't be done. I could discuss with the manager in the morning. I was in Florida before the manager arrived. The manager was supposed to call me. The was on November 30th, 2018 and still have not received a call on December 8th, 2018.
This was a nice place to stay, clean, great beds for a good night sleep.. Easy access to motel , Very friendly staff. We enjoyed a good hot breakfast. We will defimitely stay again when traveling through Kansas City.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable. They transported me at no charge to and from the hotel and anywhere I wished to go within a five mile radius. The staff at the desk were very accommodating and assisted me in many ways. I highly recommend this hotel.
It was everything we expected in a Best Western plus; clean, comfortable, quiet room. Full hot breakfast bar, which was also well stocked. The dining area, and the entire hotel were kept in very good condition. A special thanks to Callie Huckabey at the front desk, who checked us in. We had just come in from a long trip, and she was very patient and accommodating. She got us checked in quickly, and was very courteous and professional.
This was my second stay at this location. Got a good price on Expedia. Great location near the Kansas City airport. I'm an older woman traveling alone and this location feels safe and secure. Good hot breakfast available. Only negative to location is that there are no restaurants nearby if you want to pop out for a quick meal. Two nearby gas stations with convenience stores, though, where you can purchase a variety of snacks.
really easy check in, clean spacious room , super nice staff. shuttle service within 5 miles . Would defiantly recommend to friends and family! Close to airport and lots of restaurants, shopping, bars.
We stayed here before an early morning flight. Check in was easy and the room was a decent size with a small refrigerator and microwave. There is an airport shuttle and we were told the shuttle would also take us to a variety of restaurants and other locations upon request. There is no on site restaurant but there is a typical breakfast offering. The Hilton next door has a restaurant but other than that you will have to drive to get to any type of food.. Very short trip to the airport.
David checked us in at the front desk. He is the general manager and he was most helpful and friendly. We have a very early flight in the morning and their shuttle to the airport starts at 4:15 a.m. which corresponds well with our flight time. We are leaving our car here in their parking lot while we are gone and the cost is a reasonable six dollars per day. We have stayed here before and the rooms are clean and roomy. We recommend this hotel.
Overall, the hotel was great. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was delicious. Then the fun began. I brought my breakfast up to my room and the door wouldn't open. I got a new card. No luck. Cole came up and tried his master key card. Nope. Waited for day manager Cathie and had the same results. Finally, out came the crowbar and they opened the door. I learned the battery can go totally dead and can lock you either inside or outside. Yikes, However, the employees were professional and did their best throughout a bad situation. Cathie adjusted my bill for me at checkout. I would stay there again.
Great shuttle service to and from the airport. Nice room with microwave and refrigerator. Good breakfast. Convenient office for printing boarding passes. Convenient elevator; quiet hallways. Good restaurant near hotel for dinner meal.
Arrived at airport and used the "hotel phone" at the airport to have the shuttle come and pick me up. They were pretty quick and the driver was very nice. Checked in quickly at reception, but once in our room not impressed. Very dark in the room and the bathroom. I went to open the window and there was a large dead flying bug of some sort stuck in the screen. The furniture seemed dated and definitely seen better days. The air conditioner worked well, but when I went to adjust the temperature, the cover fell off. It popped back on right away, but the unit was pretty noisy. We did like we could park right outside our room, which was on the main floor, and so that was handy. The complimentary breakfast was nice with the standard fare offered. Wish they had bottles of water at breakfast, but you had to go to a machine to purchase. There are loads of airport hotels in the area, and I would not choose to stay at this one again.
We arrived at the Best Western Kansas City Airport East on July 23, 2018 right around 8:30 pm. Upon arrival the front desk clerk greeted us and then another guest at the hotel came into the lobby telling us she was having a heart attack. At this point the desk clerk lost all semblance of professionalism. She acted like she didn't know what to do. I told her she should probably dial 911. The person that was suffering the heart attack went to sit in the lobby and my daughter went to sit with her to try to keep the heart attack victim calm. The desk clerk told me that 911 had put her on hold so I dialed 911 on my cell phone, I got a busy signal, but I kept redialing until someone finally answered. Meanwhile, more guests were piling into the lobby to register for the night. The desk clerk was beside herself. Instead of coming out from behind the desk to assist the victim or addressing the line of future guests, she stayed behind the desk saying she had to call her boss to report the incident. And she stayed on the phone ignoring everyone else in the lobby. Finally, paramedics arrived and took the heart attack woman out to their ambulance, after which the clerk calmed down enough to get us into our room. The room was nice enough. Clean. The bed was comfortable. We got up to go down to breakfast at 8:40. Breakfast was supposed to end at 9:00. We thought that would be plenty of time to eat. But no! Breakfast was being put away starting at 8:45! What? Usually we have been told "Hey, we are going to start putting breakfast away, so if you want anything else, go get it." The weirdest thing is there were lots of left over gravy, biscuits, sausage. What were they going to do with those leftovers? Reheat them? The other family we were with asked if they could hurry and make a waffle at 8:50 and the worker said, "No, sorry, I have already unplugged it so I can put it away by 9:00." It was seriously weird. Even the juice dispenser was gone by 8:45. I asked the worker if she would wait until we had finished eating to finish cleaning up, she said "No, it was against the hotel policy." Ok. Well. Whatever.
Hotel was fine! Only real complaint I have is the smell of the room! It had a very strong mildew/ mold smell. I imagine it was because of the window air. Had mentioned my issue to a worker due to my son being extremely allergic to mildew and nothing was done !
This is a nice hotel. Check is was easy and the staff was friendly. Our room was clean and the beds weren't bad. The breakfast had lots of options. We were on the second floor and did hear people in the room above us most of the night. The hotel is off the interstate but it was surprisingly quiet. You don't get the hustle and bustle of the city here at all. There is also a pond just across the street with a walking/running trail around it. One downside is the gym. At first glance it looks just fine but you go to use all of the equipment and it is broken. I know hotels don't put a lot of money into their gyms because they don't get used very often, but if you say you have a gym them you should maintain it. The gym is not a deal breaker and we would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. Great for families, singles, or couples.
We stayed here two nights during our 4000+ mile family road trip. We took the advise of previous travelers and requested not to be placed in a 3rd floor room. This was apparently a good choice as the front desk clerk said they have problems cooling those rooms properly. Pros - • The staff (with the exception of one person) were quite friendly. • The breakfast was enjoyable with a decent variety. • A laundry facility was available (one washer/one dryer). • The room and bathroom were both quite clean. Cons - • The walls are quite thin... which meant we could hear a lot from out in the halls, other rooms, and outside (airplanes and cars). • The track on the treadmill in the gym slips, making it dangerous to run on. • The room, although furnished well, was quite cramped for our family of 4. • Although we did not need it, the button for the first floor in the elevator was not working.
Stayed here on a quick trip for work, worked out great that it was so close to the airport! They had a large pool and a decent size workout space, they also had a large business center, and a meeting room available. Best of all a free shuttle to the airport!
We booked this hotel to take advantage of the wonderful free parking that the hotel offers per Trip Advisor, and we get here and parking is NOT free. They charge $6 a day to leave vehicle here, but it's a “free shuttle”
On a recent stay, my husband checked in first. As another reviewer mentioned, it was on the third floor on a hot summer night. After the air didn't bring the temp down, he called for maintenance. The maintenance guy checked a few things, then said he couldn't fix it. They brought him the key to another room. (Also on the third floor.) I arrived on a late flight. When we got to the hotel room around 1 am, it was hot in the room. It got somewhat better as the trip went on. The room was clean. The crew failed to clean our room one day. The hotel is okay. I would probably choose somewhere else next time.
Stayed there and would recommend it. The pool is open 24 hours I believe? The kiddos loved that! The rooms were spacious and clean. The laundry facilities clean and easy to use. Very convenient to the airport less than 10 minutes away. Would recommend it to anyone.
My family & I had an EXCELLENT visit here. The staff was absolutely great, especially the GM, David. He really went above & beyond to make sure we had a pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a must stay.
Very nice stay while in town for a conference. Very comfortable and quiet. There was a discrepancy in my reservation, but all was taken care of quickly and professionally. I highly recommend this business
If your looking for a place to sleep and you don't want to spend a lot of money then you MIGHT want to stop here. If they try to put you on the third floor in the summer you better set the thermostat to 60 degrees and go out to an air conditioned restaurant for about three hours.
This hotel was great, especially for an early morning trip to the airport. We turned in our rental car and were picked up by the shuttle and taken to the hotel late in the evening and the shuttle was there early the next morning at 6 to take us to the airport. Hotel room was lovely and beds were great!
Our check in lady was very friendly and helped us get all settled in. She gave us good tips on using the rewards program. With the air on I didn't hear the airplanes. Everything was clean and well kept.
We had an early flight so stayed here one night. The free hotel shuttle leaves twice an hour, but if that time schedule doesn't work a taxi or ride won't be expensive. Like most BW+ this hotel was better than basic accommodations but not luxury. There were 2 people working at the desk when we checked in and both were nice and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The only weird part was that they designed the closet to be right outside the bathroom door so if the door is open you can't get into the closet (and vice versa). I've stayed in probably 10 different hotels around the KC airport and this was a great value for the money and will definitely stay again.
We have stayed at this hotel before and it has definitely gone down hill. The hotel is becoming worn looking. Security was an issue. The outside door by the elevator was always open because the lock was broken and it would not close. Two wet cleaning rags were left on our bathroom floor. The breakfast was cold and they did not quickly replace items that were gone. We will not be back!
The coordinators of the training I went to said that the staff was the best they'd ever worked with, very helpful and friendly! The rooms were clean and comfortable, had all the amenities that I needed, the breakfast area was fantastic with lots of choices, the hot food was hot and cold food were cold. Overall, an excellent stay. I am grateful!
Although not a destination hotel, this was a fine place with a very nice staff. The location was pretty much perfect to the airport, and next to the freeway to allow quick, about 20 minute, access to downtown Kansas City. If you are looking for a resort, not here, but if you are looking for a comfortable, clean place to sleep with a decent breakfast in a convenient location at a reasonable price...this would be a great choice.
Really enjoyed the hotel overall. Clean, loved the pool where the four of us held our own water aerobics class! Only problem whatsoever was a missing light bulb in one of the lamps and the desk clerk couldn't help since maintenance wasn't on duty. More of an aggravation than real problem.
The location to the airport is perfect. But everything else was just average at best. The doors slamming was a real issue. If you are a light sleeper, stay away. The rooms are dated but clean. Breakfast again average. I've had better at other Best Western Plus.
Had garenteed reservation here for two friends traveling together in April, one night for easy access to airport as well as free breakfast and free shuttle, as we had flights at two different times. I had never been to KC area before. Arrived late, after 9 pm. Thought it was a little odd that clerk had her mid sized dog behind the desk with her, and this made me wonder how secure area was as two women traveling alone. Checked in and went to look at room before bringing in bags ( a long time practice of mine!). Hotel was obviously not new, and looked in need of carpet replacement and some updating, but could have been worse. Found room, opened door, turned on light, and entered room, I turned to close door and found BUGS (Roaches!!) running down the inside of door. That was it for me, looked no further, told my friend we were not staying, and we both went back to desk. I told them what I had found, and requested to be let out of my reservation with no charges to my credit card.... she did not argue at all ( actually said almost nothing). She unregistered me, said there would be no charges, and we left! We went next door to Hilton, told them our circumstances, and got a good clean room there. Hotels with obvious cockroaches are not for me, who knows what I would have found ( or brought home with me) if I'd looked further. Yuck. Sorry, but I would NOT Recommend this hotel. Reservation was made through AAA, and I have reviewed there as well.
We stayed over for the night before flying out on vacation. We left our vehicle at hotel and used hotel airport shuttle and were very pleased with the service. Hotel rooms were clean and breakfast was good.
Travel quite a bit and some of Best Western inn are great not this one. Everything was clean but rooms transmitted noise. Included breakfast was poor compared to peers-no utensils out of most food early. Checkout was at 11, we were little late but 11:10 pounding on door yelling checkout in broken English and calling the manager. Advice plenty of local hotels chose the competition
The exterior didn't look like the pictures online but the inside was nice and the staff was very nice. Good breakfast selection. Close to a lot of things! Check in was easy and so was the check out process!
I am a happy Best Western customer. This one was very average. It was noisy, no express check out, or upgrades offered. I didn't see an employee in the breakfast area. The price and location were good.
This hotel is located right off I435 and easy to get to get in and out. We were pulling a boat and there was plenty of room to park it in the large parking lot. The hotel was recently renovated (no carpet which was a huge plus) and has reasonable rates. The rooms were large, very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Oh, and the hotel is pet friendly. I would definitely stay here again!
This was one of the best trips because of the very friendly staff, clean and worth what you pay. I would highly recommend this location and will stay there again. Thanks David and everyone else for going above and beyond!!!
This place is close to the airport and serves as a great resting point before or after the long haul from Sydney. There are great delivery food services and restaurants close. The staff have recommended some great meal delivery options and the place is clean and tidy.
If all I was rating was the staff and their trying to make it a good stay it would be a 5. The bed was great and the 7 floor room was great i loved the pillows, a upgrade from most. Then on the other hand the 7th floor was the only floor open I was worried about making it up every time I road the elevator. Just staying one night and I saw that it is under construction but no hot water that morning is a big deal. I had asked that Best Western reservations that were ever they send me have a hot breakfast. They told me that night after we were in the room that the health department had shut them down from serving breakfast. What they gave for me and my wife was a breakfast bar one, a quarter size muffin one and three bottles of water. Did not get that. The Pool was not open. You have nothing but a room to offer at this time.
I was disappointed with this hotel . First - when I checked in - there was no one in front office . I had to call to get help - this is a good start of staying here . Second - the gal who checked us in the room was not friendly - she didn't greet with warm welcome to hotel . She was very cold and looked like she wanted work somewhere else- I was disappointed with the way I was “ welcome “ here at hotel .
If all i was ratting was the staff and there trying to make it a good stay it would be a 5. The bed was great and the 7 floor room was great i loved the pillows, a upgrade from most. Then on the other hand the 7th floor was the only floor open I was worried about making it up every time I road the elevator. We had an early flight the next day so we stayed the night as it close to the airport. Bad move! The hotel looks okay but don't expect to have any sleep at all. You'll hear noises from cars on the road. The walls are so thin that we were so disturbed by the footsteps and the running up & downs from upstair neighbors & the shutting of doors felt like a slam! We would never stay here again.
The hotel was a little on the pricy side for the accommodations but at least it was clean and in a decent area. It's a bit further away from down town that I would have liked but it was cheaper than the downtown hotels. The toilet seat was messed up which caused it to be uncomfortable. The breakfast was “edible” which is on par with most hotels I have stayed in. The indoor pool was “heated” but still freezing.
Room was adequate. Bed was hard. Breakfast on Sunday seemed to end earlier than other places I have stayed. Hotel was just noisy. You could hear walking down the the hall, all doors closing. My room was adjoining to another and there was some sort of a disturbance at 3:15am. It woke me. I heard yelling and cussing. It sounded like someone was running and then fell. I reported to the front desk. The didn't see anything on hall cameras. They came up and told them to quiet down. I later heard them call and ambulance and it soon came and left with a man on a stretcher. It was terrifying. I also noticed that all side doors did not require your key card. You could just open it and walk in. There was no parking available. I kept circling the lot and someone finally pulled out. I didn't rest well and didn't feel safe so I will not be returning.
Upon check-in, Alexis and Amanda welcomed us with warm smiles and a thank you for coming to the Best Western. We had a great conversation and provided with 2 welcome bags of 2 bottles of water and snacks for the 4 of us. The room was clean and exactly what was requested - a low floor with 2 queen beds. Breakfast was good to - hot oatmeal, the ability to make fresh waffles in addition to hot eggs and sausage along with other items to make breakfast easy and relaxing. We will definitely be back thanks to Alexis and Amanda.
Living in the PNW where the BW Plus brand is an upgrade from the standard BW, I was disappointed in this hotel. The staff were the best thing about it. However, the room was less than I expected. Very basic with cheap soap and shower amenities. The coffee maker and coffee supplies were also low budget and the coffee came out like water. The breakfast was so underwhelming that I just grabbed granola bars ( a nice grab n go feature) and a coffee to go. The coffee at the breakfast room was much better than that in the room. Noise was an issue. When the person in the room next to me came and went, it sounded like they were coming into my room. Airplane noise was worse than expected, plus the highway is right behind the hotel too. Parking was limited. When I had to extend my stay a night, I booked elsewhere.
Best Western Plus is definitely trying to compete with Hampton Inn. This one even had duvets similar to what they have in a Hampton Inn. It was clean, comfortable, and excellent breakfast with a lot of choices.
We spent a couples evening out here. The room was as advertised and very clean. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of cold and hot options. The spa tub made for a relaxing evening. The only thing I would complain at all about is the noise from other rooms. We could hear a little too much noise from the room next to us. I would recommend this hotel. Location is a convenient hop to the city.
Near Airport. Offers shuttle service to Airport. Offers long term parking for a fee. Stayed over night to get ahead of possible weather problems. Weatherman predicted heavy snow and possible ice. Weatherman was wrong.
Great hotel with great staff and services. I would recommend this hotel for business or leisure. We needed a place close to the airport and would allow us to leave our car between air trips and they accomodated our request.
Nice hotel, comfy bed, the floor could have been vacuumed better, the breakfast was good, except the bread was hard. The bed was comfortable, the room was modern. The swimming pool was nice. There was a nice computer center with free printing that is handy.
This trip I was helping a friends sister get her disabled military husband closer to a smaller VA by driving their truck with a trailer to their new home in Missouri. After dropping off the truck I was flying back to Florida the next day, Best Western had free shuttles to restaurants and the airport which made it easier to get something to eat and to the airport when you have no vehicle. The rooms are always nice and comfy beds with great staff at check in and check out and the shuttle drivers. Best deal for the money.
We got a pretty decent deal on a room through Trip Advisor. We decided to go to KCMO to celebrate New Year's. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. Our room was quite cozy. It was a nice stay. The breakfast was good the first morning, and then it was sort of blah after that.
Was a nice stay except for the wild screaming children playing in the hallway on my floor. But that's not the hotels fault, it was the rude unattending parents to allow it, even after speaking to them
My husband had a flight at 6am, and let them know when he checked in the night before. They said the shuttle would be ready at 4:15. He got down to the lobby and waited, and their OWN SHUTTLE DRIVER did NOT show up. My husband HAD to be on that flight, in order to get back to work. There is nothing more stressful than knowing you are 2 miles from the airport but cannot get there because of someone else's irresponsibility. We have stayed at this hotel a few times because we are frequent travelers and we WILL NOT use this hotel anymore. We cannot risk missing our flights because their shuttle driver is too lazy to come to work.
It was so noisy that at 3 a.m. I relocated to another room because the staff did not know how to get the room next to me quieted down. The staff at the front desk was more interested in trying to argue with me than assist.
Looking for an inexpensive place to stay with shuttle service to the Airport, this is the answer to your problems, and they have an indoor pool, to relax before the flight. First shuttle out at 4am is in time for any early departure, only a couple miles to the airport.
The gluten-free and non-dairy options on the breakfast menu were the best I have seen. Other options for my companion included a great selection. Very comfortable bed helped ease the effects of back pain. Friendly and helpful staff offered shuttle service to a nearby pharmacy so I could fill prescriptions. Would stay again. Great value.
Had and early flight out so we drove up the night before to get some rest. Unfortunately a large group was also staying who spent all night in the hallways visiting until we left at 4am. No rest but otherwise the rooms are decent and staff is friendly. Offers parking while away on your trip and provides transport to and from airport.
Not a bad stay. We are BW Rewards members so we stay at Best Westerns often, and It is the cheapest in the area. Its next to the airport. It is an older hotel so it's not high class, but it's not dirty either.
Clean, comfortable hotel located 7 minutes from airport . Free shuttle service starting at 4:15am . Good value and convenience , especially for early airport departure . Free breakfast and parking provided .
Traveling on business stayed here overnight for an early flight. Very accommodating staff, had free shuttle which picked me up from rental car and then to airport in the morning. Room was comfortable and very clean. Don;t care for (money saving) halogen lighting in the room-way too harsh and hard to read by due to the unnatural wavelength. Couldn't tolerate for a long stay for sure. Otherwise for overnight was just fine. 10 min to airport. Not many restaurants close by but they offered to provide shuttle to and from!
This hotel was one of the lower prices in the area and if you think price denotes quality this hotel defies it all. The check in was easy and quick. The hotel has a swimming pool and exercise room which I used neither of but they looked in good shape. The room was an excellent room for the price point. It was modern, clean, comfortable, what else do you want for a great price? I slept very well, the bathroom was very nice and had excellent hot water. WiFi was easy to connect to and use. The breakfast was decent with make your own waffle to some good tasting biscuits and gravy with sausage. For the price you can't beat staying here. The room was also equipped with a mini fridge and microwave. Didn't use them but thought I would mention they are available.
Hotel was nicely decorated; was clean and modern looking. Breakfast (free) was good; location was very convenient to the airport. Decent amenities for a discount hotel (thank you!) Recently renovated and nicely done. Outside appearance was also very good. Free Wi-Fi!
The hotel was close to MCI, which was convenient. The rooms were fine. The internet was a little slow, but with the holidays, I figured it would be. My only issue was the water in the shower wasn't very hot. When I told the front desk staff at check-out about this, he seemed genuinely concerned. Said they would "take a look at it". Fingers crossed. I would stay here again.
My family of four stayed there a few nights ago, since we had an early flight out of KC the following morning. Check in was a breeze, and the room was spacious. To call it dirty would be unfair, but it was definitely not sparkly clean. The doors all slam when they close, which can be jarring. Overall, breakfast was adequate, and getting to the airport the next morning was easy.
Front desk when coordinating shuttle service returning to the hotel were unnecessarily rude and short - and made for an unpleasant experience. I'd suggest looking elsewhere for a family friendly hotel at KCI
This was a very convenient location to the airport and a great experience overall. Nice and dark room for sleeping and a very comfy bed. Food choices were great for the most part, loved the biscuits and gravy although I should've had the healthier options...I will be back!
Totally enjoyed the peaceful stay in KC! It was easy to drive around & get to downtown! Staff was pleasant & assisted with the stairs. Parking in back is challenging but doable! Bellman will assist if you ask.
Good rooms, great breakfast, nice property. Very safe. Only wish it was closer to restaurants. All staff was very kind and helpful. I traveled alone and I felt very safe. I would use this hotel again.
We will stay here again. The location met our needs quite well. Staff was helpful and hotel was clean. Very nice breakfast. Our only issue was the internet in the rooms was not reliable but hopefully that gets better before our next stay. I should have tried it in their Business Center.
We wanted something clean, yet pet friendly. The two do not often go hand in hand. The rooms here are clean and well-maintained. The room did not feel like a “pet” room. Our two toy poodles have never seen a flea or tick, and we're confident that they still haven't following our stay here. As is the case with many hotels, this location should invest in soft-close mechanisms for the doors, higher STC doors, and acoustic treatments on the corridor walls. We could hear the opening and closing of doors resonate throughout the hallway all night. It's a real drag when you're a light sleeper and the night owls wake you up with slamming doors all night.
I have stayed at this hotel in the past and one main reason is the close proximity to the airport and the free shuttle. Rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is good. They even have muffins and fruit to take along if we have a real early flight.
We needed to be at the airport by 4:15 AM, which was the time that the shuttle driver normally arrived for work. The manager asked the driver to come in 15 minutes early, and she did that. They were all very helpful.
My online reservation did not connect with the front desk. The attendant was argumentative saying I had no reservation until I produced my copy. Then I had to ask if there were any rooms and if so could I have one? The room was dingy, not very clean, remote needed a new battery, which they promptly provided, dead bug in bathroom, stains on bed skirt and the air conditioner/heater so loud I could not sleep. If the weather had been better and it was earlier in the evening and I was not so tired I would have left for another place and asked for a refund. I can't even imagine how hard that might have been. I did leave my car and use their shuttle service and that was good.
The check-in person was not very accommodating and would not listen to what we were trying to tell her and as a result it took us an hour to check in which was rather embarrassing. It turned out that it was the motel computer that was defective and would not take our card. She should have called a manager for help. She finally tried another computer which took our credit card..
The staff make this hotel what it is. They are kind people who want to help the customer feel welcome. Breakfast foods were as expected. Shuttle to the airport couldn't have been easier. I had a room with a couch, refrigerator, and microwave.
Upon arrival the staff greeted me and were very friendly and helpful. Whenever I came to the lobby they greeted me and were helpful with anything I asked, they were wonderful. The room was great, bed was very comfortable, love the pillows, and the Internet was perfect for what I was using it fo, Even to watch my Netflix! I left before breakfast still have no idea what the buffet with like.
Its right off the freeway with good parking and services nearby. Staff was helpful getting me checked in and taken care of. Was glad to get a nice place to stay with comfortable rooms I could rest in.
Great place to stay. Excellent treatment, and extras. I will definitely stay again in the future. I will also tell all family and friends of your service and all things included. Loved the free wi-fi, This is always a plus to have.
It's all good here. The place is clean, quiet and comfortable. The shuttle to KCI starts at 4 am so there was no pressure to make our flight. We always stay here for the park and fly. We didn't try the breakfast as our flight was too early. They did have some grab and go goodies and hot coffee.
The hotel was clean, looked very nice. The breakfast was great. Staff were friendly and very competent. The rooms were modern and the beds were very comfy. The layout of the lobby was very nice and inviting. We also swam in the pool and it was very clean and nice temperature.
Thought for the money we would get more than an average hotel. It was clean, but nothing special or nice. Breakfast was just ok as well. Mostly precooked pre-made items and overly ripe fruit. The floor in our room was not level either it was like it had a sag in it. Thought that was kind of weird.
Room smelled and was full of bugs, hot tub worked when it wanted, bed uncomfortable and staff uncaring about reports and did nothing to fix. They didn't offer me a room change. I couldn't eat in the room I knew in minutes the bugs in my room woukd be in my food. I will never come back and neither should anyone else!
Room just ok, food ok. The towels had hair embedded, even found one with a pubic hair....GROSS! It doesn't take that long to check towels! Internet was slow and when on business I need better internet. You have to drive a couple of miles to find a decent supper.
This is our lodging choice when we fly in/out of MCI, we have stayed there many times as a matter of fact we are booked there two more times in October. We stayed there last night 10/17/17. When I entered the bathroom to take shower there was a silver fish bug crawling up the wall. We had some things in a plastic bag that I could empty out so I could catch the bug. The next morning I took the bug to the front desk and told them I expect a bug free stay. They made a note of my complaint and offered me a $10.00 discount. I told them to keep the $10.00 just get rid of the bugs. So for we have not seen any in our luggage
We stayed only one night but the staff was professional and nice. We got a king room on the first floor. It was quite and clean. Not one complaint. The breakfast was like most hotel complimentary breakfast areas. Tasted great, clean, and kept stocked. My only issue was how small the area was. The tables are close to the food bar so ppl (kids mostly) kept bumping into me. Checkout was fast and easy. Would recommend.
We stayed here two nights. Hotel was near airport but no plane noise. Staff very friendly and helpful. David welcomed us and answered all our questions. We were traveling via our Harley and were provided with rags for a quick "wash down". Harley factory 5 minutes away. Convince store and gas 2 minutes away. Only restaurant in area is in hotel next store. This BW does have guest laundry..a most when on the road.
Located close to the airport area. Didn't hear the planes. Large selection for breakfast. Lots of doors so don't have to carry luggage far. Very clean rooms, lobby, breakfast room. Hotel staff was knowledgeable and friendly.
Imagine pubic hair and used shampoo bottles. Now imagine arriving at 8pm for a quick stop before flying out early the next morning with your young family. The bathroom is locked from the inside when you check in. So you ask them to unlock it. You are handed a paper clip and told this happens often. The room smells weird and notice a stain on the bed. You eventually succeed in getting the bathroom door open -- it's about 10 now and kids are cranky. The bathroom hasn't been cleaned. Pee on the toilet seat and enough hair for a family of gorillas. Welcome to the Best Western Kansas City Airport.
I am a Diamond member and stay over 100 nights a year in Best Westerns. My wife and I checked in on our way to vacation. The staff seemed annoyed that we were there, that I was using a rewards certificate that I had received due to staying so often, and never smiled once. The room was badly designed and laid out, and the bed was not comfortable. I will not b returning.
Wouldn't recommend. It was noisy. There is no view to speak of and even if there were the windows were dirty. Valance was stained, carpet worn and had the tacks sticking up where it meets the bathroom door. Needs an upgrade.
Our stay was about average for this hotel chain, we have had much better at the BW plus in the past. I think the quality of food for breakfast has changed as well, we will opt to pass on that and go to Denny's on our next visit. The best was not the best, a little lumpy.
We had a HOG group of 24 with some 16 Motorcycles. They provided shuttle services to and from dinner, provided towels to dry off the bikes from the rain and allowed us to hang around after check out, enjoying coffee, until we were ready to leave. Great job taking care of us. I'll be back!
Clean and looks newly renovated. Staff were very friendly and bed comfortable. The room was a little stuffy, but once the air was turned up it was very nice. I plan on staying here again while traveling to and from the airport.
A horrible place to stay. The smell inside is not great, there were giant mosquitoes inside the elevator. When I came back from dinner, there was Marijuana smell in the corridor and the elevator. And then to add to the frustration, I got woken up in the middle of the night with bumps on my head and neck due to BED BUGS. I turned the light on and saw bugs on the pillow. Please see the pictures. Stay away from this dirty and unhygienic place. I reported the bug issue to the guy behind the counter who apologized and said that he will report it to the manager. The next day no manager or so got in touch with me.
The front desk was very helpful. They allowed me to check in early, found a razor for me since I apparently did not bring one. Helped with the wake up calls. One morning David at the front desk was able to help me email and fax a few documents for a client. Great staff...clean room!!
This is a standard Best Western with clean rooms and a plentiful breakfast. It's about 30 minutes from Kaufman Field but very close to the airport which was convenient given we had to return the rental car and make a very early flight.
Road trip safe stay. Easy in and out. No restaurants nearby accept a Pub and a local BBQ joint which was actually perfect. I prefer local food the typical chain food dregs. Only issue was the AC unit smelled musty and the room smell musty when we first came in, but I opened the window and ran the machine and the smell cleared out. Rooms are updated. The AC unit just needed the coil and pan cleaned.
The front desk person was very helpful and offered (what turned out to be) a great place to have supper. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable bed. Plenty to eat/large variety at breakfast. Although they forgot to place our receipt under the door, check-out was quick.
My family stayed here after attending a funeral, and we wanted to be close to the Kansas City airport since we were flying out the next morning. The hotel was clean and the staff was excellent. The hotel is older and although the interior has been remodelled there are some things a traveler should be aware of: no dedicated exhaust fan in the washroom, very slow internet, and noisy door closers.
My 11 yr. old son and I arrived around 10:30 p.m. once we go into our room and began turning on the lights, etc., we both noticed a burning/"hot" smell in the room. We called down to the front desk and was given the run around about the room. We were told there weren't any issues the night before, etc. In the meantime, the smell is getting stronger. I requested another room. It took over an hour and a half to get us moved. My son has asthma. As a result of this room, which we saw being cleaned the next day as if nothing was wrong with it, he had an asthma flare up. When discussing this with the manager the next morning, I was not offered a discount, free room - NOTHING. Just an excuse that the employee working the night before was kinda new and that was why it took so long to move rooms.
The bed was hard- literally like sleeping on a board. The room was also stale/musty smelling and very humid. I checked in very quickly/easily and signed up for the 445am shuttle to the airport. In the morning, several of us waited at the desk to check out but no one came to help us. The shuttle driver came inside and called to a guy who was eating at the hotel guest breakfast bar. He then came over and started checking people out. Seriously? The employee was too busy eating to get people checked out to catch their flights! He was completely ignoring the line of people to finish his bowl of cereal. On the plus side, I did have the pool all to myself (no hot tun present at thisproperty though). Oh, and I was told there was a hair dryer in the room- the was not.
My husband and I walk in to ask if we can check in early (it was 11am so didn't think so but wanted to ask) and we end up waiting for 10 mins. nobody was at the front desk. We notice that there is paperwork spralled out everywhere with an EMPLOYEES SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER visable on top. finally the attendant shows us. We ask about check in and they said they couldn't (which was fine). I mentioned that the employees paperwork shouldn't be out for anyone to see and he says "well people shouldn't be looking at the desk papers anyway so it's fine"....wow okay. If you work there know your information may be displayed on the front desk for random travelers to see.
My friend and I arrived around 11:00pm. The front desk staff were friendly and we had no problems with our room. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast. The area was clean and there was plenty of seating. I had not reserved a shuttle to the airport in advance but I had no problems reserving it about an hour before I needed a ride to the airport. The driver was very friendly and got me to the airport safely. I would stay here again.
I stayed on a Sunday night, since I had an early Monday AM flight. The room was clean and service was great. I jumped on the transfer van at 4:15AM and it left on time. My car stayed at the hotel while I was out of town, and when I made it back..all was well. I'd definitely stay at this location again.
Great hotel for whisking you to the airport at 4:15. Everyone was very friendly. I did workout in the fitness space when I arrived before taking an Uber ten minutes to the Barrywood AMC for a movie, shopping, and dinner.
I was told upon check in that a room had not been reserved in my name, but the other two rooms on the same reservation were there. A second check showed that my room had been reserved too. We were asked who would be paying, but we had pre-paid through a 3rd party site. That was also confirmed on a second check. I had requested a crib for my one year old in the notes section of my reservation, but was told a flat no when I asked if that request had been met. I had to ask whether one was available. The desk clerk didn't know, and could not provide a time estimate for when she would know. It was stressful not knowing whether my baby would have a safe place to sleep. I was able to find someone from housekeeping, who was very nice and kindly brought one up, but I had to assemble it myself. The room itself was clean and pleasant, but the air conditioner did not seem to work properly. I had it set to 66 and constant fan, but it was still warm. To top all of that off, and truly my reason for writing this review, is that I awoke at 11:45pm to someone trying to get in the room. I had chained the door, so they couldn't. Minutes later, the phone rang (waking the baby), and it was the front desk asking what my name is and why I was in that room. I calmly explained that I was assigned that room at check in and named the other people in my party who had different rooms and which they were in. The woman checked and said I should have been in a different room. There was no apology for disturbing us. I double checked my key card envelope, and it matched the room I was in (and the keys obviously worked). I am extremely irritated at the way I was treated by the customer service staff at this hotel and would recommend anyone considering staying here to find another option.
Our room was nice and clean. However, on this very hot day, the A/C was not working properly. We called down to the desk and no one was available to come fix it. Then we called back again to see about moving to a different room and the front desk did not pick up. So we suffered the night with our room never getting cool. Additionally, the wifi code that we were given never connected so we had to use our hot spot. We will not be back again.
Friendly staff, clean well maintained room. Stayed on 3rd flr. Easy highway access. Stayed here to visit the town of Weston,MO. Also on the north end of KansasCity sites. KC airport is close by but never heard any airplane or highway noise.
Not a lot to do in the area. To attract more people, the night life needs to be more then going to the gas station for beer and chips. All the hotels need to work together to get some sort of entertainment company to provide a facility for evening events.
Near the airport, free shuttle service to and from airport. Very convenient and friendly service. the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. They had snack bags ready for those who had flights prior to breakfast being served
hotel was very clean, personnel were very helpful. desk clerk arranged for someone to pick us up when we returned to the airport at 11 pm to return to the hotel when cruise was over. I called at 11:30 actually and they still had van pick us up very quicklyt
The beds were comfortable. The toilet you had to flush twice. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. We didn't get to use the pool but it looked clean. The waffles at breakfast were great but the biscuits were hard and obviously just reheated. I would stay again.
We were coming through Kansas City and were having a hard time finding a hotel that wouldn't charge a ridiculous pet fee. We called Best Western and found out that not only were they pet friendly...they were kid friendly. We were able to get one room for our 5 young kiddos, us, and our beloved dog. The breakfast went beyond expectations and the pool opened early enough the kids could swim before we got back on the road. The price was super reasonable, the room was clean and comfortable, and we can't wait to go back again!!!
We were traveling with my dad who is handicapped. We got 2 rooms that we booked through Priceline express deal that rates this hotel 3 star and there is no way that's an accurate rating. When we arrived we asked for rooms near each other, we went to the rooms and went in...both rooms smelled of sewage from the bathroom and the floor was damp and filthy. The bedroom area had a strong musty smell and the a/c unit was making a grinding sound even when it was not running. We set the ac down to cool both rooms off and neither made it to a comfortable temp the entire night. I went to my dads room and he pointed it several small bugs under the couch we all elevated our luggage so that we didn't have any of that coming home with us. Due to us having a 17 hour drive home the following day we attempted to stay the night, by 3am we were all awake from the rock hard beds and the noisy ac unit I went down to the front desk to explain the issues and no one was there. We decided to leave as the hotel was clearly a 1 star not a 3. If it would have been advertised as a 1 star as it should have been we would have never booked it. I don't appreciate priceline's dishonesty or the hotel for offering nothing to make the situation better.
We arrived late for check-in and their was a mistake in our room. The staff were very helpful and friendly and accommodated us quickly. The rooms are very clean, wi-fi service was great. Overall it was a great experience.
We experience a inconvenience with the malfunction of the hotel equipment, damage garment with no response. The tub stopped up, the toilet wouldn't go down, cockroaches in the bathroom, manager don't follow up with complaints.....
We arrived very late at the hotel and the front desk clerk was extremely busy. She still took time with us and assisted us with all of our needs. Thanks for that. We will stay here again once in the area. Thanks for a great stay.
The clerk had on his own accumulated a list of restaurants in the immediate area and offered shuttle service so we didn't need to take the motorcycles as we had a long day of riding and he could tell we were tired.
Staff was very kind and accommodating with my late arrival and extended checkout. I wish the shuttle ran late as getting a car to the hotel at 1am was very difficult. Hotel was quiet and clean. Nice internet. Wish I would have had time to enjoy the amenities.
Convenient to the airport with free shuttle service. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was available but did not look appetizing. There was yogurt and cereal as well. There was a garbage bag of trash and a laundry bin of sheets left in the elevator. Free wifi. Staff was friendly but I wouldn't stay there again.
Stayed at the hotel for business during the week. Check in was easy and the staff was very friendly, I found the room to be clean however this is an older hotel that could use some updating. Breakfast was good, Over all a good hotel.
There was a cheerleading competition, that we were there for. There were many parents in the lobby partying, didn't see many kids with them. The rooms were not very sound proof, so you could gear kids running around, we weren't too bothered, but apparently some people were and complained. We were leaving around 10:30, to get snacks, one of the employees yelled dirsctly at my grandson" you need to stop running around! everyone is complaining about YOU running around!" He was with us the whole time! We were right behind him when the employee yelked at him! I was very upset and shocjed, that he would speak directly to a child like that, and we were with the child, he could have handled that so many different ways! that was BS! With at least 100 cgeerleaders and their siblings in the hotel, ge lasged out at my grandson, without even inquiring, or explaining anything to us. We are in KC for competitions about 5 times a year, and will not be returning to this hotel. Its too bad because it is a good location, and may have been our new spot to stay.
Visited KC for a long weekend trip. Hotel was your average Best Western. Didn't really expect anything less or anything more. One note I will add about the hotel in general is the indoor pool. It seemed to be dirty. Needless to say when a small pool has a lot of traffic in and out, it'll get dirty but we checked it out right after we saw one of the staff members cleaning the pool area. Also when you're visiting a hotel with an indoor pool, it typically stinks of chlorine and it was unusual that you barely smelled chlorine passing the pool or in the pool area. On a side note, anyone traveling to KC area, please note that the interstates are ridiculously confusing and there are quite a few speed limit changes in one small stretch from hotel area to downtown area. Speed limit goes from 70mph to 65mph to 55mph. We learned the hard way one morning and luckily since we weren't from the area nor knew the speed limits the police officer let us off with a 64/55 rather than the 74/55. So keep eyes open on speed limits!!!
I just checked out yesterday and drove to Minnesota. This Best Western exceeded my expectation, which was uncertain because of a bad experience with another Best Western in Columbus, OH, a couple years ago. I am now at a Holiday Inn Express in Minnesota, and I must say that the Best Western Express KCI was almost as nice. I decided on this Best Western based only on the stellar recent reviews and price. The reviews didn't disappoint. The room, halls, pool area, and general areas were clean. The free breakfast was good. The hot items were sausages, biscuits, gravy, and eggs. I was on the 2nd floor, and the room was quiet despite the hotel being fully booked. The staff was helpful. Not an elegant hotel, but overall, I had a nice stay. The only issue I had was failing to notice that the hotel was pet friendly, and my child is allergic to dogs and cats. But we just made sure to stay clear of the 2 dogs and put towels on the sofa. It didn't end up being a problem.
was a good stay and Breakfast was good. Staff was helpful and checked on us to make we where ok. Parking a little tight for trailer. Had coffee 24 hrs and had grab and go stuff in morning. Room was clean and nice and had a good shower. Price was fair, not cheap.
People if you want to stay at a hotel that the staff makes you feel like your a King or Queen than this is the place. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a very happy and helpful lady. I believe her name was Christin or something like that. She was very helpfull with making sure our stay was good she even called us to see if our room was suitable. And brought us extra pillows and a blanket. We stayed for 2 nights. We didnt see her the next day or night. The housekeeping lady Pam was very efficient and very sweet. She even vacuumed the hallway. The next day we met the GM (well that is what his name tag said) he was Extremely rude to staff and acted like guest were an inconvenience. We have stayed here before and never ever had we been treated so awful this GM must be NEW he definitely needs some customer service training. The night staff the 2nd night was a very very young gentleman that always greeted us as we walked by the desk. We think his name Tayler? Very nice young man. And the overnight gentleman he was always busy making sure guest had what they needed not sure of his name but he wore a suit. Breakfast great. So i would recommend this hotel but avoid the GM if all possible he has NO people skills at all. Shuttle we did not experience Staff: Christin: very helpful, very sweet and has people skills along with multitasking phones and check ins Pam: very dedicated worker, you can count on a spotless room, and always stops and listens. GM Joseph: Horrible Horrible he is rude to his staff and makes guest feel like they are an inconvenience Taylor: very nice Suit over night: very helpful and caring. Will stay again. Thank you.
Nice place near the airport. Clean and quiet. Nice exercise path across the street around two ponds. Convienent store nearby, and a nice restaurant/bar in Hilton across the parking lot. Shuttle to airport every 15min from 4am.
I stayed at this property while returning from a business trip because of its convenient location to the airport. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the location offered free parking so it was very reasonably priced as well. If returning a rental car to the airport, there is also a convenient and reasonably priced gas station next door. The check in process was a little too efficient (name, rank and serial number please! – sir, yes sir) and I would have liked the desk agent to have been a little more personable. I mention this because as a rewards member, I would have liked the agent to have told me about the current promotion which would have meant a $10 travel card on my next trip. I guess he was too busy getting people in and out to worry about helping someone or offering suggestions and/or promotions. As I understand BW policy, this practice is strongly encouraged. Other than that, the desk agent the next morning and the buffet attendant were very friendly and there were no issues. The morning buffet although free was pretty basic with continental items, eggs, sausage, etc. and the eating area was rather small.
This was a great place to stay in north Kansas City. Rooms were clean, it is a good value. The breakfast has lots to choose from and was very good. I will certainly stay here again when returning to the Kansas City area.
Nice place to stay, close to routes going in and out of Kansas City. I would gladly stay here again on future travels. Good curb appeal and clean. Breakfast area very plain. The rooms were quiet and very clean rooms.
We recently stayed at the Best Western in Kansas. Our stay was uneventful. Our room was clean, well stocked and comfortable. The only issue was with the front desk attendant at check in. She was nasty and rude and unfriendly. The first person you are greeted by should be welcoming and friendly and she was none of them That being said, the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome The room was very clean and comfortable. Overall it was a great value and would definitely choose another Best Western for future travel
Stayed here after a late flight into Kansas City. Hotel is convenient to the airport and does what it says on the tin. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel provided a free shuttle and breakfast.
Nicely furnished hotel very close to airport. Large well appointed rooms with comfortable beds. Good breakfast buffet including eggs, sausage, biscuits, waffles, yogurt, cereal, bagels, juice & coffee. Would definitely stay here again. Only downside was we could hear our neighbors through the doors.
Hotel has a free airport shuttle, which is a huge help. Drivers friendly and kind. Front desk staff helpful and friendly as well. Decent breakfast in the am, rooms pretty standard but certainly more than adequate. Plenty quiet, good rest. Easy access business center and vending. Loved the people, hotel gets a B+. Nothing in walking distance except the Hilton across the parking lot which has a good restaurant.
I highly recommend this hotel. Very clean, peaceful, and safe. The staff was really nice also. You would never know the airport was only like three miles away. The drive into Kansas City, MO was convenient as well.
A simple night's stay that was clean and quiet. I noticed there are a lot of flight crews who stay here, so the standard seems good to keep such contracts with airlines. The first shuttle driver failed to pick me up at the airport, driving right by me as I waited, but the second was prompt and courteous. He later took me to the nearby mall for dinner and back to the hotel as well. I used the business center to print out some directions late at night. The breakfast was adequate to start the day.
Adequate at best. Barely reasonable price for what you get. Noisy in rooms. Entrance from street not well marked and shares a parking lot with another motel opposite and somewhat confusing which motel owns what part. Same breakfast everyday. No variety. Liquid egg whites with a small amount of liquid yoke fried to look like a fried egg. Sausage patties just warmed. Had better eggs at Parris Island and Camp LeJeune in the 1960's. Front staff were friendly. Close to terminal and shuttle available. Took a chance at last minute and most likely would not stay there again unless nowhere else to stay at the airport.
Stayed here for three nights for a weekend event in the area. Check in was prompt and courteous, as well as check out. The free breakfast was typical hotel breakfast food, but not so desirable. You would be better off going to a cheap local restaurant. The room itself was dated, I would expect to pay $79 a night for a room in this condition. on the good side, no bugs anywhere.
On a positive note, we were allowed to check-in before 3pm. That's where the notes turned sour: 1) We made reservations 5 months out, purely on the basis of Tripadvisor ratings, and called a week in advance to reserve a crib in the room. The woman answering the phone assured us that we could have one. When we arrived, we asked if the crib were in the room, we were assured that it was ... it wasn't. We called down after checking in to request it, and were assured that one was on the way ... it wasn't. We called later that evening and were told none was available. The following AM at 7:30, I stopped at the desk to inquire if one would be available for the 2nd night, and one was delivered in 5 minutes!? Since it was very unlikely that folks had checked out by 7:30, and the crib had just become available, I'm assuming that the prior day's staff were either too lazy or too incompetent to find the one that was immediately locatable the next morning. 2) The rooms are nowhere large enough to accommodate two queen beds. There's only ~15 inches of space between the bed and the wall, and the bathroom and closet doors cannot be opened simultaneously. 3) The side entry door has a card reader that was never active for the two days we were there. It was wide open for anyone wishing to sneak in without being observed. 4) The PCs in the business center are running M'soft Vista; an Operating System no longer supported or updated and quite vulnerable to hackers. The internet speeds are of the DSL variety (i.e. too slow to do any meaningful work) 5) Staff spend more time smoking outside the side exit door, than actually working. (see reasons #1 & #3)
MOST of the employees we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. Property just needs some attention. Showing it's age. AND.....if you call yourself an airport hotel......then shouldn't you keep your hotel shuttle service running until all flights have come in for the evening. I was told at 10:45 that I would have to use Uber.
great shuttle service from car rental area, and to airport. located close to airport and just off the interstate. staff service was great, room was very clean, bed was comfortable, & breakfast was great-a great place to stay.
Heating/cooling system in the rooms need updated! I like a fan ran at night. I couldn't get the AC to stay on all night, it would kick on and off every 15-20 minutes. I GOT ABSOLUTELY NO SLEEP!!!! MISERABLE MISERABBLE night stay. Above all, the hotel is VERY nice. Staff super nice too! Clean rooms! If you like a fan running at night, I would suggest you choose a different hotel!
Excellent stay. The bed was comfortable. Quiet atmosphere. I loved being close to the airport. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. The accommodations exceeded my expectations. I will definitely reserve again.
My husband and I were tired from a long road trip from New Mexico to Ottawa, Canada that was made longer by severe flooding in three states. I had to rebook some hotels, including this one. This hotel was a highlight with excellent service, wifi and amenities
We stopped waiting for sight seeing before flying home. The hotel is very clean and quiet. The room and bed was excellent. Visiting down town or other sights in the area are easy to reach. Access to the highway is easy.
Hotel staff was amazing. The hotel looks plain from the outside but is amazing inside. Our room had a comfortable king bed, a shower/tub combo, an in room Jacuzzi tub (amazing), mini fridge and PLENTY of pillows. The hotel was very clean and to top it off it was less than half the price of the Embassy Suites by Hilton that was right next door that did not have an option for an in room Jacuzzi tub. I am disabled for a back injury and that tub made our trip much easier. Felt completely refreshed and ready to get back on the road after soaking in the Jacuzzi privately and then enjoying a wonderful breakfast. I highly recommend this Beat Western if you are traveling through the Kansas City area.
Well located near the airport with a close gas station to fill up the rental car. Clean and comfortable with decent breakfast. Staff I encountered at the front desk were not overly friendly, but gave me the info I needed.
My husband, 9 yr old son and 18 month old daughter stayed for 2 nights at this hotel recently. We were in a spacious suite on the 3rd floor. The room had a king size bed and a huge sleeper sofa-so there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably. Housekeeping did a wonderful job, as the room was spotless. When we asked for a blanket for the sofa and some extra towels, we were met with quick delivery of both, with very professional and positive attitudes. We'd definitely stay there again.
Our flight out of MCI was cancelled and rescheduled for the next morning at 6:00 am. So we were stuck at the airport and looking for a hotel close by. We went on BW's website and had no problem booking. They sent a shuttle within about 15 minutes. There shuttle starts in the morning at 4:15 which was perfect for our early flight. It is less than 10 minutes from the airport. The hotel is very nice and clean. They gave us a list of food delivery options but we ended up walking across the street and eating at the Hilton's restaurant which was very good! Would definitely recommend this hotel!
We booked through Hotwire and were given an accessible room. We asked for two beds on Hotwire but only received a king. I was told by the hotel staff it would cost $10 to get a room with two beds. The room was outdated. In the bathroom, water went all over the floor due to the accessible shower, because the floor is sloped toward a drain on the opposite side of the room from the shower; water traveled across the bathroom through the grout line in the tile floor. To prevent water from being tracked through the carpeted part of the hotel room I mopped up all the water with towels. Bed was comfortable. I probably would stay at a different hotel next time I travel through Kansas City.
found this hotel just outside Memphis Tenn seems like all places in downtown were booked, we checked in to the last room available and it was great, huge room, clean and quiet. will stay here again but did miss the BBQ in Beal street and there is no restaurant in his Best Western
We were lost and Christi helped us make it to the hotel in the rain. she was very helpful. upon arrival we witnessed her multitasking 2 couples before us and the constant phone calls. she stayed professional and on task. when it was our turn she had a blanket and sheet set for the sofa bed. Breakfast good and Jessica was very pleasant. We will surely return. hotel is as clean as a Elite hotel. You definitely can tell the GM cares.People stay here the staff will always be helpful. We dont know what Christi health issue is but for her move around and put guest first walking with a cane was very impressive and she always smiled. No complaints with any of the staff you can tell They have good Management.
Our only real complaint was the noise from the room above. They weren't necessarily being intentionally loud but we could hear every footstep and it was a family of four. Breakfast was ok, staff was helpful and it was all clean.
First of all if you're a clean freak, this place will not disappoint. It was immaculate really and I appreciate that to the core. Kudos to the staff! We were signed in quickly at the front desk and though they took our credit card for 'incidentals' there were no pesky "holds" placed on my card. Again the room itself was clean without complaint. I appreciated that there weren't any down pillows but their pillows are crazy soft, so if you like a firm pillow you'll want to bring your own. We did go swimming in their indoor pool, which was very tidy. It is small, only going up to 5 feet at the deepest end, but that could be accommodating for children. There was signage indicating a hot tub, but I don't think there is one on the property. My husband really appreciated that they leave their coffee, juice, tea in the lobby open 24/7 Free breakfast in the morning is basic - yogurt, cereal, hot eggs, pastries. Some small things that could be improved upon: 1. It would be nice to have a binder with food delivery options 2. On our second night, none of the tea or coffee packets were refilled 3. It can be noisy. It seems like the doors/walls are thin. (we were on 3rd floor) 4. It would have been nice to have an additional blanket on the bed or at least available.
Great location close to Kansas City Airport. A classic Best Western - you get a very nice room, great customer service at a good price in a great location. One small drawback we had was that we picked up some freeway noise. Very good airport shuttle as well. They will also send their shuttle to the KCI rental car return facility (off the airport) if you drop off night before an early AM flight.
Great staff, great breakfast. Comfortable and utilitarian rooms. Hotel has lots of amenities and you get a great location near the airport without any airport noise. Staff was friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure our needs were taken care of as they arose. Great place
Best Hotel all around, One exit away from the airport, just a few exits north of food and shopping, and it is super clean and modern and the staff is very friendly and professional. The early morning breakfast is hot and fresh with a large variety of many different things and a large variety of drinks as well. I would stay here again and recommend this Hotel, I was very pleased, and I am not easy to please. They have a large exercise room and an indoor pool as well so you can swim year round, rain or snow. We did not stay long enough to use them though. Free wi fi in your room as well and a business room with a computer if you don't bring your own.
This Best Western has a nice lobby and staff. The airport shuttle runs on time. It is a quiet place to stay. The bad part was the room had ants and the bathroom was dirty. I won't stay here for the price they charge when the room are not kept up. Usually, Best Western rooms are nice.
This facility was very clean and managed by excellent staff. Everyone was helpful, kind and eager to make our stay great. The room, bed, and linens were high grade and comfortable. Wifi was bit challenging with an Apple device and not reliable. And hot coffee available 24 hours per day! Nice
The only issue we had was the I-29 traffic noise, other than that service was excellent including airport shuttle to and from rental agency and terminal. Room and king bed was very comfortable. Staff was very professional and prompt.
Compared to other Best Western facilities this was not as good as most of the others. Breakfast was adequate but nothing special and seating limited. Wake up call was not forthcoming causing a late departure.
The check-in was a bit rude. Our room, which we paid a premium rate for, was one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in. It appears the hotel has undergone a little renovation. The room was clean and the breakfast was adequate. I would not choose to stay there in the future.
We had an enjoyable stay at Best Western while visiting Missouri! It is very evident the management and staff are committed to customer service as it was top notch! The rooms were spanking clean and the breakfast option was awesome with all the choices! We will definitely be choosing Best Western again in our future travels!
This hotel is near airport and there is no restuarants within walking distance except for one that was next to gas station across the street that was more of a deli but did look appealing. We had to drive back on to freeway to another exit for restaurants.
very accommodating staff and clean modern hotel with indoor pool and great breakfast. Parking gets a little cramped when sold-out, but that is expected. the suites are a great value- very roomy with lots of room for friends anf family to gather
Check-in was fast and easy. There is an elevator for those with mobility issues. Also the side doors to access if you are closer to the end rooms. There does appear to be some renovation work on the hallway carpets going on but it didn't take away from the atmosphere. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Had no complaints at all about this hotel. Less than a 5 min drive to KCI and they offer a free shuttle.
I would absolutely stay here again. Clean, comfortable, and affordable. I arrived late evening after a hard drive. The night clerk was awesome; breakfast was delicious (gravy biscuits and quality coffee), and I got a good nights rest before picking up clients at MCI airport next morning. There is a great restaurant at the Hilton hotel next door that is open until 11:00pm.
We stopped at this location after traveling over 500 miles that day. Planned to watch football and check email. The wi fi never would work. They had us log in to gateway, still no wi fi. The breakfast was good- the gentleman that was taking care of it was very nice and told us that he had some scrambled eggs at this time. That was nice. We like the homemade oatmeal and this was packages. It was a nice place to have the breakfast- plenty of seating. The sheets on the bed were clean and the bathroom I think had recently been upgraded. The hall they were working on the floor, but there was nothing in the way- you could just see they need to do something around the base of the wall. The place was safe, clean room, clean sheets, really nice location, not really any where to get a night meal that was right there, like I said we had already driven over 500 miles and would have liked a McDonalds, Wendys, or something to grab a sandwich. The check in was a rather rude gentleman to us, but he did try to help us later with our internet- to no avail- never did get their wi fi to work.
I had pricelined this room for a quick stay before flying out of Kansas City. The room was very large and new and clean. The bed was very comfortable, I loved the pillows. Didn't try the breakfast because our flight left too early. Was very impressed with this property.
Room was spacious. Staff were very helpful and provided excellent directions and recommendation for an evening meal. Room was clean and sufficient. Close and easy access to airport. Bed was comfortable. Maybe need better pillows although other hotels I have stayed at have worse. There were plenty so could pile them up.
For a Best Western Property this was a bit disappointing. They are under hall floor renovation. From a guests point of view it is not being done with enough supervision. The narrow hall to the elevator is only half done and we were told by a front counter staff person that the job should have been finished weeks ago. The contractor needs to work during the night when traffic is minimal instead of typical check in time. Another issue is although this is a non smoking location the smoking area is next to the front door (handy for staff and you know they are staff because of their uniform) but that means you must walk through the cigarette stench every time one goes through the door. The staff was friendly enough but rarely at the front desk. Even had to use the telephone at the front desk during morning check out. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The breakfast was the usual BW fare however no one was cleaning. The newer tile floor was sticky from no spill clean up on previous days and the table tops were in the same dirty condition. We used the water tap in the juice machine and napkins to clean our table. They either need to lower their room prices or raise the bar on these matters.
5 minutes from the KCI Airport! Great condition. Great customer service. Comfortable and convenient. It's 10 minutes from eateries, but wide assortment of restaurants and shopping. The gym could stand to be upgraded a little. A little neglected, small and limited.
My fiancé and I stayed here for two nights during our recent weekend getaway to Kansas City. I chose to book this hotel because it was much more affordable than staying in the city and was rated pretty well. All in all we don't have many complaints - the staff was friendly and we never had any issues with housekeeping. The breakfast was what you'd expect, though the eggs and biscuits were cold. The gravy wasn't, but only because it was being kept in a crockpot. Our only complaints about the room itself were that the bed was really hard, and the main curtains don't close so the lights from outside come in through the sheer curtains through the night. Other than that, it was a fine hotel and served its purpose. You get what you pay for and I'm more than satisfied with what we got for the price. If we came back to KC I'd stay here again.
For a Best Western Plus, this property has too many negatives for me. Long black hairs throughout the room; drapes that are designed NOT to close--only sheers, hence privacy and daylight concerns; entrance security doors which are left unlocked and unsecured; and a staff who seemed rather cold. Next time I'm in the KC area, I will be staying at a different Best Western.
This is the first time we have stayed at this hotel. It was like every other BW hotel in terms of the cleanliness of the room and the lack of disturbing noises. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was substantial and filling. We would stay here again on our annual trip to Denver next year.
We took out grandson on a trip to Kansas City for his 17th birthday. We enjoyed our stay. The check in was very undesirable. We were given a lecture about why we couldn't have a third floor room that was promised us when I called for the reservation. He did move someone around so we did get the third floor room. Very uncomfortable situation. Everything else went extremly well.
The hotel and room were both clean and the staff was nice enough. The beds were rock hard. I think the floor would have been more comfy. Also, our room was extremely humid. We were on the 3rd floor and directly above the pool.
This was the last night of my trip before leaving for home. I was grateful for a quiet place where I was greeted with friendly staff and made to feel welcome. This is a very pleasant, cozy facility in a business park near the Kansas City Airport. I wouild stay here again.
Clean room and good breakfast. Stayed 2 nights. We spent our days at worlds/oceans of fun. Gentleman at the front desk was attentive. My kids used the pool and the water was warm. Several places to eat within a 5-10 minute drive. We would stay again!
We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff was wonderful and the breakfast was great to tide us over for a full day of oceans of fun, worlds of fun and the zoo! We ate breakfast and then hit a place for supper on the way back. We would definitely stay here again. My family had three rooms and it was great!
I checked in here at about 530pm after driving 3 hours and getting two flat tires. All I wanted to do was lay down with my two boys 8 and 4. My boys were excited to sleep at a hotel as we are picking up my wife from the airport at 530am and then driving home. After we checked in my boys were moving around the room and they did stomp a few times. After this I told them to calm down, then I heard a knock at the door it was the lady from the front desk saying she has gotten multiple complaints from the noise after only being checked in 30 mins. Now our room is directly above the front desk so there is no guest below us. We decided to go eat at 630 we came back around 720 and I was setting a bath for my boys and my oldest son ran in and within 30 seconds of walking in the door I received a call saying there has been a couple more complaints. I told her I told my son to calm down that we just walked in the door. She said if it happens again we will do something about this. I have been in this hotel room for only 1 hour total. The rooms are nice and taken care of and clean but customer service is not so great right now.
Clean, comfy and great location especially for shopping. Also within minutes of the airport. Was a good hotel for a quick overnight for airport. The pool was too cold to swim in and our flight left too early to enjoy the breakfast.
Nice and clean and comfortable for night before our flight. Shuttle to airport and you can park your car instead of airport and pick up when trip is over. Only complaint-- curtains in room were accent curtains on sides of window and we were unable to block out the bright lights coming the outside of hotel, need to be able to darken the room for sleeping. If management is monitoring this comment it is an annoyance. Staff and hotel get good marks in all but I would suggest changing curtains-at least in room 303 !!
This Best Western was easy to find and close to the freeway we were traveling. Room was clean and breakfast very adequate. Rooms were quiet and the wifi worked well. We would stay at this facility again.
Great hotel, very clean and delicious breakfast! Room was very comfortable and nice amenities. I would choose this hotel again and highly recommend to my friends & family. The staff were very helpful and spot on. The amenities were great as well.
Really enjoyed every day we where there staff was very helpful, and all the guest were friendly as well . I got my Hotel next time we comeback to visit my sister. It was all around a great places to stay at
We have stayed in many BW Pus all over the US and we have previously written you about the great experiences we have had. This KCI airport BW Plus was a major let down over our thirty-five years of travel.
Clean, friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, will stay again when in the area. Helpful desk personnel which guided us to attractions in the area. Breakfast consisted of traditional American food with meats, fruits, pastries.
I work weekends and travel a lot. I come to expect Best Westerns to give me a good level of quality. This hotel lived up to my positive expectations. The food was good at breakfast. The staff was attentive. MY room was quiet and comfortable. It was easy to get to what I needed, and the hotel was nice and clean, with everything I needed. I recommend staying here.
Hotel was very clean. We checked in late at night and were given a room that was already occupied! But desk clerk remedied it quickly. Room she gave us then was a handicapped accessible room. (We didn't need it, but if you did, it was very good--complete with roll in shower and shower seat.) Breakfast was just so-so. Had previously stayed at a Best Western Plus and had wonderful breakfasts. That part was disappointing.
My first floor room window did not lock. Called front desk and the person there said no other rooms available. I had to ask what he was going to do to address the issue. He came to room. Saw that it opened 8" and said flimsy screen should be sufficient. When I said it wasn't he was at a loss how to address and didn't seem motivated to continue to work on a solution until I asked what he was going to do to secure my room. Later his solution was to try a rolled up towel, which failed. I finally figured out how to jam the window closed. Found the next morning that the outside door near my room did not lock from the outside...anyone without a key could have accessed during the night. I am an experienced business traveler who is not paranoid but practices appropriate personal safety. Very disappointed.
Friendly check-in staff. Everything in the room worked great--hot water, water pressure, TV...everything. Smooth check-in. Smooth check-out. Close to airport. Had late arrival so it was close & worked out great.
Close to airport. I called for the free shuttle and the nice gentleman picked me up promptly and brought me to the hotel. Free hot breakfast was convenient to start the day off for our road trip. Safe neighborhood.
Pleasant 2 nights. 5 minutes from airport. Quiet clean large rooms. Hot breakfast met expectations. Pool looked nice but did not use it. Friendly helpful staff. Internet connection was poor for us and others; BW said it was a "satellite" system and has problems. Everything else was perfect.
I take that statement back. It's normally not over priced if you pay the normal rate of around $99. However don't try to stay there on any sort of holiday when they feel like they can charge you $260.00 per night. I would much rather stay at the Four Seasons which would be less than that!! Ha
Originally booked one of their sister properties which had a down pool so they sent me here. I liked the location of this hotel much better. The room was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities you need such as a mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. We came in late from the Union Station after the Memorial day celebration and with three kids we were not being overly loud but everyone getting settled for the night and we received a phone call from the desk that the guest below us was complaining which was a bummer because we were just walking around trying to get settled and changed for bed. I am thinking the floors must be pretty thin! A first floor room may be better for families. The breakfast was awesome and the guy working in the kitchen was very attentive and friendly. I really enjoyed my stay here...and my kids played in the pool area for about an hour and a half which was nice. I would definitely go back again.
I have absolutely no complaints! The entire hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. The staff was friendly, our keys had an issue and the desk attendant was polite and got them fixed quickly, the lady at check in was pleasant and got us checked in quickly. The breakfast had lots different of options, waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, as well as breads and different drinks. I would encourage anyone to stay here.
The quality of the rooms was great, having a microwave and fridge. The continental breakfast was far above and beyond and totally made the price of the room worth it. Staff was great, rooms were clean etc!
Second time I have stayed here and the experience was very good. Had 8am flight and shuttle took me. Breakfast was find except for the eggs, no big deal, have waffles. I just consider this about mid-range hotel or little better. Price is right, not real cheap but do not feel was ripped off or over priced. Quite place. W/F worked well. Had nice lounge chair in room with foot rest, fell asleep in it.
this best western plus has become my place to stay when in kansas city, super clean, recently new or renovated, great breakfast selection, friendly staff, super clean, very comfortable beds, just overall awesome, recommended to anyone
This was an above average hotel. The mattress was excellent! Room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was standard breakfast fare. My only complaint was the poor internet connection. It was very slow to respond.
The pool was nice, but a little small. The breakfast was great! Our room was clean and modern. Our floor seemed to bounce when we walked on it....had to tip toe to keep it from shaking :) I liked that we filled out a room service card and hung it on the door knob. Saved on housekeeping if not needed.
First Rm Assign Lower Floor. After Hauling All The Luggage In FOUND Room Not Made Up. Was Moved To Second Floor (Fun) After Requesting Lower Floor To Start. Best Western Plus No Adjustments No Help ! Have Stayed Hear Before Much Better Service In The Past.
I prefer to stay at B-W. This one is convenient to the airport and shopping/dining at Zona Rosa. However, the highway noise is loud at that side of the hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Shuttle is prompt and will take you wherever.
We only stayed one night, but it was a good night. Hotel is clean, rooms are spotless, bed is comfy, breakfast is normal, and the customer service is above and beyond. We had a few local questions and one challenge, and Jon, working the evening shift, took care of everything, even calling the room later to make sure everything had been resolved to our satisfaction. I can guarantee that when we return to that area, we will 'only' stay at this hotel. Good value for your money also.
stayed for one night..Easy to find and nice to be so close to the airport. Was a nice clean room. Bed was a king that was very comfortable.Had plenty of hot water in shower. It could use a fresh coat of paint and some new carpet. For the money it was a good value.Kerry at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant.WE will use again if we need a room out by the airport.
The reservation line was very friendly and fun to talk to. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The only complaint I had was the bed was not comfortable. It was a lot firmer than I like. If that doesn't bother you then it's a good place to stay for around $100 per night.
Great looking hotel. Breakfast was just as good as any other hotel and included. Internet was fast for the free internet. Front desk staff may be a bit confused over what stays qualify for rewards points.
I recommend this hotel. It is comfortably spacious with good amenities. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. It is close to the airport but a little far from the city. The breakfast offerings could be a little more expanded to include more low carb and low fat offerings.
We were there for a family function and was treated great from the start. Complimentary water bottles at check in as Rewards members, upgrade even though hotel was sold out, very clean room with all amenities and breakfast was very good. We will be back.
The room was large and well furnished .The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. Breakfast area was large enough to accommodate the morning rush and the selection was good, the food hot.
This is a clean and very comfortable hotel with friendly service. You should know that the complimentary airport shuttle does NOT run between 11:00 pm and 4:45 am. Also, I did not get my pre-arranged wake-up call. Otherwise...good.
2 of 5 nights my room was not made up on return. One other night it looked like the made did not have time so she threw the covers over the bed. After spending long days in classes, I came to a room not clean. That is a main reason to stay in a hotel, so be taken care of to get rest. Little rest at this one.
My husband and myself and a friend were guests at this hotel recently and we were very impressed with both the hotel as well as Sadie, the front desk clerk. My husband is a 100% disabled veteran and he was extremely exhausted and not feeling well when we arrived back in Kansas City. It wasn't even 1 pm, but we decided to see if we might get early check in. Sadie was extremely courteous, understood our need, and while there were no rooms immediately available, she asked housekeeping to work on our handicapped room as soon as possible and made us comfortable in the lobby. The hotel was extremely busy but Sadie was as calm as a cucumber, though she was being besieged from every side. When our room was ready, she also found a room available that our friend could check into rather than making him wait in our room until his assigned room was ready. When I went to make our shuttle reservation to the airport for the next day, I mentioned that our flight out wasn't until 2 pm and without my asking Sadie offered us a late check out at noon. Our friend was leaving on a very early flight and she suggested that he might want to return the rental car after dinner and call for the shuttle back rather than getting up and leaving extra early to do it all this morning. Sadie is an absolute gem, professional, competent and very friendly, and clearly has the best interests of this hotel's guests in mind. We were very pleased with our spotlessly clean and nicely appointed rooms at very reasonable rates. There were many and varied breakfast choices and you can be sure that if we return to Kansas City we will stay at this hotel again!
I had requested a room for disabled on my online reservation. Didn't have one at check in. Was there 4 nights, never offered me a room for disabled. Maid only made up one bed , not the other. No clue why and the front desk really didn't care. Said "Tomorrow is another day". How rude!
We only wanted a reasonably-priced hotel to spend the night before an early flight. This fit the bill. The man at the desk was helpful and professional. Our room was clean and comfortable. We were only minutes from the airport. We didn't use any of the hotel's other services, so I cannot speak for those.
My wife and I stayed here the last night of a ten day vacation. The staff was fine. When I asked for top floor quiet side he said "You realize that we are next to an airport don't you?" We kind of laughed that request off. Funny thing is that we slept with the window open about a foot and never heard one plane. Not sure how they pulled that off, but it was nice. Not enough choices at breakfast and by 8:30 they were out of eggs with more guests coming to eat. Our room had three packets of decaf but only one regular.
Stayed at best western first time. Hotel nice and clean.Services great. Bed comfortable lots of pillows.Only minus was breakfast. Not enough choices and by 830 no more eggs and there were still more guests coming. Otherwise. Great.
I have stayed here before and always been happy. This time it wasn't as great. The rooms are nice and the location is good. My family had 3 different rooms, and we all ran into the same problem with the coffee in the room. There were packets of decaf but none of regular coffee. The desk clerk didn't know where the extra coffee was kept. He suggested that I could come down in the morning to the lobby and get coffee to take back to my room. That kind of defeats the purpose of an in room coffee maker.. The next day I requested (on the room service card) that regular coffee packets be left. When we got back in the afternoon and had 6 packs of decaf, but none of regular. We finally got it straightened out, but don't know why it was such a hassle. The breakfast in the lobby is good.
Needed an accessible room and didn't get one. Should've been informed that one wasn't available. Breakfast was very good. Unfortunately, the toilet was the most comfortable place for me to sit in the room. Pool was nice, but I wish the lift was working. I was being determined to get into the pool.
I want to commend Manager Ashish Patel on his, and the wonderful teamwork of his employees: Jonathan, Kahlia, Sadie, John and Ron all were flexible and helped with any questions/requests we had. I noticed the teamwork when filling in for each other when necssary and sharing information about the area that was very helpful/informative. The breakfast had variety and was also appreciated. Thank you for a very nice visit to your area!
Pro:Nice property and good staff, Breakfast good. Con: Shuttle doesn't run past 11 p.m., so had to take a cab from airport at 11:30 p.m. Reserved queen with two beds and requested handicap accessibility. Arrived to find only king rooms have that. Was not notified of this, or would have booked somewhere else. Toilet height was child size. Older adults really challenged to use that low a toilet.
It's not the Waldorf - but it's not supposed to be! I stayed here for game 1 of the World Series (unfortunatley the Mets lost..) and was supremely satisfied. It's clean, the staff was SUPER friendly & check in & check out was smooth and easy. Highly reccomend!
Don't stay here. I stayed at a BW+ outside of SLC and it was great! That is why I chose this hotel this time, but I was SORELY disappointed. I barely slept, because the bed squeaked each time I moved (I only weigh 125 pounds), the bedding was scratchy, and the pillows were the "cheap" uncomfortable kind. Very disappointing.
The only thing we noticed was the uncaring touch up jobs that were done throughout the hotel. Whoever was responsible for taking care of this was either in a hurry or didn't care. You could see where paint had ran down on the base boards, tiles weren't put in correctly, etc. Otherwise this was a nice hotel.
I arrived late, but calling ahead with my Rewards Card membership, had no problem checking in, receiving a very comfortable clean room with breakfast available the next morn at a not too early time. I checked out easily at a last minute. The whole experience was quite good, worthy of a repeat when in the area.
Could not get the internet to work. Called the desk, and was told there was nothing that could be done. I missed a video conference with a client, because the internet wouldn't work. Unacceptable. Won't return.
A nice stay in a clean hotel, good location and best price when comparing to other hotels within a stone's throw away from here. I stayed in room 209 and the door didn't have the best seal as you could see lots of light from hallway which resulted in moderate noise being noted. Crazy microwave in this room as well that was rather fickle. Breakfast was decent and wished there had been a hot tub.
My husband and I were catching a flight out of KCI very early in the morning and live out of town, so we reserved a room here. It was very clean (my number one priority) and convenient to KCI. It was perfect for us.
Very nice fairly new hotel just off the interstate. Close proximity to the Kansas City airport. Did not have a chance to try breakfast. Had a very early flight. They will let you leave car if you are flying for a fee of $6 per day. Airport is $7 per day. Negative, not real close to restaurants that I noticed. Rooms were very nice and the beds very comfy. Did use the business center to print my boarding pass. Had indoor pool. This was a good experience.
In transit from visit with relatives in KS, I needed to find a hotel close to airport. My night at the Best Western Plus before early morning flight was very comfortable. The staff was attentive and helpful, room was comfy. Room was reasonably priced.
Need to improve their copy center to a real business center that opens programs. It is only set up to run copies and print boarding passes. Rooms were great, breakfest average. Front desk very helpful when asked for anything including opening a spreadsheet for me and printing it.
This Best Western PLUS has been a great value for us for a couple different 3-day volleyball events. The breakfast is great and makes the slightly longer drive to the KC Convention Center worth it. The staff is always helpful. It's also nice to have the laundry service available. It is right off I-29 and there are a lot of businesses and restaurants just a few miles away.
I stayed one night at the hotel and I had a good experience. The only thing I wished they had was central AC. I cared a lot about AC, but overall, everything else was good. If they have central AC in the future, I'd love to stay in that hotel again.
This is a very clean and comfortable hotel. Only wish that the airport shuttle would leave a little earlier. We like the park and fly option and would like to be at the airport earlier. Otherwise, a very nice hotel!!
We had several options to select from for our stay with the family reunion. My previous experience at the location in Lewisville won me over. Eleven family members, four rooms, and six days of excellent service and hospitality helped us to enjoy our reunion.
Hadn't stayed in a Best Western since I was a little kid on vacation, so wasn't sure what to expect. Turned out to be pretty nice. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Desk and Shuttle staff were very friendly and helpful. Not super fancy, but was about what I would expect for about $100 per night. No restaurant/bar/lounge on site, but the hotel directly across the parking lot (a VERY short walk) has a nice one, and B/W gave me a ticket for a free appetizer there so I was happy.
Needed an affordable nice place to stay close to the airport. This hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful and pleasant.shuttle service was also available to the airport with the option of leaving our vehicle at the hotel until our return.
I think this is the best Kansas City Airport hotel. The staff is very helpful in all areas and the price is exceptional. The accomodations are spacious and very clean. My husband and I had a early morning flight and the staff arranged for a private limo service for us to transport us to the airport. Additionally I left my medical equipment behind and the staff and manager sent the equipment to me and arrived next day at my home.
The Best Western Plus in Kansas City - East was a very nice hotel, both inside and out. Checking in/out was fast and easy. Bed was very comfortable, shower had great water pressure and the breakfast was good also.
We had a nice time and enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good but is a very cold area during the winter months. We would like to see a hot tub put in the pool area. The pool was nice.
The young lady who checked us in at 1:00 a.m. was very friendly and helpful despite the fact that she must have been freezing every time the front door opened and blasted her with sub-freezing temps. We often stay at hotels, the the beds here were as comfortable as ours at home. Great place!
Stayed at the Best Western (which is always my first choice when we travel) and was impressed by the service and helpful staff. The room smelled fresh and was very clean. The front desk gave us some terrific tips about what to see in town and where to go to eat which was very helpful as it has been many years since my husband was "back home in Missouri" . She was cheerful and informative without being fake or pushy. The breakfasts were even better than I expected with a great variety that was fresh and hot.
My experience with this hotel brand has not always been good, but I decided to give it another try and was pleasantly surprised with this one. The room was clean, attractive, and roomy. Bed was very comfortable, except for the pillows which for me are almost never to my liking! Room included a one-cup coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge. We discovered that the fridge was not working but a call to the front desk brought a maintenance man who quickly took care of it. Breakfast was the usual fare found at most breakfast provided places. Nothing worth praising here. The eggs were only slightly warm. Rate was very reasonable for this facility.
Stayed here for one night. It was clean, quite, and comfortable... I would stay here again. The man at the counter was friendly, he knew I was sick when we checked in. In the morning when we were leaving he wished me well and asked me what he could do for me.
Was not completely impressed with this BW. We have stayed at best Western's all over the nation and this one fell a little short. The room was ok. Pool was freezing and no hot tub by the pool to warm up in. It was an 'ok' stay. Not entirely impressed.
This hotel exceeded all my expectations. It is located near a Hilton hotel that does not even compare to in its appearance or service. The hotel is modern, clean, has an enclosed indoor pool, fitness room, and offers an outstanding variety of breakfast items. The customer service surpassed all of my expectations! The front desk personnel even did our plane boarding tickets, directed us how to reach the airport and more... Highly recommend if you have to stay near the Kansas City international airport.
Overall this was a good place to stay. The rooms were clean and updated, and the bed was comfortable. Our only complaints were the pillows were all soft, and we prefer firm ones. The breakfast was just average. The girl at the check-in desk was friendly as was the woman working in the breakfast area.
I had misgivings about this hotel on arrival. It was late and it had been a hard 13 hours on the road. After a nights sleep everything was fine. Breakfast was actually pretty decent. Nothing to get excited about. Apparently this place is popular with travelers going into the local airport. I, on the other hand, was on a road trip and this place has a bonus to it. We pushed through Kansas city late at night to get to this hotel. It added an hour to that nights drive but it paid off the next day. Since this hotel is located north of the city getting out in the morning to the north or west is a lot easier. We totally avoided all the traffic and it made the drive a lot more pleasant.
I chose this hotel on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews, the low price, and an early shuttle to the airport. I was a little leery because of the low price and I have found that BW hotels vary widely as to quality. From the moment I walked in, I was so pleased that I stayed there! The front desk lady was pleasant and efficient; when I asked about the shuttle, she signed me up and asked if I wanted a wake-up call (which I accepted since I have trouble hearing my cell phone alarm). She warned me to check my phone, advice that I was extremely appreciative of receiving since the phone wasn't working. I was on my way downstairs to report the problem but a maid called it in for me. Since it was a Sunday afternoon, I wasn't sure how much assistance I could expect but the gentleman was there within 30 minutes and ended up replacing the phone with a new one. He was also the shuttle driver the next day. I ended up with a flight delay and was granted an extended stay with no difficulty. Upon checking out I had a chance to chat with a gentleman that I assume was the manager; he spoke of the team working hard to provide service, and in my case, they certainly did! The breakfast was okay but since I paid well under $100 for the pleasant staff, nice clean room, an early shuttle, and breakfast - no complaints! This will be my end-of-visit hotel whenever I come to visit my daughter.
This place is a great value in an excellent location. I am working downtown Kansas City and the morning commute is an easy drive plus the convenient location by the airport makes this a great value. I am a loyal Best Western member but not all BW's are created equal this place is an A+
Overall, this is not that bad of a hotel. The rooms are okay, there is a shuttle to the airport, free breakfast and wi-fi and the value of the rooms isn't that bad. I didn't feel that the management was looking out for their customers (I had some issues concerning the billing) and the food options nearby are non-existent. You will need to rely on their shuttle (I didn't check to see if they would take you to a restaurant or not), keep your rental car or drive to a place to eat. I will not be returning and I cannot recommend this hotel, especially to anybody in the federal government on business.
Booked through Priceline and got a very reasonable rate. We arrived after coming in on a late flight and the night manager gal was friendly and checked us in quickly so we could get some rest. (Apologize I can not remember her name) This is a cozy, clean hotel. I felt the bed was on the firm side which I happen to love, slept well. Some of the previous comments about noise are somewhat true. I heard people walking above us and talking as well but was dead tired so went right to sleep. Free breakfast is pretty standard but is enough to get you going. Waffle maker, biscuits and gravy, dry cereal, pastries, toast and fruit. Coffee was acceptable and there was a free USA Today. As you know, there are countless options for hotels near the airport. We stayed at the one next door before we flew out and this one when we arrived back. Both were good but Best Western is better value for money, I feel. We did not use the airport shuttle but I do believe it was available. We were only here for a total of about 7-8 hours but would recommend it for a quick stop and would return.
The staff at Best Western are some of the nicest people. My wife and I always stay at the hotel the night before we go on a trip, we park our vehicle and they take us to the airport and they pick us up when we get back. The rooms are very nice and clean and the breakfast is great.
We arrived to visit our daughter who attends KU in Lawrence, KS for several days. Our outgoing flight was early so we decided to stay near the Kansas City airport for our last night. Hotel was clean, easy check-in, courteous staff and our room was roomy and had both a microwave and refrigerator. Breakfast was adequate, sausage, eggs, waffles, cereals and various other items. Not fancy but good. Easy access to airport, just one exit away.
Soft Good beds and pillows. Overall it was very Clean. Friendly staff. Better service than the motel to the east of them who wouldnt get off the phone to even talk to you. Get the internet price before got there, cheaper than at the desk. .
The 3rd floor stairwell door slams shut every time a guest uses it (which happens a lot in the morning as people leave). Completely ruined our sleep. Everything else was nice but it's attention to details like that which will make or break a hotel experience. They should have known and had that repaired.
We had 2 rooms here to see my daughter off to Hawaii. Very clean and quiet. Pool was warm and good hot tub. Free hot breakfast was fresh and had variety that satisfied everyone. It is a fairly new hotel. We will stay again.
We stayed at this hotel with our three kids. The staff seemed nice, the rooms clean, but in the hundreds of hotels I have stayed in for work I have never had a hotel with such thin walls and doors. I could hear every word uttered by the family next door via the adjoining door and wall. Made for a rude wakeup call when their sick son started getting sick at 6 a.m. Could have been better but could have been worse. Pool was also very cold and could only use for about 20 minutes before everyone just had to get out.
The hotel was easy to find and the service was excellent. The room was very nice and the larger bathroom was appreciated. Everything was very clean and worked well. The shuttle service was reliable and quick both at drop off and pickup. The Park and Fly option was easy and inexpensive. I'd go again in a heart beat!
Was able to check in early even though we arrived well before check-in time. Front desk was most helpful & friendly. Room was clean & perfect for our 1 night stay. Great room & service for price. Will recommend to friends & family.
This hotel has friendly staff, is clean and well kept and has a fair breakfast. It is located close to the local shops and the Airport and is easy access to northern areas like Atchison, Troy and Weston.
Unfortunately we arrived late and had to leave early at this hotel. We would have loved to stay longer and enjoy the facility. Even for a very brief stay the hotel was obviously excellent. Everything was excellent but we did not use the pool or exercise room.
My wife and I decided to stay near the airport as we had an early flight out. We chose this hotel because of the location and reasonable rate. We arrived and there was no one at the desk, but the sign said pick up the phone and I'll be right there and he was. The room was nice, roomy and clean. We went to sleep early, got up and got ready to leave before breakfast was ready, but got a great cup of coffee, checked out and were on our way. Check in and check out was painless, friendly staff and efficient. It was a short night, but good. The only negative is the Kansas City "hotel tax rate", but it's not the fault of the hotel.
The free shuttle service is very handy if you are without a car, there isn't much within walking distance but other hotels. The king room I stayed in (301) was a double sized room, big enough for a meeting or party. Bed was quite comfortable.
Checked in with a very friendly desk associate. Told us about the complimentary breakfast, which included - scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, toast, bagels, fruit, yogurt. Breakfast area was clean and well stocked. Went to the room, no odors in hallways, smelled fresh and clean, room the same way. Would definitely stay here and would recommend it.
This hotel is just minutes from the airport and has a complimentary shuttle service. The appearance, service and room were excellent and the breakfast was the usual continental brakfast and good. It doesn't have a cafe or restaurant so I had to cross the parking lot to eat at the Hilton but that is ok. It was priced pretty well and would choose it again.
The room was large and roomy, comfortable and clean bed, good shower with large sink area. This was a Stay & Park visit, was close to MCI and the employees taking me to and picking me up from the airport were courteous and safe drivers. Would stay there again.
Everything was clean, neat, and nice! The jetted tub was just the right touch! Our bed was not firm enough to our liking, so we were full of aches and pains the next morning. Would have liked to have seen bacon at breakfast and plenty of flavored waffle batter. Overall, we definitely recommend this hotel!
