Overall it was s great stay it was just an over night stay to have a dinner, and to see friends. Leave in the morning. I always like to stay at the Best western . I dont like to ramble on after i have made my statement at the stay at best western. Night staff was okey.
only reason not a 5 was because it was a strange area very desolate. was there for a college graduation nearby. friendly staff. clean hotel reasonable price. good breakfast.
The facility has some years on it, but the place is very clean and the breakfast is very good. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We've never stayed at a BW or if we have, it's been quite a while. We decided to stay at this location because it was close to family and friends that we were visiting. It was very quiet during our stay. Had a nice room and a pool inside that my granddaughter really enjoyed. The day/night shift front desk clerks were very nice and friendly. Enjoyed conversations with them. Definitely made us feel welcomed.
Everyone was super friendly and helpful! No complaints at all. Very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Staff was above and beyond my expectations! Would highly recommend. Pool was nice to have access to, warm and clean!
comfort and value the Best . Just like it's couldn't be Better. A feeling of total comfort. Stay there and you'll agree I'm sure. Close to everything in town. Easy acess to surronding towns as well. Other than the trains, which many come here to see, it's uber quiet for sleeping.
This hotel was a great value, which clean rooms and comfy beds. They have excellent customer service, with staff members who were willing and able to handle any questions or needs. Served a delicious warm breakfast. Would definitely stay again!
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good breakfast options, swimming pool was real nice too. They respected my privacy during my whole stay. Conveniently located not far from restaurants, convenient stores & gas stations.
Stayed overnight after my son's football game played against Tiffin University. The hotel staff were very polite and professional. The hotel smelled fresh and appeared very clean. Our room was spotless and we slept comfortably for our 1 night stay.
We spent a night at this BW on the way to Chicago from New York. We were moving, so had a car and a rental truck. Plenty of parking. Easy to find (about 15 minutes over the interstate). Friendly people at the front desk. I would have given it a "5," but breakfast was quite "meh" - though not offensive in any way.
There was a very obnoxious group of adults and kids being extremely loud, running up and down the hallways and stairs, adults were obviously intoxicated, and it was 11:30pm. Regardless of what time we had to be up in the morning (6am) it was still very loud. Called the front desk they said they couldn't do anything.. unbelievable! So I had to actually address them myself and ask the please quiet down. 2 out of like 7 were genuinely true. I appreciate that but the rest were hanging outside with the back door of the hotel open screaming and drinking. One of the ladies started to get a little confrontational. No one came to help as far as staff. The next morning, I went to the front desk to get corporates number. Walking back toward my room, I passed by a male worker and he said “The worker from last night is up front if you want to give her a hard time”. Are you serious. Very unprofessional and disrespectful to throw his coworker under the bus like that. Will not be staying here again. Excuse any typos lol and this was the 30th of April
The room was very nice and accommodated our needs. The bathroom was a bit small and the shower could've used a secondary curtain. Our stay would've been better had the jacuzzi tub rooms and hot tub been operational. Overall, it was nice. Would stay again in the future.
Wanted away from the everyday drama and stress was definitely worth it .. only had one issue but that wasn't the hotel's problem and that was kids yelling and running up and down the halls but over all it was a good and the guy that was at the front desk when I checked in was extremely nice :)
It looks like the hotel has bee updated since our last stay a few years ago, beds were comfy and clean. we came to town to see a terminally ill family member. they passed sooner than expected. we had to cut our stay short return to mi and come back again. they graciously helped us move the bookings with no extra fees.
The hallway smells stale. The rooms were old, the bathrooms did not have any vents, additionally, it's evident that the maids were not cleaning the rooms properly for there were many spider webs in corners, & from lamps to wall. However, I did not say anything b/c I know everyone is short staffed, plus it was the Christmas Holiday, and I don't usually stay there anyways.
Best western gave me a good bang for my Dollar it was clean the people were nice my only complaint is I would love to have gotten in that hot tub but the hours 5 to 10 we're not good other than that perfect perfect perfect
I always enjoy staying at this lodging facility as I head East on vacation every couple of years. This is perhaps the fourth time I have stayed here and as in the past, just like this recent trip it is a very clean, quiet and comfortable facility.
Friendly and relaxing. A great location on the edge of town and close to restaurants and limited shopping. A great hangout for Rail fans who love coming to Fostoria. Downtown has been refreshed with a mini park, lots of flowers and some interesting sculptures !
Allen was great and made my check in quick and efficient. The hotel was very clean, and even with Covid, they provided a good breakfast selection. They had a waffle set up to make fresh waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, and other grab and go options.
This hotel is filthy and has a distinct “dirty apartment” smell. The floors were gross. The drawers in the bedroom had leftover items in them (bras, clothing, video games) from the last guest. The box spring cover had what appeared to be semen stains on it. The toilet paper cutout was half assed and didn't fit into the wall correctly. The room was so outdated. The knobs for the shower and the shower head were nasty and appeared to be from 1990, which is probably when the rooms were last furnished. The hotel did not offer Saturday housecleaning. The breakfast offered was sad and limited, with stale muffins and frozen / cold items you can microwave. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The hallways smelled nasty and the floors everywhere were gross. Do not stay here. Never again.
We didn't have any problems during the stay. We made a small mess in the community microwave during breakfast & staff was there to happily clean it. Value for money was better than I was expecting. The drive to & from Cedar Point was not bad for this hotel, about 50 minutes.
Stayed here one night over holiday weekend. The pool and hot tub were closed, minimum breakfast no juice, NO ELEVATOR working, and noisy guests. At least the room was clean and the internet was ok. The bathroom area in the room had the sink in the room with the toilet and shower separate. Will not stay here again.
Had hoped to stay closer to Tiffin but found this Best Western to be the closest motel that made sense due to almost all motels in the area being sold out. Not sure why this one wasn't since the rates are very reasonable. It's only 15 - 20 minutes to Tiffin so no travel problem. Checked in without a problem and got Room 108 (queen) which was very close to the entrance. Room was decent sized, clean, and good bed. The shower looked like it was designed for disabled but didn't use it. Didn't use the refrigerator either (not stocked). Did use the coffee maker and it worked perfectly. TV was fine and Internet connectivity was responsive and easy to connect. Motel is right on US23 and north of town so very accessible to me as I was traveling from that state up north. They had a number of breakfast take-away items; looks like covid has changed breakfast for quite a while.
Being treated like family is the best ~ every part of the stay was great and the facility was clean and cheerful. Always am happy to get there and happy that we stayed there. Easy to get in and out of and plenty of parking spaces too.
This was our first time at this Best Western on our trip back to Canada from Tucson, AZ. This was our last stop in the US. The room was clean and tidy. The front desk receptionist could have been more helpful with room rates. This location is quite a bit off the beaten track, about 15 miles off the highway, but easy enough to get back on it through back roads without back tracking.
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak the hotel wasn't able to offer the usual hot breakfast but instead did offer grab and go items for breakfast. The pool room was closed and for health concerns housekeeping wasn't available as usual. Throughout all of these changes that were made for the safety of guests and staff I still give this hotel a 5☆ I have stayed there many times and even during a situation they had no control over the staff was still AMAZING as always!!!
The staff was very nice at this renovated hotel. Breakfast was good and a variety of items were offered. The room was a nice size, clean and the beds were comfortable. The water temperature and pressure were good. There was a refridgerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room.
Stayed here for business, the room was clean the check in staff friendly. Overall a good place to stay if your in the area. Room was clean and shower had good pressure. Overall I would stay again if in the area.
I was on a small trip in Ohio and decided to stay at this Best Western which was between my destinations. I was well greeted by Alan a very nice and personable fellow at the front desk. He was able to give me a room on the first floor at my request and also explained several nice places i town that I could easily walk to to get rid of the kinks from driving all day. The room was very clean and in very good condition. The bed was very nice and comfy and the heating unit was not unduly loud as they are in many places.
I stay at this property whenever in town visiting with friends. The hotel has completed it's renovations and looks great. All areas appear to be well maintained and Front Office and Housekeeping are very accommodating to special arrival needs. Ginger at the Front Desk is great!
About the only place to stay in Fostoria. Here for some railfanning for a couple of days. Hotel and rooms are nicely kept, there are restaurants and a gas station nearby. Price was what I would expect for this hotel.
If you're familiar with Fostoria you 1st think "Oh no...this place won't be good" but I was very pleasantly surprised. Good location, friendly staff, clean room. I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the area.
5th time staying at this location and I have never had any problems. Staff is always freindly, newly updated building, great rooms and pool/hot tub.great morning breakfast. Fantastic roadhouse near by.
Stayed here the first night of a week long road trip. Nice quiet hotel, excellent staff, good breakfast. We really enjoyed the pool. Lobby area was excellent for meeting friends and playing cards. Good value.
It has a great whirlpool and indoor pool! It is really nice to look forward to after a long trip or an energetic fun day. Also a perfect middle spot for different tourist attractions. The rooms are comfortable and include a recliner in the rooms and wonderful pillows on the very nice beds. All in all-I would positively recommend this one as a keeper in my future travels!
This place is a gem! Though a little out of the way for our event, it was well worth a longer car ride (30 minutes)! The property was very well maintained, our room was immaculate, the bed was so-o-o comfortable, you could hear a pin drop, complimentary hot/cold breakfast was perfect and we enjoyed chatting with Brenda who was so pleasant! Give this hotel a try...you won't be disappointed!
The hotel is dated, the furniture in rooms doesn't match and will remind you of your grandmothers house. But the room was clean and the help was pleasant. They also knew the area well to help us find a restaurant. That means a lot when you travel. We found the included breakfast tasty and with lots of selection. The price was right for this location.
Although an older motel, owners are making many improvements. Located near restaurants; easy finding location. Pretty indoor pool. Close to Tiffin and colleges (Tiffin University, Heidelberg University).
Clean, comfortable, great value! The front desk staff is amazing and very accommodating. We had a large group and everyone was very satisfied. It's a quiet location, very nice pool, and it was the best sleep in a hotel I've ever had.
This hotel was a nice and affordable find. Trying to find an affordable place to stay near Cedar Point is absolutely impossible until I google mapped "hotels in northern ohio" and found this one. It is in a small down down a state route quite a ways. It is not a resort hotel and the breakfast is worth skipping honestly but the front desk staff was lovely, the room was large and clean and the wifi worked great! Would appreciate automatic doors for the entrance though. very complicated juggling suitcases and opening 2 doors into the property.
Everything was amazing, except rooms need a little updating. Pool was great. Hot tub felt amazing. It's worth the money. Breakfast was great for the kids. All around great experience for the third time.
The Best Western Fostoria provided a great stay at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was more than adequate. Rooms were spacious. Staff was helpful. We will certainly stay there again when we are in the area.
I made a mistake on my reservation and the Night Auditorand Front Desk Supervisor were very accommodating in fixing it. Housekeeping and Food and Beverages were excellent. This property is clearly well-managed. Kudo's to the General Manager! I'll be back.
hotel staff nice enough, hotel rooms very dirty and old. entire hotel needs updated. not what i expected since having stayed here so many times before the pool are was clean just needed a few more towels.
Great, clean place to stay at. I was there to watch trains at the park and you get a discount for staying at the Best Western. Friendly employees. Desk chairs were kinda hard to move around in but other than that, the room that I was in was great!
We stay here every year for our family reunion and my children look forward to it each year. We love the friendly staff, clean rooms and the kids love the pool. We'll be back next year! It's become part of our family tradition.
When we checked in the front desk lady was very rude and not friendly. She continued that way on both of our days there. If you don't like your job, then find a new one. You are in customer service!!! The pool area was fine although we were told that we weren't allowed to bring drinks into the area, even though there were tables in there. Not sure what you would do with the tables if you couldn't have food or drinks. I think grown adults should be able to take a drink into the pool area. The breakfast wasn't anything special but met our needs for a quick bite. The carpet in our room was dirty. After walking on it for a short time my feet were black. The plug by the a/c unit had some type of black yucky mold around them. We stay at Best Westerns all the time and this one is the worst. We are coming back to the area for business in the fall and WILL NOT be staying there.
Staff was FABULOUS, every one of them. Rooms are very mundane; the carpet was very worn in my room. Pricing is a bit high for such a small town and average accommodations. It was nice to be able to have a couple of grand-nephews who live locally be able to use the pool.
Nice place to stay when visiting Fostoria for business or pleasure. Free WiFi. Refrigerator in every room, nice single cup beverage maker. Breakfast is not too good if you are gluten free but there are quite a few choices
pool did not use breakfast good older building but very well updated rooms were clean staff was on point easy check in rooms were ready at 3 pm check in only bad point no eleavator okay for our group but maybe not for an older crowd
Breakfast is ok. Rooms are ok. The tub didn't drain very fast so that was gross. Overall the place was slightly less than average but the staff was very friendly. No gym since they remodeled. No elevator.
This is one of the few hotels in Fostoria. Located right at the edge of town on US 23. The hotel furniture and decor fit with the midwest US town it is located in. New carpet throughout and a recent redesign to enlarge the breakfast area is a nice addition. The rooms come with free breakfast (which fits the standard stereotype breakfast that would be eaten here... eggs, biscuits, sausage and gravy...) with the addition of instant oatmeal packages and pastries. The hotel offers a limited fruit selection (bananas and apples), coffee and tea and upon request non-dairy milk substitutes. The staff are friendly and the swimming pool is warm.
Had a dozen rooms for work, hotel was clean, modern and the staff was very good. Breakfast is ok - standard for chains of this type - would say here again. There is no elevator, so you may want to consider that if you need one.
Housekeeping staff where very friendly and attentive to the guests. Interior of the property is very clean and appeared to be well attended to. The lack of a fitness center was very disappointing. Lights over the desk did not work and the shower head either didn't work properly or was poor in quality.
We were in the area for my brother's wedding. The staff at this hotel were all very friendly and accommodating they went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as they could. The rooms were clean and well kept. Breakfast was a little sparse, but what was available was fresh and hot.
If you are in Fostoria this is the place to stay. If you are a railfan this hotel is especially convenient as it is only minutes away from all the railroading action. The staff are used to railfans staying here too so you won't get strange looks carrying camera equipment back to the room at night and back to the car in the morning. Rooms at this hotel are clean, beds comfy, and the staff always friendly. If you can handle the stairs get a room upstairs as you can hear lots of footsteps from the guest above if you stay on the main floor. My only wish was that there was more than just an office chair in the room. The 2 queen sized bed rooms have no place for anyone to sit except 1 chair at the desk. Kids, spouse, friends etc have watch tv or eat a snak on the bed.
First time staying at this location. My group was going to Cedar Point and the drive was about an hour away. Our room very clean and beds super comfortable. There were four of us staying in the room and we had plenty of room and did not feel cramped. We use the pool and hot tub and found everything there in good working order. The breakfast and dining area were impressive. The assortment of breakfast items, including gluten and dairy free, were a very pleasant surprise. I would definitely stay here again!
Check in was good, we were able to use the hot tub and pool even though it was after hours. Informed the check out clerk of bites my husband incurred throughout the night and he had absolutely zero to say, not even I'm sorry for that or anything!! Not only that but he was sitting down the entire time he waited on me, not very professional in my opinion. Also this hotel doesn't have an elevator??!!
Bottom line is that this is the only hotel in Fostoria so they charge you what they like. If there was some competition the price would be at least 50%. But hotel is ok - nothing exceptional. Breakfast is like at a cheap motel.
I've stayed in lots worse. I was disappointed there was no elevator. I had to carry all my bags up the stairs. Breakfast was eatable but nothing to brag about. I was here in the area for work and was limited where I could stay. But overall stay was ok.
I go to Kokomo, Ind. every September to a Viet Nam veterans reunion and I have stayed at this hotel the past 6 years and have been very pleased with the hotel and would recommend staying there when ever you may be in that area.
This was the third visit to the Best Western in Fostoria, Ohio. Each time seems better than the last. The desk staff is outstanding, very helpful and even assisting with location of local restaurants and other venues. The housekeeping staff does a great job taking care of the room. The breakfast staff is very attendant to make sure items are replaced as they run out.
Stayed here last year for the annual Railfest. Room was nice and clean as was overall hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Used the pool, which was clean and well maintained. Definitely plan on staying here anytime we come to town. Would recommend this place to anyone.
They were remodeling the hotel and installing carpeting in the hallway by our room. We were told they may be knocking on our door to check the entry with the new carpet, but they were finished by the time we checked in. Our reserved room was not ready but they gave us an alternative room with handicap access, which was fine.
Nice place to stay. Undergoing some renovations at present but we were not disturbed by any noise. Our room had already been renovated. Only problem with this hotel is there is no elevator if you get a room on the second floor and have mobility issues. Breakfast is nice.
The lobby was still going through a renovation when I was there, but was starting to look pretty nice; my room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast offerings were a bit limited. Most of the railroads running through Fostoria are on the other side of town; I wasn't bothered by train noise.
the best western Fostoria inn was a great place to stay. if your in town to chase trains like we were, it was well located, clean and very comfortable. it was nice to have a cool room to come back to after being in 90 degree heat all day.
Good value. Great location. Very nice room. (I think we got the penthouse suite) Motel going thru a "refurb." New carpet, tile, doors, lighting and common areas in midst of an upgrade. A little confusing. Needed blanket. Staff was courteous and helpful.
For the most part everything was adequate despite what appears to be the ending of a renovation. Parking on site, complimentary breakfast could stand some upgrades, but was fresh and adequate for a quick meal. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and accommodating to specific needs when asked. Property allowed early check-in which was helpful to my traveling needs and supplied most of my preferences as indicated in my guest reservation.
Excellent hotel, other that the hot tub was broken. Staff said that they were waiting for heater part. Excellent location in Fostoria to visit the Railroad park, and watch trains. Fast food were close to hotel.
Had a friend show up while I was staying at the BW in Fostoria, Ohio. Hotel was all filled up. No room anywhere. An hour later I called to ask if they could put a roll-away bed in my room for my friend. The lady answering the phone was the same one he had originally talked to and she had located a room for him at the inn. That's GREAT customer service
Best place in town being spruced up. Noticed my room rate dropped $15 after I checked in. Whatever. Railfan park a mile or so away. Free wifi and breakfast. Eating places just up the street. CSX track department took half the rooms.
We stayed here one night while visiting the Fostoria area Only real place in town They are remodeling the hotel Think it'll be fairly nice when done The front desk staff were all very nice Property has no elevator You'll have to carry your stuff upstairs We stayed in king bedded suite Room had obviously been remodeled The set up was a little strange Had huge hot tub in bedroom No towels or towel rack there There's a sofa bed in living room The sofa bed was very thin and springy Would be uncomfortable for an adult There's the old type of heating and cooling wall units in the rooms Even though room was recently re done There was stains on carpet And the walls by hottub had peeling paint and stained walls The king bed was comfortable The hotel had previously allowed Smoking You can still smell some when air conditioner was on The hotel sits next to a home There were some really Barky dogs there You can hear train horns in the hotel Pool was nice Hot tub was out of order No vending machines on site Breakfast area was clean Nice selection for continental breakfast Historically we've stayed in outlying cities when visiting area If you're not overly picky the hotel is fine If you notice surface dirt and wear to rooms or are a light sleeper may want to stay outside the city
I will never attempt to stay at Best Western ever again. Worst experience ever. We had a group of people going and was treated like garabage and threw away hundreds of dollars because they don't hold their employees accountable.
The hotel is located outside of town. It is clean and the staff is friendly. The pool was very nice for indoor activity during winter months. Breakfast was filling as they had hot items and a waffle maker. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through or to Fostoria.
This location was suggested by other railfans visiting Fostoria's Rail Park. Although remodeling was going on, the room was updated and clean. I will recommend this location to all railfans visiting Fostoria.Be sure to tell the front desk you are a railfan visiting the Rail Park.
We feel welcome and warm when we stay here. Always get waited on hand and foot. they go the extras mile every time and we appreciate the kind and caring service. A home away from home for us. We make a lot of connections there just because of the friendly atmosphere.
I appreciate having this hotel available in m hometown so I can visit friends and family and have a quiet, clean space to stay in that I can count on. I liked the room and accommodations and will stay here for all of my future visits "home" .
Rooms need improvement regarding cleanness. Rooms smell like many people have smoke in the room. Hall ways a lot smell like smoke. Hotel lighting needs improvement. Lobby is very dated. Sofas are extremely old. Hotel looks very dated.
After officiating the state wrestling two day tournament , I was looking forward to getting into their hot tub by the pool! It was a life saver for my lower back! My back was hurting so bad that I may not have been able to preform at my best performance, which is expected of official's at state tournaments! There was also a restaurant in the city of Fostoria, Ohio called KemoSabes and the steaks were great! Would make a trip back, just to eat there again!
This has been my second stay at this hotel and each time the staff went out of their way to make sure that i had an enjoyable experience for myself and my mates. My group has held numerous get together s at this hotel and will continue to hold future outings at this fine establishment.
Beds aren't overly comfortable, but it will do for an overnight stay. Decent breakfast and rooms were clean. Friendly staff. Pool area was nice, along with a hot tub. Work out room is minimal. Overall, it's a decent place to make a stop.
Travel home for thanksgiving holiday with my son and my mom. Really only close hotel for Fostoria. But it's nice and convenient to stay there. A little pricey for small town but the hotel is nice. The smoking room was very smokey. Maybe work to get that fresher. But then again I don't normally get a smoking room.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfy. Hotel could use a bit of updating: new carpet, touch up painting, slight maintenance, etc. I will definitely be using this hotel again in the future!
It was a very pleasant stay overall. My room was clean and the staff was very friendly. The shower head had great pressure the the water stream felt amazing. It was a very restful night. Breakfast was average.. waffles, sausage patties and scrambled eggs that looked like little Frisbee's. I suppose they were OK but I didn't try them. I had the waffles and sausage patties. My only concern was that I had a truck pulling a trailer and the parking lot was a little small. But I found a place to park it so all was good. Overall it was a great experience.
The hotel had 2 entrances (the main and the one at the end of the hallway near the rooms). Fast check in and out. Great hotel. Very comfortable and cozy. We always stay here when we travel to Fostoria Railroad Park!
Hotel is a comfortable place to stay when in town. I always enjoy visiting Fostoria. This trip the city water had issues but that is no fault of Best Western. They did supply commercial ice which was a plus in my book.
Superb facility on the North side of town. Located near shopping and restaurants. This is a very clean motel, inside and out. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good breakfast in the morning. They are one of the sponsors for the Railfan Park here in Fostoria. Spent 4 nights here, and will again. Highly recommended!
I travel there twice a year to rail fan with a group of friends from West Virginia, Michigan Florida, &, hio Fostoria is a friendly little town with a rail history like no other. The Best Western Motel is a great place to stay.
We only needed to stay one night. We were in town for a class reunion. The hotel was great, rooms clean, lots of room, pool area clean. But we did have a small issue at check in. There was no one at the front desk. I called and rang the bell on the desk. But I still waited about 10 minutes for someone to check us in. Other than that we had a nice comfortable stay.
Stayed here for only 1 night. The hotel was very very clean, staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was very nice, clean and the beds were comfy. The pool mmmmm the indoor pool and hot tub was very nice and super clean! I will definitely stay here next year on our family trip.
Good visit, room was clean and orderly. Check in was fast and staff was friendly, the only stayed over night so didn't get to enjoy the pool. Breakfast was free and well stocked. Only complaint is bathroom was quite small.
My Wife, adult daughter and I stayed 4 nights in the Fostoria Best Western while we visited in the area. I cannot say enough good things about the friendly, helpful staff. The accomodations were clean,. The room was tastefully decorated. I have a slight handicap so I appreciated the easy access to everything in the hotel. They serve an excellent light breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, juices, milk, coffee). Did I mention it is free! They have a pool and exercise room which is very well maintained and clean. WiFi was easy to access and fast. All in all, an excellent place to take your family on either a business or pleasure trip. I don't even bother to look for another hotel when I visit the area. I've always been happy with BW.
We visited the hotel for my son and husband to railfan at the nearby Fostoria Rail Park. The hotel is very close to the park, and they will provide you with written directions. We were very satisfied with our stay. The room was clean and had a microwave and refrigerator. The lobby area was nice. We did not use the pool, but it looked nice and clean.
Courteous and helpful desk people . The main turn of was the very strong smell of pesticide. The carpet in the rooms and beds has to be changed also. They look worn out. Asides from that I would rate it as decent with decent breakfast. Did not use the pool. The Mexican restaurant across the street has a fabulous "margarita and coronita"
Hotel staff could care less about your business. Maids are good and rooms are clean. Pool is kept clean and warm. Very unhappy with quality of handi-cap rooms. Also-hotel has become a smoking ok hotel. Hall ways stink
A great place to stay if you enjoy railfanning. It's close to the tracks and the Fostoria Rail Park easily assessable. They have an exercise room, hot tub and pool which is well cared for. The breakfast is very well prepared and was very tasty.
Drove 500 miles to fostoria reservations in place, check-in was quick and easy. Room was spotless and very comfortable . The free breakfast was very good and the wonderful lady in charge of it was very helpful in suggesting other places to visit. I will stay there again the next time the iron triangle rail park beckons me .
Asked for towels early in the morning and they said they were out. I've never experienced that before. We had to use our dirty towels from the day before. Also, kids were running up and down the halls on the second floor, all night long. Put people with kids on the first floor! Also, no elevator and no washer and dryer available. And clumps of hair were floating around in the hot tub.
This is a decent hotel, the staff is wonderful, however, our room was in need of a major cleaning. There was a burn hole in the bedspread, even though it was a non-smoking room. There were makeup stains on the pillows, the floors had not been vacuumed, I found clumps of mud and food crumbs everywhere. Also there was a thick layer of dust in the vents. The common areas were fine, the breakfast was great. The cost of the room is too high for the quality of the room.
Rooms and service were excellent, and the pool/Jacuzzi area was very nice. Had a great stay. The only thing I would say could've been a little better was the breakfast. It wasn't bad, but a couple of the hot items were cold.
Nice clean hotel with meeting room space and big pool area. Good breakfast with more food selection than the norm. Great people who seem to care about the customers. The hot tub was hot too. Only recommendation, put family with running kids on first floor. Less impact noise.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. A little pricy and the pool was a too cold, but overall okay. The staff was very nice and helpful. On the way in I was able to phone and get our room number so I could order pizza for when we got there. It was helpful as it was getting to be late for dinner and we were starving.
We stayed there for a funeral. The lady at the breakfast area went above and beyond to help people. She retrieved some of the unused news papers from the recycling bin for us, so that we could have some extra copies of the obituaries. She was also very helpful to one of the disabled guests, making her a waffle and getting her food.
have stayed here a number of times while watching trains, a good place to stay. breakfast is adequate with a variety of cereals, waffle maker, sausage gravy & biscuit. also yogurts. usa today is complementary. the staff were friendly & helpful. the pool & small triangular jacuzzi. the heating unit is about a quiet as they get very capable. looking forward to another stay.
Every room and hallway smelled of smoke or incense. I walked into my room after a smelly walk down the hall over aged carpets, I had to open the window. I was actually coughing from the smell. TV select wasn't what was on the card. Had to call to get HBO. Still couldn't find the Ohio St. Football game on the few channels that worked. Asked twice to see a bill showing the discount I received, still don't know if I got the correct ones, price seems high. I couldn't wait to leave. Breakfast could use some updating. Very limited selections. No elevator, so if you have luggage, get a first floor room.
The whole hotel smelled of smoking, in the rooms and the hallways. If I come back to Fostoria, I'm staying in the next town down the road. The breakfast could use some updating. The staff was pleasant and did get onto problems I reported.
We were in Fostoria for a class reunion and stayed at this hotel. We had been there before and liked it. It is convenient and met all of our needs. The breakfast buffet was good. We did not make use of the other amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable.
A great place to stay. Don't fail to mention you're there to railfan for a discount. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were extremely clean. The breakfast was very good with a wide choice of food. The exercise room is a little cramped, but can hold up to three people. They have a wonderful Hot Tub and pool also. The motel is within several eating establishments and a Big K. Overall a great place to stay.
I'm a senior and a veteran and they told mr when I booked that they do not honor best western discount rates. They are affiliated but not a real best western and don't have to. They charged me 100.00 a night and honestly, I should have booked at the nearby holiday inn express for that rate, at least they are worth the extra cost. They smile when they screw you and glad hand you all the way through the check in. Stay here if you love people who hate veterans and seniors.
I can't express enough how good service makes or breaks a stay. This hotel had Alan (i believe was his name) He promptly and politely took care of any request we had. The service was much better here than any of the other 3 Best Westerns we had stayed at on this trip! The Rooms were great - the service was great - it was near perfect - one suggestion --- Ohio allows smoking indoors - we shouldn't have to walk through a smokers hallway to get to our non smoking rooms. Other than that - this hotel is a near perfect.
In town for an event and found this hotel to be reasonably priced, good location, very clean, nice people, not bad breakfast. I don't want to rave about this place and make it more than it is, but you can be fairly assured that you won't be miserable about the room, bed, bathroom and hotel operators. The person at the door was pleasant, the cleaning staff, and the lady who made the waffles for us in the morning. (Ive always just experienced "do it yourself" with those waffle machines). Her efficiency and help made the breakfast go quickly.
I stayed here as it was the most convenient hotel for visiting the Railfan Park. It was a fairly basic Best Western, but that said the room was comfortable and had everything I needed and the breakfast was adequate with a reasonable variety of items. I also liked the approach to security with the side door requiring a key to access throughout my stay, not something that I usually find. At a price of comfortably under $100 I thought it reasonable value for money.
