Best Western Plus Hotel Fernie Mountain Lodge, Fernie

This is the best place to stay in Fernie if you're passing through these parts. The hot breakfast in the morning is a nice touch as well, Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, and they have a Boston Pizza attached to the hotel for a great dinner.

We have never been in Fernie before, beautiful, mountains right there for a amazing view. We attended just before full vacation season in place, the summer ski chairlift sightseeing ride was not open yet, dang it! Hotel room was excellent in every way. Again, back to the amenities questions below, the world is moving on from Covid. We wore masks but were the only ones. The other questions are to random that I neve payed attention to.

locations were great, stayed in salmon arm,fernie and osoyoos,rooms were clean and well stocked with essentials.salmon arm breakfast was okay,fernie and osoyoos was very good.did not try salmon arm spa and pool.fernie pool nice ,hot tub needs up grade.osoyoos pool and spa okay, the work out area very high humidity, no air flow..I would stay at these locations.

This hotel never disappoints. We have stayed many times. It is in a good location. The staff are always very friendly, the hotel is very clean. The rooms and beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good. What more could you ask for?

We had a trip unexpectedly cut short so we stopped in, on a Saturday night, in the hopes of getting a room.....we also had 2 little dogs with us! The front desk staff were amazing and we got an awesome room. We ended up staying a second night!

We enjoyed staying here. Polite staff, clean room, easy access to everything. Pretty view from the windows. Friendly staff. Kind of pricey but Fernie is a resort town and we stayed during skiing season.

The rooms were nice, we stayed in a king room on the top floor. Nice view of the mountains. Hot tub and pool area was nice, they have an outdoor hot tub that is average size that is nice. Breakfast had lots of variety, there was hot food like hash browns and sausages. We also went to Boston pizza, it's attached to the hotel. Starbucks, Tim hortons and McDonald's is walking distance and there's a grocery store close by. It was a very nice stay

We stayed twice in a period of a week. The first night exceptional service, was upgraded as a diamond select.. On our way back the worst service!!! The rude old lady at the desk wasn't so nice this time no upgrade even though I asked she yelled at me as she walked away . The next day after breakfast which was just ok I went to the desk to check out and discuss yesterdays check in and the desk clerk didn't look like he worked there, no tie disheveled looking with an Aussie accent. Started making excuss for the terrible service and I told him that I was in hospitality management and that was not the way to treat customer's. A wise manager was said to me a fish stinks at the head first! DO NOT STAY!!!!

extremely expensive for what u get. I had 2 rooms did not get any discount for being a gold Best western member. go to another hotel there are lots paid 260.00 a room counter desk was not pleasant room was just ok. breakfast had a staff on hand to make breakfast for you but they did not fill any of the buffet containers

Hi Christine. You were given Best Western Rewards discounts for both rooms. Further, your bookings were last-minute / same-day arrivals and when you arrived, we were nearly sold out, so the remaining rooms had increased in price. Prices are based on occupancy and Monday is our busiest day because that's when the contractors arrive for the week. I do apologize about breakfast - I will chat to the staff about ensuring there is ample food during operating hours.

made a mistake booking this hotel. didn't notice it was one month in the future. so, arrived and was told no reservation, no changing, no refund. international multimillion dollar hotel chain would not change the date of a reservation nor refund the incorrect reservation. arrived late in the day so we took a room anyway that turned out to cost more than double the reservation we had the next month. so we are still charged for the original reservation and the one night we stayed. well over $400 for one night in this hotel. BUYER BEWARE...THIS HOTEL IS GREEDY.

These terms and conditions are displayed upon making the reservation. Generally, bookings of this nature are less expensive because you cannot change/cancel them. In future, if you make future reservations online, I recommend that you read the terms and conditions, to avoid similar scenarios to this. Thank you.

Easy check in and check out. Amazing breakfast. Great location. Clean and professional establishment. Next to grocery and liquor store. Indoor and outdoor hot tub was nice. Gym is ok but needs more free weights but has enough to get sweat on.

this is a comfortable and attractive hotel with magnificent views of the mountains. it is easy to find and easy to get to. lots of amenities close by. we loved the fireplace in the room and the bed was very comfortable with lovely sheets and pillows and duvet. We liked the pillows so much we asked about buying some.

Stayed here 2 nights and wow this is a great place. hand sanitizer everywhere even in elevators. nice indoor hot tub and pool, but even better a outside hot tub. room was very nice and big and clean. breakfast was amazing and freshly cooked onsite.

I booked our stay at the Best Western several months prior to our arrival, as Best Western Member which I have been for years. I did not use points during our booking and cancellation was ok up until October 7th, which was fine. We had no intention of canceling, however I had some gift cards that I wanted to apply to my stay. I called the hotel and let them know this and the gal I spoke to said she would speak to the manager but that they should be able to apply them to our stay. We arrived the hotel and I was told by the check in gal (Joanne) that our stay was non refundable and that they would not be able to apply our gift cards. I thought since it was our 30th wedding anniversary that perhaps we could upgrade to the Premier room so when we checked our room we opened the door, but did not walk into the room. I went straight to the reception and asked about the upgrade. Joanne refused and said that no changes could be made. Not only did I find her unfriendly, but unwilling to make our anniversary a memorable one. Despite the room being very clean and the hotel one of the nicer ones in town, I would not stay here again. While I appreciate a good clean hotel, the experience is just as important. There is nothing I feel is outstanding or memorable about this hotel.

Hi there. The type of reservation you booked was a pre-paid, non-refundable, non-cancellable rate. In the terms and conditions of those bookings, it outlines that gift cards are not redeemable. The front desk manager, Mark, attempted to contact you about this on Sunday, 10 October, prior to your arrival but there was no answer. Regarding the room upgrade, there was no option for this because the next tier of rooms was sold out. Given it was your anniversary, we assigned you to the highest floor, with a mountain-facing view, as farther away from the elevator as possible. Considering no upgrades were available and the booking you made was a non-changeable one, we tried to get you the best room we could during your stay. I apologize that you had a negative experience. If you make any future bookings and plan to redeem gift cards to the said bookings, I urge you to read the stipulations in order to avoid similar scenarios to this.

The hotel is nice, outdoor hot tub is a really nice touch. Location is great. Bit on the high end for price, breakfast included but it wasn't good. Rooms were clean, pool and hot tub were awesome. Will likely stay again due to location

Early check-in was provided and the rooms were all in the same location as requested. The hotel staff are very friendly and service was impeccable! The hotel was extremely clean and the breakfast which was included was excellent!!

This hotel is in a great location. Close to amenities, great views, and very welcoming. Within walking distance to some great restaurants. The in room fireplace was a nice touch. The room was spacious and well equipped with a fridge, microwave and a comfortably deep bath tub. Great for a private soak after a day of hiking.

I would stay here ANYTIME! Clean, beautiful hotel. You are close to everything here and minutes from the ski hill. There are walking trails nearby as well. Fairy Creek Falls is close by and a hike, easy hike.

Stayed here- was pleasantly surprised! Great views and great location! About a 14 min walk to downtown Fernie Free hot breakfast included. We chose the suite which was nicely furnished with updated decor and clean. Very polite and helpful staff. Ample free parking available

this location is over priced for what you get they increase the room prices for the summer months Tourist Trap there are other hotel in the area for way less priced I would look around first before booking with this BW

Hi Peter, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I apologize that you found the rooms to be overpriced. Please keep in mind that Fernie is a popular ski town and summer is our busiest time of the year, so room prices are going to be higher than usual. Also, you were aware of the price when you made the reservation / prior to arriving.

We were stranded in town after our vehicle breaking down and this was the only hotel we could get a room at.The room was $300/night which was a total money grab. There was nothing special about the room to warrant the $300, just a typical room. The AC in the room rattled every time it turned on, and for some reasons the hallways in the hotel were super warm, so the AC ran ALL NIGHT LONG. The beds in the room both squeaked so every time someone moved you could hear it, and then to top it off after a restless night, the breakfast was horrible. While there were many options to chose from, they weren't any good. The eggs were cooked properly (runny and wet) they potatoes were over cooked (dry) and not condiments to put on them, and I don't even know what the sausages where. In the morning when we checked out, I expressed my concerns to the manager, and we didn't even get a simple "sorry" he just said "ok" I also asked for an additional 30-1hour late check out until our ride could pick us up, and it was a flat out no - with no suggestions on what we could do until our ride came, so we just sat in the lobby....this hotel made a really bad today even worse for us. It was a total waste of money.

Hi Lindsey, I am sincerely sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the breakfast and that the staff were unaccommodating. Hopefully we can hire new staff soon, in order to provide a better breakfast experience for guests. In terms of the room being over $300 per night, summer is our busiest season. We have been sold out or close to it for weeks, so the more rooms we sell, the more expensive they become. As such, rooms are usually the most expensive for same-day arrivals / last-minute walk-ins. I'm unsure whether the A/C or squeaky bed issues were reported to the staff. If not, please promptly notify the staff as we could have moved you to a different room. Regarding the late check-out, when we are busy and understaffed (our current situation), late check-outs or early check-ins are seldom granted. It's too much pressure on housekeeping. The front office manager advised that you could keep your luggage in the guest storage room, and he also recommended different walks around the river that you could have done while you waited for your ride. As a token of my apology for everything you encountered, I awarded 2000 bonus points on to your Best Western Rewards account. From check-in right through to check-out, we couldn't fault with the hotel. The amazing staff at the front desk and housekeeping. I would like to suggest that you get the people working behind the front desk and the older lady housekeeper some skates. In the morning both of them were up and down the stairs faster than we could come down using the elevator. Oh one more thing thanks for letting my wife know about the Sunday market, we left with a lot of cool items,

We took a last minute trip get away . We couldn't have been more impressed. The hotel staff are exceptional here. We felt 100% taken care of from arrival to departure. The front desk staff were great. They helped us with things to do in town and great places to eat. We will be coming back in winter after talking to the Australia guy, and trying fat-bikking and skiing.

My company's third party travel solution booked me for work at this facility for 5 nights. Apparently, my family came along with me to this hotel, although I have informed my work that my family of five is coming along, my manager and me forgot to inform my booking agent to change the number of person arriving in this hotel. Upon arrival to Best Western in Fernie, the manager (Mark Hill) rejected my booking as they are only allowing four people in the room that I was booked. He assumed that I intentionally tried to bring in 5 people for the 4 people room per the fire code. It was a stressful situation to find another place as I only stay at Hilton or Marriott as I am diamond and once platinum member of these higher grades hotels. I was also told that I have to pay one night if I cancel, although I have no control over cancelling as I did not cancel nor came late. It was a mistake that I did not inform them ahead of time that I am coming with five people, but it was not my intention to sneak in one more person into my hotel booking. The way the manager dealt with me was not very helping, although I told him that I don't mind going to a bigger room, but they have no bigger room available. He offered me a second room, but this was not an option for me this would defeat the purpose of bonding as one family. Luckily I convinced him to let me stay for one night and the next day I will find another place. The next day I could not even get an hour extension considering my situation. Luckily, I found another Hotel (Park Place Lodge), and I'm glad I did, as the replacement hotel was way way way better than Best Western here in Fernie. Park Place Hotel is way cleaner, friendlier, and breakfast is amazing. My family were treated well and we felt like we were at home. From no on I will avoid Best Western in Fernie and I am also including other locations based on what I experienced with Fernie location.

Hi there, We only have 2 room types that accommodate 5-6 people (family suites). During summer, these rooms quickly sell out, as we have an abundance of families staying with us. Had you told your booking agent the correct number of family members that accompanied you, this could have been sorted out prior to your arrival, as you're aware. In future (at any hotel) please ensure that the correct number of guests are recorded, to avoid scenarios like this happening again. We're not the only hotel that has a small number of family suites in their room inventory. It was incredibly kind of Mark to allow all of you to stay in a non-family suite, given it violates fire codes (we could lose our licence and be shut down if anything went wrong). Regarding the late check-out extension, these need to be arranged ahead of time, as they are granted based on housekeeping staff. In other words, when we're busy and understaffed (our current situation), late check-outs and early check-ins are seldom granted. Thank you for taking the time to complete this review.

Bedroom didn't smell fresh and clean, and the breakfast was quite disappointing (potatoes were not fully cooked, no fruit available, cream cheese and waffles only available if you asked for them but no visible, I was only able to ask for that because I saw it on other tables, table was not clean and one could see traces of dirt from the dirty towel with which someone wiped the table, etc. etc...) Not going back to this chain of hotels.

I apologize that you had an unsatisfactory experience. As mentioned in my previous response to you (yesterday), none of the issues that you outlined were reported. If you encounter issues during your stay at any hotel in the future, please report them promptly. That way, the staff will at least be presented with options to improve your stay i.e. moving you to another room. If nothing is reported, then nothing has a chance of being fixed.

Nice clean hotel. Good location. Good internet and continental breakfast, helpful staff. Pool not the most exciting but if you travel to fernie you shouldn't be going for the hotel pool experience anyways.

As always a comfortable hotel situated just off the highway in Fernie. Good amenities, although the breakfast could be a lot better. The rooms are comfortable and clean, while the staff are very helpful.

This is an excellent property with excellent views of the mountains. The property is well maintained and it has an indoor pool. The nightly rental rate is higher than elsewhere but if you are lucky enough to get a room with a view it may be worth the extra dollars. The breakfast provided was better than average.

Thank you for your lovely review. Sorry that you didn't get the view you hoped for. Rooms are assigned the night before arrival and some room types only face one direction e.g. golf course side. Still, we appreciate you taking the time to complete this review and hope you return one day.

The clerk had very poorly fitting mask. This suggests a lack of concern in other important areas of guest safety should be expected. Covid safety became an immediate concern and provided a general discomfort for the stay and moving in the hotel.

I apologize about the clerk's loose-fitting mask. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have diligently abided by government-mandated laws and Best Western's policies and procedures, surrounding COVID-19. Further, on 10 March 2021, we passed a Work Safe BC Inspection Report. Disposable masks are provided to guests and staff if needed. However, the front desk is situated behind a row of plexiglass, so extra safeguards are in place in light of a loose mask. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

I was a bit unsure about staying in a hotel during COVID, but I found the hotel handled everything very well. The rooms were cleaner and def more modern than other places we have stayed at in Fernie, it was easy to book pool time with the kids (and pretty awesome to have it to ourselves for a full hour) and the hot breakfast was better (and faster) than what I was expecting - I would recommend

We had room 321- balcony and fire place with king bed. Wonderful room. Clean. Easy check in. The room was right outside the elevator so very loud very early with guests and housekeeping carts. No easy sleep in in this room. Shower Is wheelchair equipped- great pressure but unless you use all of your towels to soak up the water it will end up in your entrance and out the bottom of your front door. Private hot tub or pool time as available. Overall, nice stay. Very nice view. Comfy bed and wonderful fireplace. Just a bit loud. Especially in this room and messy with the shower.

Amazing staff, very helpful and professional. Room clean and super comfortable. The king size bed, wow! It was like sleeping on a cloud. They adapt breakfast because of Covid-19. You can have a bacon/sausage bagel with egg or vegetarian option also. With yogourt, muffin, juice, coffee, fruit. We really enjoyed our stay!

This hotel is impeccably clean, staff is super friendly and accommodating, it's in a great location, nice rooms, comfy beds etc, etc. However the walls are paper thin. We could hear the family in the room next to us talking early in the morning, and they weren't being loud or disrespectful in any way. We could hear the water in the pipes all night. Not a big deal we will simply pack earplugs for our next visit.

Got in my room and the bathroom smells. Good thing I brought Lysol and it deadens the smell. I was here for business so I didn't have time to report the problem right away as I basically come to the hotel for the night. But I did mention it during check- out.

Stayed for a weekend with our 2 young boys. Everyone was fantastic and even though Covid restrictions are in place they did a great job of managing them. We got to enjoy the pool and hot tubs and enjoyed the great breakfast each morning.

This hotel exceeded expectations for a Best Western. The guest room was really large (larger than many upscale hotels I have stayed in) and well-appointed. The lobby was welcoming with a lit fireplace. The ambience of the hotel fit very well with the mountain town we were in. The staff were pleasant and check in was very quick. With COVID being a concern, they had all the things in place I would expect during these unprecedented times. I felt like the property had taken all the precautions necessary and made us aware of how we could access the pool/hot tub by booking it for our own individual use. The hotel is situated on the highway that runs through Fernie but did not hear any traffic whatsoever in our room. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Fernie.

Check in was efficient and courteous. Our stay was during COVID and the hotel was very quiet with limited services. Nice room with comfortable beds, linens and thick towels. Happy to report they offer a complimentary HOT delicious breakfast wrap, fresh fruit, juices, muffins - all to go. One of the better hotels in Fernie. Highly recommend and would stay again if in the area.

After driving all day and late into the night, the BW Fernie was a welcome sight. The front desk staff were quick and compassionate on check in. Our suite was clean and a very welcome sight late at night. After a good night's sleep, check out was quick and we enjoyed the packaged breakfast that was provided to us. Really nice Hotel with clean rooms very friendly staff. A little pricey but considering the time of year to be expected. Close to everything coffee shop, liquor store & a restaurant on site with good food. MT

Limited but friendly/helpful staff who are spread thin. Poor grab and go breakfast options- could do better even during COVID- especially since they are still advertising a ‘good breakfast is included'. No Keurigs in rooms as advertised. Pool area was not being cleaned as often as it should (just around drain still there the next day), guests are expected to wipe down the furniture themselves but are not doing it.

Fabulous bed and pillows. Superb customer service. Excellent cleanliness lobby, room, areas of hot tubs, swimming pool. Very COVID conscious. Can't wait to return. The mountain views from room were breathtaking. Near lots shopping and restaurants.

Would recommend! Nice cool temperature rooms with soft pillows and a warm blanket PET FRIENDLY was really great! Amazing views of the mountains and surrounding area. Train horn can faintly be heard throughout the day and night but not a lot. It really helped too with all the stores and restaurants that were near by

This hotel is so comfortable and clean and the staff is awesome! Kelly at the front desk always smiles and makes guests feel welcome. They were so meticulous about cleanliness and implemented many procedures while we were there to keep guests safe during this unusual time. It made us feel confident that guests are their priority.

Excellent staff at this hotel. Willing to go above and beyond. The hotel room was very clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast had lot's of variety. The hotel was in a great location, it had Starbucks right there and a grocery store, gas, close to the ski hill and has a Boston Pizza attached to it. The kids loved the pool.

Stayed at the Best Western Lodge in Fernie. I love the location it's was perfect. 10 minute walk to downtown. A lot Of great restaurants and shops. Boston pizza is located next door. The hotel was decorated nice, staff was super friendly. Breakfast was ok not the greatest. Rooms were clean. It's got a indoor pool and hot tub. Also, hot outdoor Hottub which was nice. It's kid friendly, reasonably priced. Free parking available. Superstore, Starbucks, liquor store and A&W located outside the hotel 1-3 min walks to each. I would recommend this hotel.

Great customer service and clean comfy rooms. We were checked in and out by a really friendly and welcoming staff member named Kelly. She provided excellent service and really made a good impression. Kids loved the pool area and the fitness center was well equipped. Having a fireplace in the room was a nice touch and we really enjoyed our stay. The only complaint is that there was not any fresh fruit at breakfast and not a lot of GF choices. Also my husband is a bigger guy and he found the mattress to be a little too Firm.

Excellent. Clean and Comfortable with Friendly Staff. Excellent hot breakfast in the morning. Nice location with a good restaurant attached. Rooms are nice and quiet but are starting to be a little dated. Otherwise very nice overall.

We stayed here many years ago and had a great experience, so we gladly returned. This trip it was even better than last. Rooms were clean and presented well. Pool is a good size and the indoor and outdoor hot tubs are great to have, with lots of room. Location was fantastic for us as grocery store is across the parking lot, BP attached and hospital behind the hotel (where we were visiting). One of the best parts was the full breakfast. Staff cooking hot food thruout the breakfast time and lots of options. Breakfast area is a decent area for sure, but does fill up during busy times. This is a pricer stay for Fernie, but well worth it

This hotel is very clean, beds very comfortable, warm blankets, very nice room. I would stay here again next time I come to Fernie. Unfortunately we had to leave very early on a Sunday, before breakfast was served.

When I booked 3 days ago, I was unable to to finish my special request as it went straight to booked, called the hotel within minutes to tell them we had a dog and what would we be charged, was told over the phone my a guy that afternoon ( Thursday Sept. 12th we could not have a dog in the room we booked so we could only have a dog friendly room the price for the room would be $176.xx plus a $20 dog fee, asked him to email me a confirmation which he took my email then said oh u booked through Expedia I cant do that only Expedia can, but confirmed my price for the hotel for 3 adults and 1 dog was $176.xx plus $20. Called Expedia right away and had them confirm with the hotel which they did yes u will be charged that price. I then asked them to send me a updated information on the new price they just sent me the same email I recieved at time of booking and said dont worry the hotel has your special request and you will be charged that amount. When we checked out the bill was for the orginal amount $254.xx we said why are charged the full amount?! They said we cant do anything about it, it has to be done through Expedia but I confirmed this 3 days with the hotel the other price! So basically you are making more money off of us for charging us the full room price but we stayed in a dog friendly room which was cheaper unbelieveable. Also when we checked in we were told we would be super close to the hot tub, the hot tub was on the other side of the hotel!! And when I checked my credit card today they ran my credit card without my authorization, as they where given my friends credit card to put the full amount on, so what they took her card and pretended to use her card when really they just charged my card instead?!!! Unbelievable very unhappy with the broken promises 3 promises and all 3 were broken. Expedia says you need proof of this, well guess what I tried to get proof from the hotel and Expedia hotel wouldn't do it and Expedia just sent me the email I had already. Overall not very happy.

In typical best western fashion. Nice hotel but no value for the money. We got the diamond suite $340.00 for the night and the pullout bed was busted. Our big crew member had to pretzel on the couch. Hotel staff never made good in compensation.

In town for a local event. The hotel staff at first impression was professional in appearance and expedience for check in and check out. Rooms were clean, comfortable (pillow options were great), room had self controlled temperature as well as good in room coffee. Breakfast was abundant in options and again, friendly staff. I spend many a night in hotels, a good pillow, clean room and wee breakfast makes all the difference in how you fell about a location. Great location as well, close to coffee, other food options as well as some small shopping.

My friend and I enjoyed staying at this hotel. We came to go biking around Fernie. With a quick check in we were on our way. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast has a lot of variety. We were pleased to be able to put our bikes in a storage room at night for safety.

Lovely rooms, spacious with a fire place and mountain view. Excellent breakfast options (hot and cold). Quiet and central to Starbucks and other restaurants. I appreciated the express check-out option so I could quickly get out and catch my flight. Will definitely make this my first choice when returning to the area.

The Best Western Plus Fernie Mountain Lodge is located well on Fernie. The lobby area is spacious and clean. all of the staff that we encountered were really friendly, and knew lots about the area. our room was also spacious and very clean. Everything worked. And the breakfast was well presented with a good variety.

Drove north into BC from Montana and stopped in Ferie for an overnite. We stayed at this Best Western The front desk staff quickly checked us in and directed us to a hiking trail we could enjoy during the remainder of the afternoon. It was a beautiful day and the landscape views during our hike were awesome. The room was clean and comfortable. If you are in Fernie this is a great place to stay.

I have stayed here on three occasions and each time have been more than satisfied with the accomadation even though we use the pet friendly rooms. There have never been any lingering odours.Though pet friendly rooms are on the first and second floors just be aware incase your pet has a problem with stairs or elevators. Having a Newfie of 152 Lbs is not someting I can carry.

We completely enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Fernie. We've stayed here many times before and it never disappoints. It's quiet and comfortable. The staff are friendly and very helpful. It's so close to restaurants and shopping that you can just walk around.

This BW location is one of my absolute favorites to stay at! The staff is always on the ball, the rooms are always clean and the complimentary breakfast is on point. New beds would help this stay to be more enjoyable though.

Had a great 2 night stay in early August. Everything delightful, although the breakfast is best avoided. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, safe, and comfortable. Lots of electrical plug-ins.great location, with a Nearby Starbucks. Great walking path to a beautiful little lake.

We used the hotel for a stopover between Glacier NP and Calgary airport. It is conveniently situated off the main road and is within walking distance of the towns "historic" centre. There is a good supermarket very close to the hotel and a pizza place next to it. Thee are trails close by too. We had a large room with a great mountain view. Plenty of space to pack up. I think all rooms have fridge and microwave. We had a two queen bedded room. There was some noise from above but not enough to be bothersome. The bathroom has a shower over bath arrangement and individual toiletries. We were kindly given a kettle to use in addition to the coffee machine so we could enjoy our tea. There is a large, light seating area in the lobby and they have coffee and water there too. Breakfast (included) offered a good selection although I suspect seating could get a little tight. It is buffet style, and you hand in the ticket in your room envelope. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pool or exercise room so can't comment on these.

Other reviews have covered positives in detail. Hotel is nice. We upgraded to a large room which made for a comfortable three night stay. Conveniently located downtown under a 5 minute drive away and always found parking at the hotel and in town easily as we ate breakfast twice and dinner 3 in town . Only downside was that I did not think breakfast favorably compared to other upscale chain travel hotels the one meal there but we like to go to local espresso shops anyway so not an issue. Would stay again. And liked fernie would visit again.

We never thought of stopping in Fernie. Now that we have dicovered Best Western PLus it will be in our plans. Very clean with friendly staff. Room was everything we wanted. Free breakfast was the BEST we've ever had. We'll be back.

This is probably the nicest Best Western I've ever stayed in and I've stayed in quite a few. It really feels like a hotel from the large extra large lobby to the outstanding Breakfast and the hot tub and pool. We were on the top floor facing the mountains and the view was great. The location is great too, a Starbucks and a liquor store right across the parking lot, a bike trail just beyond the parking lot and a grocery store within 2 blocks; also close to downtown Fernie. The room was comfortable, larger than average, quiet and dark! The first morning there we overslept because the room was so quiet and comfortable. When we checked in the staff realized I qualified for an additional discount that saved me $20 a night. I highly recommend this hotel and Fernie in general.

I was impressed by all the staff. From checking to breakfast to checkout. All the staff were great. I highly recommend this hotel to any business or family vacation stays. The breakfast was likely the best free breakfast I have ever experienced

We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights after my daughter and husband's participation in the Sinister 7 Trail Run. Conveniently located off of the Crowsnest highway, you can't miss it. A Starbucks, Mobil Gas Bar, Tim Horton's, Independent Grocer and Canadian Tire are all within the block, practically sharing the same parking lot. The Elk Valley Hospital and Fernie Golf club sits right behind. Downtown Fernie is within walking distance. Our room was very clean and spacious which included lots of closet and drawer space. There was an additional room with a sofabed and tv which would be great for families...Room 418. The breakfast was better than expected. Good hot and cold selections. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was clean with a friendly staff. Our room was very nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable too. Everything was modern and clean. Hot breakfast was awesome with a lot of things to choose from.

In our review below, we'll describe different facets of the hotel. Location: The Best Western Plus Fernie Mountain Lodge is located in central Fernie in a very convenient location. There's a large grocery store, a liquor store, a gas station, and a Starbucks located in the parking lot next to the hotel. It's only a few minutes drive to all the restaurants and shopping in downtown Fernie. Rooms: Very clean and spacious, bigger than we expected and everything worked in the room. We did find the bathtub very small. We're small people and could barely fit in the tub, however many hotel rooms don't even have bathtubs so this was better than nothing. Our room also had a mini-fridge and a microwave. This came in very handy, because the first night of our stay we were very tired after a day of hiking and didn't feel like going out for dinner. We picked up a few things at the supermarket across the parking lot and just heated them up in our room. Reception: Friendly staff who provided quick service. Unfortunately, the person at the desk that checked us in didn't tell us about the breakfast vouchers being included in our envelope with our room keys and wi-fi password, so we were a little embarrassed the next morning when asked by the serving staff for the vouchers. Not a huge deal, however we wanted to pass this on so future guests know that you need to bring the vouchers to the restaurant for breakfast. Bar/Restaurant: The Best Western does have a restaurant open for breakfast, and the breakfast is included in your stay. We were very impressed with the quality and selection. It's buffet style, and for a free breakfast it was amazing. Hot scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, cereals, fresh bagels and pastries, coffee, and tea were all delicious and always available. The staff was so friendly and helpful too. As mentioned earlier, we weren't informed about needed to bring our breakfast vouchers, so we were taken aback when the server asked us for them. When we offered to run up to our room and check the package we received from reception, she smiled and said "no problem, just let me know your room number". When we let her know we were staying two nights, she told us to just bring the vouchers for both days tomorrow. Truly one of the best free breakfasts we've ever had! While it isn't owned by the hotel, there is also a Boston Pizza attached to the Best Western. Great for a hearty lunch/dinner or a few drinks while watching the game (and not having to worry about driving back to the hotel after). Wi-fi: Free for guests, the wi-fi is very fast and reliable, working everywhere in the hotel. Other: The hotel also has a pool that guests can use. While we never used it, we asked a couple other guests how it was and they loved it and said they used it every day during their stay. If you're looking for a place to host a business meeting, the Best Western would be a great choice, as we noticed multiple meeting rooms available on the ground floor. There is ample free parking Overall, we gave the Best Western Plus Fernie Mountain Lodge four stars out of five. It's a great hotel to stay it for business or for pleasure, and with a pool and breakfast included it's great for families. It provides great value for the money and is a very solid choice for everyone! Highly recommended, we were impressed and will definitely be back.

We lost my wallet on our stay. The employees helped us figure out what happened with the wallet down to the minute. I left the wallet on the roof of my car and drove away with it up there. One of the handymen that worked there initiated this help, literally the guy just took over. Long story short, we got our wallet back. This handyman was the reason we were able to keep our vacation going and get back into Canada. Thank you so much to him and Best Western, fantastic hotel and people.

We stayed here 1 night in June. Family of 4. Great room, wonderful breakfast - better than I had expected. My kids used the pool and like it as well. The location is also very good as there is a path that you can ride your bikes or walk and explore. I recommend you try this place, clean, comfortable and great value with a decent breakfast.

We love Fernie and this hotel was comfortable enough. We had a vow of the mountains and a deck (very few units have a deck). Our only complaint is that the breakfast was inedible. Howerver, we have had fabulous breakfasts at other best western plus hotels. To be fair, we went for breakfast 15 minutes before it ended and I am not sure if that mattered.

Excellent stay during continental divide trail bicycle ride. As a small group of friends we encountered numerous setbacks during our bicycling adventure. Best Western Fernie was definitely a welcoming light on a very cold wet evening.

We had excellent service at this hotel. We were upgraded to a balcony room at check in. Beautiful views of the mountains. The room was clean and large. Bed was a bit firm but pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was great. Recommend this hotel.

I was super impressed when the hotel called me the next morning to let me know they had some lost items we had accidentally left behind after checking out. It was my son's irreplaceable baby blanket and toy. We were beyond impressed that they would take the time to call us. Housekeeping even washed it. I will be staying here every time I pass through Fernie now- I think we have found our hotel!! It's also spacious, clean and conveniently located.

Stayed at this hotel over the long weekend in May. Very Nice hotel, very clean, big rooms, comfortable mattress. Good Location. But the pillows were the worst I have ever slept on. My neck is still sore.

We booked this hotel on a spur of the moment. We had our dog with us and they were able to accommodate us with a pet room- which was gorgeous. Our pup had never been in a hotel before so they allowed us to leave our names and numbers in the event she was whining but she was fine. Staff was amazing and accommodating and the continental breakfast was one of the best I have seen.

A great place to stay if your former ski bum like me but wants a clean, nice place in a Mtn ski town. Easy walking to down town, easy walking to grocery store. Clean rooms, hot tubs and pool. What more could a family that rips want (other than staying slope side). If my wife and I didn't have kids we'd probably still be sleeping in the back of my truck on Ski Road Trips, but having kids has turned us into a higher class of ski bum! Don't be afraid of the proximity to the train tracks everything in Fernie is close to the tracks, you are in good company. Ski hard, apres ski hard, sleep hard. That is the solution.

We stayed in Fernie for a short ski weekend and as a family of six it is always tough to find hotel rooms that accommodate everyone without having to pay an arm and a leg for the larger suite (or book two rooms- that's the worst). This hotel had the perfect room to fit everyone for a modest increase in price, and we really enjoyed the extra sitting area. Kids loved the pool and we loved our weekend.

We come to The Best Western a few times a year with our pups for a getaway and this time was for business. We asked for an extended check out on our last day, which was approved, as the training my husband was attending ran until 4:30pm. We were told the morning of the Sunday that the room had “been sold” and we had to check out at noon. I was forced to sit in my truck with two dogs for 4.5 hours until my husband's training was complete. Mind you we hiked and wandered for a few hours but had no where to go to relax when we were finished. The front desk staff- mainly a male, displayed no empathy that they had made a mistake and offered no resolve. He was quite rude and it caught me off guard to be honest. In addition, our room didn't have any dog beds as it normally would when you book and pay for a pet friendly room, there were numerous suites on our floor with late night partiers and I almost slipped in vomit when I went out the back stairs to take my dogs out to the washroom in the middle of the night. It's very disappointing how we were treated this time around and likely won't be back to this hotel. I will also be ensuring upper management is aware of the issues as I'm quite sure the male I spoke to at the hotel was the manager.

This hotel is located very conveniently in Fernie. The atmosphere is great and I loved the Boston Pizza attached to the hotel. Great breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here again the next time I am in the area.

Great place to stay if skiing in Fernie. Just a few minutes to the Fernie Alpine Resort. Close to shops and restaurants. We were offered a storage area for our equipment though we didn't need it. Rooms were very clean and modern, comfortable beds, fridge, microwave and fireplace in our room. Very spacious. Really enjoyed the pool, indoor hot tub, outdoor hot tub. The free breakfast could use a bit of improvement but we appreciated that it was included.

We enjoyed our stay at the Fernie Mountain Lodge. The staff were friendly and helpful, the property clean and in excellent repair. The pool and hot tub well maintained and enjoyable. Our room had everything we needed.

i walked in close to 11:00pm, without a reservation, and the staff at the front desk were more then happy to assist me, get me taken care of and into a room for the night. With the restaurant next door and a full breakfast selection downstairs I didn't have to go far at all which was fantastic! Awesome place to stay! Highly recommended.

We stayed 3 nights at the BW for a ski trip in Fernie. The room was beautiful and spacious and the bed comfortable. The room was serviced everyday. The hotel provides an excellent and complimentary hot and varied breakfast every morning. The outdoor hot tub was hot and clean. This is honestly the best, Best Western Hotel we have stayed at so far.

Nice clean rooms, very friendly/helpful staff, good buffet breakfast. As our kids have grown up, the pool is bit small, so isn't the attraction it once was. It is often full though, so hard to get a good deal. The only thing I'd change is more racks/hangers for wet ski gear.

Good breakfast! Expensive rooms for family day long weekend. Defeats purpose of weekend! Indoor poor room was freezing cold!!!! Staff was friendly and available for questions. Breakfast passes were strange because everyone was forgetting them back in their rooms. Not a very useful system. Better to use hotel key card.

My 2 brothers and I stayed here as we make our way through a portion of the BC Powder Highway. Nice clean hotel to stay in, and convenient to the ski resort. Good breakfast included in our rate fueled our day.

Easy check-in and check-out. Very friendly and curtoius staff. Super breakfast. Great rooms - very clean. Very quiet. Will definately go back. Great location. Pug ins provided for electric vehicles. Pool & hot tub very clean and inviting.

I checked in the evening of 2/11/19 and was greeted by Stephanie and Lisa. They provided exceptional service while getting myself and party acquainted with our lodging. Stephanie and Lisa were literally outstanding! Our party of four from Colorado have been traveling to ski towns across Canada for 14 days thus far, and received the BEST customer service yet when arriving at the Best Western in Fernie, BC. Stephanie and Lisa both provided information on hotel amenities, services and went above and beyond to make sure our room was perfect for our group of travelers. Thank you again! Overall the Best Western in Fernie is a great place to stay!! They have a wonderful breakfast to start your day.The outdoor hot tub is a great way to relax at the end of the day after a hard day of skiing!

The hotel was beautiful. It's easy to find. It's right off the highway. The lobby is a big open space. The desk staff are helpful and friendly. The room was nice and the beds comfortable and clean. The fitness facility has a treadmill, some free weights, and an elliptical machine and everything was in working order. There are two hot tubs - one inside and one outside, and both were in working order, and were clean. The pool was a normal hotel pool. 1.5 metres deep at its deepest and was a good temperature after sitting in the hot tub. The breakfast was good in the morning. Everything that was supposed to be warm was warm, and everything that supposed to be cold was cold. We did stay right by the elevator, and we could hear people getting on and off, and the working of the elevator, but other than that everything was good.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is well kept and clean, with very comfortable beds. We really enjoyed the fire place in the room and the spa, both indoor and outdoor. The in-house restaurant - Boston Pizza - and sports bar are great: good food and ambiance. Breakfast, which is included, was not spectacular, but I have had a lot worse. The historic downtown section of Fernie is within 10-15 minutes walk. The hotel is on the ski bus route and is only a short drive from Fernie Mountain Resort. Overall, highly recommended.

Breakfast included lots of variety of hot food; swimming pool/hot tub was always clean and fun for the kids; the lobby is warm and inviting; the room was clean and comfortable with a FANTASTIC view! We had some noise issues on our floor with some rowdies and the front desk staff resolved it within minutes. We also had a problem with breakfast vouchers, but the staff also went out of their way to rectify it as we enjoyed our breakfast. For this destination, this is the best value for the price.

The Staff was Very friendly especially in the breakfast area Pool and hot tub were great. The rooms were clean and as advertised, cleaning staff were friendly and accommodating. Express check out was a breeze! Close to the ski hill (10 minute drive)

Enjoyed my stay for my birthday weekend at The Best Western in Fernie, BC. All staff were extremely helpful and I truly appreciated their recommendations for great meals at the restaurants in Fernie. I also appreciated the hot breakfasts provided with our stay. The pool and hot tub area is nice and quiet. The hotel is clean and well maintained. I will definitely be staying there again for my next visit to Fernie, BC .

As Platinum members, we were thrilled with our upgrade to a spacious family suite, complete with kitchenette and fireplace. There's so much to love at this hotel: the staff are the friendliest and most professional around; they have lovely indoor as well as outdoor hot tubs and a great indoor pool; great mountain views from any room; and Fernie is just a gorgeous place to visit any time. Sadly, on this visit, even though our room was two rooms away from the elevator lobby, we were kept awake by an extremely noisy ice machine that ran all night. Next time we'll know to insist on a room, regardless of size, FAR away from the elevator. We love their breakfasts, the real dishes and cutlery and food selection. One item was a little off - the small pancakes had a funny taste to them. But otherwise the rest of the breakfast was excellent. On previous stays the breakfast staff were very friendly, but on this visit (it was the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend), we got the impression staff weren't happy to be there, as they weren't greeting people, etc. It's wonderful to start your day with a friendly greeting and smile, but didn't happen on this breakfast visit, unfortunately. Fortunately, the front desk staff did save the day again, as they greeted us as we walked past.

The room was beautiful, the price was way too high and the breakfast was horrible! Check in was quick and the customer service was good. Lots of amenities nearby and a nice walking path to a little lake.

We always stay here when visiting Fernie. The hotel is always clean and the staff is great. They have a good breakfast selection, much better than average Best Western offerings. Liquor and grocery stores close by and a Boston Pizza attached.

The hotel was great but we were charged US dollars by Getaroom.com. The price was $209 Cdn funds but we were charged in US currency which ended up being $272.52. Neither Best Western nor the booking company would provide a refund. We will never again use unknown booking companies. My wife was in the car with me and when she googled Best Western she dialed the number that showed. She asked if it was Best Western and the person that said that they book all of Best Western rooms. Needless to say we are annoyed at both Best Western and Getaroom.

Evidently I/we had a really great and relaxing vacation, as I had no idea what day it was when I booked the room as I had called the hotel directly. Or when we showed up to check in.. and were a day early! Stephanie saved the day/night! She was able to find us an available room and then upgraded us! Pays to be a Best Western Rewards Member!

We were very impressed with this hotel. The room was comfortable, with everything we needed, and the view of the surrounding mountains is impressive. The complimentary hot breakfast was very good, and we enjoyed our walk through the beautiful town of Fernie!

Only stayed one night but would have stayed longer if we would have had the time! Very clean and comfortable room. Plenty of space and had a comfy bed. Front desk staff were very friendly. Cafe also had plenty of room for breakfast and we didn't feel like we were crammed into a little space unlike some hotels. It was nice having the Boston Pizza connected and Starbucks in the same location.

Very nice place to stay. Stay are great - rooms are large and we'll kept - looks like may have been renovated within last year. Free parking on site with plug-ins when need for winter. Boston Pizza restaurant and sports bar connected adjacent to Hotel. Would definitely stay there again!

My wife and I spent a night here with our small dog. There is a Boston Pizza attached to the premises and a liquor store across the parking lot. To the rear is a green space for your dog/s. The room was average (it was reserved for people with pets so maybe not upgraded). A decent cooked breakfast (buffet style) was included in our room rate. We had a decent night's sleep - no unexpected trains running through the lobby in the middle of the night (which can't be said for a lot of hotels in the BC interior!).All-in-all it was ok!

We were fortunate enough to stay two nights in Room 321 at the Fernie Best Western. This was truly an excellent disabled access room. It had a true Roll-In shower for my wife's wheelchair and plenty go grab bars in the bathroom. The room was quite spacious for moving a wheelchair. Nice balcony with a gorgeous mountain view. The only suggestion would be to make the balcony door a little wider to accommodate wheelchairs, it was a bit tight. Most hotels pay "lip service" to the term disabled access and may at best offer some extra grab bars in the bathroom. Though I don't know if the Fernie Best Western has several disabled access rooms like this ( or only one), this room was done well.

I stay at a few BW's across western Canada for work. The Fernie Mountain Lodge BW is one of the better ones I stay at. Beds are comfortable. Hotel Location is close to resturants and lounges. Free breakfast offering is awesome. Recommend stay here.

This was the first weekend away for my girlfriend and I so booking the right place in Fernie was important. It was nice that the pictures on the site are accurate and we were not disappointed. I booked the king bed room with pullout couch. ( just in case..lol) We had a five and a half hour drive and left early so we took the chance to see if an early check in was an option and the front counter staff were great and got us in so we could enjoy the most of our first day without packing our gear around. The rooms are clean,spacious and quiet. The staff was great and helpful with all my questions about trails, times and locations of things we planned on doing. The hotel is very close to a nice walking, biking or jogging trail that leads around the city and connects to a series of other trails. You can discover the river, ponds, wildllife all with in a few minutes of the hotel and the views I can't say enough about. The hotel is perfectly located near starbucks, a liquor store, grocery store and Canadian tire all walking distance of between a minute and five minutes. Boston pizza is located within the hotel and delivers up to your room which is nice. The continental breakfast is like nothing I've had. Fantastic!!! and so well staffed! The only downfall was the pool and hot tubs closing at 10pm. Maybe consider longer hours until 11 or 11:30pm and earlier opening times. This is a repeat visit establishment. My wife and I came from visiting Waterton National Park. Particularly the Prince of Wales Hotel. We were heading back to Spokane and stopped in Fernie overnight. We choose the Best Western in Fernie. It was lovely. I enjoyed the fitness center that was very good. Our room was very clean and our accommodations could not have been better. It is right on the main highway which makes it very easy to check in and check out. This is a very nice hotel and the staff was extremely nice.

We stayed here July 6-9th 2018. What a great place and pet friendly too. I love that. Rooms were clean and decor was very nice. AC worked perfectly . Breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs with topping choices like cheese and salsa if you wish, sausages, french toast, hot oatmeal, yogurt, muffins, etc. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Cleaning staff was very nice too. Free coffee in the lobby all day or apples and oranges too. Overall great experience. Price could be a bit lower but thats all. We would stay again, maybe longer if it were just a bit cheaper.

Warm welcome, great room, nice facilities, swimming pool and jacuzzis , good literature, coffee in reception and rooms, e cells to parking, close to highway , .aircon, What's not to like. 3 and 1/2 hours from Calgary airport, and rental car returns.

We went with a group of kids playing in a basketball exhibition tournament in Fernie. Our stay in the hotel was a wonderful experience, the atmosphere is clean and neat. The staff were very friendly and professional in their duties.

I stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past. Great location for me while visiting customers in the Valley. The breakfast is rather basic, but there is Tim Horton and McDonalds in the same parking lot, so there are options for those needing more variety. Reception staff is very efficient and pleasant. Did not use the pool.

When we came to the lodge in the middle of the night due to an inconvenient situation a receptionist, Lisa, did everything she could to help us out, even in concerns clearly exceeding her area of responsibility. To be honest, I've never met a more obliging employee in any hotel ever before. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, very comfy beds. We had a great stay despite our unpleasant situation. Thank you!

I stay at this hotel every time I am down in Fernie and it is always extremely clean with comfortable beds and friendly staff. The adjoining restaurant makes it very convenient. The breakfast provided is better than you get at most hotels where it is included with the stay.

Hotel is in an ideal location, great views of the mountains, close to other amenities, short walk to local lake. The rooms are comfortable and staff pleasant. Accessible from the hotel is a Boston Pizza restaurant. The hotel offers a free, good breakfast, hot and cold.

The hotel has undergone significant decor improvements, all adding to the experience of a pleasant stay. Especially welcomed is new and improved bathroom lighting, the one negative I have experienced there for several years. Staff, many of whom have been with the hotel for years, remain friendly and pleasant.

Great hotel with everything you need. Boston Pizza is attached to it so you have food and a bar. Breaky in the AM is good and quick. Outdoor hot tub to relax in as well as great views of the mountains.

What a pleasure to check into our king room and see a big comfy pet bed, water dish, dog treat, rubber placemat, and poop bags stacked on the floor beside the desk! Room was spacious (had room for our two travel crates) and very clean. You could open the window for fresh air. We had a comfortable and very quiet night. Breakfast was amazing......pleasant staff person, lots of fresh hot breakfast foods, assortment of cereals, fruits, pastries, yogurt, etc. And real dishes and cutlery! One of the nicest complimentary breakfasts that I have seen. Very nice hotel!

I spent quite a bit of time at the best western in fernie. I fell in love with the outdoor hot tub, which is very much a time machine after a long day of exploring mountains. The location couldn't be better, with the independent grocery store, starbucks, cold beer and wine, etc. right outside. The staff went above and beyond, and were extremely helpful when needed. I am looking forward to coming back next winter.

We stayed here for a weekend of snowmobiling around Fernie. The stay was great but I wouldnt say that this hotel is anything special compared to other BWs I have stayed at. The price was very high at close to $200 a night. The only really fancy thing in the hotel is the lobby but we dont want to hang out there we would rather the room be nicer. Overall the stay was good but just not worth what we payed for.

Excellent place to stay. Rooms are nice and the complimentary breakfast was awesome. All the amenities are right there at the Hotel and shopping is in walking distance. The pool and hot tub are a nice place to relax after a day of work or skiing.

Love this hotel. My 4th visit in 2 years & looking forward to my next visit. Mgmt, Front desk staff, breakfast staff & housekeeping are all wonderful. Very comfortable rooms and pet friendly. Breakfast is excellent. Pool/hot-tubs are great. Right on the ski shuttle route. Easy walk to market, Canadian Tire & Tim Horton's.

Great hotel in Ferni close to ski resort (12 min), close to main highway but quiet. There is a bus shuttle to ski resort. My room was big with 2 comfortable beds.and a coffee corner(fridge,microwave,coffee maker). Big modern bathroom, extremely clean! With the price you get a good warm breakfast : eggs, hashbrown, bacon, sausages plus full continental breakfast. Breakfast is served on real plates!!! Helpful staff at breakfast.

Spent 3 nights here with my wife for a ski vacation at Fernie. It was our first experience at a BW Plus. We were pleasantly surprised with the breakfast. The friendly kitchen staff sets up a buffet style arrangement, with hot and cold options. I'm not going to say the cooked food was of the highest quality, so if you have reservations about processed food then you don't have to eat it, but the breakfast was solid. Plenty of coffee/tea/juice, yogurt/fruit, cereal/oatmeal, eggs/bacon/potatoes to go around. The rooms were clean as well as the pool/hot tubs.

Quick one night stay and I didn't want to leave. From check-in to check-out everything was seamless. Super comfortable bedding, everything was spotless and the complimentary breakfast was super tasty. Wish I could have stayed longer.

The Best Western chain is a well know quantity. You know what you are getting. The BW Plus is even a bit nicer. There is an indoor pool, self service laundry and the breakfast is better than usual. Our room was clean and comfortable although the mattress was nearing the end of its usable life. Amenities in the room are nice with a fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. The room had a couch and desk and the shower was very satisfying. This is one of the better places to stay in Fernie, especially if you are on a budget.

Chain hotels can be really good, or not so much. And included breakfasts are always a surprise, specific to what is being offered, and often not a happy surprise. This hotel has updated rooms, perfectly adequate hot tub and exercise facility, and really helpful staff. Breakfast was what put it over the top: very high quality food (I read labels!), lots of choices, real plates and flat ware (which is also more sustainable), and helpful staff. Location is good, absolutely walkable to town. I'm not sure why I'd stay anywhere else. PS They had noted our request for a quiet room, and definitely honored it. Another plus.

This is a great hotel with friendly and helpful staff rooms are spotless with gym and pool for family's bus stops right out side and is close to supermarket and fast food places and is 5 minutes walk from Main Street

Friendly staff, no parking for guest had to park at restaurant parking, great location close to coffee shops and shopping, too expensive for the area, stayed in other hotels in Fernie same service better rates

Convenient, excellent amenities and very quiet rooms even when hotel is fully occupied! Attached restaurant offers much at good prices. Indoor and outdoor hot tubs - outdoor was great. Very good breakfast and good hours for skiers! Rooms clean, comfortable and well supplied. Would not hesitate to stay again and highly recommend. Best Western always provides great highlight to our trip back to my hometown. Our kids have fun at the pool and the amenities allow me to work as needed throughout our stay. The breakfast is a great feature as well.

Terrible hot breakfast. Food is cold. They wait for the trays to be empty then cook more. So you're eating cold food or waiting an eternity for more to be cooked. The quality of it is bad too. Expect not to have enough towels in your room, and going to the front desk for shampoo because maid service only placed 6 bottles conditioner in your room.

My husband and I were looking for a hotel to celebrate our anniversary. In my opinion, this one received the best reviews so we went for it. Including taxes we paid $245 per night. Everything here was average. Pros: friendly front desk, super clean rooms, large selection at free breakfast buffet, great views of mountains Cons: upgraded to a fireplace room but were in the smallest of rooms on our whole floor, only small shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom which I used all of in one shower (no lotion), breakfast meat was low quality and the coffee was awful. Had we paid $100 less, all of the cons would have been no big deal but for the price we paid, we were expecting a higher quality stay. Save your money and for a cheaper rate, you'll get the same room and amenities elsewhere.

The hotel was what I expected from the BW chain. I felt that it was a little pricey in comparison to the ones we had stayed at during the past week on our vacation. The room was clean, the breakfast was good, and check in and out went well.

Hotel billed both my personal card full payment- and our corporate travel agency. I advised this was a prepaid visit upon check-in and clerk advised they were only holding for incidentals. They put full $500 charge on my personal card. Brought it to her attention same evening and then had to extend my stay another night. Unbelievably they put another full charge on my card; and my company's. Spoke to the manger who processed the transaction who denied billing my card until I showed him my banking app. Still not resolved and I've been home for 2 days! They really didn't appear to care and sloughed this off to a banking error, but clearly they had to input these charges.

This is one of our favourite Best Westerns. The staff here make the stay so special. We love all the amenities, like the pool and the two hot tubs (one indoor, the other outdoor), the gorgeous lobby with nice art, and the breakfast at this BW is second to none. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable - some rooms, not just the suites, even have fireplaces. It is convenient to a beautiful little lake, a big grocery store, a liquor store, restaurant, and even a Starbucks.

The room was tidy and comfortable with a fireplace in the corner. The view from the window was of the mountains. Enjoyed both the indoor and out hot tubs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had several useful stores within a quick walking distance included (Starbucks, liquor store and Boston pizza).

My husband and I were in Fernie to watch a hockey game in which our son was playing. We booked the BW on points and we still received the same exceptional service we've experienced staying at many Best Western locations over the years. From reception to departure, we enjoyed the experience. There was the BEST area allocated for dogs...very clean and green!

Nice to have the Boston Pizza attached which is non-gourmet but good menu with variety and nice selection of beverages etc. Breakfast in hotel itself is standard chain breakfast powdered egg sort of fare but you get what you pay for and the rooms are nice, the hotel is very clean and the staff super friendly. Always stay here when staying in Fernie for business.

We found all the staff, including housekeeping, to be very friendly and helpful during our stay. Whenever we had questions or requests, nothing was too much trouble. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was slightly too soft and you tended to roll towards the middle of the bed! Otherwise everything else was perfect. We loved having the separate sitting room too. The bathroom also had a double walk-in shower which was very invigorating. The best part of this stay was the 'free' breakfast. We appreciated having a breakfast with proper crockery and cutlery, rather than the usual paper and plastic offerings at many other Best Westerns. The hot breakfast items were also good quality and varied.

The experience was all good, we have been to Fernie many a time, first time at this hotel. High levels of service, hotel has newer appearance even though it was built in 2000 (as per plaque at entrance). Impressive lobby, very high levels of service. Medium sized indoor and outdoor hot pools and indoor pool. I cannot find much if anything to complain about so five stars it is. We did go just after Labour Day and not at a busy time as that is when we like to travel, having said that: Location: probably subjective as to what you are looking for. The hotel is just off a fairly busy highway as are many of the Fernie hotels. We had a room at the back of the building ( received a free upgrade) complete with kitchenette and fireplace, thus for us potential highway noise was not an issue. A supermarket, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, McDonalds, liquor store very close and located in the same parking area as the hotel. Didn't try it personally but I think walking to the historic downtown would be a bit of a hike but doable for some people I am sure. Breakfast- I think the operative word is complimentary. I agree not fine dining but a cut above other "free" breakfasts. Good variety of hot and cold items, people behind the counter to help if necessary, otherwise self serve. Totally adequate for our purposes. Like other mountain areas in the West this year Fernie was smokey from wildfires ( no fires in Fernie). However, we knew that, Calgary where we live was smokey too, we are not outdoors types and picked our spots, restaurants and shops that we frequent when in Fernie. The indoors facilities are good and we thus did not have to spend a lot of time outdoors. Having said that, there was still a lot of outdoors activities going on. Overall a very good experience and we will be back.

My wife and I stopped at this hotel on a recent motorcycle trip. From the time you pull into the spacious parking lot and walk through the front door you will feel it's relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. The rooms a good size and the bed gave us the best nights sleep we'd had in a week. The fitness centre was very clean and everything worked and the hot tub felt heavenly after being on the motorcycle all day.

I was shocked when I arrived, considering the reasonable price I paid. It is a gorgeous hotel, must be relatively new. Nice pool and 2 hot tubs. Great breakfast. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. Great sleep in the bed. The huge shower heads were awesome.

If you have the choice; stay at the BW in Fernie it is a great hotel you will not be disappointed. The room was great (king) the view is breath taking. Very helpful staff and I love that they have an elevator.

Two blissful nights in a great room with king-size bed and large sitting area. Very well appointed and dog friendly, did not want to leave. Walking distance to a lot of amenities. A lovely clean and friendly hotel. Great rooms and comfy beds. A very nice lobby to sit and unwind. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have had in Canada. They will even make eggs to your liking This was a great stop on our way home to Abbotsford BC from Saskatoon Saskatchewan. We asked the front desk about a place for supper and they suggested the Bridge Bistro just down the road. We sat on their patio and enjoyed the great drinks and fantastic food. Will we surely make this stop again .

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights. This is by far the best "Best Western" hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. It has a great pool and recreation area. The continental breakfast in the morning is the best set up we have ever seen and was better than a lot of restaurants. If you are going to Fernie you have to stay here. Fantastic.

The Breakfast is FANTASTIC and the beds are very comfortable. The room is very simply furnished with little to no imagination or extras. It was a good place to stay for one night in Fernie. The front desk staff appeared frustrated with the workload. The housekeeping staff were not helpful with a late check out request.... But the hotel was clean and comfortable.

We had a large spacious room with a very comfortable bed and whilst the hotel is close to the highway there was very little traffic noise. The buffet breakfast was very good and was varied slightly on the two days we were there.

Only good things to say about our stay at Fernie Mountain Lodge. We sent the kids straight to the pool which was clean and a good temperature and so perfect after spending all day in the car. The check-in clerk was able to accommodate us even though we showed up a day early and we are so grateful!

A great base for adventures in the Fernie area. We've stayed at this hotel multiple times & are always happy with the cleanliness & staff. During this stay we were given a room across from the elevators which was very noisy at times. I do not blame the staff for this. It's a high traffic area & I know you can't completely sound proof against this kind of noise. The only complaint I have is that the room price is the same as quieter rooms away from the elevators. I wish the room cost better reflected this inconvenience.

Our room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. Didn't use the fireplace since it was August :) but it added to the ambiance. The staff was very friendly. Due to a massive power outage in the area, we did not get a chance to appreciate the breakfast (just rabbed a few cold items as we needed to get on our way) but the staff at the breakfast area were working very hard to accomodate guests under very trying conditions. I was quite impressed.

As experienced on other occasions, the Fernie property is excellent.The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the included hot breakfast buffet offered reasonable selection. However, this hotel does not provide the kind of value that we expected for the rate charged. Though the rooms are comfortable, they are quite ordinary, with no extra features that one might expect from a property priced higher than many others in Fernie.

Beautiful hotel with a well appointed lobby, user friendly business centre, and a scrumptious breakfast. All the staff we encountered were helpful and kind. Jack checked us in with a smile and some great advice about our next day adventure. Our room was clean, comfortable and we appreciated the location (we had requested top floor away from the elevator and they were able to accommodate us). We look forward to our next visit!

Stayed one night and wished I'd stayed longer. Beautiful motel, clean, comfortable and in a great location. The staff was very helpful when we arrived and the next morning. Rooms were very quiet, no hallway noise or doors slamming shut. The view from our room was gorgeous. We will definitely stay here if and when we go back.

Lovely, clean hotel situated conveniently in the town of Fernie. It was too bad that we were not able to stay more than one night as there are lots of outdoor activities that one can participate in in the surrounding mountain region. There was a nice, clean swimming pool where you could work out your kinks after a long day of driving. There was an indoor and outdoor hot tub and the patio outside was very nice too. There was a great complimentary hot breakfast. We also had a good sleep as we could not hear any outside noise.

We could not be happier with our choice of hotel when traveling to Fernie, BC. This hotel was excellent in every way right from check-in to check-out. They have a sports pub connected to the hotel so no worries about where to grab a meal when you check in and are tired from your travels. Don't bother getting one of the rooms with a balcony, it opens up to the front of the hotel where you will be treated to the road traffic noise.

When we walked into this Best Western we were immediately greeted by a friendly staff member who offered to see what rooms were available at a better rate. Once he found the room, and discussed the rate with us, we decided it was the best option. But, it turned out that he still kept an eye for a better room and rate for us while we were talking to him and he found something better. This staff member also took into consideration the proximity of the room to the elevator or stair wells, and the noise from foot and road traffic while he searched. I found this dedication to service and customer value rare and amazing. On the way to the room, you will see signs indicating that there is a dedicated quiet time starting from 10:00 P.M., and guests are asked to try to honour that. Parking is included, and wifi is available and included in the price. When we entered our room, we ended up with a kitchenette, a generous coffee table and couch area, a spacious layout, and a very clean and clear atmosphere. While the power plugs were a little sparse for a modern family with numerous devices, they did the job. The washroom was clean, presentable, and was not cramped. We were informed that the room price included a hot breakfast. I'll note that the breakfast area is a relatively small space, and becomes very busy as the morning wears on. If you are not an early riser you can expect difficulty in finding a space to sit at. They also use real plates and utensils which have a bit of heft to them if you're carrying them for a while. Otherwise, the food was indeed served up good and hot, featuring scrambled eggs, sausage, a pastry section, yogurts, cereals, and toast. Personally, I found that the Best Western Plus at Fernie was a breath of fresh air and definitely deserves to be on the short list if you're in the area.

We liked everything about this hotel. Facilities are excellent. Staff are competent and helpful and the added amenities like cold filtered water and a Keurig in the lobby go a long way. The Boston Pizza was a bit of a disappointment but other than that the hotel is above average in our opinion and would gladly return.

Location of this hotel is great for families, as there is a Starbucks, Grocery store, Boston Pizza, and other options within walking distance. Rooms were clean and simple, breakfast had a great assortment of options via buffet style for hot food to typical cereal options.

Jack at check in was the rudest staff I have encountered. No recognition of brand loyalty. He was more concerned with nailing another client for smoking in their room than he was in a positive experience at check in. The hotel is in a great location and we had a good night sleep.

So, the hotel is slightly 'alpine' in its appearance, albeit it is just off the main highway, in a large car park (which includes BC liquor, petrol station etc.) There is a large and modern reception area and staff were pleasant on check in. The rooms were clean and fresh, standard 'fodder' for this class of hotel The place has a pool and indoor hot tub and outside hot tub - we tried them all (pool a little chilly, indoor hot tub nice, outdoor hot tub also nice but felt a little like having a dip in a prison, due to the tall metal fencing around the outside presumably for the tubs protection?) It is a way out of town, a good mile, if you want to walk in to find a restaurant. I normally score 3 for a standard hotel with a good nights sleep, hot shower and clean rooms. I add plus points for extra's (swimming pools/tubs etc.) and minus points for location or aspects which appear poor. Notwithstanding others reviews of the 'free' breakfast - I'm afraid my view is very different. For a start, whilst included in the price of the overnight stay, by definition, the hotel is not giving away free food (if it did, it would probably give it to the homeless - not us!) When we arrived, the quite small cafeteria area was already full, so we were pushed out into the 'over flow' area, which is the business area outside. Of the breakfasts that were included in the cost of the hotel that we had in the weeks in Canada, this was the only morning when there was no fresh fruit or pastries - but there were bagels (which personally I think are best used as lifebouys to save small animals who are drowning - not as a foodstuff!) and the hot food at the time we were there, looked limp and flaccid. So as the title implies, this is a lovely hotel, with good facilities and reception staff - let down by a very sad and poor quality breakfast

Never seem to have any issues any time that I stay at a Best Western. Particularly loved the breakfast that was included in the room rate. Staff very professional and courteous, rooms seem dated but very clean.

The beds are super comfortable and the curtains make the room super dark so it could be really easy to sleep in! The continental breakfast is included in the room and is really good (but could be kept a bit warmer). All in all, it is a good value for your money.

We stayed over a weekend in July in a standard room. On arrival check in was quick and the staff was courteous. We stayed on the 4th floor facing the parking lot, the room was fairly quiet and very clean. Breakfast both days had good selection, but I would recommend going earlier for warmer food and better quality. The wifi was great through the time we were there. We didn't have the opportunity to use the pool area, but it looked clean and well maintained. The air conditioning was also excellent have some hot days of hiking. If we have the opportunity to come back to Fernie we will be staying here!

Everything about this hotel went beyond expectations. The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. The fitness facility was very nice. The rates were great. The breakfast buffet was very good. Great price quality ratio!

We arrived after a long day of driving to be told there was an extra fee because the rate we had booked on-line was so low. Told each Best Western is independently owned and they have the right to add extra fees even though none of this is spelled out during the on-line reservation process. We often stay at Best Westerns while travelling and have never been treated like this. If it hadn't been such a long tiring day, we would have left. The person at the desk needs more hospitality training. Then we went up to our room. This hotel is horribly dated and needs some major renovations. It does not deserve the Best Western "plus" status. The only saving grace was a decent breakfast in the morning. Would not recommend this hotel.

I cant stress enough the WOW factor of this hotel, the complimentary breakfast was incredible large variety of hot and cold. The cleanliness of the rooms was shocking. I would definitely recommend this hotel to EVERYONE.

The name of this particular BW hotel aptly describes the experience. A massive fireplace and large cedar beams in the lobby let you know you are in a "lodge". A spacious room, excellent mattress and a café-style breakfast room all made for a relaxing stay in a town surrounded by mountains.

I have stayed here consistently for the past 5 years! The hotel is always in great condition the staff always is extremely helpful and cheerful! The breakfast is in the top 5 of the hotel breakfasts I have had! All in all great value and service!

Very helpful service. We brought our one year old German shepherd and they were very accommodating. Beautiful room and facilities. Had a little trouble with our door not locking but it was solved as soon as we told the front desk. Cleaning staff takes a lot of pride in their work from conversations I overheard. Very convenient location to walking trails, Maiden Lake, and the highway as well as downtown.

On a motorcycle trip and after a long, very hot day travelling, this was a great place to stay. Nice people on the front desk and my room was large, clean and well appointed. They considerately gave me a room facing the parking lot so that I could check on my bike periodically (which I like to do and they have obviously had requests for before). The included full breakfast was excellent although didn't open until 7:00 on Sunday. I usually hit the road by then but delayed departure for the meal. Good parking for bikes as well as longer vehicles.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city! All the amenities needed! Clean comfortable rooms. Staff were very friendly and accommodating! Breakfast was ok. Not super friendly staff in the breakfast room. Food choices were good! Would recommend the hotel overall!!

As usual, this Best Western is a safe bet for an all-round accommodation. It is centrally located to all that Fernie has to offer. City shopping / ski hill / hiking / all kinds of biking. I go there for work but I see a full blend of travelers and they are all smiles.

The staff are great. The views are beautiful. The property has free WiFi, a great workout room and pool/hot tub. There is a Boston Pizza in the same building. Parking is ample and there are ramps for those who have mobility issues. We just really like this place. The breakfast offering is getting better.

We had a great time at the hotel. We played in the pool and it was nice. The outdoor hot tub was really nice too! Breakfast was plentiful. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. We would stay her again.

The pool is on the small side but is nice and clean. There is an outdoor and indoor hot tubs. The grounds have lots of flowers. The rooms are clean and comfortable and h standard room even had a fireplace. The hotel is connected to a Boston Pizza which is great. The room rate includes a hot breakfast in the morning which was pretty good. It is on the expensive side, though admittedly, accommodation in Fernie generally seems to be expensive compared to other places.

In the past; I could hook up our DVD player to the TV and have the kids watch a movie while getting ready for bed. Not anymore. you MUST rent via Shaw on Demand now. Phoned down to front desk and was old you cannot watch yourown movies anymore you must rent from us!!! No sorry, no apology for it being chnage at all.

Best hotel i have stayed in. the service was perfect The outdoor patio and hot tub were a real treat. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. Overall experience was top notch. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service at the Boston Pizza.

I don't have any complaints about the hotel but 220$ a night doesn't get you much. The complimentary breakfast was nice to have in the morning, they change the dishes daily so I never got tired of the same thing. The restaurant next door had terrible service.

In a small town working and this is about the best it gets in this region. The staff is good, rooms are clean and they provide a decent breakfast in the morning. They have a standard buffet style and you can also order a special request. Close to a lot and suppose it's good during skiing season.

This hotel is very appropriate, given the region and the community. The staff compliments the property in making any stay very pleasant. My wife and I return at least twice a year to enjoy both! Given its location in the Canadian Rockies and the Crown of the Continent adds to the pleasure of the stay.

The service at check in was not the best as the girl was not very helpful but was maybe having a bad day. Rooms were nice and we even had a fireplace. There was a pool, indoor and out door hot tub. The outdoor hot tub was nice. Breakfast was pretty good and the service was great. Was surprised to get potatoe pancakes!!! Nice change. Service at the Boston Pizza was horrible. Will not return there. We went to a Tapa restaurant downtown and it was fabulous. Food, drinks and service were amazing. The gentleman at checkout was very helpful.

This hotel is excellent! the staff is exceptional, takes total care of every customer, and work hard to accommodate every need. The rooms are very comfortable, some with fireplace (gas, very nice and easy to start), and even some with kitchenettes for those of us that like to cook (fully furnished). Breakfast is hot and made to order, everything is provided, and the chefs are very cordial and friendly. Of special mention is Stephanie, at the front desk, who is a magician when it comes to making sure we are completely happy with our stay. She is awesome, and her multilingual capabilities have proven invaluable on multiple occasions. You should be very proud of her and how well she does her job. Way to go Stephanie!

In my opinion, the nicest hotel in town. The issue is, even if you book 3 months in advance, you have to prepay for your room. I will be traveling here 2-3 times per month now and am not crazy about prepay. Wait to long and you might not get a room. I will look around for other properties next time in the Fernie area who do not practice prepay.

5 Star Review. Place is Amazing! Will happily stay again and will always recommend this hotel as well. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home! Room was perfect, bed gave us a truly wonderful sleep and so enjoyed sitting in the outdoor hot tub while it was raining. Truly memorable experience!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel while travelling to Seattle. The hotel is easy to find, right off the highway. There is plenty of parking with a grocery store and gas station next door. Our room was of average size, the beds were comfy but I did not care for the pillows. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the normal was very good. There was bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, egg fritatas, hash browns, cereals, breads (very good). The breakfast area was very clean. We will be staying at this hotel again. If in the area, I would certainly recommend. Boston Pizza is attached to the hotel. We had dinner there and we had an excellent meal.

Power went out sometime, but no power in the morning, no hot water, dark when I got up.. Asked for a discount as I didn't get what I paid for even though Best Western couldn't help that the power went out. I didn't use towels or washroom just got up and left. Staff really didn't care is how I felt when I asked for a discount but said maybe 10-15% off??

We had our family reunion this past weekend and let me tell you it was amazing. Peter and his catering staff were amazing. Food was so good, room was excellent. We are planning our next one in 3 years and I think its going to be here. Thanks again for such an amazing weekend.

We had an overnight stay at the Best Western, loved the location and Fernie. Hotel room was clean and quiet (our room faced the back of the hotel) and the breakfast was good too. Staff were very friendly.

These beds are horrible. Worst nights sleep ever. Check in lady was terribly rude. The lady at check out was nice. Breakfast was alright. Need someone cleaning tables as more than 3/4 of the tables were dirty.

As I turned left off the highway to the Starbucks I discovered that it was in the same parking lot as my hotel! Very pleasantly surprised. I grabbed a mocha and headed for check in. The staff were attentive and friendly and helpful with hints on great food. As I looked out the window of my third floor room I noticed the screen was falling off of the window; my view overlooking the local hospital and some nice mountains beyond. (The screen was reported on check out). Once again the Best Western Plus offer beautifully appointed rooms with PLASTIC cups and PAPER coffee cups!! It is over the top incongruous with the room; not to mention the environmental impact this policy begets. I would recommend that side of the hotel as it was away from the highway in the front of the building. The indoor pool and hot tub were having maintenance done and were not usable on this visit; to be fair, the outdoor ones were available. I would like stay here again. Staff were good, hotel was clean, and after all, Starbucks was just across the parking lot!

When I drove up to the hotel I found it exceeding my expectations. Upon arrival at the hotel the staff were polite and courteous. Check in process was quick and easy and they already had my information ready for me. The stay was quiet and the location was great.

I gave a review in Nov 2016 when we were last here. It basically was saying 5 stars wasn't enough. And that is the same way this trip! This time we brought the kids (9 and 11) and they loved the hotel and Fernie too. Only suggestion, although the pool area is clean and water crystal clear, there is a green ring along the floor starting to form. Needs to be vacuumed please. Thanks and see you again!

The lobby is beautiful and looks pretty new. The breakfast was awesome! Far better than most north American hotels "free breakfasts" And the rooms were nice. Clean. Not completely outdated. The bathroom was nice seemed very very new! I would definitely stay here again!

Great beds, polite and professional staff, awesome outdoor hot tub, and unbelievable free breakfast. Great breakfast buffet selection! I always stay here when on Business in the region. I've tried other hotels, but this one seems to be the best in Fernie. The good breakfast is a bit of a clincher for me.

Very pleased with our stay. We arrived early evening and the front desk clerk was very accommodating and recommended a restaurant that served gluten/free items on their menu. The hotel was quiet and there wasn't a problem with a restful sleep. The free breakfast had a variety of different food choices. Fitness centre, hot tub and a swimming pool were offered to us with the room price.

I'm sure better accommodation could be had for less in one of the many hotels in town. I got the impression they were very self satisfied with their performance but as a seasoned traveler I found their overall performance lacking.

I like this hotel. I've been coming here for more than 10 years and I've never had a bad experience here. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast average but still better than in the most North American hotels. Gym could be bigger and better equipped. I would recommend this hotel.

Clean, comfortable and quiet. Just what I am looking for in a hotel. Friendly and competent staff. Amazing breakfast - best I've had a hotel (that was included). Can't say enough good things about this Best Western.

The best Business or Pleasure hotel in the area. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and have not been as satisfied. The rooms are clean, the staff are very friendly, the restaurant is sufficient. In conclusion, this is the only business hotel to book in the Elk Valley.

My husband had work in Fernie for the week and I went along for the stay. I chose this hotel for the amenities it offered seeing as I would be there alone during the day. I wish I could give 5 stars for the folks at the front desk. It didn't matter what time of day or night or whom was on shift, we were always greeted warmly! I wish I could give the breakfast crew 5 stars for the out of this world complementary breakfast daily. The choices were always fresh and delicious and different daily! Again the friendly helpful courtesy was so amazing! I wish I could give 5 stars for the rooms, beds, pillows and blankets. They allowed us such great sleep and the morning view to wake up to the mountains was so breathtaking! I wish I could give 5 stars for the location. Not only for the great view, but the location is close to the Starbucks, liquor store, gas station, grocery store, Tim Hortons, McDonalds, Canadian Tire and Marks. Behind the shopping was a beautiful little beach area and small lake, and the walking trails with superb views throughout. I had no vehicle but even to walk downtown only took about 15 min, and it is such a friendly community! I wish I could give 5 stars for the guys who get forgotten usually. The cleaning, maintenance and grounds keepers. The place looked amazing all the time! So that's why, 5 stars isn't enough. Each group here deserves their own 5 stars!! Thank you all for making this a memorable stay. The only problem was we fell in love with Fernie and were heartbroken to leave. Hope to see you soon!

We were given a very spacious room with a fireplace. The hotel is well set out with a nice lobby and pleasant atmosphere. The check in and check out staff were pleasant and efficient. This is one of the best Best Westerns I've been in. Certainly a nice choice if you are in the area. There is train noise but you aren't getting away from that probably anywhere, so don't blame the hotel. They do have curtains to mitigate it. We were not bothered by it.

We recently stayed the weekend at the B.W in Fernie, B.C. As a frequent user of B.W., we were not disappointed with this B.W. either. The staff were polite, informative and always ready to help with any needs requested upon them. The room was roomy and tidy. Bathroom was clean and well stocked with toiletries. The 2 night stay was quiet, even with an event taking place within one of the banquet rooms. Hotel parking was easily accessible and no events to the vehicle happened. The complimentary breakfast was enjoyable and no issues to report. Overall experience was very good. Would recommend to stay at when in Fernie.

We arrived in the afternoon, exhausted after a long flight and drive to Fernie. How nice it was to be cheerfully welcomed by the front desk staff. We were very happy with our stay here. The rooms, elevator and hallway were very clean and the decor updated. It was nice to have a free hot breakfast. The location is walking distance to Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire and an Independent Grocer. It is a short drive to main street. Highly recommend.

Stopped here while traveling. Good night's rest. The attached sports bar and pizzaeria were good. Our room was clean and quiet. Good beds, a good night's rest. The breakfast was better than most hotel "included" meals.

We stayed at about a dozen Best Westerns during a recent road trip, and this one clearly stood out from the rest. Very nice rooms with beautiful mountain views; great, easy-access location near trails, dog-walk area, coffee shop, and restaurants; very professional check-in staff. While for many hotels, breakfast has become a race to the bottom in terms of sameness and mediocre food, this one had a cook staff that actually cared. Food was freshly prepared, with a slightly different menu each day. When I asked where to bus my dishes (pretty standard process at other BWs), I was politely told that they will take care of it, since "you wouldn't make your bed in your room, would you?". A refreshing, well-deserved 5 stars!

Very nice location convenient for the town. Pleasant well fitted room but alas my room on the 4th floor had very poor wifi connectivity and a trip to the lobby was required every time I needed to get online.Good breakfast supplied. Pleasant helpful staff.

Stayed in king room which had loads of space. Bed a little hard but room very clean. Breakfast with eggs & bacon a welcome addition to usual continental breakfast. Check in/out was fast & staff very pleasant. They were also helpful in letting us know where to eat. Will return if we are back this way again.

We spent one night here while traveling through Fernie and found it to be a very nice property. Friendly service, large clean rooms with microwave & fridge, great bathroom and and excellent included breakfast. Plus you're right at the base of the mountains and the views all around are spectacular. Probably the nicest Best Western property I've ever visited. Wouldn't hesitate to return here.

What I would expect of a BW Plus. Nice room, had to take a double as was traveling late. Room was clean and quiet although I thought it was overpriced. Staff at both check in and check out very friendly and offered assistance as to attractions etc.

Very nice place to stay. Nice and helpful staff, clean, modern rooms, and a Boston pizza is connected so one can have a nice meal, or enjoy the lounge. It is easy to find, and lots of parking I would stay here again.

The hotel and room were nice. There were 2 beds to chose from and the first one had dirty sheets with hair and unidentified stuff (picture attached). The second had a sink hole so it was cozy sleeping. I started turning down the bed at 11 so we didn't alert the front desk until the next morning. We had a lousy sleep. Front staff gave me heck that I should have called when I discovered the problem. Dear front staff: 1. I was dressed for sleep. 2. I didn't want to get redressed 3. I didn't want more disruption that late. 4. I was creeped out and wouldn't sleep in that bed, even with clean sheets, because I don't know what the bits and pieces were. 5. It doesn't help telling me the mattresses were replaced 2 years ago. I slept in the sink hole so it must exist. Perhaps the first mattress was ok, but I wasn't going to try it out. We were given a 10% discount, which actually made things worse. Sometimes a big apology goes a long way.

Very nice facility with everything you would need. Pool/ hot tub, exercise room, outdoor patio, conference rooms. Lobby is very nice. the free breakfast in the morning is probably the best that I have had at any hotel. NOTE: we had issues at the attached Boston Pizza. rude employee that can't handle being busy. we were turned back at the door twice and told to go somewhere else. we waited till 8:30 (as we were not really hungry till then) then we ordered to room, as they again told us they wouldn't let us come in. 2 hours later we got the pizza....cold

Just here overnight and wishing we could stay longer! Very nice place! The room is large, the bed is comfy and it's very quiet. And the view is fantastic! Hands down the best included breakfast we've ever had at a hotel. Eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and lots of toppings like salsa and cheese. Fresh baked muffins and pastry and they clean your table when you're done. Also many other options including gluten free. They even come to greet you and remove the covers on the food for you. Everyone we have encountered at the hotel are so friendly. We would definitely make a trip back to the area and choose to stay here!

We have never been disappointed at this hotel. Very clean with nice decor. The staff have always been very friendly. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is very good. We have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I travel frequently on business and whenever possible stay at a Best Western property. Recently I travel to Fernie BC and spent 4 days at the BW Fernie mountain lodge. The lobby and main entrance are large and welcoming, the greeting was polite and efficient and my reservations were correct. The rooms were well appointed and exceptionally clean. The continental breakfast sees a chef on hand to prepare fresh eggs should you wish. The menu includes almost everything one could wish for a breakfast with a variety of fresh juices, breads, coffee, yogurts eggs and more. I compare this with amongst the best I have experienced. There are numerous restaurants and specialty beverage stores within easy walking distance of the hotel. Parking is extensive with ample room for fifth wheel rigs. The surrounding area is a postcard of what makes the East kootenays such a beautiful piece of BC landscape. I recommend this property without reservation.

I was here visiting my nephew in Fernie and the stay at Best Western was excellent. The premises were clean and inviting. Nice mountain decor. The hot breakfast was delicious and well worth the stay at this hotel. The breakfast had a variety of hot and cold items including a cook grilling the hot items-eggs, pancakes, homefries etc.-definitely not the standard breakfast bar you get at most other similar hotels. Would definitely stay here again!

I have stayed here for extended periods four times over the past decade. The rooms, amenities, and staff are excellent and I would not consider staying elsewhere in Fernie. The location is excellent. The onsite restaurant is convenient. The fitness center is good.

Great Place to stay after a long day of riding. Clean comfortable beds and rooms with two hot tubs (inside & out) to enjoy the warm summer evening. Free hot breakfast was the best we had at any hotel with several staff assisting & cleaning so no waiting. Highly recommend this location!

We had a late checkin as we drove from the coast that day. It is unfortunate that we didn't get to use the facilities at the hotel or see the surrounding mountains until the morning. The hotel is well managed, clean, the breakfast was good. We had a handicapped room although we didn't need it. We were a little perplexed on how a disabled person would ever use the bath tub! But a great hotel in a nice area.

The Best Western in Fernie is one of the nicest in the chain that we have stayed in. The hotel is located just off highway 3 on the main route through Fernie. There are several popular restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The lobby of the hotel is very elegant and there are comfortable seating. Rooms are large and tastefully appointed. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean. The air conditioning was efficient and quiet. The room was well insulated with no outside sounds heard. Bathroom was quite small but functional, overall average for a midrange hotel. The highlight was the excellent breakfast. The hot food options were excellent and there was a good variety of fruit, yogurt, breads, and cereal. The Best Western Fernie is one of the nicer mid range hotels on the Calgary to Vancouver hotels.

Excellent Best Western Plus, warm and helpful staff, very clean and comfortable hotel and great breakfast. For the price you can't beat it. The location in the Canadian rockies is gorgeous and the town is very nice, good restaurants as well.

We stopped here on the way back to Edmonton as it was raining cats and dogs. We travelled with our big black Labrador this trip into BC and it can be very limiting as far as activities and accommodations go. But this is a well - appointed Best Western, and was the very per friendly. Our dog had his own bed, water dish, doggy cookies appointed in our room. There were nice amenities nearby including a Boston Pizza attached to the hotel and a liquor store across the parking lot open till 11pm daily. So it was a nice wind down from the white knuckle driving from Nelson. There is a golf course and natural areas behind the hotel, so it was easy to let our dog out for a washroom brake. So we took our dog for a walk after the rain settled down, had a nice prepared meal and a nightcap all without having to drive. We slept in a little, and ended up just missing the complimentary continental breakfast, as they close at 9am. But overall, I would recommend the Best Western Plus Fernie as a moderately priced hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Fernie was a half way stopover point for our family during our vacation. Had never stayed in this hotel before but glad we did! Connected to Boston Pizza, which happens to be a family favorite, was a plus. Pool was small but adequate and included an indoor and an outdoor hot tub. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which was far better than most with a good variety of selections. We opted for bacon, sausages, hash browns, frittata and French toast but granola, yogurt and cold cereal selections were available as well. We found everything well stocked and constantly attended to. Definitely one of the best we've ever experienced. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel when staying in Fernie.

My wife and I came to Fernie to then meet up with family, and we were delighted with this hotel. When we first walked in, we thought it was breathtakingly beautiful - such a warm welcome to our Canadian Rockies. Our room also kept to this theme, including a fireplace and attractive new ski-lodge type furnishings. This hotel is immaculately clean and comfortable, and staff were wonderful in accommodating our later arrival time. P.S. There was also a neat set of hooks to hang clothes!

We had a great overnight stay at this Best Western Plus in Fernie, BC !!!! We stayed towards the end of June and the weather was fabulous !!!! This lodge had all the amenities and the staff were super helpful!! The location is right on the main highway, but far enough in, so we were not bothered by the traffic at all! The free breakfast was more than adequate and very enjoyable!!! There is a liquor store kitty corner from the hotel and a very good Asian restaurant a short distance west and across the street. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name but it was located in an older house and had excellent reviews!!! Reservations are recommended, as it is listed as one of the top 20 restaurants in North America!! We were very happy that we stayed the extra night at this excellent Mountain lodge!!!

We found the hotel even before our Garmin lady. It is in a perfect spot for people new to the area. The hotel staff were excellent and the breakfast was the best I have ever had at a hotel. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

This hotel was great -- all of the employees, the room, the pool and outdoor hot tub and the breakfast. It is close to everything, including Starbucks on the same block! We really enjoyed our stay here!

From my experience, this hotel is run well. We were welcomed by ample, helpful staff at the front desk. Check-in was painless, and we were given keys to our room. The hotel is relatively new, and looks like it is in good shape. The hotel has plenty of parking and has a convenient bicycle and ski storage room right at the front door (though it was jammed full). The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. The housekeeping staff were pleasant and frequently offered to make-up our room while we went for breakfast. The hotel is situated near lots of chain-food options, but it's a short walk/ride/drive to many of the non-chain food options in Fernie. I would not recommend the attached Boston Pizza (poor service). The hotel has a very small swiming pool. I did not try it, but it looked like it was in good shape, and a number of families with smaller kids were enjoying it. Our room was a family room (two queen beds and a sofabed). It did have two hot plates and a microwave oven. Without a range hood, it would be tricky to cook anything serious here. I would hesitate to call it a kitchenette. But, if you want warm up a can of soup, it would work. There were pots, pans, bowls, plates and utensils though we didn't make use of them. The best thing about the hotel was the proper level of attentive and friendly staff.

A recent business trip took me to the Best Western Plus in Fernie. This is a very nice hotel located on the main highway. Great access to local amenities and only minutes to the pretty downtown district. Hotel is well equipped with a pool, fitness centre and an above average breakfast. Rooms are bland but serviceable. Your average room ammenities.

This is the best Best Western we have stayed in to date. The breakfast was great with lots of choices and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. We would recommend anyone going to Fernie, BC to stay in this hotel!!

I took a chance on staying in Fernie and I am so glad that I decided on Best Western! The hotel is perfectly situated on the mountain on highway 3 that I don't think there is a room that doesn't have a beautiful mountain view.

We only stayed one night in this hotel but were more than satisfied. We found this spot very comfortable with a pleasant helpful staff. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and good Wifi. It's next door to a Boston Pizza but has other eateries and a grocery store close by. We saw families enjoying the indoor pool which also appeared well maintained. We'd stay there again.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good location. Quiet, clean and we'll maintained. Required amenities like ample parking (no fee), pool, hot tub and fitness Centre, and quality tasty free breakfast (hot and cold items). Mattress was comfortable. Overall, would highly recommend. This spotlessly clean hotel has an upscale decor and great amenities (indoor pool and hot tub, and a great outdoor hot tub too). We loved the clean, spacious room. The mountain views from this hotel are gorgeous. What made our stay was friendly staff, from the front desk to the breakfast staff and housekeepers. Overtime we saw any hotel staff member they greeted us - this made us welcome and important. The breakfast here was excellent - lots of choices, and even better real ceramic dishes and coffee mugs - this must be part of the PLUS in BW Plus. A minor issue was that the WIFI did not always work - but the hotel was quite full, so that could be why. We'll be back!

Great exterior appearance of hotel upon arrival. Staff were warm, welcoming and expedient in checking-in. Room was clean, in good condition, and the bed mattresses were very comfortable. The morning breakfast was decent and had hot items such as french toast, diced potatoes, ham, eggs frittata, along with the standard cold breakfast items and fruit. Serving staff were very friendly and efficient. There is a Boston Pizza attached to the hotel so grabbing a late supper bite was very convenient. Would defiantly recommend and stay at hotel again when in Fernie.

Fernie is not well known to Americans south of the border (US). We stumbled upon it by accident a few weeks ago and planned to come back. I found it in my travel plans recently and we stayed in town. Hotel is very clean, comfortable, and cozy. The pool and hot tubs are very nice. I think they might put towels in the pool area rather than at the main desk, but that's not my call. Breakfast was exceptional as well.

I booked 2 rooms for a Sat & Sun night. They did have 1 of our rooms ready early at 1 pm Sat but the 2nd wasnt ready until 3:45. Then when we tried to get into our room on Sun the key was deactivated and we had to see the front desk. The rooms were very clean comfortable and cool. Breakfast was amazing!

This is a very nice hotel. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family as well. Only one small complaint, the pillows were too high, a couple of flatter ones would have been nice as a choice.

We were here for a nearby family reunion, and stayed for 2 nights in 2 rooms. Rooms were nice and clean, and the included breakfast was amazing! Eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage, as well as pastries, oatmeal, and just about every breakfast food you can think of! They were a little late in checking us in, and our key card was deactivated after the first night, but they quickly took care of these minor issues. Helpful staff and walking distance to Tim Hortons and McDonald's! Would stay here again.

On a bike trip so the outdoor hot tub was awesome! Service was friendly and the rooms were clean, basically what you would expect from this hotel. Having a Starbucks and a liquor store in the parking lot was helpful. But we still choose to head downtown at night to check it out. Tons of fun in this little town - we will be back! It was also funny that the first time I actually wanted a parking lot view. It faces the Fernie Mountain Resort so you can see the ski hill, I am sure in the winter at night the lights would be amazing.

Had a suite in the winter, that fireplace goes a long way to getting the winter chill off. Comfy Bed and clean room, all the regular amenities you could ask for. Close to restaurants, coffee shops and right on the highway. Can ask for much more.

My best friend and I planned a getaway to Fernie and we weren't disappointed. This hotel is amazingly relaxing. The staff is very pleasant. Jimmy checked us in and was very knowledgeable. Check out was great the manager was on the front line to great us and ask is how our stay was. the rooms are very spacious & clean. Breakfast was great a huge variety of food. The view from our room was breath taking. Boston pizza is attached right to the hotel. We had a great stay thank you for being so accommodating. We will be coming back to stay again very soon.

My husband and I were on a bike trip to spend a few days together. We stayed in Fernie at your hotel for an evening. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean, and the bed was quite comfortable. We had supper from the restaurant that is attached to the hotel. It was fantastic that we could order our food and then take it to our room to enjoy as we had had a long drive. In the morning I used your fitness center, it is nice that you have a TV there to watch as you work out as that seems to make the time fly by and you don't even realize that you have been there an hour. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. the were plenty of choices and the service was great. It is probably the best breakfast that we have had at a hotel. There is plenty of hot items as well as cereal, yogurt and bread and pastries. I used my Best western points as payment as we were not able to reach air miles to book through them.

The hotel met our needs very well. We traveled with another couple and were there to hike in the mountains. The best part was the helpful front desk person who gave us great tips on where to hike and how to get there.

A lovely clean property just like you'd expect from BW. Clean rooms. Free parking. Ten minutes from the slopes. There is a Starbuck's just across the parking lot. There is a Boston Pizza attached to the hotel. I'd stay here again.

The pool and 2 hot tubs were just right for younger children. The breakfast was large and had many choices and was hot and fresh. The rooms were clean and spacious too. Right next to Starbucks and Tim Hortons drive thru for your morning coffee!

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was plentiful. Hotel was quiet. Indoor pool and hot tub. Outdoor hot tub. (Note that if you are interested in the exercise room, it is VERY small, but does the job). Perfect place to call home for a night!

We stayed in the room with 2 queens and a sofa bed in another room. Great room for families. Pool was great nice and big with the hot tub overlooking it. Have an outside hot tub as well but we didn't use it. Breakfast was great lots of options. Liked the what appeared to be fresh baked mini muffins. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Hotel and location in Fun Fun Fun Fernie!! Excellent view of the mountains from our room! We have been to Fernie four times and have stayed at the Best Western three of those visits. Fernie is a great recreational town with many activities to participate in both summer, hiking, biking and patio feasting. In the winter, skiing , snowshoeing and hiking. Great restaurants for comfortable dinning or a quick meal.

The people are friendly. The property is clean, and well maintained, this includes the common areas and the pool. The rooms are spacious or at least the room I had on the top floor facing the mountains. The view was special and the air is clean. However, I can't advise sleeping with the window open for that clean mountain fresh air as there are a number of fellows with trucks that sound like Harley's and I don't think these folks sleep. Now the place is a little expensive but if you get a room like the one I had -- it is worth the price. Know the breakfast at this property was terrible so unless things change plan on eating elsewhere. The are many fast food places in town to eat breakfast. Also know there is a Starbucks in the hotel parking lot, and Tim Horton's and McDonalds are within walking distance. Lastly know the Fernie Golf course, which is a great golf course, is down the road behind the hotel. If you haven't got time to play a round do the driving range - maybe a black bear will walk up your fairway while you are playing as it did on us once. The pool and hot tub are great also.

I live day to day in Hotels as I travel for work constantly. My recent stay at Best Western Plus Fernie will now be one of my most memorable places I have stayed! Very friendly staff, clean rooms and facilities! Very accommodating in every way! I was going through the final process of buying a house while my stay in Fernie and it requires a bunch of printing, signing, scanning, and sending back. The staff helped me constantly achieve all these tasks while greeting and assisting all the new guests arriving at the hotel. I thought it would be interesting to add in a "Special Request" while i was booking my stay online. I requested "A stuffed animal to cuddle with at night time. Preferably an elephant as it is my favorite animal! Thanks!" Definitely a joke on my behalf, (elephants are my favorite though) but when I walked into my room I had a very nice surprise! Thank you Best Western Plus Fernie staff for everything! I ski Fernie every winter and now know where I'll be booking my stay always!

This is a very comfortable hotel for business or pleasure. Clean rooms and common areas. Breakfast is great. Staff are friendly and will help you the best they can. Rooms facing highway are quiet...back rooms you can hear the train horn when it comes thru. Have stayed here many times and am very happy. Basic wifi so no streaming videos etcetera. Great golf course with spectacular views. You wanna see mountains come here. Cold beer and wine store out front door as well as coffee shops, fast food and a grocery store right there.

Good location on the main highway, shops nearby, walking access to park and miles of riverside trails, golf course nearby. Staff friendly at check-in/check-out, breakfast offers a full selection of cold and hot and the staff offered to cook fresh eggs if we didn't want them from the hot-pans.The restaurant attached to the hotel is a Boston Pizza, ate there once, quite acceptable, but more choice restaurants close by in the town. Wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Fernie.

This was a great find! The hotel is wonderful! The staff are friendly and get you checked in/out quickly. They are informed on the hotel and surrounding area. The rooms have been renovated, clean and very comfortable. The room I had, featured a king bed, fireplace and a balcony with a great view of the mountains. The complimentary morning breakfast was spectacular! Excellent food and kitchen staff to work with guests. They feature an indoor pool with indoor and outdoor hot tubs. I would stay here anytime!

Rooms are big, but don't have the nice pillow top mattresses that most Best Western hotels have, no fan in bathroom, very poor television, not HD, poor channel selection, bad internet, they do not allow you to stream anything like Netflix, just not what you would expect from a $200.00 per night room.

So a Best Western hotel is a Best Western hotel. There is nothing special about this hotel. I would rather stay in a motel next time, save money and spend it on a decent breakfast instead. The room was OK (feels clean), the beds were OK (two queen beds), but it was just very noisy. The fridge was noisy (we had to unplug it) and the A/C even worse. Also, we clearly heard everything that happened outside our door, but we were lucky that the hotel wasn't very busy. Didn't try the hot tub or pool, but unfortunately we did try the breakfast. Everything is hyper processed (yogurt, ham, eggs, bread, hash browns) but if you don't mind that I guess you'll be fine. The staff was friendly and check-in/check-out was smooth. Even tough this place is located at the edge of Fernie, it's still walking distance to all bars and restaurants.

LOCATION: The hotel is connected to a Boston Pizza and is across from a McDonalds and Starbucks. About a 20 – 30 minute walk to downtown Fernie, (however sidewalks may be obstructed by snowdrifts in the winter making driving preferable.) A 15- 20 minute drive to Fernie Mountain resort TIDINESS: Acceptable STYLE: Best Western has three levels of hotels, the “basic,” Plus and Premier. This location is the Plus class and therefore offers spacious rooms with a typical large chain hotel décor (very “machy-machy" but very comfortable) STAFF: Friendly and helpful. Check-in/ Check out was quick and hassle free. COMMENTS: This Best Western offers an excellent complimentary hot breakfast including freshly made scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, a cereal bar, juice bar and everything you need for a parfait, perfect fuel for a day out on the hill. There are two hot tubs and a small pool great for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Rooms feature a refrigerator and microwave. Free parking and free wifi. We have stayed here before and will definitely stay again

Spent two nights at the hotel with friends during a weekend ski trip. Staff were both helpful and friendly. The hotel was well decorated. The rooms had all of the necessary amenities including a microwave and mini-fridge. Both hot-tubs (indoor and outdoor) were the perfect temperature and were very clean. The hot breakfast was the best part and totally beyond what we expected. All of the food was freshly prepared and there was plenty of room to sit for a group of 8. We would definitely (and probably will) stay again!

We've stayed here a couple of times and its a good place to stay. The rooms are okay and the bedding is good. They have smart additions to the rooms such as hangers and whatnot to dry wet ski clothes. The breakfast here is what sets it apart as it is a very full breakfast with eggs ,bacon, pancakes ect. The only issue is that it's on the hwy so the window being open isn't really a option at night. The pool area is a little small but that's it. It's a good place and if you have kids it's probably one of the best places in fernie.

Me and some family recently stayed here for a snowmobiling trip. Hotel was nice and clean, staff was relatively friendly and the morning breakfast which is included was very good, hot and cold foods. Also attached to the hotel is a Boston Pizza. Only real complaint I have about this location is price, quite expensive for what you get over all, we would stay again in the future.

Had spent an evening here with my husband during a business trip. My husband is a best western platinum member. We had booked the reservations in advance on our way to and from our destination. The service was fast and friendly, very accommodating. The room was spotless and spacious. The continental breakfast in the morning is the best I've ever seen! Sausage, bacon, waffles, eggs, apples, oranges, etc. coffee wasn't bad either. I give it a 5 star!

My friends and I came to Fernie to ski and I think we found the nicest place in town. Rooms are spacious (ours had a gas fireplace that worked really well), new, and comfortable. The lobby always had a fire in the fireplace. Staff went out of their way to help us. I can't think of anything that wasn't perfect, except perhaps the family with small children running around on the floor above us. Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor.

We found ourselves in Fernie after experiencing car trouble. My bank had put an international use hold on my credit card and that left us attempting to sleep in our car. After a few hours of freezing cold we went to the Best Western where we asked if we could warm up and were permitted to sit by the fireplace and use the bathroom. The front desk clerk Devon was awesome. I asked for cost of a room and it was more than I thought my mother would pay for so she called around for us. While on the phone with my mom to help with the room, my mother preferred to pay for us to stay at this hotel. Devon was able to use her rewards information and get her payment information over the phone so we could stay. We checked into our room and went down to retrieve some things from our car. After we got back, she asked if we needed toiletries and had a bag of things we would need for the night. She provided us with soap, shampoo, razors, toothbrush, toothpaste and even offered us hot tea. Our room was very nice and clean. Everything is updated and modern. Bathroom has a large soaking tub. Did not use the pool or hot tub but it looked nice. Lobby was welcoming and warm. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was wonderful and served fresh and hot in a cafe. For an unexpected stay, this was a pleasant visit.

Very comfortable and helpful staff. Breakfast served was very nice. Defineitly would go back to this hotel. Close to Fergie ski area and cross country ski Nordic Center. A short drive or a nice walk to any restaurant in town.

This hotel is ideal for a ski holiday. It has ski lockers, good sized rooms, deep baths and a hearty free breakfast (with a change of items each day). There is also a Boston Pizza and bar attached to the hotel, as well as a pool. There is also a gas log fire in the room.

Nice big rooms, ski room, good breakfasts included, friendly staff, free Wi-Fi... Everything you want! Gas fake log fire also very nice and useful for drying kit. Location is definitely drive-in as town centre is a bit of a walk. There is a supermarket and liq-store opposite which is handy.

This was our fourth family day, four day stay. We missed last year but brought both our son and daughter this year. It was great. It is nice looking to drive up to and pleasant to walk into. The ski storage at the front door is so handy. There is lots of parking. It is only a 12 minute drive to the base of the mountain from the lodge. Our check in was nice and quick. We have stayed in the exact same rooms before but this time they were redone. The beds are comfortable and the rooms were clean. The only concern is that the curtains are not blackout like they used to be. I may have to bring garbage bags to tape up to keep the semi light out. The breakfast was great the first morning. The second morning they ran out of berries for the yogurt. The third morning they were out of berries and yogurt. The fourth morning they were out of berries, yogurt and pastries. It is interesting that this happened the other times we were there too. So you would think that they would plan for this on the family day weekend. Otherwise the breakfast is better than most included breakfasts and the service in the breakfast room is efficient. The outdoor hot tub is perfect after a day of skiing. If the snow is good next year, we will be back.

Very clean, professional and comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast is okay, there is a workout facility with the minimum needed equipment. I find the beds very comfortable. I also like the attached Boston's restaurant. Easy access to the main road through Fernie, and close enough to town you can walk. There is a running and walking trail that you can reach through the parking lot that follows the river.

We stayed here over NYE2016 for a ski vacation with friends. The hotel was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Amenities were great - both hot tubs and pool were clean and well kept. The included breakfast was fantastic, full warm breakfast buffet with nearly everything you could want. Staff were very friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. At check-in we were provided a free-of-charge ski locker to keep our gear which was very helpful. The hotel is next to a grocery store and restaurants. However, it is at the other end of town from the ski hill and downtown, which is a minor inconvenience but with Fernie being such a small town, it's not too difficult to get to where you want to be. Overall, no complaints, would stay here again!

We arrived boxing day and were greeted with beautiful snowy views and the lobby decorated with Christmas decorations. The location is perfect next to an array of stores and restaurants to eat in. The views are spectacular. The outdoor hot tub is great for after skiing and or just a quick relax. The views from the hot tub are similarly beautiful. Would definitely return and recommend.

We've stayed here many times mostly because we are Diamond members and so we typically enjoy our experience at most Best Westerns. Tonight: however, we met Stephanie, night manager. Not quite sure how she ended up in management, but we've actually never experienced such rude behavior at any hotel we've stayed. We ended up walking out and decided to stay elsewhere because of that experience and will think twice about returning.

Had a great stay and the Best Western in Fernie. Hotel staff were very helpful, the lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the room was impeccable. I would definitely stay there again. Ok, what's with the 200 char minimum to be able to post the entry. Now that's getting annoying!!!

We spent 4 nights at this hotel in order to enjoy some skiing over the Christmas holiday. While I generally prefer the convenience of staying right on the mountain, this hotel more than met our expectations. We had a comfortable room with 2 queen beds and a fireplace - we requested a quiet location in advance and were placed on the 4th floor, which was perfect. The hot breakfasts were tasty with plenty of selection, and my 6 year old loved the pool at hot tub. All in all, an enjoyable stay. We'd come back!

The hotel was nice, staff were friendly. My only comment was that the breakfasts could be improved upon. The food was good, but not great - you could tell it was lower quality that some other hotels where you pay >$200/night.

Pulled in after a long dark drive from Alberta on harrowing Highway 3, just as it started to snow. At first I thought it was just relief to get inside, but once inside the rooms and hotel staff spoke for themselves. All nicely appointed, VERY comfortable and accommodating; good location. Highly recommended.

Great place, comfortable rooms and mountain lodge features. Staff were great. Small fitness area but it wasn't busy. A nice pool and hot tub. The included breakfast was very good with lots of different hot items including potato pancakes one day. Lots of variety for everyone. There was also coffee available in the lobby all the time. There is an attached Boston Pizza but suggest the curry hut down the street for something more. Great place to stay and a small shopping/restaurant strip next door within walking.

The Best Western Plus Fernie Mountain Lodge was a choice for a break in the trip to our final destination. It is well located in Fernie and provides clean, quiet and comfortable accommodations. Enroute on our trips we often stay at a Best Western Plus because they should be a "known quantity" and a have a pool.

Though only 2 hours from home, I would definitely go to Fernie Best western again . It was luxurious, other-wordly, had super amenities ( think outdoor hot tub, under log gazebo and mountain skies). The fireplace was welcoming, hotel is on the main highway yet quiet with stunning mountains right outside, great beds, there were many nooks for quiet reading and late night visiting so as to not disturb friend who wanted to sleep and imagine this! - the complimentary breakfast was chef prepared with personal preference of waffles, eggs, cereals and fruit. I deserve, you deserve, to stay there.

This is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting. Just disappointed that no extension was available at check out. I know the official line was that they were full but I've been in lots of very busy, 'full' hotels that are still willing to offer a check out extension of an hour or so. This was quite inconvenient for my wife who had to wait for me to get back from a business appt. I understand the demands of business but in this case, I thought a little more effort could have been made to accommodate a guest's needs. Other than that, we were quite pleased with the stay.

The hotel looks fine in the lobby area. The cost is outrageous for a mid week room it was over $200 for a queen size room. Although everything appeared relatively clean the sheets and pillows had a horrible oily smell. In the morning I complained about this and I was informed that they do their own laundry but had run out of detergent so used another brand. What? Anyway as I drove through Fernie there were other hotels that bosted better prices. The upside is that this hotel included a hot breakfast of choices of French toast, bacon, eggs etc

My stay at the Bestwestern was really enjoyable. I stay there everytime i come to fernie. The staff is very kind. Service is good and breakfast offer a choice of eggs bacon potatoes and all sort of goodies. Price isn't the cheapest but definitely worth it

This was a most pleasant stop off on our return trip to Calgary, A really nice reception area with staff to match. Very helpful, queried our booking choice through Hotels.com and rearranged a more suitable room at no extra cost. A lovely room, spotlessly clean with beautiful views of the mountains. The Boston Pizza attached to the hotel was very convenient after a long drive. Good breakfast,plenty of choices, personal service from kitchen staff. Proper plates & cutlery, no plastic knives & forks and proper plates. Shame all Best Western hotels on our trip were not up to the standards set here. Good value for money,exceptional staff. A long way from the UK but would definitely stay here again.

Pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel is. The front desk receptionist, Kaela (sp?), was very professional and helpful during our stay. Our room was spacious and clean and a good value. Only downside was that it's a bit noisy but that's to be expected given that the hotel is located one Fernie's main thoroughfare. The included hot breakfast was also quite good.

Nice hotel and very clean. Shares a parking lot with a liquor store and a Starbucks. The hotel is attached to a Boston Pizza and a block away from McDonalds and Tim Hortons. The hotel has a nice breakfast. The pool was clean but freezing. The hot tubs were nice. I would definitely stay again and recommend to a friend.
