Booked a room 9/28 in Cullman AL, immediately upon entering noticed our shoes were sticking to the floor. Looked around and the beds had dog hair and flea excrement all over them, sheets were obviously dirty. (I have pics) There were 2 men sitting in a car outside our room that appeared homeless and several people hanging out (at midnight) just outside the room. Didn't even bring our bags in. Asked to cancel, they said to call the manager, I called corporate number, said it would be refunded in 3-5 days. 7 days later no refund. called corporate, given a case # was told it was canceled and should receive credit back on card in 3-5 days. It is 10/25, no refund. He has resorted to sending me texts now, so unprofessional and he agreed to give me a refund if I removed reviews and give him 5 stars. Reviews should have an option of ZERO stars. This is LITERALLY a flea bag hotel and the owner is unethical. At this point I'll pay a lawyer 1000 to get my $101 back. I don't recommend any Best westerns at this point because corporate doesn't back the customers but instead has told me the hotel itself has to give me the refund.
Stayed over for a night while traveling, was very nice check in and checkout, staff was friendly even asked about stay and was room ok, good to heard that. It is a good location, close to businesses and restaurants. Very accommodating on requests prior to arrival for first floor room request, I will stay again when in area
Property is nice and clean . Owner and front desk help us a lot . Good restaurants near the hotel . Hotel room r clean . Bed r comfortable n new mattress were there .the owner said that they r going to renovate this year .
The owner/manager does not care for the hotel. There were stains on the comforter and towels. The walls were patched. The toilet would not flush. The toilet would rock when sitting down. There was “poop stains” on toilet. Staff was unprofessional and rude.
I always stay here . Owner was good as always help everyone n help me a lot . Breakfast was very good as always . Front desk all r good trained . Good food options near the motel . Room are very nice .
Everything was good . Excellent service breakfast was good . I will tell all my Frd n family to come here n stay . Manager was very friendly and help me a lot . Good restaurants near the motel . I enjoy a lot here .
Have been staying at Best Western for many years and this is the first negative review. Check in was excellent. Hotel needs some updates. Went to breakfast at 7am. No coffee, no milk, 2 slices of bread, 1 bagel. No waffle mix.Rang bell at reception area and she came into dining room and made coffee but never came back so we put coffee pot back together. Husband was going to have cereal, but no milk. I was going to have a waffle, but no waffle mix. My husband rang bell and asked about milk and waffle mix. She stated no waffles and slammed a pitcher of milk on counter. Walked back to reception area and picked up bell and threw it against wall. We walked out, but could not get a receipt because the office was empty. I received a reply on Google, however, it was hard to understand because of misspelling. She basically called me a liar. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.
First room we were given had a strong smell of acetone or epoxy. Checking the room the bathtub had just been redone and was stilled taped off. Went to the desk and was given another room a few doors down. When we entered the room smelled like the like the air conditioner filter had never been changed or cleaned. We didn't have another choice and it was in the evening so we ended up staying in the room. Went into the bathroom and the faucet in the tub had a constant trickle and couldn't be shut off and the toilet tank filled barely enough to flush it. Two queens size beds both the mattresses sagged terribly and touch the box spring pedestal when you sat on them. The outside doors had gaps around them and didn't properly. This place reminded me of the Blue Door Motel you see on Live PD/On Patrol.
Housekeeping was definitely in need of improvement. They came banging on our door while we were still asleep. Our bath mat has shoe stains and there were black hairs all in the tub and sink. Not any Best Western standard I have ever had in the past
Good location, clean room , good breakfast . Bright parking area Need a working computer and printer in the lobby for printing boarding pass Stairs slippery when raining, water ponding on stairs to second floor
Never stay at this hotel. We had frozen water lines the day before Christmas and made a reservation for couple of days. We checked in on the 24th and thank goodness the issue resolved itself that evening. We checked out early on the 25th and made it clear that we did not need the rest of reservation. Clerk acknowledged that fact. We then get our credit card statement and the hotel charged us for the multiple days. They are now claiming that we did stay the entire time - which is a outright lie. They continue the charge on our credit card. This is outright FRAUD!!!!!!!!
We stopped here on our way to a softball Ball tournament. Check in was easy. Breakfast was great. Room was clean and staff was nice. I am typing more words to meet the 200 minimum. 200 is a lot of words for a 7 hour stay.
If you need a clean hotel to spend the night .this hotel is a good choice. When I made the reservation I asked for a room on the top floor, when I checked in they gave me on the ground floor, without any explanation. The room was clean, everything worked. Bathroom ok. But the breakfast was a total disappointment, wasn't Best Western standard and no one at the front desk to replace the items, there was no fork The daily price is very expensive for the service offered.. One night,ok
Remodel had upated fixtures in room, nice tile, no mold in the caulk lines, clean everywhere, usb by the bed, new HVAC, hdtv, micowave and fridge. Good breakfast. Good valye for other hotels at that exit.
To many roaches to count. Told front desk...we're booked, but I'll call my manager. Never happened. Big roaches, medium, small, baby small, micro small. All over. Hardly slept. Kept luggage in the car. And the towels were scratchy AF. They didn't offer a discount or anything. Room 220 beware. Bring a can of RAID.. or DeCON. If you have a cat, they'll be busy chasing bugs all night.
AC did not work, room smelled awful, like mold, linens were dingy, dirty looking, bed was the worst, did not get any sleep. Desk clerk did bring a fan, but that also did not work. It was obvious the owner lives there, and is too cheap to fix major issues with the motel
Nice place to stay for the money and pets are allowed. Continental breakfast is better than the last time I stayed here. The prices are very competitive with other hotels nearby who do not allow pets or have a decent breakfast. I highly recommend this place.
With many other properties in the immediate area if it weren't for the fact that I'm an Elite BW member I would have stayed somewhere else. Value not found. The property is very dated and is lacking in cleanliness .
The front desk clerk was very polite and friendly. We had a small issue with the door lock and he literally was at our room in less than a minute. Very clean rooms and located close to restaurants and sttores!
Told we got the last room available, so maybe that's why it wasn't the greatest. Our room had at one time had two beds, but had just the king bed. Half of the room was empty space. Well, except for what appeared to be blood stains on the carpet and up the molding! The closet door wouldn't open at all, though that wasn't that big a deal. The stains made for a not-so-good night's sleep. Staff was nice and the breakfast looked good, though we got coffee and went on our way.
Looks like a motel, seems like a 5-star place. Would certainly return in the future. Yes, I would also recommend it to family and friends alike without a doubt. Do not pass this place up heading down (or up) 65.
Hotel is easy to get to and the check in staff was very pleasant. The hotel is a bit older and room entrances are to the outside. Appears that the property had recently been refurnished. Room was clean and furniture looked new. The breakfast was extensive but the hot food was gone before the end of the breakfast period. Did not see anyone tending to the food area.
Comfortable bed. Not filthy but not super clean. I used to rate this a great budget stay. Got rancid waffle batter and they are so cheap they start putting breakfast away before 9 am! Who does that? Its not awful. Staff not very friendly. Next time will stay across at La Quinta. Coffee Is great. They are slipping on breakfast and customer service.
Just a get away from all the stress of our world today, comfort and courtesy was what we was looking for. We received that and more, can't wait until our next stay, no matter close to home, or a long travel location. It's always a good stay here
Dirty dank hotel Bed was pead in bed sheets and was wet. Front desk gAve me new sheets for us which was nice. Morning attendant smoke outside front door. Nice location and nice breakfast Diamond membership and received no welcome until after I commented about the first room they sent me to. Received no compensation for the hassle of having to stay in a dirty room that I had to change sheets and clean myself since it was given to me….
Bathroom and floor weren't clean. Location was near highway with easy access. Out of facial tissue and not available at front desk. Stay at a Best Western Plus. Restaurants were near and had a variety of foods available.
We chose the Fairwinds because it was halfway on our trip. It is conveniently located off the interstate and easy to reach. Check-in was OK, not very friendly and not very efficient (we had a reservation), and I watched a BW video play while I waited, constantly touting their Covid protocols. I wore a mask, but I saw none at this motel, and there were no plastic barriers at the desk, just business as usual. The room was clean, although I noticed that some of the cups were wrapped and some were not (?!). Our room was close enough to the interstate that we heard the trucks roll by into the night, but the AC fan helped with the noise. Breakfast was typical, although all of the fruit was gone. Check-out was comparable to check-in, not particularly friendly, and no masks. My title says it all, it was just OK, but we will not go back.
Could not ask for much more. It is clean inside and out. They allow pets for a $20 fee. Breakfast had a variety of options, clean dining area, and staff was helpful when needed. I paid around under $100 for a double room with 2 pets.
Glad I picked this motel for the night, after riding over 450 miles on my motorcycle in the cool weather The young man at the front desk was very friendly and got me checked in very quickly. My room is very large and clean. Bed is comfortable. Shower had instant hot water and plenty of it and no standing water in the tub. It is located right off the interstate. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this Best Western motel
My husband stayed here during a short vacation with his brother and father. When they went to their room another family was in their room that families key card opened two rooms my husbands and their own room. Then they charged him $40 for a pillow they say he stole, my husband hasn't stolen a single thing in his life. When I called about it the man named Par or Park wouldn't let me finish talking over me. He kept saying my husband could've left over and over. They charged my husband $162 plus the $40 and I see prices on their site as low as $89. Very bad experience, my biggest concern was that someone else got I got here room.
Unit was really clean and very roomy. All supplies (towels, coffee maker, soaps) were provided. Bed was one of the most comfortable. A/C worked well and was very quiet. Even with Covid, breakfast was had a good variety, dining area clean.
Absolutely terrible! Worst hotel on I-65 in North Alabama. No mention of charge for small dogs (less than 20 lbs) online, on the phone or during check-in. Charged $20/day for 'dog over 20lbs' at checkout even though dog is much smaller. Would not credit bill, extremely poor customer service. Dirty room, smelled like a dirty ash tray and hair all over the bed. Lots of better choices at this exit, save yourself the frustration.
The rooms were musty smelling. The sheets had not been laundered well or just weren't changed. The remote didn't work in one room. The shower ceiling panel in one room was full of mold and the tub had hairs in it. The light burned out in the bathroom in the middle of the night (it happens). Overall these rooms were not up to Best Western standards. Won't stay again.
We booked two rooms and upon entering the room it was obvious cleaning was not done. The bed spreads were filthy, around the beds, and as well as the furniture. I asked the manager about clean sheets, etc. only to be treated very rudely. This man is the general manager and his excuse was that the hotel is ran by “Indians” and I won't get any help. I asked for his name and a number to a manager to which he told me good luck.
I have stayed at every hotel in Cullman. Some are a little fresher and more up to date. If you are very picky about frills? You might want something else. However, if you just need a basic place to stay that is comfortable and clean with good beds and a great breakfast, for the best price? This is it. No pool or spa or frills but it was clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was VERY good with a lot of choices. The water pressure was great and housekeeping kept us in clean towels etc. I was in town for 2 funerals and didnt need fancy just comfort. I will stay here again.
The rooms were FILTHY. Glass and mirrors full of smears. TV screen full of smears. Headboard of the bed full of smears and handprints. Every horizontal surface was disgusting. The floors could not have been mopped. The bathroom was filthy. There was hair in the sink and tub, poo splatter on the wall, dirt, hair and gunk in the corners of the walls. There was food splatter on the walls. The tray the coffee pot sat on was dusty and dirty. The room was so dusty, I noticed when I wiped everything down. The upholstery on the pullout couch was horrible. I asked for extra sheets to cover it. I ended up cleaning everything with my own disinfectant wipes because I couldn't sleep or relax. How gross to be surrounded by other people's filth. I saw the older male housekeeper use a leaf blower as his "broom" and they weren't mopping... just pushing an empty bucket around. Enhanced cleaning means you actually clean ALL of these things, properly and between every guest. I know that because I was a hospital housekeeper during the pandemic...this hotel was nothing but a breeding ground for bacteria and nasty. There was breakfast every day, but they only seemed to restock their supplies on Saturday. The rest of the week it just ran empty and when I asked a front desk staff member, they seemed indifferent. No bananas, oatmeal, fruit cups, burritos, peanut butter, jelly, or waffle mix by Monday. When you pay over 300 for 4 nights in a FILTHY room, you shouldn't have to beg for waffle mix...but there I was. The pool was heated but not open. It was dirty, full of leaves and debris. I was told it's "opening next week" but from the looks of things...I doubt it. Some positive things No bedbugs Clean smelling linens Sweet lady housekeeper Decent location Air conditioner worked well Parking near door
Don't be fooled by a good hotel rating! We were horrified by the condition of our room. The ceiling in the bathroom was dripping water into the tub. This was obviously not a new leak. It had been leaking for a long time . The floor had bits of plastic and dirt on it. The clock and lamp were filthy. The sheets were dirty. When we complained, the desk clerk said it was no use to complain because the owners don't care. The next room was okay, but not great. We slept with our clothes on and didn't use the shower. Don't stay here! All other area hotels were booked or we would have gone elsewhere.
The family staff at the hotel are unpleasant and rude. Cannot even say hello at check-in and check-out. Poor attitude about dealing with customers. The rooms are not cleaned well. The sheets appeared to be already used, without cleaning between customers. One of the big towels had fresh blood and dirt on it, apparently just re-folded but not cleaned. Upon check-in, they gave me a plastic key card inside a filthy reused key holder, and upon checkout requested it and the key back,
I would rate this as my worst hotel experience ever. Avoid this hotel at all cost. We stayed 2 nights ago, wife and I in one room, sister (alone) in room next door. Construction workers sitting in their trucks in the parking lot watched us return from dinner and enter our rooms. Sister had door swing door lock closed, but did not engage the door dead bolt. After dark, sister's door received a body slam to force door open, door opened only an inch or so due to the swing door lock keeping the door from flying open. Sister was scared to death. Sister spent the night in my room. I immediately reported to front desk, clerk seemed uninterested. Should have called the cops. Checked out next morning, reported it to the morning manager, he said he'd review the tapes, and IF he saw something, he'd call and not charge me for the room. There been no call. There was no sense of regret or apology on anyone at the hotel's part. Don't ever stay here.
Although this was a budget hotel by the price, it was still a BW property and was extremely disappointing. The room was dirty, sheets were stained, a chunk of ceiling fell on us in the night. The room smelled of smoke and and desperately needed some updating or TLC. We also were told there would be bagged breakfast, but when we asked at the desk in the morning, were told they only made 8 and were all gone???!!! Terrible experience!
I booked this thru my work travel site. I didn't expect anything fancy. The room was clean We asked for extra towels and were given them at the desk no problem. Monday morning was not as pleasant. Went to get breakfast at 8:25 and there was 1 sausage sandwich for 4 of us. My girls and I were talking and no one came to talk to us about getting more food out. My husband went down at 840 and was told breakfast closes at 8:45. Sign posted says 9. He was able to get a few breakfast burritos. The person working the desk was not professionally dressed and truly was not professional. If breakfast is not available at this location then they need to take it off of the listing. Even grab and go bagels or something would have been appreciated.
was to get a single king bed and got a room with 2 queens not happy at all no breakfast with eggs and sausage was set up when it was displayed on a board. I was very upset and offended when another person staying in the hotel with me asked if i have time to clean her room... my internet kept going in and out not happy
Found this motel on a spur of a moment. It was friendly room was clean. Had good night's sleep good location. Would stay there again if given the opportunity. felt like I was living or staying out in the country. Giving you four stars I never give out five
My stay was absolutely amazing . The manager & front desk staff were great. I will stay at this hotel again. It is very clean & quiet . there are plenty of places to shop & eat around the hotel. I had a great time
First they would not honor the internet advertised price. The room was not in great shape. Trim was missing around the floor, the shower rod was broken and the closet door was unfinished and stained. The had no breakfast for us even though it was only 8 am.
This is a great place to stay!! I have been staying at this Best Western for 5+ years. Staff has been great and rooms are very clean. My 2 fur babies love it too!! The rooms have been renovated and fresh new landscaping. I will stay each visit to Cullman Al.
Not a good beginning to this stay, got room key found door standing open a little. Peeked in and saw a little trash on floor and NO BED. After returning to office and waiting quite a while (computer down due to storm). finally got a "real" room. Was very nice, clean. All they had for breakfast was a grab and go which we weren't even offered. They are redoing roomd tho, so would maybe stay again.

Excellent value, clean room and very friendly service! Definitely will be staying here again in the future, location is very good in relation to the city. I strongly recommend this Best Western location and Hotel to anyone traveling throughout this area!
Although this is an older property, it is very well kept. The parking lot is well lit, so makes you feel safe. The breakfast area contains enough assortment to satisfy everyone. The beds were comfortable. All in all, a good place to spend the night.
Very nice for the price. Location is great. Clean rooms, comfortable pillows, old wire mattresses very uncomfortable. Breakfast was what you would expect for the price. Could here loud music being played outside. Overall would recommend
I thought by the room rate and online photos that we had reservations at a hotel, not a motel with outside room access only. Our reservations were held with a credit card so I couldn't cancel. In the room the vinyl flooring was tacky and had spills in three different places. I didn't take my shoes off until I got into bed. The bathroom towels were small, thin and scratchy. At breakfast half of the tables hadn't been cleaned after use and the food area had spills too. The eggs and coffee weren't very good. The room definitely was not worth the price we paid. In the future I'll investigate my lodging choices better.
Great property, in a great location. There are plenty of things at the exit and it's very convenient. Nice comfortable rooms, clean and quiet. Front desk staff was great at check-in and check-out. Breakfast was a good start to the day.
This was an enjoyable overnight stay. The front desk clerk was friendly and processed the check in quickly. The bed and pillows were some of the best i have had at a hotel. The shower head with its variable speeds was heaven after a long day of driving. The breakfast dishes were plentiful, both hot and cold. I would definitely stay here again.
Nice clean room. Looked like updated. Only thing is was cold outside and heat was not on prior to booking and took awhile to get everything heated up. Nice pillows not as hard as a rock. This is 2nd Best Western where the towels are scratchy, not soft. Very clean breakfast area and had Eggs and sausage gravy and biscuits (no meat). Plus your other usual items. Didn't like the scratchy towels. Desk person very friendly. This makes the 2nd Best Western stopped at with Scratchy Towels.
Good, basic room for the price paid Clean and comfortable. No frills, but didn't expect any. Shampoo, but no conditioner. No lotion or other toiletries. But comfortable room overall for the price paid.
Drug addicted bums beating on door all hours no help from front office. Beds had dirty sheets asked to move was told no room. Asked new sheets house keeping knock on door hands me sheets say put others out door when done. Bed smells like dogs. Flea bites all over my back. Will never stay again.
Very convenient, close to interstate but safe walking areas for our dog. Comfortable beds and better than average morning Buffet. Only complaint is lighting in bathroom could be better. Maybe a light magnifying mirror???
We arrived at the Best Western Fairwinds Inn at 1:15pm for a 2-night stay. We had driven 5 hours in heavy rain, and were earlier than expected due to crossing a time zone. Upon arrival we learned that rooms were available but if we wanted to check in early we would have to pay one-half of the daily lodging rate (about $40). There was no attempt to accommodate us any earlier than the official 3:00pm check-in time, even though we were staying more than one night. Needless to say, we drove around in the rain until the 3:00pm check-in time. It is a hotel's prerogative to choose whether to have a policy where they make a reasonable effort to accommodate travelers who arrive early, or a policy where they try to take advantage of a situation to make a buck, as was our experience. However, if it is the hotel's policy of charging for early check-in, this policy should be clearly stated on its hotel website, and in the hotel description on 3rd party booking engines. Had we been aware of this policy we would not have booked at the Best Western Fairwinds, and because of this experience we will stay elsewhere during our next visit to Cullman.
This is a very nice and clean hotel. The gentleman who checked us in was very accommodating. Especially since we arrived at noon. The lady that checked us out the next morning was great and breakfast was ready on time.
rooms were clean and tidy. receptionist was very nice and professional. location is good - everything you need within small distance. Has been updated since we were there 2 years ago. Good for the price.
A very clean and well kept property. The breakfast was good. Staff was great. The bed was very comfortable. The room had a very fresh and clean smell. We will definitely stay again if we pass thru the area.
My husband and I were pleased with this Best Western Motel. We love the Brand and had read positive reviews on Tripadvisor. Front desk staff was pleasant, check in went smoothly, and our room was very clean. As other reviewers had stated it is newly remodeled and we liked the update! One thing to note is that this property is not going to please if you expect the Hyatt but then you're not going to pay those prices either. We loved the fresh, clean room, clean bedding, and friendly staff. The new mattress was very comfortable! I don't mean to complain but I did notice that all hard surfaces were very dusty. Side tables, tissue box, microwave area, lamps, and desk were quite dusty. Other than than the room appeared clean. Something to add is how quiet our room was! Because it's a motel I really expected to hear outside noises but this property is away from the busy highway nearby. Another plus is the outdoor lighting. The area seems very safe and with the bright lights in the parking lot it's easy to get from your car to your room. Overall, I would give it five out of five stars
This hotel was definitely better than hotels in Oneonta, but below Best Western standards in general. Traffic noise was louder at night than expected. Room was clean and there are lots of places to eat and a Walmart in close proximity. Your options around this area are very limited, so relative to those options, this isn't a bad choice, but not great compared to similarly rated hotels in major cities.
The rooms were comfy and clean. Our issue was that we checked in about 3:30 am and said we wanted to get late check out and sleep in. The clerk was super sweet and set us up for late check in. When we parked we noticed a caution roped off section in front of our room with a parking space next to it and asked if there would be construction waking us the next day and was assured they would not be working and could sleep in peace. We double checked that it was ok to park next to the roped off section and again were assured it was ok. Got in the room and the remote didn't work. The clerk came in and fixed it for about 60 seconds. I finally figured out how to fix it myself. Well the next morning at 7:30 we get a call that we have to move our car so they can do construction on a leak they had on the second floor. We explained that we checked on that the night before and were assured where we parked was good and there would be no construction. We were told if we didn't move chunks of concrete would come down on our car and she knew nothing about what we were told or why. I told her if concrete comes down on our car there would be a nice lawsuit if that happens. I explained again that had they been honest the night before we would have gone to another hotel without construction that we were only there to get sleep before getting on the road again and now we were woken up after 4 hours ruining our stay. I said I was upset and wanted management to call us back. She did offer to move our room but it was too late for that to help us get sleep the sleep we were there to get. She also pushed the fact that they had a free breakfast we had no interest in since we made it clear we wanted to sleep through it. Well of course management avoided us and refused to discuss the issue so we just checked out since we could not sleep through construction and explained that if the manager was not willing to speak with us we wanted them to know that we would be leaving a review of the incident online so others are aware of how they do business. Obviously the night clerk was not informed on what was going on the next day and should have been considering the issues. The check in clerk was very apologetic but that could not fix the fact that we should have gotten compensation for their mistake but didn't. We will avoid this hotel anytime we are in the area again.
The cleaning materials were not rinsed out after cleaning, and the bottom of the tub was extremely slippery. I slipped in the tub and hit my head, knees, and legs resulting in bruising. The safety bar was too high to assist in getting out of the tub.
we recently stayed at the bw cullman on our way to florida. the place was clean. we had a good visit. I left some meds in our frig & called back the next day, they kept for me until our return home a week later
This was a wonderful place to stop. It was clean and very very comfortable. It was easy access to unit out. I was able to park right in front of my room. Which is always convenient for getting things in out of the car. Excellent property.
We were very pleased with this hotel. We had 3 rooms and stayed for two nights on a Saturday and Sunday. The front desk attendant was very helpful and courteous when we checked in. Our rooms were large, clean, and had a comfortable king bed with couch, desk, microwave and refrigerator. I usually wear ear plugs for sleep when staying at hotels, but not here; it was quiet. The general manager told me that it has been about a year since it was remodeled; he apparently has done an excellent job managing and they likewise did an excellent job of remodeling. Entrances to the rooms face to the outside, which is fine with us; makes in and out much easier and it does seem to be a safe area. We enjoyed the breakfast; the attendant greeted us with a welcoming smile as we entered. They had the good selection of warm and cold items. Restaurants are within walking distance; Waffle House was right across the street. Hotel wi-if was excellent. The grounds were well kept, attractive and clean. Best Western should be proud of this hotel; this example is why one returns.
In town for a family gathering and the rest of the family booked across the street. Key geography lesson there - the other side of the main road features newer everything (hotels, restaurants, etc) for those who would prefer that. The BW, as you'll see in other reviews, needs a bit of paint and touch up, but they were doing that very thing as we checked in, so, they're doing it! As my title says, it was a great bed and fabulous pillows and after all, isn't that a deal maker for a one night stay? Waffle House across the side street was excellent as well. Breakfast set up looked awesome (we went out to breakfast). AC worked very well, all lights worked, tub drained quickly, all surfaces were clean clean clean. No freezer compartment in the mini fridge, just fyi. We were on ground floor room and/but heard no noises either above or outside and the hotel was full. Oh...and we saved about $80 for the night as well. Only thing that was a big of a concern and it certainly could have been a coincidence....while checking in, the very friendly and efficient young man asked for my phone number and then input it into the system. It couldn't have been more than 20? 30 seconds later, I get a call from (drum roll) Equatorial Guinea!! Of course I didn't answer but you can bet I called CC company and put them on the lookout over the next month.
From the check in process to the room the staff was amazing the room which I had a double queen was efficient clean and comfortable slept good the room was spacious! Plenty of parking on property! Liked the access to local restaurants near by!
Wouldn't have been as happy with this place had the carpet not been changed to hardwood. Made the room feel cleaner. Bathroom could use a remodel and bed linens needed updated. Brkf was good, gravey, biscuits, eggs, waffles
We stayed overnight at the Best Western Fairwinds Inn, Cullman, AL recently. It was a very pleasant surprise. The room was freshly updated. It had laminate flooring and tile in the bathroom. A separate tub/toilet area from the vanity, made it possible for one to shower while the other did hair and make-up. It had the most comfortable bed! The sheets were clean and crisp, the pillows soft and fluffy. Had all the conveniences, from mini fridge, microwave, hairdryer, coffee maker and iron. Anything you would need while traveling. Easy wifi access and selection of tv channels. It was clean and bug free. My only complaint is the only A/C or heat was from an under the window wall unit, so the shower area got a little warm and I can imagine may be chilly in winter. Otherwise it was A+ accommodations and I would recommend it to other weary travelers. The staff at check in and check out were very friendly. The parking lot was well lit and it was quiet.
The newly remodeled rooms are fantastic & love the Direct TV. The Front desk & owner are very friendly & great to talk with. Very comfortable beds & large rooms. I had stayed there before & was outdated & kind of worn out.
My husband and I were just looking for a place to stay while making our way back from a vacation in Florida. I chose the Best Western based on other reviews online. This hotel was extremely clean, the staff very friendly, and breakfast was good. I would choose this hotel again in the future.
The hotel check in was super easy. We picked this hotel based on being pet friendly and Trip Advisor reviews. The pet fee was reasonable in relation to other hotel chains. The room was very clean. The only thing that needed some attention was the coffee maker. It didn't look like it had been dusted in a long time. The hotel had doors leading not to the outside making me think it was an older hotel but it had been updated very nicely. This was actually our first time staying at a Best Western. Typically we don't stay at this chain because of bad reviews but this hotel was an exception. Best Western should be proud of this location because If they were all like this one we'd stay with them more often. Also, Chelsea checked us in and was exceptionally friendly and got us an early check in.
The room seemed to be updated & was very clean... front desk personnel very friendly, breakfast area was small but breakfast was very good & the employee was very friendly!!! Did not realize dogs allowed, there were a few barkers, also a few people outside our room very loud talking & laughing, after a very long day of travel this was annoying but not the hotels fault
Stopped overnight here on the way back from Florida based on the reviews ... the front staff receptionist was very polite and the hotel looks alright, updated paint in the rooms and easy on/off from the interstate. Having said that, the rooms and especially the washrooms are on the very small side. On that note, full-size persons or persons with bad news may have a bit of a hard time with the toilets which sit fairly low to the ground. The room was not as clean as most Best Westerns we have stayed at ; we found several long black hairs in the washroom (we are both blonde). The breakfast room is tiny and thank goodness there was a Waffle House across the street because the free breakfast was not appealing to us. The hotel was quiet enough and after we forgot a dog bowl at the hotel the manager phoned us right away - nice touch!! All told, we weren't horribly impressed with the hotel but it was alright for overnight.
Friendly helpful staff. I needed an oil change for my car and the lady at the front desk tried to help me find a service center. Great location. Lots of food choices very close hotel. Quiet room. We were traveling with our two large dogs and they seemed to enjoy the room.
This is a great little hotel at a reasonable rate. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The breakfast was good and the dining area was clean
This motel has been updated and I would recommend staying at it. Wood laminate flooring, New countertops, refrigerator, microwave and television. Most of all very clean. I will stay again when traveling in the area. Had a handicap accessible room #101. Breakfast was just average but the room and price made up for it.
I travel here several times a year and I'm a little late with my review, Brittany at the front desk is absolutely one of the best there is. She's helpful and sweet and does a fantastic job. Michael is very professional and pleasant. I enjoy staying here. They make me feel very much at home.
Checking in and out of the hotel was a breeze . . . the staff were very polite, courteous and helpful. Room was very clean. Breakfast filling. Best Western has stepped up their game to the benefit of travelers! I thank you . . .
If your a RE Garrison driver avoid staying here. If you do make them come clear room prior to you leaving and put no issues on receipt. They will lie to Garrison and cost you your job. Stay out if possible and stay clear of yard a lot of piers there too especially the lady ( loosely used term) that supposedly cleans office.
The wife and I stayed here for a night on the way back from a trip up north. The week before we had stayed at the Quality inn just down the street. Both hotels were the same price, but this Best Western was much better. Room was good size, very clean and updated. Good strong hot shower, comfortable beds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good - eggs, sausage and above average bisquits & gravy. The location is great, plenty of restaurants and stores nearby, some within walking distance. Plenty of seating in breakfast area. We will definitely be staying here again on future trips up north.
Hotel was very nice and staff were very friendly and breakfast was nice would come back and stay at this hotel.Resturant was at the walking distance.Pleanty of option while staying at this hotel.Rooms was very nice and clean
I have stayed at this hotel a few times now, and each stay has been consistently good. The beds are clean and comfortable, the rooms are spacious, and the shower pressure is good. The breakfast was good and the staff that I interacted with was always professional. I travel with an xbox and the wifi was more than capable of online gaming or streaming a video on netflix. The hotel is situated in a good location right off of the highway and is near a super-center Walmart as well as many different restaurants.
Clean, new remodel, great value. Easy access, great location. Great parking lot lighting. Breakfast was good. yup would do it again. Since trip advisor requires 200 characters in this box, just filling up space with junk.... maybe I should stop doing reviews for them lol
I really cannot say enough nice things about the staff and our stay! The general manager is feeling and absolutely efficient. The breakfast woman was very sweet and had no problem getting things going for me again 5 minutes before breakfast over! We had one small issue and it was taken care of immediately with care and concern. We will be repeat customers!
The staff was very friendly and got you to your room quickly. The bed was great and room was very clean. Very quiet location. Channel line up didn't correspond with sheet in room had to look through channels on TV to find something.
Very unusual to find a high quality TV and cable provider but this is the best I've run into. This is a simple overnight stop on our way to Florida every fall. We don't need a great place. I booked the room on priceline from the parking lot and saved maybe $10. Went right in and they had the info. The only thing preventing a 5 star rating is the breakfast. I'm not much for instant coffee but this one they had wasn't bad. The breakfast offerings were pretty weak but okay. Attendant was kind of a stalker talking with that very hardcore southern slang. Probably looking for a tip. Keep looking gal.....
This was a great experience from booking the room, the gorgeous clean room, friendly staff, and great warm breakfast. I will be back. They thanked me for being a best western member and for coming back again. Convenient to 165 , gas stations, and food places.
We have stayed at this hotel before and really liked it. This time we didn't get our requested smoking room and we were also told there were no rooms on the first floor as I requested. I know these aren't guaranteed but knowing they don't have an elevator and we have back problems and a disability issue I wanted first floor. When I questioned going to another hotel the clerk insinuated I booked via a google web site when I stated I had used BW site and that I'd have to fight to get my money back. In the end we were given the handicap room and that was fine but right away we found a bug. The room had a damp odor and it truly needed some touch ups. I am sad to see this place go down hill.
I would have given this hotel a perfect five score because most (not all) of the staff are pleasant however the room where they assigned us first has got bugs and I'm talking about 8 bugs roaming around the room and a bunch of them behind one of the picture frames on the wall. The staff informed us that it's a seasonal thing in Alabama however it's not a good enough reason considering we also live in AL and you don't see bugs like that around our place and if it was really the case then the second room they offered us would have had bugs too, right? We appreciate that they offered us a transfer (or transfer to a different hotel ) and the second room was clean enough, no bugs, however it smells a little bit. For the most part of the stay is fine but I wish their housekeeping staff could do better on maintaining the cleanliness of the room. It is after all the most important factor for good sleep quality of guests.
I can't say enough about the staff here! My husband has family in the area so we have stayed here before. Not that our other stays were not nice but this time we really had an opportunity to interact with the staff since we were staying for 3 nights. Everyone is so nice and accommodating. From the time we checked in until we departed we felt very much at home. Brittany at the front desk is an asset to this business. As well as Gayle who runs the breakfast bar in the mornings. We didn't interact with the housekeeping staff much but the times we did they were very friendly as well. My only criticism of the property would be that I was disappointed that the pool was already being closed for the season as it was still very warm outside. But we will definitely stay here again when we're in town.
This Hotel was extremely nice and clean. The staff were excellent. The room was very clean. We really like the area of the Hotel. I would definitely recommend that you stay here on your next trip. Their are plenty of eating places with-in walking distance.
This is a really nice older hotel but it has been recently renovated. The rooms are quite spacious and clean. Ours had a coffee maker, fridge and microwave. There was a sofa for us to sit and relax on instead of the bed. The only thing for us is the continental breakfast didn't have instant oatmeal available. Aside from that it was great. Parking area was wonderful as the spots are plenty big enough to accomodate larger vehicles. Checking in and out was a breeze as well, the front desk people were very nice and helpful!
Overall the hotel was fine, nice staff and the rooms could use updated but were OK. Comfortable bed but TV could use updating. They need to have additional ice machines as I was at one end of the hotel and the ice machines were at the complete opposite.
There is a large hotel and restaurant area on Highway 157 in Cullman, Alabama. Most of it is on one side of the street. We chose across the road, Best Western Fairwinds Inn for a recent stay. It was BEAUTIFUL! Very clean and recently remodeled, I believe, as all the paint and linens were so fresh and new. The staff was absolutely awesome! Upon check in, the owner-manager saw we were having trouble figuring out the new type of keys where you just scan it against the lock. Our failing, not theirs! He came to assist and asked if he could inspect our room to ensure his Housekeeping Staff was doing their job properly. How amazing is that? We travel about 6 times per year and have never had such great attention. It is easy to access this hotel from the main highway and there's a Waffle House within walking distance. That's the only type of meal we like after 7 hours in the car---quick, tasty, and inexpensive! Now let us go lie down and sleep at that beautiful hotel room. Great job Best Western in Cullman. I have already recommended you to several people up there for their out of town guests and clients.
Checked in late but no issues, the gal at the front desk was not only polite but very helpful. We left the AL gulf coast due to the storm coming and was looking for a plave to camp in the area, she had several suggestions. Kasey was very helpful. Thank you very much. As for the rooms, our room had a mildew smell and the toilet had hair on the lid.
An easy to find very comfortable clean room at reasonable prices with plenty of fast food restaurants as well as a Walmart in shouting distance. With 4 of us we needed more bath towels (which were absorbent) and a couple of pool towels for the kids which were handed out to us by an extremely nice staff. Pool area was nicely furnished with lounges, chairs and an umbrellas table. Pool was sparkling clean. The continental breakfast served in a fairly spacious dining area was above average. They take dogs, have smoking rooms and they were filled so make reservations. One criticism the washer, dryer facility was unkept.
This is my second attempt to list this review. Stay far away from this place. The room was so dirty I had to use all the bathroom towels to cover the floor because of dirt and scum on the floor. Beds were old and the pillows should be thrown away.
The rooms have been updated and they are clean. The parking lot is lit up brightly at night. It was very family friendly. The pool was clean and inviting. We were in and all day and night and we would see staff each time we came in.
This was my second visit to Fairwinds Inn. They have made some changes for the better. The exterior appeared to have had a "face lift." They have a new General Manager with whom I was really impressed. He is trying to make the property as inviting as possible considering its age and style. The front desk staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed. They serve a complete breakfast buffet. . I had only 2 negatives: they have no walk-in/roll-in showers and the property is a little difficult to find, especially at night.
We used this inn for an overnight on our way to Orange Beach, AL, as Cullman was about halfway. For check in, we waited for a while because the manager, Michael C., was unraveling a snafu with a guest. When it was our turn, he apologized for the delay and also thanked us for being a BW Rewards member. We had two rooms, both of which were clean and comfortable. The sheets were clean but should be replaced right away as they were showing wear. All staff members were very courteous and friendly. The breakfast was especially good and offered a variety of foods and make-your-own waffles. We were on first floor and had a handicapped room and there was a handycapped parking space just outside the door. The parking lot and entire complex were very well lit and we felt safe. Beds were okay, and we even checked for signs of pests. There was a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave in the room, but we did not use them. Several restaurants were nearby. We had a AAA room rate and we were signed up for a $20 reward rebate. Overall, it was adequate for an overnight. We would use it again. ADDED: (The "terrible" review two posts below left us confused. We were two rooms away from the guests who were asked to leave and had the police called on them. There is probably much more to the story than reported here.)
Stayed here on our way to gulf shores. It was okay. Nothing fancy just a place to sleep for the night. Check in was easy and worker was friendly. The room was clean excep it was a non smoking room and smelled like smoke. The kids enjoyed the free breakfast.
Sheets were not washed on either bed. Dirty, code violations with missing electrical covers. General Manager offered to refund pet fee of $10.00! Seriously....when I expressed that it wasn't sufficient, he ordered us to vacate and called the police. Unreal experience. Go elsewhere. Note, stayed at this hotel for years with NO problems. It is now under new management.
Service was friendly and helpful. Checked in on a Friday night around 7pm. Plenty of placed to eat nearby. Rooms were clean, they also have a small pool. Breakfast was good, waffle maker, egg omelets w/cheese, and food was fresh. Nice place to stay for the price.
Overall the room was pretty good. The air conditioner was very cool during the night, which was a plus for my family. The bathroom floors had dirt in the corners but i am OCD about bathrooms being clean. The beds were comfortable. Front desk lady was awesome during check in and very friendly. Now...As far as hot breakfast...they had waffles, biscuits, egg and cheese omelets, and sausage(which wasn't good at all). No gravy for the biscuits. We would stay again if we are in that area.
This is the perfect place if you are just passing through on vacation. Everything was clean and the staff was very friendly! Breakfast was provided and was perfect to grab something quick on our way to the beach!
I was here for one night to break up a long drive. The staff at the desk was friendly when checking in and out. The room was clean and the bed fairly comfortable. Plenty of parking available. There's several places to eat close by and a gas station convenient for filling up before heading back out on the road.
Clean room, comfortable bed, courteous staff. Convenient location but far enough away from busy loud roads - did not hear road noise in the room. Equipped with refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast room clean with helpful staff. I would stay there again. Good value.
Passing through and only needed a place to lay our heads for a night. The bed was comfortable and clean as well as the room in its entirety. The parking lot was very well lit so we felt safe taking the dog out to potty during the night. There really isnt many places on the property for a dog to potty but you are right next to fast food and they have more grassy areas. We will definently stay here the next time we are in the area.
Cleanliness and service was good...exactly what I expect from Best Western. The continental breakfast was good and the area was very clean. The tables were very bad (wobbly) and we spilled our drinks. Took a few minutes to find a table that was solid.
The entire staff went out of their way to provide whatever service we required. Knowledgeable of the area. Breakfast was excellent. There was a complimentary newspaper every morning. The WIFI was great.
I was looking for a hotel in Cullman while I worked the recent storm in the area. The Best Western was the only place available. My plan was to stay until a "better" hotel opened up. After my first night I decided to stay and I've been here for 3 weeks. Staff is friendly. Housekeeping does a good job. Bed is comfortable. Blanket is thin and I needed a second one. Breakfast is good, with hot eggs and meat, the same as most motels and hotels. I usually don't like motels that have direct access to the parking lot, security issues and people hanging out near the doors. That has not been an issue here, and they keep the lot clean. Several places to eat within walking distance, and gas stations nearby, Walmart is less than a mile away.
The room was very clean & comfortable. Although I did not eat breakfast there, it appeared that they offered a good selection of breakfast items to choose from. Nice selection of restaurants in the area.
The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast were great. Enjoyed my stay at this Best Western. Will be staying again on my next trip. The rooms were nice and clean. Right off the interstate. Surrounded by great restaurants. Wal-mart about a 1/2 mile up the highway.
This is a nice clean hotel. The front desk checked us in right away and even let us check in a little early. they were very professional and frienldly. breakfast had biscuits and gravy which was real good and some pastries also. a few different kinds of juice was also available.
Excellent for the price plus easy off I-65. I booked thru a third party but the hotel had no record of the reservation when we arrived about 500PM. The young lady on the desk quickly made a phone call to the manager or owner and got us a wonderful room at the rate I had on my email. Definitely would stay again enroute to Gulf Shores AL.
When I am paying the bill anywhere , I find it unacceptable for anyone on the staff to be belligerent and not work with me . My request wasn't off the wall but they were dead set on getting their way ... there are many other hotels in the area for my next stay here in Cullman . No frills here , average rooms with average beds . Definitely needs more cable movie channels . I recommend looking at other places to stay if you are looking for some bang to your buck .
Best Western is always our first choice. The quality for the price is usually right on and their rewards program is great! And once you go above Platinum I've heard it gets even better! Can't wait to see how that can be!
Was a nice place to stay. Breakfast was OK, but ran out of fruit and napkins. No ice in ice machine. Other than that, it was very nice and comfortable. The staff could have been more helpful. Didn't tell me where the room was, or what time breakfast was served. Had to wait for them to appear at the service desk. They were always elsewhere.
For the money it was a good deal. Just didn't like it had no elevators just outside stairs & I am disabled but was put on the 2nd floor after my request was for a handicap room. The room was clean. Bathroom was small, but good enough. Front desk was very nice & helpful. The breakfast had a good variety, but if you didn't get there early you were out of luck. The hours need to he longer than 6 to 9. I was there for treatment of my MS with Dr Langke.
Couldn't be more pleased with the staff ,room,or service. Breakfast was very nice staff were super helpful and friendly the interstate was closed due to an accident so we decided to stay and really enjoyed Amy stay if we are ever in the area would definitely stay again.
The room was comfortable and the decor was fun. I felt very safe and the room was clean. There needs to be some caulking done in 105's bathroom and there is a moldy smell when entering the room. Otherwise, the experience was great.
Wonderful restful stay here again on our trip to Florida. Very nice helpful staff, checking in and checking out. Kudos to Angela and Ila! The location of this hotel is right off Intersate I65. Lots of dining places to choose from.
We are driving through town & needed a place to stay overnight. All the other places were sold out & this place was our last pick because at midnight, it just looked the dumpiest. Well we needed a room & this was the only place with one. We were all pleasantly surprised when we got in our room (#208). It was pretty nice. It looked like it was recently remodeled & had a contemporary feel to it. It was really clean with all new furnishings. We felt very comfortable & had no problem sleeping. When we got outside the next morning, we could tell it had been painted. Very small checkin area & had small things to eat if you wanted a quick bite for breakfast. If you are looking for an overnight place to stay, I would definitely recommend this place.
hotel staff confused all the reservations. gave us keys to rooms that were already occupied so we walked in on people in the room. they had to knock on doors to see who was staying or going. housekeeping was poor. i wouldn't stay there again
This was more of the motel style hotel. Room was clean and convenient to interstate. There were several other hotels, restaurants and gas at this exit. Parking lot area was very well lighted, would stay here again if traveling in the area.
Our room was dirty and needed repairs. It could also stand some upgrades. The staff was rude and unprofessional. There were gnats in the room and in the dining room. The bedding was torn and scratchy.
We found one of the last hotels available in the area for the Jessie Owens classic cross country run. I was a little leery because the unit looks like Best Western took it over from another chain. It's a small hotel with only one long wing and it's outside rooms. We were pleasantly surprised to find the room clean and comfortable. The hotel is located close to a lot of eateries. They also offer a deluxe breakfast that helps get the day started. All in all we had a good nights sleep for the big run.
I thought after reading the reviews this would be a nice place to stay. The price was good. We went to our room to watch tv and unwind from our long trip ans it took 20 minutes before the tv loaded to even come on. And if you turn it off it does it again. FYI: DO NOT TURN THE TV OFF!! Then later as we got ready for bed we noticed that there was bugs on the wall at every lamp. We didnt have the door open except when we walked in, so they had to have already been there. There was also trash behind the nightstand from about 2 weeks before our visit and a bbq packet from McDonalds under the bedskirt. The light over the sink was very dim and the light covers had bugs in them. I will not be staying here again. This is by far the worst Best Western I have ever been in. I have attached pictures of the bugs.
Staff was great room clean and no major issues, one small issue couldn't connect to Wi-Fi I'm sure if I had call down to the office they would have figured it out but at that point it was late so I just went to sleep.
We booked this hotel on our way to St Louis and needed a hotel close to the highway. We liked the room but there was a funny smell in the room. So we bought a aromatic candle to refresh the room. Staff was very friendly.
Nice rooms. Numerous outlets for chargers, etc. Good lighting in room with selectable levels where needed. Wide selecting of eating establishments close by. Friendly helpful staff. Swimming pool well maintained. Breakfast was warm and inviting with several selections to meet most needs. Pets were welcomed (which is becoming harder to find while traveling,)
Very clean!! Front desk staff EXCELLENT! Nice variety breakfast. Eggs horrible. Ate biscuits and gravy instead. Yogurt fruit cereal waffles bagels all available. Convenient to highway Several restaurants very close. They still have smoking rooms so if you do not smoke, like us, be sure to ask for non smoking.
The room was clean, neat and stocked. The pool was my favorite spot when we were at the hotel, we were in it at least once a day. The staff treated all guest kindly. The grounds were clean and well mantainted. I will be back in the future.
After driving for more than nine hours, we decided to spend the night here, due to the proximity of "Ave Maria Grotto" , which we had planned to visit the following morning before proceeding home. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the beds could use a replacement, too soft. Starting the TV we needed to call the staff and come and show us, since it takes about 15 minutes to recycle through all the channels and this occurs every time you turned off and on, just a mild inconvenience. Not a bad place to stay for an evening
Waited at lobby desk on arriving for 10 minutes with no check-in staff and had to find a cleaning staff to help find front office personnel. We had the exact same happening on check-out as well. CAUTION: Poor check-in, check-out service.
Stopped here after visiting family in Prattville Alabama. But had a very long day, we droved up from Punta Gorda Florida. This place came up on Tripadivor 2 queen beds for $80 a night, they meet that price. Got room on bottom floor, nice size room. Side chair, deck with chair, 2 queen beds ( frim but not hard 4 soft pillows) big tv, mini fridge, micowave, closet. Bath with 1 sink, toilet and bathtub behind door.
We were there to go to a camp. Picking her up in two weeks. Will stay somewhere else. Lots of hotel choices here. This BW needs a rehab. I expected better. Cost was ok. Staff ok. Breakfast ok. Exercise room closed. Room dated.
This B.W. is kinda like putting lipstick on a pig. The rooms are updated with new furnishings but the walls and doors are still old and outdated. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and we slept well for the one night we needed a place to lay our head.
Not a Hyatt BUT if it's a one night stay and a clean, comfortable room is what you are striving for, feel free to pick this BW unit! Breakfast is "ok" (aren't most of them?). Gal at the desk at check in was wonderful; really made me feel important and was truly happy to see me. Exterior gives good first impression.
Upon arriving at the hotel I was met by a friendly front desk manager who checked me in quickly and answered my questions of the area. My room was cool and comfortable. Bed was my favorite because they had gotten new mattresses. Great dining all around also. I will recommend this hotel and I will return.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay. Front desk person was very courteous & helpful. Room was clean & quite & you could get hot water in a second. Recommended our daughter stay here on her trip to Florida. Bed was comfortable but only complaint was that the sheets were pretty rough. We will stay here again next year on our way to FL.
We were attending a conference over the weekend in Cullman and chose Best Western because I am a rewards member. Very bad choice. Apparently the hotel had JUST changed hands and the staff were apparently brand new and did not even seem to know where all the keys were. The key-cards were frequently unable to open the locks and had to be re-keyed. The housekeeping services never came into our room. While freshly painted, it was obvious this was a very old motel which has seen better days..... better plumbing, better HVAC, and definitely better services. I was charged for having a pet when I did not and had not requested such allowance. When I requested the moderate charge be reversed, I was never given a response and the charge remains to this day. Really left a bad taste in my mouth.
Our room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was good and extensive. The facility was clean but not immaculately so. Our only criticism were the beds. They were a bit too soft. Overall a good hotel and we'll priced.
This is a below average hotel, with uncomfortable beds and bedding. Since we didn't have reservations, the clerk said we would have to be on the second floor.Whatever that meant. It would be hard to believe the first floor rooms would be better. Not good value at any price. The room had a very unclean look and feel. The bathroom appeared not to have been updated since the building was built, the lighting over the vanity was terrible, the room was humid and had a icky feel to it. So we paid a fair amount of money to NOT get a good nights sleep. We generally stay at BW, but will be more choosy in the future. Can't believe this passes BW standards. To say I'm disappointed with BW for this hotel would be an understatement.
The hotel has recently been painted and it looks very nice. so I can say that the hotel fits the category of very good. I did not partake breakfast, but it looked nice. The dinning area is small and not very attractive.
This is a below average hotel, with uncomfortable beds, and an unclean look and feel. It was definitely not good value for the price. It seemed that all hotels in this area were over priced....can't figure out why except that the route is on the way back from Florida so possibly snowbirds! I've stayed along this route for many years and always had a quality place for a fair price....not in this town!
I stayed here this pass weekend. Was in town for Grand daughters wedding. This BW was very good. My room was very cleaned Staff was very friendly. Maranda at the front desk. She was GREAT !!!! She always had a great smile on her face. I didn't have breakfast there(meeting family for breakfast) but it did look good. I just went up for coffee. You are close to a lot of places to eat. I would stay here again.
Comfortable room (microwave, refrigerator, hairdryer, etc...) and wonderful, friendly staff! Breakfast was good - the basics - eggs, sausage, biscuits, waffles, etc.... Plenty places to eat in the area.
Drove up and we seem a lot of building material along side. Got inside front door and all was neat and clean. They said they were doing some new floors. Used coupons from trip book and got a very nice room for the money.
By far our best stop yet! We were a little unhappy to see all outside access to hotel rooms...but that proved to be a non issue! Very easy to find this place just off freeway, lots of parking, close to many gas stations, restaurants, and a Walmart only several blocks away. Check in was a breeze, and a very friendly lobby young lady took care of us! Our room was on the second floor, so a walk up metal stairs, located outside, but covered, is necessary. The continental breakfast was outstanding, and attended closely to by the young woman at the front desk. The motel guest directory in our room listed a fitness room open 24 hrs a day on the center of the second floor, but we asked the front desk, and no fitness room was available. We enjoyed our overnight stay here and recommend it to all!
The staff here made us feel right at home, The rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely be returning when passing through. Greatly appreciate the wonderful attitude of the front desk manager (Angela)
I called this hotel direct to make a reservation for that day because I could not complete my reservation on my smart phone due to poor connectivity in the car. The room rate I was quoted was $10 more than what the BW website quoted. When I questioned the FD person she responded I would have to book the room on the website to get that rate. I called the BW reservation number & booked the room at the stated rate. When I checked in I could tell it was the same person whom I had talked too. She was not friendly but competently checked me in. This is an older property, room was clean, beds & linens were average. The breakfast was the worst I've experienced in many years; certainly the worst BW breakfast. Artificial eggs, Biscuits & Gray, (which I hate) pancakes/waffles. No bacon or sausage. The biscuits were not eatable without gravy on them. Just a very limited & poor quality of items. Interestingly; the next day I stayed at another BW at a lower rate, a great breakfast and extremely wonderful FD personnel!!
Very inexpensive. Exterior not the best and the interior of the guest rooms were tired and worn. I had 3 bug bites on my arm the following morning. Bathroom did not have the usual supplies of shampoo etc. I would not recommend this hotel.
This is the 2nd year we have stayed at Best Western Fairwinds in Cullman, AL on our way to/from Florida. Staff is friendly, rooms are fine, they let us bring our large dog, convenient to interstate, plenty of dining options nearby, and the value is very good.
All the staff members of this hotel display such a good attitude in making their guests feel welcomed and like being at home. From a welcome with a smile and a good morning upon entering to eat breakfast. My special thanks to Angela and Ila.
I did not stay there but my niece was traveling alone and needed to find a room. We were trying to coordinate a reservation in Cullman but I was having problems. Amanda, the night clerk, helped my niece and I to secure a reservation for the night. Amanda went out of her way to assist us and it is truly appreciated. If I am ever in Cullman, BestWestern is where I will stay
We were researching family history and visiting various cemeteries on this trip. We chose Best Western for its location and pet friendly policy. Our room was comfortable and clean although it smelled of tobacco smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had to have our room key reactivated nightly - rather inconvenient since our room was at the end of the long wing of rooms but was fixed promptly.
My daughter and I stayed overnight before a sporting event in a nearby town. For the most part, this hotel was quiet and clean. One area of tile grout in the bathroom shower needed a good cleaning. It may not have been sealed properly. That was the only issue I saw where cleanliness was concerned. I brought it to the manager's attention at check out and he was very appreciative for the information. The beds were really comfy, but could have used a thicker blanket. For the price I paid for the room, I thought the "little things", such as toiletries, coffee, etc. seemed to be on the cheap end. The complimentary breakfast was good and well stocked with something for everyone. Overall, this is a nice place for a short stay!
The room and staff were lovely. Best Western is always a good choice if you're not familiar with the area, and we appreciated how quickly we were checked in. Even though we were there for a wedding, there were several brochures available in the lobby about attractions in the area. Overall good value.
Great friendly staff, clean rooms and amenities. They had a barbeque pit we noticed on the hotel pictures, so we chilled and grilled on the deck. Very nice! Only minor problems were: pillows were not as good as the rest of the room. A/C was kicking, regrigerator was COLD! Bed was very comfortable. The first day, we had to get the room keys reactivated, the second day we were packing to leave and it happened again, at least an hour before check out time! The last minor complaint was that the pool needed to be skimmed. It is a very small pool and would only take a few minutes to do so.
Our room was fine, had all the amenities we needed for a 3 day weekend. The remodel of the bathroom is pretty nice, water pressure good. The refrigerator didn't have a freezer but almost froze items anyway. If you put the A/C on cold it will be an icebox so beware!
best service for the short notice stay; friendly service and maintenance crew. I had to make short notice stay when I had to stay with my family pet. Not only did this location accomodate me, they accomodated my additional family that came with the short notice.
I drive a truck and have stayed here b4 and will stay here again. Always a good experience at this hotel. Large comfortable rooms. Very clean and everything works. Great place to stop for the night or in town for a few days. I would recommend this hotel to anyone reading this review.
We were having a Family Gathering at Dessert Willow Ranch and stayed at this Inn and Suites, in Bowie, TX. We couldn't have had a superior staff at an inn. So decent, wonderful, and accommodating. Our rooms were perfect and the bed was somewhat firm for me yet general we would do a reversal.
Nice comfortable, clean, quiet room with closeby parking. Good breakfast provided, except eggs were cold. Didn't go in the pool but noticed other folks with kids were. It looked very nice and inviting. No surprises on check in/ out. We went by before dinner and checked in and turned on the a/c and turned on two air filters we took with us to get rid of any 'cleaning product' odors which bother us. That worked out nicely; no problem.
Aside from the title of my review, the staff really didn't care and offered no real solution to the cleanliness or smell. They didn't even acknowledge our complaint about the heat. It was over 100 degrees this past weekend, and we could not get our room to cool down until around 2 in the morning both nights we were there.
I go for augmented timeframes and sometimes compose audits when I go over lodgings that are incredible quality. This is my first visit here and the general involvement with the staff the cleanliness and the costs was exceptionally positive.
I've usually had good luck with lodging when traveling. Not this time. The shower literally had some goo dripping down the side of the wall. The scrum was so thick around the edge , it was disgusting. I took pictures to pass along to the corporate office when I get home.
My wife and I stopped here for a room without a reservation. The staff were all very nice! Since they weren't busy they upgraded our room to a king hot tub room for the regular king price!!! Very clean! Great deal, great price! Nice pool! Very nice continental breakfast!
Great lodging near everything. The staff was benevolent. Our room was spotless and had sufficient housing. My little girl for got her watch in the room when we looked at. When we returned house keeping had it put aside for her. Will stay here once more.
Nice clean room with all the usual facilities. TV, fridge, micro. Check in lady was nice and helpful. We like Cracker Barrel for eating so had to take car to cross road as its on the otherside of a busy dual carridgeway. However there were other restaurants walkable from the motel. There was a pool which we didn't use but looked clean and free wi-Fi. Breakfast was the usual selection of items which were fine for us. Overall a pleasant overnight stay.
Overall this hotel was clean and convenient to the interstate. It was quiet. I would stay here again if traveling thru this area overnight. There are several restaurNts and places to eat within walking distance. Denny's restaurant was great and the people there were very friendly.
My better half and I stayed at the solace hotel on our trip from our Florida home. The staff was to a great degree welcoming and recommended that we store our two bikes in their ability domain. The hotel has an astounding restaurant which was an extra notwithstanding. We asked for fish courses and my loved one appreciated the carmelized green tomatoes hors d'oeuvre. We will be back!
We were just looking for a place to spend the night before we finished our trip home. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but also wanted a place to rest comfortably. This place fit the bill. We enjoyed the friendly staff and clean, updated room. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. It was a great value compared to other hotels in the area.
Great place to stay, breakfast was nice and convenient as well as the location. Clean atmosphere and I would stay here again. Maybe even next year if we go to the same car show that was located in downtown Cullmann.
Was just passing through for a place to rest my head. Only available room for my family of 4 was a king smoking with a couch.. Not a pull out either. The bed spread had a cigarette burn but everything in the room seemed to be clean. It was an average no thrill kinda place. The hotel staff was very pleasant to deal with though, super friendly.
This hotel is hands down the best my group of 15 and I have found! We were so pleased with our stay! The rooms were super clean ( we even arrived early which rushed them on clean up) but they were still on top of it! We will all definitely be back every year! We come to Cullman once a year for Rock the South and this hotel is extremely close and so nice compared to my last 3 years experiences!
Not ever having stayed in Alabama before, I didn't know what to expect. We came here for a Pilgrimage to the Blessed Sacrament Shrine in Hanceville, but I wanted to stay somewhere with more dining options etc. I didn't know this was a MOTEL, and was a little surprised when we pulled up. I don't typically like motels as they are usually not as well cared for, loud, and frankly scary. Not this one. Our room was very quite and while the price was probably more than some of the other places, the cleaning staff does a good job, and rooms were up to date. The front desk was not very attentive, we had to wait for someone each time we went to the office. The breakfast buffet was very diverse with a lot of different options, not the greatest, but hey, it's free. Beds were comfortable as were the pillows. They also have a mini fridge and microwave in the room which was convenient. Negatives: dim lighting, and sundry items, bring your own soap, shampoo, and conditioner if you are fussy. They use the kind that are mounted inside the shower. No lotion was offered.
They have made some updates since my last trip in 2013 however I do not feel the value was there.Staff was nice and called soon after arrival to see if all was ok. I was not going to go into detail with her about what I thought about our room.Rooms need contractors that pay attention to detail. Our ceiling was sort of painted and had a faint animal smell. But it was just for One night. Breakfast was ok, out of some items.
The hotel staff was extremely professional and eager to make my stay as enjoyable as possible, especially when there was an issue with the reservation date. Erica went out of her way to reconcile the problem and get me the much needed rest I was looking for. The room was clean and comfortable. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel except maybe one thing. The housekeeping staff didn't honor the do not disturb sign on the door or the fact that I had a confirmed late check out.Other than thatI would recommend this hotel to anyone in need of a clean friendly place to rest up from a long trip.
We stayed here when we are returning for a wedding. This is one of the most delightful inns we have ever stayed amid our numerous voyages. It is so interesting, room is awesome, the bed is so agreeable, I would not like to receive in return! The bar is extremely sort of you; companions said the nourishment in the eatery was fantastic, we didn't eat there. The administration is fantastic. Confidence at the front work area was fabulous! I profoundly prescribe this inn and want to return!
The room was clean and comfortable- I slept better than I usually do in hotels.I was surprised and concerned that the room doors were on the exterior of the building, but i had no problems and it was quiet.
They gave us a room that looked as if someone was still using it. Dirty. Food in a warm refrigerator, lighter on the dresser, cigars in the dresser. I called down and they sent the girl up to clean. Wow, She never moved a thing. After she left I pulled back the sheets and there was finger nail clippings in the bed. I called down again to be moved to another room. Had to call the manager. Was told an order to not service the room was in place. Finally they gave us another room. What a hassle.
We have stayed here many times and recently they have done some updates. New paint and some decor changes. They do have a handicap device for the pool, which I have never seen before. So if someone is wheelchair bound they can still get into the pool.
They have recently updated the rooms with new decor. Room are clean and they have white comforters. The staff is super friendly. Shopping is close by and easy to get in and out of hotel. They have a BBQ grill in the property, which is a first for me at a hotel.
Very friendly staff. In room for a half hour and the front desk called to ask how everything was and if anything else was needed. How often does that ever happen? Our room was very clean. We pull a trailer and they have a separate parking lot to accommodate this which was very nice. A grassy area to walk our dogs. A very pleasant stay and would stay again.
We stayed for a 2 day concert and were pleasantly surprised. The breakfast was good (although one day the waffle mix had soured and tasted terrible - other guests noticed it too). It was your standard expanded continental breakfast (waffles, eggs, bagels, toast, yogurt, etc). The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom felt clean. The room is updated with duvet type comforters and faux marble in the bathroom area. We enjoyed it so much that we've booked them again for this year's concert.
We should have gone to Mcdonalds next door. Bananas were hid in storage. No muffins. Eggs looked terrible. Yogurt and coffee were good. All rooms faced outside. Something about room scared our dog. She normally loves to stay at motels.
Clean, average outside entrance motel. Comfortable bedding, but noisy, due to direct exterior access. Room facilities are dated. Better accommodations are available in the area at the same, or lower prices.
Just happened to search Trip Advisor and saw that this hotel was well rated and well priced. We really liked it a lot. Quiet. Room was clean and updated. We had a jacuzzi pool in the room which was great after a day on the road. Would certainly come back.
Great, friendly staff. Plenty places to eat in walking distance. Clean room with all the amenities. Would like to see a little more on the breakfast buffet - maybe sausage or bacon? Otherwise, you'll enjoy your stay. Thank you Best Western!!!
During our ten day trip we stayed in three different Best Westerns. Newport TN was very good & Gainesville FL was superior. I expected the same in Cullman AL since it had a rating of 4 on Trip Advisor. The price was the best of the top four hotels rated--$90, but I was not happy. The hotel was old & run down. When I walked in the room I had was unsettled. The curtains & worn sofa were dark brown with a bright turquoise-painted wall. The grout around the bathtub & BR floor were brown-stained & dirty. There were dirty footprints on the bathroom floor & the room had an offensive odor. On the positive side the bed was comfortable, the TV remote had been cleaned & there were two table-top sockets, & we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast.
Overall review was excellent I travel a lot, and would recommend This Hotel and its Staff, and team. I was greeted by the Staff checking in. The young lady at the desk was helpful on current location and what was available. She also addressed my questions and preferences to room and room location. I enjoy cordial people and services you sense others go out their way to make you feel welcome. So I appreciate the initial and ongoing impression I was given during this visit.
We stay here a least once a yr during the Octoberfest and occasionally when traveling to Florida and back. We always find things as they should be at this motel. Spotlessly clean and everything is as new in the room, The breakfast is good and the staff friendly.
We booked a last minute stay the night before my child's track meet at Cullman High School. Our room was clean, the entire staff was pleasant, and breakfast was good! A hotel staff member actually called out room 15 minutes after we checked in, just to check on us and see if there was anything else we needed. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Great place to stay for the night after a long road trip home from vacation...clean, friendly and great quality...will stay at this hotel again when in the area. We also had a service dog and they were very accommodating and no pet fee due to service animal
We were tired and needed a clean, safe, friendly place to stay. After stopping at another hotel that was rated higher, the inside rooms and business atmosphere didn't seem like what we needed. We found this across the street. The manager was very friendly and even called to check and see if everything was OK. The room was very clean and I even noticed that the fan in the bathroom was spotless, usually you see dust that has collected in the vent. The outside rooms contributed to a family atmosphere and I enjoyed seeing families and dogs. The room was very quiet. The Mexican restaurant across the street was great.
On our journey to and from home, it is a midpoint stop and we have come to appreciate our stay here at this Inn. The staff are so friendly and the accommodations more than comfortable and clean. The morning breakfast was excellent and a very nice clean eating area to enjoy the meal.
The hotel has a great location right off Interstate 65. There are a variety of eating establishments in walking distances to the hotel. The rooms are easily accessible to your car parked right out your door. The staff was very accommodating and nice. The morning breakfast is served from 6-9 am and it offered a nice variety of options. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious.
Visiting family in Cullman and wanted my two small dogs with me. We all three loved it. Clean room, friendly staff and great location. Good value for families but wish they would lengthen breakfast cut off to 10:00 am instead of 9:00 am for us tired travelers who like to sleep in.
The desk clerk was very nice in relocating us to a lower floor since I have problems with the stairs and there was no elevator. That is one of the reasons I do not like booking through an agency, I prefer to book directly with a hotel so I can get answers to some of the questions I have but many times when you go to a site you get an agency number. I also prefer motels that do not open directly to the outside and this hotel opens to the outside.
A warm, friendly desk attendant welcomed us to this clean, inviting hotel after a very long work day. Our room was spacious and offered 2 very comfortable queen beds, each with 4 fluffy pillows. The internet was quick and best of all ~ free with the room. A warm shower with a rain head made a relaxing end to the day. A full breakfast featuring warm biscuits with sausage gravy, eggs, cereal, waffles, fruit, juice, pastries, and coffee got our next day off to a good start. A great reward to travel.
Our family went to Northwest and stayed at this hotel. I am a manager at a hotel myself and I have to the front desk clerk at check in was very helpful and professional. The rooms was very nice and comfortable. We will return.
35 years ago we stayed in Cullman , this was a reunion trip we wanted to see the town and all of the historic sites. Our stay at the Best Western was the highlight of the entire visit. Everything from the room, staff, were the best . We would recommend this motel chain to all of our many friends.
My Husband and I arrived late at night after 3 hours of flight delays and was checked in quickly with no hassle's. Room was Clean, good sized with a comfortable bed and the Bathroom was good. I will say thanks to everybody in your hotel, we will return and recommend you to our friends.
ok i dont have 200 words to say about this , it was great serves .the room was clean the internet was great ,liked the bed .what more can i say . i dont think you sould have to wright 200 words to tell how great something was.
This hotel is extremely outdated. Beds were comfortable and clean but everything else was worn badly and the floors were dirty. The staff was friendly enough but seemed to have difficulty understanding. Right off the exit, easy to find and many near by business. There were also other hotels nearby which is what I would suggest you use.
We got here very late, about 11:30 pm. Check in was super easy. Our room was clean and comfy. Our family was pleased. Loved that a gas station and the waffle house were within walking distance. All in all not the best place I've stayed but when we go back to Cullman we will stay here again.
Exited off I-65 after a long day of driving north from Florida. Best Western hotels are often a first choice. This one did not disappoint us. Building is older, but the interior rooms are nicely updated, and clean. Bed was comfortable.
Wooow! I've never been to a hotel that is as nice as this. This is a home away from home hotel. Their front desk staffs are very helpful and are doing a very good job, they ansewrs to all the question i asked them. Talking about the environment, the environment is so neat with a very nice car park. The room was very accommodating with a very big bathroom. I enjoyed what is called a professional services from them with a very affordable price. I will recommend then to friends and Family.
All the staff were extremely nice. The front desk allowed us to stay on a day to day basis. We had an emergency and had to hospitalize my brother in law. Ending up staying 5 nights instead of one. While all the others were at the hospital I, a female, was alone at the hotel and never was in fear. No one loitering around and very quiet. Breakfast was fresh each day which was important to us before all headed to the hospital. Good location with gas and many restaurants within close proximity. Have nothing but positive things to say.
After a long drive from Florida and getting in traffic in Birmingham, it was a nice area to stop for the night. Comfortable bed, clean, and a good breakfast. Area was quiet and many restaurants close by.
Hotel was clean, and employee's friendly and helpful. breakfast was OK with southern menu, but there were options. I will definitely come back when I am in Cullman again. It had been redecorated since my last visit. A lot of workman were staying there also.
We have a Florida vacation home and travel I-65 several times a year. This was our second stay at Fairwinds. Last year it was in need of an update and just okay. The update is complete and they did a great job. Everything inside our room was new from the beds to the furnace/air. I really liked the furnace/air you can set the temperature you want just like in your own home. No waking up either freezing or over heated hours after you went to sleep. Trailer parking is available in a lot right before you reach the hotel. There are lots of variety for dining very close to the hotel.
They are always updating and always willing to help with anything we need. Best of all, they take our doggie. This place is always filled, so make a reservation. The price is reasonable, but I wouldn't call it a bargain. We stay here several times a year.
My wife and I stayed at the Fairwinds Inn botching traveling to and from our stay in Florida. It is Avery nice motel. It has a good breakfast and knowledgeable staff. We will probably stay there again if circumstances warrant it
Rooms seemed clean. I used the rewards redemption thing. The front desk staff was great. Toilet didn't work so great, but as far as the desk crew, couldn't have been much better. How many more characters do I have to write to reach my minimum 200?
Best Westerns are always clean and in good repair. No surprises. This one was the same. We want to know that it will be a "good stay" and it was. Good food, wonderful bed, spacious, clean carpet. Thanks, Best Western.
Stopped here on our way home from vacation. Room was clean & well equipped. After we got into the room, Kristy, the person on duty, phoned to ask if everything was alright with the room. We were impressed with her follow up. We all slept like babies in the nice, comfy, dark & quiet room. Would give this 5 stars if it had a bar and restaurant! The breakfast offerings were impressive!
Perfect hotel to get a good night rest and an excellent breakfast to continue in one'a journey. Location is perfect from the main interstate 65. A good stay to venture from here to a lot of local attractions. The Ave Maria Grotto is only miles from here, and a must visit.
As Best Westerns go, this one provided all the amenities that I needed as well as clean rooms and linens. I did not feel like this was some posh place that I would be worried about messing up. I was very comfortable with the accommodations.
Great location, right off the interstate. The room had a fresh smell, front desk person was very nice. Breakfast was better than we expected. Good selection. There was a person there who kept everything clean and the items stocked. For the price this is one of the better hotels that we've stayed at.
Check in and out was the best experience of the stay. The service was very good. The bed and pillows were fairly comfortable. The carpet looked a bit soiled and the bathroom shower grout could have been cleaner; clock did not work; the non-smoking room smelled like smoke. Overall, I did not think it was worth the price paid, but it was comfortable enough for a short stay.
This is an exterior-corridor property located just east off Exit 310 on I-65 about halfway between Huntsville and Birmingham. The rooms are reasonably up-to-date and contain all the usual mid-level amenities you would expect. No fitness center or pool and a very small breakfast room. Our room had some problems such as non-functioning lamps and a slow draining sink but other than that the place was fine. This is not a great place but there is nothing about it that should make you shy away from spending a night here.
This was an older hotel, with exterior entrances to the rooms. But it was clean, and the people working at the front desk were very nice. The breakfast wasn't much but we were able to make a waffle for our little one, which was nice. I would stay again if we needed to.
When I research a hotel/motel the factors that are considered are; Location, rate structure, cleanliness ,and quiet. Found this Best Western provides the best balance of those priorities. It is located very close to Interstate 65 exit 310 and there are several gas stations and restaurants including my personal favorite, Cracker Barrel.
Our reserved 2 rooms were not held even though we called to say we would be arriving late. When we arrived there was only 1 room and we were told the door was jammed and we would have to crawl through the window to get in. We made reservations far in advance because we knew rooms would be booked on this particular weekend. We had to drive on and arrived home at 3:00am. This review will probably not appear on their site, but we would not recommend this or any other Best Western.
Convenient to Interstate 65. The staff was very good, the front desk man PJ in particular. Breakfast was good and internet service strong. Room was plain but clean and comfortable. Only complaint is that the bath room fan was very loud.
Friendly, Clean, Price is right. We arrived Late and left early. Ate in the hotel. Breakfast food was OK, Fresh fruit and sweets are great. Eggs, and meats are eatable at best. Nothing more to say. We travel a lot and we like Best Western the best.
Stayed here on way to our recent trip to the Florida Panhandle, due to positive TripAdvisor reviews. Was very pleased with everything - cleanliness, comfort, service - a great value. So pleased in fact, we reserved rooms for us and our separately-roomed grown children/grandchildren for the return trip home. Don't hesitate to stay here - great value, no complaints. Especially good for those travelling with their 4-legged friends - pet friendly hotel that doesn't gouge you for bringing your dogs. They were making room updates and painting exterior while we were there. Will return again!
I will never stay at this hotel again. Very dirty, mold in the room, running toilet and nats everywhere. BAD, VERY BAD. Dirty carpet smell was terrible. Would not recommend to stay at the Cullman Al best western. Very dissatisfied.
This place was a very reasonable price and had a fridge , microwave, coffee maker( see my review on Disney arts and animation ). Bathroom was very nice with good water pressure and separate from sink and mirror. Everything looked and smelled clean.Only complaints are the light above the sink was very dim making shaving difficult. The one big complaint is the fact that free breakfast is from 6-9 am.All hotels should listen. When we travel , we do not want to get up early and eat before 9 am. We are sleeping in.Dont most people on vacation??? Have breakfast as least till 10:30 like McDonald's use too.Dont know how breakfast was here because we didn't get up till 8:30 this morning after a long day if driving from Daytona beach yesterday!!!!!!
This is a great stop over, a bit hard to get out on the main road when leaving but good place to spend the night. Their truck/trailer parking is difficult for those with a mobility issue to access because it has no steps or ramp for foot entry. Breakfast consisted of only egg patties, biscuits and gravy other tha the pastries. Rooms are clean and TV is okay.
Don't stay at the Best Western Hotel in Cullman Alabama, worst breakfast bar I have ever seen, rundown building needs many updates, tv remotes they say are "green for the environment" didn't work. Outside doors of the rooms looked like kids painted them with their fingers.
Great place to relax and enjoy a visit with family. with many area sites to visit, this is the most central place and surrounding conveniences make it idea. Felt safe and secure which is a plus in today's world.
This is an older hotel with some cosmetic issues. It was the least expensive (acceptable) available in the area when I made plans. We were there for a cross country meet held about twenty miles away and only required a place to sleep for the night. It was clean and comfortable, but just a bit old. I was satisfied with the accommodations for the price.
The review for the room was very good. I would rate it average. The room smelled of dog. The bathroom door was hard to close due the top hinge on the door was not properly atttached. I was just not impressed with the room.
