Best Western Clare Hotel

Terrible. No vending machine working so no water to drink the whole night. Guests in multiple rooms yelling, talking, slamming doors all night long until early morning. Staff did not care thats other guests were being loud. Would not go back

I wish I was able to give it 4.5 stars instead of a whole number. The hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet (set back considerably from the roads), had plenty of counter space in the room, and had free parking and a good free breakfast (eggs, meat, waffles, toast, pre-packaged muffins, instant oatmeal, a few cold cereals, yogurt, and fresh fruit). I appreciated the coffee available all day, and the availability of a microwave and eating implements in the breakfast area. It made it easy for my husband and me to buy our dinner at the local grocery store and eat it at the hotel. The shower had wall-mounted body gel, shampoo, and conditioner. Of the three, the body gel and shampoo were empty when we checked in. The fitness room is minimal.

Our family had reserved several rooms because of a wedding we were attending. We were told the hotel was expecting us. We reserved our rooms months in advance. On the day of arrival, we were all told we could not check in early. The wedding started at 3 pm. Check in time was 3 pm. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly desk person. She asked if I was checking in. I said I would like to, if possible. After I told her my name, she refused to let me check in early. She said a couple of rooms in our group wouldn't be ready yet. I only wanted one room. I understand why hotels have that policy. However, there NO housekeeping carts anywhere. The only guests there, were our family members who had come a day earlier. A group of us had to get ready for the wedding in my sister's room, because she had arrived the day earlier. Finally, when my elderly aunts and uncle arrived, she let them check in before 3. My husband happened to overhear their conversation and asked if we could also check in. Again we were treated rudely and told we should be charged $50 ,per person extra for checking in early. Several other family members had to leave the venue between the wedding ceremony and the reception, in order to check in. We have no idea why this happened. The girl was absolutely going to let me check in early until she asked my name. The rooms were all cleaned for the day. Nobody else was there.

It was clean. No top sheet on beds. TV remote batteries dead. Reserved room months in advance for a nearby wedding. Reserved price went from $129 to $179 for Saturday night, a few weeks before my stay. Multiple family/friends booked rooms. Were told via phone, $100 for early check in (before 3pm) although front desk was happy to check others in before 3. Someone obviously upset staff so all guests from said party were treated very curtly.

Friendly staff clean rooms overall hotel was extremely clean close to near by restaurants and shops. Hotel was set off from the main road which made the noise from road traffic less we really didnt notice any traffic noise its located behind a few restaurants the entrance was a little tricky to find but nothing major. Overall a great place to stay !

I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are friendly and hard working (multitasking), and the room is quiet, clean, and comfortable. The location is set back away from the street and we saw deer in the field in back. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices, and the dining area had ample space.

Two little issues that staff took care of Very quickly. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Their breakfast was scrambled eggs and sausage, pancakes, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels and muffins The hotel is very close to restaurants and expressways.

Have stayed at this property 4 times in the last 4 years 1-2 weeks at time. It took 2 years to get the washer and dryer working. (yes reported it more than once.) Housekeeping was not up to standards. Asked twice on this stay to have our room cleaned. We put the sign-out and was advised even if we put the sign out, we would have to ask for it to be done. Once they brought us towels left on the bathroom sink and left. Did nothing else. I just did not feel this was a good hotel for us on this trip. I work for BWH Headquarters and if this did not make me happy I can only image what other guest thought and were afraid to say anything and will just go elsewhere next time maybe, who knows. This was kind of sad, and unexpected.

Very new and clean Had an issue with the fridge being plugged in but staff allowed us to move rooms to accommodate our need for a cold fridge for breast milk

While the room was clean, the bed pillows were thrown on the chair and the pillow cases were laid to the side when we checked in. Even though we were down well before the closing of the breakfast, the "breakfast" consisted of scrambled eggs, toast, and cereal. The waffle mix was empty.

This Hotel was Beyond Our Exceptions~ The Best Night's Rest Ever! The Cleanliness of this Hotel was perfect from Our Room~Hallways~Breakfast Area!! A reasonable price for a very clean hotel. They don't enter your room unless you specifically ask but we had no trouble getting clean towels every day. The breakfast was good, coffee good 24/7, and ice machine worked. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Close to Clare and right next to 127. Gave it a 4 because the Internet kept stopping and we had to login even without leaving the premises.

My husband and I stayed for five days while visiting a family member. EXCELLENT customer service. I had a hiccup with my reservation and Michael worked with me while I got it straightened out. The front desk accommodated all of my needs. Mary gave me lots of names of places to visit in Clare. Our room was cozy and clean!! We were lucky enough to see deer running through the trees. The breakfast was a little lacking and I wish the washer and ice machine weren't broken but the staff made up for all of that. I will be definitely be using this hotel every time I visit.

The room was very nice, however, I would suggest maybe getting paper rugs for in front of shower. We were in a handicap accessible room, and I felt the shower floor and bathroom floor is very slippery when wet.

Regularly travel for work and stay in crappy hotels, this particular hotel was very pleasant, comfortable, and a home away from home. Thank you Best Western Team! Will definitely stay there next time I'm in that part of Michigan again!

This hotel was very clean and up to date on decor. Very friendly and helpful staff. They also had a very good breakfast selection and it was good. I would recommend this hotel very highly. Close to alot of resturants.

The hotel is clean and quiet, however with no pool the price is a bit high. As for breakfast, you are better off walking to the Big Boy next door. Breakfast was NOT a quality for this hotel. The biscuits could be used as disc in a discus throwing contest. That or rock throwing. Sausage gravy and eggs were cold. Only a few pieces of bread, and items were not refilled in a timely manner. The beds were very hard

The room was very nice, especially the KIng. Everything was well supplied in the room and clean and cozy actually. Didn't get to try the breakfast - sleeping in was a priority. Very friendly staff and in a quiet section of town.

we requested an accessible room but was not assigned one because the accessible rooms are also the only pet friendly rooms and pets apparently take priority., Fortunately, the evening receptionist was able to make it happen, and we were reassigned to an accessible room. While there were grab bars by the commode, "Hot breakfast" consisted of make your own waffle. Room was fair for cleanliness. Disappointing stay.

Afternoon receptionist was rude on check in. Put us in an unclean room. Beds never made up even after returning 5 hrs. later. All we were given was "sorry! Moving in the night with a person with health issues and a walker was difficult and stressful. Way too much money for poor service.

The young man that checked us in was incredible. He went above and beyond. The best check in clerk I have ever had the pleasure to meet. We need more young people like him. Breakfast was good, with a nice selection. Room was quiet and clean,

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and more than helpful. The breakfast was good with several options. They do not have a pool but they have a nice gazebo with a firepit that we enjoyed both nights of our stay (without a fire). Pets are welcome but there were no pet smells or stains. We were gathered for a funeral and had four rooms, no one had problems with hot water as reported in other reviews. We all agreed we would happily return to Best Western of Clare and we are grateful to the staff for their kindness!!

There was no hot water. Not even room temperature. It was ice cold. One guest said she couldn't even wash her face it was so cold. I called everyday for a week to discuss it with a manager (Sarah) and was told I would be called. Never got a call. When I was finally able to speak with her, she offered a 10% discount and nothing more. I still ended up paying over $140 for a one night stay that I had to leave dirty because I couldn't even shower. Find another hotel!!
