Very friendly and helpful staff! Great location and other amenities very close. Two restaurants are within walking distance. Well lit parking lot feels very safe for late night arrivals. Older but well maintained property. I would recommend.
I am giving this hotel a 4 just because I really liked my room. The location is great. There is an Ihop and a Chilis within walking distance. However we did have a few issues. The curtains in the room needed some repair. The TV kept buffering. The biggest issue was breakfast started at 6:30am however the breakfast person did not show up until 7:30 and the front desk person did not even notice. A guest complained about having no breakfast available. This person did nothing to make sure guests had at least something or help the other staff member get ready.
Facilities were VERY clean. Staff was SO helpful and kind. If given the opportunity I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was good, the ladies in charge of the breakfast area were so nice, kept the place clean and spotless! Honestly, no complaints! Thanks so much for the nice visit!
Very friendly staff. Room was very clean. The bathroom was clean. The pool is open 24/7. The breakfast was eggs, sausage, waffles not bad for a continental breakfast. Honestly would stay here again. If you stay on the far end of the hotel it takes a minute for the water to get hot.
Such a friendly staff to welcome us and our pets. Good location for us to enjoy centennial park, the royal gorge and fun restaurants. Would definitely stay here again. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Canon city is a great place to visit. Will try the skyline drive next time, it was highly recommended.
The manager and everyone at this hotel were very sweet, very helpful, and everything at the hotel was great! The hotel was in a great spot as well, close to everything and within walking distance of restaurants. As Bullrider, the hot tub was wonderful
Great hotel in a convenient location. Great staff, clean rooms and property grounds. The breakfast is amazing always fresh eggs, bacon or sausage along with fresh fruit cereal and hot coffee. And did I mention they have waffles. Mmmmmmmmm my personal favorite.
First up, very, very clean hotel, well maintained. Everything was top notch. What i did want to say was we had a bit of a problem checking in on time because rooms weren't ready as they were down a few housekeepers. Ended up having to wait an hour to get in, not a big deal we went and had dinner. What I was worried about was the room would not be cleaned well as they were rushing to get folks in their rooms. Nope, room was perfect. Those two housekeepers were knocking it out of the park. Mr. Manager you need to take care of those ladies.
Do not stay in the east end of building! Hot water takes over 20 minutes to get to room! What a waste of water! We planned ahead for when we woke up and turned on the hot water and relaxed. Piss poor planning building this section. Other wise the room was OK.
CLEAN and lovely room! We travel with our 30lb border collie and sometimes "pet rooms" can be a bit fragrant. Our room was lovely and cool on a hot day with crisp white linens and a sparkling bathroom. Enjoyed the CLEAN pool and hot tub, as well as tasty breakfast. All Good. Will look forward to staying here every time we travel through Canon City.
Everything was just okay-- not the worst experience at a hotel but certainly not the best. The bed was hard and not very comfortable. The shower setting was rough-- like a powerful hose. (I'm not sure if I could have adjusted it. I tried, but didn't have any luck.) I accidentally dropped a pill (a medication of mine) on the floor. It went a little beneath the night stand. When I went to fish it out, I noticed it had touched something else. I pulled everything out and that "something else" was some dried ramen noodles. Gross! There was also a leftover clothing item from someone else behind the sofa chair, which we discovered after making sure we weren't leaving anything behind while packing up. The cost of one night was about $165 which is a lot for such a mediocre experience. The staff was friendly, so no complaints there, but they really ought to pay attention to room quality and cleanliness.
The room and facility for the area I think was fairly nice. Breakfast was fairly good staff was friendly and helpful
Breakfast not served until 630, super expired snacks in the vending machine. The bed was OK, and the room was clean
Very friendly and helpful would stay here again. I would tell friends to stay here very comfortable .
Absolutely the best clean over all felt like home. We loved it and the staff was beyond great. Thank you.
We had to attend a funeral and booked 2 rooms. Front desk staff and general manager were very friendly and accommodating under this unfortunate circumstance. All of the staff was very helpful. Hotel is clean, breakfast is adequate and parking is easy.
Smelly, dirty, damaged outlets to the point we couldn't charge our phones nor could I work. Internet was spotty at best as well as the TV, pool was closed, no effort to let us know prior to check in so I couldn't even cancel and go somewhere else. Very disappointing, staff member was sweet but couldn't do anything to discount cost. I'll find somewhere else next time around.
Room was clean, bed very comfortable, refrigerator and microwave in room. Overall building was clean and well-kept.
Nice Best Western. Everyone was welcoming and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great…we appreciated that they served real eggs. Would recommend
Nothing at this hotel works. No pool, no sauna and no hot tub. This hotel is a motel 6 with a best Western sign in front. Some of the staff were very polite, but one desk clerk was extremely rude and blocked my car in. Because of this experience I doubt it if I ever stay at any best Western again.
Tried to hide out during Spring storm and quit smoking cigarettes! Perfect for my needs and will start staying at best westerns bc their pool/saunas are amazing. Everything was clean and staff was extremely helpful and friendly
Nice comfortable hotel, reasonably priced down in the Canyon City area, room was clean and comfortable with great amenities, plenty of parking available even for large RVs or trucks, staff was very polite and accommodating
Very comfortable room and bed, great water pressure and temperature, breakfast was fantastic. Staff extremely helpful and nice. Let us check in early. Will definitely look at staying at Best Western in the future.
Great location. We were visiting and if the sites in the area. Royal Gorge, Colorado prison museum, nearby Quincy's steak house. Too many to mention Hotel has a really nice enclosed pool & sauna area. We've stayed here before and will again - That's my best review
Half of the television channels were not available (no local channels plus more). Problem was not only in my room but the breakfast area and gym as well. The pool was not heated (very cold) and the whirlpool tub was not operational. Over the two days that I stayed here, I spoke to several people at the reception desk including the manager. I received a different explanation or even denial that these problems even existed. Breakfast consisted of overcooked institutional eggs and sausage or packaged pastries that you would find in a vending machine. The room itself was fine.
Staff is rude when you check in. They made comments to each family with young children to keep them quiet. I wonder if the same comments are made to young couple checking in or older folks who turn up music and tv?? Things in our room didn't work and when we reported it they did NOTHING about it. The response was hmmm “that's weird.” Not great service. Lots of other hotels around. Stay somewhere else.
Extremely nice property and plenty of amenities would recommend if in the area. Great, friendly staff and stay was wonderful. Restaurants adjacent to the property and plenty of attractions in the area.
We enjoyed the room very much. We stayed in room 200, which has a king-sized bed with a sink, couch, refrigerator, and coffee machine. I felt the room was clean. We were told that cleaning would be upon request, which suited us just fine. The breakfast hostess, Mary J. was amazing! She was congenial, helpful, and very attentive. The problem I had with the breakfast was due to the owner, apparently. When I asked why the waffles were strawberry, and if they had regular batter, I was told that they did not. The owner apparently, does not understand that many people are allergic to strawberries. The fried eggs were rubbery, but the scrambled were fine.
I have to be fair; when I stayed here 8 years ago, the hotel had a bug problem. As such, I was absolutely hesitant to stay here again, but due to availability, I determined that this was the best option. I sighed, and booked the room. The hotel has really upped its game in most ways. The room felt newer and upgraded, and undoubtedly cleaner. And not a bug to be seen! This is a value hotel, and as such, it isn't as luxurious as many other places, but for the place and the price, it's a solid choice. The breakfast wasn't up to last time, but other than that, a solidly improved experience. Props, folks.
The Best Western in Canon City was adequate for my one-night stay while I was on a vacation road trip through Colorado and the Four Corners Region. The front desk employee was polite and professional and Check in was quick and efficient. My King Room was very clean and well attended. The bed was comfortable and well made. This hotel is convenient to U. S. Highway 50, but I heard little or no road noise. However, the walls are very thin, and I did hear the guest in the adjacent room and in the hallway moving around and having normal conversations. There is plenty of parking in a well-lit lot. There is an IHOP and Chili's restaurant adjacent to the Hotel. The Chili's proved to be a good choice. The hotel features a basic breakfast. During my visit there were a couple of large groups in the breakfast area which resulted in overcrowding. The attendant tried hard to keep the area clean and stocked but they were really fighting a loosing battle. A couple of my traveling companions opted for breakfast at the Nearby IHOP, which according to them was not a good choice. I chose only to grab a muffin and coffee. I am not usually a fan of hotel coffee, but the coffee here was rather good. Overall, this hotel met my basic requirements. It was reasonably priced. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. I enjoyed a good night's sleep and will consider this hotel again if I am in the area.
they had my room ready and directed me to everything I needed for may stay told me what time the resterrants closed in the area really were on top of what was going on for the 4th of jay in the area how far it was to the places I was going and where to try to park
The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well-organized. I had one of the best night's sleep ever here. Not sure what brand mattress they have but it was wonderful. Breakfast was lacking but a very large group of people hit the breakfast buffet before I got there, and I believe the attendant was struggling to keep up with demand. I believe another day would have been a different experience.
It was great to go here especially after a bad experience the night before somewhere else. It was really good, very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious with all the expected amenities. Check in was great and helpful. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was good. The staff at reception were friendly and they all seemed genuinely pleased to work there and spoke well of their manager. The gardens are really lovely and these were apparently designed by the manager. There were good choices of food at breakfast and Dorothy was great. There was plenty of parking. The only very small negatives were that the elevator was a little grubby and something that is not their fault but the location was a bit far out of town - we certainly had to drive to restaurants and the downtown area but this wasn't a big problem.
To expensive for what you get. Requests for a ground floor as my wife has limited mobility and was denied. Breakfast was very limited as far as selection. Would not clean room unless you requested it.
We use this property as a gateway to all of the activities in the area and in to the mountains The Royal Gorge is close. The Prison Museum is a very interesting place and there lots more. Nice rooms. Nice pool, Nice breakfast. We have stayed several times and will again.
Cold noisy linen quality lacking. Pool cool i didnt get much sleep due to noisy lobby the blanket provided is two sheets not very warm i couldnt get the room to warm up at all. I had my child with me couldnt leave room.
The Good: helpful and friendly front desk lady. Extremely clean rooms and swimming pool is big enough to get a little exercise (if your just an OK swimmer). Chilies and ihop within walking distance. Like right next to the hotel. The bad: Grumpy breakfast man who sets up for breakfast. He may have had a bad morning?????? Breakfast was OK (eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, cereal, juice, yogurt coffee etc.)
Beautiful area, close to Colo Spring and Florence. Nice, clean, affordable, comfy beds. Nice offering for breakfast and the breakfast staff person was super friendly. Front desk team was always polite and responsive. Would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.
We were traveling across country and this was the Most Comfortable stay of all!!! Beautiful room…Very clean…Great Coffee…Amazing Bed… Extremely Quiet… Altogether a time of refreshment, our only negative was we could only stay one night due to our schedule!!
Check in was very pleasant. The gentleman at the front desk was very engaging . The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was excellent. Everything was in good repair. Breakfast was same old, but good. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
We stay at Best Western in Canon City for it's proximity to family and to the scenic areas such as the Royal Gorge and the Arkansas River. We enjoy the trails in the area also. The hotel room was exceptionally clean, the bed comfortable and the staff very kind and professional. We also eat the free breakfast which was good.
Nice place to stay. The bed was terrible and very hard. But other than that very clean rooms. Very good breakfast and staff was very friendly. Also close to several restaurants, and walking distance to several. They have a great landscape area outside.
Came in to round for one night with my husband to attend a friend's wedding in Florence. Quick and easy check in, quiet throughout the night, close to shops and places to eat, easy to find, clean and comfortable!!!
I chose this hotel due to its proximity to the Royal Gorge Railway Depot. It is also next to a Chili's and IHOP (the latter if you want more breakfast than the free breakfast provided). There is still some renovation going on in front of the hotel but the rooms and other interior spaces seem to be complete. Front desk staff is smiling and helpful and are able to provide new towels rather than sending a housekeeper to the room. The AC worked well and the room was very nice. I would stay here again.
Staff at Canon City were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have time to enjoy, but the fitness center and pool area looked great. Would stay here again. Location was centrally located and in a safe area.
We enjoyed our stay here. The motel is outside the main part of town but has two restaurants within walking distance. The pool and hot tub were great. The room was clean and comfortable. One of the front desk guys was outstanding. Overall, we had a very good experience.
We arrived late 08/31/22, I called ahead of time to confirm my reservation and arriving after checkin. The front desk representative was courteous and said to drive safely, the room would be held all night if needed. The non-smoking Queen room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we like. Breakfast was great during our two day stay. Dottie kept the food coming throughout the breakfast serving time. Also, for coffee lovers - it is available 24 hours!
Super easy overnight stay! We needed a clean and quiet place to stay so we could get up early for the Royal Gorge train ride! The Best Westen Canon City fit the bill. I was in a good location and reasonably priced.
Loud construction type noises throughout the night I would have been better off sleeping in my car. I've been super loyal up to this point even before it was a best western. I will consider other locations next trip
The hotel was easy to access. It was clean. Yes, I would recommend this establishment. It is not a 5 star hotel but it is a good option in the area. The cleaning staff was great. They were helpful and friendly. With a 5-star rating I expect a lot. I expect to be greeted as we walk into the establishment. That did not happen most of the time. I expect the front desk staff to have knowledge of the area. It is important to me with a 5-star rating to have basic knowledge of the area and be able to direct us or have a map of the typical tourist areas available. I expect the outside doors to have the ability to be locked for basic safety reasons. The breakfast was the usual fare. The woman working in the breakfast area went above and beyond. She was friendly, efficient and helpful. She was swamped the first morning we were there. She handled a large group with a smile and efficiency. BTW the breakfast area is rather small. Yes, I would recommend this establishment but don't expect 5 star front desk treatment.
Stayed 5 nights and enjoyed the entire stay. Our family has been coming back to this hotel for years and we have never been disappointed. Anis (owner) is doing an amazing job with the upgrades (love the new carpet!). Kirtricia, Chris, Shamene, Kelly, Jeremy, Clint and Dotty are the best! You all made our stay that much better!
Very great staff clean rooms good breakfast , I have stayed here before usually several days it is close to everything and has two restaurants in walking distance. beautiful landscaping and out door pavilion with fire pit.
We were in town visiting some family. A member of my family made the reservation for us and intended to pay for it, but when we arrived we were told that we had to physically provide a credit card, and that we were not able to use the card information on the reservation because it didn't match the name that was on the reservation, which was mine. The room itself was fairly clean, but the bathtub in the bathroom was gross, and the sink was backing up and in serious need of some drain cleaner. The morning after we arrived, there was someone working on the roof, getting after it with a nail gun at about 7:15AM, which definitely did not make for a relaxing wake up. We weren't warned of this when we checked in. Overall, not satisfied. Spend the extra $50/night and go next door to the Holiday Inn.
This location is nearby anything you want - attractions, restaurants, groceries, sightseeing, rafting, off-road driving, and more. If you like Mexican or Cajun food, you can find it in the strip mall across the street.
This was our first trip to CO as a family, I last visited as a child. We wanted to relax and enjoy the climate away from hot, humid TX. We decided Canon City looked like a great place to be based while we explored the surrounding area. It was! We chose this hotel based on reviews and locations and it didn't disappoint. The location is perfect as you enter Canon City. Everything in Canon City is just down the road from there, 5 min drive. There is an IHOP & Chili's next door that you can walk to. Lots of food choices in the town itself. The hotel also has a pool and hot tub which we wanted for the kids to swim & us adults to relax after a long day hiking etc. Chris checked us in and he was wonderful. Very polite, such a sweet guy! if we needed anything he got it done immediately. Their free breakfast was also perfect for a family of 4 to start a busy day. Theresa was so sweet and made sure everything stayed stocked up. It was busy at the hotel so she did a great job! The room we had, 123, was great. Double queen so works great for our family of 4. Clean etc. The only complaint was that the electrical plug sockets needed some TLC as they didn't work very well/were loose and we had to get creative with charging all our electronics. The pillows we're great, had a fridge and micro plus the shower was hot and powerful. The shower is very hot to make sure your kiddos know which way is off when they shower! We will definitely be back here to stay when we return.
From the staff to the rooms, This Best Western is, by far, the Best in Canon City! I've stayed at the others and they are no competition. The beds and pillows are amazing, the rooms are professionally cleaned, the water pressure in the shower is great (with massage/adjustable shower head). Heat and A/C, Micro & Fridge always work perfectly.
We are nursing students and need good rest. The hotel staff made sure we had what we needed. The price is just right at this hotel and the amenities worked out perfectly for us to get good rest and have what we needed to start a very early day of hard work.
Check in/check out was flawless. Was welcomed by a friendly employee and our every need was tended to. Very impressed that the lady that checked me in remembered my name when I walked through the next morning. Very clean, very well maintained...excellence all around. Highly recommend!
The front desk was able to get us into an accessible room, which was so helpful because my husband has mobility issues. The king bed was comfortable, we heard no noise from other guests and the breakfast was great with a very attentive lady in charge.
We arrived after 6pm and the front desk staff stat6ed the room is probably not ready. Hotel is need of some tlc, parking is weird, not the cleanest, and the rate was high for the quality. The bed was absolutely horrible in need of replacement.
Stayed for one night, booked specifically for a hot tub room (there are at least 2 of them). Found that the hotel is putting in new carpeting in all the rooms. Room was really clean, and the hot tub was ready to go with towels set on the edge of the tub. Nice big breakfast area. Breakfast offerings were quite good. Elevator is near the front desk. Since the hotel is pretty long, it can be a long walk down the hall to get to your room.
We rented two rooms and took our grandkids on a little getaway to swim and have some fun. The pool was absolutely filthy and full of sand at the bottom? Our grandkids could not open their eyes and their skin was scrapped from the sand. Dirtiest pool we have ever seen in a hotel!! Clean the pool or have a service do it?
Chris at the front desk made our stay enjoyable. He was so friendly and made us feel at home. The room was nice and clean. Love the outdoor decor. The lights and water display were pleasant and soothing.
This is the only hotel I will stay at while working in this area. This hotel is always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Can always count on a hot fresh breakfast that is freshly prepared and set out every morning for the guests.
We stayed from Friday 12/10-Sunday 12/12 to ride the Santa Express train Saturday night, and we really enjoyed the stay. We had a King room and it was comfortable for myself, my husband, and our four year old son. Pool was open til 10PM which is great since there isn't that much to do in town. Highly chlorinated pool so definitely recommend goggles for your littles. The older woman who serves breakfast had the best customer service! Considering you get a decent breakfast and a pool I felt the cost was fair.
The staff here all make you feel at home. We were in a room on the first floor but after a long night of listening to noise, they moved us to the second floor. Much better. All of the staff act like it's their hotel to the point of asking you every time you see them, if everything is ok. They were all eager to give us advice and directions. The guest laundry was out of service but no big deal. The breakfast was good every morning and they change it up so it's not the same every day. They were all eager to give us advice and directions. This is definitely a place we would highly recommend.
We just needed a place close to the Royal Gorge train and this location fit the bill. Their phones were out of order and we couldn't call ahead to confirm how late the pool and hot tub are available, but the front desk person kept the facility open an extra hour to accommodate us after a late arrival. The property appears to be in a nice neighborhood with good views of the mountains. The bed was firm, but not uncomfortable, and the room was clean.
We enjoyed this hotel. Pool area very nice. Dorothy made every morning at breakfast so fun. Sheamen at night was GREAT with our reservations. Kirtrisha during the day was GREAT! The hotel even has a dry heat spa. It's an older hotel. Needs a little updating, but not bad. It was clean. Everyone works hard at this hotel. Loved the shampoo and lotions.
Chris checked us in and we took elevator to our floor. Elevator door had a bad squeek. It sounded very rusty. Room was comfortable and A/C worked good since it was 101 that day. the next morning was greeted by Dorothy in the kitchen. Boy is she a blast and funny to be around .Dorothy keep the food hot and loaded. She visited with visitors and made them feel welcomed.
Very clean with friendly, helpful staff! Our room was clean and the bed was very comfy. Nice hot breakfast which we haven't had since COVID hit so that was very refreshing!! Pool and hot rub were cvery clean!
This hotel is clean, comfortable and close to everything. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. We stayed two days and enjoyed it very much.I would stay there again we were in the area.
The front desk staff was rude. There was chocolate (I hope chocolate) stain on our bed and wall. The hot water was broken, and we were told that breakfast would take 28 minutes, and that we should go to McDonald's to help them out.
Great hotel, very CLEAN I would stay again!!! You do have to get your own towels each day and breakfast they serve you and lady forgot to make waffles for my kids not a big deal just little aggravating
The hotel is located on the south side of town. Most of the activities are north. For the value offered, I thought it was pricey. The free breakfast was touted as the reason; however, there was not much there. No fruit and no real cream for the Folgers coffee :-(. We actually ended up eating at the ihop next door. The checkin was easy and the person was very helpful.
+ Very good location (near Royal Gorge train and rafting activities) + Adequate parking, had rooms with 2 queen beds for families and simple breakfast - Expensive relative to nearby hotels (check and compare Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn). It had the only the 3 rooms with 2 queen beds that we needed for the families of 4 - Less space in bedrooms - Pool was not open - Did not clean rooms (maybe due to COVID) and few (2) towels per room
We had a single, king bed room for one night. It was quite roomy for two people. It was clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Everything in the room was like new and worked well. It included a microwave, fridge and single cup coffee maker. The fridge doesn't have a freezer which is a bit annoying since we can't freeze our cooler ice packs. The free internet worked well and was easy to connect. The TV was good sized, pedestal mounted on the chest of drawers and worked fine. Note: go to channel 1 for the program guide. There was the usual desk chair that doesn't go high enough (is this a hotel standard?) and desk plus a comfy chair and footstool. I usually complain about only one luggage stand, and that's true here, but there is a small table that works well for a second luggage stand. The hot breakfast was much better than we typically get these days, BUT they had the instant coffee maker that produces (IMO) undrinkable coffee. The room coffee was better. Other than the coffee thing, it was a great stay and the staff people were very nice, especially the super cheerful breakfast lady.
We had a wonderful stay in this gem. the Sauna was a plus. Easy check in and check out. Delicious breakfast. Definitely will stay again when in the area. We went to go visit Desert Reef Hot Springs and the Royal Gorge.
I've never seen a happier staff than the people at the Best Western in Canon City. Hard workers and customer friendly. Can't ask for much more than that. With all the stupid Covid BS going on it's hard to work in customer service and keep everyone happy . . . These guys do.
Nothing fancy but HUGE suite with a large jetted tub in addition to a shower and regular tub. Some rooms are quite a ways from the elevator. Couch, end table. Coffee table, desk & chair. Good WiFi, free breakfast, free parking, convenient location.
Only 2 rooms 1 with king bed other with 2 queen and not available was willing to get adjoining room but again none available. Had to settle for regular room too small for our needs with walker, oxygen and bedside commode.
We stayed at the hotel to visit nearby attractions, such as the Royal Gorge, Skyline Drive, and Bishop's Castle. While we had a pleasant time here, the breakfast was very limited to a few items given out at the desk, and the hotel had no recycling facilities to put cans or bottles in.
The pool had to much chlorine and could not swim. It was hard to breathe in the pool area. The chlorine irritated all of our eyes. The breakfast on the go, was horrible and no options of what to pick from. The heat only went up to 78 and the room was cold. The toilet was loud and did not flush all the way and had to keep trying for the water to go down. The bedding and shower curtain was torn. It needs an upgrade. The remote did not work well. The small refrigerator made a noise at night that was so annoying and I could not sleep.
The friendly staff checked me in quickly and provided a receipt quickly upon leaving. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and everything worked. I did little but sleep, but the stay was very nice.
several things really need to be fixed the security door being the most pressing. The ladies that served us where all friendly and helpful. I wish they had gone the extra mile to have the breakfast service going like the Hampton inn does next door, they are serving guest to keep with in covid guidlines.
Appreciated a return visit to a familiar hotel. Even with Covid-19 measures in place, appreciated staying with the amenities offered, Hot tub, Pool, and a Sack breakfast was appreciated as well. Used the internet as well.
Stayed for a couple of nights for a quick getaway to Canon City and surrounding area. Everyone was very friendly and provided us with great service during our stay. The hotel was very clean and employees were following COVID protocols. Our room was also very clean and comfortable. We had a couple of good nights sleep and enjoyed our room. The location is close to everything you need and local things-to-do. You can walk to IHOP, Chili's and a couple of other places. The BEST grab & go breakfast we've had anywhere during this thing... We really appreciated the nice start to the day. Good place - check it out.
I brought my family to Canon City for a ride on the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. We come from Denver so it's not really a day trip...possible, but not practical. Last time we stayed at this location was 4 years ago. This time, it just didn't have that vibe we once had. I do understand they are a bit short staffed these days. It took about 10 minutes after we arrived to actually have someone from the front desk show up to the front desk. No sign, nothing on the desk actually saying they had stepped out. Still should have at least one other staff-member manning the front desk at all times, or at least a sign. We had rooms at the far east side of the building. Walking the hall brought some interesting smells including marijuana and possibly cigarette smoke. This is a non-smoking hotel. But, since it now resembles the quality of a Super 8, this type of thing didn't surprise me. They have a pretty nice pool area with a hot tub. Water was clean, temperature of the pool could have used a few more degrees, and they even have a sauna; one of the last few hotel saunas in the free world. I was glad they had plenty of extra linens and pillows available. Sometimes hotels run short of those but they had plenty available and we definitely needed plenty. The rooms are quite small and BW is very strict on the number of people staying in a room. Even if you have an infant, that counts toward the total person count. So if you are a family of 5, even the website won't let you book until you can get it down to 4. Hint: If you book a two-queen room, there is just enough space for a twin size air mattress between the bathroom wall and the bed. Given how run-down this property appears to be, I think we will be considering the new place being built next door or the competition 1/4 mile west. Not only is it very tight, and really against the rules, for a family of 5 in these rooms (they still cap out the number of guests in their largest room at 4 even though there is plenty of space for way more than 5), but security also was a bit of an issue too. The exterior doors were unlocked the whole time and not secured at night requiring a key-card. So if you're a couple or a family of 4, and not picky about accommodations, this place can be for you for just a night. Otherwise, I'd recommend choosing another property in town...especially after the new one opens.
I was in Canon City for a meeting and haven't stayed at a Best Western in a long time. I was pleased to find a clean, very quiet room. The bed and pillows were perfect and there was even a sofa and coffee table. Coffee is terrible, but I can overlook that.
With Covid restrictions, I was curious to see how our stay would be. Everything was explained on what we could do and what the hotel staff would do. At anytime if I had a questions, they were very understanding and helpful. My family and I enjoyed our time and did not feel that we were in danger nor were we worried about Covid issues. I felt like all of the guests were equally as courteous to each other in respect of distance and patience in any situation.
This is an ok hotel. Rooms were clean but not great. Pillow are way past their prime and need to be replaced. My biggest issue with the hotel was that I saw a lot of the staff without masks while doing their jobs. It is the law in colorado to wear masks in common areas disappointed.
Have stayed here a few times, usually not bad at all. I do have to say it was clean and the staff was friendly. They were abiding to Covid restrictions (masks in hallways, bagged breakfast, rooms were sanitary, except the pool area. Sign on door said no more than 10 people in the pool area. We went into the pool area around 8pm at least 15 people, children screaming in diapers, no masks while not in the water. Needless to say got outta there, yuck!
Very clean and spacious. Abiding by COVID regulations. Carry out bag breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Stayed Friday of Labor Day Weekend. Only 45 min from Colorado Springs. Not far off the highway.
The hotel was really pretty with rooms in great conditions along with a friendly staff. Speedy check in and check outs were offered along with a great breakfast (in COVID didn't expect it to be so good).
By far one of the worst hotels I ever stayed in. Canon City does not have many hotels to choose from. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by cheap plastic wrapped around the front desk like an episode out of Dexter. Looks like a scene out of a horror movie. Our room had nasty wet disgusting stains all over the carpet. Very basic room yet asking for $174 per night. Rooms were not cleaned upon return from the day. When asked at the front desk why our room was not servied, they said it was due to Covid. Front desk said it was Corporate policy not to go into quests rooms until they check out. Therefore, dirty towels left on floor and garbage overflowing. It was my birthday and I was very upset. I told the front desk I wanted to check out and stay someplace else. They said they would allow us to leave and not be charged for the night. When checking out and giving back the keys the owner said you could leave, but would still have to pay the night because they could not rent out the room. Yet people were still checking in, and I already paid for another room based upon being told by front desk management I could leave and not be charged. I am so disgusted with this experience I felt it necessary to let others know not to be fooled by this bogus Covid policy. If anything, the rooms should be extra sanitizized and not allow guests to stay in rooms where the carpet is wet with stains. Using Covid as an excuse not to clean rooms is shameful.
First impression: cheap plastic sheet in reception area (looks like a morgue) instead of Plexiglas that you see in most hotels. Charged $174 per night for a very basic room with old badly stained carpet that felt damp to the touch. Carpet so nasty we placed a towel over the wet area. Gross! Went out for the day and room was not cleaned when we returned. Garbage overflowing and towels still on the floor. Spoke to hotel management and was informed that they do not clean the rooms until guest checkout due to COVID. This was not mentioned when we checked in and no other hotels during our trip to Colorado had this kind of policy. Due to all these issues, we informed the front desk that we wanted to checkout and they offered to allow us to checkout and not be charged for our second night so we booked another hotel. However, upon checking out the owner said we could checkout but we will be charged for the second night despite confirmation from front desk we would not be charged. Owner was extremely rude and refused to accommodate us. As a result, we plan to contact Best Western's corporate office, as this is not the quality we expected from a Best Western. Overall very bad experience. Dirty hotel room and rude service at a high price is unacceptable
Apart from a cheap plastic sheet at the reception counter there was no other effort made to prevent covid transmission. The staff did not wear masks and were totally anti social. The room did to appear sanitized as other hotels we stayed at. The walls were paper thin so sleep was constantly interrupted. Breakfast was a goody bag containing sub par items and the coffee pots were empty. Overall not a good experience compared to the other hotels on our journey that went out of their way to make you feel comfortable.
So the good.....room was clean bathroom also. Sink is outside of the bathroom which isn't ideal but that was ok. Breakfast was grab n go due to Covid and it was good. You got a muffin 2 granola bars a bag of fruit snacks and a thing of yogurt Very pleased with that. Now the bad....bed and pillows were horrible the bed was so hard. Our ac wouldn't work and the desk clerk came and said you have to turn the heat on first then the ac and it worked fine after that. But the one thing that I found unacceptable was they refused to give me a receipt when I checked out. Said they couldn't. They didn't even email it to me. I like to see what they actually charged me. To me this is wrong Covid didn't affect computers so they should be able to give a receipt. I won't stay here again.
We were so pleased from the moment we walked in. Shamene was so accommodating and nice. She gave us great rooms and was so helpful in every way. The pool and hot tub were so nice and clean. The rooms were clean and quiet. On our way traveling home we chose to stay 2 extra nights and a lot of that reason was due to Shamene! We will definitely stay here when we are in the area next year!
I have stayed at this hotel 3 times over the past 7 years, always nice and clean. Staff is very friendly. AC will keep you cool and the shower water pressure is awesome. Walking distance to Chili's and IHOP.
The hotel appears clean and neat from the outside, and when entering the lobby. The rooms appeared clean and neat upon entering. We were at the hotel for 3 nights and the 2nd night our granddaughter was stung by a scorpion. When I called the front desk, I was told that pest control had been there that week and she should be ok....Benedryl would make sure she didn't have a reaction. My husband went to the store at 11:00 at night for Benedryl. Our granddaughter was fine, but the next night, we found 2 more scorpions in the room. Because of the pandemic, no service was given to our rooms unless we went to the front desk and got it ourselves. Breakfast was in a bag. The contents were mostly filled with sugar and fat with little protien. We had 9 family members staying at the hotel, but no place where we could all meet together.
It was nothing nice to have to hear the dogs they had barking in a nearby room and worse at night. I will not return in particular to this hotel. The ugly place unsuspable and close to the road with a lot of noise
Extremely clean accommodations, outstanding customer service. Excellent work out area, pool and hot tub. Beds are very comfortable. Have stayed here several times and plan to return. Overall outstanding value.
Chose this best western based on reviews. Entered the lobby and it was musty which I took was due to the indoor pool/haut tub/spa down the hall. Asked if the rooms were musty. Assured they weren't. Wrong. Room design/decor was very nice. HVAC was off. About half an hour after turning it on, smell was better but not gone. We woke up with sore throats and sinus congestion. Tried to take a shower and tub wouldn't drain. Told office, but they only offered to “snake” it. And we were not offered an late check out that would have make that an option. When we complained, they only offered more reward points. Really?!
Very nice hotel. Friendly clean good food nice location. Wonderful beds!! Very quiet. I sleep just great there. The front desk people are so friendly and efficient. The food is nicely prepared and plenty of it. Coffee is good. Always clean and cheerful.
I called the Best Western in Canon City, Colorado on 12-10-2019 to reserve a room for several days so we could spend Christmas with our daughter and her family. My wife and I have two small dogs that we travel with. They're really family to us. I inquired if the were dog friendly. They said yes for $30 per pet, per night. I did not reserve a room and I suggest that anyone thinking about staying at the Best Western in Canon City Colorado to look else where. They have a curious as well as expensive definition of what “pet friendly” means.
Great customer service from all staff. Easy access, kids loved the pool. Great experience all the way around. Only things that would be a nice change would be to replace the exhaust fan in bathroom, really loud. And change the rooms light bulbs to soft white instead of the bright daylight color.
Staff is friendly & helpful! Breakfast is fresh & good (strawberry waffles the days i was there). Room was a typical BW accomodation...clean, attractive, & comfortable. I've stayed here before & will again when i go to Colorad!
We had a bad experience the night before at a different hotel down the road. Came here for a reservation the morning of the night we needed a room, they were very understanding and accommodating. The bed was AWESOME, best night's sleep I've had in a while. The room was clean and well decorated. The breakfast was top class, great choices, and fresh fruit too! I will definitely be coming back here when we need a room.
This hotel is convenient. The breakfast was pretty good, and the room clean. Friendly staff. We were told it had been renovated, but the rooms are still in need of updates. It's spacious, but sparse. Pretty comfortable bed and ok for one night. There are 2 restuarants right in the parking lot, so that is handy.
This is a great location if you want to enjoy all the antique shops in Florence, Colorado. This Best Western is in the same parking lot as Chili's and IHOP. So convenient after shopping all day. Great place to stay and the staff was excellent!!
Very nice hotel. Great staff and nice breakfast spread. Clean rooms. The only thing they need to address is the guest laundry. They only have one washer and dryer and they are as old as me! They need also to get a detergent that you can open. The liquid pack does not open nicely. Since this is the closest to Royal Gorge (family destination) a washing machine is a must have.
This property was basically very clean, fresh, quiet, comfortable, and solid for electronics like internet and television. In addition the public areas were quite nice and clean. Unfortunately, our room had some deficiencies. First, the air conditioner was very slow to respond and the device would not operate at all on the "continuous fan" setting. We like to have that running to drown out any other sounds that normally occur at most hotels. Next, there was a brown circular stain in our tub which was rather unappealing. Then there was the treadmill in the Fitness Center that was out of order. Finally, the tile grout had been stained with black mold. I sincerely believe it had been treated but the stain was still there and again, rather unappealing. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at on our trip and most disappointing for the price.
We were extremely satisfied with our stay! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower was amazing. The location was perfect for our needs. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff are on top of everything!
Easy in and out, friendly accommodating staff. Great value. Breakfast was refilled, we didn't wait or want for anything. A full breakfast with eggs, sausage, bread products, 3 kinds of cereal, yogurt, waffles, hot and ready to go.
I was really concerned about the city I had to work for personal reasons. But as soon I arrived at the hotel I felt a since of relief from the staff at the front desk. They made me feel welcome and always took time out to talk with me. Being on the road can get lonely at times so I find myself always ready to talk when someone is will to listen. I have to go back to this to close out a assignment, and I have already asked my travel team to book me at the Best Western.
Clean and comfortable hotel with an amazing staff that make you feel welcome. Well lit and clean parking lot, restaurants within walking distance. We did not get to try breakfast because we had to leave very early, buy it smelled good as we were leaving.
It was a pleasant experience. Just wish their brkfst area was more spacious very small for size of hotel. Other than that the evening staff was great especially Mark he was helpful and friendly we would stay again and recommend to others
Very nice hotel. Room was clean, beds comfortable. Near a lot of eateries. The check in staff recommended a great steak place in the next town. It was fabulous and I thank them. Will highly recommend.
The room had a strange odor in it, and they were unable to provide us with another room. They were booked supposedly, yet there only seemed to be at most 15 cars in the parking lot. Breakfast, the fruit that was sitting out on the line was frozen solid, little silly they'd even sit it out as it's a little hard to put on your waffle at that point. The rest was pretty good. Hot tub needed more water in it for it function properly, it just shot water all over the place.
I booked this hotel based on the reviews, not sure what room these people got, but we had 2 rooms. First let me say we were exhausted when we arrived - it had been a full non-stop day & I needed sleep. The person at the front counter was very nice & check in was quick & easy. The rooms were terrible. Our room - a double, had filthy stained carpet and what I think was a distinct pet odor. The adjoining room for my older kids - also filthy carpet and some weird odor. I wanted to request diff rooms, but again, my family was exhausted as was I & I asked will these rooms do - only later to find out the adjoining room, a king size, had DIRTY sheets. In fact, they asked me to come look, appeared to be coffee stain that didn't come out. However, the next morning, they showed me more filth on the sheets. Unbelievable!!!! I slept, but not well, and couldn't wait to get out of that place. We stayed in 5 different hotels on this trip, of which 3 were Best Westerns - the others were absolutely fine. I'm not sure if they gave us rooms that needed updating or what, but I wouldn't stay here again - even if it was free and was furious at myself for not making the effort to change rooms or hotels. They did have a good breakfast.
Bed bugs found. Reported and left. Manager called me per my request and he did if I want to report the bugs to health department or police ( what why would I call the police!) I could suffer the consequences!! Threatening guests is unreal. I was very professional as was my husband upon reporting we had a block of rooms for wedding. No early check in before 3pm. So we even paid for extra room no one stayed in on Friday night as to have a room to dress in on day of wedding which was at 330 (photos). Then they tried to trash our family on social media and we had made no comments about our experience.
Very nice hotel, appears to be fairly new. Very clean and nice staff. They made you feel welcome and tried to make your stay enjoyable. The woman in the breakfast area was so enjoyable and kind. Great customer service. Nice room and very clean. Enjoyable stay. I highly recommend if you are in Canon City.
The place is nice and the staff is helpful. Very close to two restaurants so no driving needed. Parking is large also well lit overall service was very satisfying and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
These are a bunch of thieves, quoted us 129 then charged us 250 for the second night, (a Thursday) without telling us. There is no one to complain to, you have to email the manager, and that is a waist of time. Do yourself a favor and stay someplace else that is honest.
Little high on price, close location to the royal gorge and that's why we stayed there but feel for the price I could have stayed at nicer hotel, if you are looking for a close hotel to the Royal Gorge then this is good location just a little high on the rate
I had a great stay at this property this past weekend. It's very well-maintained inside and out. Best Western has a few different grades of hotels, and I would have thought this place was more what they call a "Best Western Plus." But I guess I'm glad it's not because that would have meant the rate would have been a bit higher. Based just on my driving around and seeing places from the outside, it definitely seems like it's one of the town's nicest hotels. I didn't use the indoor pool, but that also seemed to be in good shape, and guests were enjoying it. The person who checked me in was very friendly. Everything in the room was great. I liked that I could open the window. The wifi was fast; I had no problem streaming "The Boys," which had just come out on Amazon. The breakfast was good. There's no question I'd return here when returning to Canon City. One suggestion: Not all properties have the space for it, but I value when a hotel has an outdoor area for guests to sit and congregate. This hotel does have such an area, but it's small, and the layout makes it awkward for it to be used by more than one party at once. It seems they've got some more space back there. I'd love to see that outdoor area expanded from one grouping of seats to perhaps three. Throw in a fire pit, and you've got a really nice spot to sit and relax in the evening.
My wife and I stayed here for a week while visiting in the area, and we will definitely stay here again! Our check in was fast and easy upon our midday arrival and the desk clerk was helpful and informative. Our room was waaaaaaay down at the end of the second floor, but certainly at the "quiet end" of the hotel. Our room was clean and very comfortable, including an easy chair and hassock, plus the usual desk/chair combination. The bed was very nice, with four large pillows and what felt like higher quality bedding than I would expect for a hotel in this price range. The sink is located just inside the door, separate from the adjoining toilet and shower. No outlets in the bathroom meant no night-lite for finding your way if late night visits are necessary, but the glow from my cell phone saved the day. The room was equipped with a microwave (which we didn't use) and a refrigerator, though I'd hesitate to call it a true refrigerator. It was actually closer to an electric cooler, since the unit lacked a freezer and only chilled our sodas to what can be best described as cool, but certainly not cold. It was adequate to keep my prescripton eye-drops chilled, but the desk cheerfully labeled accepted my freezer gel-pack upon check in and returned it when I requested it at checkout. Wifi was very good, and we had no problems connecting or staying connected, though there is absolutely no security on the network, so be cautious if you need to access bank information or other account information. Recommend you disconnect from Wifi and use your data for these tasks. The wall sconces near the bed were equipped with both USB and outlets for cell phone chargers, and that was a nice touch we often don't see in equivalent hotels. We did not see one bug (dead or alive) during our entire stay anywhere in the hotel, and that speaks to the overall cleanliness of the building. My wife and son used both the pool and the jacuzzi and reported that both were sparkling and odor free. I didn't use the fitness center, but it appeared to be clean and well-kept from all appearances. A huge and much appreciated surprise was the excellent and well-stocked breakfast bar. No matter when we came down for breakfast, we had a tasty selection waiting for us, including freshly scrambled eggs ("we crack our own!" was heard more than once from the breakfast staff), sausages or fresh bacon, a waffle iron, muffins, danish, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, a juice machine with apple, orange, and grapefruit juices, a variety of cereals, and all the condiments and other necessities you'd expect, including syrups and real butter for your toast. It's obvious the breakfast crew take great pride in their offerings, and we calculated that we saved on an average of $25 a day, just by "eating in", rather than going across the parking lot to IHOP. Also worth mention is the friendly attitude of every single staff member we encountered during our entire stay. I cannot single out a single person as being better, because everyone we encountered from the Front Desk to Housekeeping, Maintenance, or Management was invariably polite, friendly and welcoming. Larger hotels should take a lesson from this, because we have rarely encountered such a nice group of people anywhere we've stayed in the past. This Best Western location may charge a few dollars more than nearby competitors, but it is money well spent and well worth it. We highly recommend this hotel as one of the best we've stayed in of equivalent cost.
I book rooms here for employees for business travel. We have had good experiences in the past, but the last time they ended up canceling our reservations without calling, or emailing us to let us know so we could make other arrangements. This was also during the peak tourist season, so we barely found rooms at other hotels.
Stayed here so we could go rafting the next morning- clean and safe- right across from coldstone creamery:) pool and hottub were needed after long day of exploring!! Breakfast and coffee were good ! Room and bed was very comfy!! We would stay again!!
There is something wrong with sound proofing / deadening in this hotel. While there was some guest generated noise that could have been addressed by staff, the majority of the noise was normal hotel noise that probably shouldn't have been so loud in my room. Walking on the floors above, elevator noise, vending machine use etc. $185.00 for one night of getting NO sleep. When I asked the staff twice to address the guest noise, the response that I got was "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" The hot and cold water for the shower are backwards. There was a dirty washcloth hanging over the shower curtain rod.
We stayed two nights here while sightseeing in Canyon City. The front desk clerks were very nice and helpful with information about the area. Breakfast buffet was typical - pastries, breads, etc. One morning was scrambled eggs and sausage, the next was scrambled eggs and bacon. There was a waffle maker also, which I know a lot of people like. The staff was very good about keeping everything filled. We had a problem with our shower the first day, but told the desk clerk about it and it was fixed when we got back that evening. We had a room on the ground floor. No problems with hearing people above or next to us. Pool and workout area both looked very nice - we didn't use either though while there. We walked to dinner both nights at Chili's . Also an IHOP next to hotel.
We stayed 5 nights here and the rooms were clean and the front desk and breakfast people were friendly but the rest of it was frustrating. We had two kids with us and after 2 mornings of the breakfast always being out of stuff we gave up and went to the IHOP. The first morning we waited 25 min for them to refill. The only thing left was bacon. When they finally refilled the pans they only did half way. And the room was packed. I have never seen a more poorly run breakfast. They were little things that make it look like they are letting it go down hill. The stopper in the tub didn't work and the shower curtains were discolored. I always chose Best Western because they can be trusted but I can't give a good review of this one.
Main reason we stayed was for Landry was available. But the people above us were very noisy all night stomping. Asked the staff if they could move us or ask them to stop, only got worse... all night even next morning still stomping
We booked online site unseen and were pleasantly surprised. It's probably one of the nicest hotels in Canon City which allows pets. Book with confidence. It's also located very close to an IHOP so you can walk over for breakfast.
Very nice hotel. Easy to get to and on the Eastern edge of Canon City. Mark at the desk is so welcoming and makes you stay great from the start. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. If you like, Ihop and Chili's are on the same block.
Checked in Friday evening told only room available for two nights was a suite, so we took it. On Saturday at noon the hotel called to tell us check out was at 11 am we needed to come pick up our bag, I told them we were not checking out until Sunday, she said NO we only had the room one night. Front desk person Ashley was very rude and acted like this was our fault.
We were in town visiting family and stayed for three nights during memorial weekend. We loved it! Hotel was very clean. There is an iHop and Chilis within walking distance. Breakfast was great with scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, waffles, assorted breads, yogurt, oatmeal, dry cereal, juices, and coffee. The staff was very nice and helpful. We were told to visit Pizza Madness after my daughter mentioned she wanted pizza for dinner. Great recommendation because it was really good. Good location, we felt really safe. I look forward to staying here again when visiting family.
Stayed here for a couple nights while enjoying a few attractions in the area. It is a very clean hotel, has a nice pool and pretty large hot tub which was great after a day of white water rafting! It is built with wood floors (not concrete which I am used to in other areas), which makes it rather loud for hearing people walk down the halls or above you. The breakfast is good however the breakfast room is small and packed with people. I would stay here again if visiting this same area.
I would not stay here again, it looked fairly new on the outside but once inside you could tell it wasn't. Our entire room shook when walking across it - that can't be safe. We thought it was just because we were on the first floor but when at breakfast the next morning the floor shook on the breakfast floor on the ground floor. We tried to get them to hold our luggage but they don't really officially have that service. We used their laundry facilities, there is only one washer and dryer. When I went to go check out the facilities it was absolutely filthy, the trash can was overflowing, who knew people used the laundry room soo much. Thankfully when I came back to actually put my laundry off, the room had been cleaned. The shower/toilet is separate from the sink which is helpful. However the toilets in shower area had big long hairs on them!!! There isn't much choice of hotels in Cañon City, but I'd rather not stay here again.
If having reliable, reasonably-fast wi-fi service is important to you during any part of your stay, avoid this hotel. This had to be the slowest wi-fi connection that we've ever experienced, anywhere, by a huge margin. My 1997 dial-up connection was MUCH faster than this hotel's wi-fi was. Seriously. Other than that, this Best Western property was nice. Staff members were friendly and made both checking in and checking out easy and efficient. The room was updated, clean, comfortable, and spacious.
The hotel is relatively new, within the last 15 years anyway. It was nice, had a rocky waterfall, stream bed, fountain on the side of the parking lot. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. And even told me about all the shanks they have on display at the territorial prison museum ( one was made out of jolly rancher candy) - that is new since the last time I was at said museum. Breakfast was typical of this type of hotel. It was clean. Would stay there again.
We were not recognized as Elite Members, we were put on the 2nd floor when a entrance level room was requested (no biggy as there was an elevator), and the floor would have been softer than the bed to sleep on. Neither of us slept well because of it.
Very rude employees! I wasn't very fond of their tone with me. If you are wanting to stay in a hotel in canon city I would highly recommend to NOT go to the western hotel, Rooms were dirty stains on the sheets and towels like as if they don't have any House keepers. Their was crap stuck on the inside of the toilets, dirt at the bottom of the bathtub, I've never been to such a repulsive hotel in my life. I was very displeasured with their service.
Clean rooms, comfy beds. Nice staff. Toilet and sink were low to ground. Toilet flushed really loud. Breakfast was typical not great with powdered eggs and package gravy. Some people raves about blueberry waffles but I did not try. Pool area was very nice, clean with hot tub and sauna. Breakfast attendant was very kind and very polite and friendly- giving my kids color changing spoons. We will come back for sure.
Our beds were comfy, roomy and clean. We did not see the pool area but it seemed family's were enjoying it. The breakfast that was included in the room price was very good and well attended even as the service was coming to a close.
Great place to stop on the outskirts of Canon City. The room was clean but I was confounded by the mini-fridge. It wasn't on and I couldn't find the on button. Hint: Find someone with skinny arms and reach over the top and behind. Breakfast was typical Best Western with a combination of some hot and cold choices...and 24 hour coffee. There is also an IHOP right next door. We chose the location because it was only a 5 min drive to the Royal Gorge Railroad. The rooms were clean but did show a little age.
There's so much out doors things to do Around this area. This was convenient for us. Clean rooms and friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay there. Located right off highway and if we ever around the area we sure will stay there. Thank you
If i could give the Best Western a zero, i could. We made a reservation months in advance for three rooms for family members travellng together from a graduation in Denver. One room was ADA because my parents are in their 80's and mom is in a wheelchair. We had to stay in Denver an additional night because all highways in and out of the Denver area were closed. We could not get to the hotel if we wanted to, yet the Best Western refused a refund, pocketed our money, plus resold the rooms. Sweet. They stiole my money, but worse they stole my parents' money wh could not really afford to lose it. If you are a senior yoiurself, or do not find this ethical, then do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
Stayed here for 13 nights. Room was very clean and had all comfort including a microwave and coffee/tea facilities. The bed was comfortable except the quality of the pillows were a bit poor. They serve a complimentary breakfast which has a lot of choices. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It was a pity that the guest laundry was out of order until further notice. I had to go and drop off and pick up my laundry in downtown. I could find any pick up and delivery service. I would stay there again without hesitation.
Good predictable experience clean, comfortable, and affordable. The breakfast was better than most. The internet was acceptable. The pool area was clean and looked clean. The staff were very friendly.
Looking for an overnight getaway from snow and cold, we were so happy to find this hotel which satisfied on nearly every level. New & attractive exterior & landscaping and welcoming check-in provided a great first impression. Rooms are squeaky clean and very comfortable. Favorite amenity was the warm & inviting indoor spa area with good sized pool, hot tub & sauna. Ahhhhh! Happily, they offer pet friendly rooms, but sadly there is no really good place for "outdoor duty" with the nearest grass over a block away. Conveniently, I-hop & Chili's are within a short walk.
Stayed one night, staff was very nice, everything was in working order and good condition, sauna, hot tub - didn't use fitness center, room had all amenities we look for (microwave, fridge). Bed was comfortable.
Once again, our trip to Colorado was great with a nice stay at Best Western in Canon City! Everyone there made us feel welcome and our daughter loves the magic spoons from Rita with the breakfast staff!
My wife and I spent just 1 night here on a road trip around Colorado and New Mexico. We found the receptionists to be warm, welcoming and very helpful. The room was fine - clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities, and breakfast while nothing special was ok. The location is convenient to the main routes and was easy to find and all in all this was a very good hotel but with nothing special to make it outstanding. Nevertheless a good choice for an overnight in this area.
This Hotel was clean, up to date, comfortable cozy and a great place to stay. The bed was very comfortable, and the linens were clean and attractive. The front desk and all the staff we encountered were friendly, accommodating and a pleasure to work with. The breakfast was delicious, a wide array of choices and very delicious. We will definitely chose this hotel again when we return to Colorado. Thank you to all for a wonderful stay.
My husband and I took our 3 kids (ages 6, 8, and 10) for a family fun night. The room was clean no issues there. The staff was amazingly friendly and very helpful. The pool area does need to be updated. The door to get into the pool area is broken so anyone can wonder in there (safety hazard to small children) and the jets to the hot tub had to be turned on manually by hotel staff because the button is broken. The free breakfast was good and kitchen staff was kind and kid friendly. Overall a great stay!!
Hotel was great like always , spend three days there everything lookded good breakfast was great every day and bed was great got a good night sleep each night. Love the pool and hot tub, that was so relaxing. Can't wait to I get to go back next time.
After a day of sightseeing and driving, I decided to stop for the night in Canon City, CO. BW is close to highway 50, but there was no noise at all from the highway. The room was very good, with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, and so was the hotel service.
The staff that greeted us was so nice and friendly. I believe the gentleman's name was Mike. Way to go this is the great customer experience I like from this chain. Room was quiet and spa was ok the seating area was small for breakfast but again the staff makes it worth it as the lady that kept the area was so very helpful.
We came in Canon City after dark and the hotel was a little hard to get to. I booked a room on the phone. The clerk was very hurries and when coming in to check in he was the same way. Did not spend enough time to show where the room was etc. in the morning I noticed why , there was a bus located in the parking lot and the breakfast area was very busy. Room was clean and we had a great sleep.
We had issues with our reservations. I had the room for two nights, but found out the gentelman that booked it, only put it for one night. It was fixed. I would have been ticked to be out sight seeing and get a call to come get our stuff.
I had to go to Canon City due to a death in the family. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly. From the front desk to the cleaning crew, they made me feel like royalty. I also can't have gluten, which makes travel difficult to a small town. Their continental breakfast had enough options for me to have a really good meal.
Location was excellent, easy to find. There is a park 3.5 miles down the street that was beautiful with long walking trails perfect to walk your dog after a long day of travel, places for kids to play, a river that was very relaxing. There is an IHop and a Chili's restaurant in the parking lot, also close to gas stations, car wash, Walmart, grocery store. Check in was fast, Mike was friendly and welcoming, helpful with questions about the area. Rita made sure the breakfast area was ready and guest were enjoying breakfast. Landscaping was beautiful, they even had covered parking for motorcycles. I would have liked to see some actual greenspace for the dogs to use instead of just wood chips or walking to adjacent properties. I didn't use the pool area, but saw families using it and they looked like they were enjoying it. Canon City was beautiful, the people were friendly, I would definitely stay here again.
The room at the Best Western was clean and pretty spacious. The elevator was broken as was the ice machine. We had a room on the second floor but way way down the hall. We were also. It told about this problem. That being said the room was just fine.
We needed a place to stay on the way to Colorado Springs. They gave us the last king room which was huge. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We didn't have the breakfast, but there is also a IHOP in front of hotel.
I was very pleased with this hotel. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. The staff was helpful in helping us with questions for our stay in Colorado Springs and looking for a Best Western there. Breakfast was great! I would definitely stay here again!
Good, safe hotel. Not the nicest Best Western I've been to and a little over priced, but as a woman traveling alone with my son I'm willing to pay a little more for feeling secure. Indoor pool was cold but the Jacuzzi was nice & it even had a sauna. Breakfast was good.
Not much to say about this place. Didn't feel real comfortable here. Not very clean & needs some TLC. Didn't eat breakfast here because it was nothing we wanted. Not the worst but definitely not great. Needs work, but okay for one night.
Service was great! Room was clean! Bed was hard as a rock - hence the 3 star rating. Free breakfast was very good. The room we stayed in was a nice size as well. The water pressure was good and the water was hot. All important things in a hotel stay.
We were pleasantly surprised with our experience at this Best Western. The hotel & room were clean & comfortable, breakfast was very good with a variety of items, and staff very pleasant and helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
I booked this property sight unseen and was extremely pleased with the entire experience. The guy checking me in at night, Mark, was extremely helpful and I felt like I had a friend after talking to him for about 10 minutes. I stayed in a suite which was roomy and perfect for me, since I had a business meeting the next morning. Breakfast was above average for most of the other Best Westerns i have visited. Their business center was also better than most hotels. I hope I have a chance to stay here again in the future.
Stay here often. Summer rates are a little high in my opinion. Place was full however.so the rates may be compairable to other Hotels in the area. Stay was nice evne though we were in the aea for a family death. Staff is excellent and understanding at this Hotel.
I could not find anything wrong with this hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly, the hotel itself seemed to be very new and clean, and breakfast was great. We will stay here again next time we go through. The night desk clerk was also very helpful in getting us the best rate possible. :)
This hotel is the best value for your money in Colorado. The staff is amazing and the location is close to many great activities as well. It is a great base to spend a week doing all the outdoor activities in summer and snow skiing in the winter. I highly recommend this hotel.
My wife and I stayed here one night when visiting The Royal Gorge. We had a clean, spacious room with a king bed. The bed proved to be very comfortable. Our room offered what you might expect - microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, flat screen TV, night stand on either side of the bed, chest of drawers. I especially liked the big sitting chair with ottoman for sitting and reading. This is a nice hotel but seemed to me to have a strange configuration. It is two stories with one elevator at one end. The building is very long. I even suspect they added a section on to it. The elevator is right by the lobby and registration desk. If your room, as our was, is at the opposite end you have a long, long walk down the hallway. There are two sets of stairs down at the far end but no elevator if you are on second floor as we were. While the room was clean and comfortable, I did not care for the fact that the shower/tub and toilet were in a room on your right as you entered. The sink was right across from this in the open on the left as you walked in. Walking down the hallway and seeing into rooms that were being cleaned it appears that most of the rooms were set up this way. I did like the lighting over the sink. it was very good. More counter space around the sink would have been nice. The hotel had a fair size breakfast area but I believe it could get over crowded if the hotel was at full capacity or near it. We enjoyed the breakfast which offered a good selection of hot and cold items.
My family stayed here on our vacation. We stayed 3 nights. Hotel and average hotel breakfast but in a very convenient location because chillies and ihop are in the parking lot. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They do have self serve laundry which I used. Our room was clean. Great water pressure in the shower. It has indoor pool and hot tub and nice pavilion area with seating outside a little behind the building so you can have semi privacy. Breakfast area is not closed off after breakfast so you can sit in that open area if you'd like which we did in the evenings to play cards.
My family was visiting the Royal Gorge and white water rafting so we saved ourselves the drive back to Littleton and stayed here. Upon check-in, the gentleman was so friendly and was really nice to our kids even though they weren't on their best behavior. The rooms were clean and a good size and the hotel seems updated. I was going to give this 4 stars because when we went swimming the pool was pretty cold and the hot tub was really hot. And when the door to the pool area closed we were locked in for a short amount of time. But... The next morning we had breakfast. The hostess that was preparing the food was so nice and accommodating to all the guests. There were plenty of options, whether you're a carb lover or not. These two particular employees (the front desk clerk and the hostess) really stood out to me as people who take pride in their work and helped make our stay that much more enjoyable. Thank you!
This is one of the best hotels you will find in this price range. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Upon arrival we found no fewer than 5 housekeepers making up rooms - they all said hello - I've never experienced this before. The hotel is just outside of the congested area (Walmart is around the corner). A traffic light lets you get into and out of the access road without fighting the waves of traffic making their way into Canyon City during the summer tourist season. The breakfast (included) was more than enough for any family. Warning to Pet Owners. Although the hotel's site says "Pet Friendly" what they really mean is "DOGS ONLY".
This is a clean, family-oriented hotel. Has an indoor pool which is great for the grandkids. We went to the Royal Gorge Bridge, drove the Skyline Drive and then did whitewater rafting with our 8 year old grandson. We had to stay one night even thought we were from Colorado Springs. This was a reasonably priced, comfortable hotel with the added feature of an indoor pool which we took advantage of. Breakfast was decent for this level hotel.
My wife and I stayed here along with my son, his wife and two grandchildren. Newer hotel design with interior only access to rooms. My wife and I had a clean room. Breakfast was typical and adequate. Breakfast room staff was attentive and checked with us before picking up food as our grandchildren had sleep-in and were later in joining us for breakfast.
First, set up weird. Long single hall building with office at one end. My room was on the other end, thought about Uber-ing to my room. Room quite a distance from the front desk. Then, persistent problem with keys. Usually took multiple attempts before working, and at one outside entrance door nearest my room, never worked. My room on the first floor, could hear and feel every step from the room above me. Room was clean and bedding was okay. Place could do a little better job with Wi-Fi security. Fairly priced.
WORST customer service I have ever experienced from a hotel from the Front desk to the Manager. They don't care about the customer! We had an issue about cancelling one of our nights. I asked to talk to the manager the front desk lady (Patricia) said he was not available. She would not give me a clear answer. I asked how to get in touch with him she said there was no way that he was too busy and would not be able to speak with us and that he wouldn't do anything about our request anyway. She had worked there five years and he has NEVER helped out a customer with the kind of issue we had. He stepped into the front desk area for about 30 seconds, he did not acknowledge us. He did not seem approachable (not nice) so I did not feel comfortable asking him to speak with us and then he left. ***We had the exact same request three days prior with a Best Western in another city. There was NO issue from that location. They put the customer first. The Pool was gross! My kids did not want to swim in it. It was cloudy and green. I asked the front desk about it they said it was fine. I don't think it was. The window screen did not fit so I couldn't open the window fear of bugs coming in. The bathroom door lock was broken.
I am a platinum rewards member and have stayed at this property under former owners. I recently made a prepaid reservation with a good rate. While a suite upgrade was available (corporate policy) and the front desk wanted to give it to me upon check in, the new owner flatly refused to do so and personally cancelled my reservation when I spoke to corporate on the subject. Heads up, this happened on Memorial Day weekend and while he refunded payment to my credit card it was inconvenient at 10pm. I had a much better experience when I transferred to the Hampton Inn. This owner doesn't follow corporate policy.
Really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet, comfortable and clean. The service was top notch. The clerk gave us a sheet with recommendations for places to eat dinner. We chose Pizza Madness, great pizza! The continental breakfast was very satisfying and tasty. I was particularly impressed that in addition to a desk and computer chair, the room also had a comfy chair with an ottoman and its own end table. That was a little touch that I really liked. My husband always steals the desk and chair, so at this hotel, I had my own comfy chair to unwind in, stretch out my legs and have a place to put all my stuff. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and we both slept very well. It was a great place to stay, no complaints. Would definitely stay again.
We stayed here one night while we were visiting the Royal Gorge Bridge. Staff was nice. Room was clean and breakfast was ok. The hotel shares a parking lot with IHOP, but they had a decent breakfast. Good wifi connection.
I was in Canon City for business and I had been put up in a different hotel -- and the room had clearly not been cleaned at all. I fled that hotel and went up the road to the Best Western, which totally hooked me up with a clean room. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, which was needed given that I had been traveling all day, it was late and I was exhausted. The hotel itself was quite nice and quiet. Wifi worked great, and there was a great desk to work on, which was helpful for me.
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was very big and included a great whirlpool bath. The hotel is in a good location so all of the tourist attractions in Cañon City are just a short drive away. The hotel was also very clean with lots of parking.
It was very late and needed a place to crash for the night. The check-in was quick and pleasant. Parking was very ample and well lit next door to IHOP. The room was big, well lit and appeared clean. The bed was very comfortable. I was surprised to see a very nice, well stocked complimentary breakfast buffet. The attendant was very helpful and pleasant, too. Will be back.
We stayed with these fine people for three fun filled actiondays in Canon City. Upon checking the nicest lady made us feel so welcome and at home it was unbelievable They checked us in early to a spacious Queen room which was clean and well appointed. The next morning we enjoyed a great hot n cold breakfast which had a vast selection of breakfast eats. After our river rafting with the Royal Gorge group we we came back to smiling face n helpful hearts. Everyday was the same even during our checkout. I highly recommend this great location n wonderful people.
I'm never sure what to expect when I book online, but it this Best Western was a GREAT choice! The staff was professional and so helpful. The rooms were clean, beds are super comfy, great water pressure in the shower. Thanks to everyone there who made our stay so wonderful!
I visit this town frequently because of extended family. I have stayed at numerous hotels in town. Recently I stayed here after a week of traveling, staying mostly at BW properties. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast lacked a bit compared to some of the other BW properties I had stayed in during the week, but it was still very good. Dining area is a bit crowded. The lady handling the dining area was very nice. The desk staff was efficient and very nice too. Compared to many of the other hotels in town, this on is a very good value.
The cleanliness of the room was great and the staff especially the housekeeping was helpful, and professional. The only negative was that there was not a designated area for dogs to relieve themselves
Best Western has proven to be a great place to stay my entire life. This facility stayed on par. We were road weary and very glad to be greeted by friendly staff and able to enjoy a comforting cup of delicious coffee.
Nice hotel as you enter Canon City from the east. Services are good and there are couple restaurants near by as is the famous Abbey with Winery ... Many of the other sites are further west but not too far away.
It was a great friendly comfortable place and the staff was so helpful and kind. I will be staying at this hotel from now on when travel. I also loved the indoor pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. I would recommend staying here any day! It is also a non smoking hotel which was great for my kids and did provide a smoking area outside the hotel entrence. I appreciate the staff and the lengths they go to help and keep there customers happy and satisfied.
This hotel is the newest hotel in Canon City. It is a very nice place to stay. Everything was nice and new. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very typical but the breakfast staff was very nice.
The motel and staff were average, what you would expect. Room was clean and comfortable enough. The breakfast was good but the area is too small and crowded. Need to redo that part of the motel. The pool area was clean and relaxing.
This was the best hotel we could find for a quick getaway to Canon City, and we loved it! Very clean, comfortable and quiet with friendly front desk service. Chili's Grill & Bar is right across the parking lot and the main focus of our trip, the Royal Gorge Route Railroad, is just a short drive down Highway 50.
Very enjoyable stay at nicest hotel in Canon City! Pleasant, helpful staff, comfortable room, quiet and restful night. Didn't make it to the pool this visit although it was very inviting. We certainly enjoyed our brief visit and will be back.
it was fine, appreciate the friendly staff. Checking in the desk clerk waas friendly and efficient, she was helpful in answering questions about the area. All of the staff, cleaning and breakfast, the next morning were friendly.
So far, this is the best place I have found in Canon City, Rooms are clean. The staff is helpful and responsive. The beds are awesome, at least for me. Best sleep I have had in weeks. Breakfast was acceptable but nothing special at all. Parking was good and it is in a good location. Rooms were quiet and so was the heating & cooling system.
Great Room, breakfast was great. Room was clean, service was wonderful. My admin booked this room she did a great job picking this hotel for me to stay at. Registration was fast and the front office staff were efficient and friendly.
This Best Western Hotel is by far the Best stay I have ever experienced. I had to stay here due to unforeseen circumstances and the entire time I have had to stay here has been the best in Customer Service, Cleanliness, Friendliness, Concern, Feeling Welcome and a Great Breakfast. The owner and staff have made me feel very welcome and have always made sure I have what I need. I have enjoyed my stay here and I will always recommend this Best Western to others and will use this Best Western in the future if the need arises. They are awesome!
I had to cancel our reservation due to a family issue in Colorado Springs, the front desk person indicated he could do nothing! The manager was apparently in Arizona. I called the 800# to cancel the reservation since there was no answer on 3 attempts during the evening 2 nights before. Still have not received a call as of 3/8/18. Finally received an email stating they would make NO accommodations for me!

This place is the worst not only was it DIRTY and had stained sheets and smelled of cigarettes in non smoking room management was EXTREMELY RUDE was moved to new room whuxh was just as bad they gave me $25 refund in the morning what a joke. Then when i wrote reviews they accused me of blackmailing to get my money back i dont want anything from them just wanted to let others know to book elsewhere plenty of other options in the area stay clear of these people.
The employees of this Best Western bent over backwards to be more than just pleasant and friendly. Every single one we talked to was helpful and friendly. The motel was pleasant also, with nothing negative to report.
Traveling with the family (husband, two young kids, and an 80 lb dog), to see the Royal Gorge! This hotel is on the edge of Cañon City, but has excellent amenities and food/entertainment options very close by. It was the best value we found in the area (hello $400 a night for Royal Gorge cabins?! not on our budget!) and it was a wonderful stay! Things we loved; Dog friendly! They charge $20 a night per pet and I was afraid we would end up in a stinky, dirty, hotel room designated for pets. Well, they do have designated pet rooms, but you would never know it when you walk in! There was no pet odor. No stains, no fur stuck in the carpeting, it was clean and fresh and just as we would expect from a regular room. They have a very large area at the back of the hotel for pets to play and do their business. Gravel, mulch, and grass. Plus a seating area for humans to sit and enjoy the mountains. It was great water pressure! Oh my gosh, the water pressure. You can take a real shower with plenty of water and heat and flush the toilet with a super swish! The staff is so friendly and very helpful! Checkin was a breeze and we were given tips on where to park for easy access to the room, where and when to view the NYE firework show, and things we must see in the city. During breakfast, the attendant was super helpful and did a great job making sure the food was hot, fresh, and plentiful. She made it a point to acknowledge and welcome guests and was very pleasant each morning. If you're not the adventurous type for dining out, there is an ihop and Chili's right out the front door of the hotel that you could walk to. As well as a movie theater and Cold Stone Creamery across the street. The pool and spa were awesome! Plenty of towels and even pool noodles for the kids to play with. The hot tub was clean and very warm and the jets had lots of pressure. The pool was a nice temperature for the kids to play in without getting too hot or cold. They also had a sauna, that we did not use, but it looked nice! Things we didn't love; The beds are pretty firm, but I realize some people like that. I'm used to sleeping on a very plush bed at home, so I was a little stiff in the mornings, but nothing a brisk walk with the dog couldn't cure. Overall, we loved our stay at this hotel. It was a great stay for the money and we would certainly book with them again. If you do book with them, just be sure to mention that you have a pet staying with you! Those rooms are limited!
We really enjoyed our stay. We were there over the Xmas holidays. All the staff members we interacted with were wonderful and the hotel itself is a nice, new facility. We were very pleased and plan on staying at Best Western again.
This hotel sets back for Hwy 50 just far enough to be quiet but still has easy access and great parking. Also for electric and hybrid plug-in auto owners outlets are available for your own charging cable. Standard BW breakfast, could use a little more room when hotel fills up. Decent internet speed. Pool looks good but we didn't use it.
Comfortable beds, nice linens, very clean room, spa, pool, breakfast area. Hot breakfast was varied and tasted good. Staff is responsive and cheerful! Canon City highway frontage lacks sidewalks making crossing over a challenge, although the traffic signal helps.
-Brandon Trevino Highly recommend this hotel, very clean bedroom and bathrooms, helpful staff. The breakfast food quality could be better. Overall experience was good. I highly recommend others to stay here as well!
Very clean, stayed 3 nights while visiting family for Christmas in town. East of downtown, on highway. We needed for nothing... towels are a bit small, needed xtra blanket , not available in room. Quiet, nice staff
The room was clean and well stocked. The staff were kind and helpful. They got us a complimentary toothbrush. The breakfast was good and dining room clean. The lady working in the dining room gave my children a color changing spoon and made them laugh with her light up antlers. A good place to stay for Christmas activities.
Called asking for room rates after giving rates encouraged to look online to see if there was cheaper rates with our 'loyalty' number. Appreciate the effort to save a few bucks. The 'innkeeper' was a nice man that remembered us us in am asking if we had a nice evening out and slept well. Not just making convo really remembered us. Clean, quiet, easy to get to rooms. Thanks again for not disappointing us.
I lived in Canon City for 10 years and know there are only 3 motels that are worth staying in.The Canon City Best Western offers the best bang for the buck with a modern clean facility that is very well managed.
Overall, a good hotel to stay at for the money. Good staff, clean , comfortable room.....a bit dated but more than acceptable. Close to two restaurants. Nice breakfast service and excellent workout room.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is perfect for a family vacation and a couples vacations. We plan on coming back every year. Thank You for All the Wonderful People we made our vacation such a Hugh Success!!!
It was a delight to find this hotel. From every aspect, this is a high quality facility: appearance, spacious rooms, cleanliness, excellent breakfast, courteous and helpful staff, location, proximity to good restaurants, etc. We will be back the next time we're in the Canon City area!
Very conveniently located hotel, staffed with professionals who clearly took customer service seriously. The Canon City Best Western is a very pleasant place to stay. I experienced no problems, enjoyed a nice hot breakfast every morning, and would have no hesitation at staying here again.
We have stayed at the Best Western in Canon City, Co twice this year!! We will be back! Clean rooms, great staff, Nice location, truly "Best" value in Canon City! Beds are comfy too! Great breakfast, complimentary too! We have stayed at at least three other motels in Canon City over the last few years! Best Western is our preference! At least in C C!!
We were in town to visit family and had a great stay at the Best Western in Canon City CO. Rita of the kitchen staff setting up breakfast made us feel welcome and my daughter looked forward to seeing her every morning.
I love to stay at this hotel every time I get to the city. Staff is very friendly and they always have a smile on it. Room is great and breakfast is very good. I do enjoy the pool and hot tub and the sauna, after a stressful day or working it is relaxing to use the pool and hot tub to relax.
I got charged for this hotel and I didn't stay and canceled 2 days before the reservation date. I thought the policy was 24 hours. I would not recommend this hotel, the customer service is horrible and I got cheated.
Former Holiday Inn Express, now Best Western is a good place to stay in the Canon City area. Fair rates, quiet hotel. Good staff and decent hot breakfast. Breakfast area a bit cramped at times, but handles 20+ people when needed.
As usual, Best Western, Canon City, CO out did themselves with excellent customer service, great price for Rewards Members. Very clean hotel. Good breakfast. Spa Rocks! The office staff called immediately after my husband left his walking can behind. Christa called not only my husband, but called me. She offered to mail it to IA where we live. Quite impressive.
Had family and friends stay here and the rooms and service were great. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Handicap accessible and good food. I will be using this hotel again in the future. The property is also pet friendly.
Always clean, efficient, and we are well treated. This location is one that I have used for years and years. Canon City too, has developed some great restaurants. Easy access to rooms, many first floor rooms available. Great parking, restaurants right next door if you do not feel like driving into town.
Enjoyed our stay here. Bed was very comfortable but would prefer full-sized pillows like they have at most Holiday Inn Express', but these were adequate. Very clean. Good breakfast with lots of variety.
Each time I have stayed at this Best Western I have been VERY happy. The personnel are professional and friendly. The inside and outside are clean and fresh looking. If I needed anything they always took care of it. I highly recommend this place when you visit Canon City!
Grandparents, Mom and four kids. Had a great time. The rooms were comfortable, the water pressure for showers was unbelievable. The breakfast was satisfying. We will be sure to stay at Best Western, Canon City, Co when are once again in the area
We really enjoyed our stay here. Staff was friendly, room was clean, and it was in a great, central location. We got a good night's rest, and the shower felt soooo good! We would stay here again for sure if we come back through here.
Service efficient, room clean, everything worked. a little nosiy during night, people heard in corridor and TV next door Buffet breakfast had good variety, warm food, tasted great. No one at reception at time of check out
Front desk workers were very knowledgeable about the city and adventures that were available. Hotel staff was efficient and friendly. Cleanliness was evident thru out the hotel. Free breakfast was good
Great hotel with comfortable beds, good shower and friendly, helpful employees! The 2 gentlemen at the front desk went above and beyond to help us feel welcome and that our bikes were safe on the property.
Rooms were clean. Typical hotel room. Bathroom was small with sink outside bathroom. Hotel overall adequate. Location was good and easy to find. Hotel priced appropriately. Breakfast was the worst of our entire trip - just not good at all.
Good stay and breakfast was great in the a.m. Location is very good and ample parking.Service at check in was excellent and the comfort of the room was good. I would recommend staying here again and the value is very good for a lodging in Canon City.
Kind of off the beaten path, but made it neat. The staff was wonderful. They had a bus come in and it seemed that they had no delays in checking everyone. Food was OK for this type of breakfast. Very clean.
Great place and location. Hotel very clean and all staff helpful, professional and pleasant. Breakfast was awesome, well stocked and great variety to choose from. Over all an excellent hotel which we will definitely return to.
I booked this hotel based upon reviews I read right here on Trip Advisor. I don't understand why so many people think this is a really good hotel; it's just OK, nothing special. It looks good from the outside, but inside is dark and dated. The ceilings in the first floor hallway are very low, and combined with the dark carpet and the low lighting, it made me claustrophobic. The nights I stayed here, it sounded like a herd of elephants in the room above me. Also, the breakfast, which I was led to believe was going to be a great experience, was only so-so. Also, they have too many tables in the breakfast area, and you couldn't even turn around without running into someone else. Next time I am in Canon City, I plan to stay in Pueblo, where I can get a room at a better hotel for less money.
Front desk clerk spent more time outside smoking when he should have been following up on a noise complaint. Long story short, after hearing what seemed like someone jumping off the bed in the room next to us my husband finally went down to the desk and asked Dwayne why the problem hadn't stopped? Other guests were complaining also. Dwayne told my husband to "F#*K off", his exact words and told him we had to leave. We left and were still charged for the room. Terrible customer service and then to be charged for it. Worst hotel experience we ever had.
We stayed here for one night and it was very clean and comfortable. The beds were super comfy and everything was spotless. We brought our two dogs with us and had no problems. Rooms are also very quiet. Can't hear your neighbor.
I enjoyed my stay and the inside looks better then the outside. I needed a nice place to stay while settling my daughter into school. Of the choices I had this one provided a the best quality options with a nice environment. While also being close enough to be convenient for me. The breakfast was as I expected and was fine. The beds were OK, I am use a Sleep Number bed at home so any rating I give to a hotel mattress will always score low. The most import thing to me other then an acceptable bed is a clean room.
This hotel is a testament that you don't have to pay a lot to get a lot. The breakfast spread was one of the best I have seen in the "free breakfast" world of hotels The rooms were very nice, the internet very good and everyone of the staff we met were very helpful and friendly. This was a great place to stay.
This proper was completely taking care of and very clean, good breakfest, great amenities indoor pool got tub. I love the room the beds where comfortable and the cable has plenty of channel. The Wi-Fi is fast.
The hotel is conveniently located off of Highway 50. The room was nice and clean, staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Used the business center while there. The computer and printer worked fine. The attractions and restaurants we went to were an easy drive from the hotel. No complaints.
A botched confirmation led to our room being given away without notice, but Anis helped us out and got us a nice room down the road. One call and he made it happen on Labor Day Weekend! We were pretty miffed at first, since they did not email after the cell number was written down incorrectly, but they made good. Good folks!
Look for somewhere else to stay while there. We wanted to go downtown to eat at the PIZZA place and this BW is on the other end of town. The breakfast area was too small, so we ate at the IHOP right next door. The elevator was hard to find from the second floor, but at least they had one, many don't. We will look for somewhere else next time. The staff was very nice.
Hotel is clean, rooms are large and well appointed. Pool area is very nice with hot tub and sauna. The staff is friendly and attentive. Breakfast is diverse, hot an fresh. Hotel has weird design, long narrow layout with elevator at one end by lobby. Rooms at opposite end of elevator side incurs quite a long walk.
Friendly clerk, we arrived @2:20am. Llmy friend had a knee surgery, the clerk changed our original booking from 2nd floor to the first floor. Vey considerate clerk. Served breakfast with real scramble eggs.
/the room was nice , clean and large. The property was well kept and clean. Many selections for Breakfast. The breakfast area was clean. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. When ask where a good meal could be had they suggested a restaurant in the vicinity which had good food and good prices.
I stayed in an accessible room due to my mother. The room was very small and was told it was because the bathroom was bigger to make it accessible. I asked for a rollaway bed but they do not offer them. Probably due to the size of the room. This was an older hotel and for the price I paid, it was disappointing. On a better note, the woman who checked us in was very pleasant.
We truly enjoyed our stay and the Best Western in Canon City, CO. There is a hot breakfast bar that surpasses any we've seen at any other hotel. It was very good! The hotel is very nice. It is conveniently located near the Royal Gorge Bridge too!
The room was clean, the restroom was big and the shower has great pressure. The breakfast was good and the service and staff were very helpful. Parking was plentiful with places to eat close for afternoon and evening meals.
Never disappointed in Best Western but this one just seemed very cheaply stocked like for instance there was only one tiny coffee maker and only one bag of tea (my husband and i enjoy a good hot tea in the morning) and sadly there wasn't enough stocked but overall cleanliness was very good!!
This hotel is great. From the time of check in to departure, every one is so nice. It is my hotel of choice in Canon City. The grounds are truly beautiful. The gentleman we saw doing the work was doing a awesome job. Kudos to him. And the breakfast, Love the biscuits, Only negative, coffee not to good
Outstanding breakfast...one of the best we ever had. The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfortable. The clerk checking us in was not that personable and friendly. Location is very good. nice hotel
Nice very clean hotel, friendly staff, comfortable beds, strong shower heads, good breakfast. Our boys loved the waffle maker. Conveniently located. Wifi worked well. Nice business center. We would stay here again!
Breakfast was very good and well maintained. Hotel was next door to Chili's, so dinner was convenient. Close to Royal Gorge which was totally worth it! We would stay there again. A little confusion about the extra rewards points.
We wanted a pool for the kids and it was a good one! Breakfast was outstanding! Enjoyed the late check out so that they could swim again in the morning before we took off on the remainder of out trip home.
We were in Canon City for 3 nights. Our room was clean, the bed comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. We used the little fitness room which contained a nice treadmill, bike, elliptical machine and weights. It was stocked with towels and water and even had a nice oscillating fan you could turn on. The breakfast each morning had a wide selection: yogurt, fruit, eggs, bacon/sausage, potatoes, biscuits, English muffins/bagels/bread for toasting, a waffle and pancake maker, and various cereals and muffins. There was coffee, hot water for tea/cocoa and a juice machine. Breakfast ran from about 6:30-9 so it allowed for early eating before a rafting trip OR if you wanted to sleep in you could take advantage of the later hours.
I was disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. There were crumbs/dirt near the edge of both beds. The breakfast had no fresh fruit but apples and the rest was from a can. There were no bagels and jams.
Great hotel and good location. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel was clean and tidy. The breakfast was hot and good. I would definitely stay here again. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone. Great place!
People smoking marijuana in the room next to us The odor came into our room and I suffer from Asthma. They had to open windows and put an ionizer in it. Next night people were so loud had to call front desk
Paper thin walls, could hear people in other rooms talking and even their footsteps.... They, as of right now, have put the total two night stay charges as a pending charge THREE times on our card. When notifying them of this, they told us that was normal policy. We have never had s hotel do this before. We have had some places TELL us there will be a $100 pending charge. NEVER two to three times the total bill. We will not be staying at this hotel on future visits to Canon City.
Standing room only during the breakfast buffet! The cook did NOT anticipate the 9:00am rush. Hard scrambled eggs, no sausages left, no potatoes left. By the time the sausage was done, my eggs were cold. By the time the potatoes were done, I was done eating!!
The hotel is clean and was a good value, included a hot breakfast and would have gotten a good review had the room not had an overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke. The entire hotel was supposed to be non-smoking and it made for a horrible night's sleep and caused my belongings to have the lingering smell of cigarettes as well.
The two best features of the Canon City Best Western are the friendly staff, and the tasty breakfast items. Oh yeah, and the rooms are clean and comfortable also. One breakfast item that should not be overlooked is the green chili. It's simple but delicious over the real scrambled eggs.
This hotel has the most comfortable chair and ottoman I've had in a hotel in a long time. The room was easy to get to with optional entries, it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was hot and good.
Had a great three-day stay as I was traveling to various tourist attractions on an auto trip. The front desk is very efficient in handling all questions. I had some questions about check-in, and they were very efficiently handled. Nice room, comfortable bed, and great invigorating shower (not always available in hotel bathrooms). Rita oversees the breakfast room very efficiently and professionally. She has a smile for everyone!
This was very disappointing. Even though I had a print off copy of my reservation and an actual email the day of my stay confirming my arrival, they didn't have my reservation. So they put me in a room (supposedly their last one). We get to our room and this is what we find: a wet towel hanging behind the bathroom door, mold all over the shower curtain, no functioning vent in the bathroom, 3 bath towels (four occupants in the reservation), and........ random hairs all over the sheets (both queen beds!), blood actually on a pillow case, and if that wasn't enough, when you walked, the items shook in the refrigerator/microwave shelving, not to mention that the walls were so thin that you felt like you were sleeping on the road outside. When we woke up the next morning, the room was so small that you couldn't find a place to sit to have breakfast, the orange and apple juice was water flavored with a hit of the fruit and no napkins at all. Coffee was empty and in general, free evidently meant good luck!
Good hotel, good location, dated appearance, comfortable room but too warm, great shower, good breakfast but too crowded, elevator smelled damp and musty so take the stairs, nice people, good price if using aarp.
This is a decent hotel for an overnight stay. Nothing out of the ordinary but a good place for the night. I would say it is better than most other hotels in the area but the price is also higher than most other hotels. There is an IHOP and Chili's basically in the same parking lot. Hard to see the hotel from the highway. Staff was friendly but did not go out of their way to make the stay overly special.
This hotel was not up to the Best Western standards. The room smelled bad. The vanity and toilet were very low. The beds were terrible. The noise level was very loud. The breakfast was poor in quality all around.
My family opted to stay at the BW in Canon City because it's pet friendly. The hotel has a really great pool and jacuzzi; the pool is a bit small, but the water was pleasant and it was clean. The jacuzzi was great. Also in the area has a sauna, with a bucket of water, which can be poured over the rocks. We did not use it, but it's a nice and rare feature. The breakfast was all right -- not great but not terrible, either. The dining area was small for guests; this hotel is in a somewhat small hotel in a small town, so this makes some sense. It seemed pretty basic, but I really did not have any problems with it. The only issue we had is that our door was difficult to latch, so each time we closed it, we had to practically slam it, which was loud. Other than that, it was a nice, clean option, especially for a pet-toting guest, and I would stay there again if in the area.
Nice clean hotel, helpful and friendly staff. Our only complaint is that the breakfast room was way too small for the size of the hotel and we had to wait in line for food and for a table. Otherwise good place to stay.
We had a great experience here! Friendly staff clean rooms an it being the 4th of July weekend was very booked but they never made us feel like we were a bother. They recommended a great place to go eat that evening at the Royal Gorge Brewing CO. Breakfast was a good selection an fresh.
The staff at the hotel were very helpful and the overall cleanliness was good. A little expensive for a Best Western, but it is a vacation destination. The only negative part of the stay was the size of the breakfast area.
Did not have clean sheets when we arrived at the hotel. Blood stains on bed and on pillows.went to find any employee but nobody at the front desk!no management was able to be found! For what u had to pay i expected much cleaner and better service. Not satisfied at all! Will never consider this hotel again or any best western locations!
A great location for any activities in the Canon City area. Close to restaurants, grocery stores. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable along with a helpful staff. A surprisingly good free breakfast.
Only stayed one night, but was very pleased to find a really clean room that was fairly comfortable. Air conditioner was a bit loud, but kept the room nice and cool and probably helped drown out sounds of other guests so we had no problem with it. Breakfast was your standard hotel buffet - nothing special - but the coffee machine created a line because you had to push and hold the button to fill your cup (it was confusing to use); not a big deal, but maybe something they should change. Every single employee we encountered was pleasant and provided excellent service.
The hotel is actually really clean, nice, and attractive. It seems new or newly remodeled to me. The continental breakfast is nice. We certainly got full enough to start our day rafting. The rooms were nice and the bed was quite comfortable. The shower was also nice. The kids enjoyed the indoor pool area. The problem is the price. It's completely overpriced. We had 2 adults and 2 kids and stayed on Thursday June 29th for one night and it cost $157. Completely overpriced. The parking lot was only half full which would tell me the hotel was only half booked. The front desk gentlemen could definitely use a personality boost. But the price takes this hotel from a 4 star to a 3 star.
Very nice hotel on the Main Street in Cañon City. Breakfast was fabulous; eggs, bacon, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles, yogurt, juice. Very nice and delicious. Comfortable room. Highly recommend for visiting the sights in the area.
BW Canon City was nice, clean, breakfast was great, location was perfect for us close to our trip destination and good restaurants close within walking distance perfect stay ..Would recommend as a great place to stay.
I stayed at this hotel with my kids 10,8, and 5. The hotel served its purpose of accommodating us but the bed and pillows weren't that comfortable. The hotel was under staffed at the front desk but housekeeping was good. The breakfast was not very good (watery eggs, terrible coffee) and we ended up at the IHOP located in front of the hotel. We would not choose to stay here again if traveling through canon city, it could of been better.
I would stay here more as I travel to Canon City all of the time, but it is a bit over-priced. It is rated three stars, but would say that it is an average two star hotel. Food was fresh and hot, but they could offer a few more healthy options. Bed wasn't terribly comfy but that is relative to the sleeper. I recommend the room with the jacuzzi tub. The bath was quite lovely after a long week of work and travel.
I highly suggest staying here. The view of the mountains are excellent. The staff was wonderful. Access to white water rafting, fishing and family oriented things to do is excellent. Accessibility to everything. 100% recomendation.
Stayed 2 nights and truly enjoyed ourselves. Rooms were spacious and clean, beds & pillows were very comfy. Everything was is good working order and clean. We especially enjoyed the breakfast in the morning, very well stocked with many options from fresh fruit, cereal & yogurt to waffles, eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy & the tastiest green chili. Chili's is just next door with order To Go options and IHOP is also right next to the hotel. Both walking distance. Housekeeping staff were very friendly when bumping into them around the hotel and Mike at the front desk was overheard many times being exceptionally helpful to all guests he interacted with whether it was in person or on the phone.
Great place to stay off of Interstate 70 just across CO border into Kansas. Nice hotel, clean rooms, pool & hot tub were great as well. Staff was very nice & breakfast was great. All in great experience & great pricing.
This was the first time I felt like I was home away from home while staying in a hotel. We were here to visit family and feeling so comfortable in our hotel just made our stay that much more wonderful. Thank you
Will stay here again if we're in town again. Had a great time, pool was a little cold but not bad. Everything was nice and clean. Staff was very nice. Nice variety of items for breakfast. Kids were happy too
Had plans to stay here for two weeks. Canceled the room and got a different one down the road after the first night. Poor customer service and many broken items. Ran out the door could not get coffee.
Everything you are looking for in a hotel. Pleasant staff, great breakfast, clean rooms and great WiFi. The location is as you enter the city and not in the business district. It sets back from the road so you no road noise. The only issue is with the morons with their loud motorcycles. Starting out side your window and disturbing everything. It would be great to keep these clowns out of certain hotel so the we could enjoy our stay.
Having recently stayed at 2 Best Westerns, I much prefer this one in Canon City. The free breakfast is STOCKED . . . scrambled eggs, bacon and even GREEN CHILES for a topping. Delicious. Biscuits light and fluffy and all kinds of yogurt, oatmeal, cereals. They've landscaped since the last time I was here, and there is a nice place to sit outside and relax. The room is very clean, spacious and has both a fridge and microwave. Basic amenities in the shower (which has LOTS of water pressure, thank you) but at least they're not pushbutton on the wall. Beds very comfortable and vanity area separate from shower/toilet room, which makes sharing much easier. Huge (for a hotel) pool and spa and a good sized workout room. Not as much as Hampton Inn, but more than Quality or others in town. And worth it, IMHO.
Very large room and good bathroom. Breakfast was good with many hot and cold selections. Easy access on and off to hotel. Staff was courteous and friendly. Would recommend this hotel to couples and families.
Raw sewage seeping from the base of the toilet. Front desk clerk moved us to a different room to our inconvenience. Management is NOT available on weekends (The busiest travel days). The pool was so dirty it was unusable and the pool area was dirty with food and trash, the trash can was overflowing and there were no pool towels. Management failed to contact us after our stay and when we finally were able to speak with Raj the general manager he was unwilling to help resolve any of the issues brought to his attention. WE WILL NEVER STAY AT A BEST WESTERN AGAIN.
Stayed 1 night while visiting Canon City. The hotel was functional, clean, and quiet with ample parking. Did not do the free breakfast since IHOP is next door. Would recommend to stay if you are thinking about it.
We checked in around 4pm only to find that our room was not vacuumed or swept. Had to ask for a broom and dust pan to clean it up myself. Did not pay to clean my own room. Breakfast was great and the breakfast host was wonderful with kids!
The hotel was alright just was loud with dogs barking and hearing the people in the next room. The décor is very out dated. The bed was very uncomfortable. I think if they are going to allow pats they need to put pets on a separate floor. I would stay here again there isn't a lot of options in Canon City.
We had to leave a day earlier than expected because of a death back home. They were very helpful with our early departure. All of the staff was very knowledge of area . Helped in a lot of ways. Breakfast was hot and fresh.
Great stay in Canon City, hotel was in a good location, staff was friendly and offered a great price compared to olthers.we enjoyed our stay here. We were able to walk to restaurants. Breakfast was better than others we have stayed at.
Nice, new, comfortable, clean, spacious rooms, conveniently located. What especially raises the quality of this hotel above others is the consistently welcoming, helpful, and efficient interactions of the desk staff (special shout-out to Mark); the best hotel-provided breakfast we've found on the road (real food, all-day coffee, attentive staff); and a sense that the hotel isn't just about cutting corners to make more money but also cares about customer service.
clean and friendly, comfortable beds. nice amenities. great breakfast variety with gluten free food. easy access and quick check out. talked directly to hotel staff and didn't need to wait. room was spacious. hot tub was great experience.
We were 100% satisfied with the BW at Canon City, CO. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very professional and friendly. The breakfast was great (a lot to choose from). Coffee was available 24/7. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
The staff at this hotel were very friendly and very eager to make sure that we had a great stay. We were greeted every time we came back into the hotel. The pool and hot tub was a wonderful experience. The hotel and room were nice and clean. The breakfast was excellent with a large variety to choose from.
We recently - three days ago - moved to Canon City. While we had traveled to this area many time, usually staying at a B&B or in nearby Buena Vista, this time we needed local accommodations for one night while waiting for the movers. We chose the Best Western because it is pet-friendly and provided breakfast. Before getting to the Incredible Breakfast, I would like to note that the room - two queens - was very comfortable, clean and had all necessary amenities, including a larger than average (for a hotel room) television. The bed was very comfortable and was complimented by quality bedding and pillows. Now the surprise and the treat: An (and I'm saying it again) Incredible Breakfast! Accustomed to the "continental" breakfasts served in most mid-range hotels, we were delighted to discover that the Best Western Canon City provides a full hot breakfast including (the morning of our departure), scrambled eggs, link sausage, biscuits and gravy. All kept very warm and especially tasty. In addition, donuts! Nothing fancy, but still another rare treat. Highly recommended accommodations in a beautiful Colorado town!!!
Professional staff, good location, very good breakfast, and working internet. Room was clean, everything (iron, microwave) were in good operating condition. Parking was good and convenient to the room.
Excellent place to stay. Friendly staff, very clean, reasonable rates. Breakfast is complete and delicious. Would recommend to business travelers. Royal Gorge not far for tourists. Nice downtown area for shopping.
We were part of a family group of 10 that stayed 2 nights, here in Canon City for a college graduation. We were very happy with our stay! The staff was extremely accommodating, especially considering that 6 of our group were children. The breakfast, in particular, was excellent; and the breakfast setup person, Rita, made sure everything was constantly refilled. I would definitely stay here again!
Overall very pleased. Clean well serviced room. Helpful staff. Good location. Parking lot access to IHOP and Chili's. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, THIS SURVEY REQUIRES 200 CHARACTERS, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH How stupid is that 'Sidfgja'figjwR'QWRGNBEQ'ROIHA LK;MERRE 'IEARIKDFG'NJADRG'LK
From reception to check out, we were pleasantly surprised. The motel was clean, modern, comfortable, and had helpful staff. great breakfast. Located at the eastern edge of town. The pool was a bit off color, but the rooms and everything else were super clean.
Great hotel. Building appears new. Amazing pool, hot tub, sauna room all indoors. Pet friendly. Still working on ground maintenance but it looks like it will be nice. Chilies and IHOP are within a very short walk. There is a nice pho place across the street, huge portions. Easy commute to Royal gorge train and the Royal gorge park. Off leash dog park short distance as well.
The pool facility, spa and sauna were fabulous. The fruit at the breakfast bar was bruised and unappetizing. I had the bacon, sausage and eggs which were very tasty. the coffee was excellent, but I wish the half and half was in a decanter like the milk.
We were there only one night. However, it seemed clean. The breakfast was good. The walls did seem kind of thin, and didn't block very much noise from the room above us. We could even hear their toilet flush even though we were not in the bathroom. The staff was friendly.
We usually stay in 8s, due to location but this motel has changed where will be staying if at all possible. Great rooms and very friendly professional staff! The breakfast was very good with lots of options available.
Staff treats you like family! Eggs were actually yummy!! And perfectly located in the city! Big, clean, and new rooms. Swimming pool was very nice size! I would stay again if we ever went back to the area!! Thank you!!
Unfortunately after the front desk staff told us our room would be quiet when I shared I was a light sleeper, explaining noone would be in the rooms on either side of us and that the hotel was fairly empty...Despite this, the staff checked someone in at 2am either above us or on the headboard side of our rooms and of course the people didn't act like it was 2am and we're talking loudly, watching TV and banging the furniture... But nothing I could ask the front desk to do anything about... Add to this that the ac fan still cycled off and off despite being set on and high which didn't help... but the staff was great and the breakfast team was super friendly. The kids also enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the sauna was a bonus ...
After checking in my Granddaughter ran to the pool area to see if there were any other kids swimming in the pool. The first thing out of her mouth was Papa, the water is brown. Obviously there weren't any other kids in the pool. I walked over to the hot tub and although the water was clear, it wasn't hot. We left there and went to our room and were hit with this horrible smell when we opened the door. Neither one of us wanted to stay here. There was a Hampton Inn a block away so we decided to go check their availability. As we were walking down the hallway to leave we noticed brown and yellow water stains on the ice machine with an "out of order" sign on it. After arriving at the Hampton Inn we told the person behind the desk what just happened and if we could have a quick tour of the pool area and one of the rooms. Her name was Kendra and she was very helpful and patient. Everything looked fantastic so we called Hotels.com, (since I booked our reservation through them) and explained everything and asked if they could transfer our stay from the Best Western to the Hampton Inn. The guy put me on hold while he called the Best Western to request a transfer. After getting back on the phone he told me the Best Western was going to enforce their "24 hour-no cancellation policy" and would not cancel the reservation. Although we couldn't get our money back we didn't stay there because of health concerns and poor conditions. The Hampton Inn was fantastic in every way. Steve Shaffer
This is a very nice hotel! Good value for a really clean and well kept hotel. The pool and hot tub are wonderful! The entire staff is very pleasant and Mark is a great guy! We have stayed there several times now and will be staying again soon.
Received no maid service for our second night. Had to have towels and trash removal. Staff brought towels to room and removed the trash. Bed very uncomfortable cause backache with both of us. Most uncomfortable bed I ever laid on. Stayed here last July and did not have this problem.
Very clean and good bed, most important requirements. Pet friendly. Places to walk to for food and supplies. Continental breakfast had all the necessities and was well stocked. Very quick check in and all our needs were met.
With no reservation, we checked in at 1:30 AM and the clerk who took care of us was friendly and fast. When we got to our room, it was roomy and comfortable. The bed was large, and the mattress very comfortable. Our breakfast the following morning was a very nice surprise. It was a hearty, western style breakfast. There were cereals and fruits, eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffles, etc. Everything was fresh and an attendant was on hand to keep things hot. This was a real value reservation and if I return to Canon City, this will be my choice.
I just want to start by saying I very rarely leave reviews but my experience was so wonderful I just had to. For the price I was honestly amazed with how great the hotel was. The cleanliness, the staff, the AMAZING continental breakfast, the whole experience was way beyond my expectations.
This isn't the fanciest hotel. But absolutely perfect for getting a hotel on long weekend trip. There are two restaurants within walking distance. The hotel was clean, staff is courteous and terrific large hot breakfast. Excellent value!
If and when you find yourself in Canon City be sure to stay at the BW. It is in an ideal location and close to restaurants. The staff is helpful and freindly. The hotel is what you'd expect a better BW to be.
Canon City isn't very large, that being said hotel was just fine for the one night we stayed. Clean and quiet. IHOP is right in front of the hotel so we didn't have to drive to get a bite to eat. Breakfast was pretty good (better than average). Close to Royal River Gorge
We stayed at this Best Western on our visit to the Royal Gorge. We found the motel modern and clean. Our room was large, well appointed, clean and quiet. Their breakfast is one of the best we have had at a Best Western with good quality and variety.
The set up in the room with the sink outside of the bathroom is not healthy. Having children made it a little difficult for privacy. This hotel caters to dog owners so if you travel with dogs this is a place for you. We however do not have dogs and were concern with the cleanliness of the carpet.
Hotel is clean outside and inside. Check-in and out was quick. You can hear the people in the room next to you and there TV. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A/C work great. The breakfast was hot and good for a morning start. There are eating places close by.
Pulled into town late. The exterior is very nice. Inside the room was clean and comfortable. Nice big TV and all the creature comforts for traveling. The buffet had something for everyone. The hotel is located close to a Walmart in case you needed something your forgot. Very easy to get to the destination of the Royal Gorge the next morning. 5 minutes down the road.
I ave stayed here several times this year. This hotel is consistent, with the service and quality of stay. Very polite staff and the owner is very pleasant. Thought of staying elsewhere, but chose not to because, in my opinion, this is pretty much tops. only suggestion I have for the breakfast, is better potatoes.
The staff is friendly and helpful. They are very conscious of noise levels. Quick check in. They have an elevator to the 2nd floor. The entire hotel has updated appointments and is very clean. They also have a work / office center. Next to the small highway but we didn't hear it.
We had reservations at another hotel in Canon City and not at the Best Western. However, when we arrived at our original hotel their elevator was broken and all the first floor rooms were taken. The desk guy there called the desk guy at Best Western and told him that he had a couple that needed a room for two nights. Mark, the desk guy at the BW told the desk guy at our original hotel to send us over. It was our lucky day. Mark welcomed us in like he had known us for years! The room rate at the BW was slightly lower than the rate at our original hotel. The place is clean and quiet. As someone else pointed out, the BW is within walking distance of several eating establishments. The on site breakfasts are very good! In short, we are pleased with our stay at the Canon City Best Western. Two small negatives.. The BW is a bit stingy with the number of wash cloths they put in each room. One day there were no hand towels at all. That can be remedied. The walls are thin! This is an architectural problem and likely cannot be remedied. Just don't talk very loud as your neighbor will hear every word.
Check-in was easy and quick. The room was clean and neat. It is a little far from the Royal Gorge Railway, which is the town's main attraction, but not a bad drive--maybe about 2 miles through town with stoplights and a bit of traffic. The price was not outrageous and they offer an AARP discount, so make sure to ask for that at check-in or during booking. It had a very high shower-head, which is nice for taller people. The only thing that bothered me about the room was the floor felt bumpy under the carpet, but not off-putting. Oh, also the wifi was a bit slow. They serve a variety of foods for breakfast--scrambled eggs, sausage patties, roasted potatoes, biscuits & gravy, waffles, oatmeal--quite a bit! The attendant was very friendly and helpful. We stayed a couple of nights because there is a lot to do around the area. Would stay there again.
Ok, so some of the whites aren't as white anymore and there was a mysterious towel under the mattress. I wish I'd picked up the mattress, I'm kinda curious now. At the time I was just too tired to be curious. Other than that, the room was comfy, cozy and we slept well. Breakfast offerings were plentiful. We'd be more than happy to stay here again.
We stayed here 3 nights in September 2016 as a base for exploring the area around canon city. We did not expect much but the hotel really delivered . King bed was very comfortable and bed linens were nice. Service was friendly and efficient. Free breakfast was really good with plenty of selections for a hotel of this size. We will stay here again next time we are in the area.
We are always well taken care of at the Best Western Canon City Colorado hotel. It is clean and quiet. The location is close to our family. We look forward to coming back. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is hot and fresh and ready to go each morning.
The staff was so wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Hotel is pet friendly, this was first time I've ever taken my two small dogs on a trip and staff was ver accommodating. The breakfast was way more than I expected.. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits & gravy and many other selections. Coffee wasn't bad either! Had a great trip!
already did that in your previous questions superb experience I will recommend this hotel to friends and family as a super place to stop, rest relax and it is pet friendly though I wish they did not charge 20 unrefundible dollars for her stay
It was OK. The outside looked nicer than any other hotel in the area. Everything was pretty average. It was OK for a one night stay in the area for biking and rafting trip. The other hotels in the area looked worse so this is the reason we selected this hotel. Skip the breakfast and go to IHOP right outside in the parking lot.
The room had everything we needed; and since it was on the back side of the hotel, it was very quiet. Plenty of parking that felt secure. A good breakfast buffet with a quite a variety of food choices, from eggs to yogurt to make-your-own oatmeal. Very friendly front desk staff. Reasonably priced.
The day of check in, the hotel didn't have any electricity, therefore it was very muggy in the lobby. Our room had a terrible smell of mold. We turned the a/c on thinking it would help, but the smell just lingered in the room. Thank goodness we were only staying one night. Breakfast in the morning was so so. The hotel staff were very friendly though. If I came back to this area, I would seek a different hotel.
Nothing was great about our stay. Room was extremely hot and took a long time to cool down. The front desk gentleman that signed me in was very aloof. Gave the impression of "I don't really care if you are here or not". Maybe he was just hot too. LOL Didn't ruin my trip.
Very nice and well run. Rooms and lobby are clean and well kept. Nice breakfast buffet. Stayed a night and it was so good, we came back for another night. Quiet location and convenient access to highways and restaurants.
I took my daughter and 2 grandchildren to ride the Royal Gorge Trai. The boys are 3 & 4. We enjoyed the pool at the hotel both the night before and the morning of the train ride. Except they tested the fire alarm in the morning. They did warn us but it upset the boys. Everything was clean and nice. We slept quite well. Beds were comfortable. Food was typical for a free buffet. Kids enjoyed it.
Would not recommend to anyone else. The food was terrible and the room was OK but not worth the $114 a night rate. Gotten better value for $57 a night. The size of the city could have something to do with it. there is a popular tourist attraction there.
I really enjoyed our stay here. The manager was very friendly and helpful. There is a very nice pool the kids really enjoyed. We didn't stay for breakfast because there is an IHOP in front of the hotel and my daughter loves IHOP. Chili's is right next door (my favorite ). Rooms were nice and quiet with comfortable beds. I would definitely stay again.
The rooms were clean and the staff was outstanding! definitely stay there again. Also, breakfast was very food and hot - the breakfast staff kept everything filled so everyone had what they needed. Thanks:)
Visited Canon City with my two boys and father. Love the city and wanted a good place to stay, BW Canon City was just that. The staff was helpful, polite and the room was super clean. Pool was good, kids loved it. Right next door to Chilis and IHOP although the BW breakfast is decent enough anyway. The only drawback was the refrigerator wasn't very cold. Didn't feel safe leaving food in it. Its not the least expensive place but its worth the extra dollars for a clean comfortable place to stay.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and hot. The staff was very friendly. There are many attractions to see without traveling to far. This is a great place to stay.
This hotel is suppose to be smoke free but the room I stayed in someone obviously was smoking and when I reported to the front desk the guy just stated oh well I will see what I can do about the smell and get back to you.. Needless to say he never did anything in addition the internet never did work which he didn't seem to care about that either when reported.
We took a break from camping to have a hotel room for a night. The guest laundry was clean and helped the family re-group for the rest of the vacation. My kids found some young gentlemen to have a cannon ball contest with at the pool, so they enjoyed themselves.
This was a very clean and comfortable Best Western in Cañon City. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and clean and very comfortable. The property is clean and well maintained. Breakfast was not very special but ok. I would return to this BW if back to this area.
Stayed two nights as part of a road trip from Chicago to Los Angeles. Plenty of free car parking. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room a reasonable size with microwave and fridge, clean and tidy. Medium size TV with 49 analogue channels, not good quality and most in 16.9 stretched mode. Also ridicules ‘clean' generic remote so no EPG or menu options, hence wrong screen format for most channels! Wi-Fi around 5mbps with a few freezes/drop outs. Bathroom, tiny! Extractor not brilliant but also noisy. Basin separate in the room with a small counter top which is not practical or hygienic! Water pressure good with extremely hot water. Also felt the house keeping could have been better. Beds made but room not apparently cleaned or coffee refreshed. The corridors tended to be a bit dingy and claustrophobic, better lighting would help. Did not use pool or other amenities. Ok size breakfast area with reasonable selection. Main issue though was fire door near the pool was constantly propped popped by an attached door stop. Big sign next to the door clearly states this door to be kept closed at all times! This represents a severe health and safety issue for guests and staff. Have come across similar before, again in Best Westerns hotels! Eateries. Chili's, within walking distance, very good and Chicago Bobs BBQ in the town, also very good.
The front desk clerk was really helpful when we checked in. He gave us good recommendations for dinner and was overall quite friendly. The breakfast area was super busy in the morning, so it got rather crowded and we couldn't find a seat. We took our breakfast back to our room to eat and finish getting ready.
Alas I made this reservation through an on-line service and ended up paying TWICE the rate as the other state employees that I was training. Don't make that mistake!! The room was very adequate; bed comfy and the blackout curtains worked. At the end of a very very lonnnnng hallway my room was next to an exit door that worked well with a room key. The included breakfast was just fine; real eggs (not powdered) and decent yogurt and other choices (sausage patties AND bacon AND other food). Amenities in the room included two small shampoos, a bar of soap, coffee maker (individual cup), ice bucket, small fridge and microwave. Everything worked just fine. Easy on/off Hwy 50 to this hotel, which is right behind the IHOP. But be sure you get a cheap rate! There is NO WAY this hotel is worth the $174 that I was charged.
Spent the night before taking the Royal Gorge train ride the next morning. This property is in a safe area with an iHOP restaurant and a Chili's in the parking lot. Room was clean and comfortable. Went down for breakfast but it was packed----nowhere to sit. So we ate an iHOP.
The room was spotless, super clean When I git to the reception there was a lady ( dont remember her name) She was very helpfull since I wanted a room in the first floor clise to the exit Great customer service Ghe breakfast next mirning was great actualy fresh made scramble eggs, bacon ,potatoes and hot cakes The area was very clean
Overall it was a good stay, if only we wouldn't have been disturbed at 10:00 at night with all the stomping or whatever all the noise was above our room on the ceiling. Other than that we were comfortable with everything else.
We stayed two nights here while we visited the Royal Gorge and the Pikes Peak Cog train. The hotel is located near US 50 and is very convenient. The structure is not "modern" but the facility was clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. A bonus was the free breakfast that had the typical, serve-yourself, fare. The food was good and plentiful. The hotel desk and restaurant staff and were not very friendly however.
I had not been to Canon city in a long time, not sure what to expect from the Best western, the reviews were good, so I booked a room for two night. We arrived late and our check in took about a minute. The staff, housekeepers, were all so so nice. Yest I took my own pillow. I will absolutely stay here again. Biscuits and gravy were wonderful.
Spent one night in this hotel when in the area for vacation. The check-in process was pleasant and quick. The desk attendant was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, had a refrigerator and everything was in working order. Express checkout was offered and used. This property shares a parking lot with an IHOP and a Chili's - making it very convenient. The hotel does offer a breakfast buffet but did not take advantrage of it due to my scheduling.
Nice hotel, clean and comfortable beds. Easy to find, good breakfast, but small breakfast area was very busy! Easy walk to some restraints. Nice location for visiting Royal Gorge area. Nice sized pool that kids enjoyed and nice fitness center area as well. Helpful staff as well!
We stayed at Best Western in July 2016. Mark who checked us in did a great job. We had trouble getting our free night, but Mark took care of everything. The room was great. Very nice sleeping. Room was clean and fresh. And of course the Breakfast at Best Western is always great. Very good wifi. Close to attractions and places to eat.
We stayed only one night at this BW, and overall we were quite satisfied. We were on the second (top) floor, which was quiet even though the hotel seemed to be pretty busy. The rooms were nice and spacious, and the woman who checked us in was very friendly. Special kudos to the breakfast lady. We had breakfast, headed out for an early 9-hole round of golf, and were delighted to arrive back at about 9:45, in time for a sort of breakfast top-up before the breakfast buffet closed at 10:00. Only when we were heading back to our rooms to check out did we see the sign that indicated that breakfast was until 9:30, not 10:00. Our mistake! But the woman managing the breakfast couldn't have been nicer. We really had no idea that we were late, but although she was clearing things away she kept out for us anything that we needed and didn't say a word about the fact that we were keeping her on breakfast duty longer than we should have. My only complaint about the hotel is that the pillows were harder than I like. My parents, staying in a different room, made the same comment. I realize that different people like their pillows at different firmness levels, but having pillows of varying firmness on the bed might make it possible to please everyone. The pillow problem gave both my father and me a night of interrupted sleep that was not very satisfying. I would make the hotel down more for that, since a good night's sleep really is important when traveling, but again, I realize that one person's too-hard pillow is another person's pillow perfection, and it's hard to please everyone. So assuming that we could have gotten different pillows if we had asked for them, I'm going to give the BW Canon City the benefit of the doubt based on all the other elements that were so positive. This is a good, solid Best Western.
Pleasant hotel and nice staff. The hotel and rooms were clean. We had a 2 queen bed room and checked in Thursday and checked out Sunday. The beds were ok. Not the greatest or the worst. The pillows were good though. Room was quiet (we were on the 2nd floor). Driving through town, it's definitely one of the nicer hotels in town. Breakfast was pretty good. Good variety including fresh eggs. You could tell they were actually cracked in the kitchen and not poured from a carton. Meat included sausage and bacon. They had biscuits and gravy, country potatoes, waffles AND pancakes, oatmeal, etc. There was a pretty good sized breakfast area but we took our stuff back to our room anyway. We did have to ask for more towels. They kept only giving us 3 even though we had 4 people in the room. Otherwise, housekeeping did a great job cleaning the room while we were away. It was 100 degrees during our stay and our A/C worked wonders! Rooms have microwaves and a mini fridge. FYI: fridge DOES NOT include a little freezer section like most mini fridges. It's more like a bottle chiller type fridge and you cannot control its temperature. The hotel is across the parking lot from I-hop and Chili's although Chili's had a 45 minute wait Saturday night so plan accordingly. The hotel is on the "edge" of town. But in reality, it just means that it's quiet and takes a whole whopping 10 minutes or less to get to anything you need. It's situated off of Highway 50 which is the main street through town with plenty of stoplights. Walmart is about 3 minutes away, a Kroger-brand grocery store is about 5. There are plenty of both chain and family owned restaurants off the HWY 50 to choose from. We used Whitewater Adventure Outfitters for rafting (12 minutes), Royal Gorge Loop Railroad (5 minutes), and Colorado Jeep Tours (7 minutes). All are also right off of Highway 50. If you stay here, you will really enjoy being at the beginning of the hustle and bustle of HWY 50. You pretty much have anything you would need within less than 10 minutes of the hotel along the road. Those times include stoplights. The farthest would be the entrance to the Royal Gorge if you are driving there yourself. But that's another shot right up the highway. We would definitely stay here again. Clean hotel and rooms, good breakfast, pleasant staff, and great location for all the fun stuff.
Restaurants close by, breakfast is acceptable. 4 day and 3 night trip this time. Pool is a plus after a hot day of activities. Friendly, clean, reasonable. Great home base for the surrounding area. thx.
This was the last night of a two week family trip. This was our last and worst hotel! Although all the other hotels were at least twice the price! For the price not a terrible motel. Did have a funky smell when entering motel and room. Bed was very hard. Again for the price it wasn't that bad. Biggest upgrade they need is on some decent mattresses, I wouldn't stay there again just because of that!
Efficient and helpful staff, Comfortable room, but could use better lighting for reading. Good and varied free breakfast. Handy Chili's and Ihop restaurants withing walking distance, but otherwise a little isolated from other options.
Great beds, people, breakfast and business center . Wouldn't stay any other place. It is very close to a Walmart and has a Chili and IHOP at walking distance. It is also very quiet. Prices for the summer go up a little compared to the great great rates in the winter.
The BW Canon City came through again. We have stayed at the hotel several times each year for the past four years. On this recent trip, we were able to beat the summer heat with a relaxing dip in the indoor pool. The spa provides added comfort. The daily complimentary breakfast is among the best for similar hotels. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and efficient. At one stay, we found the hotel to be pet friendly, allowing our small dog to stay with us. In our view, the BW Canon City deserves an award for accommodation, service, and quality.
Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. They have an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna. Very quiet area, yet right in town. There is an iHop and Chili's in the adjoining parking lots, short walk. Royal Gorge was about a 10min drive away. It was a very comfortable place to stay.
a/c didn't work worth a crap, will find another place to stay next time. Electric went out 3 times. The room was over priced, staff was helpful but was not overly concerned with our a/c problem. Another room was not even offered.
All Good! We were able to do an early check-in while members of our party went rafting Breakfast was excellent Comfortable Beds Air conditioning worked great as it was 100 degrees outside. No problems at check-out Pool and Hot Tub were very nice
Like always I had a great stay at this hotel, staff is great and very nice and polite. Room was great and nice and clean, I had no problems. Breakfast was great like always got a lot food and all kinds of juices and coffee and tea. Even for been summer and a lot of people with kids stayed there it was nice and quite. I did enjoyed my stay, I will be back.
This is an older hotel but it seems to be maintained fairly well. All of the front desk clerks were extremely friendly and genuinely happy to greet us. Like other BW Hotels, they offered the free breakfast in the morning, which is great if you want to grad something hot before you leave for the day. The beds and bedding were comfortable and clean. The bathroom area is a single vanity with a separate tub and toilet which is nice so two people can ready at the same time. The room was a bit on the small side, as there was not alot of room for 2 large suitcases.and 2 bags. There is not much open counter space. Our room did have a mini-fridge which was nice. There is an indoor pool and hot tub that was clean and maintained. Location wise, there is an IHOP steps from the front door as well as a Chili's in the adjacent parking lot. Its a bit tricky to actually get into the hotel lot, as you have to go through the Chili's lot to get there. Across the street there is a new strip mall with a good Mexican restaurant and Cold Stone Creamery and also a theater and a Bealls Store. The police department/safety center is also just across the road. All in all this was a good location on the edge of town and good for the cost. We would stay here again.
We tried to book a room a day prior to our stay and they wanted to charge us over $300 for that night, just because it was the last room they had! Their website listed the usual price. We ended up staying somewhere else for that night. It is nice hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast was good and the room was sizable for a hotel. I just wonder at management's decision to triple the price for one night........
Breakfast was quite good and had a lot of variety. The room was adequate , and the staff was very helpful. My only complaint is that the shower liner was too short, so we ended up with a lot of water on the bathroom floor after using the shower. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay.
Great service while checking in. We had a room with comfortable bed, great shower pressure and good air conditioning. In the morning staff was scrambling. One person handling several people in line while some of the young men dropping doors on my husband and almost running into him.
Very attractive property with above average facilities. Great indoor pool area. Nice lobby, breakfast room, separate business area, gym, and guest laundry. Helpful staff. IHOP and Chili's adjacent to hotel.
We stayed one night in the Best Western in Canon City when travelling from Idaho to Texas. A very good location on the outskirts of the city. We had a very clean and comfortable room, with microwave and refrigerator. Good shower in the bathroom. There is a very good hot breakfast served buffet style downstairs in the breakfast room. I would recommend this hotel for anyone passing thru that way. We visited the Royal Gorge and did the train trip, scenery is spectacular and it is well worth taking time to do the trip.
Rooms were clean, the full breakfast saved us money and time. The Staff was very helpful with room assignment and restaurant selection. We left some items behind; Patricia went out of her way to acquire the items, call us back and coordinate returning those items to us.
If you are traviling and are looking for a hotel that is clean inexpecive and pleasant the Best Western in Canon City Colorado is highly recommended. The staff was very friendly, the pool was clean and excellent tempature. The breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and taisty. The cook was very pleasant and helpfull. The entire stay helped make our vacation a very pleasant and relaxing one.
Stayed for three nights. Location at very entrance of Canon city from South on Hay-50 W Staff: Isac, Mark, Mitchell, Christi and Breakfast lady Rita are motivated to help. Very knowledgable about the city and good places around. Good sleep quality beds
Very nice 3-day stay. Not central but easy to get to with lots of dining and shopping nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room fridge and microwave are handy. Very hot hot pool, which I like. We had a queen bed with a couch, but we probably needed a king.
My visit at this hotel was great, staff is always friendly and very helpful, even when they have a lot of business, they do have time to answer all the question a guest has.Check in was very fast and easy and check out was the same no problem, Rooms are very clean and breakfast is great. Place looks nice and clean in the breakfast room and staff always behind it to keep it clean. You see a staff in the hallway they always have a smile on there face and ask if you need anything or if you ok. Love to stay at this hotel, employees know me by name already when I come and I only go three or four times a year to visit. So its nice that people remember you by name.
The hot tub was great, but the street sauna stole the show. Everything was clean and well maintained. The room was well appointed, I appreciate the couch. The staff is friendly and professional. The rate was $30-$35 cheaper per night than the the direct competition and just as nice. I came here unexpectedly due to a scary desk clerk somewhere else, and am very satisfied with the way my trip finished up. Excellent all around.
hotel was very clean and the staff extremely friendly. Chilis and IHOP in the same parking lot so that was nice. Beds were comfortable and we had no issues with this stay. I would stay here again if I were ever in the area.
I felt safe and relaxed at this hotel. Staff was friendly and room clean. Breakfast area was large and open with items to choose from. This review makes me write 200 characters. A shame! I think this is a good chose in this area especially if traveling with pets.
Stayed here 2 nights for business. Very nice place! Friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast buffet! Two restaurants real close, IHOP and Chilis, just across parking lot. Would definitely stay here again.
Left another Hotel we have stayed at several times after a day to stay here at the BW. Glad we made the switch, rooms are clean and comfy and WIFI works awesome. Isaac was great at Check In as all other staff members were great too. Hot breakfast served daily.
Our first impression of this hotel was the very welcoming reception we received from the front desk clerk. He was able to answer all of our questions about the area and the amenities onsite. The pool was clean and enjoyable for the kids and the hot tub was a great place for Mom & Dad to relax. Rooms look new and very up-to-date, and there was great water pressure in the shower. This will be our new regular stop on trips to the Gorge!
Nice property with very friendly, helpful staff. The pool is clean and well maintained. The in room coffee needs improvement as does breakfast. Generic yogurt is gross! Flavored coffee creamer would be nice too.
My Company arranged a business meeting at this facility in Canon City and received excellent service. We were very pleased with the meeting room arrangements as well as the presentation equipment available.
booking on points made no difference to the level of service we received - all staff were excellent - friendly, super helpful and dealt with our little fridge problem instantly. i would definitely stay here again. though the new wing is unfortunately the furthest from the breakfast buffet and the pool, the shower is the best hotel shower i have ever experienced!
The Best Western at Canon City, Colorado is a very comfortable hotel. We've stayed there several times and will return. The breakfast is very good and fresh. Its location is good and we have our privacy.
We had checked in and were relaxing when a man just opened our door and walked in. He seemed surprised we were there and mumbled that he was checking to see if the carpet was dry and left. The day we were to leave we packed up and then went out for breakfast. Wrong thing to do. It took me a couple days to realize things were missing - a Broncos shirt, a shirt with stars worn once, a sports bra, workout pants and a brand new white zip up sweatshirt. We have never had anything stolen from a motel room till this. Just check your belonging before you leave!!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Canon City. We found excellent service, friendly and courteous staff. Prices were very reasonable...a nice, quiet place to stay and rest. The free breakfast was excellent.
Stayed here over Valentine's Day weekend and got one of their rooms with a jetted tub. The jetted tub was oversized and very nice. King bed was comfortable. The room also had a refrigerator and microwave. Overall, the room was very nice--could use a few touch-ups here and there to make it perfect, but no major complaints. Bonus points for having light bulbs in the fixtures that actually put out lots of light--so many hotels seem to opt for 25W (or equivalent) bulbs these days. Our room was near the elevator, so we did get a little noise from that. Also, the fridge made a bit of noise, so if you're sensitive to noises while you sleep, you may want to request a room without one. The breakfast buffet was hearty and included hot items besides just waffles--there were scrambled eggs, and biscuits and gravy, and sausage patties, and potatoes. This was all in addition to the usual breakfast bar stuff, like cereal and bagels and pastries and coffee and juice. Also, there was a mini-fridge full of yogurt cups. The breakfast room was crowded when we were in there--looked like a couple of middle-school girls' basketball teams were housed in the hotel that weekend--but the frenzied staff still managed to keep everything stocked. Staff were friendly, pleasant, and helpful. Overall, an enjoyable stay.
Best Western was clean, relaxing, and full of amenities which were clean and functional. The staff is very helpful and caring. The continental breakfast was kept up with its variety of food. Canon City has many hotels, but we found this to be the best stay for the best price.
I always enjoy my stay at this hotel, rooms are always clean stuff is great and I do enjoy the pool and hot tub nice place to relaxe. Bed is nice and convertible and I enjoy how good I can sleep in the bed. Breakfast is great and there is always an attendant there who can help you with something or cleans up right away when there is a mess.
I travel a great deal and this is uniquely one of the best motels I have ever stayed in. It is clean, friendly, good breakfast, reasonable rates and overall an excellent stay. the clerk was friendly and helpful. Canon City is not the greatest and the Best Western makes it do-able.
Great place to stay, clean friendly staff. Good location near everything we wanted to do. 2nd floor elevator button did shock us every time we pushed it though. Washer dryer in second floor with vending soap.
Everytime we opened a door there were dogs barking, guess it was okay to leave pets unattended in rooms? There were kids running up and down the hallways, not the hotels fault necessarily, more like parents that let there kids rule the hotel...maybe that's what they do at home and were never taught, but had hoped the hotel staff was a little more pro-active about telling the kids to "QUIT RUNNING & SCREAMING" in the halls! The room was dingy and in need of upgrades and the doors slam shut...needless to say we did not sleep well! Every request we made at the Front Desk was answered by what they CAN'T do instead of what they COULD do. The pool burned your eyes as soon as you walked in so we knew it would do the same if we decided to get in the water. We felt sorry for the Breakfast lady who couldn't keep up with all the little kids taking up all the tables, we finally decided to go next door to IHOP where we had to spend money for breakfast because they were out of eggs, bread and even coffee! Not a good experence at all and will make another choice if ever out this way again. If the staff would have been nice, it may have made all the other little problems not stand out as much!
I came over with my son for a two day trip. The lobby was spotless, despite the fact that most travelers had dirty footwear from the bad weather en route. The lobby smelled like it had just been deep cleaned, very pleasant. Mark at the front desk is friendly, and courteous. The room, upstairs and on the back side, was very clean, all amenities in order, and quiet. An all around great stay, and for less than $100/night, and excellent value!
Great experience from start to finish. Smelled good and was clean, pool and hot tub were amazing and breakfast was well above average for a hotel! I would definitely recommend to friends and family in the future.
Hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is awesome. Facility is well located and well lit. Restaurants within walking distance. I did not use the many extra facilities but the room quality was excellent and staff was friendly and helpful.
The personnel here was very professional and courteous. My room was clean and quiet all night long. The breakfast was delicious and satisfying. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends. The area here is relaxing and has many nice locations to visit.
When we arrived, the manager was in the reception and he and the other employee understood our situation pretty good, they provided us the perfect room for (I explained our situation with my husband's health and the manager really did perfect!!!! One of the cleanest hotels we have stayed, it looks like new and feels like new. I didn't use swimming pool but I could see how clean it was. The breakfast great good every day, the lady in charge of the kitchen was very polite and she gave every table a paper for opinions about the food. The staff was really good too, they are very nice, helped me with all we needed and provided options. We stay in many hotels and this has been one of our favorite!!!! My husband and I want to return, we feel very happy with our 3 days stay.
I often stay in Best Westerns because many of their sites are dog-friendly and I usually travel with at least one dog. Being a major chain, BW is pretty dependable and predictable. This one let me down. When I got into my room, I immediately noticed a high-pitched, continuous sound. I went to the front desk, and the clerk came to my room to hear the sound himself. "Oh," he told me, "That's the refrigerator -- they all do that." Seriously? And people sleep thru the racket? Altho I had intended to use the refrigerator, I ended up just unplugging it to stop the noise. Speaking of noise, the floor of the room above me creaked with every step taken by the occupants. I got used to it, but if you're a light sleeper, it could be disturbing. I was also disappointed with the cleanliness -- or rather, the lack of cleanliness. The carpet looked dirty and was stained, and I don't usually even notice stuff like that, so for me to notice it meant it was really dirty. This motel charged $20 per pet, which is only slightly on the high side ($10-15 is more common, altho one place -- which I turned around and walked out of -- wanted $75!!) Note to management: when a motel claims to be dog-friendly, it would make sense for them to supply numerous poo-bag locations on the grounds, with trash cans nearby. I would not stay here again, but this experience did not discourage me from staying at other BW's.
Check-in and out quick and easy. Comfortable room and beds, Generous hot buffet breakfast included. Free Wi-Fi. Friendly staff. Total hotel is non-smoking. Located across the parking lot from a 24-hour IHOP.
Stayed in Cannon City to take the train and vist the park. Had a wonderful time on the train. The staff on the train were very friendly. We spent a nice afternoon at the Royal Gorge Park. had lunch on the train. Would recommend it the food was good. The gondola ride at the Gorge was nice and free.
Rooms were spotless, beds and pillows very comfy, I had a special request to be near an exit having my dog with me, that request was accommodated, staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was plentiful and as advertised (with a chocolate pebbles and marshmallows cereal I've never seen before - mmmmm). It's right off the main drag, yet surprisingly quiet, a Chili's and IHOP are a few steps away in the same parking lot - and the hotel is about 10ish miles to the Royal Gorge Bridge. The nicest thing is that this is a pet-friendly hotel and the room didn't smell funny :)
This hotel is very clean and the decor was nice. The staff was very friendly. My only complaint was the bed really needs to be replaced, I woke up very stiff and sore. I would stay again as overall it was extremely clean
We are partial to Best Western Hotels...and we were not disappointed this time! The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful when needed. The breakfast assortment was excellent...a good variety to choose from. Our room was clean. Plenty of good lighting in our room and several mirrors. We would definitely stay here again.
This property is basic but newer and very well maintained. It has a great indoor pool, hot tub, and even a sauna. The rooms are comfortable all though a bit on the small side, and the hot breakfast was excellent. Free parking with excellent access to major routes. BEWARE: We booked our room through an online service for 2 adults as we did with every other hotel stay during our 8 day vacation around Colorado. However, despite requesting 2 beds, we were told that there would be a $20.00 upcharge. Every other hotel (including other Best Westerns) on our trip made this accommodation without hesitation or charge. It was apparent that this was a routine spiel for this lady. Also, hot tub was lukewarm due to a problem with the heater. However, they were working on it while there so hopefully it is fixed by now or will be very soon. You'd think she could have made some effort to accommodate our bed situation given the pool/hot tub issue. Nope. We definitely were treated like 2nd rate guests which comes with territory when booking through online discount service but it doesn't mean it has to. It still reflects poorly on this lady and this Best Western. If the hotel property itself wasn't as great as it is my rating would be lower based on the experience with the front desk manager.
Please read our review of "quality" inn. Unsure why this Best Western isn't higher up on the ratings/reviews list. It was great. Very much updated. Couldn't hear a thing from people in other rooms or down the hallway. Great indoor pool and breakfast. Wonderful beds. Thank you Best Western.
We chose this hotel in order to visit the Royal Gorge. It was very clean and of good value. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and concerned about any questions we had, whether it was a dinner recommendation or where to run.
I have nothing but good things to say about The Best Western in Canon City, Colorado. The hotel itself is nothing all that fancy, better then your basic hotel, the rooms were clean, the staff was great. Check in and check out were without any problems. Breakfast is the general hot, make your own waffles type of breakfast. The location is close to just about anything you may need. Has an indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna. All are kept up nicely and clean.
Had a very nice stay at the Best Western. A group of 5 of us spent two nights mid October, 2015. It is not a walkable distance to the historical downtown area, but appeared better kept up and better amenities than the other hotels. Canon City is very spread out and although for example the Royal Gorge is listed as Canon City along with other attractions, you will not walk to any of them, they are within 3-10 miles. The room was tidy. The in room internet worked great. The hot breakfast was quite good - we found the hot waffles amazingly good. But if you prefer, there is an ihop in the parking lot, along with a Chilis. Minor issue on check in, as we reserved two adjoining rooms and that was not what was reserved by staff. But the staff on duty at check in squared it away and got us the right rooms. Some of the hotels looked a bit shady/dated, I recommend this one more than the looks of the others.
This property is very well maintained, with a great pool, hot tub, and sauna. The staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable, and the hot breakfast exceeded our expectations. The free parking is very secure, and the access to Highway 50 is ideal.
Enjoyed my stay and staff is great and very helpful. Breakfast was great and room was clean and nice. I asked questions and get info on what is going on where to go and what to see and staff was very informative about everything and which restaurants are good and what they carry and so on. I always enjoy my little get away at this hotel, just to relaxes and enjoy some piece and quite. I enjoy the pool and hot tub in the evening. Not to many people and its nice to enjoy a little quit in the hot tub.
I am not a frequent business traveler so my reference is mostly pleasure and I maintain a little higher standard for that then the company does for me and my business travels but this place has an excellent price range, the facility amenities are plentiful and the service was excellent.
Clean and neat outside. Lobby very nice. Breakfast area medium size. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Usual breakfast items but I noticed they very very attentive and kept the items stocked. Rooms were clean. Had no problems at all.
I chose this hotel because it allowed pets. I paid an extra $40 per night so that the room would be cleaned appropriately; therefore, I expected that the room would be cleaned before I arrived. The room smelled horrible and the carpet was badly stained. When I complained nothing was done to rectify the situation or lower my bill.
This was the 2nd Best Western we stayed on our Colorado vacation and it was another good one. Nice and clean, liked the room and the people were very nice. Well worth the price and we will probably stay at more Best Westerns on our trips.
The hotel was nice and clean The room was set up with the separate sink which I like so someone can be showering and the other brushing their teeth.... friendly staff Tho it can be noisy like I said up above neither my Husband or I slept very well The breakfast is what u come to expect from a Best western fairly standard floors creaky from upstairs
We travel to Colorado several times a year, and like the idea of staying in a familiar place. We have stayed at this Best Western several times and find it to be very nice, with great staff. Anything we have ever asked for, from the staff, has always been taken care of. The breakfast bar is really good, very clean and everything always filled up.
Glad we had a second floor room, because no matter how gently we walked the floor vibrated. The carpet has aged, and not all that gracefully. The beds were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was standard fair for this type of facility. Hot scrambled eggs, etc. Not sure of the price since we were guests of another party.
This was a very clean, nice hotel. Our room was big and the bed was very comfortable. There was a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Nice hot breakfast. They had a nice pool also. It was right off Route 50. The front desk was very pleasant.
