We booked hotel as we had booked the Faulty Tower show,in the hotel. Rooms clean ,walk in shower, tea and coffee. Thank you to all the staff,but special thanks to Howard. Would stay again. Only negative no lift but it's fine.

Lovely meal. The young waitress very polite and friendly. Toilets were immaculate. Can't fault this place .

Had an unfortunate unexpected visit to The Bold Hotel for food on Wednesday 2 September. We had driven to Southport to go to The Swan Fish and Chip shop but when we got there it had closed at 2pm until 4pm and it was only 2.25pm so we opted for the Bold as it is only around the corner. It looked really nice inside and we asked for a table for 4. My Mother and Son ordered the Fish chips and mushy peas and my husband and I both ordered the Carvery. After standing for over 5 minutes waiting at the carvery area, the server finally came out. We eventually got served with 2 slices of meat and 3 roast potatoes, a cold Yorkshire pud out of a huge plastic box that he pulled from under the counter and our chosen veg. I have never been to a carvery where you do not help yourself to everything but the meat but anyway besides the point. The carvery was awful, the veg was hard and the roast potatoes were the worst I have ever had. The outer supposedly crispy outer part was like rubber that broke into powdery bits in your mouth, they were bloody awful. My Mum and Sons chips were big thick chips and they were raw inside. I would never return to the The Bold again. The lady with dark hair came to our table when we asked for the bill, she could see that I had hardly touched my meal and my husband had left his potatoes and most of the veg and she never even asked if everything was ok or if there was a problem with the food. Biggest waste of £55 we have ever spent. We will not be back. Absolutely terrible experience.

If you are in Southport you must go to The Bold on Lord Street. The food is the best we've had for a long time. The atmosphere is the same. It is excellent value for money particularly given the brilliant food and service. What really makes The Bold Lord Street stand out is the staff. They are attentive and friendly. A special thanks goes to Giverny and Mia who are an absolute joy. These two are a credit to you - happy, smiling, polite and most of all genuine - they have time for you even after what must have been a particularly busy day with the air show being on. Even at gone 9pm they were still happy. Thank you ladies you are both amazing. We will be back to stay at the hotel very soon. X

Just had a fabulous evening meal at the Bold . We are staying at the sister Hotel across the road (the Lord Street Hotel ) and thoroughly impressed by both. Special thanks to Giverny and Mia who served us ,these ladies are a credit to you and we're so friendly and personable. Love everything, the food was great the onion rings were amazing as was the whole meal , the decor, ambience, service all top notch. This place is raising the bar in Southport and we will definitely be back . 5 stars 🌟

Lovely place to stay if in Southport. We had a newly refurbished room overlooking Lord Street. Clean room with a comfortable bed and pillows. Lovely staff. Breakfast was included in price and overall great value for money. We did not mind the additional fee for parking which was convenient for us. Location right on Lord Street was ideal, and nice sitting area outside which they cover in event of rain. Would definitely stay here again if staying in Southport.

Lovely pub/ hotel. We had 2 parking spaces no problem at a good rate. Room very nice. Shower average. Comfy bed. Noise from the street but we did choose to have the windows open overnight. Staff lovely. Breakfast good quality but like a lot of buffet style ones food a bit cool. Overall would recommend 😁

Just had a lovely stay at this hotel. Room very spacious and clean. Bed very comfy. In a great location close to shops, bars and restaurants. 5 minute walk to beach. Staff all very friendly and helpful especially the two reception staff Anne and her male colleague. Already booked our next stay.

2nd time staying at this lovely hotel. Absolutely no complaints about this place. The rooms are spacious and well furnished including a really good fridge and even had a Dyson fan which was definitely needed as it was very warm. The restaurant and bar area are really nice and comfortable. The staff are really friendly on the bar and especially Claudine on Reception who appears to the most versatile member of staff as she Where's several hats. She is a real asset to that hotel and their sister bar over the road. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and plenty of choice plus juices. Will be definitely returning later in the year for another mini break.

Giverny was lovely and attentive, is a beautiful lady inside and out. The setting was stunning. She is so professional and friendly, made us feel so special and welcomed. Thank you Giverny for your wonderful service. We cannot wait to return for the best cocktails

We visited here and we decided to order some drinks. Drinks took a while to arrive. Ordered the cavalry and there was no beef, which was understandable for a Saturday. We decided to change our order to a steak. I ordered a steak Blu and my other family ordered a steak Pink. We specifically asked for no eggs but they arrived with eggs. Staff offered mixed vegetables, from the Calvary, which was kind. Steaks were tough however good flavour. Staff extremely kind and helpful, they were also extremely apologetic. Overall, good experience, and great staff, the service may have been poorer because it was slightly busy.

Sorry to hear the last manager Mark has left,he was very friendly,smart appearance,efficient, he was by far the best manager in years. Best wishes Mark from regular local bar customer.

Came for a friends birthday, on Wednesday, manager (lady) very snappy, young man behind bar was clueless yet got told been there for years!! Had been before and enjoyed it all!! Was going Saturday but not know. Had ordered a carvery but was closing only small piece of fatty gamon left so ask politely if could change my order got you have to pay, but had done or would not have token!! Overall would not recommend there attitudes. Tracey

The Bold is a lovely Hotel, very popular with non residents day and night, inside and out It's on an excellent location, near to all amenities Some car parking spaces round the back but you can pay for a space, with a discount at their sister hotel The Grand across the road if it's full All the Bar, Restaurant and reception staff were very warm and welcoming. The room was cosy, the bed comfy, the bathroom spacious, all with good facilities Breakfast was a very nice hot buffet, drinks machine and a cold selection with a toast machine The only draw back we found was that there was some road and revellers noise into the night that a bit of internal double glazing would have fixed and a lift to the bedrooms would be good It was good value for money We would definitely recommend staying there

Stayed in the Lords street hotel and had breakfast in their sister hotel The Bold it was so tasty, fresh and hot. Plenty of choice. The two staff were amazing, helpful, professional and looked very smart. Joao Tome and a lovely Scottish man (didn't get his name) worked very hard to clear tables and clean as soon as other diners left. We had extra poached eggs which compliments to the chief were perfectly soft. Going back for carvery

My Mother recently got married at the Bold. I must say the service, staff and hotel were amazing and they made it the most incredible wedding ever. I would like to say a special thank you to Tasha, who went above and beyond to help my partner and I with our little one. She did anything and everything to make our stay and day as good as it could be and was a best friend to little Finley. Thank you for everything and we are excited to pop up and see you all soon, as we are already planning a return trip! Tom, Sarah & Master Finley x

Stayed in April as a base to get to Aintree for the National. Great location with plenty of choices for food and bars. Shout out to the excellent Joao in the restaurant.

Fantastic place in a great location with clean rooms and lovely friendly staff, especially Joao Tome who looks after you at the buffet breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend.

My wife and myself booked a family room at the Bold hotel for the 15th March (Mothers day) to meet up with our family for that special day, who live in a small village near Southport. When I booked the room I completely was under the impression that it included breakfast. And In the meantime our daughter also booked a meal in their restaurant for our family of 5 people. Our room was then changed to another on our arrival, which I will admit was very nice with a large king size bed, but not separate beds as I requested.. The service in the restaurant that evening was terrible, I had to wander off to find someone to take our order (as another couple sat near us also had to do). When eventually our starters arrived the girl just banged then down and slid two of them down the table. The 5 of us all had different meals and if not cold all the meals were tasteless. My daughter saw the manager and complained, who then presented a reduction on the final bill. My wife and myself had traveled all the way from Leeds for that occasion. So overall the stay was a complete letdown.especially as our “new” room was on the third floor with NO lifts at the hotel. And then on the next morning just to finish the weekend off, we were then told breakfast wasn't included in the price, but at £12-50 each we could pay for one. Certainly not after the previous meal the evening before in the hotel. So we checked out and wandered all the way down the main Lord Street to the ONLY breakfast cafe open at 9am which was WETHERSPOONS. Most visitors to Southport do know the town has gone way down the scale as a holiday destination, but the few remaining hotels which are still trading, since the government took over quite a few to house the illegal dinghy people in, should try to make a special effort to get visitors to return. Overall not a very good experience of the Bold Hotel

We had booked to stay in the Bold Hotel a while ago as we where attending a family Party . I phoned the hotel approx 2 months ago to advise we needed a family room as our son had severe learning disability and also a wheelchair user . On arrival we discovered the hotel rooms were up 21 Stairs , with No lifts . I moaned (quite a lot ) and wasn't very happy to be honest . However the reception Manager, Amy , ( I think ) could not have done more to help us solve the problem , she went above and beyond . We were taken over to their sister hotel opposite and had a choice of several rooms , which where all very suitable . Our whole weekend could've have easily been spoilt . Amy dealt with us with professionalism , understanding & compassion , she is an absolute Credit to the hotel and such an asset . We were given a lovely complementary bottle of champagne , free breakfasts and on checkout we were advised they weren't going to charge us for our room !! The strength of the Bold hotel lies with the staff , everyone we encountered throughout our stay and family party seemed so happy to be working there which in this day and age is quite unusal

I would firstly like to say the decor in the restaurant has been renovated to a high standard and makes you feel very cosy. The food however did not meet my expectations. I booked online for an afternoon sitting as a Birthday treat for myself and my Daughter. Having gone on reviews I was looking forward to an edible and satisfying meal. I was hesitant to try the Carvery on a Monday knowing Sunday would have been the best time to try it from fresh. I wanted to serve myself but was told the chef was happy to do this, unfortunately the vegetables were slightly soggy and the meat was at the end of the joint so slightly dry. The Pizza I feel was far worse very stodgy and cheaply made. Because it was a celebration I did not want to cause a scene but I was very disappointed with the meal and no acknowledgement that i was celebrating. I therefore would give this a low score food wise.

Great stay, reception staff friendly, bed comfy, breakfast was very tasty made even more special by Joao Tome. He was very friendly and welcoming.

Just got back from a few days away staying at this hotel. We stay in a lot of hotel and I have to say this is up there with the best of them. Our room was amazing and very warm despite the cold February weather outside. The bed was extremely comfortable and the whole hotel was spotless. All the stay we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. Thomas our server at breakfast was extremely attentive and very pleasant. The breakfast was high quality. First day I had the full English which was gorgeous and a very good portion size. The 2nd morning I had the Eggs Benedict which again was gorgeous and probably one of the nicest I've had anywhere tbh. The bar area is nice and the bar prices very reasonable especially the afternoon prices before 6pm. Great location on the main street surrounded by lovely independent bars and restaurants and great independent shops and stores. We will definitely be returning either this summer or during the Christmas period.

Just checked out from our overnight stay. We coincided the night away to watch our beloved team Hereford play at Southport and a valentine stay. We stayed in room 23, the suit...it was fab!! It was brilliant from start to finish. Check in was super easy. Special mention to Norman on reception!! The meal in the evening was lovely. They were absolutely run off their feet.... but the service or food didn't falter. As we checked out we checked our bill and noticed we haven't got charged for our evening meal. A lot of people would just have driven home....as the weekend was so nice my husband went back into the hotel and paid the outstanding balance!. A special mention goes out to alpha cabs who kindly returned my husbands beanie hat to which he had left in the cab the night before...again great service. Thank you to you all for making it so special.. Shane our football team lost.... but unfortunately you can't buy a win!!

We had a great two day stay in The Bold Hotel, Southport (Friday to Sunday). Our first impression was the great welcome and professionalism from Reception Manager, Amy. Amy was fantastic and provided advice about places to visit and parking options. Amy also gave us choice and a clear explanation about our room options and she ensured we had the best room and the best rate available too. Thank you Amy! The room was good. Finished to a high standard and very quiet on the second floor. The buffet breakfast at the bold hotel is really good too with loads of options and served in a very nice dining area. All the staff were lovely. We were served by Tome at breakfast who is an absolute gentleman. Thank you to everyone at the Bold who made it a great trip! Martin, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Stayed Saturday night with my mum. Booked a deluxe king room and it was perfect. Huge room with sofa and decorated to a high standard. Rooms very warm so opened window. It was a freezing January weekend so can't complain about heat. Had drinks in the afternoon and evening and Sunday carvery and it was absolutely lovey. The roast beef was perfect. All staff at hotel were very friendly, especially Amy on reception, she's a credit to the hotel. Very informative about the area and so friendly. Thank you. Can't wait to return.

Went here for their new year's eve tribute night and it was brilliant. Lovely decorated room, food great and hot which is a rarity at some NYE parties. Staff great, very friendly and worked extremely hard. Brilliant night will definitely be back.

Fabulous stay, beautiful room (24) reception staff extremely cheerful and professional. The breakfast was good if a little cold but the lovely lady was all on her own, checking people in, replenishing and clearing tables etc etc etc. she did an amazing job. Receptionist contacted me to say I had left a mini pot of face cream which I thought went above and beyond having left all manner of things in hotels over the years and no one has ever called to tell me, so thank you!

We chose to do Christmas dinner out this year - and decided on the Bold Hotel. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal - from start to finish we were looked after, the serving team and management (shout out to Mark and Keeley who were absolutely fantastic) were all brilliant and made everything effortless! Food came out in good time and to a high standard, and the music entertainment was brilliant. It's so hard to get Christmas right for so many people - but hats off to the team for making our meal really enjoyable! Would recommend 100%. Thank You!

My family and I visited the Bold Hotel on Christmas Day and had a brilliant experience! We sat in the Red Rum Suite and the service was amazing. The staff were so attentive and friendly, and the food was amazing! The entertainment was perfect and was a lovely addition to the meal, I would really recommend it.

I stayed at The Bold Hotel using Best Western points and what a great experience it was. The room, although small, was very comfortable and had modern facilities finished to a high standard. It was however very warm in the room as the heating had been left on all day prior to my arrival so, even with the window open in December, it was too hot but not enough to detract from my overall experience. There was a mix-up on arrival with my booking but this was resolved quickly by the friendly receptionist on shift in the morning. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Wow!!! Christmas dinner steak burger. Absolutely to die for. All on a fresh brioche bun. Highly recommend all your classics on a burger for christmas

Bad from start to finish went as a couple for a carvary wine class chipped it cut my lip manager just changed glass and never asked was my cut lip ok,then bill came and a £15 pizza had been added good job my partner noticed this on the bill ,not a good experience at all

My family and I held my Aunts wake at the hotel. We just feel we must commend the staff for their tireless efforts to make sure our day was perfect. It's a sad time but we celebrated in a beautiful room. The food was excellent and the attentive service was second to none. Would definitely recommend for any occasion. Thank you to all concerned.

The decor is beautiful throughout the hotel and rooms. The staff are friendly. Everywhere was clean. The man on reception who helped us move was brilliant. He had even been helping with housekeeping due to staff shortages. We were given room 8, and it was beautiful, large, and right above the ladies' hand driers in the public bar area. They were so loud! (Please, management, just hear it for yourselves). We had no chance of sleeping, so we were kindly moved by the man on reception to room 8 at the back of the hotel. Not quite as fancy but much quieter. Breakfast was good, and we appreciated the parking. It was very central too.

We have been here many times for Sunday carvery. Always good food. However, today, goodness me! I booked a table a few days ago. We sat I. The bar for an hour then at the time booked approached the desk for our table. Yes they could see the table we booked but not available but they could put us back in the bar but on the table next to the one we had been previously sat at. When we said we didn't want to sit in the bar and we had booked for the restaurant, we were told that's all that's available. We even said we were prepared to wait. It was obvious that they weren't willing to let us wait. You go in the bar or ….the thing is there was not one appology. You know that really matters but no. But no you go in the bar because we are busy. Well guess what. There are other places to go and that's what we did. So bold lord street. You lost your act and I won't be going again nor will many other we know. Such a shame as it used to be a good place to go. Anyway, we went two doors down to chez moi. Got a good starter plus a roast dinner and wine cheaper than it would have been at the bold so I would recommend going there instead!

Great sophisticated atmosphere. Food was great and service too. Reasonable prices in the £15 to £20 range. Can recommend the fish and the wraps.

Very welcoming, the staff bent over backwards for us, nothing was any trouble. Very polite and friendly, the rooms were lovely and clean. would highly recommend.

Stayed here on a Friday night with my husband for a date night, booked a table in the restaurant it was absolutely gorgeous food, hot/fresh/ delicious, compliments to the chef, got the salt n pepper chicken sizzler hundred percent recommend 😋. The room was small, lovely, clean, comfortable and everything you need for a night. Breakfast in the morning time was also fabulous, would defo return for sure if staying in the area again.

Right happy about my stay here, were right nice, had a good time and my business partner also agreed that the service was second to none. I for one will be recommending.

Stayed here just 1 night to visit the Southport Comedy Festival at Victoria Park. Hard to find fault with our stay to be honest. The room and bathroom were modern and although no air conditioning in the room there was an "industrial quality" fan provided. The rooms are over the pub which is handy and the bar stays open till 2AM for residents! We had breakfast which was very good for the price and all staff both in the bar and the hotel were pleasant and genuinely happy to help. The hotel has its own small car park and is a great location in the town centre but too far away from the Victoria Park venue to walk so we ended up driving. Might be useful to know if planning to go to the Festival. Overall an enjoyable stay and would def book again.

Superb one night stay, every aspect of the stay was top notch, comfortable bed, spotless. Very friendly staff, 10 out of 10, and the breakfast was to die for.

What a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are beautiful. Cosy and well equipped for every comfort you could possibly want. The hotel is well situated with a car park too. Wow... Truly atrocious customer service. Rude, unhelpful and just plain lied. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

Nicely set out inside. Good value carvery at £6.50 for my wife. I had the steak and stilton burger, proper homemade burger, crispy bacon and just the right amount of chilli jam and stilton. The fries were ok but didn't really need them as burger really large. Staff were friendly and helpful

Arrived at hotel now. Was looking forward to enjoying the superior room that we'd booked for husband's birthday and a couple of days enjoying Southport. Have just had a lovely couple of hours lunch and shopping. Arrived at 3pm as told to, given keys to room 14, only to discover that it's at the back above the kitchen, and all you can hear from the room is all of the industrial extractor fans straight outside. Open the window (which you need to do as it's stifling hot inside) and the noise is absolutely horrendous. Sat here now in a basic room as that's all they have, receptionist has no answer to give about a refund for the lower grade room, just to wait till Amy the manager arrives in a couple of hours. Not at all impressed with the reception and the ability to be able to resolve this without being told we'd booked last superior room and that's what you've got.

Had a fantastic weekend away in the bold friendly staff lovely room we had a lovely meal in the restaurant nothing to fault!! We have stayed in other hotels in Southport this was the best by far

With a group of friends I went to Southport to play golf and we stayed in The Bold Hotel. It was a fantastic experience, we were made really welcome, the breakfast was excellent. The staff led by Kelsey were always smiling and went out of their way to make our visit a memorable one.

First time staying there and was very pleased, Room , food, staff, all very good and room rates were decent inc breakfast very reasonable, will be going again in a few months.

Found the hotel easily. The car park at the back was full but there were parking spaces on Seabank Rd right at the side of the hotel. You go up the stairs to reception. Very friendly guy on reception. My single room was lovely. Light and airy. Tea and coffee, hairdryer, iron, fan. Perfect. It was very clean. The window opened quite a way. Actual fresh air in a hotel room! The bed was really comfy too. The bathroom was big and light and with a power shower. Breakfast was great, especially for me being vegetarian. Lots of croissants, fresh fruit, cereals and yogurt. The cooked breakfast looked good too. The breakfast staff were lovely. Very helpful and efficient. The location is great. 5 mins walk and you're on the seafront. On Lord St there's lots of shops, bars and nice restaurants. Perfect. I think this is the best hotel I've stayed at, at an English seaside resort. I would definitely stay again. Can definitely recommend.

Beautifully located at the posh end of Lord Street. This hotel is very busy. Stayed in 5 different rooms. All clean and well decorated. If your lucky to get an upgrade, that's a real bonus. The carvery is as good as any. Downside is the bar prices are on the high side

This is our second stay at The Bold hotel. We had 3 rooms, 2 cosy doubles and I had a twin room for my son and I. Lovely hotel, great location and delicious breakfast. Reception staff for the hotel very nice and helpful. Breakfast staff also very friendly and food fresh and delicious. We had a lovely stay for one overnight stay. Sadly a bad experience with a bar staff member on the day leaving but I don't feel this is a reflection on the hotel or staff in general who are excellent . Would recommend this hotel for families, couples or friends, really does suit everyone.

To start, I do like this hotel, but... It is positioned as a high end hotel and most of the time it is it is one of the most expensive hotels in Southport. Staff are usually friendly and helpful but things do seem to be slipping. The receptionist would not consider a slightly early check-in and was then overwhelmed when a large number of guests arrived at 3pm to check-in. The information sheet was freshly printed and handed out on check-in, a sheet which advised guests that they would effectively be fined £5 per key card if they were not returned (I had staff at another hotel falling about laughing when I told them this, while not naming The Bold). Not what I would expect from a hotel that markets itself as being of high quality. Similarly I would not expect broken venetian blinds etc. in the rooms. It's a lovely hotel, not for people with mobility issues, and I would stay there again. It's clean, comfortable and friendly and the staff are usually helpful and friendly but it's not what it was.

Absolutely fantastic, the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, and great food (especially breakfast). We loved the location on Lord Street, just a nice stroll past shops and resturaunrs to get to Southport pier. When we return to Southport it will be back at The Bold Hotel. Stayed here many times. Beds comfortable and rooms spotless. Disappointed with the breakfast. We were told it was available until 10.30 am and went down for it at 9.45am. Everything was under heat lamps. Bit lazy from the chef. Even the toast was under lamps. It was rock hard as was the bacon and the black pudding. Beans luke warm, few fried eggs left that were ok but weren't offered an alternative poached egg like a couple that walked in around 10.15 am. Sausages were okay ish. Best part of the breakfast was the mushrooms. Maybe i should of had a mushroom sandwich. For £12 plus pound each i thought it was very poor and a lazy breakfast. Last time we stayed the waiter took our order and we had a fresh cooked breakfast to order and it was lovely. I don't like criticizing anywhere being in business myself but i have to be honest so hopefully next time it is better. I have left 4 stars for the hotel which is superb. It would have been 5 if i had gone elsewhere for a breakfast.

Chose the Bold Hotel based on the excellent T/A reviews and did it live up to its rating yes it did. Views maybe a bit deceptive from the outside but the moment you step onto the Hotel floor and meet the sparkling bubbly friendly receptionist you are transported into a different world from the one outside. Rooms a spacious, clean and well decorated, bed is super comfy with high class bedding and pillows, bathroom ultra modern and great fluffy white towels, fridge, hairdryer and large screen TV . Handy downstairs bar with food and the afternoon Happy Hour is a bonus. Well worthy of its great reviews Only downsides were limited onsite parking (did have a space but maybe difficult at other times there are alternatives though but always nice to be on site} and slightly low water pressure in the shower.

From first to last person I spoke to the staff we're so friendly and helpful. Room was lovely very clean and spacious. I had salt and pepper chicken sizzler in restaurant it was delicious breakfast was also lovely with a good choice. A very reasonably priced hotel definitely recommend

We stayed 3 nights B&B at The Bold Hotel and had the carvery on day 3 which was very nice. Our side room was fantastic and very plush and the staff were friendly and accommadating especially bubbly Claudia on reception who explained everything about the hotel and provided us with a large fan to combat the heat wave. The breakfast were great and hot with a big selection. This was our second time here and will certainly big back.

I want to start off by saying how helpful the staff are here. I booked through Booking.com and, unfortunately, selected the wrong dates for a non-refundable booking. When I contacted the hotel to apologize for my mistake and ask if it could be changed, they were incredibly helpful and moved the date of the booking without any issues! When we arrived, we were able to find a parking space behind the hotel, which was really convenient. Our room was ready when we checked in, but unfortunately, it was much smaller compared to the other rooms we've stayed in here. As a result, it felt a bit stuffy, but thankfully, they provided a large fan that helped a lot. If it hadn't been for the fan, I don't think we would've slept very comfortably! Overall, the stay was great, apart from the slightly disappointing room size. But I really appreciated how the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome.

It is very rare to walk in to a hotel and immediately feel at home.The rooms are very spacious and welcoming with the wow factor. Furnishings in the room high quality no expense spared. The bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in in a hotel. Dinner in the hotel was superb. We had the Sunday carvery from the meat to all the vegetables was perfectly done with succulent meat and a huge choice of vegetables . Breakfast the next morning was equally as good. I can happily say one of my favourite hotels in the world and I have stayed in many as a destination expert.

It was our first meal in their very nice restaurant and it was such a bargain price. We chose from the OAP carvery at a cost of £6.50 (one slice of meat), £9.50 for two courses and £12 for three courses. My starter was pate and chutney served in two small tubs which very nice but I didn't like the four pieces of a 'biscuit' which were extremely hard to bite and if I go again I would ask for some toasted bread. My husband had soup and a roll, then we had the carvery and chose a slice of turkey but it was a very thick slice of moist turkey with a nice selection of veg to go with it. We then both had sticky toffee pudding – gorgeous. It is certainly worth another visit.

My golfing mates & I traveled to England's "golf coast" and stayed at the Bold hotel for a week whilst we played 6 of the magnificent golf courses in the area. The Bold Hotel was wonderfully central, not only to our various golfing destinations but to the center of Southport. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The bar/restaurant area was very inviting and we spent many an hour enjoying a beer whilst reminiscing over our golf games. The staff was wonderful, in particular Howard was exceptional. He went out of his way to accommodate our changing needs and was just a star. To be fair, all the staff were wonderful. Highly recommended!

Brilliant Stay at the Bold Beautiful hotel, great location, lots of selection for breakfast, really nice room, the staff was very helpful, especially Howard on reception, he was very pleasant and helpful went the extra mile Great outside area for drinks, we visited the sister hotel over the road The lord Street, also very nice. Next door was the Grand, we visited the new bar on the 3rd floor with outdoor terrace, beautiful furnishings, great vibe, Jay the manager was very accommodating and got us a table outside Overall our stay was fantastic and yes I will return

Disappointed with the food experience . The carvery was very disappointing. The vegetables were stewed and the meats had been left standing all day. The public keep the carvery going. The chef was abrupt. Didn't seem to care. He looked very down. Unfortunately won't eat out here again. Its quite expensive. The hotel was better years ago. The restaurant was better years ago. I had such high expectations for this establishment. Sadly you let me down.

Arrived extremely late to be greeted by very hospitable and helpful Stephen covering night desk. Nice atmosphere very friendly staff - wish we'd arrived earlier ! Room comfortable and clean with all the extras you'd expect. Breakfast was reasonable with full English on offer or continental.

Ate breakfast here 6 days in a row. Joao Tome is hands-down the best server I've ever had at breakfast. He's always friendly, attentive, and remembers the little details that make the experience feel personal and welcoming. Joao starts the day off right every time—can't recommend him enough!

We booked a small wedding reception in the side space of the Bold. It was a short notice booking but the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We had a perfect day in the sunshine that couldn't have gone any better. The Bold is beautiful, the food and drinks are top quality and the staff are amazing. Definitely worth a visit to stay, eat or just for a drink.

Lovely room, very spacious, booked.again. had carvery, never had a carvery where they put everything on for you. I had a yorkshire pudding that looked not good. Hubby was behind me and the chef said I will get fresh out as they aren't very good. Won't do a carvery again.

We stayed here once with the family, and my heart is still full of wonderful memories. This time around was just me and my partner, celebrating my 30th birthday, we stayed at Lord Street hotel and Cilla kindly advised us to upgrade our room and add breakfast — and we're so glad we did. The coffee was excellent, and the buffet breakfast was delicious and full of flavour. A truly lovely experience from start to finish.

We got married at the bold hotel on the 29.5.2025 and honestly from start to finish we couldn't not have asked for more. It was the most perfect day we could have imagined. Every single person enjoyed themselves start to finish, and complimented every single detail of the day. The staff were absolutely brilliant and so helpful, and made the day that little bit more enjoyable even down to helping with the children throughout the day. The food was out of this world, they cooked for 49 people and every single meal was cooked to perfection. People have said it was the best wedding food they have ever tasted. The atmosphere all day was just outstanding and I have the staff to thank for that. Even down to keeping me (the bride) calm throughout the day. There isn't a single thing we would change about the day! All our friends and family stayed the night before and even the day before and day after they were so helpful and making sure we had the best time. I would recommend the bold to every single person thinking of getting married there. It will always hold a special place in our hearts!!

You just could find a better location. The hotel itself is lovely. Very clean and always looks lively. Stayed many, many times and I would highly recommend this hotel. Have sampled the Sunday roast dinners a few times . And just like the hotel spot on

Visited this afternoon for lunch with family between 1.00pm - 3.00pm. & sat in the bay window. The waiter took an age to come over for our food order and had no customer service skills whatsoever infact he was downright rude. The barman brought our drinks over & was extremely courteous - maybe he could give the waiter some lessons in manners. The food was great & we all enjoyed our chosen meals but the ignorant waiter put a dampener on the experience. Would have complained aas we left but the manager was nowhere to be seen.

All staff pleasant and efficient. Room recently refurbished. Breakfast copious - if not quite as described on the menu. Couldn't be better located. Good value. BUT there is no lift and all rooms are upstairs- mine was on second floor (plus mezzanines) so it is not recommended for anyone with mobility issues (such as my dodgy knees).

Myself and partner have stayed at the bold on several occasions…. This booking for one night Saturday 26th April was a surprise for my birthday from my partner… Amy and the staff decorated the room with rose petals on the bed, balloons and banners, cake and birthday card…breakfast was amazing as ever… even the staff remembered us from last year… on the Sunday 27 April we had a meal with the family there was 6 adults and 3 children… some ordered off main menu whilst 6 of us ordered the carvery… food was 5 stars plus…. Room was also 5 stars plus… lovely location for shopping and entertainment… defo be back soon maybe June,,,, Amy you are a star… thank you look forward to seeing you soon

Disgusted when having a drink to watch a dog owner put food on the table for the dog to eat the food of the table ,then the dog spat it out onto the table. shame because it is a very nice place. wont be going again. they really should not allow dogs where there is food being served

Only went for a meal Mikey was our server who was very friendly and polite could not recommend the food any more than I can food and drink where on point we will definitely come back again at some point as we only stopped bye on the of chance can't say anything better than the way we treated

We are currently stopping at the bold hotel southport firstly the location is prime a bar for everyone's needs live music sports bar across the road bars restaurants close by but on that point I strongly suggest eating at the bold hotel. An array of dishes tasty and very generous portions cooked fresh a selection of beers wines ect reasonably priced.but not only that the staff were amazing friendly bubbly chatty they could not do enough for us it just added to the experience we are surely buzzing.for breakfast we had the pleasure of Joao Tome who seated us and run through the breakfast and drinks selection who was very attentive to our needs well spoken and funny but professional at the same time . Tommy the night porter brilliant young lad working hard thankyou for your help Along with Howard and the reception manager ,Head chef and all the staff keep up the good work and best wishes for future business . Cannot fault this hotel. The reception staff, Amy and Howard were really helpful, polite and friendly. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Good atmosphere is the bar area, so we didn't feel the need to go to other pubs at night. Breakfast was delicious and hot! my only niggle was the fire door opposite our room (18) which woke me up a few times, as it squeaked when opened and banged shut. Stayed for 3 days and will definitely stay again.

Really lovely stay at The Bold Hotel, went with my 8 year old son to see some friends. Amy on reception was so lovely, friendly and helpful, called the day before our stay to confirm all the details of our stay, and was on hand for whatever we needed whilst we were there. We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, was served by Josh both times and again couldn't fault the service at all. I'm a coeliac and between Amy and Josh I felt really well looked after, and the chef was extremely accommodating for me. The food was lovely, my son said the cheese and tomato pasta was the best he's ever eaten, and our breakfasts were huge and really lovely. The cost of the hotel was also so reasonable, for the price I was expecting alot worse, we will definitely be looking to stay here again in the future

We visited The Bold over the weekend. Great place, and a really good non-smoking area at the front of the hotel to enjoy the sunshine. Very clean inside and brilliant service and staff. Only gave it 3 stars though as it's very expensive, over £16 for a pint and a glass (yes, a glass) of Prosecco. Don't think we'll be going back with those prices, but still a very nice place.

me and my husband came in for tea, was a lovely place and lovely food can't fault that however there's two staff looks to be a manager and a younger staff member. we was waiting to pay and they was flerting with each other, when had no apologie about the wait the girl messed up our order and laughed it off with him both very unprofessional behaviour.

This was the second time we have stayed at the bold and this time was as good if not better than before, The hotel is nicely located and well run all the staff are excellent and make you feel very welcome Tommy at breakfast was very good and helpful with all the clients. We enjoyed the 2 night stay and look forward to returning again soon.

Positives: Nice size room with couch Comfy large bed Shower a good size Plenty of wardrobe space Room cleaned during our stay( we were there for 2 nights) Iron provided-if you ask reception they will provide you with an ironing board Special thanks to Amy on reception who was very helpful and accommodating. No mat in shower cubicle so it can be a bit slippy- no hand rails either

We were greeted by staff when we came into the bar restaurant area and then seated accordingly. We chose the bottomless brunch menu and were discussing what to choose from until they brought over the whole menu on a platter. All of the food was amazing, Chloe served us and made sure our drinks didn't run empty. Great night and great service. Thanks Chloe!!!

Clean, smart room, if a little too "cosy", as that equals small. But, it was fine for one night for us. Very comfortable bed. All the staff were very helpful and welcoming. No pressure to vacate, and the hotel car park was great value at £5 for 24 hours. We'd definitely stay there again.

I had a fantastic time at The Bold Hotel in Southport. The food was exceptional. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I had a great experience from start to finish and would definitely recommend visiting, for a drink, some food or an overnight stay.

We went for a carvery roast on Sunday and as always - there was so much choice - (even for veggies which you don't find in many places) The staff are so helpful and even at busy times nothing was too much trouble for them and the service was amazing. I wouldn't hesitate and already have recommended The Bold to many people and will definitely be returning - excellent !

We used to come here before it changed to carvery a few years ago and thought we would give it a go. Oh wow its was amazing decent prices for food and drink. People serving were so attentive and friendly but not like the hovered over you. Great atmosphere would definitely be returning.

We have been to the Bold Hotel several times and I have given 4 stars on the basis that we have always had a decent meal, good ingredients, tasty and actually great value for money, as this meal was. On this visit though, in what was a really busy restaurant as usual there was apparently only one person serving meals. This meant a long wait for food although as we had drinks we didn't mind at that point. However, when the waitress seemingly disappeared and did not return, with no-one at the bar either, we and the couple at the next table decided to leave. We had anticipated having a dessert and coffee but no-one bothered to ask if we'd like anything else (and in fact there was no-one we could ask). We eventually went to the bar to pay and after a wait, the barman returned from an errand upstairs. The couple next to us left without ordering, leaving us all to speculate how much revenue was being lost. We went further down the road for coffee. I realise many places are struggling to staff their venues but this lack of customer service on this occasion was disappointing. The Bold Hotel is conveniently situated on Lord St and usually offers friendly service and decent food so hopefully this was a one-off.

We stopped off for some lunch whilst visiting Southport for the day. I ordered the chilli chicken wrap with fries and my husband and dad ordered Ham, egg and chips. Simple food right? We waited so long for our food and when it finally arrived my chilli chicken wrap was so dry and no chilli sauce to be found, the chicken was over cooked too. The ham on the other 2 plates were as tough as old boots with over cooked eggs. Needless to say, we won't be returning

Friendly and helpful staff especially Howard and Kelsie on reception very quickly responded to an issue we had with speed and efficiency also Tommy in the restaurant made every meal a pleasure all in all a lovely place to stay beautiful room will definitely be back.

Hotel atmosphere was lovely and in a fab location to try lots of bars. Room was immaculate and the bathroom too. Room was decorated very elegantly. Howard on reception was really friendly and helpful. Told him it was a stay for my partners birthday and when we got back there was a piece of cheesecake in our room with Happy Birthday written on the plate. What a lovely gesture. The night porter was lovely too and it was nice being able to get a late drink when the local bars near to the hotel had closed. all the other staff we met were very friendly too. Would have liked more choice for the continental breakfast but the cooked breakfast was freshly made and was amazing and tasty. A bottle of water in the fridge for guests could be a suggestion. We tried a few bars near the hotel and they were all good, the corridor, gingers, mavericks and the oast house.

I won't even put anything negative about this amazing place more than a stay more of a welcome the staff absolutely give you the best treatment I can name Howard on reception at first he is an amazing host and all of the staff in the eatery have excellent skills in customer service and they conversate with you make you feel comfortable in every way food is out of this world cooked to perfection by the staff and music is on to fuse with the environment Front and back of house work hard to multitask I'm definitely returning as a new founded stay rooms are clean to high quality standards there is so much to offer when you stay thank you and a big happy birthday to HOWARD X

Had a Carvery here. Plenty of options of the Veg which was Beautiful, Had the Turkey & Pork was so lovely. One of the best Carverys ive had for a long time. Would definitely Return . Staff very pleasant. Great coffee too. Cosy surroundings. Highly reccomended. Had the Regular carvery £10.50. Well worth it , very plentiful.

Once again, we have had a fabulous stay at this boutique hotel. Room 11 , spotless and warm and welcoming. Great nights sleep too . We chose to eat in the hotel tonight before watching the football across the road at the sports bar , steak and the salmon were superb Breakfast the following morning equally as good . The staff are welcoming ,helped us with our luggage on arrival, reception staff friendly, bar staff ,and our lovely morning breakfast host equally as friendly , spoke to us about how he like his scrambled eggs at home with a touch of honey ?. We had cocktails at The Grand also , again opulence at its best ?, cocktails were excellent value. Untill next time ....? Thank you , my birthday stay was fab ? x

Went in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon . Quite busy without being packed , food good quality and won't break the bank highly recommend the dessert menu ... Wii definitely be back.. disabled toilet however needs better signage and cleaning .

Can't attend the Ricky Tomlinson event Staff at the bar were rude, arrogant and disrespectful and had, in my opinion, an attitude problem Dogs everywhere I understand this is policy in many hotels locally but, it knocked me sick seeing them scratching their a….s on the carpet- MINGING!!!!!!!!!! The organiser (Female) directing guests to there seats was not only rude but quite insulting Food overpriced, service lousy Would never return here

My husband and I received a 1 night stay at the Bold Hotel as a Christmas gift. It included a 3 course evening meal and breakfast the next day. Chloe who greeted us at reception was fabulous, she couldn't do enough for us. She checked us in straight away and made us feel so at ease. We were waited on hand and foot throughout our stay by the incredible staff at The Bold and The Grand, their sister hotel. We booked ahead for tickets to The Grands Asa Murphy and Ricky Tomlinson as an added extra to our stay. It was worth every penny, what an enjoyable evening had by all. We will definitely be back again and recommending you to all our friends and family. Thank you all again for the best time!

Arrived around 2pm on Fri 31/01/25 The reception is thru the bar and up a flight of stairs.Lovely reception team.Our room was up another 2 fights of stairs.No lift as its a listed building,39 steps in all.Room beautiful and boutique. Fridge,iron,kettle,fan,heater,TV, blackout curtains and a window that opens.decorated beautifully. Spotlessly clean. Large bathroom with over bath drencher shower.my only criticism, is it could have done with a grab rail,to help getting in and out of the bath.The towels nice and big,bonus for a curvy girl.Didnt have a main meal,but had bar food..Nice and fresh.Reasonably priced food and drinks.Bar staff excellent and attentive.Breakfast staff very polite and also attentive,nothing too much trouble.Breakfast,buffet style,again very nice,fresh mushrooms and fresh tomatoes,not the horrible tinned stuff,the sausages were delicious, very tasty locally sourced.We had an excellent stay,we would highly recommend this hotel,even the lack of a lift didn't put us off.Cant wait to revisit..

I went to the bold hotel last nights with a few of my friends and was served by Chloe. I Had a great night this was because the food was fantastic and the service was great thanks to Chloe. Overall I had a great experience and a lovely night. Definitely be returning soon.

We go to the Bold for their Carvery every Thursday, which I can highly recommend. All the staff greet their customers with a smile, but I want to give a special mention to Chloe, who always looks after us and nothing is too much trouble. Chloe is part of the reason we keep going back.

Lunchtime meal visit - January '25 The upside: We received a very warm welcome from staff at The Bold Hotel in particular Michael, who went out of his way to accommodate us with his friendly and professional manner and prompt service. For that I am most grateful and appreciative. Downside: The ONLY vegetarian option on offer from the menu for lunch was a very basic, sad-looking cheese sandwich served on stale, sliced white bread for which I was charged approximately the same price as the cost of the meat-based carvery/buffet offering being enjoyed by others in our party. Come on guys? This is 2025 not 1975. Surely you can come up with a few more enterprising Vegetarian options - incidentally, Vegan is a big thing too by the way now as I am sure you must be aware. Numerous places in the town have for some time been offering such alternatives at various times of the day and night. You must be aware of this? ‘nuff said. I hope tone able to return to The Bold Hotel at some point and trust that when I do all that I have highlighted will have been taken on board for consideration and future action by the management such that various dietary requirements can be accommodated and enjoyed alongside the excellent service we received. great service again we stopped over on Friday night with our 15 and 17 year old daughters they loved the carvery .The staff are all amazing ,They set up a Z bed free of charge .We have stopped here nearly a dozen times now and will returning again in the next few months .The breakfasts are the best

Very tasty carvery and lovely service by our lovely waiter Michael. His suit was particularly classy. The meat was cooked perfectly and a variety of options to create a carvery. My grandad says it's the cheapest good meal he's ever had. He's requesting the prices be put up.

Lovely room , very attentive staff , had the carvery , which was ok, only bug bear was server puts the veg on your plate which was piled on top of each other , would have preferred to put it on plate myself, Breakfast was lovely and served by a very helpful waiter

Very nice meal, fish and chips were excellent! The fish was extremely fresh and the burger was amazing. Portions were a good size, more than enough. Michael who served us, was really attentive and friendly. Was a lovely treat for a Monday night, would highly recommend.

Just want to say a massive thank you to the bar manager who wouldn't let us wait at the bar for a few minutes until a dog friendly table became free. We spent £100 at another place on food and drink instead. Screaming kids running riot around the place is apparently ok. Well behaved small dogs is not.

This is just a carvery review not accommodation. Waited too long for chef to appear to serve food no one else waiting. Spuds tough unable to cut only In half, the beef was tough had to use steak knife still couldn't cut it so had to leave it only 3 meat choices turkey had deep pink pieces not sure if this is cooked but have always been advised don't eat pink turkey. No helping yourself 3 spuds on standard plate 14.00 definitely won't eat here again.

We popped in yesterday to try the carvery. 4 family members. Around 6pm. There are 3 different sizes, OAP small plate, standard and large. We had the standard plates at £10.50. Bit disappointing, to be honest. Choice of 3 meats, but all were pretty dry, as though they'd been under the heated lights all day. Same with the roasties. Hard and dry. Same with the Yorkies. Oddly, you don't serve yourself with the veg, unlike other carveries we've tried. Maybe you do on busy days? On the plus side, there was a large range of veg, probably the biggest variety I've had at a carvery. The veg was nice (in pots rather than under the hot lights). Mash soft and buttery. A few sauces available too. No cauliflower cheese, disappointing. I imagine if you arrive when the meats and spuds are freshly served, it would be delicious. Though I wouldn't have thought that 6pm was too late to expect fresh food. But nothing to complain about, just not outstanding with the dried up food. The restaurant and bar are very nicely presented. Lots of dark wood, well lit, with an equine theme. Comfy couches. A pleasant ambience. The staff were absolutely lovely. They were attentive, polite and a pleasure to meet. A real asset to the hotel. I'd go back to try the other items on the menu, just to see if the dry carvery was a one-off and we just got unlucky.

Called in for food on bitter cold afternoon. All enjoyed hot carvery at 4.00pm and then desert. Lovely relaxing environment with pleasant staff and cosy corners. The manager Michael could not have done more to oblige us and make us welcome.

Had a great night at the Freddie Mercury performances, really good fun & enjoyed the variety of songs looking forward to another even soon. Staff excellent good service & very friendly i would definitely recommend considering attending future events.

Was at the Bold for my friends 60th Birthday Party on Saturday 4th Jan, it was absolutely perfect from all the bar staff, food was amazing, events management did a superb job would highly recommend the Bold for any occasion Margaret and Bryan

We hired out the Red Rum function room for my Wifes 60th birthday. From start to finish, the event team went over and above planning and catering for the whole evening. Everything was fantastic. The venue was stunning. The staff were amazing. The food was sensational. There was even a dedicated taxi line for guests to phone and get priority booking. Well done the Bold Hotel.

No cask ale over the New Year Celebrations. The main bar has four hand pumps for cask ales and sometimes if lucky two pumps are in operation serving excellent quality well kept beers. Unfortunately, they seem to have a problem with continuity of supply in keeping two real ales on because many times there is no real ale available at all and it can be a number of days before it reappears. This is extremely disappointing because the hotel bar is getting a good reputation for the real ale quality when available. If a pub was run this way it would be closed in no time with customers taking their trade elsewhere. Ivor Cobon.

Me & my fiancé stayed at this hotel for the first time for two nights over new years, from check in to check out everything was spot on! Amazing staff. So kind and helpful, the room was absolutely beautiful, amazing decor and the bed was so comfy. the breakfast was amazing. We also had dinner in the restaurant the food was to die for. Such an amazing carvery. Would 100% recommend and will be coming back! Thank you Bold staff for such a lovely new years!

Visited here with two friends last night (20th Dec) for meal and entertainment. From being called into the dining area, we had a very long wait until our starters were served. There was around 20/30 minutes to then wait for our main course, during which time guests had started to dance whilst waiting. Main course eventually arrived, and another long wait for dessert. Food tasty and served by young, pleasant staff. The DJ played the music too loud whilst we were eating. We couldn't hear each other speaking. We asked him a couple of times to reduce the sound. which he did for about 30 seconds, and turned the volume up again. Many people were saying the music was too loud. Whilst eating, perhaps it would be a good idea to just having music in the background on a lower volume? Then the entertainment Freddie Mercury tribute came on ?‍♀️. Oh dear, the evening became worse! He sang out of tune, the backing tracks were played too loudly and sounded distorted, he was getting screeching feedback from his microphone. I've seen a lot of ‘Freddie' tribute bands, and this was the worst! We left half way through his performance. The TinaTurner one we saw at The Bold last year was brilliant.

We returned to the Bold, having previously had a great night out at their Tom Jones Tribute evening. Sadly, our experience last night was not so great. Having been charged an extra £20 a head, our expectations were high but sadly not fulfilled. The service at the bar was particularly slow as they only had one person serving, meaning our food was going cold whilst waiting. In fairness, when I pointed this out to a member of the staff, she made sure someone came to serve. The food wasn't to the previous excellent standard, and there was a long delay in bringing out the dessert. The Freddie Mercury tribute was not good, and the music was extremely loud, so much so we left early.

We went in on Saturday night! What an atmosphere we were served all night by Chloe and nothing was too much trouble we enjoyed a great 3 courses meal! Chloe & josh are a real credit to the company so keep up the good work. We will be back certainly thanks again and a merry Christmas ?

I requested a dubble gin no ice no fruit just like a shot I got nothing like it I got ice fruit not just once but twice ok they apologised but that's not the point it ruined my anniversary and don't get me started on the food the pie was so disgusting I could not eat it and there was a table spoon of peas it was sad I would not go there ever again

Stayed in superior room well dont, its on the front of the building it has a speaker outside that plays very loud, the bay window is not double glazed therefore the traffic noise all night long is awful its so loud the room its self is average the shower is powerless with no pressure at all. Meal in the evening, service terrible waited a while for starters the mains two out of four of us didnt eat it my carvery was cold friends chicken was over cooked it was that hard she couldnt cut it best thing about it the puddings but yet again waited ages sorry we wouldnt recommend

Forget Sunday - every day should be a Carvery day. The Bold Hotel on Lord Street in Southport is running an OAP Carvery deal this winter for £6.50 per person; or two courses for £9.50; or three courses for £12 (Monday to Friday 12pm-7pm). There are different places of plate size available for non pensioners depending on your appetite, as well as a regular menu. The meats are fresh, hot, slow roasted and tender; there was turkey and gammon available when we went, and a different selection on different days. It's a sign of a good carvery when you could happily eat a plate of veg is that's good! Carrot, parsnip, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, there was lots to choose from. Good quality gravy too which is always a clincher. Did not have room for tea afterwards. Lovely team in The Bold too and the restaurant is looking fantastic after its extensive renovation earlier this year. They've also launched the Carvery Wrap and the Carvery Sandwich, so looking forward to giving those a try.

Took my girls to the afternoon tea with Elsa on 30th Nov. They had an absolutely amazing time, From the food to Elsa coming in and singing with them and chatting to them made them feel so special. Thank you Bold staff for giving them such a special day!

Had a fantastic stay at the Bold hotel! This was our second stay and would absolutely recommend. Paul & Jordan made some fantastic cocktails and their service was friendly and professional. Requested room with bath and staff were able to accommodate this.

We visited on a lunch time mid-week and enjoyed a carvery. Lots of choice available and very tasty. Service was very friendly and efficient. Both the exterior and interior looked stunning, very luxurious with lots of attention to detail. Very good value for money!

I booked this 48 hours beforehand through booking.com very easy to do. 24 hours before my stay I got a phone call to say could I bring a credit card and photo id with me and they upgraded my room from a single to a deluxe room. On arrival reception staff were very friendly and attentive (asked me if the music from the opposite room was bothering me…which it wasn't!). Room was comfortable but the shower was not the best! Bed was huge and pretty comfy. Breakfast was good. I'd stay here again ?

Fabulous night of festive entertainment, food and fireworks at The Bold Hotel in Southport last night. ? It was the best fireworks display, with the fireworks looking amazing against the backdrop of Lord Street. Thank you to all the lovely staff who have been there, especially to Kelsie. xx

We attended the ‘Light up the Sky' event last night with a group of friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely food and extra treats for the kids, excellent singer and a really impressive fireworks display to end the night. We loved the really family friendly fun atmosphere throughout the evening.

Wow , wow , wow what an amazing , well organised the night was last night . We went with a large group of friends and we all had the most amazing night . The food was incredible and the singer was a lovely touch . It was absolutely lovely to be able to sit outside in the warm . The event was packed but the amazing , friendly staff dealt with it brilliantly . The firework display was one of the best we have ever seen with no expense spared . After such challenging times with recent events in Southport this event brought the whole community together with lots of happy , happy children running around and dancing . It was so lovely to see Lord street busy , lined with lots and lots of people enjoying the fire works together . This is exactly what our town needed and you absolutely smashed it so thank you . What would our town do without this amazing hotel group and its events you do really make it lovely for everyone . We went to the festive event last night, the singer was wonderful and the children were up dancing! The fireworks were amazing and really topped the night off! Lovely food which was demolished by my 6 year old! Great event, friendly staff and lovely venue. Well done Kelcie and team for putting this night on!

The Bold Hotel absolutely nailed it with their festive evening! The terrace was filled with holiday magic, and the atmosphere was so inviting. Chloe made our night extra special—she was so attentive, making sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. It was clear she really cares about the guests, especially the little ones! The food was a highlight! The massive Yorkshire puddings were loaded with goodness, and the crepes and donuts were a delicious treat for the whole family. Such a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season. Huge thanks to Chloe and the team for an unforgettable night! We'll definitely be back soon! ?

Had a fantastic evening meal and Tom Jones tribute night. The hotel bar and function room areas are clean and bright. The function room where tribute was playing was set out like a wedding, really lovely decor and ambience. Food was good, tasty and hot. Drinks reasonably priced and Tom Jones was really good. Had a great night of dancing, would definitely recommend any of the tribute nights.

Had a little weekend away at The Bold following a recommendation by friends. Can't speak highly enough of the hotel, the staff the food. Breakfast and dinner was great. Nothing was too much trouble, really enjoyed our stay and will be returning with friends for the Elton John show in December.

An evening bottomless brunch at 7pm on a Saturday night for 90 minutes which consisted of an unlimited selection of tasty cocktails, house spirits and wine accompanied by a Spanish tapas inspired board … the food was delicious and the drinks were great. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was enhanced with a live singer, there is plenty of space for large groups and tables and the location of the bold is central to lots of other bars on lord street. Over all would reccomend the bottomless brunch experience.

Carvery Very disappointing ordered 2 carverys went to choose food but was told Can T help myself, isn't that what carvery is, can have as much as you like, when being served feels like being watched unable to pick which size roast potatoes you like, make sure stir gravy so no lumps , never been to a carvery like it and been to loads especially greene king

Week commencing 16th September we went twice for a carvery at lunchtime. The first occasion was great the place was buzzing they were very busy, meat tender and you helped yourself to veg etc so my food hot and very nice. Second visit on Friday 20th September 2024, at about 12.45pm it was not so pleasurable, the pork was dry and hard to chew, veg was all covered and the chef insisted that he put the veg on the plate. One of the chef's questions was 'do you want stuffing' by the time he had taken all the lids off the veg and then replaced the lids my food was almost cold as the plates were cold to start with. Inconsistent quality, pay your money and take your chance.

Visited the Bold for an evening meal - staying just across the road in the best western. The steak and red wine pie was the best I've ever tasted. Food was red hot and well presented. The waitress was amazing, very knowledgeable about the menu and wines on offer. Lovely atmosphere inside, bit of a boutique feel. Reasonable priced food and drink. Dropped one star as the triple cooked chips let it down - these were mainly scrap ends, a bit chewy/stale tasting, would have said these were supermarket frozen chips, however everything else was perfect.

The hotel downstairs (bar/restaurant) was really nice and had great food at a good price. The upstairs was very boutique and looked awesome. Nathan checked me and my colleague into our rooms and he was great and friendly, told us about that hotel and others in the group for corporate prices (this was business) great guy and lovely hotel, would highly recommend

We visited today for our wedding anniversary, They gave us a complimentary upgrade and left a lovely cake wishing us happy anniversary in our room, chloe checked us in and omg she was so lovely. Myself and husband worked in hospitalty and hotels for years and having this welcome really makes your stay. She made us laugh and comfortable the minute we arrived. Loved listening to the live music and really enjoy our stay. Thankyou to all staff. We will be back. :)

Stayed at the Lord Street Hotel and wanted to try the food at The Bold. There is a great choice of beers etc and the cocktails were great and a good price. The carvery was hot and fresh and very generous portions. The sandwich served with fries was the same, lovely ingredients and a good portion. Nice seating areas for dining both inside and outside. Definitely worth trying if you are in Southport!

Stayed for a 2 night break and can honestly say what a great experience! The staff go above and beyond to ensure your stay is a comfortable and valued one. From check in by the lovely Amy, who attended to our every need, to Erica who made our dining experience a great one, food is beautiful and ate dinner in each night, also must mention our breakfast server ,a Hungarian lady who is a breath of fresh air! Rooms are spotless, bed so comfortable! All in all will be back in a heartbeat, as felt truly valued as a customer. Thank you everyone at Bold Hotel !?

Had lunch with old work colleagues today at The Bold and we went for the carvery. It never disappoints, 3 meats to choose from a large variety of veg to choose from. We had the large size and it was delicious. Kelsie, the hotel manager checked up on us with the nicest smile and Ton was very professional and made sure we are looked after and well fed. I had the lemon tart for dessert. Beautiful presented and very tasty.

Carvery was absolutely fabulous, full selection of vegetables cooked to perfection, three different meats turkey roasted gammon, roasted beef brisket absolutely delicious, every sauce you could want for on your carvery, mint gravy and red wine gravy. If you like a hearty roast dinner cooked to perfection book early as we could only get a 12.15 table as the rest was taken. The two chefs that served us where brilliant and pleasant who took great pride in their work and you could tell they wanted us to enjoy it and come back another day , I don't think I've ever had a roast dinner as good anywhere. This is a really nice hotel. Very clean. Very nice food and friendly staff. Situated in a good position on Lord Street. Would highly recommend staying here. We have stayed lots of times and never disappointed Very comfortable relaxed atmosphere

Very nice room, and should be at the price paid (£180), however no double glazing and seeing as it fronted onto busy Lord street this is an issue. Also no aircon and would not open a window because of the noise. Buffet breakfast, so no choice of how you want your eggs, and luke warm. The thing that rankled most however, is the policy of only large wine measures. My wife wanted a glass of Malbec, but was told only a large was available. I thought perhaps they only had small bottles, but no a 75ml bottle was poured into a measure. When I enquired the reason why I was told it was 'management policy'. No issues with the staff who, apart from the receptionist when we arrived were friendly, polite and helpful.

Great place to sit outside having a couple of beers with friends. The sun is shining and the tunes are summery and funky. Staff are helpful and friendly and it's a good spot to sit and relax. Highly recommend to try. Good for families and a varied menu.

Food was excellent, the carvery is second to none. All staff were excellent, polite friendly, professional great service. The Bold has a lovely atmosphere and great decor. Highly recommended for a meal or just a drink, definitely a place to visit.

Absolutely perfect stay! And Amy was amazing. She was so helpful and friendly. The best receptionist I've come across by far. Nothing was too much trouble. We chose the bold as our wedding venue and we are so so happy that we did. There was nothing that we would change from the day, everything went so smoothly and was just everything that we wanted and imagined! All the guests said how amazing the food was, the service, the staff, the layout.. just everything was amazing. Even before hand, the run up to the wedding- Erin was great, the communication was great.. she made wedding planning an exciting and stress free experience. My husband and I went on a Tuesday night just for food. It was relatively quiet at around 6pm and we were sadly caught between the change over from carvery to evening meal. Which didn't really impact anything other than maybe a little long wait time but not by much. We ordered the chicken gougons and garlic bread with cheese to start. Honestly that could have been a meal in itself. The garlic bread was in a pizza style lovely crispy and thin. The chicken was beautifully cooked and seared on the outside accompanied with a really tasty smoky BBQ sauce. For mains my husband had the bacon burger that came with two patties which looked to be home made. He throughly enjoyed the burger although said the chilli jam was very strong and slightly over powering. The sales fries which came with both of our meals were amazing. I had the halloumi burger and it was the best halloumi burger I have ever eaten! The sauce was a really nice spare rib type glaze. We sadly couldn't eat all of our mains after the starter so we kindly asked for take away containers to take the rest home which they happily provided. Would definetly eat her again.

We are so delighted that we chose to celebrate our daughter's special birthday party at The Red Rum Suite within the Bold Hotel Southport. The room is beautifully decorated and perfect for a private party. The decor is sumptuous and extremely clean. Every single member of staff was professional, helpful and responsive. Special thanks to Erica, Erin and Cila. Every single member of staff was wonderful and our expectations were exceeded in all respects. The buffet food was absolutely delicious and all of our friends commented on this. We had several dietary requirements, all of which were catered for perfectly and those guests were extremely happy too. We would highly recommend holding a special event at The Red Rum Suite to anybody! Thank you so much to all at The Bold Hotel for making our event so special and memorable.

Very friendly staff. Hotel has a lovely vibe about it. Room was very nice with a huge bathroom and excellent shower. Breakfast was good on our first day but disappointing on the second. A special thank you to Amy and Nat who were super helpful. We would definitely return.

Firstly, the hotel is a lovely building and the rooms are very nice, comfortable and clean as is the public bar and eating areas. The ladies on hotel reception were absolutely brilliant as was the breakfast waiter, Portuguese chap. On arrival we noticed the carvery and thought we would try that sometime whilst we were here, however breakfast the first morning was buffet style and disgusting, dried out hash browns, tepid sausage and bacon etc. then cold fried eggs covered in fat. So, we decided to avoid the carvery because it too sat in the open all afternoon. However, on the second morning the breakfast was cooked to order and as I said to the waiter it was 100 percent better. If we knew what the breakfast would be we would perhaps stay again next time in Southport, but we would not like to take a chance on the first morning`s very poor offerings.

Visited Southport a couple of times a year and this is our favourite bar.Fell upon it by chance and it's got a great atmosphere.The breakfast is fantastic and the staff really spoil you from sitting down to leaving.The head waiter (Portugese..I think) was so friendly and attentive.Will be back.Thanks

The staff were very helpful and polite. Herding the 16 golfers/cats is never easy. In particular, Amy, on reception listened, understood and sympathised and made things happen as smoothly as I could have wished for. All of my party were extremely satisfied. Thank you, Amy.

Booked the function room for a surprise birthday party Erin from the events team was brilliant as where all the staff involved on the night. Great feedback from the guests on the catering and the room looked amazing in black & silver. I can't thank you enough for all the effort and would recommend to anyone looking for a venue in Southport.

This was the highlight of my trip to Europe so far!!!!! Howard was amazing and guided to to order the small carvery, which was fabulous. Yorkshire pudding and stuffing, along with traditional meats was 10+++++. I forgot the chef's name!! Also, he made a proper Pimms cup. I highly recommend!!!!!

We went to the Bold hotel Saturday evening 29/6/24 as 2 couples and we won't be going again. After receiving the menu and 3 of us wanting the pie and chips we where informed that there where no pies left, so we all opted for fish and chips this took an age to come as the service was so slow. I could have bought a fishing rod gone to the local mariner caught 4 fish and cooked them myself quicker . When we eventually got our food the fish was basically one lump of batter and not the best tasting. Onion rings where also ordered and they arrived when we had almost finished our meals[sent them back as we didn't want them as our desert] All in all not a very good dining experience and they won't be getting our custom again....oh and I'm still waiting for my bread and butter that i ordered ...it just didn't arrive.

Myself and my partner stayed here, we met a friend there who was in another room. The rooms were loverly and clean and the staff are friendly, If anyone is going to southport, then I would recommend this hotel. We will be staying here again soon. Thanks.

Had the best time at the country brunch. Special thanks to Kelsie she was amazing. We went to celebrate my birthday and it did not disappoint. The singers were fantastic and really got the atmosphere going. All the staff joined in with country style fancy dress and all were beyond helpful . Very well organised by the events team. Bar staff, Chloe, Jordon and Ben were very officiant. No waiting time for drinks. The bottomless aspect was great. Food was delicious. Can't wait for the next event. Thanks again : )

We had a very enjoyable couple of days staying at The Bold. Excellent location on the main street in the centre of Southport. Decent size room and very comfortable bed. All clean and tidy. Minor whinge - we found the Saturday morning buffet style breakfast to be rather better than the weekday order-from-menu version. But the stand-out plus point is the staff. Very friendly, always polite and helpful. Particular praise goes to Beth & Amy on reception and Szabina, Erica, Cloe & Izzy.

We didn't stay at the hotel but we ate in the restaurant. We were 7 friends out for lunch . We had been before last year but we couldn't believe the difference that a year makes . Staff are unfriendly. Menu choices were very limited unlike the online menus . I got a prawn cocktail which I asked could it be with brown bread . It arrived with white and it took a long time for the right bread to be brought. They weren't busy but service was slow . We ordered ciabatta with chips . The chips were cold but we ate them as we were so hungry. There were no condiments on the table and we had to ask for them . They took ages to come . I could go on and on ! Suffice to say we won't be returning .

Just called in for breakfast ,it was ten o clock but we received a warm welcome but we were told where to sit as they were preparing for lunch .We were then moved as we had sat in the area for lunch. We were then told there would be a wait as they were bringing fresh food We waited and they brought out beans .The eggs had been sat for a while so we asked if we could get fresh eggs only to be told the chef had put the breakfast pans away. Then everything was cleared away quickly not allowing us to return should we have needed anything more .There was constant wiping of tables and customers being told to move seats as they were for lunch guests Three couples left in disgust .I am sure they were very busy as it was father's Day but will not be returning .

Would just like to say what an absolute fabulous event the Abba brunch was, the food far surpassed anything we have had at other similar brunch events in terms of both quality and quantity. The ease of service at the bar again was a totally different experience to at other events. The hostess”s where an absolute delight and such a lovely touch. We went for my mum's birthday and we all thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. A huge thank you to all involved it was a fabulous event and I would highly recommend.

Starting with the positives. We love this hotel for drinks outside in the summer and decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay. Room was beautifully decorated - very art deco and tasteful. Staff were amazing and so attentive and friendly. BUT breakfast was a shambles - a low budget/poor quality/dried up offering - we were so disappointed . We had to ask for fruit juice and toast . Coffee was just about warm, the tray which had housed fried eggs just had goey scraps remaining - bacon was dried up and lying in a vat of fat, cheap sausages .. I could go on! We made our feelings known and pray that the management do something about this - what a shame to let breakfast standards fall so low!

Booked for a night. The room was out of this world.bed so comfy. The shower was really nice and spacious. Went for food in the restaurant.it was lovely and reasonably priced. Well recommend. We will definitely be coming here to stay again and to visit the restaurant.

My husband stayed here for 1 night last night and wanted to leave a review ( he never usually bothers! ) The room he stayed in was lovely, The bed was really comfortable and the shower was fantastic. Hi. Myself & 3 friends went to the Bold for a few drinks & a carvery meal, we booked a  table for 5pm & on arrival I thought it looked a very nice establishment & the staff looked very smart in their uniforms & that's were the nice experience ended, when we spoke with the waitress at the booking in table we were told that we had not booked in & she looked at us for a short while before saying but we have room so choose were you would like to sit, after a short while she came and took out order for drinks & 4 oap`s carvery, after nearly 20 minutes waiting for our drinks still had not arrived, we looked over at the bar & the young barman was just stood there, chewing gum, so my friend went up to the bar to find out about our drinks, they followed a few minutes later, we then went up to the carvery & it was a disgrace, the veg pots were half empty, the meat looked like rubber, the ham was all dried up, there was not Turkey, just scraps left there, the pork looked dry as a bone & there was no chef was no where to be seen & when he did arrive he looked totally uninterested & just said, well what would you like, when we pointed out the look of everything he gave no response, when asked about the turkey he said another one would not be ready till 20.00, at this point because of the chefs manner & the look of the food on offer we decided to not have the meal, we did complain to one of the waittress`s she just asked if we would like to order from the menu, no apologies at all, we said no to this offer, we finished out drinks & went to the bar to pay which was another disaster, the barman could not remove the price for the meals from the bill, looking at the bill was another shock, £14 for 2 medium glasses of white wine & £1 fo a splash of soda in one on the drinks, something I have never heard of before. as we were at the bar paying the bill a lot of fresh meat was being brought out, in my opinion to late & it should not have taken a complaint from a customer for this to be done, needless to say, we will not be returning to the Bold Hotel again. We were in Southport and came upon the bold by accident really our regular place to eat was closed. It clean and a lovely place to eat. We all decided to have the carvery it all looked really nice and fresh. After choosing a meat we were also served all the vegetables I have never been to a carvery where we couldn't serve ourselves bit disappointed really pointing to vegetables. No one asked if our meal was ok and never got asked if we would like a dessert menu.

I was taking a 24 hour business trip from the Isle of Wight to Southport. Long train journey though short walk from the station into a very comfortable hotel reasonably priced, with hearty food and a comfy room and bed. Just what I needed. Recommend and I would stay again.

Lunched there and my £9 sandwich used the cheapest ingredients possible. The bread was just cheap brown sliced loaf with cheap grated cheese and pickle. Accompanied by a pinch of salad leaves and a handful of nachos. Shameless profiteering. The staff were lovely, shame they're let down by poor ownership.

Our stay was fabulous. Very convenient to the golf courses, restaurants and nightlife. The staff are exceptional and extremely helpful. Beth, Amy and Howard went way out of their way to help us at every turn. They made our stay very special.

Visited the bold hotel in Southport as I just needed some time on my own for some R&R! Was made to feel so welcome from start to finish by all of the team. What I liked about the restaurant area is you can cosy up in a corner and just relax, no interruptions! Got talking to a couple next to me that had a similar experience and enjoyed every minute just as I did. The food served was delicious and fresh. Room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable just as expected. Nothing was too much, overall I had a really good experience and will definitely be back! Thanks to all the team for making me feel so welcome on my solo trip!

We had an incredibly warm welcome from Chloe as we walked through the doors of the hotel. Our room was spacious and full of everything you need for a relaxing weekend stay. Only thing to remember to bring is water. Our dinner was good quality pub grub served with a smile. Fortunately, we were mainly served by Chloe and she looked after us perfectly, giving some recommendations when we were a little unsure. The rest of the staff were lovely too. We will be returning when we are next in town.

We booked a meal for 17 people, all members of our family, to celebrate a special birthday. The food was excellent and well served. The staff who looked after us, Chloe, Tom and Carla, were terrific, nothing was too much trouble. All this contributed to an unforgettable evening. The only reason we left when we did, was to catch the last train home!! We would have no hesitation in recommending the Bold Hotel to our friends.

Absolutely amazing hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Beth on reception was brilliant. The room was very luxurious, lovely view of Lord street. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless with a spacious shower. The breakfast was gorgeous as was the cavary. The chocolate fudge cake and apple crumble were delicious. Could not fault our stay at all. Will definitely be returning soon. Normally stay at Premier inn... Never again. Thank you for a lovely couple of nights.

Having read reviews we booked for two nights this week and upgraded to a suite ( room 23 ) On arrival, check in was fine and welcoming . Parking is an issue as we had to park across the road behind the Grand hotel - but we did know this advance . The room ( at the side of the hotel ) was very nice and clean , except for a lot of dust on the blinds . Whilst a good size room it is not what we would consider to be a suite. It consisted of a large bed ( very comfortable) , two standing chairs,coffee table . There were tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge ( which could have done with a clean ) , hair dryer and ironing board . On returning to our room the second night , it would appear that someone had turned the heating down so it was cold - but soon rectified by turning the rad up . We booked the restaurant for 7pm on the first evening for us and two other people. The carvery had closed . We waited quite some time for our drinks to be served after ordering. Fifteen minutes after ordering our food we were then told that there was no vegetable lasagne left because of the bank holiday . Food arrived and three out of the four meals were very good . The fourth not so - but to be fair we didn't complain . The service at the end of our evening improved some what from Chloe - very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good , though improved on the second morning. Butter instead of margarine would have been welcome. In summary, we enjoyed our stay however it did not entirely live up to our expectations having read the reviews before hand .

On arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded to one of the nicest rooms in the hotel. Couldn't agree more it was first class. The staff were all very pleasant, especially Chloe M. who greeted us on arrival and set the standard for our visit. As we are not very big eaters, breakfast was just as we ordered, tea and toast only and the price was adjusted accordingly. The carvery was very good value and well prepared and served. All in all a very pleasant stay. Our special thanks to Chloe M.

We (2 couples) visited The Bold for a meal and drinks yesterday 26 March. We loved the bar and restaurant area. The food was wonderful and the drinks were really nice. Carla, our waitress, was charming, attentive and very helpful. We had a brilliant time, and really enjoyed ourselves. Overall, I can only rate the Bold as excellent. We will definitely visit The Bold again.

We booked a table of 10 for a Carvey lunch to celebrate my 60th birthday we could not have been treated any better. We all enjoyed our carvey which was the best I have ever had, fresh , hot and lots of choice of meats and vegetables and potatoes All the staff especially Chloe our United Kingdom waitress and Kelsie the general manager could not do anymore for us. Went to the bold hotel for mothers day. It was perfect the staff were brilliant they all went above and beyond are expectations. The food was amazing and they even catered for a very fussy eater of a son with out blinking and eye nothing was a problem for them. The entertainment was spectacular a singer called Asa Murphy. The whole day was very special and made all the Mums day. We all can't wait for the their next event

Tried the carvery 'OAP' lunch. £5 for a 'small' plate. Generous portion - great choice of vegetables and turkey was tasty and tender. Only small gripe was some of the veg were not piping hot but still ok. Lovely friendly staff. Excellent value and will definitely be back. All of my group of friends were happy.

The whole staff team created a wonderful atmosphere for our event. The process of dealing with the events team was seamless and everything was set up exactly as requested and all the staff were very accommodating with nothing being too much trouble. Food and service were impeccable. We all had such an amazing night and extend our thanks to all of the team. We would definitely recommend this venue for events and functions and will certainly use them again in the future.

A big thank you to all those who helped to make a special birthday a memorable event for 22 family and friends. Nothing was too much trouble for Pricila the manager, waiting on and bar staff. The chefs and kitchen staff were very accommodating regarding children's meals and minor changes to the original requests. The food was hot and delicious. The table was beautifully set. The seating and whole area was clearly well thought through. Cila even sent up pictures before we arrived. We really appreciated her thoughtfulness. The service was first class and all the staff were professional and efficient. Highly recommended.

Attended our friends 70th Birthday meal for 22 people. Tables we presented nicely in a set back Area so there was privacy if you wanted it. We went for the regular carvery ( 1 or 2 meats available, 3 if you go large) lots of nicely cooked veg. Service was good,, extra gravy supplied at the table. The staff were all very professional especially CILA who made sure we were all looked after. She took time to converse with us even though the restaurant was very busy. We will be back.

Booked for carvery 6pm Sunday 18.2.24 for 4 people. Quiet on arrival. Took 15 mins to seat us. Took another 15 mins to ask for our order. At 6.45 told that no more carvery will be cooked as not many people in. At 7pm food arrived. The smallest steaks I've ever seen! Tiny portions. Manager offered small discount. Terrible service & visit from start to finish. I see why it was quiet now.

Booked meal for four for 85th birthday. There was a large wedding party at the bar and eating area which was very noisy and loud. Waited over 15 mins for a drink order but to no avail. The area was cold for some reason. Very disappointed as it was special occasion. Waitress was busy seating other people and never took order. Very poor service or lack of

We visited to have some lunch on Thursday the 15th of February as we walked in we where instantly greeted by Chloe M with a huge smile from that moment on we where looked after by Chloe and she was absolutely brilliant kind polite friendly and extremely welcoming We decided to have a carvery which was absolutely delicious and extremely good value you will definitely not leave this place hungry A lovely experience fantastic venue great food and Chloe who is a credit to herself and the business.

The carvery is certainly the best in town. All of the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Great value for money and a lovely atmosphere and loads of vegetable options. The kitchen staff are very accommodating and the food is wonderful and so fresh.

Ate here for the first time on Sunday and we were left disappointed. No courtesy check back at our table. No offer of 2nd drink or Dessert. Very disappointed with the Service. The only saving Grace was the Carvery Chef he was really nice. Not sure why you can't help yourself to veg/potatoes. Food was lovely just shame about the Service.

Absolutely loved our stay in this modern, spotless hotel! Room was fabulous, sky TV, comfortable bed and staff were very welcoming! Stayed over for our anniversary and staff had left cake in room! Booked this hotel on booking.com last minute, I'd never been to Southport for a night away, I didn't have high expectations. I was so very surprised on checking in to the bold hotel, absolutely beautiful place and I was shocked at just how nice it was for what we paid, £128 for a double room. I've paid far more for alot worse! The room was gorgeous, spotlessly clean, beautiful furnishings, well equipped, the only minor issue I will raise in the shower, im not sure if it was the pressure in general or just that room but I did have a little issue with the temp it was pretty cold, and the pressure was up and down, however it really didn't make a difference because I was so pleased with everything else. After settling in we went down to the bar/restaurant we had a carvery which was beautiful and very very reasonably priced and stayed in the bar for a few drinks. The staff are lovely, the place is lovely and the location is brill, I will 1000% be returning to the bold in the very near future, thank you for a wonderful stay

It was an emotional weekend for us as on the Saturday we took our daughter to edge hill university, after moving her in we arrived at the hotel. From checkin to our room, dinner, service and breakfast was faultless. The room was spotless, bed was so comfortable, food was amazing and the staff are a credit to the hotel. Staying at the bold made our emotional weekend extra special so a big thankyou. We will definately be returning.

The Hotel is just beautiful. The room was lovely, comfortable bed, pillows spot on, shower perfect. The staff could not have been more helpful, and the carvery I had was to die for! Reception staff have gone above and beyond to contact me after myself and my daughter left to tell me they were sending out the picture that we had drawn of us both as we'd left it in the hotel room. The staff are a credit to the owners of this beautiful, well placed establishment and I can definitely say that we will be back again many many times. We booked the bold for a special birthday weekend, from check in to the last moment we left nothing was to much trouble. A specially thank you to Megan on reception she truly is an outstanding member of your staff, very attentive and informative and also the curly hair manager lady I forgot her name in the restaurant, Portuguese lady, we are very fussy eaters with some dietary requirements and she took It all on board and really look after us. She was also in at breakfast on the following day and again just a warn welcome as soon as she saw us again. Thank you thank you thank you You made our specially weekend extra extra special. Beautiful hotel decorated with Red Rum and horse memorabilia. Very cosy and welcoming. Large bar with lots of space and a great variety of drinks available. We stayed overnight. Our room was clean with a very comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. Tea/coffee facilities and a small fridge. Thank you to Howard for recommending the Great Himalayan restaurant and for booking us a table there. The food was delicious. Breakfast at the hotel was very nice with friendly attentive staff. Within walking distance off all the shops, pubs and trendy bars. We will definitely stay again.

Lovely stay, very well located hotel, easy to find and easy to park. Friendly welcome (room wasn't ready but we arrived before check in time), nice Sunday carvery, tasty breakfast included in the price, and the room and bathroom were pretty much spot on. Only problem we had is how hot the room was. The team had tried their best to cool it down with a great big fan in the room which was great, but loud. That's British summer for you though!

Good location for exploring Southport with plenty of bars and restaurants close by. Comfortable beds and all rooms are clean and welcoming. A special mention must go to Ellie who looked after us extremely well despite us requesting all sorts of extra needs. Great location to explore Southport area. Good mix of french and italian restaurants in the area. Comfortable clean and spacious room...everything we needed easy access on first floor. All staff very friendly, professional and helpful. Megan excellent at the front desk.. Breakfast good with choice of continental and hot food....perhaps a few healthier options on bar/restaurant food menu? Enjoyed sitting outside and watching people go past....

We had a lovely time. Chloe M was our server . She was lovely and very attentive. There are some disabled facilities at the side and disabled toilet too. We visited with a disabled relative. My parents are local - I'm visiting on a weekend trip from London.

I totally agree with Catherine A, we also tried the award winning carvery during our one night stay. We had been really looking forward to it as we thought one bad review must've been unlucky. Unfortunately we totally agree the carvery was awful. We ate around 5pm....all meat looked very dry so we opted for turkey and drenched it in gravy . ALL veg apart from peas were so hard we couldn't even cut them(no exaggeration). Breakfast was average at best. Believe me we are usually easily pleased but feel we must comment this time. Check in slow. Room was nice,clean and modern if a little small. Dreadful buzzing noise ALL night stopped us from sleeping...not sure if it was air conditioning outside or generator. We did request a quiet room. After visiting Southport on many occasions this was our first visit to Bold , unfortunately it will be the last.

Called in for something to eat ended up having the carvery. I am not usually a carvery fan but enjoyed every mouth full and was absolutely stuffed. I had the regular carvery god knows how big the large would be. Bar staff etc were excellent well presented and looked and acted very professional which was great to see. Next time we go to Southport will look at stopping in the Hotel. If you dont want anything to eat nice to call in for a drink.

We had room no.6 at the front of the hotel, a large room decorated stylish, great large walk in shower, king size bed. The pillows were a bit hard, and the room rather noisy due to lack of double glazing a lot of traffic noise, music and people talking in the outside bar below. The breakfast was very good buffet and hot. All the staff were friendly and charming. We stayed there as at our sons wedding nearby and enjoyed our stay apart from room a little noisy perhaps a room at the back would have been better for us. Apart from the comments we would stay again.

Don't go for a Carvery. We were recommended but it's dreadful Sunday £14.00 standard carvery. Only the Turkey was good. The Gammon was not cuttable in places the Sirloin of Beef was tender but tasteless. Roasties were hard not crispy and brown Yorkshire Burnt. No Carrot and turnip left at 5.00 no replacement so had sprouts couldn't get fork in never mind cut the things. Gravy cold and tasteless. So disappointed. No one asks how it is they must know Shocking. 1 star for the turkey

We had a family wedding at the Bold. Communications throughout were spot on and on the day our Daughter and Son in Law were looked after so well and were guided seamlessly through their day. The food was very good, hot, tasty and plentiful. The staff were professional, helpful and friendly. The venue was stunning and dressed to perfection. We staying at the hotel for two nights. The rooms are lovely and breakfast was good. I'm on crutches so going up and down stairs was difficult for me as no lift, but we knew this when we booked the venue so I just allowed more time to get up and down! We had a fabulous day and would most definitely recommend The Bold as a perfect wedding venue.

When in Southport I always stay here. The rooms are nice , clean and airy. They are also modern with good showers. Breakfast is awesome. There's no reason why I won't continue to support the hotel and I would 100% recommend it. Also it has a great bar and a good selection of meals available.

First time we stayed but have been many times, great experience . Staff couldn't do enough for us . Great breakfast . Good location, rooms are spacious and clean. Only real negative is the car park is very small enough room for six cars £5 for the night but car parks a plenty near by

Located in Southport very centrally yet close to the coast, this is a small hotel with very tidy rooms, a lively bar and very helpful and friendly staff (thanks Claire!). Tasty breakfast, limited parking at the rear but other options as parking on the street also possible.

Another stay at the bold and it was just as good as the last time. Great service big comfortable bed and a gorgeous breakfast. Stayed in room 12 again and in my previous review I mentioned a lack of accessible plugs near the mirror this wasn't an issue this time. It's great to see a business listening to customer feedback and acting on it to improve the customer experience.Thanks for another wonderful stay we'll be back soon

This is a simply amazing hotel. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, the rooms are first class and so comfortable and the breakfast was freshly made and tasty. Such great value to stay in a great place; thank you so much.

We were on holiday and decided to call in here for a drink as we were nearby and it was pouring down. We were greated by a very friendly member of staff and made our way to the bar, we enjoyed our night as surroundings were lovely and staff were very friendly and because of this we decided to eat here the next night.Again we were greeted by the same friendly staff member who took us to our seats. We decided to both have the carvery and this is were our experience changed, on going up to the carvery we were met by a very abrupt Chef who virtually growled at us to hand over our tickets whilst he was half way through serving me he left the area and had a rather heated conversation with another staff member and even during our meal we could see how unhappy he was even tutting and showing his annoyance when other customers came to be served and growing give me two minutes. Shortly after this he was having another heated conversation with the front of house staff. This chef should not be anywhere near a customer facing role and if he is not happy go and get another job as customers pay a lot of money and should not have to see that type of behaviour.

We were greeted by Ellie who was very welcoming, friendly & professional & showed us to our table. The dining area was decorated well & very comfortable furniture. Menus were already placed on the table so Ellie took our drinks order whilst we looked over the Menu. Ellie then returned with our drinks and then took our food order. The child's menu offered chicken nuggets, chips & beans & unfortunately our grandson doesn't like beans so she offered us an alternative of peas which was perfect. Our food arrived quickly & was presented well, hot and very tasty. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Bold as a perfect place to eat and also just for drinks.

We stayed for a night in a family room. So we had a double bed and a single bed too. The room was reasonably sized but the single bed was a small kids bed. Roll over and you fall out of it! A bit noisy but if you book a hotel on a busy road then you have to expect that. Not worth the price for one night. Very opportunistic because of events going on in the area, but it was reasonable for giving us somewhere to stay before the drive home in the morning.

We called for a drink on the afternoon of Monday 17th July with the intention of making a potential booking for a weekend away in the future. We were served at the bar by the most abrupt young woman so our minds were made up , we will look elsewhere .

We had a lovely stay in room 23, the staff couldn't do enough for you so friendly and the carvery eas unbeatable. Breakfast was lovely too. Very enjoyable the only criticism was they need some more comfy chairs away from the eating area to relax and enjoy the fab cocktails. Also thanks for our complimentary anniversary cakes. Just perfect but sad to see southport run down with so may empty shops. Ideally positioned so we could use all the local bars and the amusement arcades . Will come again xx

One of my suppliers booked the hotel ( I normally stop at another hotel) Has everything. Food & Bar area. The room was modern, clean and compact. All looked and felt new. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Went for a midweek break to the Bold Hotel. Had a twin room at the back of the Hotel, room 12. We were 2 girls sharing and the room was really nice but no air conditioning so we had to sleep with the window open which was a little noisy the following morning. There were also no drawers in the room which was a bit of a nuisance and the decor was a bit dark but these were just small niggles. On the plus side it was nice to go downstairs and be in the middle of a really nice pub with great food. The staff were also very nice and really helpful. Parking was a bit awkward, only 7 spaces but luckily I managed to get one, there is a small charge for this.

Lovely single room crisp white fresh bedding and towels comfy bed. Tea coffee making facility. Fridge hair dryer toiletries large shower fab bathroom. Bar restaurant with carvery. Friendly staff. Would book again.

Very mediocre.. smell of cooking when entering hotel was awful . Staff friendly . Breakfast ordinary and esther fatty even after we requested no added butter Rooms newly refurbished but dark . Bed so high I almost needed a ladder.

Considering how clean and up-to-date The Bold is, it's a bargain. The rooms can be be a bit small but that's not the end of the world. I've stayed there twice now and my only complaint would be that the rooms are very warm, even if you open the windows. We had to do that and put the fan on last night! Despite that the rooms are comfortable and quiet, even with any road noise. The staff are great too. We'll definitely stay again.

Very nicely modernised hotel in a prime location on Lord Street. Lovely bedroom and en suite. High standard accommodation for a reasonable price. Good value full English breakfast. Receptionists Lois and Claire were helpful and friendly.

WOW! What a place! If you want top service come here! We arrived for our stay on Thursday and was greeted at the door by a lovely polite young lady Chloe who offered help with our bags up the stairs. We checked in with Claire, she was brilliant! We had both lunch and dinner here and the food was fantastic could not fault! We was served by two Chloe's one in the evening and one in the night both staff members were excellent. My husband and I spoke to the young girl on the night and honestly could not of delivered a better service! The carvery WOW!! Now this was something else absolutely phenomenal, 10/10 my husband hasn't stopped going on since we left this morning. The meat was cooked to perfection, everything was red hot and plates were hot which personally for me makes it all the better! Everything was so flavourful and so tasty. The room was clean and cosy and the bed was luxurious and very modern it's great for a couple nights stay over! Thank you to all the staff you made are stay exceptional and we will most certainly be back. See you soon!

Came to The Bold with my mother in law for an impromptu lunch. The carvery was beautiful, service faultless, atmosphere lovely. Chloe was particularly attentive. My favourite place in Southport for lunch

I had a carvery meal and when the chef was placing the meat on my plate a portion fell onto the worktop and he picked it up and but it onto my plate which I think is most unhygienic. And I paid £11.80 for 2 small glasses of shandy which I think is well over priced. I'm going out to dine with some friends soon but when I told them the price of the drinks it was a unanimous decision to find another restaurant with more reasonable price's on drinks.

What can we say, this Hotel is in the iconic Lord Street in the Heart of Southport. We wanted a peaceful, but trendy place to stay for our special 5 year anniversary and we truly hit the jackpot by choosing to stay here. As it was a special stay I pre-ordered a Champagne to the room. I've then received an email from reception to inquire about my arrival time, so the Champagne would be nice and cool upon our arrival... Wow!!! Sometimes it is all about these little things that make all the difference. We felt so welcomed we decided to give the restaurant a go too. Although it is a pub, the food was absolutely unreal and the atmosphere was truly the highlight of this place. ❤ We will most definitely come back again.

Overwhelmed by this hotel, from reception, to the bar and the outstanding service in the restaurant... And the carvery omggggggg, just unreal. One lady was really friendly and welcoming, she was there at breakfast every morning and if I recall well her name is Geo. We went as a family and stayed in 3 rooms, everyone agreed that it was one of the cleanest and cosiest hotels we ever stayed in. We will definitely be back soon. Must love Cx

Spent New Years Eve at The Bold Hotel with my boyfriend… where do I start!! From the minute we arrived the staff were amazing! We were directed up to the reception by a young gentlemen who also assisted us with taking up our luggage. Reception staff were so friendly upon both check in and check out and honestly couldn't do enough for us! Restaurant and Bar staff were also super friendly, a special mention to Ellie, she was fabulous! It's so nice to see such positivity in a work place, it's not often you walk into an establishment and every member of staff is smiling and also engaging and attentive - it's so clear the staff enjoy their jobs and take pride in their work which created such a great atmosphere! All in all we had a great night bringing in the new year and we will definitely be returning soon! Hats off to management, what a great establishment and team you have built here!

The lovely friendly and helpful staff are as always just perfect. I have said it before when staying here ,it really is the best place to stay for miles around. It would take a lot to beat it. Truly it is just perfect.

Southport Orchestra Christmas Dinner – What a fantastic night. The room was beautifully dressed, the food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Everyone went above and beyond to make it a special evening. Everything from the initial organisation to the actual event was perfect. All the staff at The Bold are courteous, efficient and extremely professional. One guest summed up the occasion, saying it was "the best ever". We would definitely recommend holding an event here. The Bold Hotel Lord Street was the venue for Alzheimer's society Christmas meal. As ever the staff were brilliant , the food was delicious and the room was decorated magnificently . The team never disappoint and after a two year gap because of coved restrictions we were delighted to be welcomed back today. The staff were polite, kind and patient and served everyone with a first class Christmas menu . The owner is a credit and so is his events manager . Had the most amazing time with my family, the food was delicious. The staff went out there way to find me a dish suitable as I am a vegetarian, there was plenty on the menu that the chefs were willing to adjust to make It vegetarian. In the end I opted for the carvery as they have a nut roast choice - I thoroughly enjoyed!! The best carvery I have had in a long time. All the staff were lovely. Will definitely be returning.

Wonderful weekend stay. Staff in reception were so helpful and polite, and offered advice on parking, the use of the leisure facilities, dining options etc. Must say it has been a most enjoyable 3 night stay. The hotel is cosy and so conveniently situated to explore the wonderful shops, restaurants and bars. The town is beautifully lit with sparkling lights. I certainly would recommend a visit to Southport and a stay at The Bold Hotel. We definitely will return.

Came with friends for a few days. From start to finish, staff were brilliant! All bar and restaurant staff made our stay very homely, had a good laugh with Ellie and Jordan, very friendly staff! I stayed at the bold for two nights. The room was immaculate as well as the bathroom. Lovely staff, the women on reception and house keepers made sure I had everything I needed. Central to town so there are plenty of places to eat however the food there in the restaurant was amazing. I would recommend you stay here.

Came for a 4 night getaway, the rooms were lovely. So cosy and have everything you need. Staff were wonderful they couldn't do enough. The food.... WOW. We came for the Christmas functions and I loved it. Everyone made me feel so special and the acts were amazing... so we booked to come back for New Years. Couldn't recommend this place enough!!!

Best carvery in town.!! was very reasonably priced... food was hot and fresh and the staff were very polite and extremely helpful .. hotel was spotless beds extremely comfy and stylish wouldn't hesitate to recommend .. will be visiting again very shortly

A joke -avoid. Arrived at 7pm after a long drive. Don't expect parking as there is very little and what is available will cost you on top of the already hefty bill ( £200 for 2 nights) I couldn't check in as I had to wait for other guests complaining at reception. Once got my key I could see what they meant- dingy room no double glazing no heating overlooking a busy road. When I raised my concerns with the receptionist she said quite plainly to foxtrot Oscar if you don't enjoy being grifted- I would have done but for the time. Come to Southport it's lovely but avoid This place - it's awful.

Fabulous overnight stay, we booked to stay for a family function at the hotel and were delighted with the room(booked a suite), decor was beautiful, bed was super comfy. Lovely and warm on a cold November evening. En-suite was lovely. Overall very clean and enjoyable stay. Breakfast was fantastic, full English with vegetarian option and continental option. Staff were wonderful, welcoming, pleasant and very helpful. Will definitely be returning on our next trip to Southport. TIp: Cheap parking at another property to the rear of The bold ,£3 =24hrs

Probably the best hotel stay we have had, from the courtesy telephone call prior to the visit, the greeting on arrival, the room, the bed, the food, the cleanliness, all staff professional attitude. I celebrated my birthday and couldn't have been happier

Great welcome from the host at the door. Found us a great table for 4 . Food excellent only one issue was trying to pay was hard work no one wanted our money. Was about to just leave our name and number behind before we left when suddenly somone came with the bill.

We've stayed at this hotel on several occasions and I cant fault it. From reception staff to serving staff our experience has always been excellent. The food served here is brilliant, tasty and plentiful! Anne at reception is always accommodating and always happy to help. I would definitely recommend a stay at The Bold Hotel.

Fantastic hotel, staff very welcoming and helpful, meals really lovely. The Bold is a hotel that you will keep going back to like us, the rooms are very clean and beds are so comfortable, down at the bar you will find a great atmosphere, looking on to Lord Street you can sit with your favourite tipple and watch the world go by 10/10 from us both.

One of the best hotels in Southport. Spotlessly clean and spacious modern rooms. Very friendly staff who go out of their way to help you. Good breakfast and reasonable evening meal menu. Comfortable large beds. Would stay here again without hesitation.

The carvery at the Bold was absolutely beautiful. I had gammon & my friend had gammon & turkey. There were potatoes prepared three ways - roast, mashed & dauphinoise, & a huge selection of fresh vegetables. The yorkshire puddings were home made, unlike other etsablishments frozen pre-packed type! There was a choice of gravy &, as i like plenty of it, the chef also provided me with a full gravy boat! The staff were very helpful & at £10 for a regular, mid week carvery, we shall be returning. (The photo doesn't do it justice).

Visited here many a time but not had a chance to put up a review until now.I had the car very it was amazing the dolphin war potato's are to die for and the onion gravy.I've not forgotten about the staff always helpful,friendly and full of knowledge.it's definitely worth a go

Had the most amazing carvery with friends this evening! Food was beautiful, atmosphere was warm and cosy. Nothing was too much, the service was impeccable. We had a lovely friendly waiter, didn't catch his name but was his first night and he did brilliantly ! Will definitely be back!!

Although just the one night, a good choice for our stopover. Clean, spacious and quiet room with the usual facilities. Excellent made to order breakfast with plenty of choice and served by amiable helpful staff. Special thanks to Claire on reception for her warm welcome.

Could not recommend this place more than enough, me and my wife recently chose this venue for our wedding and we are so glad we did, from start to finish the whole experience was amazing, firstly we dealt with Jeanette who we instantly took too, she is amazing and any question she wasn't hesitant to answer, she walked us through the whole day making it so stress less! So firstly I'd like to Thankyou! The food was absolutely beautiful I've never experienced lamb to be cooked to so perfection! It literally just fell off the bone every single guest was amazed by it along with the other courses, so well done to the chefs! Kelsey and her team made our day extra special by looking over the whole day throughout till the end there was nothing they could of done to make our day any better! Each staff member was so polite friendly and happy, so I'd also like to thank all of them! We stayed the night and what can I say WOW the suite was so modern the colours where warm and calm, the bathroom was stunning and the bed was so comfy, the next morning we got up for breakfast and it was so fresh everything was hot and fresh one of the best cooked breakfasts I've had personally! All in all I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Everything about it even where it is situated Is perfect. Id personally like to thank all of you who made our day so stress less and it's truly a day remember for the rest of our lives!

Visited the Bold Hotel for a meal with friends on 10.10.22. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We had to wait a little while because our party ordered vegan food apart from two of us. My friends told me to go and get my meal because I was having the carvery and they didn't want me to be left with little choice. The carvery was delicious- piping hot and an excellent choice of vegetables. The waitress was so apologetic about the wait and the manager sent a bottle of wine to the table to apologise. We refused saying that things were hard enough these days for the hospitality sector and we had been able to have a good chat and a drink and the wait didn't matter. They insisted on giving us complimentary coffees, which was over and above what they needed to do. The last time we all went out to another local restaurant we had to wait and we didn't even get an apology there! The Bold is such a lovely restaurant- great food and atmosphere. We will definitely go back there soon and would highly recommend it to others.

We were booked into the Bold hotel for overnight stay, as we were attending a wedding reception there. On arrival we were greeted at the reception desk on the first floor by two very helpful and friendly receptionist who made us feel at ease right away. One of the receptionists was Ann, and I'm afraid I never got the other lady's name, but we'd like to thank them both. We had a drink at the bar, again all the staff were exceptional, and very attentive throughout our stay. The function room was just amazing, beautifully and tastefully decorated, the buffet was delish and plentiful. Especially like to thank all the bar staff, particularly the patient bar tender waiting to close up , as it was a long night to be fair, though he just smiled through. Rooms are smart and nicely decorated, very comfortable stay. Great full breakfast in the morning rounded off our stay very nicely, again great waiting on service.

Me and my husband arrived here today and what can we say, absolutely beautiful, we was in room 3 and what a lovely view, we had food and drinks here and our waitress was Leanne she had such a lovely personality great service and she always had a smile, i would recommend this hotel too anyone, definitely will return worth every penny. We were upgraded on arrival by the very efficient and friendly receptionist Claire who gave lots of useful information and always had a smile on her face .The room was very nice and had everything we required. We would definitely stay at the Bold again.

This was an exceptional hotel. Great staff, beautiful room and en-suite, all public areas were spotlessly clean and all attractively decorated. Parking on site was a bonus and only cost 5 pounds. The breakfast menu had a great choice and was cooked to order. We can't find fault and definitely recommend.

What a fabulous hotel! We visited last weekend to celebrate 2 family birthdays. Felt like VIPs from the second we walked through the doors. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Management, bar, reception and restaurant staff were all amazing. Had dinner and breakfast and the food was outstanding! Rooms had everything you need and more (mine also had birthday cake). Couldn't have been better...perfect!

I have over many years stayed at this hotel, when it was a lovely properly run hotel. But now it resembles just a pub with food which is not great either. The staff in general apart from Reception were all pre occupied with themselves and even on their phones. I will def NOT be staying again, and advise to find a better one on Southport .

Eleven of our family had party in the Bold hotel Southport on Saturday night the 24th September. What a fantastic time we all had. We all stayed in the Bold and the rooms are so fabulous and luxurious. The staff are absolutely brilliant and so friendly and professional from the reception to the bar and restaurant. The food was amazing and service impeccable. We were looked after like we were royalty. Stayed at The Bold for 2 nights with my wife. Staff were helpful. Had breakfast the first morning which was very good. Bar staff were friendly and efficient. Room clean and bright. Bathroom was good size with walk in shower. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

I was greeted by Jordan and Ellie whom both displayed outstanding hospitality skills Jordan was so attentive and helpful with a lovely smile and Ellie was a perfect hostess ensuring we all felt comfortable and welcome She displays a warm welcoming disposition making you feel comfortable so much so I would rather stay at the Bold Hotel rather than the sister hotel in Lord St as the Bold Hotel had a warm welcome to greet guests and Ellie and Jordan are doing a great job extending their hospitality skills to make guests like myself enjoy staying in the Bold Hotel Thankyou Ellie and Jordan .

We initially called in for a coffee break and were so impressed by the service, the way the coffee was served and its price that we returned for lunch. We opted for the carvery which delivered on our expectations in all aspects. A great find

My partner and I decided to stay here for the bank holiday for 2 nights. We decided to stay here as we previously have stayed here whenever we have previously visited Southport and have never been disappointed After a rather long journey, we managed to get a parking spot in the small car park behind the hotel before entering. As soon as we did, the smell from the kitchen made us extremely hungry so we decided to have a spot of lunch before checking in. My partner had the steak baguette and myself the hot beef bap with gravy. Both dishes were lovely and the meat was of a high quality. Upon checking in we were greeted by two very pleasant receptionists before making our way to our room. We booked a deluxe room and it had ample size for the 2 of us for 2 nights. As per usual it was spotless and beautifully decorated We truly believe that this is the best hotel and establishment in Southport. It is our favourite place to stay for a reason and all the staff are a credit to The Bold!

Haven't been at The Bold in a long while but can I just say that I was so nicely surprised to see it changed their décor. They have also changed their menu since last time I was in, and after a day out of school shopping with my brother and his daughters, we decided to have some lunch. My brother and I had the salt and pepper chicken which was more than we expected. Big portions and great taste. My niece had the pizza from the kids menu. Good size pizza for a child and she loved it. Staff were very attentive. Will definitely come back soon.

We stayed for one night over the bank holiday weekend and was glad we had chosen the Bold hotel. Great place to stay, rooms were modern and nicely furnished. The staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular Anne on reception made us feel very welcome. Good selection of lagers in the bar - didn't eat there as we had arranged to meet up with friends elsewhere, but the Carvery looked delicious and will definitely try next time we stay.

What a lovely place! We have used this hotel on many occasions both as a couple and as a family. For overnight stays, birthday meals and Christmas functions, to just having lunch in the sun. From the managers to the glass collectors, the staff were all friendly, warm and welcoming. There is a lovely, busy but pleasant atmosphere both inside and out, that is always kept clean and smart with the decor giving it a very homely feel. Every time I have eaten here, I have tried something different each time and have never left disappointed, my youngest son loves the "best in the universe" pasta and my eldest (at 16) is comfortable to sit with us and have a conversation, without technology!!!!! and enjoy the fish and chips. I couldn't recommend this place enough for everything it has to offer!

We visited this weekend and the service was awful , got a pizza for my 6 year old son from the kids menu but he couldn't eat any of it as it was really spicy and when I mentioned it to the waitress all she said was she will find out what the chef put on it but didn't come back , we wasn't offered another pizza or anything from the menu so my son sat hungry eating fries from my plate, we asked for plain chocolate ice cream but it came out with all kinds on it and to top it off after I took my son to the toilet we came back to find his ice cream had been taken and Somone sitting at our table. Not only did he have no dinner he also couldn't even have his ice cream and still got charged

We went for the carvery right at the end of the night while we were up in Southport. It was brilliant. Very generous portions, excellent value for money. Lovely staff. Really enjoyed it. Hats off to Kelsey the gravy chef!

We stayed at the Bold Hotel for 2 nights from 15th to 17th August ...from arriving the service was amazing...the young man on the bar didn't hesitate to help with our bags...the reception staff were amazing... I can only remember 2 of the lovely ladies names Anne and Meghan but they were all very professional...always smiling and couldn't do enough to make our stay an amazing one... even bringing cake to our room and singing happy birthday to my 83 year old cousin...the bar and restaurant staff were fabulous ..all very smart...all wore smiles all the time and also couldn't do enough for us...they worked extremely hard and was led by a great leader by the name of Kelsey who was also very professional and friendly....all in all the hotel was a pleasure to stay in....great location...spotlessly clean...rooms were spacious with very comfy beds but the stay was made extra special by all the lovely staff...couldn't recommend this hotel enough and will certainly look forward to coming back.

Myself and my partner are fanatic about Best Western Hotels and The Bold is another great reason to champion them. An immaculate hotel.....luxurious rooms and fantastic customer service from Megan in rearranging our rooms last minute....close to each other and to accomodate our 2 year old Grand Daughter with a cot and our other two 5 & 6 year old Grandsons last minute.All the staff could not have been nicer more welcoming and totally professional in making us feel special and relaxed. The food the service and surroundings too made our short stay memorable for us and the kids...thank you all and see you again very soon.

We stayed at the Bold Hotel on Friday after travelling from Dorset. We were in Southport to celebrate an uncles special memorial after he passed away during the pandemic and funerals were extremely restricted. We arrived to early to check in but needed to change and Megan went out of her way to find a room for us to be able to do so comfortably. She was very understanding and made us feel so welcome. Our room was lovely, and we knew our stay would be perfect. In the evening we had a large family meal in the restaurant and the food was great. All the staff were very friendly throughout our stay in Southport Would definitely stay here again.

Had a one night stay here after having a fantastic break here last year cannot fault this hotel rooms were spotless and modern with an excellent breakfast.my partner had a medical emergency which the staff dealt with superbly I cannot thank them enough . It has a perfect location and large front terrace . I would highly recommend a stay here

What a fabulous place. Had a lovely meal, food was excellent, staff and service fantastic. Looked after by James and Remi, nothing was too much trouble. We even got checked on by the manager Kelsey to make sure we were having a good evening. Highly highly recommend this place, couldn't fault it.

We had visited Southport on countless occasions, but today was the first time we visited the Bold Hotel, and it won't be the last. The speed of service and quality of food was excellent. A first class establishment that won't disappoint you.

Absolutely unbelievable place, service was incredible and rooms were beautiful and the staff couldn't do enough for us both, we've already booked for our return visit in August! Oh and we had a carvery on the last night I wish I'd of had it every day, Well done The Bold!!

Visited the bold hotel again for a carvery. Their ordering system is rubbish as you have to wait "for the chef to be ready". After 15 minutes we were told we could get our meals only to find there was no beef.....only turkey and a scrag end of gammon. Ridiculous! We complained and were told they only serve 2 meats in the week although we were not told this on ordering! Carvery should be immediate food and should always include beef! Won't be returning

Rooms are too expensive for what you get. Some rooms are very tiny and do not get properly cleaned. Breakfast. Staff is not very motivated. Long wait until one can order. Long wait until you get what you have ordered. But sometimes you get something else. Very disappointed stay. Cheese and sausages on the tiny buffet are open on a plate and not cooled and not covered.

We stopped for lunch at The Bold Hotel in Southport, there was four of us. We all chose the Carvery. Everything was lovely, told them two of us had Coeliac disease so needed Gluten Free, we couldn't have the Yorkshire Pudding and Stuffing and Gravy but everything else was fine. The staff particularly Ellie made sure we received a warm welcome when we arrived and everything was good for us all. The surroundings and toilets were clean and welcoming. We are hopefully going to visit again in September with our lovely Over 60's Group

Over the past few years we have often called to have drinks .. this evening after having a walk on the beach and pier decided to have food , the menu was quite a basic menu , slightly over priced , we was seated outside under cover with our dog , which is a lovely seating area .. we ordered chicken n chorizo kebab & a steak frites , to my disappointment the steak was half fat , we alerted a waiter who went to get what we think was the manageress who apologised and asked if we wanted another , i waited 15 /20 mins and a fresh steak was served with no cutlery, i asked a waitress , who didn't bring any so had to get up and ask for cutlery. I cut into the steak and it oozed blood , the manageress was nearby so i asked if it could be cooked longer , she replied ‘the steak frites is cooked medium rare , that's how we serve it' , she took the steak and brought it back cooked to my requirement. During this time we wasn't asked if we would like a complimentary drink to compensate our terrible experience. Overall i am very disappointed with the level of service , and sadly won't be returning.

Loving obliging and helpful staff nothing to much trouble. Immaculate decor and spotless. Give it a try you will not be disappointed. Exceptionally helpful receptionist named Wendy goes above and beyond her job title. By far best accommodation inSouthport,close to amenities and a short stroll to the Beach.

Overpriced and also misleading. We booked what was referred to as a ‘suite' as a special treat for a weekend away. We paid £259 for a one night stay in what we wouldn't describe as a suite. It was a good sized room with a king bed and an en suite bathroom. That's it. Isn't that also known as a king bedroom? Bed was very comfortable but tv didn't work. Not what I would expect for the price that we paid.

We stayed just one night , lovely room , every member of the staff were very helpful and polite. We had the evening buffet and unusual the breakfast was served to the table, yet it arrived very quickly.

Called here for the Carvery Lunch today. Good value for money and lovely surroundings.The food was excellent and piping hot. The staff here are always very friendly and welcoming. Will certainly eat here again Nice to call in for a drink too either inside or on a lovely sunny day outside looking over Lord Street

Great stay. Anne the lovely receptionist was excellent. Great customer service, couldn't do enough for you when I was checking in. Although I only stayed one night I was very impressed with the service in this Best Western Hotel chain. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is oddly quirky. It's a mismatch of styles. The hotel was completely restyled a few years ago with boutique sparkly bling throughout. They've changed some of that, restyling the main bar and the outside leading to it being peculiarly mismatched. The bedrooms are still sparkly etc but are looking increasingly tatty not having been redecorated for a number of years. Since joining Best Western prices have gone up, a lot, and quality has gone down. They say that they offer the best price direct. I tried and all they could do would be to match the best price elsewhere and to get that I would have to pay in full, in advance. Given the cost of the rooms and that they promote themselves as a high end hotel It's a great pity that they can't even provide water in the rooms. Saying all that it has a lovely atmosphere and some really friendly helpful staff. Wendy in particular is an absolute star and we look forward to returning.

I was quite surprised at this hotel being so poor in multiple areas. In our room the drains absolutely stank and the sink wouldn't drain and the toilet didn't flush properly. A fact that was clearly known about since the cleaning closet was stacked with mr muscle drain cleaner. It became unbearable on the last day. No air con but we had a fan. The windows we couldn't open as straight down was the terrace and people smoked on this. I had stated lactose intolerance and they surprisingly had no soya milk on any day we were there. I ended up having to buy my own soya milk. There was no partial refund or drink offered just a cursory thanks for letting us know about all the issues. The continental breakfast fits on a slate so there is little other than a couple of tiny pastries and a yoghurt. The cooked breakfast was standard and nothing special and could take some time to come out. Once the water and juices at the bar are empty (you have to get your own) they can take ages to get refilled. Parking is payable and is next to the industrial bins. It can be quite noisy around the area as it is on a cross roads surrounded by pubs. The location is very central and so its easy to get to anywhere to do sightseeing or to the pier or the station. It's a quick journey to Liverpool centre also. We were surprised at just the bland nature of the experience and the lack of intent to address the issues we experienced in the hotel. I would have expected superior service for the price and the level of hotel.

Front of house excellent, room upgrade fantastic and Leanne on restaurant service was amazing.. Team Bold Street you were all at your very best, food great and staff very attentive. It's great to see the hustle and bustle return to Southport.. highly recommended 10/10

Another lovely stay at this gem of a hotel. Great location, lovely clean rooms and the staff couldn't do more for you if they tried. A special mention for the lovely Wendy on reception, super nice, nothing to much trouble and a credit to the hotel.

This is the second hotel I've staying at in Southport - and easily the best. A few blocks from teh sea - so not touristy. Parking round the back - good restaurant/pub below - not noisy at night, nice rooms - 24 hour entry. This is now my 'go to' hotel in Southport. Enjoy.
