Not up to the usual standard. The hotel is going cheap on everything, from heat in the room to your breakfast experience. It took over 12 hours just to get the room up tp 20 degrees, which in the middle of winter is far too cold. When I arrived the room was so cold, you may as well have been outside. Trying to have a shower, to warm-up from your trip is impossible with the room is not registering ANY HEAT AT ALL!!!!!!! Had my wife been with me, she could not have stayed in this room, without ending up VERY sick from breathing in such cold Air. She is a severe asthmatic, and this cold is just NOT Acceptable!!!!!!! The only nice thing about the room, had this been summer, was that the old carpeting had been replaced with a "wood" looking floor that was nice appearing. I gave the room a three (3) rating, because there were some nice things had the room not been a freezer. But in the middle of winter, no carpeting meant my feet were freezing, the walls were ice cold, even the bed was cold to the touch.

Courteous staff. Internet was quick and stable. Clean rooms. Staff offered a spot to work at the restaurant, lighting was better than the room. Some options for breakfast at a decent price. Overall great experience. Mattresses were very comfortable for a hotel...

The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The towels were fluffy. The toiletries were delicious smelling, and of great quality. The beds and pillows were so comfortable that I woke feeling well rested and relaxed.

"Hazardous Treatment of Guest"

I am a Best Western Rewards member and I do not enjoy writing this review BUT, this info needs to be heard. On Sept 9 2022, my wife and I checked into a room that I had prebooked a month ahead of our stay. When we arrived, and to our dismay, a wedding party had reserved just about all of the hotel. We were placed in a room where a great deal of mold had developed directly under the heating/ventilation unit (where it's fan could blow mold spores at us in bed). When we complained, we were told there were no more rooms due to the wedding party. They did in fact have other rooms !! However a second room a few rooms down from where we were initially placed, also had mold. Reason unknown. After the front desk clerk consulted with the manager, they placed us in another room. THIS room had just started developing mold in the shower, which we did not initially notice until the next morning. Most likely due to a non-functioning bathroom fan !! This was the worst experience I ever had staying a Best Western Hotel !!! No offer of apologies, no compensation for our inconvenience of any kind .... As a minimum, they could have offered us a complimentary breakfast instead of just wanting to get us out the door as fast as possible.

Staffs are friendly! Rooms are clean and big! The location is easy to anywhere. One best Italian restaurant just nearby. Swimming pool is clean and relaxed environment. Shower water is powerful. A very enjoyable stay!

Friendly and helpful staff but rooms are small, dingy, musty and our room had black mold growing on the bathroom ceiling. Corridors had piles of dead bugs … not the cleanest, freshest place to stay. In dire need of a new reno!

"Great small town hotel"

We stayed here during a vacation to the area, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable, one of the only hotels that had pillows of varying firmness. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in the Simcoe area. The hotel could use some updating with the addition of USB ports in the rooms but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Was a convenient place to stay. Nice looking and very impressed with the outdoor pool and area. Rooms are ok. Staff is great. They are helpful and knowledgeable. Made me feel safe and relaxed. Lots of free parking for vehicles and trailers.

The hotel is quite rundown and short staffed. For busy weekends with events and weddings there should be enough staff to support the guests. Overall the people at the hotel were very kind but the rooms need to be updated and the pool should be cleaned (not swimmable)

We are staying here as there were no rooms available in Port Dover. The hotel is well situated and very clean. The reception staff are very nice and helpful. Our room is clean and well appointed. However when we booked the website said that there was a full restaurant and fully stocked bar. Neither of these is true. Happily the weather has been good so we can go out in the evening with driving. Fortunately we found a brilliant Italian yesterday evening and have been recommended another for this evening.

From my initial phone call the staff was very friendly and helpful. We did have a special request the staff was absolutely accommadating. It makes a huge difference when you are dealing with polite and freindly staff. The rooms were clean and we are very happy with our overall experience. We would stay here again 100%.

First I phoned the hotel twice, there was no answer both times. I then showed up to be greeted by nobody. I stood and waited for about 5 minutes before somebody came. The rooms are relatively clean the coffee maker cord does not reach the outlet so u have to move it. The air conditioner sounds like a Boeing 747 taking off. Other then that good

Excellent staff very committed to ensuring that we had all the information we needed. The room was very spacious and clean. Very nice pool with a large patio to sit on. The restaurant serves a very nice breakfast that is reasonably priced..

We experienced a very fast check-in service upon arrival and because of our member level we were greeted with a complimentary upgrade to a suite, it was the best arrival I've experienced at any Best Western and I thank BW Little River, Simcoe for that. Even the staff recommended Barrel restaurant was excellent!

I had no hot water nor curtain for my shower was running late for hospital apt. sheets were so wrinkled and small old blood stain. Gave me $20 off and free breakfast .. should of given me a total refund!!! was running late so no time to argue

For some reason every hotel in Simcoe is out dated and overpriced by atleast 20$. This best western has seen better days, it's clean with decent staff. Wifi is good, it has the old heating system where you control the temperature by a dial, gets to hot then too cold, impossible to set it, Stay in a different town then Simcoe I have stayed at 3 chain hotels here. There all the same, mediocre, keep looking. They had a water leak and called me and told me we're closing the water off in 10 minutes, was sleeping when they called…

I used my unions perks to stay at Little River. The price was well worth the stay. We love Simcoe area as it's very close to Port Dover and all it has to offer. We received complementary continental Grab and Go style breakfast Saturday and Sunday as the Restaurant staff had the weekend off. This was perfect for us. Monday we dined in for breakfast quick service and great food.

"Underwhelming at best...stay elsewhere"

My husband and I were in town to visit family and stayed here for 3 nights. The halls and our room needed a deep clean and everything felt/looked old and run down, the toilet wouldn't stop running, and no breakfast included. We felt it was way overpriced compared to everywhere else we've stayed and what other hotels provided. I would never recommend this place...moved to the Travelodge after 3 nights...cheaper and looked and felt cleaner and breakfast included!

Our carpets did require cleaning and we have since received our new carpet cleaner and it has been well used over the past couple of days. Also, our maintenance department was notified that there were issues with the toilet and it has since been repaired. I would like to let you know that we do offer a breakfast rate to our guests and I am sorry that this was not conveyed to you when you arrived. The staff at the desk upon our unannounced very late check in was Friendly, knowledgeable and the lobby quiet and clean. lots of wildlife out back to look at as we had a room on the ground floor looking out there. Saw a groundhog or badger, geese, rabbits, a coyote a brown owl a deer and a black cat. Amazing for being so close to town! Pool was clear sed but I would've loved to have used it. Will return another time, perhaps for pleasure!

The room was very clean and the location was very convenient to attend the Norfolk County Fair. It was also conveniently located in walking distance of restaurants and stores. Staff friendly and helpful when I needed info. The only downside is that the mattress must have been extra firm and was not very comfortable.

I was here for 2 nights and while I was hoping for a room upgrade, I was perfectly happy with my smaller queen room. It was very clean and though a little dated and noisy a/c unit, it added to the charm of this hotel. Staff in the corridors were always masked but took time to say hello or good morning. I felt so comfortable and welcomed here. Breakfast was superb and plentiful:) I will be back and this time with my family to spend more time in Simcoe!!

Air condition very noisily. Bed to high. Just one chair in room for two. Chair not in good condition- all screws loose. I can not to say about the pool and breakfast, because Coronavirus. But this what we staying for three nights, we not feel the problems.

My expectations weren't too high going to this hotel as it looked like an older hotel from the outside. But, the king room was large, clean, and updated. Lots of room for our pack and play for our toddler and a good space for him to run around and sprawl out. It was great! Everything was in working order. was very friendly. Overall it was a great stay and I'd definitely go back if I were ever to stay in Simcoe again.

Extremely Covid friendly hotel. Rooms a bit dated but felt clean. Location a bit away from main shopping area. Pool not useable. Staff was very friendly and free parking close to front door. Few amenities in the room included bar fridge and microwave.

"Unsure how I feel"

When we arrived the hotel is hard to get too. Then once in the lobby the host had no masks on to check us in ! Inside was very clean and above expectations once we saw the outside! The pool that was advertised was out of service ! The pillows were horrible we both woke up with sore necks and backs !

Due to the 6 feet barrier, some staff are able to make the decision not to wear a mask while standing in this location. However, once any personal leaves the vicinity of this safe location, masks are immediately worn. We do apologize about the pool closure again this year. However, we are awaiting upon contractors to complete the schedule work from last season. Happy news! We have ordered new pillows and will have them within the next couple of months. After I read these some of these reviews I have to say something ! that the pool has been closed for 2 years now we usually stay there every year but a lady on the phone keeps telling us the pool is closed how long does it take for someone to fix a pool!

Dear patricianZ75432F: Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your thougjhts. We understand your frustration. However, for the 2020 season our pool closure was due to COVID. At that time we were to have work done to the pool deck and the wooden decks as well. As COVID stopped all non-essential work it was pushed back to the spring of 2021. Also, our pool was closed by the Norfolk/Haldimand Health Unit as well. As you know, due to the shutdown we just experience in Ontario, the work that was scheduled for May was again pushed back to September causing, yet again, a pool closure. We will definately be opening for the 2022 season and look forward to your return visit. Sincerely, Best Western Little River Inn

Stayed in this hotel for one night. 1)The pool is closed despite the fact it is advertised as open on their website. 2)During check-in, the receptionist told us that breakfast is served until 9 A.M. We came to the lobby the next morning around 9 A.M. and nothing was available. Asked receptionist and she said that breakfast is available until 8 A.M. Needless to say that is not a hot breakfast that needs to be cooked, it is premade grabango packages. 3) The fan in the bathroom wasn't working. I don't recommend staying at this hotel.

The staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. Good location with lots of options for take out. I would love to have better quality pillows for our next stay. We will definitely visit again in the summer when we can make use of the outdoor pool.

"If you advertise a pool, it should be open"

Picked this hotel specifically for the heated, outdoor pool. We got there and found it was completely closed up. While it's understandable that some things are closed or cut back right now, you can't advertise this on your website if you know it won't be open. Completely ruined the stay for my children.

The hotel is in a convenient location but the pool which we had booked the hotel for was closed and we were not advised of that. There was food from a previous guest in the room and a used QTip on the carpet. The Air Conditioner was quite loud.

"Do not open if you are not ready - This place needs work"

Came here as we needed someplace to stay while in town. Prices where a little high, but options were limited in the area. We requested a room with a window to the parking lot when booking online. I had my dirt bike in the back of my truck, so wanted it in sight. Upon check in we were told that this is not possible and there is nothing she can do. We told her how this was a major factor in staying here and I don't need my bike going missing over night. (It's locked, but crackheads are resourceful people). What was frustrating is that there was only 4 other vehicles in the parking lot the entire 3 days we were there! Actually, that was just day 1 and they where GFL workers staying the one night. The remaining days we had the place to ourselves. So tell me this, a hotel with at least 1-200 rooms doesn't have ONE with a view to the parking lot? The same parking lot that literally surrounds the entire hotel!? It was pure laziness on the desk ladies behalf as her excuses was " all rooms need to sit for 3 days before we can clean them". SO.. had EVERY room been filled in the last 3 days before we arrived? Unlikely. Other hotels have their pools open. They failed to mention there's is not.. and likely won't be for a long time. It's disgusting. Should have discounted the room for this. Also, please look at the pictures I took. Who thought it was a good idea to repair the deck this way?! It's going to fail one day and you will be sued! Poor quality work will cost you in the end. There was no breakfast (virus excuses again), which I kind of understand.. and I GUESS they could have offered nothing, but they gave use paper bags with poor quality apples and some nasty gingerbread cream cookies. I'd have preferred a discount on the room since they didn't hold up their end of the deal. It was also funny how they set up tables in front of the counter to 'social distance' but yet you have to come close and take the machine to pay and we where handed our room cards with no gloved or mask. Each morning I picked up our 'breakfast' bag handed to me by the lady behind the deck. Over all, not a nice stay and I do not recommend this hotel/inn. It's in need of major renovations and that will take a long time. I wondered the entire building, top to bottom and didn't see a soul. No employees or visitors. Ghost town. No excuses but laziness! CLOSE FOR A YEAR OR 2, FIX THINGS THEN REOPEN.

Dear JB: We are sorry you did not have a wonderful stay with us. We could not accommodate your request for a room facing the parking lot because during the time of your stay, we had to wait 3 days between room cleaning due to Covid 19. We take the health and safety of our guests and staff very seriously. During that time you stayed, rooms had already been used. As we only have 51 rooms, and housekeeping are only in every three days, we did not have the requested availability for your room. Our pool could not be open due, again, to Covid 19 and the orders issued through Health Unit and Social Services in our county. Also, our pool is slated for repairs and construction on a new patio and this has been pushed back three months. Again, due to the health and safety of our guest, we had to close our restaurant because of Covid 19 and we opted to offer our Grab & Go breakfast bag. We opted to place tables around the perimeter of our front desk to provide social distancing measures opposed to the plexiglass barrier. Front desk staff either wear gloves or use hand sanitizer. The use of a mask for staff is optional. All high touch items are sanitized continually throughout the day, especially when it is touched by a guest. Again, I would like to apologize to you for not exceeding your expectations and hope that you are stay safe & healthy during this pandemic. Best Western Management.

All the staff were very accomodating and friendly. Clean, quiet, comfortable. The rooms are spacious. There is a fridge and microwave in the room. A great place to stay. Friendly and quick service at breakfast. Highly recommend!

We needed a room the night before a meeting due to a snowstorm, and this was the best value for money in the area. Even though the front entrance was under construction, the staff was very helpful in making sure we knew what doors to use and when.

"Uncleanliness after mistake after guffaw"

The hotel's exteroir is being renovated but they don't call their customers to tell them where to park or how to get to the front lobby. Shower was full of mold. Beware of $8 voucher sold for an $8 meal!

Breakfast is undercooked and parking is in a parking garage across the road. Hotel, room and view is beautiful. The check in staff was not very welcoming but breakfast staff were very polite and helpful. Also internet is terrible. Some days I couldnt even get on, other i could get on but it would take 20 mins to load a website.

Our establishment does not have a Parking Garage across the road. Our facility has 3 Guest Parking Lots that surround our hotel and are all on property. There is a small lot directly located at the Front Entrance of our establishment. A second lot located to the East of our Building. And a third parking lot located directly to the Rear of our Building. At this time, we do have a Paving company doing some re-sealing Touch-up work before the snow arrives, but All Guests have been directed to park in designated areas, still on property, while this work is completed. None of these areas are located Off Property. We sincerely do apologize for any and all inconvenience or confusion this may have caused you during your stay. The Breakfast Restaurant on site is a Full Menu-Sit Down establishment. It is Not buffet style. If your breakfast was not cooked to your liking, might we suggest that you bring your dissatisfaction to the attention to the Waitress and perhaps have it prepared to a better liking? We take this concern very seriously and will definitely bring this to their attention. Thank you for letting us know. We always do our Very Best to Learn From and Improve On when addressing all feedback, positive or otherwise. We should have been offered a better rate because the hotel was under construction. The mattress was as hard as a rock. When I booked the rooms I asked for the 2 rooms to be beside each other but instead I was on one floor and our friends were on another floor. However we were right about their room, I guess that was the Hotels attempt to but us side by side.

Good spot but too many issues with the restaurant open - not open. Was the reason we started to come there. 1st year we had breakfast,and drinks in bar in afternoon. Stayed 2 nights looking forward to the Hungarian restaurant they advertise about and both nights they were closed due to "technical problems" They have to get this sorted out or we will not return. If they cant sort it out people wont come.

"Don't go by the pictures on website"

My husband and I just stayed 2 nights at this hotel for a golf getaway!!! Last year we stayed down the street at the Travel lodge, we decided to try this one because it looked nicer in the pictures!! Especially the pool area!! Well lets just say it does NOT look like that!!!! No covers on the gazebos no chair pads on the furniture, hasn't been cleaned in months(sitting area) pool was relatively clean. Our room seemed to be missing the comfortable chair in the pic as we only had the desk chair!! They are doing some construction on the front of it, rooms say non smoking or your charged! Our room reeked of old smoke!! Disgusted!!!

The hotel entrance is under construction but the stay was very good. They offer a public gas BBQ and have a cute outdoor pool. Heard the restaurant had fair prices but we had brought our own to BBQ. Rooms were clean and everything was in working condition.

We attended a show at the Lighthouse Theatre in nearby Port Dover, and decided to stay here for the night. The Inn was easy to locate and quite convenient, based on it's location. The check-in was quick and easy, with fast friendly service. The room was very reasonably priced and the room itself was clean and spacious. Parking was easy at the back, with lots of space. The attached pool was clean and well looked after. We'd stay here again for sure.

This is the second year we stayed here for our event we were attending.. Open Water Challenge in Turkey Point. Close to event and easy to get too although this year there was construction. on site. Mattress and pillows need updating. Pool is a wonderful and relaxing. Very friendly service people.

"Refurbishment continues"

Our 2 rooms, 101 and 201 were both very concenient and spacious. I would recommend staying in one of these 2 rooms. Unfortunatly the shower mechanism was seized up in one room. However, the front desk staff were very good and the maintainance mand appeared very quickly. The on-ste restauranr is leased out to a third party whose menu is very limited and expensive. The wine list 3 reds and 3 whites, most of which are Hungarian. A far better option is the Italian restaurant 2 minute walk andr there is a Tim Hortons for breakfast just across the road.

"Hard to find"

The large road sign was not lit up at night so we first drove past the hotel and then doubled back.The room presented itself nicely appointed but there seemed to be a faint smell of smoke in the room although they did their best to prevent it. The floor of the tub/shower had water underneath it ,it moved like a waterbed. (not right for a shower). Otherwise no complaints.

"Another Great Stay"

We have stayed here many times before and fine that it is a great little gem. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Our maid gave me extra shampoo and conditioner and towels as I have very long hair. This year there is a new restaurant attached to the hotel called Legend of Hungary food was amazing!

"Simcoe Hotel"

Clean , quiet, pleasant hotel. It has a pool which unfortunately was closed for maintenance but I have enjoyed many times during previous stays. It has a fitness room, a lovely restaurant with piano music during the dinner hours. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Would gladly recommend this hotel for short stays.

"Comfortable enough"

We had just one night here en route from Long Point. The hotel really doesn't look very prepossessing from outside, but our room was large, clean and comfortable. Tiffany, on reception, was really welcoming and helpful. Can't comment on the food in the independent restaurant - Legend of Hungary) but enjoyed listening to the harpist (who rocks!) over a drink in the evening. Left early so picked up breakfast at the ubiquitous Tim Horton's.

"Disappointing hotel"

Hotel looked good in all the on-line inquiries. When we got there it was obvious that the place needed some up grades. Parking was cramped, the mattress and pillows were terrible. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was not included but was available in the restaurant, in the hotel....Legends of Hungary. Rather than have breakfast here we made a daily morning run to Timmies. We enjoy Hungarian food and had dinner there one evening. Disappointed in the food.....chicken paprikash is supposed to be made with chicken thighs, they made it with chicken legs, which meant less meat, more bones. The only good thing about our dinner was the harpist, he was great entertainment. Would not saty, nor eat here again.

This hotel seems new, certainly all the beds and chairs are new. The bathroom seemed brand new. I just needed to sleep and this was a quiet, comfortable stop for me. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel.

"Clean and simple"

I have been staying at this location for over 20 years when in the Simcoe area. The restaurant for dinner is no longer available, but there is a pizza restaurant just down the street that is an easy walk to get to. There are a number of room styles to choose from. The rooms on the "4th" floor are in the original part of the hotel and have easy access from the parking lot, actually being on the 1st floor. The balance of the rooms are on floors 1 - 3 and have elevator access. The 2nd floor is the main floor. The hotel has finally put in automatic doors to the main floor and reception. The reception area has been recently redone and looks very nice. I find the reception area in the summer to be FAR TOO COLD. For conservation reasons alone the temperature does not need to be this cold. The rooms that had fire places in them, have had the fire places removed which is too bad in the winter. I really liked these rooms and would specifically reserve this style. Some rooms have seperate showers from the tub. Some rooms also have small litle kitchenette style areas. There are a lot of different room styles to choose from. The rooms are usually clean, though that can not always be said for the fridges. I have often needed the fridges cleaned before I would use them. I have never had an issue with the bathrooms, they have always been clean. The pool outside is nice. There is ample regular parking, with only one handi-capped parking spot at the front of the building.

"Comfortable and clean hotel with a hot breakfast"

I recently stayed at the Best Western in Simcoe Ontario and the experience was good. We were able to check in early which was much appreciated. We had a clean , quiet room and had a good hot breakfast at the restaurant. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

"Clean and Welcoming Hotel"

Great place to stay for work, had a BBQ to cook and a patio to sit and enjoy your food. Rooms were clean and the staff friendly. The pool was a nice way to cool off after a day of work. Only downside is that the room I was in had no door near it to get to the patio and was a long walk.

I have stayed at this location 3 separate occasions. Every member of the team was more than lovely. Great tasty breakfast. My room was spotless. I slept great. The hair dryer broke and they replaced immediately. Very attentive.

"A 2 star hotel"

Old hotel, no elevators, heating appliance was turn dial radiator that was too noisy and when turned. The double room was very small with little room to mive around with two people. On cabinet aka closet is but up against one of the beds so it makes it very inconvenient if the second person requires the use of the closet. The water has very old plastic type controls and a challenge to keep water temp consistent.

Nice hotel, clean lodgings, VERY friendly staff, restaurant/bar area very nice/very clean and service was excellent. The hotel is conveniently located at the East end of town. Its close to fast food and good eating restaurants etc..The downtown core is also quite close but some might say its a "LONG' way to walk to ... take you car.

Stayed one night when visiting family in area. Have stayed here before. Room was clean, comfortable. Had 1 queen size bed, non smoking hotel, no pets. Room had large TV with good selection of channels, mini fridge, microwave, coffee/tea station. Bathroom had toiletries. Heating/Ventilation worked well. Pool/Hot tub closed for season. Wifi was good. Room was in quiet location. Staff were efficient at check in and offered express checkout. Would stay here again when in area. Close to park to view seasonal Christmas Panorama light display. Met our expectations.

"Comfy hotel, close to downtown Simcoe."

Little River Inn is an older hotel but renovated. Our room was newly done and very comfortable. The room wasn't large but had everything my husband and I needed. There was a small couch, a fridge, desk and a new television with lots of channels. The bed was great too! We will stay here again when in Simcoe.

"Stinky!"

We stayed here last night for one night ....thank goodness! The room smelled of cigarette smoke and the bathroom was even worse. We complained and were told there were no other available rooms. They brought us a bottle of Febreeze which was only a temporary fix. We asked for compensation and only received a 25% discount. We will never be back.

All I look for in a hotel is a comfortable bed and quiet room. Being a holiday Sunday meant the place was empty. The bed was like sleeping on the floor. The floor for which there was no carpeting. This was literally a one-off night.

"No "Best" anything at this hotel"

We arrived on September 01 for a two night planned stay. We were put in a room that was dated, right beside the noisiest ice machine I have heard and had a terrible musty smell . You could hear the ice machine running through the walls. I don't know if the air conditioners have not been cleaned in a very long time or what was causing the odor. We went to the front desk to be told they had no other rooms available and were offered an air freshner. There was no way an air freshner would remove that smell. It had permeated into the bedding. We got back in the car and left immediately. I wouldn't even consider this hotel for a stay.

"Outdates hotel with inefficient restaurant"

Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was a mess. Incompetent staff not knowing what they were doing. It took 1.5 hours to wait for breakfast and in some cases food never showed up. Stay away from restaurant.

"Hard pass"

I'll keep this review as short and sweet as possible, but this was one of the saddest hotel stays in recent memory. Bathroom floor was dirty; we didn't want to take our shoes off. Even better than that - the toilet wasn't sealed to the floor! Ohhh that's where the sewage stank was coming from! Noticed this late at night so no chance to change rooms, not that I think other rooms would have been better. Slept with the bathroom door shut and fan going so we weren't asphyxiated. Bed was super, SUPER uncomfortable. The cherry on top was the shower drain - was the most disgusting shower as the drain was so plugged, we ended up with water up to our shins after a brief time in the shower. This place needs a major, major overhaul.

"Sooo uncomfortable"

They advertise Queen size beds, but we had only a double and was it uncomfortable!! We hardly slept. It makes for a very tiring next day. The cover on the end of the bed was stained with who no's what also. I would not recommend this hotel.

This Best Western is conveniently located if you have an event or commitment in the Simcoe area. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would not recommend their restaurant as there are better dining options within walking distance.

"Decent Hotel"

We stayed there for 2 nights in May,2018. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is older but has been updated.We had a king room that was fairly large. There was issues with light in the room related to the drapes.not fitting correctly. Breakfast was not included and there is an on site eatery with good food.

Older property but has been fully renovated to meet BW quality. Very clean and welcoming pool area. Clean, QUIET rooms. HOTEL was fully booked all weekend and our 33rd floor room was blissfully quiet.

"Only BW in Norfolk County"

This BW is a former motel fully brought up to BW standards. Our room 101A was spacious. Room would be convenient for anyone leading a small presentation in the seminar area and the hardwood floor would make it easier to drag in equipment, etc. All front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful

"Deceptive photos"

The promotional pictures for this hotel show a pool area backing up against a modern-looking 3-story building. However, my room was not in that modern building but instead in a 1950's motor-inn carryover, which is conveniently left out of the promotional photos. Yes, the room was renovated, but there was no security at all. Whereas entry to modern hotel requires that you pass through a 24-hour reception area, entry into the 1950's wing occurs through a set of totally unsecured doors. In general, I don't like staying in ground-floor rooms, least of all when there is no type of security door. The room itself was fine, with the exception of the AC unit that was positioned to blow air directly onto the bed. However, I just don't like be drawn in by promotional photos only to find that my room is in a much lower quality building. I booked this hotel directly through Best Western (rather than a third party) and there was absolutely no specification of the rooms being in the old wing vs. the new wing. Suffice it to say that I won't be coming back to a place that deceives me in this manner.

"Great for weekend conference"

Our OMGTR classic car group got together for our semi-annual gathering. The front desk service was great and the breakfast at the adjoining restaurant was a reasonable price. Our room assigned to us smelt a bit musty and the second day there we were moved to a much better room; there was an apparent leak from the roof causing the smell.

Very modern and clean...highly recommend if you are in simcoe. Friendly staff and overall very happy with this place. I would stau here again. Dont go to the placendiwn the street it is no where near the quality of best western. This place is well worth it.

"Terrible internet"

Internet was out for over 12 hours! Not fun when you need it for work and travelling with 2 teenage boys. No compensation was given for inconvenience either. Motel itself was fine. Would have been nice to have breakfast included as it used to be.

"Skip the breakfast"

Stayed just one night. Room was great...clean and comfortable. breakfast was Sunday morning..brunch. Ordering off the menu was not available. Cost $15.35. Poor value...bacon and sausages were very over cooked as well as the scrambled eggs. Sterno flames couldn't keep the food hot..... everything was cold. The best selection was the fruit. Would suggest you find somewhere else for breakfast.

Pleasant weekend stay, room 308. Pleasantly surprised to find both a microwave and fridge in the room. TV channel selection was good. Internet was good. Room was clean and met our needs. Would have liked a room where we could open a window for better air circulation. Bathroom was OK. Shampoo, Lotion , soap and makeup removal wipes provided. Hair dryer. Parking was a little challenging due to the hotel being fully booked with a convention. Good sleep, bed was comfortable and location was quiet.

The Little River Inn is located close to shopping and restaurants. The room was very clean and comfortable. The exterior of the building is older but the room furnishings were up to date. The girl at check-in was friendly and the check-in was quick. Parking is convenient to the rooms.

Was impressed with the cleanliness and the staff was very accommodating. Didn't use other amenities as we were only there one night for a funeral but the bistro looked like a nice place to eat and having coffee and tea available at the reception was convenient in the morning. Plus parking right up front was convenient.

"Room & Staff Were Great....avoid the extra for the breakfast"

We had to go East for a funeral and needed a hotel for one night. Based on experiences with other Best Western properties we selected this hotel. We were not disappointed. Simcoe is a small town so the hotel is no more than 10 minutes by car from pretty well any place you want to go. We were given early check in and if we needed it late check out. Both front counter staff were excellent in their attitude to customer service. The room was also excellent. It was a nice size complete with a 2 seat couch. Everything seemed clean and surprise of all surprises, the WiFi was solid! We paid an additional $7 each for breakfast in the attached restaurant. I wouldn't do that again, The choice was limited and the meal itself was quite small. You get what you pay for. Would I stay here again? Most defintiely Would I recommend it to friends? Yes

Clean , functional room . The restaurant looked nice but we didn't try their wares. One night really isn't a long enough stay to give a detailed rating for a hotel. Adequate and clean not much more to add. Staff was nice.

While attending a business function had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, located near restaurants, fuel stations and shopping . Rooms were very comfortable but no free breakfast. There was a restaurant on site though.

What a nice treat to stay at an excellent quality priced just right after the investment of H-camp as I like to call Hoffman....ideal!! Very pleased overall. Room was clean, bed was comfortable except the pillows (4) were very thick and clumpy so bring your own pillow if you can. There is 24 hours coffee & hot chocolate in the lobby although there is a coffee machine in the room.

Disappointed. We've been staying here for 15 years. This year our reservation was cancelled without notice. New owners deleted names from computer that did not have a credit card reserved on file. Prices of rooms are up. The free breakfast has been cancelled. I know that on Friday 13th things are busy, but to take advantage is not fair. It's all about money.

Was very pleased overall with accommodation, except that the heating unit in my room was not working. Called front desk who was helpful in getting a service man to come in, however he was not equipped to solve the issue, and brought in a small space heater for me to heat the room. They went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Chose this hotel as it was just 15 minutes from Port Dover, where the Friday the 13th ride takes place. Lots of other bikers also stayed there, and the hotel even offered them to park under their portico out of the rain.

Friendly staff. Great restaurant on site. On a holiday it is only open for breakfast. The hotel does not provide a complimentary breakfast. We would definetely stay here again. Close to shopping. Excellent location for attending the Norfolk County Fair.

"A very good moderately priced hotel"

We stayed over Canadian Thanksgiving because the home we were visiting did not have room for everyone attending a family celebration from out of town to stay over. They were very obliging about finding us a room that was already made up so that we could check in well ahead of the advertised time and get ready for the party after a long drive.

Hotel was clean and service very good, but price paid was high tor the room. We happened to visit area when there was an event. Tried to check in to a different hotel but there were no rooms available. Hotel called Best Western and we booked room to get off the road. Normally would have looked for accommodations that better matched the price/value.

Stayed here for business. Hotel is clean and was recently renovated. Staff are friendly. Room had a smell to it, not really musty, just a "smell". The bathroom does not have a fan. The walls also must be very thin. I could not get to sleep because the people beside me were talking (possibly loudly) for a long time around 11pm. I could also hear the shower next door when I woke up. Didn't see any HVAC controls to turn a fan on to drown out the noise, so I stayed awake for a while unfortunately. Will stay here again but bring a fan or something to drown out neighbors.

I was disappointed that the outdoor pool was not open despite lovely weather in September and was told it had not been open this summer at all. I wanted to sit outside to enjoy the weather but could not access the comfortable chairs outside in the pool area. Fortunately the friendly front desk staff informed me of a patio in the back with a BBQ. Reception was also very helpful and found a charger that worked for my IPad. It was extremely noisy due to road resurfacing but that was not the hotel's fault. We missed not having a continental breakfast.

Everyone on the staff really know how to take care of there guests. Lisa and Trisha were really friendly and I feel like I have new friends at Simcoe. I stayed for 20 nights this time and really enjoyed it. The attached restaurant is also a great place to get a bite to eat and the staff there are also great.

It's hard to imagine how a hotel can sell a room that does not smell fresh and clean upon entry. But that's what they did to me yesterday. Other reviews have mentioned mouldy smelling rooms so this should come as no surprise to management, which makes it even worse. The room furnishings were decent. The bed comfortable. Oddly, the heat lamp in the bathroom had a regular LED bulb in it and appeared to be missing some of the trim inside the fixture. The one twin bed room was small. The bathroom was quite tight. The overall feel of the common area was good, but certainly not luxurious. The pool was closed for the season, but I did note the wooden pool deck had caution tape on some rotten boards, which was kind of indicative of the overall upkeep of the hotel, I think. Fortunately the front desk staff were pleasant and professional. The hotel is tired and needs attention. May be good bang for the buck, but it's far below what I've come to expect from a Best Western.

"Very cooperative "

We got the last room and when they found out our one bed room did not have a hide a bed they were able to wrangle a room switch for us. They helped us transfer our things and brought us extra towels and bedding. The wifi was excellent and the hide a bed comfy. The washroom was large and clean, the fridge cold and tv had HD channels.

"poor condition in the Room ,"

Check your room ,we had a room that was in major need of an overhall.As soon as you walked in you could smell stale smoke., Cover fell off the Air Conditioning unit . Beds were not comfortable nor the pillows. Had Breakfast in the adjoining restaurant, was good but no one liked the Sausages ,Noise in Halls when others coming and going . Back door to the Hotel was not kept locked and one could come in through it.

"Very friendly staff but some rooms smell moldy"

Great staff, good wifi and free parking. The only reason I did not give a 4 star is because my first room smelt of mold and was dusty. I had to wipe down every surface. I was changed to a different room due to me having had to make 2 reservations ad the hotel was full. 2nd room was so much better

unpon arrival there were hairs on the washroom floor and alcohol bottles in the recycling box. The fan on the air conditioner was very noisy. The hot tub was not working. The decks around the pool area contained rotting wood. They were marked with caution tape but they were still very dangerous.

This hotel was reserved by the Bride of wedding we were attending, it was clean and served the purpose. Building was not appealing from the outside, looked old and in need of sprucing up. There was an outdoor pool it looked quite nice but we did not use it. Reasonable price for breakfast in the on site restraunt.

Stayed at this hotel for the first time in 2016. Enjoyed it so much I went back 2 more times. Will be visiting another 3 times this year. Staff are friendly and professional, rooms are clean and comfortable and lounging by the pool vey relaxing. I like the close vicinity to beaches at Port Dover and Turkey Point. Would highly recommend this hotel to my friends.

Have stayed here many times. Love the pool but I noticed the patio furniture has not been updated for a few years..there also needs to be more lounging chairs. The rooms are lovely and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.

Our dragon boat team stayed here recently. They were very accommodating and check in was timely and efficient considering the amount of people they had to process. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with small fridge and coffee machine. No complaints here! The price of the room is reasonable. Don't be fooled by the construction going on as it is very lovely inside and the rooms well appointed. We didn't use the pool or the onsite restaurant. They promised us brown bag take away breakfast but supplies did not arrive so we didn't get it. We were able to have a meeting in their meeting room and they provided us with water and glasses and were very attentive to our needs. Friendly staff! I would definitely stay here again though.

When we drove up to the hotel we weren't impressed, but, once inside and checking in, all that changed. Very warm welcome by the receptionist, offered a room that would be quiet, as we requested. The room itself was exceptional, clean, bright, large, overlooking the pool, and, very quiet. We didn't have our breakfast at the hotel, but, the breakfast room did look inviting, next time we will definitely stay for breakfast. All in all, if you intend to stay in Simco, this is the place.

My dad and I stayed here because we were working at the Lynn River Festival. Couldn't have asked for a better price for just somewhere to sleep. It was walking distance from the Park and although the outside didn't look that great... our room was nice and clean. We ended up paying $100/night which was great. I would come back here next year when we're in town. Only thing bad was that he said the breakfast for $6 was not very good. Everything was hard and chewy.

The hotel is located on Hwy 3 -approximately 20m walk to downtown (30m walk to The Combine) 8m drive to New Limburg Brewery. Many fast food outlets close by and there is a restaurant on-site. Checking in was fast and efficient, the staff are friendly and parking is free and close. We stayed in a King Room - it was extremely large with a sofa-bed, big comfy chair and small bar-fridge. The room appeared recently renovated nice modern decor, the bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Based on the price you get great value for your money.

Desperately needs updating. Website pictures look much better than the actual hotel. We were very disappointed in this. The restaurant food was mediocre. We would not stay here again in it's present state

Nice hotel, do not let the outside sway you, it is still under construction The inside is completely renovated and nice. The restaurant food was good, had breakfast there, the hotel does not provide breakfast. The pool is outside only and the hot tub was out of service. No fitness room that we knew of. Room was clean and comfortable.

Excellent hotel near Lake Erie with a restaurant, internet and a lovely outdoor pool to use when not at the beach. Friendly staff, clean rooms and many restaurants nearby. The only disappointment was that the hot tub wasn't working.

This hotel is very clean and quiet. Our room was very large, king bed, with 2 windows and 2 armchairs. Very large TV. Bathroom is large with 2 sinks. There is a restaurant but not part of the hotel, no breakfast included.

"Three night stay to expore the arera"

This is a clean hotel with friendly staff. Apparently under new management. We had a great room with King Size bed and jetted tub. We arrived at 3:45 to check in to find out the room wasn't ready. After a 30 minute wait we got to the room. There is free WiFi that was very easy to connect to. The restaurant looks newly renovated. We stayed for breakfast which offers a la carte menu. No buffet. The one server was polite and as efficient as she could be since she was responsible for ALL the patrons. The breakfast were of very good quality and reasonably princed. The Hotel offers "Go to Bags" that you can grab as you leave for the day. The bag contains a muffin, bottled water and fruit. In our case an apple. There is an outdoor pool that is well kept also a hot tub that was out of commission. The wooden deck around the tub looked unsafe and was tagged out with yellow caution tape. Our room was never attended to my housekeeping even though we were out for several hours each day. The parking at the front is limited. There is ample parking at the rear with a door right there but the driveway down is quite narrow. If you have large SUV you need to be careful. I'm not sure if we would stay there again. It was nice enough and well located but perhaps somewhat pricey given the lack of buffet breakfast and other "minor" issues we had.

They are renovating right now. Most rooms are already renovated and are quite nice. Terrible view of next door neighbor's garage. Was raining when we were there and a bit cold. Didn't use the pool. Didn't use the restaurant, too expensive. One lady at the front desk is a bit abrasive. Interesting building layout.

Hotel was nice and rooms were clean. Staff very friendly and accommodating. No security though, all outside doors open from what I saw 24/7. Perhaps they are locked after hours. Convenient onsite restaurant. Had breakfast there: good variety, good food and prices were good

We were in a new or renovated room. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Great service at reception. Very quiet. Would stay again. We did not use the amenities and did not use the restaurant but they seem fine. Lots of kids in the pool.

Rooms always look nice in pictures but this one really delivered ! Outside pool was nice too, well heated. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting nearby beaches when the closer beach hotels are too booked up/expensive.

Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable and affordable and close to everything. Some of the rooms are a bit dated, but the bathrooms have been renovated. The is a pool, but I did not use it. The restaurant and lounge looked great, but I did not use it. I would definitely stay again!

"Great Hosts for Our Baseball Team!"

Our team of 8 and 9 years olds stayed here for a weekend and we couldn't ask for better service! They allowed the kids to roam free and have fun at night before bedtime and didn't once ask us to quiet them down. Outdoor pool is a nice touch too. Nice and close to Lion's Park (2 minute drive).

Have stayed here many times. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Actually, this time they were exceptional! Tiffany on the front desk handled an onslaught of incoming phone calls plus two disorganized ladies trying to book a room very well. She handed my reservation information to another staff person that happened to come along and he processed me very quickly and said I could come back later to complete any unfinished business (I wanted to change the credit card on file). Before I had a chance to come back, Tiffany called my room and took care of everything. What a pleasant experience. Thank you!

We stayed here one night while we attended a wedding in the area. Check in was very easy and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I did find the bed a bit hard. Hotel was clean. We were a group of 8 staying here and we all went to the restaurant for breakfast. Once seated, the Manager came to tell us that their "cook" had not shown up for work that morning and she would do her best to prepare our breakfast. She was recovering from knee surgery was was wearing a brace. She more that delivered. Our group had not seen each other for some time, so we were fine with the delay as we had lots to "catch up on". The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed it very much. We felt the Manager had gone that extra mile to prepare our breakfast and we very much appreciated her dedication. I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed at this hotel in Simcoe as part of a long-weekend road trip. We were not there long enough to take advantage of the on-site amenities (such as the heated outdoor pool, which looked nice) or the restaurant, but everything looked good and we would have done so had our stay been longer. As it was we were very satisfied with the hassle-free parking, check-in and check-out process, and the fresh, clean and quiet room affording a peaceful night's sleep. The high speed internet was also excellent. The hotel is also conveniently located to restaurants and also to downtown and the lovely parks in Simcoe. Overall, I recommend this hotel if you are in Simcoe, Ontario.

We were left with hardly any toilet paper and no backup roll;there were no Kleenex tissues; the clock radio was left unplugged; lumpy mattress; extremely noisy neighbors -- at midnght! Overall, this doesn't make for "happy campers" -- I would try another hotel nearby next time. Most of these issues are basic.

Wanted a nice quiet comfortable reset. That's exactly what I got. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Staff was great and the location of the hotel was close to all the amenities in simcoe. The hotel restaurant closed a bit early for me 9pm even on weekends.

2 queen beds. Very firm mattresses. Clean room and just as photo showed on website. My rewards price for the room was cheaper then the government price. Was able to get a fridge in my room. Close to restaurants and other amenities. There is an outdoor pool but it was not yet open for the season. Front desk staff polite. Parking a bit hard due to restaurant patrons using same parking. Would stay here again.

Clean, Nice rooms, friendly staff, comfy bed and great location on the strip to shopping and restaurants. Staff were very accommodating, and though I did not visit it - the restaurant looked very nice and had plenty of guests in it. Can't ask for a whole lot more than that in a small town.

We had to plan a last minute trip to Simcoe because of a family emergency. We quickly scanned Trip Advisor to try and find the best hotel for the most reasonable price. We weren't looking for anything fancy, just clean and quiet. We found all of that in the Best Western in Simcoe and a bit more. The rooms were renovated within the last 6 months and are tastefully done. Spacious bathroom with granite (or quartz???) countertops. Lots of good towels. Small fridge, microwave & coffeemaker in our room. Fabulous service. Will stay there again if we go back. Definitely recommend it and Trends Bistro (attached restaurant). Great food at a very reasonable price.

We stayed here for a hockey tournament in a nearby town. Because of the game schedule, the staff were great in arranging an early check-in and a slightly later check-out, which helped greatly. Room was clean and comfortable. Only thing that we missed was having a clock, but that wasn't a big deal and I didn't ask about it as we were only staying one night. Due to an onsite restaurant, there was no free breakfast, which is the only reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars. Every BS we've stayed at has always had a free breakfast. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good room, comfortable, clean room. Hospitable reception. Great dining, let me repeat myself, GREAT DINING, you will need reservations. Believe me. More than you would expect from rural Ontario. If I could add an 'ATTABOY' this is the place. Walking distance to good shopping and your standard fast food joints. There is no reason to go ay where else.

We were fortunate enough to stay there twice in one week, right in the middle of their lobby/common area remodeling program. I say fortunate because it brought out the best in the staff who had to put up with the installation of a new tile floor in lobby, kitchen/dining room being remodeled, reception desk being replaced, main street torn up for new utilities. They treated every guest like family with patience and understanding. Julie, the general manager, and her whole team couldn't do enough to accommodate guests. The rooms were 1st class, having already been remodeled, and beds were really comfortable. Thanks for a great stay!

Hotel was under renovations while we were there. We had a great stay. Stayed for 2 nights in room 201 first room past the lobby where they were doing renovations. We were not disturbed at all with the renovations. We had a king bed, fridge and microwave, couch and the room was HUGE. Staff was friendly. Nice warm breakfast. With in walking distance to restaurants and shopping.

"Good place to stay "

We have family in Simcoe and stay there often. We go between 3-4 different hotels as we seem to find the quality lacking for the price they charge given it's a small town. However, it was a nice surprise to see them renovating this building. It has been in Simcoe for years. However, the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. It's is a great location right on the corner of Queen and Highway 3. Restaurants, drug store, convenience store within walking distance.

"Nice hotel, recently renovated rooms, but lobby still undergoing renovations"

This was a very good choice in terms of the quality of the hotel and the location, as I had just driven from Toronto all the way down to Port Rowan (Long Point) for a business meeting, and needed a place to stay before returning home. It's located on the main strip in the north end of Simcoe, about a block west of Hwy 24 (which will take you to downtown Simcoe, or north to Brantford/Hwy 403). It's close to the local CAA (AAA, in Canada, for American readers), two gas stations (including a Petro-Can, with a large convenience store), a Shoppers Drug Mart, and various restaurants. The room was very clean and modern, with updated furnishings and a large-screen LED TV. The bathroom was spotless (the grout in the shower was gleaming white, and the room smelled fresh). Unfortunately, the lobby was undergoing massive renovations, as was the attached restaurant (apparently, there had been a fire there in May), so there were no tables to sit at for breakfast. However, the staff were able to improvise a (free!) continental breakfast of tea, coffee, instant oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, assorted pastries and banana-nut bread (which was delish). They also had a very fancy electronic coffee machine that served several types of both regular and fancy coffee, including cappuccino (I had the Coffee Crisp cappuccino, which was creamy, sweet and fragrant). The staff were friendly and helpful, and very apologetic about the lack of seating and the construction mess. They have an outdoor pool. I found the room quiet. I would definitely stay there again -- post-construction -- if I were going to the Long Point Bird Observatory. It's about 40 km from Long Point, and a very easy trip up Hwy 24.

"Hotel OK but having some renovations done"

Section of the hotel is being renovated. Drywall work being done and restaurant is partially closed currently. Older section of hotel has tarp on roof and looks like it has been there for a bit. We ended up having one of the oldest rooms there - still had a physical key for the door and it didn't lock automatically - had to use key each time to lock.

Stayed at this Hotel on several occasions over the last two months visiting family. The faculty is currently under renovation but the rooms are completed and they are awesome. The rooms have been totally renovated with renovations still ongoing. We picked Little River Inn as we were going to an event in Simcoe. It is pet friendly & we were travelling with my daughter's greyhound. The room was very large with 2 Queen beds, a sitting area with couch, desk area, bar fridge, micro, coffee maker & big screen tv. Free wifi & continental breakfast. Super clean although the bathroom was updated it was a little on the small side. Front reception clerks were very friendly & efficient. Will definitely stay here again.

I spent 3 nights here which I enjoyed. There was construction being done in the Lobby, but I was aware of that when booking my stay. I did miss the restaurant which was always available after a day spent sight-seeing but I'm sure it will soon be ready. The best place to stay if touring the wineries, visiting small communities such as Normandale and Pt. Dover. It is also a pleasure to have lunch at "David's" with a spectacular view of Lake Erie. In late September, the hawks were soaring above the bluffs getting ready for their annual migration. Little River Inn was a place I used to visit with my mother years ago with a stay overnight and a lovely brunch on a Sunday morning.

An above average hotel. Conveniently positioned in Simcoe and just 15 minutes from Port Dover. Hotel lobby was being renovated but didn't cause too much hassle. Pool was not open that was a disappointment. Get to breakfast early!!

The hotel was under renovation during our stay and was still clean,quiet and a pleasant stay. Renevated rooms are very nice and clean! Even though we didn't use the pool it was a very nice and clean area with nice sitting areas! Found bed a little hard and not much water pressure in shower for my preference. Very friendly staff too. All in all a stay worth the money!

We stayed in the Little River Inn for 2 nghts as part of a wedding party. The hotel has a main building and an attached low building which looks older. We got a chance to see 3 room types. Our room was right off the lobby, was enormous and recently renovated. Oddly, there was a coating of dust on all the room furniture. This coating of dust was still everywhere even after the 2nd day house keeping service. The included breakfast was ok - continental cold We spent quite a bit of time at the pool area. During our 3 days at the hotel, it didn't look like anyone was doing any maintenance as some glasses we saw the day before were still there the next day. Staff were very friendly, but seemed under-staffed for full operations We liked: - Friendly staff - Large updated room To Improve: - Housekeeping level of cleanliness (see comment about dust in the room) - General hotel maintenance and staff levels

Our second visit. Very nice and friendly staff. The rooms are average. The beds are comfy enough. The pool and patio is what brought us back again this summer. Plus the proximity to both Port Dover and Turkey Point. A tasty free breakfast too.

We spent one night in August. It was definitely an older hotel. Awkwardly located at the T intersection of 2 main streets in town.I was happy they noted our Platinum status and upgraded our room to a king bed with jacuzzi tub, extra towels etc.It was on the main floor at the back and was quiet even with a parking lot right there. I wanted to swim in the morning in their outdoor pool but was cut off by the pool guy who was ticked that someone was already in the pool and he had to clean it. This was about 8am and it was supposed to be open by then. Put the chemicals in at night people so it has time to do it's job. The continental breakfast was the usual and fine for us. When I think of Best Western I think of new and more classy than this one, but it was clean and stocked. Overall decent enough with a CAA or senior discount.

Rode to Simcoe and had booked only 1 week ahead. Was disappointed the hot tub was out of service. At the end of a day of riding we book stays based on hot tub availability. It would have been nice to be told this up front. It was a hot day so the outdoor pool a very welcome pleasure. Lots of seating and trees by the pool. Some leaves in the water but the pool was nice and clean. No strong chlorine smell and gentle on the skin. Check in was smooth and quick. Nice continental breakfast with tons of seating area. We do this ride annually and we would stay again. The web site did say there would be renovations so no shock there. Didn't score a five based on the hot tub issue alone.

The motel was a pleasant stop along a road trip around Lake Erie. The rooms were recently renovated and well maintained. The outdoor pool was large and the modern deck furniture really elevated the look and feel of the courtyard. The pool did open a bit later in the morning than I would have expected. But, that is understandable given the courtyard setting with many rooms overlooking it. The complimentary breakfast was a nice surprise. However, it may not be permanent as the suggestion is that the restaurant may re-open. Be sure to confirm if you are booking and expecting a complimentary breakfast. The mote is about a 15-20 minute drive to Port Dover. I would certainly recommend checking out the beach and shops.

We stayed in Simcoe while attending a weekend wedding. Pulling up to the hotel I was a little concerned as outside it's a little tired looking. Do Not let that deter you! They are undergoing renovations and once inside I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely this hotel is! Spotless, modern, bright lobby area, roomy breakfast area with very well stocked choices and many healthy choices. The breakfast bar attendant was very nice and kept the area neat and clean! I booked through Expedia and had no trouble checking in and no hidden fees checking out! Staff was very attentive and friendly! Our room was spacious, very clean and had a small terrace which we really enjoyed. The pool is very nice as well and even though we didn't have time to enjoy it, many of the hotel guests did! Oh, and the hotel was booked solid and still was quiet! We never heard a thing while in our room! That is priceless to me! I would highly recommend staying here!

Staff was great. The room was somewhat updated. Bed was comfortable. The swimming pool was dirty and cold. The hot tub was cold as well. Easy access to other small towns around. We visited Port Dover for the foot long hot dog. We drove to Delhi, Port Rowan, Long Point, Turkey Point (had lunch at Turkey Point) drove back to Port Dover and over to Waterford for a glass of wine at BonnieHeath Estate Lavender & Winery!!

We both had the best sleep we've had in months! The staff were so helpful and friendly. Forgot my swimsuit, but the pool area was relaxing, making a nice reading area. We travelled by motorcycle, so it was nice that the Inn was so close to so many things.

I stayed in one room with two other members of my dragon boat team and the room was over all very very nice. Two slept in the king bed and one on the pull out sofa. I was surpised they didn't have it made up but we brought bedding from the front desk lady and my friend made it up in the evening. Both beds were very comfortable. None of us 3 could figure out how to turn off the air conditioning for the night so I had a big problem sleeping even though I used ear plugs and a pillow over my head!!! The bathroom was great except the door was too tight to the floor and was extremely difficult to shut and open. They need to shave a bit off the bottom. When I booked the room with the 800 number there was not a breakfast included but there actually was a huge breakfast and lots of room to eat it in. Fantastic bonus! One of my friends and I spent a lovely half hour in their outdoor pool then a short sit in the hot tub. Both were well maintained.

We stayed here with our kids for a family reunion. Room was spacious and clean. The decor was a bit dated but it appeared that the property was going to be remodeled. We booked a king room with sofabed for our family but found out that the sofa was a single, so it was not suitable for 2 kids to sleep on which was a bit of a pain. No cots to be had, and no extra pillows either. So our kids had to use the sofabed anyway, which was really cramped. The breakfast was not great, the food didn't look that great and the selection wasn't the best. I would have hoped for better. Overall an average stay, but not my favorite place.

The hotel had some major spots of wear but our stay was nice. The front desk lady was very nice and switched us to a room with 2 beds. The pool area was fantastic. It has a beautiful set up. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub and louging chairs for several hours. The free breakfast in the morning was great! Eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh waffles and so much more. The only thing I didnt like about this hotel was the ants. My son dropped a cracker on the floor beside the bed before we went to sleep. When i woke up in the morning there were thousands of ants on the floor eating that cracker. We had a crawling baby in the room so that freaked me out.

I have always enjoyed staying here. Nice simple comfortable rooms and the beds are usually comfortable. This is the best hotel in Simcoe, hands down. We stayed here the last two years and will again this summer. Best to call the hotel direct for good deals. The restaurant is ok, but is closed now for renovations. Free coffee and cookies

This was our first stay at this hotel but it not be our last. OK the restaurant was being renovated due to a fire, but there was a great spaghetti and pizza place a five minute walk away. The continental breakfast was the best, hot fresh waffles (make yourself) sausages and bacon scrambled eggs. By far much more than your average continental. Your room was newly done over and I could not have ask for better decor purple chairs and a picture of a lighthouse. For those of you how know my wife you know that's perfect. The bed was very comfortable. As for the staff AAA+ friendly helpful and would go out of their way to help you. Debra the front desk manager was amazing. We had only one small issue and Debra was able to discount our stay. Thank you Debra. It was a very hot weekend and the pool was very nice, the location of the pool is ideal passersby on the street can't see you. I would highly recommend the Little River Best Western

Toilets will back up without warning due to hotel pump issues. Bathroom will be left unusable for day. Not great when it is the hottest day of the year, you are in a baseball tournament and can't use the shower. Manager solution, how about a free night stay. How will that help when I would never return. Room had also been smoked in, foul odor. Stay Away!

Best Western looks a little out-dated from the outside, but we were pleasantly surprised when inside with the recent renovations. My husband and I had the benefit of staying in the "newer" section of the hotel which had a Queen sized bed, love seat couch, and 40" LED flat screen TV in a spacious room. The room was clean, and smelt fresh upon arrival. Wifi was strong, check in time was quick, and the employee Lisa was by far the BEST, enthusiastic, an extremely helpful with any questions or concerns. Unfortunately, other employees didn't match up to her level of care and professionalism. We had a view of the pool which is cleaned every morning and we were able to enjoy a swim in the comfortable temperature water. Breakfast runs during the week Mon-Fri between 6am-9am, and on the weekends 7am-10am - which ends up being perfect, as check out is 11:00am. The spread ranges as follows; scrambled eggs, bacon( occasionally), sausage, 3 types of cereals, mini loafs of bread-poppyseed/blueberry/chocolate chip, yogurt, fruit- banana/orange/apple, waffle machine with plain or blueberry batter - side of strawberry sauce/ whip cream/ maple syrup, bagels, sliced bread with standard spreads, juice - orange/ apple, and milk. We were very disappointed with the hotel using plastic serving ware and cutlery that frequently ran out as some guests had to use multiple dessert plates for their breakfast. At the rate of $125 per night, we had expected to at least have proper dining ware. For individuals with long or thick hair, we recommend you ask for more bottles of their shampoo (2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner) as they only provided one (~15ml) bottle per room, as well as bringing your own conditioner. Overall, we would stay here again if in the neighborhood for another occasion.

I wasn't expecting a great deal after reading reviews on this hotel, but I was happy with the experience with a couple of exceptions (both food). First, the pro's: Clean, updated room Good Wifi Pleasant check in Con's The restaurant is currently closed Breakfast was sparse and all crockery and cutlery was plastic I would stay again, especially if it's as quiet as I found it

We like SImcoe and it is a good midpoint as we travel from MI to the East Coast.and back,. We have been staying at the Best Western Little River inn for about 20 years! We have stayed here with our family, friends, and as a retired couple. he pool is nice, the restaurant convenient, and it is easy to see all of SImcoe from this site. We highly recommend this Inn.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again. The room was very clean and comfortable and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was being renovated, but it did not bother us at all. Since the restaurant was closed for renovations, a breakfast buffet was included. The breakfast was good with eggs, sausages and waffles available.

My wife and I have stayed here before, so when we had to go to the Simcoe area, we automatically selected this hotel. The lady at the check-in desk was very friendly and efficient. The room we were originally assigned to was in the motel section, but we preferred the main hotel, so we asked to be moved and our request was granted. We were warned that the bathroom ceiling had been damaged by a water leak from the unit above it. It had been repaired, but not yet sanded and painted. We didn't care because the room was large, clean and had a couch as well as a bed. A deluxe continental breakfast was included and was more than adequate for a filling breakfast. The outdoor pool was available for use and there was a large patio with comfortable padded chairs for relaxing and reading. We would stay at this hotel again.

Just stayed one night for a business meeting. The hotel is average, but clean, which is important to me. I was on the second floor. It was quiet, but it was the middle of the week in February. I would rate the hotel as average, however the front desk staff were very welcoming, the hotel was clean and it was a good location, so I gave it a rating of 4!

We recently rented a block of rooms in the renovated wing for an event we were attending near Simcoe and this hotel was great. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the room was quiet, clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast included was great. Really appreciated down time at the well maintained pool with family and friends. Would certainly stay here again!

We were lucky to get a fully remodelled room on our visit. New carpet, draperies, fabrics on chairs. All looked very nice. There was a board set up in the lobby showing all the colours and fabrics being used for the new designs. The restaurant was closed during renovations but a full continental breakfast was provided in the dining area free of charge. Our only issue during our stay was the "off gassing" from the new carpet and glues in the room, with only the air conditioning unit to circulate the air, I found it quite stuffy, as windows are sealed and not able to be open. Not sure how to rectify the air quality, but something to note if you have allergies or scent concerns.

The room was clean and acceptable. The bed was comfortable. It does not include niceties such as bathrobes or even a comfortable sitting chair (desk chair only). The staff are standout however. Very courteous and helpful in making recommendations. The in house restaurant is currently out of operation. While this continues, a very basic continental breakfast was made available.

I have stayed here several time a year and usually give the hotel a 4 or 5 out of 5. But this time I found my room wasn't as clean as it could have been in the shower and the linens. Staff was busy when I left so didn't get to chance to let them know. Otherwise it's a great spot. Staff are courteous and friendly and he price is very competitive.

Spent two nights here recently. The hotel was having renovations and unfortunately the onsite restaurant was closed. However, all else went well. The rooms are clean and quiet. Very nice lobby , newspapers, coffee, teas, etc. Staff friendly. Very convenient to a number of local places to dine. I look forward to coming back another time when all the reservations are completed.

We stayed one Saturday night at this location in March. The hotel is undergoing renovations in the hallways and some common areas. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The beds were firm and we had a good sleep. Breakfast isn't included in the price but many options are nearby.

Stayed at this Hotel Feb.28, 2016 on a Sunday night for business and was pleasantly surprised. It started off with the warm reception at check in and being upgraded to a king suite by a wonderful woman that was on but I cannot remember her name, she was amazing to deal with. My wife and I went to our room to find a very clean and up to date room with the most comfortable king sized bed I have ever slept in. The bathroom was clean and good sized with a shower/tub combo. The restaurant closes at 2 pm Sundays so went out for supper, no big deal. I would recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a great nights sleep in a clean room. Would definitely stay here again.

Main lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The hotel was spotless. This is a really nice hotel to stay in. Updated and very clean. Rooms were cozy and included a fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, large tv, and best of all, it was QUIET. We didn't expect that being so close to the lobby. Beds were FIRM, pillows too soft, but we slept ok. Wifi worked great. Free newspaper and coffee in the morning but no breakfast. Tim Hortons is nearby though. Staff were fantastic. Cold drink dispenser and snacks are on different floors, quite a walk between them. Snack machine dispensed stale food. There's an upscale restaurant that requires reservations in the lobby area. Plenty of parking, and a fitness room. Hotel is on the main road as well and there's lots of local places to dine.

The hotel is externally shabby but once you find the lobby it is pleasantly surprising. So don't judge a book by it's cover. The internet was poor while I was there and a real hindrance to work. The staff was pleasant and willing to please.

I stayed at this hotel for one week. I chose it because of the Best Western name and that it had a fitness Center. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable. The staff was helpful when I arrived on the Sunday night in explaining how to find certain stores and restaurants I was looking for. The gym looked minimalist having only one treadmill, one exercise bike and one elliptical as well as a whole boxing corner with boxing gloves and bag. Since I don't box, not very useful. When I went to use the treadmill it was out of order. When I enquired at the front desk they said that the part had been on order for 2 weeks and would not be fixed before the end of my stay. I tried the elliptical but it was rickety and hesitant. Frankly it did not feel safe. That remained the bike which not my daily morning cardio workout choice. Had I known I would not have chosen this hotel as I wanted a fitness room and this did not meet my standard. Also the wifi was poor, sometimes there, sometimes not and never able to open articles. It must have needed too much juice. When I complained I was given the number of their provider to phone. I was not impressed. I think next time I will bring my running clothes to run outside and choose another hotel.

My wife and I stayed her recently for a function in town. She has stayed here on business before, I have not, so wouldn't even consider anyplace else in town. Excellent friendly service. Nice clean rooms. Convenient location. Do not bypass the on site restaurant because it is excellent! Strongly recommend!

I stayed here three nights for work purposes. All I really care about when I'm on the road is: 1.) Decent WiFi - I don't need anything blazing fast, but I would like to watch YouTube and be able to work online if I want to. The WiFi for the three nights was terrible - the ping rate showed the connection constantly dropping and was effectively useless. I tested the connection constantly, hoping it would get better, but in three evenings was not successful at getting anything consistent. 2.) A clean bed / room - As long as things aren't filthy, I can manage. The hotel was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I was very glad that the bed I was sleeping in was not covered in rubber / plastic. I understand why some hotels do this, but I sleep HOT, and end up having to sleep on a towel to survive this. Conclusion: Good place to sleep and read, not so good if you would like to have more than minimal intermittent internet for your stay.

It could have been better. Best Western as a name for its self and I felt that this hotel was of lesser rating. My husband and I were in Simcoe for a funeral, we found that the quality of the hotel could have been better.

We like the Best Western in Simcoe for its location and cleanliness. The Reception crew is always helpful, most recently making dinner suggestions and help with phone usage (International calls). Tiffany went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She was just lovely. We feel that the hotel can make a big jump ahead by offering free breakfast, as they used to do. The new ownership has made some changes that are not guest friendly. Still, we stay here for the easy access to the USA border crossing at Buffalo which gets us on to I-90 in the most efficient manner.

On a business trip. Smaller town. Nice hotel for the area. Hotel has been update but is very simple. Overall stay was very good and I would stay again. They should offer the free breakfast as other Bestwestern Hotels.

Spent one night and found the place clean and tidy, at a reasonable price. Helpful, friendly staff. Didn't get a chance to try the restaurant due to shorter hours for Thanksgiving but appearance was nice.

Excellent place to stay in Simcoe, Ontario. Close to Port Dover. Rooms very nice. Excellent hotel for pets, they have a large backyard area for walking and exercising pets. Have a nice restaurant as well. Area close to other restauants and fast food places.

The outside of the hotel needs improving. We were in the two queen bed room and it was spacious for the four of us. We enjoyed the heated outside pool and jacuzzi. I would recommend this hotel. The hotel is located on a main atreet where there are a variety of stores and restaurants.

The restaurant in hotel "Trends" was great for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Pool was large and beautiful. Hot tub clean and nice. We stayed in king room with fold out sofa. It was clean and roomy. Only issue was ice machine on different floor so was vending machine. Vending machine had no drinks just snacks. Service was very accommodating! Would stay again.

Always stay here. Rooms are large and nicely appointed. Pool is great and the restaurant Trends that is in the hotel has excellent food and service.. went their both nights of our stay.. Won't stay anywhere else when in the area..
