"Breakfast Before Meeting"

I stopped here for a comfort break, a coffee and to collect my thoughts before a meeting locally. As there was no sign of a trendy coffee shop I decided to have breakfast in the main dining area. As with most Best Western's that I have visited, this one is similar; functional but a bit drab and tired looking. The staff at breakfast though were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good without being great. The hotel is a couple of minutes from the M25 so a good place to stop at if you're looking for breakfast, like me, or a lunch.Parking is plentiful.

"Great venue for a private party/occasion"

We chose this venue to celebrate my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary and it did not disappoint! Private hire for 80-100 people with a drinks reception, seated meal, & music thereafter. The staff (namely Julie who is the events co-ordinator) who went out of her way to make sure everything was the way we wanted it, taking all the stress out of planning a party ourselves. We opted for the lunch carvery buffet for our guests and depite it being a carvery and catering for 100 people, the quality did not drop. Big thanks to Steve for perfectly cooking the beef medium-rare! It was a great day, and I'd highly recommend this venue.

"The Cellar Rooms"

A fantastic night at the Cellar Rooms for my husband's 50th birthday party. Everyone had a brilliant time. The venue, staff, DJ and word were first class. Highly recommended. I did not stay overnight although some people did and mentioned what a lovely hotel it was.

"Nice hote unless they are holding a wedding."

Nice enough hotel. But the worst nights sleep ever. There was a wedding in the conference room on the ground floor. The music played till 1 am in the morning, and was so loud the whole room was vibrating. Hotel staff was less than sympathetic or accommodating. Super unprofessional. Would never go back.

"Like home, but better."

We were welcomed by a lovely receptionist as we walked into the manor house, she was charming and friendly, the check in only took five minutes and we were taken to a very quiet room in the hotel (as we had requested only two days before the arrival). The room was superb, had a king size bed with an extremely comfortable mattress. We ordered some food and it was sent to our room without us even asking for it, the receptionist also lent us a phone charger. The area around the hotel is beautiful, the hotel is located directly on the Pilgrim's Way.

"Two nights in hot weather"

The room was very clean and had good facilities. A full iron and ironing board, hairdryer, TV and a robust life-saving fan!! Good selection of teas but just Nescafe coffee. The bathroom had accessible features - useful and discrete.

"Reigate for 9 nights"

We stayed at Reigate on a over 60,s South Australian Cricket Tour, playing 3 games a week, it was a great stay, with all the players and wives it was a little like “faulty towers”, we were coming back late for the evening meals, seating in the wrong places, but the staff were fantastic, alway willing to help and friendly. Our group gave some staff hats and a bottle of wine. It was the top of the Best Western hotels we stayed in over the 4 weeks.

"Just booked for the night!!"

We arrived at 12.00ish to people outside enjoying a family wedding. Within minutes a fight had broken out which made booking in a tad difficult. I now know why this chain is called the Best Western!! Just need saloon doors, cowboys and guns!! The hotel and room looked like it could do with some TLC and money spending on it. Did the job!!

"Attentive staff and a real feeling of being looked after"

I recently stayed here with my work colleagues and was very impressed with the staff and attention to detail. Whilst the decor, on first impression, seems rather dated the cleanliness and overall impression of being a cared for hotel was apparent. It felt as if the staff cared for the hotel personally and I received courteous and 'old fashioned' service from all members of staff who couldn't be more helpful. It felt as if I were being treated as a member of their 'family'. Wonderful. The food was excellent and room was clean with a comfortable bed. The only suggestion I would make is that the rooms at the front are rather noisy due to the busy road outside and felt quite small but the staff readily changed my room to one at the back of the hotel which was very comfortable. "Wedding reception"

We have just had the most wonderful Wedding reception at the Reigate Manor Hotel. A lot down to the friends and family in attendance, but I must most highly commend the staff at the Hotel, they laid on a DJ and food. EVERY single member of staff was courteous and friendly and it created a wonderful environment for good people to have a wonderful time. Special thanks to Rob who officiated all of our needs and requirements in a professional and prompt manner. Breakfast was also terrific as we're our rooms. We did check our the Hotel before and our positive findings were completely exceeded on our big day. Thank you guys. It completed our wedding.

"Beautiful dinner. "

I recently stayed for two nights and overall it is a nice hotel. I had salmon salad for dinner one evening which was fantastic and the waiting staff were very friendly and on the ball. The only issue I had with my stay was how hot the rooms were. No air conditioning (during the hottest week of the year) was hard. I realise that this sort of weather doesn't usually occur in England but I would also have thought that hotels have air con as standard. I've learnt to check for that in future. They did leave a fan in the room which helped so I can't fault the staff there and the room itself was spotless. Would happily stay again and recommend.

This is my second time staying at that hotel. The hotel is really clean and comfy. The customer service is great and the food well made. I particularly like the omelette dish made in this hotel; it is my favourite in the morning everytime I go there.

"Good Overnight Stay"

The hotel is in a good position - just off the M25. We only stayed for one night and found the room very clean and comfortable. The one drawback was the noise from the traffic which was constant throughout - it was a very warm night, so we had to have the windows open as there is no air-conditioning. The breakfast was quite good and was served quickly, but the older waiter could have made a little more effort to smile when asked how to use the toasting machine! The younger waiter was very efficient, professional and polite. The reception staff were very helpful. Overall, a good place to stay for one night and good value for money.

I booked this hotel to hold my wedding the package we got was so perfect when everything was set up it looked so beautiful and the wedding meal was out of this world we had a carvery for main the staff was the best getting tables served perfectly there was nothing the staff wouldn't do to make our day perfect even the next day when it came to loading up the staff was just great I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wedding venue the staff just go above and beyond thank you reigate manor for making our day so special xxx

"Cellar Room 18th birthday party - success"

We held an 18th birthday party in the cellar rooms at Reigate Manor for our daughter recently. The venue for an 18th was superb. The staff couldn't have done more, they made everyone feel welcome and helped create a fantastic successful party. The security were top rate, keeping an eye on events. The photo booth was a massive success and added to the fun. The food was ideal and went down well. All in all it was a fantastic venue and our daughter thoroughly enjoyed her 18th!

I had a big room with king bed that was very comfortable, good tv, bathroom and room clean. I thought the food was above average and they delivered it to my room which was excellent. the decor in the main hotel is a bit 1980's but it was clean and tidy. Breakfast was ok, nice and quick. Can someone sort out those door closers on the doors adjacent to the rooms which are over enthusiastic, they slam and shake the room. I do have sensitive hearing but would say that it would improve the overall calmness if they were soft closing.

we stayed over while attending the Derby at Epsom, which is about a 25 minute taxi ride away. It is about 5 mins off the M25 so is also a good overnight before heading to Gatwick about 20 minutes away The rooms are fine with nice beds, Hypnos and refurbished bathrooms with good showers. Breakfast is good and staff are friendly and welcoming Does everything that a 3 star should

Reigate Manor Hotel is a great wedding venue. The accommodation was well set up, the staff was all friendly. The food was great and well served. The bedrooms were great with plenty of tea and coffee to chose from and biscuits provided. Breakfast was well provided. Though if there had not been a discount I'm not sure I would have been able to afford the stay. Carpark a good size and easy access to Reigate and surrounding area.

I attended a wedding reception last night, so my husband and I stayed in the hotel. I couldn't really fault the staff, but the hotel is awful. It's very dated and very tired, and not worth the £99 price tag. On arrival to our room (406), we were greeted with a room that barely fit the bed in. Getting ready was a tight squeeze as there no room to move. Although I will say, the room was clean. The room faced the very busy main road, which had very fast cars going through the entire night, and being a humid night, we had to keep the window open. After a very restless night's sleep (the very small bed and the sound pollution from the cars), we went down for breakfast. There was not a single item of food that wasn't completely over cooked and beyond dry, so we didn't eat anything. On check out, the lovely lady on the reception asked how our stay had been, so I said I was very disappointed. She kindly removed the charge for breakfast and explained that our room would usually be offered to a single party, but they were completely booked out. I explained that I had booked the room back last year, so surely that should count for something when prioritising rooms. Obviously not. One to avoid!

I stayed there a few times in May, in different rooms. It's conveniently located in Reigate, within 15-20 minutes walking from the city center. A green area around it, and a gas station steps away. Rooms may look a little bit “old way” or small (for a taller person). No fridge in the room, but many other amenities (tube, coffee machine, ironing machine/board, trousers press). The biggest plus is the staff, quite friendly and willing to help. Breakfast had no veggies, but toasted bread, cereals, coffee, juices, omelet or similar stuff with ham/bacon. Restaurant available in the evenings. An “old school” bar, with plenty of good stuff. Cheers to the Iceland bartender from there ??. Several nights each week with various events (bingo, jazz). Guests from rooms 401 and plus are in the front seat, without leaving their rooms ??. Members of several clubs from nearby gather there regularly. Plenty of parking spots, and relatively short drive from/to M25. Bottom line, fair deal if in a business trip to Reigate or nearby, but too far from London for instance.

So depending what you expect from a 3 star hotel. My opinion is the business is in a time warp and still stuck in the 80s. Decor etc is just so dated but for me the most disappointing thing was the service. First impressions last and the lady we met first at reception certainly made an impression. A lesson in getting a key to you in using the least amount of muscles as possible, particularly her face muscles. This woman just didn't want to be there... so why take a job in hospitality when you know you're not really a people person. Bordering on downright rude is all I can say. I'm glad we had a room only deal as I'd say engaging in conversation would've been interesting. It costs nothing to smile but a smile and just plain politeness would make a dreary surrounding seem a lot less glum Sorry but that's how it was.

"Useful location and excellent menu"

Although the hotel exterior has a 'tired' appearance, that should not deter a visit. The bedroom was ample (a double for single occupancy), clean, comfortable and with all expected facilities including a fully-tiled bathroom with super shower and bath. Dinner in the Garden Room restaurant was of good quality and chosen from a menu offering a wide variety. Breakfast provided a buffet for cereals etc followed by a Full English (of chosen items) cooked on order. Service was prompt at all times and the minimal 'fault' was occasioned only by an odd staff member and their ability re- the English language. A Sunday night stay giving good value for the price.

"Family Stay during school holidays "

Kickstarted our Feb half term holidays very well with this lovely hotel . The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough , and that made such a difference as we had a little baby. The food was a hit, even my usually fussy child lapped up everything . Having stayed here in the past( minus family), there seems to be a remarkable improvement in the food and the value it offers .Thanks ,we will be back again :-)

"Awful!!!!!!!"

What can I say apart from my stay was horrendous! The room smelt odd. Old and unclean when I walked in. It looked ok but I didn't feel clean. The bed was horrendous. The mattress was as flat as a pancake. I got no sleep. When I made a cup of tea it left a scummy mark as I was drinking it. The breakfast was not great. The service was ok. When I complained about the bed I was told there were getting all new mattresses next week. ASI pointed out this didn't help me of my poor back! I would say don't stay here. I know I won't again. I would rather have slept in my car!

"Disappointed"

Arrived Sunday 19/3/18 around 6pm, the weather was very poor, car park had a covering of snow but only had about half a dozen cars in it. As loyalty card members we nearly always support Best Western hotels when choosing accommodation. On check-in we enquired about the usual upgrade for members when available, particularly as it seemed deserted but the young lady on reception advised they were fully booked. My husband glanced at the car park and asked where everybody was to which she replied, well we've just taken a booking from Jet2 due to a cancelled flight and they will arrive later. My husband replied but there not here yet, her response was to say she didn't know much about the loyalty scheme and they had a four poster room but we would have to pay for the upgrade. We declined her offer. On the whole the hotel seemed ok but we stayed in our room all night as the place appeared empty but are disappointed that the hotel puts last minute flight cancellation bookings before it's loyal customer scheme.

Stayed in the hotel with my partner. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Will definitely come back again. Excellent in every way, faultless. I rarely leave reviews, but had to make an exception this time.

We stayed here to be close to Gatwick airport. Although the interior isn't great and could do with some modernising, the hotel itself is not bad. The rooms were clean and fairly spacious and the beds were comfy although small. Tea and coffee making facilities as well as shampoo and body wash were provided. All the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful. There was a good menu at the bar and the food was delicious and fairly reasonably priced. Would stay here again if we needed a hotel near the airport.

"The Cellar Rooms"

We just wanted to write a review and thank the whole team at Reigate Manor/Cellar Rooms for making Duncan's 50th birthday party a great success on 24th February. He had a fabulous time as did all our guests. We had great customer service from the Events Team before the day and from Manuel and his team on the night. We had a lot of people who are experienced partygoers attend and they were saying ‘ this is the best party I've ever been to' ‘great food' ‘superb venue' ‘ you've raised the bar high' Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the photobooth and Jo was excellent, we have lots of fun photos that we'll treasure. Chris the DJ was fantastic too and got the music volume and mix ‘spot on' and got everyone up dancing and singing. The Cellar Bars are certainly a hidden gem in Reigate and we are so pleased we found them to celebrate Duncan's half century. The night couldn't have gone any better. We hope you did well too out of the bar and hotel bookings (we think about 12 rooms were booked) You should be proud of the team and the venue. Thanks once again

Stayed here while attending a family celebration. Reception rooms, lounge and bar area are OK but the guest rooms are in need of an update. The jewel in the crown is The Cellar Rooms venue, this was fantastic and clearly has benefited from investment. Breakfast was full English buffet which was good, there was also a good selection of fruits and cereals.

I stayed here for two nights 14/15 of February. Check in was okay. My room was quite old and tired looking and looked over the main road, which was just constant noise all night. The mattress was awful with no support at all, sadly didn't have a decent sleep at all. The bathroom was fine, and the shower was excellent as were the huge fluffy towels. The coffee/tea tray had enough sachets for several cuppas and they supply two lots of biscuits which is a bonus. I did order room service which arrived very quickly and hit the spot. Check out was quick and smooth. Advice would be to ask for a room not facing the main road.

If you set your expectations right, this hotel is fine. It's close to the M25, next to a petrol station, parking is good, staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are...well, fine! It is 3-star, but you are paying 3-star prices. There was a jazz band (old-time jazz) playing beneath my room until 10.30, and it was pretty loud. I could have got annoyed, but frankly I just got on with it! It's an older building, without newer hotel sound-proofing. Breakfast - good staff. Perhaps my Full English was a bit over-cooked, but it was a decent portion size.

Great Christmas day lunch. Been a few times on Boxing day and never been disappointed. Didn't do justice to the cheese and biscuits as too full up by then. Our bottle of wine was very reasonable and extremely nice. Plenty of lovely food, nice gifts, good atmosphere. Very good value. Very nice staff. No idea what it's like as a hotel!

"Very disappointed "

Arrived to be told by the receptionist there were a number of functions on tonight and there would possibly be loud music until 1am.. this was the first we had been told about it - it was not mentioned when I booked a week ago. Dropped our luggage off in a very drab and dated room close to the said functions and went to the bar. Here we waited 15 minutes or so before going to reception and asking if someone could serve us..!!! Ordered bar food to be told 10 minutes later neither of which meals were available - when our food finally came it was practically thrown on the table by a very disgruntled waiter who was clearly over stretched with the other functions.! As a best western platinum member who regularly stays at best western hotels around the country on business I strongly feel they are not paying normal attention to their valued customers - I would not recommend this hotel to family ,friends or fellow work colleagues

Short stop, hotel was as expected - good parking, close to M25. Easy check in and out. Room and bathroom reasonably spacious, and very clean. TV didn't work, but everything else was OK. Drinks were expensive.

Hotel very accommodating from first time of enquiry to the day and evening of stay. . Lunch and beverages during the day good choice. Use of the conservatory for sales team meeting during the day and joined the Murder Mystery Christmas Meal and evening entertainment. Was great fun. The 3 course meal and choice of wine/drinks excellent. Staff extremely welcoming, very friendly and polite. all 6 rooms were great, especially mine (401) !

Attended with family members for Sunday Christmas Lunch. The food was buffet style and excellent. Great fish starters. Cooked meats served at buffet by chefs were good and a good range of food. Something for everybody. One of our party is vegetarian and a special dish was prepared for her. The staff are amazing, very efficient and pleasant. Will book again for 2018

"Xmas Dinner Dance"

Given that we booked the room 3 months in advance, on arrival we were given a room with a sprung mattress, broken window, noisy radiator & bathroom (the noise was unbearable). On complaining the general manager (Vikas) solution was to turn off the radiator. After requesting an alternative, we were given the option of a twin room or a refund. Sadly we accepted the twin room, which was quiet but was also sub-standard accommodation, no soap in the bathroom and the toilet did not flush. The beds were unbelievably uncomfortable and my wife had insect bites the next morning. The food served at dinner was very poor quality, cold & badly presented. Breakfast was OK however. The barman at the function room bar needs retraining on how to smile and speak to customers who were out to enjoy a Christmas get together. We were given a discount on our room (£20 approx.) which fell far short of any compensation for a ruined night and a Christmas party to remember for all the wrong reasons. My advise to anyone contemplating staying here is not to, you will regret it.

"Long wait for our meal"

Three of us had a meal in the bar prior to attending the very good comedy club held at the hotel. The food was very nice and the waitress who served us was great. However, the hotel was very busy due to a Christmas function and this resulted in us having to wait over three quarters of an hour for our meal. When I politely asked one of the people behind in the bar whether we had perhaps been forgotten because we had been waiting for so long I was rather roundly told they they were very busy. A simple apology for the delay would have been appreciated instead of what felt like a rebuke for my enquiry. It is likely that we will therefore chose to eat elsewhere next time we go to the comedy club.

My wife and I attended a dinner dance function with friends, and stayed overnight. The function rooms are good but the food and bar service are average at best. I understand that delivering food on a large scale can be difficult but that does not excuse poor quality. The staff were great though, they just needed a few more people. Rooms were nice, comfortable and clean but sound proofing was nonexistent, we could hear people's conversation in the next room. Breakfast was excellent however, and again staff were great. Overall I was a little disappointed, just because it wouldn't take much to make this a really good hotel. The staff made a two into a three.

I went with a friend for Sunday lunch. The venue is very pleasant, with plenty of staff to cater for the guests. The staff were all very pleasant, very quick to notice when you had finished with your dishes, but not rushing you at all. The food was very good, as ever. They have a help-yourself buffet-style starter table, which is always delightful. You select your choice from three roasts, plus plenty of vegetables, gravy, etc., and the largest Yorkshire pudding you would ever wish to see. The choice of puddings was very good, and this is served to you at your table. It is a set-price meal, and I think that the cost is very good for the quality you are given.

Stayed one night at the Reigate Manor. Good sized room with large and confortable bed. Clean and functional bathroom. Nothing flash or luxuriant but perfect for a one night stop on business. Big plus was able to leave car in hotel car park and walk in to Reigate for meetings during the day. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast OK.

This is an average three star hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom decor was slightly dated however overall it was extremely clean. The cooked breakfast was not prepared well on the first morning but improved slightly on the second morning. The cold options (cereals, yoghurt) were limited in choice but well presented. Overall I would say if you can accept the limitations of the breakfast this hotel is alright to stay at if travelling through or attending a local function.

Very friendly staff and the food has improved in the last few weeks, the rooms are clean and the WiFi is good. The portion s for the salmon and scrambled eggs were quite substantial, and if you need Petit pastry you have to ask for it, which is great as it does not sit out getting stale. I met th general manager and he was fantastic, between him and the staff they cannot do enough for you. Would I stay here again? Absolutely

"I was dreading this and it met my expectation"

This was my 'give them one last chance' visit to a Best Western. They have messed me about on several occasions in several locations and I had a n expectation of another bad experience and I wasn't disappointed. I had driven from Durham and arrived around 1930 on a sunday night ready for a nice meal, a pint of beer and my bed. The car park is spacious and accommodating (although the mini spaces are a bit disconcerting) and the garage next door is very well located for anything that you've forgotten or that the hotel cant provide. Within two minutes the receptionist (not exactly rude but very brusque) advised that there would be no hot food as the gas was broken although they could do cold food from the menu. Incredulous I went o my room to find the key wouldn't work and returned to the receptionist who resolved my key issue (needess to say without a smile, apology or any other sign that she remotely cared). The room was fine, standard, corporate and had everything I needed - I have to say the towels were excellent. I left my room and drove down into town and had a nice meal at Prezzos. Returning to the hotel I thought I'd avail myself of the cold menu and order a dessert with maybe an accompanying beer. After much searching the waiter returned with a sorrowful excuse for a lemon mousse which I declined - there was no other choice. After declining m BW travel card (previously sent to me by Best Western to recompense me for previous inconvenience) I also decided against a beer at which point the duty manager roused himself from his comfy armchair by the bar. It was clear that he wanted a confrontation and was intent on vehemently defending the fat that his hotel was unable to offer any hot food. During his tirade I discovered that they hadn't had gas since the previous day and as a result they had decided that a chef was unnecessary so my dessert was the creative accumulation of the waiting staff. I pointed out that in most service industries if you know in advance that you cant deliver a part of the promised service you normally contact your customer and advise them so that they can either accept the situation or decide to take their business elsewhere. It took a couple of attempts but he finally relented and accepted that he should have advised me in advance and that this wasn't great service. The breakfast was ok (somehow they managed to resolve the gas issue overnight - a miracle!!) not special and at £11.95 not cheap - but the scrambled egg had obviously been cooked on something. Checkout was anonymous - no asking how my stay was or if everything was in order - just a copy of y invoice and another swipe of my card. So if you like fluffy towels and a big car park go here

Stayed here for 3 nights. Was very friendly and staff all helpful. Very comfortable bed, room large. Yes is a bit dated but size of room and friendly / helpful staff more than made up for this. Best place stayed in for a while, beats many higher rated hotels stayed in over last couple of years.

"Attended a wedding"

Attended my wife cousins wedding and decided to stay with our three year old. The room was very adequate and was more than comfortable for the three of us. Breakfast is very good and with a great selection of fruit and cereal for the health eaters. As a wedding venue it caters very well it was also a fabulous wedding breakfast terrine, lamb and Elton mess was all delicious. All in all was excellent!

The rooms at this hotel are standard en-suite but very comfortable. The breakfast are very good.. There is plenty car parking space and the hotel is very close to the m 25 and Reigate is an interesting town.

V.conveniently located, just off the M25, but far enough away not to be aware of it. Hotel reception / bar & staff all v.amenable. Room v pleasant & reasonably sized. Breakfast unhurried(newspapers available) & good - full English offered, but not taken up. Car parking easy & convenient to petrol after exit. If in the locality again would definitely return.

"Comfortable stay."

We were visiting family in the locality and chose this hotel for the fact that it could offer a twin bedded room as opposed to a double bed and put u up which budget brands offer in this area. Yes the decor is a little dated, but there is good reason to have patterned carpets to hide the spills from careless guests. A comfortable room, very clean, super shower over bath and big fluffy towels. We did not eat any meals there. We would return.

"Ok hotel for price"

Stayed for 1 night and hotel was fine on the whole, good breakfast and clean spacious room. Our only complaint was that after checking in we came down to the bar for a drink having had a long drive on what was a very warm day only to be told that at 3pm there were no draught beers available as the all the pipes were being cleaned!! This is a job that should have been done prior to the bar opening and definitely not in the middle of the day when customers are wanting to buy a pint. Sadly therefore we had to go to the adjacent Pub for our drinks, as ex publicans we would always have done this before we opened and strongly feel that this needs to be addressed so the hotel does not again lose valuable custom to neighbouring establishments. Have rated service as low only because of this failure, other service was very good.

The hotel and facilities are great. Not a modern hotel but that's a good thing as the place has character. Breakfast selection and meal great value for money. Staff very good and well.presented . The only criticism was that the room was far too hot and there is no air conditioning and the air conditioning in the restaurant wasn't on .

Our son had his wedding ceremony and reception at the hotel. They couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent, the service excellent. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast very nice. Will certainly be recommending this hotel to friends and family. I had a problem twice with my room key and it was sorted immediately. "Lovely charming hotel"

Very nice hotel with good clean rooms. Stayed in the family room very spacious but a bit of a trek when you have to cart buggies and suit cases up and down stairs. Family room is located over a function room there was a wedding on but we didn't hear a thing. Nice breakfast with very friendly staff. Have to mention Niamh who was very helpful us with our young one.

"In Desperate Need of Renovation"

Our friends from Holland were staying at the Manor Hotel to see relations living in the area. We drove from Devon to meet them for dinner on a Saturday night. The receptionist was undergoing training, but really could have been more friendly and her nails were extremely long, (pointed talons) which we found really off putting. Anyway, our room overlooked the main road and as the double glazing didn't fit properly it was very noisy. We asked for another room but they said they were fully booked. We did notice later, as we waited for our friends in reception, that people were still arriving so I'm sure they could have moved us. Luckily we only stayed one night. The ground floor is not bad furniture wise, but the carpets need changing. The rest of the hotel seems to be caught in a 1970's time warp. Dirty carpets in narrow corridors (more suited to a pub), no lifts. The springs needed replacing in the chair in the room. Very old dated furniture and no air conditioning (fan). The hot water was noisy during the early hours and inconsistent. The bed was awful, but the pillows reasonable. Carpet in the room again more suited to a pub. Breakfast was good and I have to praise the staff in the bar (from Iceland) and restaurant - extremely helpful and courteous. Looking at old photos of this Hotel, it was obviously beautiful, with a lovely garden now a massive car park. We will not be returning until it is modernised - such a shame as it could be outstanding.

"Worst Sleep Ever. Expensive for what you get.."

I stayed here for 4 nights with my work colleagues as we were in the area on business. The beds are so uncomfortable every time you turn you can feel and hear every spring. The hotel is conveniently located next to an ESSO garage which thank god had a costa express.. I needed a pick me up to take along with my muscle relief every morning due to the poor quality of the mattress. The hotel itself is located next to a busy road which is very noisy. The bar and restaurant prices are as you would expect extortionate but there are other local bars and restaurants nearby with far better choices. There is ample parking to accommodate guests which is free. My boss loves best western (my boss booked the hotel) but personally I would not want to stay in another best western again! There is a travel lodge not far from here and although it's basic and does not have a bar/onsite restaurant you are guaranteed a good night sleep (which is what you book a hotel for!) and a bar and a variety of eating establishments are not far from the hotel. Trust me when I say do not book this hotel! You will seriously regret it!

"Fairly late booking for a group that changed upto the last minute"

I booked for a group really quite late which had even later room requirement changes. I must say that the efficiency of the booking staff and the flexibility of the reception staff was excellent. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms lovely. A very flexible approach with a late bar certainly suited my sporting group. The breakfast being served A La carte was a welcome surprise with quality of produce top rate. I will be looking to bring my group back there next year and recommend that any groups or fewer use this hotel too!

"Disappointing"

This was a return stay at Reigate manor and I must say we were disappointed. My cousin was woken in the middle of the night by someone cleaning outside our bedroom window, we had to request three times for an exta sheet for the beds, our toilet didn't flush very well. The staff did try their best on the whole.

We were a group of 51 people who were severely let down by a prepaid coach hire company but the extraordinary help given to us by the hotel receptionists namely Ms Debbie & Mr Daniel was amazing. Without their help, our stay in England would have been a disaster. The hotel is clean, breakfast excellent, ample parking, bus stop in front of hotel, petrol station next door. "Ok location but needs updating "

The rooms are very dated with tight corridors. Other hotels in the area were fully booked. No air con in rooms so they can get stuffy. Not uncomfortable but extremely basic. Would expect better of a best western

We stayed here for six nights with a group (36 persons + myself). The hotel is clean, the rooms slightley dated, very nice staff and good food. If they get more twin rooms/zip beds it will be great for larger groups.

Stopped here after having car trouble driving down from Cardiff back to London. Very building and nice decor. Manuel at the bar was very friendly and helpful. Nice range of rums too. Service is always important and it's good when the staff realise this and act accordingly.

"Friendly stay but bring earplugs "

This is a nice hotel with friendly staff and a relaxed feel. It is not far to walk from the train station and has a good bar and outside seating overlooking greenery. My room was fine, if a bit dated, and very roomy. The internet was easy to connect to and worked well. The main negative was that the room was not very sound proof. I could hear a family a few doors down laughing and chatting until past midnight. The door at the top of the stairs bangs shut every time someone comes through and you can hear every word of people talking in the corridors (which they seemed to do at all hours through the night). I would use this hotel again but next time bring earplugs.

A very convenient hotel in Reigate . Ensure you call the hotel when looking for the price as booking sites may not be the best value Staff were very helpful and rooms very clean with good facilities. But only a fan in the room, which is not strong enough when we have high temperatures. I had a quiet room on the ground floor away from the celebration facilities!

First things first - we stayed on a Saturday night after attending an afternoon function and thought we could spend the night down in Reigate rather than trekking back up north that evening. When we checked in the receptionist told us that there was a party going on til 1am and to expect noise and there were no spare rooms to move us to if that was an issue. Sure enough we arrive at our room which is located directly over the DJ and we could hear every word of every song as well as many conversations of the guests. I was pretty disappointed that the hotel knew we would be disrupted but didn't mention it until we arrived when it was too late to make an alternative arrangements. Clearly the company policy is to get the occupancy rates as high as possible and hope for the best on the customer service front. I spoke to the duty manager the next morning who was reasonable about it - he pointed out that they do write into their T&Cs which covers them legally of course. Anyway, he agreed to refund me half of the price which I was a little disappointed in, but a reasonable offer to rectify on the spot at least so I accepted. In terms of everything else about the stay PROs Pillows Shower Tea& Coffee tray CONs bed decor too hot and couldn't open the window due to the party

Our room was comfortable and clean, perhaps a little tired in places. We had asked for a quiet room but there were some very noisy neighbours next to us who were talking and laughing from 3am to 5am so unfortunately we did not have a good sleep. The very good breakfast made up for it, definitely worth booking.

room was nice but pretty basic cost us around 84 from trivago.. the meal which cost us £55 was really lovely and reasonable priced. scallops, chicken and chocolate moose... the bed was comfortable and the tea they supply you with is really nice.

"Overnight and Carvery Deal"

We had the most comfortable stay at the Reigate Manor hotel, we were staying overnight to attend our friends wedding reception at Reigate Golf club. I can not express enough how excellent the 3 course carvery was, my husband and I were delighted with the food on offer, with lots of cold starters as well as soup to choose from and the outstanding main course and dessert(s). Breakfast was also very good and the staff very helpful. All of this for just £89 - we highly recommend a stay here!

Just been put into hotel for sleep shift between night turns not good might as well slept on station. Cleaners banging doors letting doors slam behind them staff outside kitchen shouting slamming car doors had to have window open as room was like oven but oven would have been quieter hope not to be placed there again

"Lovely staff, needs a refurb "

Lovely check in and waiting staff but a shockingly out dated family bedroom. We needed to move a side table from in front of the steps of the bunkbed so our small daughter could climb up. Very hard mattress on the top bunk and fan that didn't work in the bathroom (room 403) The best thing about the room was the shower and enough towels for an army. Excellent omelette for breakfast and lovely variety and choice but very dried up bacon and eggs.

Friendly and efficient reception staff, booking in was easy and everything well explained. Our room was a bit dated but we did have a family room for just two of us. Bathroom was exceptionally clean and well equipped. We were there for a function and the evening meal was good and the service first class. Very hard working and pleasant waiting staff. Breakfast was also good and all in all value for money. Would stay again.

"It's like the Alan Partridge Travel Tavern but with less helpful staff"

Check-in was a breeze, and that's about the positive thing about this past-its-sell-by-date hotel. The rooms (I saw several) look like they've not been updated since about 1985. The beds were tiny and unsupportive, and the TV didn't work. That's not the worst thing. Staff who seemed not to be bothered to help resolve matters was the worst thing. Some of the staff were perfectly pleasant, but if I report a problem, in a hotel that's charging nearly £100 for a dated, tired-looking room, I would like someone to deal with it. If this is "Best" Western, I'd hate to see their worst.

"Wonderful Wedding Day"

We were married at Reigate Manor Hotel on Saturday and from the moment we checked in on Friday the staff could not have been more helpful to us and our guests. We were made to feel totally at home and nothing was too much trouble...even last minute additional guests! We decided to have the hot and cold buffet food option and everyone was complimentary about the quality and quantity...not an easy task for a wedding party of over 100. Thank you to Rebecca and Annalise for helping to pull all our requests together and a special thank you to Roland, the duty manger who not only acted as our MC but was also on hand for the entire weekend to deal with every question we had. We had an amazing wedding day and our guests have all said what a brilliant time they had...what better recommendation could you give to a wedding venue.

"car club dinner was a great success"

For several years now the car club has held its annual dinner at the Reigate Hotel. Coming back again year after year says everything really. It is very good value, the food is nicely cooked English fayre and the staff are very attentive. I ordered a 'special' meal in advance and that was very good too. We hope that we will be going back again next year.

"Couldn't have been happier "

Had the best stay in this hotel. Stayed for a 8 nights. The staff are wonderful and on hand to do anything. The room was fantastic. Yes a little dated but it didn't matter. The shower was probably one of the best I've had. I wish I'd have left a note for the staff that made my room up everyday. It was nothing short of fantastic. Slept well. People moaning about the tv not working.. they all work you are just not using it right. The bar area is so nice to sit in in the evening and the breakfast in the morning was a huge range of things. Thank you again.

Lovely hotel, reasonably priced, staff were very accommodating and happy to help! We went for a wedding and check in wasn't until 3pm but they moved it forward to 1pm so we could get in the room before the wedding. Breakfast was lovely, would stay again!

"One night stopover"

Stopped for one night, despite a great probably Christmas party going on the room was perfectly quiet. Good clean room much better than som BE hotels I have stayed in in USA! Had a meal in the evening in the restaurant which was absolutely excellent and very reasonably priced. I had to leave too early for the breakfast but a very good continental breakfast was delivered to my room at 6am. All in all and excellent hotel and well worth stopping here.

Not had much exposure to staying in Best Western hotels but if this is standard then I'll not be booking anymore. Room was ok, booking in was with the most miserable person I'd met in that role . What wound me up more than anything was that the corridor where my room was had a couple of trays outside of doors where guests had room service (not unusual). But 12 hours later the trays were still there, it's not hard.... tidy up, if you can't sort a simple bit of housekeeping then how can anyone trust that other areas of housekeeping are being done/completed in a timely manner.

I organised a Mad Hatter Charity ball at the Reigate Manor Hotel which we held on 19th November. Here is the email I sent them today. 'I'd like to say thank you so much for all your help in making the ball such a success on Saturday night. You were endlessly helpful and patient with our many demands and questions in the run up to the event. And on the day, the support we got was tremendous. Chris who was the duty manager during the day bent over backwards to help out and coped admirably all the last minute changes and then triple checked that we'd got the place names matching the table plan and spotted a couple of anomalies. And the duty manager in the evening, Ronald, was also really helpful. Dinner went without a hitch and many people commented on how good the food was and then your poor staff had to work round a myriad of drunk and exuberant people carousing on until the early hours alongside us trying to dismantle the room so you could get it ready for Sunday. I hope we didn't cause too much disruption. Apparently everyone enjoyed themselves so much they want me to do it again next year… and assuming you'll have us of course. Thank you from the bottom of my heart – you've made my life a lot easier. And we smashed the target of £17k and it looks like we got in excess of £23k which I will be able to confirm later this week and was in no small part thanks to the hotel.

The charity ball we attended was a really great night ! The events room was lovely and the food served was good . Staff were very helpful, especially the events manager on duty . We had a family room which frankly was very dated and needed an overhaul , but was clean and functional . All in all a pleasant experience .

This hôtel, situated up a hill just up from Reigate station, Is really rather decent and great value for money. I found the staff very friendly and the room was big and well appointed. I gave 5 stars as I found nothing really to fault, especially at the price. I wouldn't hesitate to return there

"Lovely hotel"

Great hotel. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast, good evening meal.Room clean . Overall a good stay. The staff went more than the extra mile to help. For example we needed to be somewhere the next day the reception ordered a taxi and suggested the right time to go to miss traffic. At breakfast one of the servers gave me loads of information on what's on in reigate to visit and reception gave me a map and information on parking for free. Great atmosphere at hotel all round well done .

"Wedding ceremony and reception"

Very helpful staff, very clean warm and well decorated. Rooms are good size the showers are amazing. Breakfast selection is amazing and full English is cooked to order. Plenty of parking spaces at the hotel, conveniently located 1 mile from junction 8 of the m25.

Stayed for one night, which is enough, regrettable our room was tried looking, chair was ripped, the mattress was very poor, you could feel the springs through the mattress so not the best sleep was had.

The Reigate Manor was no exception - staff were extremely friendly and helpful, food was excellent and apart from an uncomfortable bed the room was comfortable.

"Fantastic place for a celebration"

We celebrated a family 80th birthday over the weekend, with birthday cake in the lounge area in the afternoon and then the Dinner/Disco in the evening. It could not have been more fun! The hotel is homely, clean and cosy. The staff were lovely (Rebecca in Events especially helpful) and the Dinner/Disco could not have been better! The DJ played a lot of our pre-submitted requests which made it even more special. Excellent set-up and dance floor. We were only a small group so it was great to be able to join in with this event. Highly recommend to all looking for somewhere to celebrate a get-together with others doing all the work!! Thanks so much.

Great friendly services in the Bar ,Restaurant and upon Check-in. A perfect place to stay the night if you are passing through Reigate area. It was spotlessly clean, Rooms were very pleasant although a little outdated in some areas but perfectly adequate. Hasn't got very much style but the excellent Service made up for this.

"A wonderful wedding day"

My wife and I booked the Reigate Manor Hotel for our civil cermony and the wedding breakfast. From the first enquiry Rebecca looked after us in a very professional and caring way, making sure that we felt special and not just another booking. Her organisation was perfect, everything we asked for we got. The day was flawless with our wedding party having a superb meal served by the most attentive staff. They were all brilliant! The bridal suite was superb as was breakfast next morning. I would highly recommend this venue, one of our guests wants her wedding there! "A hotel that's living on its past"

The front of house representative on the morning of my departure was friendly and helpful - a complete reversal of when I arrived. Excellent porridge. Upon arrival I found the front of house representative surly and lacking skills in welcoming guests. My room overlooked the busy A217 and the constant traffic resulted in a sleepless night. Poached eggs were on slices of bread that was insufficiently toasted. Cracked bath panel; no toilet brush in the bathroom. This hotel does not, in my opinion, warrant the star rating it currently holds

I stay here one night each week and am never disappointed. The team are very friendly. Good food is available at the bar and the rooms are clean and tidy. It's nice to have a proper power shower in the morning! Strong wifi signal also helps. This hotel is highly recommended

"weekend stay"

stayed here fri/sat evenings for a masonic event. rooms as you would expect from a hotel chain-clean and tidy. ample parking and convenient for gatwick airport and a mile from the m25. we really enjoyed our stay. what really makes this hotel for me are the very pleasant staff particularly one of them- mano who deserves a mention, smiling the whole weekend and nothing was too mush trouble.

Last weekend we had a drinks and buffet lunchtime party for family and friends. Everyone commented on the good food and the friendly and helpful staff. The conservatory was a lovely room for us with the bar just round the corner. We stayed here recently for a couple of nights, due to other commitments we didn't use the restaurant apart from for breakfast which was delicious with a good selection. The rooms are quite dated but they are spotless and the staff were polite and helpful.

From the moment we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful.The room was clean comfortable and a good size.Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and well presented. "Boring afternoon tea"

Had afternoon tea for my mothers birthday, very stale and boring choice. Coffee was cold and when we asked it to be changed it still came back cold. Not worth the money, and they don't tell you they add vat on the day which isn't in the price they tell you!

"Wedding Stay"

The room was fairly well provided for but could do with some improvements. It is obvious that the rooms are clean and tidy, but the decoration and/or facilities are a little 'tired'. If my room was an example of the rest of the hotel the windows need refurbishing and Air conditioning would be helpful. It looks as if some serious financial investment in what could be an excellent hotel, is sorely needed. Switches for lighting did not all seem to work correctly, but the room generally was on a par with most other hotels these days. The TV did not work very well as the batteries for the remote were almost flat, after jiggling them around, it worked a bit better. Attention to detail here! I have to say that the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout, even pointing out that it might be a bit noisy as they had 2 weddings booked at this time! The bed was very comfortable and made the stay very pleasant. Breakfast was prompt, and very hot but there could have been a bit more of it. Service at breakfast time was excellent.

There are not too many hotels in Reigate and even though slightly remote from the village this hotel works well as an oasis after walking here from the village. The staff do all they can to keep you happy and that is great. The walking is not an adventure in itself but the traffic is challenging; swishing by very close and there are no margins. Do not show top with a trolley or wheelchair.

"Not what we expected"

already been let. Eventually we were allocated another "accessible" room which turned out to be very small, inadequately ventilated and very scruffy and dated. The bathroom was badly designed and desperately in need of renovation. Drinks from the Hotel bar were very expensive and not good value. A plus point was the breakfast which we enjoyed. The hotel needs refurbishment and airconditioned bedrooms.

"Outdated"

As others comment this place desperately needs refurbished and, that lack of investment, seems to permeate into elements of keeping on top of some basics. So, for example, I was served an out of date bottle of beer from the bar and, when taking coffee from the machine in our meeting next day, we were all met with, frankly, rancid coffee. When reporting it there seemed acceptance that it had "old" stuff in it. The bedroom I had was old fashioned and the bed was one of the least comfortable I have slept in. Curtains were not black out so daylight joined the room early. On the plus side the digital power shower was great. Breakfast offered cooked (or at least plated) to order choices. I had smoked salmon with poached eggs but was put off by the absolute amount of water pouring from the eggs when cut into. Note that they do not have enough parking for all guests if accommodating a couple of meetings before all other guests have checked out. I have said this before about Best Western in that they have the most inconsistent standards of any of the chains - yes they are all run as independent hotels but surely there must be some "promise" you get when booking Best Western.

Ridiculous amount of noise coming from function room in HOTEL. In a hotel you just want a good nights sleep. Don't use this hotel if that's what you want, seriously. Absolutely ridiculous considering, a real con I would say.

"Good hotel by noisy road"

We stayed here on our walk along the NDW and the hotel was good, but not very good and it is not for walkers. Carpets all over, busy and with a noisy road outside. On the plus side it was rather close to the trail and we had a very good breakfast with tentive restaurant staff.

"Average hotel which needs updating"

Stopped one night given room 409 which was a large clean room but is out dated. Mattress was like sponge and could feel the base through it. Asked for a room move was moved over to the other side of the hotel. This room was also outdated but was clean and had comfy mattress. Hot powerful shower in morning. Wifi did work but extremely weak signal. Ordered a cheeseburger and chips in bar which cost £12 came with 6 fat cut chips and a homemade burger which was a pathetic attempt. It was thin tasteless and certainly not worth the price . This hotel is in need of refurbishment as it is outdated and the food was poor. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and won't be stopping there again

"Poor nights sleep - traffic noise"

The hotel is well presented and has an interesting library in the bar which is great for me a book lover. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service and food are good. The room was run of the mill, nothing special but very warm and a fan provided. I had to leave the window open and there was a lot of road noise. There were comings and goings outside in the car park at 2am and a bit later so very disturbed sleep. Checkout was simple and efficient just a pity about the traffic noise

"Late Night Music"

As a family of four (two young children) we booked the family room for one night following a wedding during the day. Nothing was mentioned during booking nor check -in about an over 30's disco that was being held at the hotel that night. We only found out about this after arriving back to the hotel post wedding around 10:30 pm with two very tired young children. I asked the reception what time the music would finish and was told at 1:00 am. Also, our taxi driver advised that their firm often pick up revellers from the hotel between 1:00 am and 3:00 am as they have a disco every Saturday and sometimes Friday nights too. I asked reception if there was another family to be told that was it - right above the music. If you are staying here, I'd suggest asking about entertainment before your book. Otherwise, the room was fine as was the breakfast the next day. And to the receptionist credit, she apologised when we checked out.

Room was clean but very dated. Comfortable bed. Good bathroom. The room was very hot, with only a small opening window, so the fan provided was essential. As there are no facilities, or even a garden, I would not have wanted to pay the full room rate. Very noisy music playing until midnight.

"Run of The Mill but good location"

Stayed here 2 nights for the weekend. It's nothing special. The room was very tired circa 1995. Shower tho was excellent & the bed comfortable. Need to teach their chef how to cook a poached egg!! Breakfast was ok - filled a gap. Functions on both nights so noisy till late. Well located. Staff were helpful & polite. The faults were not enough to put me off staying again. For a good meal go to The Yew Tree almost next door. Didn't eat at the hotel (apart from breakfast) as very busy with functions.

Our room was clean, modern, and spacious. The pleasant staff provided excellent service. Though we didn't use them, there was a bar, restaurant, and coffee stand on site. For an inexpensive, mid-level establishment, we couldn't have asked for more.

"50th party ..."

A much anticipated party where the hosts had done everything they could to make this a do to remember and my review is not on them or the party but only the rudeness and upsetting antics if what I assume was the manager in charge ! The buffet was bought out at 9pm by 9.45pm he was removing it when you could see people still eating why would you do this when the hosts had paid for this buffet and so rude The music finished at 12.30 and by 12.31 he was encouraging the staff to stack chair so loudly and remove the tables The feeling that you were not welcome to say your goodbyes and finish your expensive drinks was all we could see I understand the staff want to go home but still this is ridiculous The rest of the young waitressing staff were NOT at fault in this unforgivable experience and all our friends agreed not a place to have a party

The hotel could do with a lick of paint on the exterior but don't let that put you off. The room was ok, the power shower was excellent the bath too small. The bedroom was fine and the highlight was the selections of teas. Good nights sleep. Great breakfast and service to match.

"Weekend stay"

Stayed for one night only for a family get together, our room was nicely decorated a little dated compared to boutique typ hotels but we prefered as more homely. Excellent size room with fantastic power shower, very clean room and comfortable double bed and ample coffee and tea facilities. Breakfast was ample and freshly cooked to order, we would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend without hesitation.

"Friendly staff but terrible value for money"

The entrance area and reception were both nice, as was the rather small bar, however once we got into the corridor it was a different story. The carpet was heavily stained with what looked like bleach, the walls were badly decorated and tired and the whole place smelt like disinfectant. The room was clean and tidy but dated, the bathroom was a very good size. My main issue is the price, we paid £145 for a double room with breakfast for 2, so whilst we weren't expecting the Ritz we certainly thought it would be better than it was. I've stayed in a fair few hotels (including a couple of other Best Westerns) from cheap through to 5* and this was not worth the money - £100 or less would have been a fairer price. The cooked breakfast portions were fairly small and not at all good value so if you're hungry and have time i'd look to get breakfast elsewhere. The staff however were all very friendly and helpful, I couldn't fault any of them. This hotel could do with some serious money being spent on it to bring it up to standard, either that or reduce their prices.

The rooms were clean and tidy with everything needed for our stay. The hotel is situated just outside the town of Reigate with easy access from the M25. Would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

"60th Birthday Party"

Service was very good, nothing was too much trouble, especially the lady on reception. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable although I prefer a double bed. The room the party was held in was a good size and the service at the bar prompt. Breakfast was yummy and the service good. The location was very accessible although there isn't much of a view from the window. We are considering coming back for a Christmas do we enjoyed our stay so much.

"Birthday party"

It was a 60th birthday party on Saturday so we decided to book an overnight stay. We found the hotel was spotless and all the staff were very helpful and polite. The buffet was well presented and enjoyable. Our room was on the lower floor over looking the car park, but this not cause us any disturbance. Beds were extremely comfortable, had a great time.

"Really nice and reasonably prived"

Booked this place as a pit stop during a long journey and for what we paid was really impressed, clean rooms, parking included, nice hotel and easy check in process so for me was perfect for what we needed. This place isn't far from Gatwick Airport at all so would be a perfect place for overnight stay, Reigate is a lovely place too and links to M25 are really good, would definitely stay again

"Exactley as expected - good service, good food and pleasant staff."

I have stopped at this hotel on a number of occasions whilst on business trips and it provides exactly what I look for. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the service is great. Add to this ample car parking and a very good location not too far away from London or Gatwick airport and it rates quite highly in my book.

"Ok for cheap overnight stay"

Arrived at hotel during storm and kind young male member of staff held door open so we could enter without getting soaked which was a good introduction to hotel. Reception is just inside door and as we approached a miserable looking female receptionist picked up her coffee and ignored us. After checking in without her bothering to make eye contact we went to room. Keycard did not work so returned to reception where it was changed without apology. We went out for a family celebration and on return key card didn't work again. Male receptionist says this often happens. Not much fun trudging up and down stairs to keep changing keys. The bed in hotel was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Room was very clean. Hotel and rooms are in need of complete refurbishment as it felt like an old peoples home. Same woman in reception on checkout and no improvement in attitude.

"Average for a business meeting"

Ample of parking and close to the entrance. Hotel bar is nice and decorated well. Food was really average and can't say was great. Overall, average facility. Meeting room was dark and found the glass window strange as people could then look in on the meeting. Not sure about that. Service was average also. No hand cream in the toilets.

The hotel as a lovely feel to it beautifully decorated. Twin room a good size. Beds comfortable and hairdryer set up next to a mirror all ways a bonus. A good tea and coffee tray. Plenty of free parking. Breakfast is freshly cooked. Easy check in and out. Good location for epsom downes race course.

"Lovely weekend"

We stayed at the Reigate Manor with two friends this weekend having stayed before. The hotel seemed to have improved on our last stay and that was good. We were going to the Epsom Derby and it is a great hotel and only a short drive to Epsom. The rooms were very clean and well presented and the breakfast was awesome an excellent choice for any palate. The restaurant staff were very helpful. Hope to visit again in the future and would definitely recommend.

"21st Birthday Afternoon Tea"

We all had an incredible afternoon at the hotel in their lovely Club Room which was an ideal venue for our family celebration for my daughter's 21st Birthday. I cannot speak highly enough of the events team (Julie and Rebecca) who were incredibly helpful in helping me organise this special event. Janus and his team of staff were terrific on the day - nothing was too much trouble and they were most attentive. I'm sure Chef has a secret recipe for the scones - everyone commented that they were the best ever tasted! Many said how good the sandwiches were too. An amazing vegan selection was also produced (at my request) and my guest was bowled over at getting her own cake stand. Some of the family stayed over and were very comfortable and had an enjoyable breakfast. My daughter enjoyed the celebration so much and also extends a huge thank you to all at the Reigate Manor Hotel - we will be back! Chris K

"Great hotel but avoid room 405"

Lovely hotel, convenient for London and Gatwick, staff very accommodating and polite. The best hotel breakfast I have had in a while, great quality ingredients. Only down point is the location of the room, 405, which has the constant drone of the air conditioning units and light pollution from outside. Definitely would stay again, but not in that room.

The barman/waiter we had for dinner, drinks and breakfast (Janus) was fantastic - funny, chatty, attentive. The food was delicious, breakfast was amazing, building was beautiful. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Definitely recommended!

"Superb venue for Mayor's Black & White Ball"

What a fabulous experience from start to finish. Staff were incredibly helpful, thoughtful and lovely. Food was delicious (from canapes through the 5 course dinner). Ballroom looked amazing in black and white. Service could not be faulted it was all brilliantly organised by Giles and his team. Thanks too to Julie who was also extremely thoughtful and did so much above and beyond. Will definately be going back both for a family Sunday lunch and for future Mayoral events. It was perfect, thank you!

"Wedding Venue "

Had our wedding ceremony and reception here. The hotel was clean and well kept. Stayed for 2 nights, the night before the wedding and then the wedding night in the bridal suite. I was informed immediately as soon as the bridal suite was ready so I could change rooms and finish getting ready in the bigger room. The breakfast was great with many options to choose from. I wanted a wedding with a difference being Pagan. The personal touches that I wanted to give the wedding the pagan touch were set up lovely by the staff. This meant that my wedding was a dream come true. A big thank you to Giles, Rebecca, Toby, Chris and anyone else I haven't mentioned that made the day go smoothly. Luckily for us the manager went home so the planned room raid by mischievous guests didn't go exactly to plan as the rice couldn't be found. Well done and thank you everyone. Mr & Mrs Salter

I held my 50th birthday celebrations here and the venue was perfect. Rebecca the functions coordinator was so helpful and friendly and offered great advice. All the staff on the day bent over backwards to make my event very special. The function rooms were spacious and clean and well set out with our own private bar attached. The food was lovely. The bar staff were very good and very helpful. The in house DJ Chris was great and played all the music i wanted (I emailed him a list of the selection prior to the night). A lot of us stayed at the hotel for the night too. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The only criticism is that i think the bedrooms could do with modernising a bit. The decor was a bit tired. The breakfast was amazing and cooked to perfection with a very wide choice. I would definitely recommend this venue to all my family and friends. Well done Reigate Manor, I had a truly brilliant time.

on hearing that I was to leave as breakfast was starting reception took me into the restaurant and arranged for me to have a continental breakfast. Not content with this the waiter then got the chef to cook me some eggs, bacon , mushrooms etc. Sadly my taxi arrived and so the waiter undaunted wrapped up my breakfast for the train. Excellent customer service. Thank you. That said the food the night before was excellent - never had beef so well cooked in a long time. The room was basic but the tea provided was not - a fine strong brew. Though the room provided for me by reception was well away from the music the proximityy to the road meant I had traffic noise - not too loud but constant. Overall a staff recognising the shortcomings of the hotel and trying their bvest to ensure customer satisfaction.

"Sensational Party including a great overnight stay"

We have recently held 2 amazing parties in their Garden Room with our own private Study room bar. Superb deco in the party room, food on such a large scale was delicious (hot food was hot) and (cold food was fresh and cool) very tasty. The staff were attentive and extremely helpful. Great facilities including the use of their screen and projector to show our family powerpoint slideshow of photos and use of mic to address our guests and aid toast speeches etc, also had our own music playing softly in background. Had a couple of wheelchair bound guests and easy access for them with accompanying facilities. Fantastic great parties that ended in a night stop each time with a very comfy double room and family room with great facilities including a hairdryer that actually works extremely well and a shower that I just didn't want to get out of... brilliant! Breakfast the following morning was cooked freshly to order, so tasty and hot with again attentive and cheerful staff. A great location for party!

I stayed in the Best Western Reigate Manor Hotel for one evening. It is a superb hotel. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The staff are very polite and helpful and the food is delicious. "18th Birthday party"

It was our daughters 18th birthday party and we had a memorable time. There was over 50 guests consisting of family and friends. The manager on duty and all the staff were so helpful and they could not do enough to ensure everyone enjoyed themselves. The accommodation was praised by all who stayed in the 17 bedrooms for the night and they all enjoyed their full English breakfast.

Room was basic but clean & no complaints. Typical bedroom for a manor type hotel. Bed bit soft for me but that would suit others. Bath bit small, could only bath top half with feet up wall or bottom half sitting up. Staff very friendly & helpful. Typical business hotel I'd say.

The ballroom was set up with 20 tables, 8 or 9 people to a table. There was a nice atmosphere and the quiz went very well. The waiting staff brought drinks to the tables and were very helpful. The fish and chip supper was served halfway through and although the fish was really dreadful, the chips were nice. This was a disappointment because when I ate here in December the food was fantastic.

"Fantastic Venue for 18th Birthday Party"

We booked the Cellar Rooms for our daughters 18th. From the first phone call the staff were very helpful, advising us on layout, recommending Djs and taxi firms. The cellar rooms themselves are free to hire but you require to use their bouncers, still very reasonable. separate entrance from the hotel so it feels special. Consists of 3 rooms and a bar, but all are interlinking so still seems like one party although the oldies could have a relatively quiet area to liaise. Bar staff were fantastic. All went without a hitch. And if you are staying the night the breakfast was top notch.

Nice Venue, staff excellent nothing too much trouble for them. Unfortunately there was a party and a wedding, on the same evening so the food, although very good, what there was of it, was not enough of it, Fortunately I have a small appertite but for the men this was a big problem, we had to keep asking for more cheese and biscuites as we were still hungry at the end of the meal.

"Wedding weekend all under one roof"

Spent the weekend here for our friends "pagan" wedding celebration. The hotel was clean and well kept if a little tired. Staff were exemplary making us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in until they wished us well when we checked out. Altogether a very enjoyable experience. There are lots of comfortable lounges, some with bars, study, library, conservatory etc. so finding a quiet corner to work, relax or have a conversation was easy.

"Sunday Lunch"

We booked to go for Sunday Lunch on the 24th April and couldn't have been happier with every aspect of it. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the starter table was more than plentiful and very tasty. The layout is such that there is ample room between tables so you feel comfortable, but not too much that it feels awkward. The carvery itself was absolutely fabulous, the meats were cooked to perfection and the wide selection of trimmings were great too. We have a 19 month old son and the team were really so accommodating for the little people making it far more enjoyable for the adults (not just us!) Outstanding value for money, great hotel, lovely staff - would highly recommend.

Surprise booking from my hubby, we stayed over night with dinner and breakfast included. Friday was a great stay over, with dinner being outstanding in presentation, service and taste. I left feeling very relaxed and ready to face to world again. If you are looking to venture out there are many local pubs and other places to eat in town. Or when the weather is fine there is a lovely walk up the hill to see views. Always double check your bill to ensure the package agreed or booked is what you pay for. would recommend.

We booked the £8 cream teas for a group of 6 of us in the lovely lounge. We were served 2 large scones with individual pots of jam, clotted cream and beautiful tiny little petit fours with our tea. Beautifully presented on special cake tiers. Had hours of a lovely quiet time with our friends on a Saturday afternoon. Will definitely come again!!

This hotel is ideal for the small business seminar,the larger conference,or a medium size birthday bash.In our case 40 proper people enjoying a 70th,and with help the of Julie and Rebecca in events, all went well.Lots stayed over,the budget fitted. You don`t need 5 star,this hotel ticked all the boxes. Just a joke on the £90 coffee, but mention it, you may get the attention that I received which,one should expect.Many thanks to all. Celebration of Golden Wedding with 45 guests. Staff were extremely helpful both when we were setting up things in the room prior to the event and then in serving the meal, which was excellent. Rebecca, the events coordinator, understood our requests and communicated them well to the staff beforehand, so things ran smoothly in line with what we had requested.

Some iffy reviews of this hotel, but it was perfect for my business trip so I booked for the night. Any doubts were unfounded. The room was clean, well-appointed, average size. No problems. It overlooked the fairly busy road, and there was some traffic noise, but not that much and I slept ok. Suggest you ask for a quiet room if you're a light sleeper. The pretty standard layout & décor of the restaurant - not a criticism - belied the amazing dinner I enjoyed there. Apparently the menu was only one week old - you'd never know. My starter & main was as good as any restaurant could muster - I had no room for dessert. Excellent service - friendly & quick. Check in & check out: fine. Plenty of well-lit parking and easy to find. My experience was certainly better than other reviewers', and I'd definitely return.

Older style 4 star hotel. Staff generally excellent but rooms a little tired. Breakfast was delicious, didn't eat dinner in the hotel as too expensive. Bed comfortable and shower powerful. 24 hour garage next-door and pub next to that. Tricky crossing the busy road to get to town. Overall good but not great.

"Decent hotel but staff is an enigma"

Second time I stayed in this hotel for business. Location is nice and restaurant is good. Rooms are fine but may require some refurbishment. The odd thing about this place is staff. They're either really good or really bad. My waiter in the restaurant was great and did his best to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Some of his colleagues though were either really tired or simply could not be bothered with guests. The lack of customer acknowledgment was shocking. A "here you are" or "enjoy your meal" would be nice but this was clearly too much to ask, making dinner an oddly transactional experience. Smiling is clearly not allowed. Our company's travel agency books and pays rooms allowing us travellers only to be billed for extra's. As during the first time I stayed here, this went wrong. Although I could present a voucher from the travel agency stating that I should not billed for my stay because payments were processed between them and the hotel, the receptionist was adamant I had to pay for my stay and the extra's. Her attitude got very defensive and made me feel like I was trying to rip them off. Any effort for closer investigation was too much to ask. Again, nice location, good food, nice bar and decent rooms. Rooms and bathrooms are clean but could use some updating. Staff is an enigma!

We stayed in a twin bedded room, the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever tasted and we were served very quickly, Only one thing the floor between the main door and the bathroom was very slippery especially in bare feet

"Poor at best"

Stayed here on business for one night. The cost excluding breakfast was £95 and in my book that's incredibly overpriced for it's location and decor. The room was tiny (as was the en-suite), the furniture and carpets outdated and in need of repair. As the previous reviewer mentioned, the whole hotel has an 80's or 90's feel about it, as if it were thrown up in that era and not touched since. My room was tucked under a stairs on the first floor and the soundproofing was terrible. I could clearly hear everyone walking past my door. There is free WiFi in the room and the bed linen was spotless. The lady on reception was very pleasant and I didn't actually eat dinner or breakfast here so I can't comment further on service. On the other side of the coin, it looked to me like the best bet for a single night in Reigate so you may be left with no other option as there are very few hotels there. Let's just say I would feel ripped off it were me paying for it and not my firm.

Breakfast terrible. Meal terrible. No sound proofing to rooms and party noise excruciatingly loud! If you don't mind lack of sleep then book a room here. This has to be the worse hotel we've stayed in. It is dated (very 90s feel), and rooms small. It has made a first hotel night away with a baby extremely unpleasant. If booking here to stay as a party guest with a baby, our advice would be to ensure you are nowhere near the rooms hosting the party. No lift. Very difficult to have to carry everything back and forth

Conveniently situated just off the M25 and close to Reigate town and next to a petrol station. Quiet location,large car park ( no charge). Staff very efficient and friendly.Good room with attractive tea/coffee facilities,TV. Warm with heated bathroom towel rail. Top that with tasty dinner and cooked breakfast served by happy staff.Could not ask for more.Pleasant check out. All this for reasonable prices.Will come back

"Burns Night"

I had to write and say thank you what a brilliant Burns Night on Saturday. The food was tasty, and nicely presented. All staff we had dealings with were polite, friendly and welcoming. We have attended several dinner dances at Reigate Manor and have enjoyed each one. This was our 2nd Burns Night. Only one small complaint, the temporary dance floor is a bit small considering the amount of people attending the events Each time we have attended any event at Reigate Manor, we have taken advantage of the discount if attending an event, the rooms are clean with comfy beds.

"Great breakfast set me up for the day"

The entrance to the Reigate Manor could be missed but it's right by the filling station. I arrived late on a Sunday evening and was welcomed by friendly, professional staff. The room was a bit of a trek to find but turned out to be clean, decent sized and well furnished. The bed was comfortable and the room featured wifi. I used the restaurant for breakfast and had a fantastic meal which set me up for the day. A friendly waited tended to my every need and his colleague on reception ensured that my checkout was swift so that I was on my way in good time. I would stay here again

"Disappointing standard of food "

I was a guest at a wedding here on the 31st December 2015. This was my first time at the hotel and I would not be recommending this hotel to others! The room for the function looked lovely! However the food that was served for the wedding breakfast was cold and un eatable! Burn Yorkshire puddings and cold potatoes.I was given a glass to toast the newly wed couple that had someone lipstick on the glass and another guest on my table had a hair in her starter! I felt very disappointed and sad for the happy couple as there was lots of guest complaining and a large amount of food wasted.

This is the third year we have had our New Year Lunch at Reigate Manor Hotel and we couldn't fault it. The food, service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. "Convenient and pleasant for night before early flight"

I stayed here before flying from Gatwick. The rate was very reasonable for the quality of the establishment. Staff were friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay again if I got a good price but probably wouldn't pay the standard rate if only for pre flight sleep rather than a more relaxing stay.

"Amazing Wedding Reception"

We held our wedding reception at Reigate Manor and we couldn't of asked for anything more. Rebecca, the events organiser was amazing. She helped make our special day unique to us and exactly what we wanted. All of our needs were accommodated. We had a Halloween themed wedding as we got married on 31/10/15. We were able to decorate the room exactly how we wanted and were offered as much help as we wanted. We were even able to go in a month before and have a trail decorating day. The food was very good, all our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. We had a food tasting day a couple of months prior so we could decide on what we wanted. For our evening buffet we wanted cheese and biscuits, and even though this wasn't on their menu as an option, it wasn't a problem. The service was excellent, all the staff were very attentive throughout the day. We felt well looked after and didn't have to worry about anything. We had the honeymoon suit, which was included in our wedding package. The room was lovely and even had a romantic four post bed. Many of our guest also stayed in the hotel and all had a very comfortable stay. The breakfast the next morning was also really good and had a wide variety of food available. We would definitely recommend Reigate Manor as a venue for your wedding reception.

From the moment we & our friends arrived we felt very welcome indeed. The welcome was extremely warm & helpful & our rooms were first class being very clean & with an extremely comfortable bed, pleasant décor & drink making facilities. Food quality was A1 with a wide selection of choices & home cooked in the main. Many personal friendly touches like Christmas Cards from Staff & Housekeeping Staff. On the first day I was not well so the Receptionist gave good advice & we visited a chemist to get things resolved & was swiftly much better. This Hotel is quite close to Reigate town where there are a vast selection of quality shops. As we went a day early for this break it gave us time to have a good look round which was most enjoyable since all very different to what we have available locally. A visit to Leatherhead Panto was a good start as it was a very professional production & great fun. Jazz was provided mainly by the Sussex Jazz Kings who are always good fun too & value. Barry Palser's Band on the first evening & other entertainment on Christmas morning. Therefore all the music was first class too. Lesley Stradwick is an excellent organiser & very attentive to personal needs & has to be congratulated together with Husband Dave. for everything they have done to provide a truly happy Christmas in conjunction with Giles Thomas, Hotel Manager. It was said they all hope to provide a similar break next Christmas & as soon as people were asked to register an interest the list was promptly almost filled. Think that says it all in that you will not be disappointed with anything at this wonderful, comfortable Hotel which comes highly recommended from our experience. As we Jazz fans are mainly mature people it is good for us to have everything laid on for our needs & entertainment in such an efficient & comfortable venue.

We booked in as a Christmas Jazz Guest from Wed 23rd to the Sun 27th as guests of The Sussex jazz Kings as a Jazz filled Christmas. "For the price, you won't get better in Reigate"

I stayed for the first time at for the Best Western Manor Hotel in Reigate during a midweek business trip. I was impressed: for a reasonable room cost (£79, Dec. 2015), my room was large, with a comfy bed and pillows, and a hot and powerful shower. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place was nicely decorated and kept cleaner than most hotels I've been too. Although on the main road into Reigate, road noise was not a problem at all, and I slept well. The breakfast in the morning was better than average, with the usual selection of continental options, and hot breakfasts to order (which I always think are better than a hot buffet). In summary, there really isn't anything I could fault, so for the price, I don't think you'll find better in Reigate.

The RMH staff were excellent in servicing the dining needs of a very large group of over 160 revellers. The food was very good and the rooms very comfortable. I would not hesitate in recommending the venue for corporate functions and private stays alike. A very personal approach to all guests was particularly appreciated. I look forward to returning!

Booked by a friend as part of a large group. We chose out men us in advance, which was fine. First issue was parking. I specifically phoned the hotel to check this out and was told they had 139 spaces and it shouldn't be a problem. It was - the car was full and so we had to find off site parking. The bar was crowded and it was small - it was difficult to get served. When we were sat down the food arrived quickly. The prawn starter was tasteless. Brussels were verging on raw, turkey was, roast potatoes were burnt - but the turkey was ok. Christmas pud was odd, in so much as it came as a square slice. The staff were OK in the restaurant, but obviously busy. The fact that the bar staff were drinking shots behind the bar didn't impress me. I was disappointed with the food and that was why I was there along with friends for company. Hence the poor review.

Very disappointing evening at the Reigate manor hotel. Food was very disappointing. My prawns were served warm when this was a cold dish. Complained and was told that they had been served correctly. The main course was ok but nothing special and the pudding was a runny creme brulle. Price for this lovely meal £38 a head. Sorry nothing positive to say.

"Mixed Bag"

Stayed twice. Arriving late both times. Efficient check in. Rooms clean enough. One very faded room one recently decorated. One on the front overlooking the busy road off the M25 down in to Reigate the other quiet and on the back. Hotel showing its age and not really up to Best Western standards but apparently the best of a surprisingly small and average bag not very far from Gatwick. Judging by the reviews can be very full and noisy if they have a function on but it was not busy both times I stayed - if you don't like your room ask for another.

I had a comfortable stay here, my room was neat and clean. I had had a long drive and ordered a burger from the bar menu, and a pint of their real ale....all very good news for me. When the burger arrived I opted for cheese as an extra so an extra £1.50 paid. £12 for a burger which came with 8 soggy chips and a small amount of limp salad. When I receive a meal for this sort of money I don't expect to be able to count the number of chips. I complained and they asked if I wanted to order another side portion. As I did not want to wait for another 8 chips I refused. They took 10% off my food bill the next morning. I did not have the energy for a row but I felt cheated. The receptionist said the Manager would be contacting me....but no word yet although it is only the next day. Breakfast was very nice though and the real ale was excellent

The hotel is well-situated between the M25 and Reigate town centre. The hotel is spacious with good parking. The food and restaurant are excellent. The rooms are comfortable and well-m,maintained. Reigate is an exciting town to visit.

"Stayed for a wedding function"

The staff were very helpful and polite. A reasonable hotel but not good for disabled rooms or wheelchair users. There was no walk in shower only a small deep bath with the grab rails too low to be used by my disabled husband, even the rails by the toilet were not in a good place, no thought had gone into it. Also sharp corners in narrow corridors made manoeuvring the wheelchair very difficult, bed also should have been higher. The hotel itself is good as was the food

"Family Celebration from 10 months to 90 years!"

A brilliant time had by all! We are a family who celebrated Granny's 90th birthday in the Conservatory and study bar on a busy Saturday. The day kicked off with drinks at 1.30 in our private bar followed by pre-ordered lunch at 2:15. Two high chairs, eight children and seventeen adults all seated around one table. The AV equipment was put to good use in both rooms and there is a write on wall going down the length of the room, pens supplied = children happy all the way to the 30 something's! Even though the hotel had two other functions that evening they found time to rustle up sandwiches and chips mid evening that we hadn't pre ordered, magic. The staff were fabulous, there when you needed them but totally invisible at other times. The location, being just off the M25, was a our initial reason for choice, but I could not fault their care and attention after an initial hiccough and would recommend anyone to use the hotel.

We are a small video production agency and needed a central venue for a shoot and used the Cellar room at the Reigate Mannor Hotel. The space was really good and the staff extremely helpful. The venue was easy for our clients to find and after the refurbishment programme the impression it gives to customers walking in is very good. Highly recommended.

"Good hotel - ideal for family bashes"

Stayed on business. Very friendly and efficient staff. Large hotel with lots of rooms. While I was there, there were two Wedding Parties on successive nights, plus a 70th Birthday bash. Even though they were playing music till late, the room I was in was reasonably sheltered so it wasn't a problem. They serve hot food until 9:00 and cold sandwiches 24 hours (I got there after 10, so this was much appreciated). Walking into Reigate Centre (about 15 minutes walk) is OK, though you need to cross over the busy Road immediately outside the hotel and cross back due to the lack of pavement. Can highly recommend the Gurkha Kitchen in the town centre if you like curries. The WiFi wasn't great - but adequate (Like most hotels...)

""A Perfect 25 !! ""

I had occasion to organise an evening meeting for a Group of 25 with a cold and hot Buffet. We were given a Room with it's own Bar that were Perfect. Sadly,we could not do justice to the quantity of food on offer !! It was excellent value for money and the Staff could not have been more helpful. One way and another I shall very much look forward to returning and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the venue.

"Tired Hotel needs a re vamp"

The staff are really helpful and friendly. The food is lovely. The rooms are another matter. Old fashioned and tired. Dark furniture and the double room I had just for my self last night was tiny. Happily recommend food and staff but not the rooms .

went to a dinner dance for 100 people, at the Reigate manor and it was brilliant, the food was hot and excellent, the service was great, and staff were friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and the beds were very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

An all round star of an hotel, with the only drawback being the petrol station on its forecourt. The dining was extremely good and very well presented. Stayed in the suite with a four poster bed - comfortable and well appointed.

"Short break in Surrey"

This is a busy well run hotel close to both the M25 and M23 with easy access. There is plenty of parking. Our room was pleasant with a good bathroom all the amenities we expect were there. We found the staff polite, pleasant and very helpful. The food both for breakfast and dinner is first class. I have not hesitation in recommending this hotel for a short break or business stop-over.

"Bad Western not Best"

I struggle to find something positive to say, other than the sun was shining and the wifi is free. I arrived late afternoon with small suitcase and briefcase, with no offer of assistance to a room that was upstairs, through fire doors and a few. Ire steps, despite finding out later it is policy to offer assistance to one of the smallest rooms which no doubt is charged at usual rate, could not access the wardrobe as a large chair in front of it and nowhere to move the chair. A few inches around the bed. Despite the booking made many months in advance and presumably rooms reserved this early appear to count for nothing. The welcome at breakfast was non existent and the service appalling. Soggy bread due to water running off poached eggs. Would advise to avoid.

We have just returned from an overnight stay at this hotel. I must say that the welcome from the reception team is exemplary - they are all very welcoming and asked if you wanted papers and help with luggage, which if you are 'older' would I assume be most welcome. The rooms are fine - they are not overally large, or small, they are adequate for an overnight stay or a couple of days. They contain everything you would need - and everything is clean. The showers are the best I have seen for a long time in a hotel - love the 'boost' function. We stayed because we attended their function 'Murder Mystery' evening which was excellent, well attended and the food good too. They certainly didn't skimp on staff as there were dozens of waiting staff. If I had to make one criticism - and I may be picky - the waiting staff were clearing the tables and setting up for the next evening before everyone had left, but i did object to my quarter empty glass of wine being removed from the table whilst I was up dancing !!!! And I had put it next to my evening handbag - which I purposely put on the table so that staff would know that we were still in the room and had not left for the evening. I must say, that when I asked the barman for a replacement - he offered me a full glass of wine, which I refused, I just wanted what I had left on the table, not more. However, when I went up to dance again, the waiting staff did the same and removed the straps from around the base of the not empty wine glass and removed it.......... so for a 2nd time I had to go and ask for a replacement. Quite a comedy. The billing for the evening was that the disco would finish at 12.50 - however, the last piece of music played was around 12.30. Great disco though - shame it finished earlier than billed! Even saying the above - I would definitely recommend this Murder Mystery evening and also staying at this hotel. It is a great evening and stay with friends! Breakfast is good too!

"Pleasant stay"

The hotel was ok but the hotel decor was a little dated in parts. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I did not get a good nights sleep because I could hear the guest in the next room coughing and snoring all night. It felt at times as if we were in the same room. The headboard in the next room was creaking all night. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Another seminar at a Best Western in quick succession- not as big attendance & only for the morning, so not so much to experience as the previous Best Western. But I was still impressed , Bacon Rolls, Coffee, Pastries all readily available, cheerfully served. Nicely decorated, lovely function room, nice grounds. Yes, once again, I liked it.

"A great place to overnight"

My wife and I stayed here last weekend after attending a family wedding locally. When we arrived we were greeted with politeness and efficiency, we were advised that there was an event taking place but the music would be finished by 12.30, however once in our room (101) we did not hear any of the music. There was some slight noise when people were leaving as our room was on the ground floor next to the car park and our window was open however this was only for a short time and did not cause us any problems. The room was very acceptable, Clean and tidy with plenty of room. I have only a couple of small niggles. One is something that seems to be the same in most mid range hotels these days and that is the use of foam pillows rather than feather. I never seem to be able to get properly comfortable with foam. Secondly the toilet in the bathroom was so close to the wall that there I got jabbed in the side by the toilet roll holder. One thing I really did like about the bathroom was the push button shower. Would love one of these at home. One really good point with this hotel was the breakfast. Plenty of cold items to choose from and the hot items (again plenty of choice) were cooked to order to a high standard. Overall I would be more than happy to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone needing to stay in the area especially as it is so near the M25 and Gatwick airport.
