"This hotel did not honor my Hotels.com reservation."

I booked and paid for a Suite, 1 King Bed, with VIP access through Hotels.com. When I arrived I was told by the front desk that room was not available. But, they said they would UPGRADE me to a non-suite, two queen beds room. WOW, what a great upgrade! I had a beautiful view of the parking lot! I was also promised a bottle of wine per my stay. But, it turned out to be a split of not so wonderful wine. I do not recommend this hotel!

I must say this is the Best hotel in Morelia don't look any further. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, excellent costumer service very friendly and an amazing food. We will be back again

Check in on hotel under gold status on hotels.com, so i requested my gold rewards: 1 free bottle of wine on arrival…. Still waiting for it.. 2 free room upgrade IF available.. denied.. called on the phone later and.. guess what!!! room is available to reserve!! 3 late checkout.. happened only after i insisted…. Later went to restaurant and found pizza and other food is good but wine list is bad to mediocre, waiters were kind but need to push to get things done, they complain they are too busy.. maybe im pushing too much.. can be ill take it. In summary, hotels is good, they don't respect partners levels and attention from my POV does deserve the name “plus” or “gran”they claim that should be reserved for the big boys, did not find neither here… By the way this is my third visit to this hotel, but first review.

Good food, great service, live music, we had a good time and enjoyed our food very much. They were very careful given the covid conditions and friendly with all customers. There is a great variety of food, everything tasted good and a lot was prepared instantly. Overall I would recommend.

Friendly and helpful staff, Good sized rooms, internet is reliable, good water pressure and how water. The pool and grounds are clean and attractive. Plenty of on site parking with a 24 hour attendant. On site restaurant is good - we only had breakfast - which was about 200 pesos per person for the buffet. My only complaint is on the air conditioning. This was not the first hotel I've found that advertises as having air conditioners but the units are set to cool no cooler than 80F. The hallway, lobby, and common areas are adequately cooled but the rooms are hot and hard to get a good night's sleep in.

Very happy with my decision to stay at the Best Western Gran Morelia. The hotel and its team exceeded my expectations. I had a great room (the hotel honored my request for a room in a quiet part of the hotel), the room and hotel were spotless, and the wifi worked great, The hotel is in a good location in a park next to the convention center with a small shopping mall across the street. It is not walking close to the city's historic center but taxi's and uber service was readily available. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I stayed in this hotel like 4 months ago and it was pretty comfortable. The room was super clean and all the included things where there. The pool is very great, it is big and the water is clean. The food is good too.

Great hotel with wonderful services. Very comfortable beds. Nice pool area too. Breakfast Buffett is really good and moderately priced. Free over night parking. Rooms are clean and safe. Free WiFi , and complimentary water.

We liked the hotel rooms and facilities. It's well-located and excellent for a visit of The Day of the Dead. The place is very clean and well maintained. Breakfast is very rich. WiFi didn't work well for us in several area and was weak in our room.

Thankfully, my event was held in the same building. The hotel is a bit old but, functional and clean. Staff is awesome. The food is so-so but, there are a lot of dining options around. The hotel is well located and the city is beautiful. Cheers.

A bit pricey for what it is, bed and pillows were comfy. The location its alright, you will have to get transportation to wherever you go. Seems a little dated. The breakfast buffet was really good but too expensive.

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel is well kept, rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant offers delicious food, including a buffet for brunch with a variety of choices. Definitely a great hotel for the money.

The employees are very friendly and super helpful. The rooms are very nice and super clean. The best and pillows are very soft and comfortable. Big shot out to the restaurant host she was super helpful and friendly. So was our waiter he was very attentive.

This was a most comfortable stay. My room was excellent and the restaurant super. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautiful. I loved the way they had trimmed all the trees and bushes.

We live in Morelia, but needed a place to stay while work was being done on our home. This hotel was perfect for our needs. The check-in was quick and efficient, we arrived at 11:00 am and were offered early occupancy without charge, the room was spacious, clean and well-appointed. We had a nice view of their pool and tennis courts. Although they had live music in the lobby bar that evening, we heard nothing. The internet was probably fiber-optic, with great speed in all parts of the public areas and our room. They have a nice, large restaurant serving all day, and a lobby bar with snacks. All the staff were pleasant and capable. Finally, there is free, secure parking. We have only positive feelings about our stay.

Stayed for 6 days on leisure. Excellent and tasty food in the restaurant. Rooms very comfortable with everything in working order. Elevators very busy and in great need for maintenance. Lobby very busy but exciting with many different events and people from all places. Music and barbecue puts in a lively display every night. Wish I could've stay another week.

This hotel is apparently or at least advertises as the best hotel in Morelia. I sincerely hope this is not the case. First, they assigned our room until 3 p.m even though we arrived early in the morning, nothing was to be done, they said that it was the policy of the hotel to assign the rooms until that time which caused us a lot of trouble. Then, most of the personnel even though they are kind and helpful work extremely slow and show little concern for you when you are in a hurry. The room does not include breakfast and if you pay for the buffet which is on the expensive side you will find limited options, the taste is good though. The rooms are ample and well equipped but the walls are very thin so you end up hearing all conversation and noises from adjacent rooms with is the major drawback that I found in this hotel. The hallways are also very noisy. It has a small pool and a tennis court so that is sort of a plus. In conclusion, it has a lot of things to improve

This was our 1st time in Michoacán. I was extremely disappointed at how most hotels don't have pools and if they do. Most close between 6pm-8pm, even water parks. So in an extensive search. This was one of the very few hotels in a safe environment near several things to do within walking distance. They are situated in the same location as the convention center, a garden, a museum, shopping and a multitude of quick food and elegant dining. They provide free parking, TV which is not always found in many rooms and a phone. The ac unit is not as cold as American hotels. I recommend setting at low to medium to allow you to sleep. High mode was to loud and interferes with everyone's sleep. The pillows were uncomfortable and the hotel rooms could use a little tlc. Inside door of the bathroom was broken or rotted out. The bathroom mat also had stains. The floor in one of our units felt like you would fall down to the level below us. It felt as if you were walking on jelly if that makes any sense. The wall trims also need cleaning. The pool also looks way bigger on the web than what it actually is. Oh and the 3rd floor hallway had a vinegar smell. It only smelled good while housekeeping was cleaning. Aside from those minor things. We had a decent time. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was not to our liking. My daughter got sick and the lady at the little store and a bail man were very attentive to my daughter's health needs. They immediately put us in a cab to see a doctor. Doctor was less than 5 minutes away and seen us immediately. The pool is the 1st I have been in that is fully tiled. Enter with extreme caution. My daughter almost slipped because it is very slippery. The exit bars are also in need of some work. They feel like they will soon break. Thank you to the lady and man who continued to ask about my daughter throughout our stay. Don't order pizza from Andiamo two members in our family got sick when Pizza was delivered to hotel.

It's my first time staying at this hotel. overall it is great. the staff is helpful and very friendly the rooms are very clean and the restrooms are fully stocked with toiletries i also enjoy the FREE wifi and the FREE valet parking. 5 stars!

I stayed in this hotel with my wife for a week and I enjoyed the service, the food, and its location in Morelia. It is a convention center with expansive grounds for a hotel near the central part of the city. I found it to be primarily Mexican in nature and not made to cater to American or European tourists, which is a good thing. ***My only distraction from my visit was the initial administration of our stay as our initial check in was held up because the attending manager wanted us to pay the commission rate they had paid Hotel.com for us to be there. This nonsense was followed by a demand for more money to be paid to the hotel because the Peso had devalued from 15 to 20 per $1 USA paid as we paid for the whole thing upfront a month before our arrival. The icing on the cake for our initial check in problem was the room we were offered was in terrible condition: old, smelling like smoke, and supposedly renovated. We politely declined to accept their offer as we had paid in advance for an upgraded room. I was fortunate that my wife was an experienced attorney in Morelia, MX, so the level of nonsense we initially met with was dispatched quickly. No commission rate, no peso upgrade, and we got a very nice room on a high floor. After that was over, we had a very nice stay. I was very happy with a fabulous breakfast service in the main floor of the hotel as well as the polite bar service next to it. I would stay at the same location again and look forward to the skyline views at night from where we stayed.

We had such a great experience! Clean rooms service was awesome. Their breakfast was authentic Michoacán's dishes. Best part it close to the strip, the historical buildings and the shopping. We will be doing this again soon

"One day getaway..."

We found a really good deal at BWP Gran Hotel Morelia and loved having chosen it. It has very high rates and everything. My daughter specially enjoyed the pool which I also had to jump in to accompany her... even though the water was icy cold. The place is nice, clean and organized... and it's location ensures a lot of silence which was what I was looking for. Beds and perfect and so is the service and I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for two small details. The sink top in the bathroom was broken and the bathtub was draining the water even with the plug in. I also didn't enjoy the restaurant food which was expensive and not really good. Breakfast was perfect though with lots of options to chose from and cooks to prepare omelette and juices the way you want. I recommend it.

Such a great deal! The rooms and amenities were excellent very clean and up to my standards... and in a prime location as well in Morelia. It felt so safe to have guarded hotel parking. I really liked the pool, as this is necessary to have during my stay. The check in and check out was very convenient and quick so I'm happy for that! Thank you and will return again!

Hotel location is very nice for shopping plaza see zoo, historic downtown is not far from this place. Hotel restaurant is nice and very nice service but when we came to hotel no one is attending and no security? When we come back 2am just go in. Room is nice.

We planned a trip and family reunion in Morelia, Mexico, and after some reaserch, we decided to stay at the Best Western and have the event there. That turned out to be a great decision. The hotel is very well located, at walking distance to a small shopping plaza and supermarket. Going to the historic beautiful downtown area was an easy drive too. The hotel has been renovated and the rooms were comfortable and well maintained. For our event, our coordinator, Lupita Pineda was extraordinary and we had a terrific time. The food, the personnel and the service were excellent and our event was a great success! We plan to stay in the Best Western again, the next time we go to Morelia.

This place is close to everything and have a great service, if you need some nights in Morelia this can be your choice, they have parking area with security in there, the room was very clean and the business center have everything you need to work.

"Old with horrible service"

This hotel is a nightmare. The facilities are too old to be considered a nice hotel but the worst part is the service. If you have to stay here please avoid the restaurant. The waiters have the worst attitude in the world. A shame for a beautiful place like Morelia.

"Dealing with a messy management and old hotel during New Year"

It is a shame to write this review. This hotel was one of the top options in Morelia 15 years ago, but not anymore. Rooms are "renovated" but the rest of the place needs and urgent transformation. Old carpets, bathrooms and furniture characterizes this BW, with only 2 elevators for the whole hotel, which makes it pretty inconvenience for all the guests. Management is a mess. During New Year's Eve the parking lot was full with cars from people having dinner at the hotel, leaving aside the hotel's guests. This is a disrespectful attitude towards customers... one hour waiting time at night with no clear answers from the management in order to park our cars!!! And it seems that the problems regarding the parking lot are recurrent, as we had a similar incident the previous night (without highlight the fact that the best spots in the parking lot were used by employees!!!!). No serious apologies were given to us despite we have booked 3 rooms. Restaurant and all the services are messy too. It seems that the management does not care about the hotel or its clients. Bathrooms are old, with no hot water (warmish at the best). It's a shame Best Western, this hotel is a disaster!!! Not even a 2-star venue!

"Great price, good service"

I stayed here for a couple of days on a business trip. The hotel is big and has a very good restaurant service. However, the bar service seemed to me very strange since the cocktails were poorly prepared and the waiter was a bit bad-tempered at the moment of taking an order. The room was clean and big, it had two beds, a bathtub and air conditioner. They receive you with chocolate-covered strawberries, I loved it.

"Reasonable prices but poor customer service."

I booked this hotel based upon a reasonable price and the option to have a kingsize bed. Upon arrival we were given a room with 2 standard doubles. I phoned reception to let them know that I have specifically booked a kingsize bed as my wife and myself were travelling with a baby. I was told initially that the hotel did not have kingsize beds (several different rooms with kingsize beds are advertised on their website) and that what we had been given was, according to the hotel an 'extra large' bed and that the problem was that the definitions of 'extra large' differs between Booking.com and the hotel itself. I was disappointed with their attempt to fob me off so easily and to not try and give us what we had paid for so asked to speak with the manager. Apparently I had been talking to the manager (Gabriela Serna) and there was to be no room change or any attempt by the hotel to provide us with what we had been paid for. Shortly afterwards we were called and informed that the hotel did have rooms with king size beds and that we would be moved to a 'junior suite'. We eventually got what we had paid for but I was left disappointed by the managers attempt to brush us off as an inconvenience and her lack of will to provide a paying guest with what they had booked. The hotel was very noisy too due to live music in the lobby bar until 11pm. The only positive I can think of was that the room was clean and there was a car park.

The hotel has a great location. Old building but very well maintained. Prices are very accesible. Rooms are wide, spacious and clean. Comfortable bed and no noise heard at all. Staff is friendly and well trianed.

"Good location, fair price"

Not being right in downtown was a plus for us. It's near by though, about 2 miles out, in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by a public park, next to a shopping mall and close to the observatory, to the water aqueduct and other attractions. Specially helpful is that it offers a parking lot. Of course, if the car stays parked, taxis are available and going downtown is only 2-3 dollars. The hotel rooms are ok, clean and comfortable. The hallways need a little more light and cleanliness; it's not that the rugs are filthy but they are a bit old and could use some maintenance. The restaurant breakfast buffet was good, plentiful and tasty, both with American style and Mexican typical dishes. The gym, hmmm... it's average but it "worked out" for me. The price per night was alright.

"Comfortable hotel with excellent service"

This hotel is about 2 miles from the center of town, just off of the beltway. It a good position if you have a car and plan to drive around as it easy to park and to hit the road. It is a 10-20 years old modern structure in reasonably good shape. The rooms are large, quite and comfortable. The staff is uniformly helpful and eager to please.

"Comfortable stay"

Stayed at the hotel for 3 days of meetings. Convenience was great. Breakfast options nice. Room was big and functional. It could take a bit of an update, but overall the quality was great, particularly for the price paid. ... careful though to ask for a room with no connecting door, as you hear everything from the room next door.

"I felt going back to the 80s in this hotel"

The hotel is in dire need of a remodeling. Everything feels old, the walls, the stained thin carpets, the furniture, TVs without HD, the basic food choices, decor in general. Newer hotels do not charge for internet wifi either, this is as basic as having a shower or a comfortable bed these days. Luckily the staff does go beyond their duties in terms of kindness, promptness and service quality. I have been in other cities in Mexico and found other Hotel chains that are more up to date and modern. If I were to go back to Morelia I would not stay here.

"Very Good hotel at Morelia"

We stay there every month , since we love Morelia city, the rooms are very well conditioned, restaurant is excelent, the bar is a very good area and the drinks are cool, the price for night is very reasonable. Best option if you visit Morelia Mexico.

"Beautiful Grounds and Building"

The best variety of food I've seen at the restaurant. Food was very good and server attention superb. Garden was beautiful and relaxing during the day. Since this is a convention center hotel, it was very busy and noisy in the lobby but rooms were reasonably quiet. Rooms were confortable but bathroom fixtures barely worked.

"Dissapointing stay"

When I booked the hotel I realize it had change chain, My expectations were to find a whole renewed hotel but it was not the case. It is just the same hotel facilities but just with a different name. So, my experience was the same as in the past . I had a couple of experiences, one good and the other bad. Good one: We left a charger in the room and called to ask for it and it was there so we recovered it. The bad side, is that we left the car at the Valet Parking and a pair of sunglasses were missing after we asked for the car. It is unfortunate but we will not stay in this hotel again.

A nice hotel, not too fancy and a bit dated, but very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food was good. Very nice breakfast buffet. I would stay there again for sure. Good location as well, you can walk to shop and eat. A lovely green space outside with a nice pool.
