We stayed at this hotel for five days and paid €1,127, including breakfast. Unfortunately, our experience was far below what we expected from a 4-star hotel. The breakfast looked appealing at first glance, but the quality was disappointing. Neither of us eats pork, and that seemed to be the only meat option available. There was a large selection of small items, but very little of substance. Drinks were not freely available and had to be requested. Every morning, we were only asked once what we would like to drink, and after that there was no further attention from the staff. For a 4-star hotel, we expected a much higher level of service and hospitality during breakfast. The cold cuts were clearly not fresh. Every single day, the sliced meats had dried-out edges, indicating that they had been sitting out for far too long. The fruit was bruised, looked old, and certainly did not taste fresh. This is simply not the standard you would expect from a 4-star hotel, especially considering the price we paid. The room also had several maintenance issues. The refrigerator leaked from the day we arrived. Although it was cleaned once, the problem returned immediately, and we eventually had to remove a large block of ice ourselves. The LED strip on the mirror was hanging loose, and the shower door did not close properly. We reported all of these issues to a male member of staff at the hotel and personally informed him about these problems. We were told that some issues were already known, but despite reporting them, no action was taken to resolve them during our stay. What disappointed us most was the service. When we checked out, we were not greeted, thanked for our stay, or asked how our experience had been. There was no communication or any form of personal interaction at all. We informed the male staff member that we were checking out and stood there waiting, without knowing what was happening or what the next step was. The only action taken was that the payment terminal was placed in front of us, without any explanation or further communication. We found this extremely impersonal, discourteous, and far below the level of hospitality expected from a 4-star hotel. We later discovered that the male staff member to whom we had reported all of these issues, and the same person who failed to acknowledge us properly at check-out, was actually the owner of the hotel. This made the lack of hospitality and professionalism even more disappointing. Throughout our stay, we did not feel taken seriously as guests. We reported several problems and expected them to be addressed, but unfortunately nothing was done. This gave us the impression that our concerns were not valued. What is also disappointing is that, based on the information and reviews presented on various online platforms, this hotel appears to maintain a very high standard. Unfortunately, our personal experience did not reflect that image at all. The level of service, attention to detail, and overall hospitality we experienced were not in line with what we expected from a 4-star hotel. To make matters worse, this is our second attempt to raise these concerns. Our first email has been completely ignored, which we find both unprofessional and disrespectful. A simple acknowledgement would have been the very least we expected from a hotel that values its guests. Overall, this hotel did not deliver the quality, hospitality, or service that its 4-star rating suggests. Several problems were reported during our stay, yet nothing was done to resolve them. For €1,127 for just five days, we expected a much higher standard. Sadly, based on our experience, we cannot recommend this hotel.
We stayed one night at this hotel — the location is fantastic. Our suite was spacious and offered a stunning lake view. The rooftop area is charming, with a truly spectacular panorama. However — and unfortunately, there is a “however” — the service and cuisine left much to be desired. For a hotel of this level, the lack of attentive service is simply unacceptable. Everything felt disorganized and neglected. We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant and ordered a cheese plate for dessert. After waiting 45 minutes without anyone checking on us, we tried to get the attention of the staff, but were completely ignored. Eventually, we decided to leave the restaurant without being served. The next morning, no one apologized or even acknowledged what had happened — as if nothing had occurred. Quite unbelievable. To make matters worse, they even suggested our booking was for two nights, despite my email clearly stating “weekend of September 6.” It couldn't have been clearer. At €400 per night, I expected a much higher level of professionalism. What a shame!
My husband and I recently stayed at Al Caminetto, and it was a wonderful experience. This small and beautiful hotel, fully renovated and tastefully designed, offers a stunning aesthetic wherever you look. One of the highlights is the pool, a rarity for a hotel so close to the centre of Torri del Benaco. Just a 2-minute walk, and you're at the waterfront, making the location incredibly convenient. The parking slots are like gold, a valuable addition for guests. The staff at Al Caminetto are very friendly and welcoming, ensuring a pleasant stay. The breakfast was great, providing a perfect start to our days. Additionally, the new restaurant on the rooftop terrace offers a lovely menu and stunning views, making dining a delightful experience. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely come back!
My experience with this hotel was the following: I booked a 5-day stay at this hotel via booking.com approximately 2 months in advance to the stay. The night before the stay would start, I received a message that the hotel is unable to provide a room for us and will organise a reservation in another hotel. As I tried to call the hotel nobody picked up and the person I was in contact sent me another message stating that he/she can't make the reservation at the other hotel and instructed me to cancel the booking at Al Caminetto via booking.vom (which was at this time only possible at the full price, meaning I would have been obliged to pay the whole stay without staying at the hotel) In addition to that he/she said I would have to make the reservation at the other hotel by myself. All of that seemed very suspicious to me, which was the reason why I called the booking.com service hotline and the canceled the reservation for free and without fees.
A great hotel in a great position opposite Lake Garda and a short walk to Torri town. Hotel run with great efficiency by the Mr Consolini and his son Marcelo. We stayed in one of the balcony rooms small but comfortable. Great breakfast with so much to choose from and Natasha works very hard to make sure you are happy. Marcelo who has 100 Gins to choose from will be happy to serve you one on your return from your evening meal in the town. You will love Lake Garda and also this Hotel. Enjoy.
We had four nights at this lovely hotel, our room (at the side) had a small balcony and was immaculate, as was all the hotel and grounds. The location is on the main road but the building is set back, with its car park and pool to the front, so road noise in the room was not an issue. Breakfast (included) was great, lots of choice and freshly made coffee if you asked for it, we had wonderful weather so we had it outside everyday. The centre of the village is a 5 minute walk away where there are plenty of restaurants/bars, shops to enjoy. The ferry is also close but the service is limited so if you intend to use it check out the times so that they fit your expectations (you can take your car across the lake from here). Car parking on site was not a problem as the hotel has an ingenious system to take all the cars. We would return here
Although set back from the lake road we had a lovely room with a view of the pool, and a decent view of the lake beyond. This is only a small hotel, I think about 20 rooms, but the communal area of the bar and breakfast terrace were spacious. The pool is small but there was always enough chairs and on a hot day it was great for a dip. Everything was spotless and meticulously cleaned and tidied every day inside and out. Staff were wonderful and always on hand - Natasha was really helpful - whether at breakfast or late night for a drink. . Room was cosy and the blinds spectacularly effective. There were so many bars and restaurants along the front and the parallel street just 5-10 minutes walk away. Had a lovely stay and have already checked the prices for next year.
