We stayed here for one night and never again. We paid $375 a night which was a rip off. Fridge was broken couldn't sleep , spiders crawling in the lobby , main washroom at the lobby is flooded and moldy. Brought the fridge concern up to staff and nothing was done .Stay away and go spend your money elsewhere better.
We will happily return here! Top tier hospitality, service, complimentary breakfast and cleanliness! We were grateful to find pet friendly accommodation steps from a gorgeous beach and family mini golf. The pool was a great size and well maintained. This modern hotel stands out from the rest!
Family vacation in Parksville. It's close to the beach and mini-golf course. The staff was friendly, hotel rooms were recently decorated and clean, and the AC was working well. Included breakfast was excellent. It's better than most continental breakfast. They also give you eggs, sausage, and pancakes beyond the traditional cold breakfast options. Wifi was a little spotty but it was okay for what we needed. Hothub was great but the pool was slightly colder than what you would see in a public pool. One or two degrees warmer would be perfect. Overall very satisfied and I would definitely take my family there again.
My wife's perfume disappeared during a specific time, and the hotel didn't do anything when we told them.
The Feng Hotel (Best Western) is the only place to stay when your visiting the ParksvilleQualicum Beach area. The staff we dealt with for our three day stay were exceptional. Being a senior I'm not computer savoy; so when my tablet started to go wacky I approached the reception desk, who quickly identified the problem, and resolved the issue. ( I didn't take note of what they did, so the following morning I was back to reception for help. The girl who had assisted the day before was not there and the gentleman couldn't figure it out. So he called the girl at home!! and she gave him the instructions which I wrote down). That service goes above and beyond what I expect of staff at hotels. The breakfast (which is included in your room charge) was in a word "awesome" (toast, waffles, eggs both hard boiled and cooked), two kinds of sausage, juice, fruits, coffee, tea, muffins, numerous fresh fruits, and REAL GLASS PLATES!
Between the guy putting on rubber gloves right in front of me to touch my ID which is extremely insulting that I'm some kind of filthy person instead of just sanitizing his hands after or washing his hands, the entire Hotel can definitely use some updating. There's paint scrapes there's dents in the wall the beds were barely made it's definitely a two-star hotel. The pool was absolutely disgusting the water was murky it wasn't clear the pool itself was freezing cold there was floaty bits in there Heaven Knows the last time it was cleaned. I would be embarrassed to call this a Best Western this is definitely not Best Western quality this is disgusting. I stay at Best Western Hotels all over Alberta from Okotoks to Edmonton and Hinton I've stayed in Best Westerns all over and this is not a Best Western in that sense. I've even stayed in the Best Western in Revelstoke it is a boutique hotel called The Stoke, much like this is a "by Best Western" Hotel. That was clean, well done and nice. I think the amount i paid at Feng, I was robbed. This review will be on Google as well. This is 100% a 2 star hotel, possibly even 1 star. The room carts are left in the hallway day and night all over the place there seems to be a lack of storage like maybe you don't have a place to put the Maid carts? Breakfast was barely good the eggs were squishy and they were standing there watching like I was going to steal something for this free breakfast. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I recommend they camp in a tent instead of staying in this hotel.
No kitchen option. This is a 2 star hotel with a great breakfast option. The Pool and hot tub is convenient. Small, not heated. Staff and service was sub par, expect what you would from a 2 star. Comfortable stay overall, nothing more and nothing less than a place to sleep. Parking is free which is nice and walking distance to many amenities.
Disappointing experience at the coffee shop in a hotel, which I feel compelled to share. It's the first time I've encountered a situation where hotel staff, including housekeeping, freely entered the breakfast area to fill their plates and clear out the breakfast room while guests were still waiting. During my visit, I waited over 20 minutes for hot food to be replenished on the counter, but nothing wss made available. It was strikingly clear that the hotel has very lax standards regarding staff protocols during guest breakfast hours. While guests are left waiting it seems that staff are prioritized over those who are actually paying to stay there. Frustrated by the lack of service, I ultimately decided to leave without eating anything. This experience stands out as the worst I had in any Best Western hotel. If you're considering a place for breakfast, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere in the city. There are much better options that will value your time and offer a proper dining experience.
Fantastic stay! We were there for a minor hockey tournament. The staff did a great job given the number of kids running around. They were accommodating and respectful when they needed the boys to settle down for the comfort of the other guests. The beds were comfortable and the rooms large enough for our family of 4. The price was reasonable and it was a great breakfast with plenty of room for guests to sit and enjoy their meal.
Had a very pleasant stay. Room was clean, good shower, lots of towels, quiet, did not hear inside or outside noise, central location, great staff
My wife and I chose this hotel due to its central location for exploring Vancouver Island north to Campbell River and west to Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. However, we would not stay again. In the middle of our first night there, someone obviously using a keycard attempted to enter our room but was stopped by the metal security arm on the door frame. The desk clerk on duty denied checking someone else into the room and giving them a keycard, but the only other possibility would have been an employee with a master keycard; a very disturbing experience. The included breakfast had limited hot-food options. The breakfast room is small, and we found it very crowded and with limited seating at the typical 8 am time of breakfast. The shower-tub in the bathroom had no gripping strips in the tub and was very slippery, requiring one hand on the grab bar at all times.
Hotel is very clean, and moderately efficient staff, check in time was lengthy not sure why, appeared newish staff member was struggling. the room was fine. The breakfast included in the price of the hotel was a MASSIVE disappointment. Not a typical decent breakfast, scrambled eggs only with self prepared toast or waffles. Piles of convenience food option like yogurt and granola bars or muffins.
Good value for your money. clean rooms. good breakfast. good location close to beach. Good parking spots and excellent staff
Stayed here last year when it was still a Travelodge and it has improved a lot under the new management and their renovations. It's pricey in the summer, but it's also close to the beach and the rooms are pretty big. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. They seem to have a lot of cleaning staff keeping it up. The breakfast is decent enough. The only proteins are eggs and yogurt, but there are plenty of toasts, cereals and fruits available. Would definitely stay here again.
I stayed for 2 nights and founds the staff and mgmt extremely friendly and accommodating especially since I was going through a difficult time. The bed, sheets pillows were so comfortable. The breakfast had yohurt and scrambled eggs that were gluten free. It felt like a piece of heaven which I desperatetly needed. I was there in May and the rate was $184.00 a night including tax.
Great for a short stay: plenty of free parking and centrally located so you can walk to the beach/boardwalk in 20 minutes or restaurants along the main road. The hotel is renovated but not high end or well-done in places (at least in my room) but it has free, reliable wifi, and an exercise room and pool, which I didn't use. The complimentary breakfast is unlike the other BWs, only because it offers eggs as its main hot protein instead of eggs AND bacon or sausage, etc., and that can be quite disappointing to members who are used to this standard. The hotel is clean, staff are nice, rooms have fridge and microwaves, and amenities are nearby (grocery stores are 5 mins drive away). Air con in room but windows also open. Could be noisy in high season since close to the main road. Good value.
Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very clean, centrally located and friendly staff. Will definitely come back again. Totally awesome hotel. Highly recommended to anyone looking to stay around Parksville. The hotel is very well maintained and well worth the stay.
Our hockey team enjoyed this friendly, clean space for our tournament. Location was great! Mini golf and beach across the street. We appreciated the staff making sure quiet hours were respected as it was loud sometimes with kids running around. Pool was a hit! Adults and kids all enjoyed ourselves.
