Absolutely gorgeous stay here. The staff are absolutely amazing. Special mention to the housekeeper who hadn't finished when we come to check in, she was absolutely sweating bless her and was so lovely. The room was spotless. The facilities amazing and the rooms absolutely gorgeous. To be honest you pay for the view!!!! Everything else is a bonus. The location was fab.
Stayed here for one night so wished we booked two nights has the hotel we went to after staying here was very disappointing and was very tight on space and very basic. Here is amazing there's plenty of room I would definitely stay here again it's in a very good location it was just perfect.
A man called Daniel was working on reception and honestly gave outstanding service. Catered to every need and nothing was too much. Can't thank Daniel enough for making my stay a very special one.
I recently stayed at Dockside Apartments at Kings Dock in Liverpool for 2 nights. The location is easily one of the biggest highlights—right by the waterfront and just a short walk from major attractions like the Albert Dock, M&S Bank Arena, and the city centre. It made exploring Liverpool incredibly convenient, whether during the day or in the evening. The apartment itself was clean, modern, and well-maintained. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living area, and a comfortable bed. The large windows offered great views of the dock, which really added to the atmosphere. Check-in was straightforward, and communication with the property management was clear and helpful throughout. Any questions I had were answered quickly, which made the stay feel smooth and stress-free. Only one downside: no onsite parking but they do offer a discount which can be used at The Kings Dock car park which is only a 5 minute walk away. I would definitely recommend Dockside Apartments to anyone visiting Liverpool, whether for a short city break or a longer stay. Great location, comfortable accommodation, and good value for money—I'd happily stay here again.
Excellent location and perfect for weekend away
Fantastic value. Nice hotel room but with the bonus of 2 double rooms and a kitchen/lounge. Good location at Albert Dock and walkable to the city centre. Parking close by without the need to drive in the city. Excellent vslue for money
It's ok, but has issues. There is a £50 damage deposit which doesn't seem to be mentioned until you check in. The deposit is happily taken off your phone based cards, then they ask for your actual card number so they can write it down and refund it later, not good if you don't have them, and hardly secure. There are lights outside the rooms , which cannot be blocked out using the blinds , some of which have no adjustment “winder” as they have broken off. Too expensive for the service provided.
We stayed for the weekend to meet up with friends . This time we had room 502. Another great apartment. We had 2 double bedrooms, a very well equipped kitchenette, dining area and lounge area. When we arrived the two ladies on reception were very friendly and helpful. We love staying here because we can always be assured of a great stay. Everything is near by. Its situated by the big wheel and its only a 10 minute walk to a tesco express. There's also a McDonald's and KFC about 5 mins away. We will definitely be booking here again next time we are in Liverpool.
RATING: 2/5 (Generous, purely for the cleanliness and one polite staff member, post complaint) Stayed: November 2025 Room: 502 My partner and I booked a two-night stay at the Dockside Aparthotel for November 27th and 28th to celebrate her birthday. We chose this property expecting a comfortable and relaxing apartment experience. Sadly, the stay was a complete failure due to the state of the room's furniture and, even worse, the shocking attitude of the Manager. Initial Impressions Check-in was initially fine; we were politely moved from our original room (202) to Room 502 as the key wasn't available. The apartment initially looked clean and well-presented. The Major Issues: Comfort is Zero The apartment's essential furniture was completely unacceptable for a hotel stay: The Mattress (Coil Spring Nightmare): The main bed had a coil mattress that offered zero isolation. Despite a thick topper, every time one of us moved, shifted, or got up to use the bathroom, the other person was immediately woken up. We could feel the coils pressing through at times. This led to two consecutive nights of awful, disrupted sleep, significantly impacting our energy and enjoyment of the trip, particularly my partner's birthday. The Sofa (Unusable): The two-seater sofa (a sofa bed) lacked central support. When sitting down, both of us tilted uncomfortably into the middle, regardless of where we sat. We had to sit on the less comfortable padded dining chairs in the evening instead of lounging, as the sofa was simply too uncomfortable. The Manager's Shocking Response I reported the issues with the mattress and sofa to reception on the morning of the 28th. The young man on duty was polite, but after consulting the Manager via phone, I was told that the hotel was full and they had no new or spare mattresses, as they were all the same. Upon calling again at 2 PM, I spoke directly to the Manager (i believe). Even though i calmly reiterated my issues with the beds and sofa, she just got defensive and immediately dismissed my concerns by stating that since “no one else had raised that issue with that room,” the discomfort must be a matter of “personal preference.” I was astonished that she invalidated a guest's legitimate complaint simply based on a lack of prior reporting. She made no attempt to inspect the room to verify my claim firsthand. Her offer to change the mattress was meaningless, as she had already confirmed they were all the same model, and just felt an empty gesture given her statement a few seconds prior tgat it must be personal preference" This failure to act and the dismissive attitude ruined the day. My partner was forced to sleep alone in the other bed (which was equally uncomfortable) just to try and gain some undisturbed rest, on her birthday!! , truly spoiling what should have been a celebratory two days. Unreported Issues (Quality Control Failures) We didn't even bother reporting other basic maintenance failures: The apartment door rattled loudly whenever the communal door or window opened. I had to use cardboard to jam the door to stop the noise. The bathroom extractor fan was non-functional, leaving moisture on the room for prolonged periods. The plastic operating cord for the balcony door blind was broken and found discarded in a drawer in the desk. Conclusion and Warning For £158.45, we received two nights of uncomfortable and disturbed sleep, no comfortable seating, and a truly offensive response from management when we raised the issue politely. The apartment was very clean and on the surface looked very nice, with the juliette balcony view being lovely, but unfortunately unable to enjoy properly due to the sofa. If you are looking for comfort, especially for a special occasion, I would maybe consider looking at other places. The Dockside Aparthotel is not currently meeting the basic standards of comfort at leastvin that room or professional customer service from the management Avoid Room 502. I have raised this issue directly with Best Western Higher management as I believe writing/emailing the hotel direct will serve no purpose given the managers responce.
What a great apartment really spacious and clean and had everything we needed, check in was really smooth and the girl in reception brought us up to our room. The staff were really helpful explaining how to get a discount at the kings dock road car park
Really great spot, lovely staff , great views ,nice two bedroom apartment ,2 minutes walk to Albert dock and city , the pick and go breakfast was a little disappointing but everything else was lovely
In summary, the Dockside Aparthotel exceeded expectations on all fronts. It combines the professionalism required for travel with the warmth and comfort of a true home away from home. Comfortable bed, excellent accommodation, clean and well equipped, overlooking the river. Quiet and close to plenty amenities that Liverpool have yo offer. Excellent staff/ customer service. I would highly recommend this property to any traveller visiting Liverpool and will certainly choose it again on future visits.
It eas such a surprise pleasure to stay st this aparthotel. The view was extremely beautiful, opposite the river. The location itself is amazing . The cleaniness of the apartment was oustanding. I will again will visit but with my family.
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Dockside Apartments in Liverpool for two nights to celebrate both our birthday and anniversary, and from the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. Chloe and Michelle on reception deserve special mention — their professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency were second to none. Despite the hotel being busy, everything ran so smoothly that it felt like we had their full attention the entire time. Nothing was too much trouble, and their warm, genuine approach made us feel instantly welcome. Our apartment was spacious, immaculate, and beautifully maintained — a real home away from home (if only our home were this spotless!). Every detail was just right, making for a truly comfortable and relaxing stay. Our only complaint? That we weren't staying for longer! Thank you, Dockside, for making our celebration so memorable. We will most definitely be returning ! Sally & Ryan
The customer service at check in was exceptional. The apartment was very well equipped. The view was stunning. The location is very good. I would highly recommend and will stay again.
I stayed at this hotel September 2024 and have been dealing with issues for over 12 months now. On arrival I was told to park at the front of the building and unfortunately received a parking fine from LCC. I was assured by the staff that the hotel would cover my parking fine, which was a relief at the time. However, after 12 months of constant follow-ups, I was refunded only 50% of the fine—far from the full amount I was promised. What makes the situation even worse is the unprofessional behavior from the manager. In our email communications about this issue, the manager resorted to using terms like “a**holes” and “OMG,” which is completely inappropriate and unprofessional, especially in a formal setting. This kind of attitude from someone in a managerial role is completely unacceptable. The lack of communication, the failure to honor their promises, and the disrespectful behavior from management have made this a truly frustrating experience. I won't be returning, and I highly advise others to think twice before booking here.
Stayed for 3 nights (2 adults, 2 children) and had a pleasant stay. Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival. Our 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment was fairly spacious with handy kitchen facilities with tea/coffee and comfy beds. It was mostly clean, just a few small spots missed. Great view over the docks from our apartment and convenient location for Albert Docks and Liverpool One. Downsides, rooms got very warm as they're sun traps, and the blinds didn't stop light in the early mornings, so thermal blackout blinds and fans would be a good improvement. Breakfast was included – a grab-and-go bag with porridge, flapjack, croissant, yoghurt, and water – basic but fine.
We booked this hotel for our anniversary (05/08/25) and it didn't fail. We booked a gorgeous two bedroom apartment, we laughed at the little quotes on the wall which made us laugh. We had a lovely view and spent some time stood on the balcony watching the rowers on the Wednesday morning. The staff were absolutely lovely and I couldn't praise them enough. We was left with complimentary tea, coffee and milk. We went to a few bars which was a 10 minute walk and just soaked in the atmosphere of the city. The beds were comfortable, staff lovely, plenty to do in the area, nice view and close walk to the city. We can't wait to come back again 5*
Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of April in a 2 bedroom apartment. The location is absolutely brilliant and we absolutely loved the views! The apartment was perfect. Lovely and spacious and had everything we needed. Away from the noise of the city centre but still only a short walk away. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we were able to leave our bags so we could make the most of our last day. The only criticism as mentioned by a couple of people now is the mattresses are super thin and you can feel every spring! If this was dealt with then it would be an absolutely perfect 5/5 stay! We would stay here again.
Stayed here in room 501 on Saturday 12th and Haven't got a bad word to say about this place, The apartment had everything you need and the views were amazing. We have stayed here a few times now and we have both loved it each time. Our apartment was spotless on arrival as usual. I heard a few people complaining about the heat in the rooms but it was 34 degrees outside and every room had a fan so Im not sure what more the staff could have done. I think Some people just like to complain 😕 I Met the manager and two girls on reception on the day I called in to book and they were all lovely and then Chloe was the girl on reception for our check in and check out and again she was great and couldnt have done more to help. Thankyou all for a lovely stay. We will definately be back again
Modern building, great location, apartment equipped for a weeks holiday/small family/hen do if self cater only!!! Rooms not at all equipped for hot whether, apartment was hotter than outside on a 30+ degree weekend!! Cannot stress enough!! It was absolutely sweltering in our room. No hair dryer in room, no soap, not enough floor matts for both showers, second bedroom window didn't open, mattress was uncomfortable, creaked and could feel springs, dirty bedsheets, felt bobbly and old, night time reception staff very unhelpful, arrived to find him lounging on sofa, didn't tell us about breakfast, or check out times, no restaurant on site, breakfast was a brown paper bag, packaged croissant, yoghurt, flapjack and water!! Not a proper breakfast - I would opt out of paying breakfast if you stay here, we tried to get a refund and was declined This place is not ideal for a couple on a weekend city break.
This was my second visit as I had been impressed with my previous stay, however was disappointed this time. Although clean, the apartment was significantly smaller with more of us staying, not as well equipped and limited seating for everyone. Having read other reviews and from experience, there seems to be great variety in standard. We weren't supplied with enough towels and on asking the reception, they didn't have any large towels spare, but gave a further 2 hand towels. I asked for an additional key as we were 2 couples but she told me that only some apartments have 2 keys. She did offer though that when we went out we could leave the key and they would let people in if we came home separately. The apartment was very warm, especially the smaller room with no window which made sleeping difficult as well as the uncomfortable beds. Opening the windows and doors made it quite noisy with bin emptying and the seagulls etc. there is ongoing building work but this didn't cause us any disturbance. The staff are very friendly and accommodating as much as possible. It is in a very good location for accessing the city but think if I visit Liverpool again, will probably stay elsewhere which is a shame but do feel that they should be more honest about the current set up regarding building works as when you arrive you don't really want to stay u til you get to your apartment. Parking is expensive but we did find some nearby parking (8bays) for £10/24hrs.
Stayed at Dockside Aparthotel in Liverpool recently and have a few mixed thoughts. On the plus side, the location is excellent—right by the docks and within easy reach of the city's main attractions. The apartment itself was clean, modern, and well-kept, with a tidy layout and a nice feel overall. However, there were a few downsides that affected the stay. There seemed to be ongoing construction or unfinished work outside, which detracted from the atmosphere I also had a disturbed sleep due to mechanical noises outside the room, which I later realized it to be the lift operating. Also, the breakfast was very disappointing- We paid £7.00 extra thinking we were waking up to a cooked breakfast. Unfortunately, we were handed paper bags containing a cheap pot of porridge, a small yoghurt an apple & a flapjack. Personally I felt this was a bit of a joke. We should have been informed upon booking that there was no proper breakfast and we would not have paid the £7 pound each extra. Overall, it's a nice place with great potential, but I'd suggest checking ahead to see if building work is still ongoing, and maybe skip the breakfast until they improve that side of things too. Based on the ongoing works & breakfast I am rating this an average.
The first night, the sheets on all the beds had hairs in them, went down to the reception, a d the guy in reception was in the alley around the corner smoking a joint. Argued with me that the sheets were changed daily, so, what, we are all imagining the hairs and stains we are seeing in the bed???? Next night, with the deadbolt engaged, our door was opened by another staff member, so I bolted out of bed, and he mumbled an apology that "he thought the room was available". Umm, the deadbolt wasn't enough of a hint, moron? Third night, earlier in the day I reported the people in the room above us (3rd floor) smoking in their room, and the smoke wafting down into our room. Later, we were awakened by the fire alarm; I ran downstairs, encountered the hotel employee coming up, asked her if everything was ok, and she said "I believe I know the problem" and continued up to the 3rd floor to confront the jerks above us. I followed her and heard her say "are you smoking in your room again?". Why weren't they thrown out after the first incident?
What a great place. Stayed Friday night till Saturday. Parking was right outside the hotel. You just go and pay at the kings dock car park 1 minute walk away. We told them where we were staying and paid £18 for over night stay. Now for the place itself. The staff were really friendly and when we went to the apartment and opened the door, it was definitely a wow factor. We had a great view of the kings docks from both the living area and the main bedroom. The apartment itself had a twin bedroom and a double bedroom.. The overall apartment was done to a very high standard. It was very spacious and immaculately cleaned. It had everything we needed and what a great location. It was 2 minutes away from the Liverpool wheel, which we did go on and enjoyed. And probably a 5 minute walk away from some great pubs. We would definitely stay here again & can't recommend it enough. We will be back soon.
The apartment was well equipped and presented and in a good location. Reception staff were welcoming and friendly. However, we encountered a number of serious issues during our stay. Some guests poured petrol over us from their open window when we were walking underneath. We reported it to reception, but received no update on what action was taken. We were then kept awake in the early hours by other guests shouting out of their windows for hours. They weren't evicted until late afternoon. The following night we were woken up by 4 police cars with sirens arriving outside the hotel. In addition, the beds were extremely uncomfortable; very soft mattresses with large springs which dig into you, with no apparent padding on top. We were told they were hoping to get mattress toppers in the future. We were missing hand wash and shower gel which reception said must have been taken by previous guests with no replacement available. No spare toilet rolls provided for a 3 night stay. All of the issues were reported to reception and in the customer survey after our stay.
When I visit Liverpool I usually stay at Staybridge Suites (which is right next door to the dockside apart hotel, pretty much the same price and 110% better. I left my booking to the last minute and could get in there, so thought I'd try this one… hoping they'd be the same! I was very wrong. Let's start with the good points, but there aren't many. Nice view from the rooms pretty good location for the convention centre and the girl on reception was super helpful at check-in. Now with the bad points! Despite having a car park right outside the front door you're not actually allowed to use it and you have to park in the multistorey down the road and it's eye watering really expensive). The bed is probably the worst bed I've ever slept in! You can feel every spring! it is so bad that I had to get the duvet off the spare bed just to try and plump it up. I literally have marks on my side of my body from having springs poking in me. The lighting is all super white and floresent, giving the impression of being in a hospital… the rooms smell like feet… even days after having the windows open… over three days the rooms smell never got serviced! And… the hotel is a construction site, and the lift beeps like mad… (and is rusty). I don't usually write reviews, but honestly this was so bad if it had been half price I could've maybe put up with it but it also was far from the cheapest option!
Wow what absolute amazing apartments in an amazing location ! These room all look new & are spotlessly clean. We had 3 rooms booked and none of us had any issues. Staff even allowed us to checkin early, which enabled us to head into Liverpool. The views from the rooms are amazing, I'd stay here again in an heart beat
Location perfect for arenas, beatles story, Liverpool one shopping. Albert Dock lovely full of restaurants shops and a walk a little further to the beatles statue. We could also walk to the cavern club. Apartment clean modern, worked well for us. Parking at kings dock car park is discounted and actually meant we were right outside. Just ask as you check in. Only 20 min drive to Anfield too.
