The room was nicely decorated and everything was super clean. The bed was comfy, the heater/AC was quiet and worked well, and the Jacuzzi tub was amazing! The lobby was beautifully decorated and the staff was welcoming. We will definitely be staying here again and would recommend to anyone planning to stay.

This is a neat, clean and modern Best Western Hotel. From I-5 and from Atlantic Avenue, about all you can see it the sign. But upon driving past the sign into the parking lot, the attractive hotel structure appears. It is a tasteful and well-built building, inside and out. The rooms are modern, well-furnished, and well-maintained. The service is courteous and helpful. This Best Western is especially noteworthy because has a nice indoor pool and hot tub, as well as a sumptuous hot breakfast (complete with eggs, sausage/bacon, and potatoes). These can be very welcome features on a cold, rainy day!

"The bed was rock hard"

While the hotel was recently remodeled, and the room was nice enough, we just couldn't get any sleep, because the bed was so uncomfortable. We were in the area, to visit family, and had been on the go, since 5am. We were only staying over, for the one night, but had planned to have breakfast, then relax in the hot tub, and swim for a bit, before heading home. Although we were in bed by about 10pm, by 2am, I really just wanted to pack up and go home. I was in tears, because I was so tired, but I couldn't get comfortable. I would occasionally fall asleep for 15 or 20 minutes, but that was about it. My husband was also extremely uncomfortable, but was concerned that if he didn't continue trying to sleep, that it wouldn't be safe to drive. At 6am, we did have breakfast, which we enjoyed, then immediately left for home.We may have gotten a total of about two hours of sleep. Since sleeping is the entire purpose of having a hotel room, nothing else matters much. We never did get to enjoy the pool and hot tub, since getting home to get some sleep, became our priority.

this hotel is the place to stay in this small town of Woodland.The room needed a bit of love and care in the bathroom but overall it was great.(i don't believe that i need to go 200 characters for a review, it should be whatever we want...)

"Amazing staff"

The staff was very friendly, accommodating, and fast. The beds we're extremely comfortable and our room was clean and tidy. The pool was clean and warm and the hot tub temperature was perfect. Everything was great, although the breakfast could be better. It's in the lobby and would be better in a bigger room with more seating.

We stopped here to be close the new casino and were very pleased with this location. Fantastic rooms - I loved the design of ours, room 216. There was a little wall that separated the bed space from the couch and living area. This really added to the value as it felt more like a little home away from home style suite. Thank you soo much Best Western for a wonderful rest, great rate, and Welcome! Highly recommended for the area or rest stop.

"Not Wild About Their Handicap Room"

For some reason when we arrived they gave us this room on the first floor, which I was excited about not having to take an elevator. However, it was a handicap room and the shower was less than ideal. I suppose if you really needed it that would be different. The shower was really flat and you had to watch so that the water would not go out that much (which explains why the carpet to the bathroom was damp. Also, we didn't think adjusting the temperature to the air-conditioner did anything. The room was stuffy all night. Breakfast was nothing special; in fact, they only had dark roast coffee.

Hello, I do apologize you did not enjoy the free breakfast or the ADA room. Our ADA room is equipped with a roll in shower. When booking directly at the hotel this room type is only assigned upon request. We have noticed that when booking with third party sites this room is often booked accidentally by the third party through their reservation system. Good spot conveniently located for easy access to Hwy 5. Has all the ammenities for a short stay - fitness room ( small) and pool. Very pleassnt and professional reception and check in. Room was clean with small bar fridge. Complimentary breakfast included. Nothing fancy but a bit of everything for all tastes. Clean and comfortable facility. Just what we needed after long ray of driving. Reasonable rates

we stay here if possible when in the Woodland , Ca. area , usually pretty full as it butts up to Hwy 5 & 113 . Breakfast could be better , but there is enough. It good centrally located , but if you don't know the area a bit confusing to get to , also the restaurant located on same property is closed , so you need to drive to someplace to eat.

"Good place to stay"

The service was excellent. Had a little trouble with key cards, but the front desk staff were eager to let you into your room when you needed to. Other than that, the rooms were spacious and very quiet. Breakfast was also available in the lobby, with plenty of good food and variety. Enjoyed our stay here, will definitely come back.

"Mostly clean and no frills "

This is a standard hotel. Rooms were clean and no frills. Room A/C was not on when we arrived, so we had to cool it down from 79. Hotel elevator was musty and smelled foul. And the room that we were originally supposed to use was occupied, but we got another identical room. There's no need to go back unless I have to be in the area, but it served basic needs.

"Terrible Customer Service"

I made a mistake while booking one night at this hotel. The booking was Saturday night, when we needed a room the Thursday night prior. When arriving, we discovered the mistake. The person working the desk let us know our booking was for another night. There was no vacancy, so the hotel was not able to change our reservation. At the night manager's recommendation, we made a reservation at another (nicer) hotel up the road for the same price. The night manager stated if we call Orbitz, they would still be able to refund the amount, even though the trip insurance was not purchased. They explained that Orbitz would simply call the manager at the BW desk during business hours and that it was routine to approve a refund, since they are typically very full. When I called Orbitz on Friday morning, Orbitz support performed exactly as described by the BW night manager. Surprisingly, the General Manager refused to refund the payment, and Orbitz could not refund. I called the GM of BW to explain the situation, that I would not be in need of a room on Sunday and had to book elsewhere due to no vacancy at BW on the night in need. After 5min of discussion, the BW GM refused to refund the night and the reservation remained. I am out the hotel cost, and have now discovered a much nicer hotel 5min away, for the same price. I will not be staying with BW again. I was a platinum member

As you were told by your booking agency and myself; you had chosen to book a non-refundable reservation; with no cancelation policy. As explained to you by Orbitz; they would be willing to cancel your room for you; however you would have pay a cancelation fee. As you booked through Orbitz; the cancelation fee was an agreed upon price by you and Orbitz. While Best Western was the hotel you selected to stay at through Orbitz; we have no control over the fees and agreements you make with Orbitz. I do realize that can be very confusing and do apologize for the confusion and anger you had during the customer service experience. We wish you the best of luck in the future. Thank you

The room was great, no problems. The view was not the beat but the breakfast was very good, large selection of entrees . Had coffee in the room as well. Check out was very easy as well. The parking was convenient

We stayed here for 2 nights, before and after hiking up to Mount St Helens crater rim. First, boy are we so glad we opted to stay here (vs in Cougar), and drive the extra distance to trailhead! Although appears on map to be on frontage road, it is set well back from I-5. The rooms are beautifully spacious, and sound proofing is excellent. Everything was clean, and staff exceptionally friendly. Breakfast is standard, BW fare; the eating area clean, the hot items very edible. Lobby couch area is attractive. We were well rested before an early morning start on our hike. Room fan/AC worked well, and not too noisy. Did not use the pool, but it looked clean and nice for an indoor pool. Overall, was nicer than some BW-'Plus' hotels I've stayed in. Would highly recommend if needing to stop in this area, or exploring the southwest side of Mt St H.

"Convenient to the expressway"

Average hotel, but seemed a bit expensive for the location/time. Havd TV troubles that they couldn't fix Golod location close to the expressway. Breakfast area was too small and we had to wait to find a seat. Breakfast was average

"Dirty Bedsheets"

The lobby of this older Best Western property is very nice and upon check in, the girl at the front desk was friendly. The A/C in our room was quiet and efficient. Unfortunately, that's about all I can say on the plus side. The first thing we noticed when we entered our room was that the back window was wide open (more on this later). After a long day of hiking, the first thing we do after check in, is take a shower to wash off the bug spray and whatever else we've picked up along the trail. Don't want to sleep in the chemicals, sweat and Mother Nature we've encountered/produced over the course of the day's adventures. After showering, I turned down the bed covers. The pillow cases on all four pillows were all tucked in (as seems to be the custom these days) but appeared to be a bit rumpled. Then I noticed a black smudge on one, then another of the pillow cases. My wife said it looked like mascara. Next I found a very small but distinctive burn hole in the bottom sheet. I subsequently discovered an identical burn hole in the mattress cover that was immediately under the first hole. Clearly, the linens had not been changed from a previous guest. I went to the front desk and told the young lady what I'd found and asked for and received a change of linens. I give her credit for not arguing or attempting a defense. Her response was “I am so sorry!”. When I asked for a set of clean linens, her response was “Of Course!”. Right answers! Since I volunteered upfront to change them myself, I'll allow that she didn't offer. As we were packing up to leave the next morning, my wife glanced up at the smoke detector on the ceiling above the bed and discovered a plastic bag had been placed around it, no doubt to conceal/block the smoke from a =previous guest's cigarettes. Now the open window made more sense. The room (115) was spacious and nicely furnished except for a couple of rather large stains on the carpet. We clearly heard conversations next door and in the hallway and due to the close proximity to the front desk and breakfast area, heard all the clatter from there. Over the course of a couple of weeks, we stayed at six Best Western properties with no noise issues so a I assume this is due to the construction of this particular property. Breakfast was also a bust. When we walked in at about 6:15 (they begin serving at 6) there were no breakfast plates. Those who were already eating were using the small pastry plates. I rang the bell at the front desk to get the attention of someone who could provide them. As the lady (who it appeared was in charge of the front desk AND the breakfast area) was looking for the plates, we discovered there were also no forks or spoons. After she supplied the plates and utensils and left (of course), I went to the juice dispenser but there were no cups. I used a cup intended for waffle batter for the waffle maker but the orange juice was diluted and tasteless. There was barely enough scrambled eggs in the tray for one small serving. There was a guy standing behind me observing the same thing. I passed on the eggs and told him to go for it. I settled for a couple of sausage links and a pastry. As luck would have it, most of the 6 or 7 tables in the breakfast area had only one person sitting at them. Since there were no empty tables, we settled onto a couple of chairs in the lobby. My wife noted that I didn't have coffee. I'm a coffee guy. Got to have it. Too bad. The “regular” coffee carafe was empty. Ok. I'll settle for decaf. Nope. Lukewarm. Took two sips and dumped the rest. There's are two Starbucks less than a mile down the road. By this time I almost felt like we were pestering the girl when I told her the “regular” carafe was empty. Finally, the garbage cans in the dining area and at the coffee stand were filthy. The exteriors looked like they hadn't been cleaned in....ever. Disgusting. If something so glaring and basic as cleaning the area where you're serving food to your customers is left unchecked, one has to wonder about hygiene during food preparation. They've got serious problems at this hotel. Given everything else, one has to believe that not changing the bed linens from a previous guest isn't an anomaly. I suspect it happens routinely. It would be difficult if not impossible to convince me otherwise. They just got caught this time. All of the staff that we spoke to were courteous and responded quickly to the things we brought to their attention. When we pointed out the smoke detector to the young lady at the front desk the next morning, she politely removed a portion of the room cost from our bill without our asking. That said, many of the issues we encountered could be forgiven. Not changing the linens from a previous guest cannot. We won't be staying here again.

We are fans of Best Western and given a choice that is where we will say. We were given a suite. We had 2 queen beds and a nice sitting area. The room was very large and very clean. The front desk staff were very nice and professional. The breakfast was the usual Best Western fare. We are always happy with the Best Western breakfasts. Very happy with this hotel.

"A good motel"

Room was large and nicely cleaned. Bed was frim and linens were nice and crisp. Having a microwave in the room was a nice feature to reheat foods. Pool is indoors and well maintained. They did seem to skimp on the bathroom toiletries (very small shampoo & conditioner bottles). Front desk staff was friendly & efficient. Breakfast was typical motel self serve items. Coffee was good.

"Big room, good bed, decent breakfast"

Hotel is not easy to find. When you turn in at the big sign you wonder if you're in the wrong place. The first thing you see is another business (which appears to be defunct). After a minute of wandering around, we found the BW at the back of the lot, with a tiny sign. Hotel is clean and quiet. Halls very dark but the room was fine. We had a big, comfortable room with a good bed. Breakfast was decent. Nothing luxurious in this place except the towels.

"Close by Stay"

The Woodland Inn, BEST WESTERN, is near the freeway (I-5) but tucked in off a business access road so it is not noisy. Very near to WA. State's newest Indian Gaming Casino (Ilani) off of I-5. You'll get a good breakfast buffet before you go try your luck from a very friendly staff. Freeway access is good also. ENJOY!

"Dark, not a great area"

This hotel was clean, but there is nothing else around, not a great area to stay. It claims to be remodeled, it was still dark and dreary. We we're initially given keys to a room that was already occupied!! Thank goodness those people were not there at the time! It took them about 15 minutes to get it straightened out and give us another room. Breakfast was meh, not enough seating and the seating they did have butted up against the buffet line. They use powered eggs instead of real eggs and they only had soy milk and lactose free yogurt, not regular. I would not recommend this Best Western at all!

"Hotel Stay in Woodland"

This Best Western was located in a great location. Easy Access to the freeway, close to restaurants, stores, and fuel stations. The hotel was clean and comfortable and would stay there again. There were two things that made our stay uncomfortable. It took a few minutes for the hot water to get hot and the alarm clock in the room didn't work.

"Casino fun"

Stayed here 1 night before going to Seattle. We went to the casino near by and had alot of fun. The stay was great and near to casino, food and the freeway. We will definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends and family.

We have stayed at Woodland Bar Western and have always recommended it friends who are travelling. It is far back from the main highway so is quiet. Comfortable beds and awesome breakfast., The rooms are large and attractive. From the location, it is easy to get back on the highway to head home., any direction.Considering quality, the rates are very reasonable.

The two women who checked us in seemed honestly concerned that we have a very pleasant stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was full the night that we were there, but it wasn't too noisy - we did hear the train whistle multiple times during the night, though. We appreciated the refrigerator and microwave in the room.

"Great Night's Sleep"

This hotel was clean, and extremely comfortable. The king sized bed was my favorite bed I slept on in our two and a half week road trip. The staff were friendly and courteous. The staff seemed genuinely interested in making your stay as enjoyable as possible. The location was extremely convenient, yet you didn't hear the highway noise when in the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Very nice place to stay while travelling on business. Hotel staff provided exceptional service. My room was average in comforts but very quiet which enabled me to have a good night's sleep. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

The location is ok, far enough from the freeway that you don't hear it. Lots of good restaurants across the freeway. Rooms clean and comfortable. BUT it stinks of dog, in the hallway and the elevator. The elevator stunk so bad that we couldn't use it. It smelled like dog poop and old wet dog. Luckily we didn't hear the barking in our room, but everytime we went in the hallway you could here them barking. No one but multiple dogs, big dogs not poodles . We slept well and breakfast was good but the dog stink really put us off. This is a BW not a motel 6. Very dissatisfied.

This hotel is a couple of miles north of the main exit for Woodland (Costco, mall shopping, other hotels) but is well maintained and managed. Being a older style motel the rooms are a little smaller but have been nicely updated. The inside courtyard has a pool and hot tub.

Check in was easy and with friendly staff. Lobby is very attractive leading off to breakfast area as well as a sitting area in front of gas fireplace. Two queen size beds, renovated room, quiet and restful. Breakfast was very good, fresh scrambled eggs and variety of breads, waffles and cereals. Missed out on internet offer so had to pay about $20 more with walk-in (check internet offers thru booking.com or similar or best prices same day) If you are given room on second floor and need elevator (for heavy bags or a disability) try getting room assigned towards the elevator which is at one end of the hotel, otherwise it is a long walk from the elevator end of hall towards other end. Really good restful stop in a well appointed and decorated Best Western. Very close proximity to the I-5 for those travelling and no noise affecting room.

"Convenient and Clean"

The BW Woodland Inn is a nice choice in this part of Washington state. We stayed there because it was close to the new Ilani Casino, just 4 miles south. It was a bit difficult to find at first, but the access to the I-5 freeway was easy both north and south. I like the simplicity of staying at Best Western hotels. Booking on line is easy. I booked a 2nd room for friends traveling with us, and they were able to pay with their credit card and earn their own rewards points. I appreciate that service.

I have stayed here many times and have always been pleased The rooms are clean and neat. The staff are always friendly and helpful!!!!! The driveway is a little hard to find at first because the Best Western has a long driveway and is hard to see from the road but once you are there it is well worth the short ride down the driveway. I have stayed here many times and happily will continue to do so

There was sperm stains on the bed. Cryptic message on the mirror when the stem was there( I know what you did last summer). Wholes in the shower curtain. No water pressure. Very dirty room. Crap on the toilet.

Checking in and out was annoying both front desk clerks were rude. The food at the breakfast was undercooked, you have to cook some of your own food. it's a bed and breakfast not a bed and make your own breakfast. The heater song every time we turned it on. The ice machine was broken and when we got some from the front desk it was an unsatisfactory amount.

I can understand your frustration as there were times when you had to small wait for the service of other guests before we were able to provide additional amenities and needs to your room. I admire our staff and their dedication as they continued to provide for you despite the adversity set before them in this situation. Thank you for your patience as our ice machine is down and we await for a replacement coming from the factory. I, being someone who prefers to have my beverages iced as well, know how inconvenient and frustrating this can be. As such, we are providing ice at the front desk any time of day, weather someone chooses to bring out their ice bucket or the two cups from your room. We will gladly fill those for you as many times as you request. I am touched our staff created the atmosphere and the personal touches and service for us to give the impression that we are a bed and breakfast! That is a huge compliment for us as sometimes being part of a chain can sometimes be impersonal and robotic. We work very hard to make sure that this does not happen at our location. However, I do apologize, as you said many times over in other reviews that you felt it was inappropriate to be making your own waffle in the morning. We find that our guests love the make your own waffle bar as they can mix in additives to the already made waffle batter such as chocolate chips, or cinnamon. I love seeing the creativity of our guests as they add toppings to their individual tastes. I do understand that this may not be an option for everyone, which is why we provide so many other choices such as scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon and hash browns along with many different pastries, breads, and oatmeal! However, as it sounds like your preference runs for room service, sadly, we are not a large enough hotel in a large enough area to be able to provide things such as room service as I am sure you are familiar with being from the local area. Thank you for taking the time to air your grievances, we wish you all the luck and good cheer for the future.

The whole check in process was so Easy, the room was really clean and the bed was super comfortable. The Hot Tub in the bedroom was amazing as well it was nice to come to a room late at night and just sit in the hot tub and relax.

Decided on a two night out for a long weekend then realized after arrival my days were mixed up so could only stay one night. Will definitely try this place again though. It was very clean and the staff were good. The night clerk even had to come up and set the TV for us so it would work. Enjoyed the stay and would recommend this if your in the are traveling on I-5 and need a break. It is off of the road, you have to drive through two commercial buildings to get to it but that makes it better.

This hotel was close enough to Ilani (casino) to be very convenient. I believe it was the best option for price and location. Nice clean, comfortable cozy hotel. If i was to come out to the casino, i will most definitely be staying at Best Western again.

You never know for sure what you're getting when you book a hotel room via the internet, especially when it's in small unfamiliar town. We were pleasantly surprised! The room was clean and comfortable and looked recently updated (just guessing). The staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was much more than we expected. If the need arises I know where to stay in Woodland!

Nice clean property, clean rooms, very nice lobby / breakfast area. Comfortable beds, vending, quiet location and 1 minute from the interstate. Friendly staff, who gave us a great tip on sightseeing. Hot breakfast, nothing too fancy, but enough to get you going in the morning. Fresh baked cookies in the evening. The best deal of the 3 hotels we considered. Overall, very pleased with this hotel.

Overall rating is Average to very good The Breakfast was good we had to wait for our rooms however we were early they were nice enough to have them ready very quickly. The bed sleep okay. It sounded as though there was water dripping throughout the walls from the upstairs bathroom could have just beem the pipes. Overall it was annice stay.

We arrived late and our room was held despite the hotel being unable to contact us via mobile about credit card verification. They checked that the dialling code was outside the US and rightly presumed that we had a network problem. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Cleanliness and sleep quality good with a decent breakfast.

It looks like Best Western has purchased a local independent hotel and bring it up to their standards, but the "bones" of this building was build cheap. Room had a musty smell to it, and the interior noise of the room from the hallway was very loud.

Older renovated motel tucked away in an area that you wouldn't think a motel would be. Hard to find off the beaten path with a small sign. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I'd definitely stay there again.

Two nights here while competing at the Clark County Fairgrounds. I was traveling with a pet. My room was a "pet friendly room". The room was very clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Wi-if worked very well. No pet odor from possible previous pets. Breakfast was basic but hot and area was well kept. Excellent grassy area for walking pets. Will definitely stay here again.

Would definitely stay here again. Very reasonable and great location for Mt St Helens fabulous trip. Also went to the gorge,but most attractions closed due to previous weeks of fires in the area. Still a very beautiful drive on highway 14 on the Washington side of the Hood River.

Based on other reviews, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this room. Handicapped room had unusually large bath counter space which I appreciated. Most hotels barely have room for one woman to put her stuff. Also appreciated a normal shower head and not something so complicated that you couldn't figure it out. Decor was nice although paintings on wall looked tired and out of date. Well kept grounds and appearance was a surprise after difficulty in finding the way back behind a large commercial building. Far enough from freeway that we didn't hear any noise. Easier to access if coming from the south, but we managed to find it using navigator coming from the north. The hotel was full but we never heard anyone. Breakfast was more than adequate with waffle machine easy to use. Orange juice tasted better than many hotels. Even the generic in room coffee was good.

We found the room to be nicely appointed. Had all the amenities plus a microwave and refrigerator. ONE NOTE: The microwave does not work when plugged into the top plug in ROOM 111. I had to unplug the fridge and use that plug for the microwave. The beds were clean and comfortable. It does set back off the road so it is quiet.

Outstanding Motel. I was impressed the way smokers are treated with the smoking area outside and under a covered area. Very clean and neat. My wife and I will stay at Best Western in the future. Keep up the great work. The staff kept freash coffee in the lobby all night.

Our stay was enjoyable. The location worked well for our family getting together for a wedding. Not having visited Woodland before we found the location a bit odd and yet far enough back from I-5 to minimize highway noise. Overall it was just right in terms of price and convenience.

"Hard to Find, Odd Layout"

The rooms were fine, and the beds were comfortable, so would stay here again. Regardless of the big sign along the road, you don't see the hotel building hidden behind a fence, and another building. And, you can't access it from the businesses behind the hotel, only from the front entrance. Not really much around the front side of it. The elevator is at the far end of the hallway away from the lobby, unless we missed another elevator. There is a door at that end, but may be best to park near the elevator if you have a lot of unloading to do.

This hotel is hard to find from the road being set back but the up side is the quiet location. Superb breakfast, comfortable beds, quiet location all made for a great relaxing stay. Also it is close to the freeway entrance/exit.

The room fridge still had the last guest stuff was in the room (it made wonder if they cleaned at all) that is just gross. The stuff was very unpleasant when simply asking them to do their job, like replace a key that won't work.

We were just here for 1 night as we are traveling around. The staff were friendly, rooms were nice, quite large and clean. All our rooms had fridge, microwave and hairdryer. Water pressure and temperature was good and the bed was very comfortable.

Great value and super friendly staff. Odd entrance, but once you get there it's really great! Everyone was super helpful. Rooms are really clean with a fridge & microwave. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. Only 4.5 miles from the new Casino. No shuttle, so we just took a Lyft. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here on a trip to Oregon. Room was alright with a good sized washroom and two double beds. Decently clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Checkin and Checkout where quick and uneventful. Did not have time to sample the breakfast but it seemed to have all the usual food choices for a hotel of this type.

The only complaint I have is the placement of elevator. It is at one end of the hotel. It should be centrally located. People like myself who have difficulty with walking find it difficult to walk from one end of the second floor to other end of second floor. Especially when carrying luggage!!!

Young man at check-in was very helpful and genuine, he went out of his way to fetch a luggage cart. (1 wheel was coming apart but certainly wasn't his fault I'm sure he didn't realize, we still managed) Breakfast was as expected. This is our second stay at this facility. It is well maintained. The accommodations were clean. The bed and room were comfortable. Although near the highway, the room was quiet. The location is easy to get to from the interstate highway. Shopping and fast food restaurants are close by. We will stay again.

We stayed here the night prior to summiting Mt. St. Helens. It was a very relaxing place in civilization where we were able to rest before hiking Mt. St. Helens. I highly recommend doing this over the local closer hotel. We used the hot tub that night, which added to the relaxing.

We saw a nice indoor pool and sauna, but we arrived late, so we didn't have time to use it. The beds are comfortable and clean. We were able to use multiple devices with the internet, which is great. For the price, I would stay here over Motel 6 or Rodeway Inn. They have good hot breakfast also.

It was a prefect place to stay after going to the ape caves . We were tired and after dinner we went swimming . It was so relaxing We fell a sleep right away. We woke up fresh continue our trip to see the other side of Mt Saint Helen .We were very excited.

When I have absolutely no complaints about a Best Western, I give it 5 stars. This one was a very nice inn. Although it wasn't a new property, it had undergone renovations at one time to update the lobby area and rooms. The bed was nice and comfy. We enjoyed using the indoor hot tub, although the pool was a little chilly for us. It was conveniently located near the interstate. My overall impression of the place was quite favorable.

"My first Best Western"

My mom picked the BW in Woodland, WA. We were in Woodland for a family wedding. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel; very nice place, great room, exceptional people and, a big deal to me, the breakfast was way beyond what I expected. The room was good sized and very clean. The location was quiet and the hotel looked brand new. The only issue was finding it, the hotel sets back from the street, behind some commercial buildings. Good news: zero business noise or traffic.

Stayed here on our way to the coast. Great location close to restaurants, things to do, and the highway! The breakfast was very good with lots of options. A great value there was 6 of us and we got a suite with two beds and a pull out couch and all was very comfy!

My stay was not very pleasant because the General Manager was not helpful and in fact she 'scolded ' me when I complained. Basically we were not allowed to sit in the breakfast room /lobby early in the morning because it was hard for the morning clerk who did not have a name tag. We also found a bandaid and dirty kleenex in the ice bucket. The General Manager did not seem like she thought that was a big deal. Phone calls did not get put through to the room. Some of the staff was very helpful but the General Manager set a bad tone.

The property appeared fairly new and was very clean and comfortable. It was not in a pretty location, but it was convenient for what we needed and I felt safe walking to a nearby restaurant. The cost was reasonable and the staff was available when needed to answer a question.

Overall, this was a decent place to stay. There was not really anything special that stood out about this hotel. We did discover urine stains on a mattress pad when we had to change sheets during the night due to our daughter getting ill. Other than that, the room was clean and the stay was fine.

Staying in a Jacuzzi King Suite at Best Western at Woodland, WA. in June of 2017 was the best hotel experience we had on our vacation with a quick and accurate check in with ANDY. We paid more money for rooms at other hotels and got much less. The jacuzzi King Suite was everything it should be, extremely clean, well maintained, comfortable and enjoyable. The jacuzzi itself was perfect in every way. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, the TV worked well and the remote cleaned and disinfected. The breakfast was very good with hot scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, 3 cereals, muffins, yogurt, juices, mini waffles and regular waffles, fresh fruit, bagels, a variety of breads, a variety of instant oatmeal and pastries. Check out went as quickly as check in and there were restaurants for dinner and breakfast within a few miles. We recommend the Jacuzzi King Suite. On the way back we stayed here in a regular room and nothing was a good...the toilet ran, the breakfast was not as good and the room was not as clean. However it was still better than most other places.

Clean hotel, comfortable, super friendly and helpful staff, easy to find off freeway and great continental breakfast. We were very happy with the hotel staff and accommodations. We had some trouble making changes to our reservations with the 1-800 number staff, so if you need to do that call the hotel directly, they were much more helpful.

"Not much to choose from in Woodland"

This is your average budget no frills hotel. Just my wife, we stayed 3 days while visiting relatives in the area. Cons: No fan or heat in the bathroom, paper cups for the single serve coffee pot, toilets are low to the ground and great if your 8 years old but if you're a senior citizen....well enough said. Check in was a bit testy, only one elevator that's located to the right at the far end of the bldg and not by the lobby, which is in the middle of the building, so if you happen to get a room on the other far end to the left have fun dragging your luggage around. Only one ice machine, ground floor by the lobby. Pros: Room was clean, housekeeping went above and beyond granting our requests for early cleaning and leaving extra coffee packs. Breakfast was the usual fair of waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, cold cereal, etc, and it was pretty good. Served from 6 to 9 AM. Free WiFi and not too bad, cable TV had lots of channels. I'd stay here again, there's nothing any better in Woodland or Kalama.

Great place to stay and easy access to the new Ilani Casino. Great time and great place to stay! Front desk staff was super helpful and offered suggestions on ways to get to the casino so we didn't have to drive which was nice. Rooms were very clean and comfortable!

Andy greeted us warmly at the Front Desk when we inquired about a room. Extremely helpful and charming. Made our 'end of the day' a great and relaxing one. One of peace. Jessica B. checked us out and was also warm and extremely pleasant. She provided us with a comb (can you believe I forgot to pack one!?). Thanks for helping a weary traveler out Jess. And for starting our morning out on a good note. If I could, I would rate this BW an eleven (11) on a scale of 1 to 10. The newness of the decor (the Lobby especially) uplifted my thought as I entered into the Inn. Was so grateful for the fridge in the room and for the offering of soy milk at breakfast (a really satisfying breakfast BTW). Very thoughtful. (Not to mention the whipped cream for the waffles!) Everything was clean and gave one a sense of "all is well." Thanks for a great stay. Hope to be back again one day.

"Can't Go Wrong"

It is always pleasant to find cookies set out when we arrive. That was the case here even though we checked in around 1500. Check in was slow as the agent on duty took a phone call (while we were standing in line). The result was we waited approximately 10 minutes for that call to conclude. I'd have appreciated the agent taking the caller's number and offering to return the call once he had completed assisting the folks who were in line to check in. We are Diamond Select with Best Western and received a room upgrade (without asking) to a king “suite” with whirlpool! So nice of them. The room was very large with plenty of landing spots for our luggage. The whirlpool was in the main room, separate from the bathroom, and worked perfectly with all jets functioning. Everything was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable so we had no complaints. Breakfast was decent and I liked the “Special Scramble” they offered with eggs, meat and potatoes. They also offered cheese and salsa as toppings. The OJ was disappointing though. This hotel is great value for the money.

We stayed for only one night, but will definitely stay here again. Updated decor and very comfortable rooms. Our room was very quiet! Comfortable bed, cute bathroom and plenty of fluffy towels! Great looking lobby and breakfast area. We didn't take advantage of the free full breakfast which was served from 6 to 10 on the weekend. Hotel was close to restaurants and grocery store.

Location has no restaurants within easy walk. Heater did not work. Kind of thin walled. Was neat and tidy. I probably will not stay here again and I have stayed in a lot of Best Westerns and the room was ok. BUT NEEDS HEAT. They should have took a little $ off for that. The room was very comfortable as I've come to expect from Best Western. Since it is back off the freeway it is quiet with no freeway noise. I had issues with the internet and Justin didn't just give me a phone # with a good luck wish, he took the time to get it up and running. "Never return again"

My wife and our two babies stayed at the Best Western in Woodland. The night we checked in I paid in advance for the room and the $250 cash deposit. While I was out fishing the manager contacted my wife and told her that noon was check out time. I previously told the front desk that I would be late getting back from my fishing trip. The manage was not aware of my deposit and asked my wife to leave the room with the babies and if she refused the manager would call the police and have her escorted out. When I returned to the Hotel my wife and babies were waiting for me in the lobby. Needless to say we did not enjoy our stay...

We stayed here for the night prior to our summit hike to Mt. St. Helens. It appeared to be a popular venue for that as there was couple other parties also there for the same purpose. The hotel was clean and quiet. The room was nothing special but beds clean and comfortable. There was complimentary morning breakfast. The front desk was business-like but the staff was helpful in providing extra garbage bags that we had asked for. The lobby was bright and appeared to be updated, though the hallways seem a bit dated, and dark. Rest of the hotel amenities we didn't get much of a chance to use.

Online pet policy states a max weight of 80lbs. After we checked in, we were told (and made to sign) a form which stated max weight 40lbs! Fortunately, we only stayed one night. Also, there was a group of RR workers staying there who came and went for their shifts in the wee hours of the morning. We could hear every room door slam shut and their voices outside through our window. Point: thin walls

"Charged My Non-Smoking Grandparents a Smoking Fee"

The hotel itself was fine – comfortable bed, clean room, etc. It would have been nice if during their big remodel of the place they would have done a better job at creating a comfortably sized breakfast room layout, but that's hardly anything to worry about. Employees really weren't that friendly the whole weekend (I stayed two nights), except for the gentleman checking me out, who actually inquired about my stay and questioned me further when I wasn't enthusiastic enough in my response. The problems didn't come until a few weeks after check out. I work at a different Best Western property, and had booked rooms for both my grandparents and myself. My grandma called me after she received her credit card bill and found the hotel charge was $250 too much. She had spoken with the manager, Jessica, who she said was rude and refused to take the fee off, so I called the hotel to get more information. Jessica told me three people went to the room and agreed it smelled heavily of smoke, then explained what is entailed in cleaning a room after somebody smokes in it. I told her I understood the fee because I work at a Best Western, but insisted it was a mistake, as my grandparents don't smoke. Never have. (Unless the hotel just revealed a huge family secret that my grandma chose to expose to me. I was also with them quite a bit throughout the weekend and would have noticed a smell). I asked if she had pictures and only then did she say she did. She had pictures of butts on the nightstand. I asked if she had pictures of the room number, but she didn't. As soon as she said there weren't pictures of the room number, she said that of course everybody says they didn't smoke, but just because I'm a BW employee she would reverse the fee. I thanked her and asked for a copy of the updated folio showing the refund emailed to me. She rudely laughed and said, “you know I can't do that” so I asked her to send it to my grandparents. I also asked if she would send the pictures–I was curious to check the time stamp or anything identifying in the picture that would suggest a mistaken room. She said she'd have to get them from the housekeeper who took them, but she'd send them. I called back four days later because we didn't get the pictures, and she told me she was still waiting for the housekeeper to send them. I called a 3rd time two days later and Jessica said the housekeeper accidentally deleted the pictures. Concerned over what appeared to be a shady employee (or multiple) taking advantage of an elderly couple, including an 88 year old man with obvious dementia, who is the one whose card was used to pay for the room, I emailed Best Western Customer Care, who I knew would also let the hotel know of my concerns. Instead of contacting me to try to assure me that their employees were honest and would never do such a thing, or perhaps that the whole thing was just a misunderstanding, all the hotel did was contact Best Western Customer Care to let them know that they refunded the smoking charge – which I had already mentioned in my email to Customer Care. While the bed was great and the cleanliness was fine, you can get that anywhere. A vulnerable elderly couple in their late 80s being randomly charged a smoking fee and then the proof “accidentally” getting deleted is not something you'll get anywhere. I was wanting to give the hotel the benefit of the doubt and wait to post a review until everything had been settled, but it appears everything is settled, with no more answers than I had before.

We were pleasantly surprised by what appears to be the newness of this property. It is tucked away and not readily apparent from the road. The property itself didn't not have the long in the tooth tired appearance. The room was quiet, the furnishings commensurate with BW but comfortable. We didn't partake of breakfast.

Property really not bad, but from initial check-in we felt almost unwelcome. Had our two dogs with us and there were lots of forms to complete, but they missed one thing that we found at another hotel in Everett - asking for our cell phone number in case we were out and they needed to reach us. If travelling with pets, try elsewhere.

Our hotel stay was pleasant, nicely appointed rooms, nicely presented lobby and breakfast room, indoor pool, all were very clean, beds were comfortable on the firm side, served eggs, sausage and home fries or waffles for breakfast, overall good stay.

"Huge hotel - Very Quiet"

We arrived here after a long day on the road, tired and without a reservation. It was a good choice. Our room was large, well appointed, clean, and quiet. We slept well. They offered a nice continental breakfast. We liked that there was a restaurant in the same parking lot where we had a nice home cooked type meal, and that it was right off the freeway.

The hotel is clean, well maintained, and modern. Room was very clean, nice furniture and comfortable couch. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were amazing. I am rarely satisfied by hotel pillows, this was an exception. Staff were friendly and courteous. The breakfast was perfect. Fresh and well maintained. I hope to stay at this location again.

Good accommodations close to Portland but far enough away to enjoy the MUCH cheaper price. Good breakfast/comfortable beds. High-Speed internet was problematic and continuslly returned error messages. It was basically unusable. N0ot a real problem for a family vacation as I would rather the kids put away the electronics and enjoy family life but it would have been a big problem on a business trip. I rated the rooms as "average" for this reason. Everything else was steller.

Didn't do a lot of research in finding a place, but I trusted the Best Western brand name. I wasn't disappointed. Price during the week was a bargain, but of course, the price goes up on Fridays and weekends. I checked in on a Thursday and decided to stay one more day. I was very fortunate that they had a cancelation. My trip was a two to three day trip to Portland and Beaverton. I didn't want to spend a tonne of money, so decided to stay at a place an hour or less drive from Portland. This seemed like a great idea at the time. One big word of caution. Traffic. One of the worst I've experienced, and I've been to NY, Toronto, and LA. Just horrible. If you plan on visiting Portland, maybe it's worth your while to find a hotel in Portland. Even then, there's going to be traffic, but not as bad as the freeways. I guess it would be better if you just did your driving during off peak periods. The traffic in and around Portland just killed it for me. Okay, the traffic in Seattle just added salt to the wound. Next time, I'll drive at around 2 in the morning, LOL.

"Poor management of a good facility"

It was a clean facility, but many things that could have been managed much better. Check-in was not easy with a closed front entry for resealing purposes, forcing guests to enter to the side by ducking under trees that covered the walkway. Suites are not dog-friendly and do not have adequate bedding on hand for the fold-away couch / bed. Breakfast quality was poor and supplies ran out before breakfast was over. 9am is a very early end time for breakfast service.

"Filthy bathroom"

There's a good and a bad about this place. To begin with the good. The outside of this Best Western looks clean and well maintained. The inside lobby is the same way. It is beautiful and looks like it has just been updated. Even the decor in the room has a nice appearance. However, the most important thing to us is cleanliness. I posted a picture of the toilet. That was really bad. Obviously, it had not been cleaned from the previous occupant of the room or was it the occupant before that? It appeared as if diaharra hadn't been cleaned off of it. Believe me it wasn't a pleasant sight when in the bathtub. We were pretty disgusted with that. A dust rag would have also been nice for the top of the bed frames. Husband went down to night clerk who didn't seem too concerned. I think I would have thrown my arms in the air and offered to get it cleaned immediately but not so with the clerk. Her only comment was that she didn't have many rooms left. The next morning we went down for breakfast and returning to the room our key cards didn't work. Only one worked the night before anyway but now neither worked. Manager at the desk indicated it was our cell phones. Not sure that blame needed to be placed anywhere but funny because they hadn't been close to the phones. What about an "i'm sorry. Let me make you new ones." Breakfast bar was pretty good. However, it would have been nice if the attendant had wiped off the tops of the tables from others. Obviously, we weren't pleased with this Best Western. I doubt we'd stay here again.

This place was terrific. It was actually charming with terrific decor and music playing throughout the hallways and lobby. We loved the pool and the breakfast was fantastic complete with eggs, sausage, waffles, french toast sticks, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. It was also wonderful to have a noon checkout rather than 11am particularly with kids. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel for any future stay!

"Ruined our Wedding Night!"

We would need a full refund of the $187.59 we spent to ever stay at a Best Western Hotel again. This was the worst experience of our lives. I had booked a reservation through AAA in Oregon for the Best Western Hotel in Woodland WA for our Wedding Night! I had booked the king suite with jacuzzi, the best room available months in advance. Upon ariving at the Woodland hotel we were told that not only had they given our room away but that they also did not have another room available. They said there was nothing they could do even though they knew that it was our wedding night hotel which was stated by AAA. After some time we were able to talk them into calling the Best Western in Kelso Washington where we were charged an additional $30.00 for a room that wasn't as nice as the original, there wasn't even a jacuzzi. AAA is now as furious as we are. I will tell everyone I know this story and I hope AAA does as well. Unless we are given a full refund. Thanks for ruining our wedding night! Regrettfully, Kyle

"A nice Best Western property"

I travel a lot and Best Western is one of the chains I use, so I decided to stay in their property at Woodland while on a leisure/business trip in southwestern Washington. The check in woman at the desk was excellent and very professional. Most of the rest were excellent too and the service would have gotten higher marks except for the fact that the manager used some non factual excuse to explain the early termination of breakfast service. Every other Washington state hotel I stayed in during this trip offered some sort of breakfast until 10 AM, but unbeknownst to me this property ended its breakfast at 9 AM. The manager informed me that this was due to a new Washington state regulation requiring them to do so. Upon further investigation this proved to be false. Fortunately the property had a very helpful and conscientious kitchen staff member who was able to somewhat accommodate us and help save the reputation of an otherwise decent Best Western property. Other than this incident, the room was comfortable and the rest of the stay was pleasant.

This place is a joke. The manager told me we could pay in cash at the end of our stay and my card ended up being charged on top of it. The phone wouldn't work in our room. There was hair in both beds!

Beautifully renovated hotel. New lobby and rooms. Good sized room with king bed, sitting area with couch and work desk and still plenty of room. Set back from the freeway so very quiet even though we faced the freeway. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Only a 1 night stay since passing through and the small town doesn't have much to make you stay longer.

I book this hotel but canceled well in advance spoked to manager Jessica twice making sure my cancelation hotel change me anyway very poor way to treat coustmer I will never stay at B&W.I had to go through the credit company to get changes reverse that took some time I have never had experience that before by the hotel .

When I pulled into the town of Woodland I was a bit worried about what the hotel was going to be like. But it was great. It looks like has gone thru a bit of a remodel. The room was nicely decorated and clean. A bit of a messy paint job on the bathroom door but that was about it. Breakfast was better than I expected with waffles, eggs, sausage and potatoes along with cold food as well.

"Quick Stop Over"

We were in town for a wedding and made this our place of stay for the night. It was very convenient and easy to find right off the freeway. There are plenty of restaurants and gas stations nearby. It is set back from the road so at first we didn't think it was there. The rooms were neat and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was very quiet where the hotel is located. The staff was very pleasant to work with. Overall was a great value. Highly recommend.

"Convenient, Quiet, Good Price Point"

I often stay with Best Western for my travels. I have enjoyed the consistency in their product and services with good price point, and in most cases good location. I stayed at this hotel for the first time and they delivered the quality that I expected. Location: within a minute to I-5 freeway. Restaurants, gas stations, and Casino nearby. The hotel is hidden in the back of a parking/driveway of office buildings that felt uncomfortable when I first arrived but after I checked in it didn't bother me. Guestrooms: spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable. Delivers BW standards. Breakfast: free. Standard BW breakfast. Good value for the price point. Price Point: I paid 90 dollars for my room. Very good deal. Overall, excellent value.

"Not Best Anymore"

Most best westerns are going down hill. Used to be the only place I stayed, but using other motels mostly now. This one had cold coffee one morning , no coffee the next and the young man gave me attitgude when we asked for some. They also stole my food and and a bottle of water from the fridge. They did nothing about it when reported. 26 bucks down the drain and had to get more. Bed was good though.

was hard to find at first as it is set back of the parking lot, it is very nice, very quiet location, service was overall great rooms were great. the breakfast was horrible, eggs were watery and cold. provides laundry service, but staff couldnot find laundry detergent to sell and for some reason couldnt get ahold of another staff member to find out where it was... in the am had to ring a bell to get attention of staff for check out not a fan of having to ring bells for service. this is a great hotel would recommend and would stay here again.

"Overnight for concert"

Very nice overnight stay. Nicely remodeled and very convenient for attending a concert in Ridgefield. A couple things to note- the good: the desk attendant was very nice and attentive. The room was not fancy but fit our needs. The hotel was clean and easy to get to get to. The bad: our room was located directly above the laundry room and they started early morning with the wash and it sounded like a jet landing below the room-woke me up. Also, the free breakfast was very quickly wiped out by the mob of guests trying to fight their way in to the small counter. The staff seemed to struggle with keeping the items stocked. No coffee, forks, no bread- you get the picture. The desk attendant tried but seemed overwhelmed and maybe told by management to only put out a minimum amount of food. Also there was only a very small eating area that was take over by a large group of guests. Having said all of that, I would stay here again, maybe just go elsewhere for breakfast and ask for a room not located above the laundry.

"Decent for Woodland"

I stayed at this property about 1.5 years ago when it was managed under another hotel. It was fine then. Now that BW has taken over, it has been newly updated and looks nice. They re-arranged some of the lobby/breakfast area. Rooms are decent and clean. I'm still surprised how terrible job the contractors do when updating the rooms, so sloppy. I'd fire them if they were doing work for me. Rooms on I-5 are pretty quiet since the hotel is farther back off the frontage road. Pillows are super fat. I forgot mine and had difficulty sleeping. Why cannot any hotels offer a thinner pillow, I don't need my head jacked up so high that I get a sore neck. Work out facility looks nice but TV didn't work right so I didn't use. Overall decent place to stay and likely best place in Woodland.

The hotel was a little difficult to find as it is in the back of a parking lot. Also getting over to that side of the freeway is tricky if you are heading south. The lobby is beautifully updated. The desk agent was helpful and friendly. The room was nice and bed was comfortable. But... When I pulled back the sheets they were very wrinkled and appeared they hadn't been changed between guests. Maybe they just have wrinkled sheets.?.. The TV has lots of channels to choose from! Overall a very nice room! Breakfast was probably the worst part of our stay. It is right in the lobby with only three tables to sit at. The options were very limited and no one was refilling or cleaning up the area. It was disappointing considering the hotel was so beautiful! We opted to eat elsewhere for breakfast. Even with the breakfast I would say the hotel is a good value.

"Return to the past"

My fiancee and I are starting a long journey from the place of our first date many years ago. We picked the Woodland Inn. Because it has gone through a beautiful transition. It is a little hard to find in the Washington version of a beautiful day, but worth looking for. The staff was friendly and helpful but we had two issuse. The fan in our room got louder and louder and we were forced to chane rooms, we were compted for the inconveience. There is no wifi service in the rooms and only a weak signal in the lobby. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff was polite and knowledgeble about the area. If we come back to Woodland we would stay there again.

"Under remodel"

Although the room we stayed in was completed and up to a acceptable level the rest of the place was tore up, in several cases flat out dangerous. Large holes in the second floor wall that would spit your young child down to the parking lot, to exposed carpet nail strips that are a great wake up call if you want tore up feet. Additionally if you didn't forcibly pull our door closed it would not latch, twice I came. Back in the evening to find the maids hadn't so my room was unlocked all day. The breakfast was typical pastries, cereal, bagged scrambled eggs and sausage. The best part of this place is the staff they were polite and accommodating although I get the impression that they are not fond of there management or owners. To the management and ownership you should seriously consider the issues of remodeling while open and treat your staff as the professionals they are. Overall I would not recommend this establishment to anyone until it is completed, and according to the staff no one knows when that will be.

Our GPS took us to the exact correct address but we could not see the hotel. It turns out the property is located well back from the road, and the only indicator is a tall sign that was then covered and dark. When we finally pulled up to the lobby area, we could read a faint "Quality Inn & Suites" on the wall. Otherwise, it appeared to be a defunct old motel. The receptionist was truly pleasant and explained that all the reconstruction is to remake the property a BW hotel. All this was understandable and would have been more acceptable if we had some sort of prior notice (we had a reservation for five months) and/or some price concession. Our room was ok, except for the bathroom. In the bathroom there was not a single towel rack, no tp holder, and absolutely no ventilation at all. The beds were comfortable and the AC worked well and was quiet. Breakfast was very, very limited and not good. The setup is in a temporary place, but they still managed to put out juices, coffee, breads, and even hot scrambled eggs. But, everything was mediocre, including places to sit.

This Quality Inn is being transitioned to a Best Western Hotel. Our room was clean, comfortable, excellent bed. Our room faced the freeway(I5) and we expected loads of road noise, we were mistaken, it was quiet. Employees were very np nice and apologetic about the construction going on and the fact that several things didn't work, like the sign at the road. We did have a problem trying to find the hotel in the dark. Breakfast was questionable, but it is a construction site, I believe when finished there will be no problem.

Fair warning - this is a mini-saga of a miserable stay, with just a few nice compliments at the end. This motel is in mid-remodel - a major remodel, not just hanging new paintings, but the lobby and hallways are lined with tub surround parts, tiles, etc. It's a mess. As a public speaker who travels a lot, I look for an indoor pool and hot tub, and early check-in wherever possible. Having called ahead, I arrived at 2 pm after a miserable traffic jam on a hot day, looking for a soak, then a nap before getting ready for my speaking engagement that evening. I have pain/mobility issues about walking very far, so have to choose between Handicapped Room vs. distance. They had put me in Handicapped room, saying on phone it wasn't 'that far' from the pool. It was as far from the pool as it could be in that motel. Oh well. Got in my bathing suit and walked to the pool. Stuck toe in hot tub - it was COLD. Great! Told front desk on my way back to my room, saying I hope they get it fixed by that night when I got back. Went to my room and went to turn on the TV. No remote control in the room. I looked everywhere, then called the front desk. Fifteen minutes later, she arrived with the 'only spare remote', which she spent another 15 minutes unsuccessfully trying to program. Since I was staying 2 nights, she said the only thing she could do was move me across the hall to another room, and she went to get a key programmed for it. Half hour later, she arrives. I'm unhappy and ready to take a nap, not feeling great about my upcoming public appearance after all the hassle. I told her twice I would be napping. She moved me across the hall and left. I got into bed and quickly fell asleep, only to be abruptly awakened by pounding on the floor of the room directly above mine - carpet layers were working on that room right over my head. Spitting out words I can't put in this review, I jumped out of bed and got dressed, and left to go have dinner out and try to get myself together for my appearance. I came back afterward and went straight to bed after being assured that the construction workers didn't work the next two days. A.M. called the front desk to inquire about the hot tub... still a problem. I had an all-day event, so I left. Came back 9 pm to ask about the hot tub. New person at front desk said it should be ok in about an hour. I said never mind - I'd take one in the morning before I left. The punch line to this unfunny story is that, when I called the front desk in the morning, the clerk said, "Well, about the hot tub, this is a FUNNY STORY..." and proceeded to tell me the person who had turned the heaters on had mistakenly turned the SWIMMING POOL to 103 degrees, and the hot tub was at 80. So, I asked, what's the current situation, besides your upcoming horrendous utility bill? She replied, "Well, I've got a pool full of adults soaking, and a hot tub full of kids playing." That was my cue to get dressed and get the heck out of the place. The good news? The beds and pillows are extra comfy. The front desk clerks were as nice as they could be, especially Natalie, but they were working against all odds. And when I requested they ask the manager comp me for the first night that had been so awful, he did at least give me half off the first night's rate.Not generous, but better than nothing. I think it'll be nice once they're done and converted to a Best Western, but right now, forget it.
