"So dirty, beat up, and in disrepair it should use the Best Western franchise!"
I can only recommend you do what we did - run away, fast. We got worried upon arriving on the property and seeing storage rooms with missing doors piled full of trash and construction junk. It was only worse upon arriving at our room. Our bedding had noticeable yellow stains on it in several places (were they even clean?). The countertop had spilled coffee sitting on it like the brewer hadn't ever been moved to clean under it. The tile in the bathroom was coming off the wall. It smelled dirty. There was snot or something else crusty smeared all over the couch. Yuk! It's also not in the best part of town. Right next to a storage facility with 9 ft razor wire fences, and bordered by ran down warehouses on the other side. Clearly a hotel that outlasted its surroundings. We got in late, put the kids in the cleanest bed and I promptly went to the lobby to cancel my remaining days at this Best Western. We found somewhere else clean and taken care of to stay for the rest of the trip.

"nice stay"
was wonderful, very helpful, will stay there again, helped us with good places to eat, breakfeast was very good, nice swimming pool did not have time to use it explained how to use remote, bed was very comfortable
"Nice overnight stop"
The hotel was quite nice - clean with everything in working order. The staff were friendly and gave us suggestions for dinner. As it was a quick one night stopover, we didn't have a chance to use the pool. The breakfast was good and had some protein (eggs) as well as the usual pastries and cereal. A plus was a restaurant within walking distance - a barbeque place which was quite good.
"Don't"
Dirty, smells of cigarettes, refrigator don't work, carpet dirty, room had old wore out furniture. Bedding had burnt holes in it, told attendees an only apologized never replaced.replaced non working refrigator an 2d one didn't work either
"Nice place to stay, great breakfast, helpful staff, comfy beds"
Accommodating, kind and cheerful staff, clean Hotel is close enough for convenience, far enough from highway to eliminate road noise (from backside of building). Yet very close to a grocery store, gas stations, and restaurants of varying price ranges. Comfortable beds & bedding, good A/C, free movies. Had to ask for decaf coffee almost daily. No sugar free syrup available. Towels a bit scratchy, shower -hot, soap -soft. Squealing frig, & broken alarm clock were replaced quickly. Room needs better lighting. Cameras throughout the building for staff's watchful eye, but large monitor screen in view of everyone in lobby. Made me feel like I was spied on everywhere. Didn't like other guests learning my routine. After 1st 3 days of quiet mornings, noisy doors woke me up very early the next 3. My complaint about that seemed to go unaddressed. Great breakfast! Reasonably close to attractions like zoo, art museum, Keeper of the Plains, Old Cowtown and more. Generally rating - Nice for a 2 star hotel.
"GAG"
The grossest hotel I've stayed in. Overwhelming stench in the room as soon as you opened the door… mystery stains in the hallway and rooms.. Rusty bathroom fixtures, fitness room equipment didn't work… tacky plastic flowers in a pot full of cigarette butts to greet you when you walk in. Disgusting hotel. Will NEVER stay here again. I feel like I need antibiotics after sleeping here.

Thank you for your response, your feedback helps us to provide better service to future guests. We would like to apologize for not meeting your expectations. We will be working with housekeeping and maintenance to address these issues.
"Not As Good As It Should Be"
We had a fabulous mini suite with a good sitting area and all the staff were really helpful. The breakfast room was very small with just 5 tables so mostly people had to take their food, what there was of it, back to their rooms. This isn't a throwaway remark – coffee was terrible, on the first day they had no eggs at all, second day no yogurt, third day no yogurt and no sausage gravy. Seriously, who ever is in charge of food & beverages for this place should be encouraged to reconsider their career options! Yet another Best Western where the wi-fi didn't work but this time the guy on reception took our side. He turned his wi-fi on and couldn't get a signal either. So he called the BW IT help desk and they said …. wait for it …. their wi-fi "has an issue with iPhones and Android!" That'll be the vast majority of smartphones then, 90% and counting. Incroyable! Interestingly on the Sunday evening when the hotel was nearly empty, the wi-fi worked perfectly. So we can only assume that the IT team was being ‘economical with the truth'.
"Great Stay in Witchita"
This hotel is easily accessible from the Interstate. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff at Governos Inn and Suites were very pleasant and helpful. Their suggestions about restaurants were appreciated and by following their offerings, I had a great dinner!
"Stay review"
The woman at the front desk was extremely nice and friendly. Makes you fell very welcome after a long day of driving. Room very cleaned nice. Breakfast very good with plenty of food. We would definitely stay there again.
"Very good"
This hotel was immaculate. They have a nice breakfast with the best tasting coffee! I would highly recommend this hotel. We got the king suite for $97 and had 4 people. The staff is also really really nice.
"It wasn't as expected"
We were looking for an alternative place to stay on our return trip home. We saw the ratings and reviews from other who have stayed here, which were good. Our experience of check-in screw-ups, uncleanliness, things that didn't work or were simply missing, made us wonder if we either arrived at the wrong place or if the property had been received bought by new owners. Will we stay her again? Not likely.
Naseer Ahmed, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you, Paul, for taking the time to comment on your recent stay with us. We strive to make every guest's experience a pleasant one and would like to apologize for not meeting your expectations. I would also like to apologize for my initial response. We would have liked to have had the opportunity to address your concerns while you were here, rest assured we have fixed all initial concerns. We would like the opportunity to serve you again in the future.
"One of the Worst Experiences"
There was no cleaning of my room, not making of my bed. Then I asked why they didn't clean it & I was told I had to request it. Then I did but still my room was not being cleaned. I requested another room, but refused. Then one evening when I came back around 8pm,I found pillows everywhere in the room( 2 on the sofa,2 on the bed,... Trash everywhere & I showed the picture & they changed my room. Lastly on 8/18/22, Corena(person in charge at the time & she always has a bad attitude) kinda forced me to leave the hotel within 5 minutes while I was rushing to go to work. She said either I have to take my stuff out or they will throw it away. I had to be late from work to remove my stuff & decided to not come back.
"Amazing Staff"
We came and stayed a night for a getaway. When I arrived the lady at the desk Shelly I think is her name was so welcoming and sweet. She got us checked in and went to our room. We got in our room and everything was clean! Check out was very simple too. Will be staying here again!
Naseer Ahmed, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a comment. We appreciate your feedback, and look forward to seeing you again.
"Cold Showers and Wonky Remotes"
The shower in our room had plenty of water, it was just barely warm. The tub creaked and moaned loudly enough to be heard in the room, over the TV. The bed was ok, but not as comfortable as other Best Westerns. The remote was nearly impossible. Finally gave up the first night and pulled out.the tablets. Overall, disappointed. Very much so.
Naseer Ahmed, Owner at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
We apologize on behalf of our staff for all the inconvenience you had to go through, Ownership has been changed since March 2022. We have taken care of most of the issues. We hope to see you next time and you will see the difference. Thank you very much for your review that helps us to address the guest concerns. Naseer
"Great stay!"
Our family stayed here for 3 night and 4 days. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had an issue with our refrigerator and within 5 minutes had it switched out for a better working one. Room was clean and breakfast was filled with many options: mini bagels, waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, coffee, pastry, muffins, yogurt; overall a great time!
"Night desk guy needs a cape."
We checked in late and I wanted to watch tv but it didnt change channels. I didnt report it as I really needed to get up early. My parents who were in another room on another floor had problems when my Dad fell and my mother couldn't get him up. The night desk guy helped them and he needs MAJOR kudos, a cape and a medal. Thank you Front Desk Guy YOU ROCK!!!!
"Serving at Messiah Lutheran"
Upon arrival, Shelley at the desk upgraded our room to a suite. She also arranged that we would receive the gift card offer at future Best Western stays, She checked out the suite before we unpacked and set the air temperature in the hot weather. Room was great. Nearby evening dining had choices and the breakfast buffet was tasty.
"Not new but, clean and very well maintained"
I have traveled for work over 40 years from coast to coast, border to border. I require clean, odor free, quiet, good room temperature control, good water pressure which DOESN'T suddenly turn ice cold nor scalding hot, streaming capible wifi, a desk with a comfortable office chair and a pool. All of my expectations were exceeded here at Governors In and Suites.
"Weekend stay"
The room was not very clean, the shower drained very slow, but the staff was nice, pool was great, and it was in the right spot for the reason we were in town. Knowing what I know now I would have paid a bit more for a cleaner room.
Raj Patel, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Our sincere apologies about your inconvenience. The drain issue has since been fixed. I again apologize about your experience. Had we known during your stay, we could have given you a different room and made it right.
"Wonderful property in nice location"
We came to visit family Fourth of July weekend to South Wichita. I was pleasantly surprised because I've never stayed at a Best Western but they exceeded All my expectations and then some for a hotel stay. I would describe her stay as delightful and pleasant with a well kept up and beautiful pool and happy staff that are willing to go the extra mile to help you.
"Soo sorry Shelley"
I want to start by saying my stay was a fabulous experience from the start thanks to their front desk staff Shelley. She really goes above and beyond for guests and I cannot thank you enough for making it an easy process especially since I was traveling alone with my daughter. However with that said it saddens me to hear the $20 tip I left in the room (309) for her with a note thanking her for a wonderful stay was not received. For whom ever took it upon themselves to take what was not theirs especially when it means stealing from such a sweet special person should truly be ashamed of themselves and I can only hope the owners/ managers see this and corrective action is taken! Still all in all I will book all future stays with this hotel for the exceptional treatment received by Shelley. Thank you!
"So wonderful"
I was traveling with my aunt the weekend of June 11, just a nice quiet weekend trip. We were immediately worried when we pulled into what appeared to be a very busy hotel with teenaged kids everywhere. I was concerned as my aunt is elderly and does not handle them well at her age. The lady at the front desk was incredible! She kept the hotel relatively quiet, and treated every one as though they were the only guests in the place. She was running towels etc to rooms, maintaining the lobby, fixing. TVs ( ours would not change channels, she came right up and in less than a minute it was fixed ) and never stopped smiling. I think her name was Sherry. Or Shelly. I can't remember, but I would like to say thank you for a great stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Wichita area.
"Staff is amazing"
Beds are a little outdated, the room we stayed in had an older smell to it but you got used to it quickly. The staff at check in and check out were great. They were excited to have you stay and wanted to meet your needs.
"Great service, nice hotel"
The front desk clerk in the evenings is a sweet lady. We got the Jacuzzi suite! Jacuzzi in your room, don't expect privacy, but it's a great time. Breakfast had a lot of options, and there's a pool when it's warmer
"Needs to be updated"
This location was not up to typical Best Western standards. Furniture was old and heavily stained. In dire need of an update. Staff however was helpful and courteous. No complaints about service, just the room condition.
Raj Patel, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Our apologies about your recent stay. We pride ourselves in preparing the cleanest rooms for our guests, especially at a time like this. We have noted down the issue and have already initiated cleaning today. Thank You
"Disappointing"
We have been under "Covid" conditions for over a year, plenty of time to make necessary adjustments. I travel frequently, and stay with a number of different brands. Early on when we first learned about Covid, I understood why some services were eliminated/limited. Everyone needed time to determine what steps they needed to take. This week alone, I have seen both ends of the spectrum. Earlier in the week I stayed at an IHG property. All services, including fitness room, business center, and full hot breakfast, were available with the proper safeguards put in place. At the other end of the spectrum, This Best Western chooses to have it's fitness & business centers closed, with a bag containing a microwaveable breakfast sandwich, small muffin and a piece of fruit. There were other minor issues as well, which I advised the front desk staff of. Conversely, I will be heading to Ft Smith, Ar, where I will be staying at the Best Western Aspen, that is offering all amenities. Being into the pandemic for over a year, I see what appears to be a shift to take the easy way out. I'm not so naive that this could also be a result of there liability provider, but there are always work arounds.
Raj Patel, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Rick, I am sorry you did not like the covid protocols we had in place. We are working at easing them as time goes on. Recently the fitness room has opened up and so has the business center. We also hope to improve breakfast from grab and go to full hot breakfast in the very near future. Thanks, Rajiv
"Friendly staff"
Staff was very friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. Centrally located and within walking distance to fast food. Room did have some carpet that needed glued down. Room was clean and comfortable.
"Birthday getaway"
This has been one of the best serviced hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay in! The front desk worker Shelley was absolutely amazing! She helped me and my girls get a very nice room and helped me so much on everything right down to dinner for my girls!! She is by FAR the best front desk workers I have ever dealt with! She deserves a 10/10 review and the hotel does as well its very nice, clean, quite serene atmosphere! This will be the hotel I stay at for every single stay from here on out! AMAIZING PLACE TO STAY SHORT OR LONG TERM!!!!
"Almost like home."
We stayed for 5 days with our dogs because we had very cold weather and had problems with pipes freezing in our home nearby. We easily checked in early, enjoyed the free HBO, had grassy areas for our dogs, and the staff were helpful. Shelley was especially helpful in making sure we were comfortable with and extra blanket. A wide variety of fast food and sit down dining was very close by without all of the big city traffic headaches.
"Great place"
This is our 3rd stay at Best Western Governors Inn and Suites in the last 2 years. We have family extremely close by. Its always clean, staff is hospitable, and we never have any complaints. It is usually very quiet, and this last time we never really heard or saw any other guests, but they were there. Breakfast is different right now, as to be expected. But my 2year old loved the sack breakfast he recieved. We will be back next time we are in Wichita.
"Gppd place to stay - Clean room and Quick service."
This was a pleasant stay. Room was clean. Bed very comfortable. It was nice to have a table with 2 chairs. Only things that weren't great was the lack of a fan in the bathroom and the lighting could be improved
"October Stay"
I don't feel like it is a good business practice to change the price of the room after booking on the app. Clerk was dismissive and somewhat disagreeable when I noticed and mentioned the price had changed. The check out clerk confirmed my rate had been changed and tried to adjust but couldn't.
"AC not available +Poor CIVID preparations"
I selected this hotel based on reviews and location. On arrival, the AC in the room was not on despite 100 degree temps and western exposure of the room. The desk clerk was marginal on check in. No mask and did not proffer any information on breakfast, parking or pool procedures. She did get me a couple of towels when requested. She was up on our floor when I opened the door after bringing up luggage. I asked about the AC. She had no idea why this was the policy. I asked about additional rooms for our party. She did not know what rooms they would be assigned so not turning on the AC. I had to call to the day before to get an email confirmation of our reservation. The pool was filthy, very murky water. No restrictions on elevator use. Other hotels has limited use to family units. One bottle of hand sanitizer at front desk, none on individual floors or by elevators. I asked about the CA policy when leaving (no advance check out available) and that clerk confirmed other complaints. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
Raj Patel, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hello, We would be more than happy to turn you AC on in your room during your next stay, just give us a heads up! I believe the clerk did turn the A/C on for the other rooms in the party that hadnt arrived. Unfortunatey the pool has been closed for the season. On behalf of our team I apologize for not exceeding your expectations.
"Nice quiet hotel"
This hotel is located off of the toll road I35, and is next to several fast food restaurants. The room I stayed in was clean and the bed was comfortable. A few premium channels are offered, and internet is decent. The breakfast nook was closed and the pool was also due to covid19. The front desk staff are cordial and professional, my check in was quick. Overall I had a pleasant experience and reccomend this hotel if you are traveling through Wichita, KS.
"Great motel"
I was very impressed with this motel. Large, clean, quiet room. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Shelley made everyone feel at home and made sure all their needs were addressed. Lisa did a good job with the breakfast. The wifi was very good in the room.
"Happy to have chosen Best Western"
The staff was very attentive. Any problems, or questions were addressed immediately. Every effort was made to make our stay comfortable. I appreciate the front desk clerks, always a polite greeting, and a smile. A special thank you to the front desk clerk Shelly who went above and beyond for us, thank you. Housekeeping was very cordial, and attentive as well, thank you to them. Thank you to the owner for a speedy repair of the elevator that went out briefly during one of our stays, and thank you for allowing Shelly to meet our needs, to ensuring our comfortable stay at that time, and throughout are recent frequent stays.
"First time. So gentle. :)"
Loved the stay. It was better then most hotels at an awesome rate with the jacuzzi room. I actually had not one problem. At all!. All was great. Nice. Clean. Respectful. If I needed anything. They jumped!. Will be back. Always.
"Awesome stay!"
I walked in to make a reservation. The young lady working at the desk was extremely helpful, nice, and went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. Our room was clean and super comfy. Definitely will stay there again!!
"Good Value and a Good Stay"
We were pleased with our two nights in this Best Western Hotel. It was conveniently located in the south part of Wichita, very accessible to the Kansas Turnpike, and close to many shopping opportunities. The room was clean and attractive. We wished it would have had comfortable chairs to sit it since we like to sit and read or watch TV at night. And, the light was rather dim. However, we were pleased with our room, and we will definitely consider returning.
"Pleasant find on a non-planned trip"
I used a highway route to avoid holiday weekend traffic driving from Mississippi to Colorado to visit family. I arrived at the Best Western at my determined end of day drive and was pleased to find it was the usual clean, professional, and comfortable environment that I had hoped to find that evening. Staff were professional, but also personable and helpful.
"Would choose again"
Have always gone with choice hotels, will choose best western from here on out, much better rewards program with less stiupulations, super great staff, clean nice hotle great breakfast a+ all the way, ours was pet friendly HighlyRecommend
"Very Friendly!"
We were welcomed into the hotel as the storm started and they did all they could to make us feel safe and comfortable! We checked in early do to the storm. They helped us find a place for dinner close by since the storm was continuing on for a few hours!
"great stay"
Very clean, accommodating, great for the price. We are not fussy about "look" of room. We sleep there and spend a couple hours relaxing there. The room appeared freshly painted and was very clean. Breakfast buffet was simple but included in price. Great to not have to buy separate breakfast!
"Business Trip"
This hotel always has nice clean rooms. The staff is always good to work with. The other amenities I can't really speak to as I travel for business and I'm really just there to sleep. Great place to stay.
"Stuck here for 4 weeks and hope to never return"
Currently staying at hotel, and not first visit, but for work they tend to be the only hotel who can book last minute for groups. Every stay has involved some sort of frustrations with room, currently in room that has toilet that doesn't flush so you have to fill trash can with water to pour into toilet and AC leaks so leaves floor and wall by window damp causing mold issues. The front desk says they are too busy to move to different room, although fairly convinced EVERY room has issues. If you are staying a night its tolerable and you may not notice all the crap this place has going on, but stay long enough and you will find a never ending list of problems. And if you do stay check your breakfast for mold before biting in. Or book at hotel that has management that cares about guests.
"Clean and good linens"
The check in process was very easy. The breakfast area was small, but clean and well stocked. Do not take a room close to the front desk and breakfast area. There are a lot of bells dinging....microwave or waffles? And doors opening and closing. This is a very nice hotel and completely handicap accessible. Easy on and off the freeway. There are many restaurants within walking distance.
"Surprise Birthday Trip"
I have always enjoyed my stay at any Best Western. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and when I have breakfast the food is always good. I have never had a problem with check in or check out. This trip was a surprise for my boyfriend and required a rather late check in. The ladies were helpful and reassuring.
"Great overnight place!"
This is a great property, everything is clean. Great face value of the property. Fabulous mini gym! They brought extra towels within 10 minutes. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was awesome! Suasage gravy, links, omelets, waffles.... yum!!!
"Nice motel and very easy to find since it is right off the freeway."
Nice motel and very easy to find since it is right off the freeway. It also has a fast food restaurant right in the same parking lot almost. Wish the swimming pool was indoors and it had a hot tub but everything else was nice. Very friendly check-in clerk who was extremely helpful.
"Clean hotel but breakfast was disappointing"
Stayed one night as I was passing through the area. Desk clerk was professional but did not acknowledge BW reward membership but was helpful in getting my two rooms rearranged to be close to each other. Room was clean and everything worked well. Bed was comfortable but had the small pillows that are not my personal preference. Breakfast room did not have a microwave so no way to heat up food items. Waffle machine worked well, but selection of other other foods was limited. I would rate breakfast as poor. Very nice desk clerk that checked me out. I would not stay there again but if you are looking for a basic clean hotel, this is your place.
"Excellent"
Very pleasant front desk. Quick check in and a quality room. They allowed us an early check in with no trouble. We always stay at best western as our first choice. Good value and easy access from the highway.
"Decent Large Rooms"
My family was staying in town for a volleyball tournament. Our team booked a block of 9 rooms each with two queens. When we arrived we all received a King with a fold out full sized couch. I went down to talk to the person at the desk. She tried to convince me that I was confused. I explained to her that my twin 5'9” daughters would not get a good nights sleep on a full size pull out couch and I would never deliberately do that to them, I would just find a different hotel. She confirmed that there were no rooms left so we were stuck. Before all this - I had to call 3 times to book my room. The man answering the phone after 3pm could not find our reservations. (Maybe because he was looking for two queen beds?). When I called at 9am, the lady booked my room in seconds. Several members of our team had the same situation. Our room was comfortable, but my allergies told me that pets had been there. Sure enough after sitting on couch I had little white hairs on my pants. Again this is something I would have checked had I booked the hotel, but a different mom on the team made the choice. So I guess it is pet friendly for those looking for that. My red, scratchy eyes did not appreciate the convenience for pet lovers. Breakfast was warm and filling with several choices. The room was clean and constantly being serviced by an attendant. When we left, I told the front desk clerk that we were not only given the 2 queens promised, but that they charged us more for the king room. He quickly made it right by refunding the $18 difference. I appreciate that! Other than the First Lady trying to convince me that I was wrong, the staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was adequate. Although I wouldn't stay there again, I would say that the price was half what I usually pay per night for hotel, so savings was a perk!
"Good stopover"
We spent New Year's Eve here on the way home from the holidays. The front desk clerk was very friendly and the breakfast was good. There was just enough room for a family of four with two teens in our two queen room. The beds were comfortable and it was nice and quiet (except for fireworks at midnight... ) It is a good choice.
Raj P, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hello & thank you so much for your good review! :) Happy 2019!
"Front desk Claudia was very friendly and helpful"
Nothing out of the ordinary in this hotel except the perfumie smell which I believe was coming from the heater. I wonder what smell they were trying to coverup. The toilet was an older low-seater. Breakfast was the normal B.W. Food. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Dogs are welcome.
Raj P, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hi Barbara, Thanks for your review & apologies for the smell you dealt with. Glad you enjoyed the breakfast and liked our facility! Best Regards
"Horrible Smell"
The whole thrid floor smelled like a sewage pipe broke. The management did nothing to fix it and was like that the whole week i stayed. Management claims they fixed it but they did nothing. The staff however was very friendly.
Raj P, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hello, Sorry about the inconvenience you had. There is no longer any smell coming from the 3rd floor. Best Regards,
"Auctioneer"
Great rates at a very clean hotel. The staff is very friendly and really wants you to enjoy your stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Lots of places nearby for your dining pleasure and rasy access to crossroads interstates 135 and I35.
Raj P, Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Mr. Keller, We here at the hotel appreciate you taking the time and leaving us a good survey. Reviews like this make our staff feel special! Take care & see you next time!
"Very hospitable!"
Staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Recently remodeled and brand new mattresses. Best nights of sleep I've ever had in a hotel. Good breakfast. Washer and dryer are available and there are good restaurants nearby!
Raj P, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
We are so glad that you and the team enjoyed your stay here. Hope everyone had a safe trip back!
"Average Hotel"
We found that this particular hotel seems to have "gone down hill" since the last time we stayed here in 2012. Fridge in room made noise all night long; the fridge had no controls inside to make fridge COLD for our food & drinks - it was only a mild cool temp.; Beds were "so-so"; Nite light in bathroom flickers on with bathroom door open, but goes Dark when bathroom door is closed (at night); MOLD around bathroom tub & tiles; TV remote was slow to change channels; Breakfast was o.k.- not great. Kim was good front desk lady; A/C was good; Work Station & Internet was good. Both nights we stayed here was nice & quite!
"They need to do better"
Room was dirty. Ac was slow. Breakfast was terrible coffee was lighter than tea. And the pet policy is confusing. There's nothing more to say - forced to add 200 characters. Not going to visit this best western again.
Raj P, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Apologies about the inconvenience you had & misunderstanding with our pet policy. Our hotels pet policy is hat we only allow small dogs. We take pride in cleaning our rooms and preparing breakfast for our guests I have notified staff and will work even harder to make sure this does not happen again! Best Regards, Rajiv
"good stay for a night off"
I highly recommend staff is great and accommodating and I will definitely be back. good view, fast internet, and a highly enjoyable stay all together. the food options within a block are also great I highly recommend the Mexican restaurant behind the K.F.C.
"A lot of brick and a lot of spacious room"
This was a very interesting hotel. It looks like it was built for some sort of a grand place originally. I don't know the history of it, but a lot of brick work and interesting roof lines. The room we stayed in was great. I don't know if all the rooms are huge, but 301 was about twice as big as a normal hotel room. The breakfast and staff was excellent. We would stay again.
"Good Trip"
Very good trip made better by your helpful staff when booking by phone. Rez was friendly and explained very well when we asked questions. Room was comfortable Breakfast we very well presented and tasted good.
"Good night sleep"
We came in in the middle of the night super tired from our trip. The service was very fast and efficient. The place was clean and spacious. One of the best things was that it was quiet and we had a restful sleep. Breakfast was warm and varied.
"Excellent "
This guys are the best. Room is too good & staff people are friendly. It is all worth for the money that i paid for. Breakfast is ok. All the stores like dillons, IHOP are closer to the roomLooking forward to come again.
"Perfect for extended business trip"
I recently spent five weeks at this hotel while in Wichita on business. The staff is amenable and willing to go the extra mile, the facilities are clean, blessedly quiet, with all the usual amenities, and easy to locate. The hotel sits at the main nexus of interstates in Wichita, so you can be anywhere in town from here in minutes. Pricing is quite reasonable. A completely positive stay!
"Good hotel"
Nice hotel. Clean , have a hot breakfast, internet staff very nice. Convenient to food, and everything else. The price was reasonable compared to other hotels. Fast check in and check out. I would recommend this hotel
Raj P, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you so much for your positive words about our hotel. We are glad that you had an enjoyed your experience with us! Hog Wild BBQ is a customer favorite and is just walking distance from our hotel. Warm Regards!
"kid friendly"
This is a very good kid friendly place we had our 3 year old. They were on top of things and where very helpful. If we had a question they answered it and if they did not have the answer they called the boss and asked.
Raj P, Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hi Steven, We love having kids stay at the property and I'm happy you approve us as a kid friendly place. If you ever happen to be driving by during the summer, I'm sure the little one would appreciate our pool! Best Regards, Raj
"Overall Great Experience"
Wife and I stayed here for NYE. Check in was great and room was on the first floor. We made use of in room Jacuzzi and it worked fine even with a missing knob. Breakfast the next morning was fine although a 8:30am some items were missing. Mainly eggs and yogurt. Overall the hotel was clean and quit and I would recommend this to anyone that needs a comfortable place to stay.
Raj P, Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hello, Thank you for your good review of our hotel. I have made my breakfast attendant and maintenance staff aware of your comment, and we have already taken steps to improve the next time you stay with us. We do have larger rooms than most other properties, so I am glad you found it to be comfortable! Happy New Year, Raj
"Party Weekend"
Really appreciate the way some of the front desk staff gave us the opportunity for late checkout. These days we slways got to bed around 2 or 3 in the morning. Pretty close to family. Loved that we were on first floor and close to the door so we can go out quick
Angie T, Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hi Claudia, Glad to hear y'all had an enjoyable stay at our property! Late check out can come in real clutch for those late nights out! haha Happy New year! Warm Regards, Raj
"One night stay"
Not bad for a quick layover. Not the best breakfast. I did eat later and the food was all dried out unfortunately. Lots of nearby restaurants though. Good BBQ joint within walking distance that was very good. Hog Wild BBQ.
"Nice place"
The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very pleasant. Although the hotel was not one with exterior entrance doors, the staff was good at giving us a choice room. If we are in the area again at the right time of day, we would stay here again.
"Nice place to stay."
We stayed 2 nights while in Wichita on a combined business-leisure trip. The hotel was in a great location for us and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and we were able to relax and enjoy our visit.
"Zero Hospitality"
Good luck if you're a CLC member getting any Hospitality at all they will treat you like a secondary citizen. You will no longer receive reward points as well staying their either. The rooms are under par like walking into a 90's hotel room and sleeping on a bed that feels like another box spring
"Good room for a night, poor breakfast to start the day"
I had a double queen room. The bed was firm, which I liked. The room was good sized. There was room for a nice table that was larger than usual for hotel rooms along with 2 chairs. Clean. Even though the room overlooked I-35, it was quiet although it probably helped that it was Sunday morning rather than a weekday. The breakfast area was a medium size room with 1 entrance. It was completely overwhelmed by the 15-20 people trying to use it. The food itself was cereals, carbs, and fruit; no eggs or meat of any kind. The lobby is more of a wide hallway than a lobby. The room earns it an Very Good rating. Otherwise it would be average.
"Excellent value"
Staff was friendly and prompt upon check-in. Room was very clean and tidy. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was an added bonus. Check out was a breeze. Thank you to the staff. Will be staying at Best Western whenever they are an option.
"Clean and easy"
Very nice clean hotel. Breakfast was great and so were the employees I came across, would stay again for sure! Coming from MN heading to Texas loves the easy access to the hotel from the freeway! Restaurants close for convenience too.
"Great night"
The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. My bed was soft and comfy but my friend that slept in the other bed said that her bed was too hard. I didn't hear anyone else in any other room or the hallway make any noise.
"Excellent hotel but breakfast not on par"
The hotel is clean, the staff is very polite, and the room was very spacious. The bed could have been a little softer but it was fine for a one night sleep. Breakfast was not good. The hot items were overcooked and pretty much not edible in my eyes. We checked out and grabbed breakfast to go elsewhere.
"Road Trip"
After driving for over 800 miles, stopped at the Best Western in Wichita Kansas. Hotel was very clean, and the room was spotless. I Slept like a baby. Shower had very good water pressure, and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was very good , and the coffee was hot and strong.
"Good quality hotel for value price"
Quite high quality for the reasonable price, except for the wifi internet. Internet was bad in evening but recovered to workable the next day. Otherwise, good location for anything in south Wichita. Our night was quiet and comfortable. Easy access to primary crossroad highways.
"Quick Stay"
We needed a place to stay on the fly because our stop was unplanned. We called two hours before we arrived and reserving was easy, able to accomidate our dog and a warm breakfast the next morning. Perfect for our needs of just a bed and shower before hitting the road the next morning!
"Weekend stay"
In general had a very nice stay. No noise from other rooms.Bed was comfortable and I woke up well rested. i do not eat much for breakfast so what was available was good and adequate. Coffee was good but to my taste a little weak.
"Nice room Fantastic customer service"
After driving 15 hours it was so wonderful to be greeted by such a polite and friendly night clerk .It was very late when we checked in he offered our kids complementary muffins as a late night snack ,the kids were thrilled . Our room was very clean and comfortable and we got a great night rest . Breakfast was awesome and our family really enjoyed our stay at this hotel .
"Great hotel for the price"
The hotel was nice for the night we stayed. Breakfast was good and the service was great from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone to stay at.
"Just needed a place to stay. This fit the bill."
Good solid hotel. Just needed a place to stop and sleep. Great price and great quick stay. Would stop here again. Breakfast was a little weaker than we would have hoped. Internet was slow, but what I've come to expect.
"Horrid bed"
First time in a Best Western (8 in last 6wks, 6 States) where bed SUCKED! It was a brick. Pillows went flat. Male manager working in morning was so loud on his phone in lobby I heard him through the door, several rooms down the hall.
"Great place to stay!!"
This hotel was just on the outskirts of an if-y neighborhood, but it was great!! The parking lot was well lit, there were plenty of food options nearby, & it's right off the highway. Claudia checked us in and she was so kind and helpful. Our room was great and clean. The breakfast was very good and one of the best we've had. Our kids enjoyed being able to pour their waffle batter and make it themselves. There were many breakfast options to choose from. We plan on making several trips to Wichita in the future and will continue to stay at this hotel. This Best Western was located further away from our destination than another Best Western, but it had better reviews and better prices. It held up to those reviews and I definitely recommend it.
"great service"
staff is always friendly/helpful they cater to the customer.rooms are always clean, hotel location is perfect for dinner options in the area.breakfast options are ample ,no need to go out for breakfast.will stay at this hotel when in wichita,ks.
"Super friendly staff and Great pool area"
Their staff went above and beyond to accommodate our big baseball group! Pool area was big and open. Rooms were clean and modern. Beds were comfy. Great value for the great service and clean rooms. Will stay again.
"Great Sleep, Great People"
BW was awesome! The staff were very helpful, very polite and just on the ball. The pictures online are true to the rooms offered. I stayed in a king suite which had all the amenities you would expect. The room was quiet at night. It was spacious and comfortable. It had a nice big TV too! The bathroom was clean and very nice. My room was cleaned daily, bed was made, bathroom tidied and fresh towels brought in. Breakfast was amazing. They had all of your typical hotel breakfast items, but a different main item each day. Omeletes, Biscuits and Gravy, sausage, bacon! MMM. The area around the hotel was good too. There were tons of fast food options, a couple of dine-in options, as well as a dollar store and a grocery store for last minute items. I felt very safe and comfortable here. I would stay here again should I be in the area.
"Terrible staff"
Hotel room nice, but rude staff. Will not return because of the terrible customer service. Walked in little after 1pm because received text saying our room ready. Staff member rudely said, "check in not until 3pm". Three housekeeping staff just standing around & check in staff acted like I was bothering them by checking in,
"Our Stay"
We have stayed here at last 6 times. Convenient to where we need to be. Need better pillows. Need breakfast meats. Otherwise nice room. Need microwave in breakfast area. Right off of hwy 81 & 235. Very quite. Recently upgraded. Usual breakfast items, no fresh fruit.
"Rude"
The elderly lady at front desk was rude and lied to me. I went to leave to go to atm so i could leave housekeeping a tip, this was 3 hours before check out and locked myself out of my room. So went and asked for a new key and she said she couldn't give me a new key since check out was in just a few hours. I know that is not true because I was a manager at a Best Western. So she made herself a new key and said she could let me in my room. She followed me up to my room and let me in and then when I went to try and use my key it was deactivated because she had made her a new key not a duplicate. So I couldn't even leave to go to atm. I had to wait in my room till checkout. Then I went to take stuff to vehicle and told her I would be right back in because my friend was still gathering his things and she goes straight up to my room and barges right in on him without any warning. I was extremely upset cause he wasn't expecting it and then she was rude to him. I didn't get an apology or anything and then she said they wouldn't be renting to me any longer and i was put on the do not rent too list.

"Needs an upgrade"
The staff was nice. The room was dirty (trash on the floor, only two towels total in the room). Breakfast waffle machine was broken. Not up to usual Best Western standards. Access from highway was very good. many restaurants close by. Would not stay again.

"Handicapped room on second floor not a good idea"
Had a handicapped room on the second floor, which I wondered about since you are not supposed to use the elevator in case of a fire. How would someone in a wheelchair get out safely? The shower sprayer did not have a place to hang it so you could wash your hair or body. If you could not use one of your arms to shower seems it would be very annoying. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

"Clean and Friendly"
Friendly staff at desk especially Claudia. Quiet and well kept. Breakfast was usual buffet fair. Didnt care for salsa in the eggs myself. We would stay here again. Good bed and lots of pillows. Clean bathroom.
"Nice hotel"
We just need a place to sleep for a few hours - this is a nice hotel. Friendly staff, quick check-in. The rooms are nice sized, clean and very comfortable. We slept great in comfortable beds with choice of pillows. We would stay here again.
"Good Place to stay"
The room was large. Inputs for electronic devices were limited. Lighting wasn't great. Pet friendly. We have a service animal. The covered entry had standing water making it difficult to unload and get into the place. It had rained heavily, but the design of the driveway is such that water does not run off property making entrance difficult during rain. Even dangerous. There was probably a good 2-inches of standing water where one would unload.
"Great place & great staff!!"
Very nice and caring staff. The room was excellent. I was upgraded to a king suite. The only con I had was that I looked up the price online and then called. I was told that the cheapest rooms they had was for $84.00 and that was a queen and a king would be $10 more. So I reserved via the internet and got King for $84.00.
"Need better pillows"
Only real complaint is small, cheap lumpy pillows. Hotel in decent location with several restaurants mostly fast food near by. Staff very pleasant. Clean rooms. Had a suite which was ok, no jacuzzis or anything other than large room with extra seating and microwave and refrigerator.
"Feels like an old hotel"
Aesthetically displeasing. Adequate only. $20 pet fee and high priced for what you get. Difficult access from the turnpike. They said the property was ten years old and had been renovated recently but I don't believe it. I travel with a dog and paid 25% less at a La Quinta the next night.
Angie T, General Manager at Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Hi Terri, I apologize for your inconvenience in getting to the property from the turnpike. Our property was fully renovated in the summer of 2015. Our lobby, breakfast room, in room carpet, bathroom, paint and bathrooms are all new. We strive to provide our guests with outstanding service and super clean rooms. I apologize you did not walk out of our hotel satisfied and hope you would give us a second chance on your next visit to Wichita. Warm Regards
"Good Accomodations at an Affordable Rate!"
Have used this hotel a couple times this year already...good rates for a nice hotel, quiet and clean lodging with a good buffet breakfast included....and a fantastic location close to the highway and the turnpike as well as lots of restaurants and shopping!
"Business"
Very busy area for location of hotel, but city has a smelll from water plant and it can smell awful but other than that staff was great upon arrival, Hotel was clean, room was clean bed comfortable.. breakfast was okay not the best
"Great, Affordable and Comfy"
Really enjoyed this hotel. Great location, close to several stores and eating places, with lots of variety. Rooms were clean and spacious. Internet service was great......with no interruptions. Overall just a great place to stay with family or by yourself. Breakfast was a disappointment as they had the same item both days....not much variety.

Thank you for your kind words about our hotel. We appreciate your patronage and we look forward to your visit to Wichita. Happy Travels!
"Nice place"
Looking for a place to stay in Wichita. Front desk personnel very nice & helpful. Easy check in. Got a 1st floor room which I requested. Plenty of nice thick towels & the shower was great. The bed was a little too firm for my taste. Quiet & got good nights sleep. Free breakfast, nothing outstanding, but it was free. Glad I stayed there.
"I Am Continually Amazed!"
I have stayed at hotels for nearly twice a week for the last 18 years. For the last 10 I have stayed here for twice a week. If there is a problem, they go out of their way to try to make things right. The breakfast gets more and more amazing. The staff has gotten better and better with each stay. If you could possibly stay anywhere else, I would rethink that thought.
Angie T, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
WOW! Thank you for the wonderful comments. We appreciate your patronage and we will continue to do our best to provide you and all of our guests great customer service along with a clean and comfortable hotel stay. We look forward to your next visit to Wichita.
"Very Nice Hotel - Close Access to I-35"
We were very pleased with this hotel. Is very nice - has a wonderfully friendly staff, especially front desk agent Claudia. Very clean. Has free breakfast. Very close access to I-35 - easy on/off from turnpike. Air conditioner worked great. Had a microwave and refrigerator in room. Good sized room and we didn't get a suite. We will definitely stay there again.

"Bathroom floor and fixtures"
Bath tile was loose had to keep a towel on the floor, fixture handles were also loose. Room was clean and neat otherwise. Breakfast was good. Checkout was quick. Location was good for our trip. I was told that owners were aware on the problem and were planning repairs.

"Best Western Governors Inn, Wichita, KS"
Nice hotel, friendly staff. The internet speed in the evenings is horrible so don't stay here for business if you plan on working at night. Coffee maker was still dirty from last use. A soda had been spilled on an end table and had not been wiped up. Just minor details but overall experience was good.

"Nothing fancy"
This Best Western is an average motel. Nothing fancy. When we travel our concern is to get a good night's sleep and we did at this Best Western. Clean, quiet and non-smoking is what we look for and we found it here.
Angie T, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
We are happy that we were able to provide you with a good night's sleep. With our recent renovation we are proud of our updated hotel that offers all non-smoking rooms, along with all of the other amenities that you are accustom to receiving when staying at a Best Western hotel.
"Best Western Wichita KS"
This hotel is not up to the standards of the newer Best Western hotels which mostly have upgraded and have become high quality. Better to stay at a La Quinta or Comfort inn. The price was also very high for the quality, but is the average price for all hotels in 2016.
Angie T, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. At the Best Western Governors Inn & Suites we strive every day to provide a superior product along with excellent customer service. I was surprised to hear that you feel we are not up to standards considering we recently completed a renovation of the entire hotel, inside and outside and we are very proud of it. So I am not sure exactly what you are referring to but would your suggestions so we know what we need to be doing in order to satisfy your expectations. In regards to our rates we feel we are very competitive for the Wichita area especially since our renovation. Because we value your business, we would like for you to consider staying with us in the future and I personally will make it right with you. I would like to offer you a corporate rate if you travel to Wichita on a regular basis.
"Good Stay"
My family and I have stayed at this particular location on several occasions over the past couple years and have always been satisfied, but this time, while everything was clean and breakfast was great, we were disappointed in two details: My family and I were disappointed that we could not access the wifi in our room during our stay. I inquired about it with the front desk staff, but they stated, "No one else has complained." I explained that it had worked properly when we'd stayed here before and my phone, laptop and ipad were connected to Governor's B.W. wifi, but there was no service. I even tried to access it in the lobby and on the hotel's computer in the hallway - with no luck. (It had worked on the hallway computer at check-in as I accessed it for my email to get the B.W. rewards printed.) My daughter asked for an extra blanket, but was told there weren't any and was given two bed sheets instead. Seemed strange and still wasn't blanket "thickness". I noticed there was not a bedspread or comforter on the beds in our room - it was a white bed sheet on top of a thin blanket and another bed sheet. There was a small decorative cloth across the foot of the bed. I thought it strange there was not a bedspread as (again) the room we'd stayed in previously had them on the beds! Like I stated, we've stayed here several times and have always been pleased. Perhaps it was just an "off" day. We will stay here again, and keep our fingers crossed that wifi is up and blankets are available if needed.
Angie T, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
I am so sorry we did not meet up to your expectations while staying at our hotel. In regards to the WiFi we have gone over the procedure with the Front Desk for when it happens in the future. We have also met with our front desk staff and reviewed procedures on distributing blankets, etc. We have since checked the room you stayed in and made sure we reviewed with the housekeeping staff the procedure for correctly making the beds. We do have a few new housekeepers and we will be inspecting their work and continue to train them. We appreciate your input and we are glad to hear you will stay with us in the future. Thank you for your comments and for your patronage with our brand. Sincerely,
"Very Bad Experience!"
My first stay here in July was pretty good, so decided to stay again on my return trip. BAD IDEA! The night I checked in I wanted to spend a few relaxing minutes out by the pool. Didn't look like anyone was there until I saw a man in a lounge chair totally naked performing a very disgusting lewd act. I went right inside & told the desk clerk. Apparently the man was a regular because she called him by name & didn't do anything about it. I was very upset & felt very unsafe. I didn't sleep all night for fear of someone coming into my room. I didn't even wait for the complementary breakfast. I checked out at 6am. Sent a best Western an email but so far haven't heard anything
Angie T, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
As I said in the email that I sent you on August 23 and that I also in the email that I sent our BW Corporate office, my staff and I extend our sincere apologies for what you had encountered while staying at our hotel. This is absolutely not the type of hotel that allows such behavior and the police should have been called immediately. As I also mentioned, we did find out this man lives in the Wichita area and we have since put him on our "Do Not Rent" list. I have also met with our front desk staff and reviewed the procedures on how to handle such a unique situation like this. I would really like to make this right with you and I am hoping you will give us another try in the future. Please call me direct at 1-316-522-0775 and I will take care of your reservation. I promise we will do our best to make sure you have a wonderful stay. Sincerely,
"An Great Establishment with Great People"
You can't go anywhere else that the people are more caring. They go out of their way to see to your every need. If you have a problem, they bend over backwards to try to correct whatever has made you unhappy. Breakfast is good and they are always experimenting to try and make it better. Jan and Neil (the owners) are very hands on in the running of the establishment. The girls on the front desk could not be any friendlier. They are truly a professional group. I highly recommend this hotel.

"Nice with lots of Dinner Choices"
This Best Western was located just off the highway and was nice and quiet. There are quite a few choices for lunch or dinner within a few minutes walk after a long drive. Room was nice and comfortable with newer decor.
Angie T, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you for your comments and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay while in the Wichita area. In regards to the rooms, we recently renovated the entire hotel and our brand new BW signs are going up this week. We look forward to you visiting us again in the future. Sincerely,
"Best Western Governors Inn & Suites, Wichita, KS"
This is and excellent hotel, from the staff to the amenities. The beds are comfortable, the bedding and towels are the softest I've felt at any hotel and the location offers easy access from the highway and to nearby eating establishments. Roomy, clean and fast internet access.
"Baseball tournament "
Hosting a group of 16 year old boys usually has some issues but this hotel is a class act. All the staff was wonderful and pleasant every day. The rooms all have been up graded that we were in so do not go by the pics from 2013. Marble counters in the bathroom. Staff keep everything clean. Breakfast is ok not the best but is for free so those traveling have the option of saving money on breakfast. One of the few hotels with an outdoor pool for summer.
"Very pleasant hotel"
Our experience was really good. The front desk was really good. Out room was attractive, clean and roomy. Beds were really comfortable and the breakfast was good. The location was really good for us as we were on our way to Branson, MO.
"great place to stay"
very nice place , will stay again. will plan our next trip so we can go by and stay there. beds were great. water pressure was by far the best i have ever had in a hotel. the wife was very happy with our room and the whole trip was great.
"Great Stay"
Our stay here was great! We had a reservation and check-in was smooth and quick. The front desk worker was very polite. We had stayed at this location a couple years ago and was surprised to see many updated features. Our room, with King sized bed, was spacious and equipped with a microwave oven, mini fridge, television, and ironing board and iron. It was sparkling clean and smelled fresh. The bed was firm and so very comfortable! Updates to the bathroom included a granite counter and fresh tile. While the weather was extremely hot outside, the air conditioning unit worked very well to keep our room cool to our expectations - and we like it COOL! This hotel offers a complimentary breakfast and it had several items from which to select, including waffles to make, bagels, pastries, cold cereal, oatmeal to make, biscuits and gravy, coffee, apple and orange juices, yogurt, bananas and apples. The only things holding me back from rating this as "excellent" was that the breakfast bar wasn't always stocked completely, so people had to ask at the front desk for jelly, cream cheese, etc. Someone asked for eggs and was told, "We're out of those." Also, the breakfast room was very hot - seemed to be little to no ventilation in there, so that made for a quicker breakfast as we were sweating! I noticed a small outdoor pool outside of the breakfast area. We did not use the pool, but noticed a few lounge chairs located around it. We will definitely stay here again!
"Great place to stay"
Very clean and very nice staff made you feel like you were home I would definitely stay here every time.very nice firm bed, really clean rooms, and room smell very fresh , the staff goes out of your way to make you feel very comfortable
"Can't Get Enough of this Place"
Look, you can't find a staff that will take better care of you in the Wichita area. They are always asking if everything is going okay and when it is not, they go out of their way to ensure that it is made right. The services just keep improving at this hotel. The continue to add to their breakfast menu and the in-room internet was just recently improved. Amazing people they are!
"Great customer service"
The night we stayed there was a major storm with bad hail and tornadoes within a stones throw of the hotel. The employees on duty Kris an Colton were extremely calm and informative and had everything under control in a very professional manner. The morning clerk LaQuisha was extremely helpful providing towels and step stool to help me get my car clean up from the extensive hail damage. This place rocks!!!!
Angie T, Director of Sales at BEST WESTERN Governors Inn & Suites, responded to this review
Thank you for sending the great response for your hotel stay while in the Wichita area. However, the names you mentioned on duty are not employees of ours, so I am not sure which hotel you might have stayed at. I do hope it was a Best Western, because we are known for providing our guests Midwestern hospitality. Our newly renovated hotel is located at 4742 S Emporia, which is off of 47th Street and I35. We would gladly welcome you on your next visit to Wichita.
"A great place to stay"
We stayed here on our way to Memphis. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The wifi was good and the breakfast was hot with plenty of choices. I would recommend this hotel to others.

"As close to home as you can get"
The staff is wonderful. The owners are great people. The management is amazing. This hotel just continues to get better and better. I look forward to many more stays in the future as I come to Wichita for business. When I do have a problem (which is not often, at all), I have never seen a management staff react so quickly to ensure my happiness. Perhaps it's even better than home! Lol!

Thank you for letting us know how we are doing since our full hotel renovation. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to your return the next time you are in Wichita. Sincerely
"Great hotel, great price"
I love staying at this hotel. The staff is super friendly. The breakfast would be much better if it had bacon and eggs, but the biscuits and gravy are really good. The beds are terrible firm. I bring my own 3 inch foam mattress to put over the bed and that just helps a little. But overall its still a great value for a great room. I stayed at a La Quinta last weekend for a bowling tournament with my wife in Wichita and was terribly disappointed. The room was clean, but super tiny. The rooms at this Best Western are large, well equipped, and very clean. Even with the still bed I'd still stay here.

Thank you for your great comments on stay at our newly renovated hotel. In regards to the "bacon and eggs" for breakfast we do served scrambled eggs at least 3-4 times per week along with sausage. I will definitely put the word out to our owners that bacon would be a great entree to add to our list. You are obviously a very seasoned travelers to bring your foam mattress. We are glad you were comfortable. We look forward to hosting you again on your next visit to Wichita. Happy Travels!
"Missing wifi"
Very poor wifi, was reported to staff, they were unable to fix the problem. Needed wifi to be able to communicate with my business, needs to be serviced ASAP. Breakfast could have been better, sausage was greasy/cold and eggs were only offered cold.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback on your recent stay. We apologize about the WiFi connection. We have addressed the issue and have been assured that our WiFi has been corrected and has a great connection. In regards to your breakfast, we have since upgraded the steamer pan to a more superior product therefore keeping the products at the correct temperature. We hope the next time you are in Wichita, you will give us another try. We appreciate your comments so that we could address those issues and now we believe the next time you stay at our hotel we will meet your expectations. Happy Travels!
"Wichita Best Western"
Rooms size was great, large bed slept great, room was very clean and all emenities worked. Staff were friendly and helpful. Several resturants near by. Parking for large rigs could be improved but overall I would stay there again if I'm in the area.

Thank you for your recent response when you stayed at our newly renovated hotel. We are happy to hear that everything met your expectations. The large rigs usually park on the street since it is not a highly traveled street. However, we do appreciate your feedback and look forward to hosting you again in the near future. Sincerely,
"Great Breakfast"
The girls that work the front desk are amazing. The entire staff goes out of their way to be of service to the guests. And the choice of breakfast items in the morning was amazing! The owners are always asking for any recommendations that might help improve the experience and I appreciate their willingness to always look for ways to improve the stay!
"Smh..."
I couldn't believe the experience I had at this Best Western Hotel. I thought all Best Western had to meet a certain criteria but it must differ from place to place. The hotel staff at check in was okay but the breakfast lady and front desk lady at check out didnt even acknowledge us. The refrigerator didn't work and there was hair in the sheets and in the shower. The breakfast looked old and there wasn't much to choose from. The entire experience was nothing to brag about.
"My Stay At BW Governor's inn & Suites"
I was very disappointed. We have stay here about 6 times in the past. The breakfast was terrible. Cold eggs, gravy & biscuits. Hard jelly, no microwave to use, no hot water for oatmeal. The pillows were terrible, too soft. second day we didn't get a plastic liner for the ice bucket or coffee items.
"High quality at a value price"
Very near the turnpike and interstate in south Wichita with easy access and just far enough away for a very quiet stay. This is a moderate sized hotel so no dealing with a crowd. Easy parking access and nearby restaurants and shopping. Not particularly close to downtown Wichita, but Wichita is easy and very fast to get to anywhere in town, so save a lot of dollars and stay a few minutes away.
"staying with this motel"
Very courteous people over the phone booking went very smoothly, and at front desk the receptionist was very cooperative, being with CLC she still gave me room on first floor upon my request due to the bad wrist carrying luggage was bit difficult. I thank you the young lady at reception for understanding me. The room was clean and had a great smell bathroom was very clean too. I will si=suggest to all my travelers friends to stay with this motel and enjoy your night as being at home.
"A Place to feel at home"
Great place to stay when away from home. The staff is willing to bend over backwards to see to their customers needs. The breakfast at this location just keeps getting better and better as the owners continue to look at ways to improve the breakfast meal.
"Well Done Hotel"
The hotel is in a great location - easy access and easy to find. It was clean and looked to be recently updated. Staff was very good and I did get a good value for the money. I will stay at this hotel again when I return for business in the area.
"Wichita"
Needed a handicap room. Was able to get one with walk in shower. Much appreciated. All I had to say so if you need me to comment any more then you are not going to get it. This 200 character crap is for the birds. I REALLY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ELSE OF VALUE TO SAY. IS THIS ENOUGH CHARACTERS YET?
"Pet Friendly & Clean"
We stayed one night with our 2 small dogs. Reception was super friendly. Gave us a recommendation for a quick place to get good food. Our room was clean and it was quiet. Bed was comfortable. Doubt that we'll be in the area again but we'd definitely stay here again if we were.
"FREQUENT STAYS"
very nice staff, very clean, and spacious rooms I stay here at least 2 times a month for 2 nights never had any problems with anything, and there's a variety of restaurants around...they do serve breakfast which is nice
"A good bed, clean sheets, and quiet."
A good bed, clean sheets, and quiet - not much more than that, but maybe that's all you need. I stay at lots of Best Western motels in the USA. They are all independent and the standards and qualities are very variable. The main attraction for me is to collect Best Western points - and to use them at several superior motels and hotels that I know in Europe. European Best Westerns are great - and sometimes, like this stay, I just have to keep reminding myself that I'm earning points. The check-in person was indifferent and distracted. The room had a toilet that ran - off and on all night - and the AC was noisy. The carpet had some very large and suspicious-looking spots. But all I needed was a place to sleep and I got it.
"best stay with best western"
It was great pleasure to stay at this property, staff was very helpful and cooperative, due to bad wrist I ask for room on first floor which was given to me with out any question, CLC guys are treated nice at times... ;)
"Bad Place To Stay"
My wife & I have been coming here for years - the quality is deteriorating in the rooms even as the entrance way is being rebuilt. The interiors of the air conditioners are dirty - the bottom of the bathtub(s) squeak and groan when we took a shower (my wife & I are not heavy people) - the hair dryer did not function in one of the rooms On another subject -one of the male desk personnel needs to understand that his personal needs to listen to his favorite radio show in the breakfast area should not be at such a loud volume to completely distract the guests trying to enjoy the beginning of the day. Still another subject - the guest in the room next to ours had a dog that barked almost continuously - this 4 legged 'guest' woke us up at midnight. We complained to the desk clerk and he called the room and received no answer - no one from the desk went up to the room. The desk person did call us and said he received no reply from the room. We finally got to sleep around 1:45am. I asked to be comped for the night and the manager was contacted by phone and authorized only a 50% discount citing the fact that we stayed in the room. I guess the manager thought we should pack our bags at 1:30 in the morning and found another place to stay . We are STILL waiting for the refund of the 50% discount. I must emphasize that the female desk personnel were very apolgetic over the problems. THEY should be commended for their concern over our problems.
"Mostly great"
My first impression while staying at this hotel last night was wonderful. When I was first checking in, the man at the front desk was extremely friendly. Shortly after we had moved our belongings into our room, he even called the room phone to ask if everything was ok with the room. I have never had somebody at a hotel do that before, so I was very impressed. The room itself was nice. It was clean, the beds were comfy, and it even had a microwave, refrigerator, and table. My only complaint about the room was that the toilet was difficult to flush and usually took multiple tries to successfully flush. The exterior of the hotel is in the process of being renovated, so it is a bit of a mess to try to get into the building. That's not something that really bothered me though because it shows me that they are working to improve the property. My biggest complaint about the entire stay was that there did not seem to be enough parking for as many rooms as there are. It appeared to be mostly full. We were in town for a concert last night and went out to eat after that, so we didn't get back to the hotel until very late. There were absolutely no spots left (except for two that couldn't be parked in because people were taking up 2 spots). The parking lot next door had a sign saying no hotel parking, so we had no clue where to go. The person that was with me went inside to ask where we should park, and she was told to park at an empty bicycle shop building behind the hotel with a sign going into the parking lot saying no trespassing and violators will be towed. We had to walk across the huge, wet (and basically swampy) grassy area behind the hotel to get back. There was very little lighting, and quite frankly, it was a little unnerving. Breakfast was ok--nothing to write home about. They had a wide variety of food, although it was a bit cold since we were near the end of the breakfast time, and the workers seemed in a huge hurry to clean up and were annoyed by the number of people still in the room. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I wouldn't mind staying there again. However, I would definitely make sure to not stay out late next time!
"always freindly and clean"
This hotel is always a great place to stay. Always a friendly smile, nice people, hotel is always clean and the food hot and fresh. It is very convenient to family oriented food and shopping, It is also very close to major highways.
"Clean place, helpful, friendly people"
Very clean place. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again! Microwave and fridge in the room. They are getting ready to work on their awning over the front door, so there may be some construction in the up coming month or so. Breakfast had a waffle maker, biscuits and gravy, sometimes sausage and pre-formed scrambled eggs.
"Visit in Wichita, KS"
It was organized by the conference that this hotel was the best available at a fair price. I have stayed in Best Western hotels in various parts of the States. This one was middle of the road. I would recommend the hotel depending on the geographical requirments.
