Best Western Plus Bolton on the Park

If I could give zero stars, I would. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that I have stayed at this hotel previously and had no issues at all. I therefore had no reason to approach this situation with any preconceived negativity. Unfortunately, this time was very different. I contacted the hotel because a staff member was rude to me over the phone. That was my complaint. Simple. Clear. Straightforward. Apparently, however, that was too difficult to acknowledge. Instead of listening to what I was actually saying, the Manager decided that my complaint was somehow about a room issue. . Yet somehow I found myself being presented with paperwork, previous bookings and a whole history of information that had absolutely nothing to do with the complaint I was making. Let me be crystal clear: I was complaining about rude service. I was not complaining about a room. I was not disputing a booking. I was not asking anyone to investigate some historical issue. I was simply pointing out that I had been spoken to rudely by a member of staff. Rather than saying, “I wasn't there, but I'm sorry you were spoken to that way and we'll look into it,” the response was essentially to find another explanation for why I was unhappy. That is not listening to a customer. That's trying to explain away the complaint until it becomes something more convenient to respond to. And this is what I find most frustrating: I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I wasn't demanding compensation or making some complicated allegation. I wanted the concern to be acknowledged. The irony is that the Manager's response actually made the situation worse. Instead of acknowledging the concern, I was made to feel as though I had somehow misunderstood my own experience. I know what I complained about. I was there. You don't get to change the subject and then tell me that the subject I raised wasn't actually the problem. A genuine apology and a simple acknowledgement would have gone a very long way. Instead, I got excuses, paperwork and references to previous bookings — anything, it seemed, except an acknowledgement that the staff member's behaviour may have been inappropriate. Hotels are in the hospitality business. Being treated with basic courtesy should not be an unreasonable expectation. I have stayed here before without issue, which makes it all the more disappointing to leave this experience feeling that my very straightforward complaint was not heard or taken seriously. The original issue was poor service. The response to the complaint was arguably just as disappointing.

This is our second time staying here and will now be the last time. This place is clean and spacious but for $264.00 a night you would expect the beds to be comfy. Chiro for us now

We had a great little stay! We stayed in a twin room upstairs and it was exactly as pictured. Very spacious, good in-room facilities and very clean. The person at the front desk was very informative as well. The main source of daylight is the front window that faces the walkway so if you want to keep that closed for privacy, you're stuck with in-room lighting but honestly, that's the only con and it isn't really a problem so all in all, I would highly recommend!

The location is excellent for being close to all things in town in Wagga Wagga and also just a 5 minute walk into town so no need to drive. It was a pleasant, quiet apartment however for what we paid for and for what the photos looked like online I really thought it was an upmarket accommodation and it's actually very very basic. It's a big apartment in terms of living space, the main bedroom is very large but the smaller bedroom is tiny with no wardrobe, mirror, shelf or anything for you to place your suitcase on or to unpack what is in your suitcase. Our daughter stayed in the 2nd room alone, but there were 3 single beds in there and no room for anything else. She could spread her things out on the other 2 beds but otherwise there's no where to put your belongings. The free amenities in the bathroom, ie. shampoo and conditioner had an awful smell and did not lather well and the moisturiser bottle was completely empty. I went and bought our own toiletries because these were well below standard. The kitchen is lovely, clean and large but doesn't have a sharp cutting knife to cut your vegetables, food etc. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We were able to purchase a $10 pass for the whole family to the leisure centre up the road that has gym and pool facilities which is an absolute bargain and we really appreciated that. There is very limited parking at the facility and if you come after 8pm, good luck getting a car park. We lucked out 2 of the 5 nights we stayed there. For a 2 bedroom place and assuming you have multiple people staying the accommodation, I would prefer a toilet separate to the bathroom so that while someone is in the bathroom you can still access the toilet - but this was all in one and I wish I had thought to research this in more detail as that's a deal breaker for me in the future. Lovely staff, clean accommodation but for what we paid, I think there are better options around.

Room was spacious because it was a disabled room. Bed comfortable, room clean. Friendly staff. Parking out front of the room, which is a plus. Busy road and not very close to food outlets (walking).

Restaurant closed long term no reason given. Bedside power points in very dumb location behind side tables. Cosmethics brand body wash soap etc good. No communal facilities outside the room, not even a chair or bench to sit down is very bad. Modern and spacious appointments Good location.

The room was beautiful - large and generous and the servicing was generous each day. We chose the hotel believing it had a restaurant, however discovered too late there was no restaurant onsite at the moment. Perhaps in the future?? not sure. But just across the road, the Mercure bar and restaurant filled the gap.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was good value, especially the member rate, and with having kitchenette to cook own meals. Bedrooms were very comfortable. Bathroom was decent size with free standing shower but small vanity and nowhere to really put clothes whilst in bathroom. Needs more shelving or hooks. Check in was easy. Was a good choice for overnight stay whilst on the road.

Good value and friendly service. My only 2 negatives are the room deodoriser was too strong, and the bed too firm. Well located with a short walk to a nearby hotel for dinner and a short drive into the town centre. Would recommend if your passing through.

Great service from Murray and the team, very welcoming. Nice and convenient location, 3 minutes' drive into the CBD. I stay on a regular basis, so I really appreciate the 'free gym' pass option available. The small restaurant provides, nice, homely quality food and a good option after a busy day at work, very convenient. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and well maintained in my experience. Very quiet despite being on a busy roundabout area, I was very surprised. Nice location for walking along the river pathway and also into town. Has been my preferred weekly stay when in Wagga Wagga.

Excellent stay, the team are very welcoming and the facilities are the best in Wagga! Rooms are very comfortable and in house restaurant makes it easy when travelling for business. Always my first pick when staying in Wagga.

Have stayed here many times now and it's in a great location for us and rooms are clean and smell nice and fresh when you walk in and staff very helpful and friendly. We will be back to visit again soon.

Great stay in a well located site, an easy walk into town on a flat well maintained surface alongside a park/open space. We stayed in Room 2, a ground floor park facing room. The room was spacious and well laid out, with no noise at all from outside even though the motel is situated on a busy road (busy only for Wagga!). The cleanliness of the room was excellent, with housekeeping well above our usual expectations. The Office staff were very friendly and created a very pleasant environment. Would thoroughly recommend.

Bed too hard! So hard I tried to book elsewhere but nothing available. Room and bathroom looking very tired and bathroom especially needs a revamp (2 hooks to hang towels but no where to put your clothes or toiletries) Expensive for a mid / low range hotel. I would not stay here again.

I would highly recommend. Very clean. Easy access and walking distance to CBD. Staff were amazing, very friendly and accommodating. Parking on site. Delicious food in the restaurant and very accommodating to late arrival.

Superb upstairs room with a view of the Park and enough room to accommodate a Family of four. Ample parking downstairs and in the street. Reception folk very helpful and nice to deal with. Shall return!....LJO

We only stayed at the Bolton on the Park for a night as a stopover on our trip, but we would recommend it as a great place to stay. We stayed in a two bedroom unit. It was downstairs, with parking right outside, and was in great condition, and oh so spacious. The location is good and the service from that staff was also very good. When it is cool enough, you are very close to the path along the Murrumbidgee River. Wagga was also very hot when we got there, and the unit was beautifully cool! We also really enjoyed the fireworks at the Albert Lake for New Year's Eve, as recommended by the staff and also the people down the road in the Visitor's Information Centre.

We had a great stay here the position of the motel was great the rooms very clean and the breakfast was very good. Wonderful staff so helpful and accommodating to all our needs.Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed overnight on our way to SA. Large clean room, great location, plenty of parking on-site. Comfortable king bed and pillows. Restaurant on site and few minutes drive to the town centre. Friendly reception staff. We'll definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel with on site restaurant. Very clean, on site parking. Restaurant has a small menu but food was really good and fresh. Room was large with sofa and king bed. Tv has foxtel. Well stocked fridge, bathroom was modern and shower was lovely and hot. Staff very welcoming and attentive.

A great stay here for two nights - I chose this motel on the basis of recent reviews and wasn't disappointed. Very friendly and efficient check-in, room was ready when I arrived, lots of parking available. I'd booked a 'park view' room which was very large, bright and modern: a nice quiet a/c unit, lots of opening windows, comfy bed & couch and a modern bathroom with a shower. The room was very clean on arrival and serviced very professionally during my stay. Wifi was free and fast and lots of TC channels (free to air + Foxtel). Same staff member farewelled me when I checked out - again, very friendly service. This is probably the nicest motel I've stayed in for a long time - helped by being new, clean and with great staff. It's the clear choice for staying in Wagga. Thanks!

The staff at check-in was totally professional. The room was large, spacious, modern and super clean. This is what all motels should strive for. The room was quiet and provided an excellent night of rest. The bed was super comfortable. I wouldn't hestitate to book here again if I'm in the area. I highly recommend this property.

We were very happy with our stay. The room was clean and spacious, towels were refreshed daily, not anywhere we have stayed does this. Easy arrangements for late check in. We would highly recommend staying here.

The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Murray, the manager, provided excellent service to our group - one of whom had a guide dog and Murray couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at Bolton on the Park. Such friendly and welcoming staff. Our room was one of the cleanest room I have ever stayed in and very modern. Loved the bathroom and shower was amazing. Highly recommend.

Appreciated the friendly efficient flexible service. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Would have liked the TV to be positioned so that could watch it sitting in chairs rather than in bed. the Community Room would have been used by us if we had known about it when booking in. Relatives were staying in other rooms so it would have been good if we could have all gathered together there

Excellent sized room, airy and fresh with natural light and could open a window. Walked to shops, great location. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. A great stay, would recommend and would stay again.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially given the staff shortages in hospitality due to Covid. From booking to check out, the staff here are amazing. Room service from the restaurant was tasty and good value. Bathroom is nicely detailed in marble and main living room spacious and comfortable. The king bedroom was small with no bedsides or lights.

Friendly staff on checkin, modern unit that had been updated, was very clean and well maintained. Well appointed amenities. Daily towel service. Would recommend for families, room was large and spacious.

An excellent accommodation with fantastic service, positioned well in the town, not far to entertainment. Breakfast tasty and good, room service available if you cannot make the restaurant times in the Motel. The rooms are clean and well serviced

Everything was absolutely wonderful. The people were lovely. Our room was great. We ate in the restaurant which was also lovely. It was refreshing to have such amazing staff. Our room was serviced everyday. Overall. A great time.

It was a very clean - spacious room with bath and shower. Really enjoyed my stay and will be back - this is the nicest hotel I have found in wagga so far so I was pleasantly surprised - the location is also great - very close to the shops but far enough away to not have a lot of noise

We were in Wagga Wagga to see our son march out at for the Army, we were in need of a 3bed room well what we got was unreal. It was a 2 bedroom sweet with 2 king size beds and a pull out sofa. the room was very large and very comfortable. I could not be more happy with the price and our stay.

Room was very large, modern and clean. Decent towels and bed linen and plenty of tea facilities. Good location, mostly quiet although you can hear the trucks on the highway late at night. Only possible downside is that the beds are very firm which is good for those that like harder mattresses but not for those that like soft plush sleeping.

Our family found last minute accommodation at Bolton on the Park Hotel and we were surprised with the quality of the building, room and service. Reception was friendly but very professional. Anything we asked for they were willing to provide. The room was very comfortable, everything was extremely clean and the location is nice and quiet. And - plenty of parking!

Absolutely beautiful motel. Very accommodating Manager & staff. We were stranded due to floods, and Management were very helpful in juggling rooms to enable us to stay longer until we could get home. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Overall, we will definitely be back next time we are in Wagga. :-)

Very friendly service, the room was a large room and so clean. And modern. We ate at the restaurant and the food was so delicious. Very close to everything. Would defiantly stay there again and would highly recommend.

I really liked the accomodation at this hotel . One of the best in Wagga Wagga. The rooms were modern, clean, large, and the owner was very thoughtful. She put the heater on prior to my arrival. Close to good restaurants.

Tina is a real asset to this hotel, she was willing to assist in meeting my requests, and offering advice on dining and shopping options. The hotel is walking distance to several supermarkets, however, there isn't a microwave in the room. My room was next to the stairs and I did hear people coming and going. The main and only windows in this room opened directly to the car park, which meant that curtains had to be closed. Otherwise good value.

This beautiful little hotel is the perfect getaway spot! The location is right in the centre of town and close to everything. The room was a great size, spotlessly clean and very modern and functional. The service was excellent with friendly staff, and the check-in and check-out was quick and easy! I'll definitely be staying here again when I'm next in Wagga!

This is a great motel. The rooms are large, tastefully furnished ,& very clean. Showers are fantastic. You can get continental breakfast for $12 in the restaurant & coffee is extra $3 but good coffee. Its an easy walk to the main shopping area of Wagga. Staff are very nice as well.

What a lovely motel..the rooms are spotlessly clean beds comfortable. Shower excellent. Has a lounge as well that doesnt dip. Would defintely stay again. Has the best aircon too...really hot over xmas..we will be back
