Best Western Hotel Botnia

The outside is really great, in summer it's wonderful. The inside is mostly cleaned and nice, the rooms are rather small but the carpet in the corridor of the rooms is quite dirty. Breakfast is great, a lot of choice, restaurant is all right but not too many choices. I really liked the fact that all the staff, but one, is female, and they do their job pretty well. Unfortunately they are very slow on cleaning the rooms, and sometimes they don't even clean them carefully. The sight from the sauna is really relaxing.

Good bed and breakfast. East to check in and very kind staff. Will probably use this hotel some more times. Price level affordable.

This was my firs time in Sweden, Thanks to Nora at reception who made me feel like I was at home. Nora really made the stay enjoyable with her caring nature and ability to please with her endless energy and knowledge, Thank you! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The food is lovely and cooked to very high standards by the kitchen team. Darren.

Honestly the best scrambled eggs I've had from a hotel breakfast. Very polite and informative staff. Rooms were nothing special but thats not a bad thing either, they were well cleaned and fresh! The price even included dinner in the price aswell which made the stay even more worthwhile. I would for sure stay here again!

A small, personal hotel with all the facilities that you need, located in the sunset of Umeå river. Best sleep for the bucks. Walking distance to the airport and downtown of Umeå. I had a standard room, with two single beds, that could be put together

We stayed here following the ferry ride from Vaasa. The room was on the small side but worked for a night and we slept comfortably. Breakfast the following day was pretty average but there was a lovely view of the lake.

Stayed here for 4 nights with my wife, who is visiting me i Umeå these days. Really nice hotel, easy to find, easy to park. Cheap, comfortable and extremely kind and helpful service. The bed is the best I have slept in for many years travelling around the world. Brillant buffet morning and evening. Worldclass hotel !!!

We stayed here only one night on our way to Stockholm, so the location was convenient for us - we had a car and did not want to drive it to central Umeå. The room was alright, cozy and average sized. The staff was very friendly, and helped us to store my boyfriend's bike. The breakfast was good, but nothing special. The view on the patio was beautiful though!

If you don't need to be in the center of town and you have a car, this hotel is an excellent option when staying in Umeå. Because it's not in the city, it's quiet. Everything was of a good to very good standard without being outstanding. The outside seating overlooking the river would probably make this hotel an even better option in the summer.

Ideally located near the airport. I was working at the university which is a bit of a trek from the hotel but the hotel has a dozen bikes that it loans for free. The cycle paths in Umeå are superb so I just rode everywhere like a local. And at the end of the day there was a lovely sauna waiting. Good breakfast buffet and very helpful staff. Great value too. Would definitely stay again.

we were there two days before. the service in the hotel is very good. it has free parking places. we had a free dinner as a BW member and welcome package. the room was clean and it was really quiet. the breakfast was ok. I would stay in this hotel for a short trip again.

This is a nice but simple hotel. They offer to pick you up at the airport (very close) and they will give you a ride to down town Umeå and pick you up when you are done. I used this service to got my meetings and when I wanted to get back I just called the reception and they send a driver over. It is walking distance to central Umeå on a nice day, they also have bicycles that you can lend. Monday to Thursday there is also a very nice evening buffé, check with the hotel for summer months this might not be included or available. Lots of parking lots. God value for money when traveling for business and you are not looking for nightlife.

The Best Western Hotel Botnia was my choice in September 2015 during a customer visit in Umeå. I had to pay the record all time high price of 1767 SEK, that equals 209 USD per night. What a rip-off! For that amount of money you can stay in Manhattan for that amount of money... But here in Umeå you get a very, very basic room. Unfortunatelly no upgrade was provided, eventhough I am Best Western Platinum Elite member. Small and uncomfortable bed, cheapes toiletries from China, budget toilet paper. There was not even a hotel safe provided. No heating provided in the bathroom either. Unfortunatelly my room was located in a dead spot without WIFI coverage. Why cant they do a WIFI survey to prevent those kind of things for their guests? The breakfast was a joke. They provided 2 different kind of cheese and only very dry and aged bread. One jam was provided, thats it. I really regret to have stayed here. What a desaster.

Stayed one night on a stopover. The room was spotless and comfortable, the breakfast extremely tasty, and service with a smile from the staff. The best bit for me about the hotel was its location next to the river. From the window seat in the restaurant you can see people kayaking past, and the outdoor area has hot tubs and activities for guests to do. I agree with others that it's not cheap, but Umea is a great city with lots to see.

Very nicely located by the river of Umea and featured with a river sauna. An excellent breakfast buffet, very typical Swedish. Very nice and helpful staff in the entire hotel, we arrived late and departed very early.

After some very long days of difficult flying was forced to stop in Umea. Made this reservation based on TripAdvisor reviews--and was exactly as reviewed! Very nice young man behind the desk--super helpful! Room very extra clean, comfortable, very cozy and got a great night sleep as it rained heavily outside. The buffet dinner was as reviewed--okay. Breakfast was good and plentiful. If you are traveling and need a good, clean, comfortable hotel nearby, this is the place!!

A good hotel for this area, with excellent staff attention and service. Rooms were good, buffet dinner was OK, and included in the room rate, so I would say very acceptable and pretty tasty, as was the breakfast.
