« You can count on Best Western. »

You can always count on Best Western for clean, comfortable rooms and this was no exception. This was an unexpected stop on our travels and we were happy to find a nice hotel. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Clean room and bathroom. The staff was friendly and nice. Good breakfast. The chili sauce was a nice treat!

    « home from albuqure »

Room was very comfortable. Check-in & out both good. very good breakfast. Steak housenext door. Will stop next trip. We go to PBR bull riding every year. First tome in this motel, the one from now on.

    « Comfy and nice »

We were pleasantly surprised. Very nice room, clean and comfortable, quiet and easy to access. The K-Bob's next door was convenient and good. Will certainly stay there again when we pass back through.

    « Clean and comfortable!! »

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided a good variety to choose from. This was just a quick pit stop on the way home, in late and out early but it provided everything we needed. I would stay there again.

« A stay along the way back home after a winter in Arizona. »

We found our room to be clean and comfortable. The ground floor was just what we wanted. Our breakfast on the next morning had lots of foods, fruits, and breads and cereals. Overall I would recommend this motel for comfort and quality.

    « Tucumcaeri »

Hotel was next to I-40, but quiet in rooms. We didn't particularly like having to walk upstairs to our room, but did not know it was a 2 story hotel. Most of lower rooms were occupied by people traveling home after being snowbirds in the south. We were able to handle stairs, just not as convenient. Hotel clean and would be used again if a trip took us through Tucumcari.

    « GOOD STOP »

Good clean room with good bed and pillows. Had refrig/microwave/and very nice patio. Good shower head. Good selection at breakfast. Was very nice to have a restaurant across parking lot. Carol, the receptionist, was very friendly and helpful. Easy on and off of Interstate, good parking.

    4
    « Mostly good »

Overall the stay was fine, room was clean, bed comfortable. We were on the end of the building closer to the road so we did hear road noise. Our room had a patio door, which I think affected the noise levels as friends who stayed closer to the main area did not hear it. I would suggest not staying in that area (breezeway).

    5
    « Yea! Non-dairy options at breakfast! »

I could eat breakfast here because of the non-dairy options: hard-boiled eggs and SOY milk. My body attacks casein (protein in milk) in my cells so restaurant breakfasts are a problem (use of butter, cheese, yogurt & milk). Our annual cross-country trips will always include this property!

    « Easy pet-friendly stop »

Great motor lodge style hotel, easy to load & unload, decent area to walk the dog (their "pet area" was tiny and not clean; the not-clean part is the fault of the pet owners...c'mon, people, they give you bags & everything!), the room was nice and fairly functional with a lovely patio that I could not use because of the 35 mph zephyr wafting through that evening (certainly not the hotel's fault) and there was a rude guest having a speakerphone convo at roughly 110 decibels until about 11 p.m. local time (also not their fault). Fragrances kept to a minimum, which is great for people like myself with sensitivity to such things. Tile floor, great for a pet-friendly room.

    « 1st Day BAck »

Not a friendly check in procedure. Got the feeling that the individual was very put out to have us there. Rooms are all outside entrances, which is a possible security problem. Rooms were clean, but older looking. Had to walk outside to get to the breakfast area, to short to drive. Food was OK. Machine ran out of orange juice and I had to tell a staff member.

    4
    « Good Hotel »

The check in was quick, and the clerk very helpful. The room was large and well appointed. The only issue was that the ice dispenser was not convenient, and the outside door required room key, but the lock didn't work so had to access via the lobby. Other than that, the stay was enjoyable and the WiFi was very fast.

« Could have been good but... »

When we opened the door we were blasted with a chemical smell. Left for a few hours, thinking it would be better when we returned. Nope. When we checked in, we were told the hotel was fully booked so I knew we could not switch rooms. It was hard to sleep the smell was so strong. When I was checking out I mentioned this to the person at the desk and was told ?they must have used too much bleach I guess? and handed me the bill. BTW, our room was in the breezeway at the end of the building, it is loud as you hear a lot of noise from the highway and there is a patio door facing the parking lot which might be an issue/increase the noise level.

    5
    « Great stay »

We stayed here overnight. The check in was fast and our room was nice. The beds were so comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The breakfast was awesome. Plenty of hot foods ,fruit, yogurt, cereal. We really enjoyed our stay.

    « Just Passing Through »

I was on my way home from Plano, TX to Pagosa Springs, CO. I booked my room on line, and I am glad I did. This hotel is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent with hot items as well as cold items. I had scrambled eggs and raisin bread toast. The coffee was even good. I will stop here again when I am traveling on I-40.

    4
    « Great Nights Sleep »

From the time I checked in until the time I checked out the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and tidy. Great place to stay for the night after driving 10hours. The price is a little high in my opinion even after utilizing my Best Western rewards card. This is an older hotel but the rooms have been updated. Access from the interstate is easy.

    5
    « great as always »

Love this hotel. Always use a coupon (hotelcoupons.com). Breakfast is great . YOU MUST try their green chile soup.(yes, for breakfast). Rooms are clean and have grounds are nice. When we travel thru Tucumcari, which is about 3 4 times a year, this is our hotel! Ask for a room away from the highway!!

    5
    « CARING STAFF »

My C-Pap machine that I left in the hotel was just delivered by priority mail thanks to Carol (the lady that called to inform me that I left my machine behind) and the wonderful staff that worked together to make sure I was reunited with my sleep apnea machine. A sudden death in my family and nearly 2,500 miles round trip with pending bad weather left me distracted. The front desk was friendly and helpful. the room was larger than expected and very clean. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. The dining space was large and clean. Parking was free. Great cookies too!

    5
    « Great breakfast! »

Best breakfast of any hotel we've had in the past! Outside entrances to rooms (old hotel, completely upgraded on inside!) but don't let that keep you away - best value in the area, super clean & modern inside!

    1
    « Very dissatisfied »

Extremely disappointed. Pet owners are treated to filthy rooms. In our experience this does not happen with all hotel chains. Heating system difficult to regulate. Dented fridge, filthy chair, dirt on floor.

« Best Western in Tucumcari NM »

Over haul the hotel was good, staff polite and helpful. The issue was the room heater didn't work properly, was to late when we turned it on to contact the desk, it needed a repair person which I felt they could't provide late in the evening. So I didn't contact the desk.

    5
« Nice Pet Friendly Motel »

Nice pet friendly hotel. Rooms are clean. The pet friendly rooms have tiles. Rooms are large. Overall, a pleasant room, clean. Like the exterior hallway. Breakfast was not well stocked. It would be good to keep products available until the end of breakfast. However, that is not an uncommon issue.

    « Better than Expected »

I travel for work and stopped in the area for the night while passing through. I usually look for another hotel brand but they were about $50 more, and decided to book at this hotel. When I pulled up, even though it doesn't look bad, I felt a little weary about my choice. I think this is probably an older hotel that has been renovated. I wasn't sure what to expect when I got to my room, but I was pleasantly surprised that my room was very nice. It appeared that it hadn't been too many years ago that it has been renovated. It was clean and updated. Unlike most other hotels I stayed in, this one has a balcony, so you could open the door for fresh air, as well as sit outside to relax. I had a corner room, so I had an extra window on the side for extra light. They offered the same amenities as other hotels: frig, microwave, coffee maker, toiletries, iron, blow dryer, etc.. The beds were not too firm, nor soft. Pillows also okay. The TV seemed to offer a lot of channels. The ice maker, and breakfast are in the building near check in. They seemed to have a lot of good choices (hot and cold) for breakfast. Now here were my only complaints. No elevators, if you had many items to carry upstairs. And the stairs were in mid-corridor, away from the parking lot. As a single traveler, it made me weary that at night, someone could be easily hiding in these areas. And I did not see any obvious cameras nearby to have as security. Outside of that, this is a small town, and you are right on the edge of it. Several fast food places and a few sit down restaurants. All you could easily walk to. This is right off of the interstate and truckers drive through ALL night long. While I was still able to sleep, if pure quiet is what you need, keep this location (rooms next to the interstate) in mind to avoid. And one last thing, perhaps the age of the place, but occasionally I heard rattling going on in the walls for a few minutes. Maybe the pipes? But that was the only thing that was annoying, and bothersome. It may be the one thing that might keep me from staying here again, unless the issue gets fixed. Maybe it is just the section I was staying in, but you can ask at the front desk. Other than that, I did not find this a bad Best Western, and aside from the rattling, I would stay here again.

Great stay at Best western Discovery Inn . Very friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend this facility to anyone traveling through Tucumcari. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was really good

« Tucumcari, NM Best Western hotel »

Hotel and staff were very accommodating and helpful. The exterior of the hotel may have needed a few upgrades, but otherwise, it was a nice stay. Had some difficulty with the wi-fi service in the hotel, but it was not a big concern. Room was clean and breakfast was good. Would recommend it.

    5
    « A Beautiful Comfy Spot »

Our room was beautiful, pet friendly with nice tiled flooring, and a super comfy king bed. The breakfast was super delicious and free! The entire staff was helpful and friendly. The decor is very, very pretty and homey. It is easy to get to right off the interstate and near several restaurants. Would gladly stay here again

    4
« Comfortable room, breakfast very good. Bit of noise... »

Our room was most comfortable, and very suited to our needs. The only thing that bothered us was the noise from the people in the room above us. It was intermittent, so we didn't report it, I just mentioned it to the receptionist the next morning. I will get a room on the 2nd floor the next stay, if our travels take us by here again. The breakfast was delicious and a good selection!

    5
    « Never Disappointed »

This Inn is one of the cleanest and most welcoming with friendly knowedgeable staff. The lobby is beautifully appointed, the rooms are clean and beautiful, beds are comfortable, internet works fine, bathroom is clean and breakfast is substantial. What more do you want for an overnifht stay! Plus it is easy off/easy on to the highway. We will stay here again on our cross-country travels.

    5
« Pet and Veteran Friendly »

We tried to check in at the LaQuinta across the way from this hotel but they said their pet friendly rooms were all booked, really? Anyway they recommended the Best Western and they are pet friendly for a fee. We were pleasantly surprised that we and our pet were welcomed. The front desk folks offered warm cookies and dog snacks upon check-in. They even acknowledged our veteran status, which was nice. The breakfast isn't bad, but "real" eggs would be nice! We had a nice and quiet stay both times in November. Good job! We were informed by the owner at the front desk that all Best Westerns were independently owned so all hotels are not the same. Be aware of their pet policies they vary a lot.

« Great place to stay »

Stayed here 2 years ago while traveling through the state and planned this trip so we could stay here again. Stopped on the way west and on the way back east. Great clean rooms. We will stay again next time.

    « Average »

This hotel is ok. The front desk staff has been kind of rude the last 2 times I have stayed there. The rooms are ok and breakfast is good. It is not a bad place to stay. Not sure if I will stay here again.

    5
« I always get a great discount and the room we stay in is very clean and have not had no problems every time we stay. »

I always get a great discount and every time we stay in this hotel the rooms are always clean. The breakfast is excellent and there service is great. We always stay here every time we pass through town on our vacation to Texas.

    5
    « Welcome Sight »

The staff was very professional and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was soft. The breakfast area and the breakfast itself was top notch. The internet in the room was fast and easy to connect. I guess the only negative would be a better discount on the room, but that's just me.

    5
« Best Western Tucumcari NM Nice Place Close to Rt 66 »

We enjoyed our stay here very much. There was a very nice place to eat just in front of the hotel. Food was very good, even though we generally don't do buffets, and at a really good price. The area just off the interstate is a bit congested especially near the hotel, but clears up quickly after you go down the road a bit.

    5
    « Very nice motel »

Very clean rooms and a very good breakfast nice The front desk person was very polite and very helpful . The lady serving the breakfast was very polite and very helpful to and the location right off the freeway was nice .

« Good night of sleep »

This is a huge complex with a pool. Very clean room and nicely decorated. The bed slept well -altho not as plush as some of the other BWPlus I've stayed at. Breakfast was amazing again! Lots of choices and lots of seating. When we checked in they had yummy cookies which was such a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again. I was very pleased!! The staff was helpful and friendly.

    5
« Excellent choice for a place to stay in Tucumcari. »

Clean, modern rooms with quality amenities. Excellent breakfast. Super fast in room wifi. Staff very helpful. Several restaurant choices to eat within walking distance from the hotel. Beautifully landscaped.

    « pleasant stay »

We enjoyed our stay and will return when possible as we travel to different areas of the U.S. to visit family, friends and to see the great many beautiful sites GOD has created for us to enjoy! We would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in this part of the country. Enjoy the great food next door also while in the area.

    5
« Great, Clean and Comfortable »

My #1 priority with a hotel room is cleanliness. This room/hotel met and exceeded my expectations. Comfortable beds; nice and welcoming set up for the room. I would definitely stay here again. Staff is super friendly and knowledgable.

    5
    « Quiet, restful night. »

After driving through hail and rain, Best Western Discovery Inn was a very welcome sight. The room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was a plus. Looking forward to staying again soon.

We have stayed at this location several times & have enjoyed it each time. The breakfast is always very good, the rooms very nice, and staff are pleasant as well as helpful. We will definitely stay at this location again.

« Very clean and newly remodeled »

Love the decor and bed in our king size room.. Only problem the toilets are small and very low. Very handy place to stay with restaurant right next door. Best place to stay in Tucumcari, New Mexico and the new staff and employees are great.

    1
« Very expensive for a loud room »

The people walking above you sounded like they were about to fall through the ceiling. The breakfast are is extremely small. Parking lot is congested. Lady at the front desk did not know how my rewards points were added to my account.

    4
    « Great Breakfast »

Great breakfast, nice large room with coffee maker, Microwave and refrigerator. Made it nice for those late night meetings to warm food. Quite room. Would have loved a Hot Tub though and this one doesn't have one. Bed a little hard for me as I prefer a medium hard bed. Staff was friendly and clean room. Loved the little washcloth duck on the bed.

    5
    « Pet Friendly - Great Parking »

We were traveling we pets and a 20 ft trailer - this Best Western was wonderful - tile floors - pet friendly - great fenced in pet area - and awesome parking - we were able to get in - park and get out with ease... Breakfast was free (always a great value) and tasty... :)

    5
    « ANOTHER GOOD NIGHT »

Best Western mtoels are consistently above average. This one was not an exception. Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and clean. Breakfast better than other chains where I have stayed. Given a choice I will choose Best Western.

    5
    « Just passing through »

Nice clean place to stay. I stay at Best Western frequently and this place is very good. The rooms were very nice and it is located near the interstate. They have a nice restaurant located next door along with many other things near it.

    « Tucuncari »

Helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was good just right for amount and for traveling family. Would recommend this hotel to friends. Side note the town is very intersting. Our room was very nice and comfortable. Somewhat isolated

    5
    « Very Nice »

Checked in a little early nice. Room very clean and front desk was very polite. Directly cross interstate from Saddleback Mesa. 1 block off interstate makes it great. About a mile down to Route 66. Would definitely stay again.

    3
    « Nothing special »

Older Best Western hotel very close to the interstate. Do not get a room on the interstate side, very loud with truck traffic all night. Bed was ok, room was clean. Breakfast was laid out very well, but just typical motel food. Oatmeal was very thin and runny.

« We were part of a 50 vehicle convoy staying at this oasis »

We enjoyed this motel. Checking was wonderful, professional, and warm. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast gave us a great start to our next leg of 200 miles. Thanks Best Western, you did it again! It was a great value.

    « Unexpected upgrade »

We stayed here on our way on Route 66. The rooms seemed to be having a revamp so we must have got an upgrade because of this. So we got a suite overlooking the pool. Very nice stay here and really enjoyed it.

    1
« Great if you don't want any sleep... »

The sound insulation in the suite we stayed in was non-existent. It faces I40 and all night long all we could hear was the large trucks going by - NO SLEEP. This was after a 625 mile trip from Phoenix and the next day was to be the same mileage. We needed a good nights sleep - DIDN'T HAPPEN.

    5
    « Very Convenient »

When traveling on I-40 this hotel is GREAT! The staff is helpful and friendly, the breakfast is good, it's convenient to the freeway and if you are traveling with pets it's one of the best! They have put in a new enclosed pet area and the rooms I have stayed in with my dogs have always had tile....big bonus! There is a restaurant and gas station right next door!

    4
« Reasonably Priced, Clean & Conveniently Located »

No elevator to haul your bags to a second floor room but once you get in the room, it's nice & clean. Located right off I-40 & next to a nice family style restaurant for dinner. Free wifi, good breakfast & friendly staff. Would stay there again!

    5
    « Little things mean a lot. »

My wife used the laundry facilities. The fact that there were two washers and two dryers, of decent size and reasonably priced meant a lot to her and to the other users. It's a large inn and the map we received at check-in proved useful. We had a nice, comfortable king room with our car parked right out front. The hash-brown potatoes at breakfast were especially delicious and the orange juice was very fresh. These plusses we can recall, there were no minuses.

    5
    « 12:20 PM »

we were extremly tired when we arrived. The staff was so gracious and we we a bit hangry. they let us know where to get a good sit down meal and to take care of the obvious. I would highly reccomend this for cross country travelers.

    « #1 Choice »

This was one of the finest BW's I have ever stayed at on a trip. Beautiful Patio with chairs off of every room. Clean and beautiful pool and pool area. Clean rooms with comfy beds and great shower heads with adjustable sprays. Great steakhouse restaurant right across the parking lot. Love this place. I plan on staying here again.

    5

    « Excellent stay »

We were driving to Ohio and stayed here our first night on the road. The hotel staff were pleasant and very helpful. The room was very clean. Should we be spending the night again in Tucumcari, we will be sure to book a room at this hotel.

    5
« Just an Overnight stay »

The rooms were clean it was right on the Highway. Eating was very close and so was Gas. Didn't have time to see the town but it served it's purpose. We would stay again if by chance we needed to. Breakfast was great.

    « Best Western review »

A happy traveler We've stayed at many hotels and the Best Western experience is in the top three lifetime stays. This was a pleasant experience in a 2600 mile drive. I will definitely recommend Best Western to my friends when given the opportunity.

« Fitness center has a rowing machine! »

Helpful, caring staff. Great pool area and the fitness center had a nice bonus for me. My preferred cardio machine is a rower and they had one! Fitness center and pool area were both very clean and well maintained. The rooms could use some updating but they were also very clean. Good location with a nice restaurant right next door.

    3
« Rude front desk, rooms ok »

Upon checking in I felt like a criminal meeting a parole officer. I was NOT welcomed as a Platinum member. I was not welcomed at all. I was offered a snack bag or 500 points. Still waiting on the points. We stayed at 6 Best Westerns on this trip. This was the only one that required a signed credit card slip and provided no statement. All of the ice machines were broken so my husband went to the front desk to get some. Beds ok but we skipped breakfast and ate st McDonalds.

    5
    « Housekeeping »

Housekeeping entered our withou knocking or announcing. My husband inadvertently had the sign on door the incorrect way, but they should've knocked first and announced Housekeeping!! We've stay here 3 times I believe and had a problem on the first visit.

    4
    « Nice for a Pit Stop »

This is a basic motel, so it is not luxurious, but it is very clean and well maintained for an older establishment. They go the extra mile to welcome you by providing freshly baked cookies at check-in and a complimentary hot breakfast. They also sterilize the remote and leave a cute animal made out of a washcloth on your bed.

    1
« "The Three Little Bears" »

Yes someone had been sleeping in my bed. Staff allowed a truck driver to take a nap in our room before we arrived bed made and light was on.We were assigned another room but would not bring us a key he stood at the bottom of the stair yelling up to us "I got your keys" we had to go get them from him at 3:30 AM .Poor customer service and facility needs to be updated.

    2
    « Quiet room. »

Clean, quiet room. Wifi only partially worked (this is pretty common at Best Westerns i have noticed. Stayed at ten different locations across the west the last month and only one worked well, in Ouray, CO). Breakfast was abysmal, raw hash browns and i had to wait in line behind the maid staff for coffee(don't get me wrong, the staff should have coffee but i believe paying customers should have priority).

    4
« Good value for the price »

This hotel has nice, clean rooms and is pet friendly for both dog and cats which is important to us. It also sports a large hearty breakfast with a wide variety of choices. We also liked that it is located right off the interstate.

  • 5
    « Outstanding »

The facility is large, extremely clean, and the beds and rooms are excellent. Many rooms have a small patio overlooking the large pool. The pool is excellent and has a bout divider between the deep and the shallow ends.

    3
    « Tucumcari 2017 »

This hotel could use a lot of updates and upgrades. Its dark brown wood exterior is not very inviting but the location is right off the freeway so easy access on and off. There is a McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken within walking distance and a restaurant next door. A service station is just across the street so all services are close by. There really isn't much to see or do in Tucumcari so extended stay for me was not a consideration.

« Nice motel for the price »

I stayed two nights as part of a state conference, so I didn't choose this motel. It exceeded expectations in all areas except for one. My room was very hot when I checked in at 6 pm. It smelled like mildew. I always travel with room deodorizer, so I sprayed heavily and turned down the a/c, which was off when I checked in. By the time I went to bed the room was cool and smelled less offensive. My room looked like it was in the the middle of a redo. Other rooms had been finished. The beds and pillows were great. The in room coffee was bad, but the breakfast area opened up at 6 am. The staff was helpful and nice. Parking is a problem if you come in late as many trucks with trailers take up multiple spots.

    « Great stay »

Rooms were very clean and well stocked. The beds were made every day and new supplies stocked. There was a coffee maker for making coffee or tea when you needed it, with 4 coffees and 2 tea bags. The water was hot for taking showers. We didn't use the pool, so can not comment on it. They provide a full free breakfast, which was very good, everything was kept hot. There was lots of space to sit.

    « 1 Night stay »

Clean, larger room. Only stayed one night while traveling. Friendly and fast front desk. Internet was slow. Towels were soft and bed was clean and comfortable. Easy access from interstate. We left too early to experience the breakfast.

    « Very nice upgrading »

We stayed at BW's to and from Michigan on our vacation after staying in one in Tulsa, OK. Cancelled bookings with other hotels and rebooked in BW's on the rest of our trip. We give it 5 stars. Very clean, comfortable and in safe and easy-to-get-to locations. Beds were great and rooms very nice size. Very nice upgrade for BW.

    « Surprisingly good »

The staff seemed happy. They were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was a large spread and was very thoughtfully put together. Our regular room was roomy and, again, thoughtfully pulled together. We ate dinner right next door at K-Bob's. That too was a good experience. They have an excellent soup and salad bar, as well as steaks and other options. There were several hotels nearby, but we feel fortunate to have chosen the Best Western Discovery Inn.

« Tucumcari Best Western, New Mexico »

This hotel was the best all the way around. Would stay there again and recommend to anyone. Staff helpful and friendly yet professional. Everything there was great. No complaints at all. Breakfast was great and breakfast room was very clean and homey. Service was very good. Friendly desk staff and very helpful. I left an item at hotel and I called while on the road. Staff found item, notified me and sent the item to my next destination in Arizona. Received item with in 4 days.

    « Mid-Point on Route 66 »

Best Western Discovery Inn at Tucumcari NM was our 7th hotel on the Route 66 road trip from Chicago to Santa Monica. We had just come through Adrian Tx which is the exact mid-point so it seemed fitting that our next hotel was the middle of the 13 hotels we were staying in on the trip. This was the last of four straight one night stopovers and we were becoming grateful for the swimming pools at the hotels. The pool at Discovery Inn was really welcoming as it gave us the opportunity to relax and cool off during the unseasonable heatwave being experience. We were certainly not expecting outside temperatures in the 120F range during early June. The welcome by the reception staff was warm and they made us chuckle saying that our room is close enough that we would not have to drive to breakfast. It was less than 100m, doesn't anyone ever walk anywhere in America? The complimentary breakfast was just great as there was something for everyone. I still have to say that I do prefer traditional hotels over the Motel type arrangements, but that could just be an English thing.

    « Good Value »

This motel was a little dated but very clean and comfortable. I thought it was a good value. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. It was a right off the highway and convenient to restaurants and gas stations.

« My observation at Tucumcari BW. »

The check in staff did not even acknowledge my elite membership. Located on the interstate highway in a cluster of motels, not competitive. The hotel appears to have added some new wings which appeared to be less old than the wing we stayed in.

    5
    « A decent nice rest »

Loved this pet friendly hotel. Originally had booked with a hotel across the way only to be found out that it was not pet friendly. Went to this Best Western and they had pet rooms available on the 1st floor. Gave doggie treat bags. Breakfast was a good mix. Location was quiet, could not hear the traffic from the interstate (although it was very close).

    5
    « Great experience »

Our family had a great experience at this hotel - clean rooms, good service and the complimentary breakfast was very good, with a wide selection. If you're traveling through Tucumcari, this hotel would be a good selection.

    5
    « Great stay! »

This was a perfect hotel for a night. Great pool, great breakfast. Decent price once you factor in the breakfast. Restaurant within walking distance. Doors to the rooms do open to the outside unlike any other BW that I've ever stayed in where the doors open to the inside of the hotel (hallway). Not my favorite thing, but didn't impede our stay.

« Paper thin walls and a terrible breakfast »

At check in I had two men behind the counter do little more than scowl at me. No "Hello" with a smile, just a stare and "Can I help you". The walls are paper thin so the casual conversation in the next room was easily heard. The breakfast was without question the worst breakfast I've ever had. When we arrived for breakfast there were no forks (which didn't really matter because...), no eggs, no gravy, no waffle batter, the sausages were soaking in a deep pool of grease. What we were able to scrounge up made all of us feel sick. Definitely not worth the few dollars I saved to stay there.

    4
« Good but not great »

We enjoyed our stay here. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Except for the scrambled eggs, the breakfast was very good with several fresh fruit options. It lacks hallways and an elevator, however, and at $122/night was not a good value.

    5
    « Great place!! »

The hotel itself is located in a great location around lots of stuff. The pool is beautiful. The breakfast is unbelievable! It was restaurant quality. The choices were amazing! We were very impressed!

    3
    « Family trip »

Stayed 1 night. Even as a BW member I think it was still too expensive but the room was nice and so was the pool. Everyone was nice and the room was clean. Not much around to eat at but there are options.

    5
    « Really nice hotel. »

Great view, nice outdoor pool, clean, friendly, overall near perfect! My kids had a blast in the pool. Breakfast was filling and consistently being attended to. Cookies at the front desk! Desk managers were genuinely friendly and helpful.

    5
    « very nice staff »

We arrived late on July 2 after a long drive and were delighted in how we were received by the lady at the front desk. She helped with my sitting in the lobby while i searched for needed materials in my bag. The room was LARGE, well appointed, and spotless on the first floor. We enjoyed staying there and had just what we needed for a comfortable pause on a cross country drive.

« Good stay at Best Western in Tucumcari! »

It appeared to be an older motel, but the rooms were large, bed was comfortable and it was all very clean. The bathrooms appeared to have been renovated and were in very nice condition. The breakfast was very good and well managed!

    « Improved in past 9 months. »

My last review of this hotel was September of 2016. I gave it an average rating then and must say they have improved. First of all the price was much better at $91 with tax. That was down $15 from 9 months ago. The GM was correct you do get a better rate when booking in advance. The rooms are really comfortable for an overnight stay. Might even be good for a couple of days stay. The breakfast room, staff and food is top-notch. I will be back and hope to be able to give it an excellent rating next time but that might be tough. Even if they are price competitive I still feel an excellent rating will come when it cost me less than $90 with tax to stay there. Only $2 away.

    « A very pleasant stay »

We stayed here on 28 May and 14 June and we really like this Hotel. We were a bit disappointed when we arrived on the 14th of June to find they reservation did not include our request of the 28th of May for a King Size ground floor room. However after having the experience the previous night of having our reservation lost in Flagstaff, we were glad to receive a room with two queen beds on the ground floor. Overall a clean, comfortable stay.

    5
    « Wonderful stay »

Surprising little gem along the highway. Even though we were passing through, it had everything needed for a good night's rest and a good start to the next day. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable. They even had tortillas and a great green chile salsa added to the breakfast choices.

    5
    « Exceeded Expectations »

Wow what a nice surprise. I picked this hotel because we were traveling with a cat and iBest Western is one of the few chains that accept cats. From the nice staff at the front desk (cookies there in the afternoon), to the housekeeping ( even a rubber ducky towel animal in our spotless room), finishing off with the huge free breakfast (eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pastries, waffles, yogurt machine!)- it was all we could ask for.

    5
    « Nice stay »

Clean, covienent, friendly and well priced. What more could we want as we travel. Not the most modern accommodations but certainly suitable for a night or two. Nice pool and enough AC to overcome the 110 degree day.

    5
« I can highly recommend this BW »

We stayed 3 days and found the staff very pleasant. The "Guest Cookies" were really good. The rooms looked "new" and the room was very clean, as was the pool area ( but too cold to go swimming). The Breakfast was the best of any of the BW's I have stayed at and that includes the one in Key West ( which was really good too). We will be back in Tucumcari for Christmas ( we have family there) and plan to stay a week next time.

    5
« Great place to stay »

Our room was clean and comfortable. Right off of I-40. There is a steak house next to the hotel and fast food nearby. The free breakfast is excellent with sausage, eggs, waffles, pastries, etc. Staff was friendly, efficient, and helpful. A very good value.

    5
    « Great breakfast »

We loved the size of the room and the arrangement. Wonderful breakfast with good selection of foods. Courteous staff. The hotel is easy to get to from the Interstate and is close to several fast food restaurants.

    5
« Must stay when in Tucumcari »

Best bang for your buck. From check in to check out felt like a valued guest. The room was comfortable and clean. Bed was plush and linens were clean and fresh. Great staff and great breakfast. Loved the waffle and the chocolate milk. Thanks

« Best motel of my 31-day excursion »

The check-in lady was VERY helpful, and seemed truly interested in helping me and other people checking in. There were several people checking in, and she took the time to treat everyone with respect in spite of the late hour(10:00PM). She mentioned the complimentary cookies to us.

    3
« Good Place to Stay »

Check-in was smooth and easy (no reservation prior to stopping). There was ample room in the room we were given. The decor was okay and the king size bed was comfortable. There was ample room in the bathroom. A nice surprise was the bathroom had a shelf the length of the bathroom wall that was great for placing clean clothes and other personal hygiene products. The breakfast was not as good as other Best Western hotels. The gravy for biscuits was very plain and for the most part tasteless. The cheese omelet is something I should have avoided (poor quality). Overall an average stay.

    5
« Great service and Comfortable stay »

You can easily spot it off the freeway and parking is good. The room is really clean and they always provide you with extra towels. Plus, free breakfast and WiFI is always a big plus for me. I would definitely stay her again when visiting the family.

    3
    « Good Location »

This hotel, located right next to I-40, is fairly quiet if you are not in rooms 119-122 or 219-222. The noise from the freeway is somewhat drowned out by the noise of the air conditioner. Otherwise, the room was slightly smaller but adequate for a nights stay, clean with nicely updated decor, Breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices and good seating.

    5
    « Great Night Stay! »

Have stayed at the Best Western Discovery Inn in Tucumcari NM many times, and have always found great rooms and a caring staff. Great breakfasts for the hungry travelers and very comfortable beds for a good night sleep. Good location, right next to the Hwy and gas station, restaurant nearby.

    4
    « Great stop over »

Room was very comfortable, clean and convenient to a restaurant. The motel offered a hot breakfast with several choices. I would recommend this motel to my friends and family for staying when in the area. We would stay here again.

    4
    « Best western Tucumcari »

Nice hotel walking distance to a steakhouse.Very easy on and off the freeway.Drove to dinner to Dels restaurant and it was very good with a salad bar included.Best Western had three different types of cookies and were excellent.

    4
    « Typical Hotel »

Hotel was as expected. Only issues were the fact that the pool was closed with no notice (we were hoping for a pool, one of the criteria we selected the hotel). Weren't even told the pool was closed at check in. Other than that, the hotel, service, room, breakfast, etc. were as expected.

    3
    « Sad Breakfast »

Breakfast room was tiny with only a few tables. Went in twice, but could not find a seat. Also, coffee pump pot was filled with grounds. My wife and I gave up on the breakfast and stopped down the road.

    5
    « Would stay again »

This Best Western Discovery Inn is easily accessible from the interstate, has plenty of parking and is well lighted, close to dining and gas stations, reasonable rate, friendly staff, good breakfast. Quiet and clean.

« Great place to stop »

From the staff to the room this was a good property! One of the best things about best Western is the way they make customers feel and this one wasn't an exception. The staff was courteous and the room was clean and well appointed.

    5
    « Very good! »

The hotel was very nice. Staff was very friendly, room was clean. The breakfast was good too. There was plenty to pick from. A steakhouse is located on the parking lot of the hotel. They also give you discount when you stay in the hotel.

« Nice room, caution if you have pets »

Nice large clean room. Had a box around the bed frame but freight ended pets could get into the box between the box spring and box. Had to lift the box spring to get at our pet. Room next door had same problem.

    5
« Stay here and you will not be sorry »

Great staff and facilities. Plenty of eating places in the area. Worth the money. Everyone was very helpful and the room was very clean and updated. I stay in hotels about 300 nights a year and this is one I will return to again and again

    4
« A Good Location and Pleasant Stay »

We stayed at the Best Western Discovery on a recent trip across the country. The hotel is well situated just off I-40 with easy exit and return. The hotel and our room were very well maintained, neat, and clean. The staff was warm and friendly and were very efficient with our check in and check out. The breakfast bar in the morning was well stocked with a good assortment of breakfast items (both hot and cold). A good place to stay if you are in this part of New Mexico and need a warm and friendly stop.

    4
    « Hotel Very Nice »

The hotel was very nice and comfortable. The room was nicely decorated and the WiFi and television was very good. The service and staff very helpful. Had a nice balcony as we were on second floor. several restaurants near by.

    5
    « Good Choice »

Even for being near a freeway, the room was quiet; beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with a lot of selections. Parking was a problem due to my mother having recent hip surgery due to a crafts fair being in tow, but it was manageable. Will definitely stay again.

    5
    « Snowbirds heading home »

This Best Western is really a nice place. Rooms were so clean and updated. Easy access from highway and located close to restaurants. Staff courteous and friendly. PET FRIENDLY! Serves a nice breakfast.

    « Had a good night stay »

We usually stay at a Best Western when we're traveling so stayed here on our trip. We were a little disappointed when we found out we had outside entrance to our hotel room. We didn't know that when we made our reservation. But it made up for it when they recommended the restaurant next door to get some food. We had a great experience there and great food and large selection.

« Pet friendly actually meant All Cats and Dogs »

Very accomadating , rooms and service excellent . I have had problems with other motels not accepting a Cat. This was no problem, with and extra ten$ This was my third stay and I Will diffently stay here again.

    « Decent »

We stayed here for one night on the way home and it wasn't anything special but it wasn't bad. The bed was comfortable. The walls are definitely thin as I could hear the man in the next room snoring up a storm. He sure had a good nights sleep! It didn't bother me though. I fell asleep pretty easily.

    5
    « Glad We Returned »

Our second stay was terrific. This hotel is conveniently located near I-40. There is ample, well-lit parking. Our clean, spacious room had a fridge, microwave and great HDTV. The hot breakfast is as good as you'll find at a BW location. Donna, the hotel manager, delivered on a promise she made to us earlier this year. She was professional, friendly and courteous through all our communications. The Discovery Inn is definitely on our Best Western radar.

    4
« Nice place to stay in Tucumcari »

This hotel was clean and everything was in good condition. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast hours fit our needs very well and the items offered were varied and fresh. We especially liked having fruit and yogurt available.

    « Tucumcari Best Western »

« Nice place to lay your head »

Best Western in Tucumcari NM is a very nice place to stay the staff at the front desk are very nice and polite. The rooms are clean and the breakfast are very good for a hotel. They have microwaves and refrigerators which is nice when you have to stay for a period of time. And fast food and restaurant are within walking distance

    « Good hotel »

We stayed here for one night whilst travelling route 66. Room had everything we needed. Front desk staff very helpful with recommendations for dinner and tourist attractions locally. Fresh baked cookies on check in were very welcome.

« Best Western Discovery Inn »

The room was nice but we need the room colder than the air conditioner would go. Air was limited to minimum of 68. Breakfast was good. I would stay there again. I appreciate having coffee, frig and microwave in room even if there is breakfast available.

    5
    « Nice Place »

I spent total of 3 days while traveling across country to visit family, found it very relaxing and conventient for handicap person like myself. Many choices in restaunts close by. Good launtry facility on site also.

    « B W Discovery Inn »

There was no refrigerator in our room. We had ice packs that needed freezing for medications. There was no specific area for the pets to relive themselves. Previous pet owners did not pick up after there animals. Cleanliness of rooms were average.

    « Nice facility »

I stayed at this motel twice during my two week trip around Missouri and Arkansas. The hotel is well maintained, and very clean, the breakfast is good, and well presented, and clean. The internet was down the second time I visited, but not a real problem. The steakhouse next door has decent food and the service is good (see separate review of 'K-Bob's)

    4
« Nice Hotel, Fair Price »

Hotel room was very clean, personnel very friendly and specially nice lady at the breakfast buffet. Prices good, location good for traveling thru to Texas. Will definitely stop by again on our way to Las Vegas.

« Great stay, and very comfortable beds! »

A lovely, quiet stay despite being right off Interstate 40. Great staff, Easy to get in and out. All the amenities you might expect in a quality hotel. Free password access wi-fi, cable TV, USB charging station, iron, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave, and the best feature: comfortable beds with plenty of pillows. The morning hot breakfast which comes with the room charge made the stay all it needed to be. Restful and stress-free.

    5
« Best place to stay »

The Best Western in Tucumcari , New Mexico is the best place to stay there. The access from the interstate is very convenient. The room rate is reasonable. The breakfast is more than sufficient. The K Bob Steakhouse is a good option for dinner. My husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times on our way from Emporia, Kansas to Phoenix, Arizona.

    4
    « our stay »

The BW we stayed in Tucumcari NM was comfortable, affordable and had all of the usual, internet & breakfast in the morning. our only negative is that we had a room facing the back and that it was along the highway. We heard highway traffic all night. We would know to book a room facing the front next time.

    4
    « Near the interstate »

Best Western near the interstate, very convenient. The room was clean, the staff was friendly. The complimentary breakfast was okay, but the room seemed crowded. We did receive a military discount which was appreciated. We prefer Best Westerns, so I would stay here again.

    5
« Nice place to stay »

This was our second stay at this Best Western. This stay was better than our first stay. I booked an ADA room and was very pleased with it except it did not have a fridge. The room was very inviting upon arrival. The info book, remote and what appeared to be a duck made out of a wash cloth or towel were on the bed. Nice ADA bathroom. The only negative was the limited channel selections on the TV. We have never had so few channels available. The lobby area and breakfast area were big and nicely decorated. Breakfast was the typical Best Western breakfast with some different options. Hash browns instead of potato patties. A chili sauce that looked and smelled absolutely delicious was available but didn't notice it until another guest commented on it and said how good it was. Wish I had tried it before filling up on everything else. All the staff were very friendly except the front desk person when checking in. Just seemed to be going thru the motions to get us checked in. The lady who helped mt at check out was so nice and friendly. Loved having K Bob's right across the parking lot. Good place to eat without having to drive after being on the road all day. Easy freeway off and on. Had no noise from freeway. Our room faced K Bob's. Nice stay overall and will stay here again if in the area.

    « Great stay & WONDERFUL staff »

We spent one night during a return road trip back to the West Coast. Picked this place because it was located at the intersection of Hwy 54 and I-40 and we had previous good experiences staying at Best Western. Pulled in after a long day of driving and were very pleased with the lobby cleanliness and ambiance. A beautiful collection of woven baskets hang above the front desk and the side lobby was hung with vintage Route 66 signs. Laura checked us in and was very friendly and accommodating. When we asked about dinner options, she recommended Del's. It was terrific, an iconic dinner house on old Route 66 with great New Mexico food. Our room was spacious, clean, and pretty quiet. Breakfast the next morning was good and the staff was very attentive. Overall a good experience. However, the best part came once we were home and discovered we had left our laptop somewhere!!! We called and spoke with Denise who expressed concern and promised a thorough search of our room. Sure enough, she called us with the good news that it had been found! She handed us off to Donna, the general manager, who made arrangements to ship it to us AT NO COST TO US! What a wonderful, professional, and just down-right nice group of people. We definitely would stay here again and encourage anyone travelling through Tucumcari to do the same. Happy trails :-)

    « Nice relaxing Stay »

Walked into the room reminded me of a cruse ship with Towels folded like animals. Very clean and comfortable beds. Bathroom shower was refreshing slept soundly. Went for breakfast and truly enjoyed the selections. Had scrambled eggs, sausage, toast juice and yogurt. Coffee was fresh and hot wife had Waffles. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere as well. There were still more choices of food and fruits. Highly recommend for starting the day.

    « tucumcari stay »

Great location and large rooms. We were surprised that we were put on the second floor with no elevator since we are older retired people. K-Bob`s was just across the parking lot which we liked very much. We could have a glass of wine without worrying about driving.

  • 1
    « Extra charges »

My handicapped husband and I were charged an extra $5 for needing a room on the first floor. The hotel has no elevators and he can't manage stairs. On top of that we were charged an additional $5 because the room had 2 beds, even though we did not need a second one. We will never stay here again! We have never had a problem with a Best Western before and are left wondering if this is their new policy.

    5
« stay at best western »

this hotel is a great place to stop and stay. its clean and comfortable. the staff is great the breakfast was good and plentiful. ample parking for both cars and trucks the restaurant next door called k bobs is a great place to eat. the food is very good. you get what you pay for at this best western

    4
    « Easy Access »

The property is an easy off and on to I-40. The property is an older style with outside entrances to room and no elevator. It was clean and well maintained with a friendly staff. Hashbrown potatoes were a nice touch at breakfast. A K-BOB Steakhouse is located next to the property. The room rate seemed a little pricey, but with Tucumcari being part of the "Route 66" experience I suppose that's to be expected.

    3
    « Clean but pricey. »

This hotel is located in a town where this is nothing but a few fast food joints open. The hotel was clean and had a syeak restaurant on site . It is priced high for being located in a small lonely town.

    3
    « Comfortable but Pricey »

This Is an older hotel (at least it appears that way) and has limited parking. Our room was in the back, (which is actually close to the highway) with no parking on that side of the building. The only thing between you and the highway is a fence and maybe 50 yards. The room itself was comfortable and very clean the breakfast was very good but overall not worth over $100. I would be very pleased if it was $80, not over $100.

    4
« No Hot Water to wash with in the shower. »

We drove 800 miles that day and the room we were given had NO HOT WATER. I told my wife we will check it in the morning and it was still COLD. I informed the front desk all they said they could do is turn in a work order to have it looked in to.

    5
    « Best Western Experience »

I stay at this Hotel frequently and the staff is always friendly and helpful and rooms are always well kept. The breakfast has a large selection to choose from and is always well stocked and they also have a New Mexican style chile with potatoes that you have to try!

    2
« Oh well???It could have been worse, I guess »

The GOOD stuff first: The bed was stellar ? we slept great! Our room was clean and although the bathroom was small, it was clean. The towels were some of the best we've ever found in a hotel -- kind of out-of-place and much nicer than you would expect to find in this hotel. However, the wash cloths were very thin. The Internet worked fine and we appreciated the desk/table with 2 chairs so we could both use our laptops. Also, we wanted to mention how polite, professional and helpful Savanna was with us during check-in. Now, the BAD stuff: This hotel is JUST PLAIN OLD-LOOKING. It's more like a motel ? with outside corridors ? which gives pause to the safety element. Although AAA rates this hotel as a 3-diamond, we thought it was more like a 2-diamond. This hotel is right off the freeway ? which made it noisy with traffic noise ? especially the trucks ? but it did not keep us awake. The lighting in the bathroom was great, but the rest of the room was difficult to make light enuf for us. Also this room (#119) was kind of ?buried? underneath a deck, receiving very little outside light. Also, it's right on the corridor, so you couldn't open the curtains much. Most disappointing of all, the price was terrible. Maybe travelers should think twice about staying in the brand-name hotels in Tucumcari, giving the small motels on Historic Route 66 a look -- it could be a better price/value for their money.

    3
    « It is next to K-Bob's »

We stayed at Tucumcari because it was late and we had driven most of the day. There were several choices of hotels at the I40 exit and because we have generally had good experiences at Best Westerns and it was next to K-Bob's we chose this hotel. BE ADVISED: It is the only time in the US I have found a low to the floor toilet in a hotel. If you require a standard height toilet, you must ask for a ADA compliant room.

    « Good Clean Hotel »

I had a very positive experience staying here. I did travel with cats and one did manage to find a hiding place under the bed within the frame so just be aware of this if you have a cat that likes to hide. The people were very helpful getting my cat out from under the bed. It is a clean hotel and the people are very nice.

« Bring your cleaning supplies »

This location is outdated and not being maintained well. I was brought some cleaning supplies to clean the hair out of the tub myself. There was so much hair, I checked under the bath mat placed on the side of the tub and was not surprised to find more hair there. The "clean" remote had debris on it but was still placed in the small box that announces it is an easy to clean remote. Not easy enough I guess. I received a partial refund. Parking is not always available directly in front of the room you are assigned or even in front of that wing on the motel. Some staff were friendly and some were not.

    « Good Information »

Very nice motel. Staff was excellent. Bed not as comfortable as some of BW other motels. (I'm Spoiled, I have a brigs mattress at home). Service during breakfast was excellent. Parking was good and grounds were clean. Pool was nice.

    « Patio, Best breasfast »

Clean, good sized room, nice pool, personal patio. The hot breakfast was the best we have had on a 3 week road trip. Lots of hot and cold choices, all fresh, including fresh cut up fruit (strawberries and melon). Good value and convenient.

    « Stay Clear »

This was an awful stop followed by another BW in Flagstaff AZ as we drove to CA. I was never so disappointed, both hotels are at best two star and should be no more than 70.00 per night!! Our bathrooms were not particularly clean, the mattress were worn, soft and lumpy, we tossed all night. The air conditioners sounded like jets and road traffic was bad. We would NEVER stay at either of these facilities again,

    4
    « Nice and clean »

I was a little frustrated when we arrived and were told that check in was at three and there was no early check in. We looked around the town to check out the famous wall murals. When I went back to look at the BW web site I saw check in time was 2. I brought it to the desk clerks attention and she apologized and gave us a reduced rate. The rooms were clean as was the pool

« Great Location and Hotel »

Return guests to this location....always very satisfied with cleanliness and comfy bed. This was our first road trip with Sadie, our sweetheat lab. Very accomodating and loved the pet treat for her. Nice restaurant - K-Bob's next door for dinner. We'll be back through again on the next road trip west!

« One of the better places to stay in Tucumcari »

Rooms were spacious and attractive, bed comfortable, bathroom spacious, some rooms with an outdoor sitting area. Once isn't; cleanliness excellent! Appeared to be recently remodeled. Pictures on trip advisor are dated, decor has been changed and apparently upgraded. The faculty was well-maintained and it was clear maintenance was ongoing. The pool was very clean and attractive. The breakfast was generous and the eating area clean and attractive. Opportunities for improvement, take the ice machines out of the eating area and install elevators. Also smoking is allowed on premises and the smoke from the outdoor areas on the balconies drifts to non-smoking areas.

« Great Stay for the Value! »

Our room was clean, huge, and comfortable. Shower pressure was awesome. The bed could have been a little more comfortable, but we still slept just fine. The front desk suggested a wonderful restaurant in town. Breakfast was great, too. Plenty of options!

    5
    « Great Hotel »

This was a great hotel in a small town. The staff was all friendly. There was a great restaurant right across the parking lot. Breakfast at the hotel was really good, they even had biscuits and gravy.

    4
    « Positively surprised! »

Motel style rooms with doors directly from the outside. Quiet despite being right next to the highway. The room was very spacious and very clean. Beds and pillows very comfortable. AC and wifi worked well. The outdoor pool was perfect on a hot day. The free breakfast buffet was your typical American hotel selection - weird pre-cooked scrambled eggs, sausages, gravy, biscuits, salsa. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, waffles, selection of breads for toasting. Breakfast is rather early though - 6-9am. There is a coin operated washer and dryer which was great. Only disappointment was that our room did not have a fridge - they offered to move us to another room but we decided it wasn't worth it for one night. Overall we were happy.

« Not Bad for Traveling Through »

Needed a place to spend the night while traveling through New Mexico. The room was clean and the staff was nice. The room to our door opened to the parking lot, which was convenient for my mother who cannot walk far, but when doors open directly to the parking lot, I always get worried about noise at night. Luckily, the night was relatively quiet. The breakfast was pretty good for a free motel breakfast. We needed a refrigerator in the room for my mother's medication, but there are no refrigerators. There is a space for one in the TV cabinet, but nothing there but an empty space, so we kept her medication near the air conditioner. Not a bad place to spend one night when you're traveling through New Mexico.

    « good stop »

nice hotel. close to interstate. friendly and helpful staff. updating the paint while we there, nice to see the upkeep and the paint staff were careful not to be an inconvenience. place was clean and well kept. love the drive up rooms-great for quick in and out stay.

    5
    « Clean »

We got a king bed and the place was impressive. Great decor, but most of all it was clean! A/C was nice and cold. The breakfast in the morning (free buffet) had more than enough to choose from to fit anyone's diet. Great place!

    3
« Do not like frogs »

I think that the staff needs to exterminate the hotel there are bugs in the surrounding areas parking lot. There were frogs in the corridor and near my hotel door. I was not as pleasant stay as the previous hotel I stayed in Tennessee which was another best Western and it was an amazing experience.

    4
    « A well-run property ... »

... with spacious rooms. It IS a long walk to the room where they have secured the only ice machines. I was impressed that the air conditioners are set to insure a cool room WHEN YOU GET THERE. The location is right next to Interstate 40, and a number of fast-food options are nearby.

    5
« Nice hotel, comfortable beds »

We stopped over traveling from AZ to MN. Beds were comfortable. We were happy to have a refrigerator in our room as my husband is a diabetic and we could refrigerate the insulin and also the fruit we brought with us. Very comfortable beds and the shower was great.

    3
    « Just OK »

A good stopping point on a road trip for a night or two but wouldn't want to spend any amount of time there. Rooms are clean and spacious but the property is old and showing its age. Breakfast was ok and the beds were comfy. So all and all a good experience. Not all rooms have a refrigerator so make sure you ask for one at check in.

    4
« Great hotel and great value »

This hotel is half way from my Kansas City to Phoenix trips. I have been staying at this hotel for over 20 plus years and have never had a problem. This is a very progressive hotel, always updating their facilities and adding new services. The staff has always provided for me with any request I have had. I highly recommend this hotel, on my last stay the hotel was fully booked when I checked out.

    4
    « Very good! »

Spent a night in this place. Honestly was expecting something pretty average according to reviews. Was pleasantly surprised! Well over my expectations! Stuff was very welcoming, warm and friendly. Room was clean and up to date. Had some extras. Gym was good. Pool was outside so there were lots of bugs in it but it was 8ft deep! Breakfast was good as well. Overall enjoyed my stay.

    5
« It is an all around winner »

This hotel is perfectly located off of I-40, it is clean, well kept, modern, and did I mention clean. Comfortable beds good value for your money. Nice sized rooms. Very nice breakfast, good coffee, polite breakfast staff. It is really a nice hotel we enjoyed it so much we stayed there on our way out and on our way back home, plenty of parking if you are towing an RV or large trailers.

    « Luxury Stay »

My wife and I stayed at this motel on our way to her 50th reunion in Illinois. We found it really luxurious from our experiences staying in motels. Very nice spacious accommodations, with every amenity needed. The wi-fi was an easy hookup and fast. Excellent eateries including restaurants and fast food establishments were within a block of the motel, which was a within sight of the freeway. A recommended place to stay.

    3
    « No Hot Water »

No hot water in the shower. Hard to enjoy the stay after a long road trip, and then run out of hot water. Everything else was just fine. It a nice place to stay if you need to, but there are other options nearby.

    3
« Older Looking Hotel but had a good experience »

I spent one night there with my family. The room was stark but functional. The breakfast was what you would expect to find at a Best Western. The pool was terrific. My three children swam and had a great time. This is a great place to stay for one night. The price is reasonable. There appear to be two newer hotels close by (Holiday Inn and La Quinta) and you should consider those as well(I do not know how their prices compare to Best Western). I would stay here again for one night.

    5
    « A Gem in the Desert »

This hotel has it all - clean, comfortable, beautiful rooms, lovely pool, and wonderful staff. I wish I needed to be in New Mexico more often, as this was a very pleasant place to stay and also convenient.

    1
« No room at the Inn »

An unplanned road trip took me to Texas. Being a Diamond in Best Western, I stay there as often as possible. The Tucumcari BW was my fourth stop trying to find a room, with the same results, no rooms. I am happy that my favorite chain is busy but I was infuriated when the desk clerk's response to my relaying this as my 4th stop was "Great for us, sucks for you" as he turned and walked back into the office. A shame one extremely unprofessional employee can scar the entire chain.

    4
    « good hotel »

all went fine.room was large, cleanbeds comfortable.they have outdoor swimming pool which we did not use.big drawback is no mini fridge or microwave in the room.also price was little high,we used to stay in nicer places for less, but oh well..

    3
« Close to interstate highway, but not as noisy as expected »

We spent the night when travelling through New Mexico with a pet. The hotel charged a $10 pet charge in addition to the cost of the room. I was concerned about the location of the room, on the back of the building, close to a busy interstate highway. However, the highway noise was not noticeable in the room and didn't impact our experience. The hotel has been updated and has nice curb appeal. Room, 144, is for disabled travelers and has a large bathroom. The room was adequate and the bed was soft. Breakfast was what we expected with this class of motel. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance of the Best Western.

    5
« Returned for another stay over »

Same as before, great rooms, with super friendly Staff. The free breakfast is one of the best. The grounds are neat and kept up. Peaceful night's sleep. No wierdos or crazies on the grounds. This is our regular stay on regular trips to Texas.

    5
    « Pleasant experience »

Very good place to stay with pet. We had a nice room with an enclosed patio. Small frig and micro. Convenient walking area for walking pets. Staff and housekeeping very friendly. A very nice breakfast. Air conditioning worked very well. Reasonable rates.

    5
    « Saved again! »

Lovely hotel, breakfast was good and had a wide variety of choices. If you are traveling with a pet, this is a perfect place. No dog smell, no stinky carpets, sliding door and ease to potty or walk your pet. The front desk manager was super great (Joe).

    « Wonderful! »

Family of 5 spent a wonderful week here. There was plenty of room, great beds and good quality towels, refrigerator but no microwave, a/c worked perfectly and QUIETLY and the staff was friendliest I have seen at a motel.

    2
    « Meh »

OK, by minimal standards. Just a bit grossed out. Not just the cleanliness (used floss pick left in a chair in the room upon check-in), but the general attention to detail. Is it really necessary to have deliveries through the breakfast area during breakfast? Witnessed more than one senior with limited mobility have to make accommodations for the delivery person . . . at 7:00 in the morning ?! Thanks, but no thanks. Can find better.

    3
« Clean, comfortable, but loud »

The only negative I have about this place is that our room on the ground floor was extremely noisy, due to our ability to hear every step taken by the people in the room above us (and there were LOTS of steps taken). Although this isn't the fault of the motel, it is basic (inexpensive) construction which allows for sounds to carry so much. The bedding was fine, AC worked ok. Room was small for the price.

    3
« Ok Place to overnight. »

There is nothing particularly bad or good about this Best Western. The room was reasonably clean and comfortable although somewhat dark (which may be ok depending upon your preference). I recommend a 2d floor room because in our first floor room, we could here the upstairs guest walking about (which oddly started about 4:00 a.m.). The free breakfast was typical for type of motel.

    3
« Vintage motel, Very good breakfast, hard bed, no elevators »

60-70 style motel. Greeting: no smile, scripted, board. I had to stop him mid stream to tell him we had a reservation. He asked 3 times if we had a pet. Beside an extra charge for a pet, if we did, I believe their practice is to assign the first floor rooms to those with pets. There are no elevators to the second floor rooms, this may be difficult for some. The bed was hard and pillows very soft to me, so took me a while to fall asleep. Room, except for sticky carpet, and refrigerator were clean, Wifi worked fine. Turned off the A/C, too loud. Breakfast very good: loved the build your own oatmeal choices, 2 egg choices, sausage, hashbrowns, biscuits/breads/muffins, excellent fruit selections even grapefruit halves, waffles, yogert, large variety of beverages. Easy access from Hwy 40. Gas and restaurants in close proximity. OK for quick stay.

    « Best western stay »

We drive between Mesa AZ and St Paul MN in the fall and the spring. We stay at Best Westerns because the hotels are always clean and quiet no mater what state it is in. They are also in every state and city.

    5
« Good value for the money, large rooms »

CLEAN, that is very important to me. The queen beds were great. Got a roll away as well. The hotel is an older one, so the bathroom was small, but why is a big one necessary in a place you are sleeping in for one night? The room was fresh. Undergoing renovation. We were on the interstate side, but were not bothered by noise. The folks at the front desk were super nice. And they had cookies for all. Breakfast was good, but I don't care for flavored oatmeal. There was a large variety of food there.

    5
« Excellent value and pet friendly »

We were travelling thru the area on our way to Georgia. It was time to stop for the night for dinner and rest, so we looked up a pet friendly Best Western in our AAA "travelling with pets" directory book. This motel is clean, reasonably priced, and handy to main roads and restaurants. We enjoyed a good night's rest and the breakfast buffet. Best Western is our favorite motel chain when we travel.

Best Western had the cleanest rooms I have ever been in for hotels. Excellent service and all staff was vey friendly. They gave us recommendations where to eat and where the places were located. We have stayed here multiple times with a large group and the service is fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Tucumcari, New Mexico. There are a variety of eating establishments near the hotel along with several gas stations.

« just average because of room location »

I used a coupon for this Best Western. It was a good price, but sometimes you get what you pay for. The coupon rate was only good for the second level, which faced the interstate, therefore, quite noisy. Room was clean and quite nice. so I guess you can't have it all. Wifi was non-existent. Had alot of trouble trying to connect. Breakfast was ok.

    « Great Place »

Very clean, newly up dated. Nice room very comfortable bead. great hot breakfast and coffee. High speed internet, HPO, ESPN, cable TV. Great meeting room. Friendly staff .Exercise Room, clean swimming pool, pet friendly . Restaurant and bar next-door. Truck parking.

    « Good Cross-Country Stop »

This fairly new facility is right on I-40 and a convenient stop for cross-country travelers. It well maintained and clean with a well-lit parking lot and a good full hot breakfast. It is near gas stations and fast good restaurants, but if you're not too tired it's worth driving a couple of miles north to see the old section of Route 66. This is one of the longest preserved streaches there is.

    3
    « Meh »

It was comfortable and seemed clean. There was a breakfast bar in the morning and it was good. There was a nice selection and it was kid friendly. The grounds were not very well kept and didn't inspire the greatest sense of safety. The staff was nice enough. There was nothing great and nothing terrible. It was a decent place to stay over night.

    3
    « Cross Country traveler »

Wife and I were traveling cross country ..so we never knew where we were going to stay the night. This hotel was right off the freeway and easy off and on. Although the room had been re-modeled you could see daylight around the door . Also , I thought 112.00 including taxes was to much to pay . Very good breakfast.

    5
    « Albuquerque Trip »

Excellent, Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The breakfast was good and hot. Hotel was biker friendly and allowed us to park under the front covered area, very nice since it was raining. Only negative is no fridge in the room.

    4
    « Try Tucumcari »

After a long day of driving we enjoyed our rest over in Tucumcari's Best Western. To our relief, the motel was very accessible from I-40. The property was good and as a bonus it is located right next to a great steak house (with bar) and a good gas station. Would certainly recommend stopping here.

« Good hotel Pool is seasonal (not mentioned) »

This hotel was very nice. The only problem I had was the fact that I specifically booked this hotel due to the property having a pool. Online it did not specify that it was seasonal. So after a very long stretch in the car thinking of relaxing in the pool ... dreams crushed!

    5
    « Nice stay »

nice hotel room, nothing bad to say about it. Will suggest ceiling fan and need more trash cans. And the new light bulbs are not very bright, we read a lot so they were nice enuf to bring us a 100 watt bulb which helped a lot.

    4
« pool cosed but comfortable big rooms »

good but pool was outside and closed. We only stopped at this location to go swimming and found out later the pool wasn't even open for the season. The rooms are Nice and big. Tv selection was kinda poor

« Greatly Improved over several years ago »

I say it is improved, but at my last visit here the water heaters were being replaced as an emergency repair, so we had to change motels. This visit was exemplary. All of the personnel were very nice and conducted themselves in a professional manner. Our room was spotless and in great condition. We used the guest laundry and were happy with the results. And they had fresh hot cookies for the guests. We ate at Ka-Bobs next door and it was good.

« Stopping for the night after being a snowbird in AZ »

This is a very nice place to spend an evening while traveling home from a 3 month winter in AZ. The room was clean and comfortable. The only complaint was the tractor trailer that was parked in the neighboring hotel parking lot. He was running his unit most of the night and the noise drifted over to us. But we slept pretty much all night anyway. There was also a very nice breakfast served early the next morning.

    5
    « We'll write this one down »

We've stopped in Tucumcari many times on our way home to Chicago from Arizona, but we can never remember where we stayed. We picked the Discovery Inn from a coupon book and TripAdvisor reviews. It was a great choice. Large, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms. Really big bathroom with sink away from shower. Nice little balcony overlooking the seasonally opened pool. The hot breakfast was outstanding. Waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, fruit, and more. The only negative might be the strength of the wifi, but that wasn't important to us on this trip. Staff was very efficient and courteous. We'll write this one down so we remember next year!

    « Tucumcari NM »

This was a good hotel we had a little porch on the back which was a nice touch but was too cold to enjoy it much. We got up the next morning and the place was full, it had snowed that night and the roads took a while to clear. The staff was nice.

    « Never »

Due to coming down with flu, I needed to make an unplanned overnight stop on my trip west. I drove for a half hour and past many other motels to find the Tucumcari Best Western. It was mid-week and mid-afternoon. They were not busy. I was assigned a room on the second floor. There are no elevators. Since I wasn't feeling well, I asked for help hauling my suitcases up the stairs. The man at the desk declined due to a bad shoulder. I decided to drag it up it myself rather than wait for "maintenance". Did I say they were not busy and the parking lot was empty? Seeing that the room they had given me was not just on the second floor but on the noisy freeway side of the building put me right over my edge. I'm now happily across the street at the Holiday Inn Express. It's more than I need, but at least I'll get some sleep.

« Still a great stop when traveling through »

Stayed there again after about a year on our way back from Arizona. Still same nice people running it, best breakfast room and offerings you'll find short of a cooked to order place. Spotless. These people care about their jobs and this business. Great value. Internet much improved from last year.

« A Pleasing Stay in New Mexico »

On a cross country trip we stayed at the Best Western Discovery Inn. It was ideally located just of Interstate 40 with easy on and off access. The room was very comfortable and well maintained. The staff was welcoming and helpful and wanted to ensure we had a good stay. The breakfast bar was very good with a wide variety of choices. The food was well presented and well maintained by the lady in charge of the area. Check-in and check-out was prompt and efficient with good staff.

    « Tucumcari Best Western »

Very comfortable. Nice to have a table in our room so we could play cards, which we like to do. Only disappointment was that there was no microwave in our room. There was a nice variety of offerings for the Continental breakfast.

    2
« Misleading on availability of the pool »

My friend and I booked this BW specifically because it said it had a pool that you could take a dip in before starting your day. Never did it mention that the pool was seasonal. Huge let down as we drove 760 miles and were looking forward to a swim. It's clean, the room entrances is outside (I carry door alarms for outside doors and connecting doors) and the room is fairly large. Other than that the place is fine. Not the best Best Western I've been in and if you want a pool you can travel about 50 more miles west (or stop 50 miles sooner) at Santa Rosa, NM and they have two pools. One is heated and one is not heated. Currently the one that is heated is undergoing a remodel and isn't open. It pays to advertise what you really have to offer.

« good hotel except for internet »

great experience except the internet range was touchy at the extreme end of the hotel where our room was located. Ate at K Bob's next door and had a good meal. Nice to have this location past Albequerque on our way west, to break up the trip. The Indian's overlook was a nice view nearby.

« Thanks Laura, for making a long day even longer »

After a 9 hour drive to get there, the front desk was rude and unaccommodating. My father had made the reservation for me as I was traveling on a cash only basis with limited funds. She would not accept the card on file, charged me a higher rate because I had to re-book and pay with cash I did not have. Then she tried to have me sign a waiver for the incidentals and pet deposit--on the very credit card she just said she could not accept. I was thentold that the Wi-Fi was not working and the only signal was from the hotel across the street! That alone should have warranted a discounted rate. So disappointed in my stay as I have stayed at Best Western on many occasion and never had a problem. The easiest and cheapest way to make a guest happy is a little kindness!

Great place to stay, reasonable price, excellent check in staff, very helpful and efficient. Attractive building in and out, very welcoming, very spacious, comfortable room, close parking, near to a very nice restaurant and best of all a great breakfast, not just your packaged eggs and sausage, but home cooked oatmeal and all of the other breakfast stuff (fruit , yogurt, bagels, toast etc) -thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to others - too bad that other Best Westerns did not copy what goes on at the Best Western Discovery Inn in Tucumcari New Mexico

    « Enjoyed our stay »

We arrived late on the first leg of hour 20 hour trip the gentlemen at the front desk was polite and got us checked in quickly. We got a downstairs room which helped with all the luggage we had. Beds were comfy, plenty of channels on TV, room was clean. Checkout was easy had no issues and the breakfast was good. Eggs, biscuits and gravy, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, pastries, and saugage. I would recommended this hotel to anyone traveling through the area.

« Great Stop For The Evening »

This BW motel is a great stop for an overnight stay or longer right off of the Interstate highway I-40. The friendly registration desk employees and others on staff are very freindly and helpful as well. The room we stayed in for one night was welcoming, in that it had a comfortable bed, lounge chair and desk. The bathroom was clean and well provided with good toiletries. Lighting was very good in various places. "A home away from home".

« Rude front desk clerk. »

Woman at desk was rude, I left for another hotel. She refused to let me pay cash, I've paid cash many times at hotels all over. No idea why they would discriminate against me based on that. Don't waste time here. Second bad experience I've had at best western this week. I'm going to give up on this chain altogether.

« Clean, Quiet, Comfortable and Great People »

The title says it all... good place to stay. I traveled to Dallas and back to Canada and stay at Best Western most of my trips. good quality and for the most part good value. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you're on the road or in the area needing a bed for the night.

« Cats keep us company »

The hotel is close to the freeway, but nights are peaceful, due to the light traffic. We stayed in a room overlooking the swimming pool (alas, the pool was covered with tarpauline for the winter!) Then four lonely cats came into view and played with a wasp in front of the pool. One of them was trying to snatch it, but was scared of the sting. They then sipped the water collected on top of the tarpaulin and sneaked away as we kept sitting on the patio, enjoying the setting sun. This is a quiant property, with a good breakfast and friendly, efficient Staff, however, if we ever stay there again, I would opt for a room facing the courtyard, rather than the freeway!

    « Great location and »

Very nice property and location. Great restaurant next door (K-Bob's). Room was handicapped access, very clean and comfortable. Suggest one more chair in the handicapped room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

    « Nice stay. »

We stayed here for one night as we were passing through. It was easy access to I-40. Staff was friendly and room was very clean and modern. Only complaint is, we never could get the Wifi to work and the bed was a bit hard. Overall though, we will stay here again.

    « Poor counter service »

Have stayed at Best Western numerous times in the past. This hotel close to I-40, and had very good comments on TripAdvisor. This place had by far the worst counter service. Both ladies unfriendly, we asked about restaurant next door, and did they have a menu and were advised that they had nothing to do with it. Asked if they had in recommendations of a place to eat, No they don't have a list. Asked if they would recommend the steak house next door, and she walked away. Gentleman that checked us out, didn't say good morning, or smile. What happened on the 5/6th? The breakfast was very good, better than most Best Westerns, fresh grapefruit, what a treat, Lady looking after area, very friendly even helped me to the table. She kept an eye on table that they were clean, also the food area. Room larger than most, table and chairs was a bonus.

    « Easy off/on I-40 »

What a convenient location! Located right off I-40, this motel has been updated, has easy parking, and has a great breakfast. Rooms are a good size. Pillows and bedding were comfortable. Temperature was easy to control.

    « Good Place to Stay/Good Value »

My husband and I usually always stay at a Best Western, so on our trip west we stayed at the Best Western in Tucumcari, NM. The staff was very courteous and the facility very clean and comfortable, altho there is room for improvement on the pillows. The rate was excellent!

« Debating Whether To Return »

Very close to the Interstate. Pleasant staff and clean, comfortable room; however, the walls are thin. The hot breakfast is above average for a Best Western location. Ample, well lit parking spaces. Comfortable bed; microwave and fridge.

    « Renovations Complete »

We've been staying at this motel over the past three years. During that time they have renovated the property. The room was spacious, larger than most motels offer. The room had new carpet, paint, plumbing fixtures, tile floor and bath. It was furnished with table and chairs. Had everthing one would need for a nights or couple of days stay. The breakfast was above average. Had both hot and cold items.

    « Snowbound »

This is a nice comfortable hotel to stay at especially when the highway is covered with snow. Rooms are clean and comfortable. A great restaurant next door. Great breakfast provided by the hotel in house.

    « Fantastic Everything »

The front desk people were helpful, even after my bank declined my card, and waited patiently for me to call my back and clear it up. The room was large and clean, the steakhouse in the parking lot was good, friendly and cheap. The breakfast was great. Highly recommended.

« On our way to a family reunion »

Great place to stay. I'd give it a 4.5 stars. A little scum residue left on the tub (I like baths), but it wasn't anything that I couldn't wash off myself. But overall the place was clean. Customer service was great. The beds were wonderful and sooo comfortable. My husband said I snored all night long which I rarely do. Breakfast was just delicious!!! We're coming back here again from our road trip to GA. I highly recommend this place. Loved it!!

« No TV no hot water rude staff »

I had to wait on the check-in clerk to turn over her baby to someone else to wait on me. I got a room with 2 queens, said no kings were available. Got a 10% discount. I offered my AAA or my AARP card for a discount. Said she didn't need the card she would just give me a 10% discount. Seems as if JUST REGULAR RATE. Got to room, then went and ate. Came back got my clothes, etc ready for an early start, settled in and all ready to watch my TV show (THE ONLY REASON I STOPPED IN THE AREA). It ran for about 30 minutes and the TV FROZE UP. The screen said they were aware and would be back on shortly. It was about 9 and show was over by then Got ready to take shower. I ran water for at least 5 if not 10 minutes and had no hot water. Just ICE COLD, therefore NO SHOWER. Got up next morning, water got tepid, no shower, dressed went to front desk to check out. Asked for a credit, told me TV was not their problem, a man behind her said it was there problem. Said I should have let them know about water situation. I did not call, I was not going to let anyone in my room that late at night. Clerk was rude, asked to speak to manager. I was told not in today. Then changed and told me she would be in later. I got some breakfast to go. I got coffee, OJ, Sweet roll. It was in a warmer. By time I got on the road, the cinnamon roll was dry and texture that it had been reheated many times. 1. Poor service desk at check in 2. No TV 3. No hot water for shower at night 4. Limited Amenities in room 5. Tepid water, not warm enough for a shower in am 6. Rude clerk, untruthful about manager 7. Old food on breakfast bar. I got a room the night before at a Holiday Express, in Holiday Inn Express Lake Worth Nw Loop 820 with full amenities, nicer surroundings and polite help at the front desk for the exact same price. Regards Vickie Hall

« Great stopover for us! »

We've stayed here before and it always seems to be the perfect overnight stop for us. The breakfast is outstanding--freshly made by a lovely lady who is a great cook. The room was clean and even tho it is close to the freeway, it is very quiet. The staff is always very friendly.

    « Super Accommodations »

We chose this place at random and found the room to have things very important to us...highest quality fixtures, fabulous vanity lighting, a great shower, and drains that run free! Good beds. Lots of pillows. Highly recommended.

« Very nice hotel for overnight stay »

Tucumcari I'm a BW rewards member, so I stay almost exclusively at BW hotels, and I would say that overall the hotel was nice - a slightly above average Best Western. We stayed here for two separate overnights on a trip between Texas and Arizona. The rooms were clean and comfortable with nice beds and we had a quiet room (get a room away from the parking lot - it faces out into an open area with no activity). The staff was friendly, and in fact my only complaint was that they were a little too hospitable; we arrived around 10pm, tired after a long day of driving and were in beds with the lights out within 30 minutes after checkin. The front desk attendant called about five minutes after we checked in to make sure our room was okay and see if we needed anything. It was a very nice gesture, but not necessary approaching 11pm. Breakfast was good (standard continental breakfast) and we chose to stay there a second time on our way back.

Very helpful staff in a nice locale. Rooms and property were clean and well kept. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends. Easy to reach dining establishments. The environment was cheerful . We enjoyed our visit here and would stop again.

« The best place to stay »

The Best Western is the best place to stay in Tucumcari, New Mexico. The rates are good, the rooms are clean, and you will enjoy a hot breakfast. It is halfway between our home in Emporia, Kansas and our condo in Phoenix, Arizona. We stay there every year going down and again coming back.

    « Poor experience »

This hotel has been good to stay at in the past but something has changed an it is being allowed to become run-down. Will be looking for new place the next time I pass through. Very poor experience which is an exception as in prior visits all was fine for the most part and the stay was uneventful.

    « Very nice! »

Easy access from I-40. The hotel lobby and all facilities are clean, and the decor is modern and in excellent condition. The staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was great and the room was comfy and quiet. I did miss having a refrigerator and microwave, but there was an iron, coffee pot and hair dryer. I will stay there again.

« The place to stay. »

Right off the freeway with great restaurants close by plus a wonderful hot breakfast waiting for you the next morning. If you are traveling down the I-40 and need a place to stay for the night I recommend the BW Discovery Inn in Tucumcari.

    « Disappointment »

The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable The heat was hard to adjust. I could not get ant hot water in the a.m. for my shower. After running the water for 7 minutes it was barely warm.....very disappointing!

« Dirty and old in Tucumcari »

Room was old and not clean. Lots of dirt in corners of room, closet, bath. Highway was loud and you hear every semi that drives by. We were traveling with a small 10 lb dog which we put in the reservation. Clerk was rude on check in. Never again will we stay here.

    « Great place »

This was a clean, neat, well managed place to stay.. The breakfast for out of this work.. Waffles, sausage, eggs, hash browns, gravy, fruit, yogurt and very friendly staff.. I would recommend this hotel if you are passing through or staying for a few days. Very close to a truck stop and McDonalds not to mention just off the interstate- but far enough not to be bothered by the hi-way noise.. 5stars from SW Kansas

    « Booking »

I made the mistake of booking this through Orbit and paid an add'l $20. because of that. Was told by desk personnel that I should call and book it direct next time and not go through an agent like Orbits. They do not give you the best price.

    « Fall 2015 travels »

We found this hotel to be very pleasant and easily accessible from the highway we were traveling. The room was very comfortable and the free breakfast and free Wi-Fi were nice. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly.

    « Don't Stay Here - terrible! »

The photos on the property website look great...the room we had was very old, dirty, noisy and included crickets! Worst hotel room we have been in for many years! Could not wait to leave. Located next to interstate with lots of noise. Has outside entrance and the door to our room looked like it had been broken into at one time!

    « Best Western »

Use Best Western traveling cross country with a pet. This is one of the better one's. serve a good complimentary breakfast. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Have stayed here many times. Good quality for the price.

    « Best Western - Tucumcari, NM »

Had been remodeled since we stayed here last. Is convenient to interstate, was clean and a great value as used our Best Western points. Steakhouse next door was closed last time we stayed here ... was open and had a nice dinner with an excellent waitress as well.

    « Comfortable stay. »

I was getting used to Best Western rooms on my road trip. This property was very nice. Our room was neat and clean and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. The free WiFi worked well. Had small fridge in room, but was told that we could use the microwave in the hospitality room by lobby if needed. There is an outdoor pool, coin laundry and complimentary hot breakfast. The property is 2 stories with no elevator, so we were happy to get a ground floor room. The only thing that I would change about the facility is to have ice at more than one location. It was quite a walk from our room (across the parking lot) to go to the ice machine/vending machine room. To the place's credit, you needed to have a room key to open the ice room door. I would gladly stay here again, as my stay was comfortable and quiet.

    « Nice, Quiet Stop »

It's a good travel stop, close to several restaurants. We stopped here instead of Amarillo to put another 100 miles behind us during a long trip. Our room was extremely quiet despite being close to the interstate. The hotel consist of separate buildings. Our only issue was the lack of wi-if in our building. To their credit, the staff let us know and asked if it would be a problem. The king size bed was comfortable.

« Interstate noise prevented sleep »

We were given a really nice room, but the flush lever on the toilet broke. The desk person said they don't have a maintenance person in the evening. This is a 2 minute fix. The nut was stripped. If I had the nut, I could have had it fixed in less than 2 minutes. But, instead, we were moved to a room facing Interstate 40. All night long it was ba bump, ba bump, and no sleep. Worst night I ever spent in a hotel in my life! No refrigerator in the replacement room. We have been staying in BW's since the 70's, and they've always been great, but this trip we had 2 bad experiences with them. We will never stay at a Best Western again!

« Drive by this hotel and town if possible »

We arrived at 8:55 pm. I had reserved a king handicapped accessible room through AAA's reservation system. When we arrived, the front desk person said they didn't have a king bed available but would put us in a 2 queen bed handicapped accessible room. The young lady at the front desk explained that sometimes the on line reservations didn't update with the available rooms. She acted like she didn't want to be there, wasn't friendly, didn't smile and didn't care if we were happy. The hand held shower holder broke when I used it. When we checked out the next morning, the two ladies at the front desk were as different as night and day from their coworker the night before. One of them commented that the hotel didn't even have a king size handicapped accessible room even though I was able to select the room on AAA's reservation system. She suggested I call the hotel to confirm the on line reservations I make in the future. Both of the check out ladies were friendly, appeared genuinely concerned about our experience and left me smiling.
