Everything about the hotel was excellent. We are driving cross country in an EV. The onsite chargers were a nice bonus. The room was clean, the staff were helpful, The breakfast was typical hotel fare but everything was well prepared and presented. I highly recommend.
Everything about this hotel was great! The staff were friendly and competent. The room was Very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and large. The hot breakfast was awesome! Located near Walmart and cheap gas. Would definitely stay here again!
Nicest hotel in Western NE. The Best Western in Ogallala is clean, comfortable, and stylish. Seems like a recent renovation and honestly is a lot like a Hilton. Pleasant after experiencing some icky places on the way to our destination, I was grateful that this place was soooo nice. The breakfast was delicious, rooms were really nice, and pool was great!
Clean room, comfy mattress - modern, updated facility. The breakfast had a lot of options and there was plenty of seating available. It was a nice touch to have the "grab and go" containers as an option rather than staying and eating in the "breakfast area".
We were there for a wedding. Towels were removed from room in morning and not replaced. Our bed was never changed in the 3 nights that we were there.
easy location, newer facility, good price, friendly staff. good breakfast choices. pool was available.
This hotel is an excellent choice & a great value! It is super clean, roomy & the free breakfast was great! The staff is also very helpful!
This is a great hotel! The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok, but not much variety from one day to the next. It is reasonably priced and very clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again!
Very impressed with how clean and up to date the hotel was. Check in was a breeze, John was very helpful and polite. We asked for restaurant recommendations and he gave a list to us that was quite helpful. We went with his personal recommendation and loved the food. Breakfast was plentiful and high quality. Everything was well stocked! Staff was very polite. I was pleased to find they had half and half for the cereal!
Staff was friendly and check-in was smooth. Room was very clean and breakfast was very good. I would stay there again.
This is the place to stay in Ogallala. The staff is wonderful, the whole property is really clean, and the rooms are large and comfortable. The breakfast is outstanding. Really can't think of anything bad to say. Would stay here again if in the area.
We were traveling from California to St Louis. We were exhausted from caring for my 95-year-old dad. We were tired from the long drive over two mountain passes. I brought all my meager jewelry with me and put it in a box. Somehow the box fell out of my luggage. I didn't know until the hotel called me. The cleaning person found the box and brought it to the front desk. They sent my jewelry to me! I still can't believe it. Thank you! Plus this hotel is much nicer than the Best Western in North Platte. When we drive back to California in a month, you can be sure we will return.
Spotlessly clean, nice breakfast, friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again. It looked like a new property so everything was i good working order.
This hotel was very clean, the bed was also very comfortable. We will be staying here when we are coming through Ogallala NE.
Stopped on this BW on cross country trip. Very clean, new, quiet, good parking even for vehicle with trailer. Breakfast was fine. Room was very clean. Service was fine but did not really need any extra help. Would have been nice to have an extra blanket in room.
Have made this my home for about a month and it has been very pleasant. Clean rooms, decent breakfast, kids enjoy the pool, and good location. Would definitely recommend staying here on your getaway to Ogallala Nebraska
Very nice motel. Looks like a newer building. Everything was new looking and clean. Room was nice and clean and quiet. Had a fridge and microwave and a large Tv. Breakfast was one of the best for motel breakfasts.
Overall a very good nights stay. The place is very clean and up to date. Very comfortable beds and an excellent breakfast. Just neutral in theme which seems to be the theme with newer motels. Besides this, everything else was just fine and would come back again.
I stay at alot of hotels and this is one of my favorites.. GM and the staff take pride from check in to amenities to breakfast..Beds very comfortable and very clean and safe.. spacious rooms and very clean hotel. staff very friendly to ask questions about the area
Great hotel, fantastic breakfast with a quite a few options more than the normal hotel breafast, a bit pricey for the small town it was in but in a great spot right off the highway and good food options right around the hotel. Overall it was a great stay
This is a very good property. Clean and well cared for. The area was filled with food options and the front desk staff had good recommendations. Breakfast was fresh and the area was clean. Well taken care of. The room was clean, bed was good but the pillows were not my preferred type. During the week we had not interruptions from outside noise. Great night sleep.
We were traveling to COnand made reservations to stay somewhere partway but being “stupid” went to the wrong city and we passed the city, so needed somewhere to stay, that is when we found BW Plus… I see why it is BEST and PLUS… WE HAD THE BEST EXPERIENCE. We had friendly people from the first phone call, BEST experience that night there! We did not use the pool or exercise room but the breakfast was the absolute best! The room was clean, quiet and the beds SO COMFY! WOULD RECOMMEND 100%
I have been at many motels in the last few years. This one ranks at the top for all categories. We need a motel quickly due to a family death. They were extremely helpful all the way from reservation to check out. This motel is worth the amount you pay. Thank you Best Western Plus!
Excellence ratings for hotel staff. My extended stay of 13 nights was first class due to your staff, breakfast and cleanliness. I highly recommend Best Western hotels, but the Ogallala Best Western was by far my best experience.
Check time on your phone when you check in. Got up an hour early. They served us breakfast anyway. New facility. Staff is fantastic. Breakfast was great too. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! App wants 200 characters but I said everything I wanted ………..
Excellent price, cleanliness, great beds, front desk help and quiet. Love this place and I stay in a hotel 3 to 4 days a week. This is one of my favorite places to stay. Great location too. So so clean
It was good quality hotel. Breakfast was really nice. Pretty clean overall. Good pool for kids and nice area around the pool. Pool water was warm. Beds were made and everything was good with the shower except the shampoo was disgusting.
Really loud super early in the morning. Breakfast begins at 6 am and there is already commotion by the elevators? Why is breakfast so early? Not a good place to stay if you want sound sleep past 6am. Such thin walls
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was great for a hotel breakfast. We had no problems with anything and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants a good place to stay!
Excellent motel! We stopped here for one night on the way to our vacation and we were so pleased! Beautiful rooms and very clean! Loved the room layout and all the shelving options. Breakfast was great with lots of choices. Staff was kind and helpful and fun! Would most definitely stay here again!
This is a nice hotel with the best “free” breakfast we have ever enjoyed. The lady serving there was amazing and did such a fantastic job. Front desk staff, however, were unwelcoming and even rude when we first arrived. And after checking in they barely acknowledged us when we would pass them in the lobby. Unfortunately, this affected our impression of what was otherwise a lovely hotel and stay.
Clean, comfortable rooms with no odor of tobacco. Hotel appears new or recently remodeled. Good pool. Excellent breakfast. Convenient location near the highway, good coffee, gas station. Would stay here in the future.
An amazing hotel with even more amazing staff. Friendly and truly care about your comfort. The hotel was like new and received a very reasonable price. Highly recommend this Best Western if you are driving on I-80 and want a good night sleep.
We traveled here for state baseball in Imperial and the staff made our stay wonderful! They gave us extra space to feed our hungry teenage boys, wash up the team uniforms between games and helped provide our giant baseball family an incredible home away from home! The staff was always friendly and the hotel was always clean. 10/10 will recommend this to anyone passing through the area!
My family stopped here on the way to CO, it's a great stopping point. The hotel and our room was amazingly spotless and no weird smells!! They even had a sheet of paper with all the restaurants near by and what kind of food they served, SUPER appreciated and it made our dinner decision that much easier! Beds were super comfortable too!
poor room lighting. room door does NOT automatically close its latch. Cant believe the housekeeper would not have reported that. As Reward members, we responded to their "quick checkin" email 2 days ago.. It did not work. Still had to present my id and physical bank card. Plus help train the new front desk person.
This is a great hotel right off the highway. The breakfast was great and very handy for a working individual. Love how they had it out right on time at 6 o'clock. I will be staying here in the future.
we were very happy with our stay.the motel was very clean. our room was very clean and comfortable. the front staff was very friendly and helpful.I cannot say enough good things about them. a very good location to everything.
Best Best Western we've stayed at to date. Well done. Nice gym and pool. Room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast had many choices and food was all great. Walmart and Wendy's were walking distance along with a Scooters Coffee Shop.
Wonderful hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was awesome and the kids absolutely loved the room and pool! One spot was missed when cleaning in the bathroom, but it wasn't such a dealbreaker because the rest of the room was amazing. Will definitely stay here again.
Our favorite place to stay in Ogallala. Very quiet and clean. Great hot breakfast. All around quality place to stay. Firm bed. Nice ahower. Bathroom was clean. Room included a refrigerator and microwave in a shelved kitchen area. Room was spacious with a corner chair and a nice desk.
Front desk staff: Isela and Melissa were good, courteous and practice active listening. Shiny bathtub, great job on cleaning that specific item. Issues: 1. Hairs in bathroom corners, dusts built up, food grease/water stains, stain/tape stains on light switch plaque, black/blue stains/sprays on the sink baseboard underneath the mirror. Greases on nightstands, marks along the edge of the mirror. Blue tape like trash next to the refrigerator. 2. Bedding is clean, comforter is still thin 3. Central air is hard to operate, couldn't make it warmer. 4. Foot towel hang on the bath towel rack, and did not fold well, can came across as if unclean/dirty When a room is unclean, it's hard to for me to provide high rating. Things don't have to be new, but they must be well cleaned and sanitized. The breakfast and service attitude from the staff was great. It's unfortunate that I still can't provide high rating when the room is unclean.
We arrived to this hotel later in the evening, and I did not notice how grungy our room was until the next monring. There was hair on the bath mat which was on the floor and not folded, the toilet looked disgusting, and there were only a few towels in the room. Plus, upon reflection, the bed covers were mussed upon our arrival. It was as if the room was never cleaned since the last customer, or it had been cleaned but was used by someone before us. This is totally unacceptable. When I reached out to the manager, he declined to do anything for us other than to give us a discount on our next stay. DO NOT stay at this place. Even the front desk staf were bothered by our arrival interrupting their phone time. If you need to stay in Ogallala, choose another hotel.
This is a great Best Western right off of I-80. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional, the building is clean, modern, and comfortable, the facilities are great, internet is the fastest I've experienced at a hotel, bed was really comfortable, the room was quiet and incredibly clean. We love that this hotel is dog-friendly, too!
This hotel was nice and clean. We were traveling with a dog and cat and they were very welcoming. The only complaint we have is the pillows were not very comfortable. Other than that we definitely recommend this hotel and other Best Westerns.
Nice clean rooms with micro wave, refrigerator and coffee maker. Beds were very comfortable. Friendly staff and good continental breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to those who need a hotel in Ogallala, NE
We had great service from staff and room was nice. Unfortunately the indoor pool was cold and dirty and that is the reason we chose the hotel so very disappointed. I highly recommend staff learns pool maintenance for future.
The staff was friendly and the prices for the hotel were also affordable due to the good quality of the hotel!!! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone in town or passing by. The breakfast was really good as well.
Hotel was a nice choice for the evening. We were greeted by amazing staff whom were very helpful in directing us towards restaurants & things to do in the area. Someone forgot to make cookies that day but staff made up for that the following day. Internet worked quite well. Just wish our shower was a little cleaner. We would definitely choice the Best Western Plus for another nights stay if in the area.
We made reservations well in advance for a family reunion at this hotel. When we were checking in they tried to charge us a rate almost double what we had been quoted when we reserved our rooms. It's a decent hotel but definitely not worth $300 a night! Plus, the breakfast wasn't great and includes some disgusting pretend eggs. There are several other hotels nearby if you really need to be in this area.
Made a reservation based on their website pricing of $145 to $185 a night. Was charged over $350 for the first night alone, and over $250 for the 2nd. Way overpriced. Bathroom door didn't function properly and staff gave me the runaround as to why I was so badly price gouged.
This was the worst Best Western we have ever stayed at. First, the only option there was for breakfast was cereal or cold hash browns and sausage. Our kids swam first in the morning then we went to breakfast at 8:30 (breakfast is served from 6am-9am). When we confronted the man working he said he doesn't put anything new out after 8 so what is left is the only option. As we were eating, he proceeded to take what was left of the cold hash browns and sausages, by now it was only 8:45. He did not try to make anything right or offer to bring anything else out. He just kept cleaning up. Also, this appears to be a new hotel but there was damage to our room. The carpet trim was ripped off on one walls and the bathroom door lock ripped the wall. When these concerns were brought up, nobody seemed to be able to do anything. I would not recommend staying at this hotel, save your money and go somewhere else.
When we check in the guy was not very nice. Then when we went to our room there was no cups. Not a big deal. Then used the bathroom by r the lobby. No toilet paper. Then the man working kept checking on me and my family by the pool. It was creepy. Then we ate breakfast no plates and no one to talk to to find more. So we had to find them. All of it not that bad. But when you pay 300 for a room I expect better. Holiday in next time.
Hotel seems to be fairly new but they have a terrible untrained staff. Breakfast is awfull and might even be unsafe to consume due to the untrained and seemingly not caring staff.Guest had to make do with watever they had available during breakfast one of the guest had to go to his own car and bring some used cups to get coffee.
I booked a room at this hotel for my son-in-law for his travel and they called at the last minute and said they had overbooked and didn't have a room. There was a room in North Platte that they would have saved for 10 minutes if I wanted that. But apparently they couldn't just transfer the reservation over. I paid with points I have accumulated. I would have to re-book. But I couldn't use my points for that. It was too late, you see. So for the low price of $249.00 I could get that room. He went elsewhere.
Good place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Definitely would stay there again as this is the second time we've been here. Near to a convenient Walmart location as well with gas and diesel. Located close to exit off of I-80.
Desk clerk seem tired, but mostly helpful. Seemed to be poor planning by management and breakfast preparer. Almost everything was out by 0645. There were no eggs, no sausage, no hashbrowns, very little cereal, no yogurt, little choice of bread for toast, only one type of milk for one choice of cereal. Had to wait more than 30 minutes for eggs and sausage. The coffee pot in the room had water left in it and did not seem to have been cleaned.
The overall experience was great. The room was very nice and comfortable. The staff were very enthusiastic and helpful with any concerns I had. It is a bit more pricier than other hotels but the hotel was very nice. The hotel also had a nice pool and offered breakfast.
The hotel was nice and new. Downside is, you can hear every door, microwave, voice…we will not stay here again. Did not get a good night sleep because there was no room insulation for noise. Too overpriced for such a poorly built hotel. Would have been great if it wasn't so noisy.
This hotel was beautiful, clean and the hotel staff was wonderful. Best hotel breakfast we have ever had. Very delicious with lots of options to choose from. Plus for kids they had lucky charms! Amazing
Don't hesitate. This was a great place to stay. The breakfast was good. Comfortable beds and fast internet service. Would definitely stay here again. Easy access from the interstate with gas stations and restaurants close by. It is pet friendly
Super nice new best Western Inn. They are still working on getting the pool up to running order but the rest of the hotel is fantastic with modern rooms and really nice amenities. Rain shower type showers. Great staff and large area for breakfast or common area for meeting. Super nice to have charging ports for electric vehicle. I was able to leave with a full tank in the morning.
Property has scary Bates Motel clerk who initiated and caused threats. Sad b/c I had stayed here previously in April 2021 and was a return customer. Save yourself and stay at the Holiday Inn nearby instead. For my safety, I left this property after ten minutes but was charged full price for a one-night reservation with pet fees. (At the time, I contacted both Best Western corporate and local, neither of which did anything.) This property soured me on Best Western in general and I am now solely staying at Marriotts.
Will definitely stay again on our treks to Colorado. Clean, pleasant, with convenient location. One change would be the lighting in the room. The LEDs used in the room are very dim for old eyes. Maybe any eyes. I wish I would have had my camping headlight with me for reading. Huge TV. Nice beds. Slept great in the quiet room. Clean bathroom. Thank you.
Soft sweet smelling sheets, nice room. Property is very well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Love that this hotel is pet friendly - will definitely stay here again next time I come to town.
It's a great location for travelers with little time for site seeing or not. Plenty of options for eating and reasonably price gas. Best warm breakfast included not like the continental style of other hotels so consider that in your savings comparing hotels. It's a very new place with a beautiful open lobby to hang out.
We Booked our room thru Priceline. I prepaid for the room but this hotel for some stupid reason….(terrible staff and management) decided to charge us a second time for our room. I found the mistake immediately on our credit card statement and called the hotel as we had only stayed there the one night on our way back from our trip. I talked to a Foster guy who pretended he cared and told me he would fix and credit me back immediately. We'll that didn't happen and about 20 calls later over the next week…promise after promise and excuse after excuse they actually quit answering their phone. What business acts like this and or treats customers like this? It's unbelievable! I called Corporate Best Western and they couldn't even reach the hotel and OGALLA didn't answer Corpprate's repeated emails. Finally she got thru and imagine this…Foster was no longer in charge so I was referred to another guy (Channer) who was as bad and or worse. He did the same thing to me again…acting like he would solve the overcharge ASAP. It didn't happen either. Finally our credit card company refunded us the overcharge. We should not have had to do that as this hotel is cheating customers. I'm not the only one if you read the reviews. They are dirty and underhanded and I will be reporting them to Better Business Bureau. The room itself was ok as it's a newer hotel but DONT STAY HERE!!!! IF I COUID GIVE THEM ZERO STARS I WOUID!!!
I didn't know I had an elite membership. I am handicap and use oxygen 24/7 and have chronic pain syndrome in my legs. I have a handicap placard. I asked if I could park by the front door, even though those spaces are marked Elite member parking only and handicap have to park at the very end of the parking lot and have a pretty good walk to the front door. I was told no I could not park there, but, I would be put in a room at the end of the building where I would park and come in the back door. I said that would work. I parked and started taking my items into the hotel and I ended up taking 4 trips to move all of my belongings into my room. There was no cart on that end of the building. I later asked if I could take one of the carts to the other end of the building, and I was told you can use it but bring it back when I was done. And there is a sign on the cart to do the same. But, if a handicap person has trouble walking, that is the last thing one wants to do is to walk any further than you have to so I kept the cart on my end of the building so I could use it in the morning. If I had walked to the front of the building since I cant walk very well and use 2 canes to move around, it would take me more time than to just take my stuff to my room on the bottom floor. After I got all of my items into my room, on my last trip, a lady in the room across the hall from me started entering her room with an arm full of towels. I didnt think anything about it until I went to take a shower that night. Come to find out I had no towels in my room either. I called the front desk and they brought me towels, but to not have any im my room, that was a first. I went to take a shower and low and behold, the bathroom door would not lock. The lock was broken and would not turn all the way to lock the door. Then to top it off, there was no regular coffee in the room. Decaf, yes, but, I do not use decaf. Actually, the rooms were very nicely decorated and looked like they had just been remodeled, and, it also looked like they did not have time to put everything back in the room prior to being rented out. For example, no liners in the trash cans, someone was going to put them in but forgot as the roll of liners was left on the top of the new dresser drawers. When I checked out in the morning, I loaded all of my stuff in my vehicle and drove to the front door. The first door opened but the 2nd set of doors was locked so I could not get in to check out. This was at just after 4 AM. I finally got someone on the phone to open the doors. I was asked if she could help me and I said yes, I need to check out. I was asked if I needed a receipt and I said yes so one was printed for me. I asked if there was coffee and the lady said yes. I filled my cup and left. I got back into my vehicle and I took a sip of coffee and it was cold. How about that. To say the least the hotel is nice but needs to fine tune what is going on and get stuff done before putting guests into the rooms.. I dont know if the others are this way, but, I would guess some where just like mine since the lady across the hall had to get towels also. Might want to do some hands on training with staff
When I checked in I provided a printed copy of a $50 gift card that was sent to me by Best Western Rewards. The person checking me in told me that only the manager could apply the card to my credit card and it would be done the next day. I only stayed one night. After arriving at my destination and checking my credit card I found that I was charged for two nights instead of one plus a $20 charge for some misc. item. I only stayed for one night and never charged anything to my room. I also did not see that the $50 gift card was credited to my account. I have made eight calls in the last two weeks to the hotel to try to get this overcharge and $50 credit applied to my credit card to no avail. They have made me promises but nothing has been done. I am out around $200 and they don't seem to want to do anything about it. Also no breakfast was served because the kitchen door was locked. Also I asked for a wakeup call and they didn't call me.
Clean, all staff friendly even though they are understaffed. They reacted to every need and the place was spotless! Convenient to I-80 with gas and food nearby. This town was just a sleep stop for us but, it out did a lot of places on our route. We enjoyed the overnight stay.
My husband and I stopped staying at Best Westerns because we felt the quality had gone downhill. I'm glad we gave this one a try! It was very comfortable and clean. The check in and out process was very easy and quick. All the employees we met were friendly and accommodating. Employees wore masks and there was plenty of hand sanitizer in the lobby. We will definitely be back next time are in Ogallala.
The staff here makes all the difference. The reception clerk was named Foster, a young man who graciously made guests feel welcome. Another friendly young man was in the hallway cleaning rooms. The breakfast is served to order by a pleasant woman. This hotel has made many efforts for COVID safety. It's a new property and everything seems shiny fresh and well-maintained, with one exception. The plants at the entry do not look cared for and several are dead. It doesn't make a great first impression.
Easy to find right off I80. Plenty of parking and well lite parking lot. Check in easy, staff friendly. Room was a good size, clean with a mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer and coffee maker although they had coffee in lobby area too. Beds firm but comfortable and place was quiet. New hotel with the LED lighting but room was a bit too dark for us with all lamps on, just needed an additional floor lamp on far side of room. Bummed pool and hot tub closed and breakfast was OK. With covid they had staff serving your selection. We didn't explore the town after checking in but there is a Walmart across from hotel and we did see a few restaurants as we drove in. Went to Scooters Coffee when we left in AM, which is next to hotel and was good. Would stay again.
This is a convenient location right off of I80. The room was clean. Great shower. Comfortable overall. Nice room set-up where I could do my work.. My husband enjoyed the fitness facility. We missed breakfast - but it looked good!
Hotel was clean, team very friendly and did what they could to help. But when booking a 2 queen suite with 6 people, I would have expected enough towels for our group (we only got 3 large towels, 2 hand towels and a wash cloth) and to have linens/pillows supplied for the pull-out bed, as it was obvious with 6 people we would be using the pull-out bed. But no linens or towels were supplied for the and we arrived at 8:30 at night, so not happy to have to ask for them at that time. Also, one of the TVs in our room was not working, luckily we were able to figure out that someone had plugged the TV in wrong and was able to get it up and running in about 10 minutes. In the morning, the breakfast is being served one plate at a time by one person, because of COVID, so the wait time is long since you have to ask for each item you want and uncomfortable since you don't want to be the person holding up the line. Will probably stay here again if going to Big Mac, but will make sure the breakfast process is better before coming back for sure.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! THERE ARE NO ROOM CLEANING SERVICES! If you stay more than one night, you will be required to pick up clean towels, sheets, etc at the front desk, make your own bed, take out your trash, etc. There is very little light in the room at night--one floor lamp and two small, dim lights by the bed. The mattresses are rock hard. There was no bathmat in the shower or texture on the shower floor for traction. Everyone in our family nearly fell while taking a shower. We put a towel down inside the shower to keep from falling. There are no shelves in the shower, so our shampoo, soap, body wash, etc had to be put on the floor of the shower. The towel rack was hung low, over the toilet. Our towels hung over the toilet to dry. We were given 1/2 roll of toilet paper. That was all. Breakfast was not good and they ran out of food well before breakfast was supposed to end. We were charged twice for our 3-night stay over Labor Day weekend. We had to contact the credit card company to get our money back. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Gary, the GM, Aaron the Manager, and Tiffany the Front Desk Recep are AWESOME. I lodged at the BW+ for a long weekend excursion at Lake McConaughey. There were system problems, staff shortages, everything that could go wrong and these three kept positive attitudes, not letting anyone see them sweat. The rooms were very nicely appointed, I even got a few decorating ideas for my own master bedroom at home. Overall, the whole weekend was perfect. I will definitely look for Best Western Plus hotels whenever I travel from now on. I highly recommend the BW+ Ogallala Inn!
They charged us $30 to check-in an hour and a half early!! On top of that, they charge $20 / day for a dog and then won't clean your room. I don't like being taken advantage of so i'll be staying at the neighboring holiday inn next time.
This hotel must be one of their new establishments. Every thing was new. Location was good. Staff needed to be trained better regarding the BW rewards program. I would definetly stay here again if staff is trained in points program.
Brand new hotel. Beds were exceedingly uncomfortable. The lights around the bathroom mirror didn't work, couldn't be fixed apparently, was told we would get a discount on the room but that never happened. Waited for 30 minutes in line for breakfast for mediocre food. 2 stars. Wouldn't recommend.
We only stayed one night but it was great. Check in was fast, price was right and rooms were very clean. The host suggested Open Range for dinner, local bar and grill that was very good! In the morning we had a hot breakfast that was fantastic.
Hotel is wonderful....felt brand new. We did encounter some issues, some resolved, others not. 1) constantly out of towels, in room and pool. Every day had to ask for pool towels, took average 15 mins to get them stocked. As for room, stocked with 3, although 4 of us. When asked for more, he had to check all 3 floors for clean ones, eventually came back (about 10 mins) with clean ones... Downside they weren't fully dried. 2) we had queen suite....has 2 tvs in it. One was not working. Reported it, told they would send someone in the morning....no one showed up 3) arrived at 330 for check-in, told no rooms avail, had to wait 20 mins to get room, even though check in is at 3. 4) woman working front desk wearing a polo that was clearly stained by bleach....just didn't look professional. *****VERY IMPORTANT FOR THOSE WITH KIDS****\\* You hear stories of staying at a hotel and someone "accidentally" ordering porn.... This is the first hotel I've stayed at where that was available. Now, when I say this, I mean as you search the tv guide (even the one in the lobby that anyone has access to) it lists ALL the channels avail to purchase. Now, they aren't just listed as ADULT PROGRAMMING....they have the full titles of the movies. Fortunately my kids are just going enough not to ask questions, but I could see some potential issues. ***DISCLAIMER*** I am not sure if they can actually be ordered, but still could lead to some potentially awkward conversations with the kiddos.
Not prepared for the busy holiday weekend. Staff overwhelmed and not enough staff. Ran out of eggs, towels, door key cards and slow check in. We usually stay next door at the Holiday Inn but saw the price savings so decided to try the Best Western Hotel. We were disappointed and will probably switch back.
Hotel was perfect for our extended weekend getaway. Location is great for exploring the near by lake. Very friendly staff, hotel was clean, quiet room and good hot breakfast and coffee. I loved having a fridge and microwave in the room. The room had lots of storage to unpack. Nice pool. Will be coming back.
The hotel was good. Looks like they could have cleaned the room better and there was some maintenance that needed to be done. The padding in the window for the blinds was coming up or down when you moved the blinds. Also the hand towel rack needed to be screwed in better and fell down a couple times when my husband and I put the towel on it. Other than that it was a bed to sleep in for the 2 nights we were in Ogallala to spend the days at the lake. Lastly, they were short staffed which I understand is a national problem right now and took awhile for the front desk receptionist to come back down after someone needed linens. We also were shorted towels. We had 3 of us in the room and only 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 1 wash cloth.
My kids asked if the hotel was brand new. So clean. The beds were wonderful. Decor was nice. Really enjoyed the two TVs in the room. We only stated here because we were driving through, but I would totally stay here again!
MAY 2020 - We stayed at this hotel in early May 2020 - the hotel is new and is very nice. But BEWARE - watch your credit card! We left the hotel and I got a text that I was being charge an extra charge - (this was about an hour or two after we left). I immediately called the hotel and requested a manager. He stated that we had solid the sheet with food and there were dirty towels left. #1 we did not eat in room, did not get sick in towels! He said well I will have to check with the cleaning staff they have your room number down as the one that made a mess. Well he did call me back and explained there was a miscommunication with the room number. If I had not received the text for my credit card or not checked my statement I would have been charged an extra $50 for someone elses mistakes. So just watch your bills and make sure they don't overcharge you for something that is not yours!
We stay at BW often because they are a level above many motel chains. This place has a beautiful and new building. Can't say the same about the staff. Waited over 10 minutes to check in after completing the online preregistration. The office staff person did not know what she was doing with the customer in front of me and required help from another uniformed employee. Meanwhile, I stand there with no acknowledgement from any of the three staff people at the counter. Two of them were laughing and giggling between themselves while the third continued to struggle with the lone guest in front of me. Later all three left the area with no comment and just refused to make any eye contact with me. THIS IS THE MOST DISCOURTEOUS STAFF I have ever encountered at a BW or any other motel for that matter. Finally I'm recognized and after questioning the slow registration, I get a totally uncalled for caustic remark. I Just want to complete this and get to my room! No comment about my Gold Status, which I get from every other BW. No information about the morning meal routine. Did not talk about the expedited checkout. Even though I had requested a first floor room on the preregistration, no explanation about why I have a second floor room. No point in discussing any of this as these people have absolutely no interest in customer courtesy. I caution anyone to take this place with trepidation and understand they do not measure up to BW's standards. First impressions are important and this place failed miserably. After the discourteous check in, I wondered about their other routines, such as clean linens, sanitized room touch points, etc. There was a small measure of redemption with the complimentary breakfast. Even though it was not self serve, the attendant was pleasant. Not much to choose from but after the registration snafu, he was an improvement. It's apparent the management has done a poor job properly training the registration staff. Until there is a management/ownership change we will by all means avoid this Best Western and advise others to do the same.
Needed a place to stay for 1 night, mid-trip CA-MD. Hotel is new and spotlessly clean. Easy check-in. Large comfortable room with mini-fridge and microwave. Comfortable beds. There is a fitness center and pool. Hot, cooked breakfast available in the morning. Not a scenic location, right next to the freeway, but very quiet. Very easy on/off freeway access. Great for a quick, overnight stay.
This hotel is fairly new. We stayed one night on the third floor, double queen beds. Nice rooms and lobby area. The check-in was smooth and quick. The only problem was something running and then shutting off and starting again. I thought it might be an air handler. Not sure.
Brand newly renovated. Goegeous rooms at a ridiculous price... we stay in hotels a lot. Usually super boujee ones... the thought of a best Western was a little nerve-racking. Super pleasantly surprised. Nice pool! Not at some other hotels here. Full breakfast! Great staff.
I would have given this hotel one star, but I upgraded it to two stars because it is clean. Looks new. Front desk person was friendly enough. I had booked a suite through Expedia way back in February as there are five of us. We were told that they were overbooked and we were given a standard room with two beds. We were given an air mattress that the fifth person had to sleep on. Not pleased.
The room I was in had a light right by the door, then a bright lamp in the front room with the couch, but the room with the beds only had a desk lamp and two tiny lamps beside the beds so it was really dark in there - it was weird. Also, they didn't have bedding in the room for the hide-a-bed so when I called the front desk to ask for bedding, they said they had already given away all the blankets for the night. Fortunately we had a spare blanket in the car but you should really have all the bedding needed in the room/closet. But everything was very clean and they had a hot breakfast with lots to choose from.
My sister and I were looking for a place to stop for the night and my google search led us the this hotel. What a wonderful place! The room we stayed in was clean, spacious, comfortable, and quiet. One of the best hotel experiences of my life.
Stay somewhere else, any where else in town. Hotel is beautiful and modern, Breakfast staff and housekeeper and one male desk staff were nice, but, 90% of the staff can't be bothered to give you the time of day and when I pointed out to one female staff person that they had not given us a heads up that there would be no daily house-keeping, she smart mouthed that she had not had time to print out flyers or make up a notice for people to read that they would no longer be doing 'that type of thing'..... When I asked how we were supposed to get new towels, have the garbage removed, she said we'd have to take it out ourselves and we could reuse our towels. Fortunately, we crossed paths with a male staff person who was actually a pleasant human being (I am not using his name because I am pretty sure at this point that the one female, the manager and the female's male helper would make life miserable for this person [thus, the delay in posting this]) and this person and the housekeeper we crossed paths with later, made sure we had new towels, took our garbage and gave us anything else we needed replenished for our multi-night stay. I made sure to tip the housekeeper directly, to make sure it didn't end up in the wrong pocket as the super unhelpful, can't be bothered to print out a flyer female, who came by our door at 9:00 am and the day were due to check-out POUNDED ON THE DOOR (think, is there a fire loud) and when I opened it said, "CURTSEY CHECK, Just checking if you were staying over, you know, in case you needed something (then laughed)".... Super swell gal that one. Then, when we got home, we found this hotel had added an additional $50.00 charge to our credit card. When I called regarding this charge, same female said it was because we had ruined some sheets. I asked to speak to the manager, manager calls me back and said it's because "You GOT COFFEE ALL OVER OUR SHEETS"..... No, Nope, no coffee on the sheets.... "YES YOU DID", ok I said, send me a pic.... pic arrives, it shows one stain, no size reference and it doesn't look like a coffee stain....Still, not sheets from our room... I placed a complaint with our credit card, let the hotel know I wasn't paying that charge because those were not our sheets and when the credit card saw the pic and read my comments, they reversed the charge. STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE
The room was clean, the staff was pleasant and helpful, but despite a prominent sign requiring masks, other guests were not masked. At two other hotels on our road trip, this did not happen. This attitude carried over to a local restaurant where not even the waitresses or staff were masked! We did not feel safe in Ogallala. Opposite experience in Coralville Iowa.
There is nothing wrong with this hotel aside from the fact that they don't have any Do Not Disturb hangers. Two stays, two early morning Rooster Calls by housekeeping. Not a good start to my day. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel.
WE had 2 trucks moving from Arizona to South Dakota. There was ample space to turn the trucks around to get back out of the parking lot! We had 2 queen beds that were very comfy! Breakfast was a hot meal even with COVID going on! Staff was really friendly!
Dear Best Western, I've worked on the road for eight years. Spire Elite at IHG, Platinum Elite at Marriott, you get the idea- lots of hotels. I don't leave TripAdvisor reviews because my experiences at mid-tier brands (Holiday Inn, Marriott Fairfield, etc.) are fairly comparable. The rooms are clean, the wifi works, the breakfast is hot. That is, until I met the general manager Gary. I have never been so frankly bamboozled and disrespected at a hotel. Starting at check-in, I ask the friendly desk agent to use my Best Western gift card. She is new at the position and does not know how which is completely understandable. So she summons the general manager, Gary. Starting off, he's pulled his mask down. He proceeds to tell me that he'll need a printed copy of the gift card. I don't have one in 2020; it's on my phone. And so I ask, can I hold the room with a credit card and give him the printed gift card later in the day? No, he says, that would mean he has to reverse the charges on the card and then reapply them to the gift card. To my mind, this would be the point of a hotel reservation system but ok, printed it is. I do some problem-solving for myself and email the gift card to the front desk agent and she prints it for Gary. But there's a rub. I want to use more than one gift card. Oh boy, sighs Gary, that'll be a pain. Because I'll have to enter each one into the reservation system and make a separate transaction for each one. My eyes glaze, my interest fades, and so fine, just use one of the gift cards. He thanks me for only using one gift card. Things are great. The room is modern, spacious, positively delightful. I go to check out and ask a different front desk agent for an itemized receipt. Maybe she knows a trick Gary didn't, never hurts to ask right? She is stymied and calls Gary again. He is, again, maskless and two feet away. The Best Western “We Care Clean” advert plays above the elevator at this point as my eyes glaze, my interest fades, and there's nothing to be gained here. I leave politely. This is Sunday morning. I then go on down I-80 to the Best Western in North Platte for the next night. What a great time there- they take my gift card on the first try and give me an itemized receipt. Well, I think, maybe I can just send him the itemized receipt from North Platte and there's some magic button he could push to create an itemized receipt. Or failing that, he could call North Platte and ask them how they performed this wizardry? And so I email him: “Below you will see what N. Platte gave me. Perhaps you could do the same?” This is Monday morning. Monday afternoon, Gary emails me back. To quote: “Absolutely not. The way you left that room was disgusting. There was vomited and urine all over the bathroom. We have to remove everything out of there and disinfect the whole room!” I'm 31 years old with a firm grasp over my bodily functions & fluids. That didn't happen. But people lie as Dr. House says. I might be lying; how would you know? So I call and ask that afternoon- would you please send me photos? Of course, Gary said, I'm on it. He didn't call, email or text about the (alleged) damages or reach out afterwards with a receipt showing the amount of damages. So there's a few places this stay went south. (1) Gary won't hold my room on a credit card and then switch it over to a gift card. (2) Gary's not wearing a mask properly. (3) Gary doesn't want to apply multiple gift cards to one reservation. At the end of that interaction, he thanks me for taking them to the North Platte Best Western. When you are thanking your customers for not using their preferred means of payment, let alone a gift card to your establishment, something has gone terribly wrong in how your approach your business. Your customer should not feel like they are inconveniencing you with their business. (4) Gary's system won't give me an itemized receipt. Gary won't create an itemized receipt, by saying, editing the pdf folio and then signing it. I didn't ask for this but that would have been proactive. (5) Gary decides to charge me for damages. Again, that didn't happen. (6) Gary doesn't inform that he's charged me for damages. He doesn't call, text, or email nor does he provide a bill of any kind. He just deducted 100 bucks off my gift card and moved on. Leaving me to check the balance on the card and do some basic accounting to figure out what he did. Taking your customers money and not informing them is just the definition of shady. (7) Gary send the above email. Again, I disagree as to the facts. But calling your customers disgusting is just plain terrible customer & brand relations. I've worked retail. Customers are crazy, you can have your opinions and those get shared in the break room. But you don't insult your customers. Especially over email when they've done nothing but be polite. Inform of the facts (as you seem them, hah!) and state the damages. (8) Still waiting for Gary's photos of the alleged damage more than 30 hours after I check out. After a brand experience this poisonous, I will never stay at a Best Western again. They have lost a business customer with 150/nights a year out for life.
Location was great, right off the interstate. Very clean. Large screen tv was awesome! Check in person asked how many people would be having breakfast so they would be sure to make enough food. Breakfast and coffee were great. Staff was very friendly. Value was exceptional.
Rooms were updated, clean and well lit, with comfortable bedding and pillows. Staff was friendly. However whoever that's in charge of the breakfast should not be handling food. We understand during Covid time we should not expect anything more than basic. But the breakfast was not even edible. Also mask covering was not enforced and we saw a lot of guest walking/sitting around the breakfast area without masks on.
My check-in was friendly professional and fast. The room was very clean and comfortable, appropriate furnishings and amenities . After a long trip I appreciated the comfortable chair . Plenty of choices to eat supper nearby along with local groceries and gas stations . Breakfast was clean and very well done, the service was excellent!
Friendly, modern, clean, great value; used AAA discount. We arrived early for check in and the staff was helpful and friendly. Restaurants were close and varied. Had a pool but would have liked a hot tub (none present). Modern decor, large screen TV, internet, exercise room, continental breakfast (not the sack lunch type). Great stay!
Our pup found not just one but two copper pennies on the carpet. Fortunately we were able to catch her before she swallowed them. If she had, they'd have killed her. As I'm paid an extra fee for a dog friendly room, it should have been cleaned to really make it dog friendly, no dog toxins.
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The motel was modern. Rooms were bright and well lit. Had a warm breakfast that the server gave us. Restaurants are nearby. Definitely stay here again When driving through the area
I requested a quiet room when I made the reservation. I was given a room right by the elevator and with people on both sides of my room. Since the hotel was only 1/3 full at the most you could have spread us out. Must have been for the benefit of housekeeping. If you are shorter than 6'5" this is not the hotel for you. It took 2 tries for me to get up on the extra tall bed and I could not reach the shower nozzle so I had to take a shower in "mist". The next morning when it was time for a shower my husband saw a DRIED USED washcloth from a previous guest hanging over the shower rod. Nasty looking shower curtain. At breakfast it said bacon but it was ham. And cold omelets.
Brand new property. Super clean. The only problem was the shampoo/conditioner was not filled up in the bathroom after having already stepped into the shower. Also, bathroom fan did not work. But it was nice that you could order a full breakfast (biscuits and gravy) and not just get a packaged pastry like the other places are doing now. Would definitely stay here many more times!
This was the first time we ventured out to travel since covid. I looked for hotesl that listed their covid precautions and the Holiday Inn had good reviews. When we walked in sign on door requiring masks. The staff all had masks and six feet. Staff told us about breakfast and happy hour. We went down to happy hour - somone serving wine and beer with a mask. The room was very clean - no little bottles left around for people to touch. I liked the shampoo, conditioner and gel bottles in the tub. Breakfast was a sack with breakfast bar, muffin, fruit and water. There were breakfast sandwiches wrapped in refrigerator we could take to our room and heat up along with yogurt. We did not visit the pool or the exercise room. I would definitely go back there.
I was somewhat apprehensive due to some negative comments. Liz S was extremely friendly at check in. She asked if we needed suggestions for dinner. I said something very close and she suggested Margaritas. Great suggestion and when we returned she inquired about our dinner. Room was very clean, beds were comfortable, towels excellent quality and loved the Watkins products in the bathroom. Eva, did an excellent job taking orders for breakfast in the morning. They are practicing social distancing and they no longer have the do it yourself buffet. We did have early breakfast and the hotel was full due to labor day weekend. We met Sherry in housekeeping on her floor and she was very friendly too. We used points for our stay. Will suggest clients stay at this property.
We stopped at this Holiday Inn location on our way out west. Enjoyed the spacious room, cleanliness, and “guest” appeal. Breakfast was good and handled by one employee who wore gloves. COVID standards met by staff and guests. We stayed on our way back East. We were comfortable again with the cleanliness and service received. Thank you!
We checked in the evening of August 21st leaving the morning of August 23rd. When we got to our room there was a scratch on the tv however we thought nothing of it. Figuring they already new and documented and we were not planning to spend much time in our room anyway. It was not until September 12th which is almost a month later. They decided to charge me for this scratch. When I called for explanation Gary at the front desk stated he would look into it and call me back. He instead text me and said it was for the tv we scratched. So either they do NOT clean their rooms every time someone checks out or they "tidy" up and not closely check out and clean their rooms. Not to mention waiting 3 weeks to then use my credit card information. This information should NO LONGER be in their system as it was a one time stay not a reocurring visit.
Perhaps because it's a newer building, this is a clean hotel. The furnishings are modern, the beds are firm with plenty of pillows. We had a good nights sleep as the window shades kept out all the light from the parking lot.
Easy check-in, large, clean, modern room with big tv screen. Although the front door has signs saying that masks are required, we ran into several folks in the morning who were not wearing masks. We also had a bit of minor trouble with the bill at check-out, but nothing critical.
cancelled out at Holiday Inn Express next door and moved over to Best Western and it was like night and day...great staff and clean room with Excellent A/C and WiFi that worked!! also saved $40. in the process
This hotel is well located just off the interstate, and is a new and clean hotel. We felt comfortable staying there as we drove across the country during the pandemic. Our only complaint was that the people in the room next-door to us left their TV blaring all night. This was not something the hotel could control, however. I would stay here again.
Let me first. Everything looks nice. Look like a recently new hotel. When we went to walk through the front doors I noticed both trash cans were very full. I mentioned it to the girl at check-in. When we first got into the room I went to the restroom, I noticed a long hair on the floor. I continue to look around and saw more fuzzies and dirt in the corners. I grabbed the white towel dampened it proceeded to wipe up the hair and the rest of the fuzzies on the floor. I was not surprised that the towel was extremely dirty. And then continue to the entry when you first walk into the room and that also had not been cleaned. So with all of that it made me wonder if the sheets were clean. My grandbaby dropped something and it went under the bed oh, I went to retrieve it and instead got someone else's old food. We were on a two-night stay, However I wanted to leave and go somewhere else. I talked to the front desk about it Dan showed her the picture. She was apologetic. The next morning when we left the trash cans were still full. Later that day when we came back they were overflowing with trash. I again mentioned it. The next morning when we left they were STILL overflowing! Never GAIN!
I booked this property on the road a couple of hours before I arrived using hotels.com. And messed it up, booking a week later. Not sure how I did that as it's so simple to book for that night, but the evening receptionist didn't miss a bit and accommodated me on the fly. Thanks! I'm in a fancy Marriott in LA right now and they have no amenities available in the rooms whatsoever, leaving guests to fend for themselves for food and drink. Holiday Inn Express in Ogallala had hot water available, bagged breakfast 'to go' the next morning and seemed to handle the pandemic with aplomb.
This was one of the best hotels that I've stayed in. There was fabulous customer service at the front desk and the room and the hotel was clean and looked new. We loved it and the next time we're in the area we will stay there again. Again the people were very friendly, professional and personable.
I rely on Trip Advisor when finding a place to stay, so I am always looking at reviews. We only stayed one night, but I would definitely recommend this hotel. The king bed in our room was very comfortable, the room and bathroom were a nice size. We stayed in a handicap accessible room, so the bathroom had a spacious shower instead of a tub with shower doors instead of the typical curtain that sticks to you. The hair dryer had a night light which I appreciate. The fitness center was nice with two treadmills, one elliptical, and one bike, plus they had free weights. It was very clean and well taken care of. The breakfast was excellent (eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, make-your-own pancakes, and much more). The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay there again!
we decided to sop there becuase the friend I was driving with had their corporate card. After a late stop on an emegency drive from Colorado to Wisconsin, we stopped lae for much needed rest. We had a warm welcome and found incredibly perfect beds! Modern clean wondeerful rooms. The morning breakfast is a delight and I really appreciated the hard working and cheerful breakfast lady! Everything for breakfast is ready and cooking. The memory of those beds tempted us to push harder on our return trip 4 days later. They didn't disappoint ! Another great stay and good breakfast and we felt restored and able to get home. Thank You!
Fabulous customer service at the front desk. They aim to please. Quiet room with a free upgrade. Clean neat and right next to the interstate. It is either new or newly remodeled. Would definitely recommend. Exercise room was clean and very accessible. Breakfast was very good with three options of fruit. We will definitely return to this hotel.
Had to stop for the evening driving across the state. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. It was just as clean this time as last year. We would definitely stay again. Very convenient and close to many food options.
We have stayed at almost every place in Ogallala when we come to visit family and this is by far the best! New, clean, easy access with a Scooters Coffee across the parking lot! The breakfast is typical for Holiday Inn Express. Rooms are very large. They take pets!! You do have to pay $25 extra for pets.
We had a pleasant stay here. It's a new hotel, close to the interstate, very nice staff, and a nice free breakfast. Rooms are basic but clean and well appointed. Close to additional dining options too.
Stopped for one night on our way East. Clean room, and clean comfortable beds (most important part to me) . Pool was small, and no hot tub, I missed that somehow I guess I assumed if there was one there would be the other. Breakfast was easy to grab and go in the morning. All in all, good stay. No complaints. Also just across the street from a Walmart with Gas service, so we grabbed a few things we needed and gas and ice, and were ready for the next morning to leave first thing.
