Fortune Huddersfield, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Been to fortune hotel Huddersfield quite a few times now. Had breakfast a few times. But this weekend it appeared to be cold the hot sandwich and coffee machine was watery. Also we stayed in a room facing the nags head pub. Between 6am to roughly 8am was extremely noisy with deliveries/binmen. Would hopefully ask for a motorway view next time. But hotel is lovely and staff very friendly and polite Love staying at the fourtune hotel

Unsafe and Unwelcoming Stayed with my well behaved 7 year old this weekend. Room was fine and spacious, bathroom facilities all good and clean and a comfy bed BUT we had an issue on the Saturday morning that ruined the stay. Despite us basically having just got up and not moved as so far as using the toilet (around 8am) we get a knock at the door from staff saying there has been a noise complaint. I didn't think anything of it at the time and assumed it was the wrong room they had targetted and these things happen. The little one was a little upset as she had been sitting watching TV since getting up. We continued our morning, got ready and acted normally making no excess noise or indeed much noise at all only to receive another knock saying the chancer downstairs had once again complained. There was no noise made and it was clear at this point either the person below was trying to get a discounted rate or the staff were coming to the wrong room to deal with the complaint. We also recieved a phone call from what I assume was reception and missed this call. That means we had three contacts in the space of an hour despite literally not moving. My little one was very upset understandably as she had barely moved an inch and had three approaches for noise complaints that were untrue. This ruined what should have been a relaxing morning and she was hesitant to go in the shower, go to the toilet etc because of the way these unfounded complaints were handled and was walking around the hotel on tiptoes. This caused her unnecessary anxiety and as mentioned ruined our stay. As we were leaving a middle aged man in the entrance approached us to ask what room we were staying in. Why was a middle aged man wanted to know what rooms kids were staying in? This made us feel a tad unsafe also. Shan't be returning and would not recommend Room - spacious and best was decent. But a slight musty smell, a constant noise from building next door but bathroom always clean, room service great and a generally comfortable stay physically but above issues ruined the experience Breakfast - poor but we knew going in there wasn't a proper breakfast option. Grab and go was fine but again breakfast was ruined by above experiences Facilities - None but again we knew that going in. The pub literally next door is nice.

I recently stayed at the Fortune Hotel, New Hey Road for 5 nights. I was placed in a disabled room (no idea why) with a wet room, which never actually dried out. The floor was wet all day. The room was a little bit shabby, paint missing off the wall, disabled pull switch in the bathroom dangling on the floor but nothing too important. I did, however have a nightmare with my room key. I had just completed a 6 hour drive from Somerset, so the last thing I needed really!!! On two occasions, I had to have staff let me into my room because my key didn't work. I spent a lot of time outside my room door, trying to get it to work. The staff were brilliant and most helpful, and cant fault them. Bit disappointed in the breakfast option, which would have been ok, but for the overcooked bacon. Very much like shoe leather on the Sunday morning! Not an overly pleasant experience, but one which I am unlikely to repeat. Sad really, I stayed here when it was a Premier Inn, and it was a much better experience. Where it's important or not, I shan't stay again. Sorry.

Amazing staff very comfortable beds bath a little small and Internet on and off but staff sorted that out straight away. Great olace to stay

This had the ability to be a 5/5. Tbh e room was comfortable and clean, it was kitted out with everything you need. In it is a shame for the staff who clearly work hard because it was spotless. Unfortunately we barely slept because of the heat. The window only opens about 3 inches and there's a busy noisy road going past the window. The air con didn't work and the fan was less than useless Breakfast looked like a terrible arrangement we give that a swerver. All in all I wouldn't stay there again because of the room temperature which is a shame

Two things spoil this hotel, BW's instance that they only make your room up after 3 nights by default ( but you can ask for it to be made up more frequently) but I wasn't told that. And the 2nd is the ‘Grab & Go' breakfast , where you pre order a breakfast roll of either bacon sausage or egg omelette then collect in a paper bag along with a drink of choice and pastries and take it back to your room. Basically BW's model is a Temu version of Travel Lodge. Both of these practices are about cost cutting and maximising profits whilst still charging high prices The best thing about the Hotel is the front of house staff , very polite, nothing is too much trouble. I travel a lot for work but I'm afraid to say I won't be staying and anymore Best Western Hotels

Plenty free of charge no hassle parking, we just needed to let reception have our registration plate details. The lady on reception was cheerful, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean with a bath with a shower over it (unfortunately stuck to the roof so I had to duck and dive the day I didn't want to wash my hair). There were enough towels and pillows. There was a kettle and tea tray, a TV and reasonable wardrobe and storage space. The pub next door is very pleasant and serves food and although we didn't go in on this occasion we have done before. Breakfast to go was included and they had a reasonable variety for me as a vegetarian. The check out time was good at 11:00. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel was clean and good value for money, however the breakfast was lacking and no eating facilities at the hotel. If this was a Best Western Hotel it was not as good as others that I have stayed at. It is a shame as I have always had a good all round service at Best Western Hotels in the past.

Don't get me wrong, The Fortune looks ok, its even in a great spot with easy access to major roads. The staff are helpful and accommodating: they do their best. Oh, and the parking is ample, thats a positive too. But the room, the accommodation itself, left so much to be desired. Even when I first opened the door, the room smelt musty.. terrible first impression and one I could not shift. Sure, the staff are nice and helpful but overall, I would pick somewhere else to stay next time.

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly, welcoming. Had a laugh with the staff, I really liked it. The atmosphere were great. I would defo go again. The bed was comfy, the room was cleaned, the room had a kettle and complementary hot drink satchet. It was value for money.

Horrendous experience overall, poor sleep and awful breakfast. Room OK, but very poor soundproofing, could hear everything from the room above. Definitely would not recommend too anyone. Unless you don't mind a restless night and terrible breakfast.

Really enjoyed the stay even under some family circumstances. Both women at reception were fantastic, sorry I can't remember the names! (Both blonde/Brown) made me feel really welcome. Fantastic customer service!

I stayed here to be close to my parents. The staff are really helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Ample car parking. The covid safety measures are all sensible and proportionate.

Last stayed here the night before lockdown started. Back again now I'm working again. Stayed 3 nights and just couldn't fault it. Usual PI great quality, excellent value, very comfortable bed, and extremely clean room! Not sure about the fire alarm at 2.30am though lol

Stayed for 7 nights in early September visiting family & friends. From arriving and being advised of Covid alterations ie no cleaning of room during stay (which was expected) all delivered with a pleasant approach and a smile,a smile that was always there on all staff whether morning afternoon or evening. We had no problem getting clean towels when required additional milk etc We have stayed here before and will definitely stay again. Great Staff all of You Thanks

Stayed here the night before the country went on official lockdown (Monday 23rd march). This is a typical great quality PI hotel. Very comfortable hypnos bed. Sparkling clean room. M62 is literally metres away but you can't hear it at all. Only minus point was restaurant and pub was closed due to the virus risk. Will definitely be back once I can work again!

From entering, during and leaving the standard, quality and service were excellent. Although within metres of the m62 there was no traffic noise and had a really comfy nights sleep, as this Inn does not have dining facilities a complimentary range of breakfast snacks are available which is a great idea.
