Room was lovely. Kitchenette was well equipped. Breakfast was very good. Pool & hot tub were fun. Very clean, good service, complimentary water bottles at check in was a nice touch, parking was great. We will definitely return to this location.
Clean hotel with spacious rooms and great free breakfast. Great location with lots of parking. They are very pet friendly. Pool is clean and fun. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay right off the TransCanada highway just outside of Winnipeg.
After a long day travelling across all 3 prairie provinces we pulled in and were very pleased you had a room for us. The room was clean and even with all the trucks next door it was quiet. Nice area to walk our dogs. Good selection for breakfast. Thx
A great hotel. Clean, comfortable, with friendly and professional staff. Great breakfast, too! I mean, I'm a big fan of Denny's for brekkie, and there's one right next door, but I opted for the free one at this hotel instead - that's saying a lot! :)
Clean rooms, facilities looked well cared for. Breakfast nook has pancakes and waffles, so I was not too upset that the hashbrowns were dried out and cold. I had a double Queen room one night and a king room a different night. Both rooms had a nice open feel and not cramped. The king had an anemic hand shower which made me think I was in a wheelchair room, as the bathroom had a lot of space for no other reason. Good quality toiletries and keurog machine on the rooms. Digital cable decent ac output, lots of parking with a Flying K station across the parking lot. I will stay here again.
We've been traveling across Canada and back. Have stayed here four times in past two years. This new hotel has the best breakfast set up we've seen. Lots of choices and staff on hand to help out. Nice clean and friendly hotel. Nice pool for families. Highly recommend!
I have been in a lot of hotels in the last 4 months. This was one of the better hotels. From the simple things like the shower bars being installed correctly (curved bar with fasteners facing upwards so you can secure the shower curtain) to speedy elevators. The staff was friendly and diverse. This is the first hotel I have stayed at in the last 4 months that had caucasian people at the front desk. Diversity and inclusion is important, but it should never limit the local population from being able to work. The only negative point would be the breakfast. It was average based on other hotels. But, if there was a better selection it would have created a better experience. I understand that not everyone likes all seasoning. But, no seasoning and no option for seasoning is disappointing. And, they need to wash potatoes before cooking. The earthy taste is off-putting. The pool and hot tub are nice. On site laundry is a big plus for frequent travelers. There are vending machines that offer a decent variety. They also have items for purchase at the front desk. The rooms are pretty standard space wise. Beds are average. Two phones in every room is a bit excessive, but a nice option I guess. But with everyone having cell phones these days, it is rather unnecessary. Overall, it was a nice stay.
We booked for a family of 5, the rooms were large. All the beds were comfortable even the pull out couch.
This was our first hotel on a big road trip east. There was nothing particularly impressive or memorable about the hotel BUT the kids loved the pool. Water slide, mushroom waterfall thing, warm whirlpool, and they could touch the bottom everywhere which was nice. The room was clean. A bit run down, bathroom was pretty tiny, but the beds were pretty comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was good. Lots of options. My family loved the French toast. The coffee wasn't great but there was free hot chocolate in the lobby and it was very delicious according to my family. I enjoyed the water bottle filler on the main floor. We would stay again as a utility type stay.
I always check here first when I have to spend the night near Winnipeg. I'm a trucker and they are convenient to Flying J and have great water park type swimming facility
The people answer the phone are very friendly From June 3-5, 2024. We decided last minute to do a staycation. We had a suites with a pull out couch, wall and kings bed and the bathroom was in middle of room .They have variety rooms for mini staycation. The staff could be more friendlier at front desk. The manager could be friendlier, he did not interact with the guests. I don't know her name. The night staff were friendly, I don't know her name. The whole place is very clean and they have little convenience store on site that they own. They sell chocolate bar / pizza pop and mini chicken pot pie and chips and ice cream sandwiches. They have nice pool and hot tub. They need to keep adjusting the temperature for the hot tub to keep It hot . The pool temperature is good. They have lazy river in the pool. There are lots of lounge chairs in the pool area. They a free breakfast; baked beans and hard boiled eggs and hot eggs and sausage and omelet. They have yogurt, waffle/ pancakes. They have whipping cream coffee cream and soya milk. They have fancy coffee maker in the front lobby that makes espresso or French vanilla or regular coffee or hot chocolate plus grind coffee. The hallways are very clean and the rooms are very clean. The pillows are very comfortable and the beds are very comfortable. They have lots of TV channels. That's nice. The room cleaners are friendly. They have drink machines and vending machines on each floor. Only things close to hotel is Denny restaurants and flying jays truck stop. I have really have no issues with this hotel. I've stayed here a couple years ago same thing and staff are not as friendly compared to other hotels. They could train staff to be more friendlier.
NOT SMOKE FREE The whole second floor smelled of marijuana, from our check in at 2pm to checkout next day 8am. We complained twice we were here as a family and nothing was done. Apparently this is not a smoke free hotel, so not sure why we choose to smoke a cigar outside.
Room was okay, tub really old and small. Bed was hard, linens and pillows were nice. The worst was the breakfast. Minimal selection was out, food was cold. Pastries cold and dry. 3 young girls working but mostly sitting and chatting, one on her phone. Not sure we would stay again.
Our stay was for a medical appointment....the hotel was very clean and our room was excellent.....very comfortable beds and bedding!
Would highly recommend this hotel, it's on #1 highway, but you don't hear traffic at all Great breakfast, nice pool and hot tub.
Room was excellent and the Complimentary breakfast was always great. Phone and in person staff were very helpful and pleasant. Online booking was very easy and calling direct to the hotel with any changes was excellent.
This is my go to home away from home. The staff here are super friendly. The rooms are large, clean and fresh. The pool is big and pool area is super clean. Breakfast is always hot and lots of variety.
Stayed here for 4 nights and my 6 year old daughter found a needle in our room. The lack of concern from the staff was shocking and when I addressed it with them, they seemed annoyed. Likely at the situation; however, when a child finds a needle in your so called "clean" establishment, perhaps you can muster up even a fake or concerned expression instead of the eye roll I was greeted with. I am well aware that the hotel staff have zero control over it's guests; they do however have control over their cleaning practices. This needle was not in an inconspicuous place and judging by the treasures found while staff searched the room, it is evident the cleaning standards have been subpar at best.
We have never had any issues at this location. Our daughter loves the pool and water slide. The rooms are always clean as well as the rest of the hotel. We stay often for sports and shopping as we live out of the city. It's close to shopping and always friendly staff.
Loved the stay, my family and I enjoyed the pool and the breakfast so much. Hotel is not too far from Winnipeg which makes it easier if you'd like to grab a bite at a restaurant near by or get your food delivered to you!
We've stayed here about 5 times and love this hotel. Clean, easy check in/out. Breakfast options are amazing. And large rooms. The kids love the fast slide and vending machines. Staff is always friendly. Pillows suck and only carry one style. Beds are comfy otherwise.
We have stayed at Best Western Properties from Eastern Canada to Western Canada and have always enjoyed our stays. Check in is easy, and the breakfast is top notch. We will be using Best Western again.
I had a great stay during the weekend of September 22nd-24th as it was the weekend of the wedding. Shanu, who was an employee working the front desk that weekend was fantastic to myself, friends and family as she was extremely helpful in providing excellent customer service.
The hotel is nice enough. The rooms have no carpet in them which probably make them easier to clean but are cold and hard on the feet. We had a problem in our room and a friendly front desk person came to fix it but did not know how too. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there was not one on duty. I called Best Western customer service and they called the hotel and were told they could not do anything and then Best Western customer service said they could do nothing else except file a complaint and at some point the manager might get back to me. The clerk at the desk when I checked out asked how our stay was, I replied terrible, she looked at me and handed me the bill. It is worth noting Best Western does not guarantee your satisfaction unlike most other chains and their head office will not take any responsibility for what goes on at an individual property. So my advice stay somewhere else. By the way 2 parts of our room were devoid of furniture
This year we stayed at a few different hotels across western Canada but found that the Best Western Plus Winnipeg West was the best at value, service and security.. It has a pool but as we checked in really late we did not use it.
Great place to stay easy access to all parts of Winnipeg plus a great breakfast. Pool and workout room plus friendly staff. What more could you want. Pet friendly and close to restaurants shopping and Jets practice facilty
The breakfast was the worst I've ever had, dried overcooked sliced ham, French toast like rubber and quiche also dried out. I'm an elite member and the check in was totally frustrating and flwaes with errors. This hotel charges are way too high?
We definitely enjoyed our stay there! Friendly customer service, kids loved the pool area, and the breakfast was great! We will definitely return and stay for another family trip! Definitely recommend for families!
One guy is racist. He will literally plug his nose while walking past people not of his race or make no eye contact or respond unless they are his race. He's the only one nobody else acts like that. He doesn't like indigenous people at all.
This hotel is top of my list to return. Nothing but a great experience. Clean, friendly and service with a smile. Staff alway greeting when walking by the front desk, inquiring if everything was good or if we needed anything to make our stay better.
Staff was super friendly from moment we walked in. (Didn't give us directions on where our room was/how to get there so had to ask) If you are a light sleeper then may be up throughout the night… heard all guests talking/walking down the hall. Bed was harder than I like but still comfortable
Front desk told use everything was working. Arrived to out of service hot tub and splash pad fountain. Worst beds i have ever slept on. Sheets and quilt are sand paper. Air jet tub in room was not working. Which is gross
We stayed here last summer and things seem to have declined quite a bit since then. The mini Fridge door wouldn't seal or stay closed, so we had to prop it shut with the recycling bin. Air conditioner didn't work - it muggy and warm in our room the whole night. The air was blowing but didn't do a thing to control the humidity. Found a live tick on the floor right when we arrived. Toilet seat didn't fit tight and slid around when on it Carpet was dirty looking and feeling. Walls were dirty and dinged up Furniture was worn - plastic was scratched and dinged up No usb ports on lamps or alarm clock. Breakfast was great though! Friendly staff.
Clean and modern. Great indoor pool and slides, comfortable room but a/c fan can be noisy at night, breakfast was fine, convenient location when you're on a road trip, would stop here again if I needed too
This location is next to Denny's & within walking distance to Tim Horton's ,plus it serves a wonderful breakfast.(self serve) The pool, waterslide, & hot tub area are great for all ages, saw a couple older ladies using the waterslide! Nicely done! It also has a fitness centre. Very clean, & a friendly staff.
Perfect stay. Friendly staff, check-in was easy. The room was immaculate and quiet. A solid choice if you are in the area. Easy on/off to Trans Canada with parking near the entrance. Breakfast is included and they had a nice selection including fresh fruit. Would stay again.
Convenient to the Trans-Canada Highway...right beside a gas bar. Hotel reception was good, staff very efficient, explaining everything we needed. The room was fine...not exceptional, but completely comfortable. No great problems. We departed early, so did not partake in their complimentary breakfast
We had no water pressure and asked for someone to look at it. We were told someone would come in the morning and no one did. We asked again and no one came. On check out all we received was a free late check out.
I should start this review off with all of the good points, because the bad points . . . well, they're frustrating. The positive things I found about the Best Western in Headingley: - The room was clean with new floors and (mostly) quality furniture - The bed was quite comfortable - The room was very large, giving us plenty of space to live in - The breakfast options changed each day, giving you a variety of options - The pool area was amazing - Easy access to the hotel right off Trans Canada Highway 1 - The shower/tub was accessible, for any potential clients who need help getting in and out of a tub But I'm not here to write a splendid review about this hotel. I'm here to warn fellow travellers about subpar customer service, AC units that can't actually keep the large rooms cool, faulty electrical outlets and missing lamps. And the hotel's stubborn refusal to either fix the unit or admit it's broken and they can't fix it. The first thing I noticed when I entered our room on the 4th floor of the Best Western in Headingley on Monday, July 3rd was that the room was stuffy and warm. A quick search of the spacious but dim room revealed a panel on the wall with the label “Do not lower under 64 degrees or unit will break”. Well, that was concerning to begin with, but when I went to touch the panel, I realized that it wasn't even on. Instead, I went to the window and opened the panel on the AC unit and saw that it was set to 72 degrees—or 22 degrees Celsius. I immediately dropped that down to 68 degrees and the AC finally turned on. Except . . . it turned right off less than four minutes later, while we were unpacking our clothes. We were going to be staying at this Best Western for more than 7 days, so unpacking and getting comfortable was definitely in the plan. I went back to the AC and fiddled with it again, pressing the button to have the fan be on continuously, so at the very least we could get some air circulation in the room. About twenty minutes later, the AC itself kicked back in. But again, for less than five minutes. When a couple hours went by and it was obvious the AC unit seemed to be struggling with staying on for more than three minutes and forty seconds (we timed it), we called down to the front desk and told them the unit wasn't working properly. They promised they would send someone in the morning to look at it. I'd like to pause here and also describe another problem we experienced. The room itself was incredibly dim, even with every single light on. There was a light in the main entryway, a lamp on the desk, and two wall lights, one on either side of the bed. The lamp on the desk also had an electrical outlet built into it, but the moment my husband tried plugging something in, the item lit up for a minute and then lost its contact. The socket was loose and if you wiggled the plug, you could get a second or two of electricity, and that was about it. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but an electrical socket with live electricity that is faulty is a fire risk, is it not? So we also requested that maintenance fix or replace or even remove this safety hazard from our room during that first phone call. The following morning, we left the hotel and headed to Walmart to buy a few things. Feeling suspicious that our needs were not going to be met, I bought a desk fan, and a small thermometer so I could keep track of the actual temperature in the room. We also bought a power bar because there was literally only ONE free electrical outlet by the bed, and between charging phones and my husband requiring a CPAP machine, one outlet simply wasn't going to cut it. I suppose that one is on us though—I've often brought along a power bar on other trips, after spending time on a cruise ship where there's virtually no outlets either. This time we simply didn't think of it. We did not come back to the hotel room until the evening, at which point we were greeted by a stuffy, warm room once again. Not only did it look like no one from maintenance showed up, but now the fan on the AC unit was off again! So I turned the fan back on, pulled out my thermometer and found the room to be about 24 degrees Celsius (75 F)—and certainly not the 66 degrees Fahrenheit I had set it at, which should have had the room at a nice 19 degrees Celsius. So I brought the AC down to 64 degrees in the hopes it would at least make the room liveable. Checking the outlet built into the lamp revealed that also had not been touched. We called down to the front desk where they told us they had no notes on someone having to come to our room during the day. They sent the night manager/maintenance guy up to our room and he sat down on the floor in front of our AC unit and poked at it. He confirmed there was something wrong with the unit and that someone would FOR SURE be up the next day to fix the unit. He'd make sure of it. He offered to put us in another room for a single night—just us to sleep in for an emergency, while all of our items remained in our room with the broken AC unit. We opted out of that and I set up my new desk fan to help circulate the air in the room. We got up the next day and went on our way. We arrived in the evening to, yet again, a stuffy hotel room. The AC fan had turned off again. The socket on the desk lamp—still broken. We call down to the main desk and were told that maintenance apparently “fixed” our AC unit. We tell them this is untrue, that it's still unable to keep the room cool. That the lamp is still broken. The main desk tries to blame the heat outside—but even they have to admit in the end that's probably not true when we argue that it hasn't gotten hotter than 25 degrees outside during the day and has gown down to about 14 each night. We are also told that all the table lamps with sockets are broken; that's just the way it is. Another promise that maintenance will come up the following day. We are promised a discount off our bill. During the night, the continuous fan—which I've turned back on—TURNS ITSELF OFF. Meaning no air circulation in the room. What. Even. How on earth do they think this is “fixed?” It's worse than before! The next day we were in the room when a maintenance guy shows up. He removed the front of the AC unit and looks at it, and asks a few questions. The answers remain the same since the first night: The AC turns on for less than 4 minutes and then shuts off. It does not turn on again for 20-30 minutes. So yes, the AC is blowing cold air, but not for long enough to actually get the room cool. We are told that the room is not getting cool because we have the continuous fan on and that the AC can't work properly with the fan on. That the continuous fan makes it think it's cool. I'm sorry . . . what?! Never, ever have I encountered an AC unit that doesn't cool the room just because the fan itself is on, too. But hey . . . we do what the guy says and turn off the continuous fan, and sure enough . . . our room is stuffy and hot when we get back that night. I lower the AC down to 62 because, what the hey, it's already broken… so why not? My thermometer NEVER goes beneath 21 degrees Celsius. Which means it never gets cooler than 70 degrees. That's an 8 degree difference between the AC unit's display and my tiny thermometer from Walmart! EIGHT DEGREES FARENHEIT DIFFERENCE. This continues until Sunday morning when we receive a phone call in the room offering to move us to another room on the same floor. We pack up our things and drag everything down the hall—and lo and behold, this room's AC is actually keeping up. Here is where I get very frustrated—earlier in this review I mentioned that our room was very dim. It turns out, not only was the AC unit faulty in our room, but we were missing a floor lamp! This new room is identical to the last, except for a few things. Most importantly, aside from a working AC, the fact that there is a floor lamp behind the easy chair! One extra light to help make such a dim room a tiny bit brighter! It goes a long way! Further more, the easy chair in our last room is also MISSING a piece. There is a little tablet that can be inserted into a slot on the arm, giving you a spot to put a drink or snack or even a laptop. Did we have that in the last room? Of course not. I'd been wondering what those slots were for! So how many problems can I now count, that we had to put up with for 6.5 days? Let me count the ways. 1. An AC unit that could not keep the room cool—to the point where it was noticeably cooler in the hallway 2. The same AC unit whose continuous fan would sometimes just turn off for no reason 3. A table lamp with a faulty outlet that's probably a Health and Safety violation (apparently in every single room in the hotel, no less) 4. A missing floor lamp to help light the room 5. A broken chair with missing parts We left on Monday. We were supposed to stay until Wednesday, but a family member offered to let us stay at their place for the remainder of our trip and we jumped at the chance. I'm sure you can imagine why. As apology for the subpar service and the claims that they'd fixed the unit even though they hadn't? 50 dollars off our of 7 night stay. 50 dollars even though we contacted them every single day to let them know their AC unit wasn't working properly. 50 dollars when our room was missing a floor lamp, our easy chair was clearly broken, and there was a faulty outlet. 50 dollars off of a 7 night stay in which the room rate varied, but came to roughly 160 a night. The discount was about one third of one night out of seven. The problem was never solved. The front desk, on numerous occasions, tried to tell us why we were wrong. They claimed it was too hot outside (despite it being a cool week in the Headingley area). They didn't tell us the lamp outlets simply didn't work throughout the entire hotel until the third call. They kept trying to tell us the AC unit had been fixed, even though clearly it hadn't been. Fifty dollars. Off a bill that cost more than a thousand. That's what an apology from the Best Western Headingley looks like. Don't stay here's. It's not worth it.
Such a wonderful hotel, great breakfast and the staff is so friendly and wonderful! The pool was amazing and our kids loved the water slide I would 100%. Recommend staying here when your in Winnipeg hands down
We are always treated well staying here. If we bring grandchildren they love the pool and water slide. They are relatively big eaters so we appreciated the many options for hot breakfast to start the day. If we travel by ourselves we appreciate the comfort and quietness of the rooms. It's close to where we need to be so overall it works great for us.
Conveniently located next to the Trans Canada Highway, a Shell station and Denny's. short drive into the city for restaurants and shopping. Our room was clean and well maintained, quiet at night. Lots of parking. Breakfast is included and it was very good for a hotel breakfast. Staff are friendly and obliging. Very satisfied with our stay here.
The Best Western plus Headingley gets a 10/10 from us. The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool, slide and hot tub are always a hit with kids and adults alike. Staff came around to restock towels and even went around and hit the buttons on the wall to keep the slide on and the hot tub bubbling. :) Breakfast is phenomenal as always with a wide variety of foods. In the evening they even had a pot of chicken rice soup with a sign that read 'Warm up after a long day with a bowl of soup'. Best Westerns never cease to impress and the price point for service and amenitiesis unbeatable. And the beds and pillows are dreamy. We all had an excellent sleep
We have stayed here before and have always enjoyed it. We decided to take the kids for a little getaway, so they could swim, relax, and have some fun. The hotel did not disappoint. The front desk clerk was incredible. She was helpful and had us checked in within seconds, even though I had a voucher for her to deal with. The rooms were spacious, and the pool area was clean. The breakfast options were endless and they were all hot and fresh. Definitely recommend this hotel!
We stayed from January 1st to 3rd. A few of my son's hockey team mates were staying here for a tournament at the Iceplex. I found the room to be clean and comfortable. The kids were disappointed on the second morning of our stay as the pool had to be closed for cleaning. We were told that someone had gotten sick in the pool. As this is something out of the control of the staff, I cannot fault them as they did work hard to get the pool clean and open. The kids played mini sticks in our rooms to pass the time. Even though there were other teams staying and doing these things, I found the hotel to be quiet and the noise didn't seem to carry. We will definitely be staying here agin
We went down for a Hockey Tournament & it was a great experience. Service and staff were very friendly & helpful. Definitely will return. The breakfast was very fresh and the coffee taste like home :)
The worst experience ever! Extremely noisy. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Old blood stains on bathroom door frame. Dirty bathroom. No shampoo and rude staff. The tv didn't work half the time. It ruined our day.
Very run down in rooms. A bit disappointed of condition of our rooms. We stay a BW hotels quite a few times each month and expected a little nicer. Breakfast was great, and location is awesome to get around and into Winnipeg.
Always enjoy staying at this Hotel location. Quiet. Rooms are a good size and comfortable. Good breakfast options. Close to gas and food amenities. Only a few kms from a mall with many stores. On the main strip so easy and quick access to many stores and restaurants.
Lovely staff and hotel. Great price, good location. I had a pet friendly room with my cat and the room smelled very strongly of wet dogs. Great breakfast buffet , overall great hotel and value. Would definitely choose this hotel again.
Stayed here for a family wedding. Very clean, quiet and close to anything you could need. I wish the pool hours were extended a little. I would love to use the pool and hot tub early in the morning. Breakfast bar was good
We were at the hotel for a mini-vacation , we had come to Headingley to visit with family and our grandkids over Thanksgivng. It was so nice that the grand kids could come and take advantage of the pool area, while we sat around the talked. Everyone had a excellent time. We have booked into Best Western again at the end of November 2022.
We had a great experience at the Best Western Plus - Winnipeg West hotel. My kids aged 7 & 4 really enjoyed the pool. We stayed at a double queen room, it was very spacious and we enjoyed the free breakfast as well.
Driving across the country and wherever we can we take advantage of BW hotels Winnipeg is a busy family hotel due to having water slides so it wasn't as quiet as usual but we managed a good night's sleep and breakfast was a good way to start the day next morning. Perhaps on the return drive we will not find it so busy and we will give it another try for sure.
Staff were friendly and helpful at this hotel. We were able to use the pool and hot tub area and found them exceptionally clean-better than most. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. We travel across Canada for a family reunion every few years, and I gather hotels that will be go-to in our stopping spots, and this one will definitely be on the list.
When in Winnipeg, we always try to book at this hotel. Always clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Wish that an airport shuttle service was available but do like the extended parking for no addition fees.
We stopped at this hotel on our way back home and we were very pleased with the cleanliness, location, staff and breakfast. Super comfy beds as well. They have a great indoor pool with a slide for kids. It looked amazing. The staff serving the breakfast were very friendly.
Went in for 2 nights. First thing we saw was a wet trail of garbage fluids starting from the lobby, through the main entrance and across the driveway to the big bin. Not a enticing sight. After being asked if we wanted a upgrade, and us saying yes, we unlocked the door to a wheelchair accessible room with a king sized bed. Lol……..Room stunk like someone urinated on the carpet and housekeeping shampooed it. Bed was lumpy and pillows were uncomfortable. It disappoints me to see what was once one of my favourite hotels slide downhill like it has on the last 3 or so years. Not sure if I'll ever stay there again :(
Always an amazing stay! The staff and service is excellent and the breakfast always has a variety even for my one picky eater! The staff are always willing to help if you need it! We love going there for the pool too! Its amazing!!! Thank you Best Western plus!!!
Rooms need repairs and mattresses updated Breakfast was very disappointing Staff were friendly and tried there best These are management issues not staff issues Would likely not choose this hotel again even
We needed to find a pet friendly hotel off the main highway on our way home to Calgary from Ontario. This location was perfect for that. I was immediately delighted when I walked into our room. Bathroom was very clean (and I am very picky with bathrooms) and the room was very spacious for us and our dog. Denny's and gas station right next door which made it very convenient to not have to leave the premises for food and gas. Lots of parking available. The pool looked really fun but unfortunately we didn't have time to check it out. Breakfast was good with a variety of hot and cold items. My credit card declined at check in for some reason but the front desk staff was quick, pleasant and accommodating to help me with the situation. Excellent value for the rate we paid along with a very low pet fee compared to what other hotels charge for a pet. It was one of our top hotel stays of the whole trip and the least expensive. Will definitely stay here again if we do another cross country road trip! Highly recommended
I love staying at Best Western Hotels. Best Western Plus Winnipeg West has a welcoming atmosphere and is staffed with a super bunch of people. The pool area was one of the best I have ever been to. The air was breathable, the pool water temp was perfect and the ambiance was inviting.
Check-in was fast and easy, room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was okay good variety. Friendly staff. Well lit outside and clean. The restaurant at the truck stop in the parking lot closes early.
The stay was fine except for the really terrible water pressure in the shower (that's enough for me to never stay here again), and the hands down worst hotel breakfast I've ever had. And we usually stay at about 8 to 10 different hotels per summer, so have lots of experience for comparison.
Location is great for easy access to the city, but your not in the city. Room was clean, carpet needs stretching as it's rippled. But it's clean. Complimentary hot breakfast, make it yourself. Staff friendly and seemed genuinely happy. I would stay here again.
Excellent for service,, good location on hyway 1 , gaz station and convinience store nearby , great value for the quality of the room, the breakfast, I recommand for family with Kids because there is a pool with waterslide.
We stayed here during our house Reno.my wife and kids love the place especially the pool and breakfast.I comfortable to leave them while I'm working with the renovation.very good job to all the staff.they are very helpful and willing to assist to assist.
This hotel needs to follow its company policy in guaranteeing room cleanliness. Window crank missing, chair cover was ripped and torn and stained; leftover crud on coffee table and sticky residue splashed in wall, floor and drawer handle. It's gine downhill.
Clean, quiet, accessible to highway, bed was comfy, pillows super fluffy. Overall a great stay. Breakfast was good, lots of choices (but no bacon or sausage), good coffee. Friendly staff and quick check in and out.
I recently had a short stay in a king suite at this Best Western and I was very impressed. Front desk was courteous and professional, room was extremely clean and the bed was nice and comfy. There was a bit of noise from the family above my room (foot traffic) but not so much to be a terrible distraction, the room itself doesn't allow for much noise to interfere with your stay, especially surprising considering the highway and truck stop are close by. All in all it was a really nice stay.
Love the location. Spent the day at the races with friends. We are from out of town so it's nice to have a close location to stay if we want to go back to the barns to see our horse. Busy hotel. Couldn't stay a second night or have a late check out because they were booked.
Booked reservation through Expedia. Excellent value received! High-end service and accommodations even for those on a tight budget. The included breakfast buffet is the best that I have ever had on the road. The pool and waterslide were exceptional. Only downer was that one of the pool water features was not working during our stay. Definitely would return to this hotel.
Our go to hotel in Wpg. Stayed for a ball tournament in Stonewall. Always clean, large rooms, great pool area ( with slide). Best breakfast we've ever come across! Full hot breakfast complete with waffle maker and pancake bar. Highly recommend!
This hotel was clean, bright and comfortable. This hotel is very close to the truck stop so it's very easy to park and book a room. Check in was smooth and friendly, and it was easy to find the room. The room was comfortable and clean - the bed was not too hard or too soft and the pillows were just right.
This is a clean and bright Hotel. Had the breakfast Buffet and it was perfect for us. Denny's is next door which is good for big Appetites. Staff friendly and courteous. Rooms clean and bed was very comfortable. The only thing is that the Pillows are too soft not much in firmness. Will bring my own the next time.
We stayed in a king suite, the room was spacious and quiet. Breakfast was well stocked and staff did a great job keeping the breakfast bar and tables clean. When the pool opened in the morning we found the pool area had not been cleaned. There were chunks of hair and debris floating in the water, tables were not wiped, debris on the floor (used tissue, used band aids, clumps of hair, garbage, etc), dirty towels, the garbage cans not emptied, empty beer cans on surfaces. When I brought the issue to the attention of the front desk I was informed the hotel does not clean the pool area after it closes, they just restock towels and empty garbage cans and did not know why the garbage had not been emptied. Staff also informed me that at shift change staff do not check the pool area to ensure it is clean before the pool opens.
The service was exceptional. The rooms were well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful! We took the trip as a little family get away, and it was a wonderful experience. Pool area was great, the rooms were cleanly and spacious. The breakfast included had options for the whole family, even the pickiest of kids!
I want to be fair here, this hotel was ok but nothing special... We actually stayed here because we thought the pool was kid friendly (from the pictures online) we found out this was not the case....the pool has no real shallow end for toddlers.....the slide was nice but the pool was COLD!!!!... the rooms were ok but at over $150 for a standard room they should have been better....our bathtub had a panel hanging off on it and the overall state of the room was used....for lack of a better term. Breakfast was simple and standard....but did have hot items... Like I said for a one night road stop this hotel would be OK.
Decided to take a dip with the kids. Found out hot tub is as cool as Pool. Mentioned to staff that pool and hot tub are on the cooler side. Only to find out they upped the heat in the area and not water settings.
Very nice hotel with very clean rooms. Gym was in good shape and also nice and clean. Breakfast had good selection of both hot and cold items. Check in was quick and easy. I always stay at this hotel due to its cleanliness and breakfast items.
Dirty pool…I saw at least one bandaid floating in it and my daughter caught an eye infection after swimming in it one time. We had to cut our 2-night visit short as a result. Asked for a call from the manager (Brianne) who argued with me there was no way my daughter could've gotten sick from the pool as they check it 4 times a day. This is contrary to what other staff at the hotel told me. From all the times we've stayed there, I've never seen anyone check the pool levels even once. The room was also less than ideal as the tub stopper didn't work so I couldn't even bathe my children after swimming. We usually love our visits to this hotel but as a result of this experience and the ensuing disappointing and tone-deaf manager call we will not be returning.
Room wasn't the cleanest, chip bags under the bed. Bed skirt had “stains” on it. Breakfast area was dirty. When we asked for extra blankets there was garbage in them then they gave us a mattress protector. Pool area was great, kids loved it.
Had an amazing stay, pool was awesome albeit crowded. Breakfast was great, lots of options to choose from. I would definitely comeback maybe on less busy days. Hotel is very clean and staff are amazing.
The breakfast that is offered is excellent, many options from quick cereal, fruit to pancakes and waffles. The internet was extremely fast and good connectivity. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
I have stayed at this location many times. The location is perfect for heading west or east on Hwy 1 because it is just minutes away from the turnoff. The staff was friendly and efficient. Although the hotel was full of kids because of spring break my room was quiet and spacious .
The room we had met our needs as it was a large suite. Enough to accommodate my family and I. The continental breakfast was great! Though more staff is required to address clean up and assisting people with the equipment to prepare the waffles ! Overall this hotel is great! Rooms are great, price is great! Pool area needs to be monitored more as number of people and children was heavy and chlorine in the pool was strong.
We stayed there this weekend with family (2 under 4) the pool was FREEZING even the kids could hardly get in and they're used to lake life. No pool towels. SO many people, some groups of 10 kids with 1 adult. Pushing, splashing, screaming, pushing and cutting people on the water slide stairs. Just absolute madness. You're not allowed food or drink in the pool area!! No crib for baby even though we requested in advance. The breakfast looked like it would be good but there were no tables available, no plates, and so many ppl that you couldn't even maneuver through the buffet. Couldn't find anything at all. It's like the hotel was not prepared or set up to have anything close to full capacity. As for the rooms. We had a king suite and the suite was very nice. The room was clean. The kitchen was nice. The fold out couch was very old and leather was cracked and you could not sleep on it. The floor was better. The king bed in the room was comfy though. Ultimately I would definitely never go back, but if you go during the week, don't bring kids, only use The hot tub (which was actually hot and nice!) and don't use the ice pool it would be ok.
Best Western Headingley is our favourite hotel to stay if we need to relax and my toddlers loves the swimming pool. Very approachable and accommodating receptionist and all the staffs are nice. Breakfast foods are so good and delicious. Facility is neat. So love to go there. In all, the hotel is perfect. So worth it
My family and I were looking forward to this staycation getaway. The hotel decently clean but the pool area was not. Taking our kids swimming was the whole reason for staying here. We won't be going back.
The hotel was nice, every experience always is. The hotel was packed. Our room was clean and quiet. I know it's a family hotel but the kids wandering around in the pool not swimming with there dirty outside shoes was disrespectful.
The breakfast and pool are great. The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The kids love the new pancake maker it was a great hit. They have a great variety of things for breakfast.
I did a staycation for one night We stayed on Feb 8 to feb 9 2022 The front desk staff vey friendly They are so kind at front desk The room clean very friendly Because I ask for laundry bag for my wet swim We book a king suite with Sofa bed and kitchenette I like pool and hot tub The Pool is very clean The hot tub very clean . We were stuck in a blizzard. We had a handicapped room with a shower that wouldn't accomodate someone in a wheelchair. Thankfully we are mobile people. Breakfast was adequate except as a whole food plant based eater extremely limited . The fruit was old and dried up. In a blizzard with a parking lot impassable we were stuck in the hotel. The pool was great . They really should have kept the coffee bar open after breakfast hours as the nearby restaurant closed because of staffing issues. The second night we had a different room and it was nasty. Smelly dirty broken outlets and remotes a ripped up worn out chair. The worst part was they were aware of the smell.. Some kind of sewer issue. UGH. For that they reduced my bill by 20 bucks. Whoop whoop I say sarcastically.
The location is perfect for us. The hotel is always well maintained. Plugin parking is welcome on cold winter days. This hotel is our preferred hotel when we travel to Winnipeg. We plan to stay in this hotel for both pleasure and medical trips. Other hotels are considered but rarely chosen.
Hi I am a long haul truck drive my and wife run team. This hotel it a great good oricr very friendly staff. Will to help out I have been staying her at this best western for 6 years and will not go anywhere else
Hotel itself is quite beautiful. But we experienced the bathtub and shower not working and when we asked to have a complementary playpen it came stained and smells disgusting. My daughter ended up just sleeping in bed with me because it was too gross to let her sleep in it. The breakfast have a Was delicious and great for a complimentary breakfast The hallways are noisy but there was a hockey team there but I did keep my kids that I made. Have a more sound proof rooms would be great
We decided to stay on the outskirts of the city rather than driving right in. We always have to pay for parking at the downtown hotels so thought we'd give this one a try in order to save some money. The price of the room was fair and our room was totally adequate. Our bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and was very quiet. Looks like a fun hotel for families as their pool area comes complete with a huge waterslide!! Breakfast in the morning was fine - had everything that we needed. Dennys Restaurant is next door. As we were heading east we were able to hop right onto the by pass highway from here and avoid going through Winnipeg!
I ended up staying here 3 days with my family after running into car problems while driving east. The staff were friendly and the room was spacious and very clean. The pool was large and had a waterslide for the kids. The breakfasts were delicious with many options. The only negative is it's not very walkable.
So enjoyed our stay, the personal were all friendly and kind and helpful.. Looking forward to a return soon. The pool area was clean and the temperature was very warm. The hotel was also very quiet when in our own room. Housekeeping was excellent and cared about the rooms and also cared about their jobs.
This hotel is the perfect family getaway. The pool is amazing with waterside and lazy river. The hotel had everything we needed traveling with 3 kids my youngest at 11 months had a playpen to sleep in, highchair in the breakfast area, candy available in the lobby for purchase, and coffee for mum. The breakfast buffet was fantastic something for everyone to eat. We will definitely be back.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Breakfast was awesome! We didn't have time to swim in the pool but it looked like a lot of fun! Overall, would highly recommend! The hotel was close to the highway which was convenient. Lots of parking out front. Also located right beside gas station which was great!
The Headingley location is well laid out, clean, and looked after. (Considering Co if challenges) The breakfast quality was unexpectedly high for an included meal and it really added value to my challenging work days. The staff was consistently courteous. BW has earned my firms loyalty for Winnipeg area travel.
This is th first time that we stayed in the best western hotel in winnipeg. I find it very attractive specially the location, i also noticed that the parking spots are plenty and its feel safe to park the vehicles. I highly qppreciate the good work of the receptionist at that time she was alone when we checked in around 4:30 pm sept 10 2021, i admire her proffesionalism at work and she is very proactive alway going above and beyond and excellent multi tasking. I reccomend best western to travellers and to those people who havent experience their accomodation. Thank you and keep up the good work mor power to you. Best wishes Fr. Jimboi and family
Save your self the time and book at the Best Western pembina. It's much better for breakfast, service and warm pool at 82…. This location had the coldest pool I have ever experienced my baby wouldn't even put her toe in it. The manager on duty ignored my request for a discount on my room as is we right next to the truck weigh scale and extremely noisy starting at 5am! We did sleep a wink. Our room also smelled like cigarette smoke… disgusting!
Stayed here with our family while visiting Winnipeg. Great pool/slide for our kids (ages 6 and 9). Rooms were large and clean. Breakfast was good (eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, waffles, pancakes ect). The downside is the location, not ideal unless you are needing to be close to Headingly. The only issue we had was kids running up and down the halls yelling until 11 pm. We called the front desk 3 times to inform them, but they failed to answer the phone. All in all not a bad stay.
Me and my 5 year old & dog stayed here for 2 nights while travelling to the east coast. Of all the hotels we stayed this was my sons favourite. The pool and water slide was a huge hit. Rooms were clean and breakfast was good
It is always nice to stay in a hotel that is close to the highway and is clean. The staff is very friendly and breakfast was good. The rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. I would recommend this hotel
Excellent staff and room was very clean. Bed was king size and very comfortable, Gave us a discount on a suite as we had no reservation and all other rooms were booked. Will definitely stay at Best Western Hotels from now on. Checked out at 5:30 a.m. and were given two takeaway breakfast bags. Very much appreciated. Whole heartedly recommend this hotel.
The Best Western Plus Winnipeg West is the nicest BW we have stayed at. Hotel was new, beds extremely comfortable and Air Conditioning unit was very quiet. Overall best stay on our recent drive from Ontario to Alberta and back.
I found this hotel adequate and used it quite often in trips. I was using my best western rewards so that when I traveled out of the north I would have a place to stay on my personal time. I know this hotel quite well and used it almost monthly for business since 2019. Recently I found out they had my rewards attached to the wrong account. So someone was benefitting from all my stays but not me. We did fix and get the correct account attached but when I asked about my reward points they said they were all gone. So, as easy as it would have been to look up the history and apply my rewards back this was apparently too much. I definitely did not give them some strangers account so it was their mistake. I just got the "oh well" attitude. This attitude frustrated me immensely and since they don't care about fixing their wrong I won't be using them again.
Great place, great staff, clean rooms good breakfast The pool was nice the wifi wasn't that great however, maybe they could fix that. Overall I enjoyed my stay and will continue to stay there in the future
Had an excellent stay. Suite was clean and spacious. The door that separated the livingroom from the bedroom was heavy duty. Couldn't hear a thing. I felt relaxed and comfortable during my stay. The breakfast was a great service.
Room needed updated, There were no usb charging ports in room, Staff was friendly and helpful, continental breakfast was available but no sit down eating due to covid-19. Felt price was high for what it was, i dind feel like it was up to a bw plus standards
We stayed overnight while we were having renos done at home. We chose to stay here because it was a newer hotel and they allowed pets. We had to take our cat with us because she doesn't do well with strangers in the home. She also doesn't do well in any environment outside her home so it was a bit challenging. Other than having to deal with drama our cat created for us, we have no complaints. Friendly service at check in and check out. Picked up hot breakfast in the morning. Room was very clean. Wifi good. Our fridge didn't work but we called front desk and had a new fridge within 10 minutes! Everything very clean and covid safe. All good reviews from us. Our cats review on the other hand was negative. Besides the window view, she felt that the room didn't offer enough places to hide. She was particularly upset that there was no under the bed space.
I never have a problem staying here. It's always clean, every single one of the staff I have ever encountered are pleasant and helpful. I would stay here over and over. Can't wait until they can open the pool again!
Staff was great - we had 2 dogs with us - got the suite great size , good for the dogs to run around and burn off some energy, breakfast was quick and efficient , overall was the best western I have ever stayed at - Kudos to the staff
I had reserved a Two Queen Room with a couch bed, but due to a misunderstanding, we were booked into the wrong room type. The girl who was working on the 10th evening listened to my concerns when I told her. She asked clarifying questions and when I asked her if we could be moved to what we had thought we were getting, she took the time to get us into the correct room. She (like all front desk staff) probably deserves more money than she makes, please take care of these humans! The girl working in the morning was also lovely.
Nice rooms and facilities. Great location for avoiding city traffic is your not needing to head into Winnipeg. The new COVID breakfast requires a wait for a very limited choice of food. With younger kids the breakfast wasn't a great fit. Also limited pool hours and people in the pool area - the hotel wasn't busy so this wasn't a problem but you could be forced to wait in line for a chance to swim on a busier day.
We found the hotel very clean, neat and the friendly staff were most helpful. Being able to leave our vehicle there and not have to worry about while we were away for the week was very satisfying. Knowing that a cab can get you to the airport in 20 minutes was also good to know.
The room was clean and the breakfast was great. Just wasn't happy with the communication on the type of room I booked. I feel instead of insisting I booked the room wrong when I showed what I booked to just satisfy the customer staying
Small Party was a success because of amenities & pool! Staff took extra care to meet & exceed our needs during our stay :) we are very happy with the entire experience , we would stay again & recommend others to stay too
Stayed here the night before we flew away for a vacation. Excellent stay. Was able to park and fly our car here for the price of a one night stay. Was able to plug in. Very good value. Airport was 20 minutes away .
After a long day of winter driving and travel we stayed here for one night on our way west. The room had a nice tall ceiling and was spacious. The beds and mattresses were overly soft and seemed tired although the bedding was good. The room was quiet and the heating control worked well. The television control was not functioning but we got a replacement. The complimentary breakfast was good with variety, decent quality, amounts and availability. Perhaps if we booked on line the cost might have been better! The location was nice on the very western edge of the city's ring road but signage for access in the dark of the evening was rather difficult. Turn in south at the Flying J intersection.
Wonderful to find a pet friendly accommodation that maintains such high comfort standards for its guests. Friendly and helpful staff make the stay very enjoyable for people and pets. Would stay with Best Western whenever I travel but they are not all open to pets.
Great hotel. The price is good and the location is exactly where I needed it to be. The only thing that ruined the stay for me, was the fact that I booked a room with a Jacuzzi tub that didn't work. I do physical work for my job and I have a bad back. I wanted the Jacuzzi so I could relax at night after work. I stayed for four nights and due to a busy schedule I only had time to give the Jacuzzi a try on my last day there. Of course, the Jacuzzi didn't even work. This would be a five star review except for that part. I paid for a room with a Jacuzzi tub and all I got was a room with a tub. Being the last day there, there wasn't time to change rooms or have someone come look at it. I didn't want to deal with drama of it. My coworker got the same room and he said that it was a rip off anyways. They don't do much or maybe they just don't work right. Thank you for wasting my time and getting my hopes up.
We've stayed at this Best Western location often in the past several years. Everything rates a 10 from the reception desk, to the cleanliness of the rooms, to the varied and fresh selections for breakfast. The rooms are spotless and everything has always been in working order. To experience a hotel that so consistently provides top notch service and accommodation speaks to the professionalism of the staff and management and the obvious pride they take in their hotel. We highly recommend this location.
I've stayed at many best western hotels and this one is by far the best I've enjoyed. Great location for driving to or from Ontario, close to restaurants and major events in Winnipeg. Front desk staff have always provided me with a great welcome, fast service and quick checkout. I look forward to returning again.
The hotel was excellent! Pretty clean but crumbs in a few places! The suite with kitchenette was very big and had lots of room in it! The breakfast was great with lots of choices. We lived the pancakes and yogurt with granola! The pool was fun, but the chlorine made us cough. There were many hockey teams that weekend and relatively quiet.
Good location-right by the Winnipeg by-pass. Pet friendly. Room could use renovating. Very quiet. Flying J gas station next door as well as Denny's restaurant. Breakfast ok but had better at other BW.
I understand check in is 3pm. Up until my last 2 visits with Best Western arrived shortly after 2 and both times we were told check was at 3. Neither were willing to accommodate us. As the reason being they are full. I don't understand why they aren't wanting to accommodate first come first serve.
This was an excellent hotel that I would stronly recommend to anyone. I do not work in the hospitality industry and have no connection to it. It is good for families too as it has a pool with a slide.
This is a clean, comfortable hotel at a reasonable price and close to highway. There is an ev charger available and each parking spot has an available plug for a block heater or charging, which was what attracted us to the hotel in the first place.
Well kept property, clean, comfortable and great breakfast nook. Had a great sleep comfortable bed and pillows. Shower head must be one of the water saver types as it is not the greatest but adequate.
We stayed at this facility while on holiday. The hotel looked new and was super clean. Our check in was quick and the room was comfortable and nicely appointed. We would stay again. It was very quiet despite being close to the highway. Parking was ample and well lit.
A nice clean hotel, rooms were comfortable, large and wifi worked well. front reception staff were friendly and accommodating. Good location, but busy hotel, up front parking spots were gone when we arrived back to our room after a night out.
We stayed here a few years back and I like the chain of hotels. There were a few things that stood out in mind. - The room was clean and well appointed - Front desk staff chose member was on the phone when I approached the desk to check in. I waited about a minute and a second front desk staff member joined the person on the phone and without making eye contact or apologies picked up a second call that just started to ring. I waited and waited while they finished the calls. and I must say I was not impressed. - The bathroom door did not latch or lock and the fridge made a high pitch whistling sound. We unplugged the fridge while we were in the room. - The breakfast was great, lots of variety and hot.
great place to stay and have breakfast and get you on your way! I highly recommend this property great location easy to find ..friendly and comfortable with great rates and pet friendly which was really helpful
Always good. Consistently. Kids love them pool. We have a great sized room for a family of 5. Location is a little far but worth it. Very comfy beds - all get good sleep. Having an extra blanket stored in the room might be helpful.
The room we got was amazing for the price and the kids wished we were staying longer so they could enjoy the pool and slide. The staff in the hotel were very friendly, the breakfast staff could try smiling while you're there. Waffles are always a huge hit with the kids! Lots of parking!
Spent three days/nights there for a wedding close by and found this to be a very nice hotel. The pool area is good, with a small water slide and a hot tub. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate with some changes every day. We did have an issue with the cleaning staff as each day we left early in the morning with a "please make up sign" left on the door handle...and upon returning mid-afternoon, the room had not been cleaned. When we told the cleaning staff in the hallway, very politely, they said they had so many check outs they couldn't get to our room. One of the days we had to go for a walk while they grudgingly came and cleaned it, and the next day they never came at all. This did put a "dent" in our overall experience which would make us try a new place next visit.
This is one of the nicest Best Westerns I have stayed at. The staff was awesome! The hotel room was spotless. The pool area was excellent and breakfast was really great! Check in was fast and good. An awesome site.
I have stayed here before and again the staff is great. Check in was fast. The room was very clean an up to date. The location is great and close to the highway. A short drive to shopping and resturaunts. Breakfast was good but very busy because it has a water park and a lot of kids. (summer break) Keep up the great team work and I will see you again. Denny's restaurant is walking distance away and is good.
I flew in after a 17 hour day. Reserved with points. I didn't expect it to be such a good hotel, especially when I saw it was beside a Love's truck stop. But to my surprise room was clean and it was fairly quiet. the high rating came in because the bed was comfortable pillows were great I had a wonderful night sleep. But the best part was when I got up to eat breakfast. they have these little mini omelette things I've never had before that were very good and potatoes with the onions or the bomb. as a very frequent traveler hotel breakfast is something that I'm absolutely sick of but this was a nice change it was very good and I would rate them as probably in the top three breakfasts and all of Canada Paris Best Western. The staff was fantastic and being on the outskirts of town made it easy and no traffic the next morning.
Beautiful hotel with all the comforts of home including grab bars in bathroom and a great swimming pool. The hot breakfast menu for the week was posted as well as the Continental breakfast menu. Plenty of seating in the breakfast room. A treat to have a "real" closet, too. It was convenient to have a Denny's and Flying J next door.
Hallways and elevators littered with used diapers and all kinds of food. The room overall was decent except for the large beetle in the bathroom. We were on the top floor(4th)and all you could here were doors slamming and people running up and down hallways at 11pm.
The Best Western Plus Winnipeg West Hotel was everything we asked for on our cross-Canada trip. Free parking, free breakfast, free wi-fi, pool and/or hot tub. An enjoyable property and one I would recommend.
Stayed for two nights and overall the hotel exceeded my expectations Pros: - Clean and modern rooms - Friendly staff - Nice pool area with fast slide and hot tub. - Awesome breakfast with lots of hot food! - Ample parking - Next to a Denny's if needed for food and small shop. - Allow pets in some rooms - Free coffee available in room and downstairs. - Microwave and fridge in room. Minor negative: The location is out of town and not near anything interesting to walk to. However most people who book here have pre planned events so should not be an issue. Truck yard next door but honestly was not an issue.
This is one of the best location I ever stayed at throughout my travel. The place is so clean, staffs are excellent. The bed is so comfortable I always have a great night sleep. Makes you feel appreciated and they're genuinely glad we choose this location. When I travel through here, I always pick Best Western plus. Thank you for your great service !!
Super clean, attentive staff, reasonable price, good location. Breakfast room is bright, the food was varied, well presented and tasty. On future trips to Winnipeg we will book this hotel. The excercise room was more than adequate.
Due to an issue with another hotel in the area I had prebooked, I ended up booking a reservation here last minute the day I arrived in Winnipeg. It was fantastic! Extremely clean, and also pet-friendly. After a long day of driving, it was relief to find the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great as well, and the location was perfect for me as I was able to head West the next morning easily without a bunch of traffic. While I didn't use it, I also thought the 24 hour Denny's next door to be very convenient. It also has a gas station next to it that was easy to pull my truck and long trailer up to with no issues. Great location! Great experience!
Love this hotel. It is quiet, comfortable, with great friendly staff. I can always count on a high standard of service, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hotel has easy access off the highway with lots of parking. The included breakfast has many options to choose from. The dining area is bright and cheerful. Whenever I am in Winnipeg for business I always stay here and it never disappoints.
Clean and quiet. Pool is good for kids. Free breakfast is amazing. The location leaves a little to be desired, but it is next to a big Flying J stop which has a Dennys in it. In about a 10 minute drive you can hit all necessary shopping.
BW was yet again excellent the pool at this location was one of the best I've seen in any hotel. Breakfast was very good as well with different selections each day. Staff was very good and very accommodating
Love this place, great staff and breakfast is second to none. Stay here every chance I get. Price affordable and conveniently located on the edge of Winnipeg but very close to everything that you will need
My daughter and i were coming home from out west had a place booked in Winnipeg on airbnb. Got there & it was so bad that we did not feel safe staying. Karen my daughter called many hotels in the area trying to find a place. Very hard to do, last minute as we had 6 dogs with us. The manger of Best Western was very kind and arranged to accommodate us all & even discounted us one pet fee. The rooms were beautiful and we had a much needed good nights rest. Plus doggies treat. Wow. So happy
Always enjoy staying at the Best Western Winnipeg West! The front desk staff are always super friendly and it's nice to see familiar faces when returning there. The hotel is always super clean same as well as the rooms and pool area. The breakfast is always delicious with lots of options.
This hotel is over priced. We've been to many hotels and for the middle of the week I find it pricey. The prices o Expedia are better then calling the hotel directly. The pool is very small and not to deep. It's good for children about 3 ft and up. Water slide is a blast for them. Don't go there to relax and swim not enough space and depth for that. The hot tub is also very small probably 4 adults would be very tight. The smell of chlorine is strong especially when the fountain is turned on. Your eyes burn and hard to breath. The breakfast is average would need more seasoning kind of like meals in Cuba tasteless. The hotel should let guest know when there is a hockey tournament and the hotel is almost full of players It's a party for the kids playing in halls ways. Running in the hallways. We will not be returning to this hotel again.
This is a nice modern hotel. The pool is very kid friendly with a water slide and showering water for running under. Breakfast was great with lots of selection. Hotel was full, but very quiet. We would stay here again!
The one thing I can truly say about this property is they seem to care about not only its condition on and on going basis but also I have found their staff to be incredibly polite and friendly at all times, Even when you run into somebody in the hallway they always have something nice to say or a very polite question If they can be of service. I have found this property be one of my favourites when travelling across the country on business.
This is one of our main go to hotels. Service is always great, rooms are a good size and rates often fair. Used to be very clean... but this trip the pool area was bordering nasty. Busy week - March break- and likely a winter full of hockey teams, but I don't like seeing yellow scunge on the sides of the pool and the pool deck was full of pools of dirty water you had to walk through. Pools are already gross enough “public” places - they need to be kept as spotless as possible and you'll always have our business.
The building is reasonably quiet. Parking can be tight in the immediate front. Our particular suite had a bedroom with a king size bed isolated from the living room/kitchen. The couch was a fold out bed but apparently not at all comfortable (according to our child). The alarm clock barely worked to get the radio sound and the front cover popped off easily. The light at the bedside was askew, the remote control for the bedroom TV was chewed on by an infant and yet left for new guests. Wallpaper was coming off the kitchen wall. The smoke detector was hanging off its mount. The kitchen faucet was not secured and the whole thing rotated when you tried to turn the spout. THe themostat in the bedroom did not work and the control panel on the wall unit was broken. The bathroom was half decent only having a few rough spot repairs that were painted over hastily. We did use the pool area and I did actually appreciate the hot tub. The pool had three main features other than the hot tub, that being a type of whirl pool (or Vortex) that is a very similar to a miniature “lazy river”, a waterslide, and a large mushroom shaped rain tower. The rain tower was not functional but the other features were. Overall the pool was decent. No robes and the pool towels are also on the small side. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. This hotel has free breakfast which was pretty decent, though no variation. Stay was purchased through air miles. Not good value.
Room was great, I was very happy with it. I can't say enough nice things about Chris at the front desk! He is so personable and helpful! I spoke to him on the phone earlier in the week regarding our booking and he checked us in. We were disappointed with the pool this time. The chlorine in the pool was over powering, it burnt your eyes just sitting next to the pool never mind swimming in it. The kids couldn't swim for long they were coughing uncontrollably from the chemicals. And I was unimpressed with the number of birthday parties at the hotel. It's not a huge pool and it filled up quickly with all the parties happening. We booked the room basically for the pool. Something fun for the family but the over capacity pool on top of the chlorine smell made the trip a fail. $165 to spend the majority of the time the room.
Great staff, helpful, friendly, efficient. Had an excellent stay! Definitely would recommend it. Hot breakfast was great. Room was spacious for hockey equipment and a bunch of 14 year old boys. Great for team stays!
Overall great hotel, with great staff & a wonderful selelction of breakfast items. Pool area was great too. Very Clean and quite. Great that they have a Denny`s and a gas station right across the parking lot.
We've been going to this Best Western for several years for Christmas. It's a nice family time with our children and grandchildren. The hotel is always clean and the front desk and kitchen workers are happy to serve. The breakfast is unbelievable, in a good way. Anything you can possibly ever want to eat at breakfast is available. And good coffee. The beds are very comfortable. Our stay was Dec 22-24/18
The Best Western at Headingley is clean, the staff is friendly and very helpful and a hot, delicious breakfast is always ready and waiting in the morning. There is always parking close to the hotel and when I have wanted to change rooms to be closer to the elevator, it has never been a problem. The staff is so accomodating.
An unexpected gem just on the west side of WINNIPEG. Had moderate expectations before going there and our expectations were exceeded in every way. Very friendly reception. Pin perfectly clean rooms. Excellent breakfast! Clean pool and fitness facility. I will plan to stay here again when I'm in or around WINNIPEG.
Where to start. The check in and first impression was excellent. The staff were very friendly and happy to greet you. The lobby was modern and made you feel right at home. The rooms were of a fair size and came complete with all the amenities. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. There is no way that any hotel could offer a better complimentary breakfast. This was by far the best. The young lady working the evening shift during my stay went above and beyond to treat us like we were part of her family. She joked with us. She told us the rules of hotel in a way that made you smile. (We were trying to drink in the breakfast room at night.) Perfect customer service and a real respectful young lady. Great job to her and the rest of the hotel.
The hotel is very nice and looks like it is a newer hotel. Very pleasant front desk staff. Great pool area. To get to the front entrance of the hotel you have to drive through a gas station parking lot but worth it in the long run. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was pretty good the next morning. Potatoes and egg patty. My only complaint would be the lack of water pressure in the shower the next morning. I would stay in this hotel again.
went on an overnight staycation dec 27, 2018. 0 issues, just wish our room was closer to the other 2 rooms booked with our family. Since we had a pet friendly room, this could not be done. other than that, a nice hotel just outside the city. Real friendly front desk staff too.
We loved this hotel. The front desk staff was SO friendly and helpful and the pool area is so much fun for kids. The chlorine smell in the pool area is very strong but my kid had a blast swimming and going on the waterslide. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the rooms very clean and quiet. We would definitely stay here again.
My family stays here every time we come to the city! And we are treated like family and it is always clean. Where can you go and have a Hot Huge Breakfast selection, then in the evening a cup of homemade soup before retiring to your room for the night!! Always has and will be a Great place to stay!
We have stayed at this hotel previously and were very happy with the cleanliness, pool amenities, breakfast, and wonderful staff. So we chose to host my daughter's 8th birthday there. We were sorely disappointed after entering the suite we booked weeks in advance. Dirty socks, little toys scattered in corners of rooms/under curtains, crumbs around the toilet, and spilled juice or food in the fridge. I figured we would just make the best of it and tried to ignore the fact that I had to clean our hotel room we had just moved into. We later went down to the pool only to find out that the water spraying mushroom thing was broken. This would've been nice to know as my kids were very much looking forward to it again. I brought all of these issues up to the front desk when checking out, still paid full price, and got a weak apology. Very sad. We will be looking for a new regular “go-to” that we can depend on.
My problem is mainly with the ignorant, incompetent staff. To hell with money, common sense and adequate service level, policy owns this hotel, money is not important here, so I suggest reading all their policies and ask ALL questions before going. Seems like BW makes the rules and they enforce it, other BW hotels like money and making sure guests are happy upon departure. I resented my entire stay but glad I didn't book longer, which I was intending too, I was very tired. I tend to bill differently than most travelers, L-rd forbid you use more than 1 credit card during your travels, I guess it's a foreign concept for some hotels to get that some people have many credit cards because spending segmentation and tracking is a lot easier this way; but you need money to do this I guess and imagine mist staff and guests of BW are poor, or average folk. First, you get wrong information over the phone, saying you can bill exactly how you want... but what they meant to say is, they bill exactly how THEY want, how it is convenient for THEM, then proceed to blame policy (whomever you blame, owns you); well, policy cost them and many other BW hotels a lot of money.. no matter if it is convenient for the customer or not. Yes, I am more demanding than the average guest but if hotels can't offer what other hotels offer, they need to change their name to a motel... like this one here. Only cheap brands have restrictive billing practices. Other problem, like in Thunder Bay, is the pungent smell of chlorine, again, bad for you, burns brain cells, I guess this explains the lack of service I get from BW, I'd probably be a radio controlled imbecile too, if I was breathing that toxic crap all day.... seems to be a growing trend, crappy staff when there is a strong smell of chlorine near them. Were I a worker, I would get health and safety involved. Some places I worked at, you had to wear a mask when the chlorine was too strong... even goggles!! Aside from crappy staff and chlorine vapors, the room was nice at least, can open a window and overall, was a good night's sleep. I would even go one further and say, this was probably one of the best sleeps I had in a Best Western hotel. I also liked having eyes on the prize (my truck) at all times, this was convenient. Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely not!! Like Thunder Bay, I would recommend it to people I don't like. The strong chlorine smell is a health hazard, it is known and proven to lower IQ's, as well as bull-crap-with-a-smile-staff, I think anyone should avoid it. They're policy boot-lickers, so don't expect above and beyond service here, expect rules are followed to the bitter end, either it makes sense or not. I, myself, will never stay here again and will go out of my way to avoid it. I went out of my way to stay here because of the propitious location but I should have paid double and went to my regular hotel, The Fairmont. Came here because I guessed it would save me time and a few bucks on my trip... the stay was not worth it. Hotels like this, are the reason why I give Fairmont 5-figures yearly. Pay more, get more and professional service, is worth its weight in gold. ... get the hint.
The staff has been wonderful here every time and one of our children has celiac disease, they always make her a seperate breakfast to ensure she is not sick. Rooms are always clean as is the entire property.
I stayed here for business enjoyed the complementary breakfast having flying j right there and Denny's was also a bonus I would stay again rooms were clean pool and hot tub were clean WiFi internet great connection convient location close to everything
Close to all parts of Winnipeg even though in bedroom community of Headingley. Restaurent across parking lot, gas station nearby, highway access in all directions easy. Full breakfast, hot and cold, lots of room to eat, open 6-10 am..
We had a fantastic stay at the hotel. My children loved the pool and waterslide; breakfast was delicious and had a variety of food; the rooms were very clean, spacious, and comfortable; and the staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel. The location of the hotel was in a quiet location but close enough to drive into the city for meetings.
New hotel near ASSINIBOIA DOWNS just outside of Winnipeg. My room was lovely. Very nice decor with comfy king bed and pillows light as air. Two flat screen TV's a couch and desk with office chair. Mini fridge, microwave and single cup Keurig. Nice deep tub/shower. Iron and ironing board and hair dryer. Pool and hot tub on main floor. Free WiFi. Breakfast self serve daily. Nice hot abd cold selections. Very clean. Free parking. Next door to a Denny's. Highly recommend.
We stayed here for one night on our way home from a trip out west. The hotel is well located if you don't want to go into the city and is very close to the perimeter highway which we liked as we jumped on that first thing the next morning. Everything was clean and the bed was quite comfortable- we had a good night's rest. While the rooms were clean the bathroom is quite small and not lit particularly well. We found the bathtub/shower to be kind of dark. In general the room was not very well lit and there were very few receptacles or charging stations. I had to move the night stand beside the bed to plug in a CPAP machine. Everything else was fine. I am not sure if it is just because we were at the end of a long drive but we found breakfast to be less than satisfactory. The eggs had a strange very light yellow colour to them and a funny texture and the hashbrowns, while an interesting enhancement to the standard free breakfast, seemed very greasy and not very appetizing. Having a sensitive constitution for this kind of stuff I elected not to finish mine. Not a bad location other than we found there were not many great choices for restaurants.
This is a very good hotel. Staff was great at check in and the hotel lobby and room was clean and comfortable. Location was convenient for us. Right along the Trans Canada with lots of restaurants and retail close by. Breakfast was good, as expected. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Stop along the way to elsewhere. Lewis at the desk was great, the room was just what was needed and specially requested. Complimentary Breakfast was plentiful and there is room for many diners. TOFU sausage was both a surprise and disappointment (LOL)! The Denny's next door was great for dinner and the adjacent Flying J station was convenient. There is also a Walmart two blocks east.
This Best Western is nice and is conviently located. The rooms were nice and well kept. It was a very quiet hotel. Breakfast was not what I had expected from a Best Western. The pool and water slide were a lot of fun.
I'm a regular at this location. I travel to Winnipeg often for business. It's comfortable, clean and very easy to access. The staff great, internet is great for streaming, breakfast is very good as well.
I really enjoyed my stay here. One of the better Best Western I've stayed at. Very pet friendly. Tons of parking. Large, clean and very comfortable rooms. Pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Overall excellent.
We stayed here for a week. The first few nights were great, not much noise. Later during the week there must have been a hockey tournament in town because the rooms across the hall from us were very loud late into the night, kept us awake. Other nights it sounded like someone above us was moving furniture after 11pm. I don't understand, you're in a hotel, be respectful and mindful of people around you. I really like this hotel, it's in a great, safe location. On the edge of town with tons of parking and close to the Perimeter. The pool has a waterside, nice sized pool and is very close to Assiniboine Downs. This hotel was poorly built with not much insulation between rooms.
A great place to stay. Staff is very friendly & helpful. Hotel inside & out well-maintained & clean. Complementary weekend breakfast had lots of choices. We liked it's closeness to Winnipeg without being right in the city.
We stayed here for a 3 day/night ball tourney. Since the diamonds we were playing at were a quick 10 min drive from here, it was the perfect place for us to stay. We never had to enter the city and fight through the city traffic. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff from check-in to check-out were very helpful and courteous. We decided to keep the peace between the kids by seeing if we could get a rollaway for the room, within minutes we had a rollaway and happy kids. Our first night we found out that our remote only would turn up the volume, when I talked to staff member, I had a new remote within minutes. Breakfast was great. We loved the yogurt parfait maker and waffle makers. The kids spent every night in the pool. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend to anyone.
We were booked for one night only on our way to Brandon. When we got there I enquired about staying two more nights on our way back from Brandon. No problem. Why was I delighted? Because I had tried to book the same dates for here online and kept getting the message that there were no rooms available. However, the nice person behind the desk checked and said he had a room for us. I took it and immediately cancelled at the hotel I had booked which was much further downtown and less convenient. Not only were our rooms okay on all three dates but the service was great, the staff polite and attentive and best of there was a Denny's next door and the TransCanada highway off the parking lot!
We were upgraded ?o a king suite because the room we booked was unavailable. It was very spacious and clean. Very good service. Breakfast included cereal, waffles, egg patties, sausages and bacon. The waterslide looked great. Very nice hotel.
Wrapping up our western Canada trip, this was our final night stay. The room was a good size, with comfortable beds. The breakfast in the morning was very good with plenty of variety. But the highlight (especially for our kids), the moment upon check-in they noticed the water slide with the pool. We had to pull them out after an hour as we had a morning flight the next day.
Check in was fast and friendly, the staff seemed to remember us from our last stay. We were just looking for a room for the night so we didn't use the pool or gym, but we did go for the free continental breakfast the following morning. There is something for everyone and it was constantly monitored so if you needed anything all you had to do was ask. Our room had two queen beds, (very comfortable with lots of pillows), a Kerig coffee maker, and was clean and spacious for what we needed. We didn;t have any problems connecting to the internet for browsing. As I said, we didn't use the pool this time but we have in the past and it is a fantastic pool with a water slide, infinity pool, waterfall, hot tub, and lots of tables, chairs and loungers to choose from. Very well kept, clean pool area, with lots of towels too. This Hotel is located just off the Trans Canada Highway, just outside of Winnipeg, so very easy to access. There is also a Denny's right next to it so you have that option if you don't feel like going out for a meal. All in all we had a great stay, loved the room, close to many Winnipeg attractions and very easy to get to!
This hotel is very clean, the room was very comfortable. The bed was very comfy. The pool was fun. The breakfast was excellent. We stayed there for 3 nights to visit Winnipeg. The location on Portage avenue is ideal to travel in town back and forth. The staff were very helpful and nice.
This hotel was approx. $85 Canadian a night and was worth it. Breakfast every morning was good and the hotel is in a good location. Right by MTS Iceplex and fun family activities such as Go Carts. It's also right by the horse tracks.
Nice place but found it a little high to stay one night compared to other hotels of similar status. I would try and find a different hotel do to the price. Otherwise the place is nice and clean. The room however did smell a little like someone had smoked in it.
Although this hotel is outside the city it is very convenient as you can go South or North on the Perimeter highway very easily and if you wish to go downtown you just go straight east. We went around the area with ease. The staff were very very friendly and accommodating and there were no problems whatsoever with our stay. All areas of the hotel were clean and well maintained.
Very good hotel. Great staff and clean modern rooms. Has restaurant 100 yards away. Location is in Headingley at west end of city which for me is a bonus when heading west home and not fighting morning DT traffic. Easy access to Perimeter Highway both directions
Exceptional staff, service and property. Property is lovely and modern without feeling cold. Room was spacious with two TVs. Beautiful bath with nice toiletries. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Great fitness room and pool. BEST BREAKFAST EVER! Perogies for breakfast is genius!
for the price, this place is a poor value. Much better options. Staff and manager were not accommodating when requesting a 30 min late checkout. room cleaning staff were rude. Would not recommend - look for another option.
Good stay at this hotel. Great daily complimentary breakfast with a variety of fresh fruits and fruit cups, pastries, breads, mini egg omelettes, meats, potatoes, waffles, juice, yogurt and the list goes on! The front desk staff were very accommodating in changing my room location as the 2 Queen Suite booked was very close to an elevator and one specifically I requested to avoid. Unfortunately all of these rooms are similarly located therefore consider that in your booking. Beds were comfy and room size adequate. Great Wi-Fi connection. For a Best Western Plus hotel status there were things we've experienced in the past that really should be improved. The shower head was quite outdated, there was no safety deposit box, and housekeeping was not attentive to vacuuming the carpet. I am used to having lotion as part of the complimentary toiletries but this was not the case at this hotel. Despite a sign in the room saying if you've forgotten one of these items just contact the front desk...they were going to charge me $3.75 for a traditionally sized little bottle of lotion. I would say this was more a Best Western hotel versus a Best Western Plus hotel.
Traveling East through Manitoba on The Trans Canada Highway you will arrive in Headingly, Manitoba just on the Western Edge of Winnipeg. Best Western (BW) Has strategically located this facility with easy access to the North & South on the Perimeter Bi-pass or directly cruising into the Historical City of Winnipeg. The easy access and safe location of this facility provides service to Winnipeg Airport included with a stay at the hotel. We have been staying at this Best Western Facility on our trips to Winnipeg since it opened approximately four years ago. The staff and management are extremely service driven to provide a worry free, pleasant and comfortable stay. Great Parking, Clean Entrance!! When we walk in the door...they remember us! The Breakfast room is currently being serviced by a super energetic, friendly and efficient manager; always on the move, always working, takes time to smile, say hello and Greet her Guests, she works very hard to take maximum care with plenty of food and choice of items for her very hungry breakfast visitors. Check In and Check Out... the front desk team is on their game at all times; friendly, supportive and efficient. Always with a smile! The mechanical and service folks that care for the facility are always repairing, cleaning, washing the front entrance floors making every effort to provide a welcoming experience. They take time to say hello and make a guest feel welcome. The Room staff are so important as well. They do such a great job and provide a welcoming experience, clean room, clean bathroom, clean windows, a consistent comfortable experience when a person enters and returns to their room. All in all after one stay at this Best Western Facility will have you returning while visiting Winnipeg Manitoba Canada or passing through on Trans Canada Highway.
Stayed there for a family function. ... felt well rested in the morning, rooms have great air control. Hotel feels clean. Stayed there before , can easily give this place 5 ?????????? of how well I can rest there.
It is a decent hotel, the only draw back is that it is right next to a truck stop. It is close to restaurants and some shopping for groceries etc. It would be great for travelers who need to hit the road early in the morning, close to the highways, etc.
Was a full house for a hockey tournament weekend and still tons of room and very quiet. Managers and staff were great and the pool was excellent for the kids! Beds were comfy and was very affordable. Would stay again! Great stay as you can usually count on from Best Western :)
Stayed here overnight on our way to Cuba. Wael was the evening customer service clerk. Did an excellent job friendly and courteous. Made sure our cab was called for morning pick up and confirmed for us. Great clean quiet room, and excellent breakfast. Will definitely stay again when needed for travelling and needing to stop near Winnipeg.
Nice hotel. We travelled with our granddaughters in between Christmas and New Year. The hotel has nice and spacious rooms and is very clean. We had requested a room on the ground floor- that was perfect! The kids had fun at the pool. They also serve an outstanding breakfast. The staff was polite and helpful. We had a good stay !
Very lovely hotel that is only two years old. Lovely front desk person, clean, comfortable rooms. Free breakfast with the usual items but a bit above a Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn. No restaurant on site but we ordered Chinese food from Yip Hong's (8th St. E) and it was delicious. We are travelling with our dog and unfortunately we had an adjoining room in which the family was a tad too noisy. We could not change rooms but eventually things were quiet. All in all, great hotel.
The staff are have always been friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable. We always do a suite for the extra room with our family. Only dislike is there is no water pressure in the shower so it takes forever to wash your hair.
I love your hotel and would recommend every time. It is close to the perimeter and Unicity and various family and friends. The staff also is very understanding for those who have special needs such as I.
New Year's Eve was my oldests bday we usually celebrate by going to a hotel - this was a first at best western. Room was a double queen room- large enough for us to have cake presents and family time. I'm not sure that the beds were in fact queen size they seemed small. The pool was good - very chlorinated tho - our eyes were so sore after swimming. The umbrella sprinkler was not working which was a bummer. The kids enjoyed the slide and vortex. It was very busy being New Year's Eve and all. The bathroom in the swimming area could use a bit more attention to ensure it's cleanliness. Full breakfast included. It was alright- your typical continental breakfast with the addition to scrambled eggs and sausages and hash browns. Which were not all that great but it was breakfast! Waffles were yummy with different choices for toppings. And a yogurt bar to make your own parfait was neat. The rate for the room was a bit high but that's what I get for booking last minute I guess.
Staff is very friendly, very clean hotel. Super comfortable beds with spacious rooms. Pool and hot tub are well kept and the full serve hot breakfast is very good. Will definitely be staying here again.
We stay here EVERY time we are in Winnipeg. They are very accommodating with our large family group that we have. The pool, breakfast, staff, etc are all great. We will continue to stay here whenever we can in Winnipeg! Worth the extra drive to the other side of the city!
Clean rooms, friendly staff, breakfast was good. I always appreciate the use of plug in for cars when the weather is very cold. The staff was friendly despite it being holiday time and the hotel being busy with family gatherings in some of the public rooms.
Excellent hotel, size of rooms were good, breakfast was excellent. Did not like how work trucks and trucks with trailers parked sideways and took up 6-8 parking stalls. There is a spot for them and that's where they should be parking not right up close to the hotel.
Spent a Wednesday night prior to a trip to Cuba early the next morning, rather than travelling to the city much earlier. The kids had fun on the waterslide, the adults had plenty of area to sit and visit. We ordered pizzas in for dinner. The rooms were clean and,the beds very comfortable.
Had an issue with key coder when I arrived but they brought key to my room a short time later. Looks like the pool and tub were nice. Did not have time to try. 5 year old facility that has been well kept so far. Good job BW.
We have been able to stop here before. Have found it to meet our needs. Being a transport driver, my needs are not many. Nice and quiet for those not common hours of sleep. Pool is nice, just wish the hot tub was hotter.
This hotel is excellent for kids and business stays. The staff are very friendly and caring. I would highly recommend considering staying at the Best Western in Headingley for great value. From the hotel, access to all services are as easy as any downtown hotel.
Good hotel on West side of town not far from Airport Denny`s in Parking lot and Gas station, Internet was good and easy to connect Clean decent breakfast included, pool and hot tub Staff very nice and helpful exercise room could use free weight but other wise was good
The rooms are not only clean and comfortable but they are nicely presented. The bathrooms for example have white towels with one red towel to set things off - so elegant. Please see my pics. The hotel is quiet and the breakfast is excellent. We have been staying at BW all across Canada and this is one of the nicer ones so far!
Very spacious room with a comfortable bed and recliner chair. Breakfast was excellent with a variety of selection and tasty hot items. Convenient location on west edge of city. Good value for an enjoyable stay!
Our place to return and relax while we spent our days exploring the wonderful city of Winnipeg. The hotel was easy to find, check-in and check-out was efficient, there was even a place for us to plug in our electric car! The gracious breakfasts each morning got our days started off just right. The fitness center equipment was fairly easy to use and adequate for our light exercise needs. Having the flexibility of a refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave right in the room was also a great help.
We decided to have a short staycation this fall. i.e ... staying in our home town kind of get away. We really enjoyed the water park and the huge selection of choices for breakfast. The internet was speedy. All in all a very nice stay. Best Western is always great and treats their customers very well.
My stay at Best Western Plus in Headingley, Manitoba was very good. got a good nights sleep and a good breakfast. Is close to a restaurant for a good supper when I arrived. Also, being a truck driver, you have a large parking area at Flying J next door.
This was our third stay at the Best Western in Headingley Manitoba and by far the best experience we had. It seems like there has been a change in staff and management; everyone was so much friendlier. The breakfast menu has been greatly improved from our last 2 visits. Look forward to our next stay in Headingley.
Best Western Plus is always a good bet. This was no exception. Great staff, great bed, and a breakfast which is worth eating. Wael at the front desk was helpful and accommodating from the beginning and they have the nicest luggage carts I've ever used. Rooms are spacious and quiet. One downfall is the constant smell of diesel from trucks running at the Flying J next door. Not a problem inside however. Have not noticed any noise concerns from the truckstop or the hiway. There is a Denny's next door so breakfast at 3am is just steps away. Easy access to and from the TransCanada hiway makes it a convenient place to stay.
Staff is very friendly. The area is beautiful. Property is beside the river, and has a walkway adjacent . The hotel offers a snack time around 5 pm which was a pleasant surprise and the breakfast was plentiful. The pool; area is great for families. There are plenty of shopping areas and restaurants close by, even within walking distance. Would stay again
I have stayed in Best Westerns for many years and have never found one this nice! It is so clean...and quiet comfortabler rooms...friendly staff....and excellent breakfasts ! Its been hard to find another one that compares !! I would highly recommend this hotel ! We even requested our favorite pet room upon returning and we got it ! Henry and Valerie Strong Sooke, BC
We enjoyed the room we had and the bed and pillows were super comfortable for us. Parking was large and always a spot available. the lobby and entrance were very clean. The TV was an issue that remained unresolved as we had at least 4 channels that showed "weak or scrambled signal" and when we mentioned it we were ignored. This included a local CTV channel which obviously was not off the grid for 4 days.
Friendly welcoming staff, good location on TCH. Excellent room decor, very comfortable bed and sitting area. Breakfast offering was well presented, plenty of room for guests to move about. Well worth staying here.
This is a very new facility. Has a large pool area with hot tub and water slide. Work out room is small but has a bike, elliptical and treadmill. Multi gym. No free weights. Breakfast area has lots of space and good food, surprisingly. Great beds and pillows. I travel a lot and these were the best nights sleep I've had in a hotel for a while. There is not much in the area, this place is right off the highway, on the edge of town. About ten minutes away is everything, though.
We stayed at the BW Plus in Headingley this week, twice. and both experiences were amazing. Staff was friendly, helpful and pleasant to talk with. The pool area is very nicely decored. They have a great small slide into the pool which our 6 year old son just loved. They have an area in the pool that is for sitting and relaxing and they also have a separate cloverleaf pool area that has a vortex that you can get a really good workout if you like. nice lounger chairs, and great ambiance. The breakfast was a hot breakfast with lots of options, very delicious. The staff was also ensuring that everything was topped up. The check in and out was very easeful and friendly staff. Great job.
We stayed at the BWPlus in Headingley on 9/25/2017. It was wonderful! The breakfast was great and they had glass coffee cups! The food was hot and good! Our room was large and the beds were comfortable! We used the fitness room and pool--both excellent. We drove downtown for the city tour at 10 AM. It was about a 25 minute drive. Quiet area.
This is the best eastern Western we have ever stayed at. The service from the from desk staff was exceptional. The room was comfortable and clean...well appointed as well as large. Great breakfast served here too...highly recommend this hotel because of the professionalism, help, and caring of the front desk!
Loved this hotel. Very comfortable room and bed. Well appointed. Laundry facilities available which was great while on the road. Breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy access to downtown Winnipeg as well.
Never a worry here, always consistent with service and quality. Adjoining shared parking lot has room for trailers. Check in was quick, desk staff offered perks to membership status which I was unaware of - nice touch! Great pool area for the kids. Lobby has a nice large sitting area if you need to wait for the rest of the your group. Dennys right next door.
Very nice hotel on edge of the city. great looking waterpark if you brought the family. Breakfast is nicer than most. Rooms are large and feel new and clean. Lots of parking.. Not many services within walking distance of hotel but some good dining options within a short drive.
Always a good place to stay, comfortable beds, excellent front desk staff, friendly staff in the breakfast room, quiet hallways at night. Extra perks being a club member are a nice touch, will definitely stay here again.
The hotel was easy to find. Great staff took care of my family. Enjoyed the stay and would stay here again when traveling. Very clean hotel. The breakfast bar was well stocked with good food. We enjoyed the treatment and had a good nights rest.
Great place to stay and great food choices on their continental breakfast. Internet was reliable and speed was great. Super Clean room.Friendly Staff and accommodating to customers. Definitely recommended when you are nearby.
Everything you expect from a Best Western! Prompt and friendly service and varied hot breakfast buffet. As always, appreciate the dog-friendly welcome package and amenities. If you walk down Camp Manitou Road there is a nice walking path through a newer subdivision . Great for stretching everyone's legs after a long day in the car.
Driving west through Canada, chances are you'll be stopping in Winnipeg. Just west of downtown, but perfectly located on highway 1 ( which will save you time in the morning when you continue your trip ) this hotel was better than expected. Does the job well and price was also competitive. Would recommend, except pool ( basically a kids water park ) and gym ( small and dated ) were a little disappointing. ( free parking and fast wifi was a plus )
I highly recommend this hotel whether you are visiting Winnipeg or passing through. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. There is a complimentary breakfast with many choices to choose from. There is a restaurant and gas bar across from it if you want a larger meal. There is easy access from the highway and the city is minutes away. We haven't used their service to the airport but will later in the fall and don't expect the service to be any different than what they provide in the hotel, excellent.
Was in Winnipeg for hockey out at the Bell MTS IcePlex and this hotel is very conveniently located. Room was nice and clean. Pillows left a little to be desired but overall a very good stay for the price and breakfast was included.
We stayed here for one night on our way to Riding Mountain National Park. The hotel is in a great location for those continuing on West. It is very clean and our room was quiet, clean and very spacious for a hotel room. The breakfast had a good selection and is enough to hold you over until lunch.
Checked in very late 1 am after along 12-14 hour drive. I was given a room beside the mechanical room, a compressor went off about every 45 minutes. I got "wonderful sleep" as you can imagine. When advised front desk staff the problem was not even acknowledged!!
This is a lovely hotel on the edge of Winnipeg. It is both kid and pet friendly. It can be a bit noisy when filled with a youth sports team. Its popularity means that it is often fully booked, so if you are planning to stay here, book early so as to avoid disappointment.
Checked in at 3 AM paid $199, had to check out by 11 AM, could not get a late check out. Bed covers had stains all over them, not enough towels for 4 people. Checked on line later that day, rooms were going for $135. This place is rip off, total price gouging, look some place else to stay. There are better deals.
This hotel once again received our family of 8 with open arms. Staff always friendly. Hot breakfast a favourite among my kids. The pool actually fun for kids and includes a shallow pool!! It is always a pleasure to stay here.
Love the best western....great place to stay with kids....good pool....great complimentary breakfast in the morning....very clean and the staff were very friendly and accomodating....a bit of a drive outside of the city but worth it....would stay again
I had a fantastic 2 night stay.Everything was very clean and the hotel was very quiet. The staff was very friendly.A small issue with a microwave was corrected in a very efficient time frame. The staff thanked me for staying with them many times.
We were able to use a work discount. Love that we didn't have to pay the extra tax b/c its outside the city. Still close enough to everything though! Great family friendly pool, waterslide, spray features. Varied cont. breakfast!
Happy to find a hotel that could accommodate our family of six at an affordable price. We had the double queen/sofa bed room and it was huge. Everything was clean and new. Kids enjoyed the pool which at its deepest is about 1.2 meters, has a slide/mini lazy river turnabout, spraypark functions. Free hot breakfast an added bonus.
It was my third time staying at this hotel. First two times (2 or 3 years ago) the place was great. This time, we checked in on a Saturday and found the bedcovers stained and dirty in a few different places (both queen beds). I called front desk and they came to look and said they'd get us a new room. We went to the new room and it was clean looking but had a musty odour. My family wanted to swim right away so I stayed in the room and opened the window to air it out. It didn't get any better. I took the filter out of the AC unit and it was dusty and smelly. I didn't want to complain again and have to move so I just washed it in the bathroom and sprayed a little perfume around the room hoping it would eventually subside, but no. We went out for dinner and came back to a smelly room. It's not the worst thing and I decided to go with it rather than complain again, but it kind of takes away from the overall experience. The front desk staff were nice, though. Maybe just need to review the housekeeping procedures.
Super comfortable and convenient while making the long trek back to Ontario! The pool and slide was definitely a highlight for my children after spending 12hrs in the car! Thanks for a great pit stop!
Excellent pool, excellent staff, clean, pets even got a special welcome treat. Highly recommend this hotel if you have children and pets. Breakfast was plenty and always staff cleaning and restocking.
If you have a pet and are going to Winnipeg, this is the place to stay! Very good space. Good breakfast, room, pool, and service. The hotel is modern, the beds were comfortable and the room décor was great. You could not ask for a more complete breakfast. Very delicious and there was constant care to make sure there was plenty. Location was prime, on the west side of the city and that was helpful to where we were going.
This hotel is awesome if you're travelling through Canada. It's right off ofHighway One, and very easy to find, as it is literally on the highway just outside Winnipeg West. The fact that there's a Denny's and a gas station right beside it is a huge plus. Clean rooms, not expensive and the staff are happy to help if you need anything. there's a great breakfast in the morning, included with your stay, and although the breakfast menu changes daily, there is a lot to have. I would definitely recommend this hotel, as it is right at the turn off for going to Ontario and on the road right into Winnipeg.
Great value. Nice rooms. Hot breakfast was a really great added value. The water park is great for children. Having Denny's right next to the hotel is a bonus. I would highly recommend this hotel if visiting Winnipeg.
Great to have clean rooms and good service on three day move from Alberta to Ontario with my daughter. On a slight negative the breakfast could be improved. Otherwise there were no other issues and we both enjoyed our stay.
The hotel service is fantastic every time i have ever stayed at this hotel & again this weekend they didn't disappoint . Location to sports facilities around Winnipeg is handy & continental brekfast offers lots of varierty
Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, kids enjoyed pool and water slide as well as high speed Internet. Many breakfast options that suited picky eaters. Would recommend this hotel for groups with children.
Great hotel to stay with your family or a team! Fantastic Breakfast, amazing pool, clean, Large rooms and a friendly staff! I would recommend to any team travelling to the city to play to stay here, close to wpg but no leisure tax on your rooms!! And easy to access!
pillows lumpy need bathroom night light language hard to understand breakfast was excellent but should watch how other customers handle the food. we watched a lady pick up every bagel or bread and smell each piece, not good for the appetite
We have stayed here for several years with our daughter's softball team. They make booking for a large group very easy and we are always welcomed by very friendly people. The hotel is always clean and comfortable. We wouldn't chose any other hotel.
The hotel had a great pool area to entertain kids as well as parents! Friendly staff, clean rooms. Breakfast offered a ton of variety of hot and cold foods! We would use Best Western Plus'es again in a heartbeat!
Nice Hotel, great pool with waterslide, rooms were fairly large and the beds were comfortable. Nice breakfast but needs some items diabetics can eat, such as sugarless jams etc. . Overall good value for the money We will stay there again.
This is an amazing hotel for families. We booked for one night as we passed through Manitoba on a long road trip and weren't expecting the extras like the swimming pool with a water slide and waterfall umbrella or a full complementary breakfast. We saw a lot of guests passing through the halls but were able to use the pool and enjoy breakfast without feeling crowded. The room was clean and well decorated. One of our littles is crawling and most of the room was nicely carpeted so we didn't worry too much about possible injuries. Staff was very friendly and polite.
My dad and I have been travelling from Ottawa to Alberta for the last few days, staying in many hotels and this was by far the best! Very clean, friendly people, beautiful hotel and pool area. Highly recommend
Best Hotel stay so far.Made stops in Medicine Hat Alberta,Drumheller Royal Tyrrell Museum ,Banff National ParkClimb Tunnel Mountain Summit.Visit Lake Louise.Stops at Kelowna visit wineries, tomorrow to Osoyoos then off to Langley.Final Destination Prince Rupert BC.Stopping in Vancouver,Victoria also flying to Queen Charlotte Islands for five days.Returning to Mississauga by July 22 2017
* - If you are traveling with kids, KEEP DRIVING. BEWARE that you will most likely be sharing the water slide and pool with non-registered hotel guests. Yes! The hotel management, in hopes of making MORE MONEY, opens the pool to birthday parties. When we complained about rude party-goers and unsafe conditions, we were brushed off. If you have kids, please, stay somewhere else. They just want your money and don't care about your concerns.
We stay here a lot and they have never let us down. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the breakfast is great, the pool is one of the best in town. My kids love this place and so do we! Would recommend for sure!
The check in service was friendly. The pool was nice and clean. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. There were lots of people there but the food was hot and the service was very friendly. I would definitely stay again.
Booked in last minute. Convenient to the highway and removed enough from town that's it's not busy in the area. Dennys restaurant and a gas station in the same parking lot. No issues with check-in. Unfortunately I was awakened before midnight by leaf blowers outside my window and heavy machinery cleaning the parking lot in prep for painting. Lots of noise and shouting. What a time to do it. I called the front desk twice and they said they would tell maintenance about but this didnt do anything. Terrible night. The room was nice as was the fitness centre. Great pool area with slide great for kids. Excellent breakfast with lots of variety day to day. Staff always cleaning or restocking. Very helpful especially with the kids. I asked the front desk if my room could be cleaned over the next 3 hours as i would be out. Came back and nothing had been done. Housekeeping could also use some improvement. Shampoos, towels and toilet paper in the room not replaced. Good place to stay but just needs a little improvement.
The place is very nice. The price reflects that as well, but you have to factor in the free breakfast, which cost us over $45 at McDonalds!! Nice location at a major junction just out of Winnipeg. We like to stay there even when shopping for a few days so we can buzz OUT of the city for a little quiet relief!!
Great hotel with great staff. Friendly, nice, great location. Close to everything just outside of the City of Winnipeg about 10 minutes away. Breakfast and Restaurant have great food. Bed are nice and comfy and hotel is nice and clean.
Stay here several times now. Great location. Very nice hotel inside and out. Limited food on site but there is a lot in area to order in. Amazing rooms, awesome beds, very spacious rooms always like staying here
Nice hotel for kids and adults, quick service, clean rooms, good breakfast. Close to MTS iceplex which is great for teams playing in Winnipeg hockey tournamets. Staff was accomdating for parents to hang out in common areas.
We liked this hotel very much by comparison to other Best Westerns. It seems to be well run with upscale decor and great amenities - a fantastic pool, with waterslide, lazy river, and a hot tub. The business centre had 4 computers. Throughout the hotel there was nice art, and attention has been paid to details. Our room was spacious and clean with nice lighting and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast area was well laid out and spacious. Although it is close to the highway, we didn't notice any road noise.
The beds at this hotel are sooo comfortable!!! I would just lay my head down and drift away! Staff were very friendly. Rooms were quiet with no disturbances. I have no qualms at recommending this hotel to anyone who would love to get away for some rest and relaxation.
Convenient location for where I needed to be in the city. A very professional, courteous and accommodating staff made my stay that much better. Breakfast was very good in the morning. If anything could improve then possibly the shower pressure and pool temperature but will definitely stay here again in the future.
Hope the receptionist are friendly. If the card is not working please don't be grumpy at all. It doesn't look good on the hotel. Atleast be professional. I just don't understand why is she not being friendly. Is she like that because we look so young. Thats discrimination, i just don't want to report about it because I am not that kind of person. She should do her job really good and she should be bring her professionalism at work. She shouldn't be like being a grumpy person. Hopefully she isn't like that in the other families as well.
I had requested late check-out when I booked the room due to an event I was attending. When I arrived at the hotel, the staff already knew and were very accommodating. The Staff was very courteous. Hotel is always clean. Location is just right. I love that they have the continental breakfast.
Excellent location for our purpose (Hockey). Hotel was clean, quiet and comfortable. Good breakfast (Perogies for breakfast?? Baked beans? It was interesting choices but they were good! Denny's right next door as well as a Flying J! Trucks coming and going all day and night but we did NOT hear a thing!! Very happy with our stay.
I was very happy with my choice to stay here. I flew from Edmonton and stayed in Winnipeg for one week. As I travel a lot with my job, I'm at many hotels. Typically, I have some sort of problem with appliances in my room or the amnesties etc.. everything was perfect. I could focus on my work and not how long it would take my shower to get hot. Thanks for the great stay. I'll be booking here again in a month or so.
This hotel is perfect. Unlike the newest B W near the airport. We will NEVER stay at that one again because of all the noise, drums, smoking in halls etc etc. We stayed there twice and both were very bad!!!
This was the third time we've stayed at this hotel and we really like it. The pool is perfect for little ones and the breakfast is decent. I also like you can use air miles to pay. I'm sure we'll be back!
The location is a little outside of Winnipeg but amenities are available if one has transportation. The pool and hot tub were working and well used by guests. The breakfast was very good and available for a good length of time. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the temperature was good. There is a Denny's restaurant next door to this establishment but we did not use as we had a bad experience during one other visit to the BW. I would recommend this hotel for a good stay. Our stay was for 5 nights.
Before arriving at the best western plus we contemplated upgrading to a suite to accommodate our family and a new infant. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised at the large size of the room. Even with a child's playpen, swing and stroller there still was plenty of room for the rest of our family. The bests were so comfortable I don't think I moved all night. The rooms are equipped with a fridge and microwave which was extremely convenient for families. There was some debris under the sitting chair that had not been cleaned and the top dresser drawer did not work well; but, overall the room was clean and in good working order. The continental breakfast had a variety;however the hot food was not all that hot and fresh. Those are our only 2 complaints of our stay. Overall I would rate this hotel very good. I would definetly stay here again.
checked in with a very large hockey team group. check in was fast and efficient, I called to make sure our room was ready as we arrived early. once got to hotel we checked in with room ready upon arrival. rooms are large, comfortable, and clean. had few issues with internet but do to amount of people staying at the hotel it was understandable. breakfast was great, good selection to choose from. we enjoyed our stay
Our stay was with a hockey tournament...all teams 10 years old and younger. Staff was excellent with the kids. Pool was great...rooms. Very clean..comfortable beds, fridge, microwave, in room coffee provided and good selection of food at complimentary breakfast. Staff was efficient, friendly and accomodating. Clean beds and bathrooms are our priority and this was surpassed. Pool area was excellent...hot tub, water slide and good sized pool.
Clean roomy great staff. Would definitely stay again and recommend this Best Western as a very comfortable place to stay. Beds and pillows were very comfy. Bathroom was spotless and lobby very welcoming along with the staff.
The hotel was clean and staff is great but the only the complaint I have which is a big if booking this hotel for the pool is they also book kids birthday parties which no room booking. I booked 3 rooms for my family and our little kids and when arrived it was great but within 2 hours the parties started. The pool was so over full it became a safety hazard for the kids. The pool permit from the province only allows 52 people in the pool area at one time. I counted 97 at one time at the hotel did nothing about it. I hope this hotel acknowledges this sooner than later because I would hate to see someone's child drown due to over populated pool before it is addressed. I will not be staying here again due to this life safety issue.
Stayed here for one night in April - great location next to the #1 highway and the perimeter highway. Tim Horton's and Denny's close by, and Polo Park is about 15 minutes away as well. Hotel is new and clean - pool area was a lot of fun for our daughter, hot tub was nice as well. The breakfast was a bit of a letdown - on this particular day (Wednesday) they just didn't have that much of a selection of items. Other than this - I would probably stay here again if I was in Winnipeg.
The room was very spacious for our family of 5. The pool was fantastic! My kids had a blast in the lazy river and on the water slide. The breakfast was great, there was a large variety, something for everyone.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Winnipeg West. The hotel is right off the highway but we never heard any road noise at all in our room. Very new and modern looking with clean rooms. Check in was quick and easy and front desk staff were all friendly and helpful. We had a king suite which was a good size room. Breakfast was included and it was one of the nicest breakfasts we have had at a Best Western. Food was fresh and tasty. There was a place to make your own waffles. Breakfast area was small but adequate spacing the day we were there. We will be back again next time we are in the Winnipeg area.
room was clean, bed was ok, but room was hot even with the temperature turned down. Breakfast options were decent but limited. Would be nice to have a few more options on their breakfast selections. Good location
We are very pleased with the ease and accessibility off the perimeter. Sense of quiet even though close to a main highway. 10 minutes away from our destination in Winnipeg. Breakfast choices and quality of food is excellent.
Our Hockey team was playing out of town and commuted from Winnipeg West, we enjoyed the stay. The pool was good. Rooms were great. Very accessible to Shopping in Winnipeg. We look forward to staying there again next year
The hotel was clean and modern. The staff were all friendly and courteous and our requests were met right away. We didn't have to wait at all. The beds could have been a little more comfortable. Even thought the hotel was very busy all processes went smoothly and even the guests were happy.
Great, affordable, clean and fun place to stay! My daughter had a friend sleepover in the double queen suite and a Birthday pool party! Turned out to be a perfect day! Several of the parents of the kids who attended the party were very impressed with the Hotel and accommodations and are planning their next Birthday parties there!
Trip was highly enjoyable, loved the easy access to Winnipeg and surrounding area, also was nice being beside the Flying J for snacks for the hotel room! Would recommend this hotel to anyone who has plans to be in einnipeg but don't want the hustle and bustle of being down town
Great hotel with wonderful staff. The pool is perfect for younger children as there is no deep end. Wonderful selection for breakfast. Rooms are clean and location is great We stay at this hotel every year.
Hotel is clean and well kept. The bed was comfortable, although we found the pillows a bit firm and a bit too lofty. The room was comfortable and included both a fridge and microwave which was nice. The first night we had difficulty sleeping due to a high pitched whining noise coming from the fridge which would start and stop throughout the night. We reported this too the office and asked that it be repaired or replaced. Unfortunately that did not happen and we suffered through a second night. Mentioned it again to staff the following morning and they assured us it would be addressed, and it was. Our request for a later checkout was denied, which we found disappointing considering we endured two sleepless nights, which the clerk was aware of as she was present when we discussed it with the maintenance manager. The breakfast was impressive and varied. Lots of items to choose from. The location is very proximate to the MTS Iceplex which served us well.
Wow this hotel is just fantastic! Lovely breakfast with yummy waffles and delish eggs!!! The hot tub was so relaxing because the jets were so POWERFULL. The slide was super fun and I went fast but I hurt my elbow, but it was my fault not the slide's. Go to this hotel you will like it.
Excellent breakfast, entire hotel was clean was really well kept, didn't have a problem with my stay and very nice pool and fitness Center. Always helped me when I needed a place for my luggage or any inconvenience I had.
The food was Amazing and service was even better!!! I would recommend staying there over any other hotel. The service made the stay for myself and my team way more enjoyable. They did a great job! Thanks for the service!!
I am part of the Edge hockey team and the service was great. The breakfast buffet was awesome, fresh eggs, sausage, and pancakes every morning. The pool and hot tub area was very relaxing, and the cleaning service was very good, always enough towels and nicely made beds.
The service was amazing and the food. Would recommend to anyone staying in Winnipeg. The staff was very kind to us and changed it up everyday which was very nice. Thank so much for your hospitality was greatly appreciated.
Finally a hotel that treats it's Pet Clients as family members and not 2nd Class citizens. The hotel is very new but the rooms are a great size and comfortable beds. Very impressed. A good hot breakfast available. Coffee was not the best but a minor issue in such a good review.
Very well kept, modern, clean rooms and hotel. fridge, microwave. atm machine. Its out by horse track and mts iceplex. (not mts centre where jets play) We haven't used pool area but looks nice. it closes at 10. Very good breakfast with lots of options. Denny's nearby also. Other bars, restaurants, walmart within couple miles right on portage ave. easy parking as well. We stayed a couple times and will be staying again.
I stayed here for a business trip because the meetings were close by. But nothing else is. The hotel is far from downtown, out in the prairie, with absolutely nothing within reasonable walking distance. The breakfast was terrible with the food overcooked, tasteless, and completely unappetizing. Much better to buy a predictable breakfast at the Denny's next door. The large indoor pool defines the main floor/entrance area, but the smell of chlorine permeates the entire space and adjacent corridors. The only positive is that the actual room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. But the hotel is really only a place to sleep. If you want to visit Winnipeg, much better to go downtown.
This was our first stay at this hotel. And we will be back. A very pleasant experience - with a comfortable, spacious room, and a terrific hot breakfast. A convenient location, too - right off the TransCanada and next to a restaurant and a gas station. Loved the pool and hot tub.
Booked this for our group conference. Rooms were excellent, Meeting room was adequate. Breakfast was super with variety and presentation that went beyond expectations. Excellent assistance in setting up the conference.
The hotel is easily accessible on the west side of the city. Very large and clean room which was perfect for our family. Had a fridge and microwave which was also a nice benefit. The pool area was a little noisy as there was a kids b'day party going on but otherwise it was very nice. The breakfast is the really great thing about this hotel. It is first rate with a good selection and quality of items to choose from. We plan on coming back next time we're in Winnipeg.
This was one of the best hotels that we stayed at while travelling across the country. Everything about it was on the PLUS side. We would definitely recommend this hotel to all types of travelers. Location is perfect!
Stayed one night in a room with King size bed and a nice recliner. Bed was awesome. Very large room, quiet and clean. Pool area is nice but didn't use it. Breakfast was good. Denny's is a few steps away if you prefer.
This motel has a good location, but unfortunately it seems to be understaffed. The guy on the desk didn't speak very good English, and was overworked. The pool was a bit cool. The hot breakfast was sausage, no bacon. It is a step down from the Hampton.
Stayed here for 1 night passing thru with our 2 children and our dog and can't say enough great things about this hotel. The staff were super friendly, the rooms were great and the beds were super comfy. Kids loved the pool and breakfast in the morning was awesome. They even take pics of their pet guests and display them on a board by the front desk. A+++ Will definitely stay here again and I recommend to anyone staying in the area.
I love staying at this hotel. The staff is always pleasant and I always feel so welcome. The location is great and easy for me to get to any place I am going for work. The breakfast has a great variety of items. It is always clean.
Stayed one night in a king room. This is one of the finest Best Westerns that we have ever frequented. Room was perfect. Well appointed, spotlessly clean, very good bed. We did not use the pool but it looked very nice. There was a slide and a fountain in the middle of the pool. Breakfast was hot. Good selection. Desk person was first rate and made checking in a snap.
Though outside the city of Winnipeg, It is an easy drive to almost anywhere in the city. Staff are friendly and the pool a blast. Though this was a single night stay, we have stayed here for a week on other visits to Winnipeg and are quite happy with the level of service and their commitment to keep the hotel modern. The hotel is popular with groups and weekends can get a bit noisy with lots of youth running around the halls.
Very comfortable hotel. Nice beds, clean rooms. The location works for me as I can jump on the perimeter highway to get where I'm going. Good food for breakfast with a nice variety. Brenda serving breakfast awesome! Nothing like a smiling face first thing in the morning.
Slap bang on TCH but just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, this hotel is in a great location, though the adjacent truck stop does generate a bit of background noise. The public areas are modern and tasteful, the room was very big and pleasantly furnished and decorated. Everywhere was clean including the bathroom which had lots of space on the vanity unit for ones personal items. Staff were helpful and courteous and when our bathroom lights fused during the evening we were immediately moved to another room without any hassle. Breakfast was a slightly disappointing - no problem with the food, but we find it sad that a good quality hotel uses paper bowls & plates and plastic cutlery.
Very pleased with this hotel! Pool & fitness center very nice. Breakfast was amazing!! All staff very friendly! Suites are very nice and spacious! Clean hotel. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
Our yearly visit to Winnipeg for our family included 2 3 month old puppies this time. Our stay with them was fabulous. Everyone treated my family with professionalism and the puppies loved the attention. I have always enjoyed our time in the hotel and will return again.
Seven folks had 2 rooms and for some reason the price was different per room and they were identical. I paid for both on my credit card and never noticed the price until I got home. With 2 beds in each, why would it matter how many were there plus there was a 3 year old and a 5 month old included.
Very clean and comfortable. Room was very nice and bathroom was spotless. Pool was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend. Stayed here 3 years ago and it's definitely been well maintained. Looks fantastic.
Lovely hotel. Comfortable room and bed, clean, friendly staff, decent breakfast. Like that there was a comfy chair with its own light for reading. Will definitely stay st it again. It's nice to stay at a moderately priced hotel that isn't in need of repair.
A fantastic hotel. The staff was pleasant and pleasurable. The pool and fitness areas were well maintained. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The wifi quality was very good as well. My only negative was the quality of the continental breakfast. The selection was good, but the food quality really needs to be improved.
Good hotel but there is little to do in the immediate area that is within walking distance. There is a Dennys and a gas bar but if you would like a nice meal with some variety you have to drive into Winnipeg. The morning breakfast however was out of this world.
We booked this hotel in particular for three reasons: 1 - because of the BW rewards program 2 - because of the pillowtop beds - I thought they'd be the same as the Brandon BWPlus 3 - saltwater pool We benefitted from the rewards program, of course, and kids liked the saltwater pool. However, the beds (although they ARE pillowtop) aren't very "squishy"; you don't sink in like the Brandon beds. This was important to me because of some joint issues that make sleeping on a firm surface very uncomfortable. My two kids & husband did not find the beds uncomfortable so I'm suggesting that only if you rely on deep cushioning comfort, would you find them uncomfortable. The hotel is clean, other furniture is comfortable, good temperature control, lots of handy items to purchase at lobby (e.g., frozen foods, snacks, drinks, etc). Nice quiet sleep at night. Staff is all friendly & helpful. Breakfast is a little hit & miss, however, there are many items to choose from, so you will find something you like. Waffle maker could use replacing - the teflon is coming loose. Otherwise, excellent experience.
We stayed here a night. The hotel is pretty good and meets expectations. It is right on the highway. The rooms are spacious and recently renovated. The breakfast lady is very nice and ready to accommodate one's dietary restrictions.
Was hoping to try it out, but there were a lot of young families with children staying while we were there. The pool area looked nice albeit a bit small. Business center was nice and easily accessible. Breakfast area was small but they did have an overflow room. Breakfast staff kept up with the large crowds. Rooms were comfortable. Motel is pretty far out if you're spending time in Winnipeg.
We almost always stay at a hotel with a pool. My wife likes to swim laps. This hotel's pool is excellent for kids, but not very good for adults. The pool may prevent us from ever staying here again. Other than that it rates a 10 out of 10.
I stayed here for three nights with my mom, sister and niece and nephew. It was clean, the room was great, and the location was great. The kids loved the small pool and waterslide, and we all enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning.
We are currently staying here for 11 nights. Accommodations are excellent - spotlessly clean from the efforts of s very good housekeeping team. The hot and cold breakfast is outstanding - this is why we picked this hotel over the BW at the airport. The only criticism would be that some hot items were cold. The management should improve the warming trays. The pool is very nice and perfect for families with kids. For us seniors, not so much. It would be nice if the hotel had a "quiet hour" in the later evening where all the waterfalls/slide are turned off. I do not like swimming in a "maelstrom". However, it is not a deal-breaker.
We booked for three nights, arrived late last night and slept "like the dead." The room is quiet and the A/C works flawlessly. King size bed is very comfortable. I was a little concerned that there is a large truck stop adjacent to the property, but there was no smell or noise from those rigs idling all night. I'm not much of a breakfast person, but my wife enjoyed it. I was content that the coffee was strong and hot and the juice was cold and fresh. Water is very soft and the lather was fantastic. Low flow shower head was a bit vapid. Few kids in the pool area, child sized water slide as well. Probably check it out tonight I wouldn't want to stay here without a vehicle. It's very close to Winnipeg, but I wouldn't want to walk in and doubt there is bus service. It's a "pet friendly hotel" and there is good space for "the walk."
I travel once a month to Winnipeg and always stay here. The location is right off the highway so easy to get in and get out. The staff are great. The rooms are always clean and breakfast is all you need to get back on the road. This hotel is great for work or pleasure. There is no noise at night so get some sleep and enjoy your next day. Cheers.
This is a new hotel on the transcanada highway on the western outskirts of Winnipeg. Good for attractions like zoo. Clean hotel with well lit parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was cool and temperature easy to control which was good after baking in +30. Bed was comfortable with nice pillows. Hotel was quiet and bathroom very clean. Good value for money with buffet type breakfast. Certainly recommended as a good place for an overnight stay.
Was here for 4 days. Excellent location just outside the city near the Perimeter Hwy and Trans Canada. Gas and restaurant next door. Strong smell of chlorine when you enter coming from the pool, but not too bad. Areas are signed well and clean, modern décor. Excellent rooms, but could use more lighting in the bathrooms. Continental breakfast had a great selection with both hot and cold selections. Lobby also has some microwavable and frozen selections. Highly recommend this hotel for those staying in Wpg.
This is a nice, new, comfortable and quiet hotel. Also of note was the quiet air conditioning in the room. We enjoyed our stay and were impressed in general. But there were a couple issues: we found the lighting very dark in the room, especially in the bathroom. We also found the water pressure in the shower terribly low - they're trying to conserve water, obviously, with a low pressure shower head, but as a man with short hair I could hardly wash shampoo out of my hair (I can't imagine what someone with long hair would do)!
Highly recommend this stopover if passing through Winnipeg. Located slightly west of downtown it is a perfect rest stop if you don't want to be right in the city. Hotel is modern, looks new from outside and in. Rooms are comfortable, clean and very updated. This has been our best lodging experience on our travels this far.
Location: This hotel was perfect for us - we were not in the area to visit Winnipeg but were just passing through. We picked it based on the location knowing it was on the side of the highway. Breakfast: the breakfast choices were very good - many hot items and pretty much anything else anyone might want for breakfast. The two women who were managing the breakfast area were very friendly and kept everything organized and nicely presented.
This relatively new hotel is located just west of the Winnipeg bypass, which was great as we returned from BC and were heading home. Clean well appointed rooms, quiet and great hot breakfast. Everything a traveler needs! Pet friendly too!
the room I was in was clean, and updated, made you feel appreciated. Staff were friendly and accommodating. easy to get to from the highway. although 20 mins from the airport this hotel was worth the extra distance compared to others I have stayed at and paid more for.
On our way to ont to see my grandaughter and stayed here at this hotel. Just for one night but had the best relax full sleep then I had in years. Everything was great breakfast was really good the staff were perfect and always there to help you out.the rooms were clean and bright. Hey pick the best western and you will not be sorry. They are great
we stayed here the June 24th weekend, my daughter competed in the fun fest at the red river ex, and we got a to stay at the best western. this hotel i newer, the rooms are huge, clean and very comfortable beds. the front desk is fast and friendly the hotel itself is very clean, and the staff is helpful, kind, and quick. the pool area is nice and clean, although we found it to be salty, but you know it was clean. the whole hotel seems to be in excellent condition, the Denny's nest door is great and also the flying J is in the same parking lot. they also have a restaurant i would stay here again for sure. the pool are has a slide so kids will have fun. the price is reasonable as well. and after seeing the size of the room i would say it was a deal.
Stayed here for a few nights in between a long drive. We got a great deal on the room and were upgraded to a suite. Hotel was very clean and close to a Denny's and Tim Horton's. We also appreciated how close to the highway it was, although some may find it noisy. We would definitely stay here again.
This is our second visit and the first was phenomenal so we thought this time would be too. But we had some issues. Firstly our toilet was plugged from the moment we used it (and no it wasn't us). They brought us a plunger which did nothing. They couldn't get someone in until much later so we had to move rooms. I will so they were efficient with the move and we got an identical room on a different floor. BW seems to have something against normal size towels (never mind for large people like me who should know to bring their own..) and being able to block light in the rooms. Do they have something against curtains you can close and bath sheets for the larger population who need them? Tying two towels together to walk up from the pool seemed excessive but you do what you gotta do. The room was delightful, clean and comfy. Breakfast was great, clean, stocked and not crowded. Checking in was a breeze, I have yet to check out. Wed stay here again but not without bringing my own towels (why should I have to though?) and taking a blanket to the window..
Nice place. Clean. But don't expect quality room service. 2 of 3 mornings no one came to clean the room and provide new towels. Front desk didn't have a clue on how to handle when I called them. It was quite disappointing, considering that the place was nearly twice as expensive as hotel down the road. Find a better place to stay.
When traveling with pets, it is always a challenge to find a hotel that not only welcomes you and your pet, but doesn't stick you in a crappy room and also charge some stupid pet fee (that they say is for extra cleaning). This hotel not only welcomes pets, but will take their picture and display it on a bulletin board in the lobby. Plus - you get a nice room. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in Winnipeg. Great breakfast too.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stays at this hotel. It is always clean and beautiful. The staff are excellent. The pool is awesome and fun. AND they have rooms to accommodate a larger family WITHOUT splitting us up into 2 rooms!!!!
in addition to the ease of access off the perimeter in Winnipeg, the room was very clean, the free breakfast was excellent. Will definitely return on our visit. My husband found the mattress a little soft, but I had a good sleep.
We had a group (16 rooms) plus a hospitality suite during our stay. The staff were very helpful. The hotel is new and kept in great condition. They were professionals and accommodating to our group. If you have a large group, I highly recommend the hospitality suite. It is a very good value.
Check in was fast and efficient. Rooms had lots of room and had nice beds. The hot breakfast was wonderful. We had a big family gathering and used the overflow room so we could all have breakfast together. Swimming pool and slide were nice for the kids. Check out was fast and efficient. Would stay here again!
PROS: Very clean, well presented , great decor. Loved the king suite we stayed in, great bed and pillows, Very nice staff. CONS: no plugins beside each side of the bed for electronics, water pressure was not good, and the bathroom is very small almost to the point that when you open the door it hits the bathroom toilet Would defiantly stay again since the cons are really nothing. Thanks!
Had a very good stay here with Family in January. Great pool area and business center. The rooms are very clean and dont use the damn swipe cards for entry, just put up to RFID and boom. Good size rooms with Kitchenettes and seperate Bedrooms if need be. Large TVs. Only complaint I had is I had a note from Housekeeping Manager to stop smoking in my room or else I will be charged 250 or whatever. This place is close to a very large truck stop and when I stayed there I open my windows in my room every time at every hotel, well the truck stop outside my window blew dieslel smell into the room as I forgot to close before my meetings and came back to that. It also could have been the lighters in my room as I need them for torches at work, but either way never smoked a cigarette in my room because I wouldnt even know how to do it as I have never smoked!!! That made me quite unhappy, but overall that coulld be overlooked.
We had travelled all the way across the prairies and all we wanted was a relaxing place. Unfortunately, although we had requested ground floor room, we had an upper pool view room, which, with no windows to the outside made it very dark and because there was a hockey tournament going on, there was a lot of noise in the pool. Having done a day of hard driving, the last thing we want to do is get in the car and drive to a restaurant for dinner. We had to drive a couple of kilometres as there was only a Denny;s nearby. We also would have liked to look at TV after dinner, but the guide showed only a meagre number of channels working: Hotel channel; TV Guide; on 10 an American channel; Global News; three more channels; Finally a Canadian channel CTV, but it was scrambled and we could not view it; then CBC; then about four other nondescript channels; CBC News Network and CTV News Channel. In all, about two dozen channels. The deplorable access to Canadian channels was appalling; surely here in Canada, they should be listed among the very first. OK, Global was up near the front. Instead, American channels were listed first. I know the site is close to the USA border, but that should not determine which channels come first. Breakfast was very average and there was no bacon. Nor hard boiled eggs .I believe this was the hotel at which there were no scrambled eggs either, only some sort of omelette, although I may be wrong there. I go to a hotel to relax after a day of work or travel. I expect it to suit my requirements. This hotel did not. So many hotels; so many other good hotels. Should hotel management opt to review this review, they should also look at my other near 200 reviews and only two others (the ABBA museum in Stockholm and another hotel in the USA) rated as badly as this one.
Wonderful location just on the outskirts of Winnipeg. Clean hotel and room. Kids had fun at the pool. Staff were very friendly and approachable. I wish more hotels had option of cooktop and full fridge like this one. Already planning to stay again.
We stayed in the Best Western Plus Headingly for about 3 months, while our house was being renovated. The hotel is spotless, the staff is awesome, and the pool and water slide are amazing! We had a 7 year old, a 6 year old, and a 2 year old with us. They had a terrific experience! And, as a bonus, they have special pet friendly floors! I would recommend this hotel to everyone. 5 STARS!
Everything at this property is Five Star... Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Front desk was nothing but helpful Breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent. I will most certainly stay there again, when in Winnipeg, and would strongly encourage all to do the same. This property is excellent
After being on the go since early morning and driving for an afternoon, it was wonderful to return to this hotel where I had previously stayed with my family on a few occasions. Though the pool is a little cool, after a few minutes of gradually introducing myself to the water, I was able to get in and swim comfortably. The breakfast selection was terrific, as usual, and the beds were as comfortable as any bed could be if not sleeping in my own bed. I particularly enjoy this hotel because of its location. It is only a few minutes away from Walmart, restaurants and other business establishments, yet is on the western outskirts of the city in a quiet location. It is a perfect hotel to stay in if you are planning to head west the next day and have no desire to fight with city traffic.
I was very impressed the moment I stepped into the lobby, great check in staff. When I got the room they were very nicely decorated and very clean. Took my kids to the poll and it was the best pool area when have experienced. Beds are so comfortable, I would recommend this hotel to anyone!!
Really enjoyed our stay again. First we were worried since our floor seemed quite full, but to our surprise we were in for a good nights rest. In the morning we were treated to a nice breakfast. It was very busy in the breakfast room, but they kept up with replenishing all the different items. Great job. We will be back for sure.
We are still currently at this hotel. Family loves the proximity to everything. Makes visiting Winnipeg landmarks easy. Amenities in building are good, but have room for improvement. For example, the bathroom layout is terrible. If you are at the sink, the door must be closed.. The door opens into the toilet too. Also, in the pool area, the floors are very slick. Saw several kids, including my own, wipe out on the pool deck. I slid myself just walking. As for breakfast, variety of food is good, however, quality is poor at best. Hot foods are cold, supplies were low. OJ was watered down bc juice needed replaced. On the positive note, rooms were comfortable and clean. Cleaners came in every day to make our beds and change trash. Do wish they'd vacuum though. (due to sand from roads on shoes) All and all good stay here. Especially for those staying with children.
What a wonderful hotel. Great pool for kids, hotel is so clean. We will definitely stay at this hotel again in future. Lots of selection for breakfast and they let my daughter swim even after we checked out of our room.
We were here a few years ago and weren't so empresses but gave it another chance, glad we did. We had a king suite, separate bedroom with tv , living room full kitchen stove top toaster dishes, sink to wash dishes. Everything was excellent. Pool floor was not slippery like last time we were there and the chlorine levels were much lower as last time we couldn't breath in the pool area. Nice to see the complains were fixed. Nice water slide and fountains for kids but not much space for adult swimming, more of a kids pool. Hot tub is small so if kids are playing in it now place to relax. We went early morning. It would be very nice to have adult time in pool as so many children are in the pool in the day and evening. 10 00 pm, is a little early to close so 10 to 11 would be very appreciated by many adults I'm sure. Small suggestion for the kitchen a bigger garbage can would be nice as we filled it very quickly , the toaster was only working on one side and not all cutlery was there, but ever all excellent and very clean modern hotel......close to Denny's restaurant.
It was a very relaxed stay, very quiet, swimming pool/hot tub was fun. Outside of the city, but close enough for shopping and pleasure. A good place to break away from home. Service was excellent and I enjoy always the good stuffed breakfast, with the different flavors of waffles. Kitchen-Service filled up and cleaned up right away and is very friendly.
I expect more when I stay at a Best Western. This hotel fell well short of this standard. Having to drive through the Flying J to even get to the hotel, a sloppy lobby which could use a more friendly ambience and more prompt service, accessibility to electrical outlet at the bedside, an non-understandable room temperature control system, and a better breakfast system are all things which require attention to make this a better place to stay. Don't stay here if you have like a stay at another Best Western - there is simply no comparison.
Though just outside the city of Winnipeg, it is a very short drive to restaurants and shopping. The rooms are clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. My only caution is that this seems to be a very popular hotel and on the weekend there are a lot of youths using the wonderous pool facilities and acting like children (noisy).
We were surprised that this hotel on western outskirts of Winnipeg was absolutely beautiful. The courtesy and ambience was very professional and rooms were awesome. The hotel will be on my list of places to stay in Winnipeg
Very clean new hotel. Beds extremely comfortable. Included breakfast featured make your own waffles (2 types), hot eggs, bacon, bread choices, yogurt and so much more. Did not get to try pool, waterslide or hot tub but the area looked very enjoyable.
We enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast was always good with a variety of hot and cold food every day. Nice computer area, pool and hot tub. Everything is clean and the rooms were very nice. Comfortable beds. Thanks for making our stay a great one!
Comfortable and large rooms. Wonderful pool area and great choices of hot and cold breakfast selections. Staff is always friendly and we have stayed here multiple times. Great location when you are overnighting in Winnipeg and you can hop on the perimeter and head out of town first thing in the morning.
I stayed here for 3 nights in February while I was in town for a family situation and therefore had to book at the last minute. I got a good deal on Priceline. I stayed here alone. I like a good pro/con list so here you go! Pros • Very well priced in comparison to all those around – I did my research with many search engines • It seems like it's out of the way because its across the perimeter but it's like two blocks on the other side so it wasn't far • Very friendly staff • Very kid friendly…kids everywhere. I think they outnumbered the adults • The pool looked cool and kids seemed to love it • Room had both a small fridge, coffee maker and a microwave • Top floor was pretty quiet but kids were running up and down the halls. Not the hotels fault, that was parents who just had enough! • Wifi was great, never had a problem • Free Breakfast is always nice. It was your typical hotel breakfast with hot food not overly hot, but cereal, toast, waffles etc are a bonus • Television fully loaded with channels. • Great temperature control in the room • Room was a good size, I had 2 queens and there was room for luggage. Had a closet and a desk too • Car plugins are in the parking lot. Coming from BC, I thought that was great. Maybe that's normal everywhere in Winnipeg! Cons • The shower, mine anyway, was quite weak. If you are a power shower type of person, this could be a deal breaker • The parking lot always seemed packed, but there is another lot around back if you want to brace the extra few steps in -30 degrees! • With the kids everywhere, it was quite loud come 7:30am. I slept with earplugs which definitely helped. So way more pros than cons. I'd stay here again, hopefully never in February.
My husband and I went for a spur of the moment over night for Valentine's Day. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk for almost 10 mins. We ordered a king size bed room and we had a confirmation number they had it. We booked it on line. They said they were out and put us in a room with 2 queen size beds. Lots of families were there which is fine but the parents were not watching their kids a lot of the time. They were running up and down the halls yelling and playing on the carpet in the halls. This went on until almost 11 pm. The people across the hall had their door propped open do we could hear them in their room. Could not see any staff around dealing with this issue. This is supposed to be a hotel not a zoo. Not impressed at all.
Lovely place great swimming pool for kids...clean room comfortable bed and great staff very friendly ..good morning breakfast included will stay there again fully booked due to snowstorm but was very quiet ...pool was busy with kids it was great
When I stay on business I always look for a Best Western. The friendly staff and clean rooms are almost always a guarantee! They always go out of their way to ensure I am satisfied with my stay! Headingley is a nice hotel with very friendly staff that is always very accommodating! Being on the edge of Winnipeg it makes for an easy commute to anywhere I need to be in the area. I will stay again!
great value and service....... exceptional staff always clean and welcoming a real pleasure. would highly recommend and would definetely stay there again. I have stayed there previously because of medical issues and the staff went out of there way to help with luggage etc.
Disappointed that we tried this hotel for New Years. Pool was shallow , and water was cold. The temperature in the pool area was so hot that most of us felt unwell. They don't allow drinks nor any snacks In pool area, very disappointed with this. Therefore the party was in rooms and in hallways till wee hours as the pool area was so restricted . Costed an extra 20$ a night for our dog which was double the last dog friendly hotel, yet nothing for the dog at all. We scrambled for dishes as nothing was supplied other than an extra fee. Only compliment was the great continental breakfast and nice room. Entire hotel temperature was uncomfortably hot, won't be going back, don't recommend pool unless you children are under 7 years old , they won't be swimming however walking around the pool.??
We've stayed here several times and have enjoyed it every time. They have great staff, the breakfast is good, the kids LOVE the pool and the rooms are restful. Great place to stay and we will for sure be staying here again.
nicely done, great staff,,denny,s right next door within easy walking distance,,staff were extremely helpful,,easy to find ,,just outside the city limits but then again that's why I picked it,,close to main entrance ( portage ave) on highway #1 ,,timmies just down the road .will stay again
I was really impressed with this hotel and I will be back - Great room - spotless - outstanding coffee - awesome breakfast offerings included in price. Free wifi.Home made cookies from the staff was a nice touch for Christmas. The bed was the best! I was overlooking the parking lot but the room was well insulated for sound.
Stayed for 6 nights, loved having a kitchen to use in the room! Great stay, very helpful staff! The computer Center was in a great place to use as the kids could swim and I could use the computer! Would stay again!
Bed was nice with extra pillows. Quiet room. Enjoyed pool and hot tub and water slide. Staff friendly Nice to have breakfast choices at no extra cost. At edge of city so not close to many things but was OK for our needs. Can walk to Dennys and store.
We stay here every time I fly in to Winnipeg as it is fairly close to the airport. My grandchildren love the pool and waterslide as well as the hot tub. This last time we had a mini suite, no separate bedroom but a pullout couch as well as two comfy beds with 2 tvs. There was lots of extra room for the kids to play. The hotel is also pet friendly which we appreciated as my daughter's westie is diabetic and needs to travel with her. There are lots of choices for breakfast tho they were having some trouble with waffle makers. There are both large waffles and mini ones so great for kids, with lots of special toppings like strawberries and whipped cream! Beds are comfy and hotel quiet, great staff! Would highly recommend!
This was not my first stay at this location and it won't be my last. I will continue to stay at this location as long a room is available. Great room, great rate, great staff. The pool area is a good size and the slide fun for the kids. The breakfast has a pretty good selection of hot and cold choices. The staff are super friendly. This is a great place to stay.
My family stayed here while in Winnipeg for a concert. The hotel was great. The friendly staff greeted you as you arrived and were eager to help with any requests. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool was great, we enjoyed the water slide, and the vortex. The Hotel was located close to other amenities that travelers would require like a service station and restaurant. I would recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again.
stayed one night here and two nights in west kelowna at best western both were excellent and i would stay there again at either of these. good location for winnipeg as on TC 1 but not good dining option unless you drive somewhere.
We booked a suite, under the impression that this hotel understood the definition of a suite (not a couch and bed in the same room), the floor in the pool area is incredibly slippery and dangerous, the water is freezing, the staff make no effort to help with any requests.
This Best Western Hotel is new and clean. Staff was great. The bed was awesome and I had a wonderful sleep. Breakfast was just okay. Check in and out was done very promptly. I would definitely stay at this property again. Close to MTS Iceplex and many restaurants.
I've stayed at this hotel twice now, and have to say I was really impressed. King bed w/tv on the dresser, sitting area with a couch (which turns into a hide-a-bed if needed), table and another tv, Nice bathroom and jetted tub. This hotel is clean, and has a very nice continental breakfast. They have the usual plus sausage and eggs. Another welcome touch was the Keurig's in the rooms. This hotel is only minutes from Winnipeg and shopping. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and will definitely be back. This is not a luxury hotel, but in my mind, it is definitely above the norm.
Nice property with pool and waterslide. Excellent breakfast. Great location when passing through Winnipeg.Stayed here on our way home on vacation from US. Used the hot tub to loosen up our muscles after a long day of travel.
My husband is a truck driver so we appreciate the special rate for truckers. It is very handy to the Flying J truck stop and on the edge of the city. the room was clean and the beds comfortable. We did not have time to enjoy the pool, unfortunatley.
Nice hotel, great well kept pool, breakfast bar is nice however my son is peanut allergic and it was not to tidy and clean (open peanut butter wrappers left on tables and counter). Rooms are large and clean king bed is not the most comfortable (Hiltons are better). I think the price if you get it online is alright but not cheap. Staff is nice and helpful, location is out of city limits but I feel my vehicle is safer here than in the city. I will stay here again if I get a good rate.
This is a great place to stay! beds are super comfy, good size rooms, very clean, pool very nice perfect for kids! staff were all very nice. It is a great location easy to get to. We were there for a cat show which was at the race track, it took us 2 minutes to get there! gas station and Dennys right beside it. Our 7 year old loved the pool, slide and we enjoyed the hot tub. The breakfast area was roomy and had a lot of choices. Bonus is having the keureg in the room!!
Hi, We stayed here for one night on our way through to Alberta. It is brand new and very clean. Clean is very important and we felt very comfortable here. The employees were very nice and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. One little problem we had was: we were told that breakfast was at 6:00. We wanted an early start as we had a long trip that day. We had stayed at other BWplus along the way. They had the same breakfast menu. So I wanted waffles and bacon. We got downstairs at 6:02. No waffles. No bacon. Just eggs and sausage. It looked like he kitchen was set up for more but nothing was there. So being dissappointed I just had toast and fruit. About 6:12 the waffles were available. Too late for me. Then at 6:20 the bacon came out. Nope, too late for me. If I'm told that breakfast is at 6:00 I expect everything to be out for people that need to be out early. Not in bits and pieces as the server decides to put them out. Every other place when they say that breakfast is at a certain time then everything is ready at that certain time. So we were very upset with kitchen service but the rest of the employees were very nice and helpful.
This hotel location is very convenient! A beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. The rooms were amazing and the breakfast had good choices. The coffee was excellent and the pool was a great place to have some fun (Kids would love this pool). If I am ever in Manitoba again, I will definitely be staying at this hotel!
Good location while on the road. Convenient and easy to access. Although close to the highway, room are quiet. Beds are good but could be a little more firm in my opinion. Excellent value for the price to spend one night while in transit.
Had a great time on the water slide. Lovely, convenient pet friendly room. The room was very clean. Internet worked well. Enjoyed our stay. We were running late and staff let us stay a little longer. Thanks.
First time we stayed in this hotel. It's location is not convenient when you want to go shopping in the city or head downtown, but if you are planning on heading out west first thing in the morning, it is ideal! I booked it because of that reason and to try out the pool (well, my 7 year old daughter is) and we liked the hotel. It is fairly new, well organized and very clean! And....she loved the pool! We will be going back for sure.
Stayed here one overnight while driving east and found it to be ok. The room and the overall hotel were clean, staff were friendly, easy to get to off the Trans Canada Highway 1, lots of parking. It was quiet and has a basic free light breakfast. There is also a Denny's right next door. I would stay again.
Very friendly service at check in, nice clean and quiet room to just relax and have a good night sleep. Enjoyed a great breakfast to start the day right and continued our journey. We'll be back here for sure. Keep up the great job!
