Resumen de la reserva
Top notch stay - all through 40+ years. Always clean!! Grounds kept up. Buildings kept up. Someone actually cares about their business. And compared with prices of other chain hotels this has always been great. We just stayed for $107 for two - king room with extra loveseat and chair area in addition to desk plus breakfast in restaurant. Previous trips kids have enjoyed the pool, always enjoy dinner at the Legal Tender. Granted the interior of the restaurant hasn't changed for years but always good. Would highly recommend a stay here.
I enjoyed my stay here while passing through Evanston, WY. Place has been updated as you can tell it is older units, It is definitely modernized. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice fluffy pillows. Well lit parking lot as well as a friendly staff! Thank you Best Western Dunmar INN for a wonderful stay!
Quiet, clean, and always reliable. Our place to always stay when we visit Evanston. Good breakfast buffet, and good evening meal at Legal Tender. This has been a regular spot for us to go to since we've lived in SLC UT. Easy drive there, and back.
A very disappointing visit. The photos online made this place look spotless, cozy but bright, with a spacious bathroom and a nice bed. Is it because we had pets with us? We were placed in a room that looked nothing like the photos. It was old, the bathroom was so tiny that you had to straddle the toilet to close the door, and the bed was quite literally BROKEN. Like, you would begin rolling off of the bed if you laid down on it, and it felt like a big lump of springs. Only about 2 feet of the king mattress seemed to be in tact, of course it was hard as rock, but what else should I expect in a hotel. The linens and bathroom seemed clean, the rest of the room was okay, some dirt and crumbs of some sort left behind in the corners, but it just felt…musty. Not fresh and bright, not at all as fancy and modern as the lobby (which is apparently where they put all of their money to make a good first impression), and overall very sad and old and disappointing. When we came in, the heat was running…in August, while it was almost 90 degrees out. The heat was so quiet, and the thermostat so old and faded, I didn't notice it was on until the next day. Thank goodness the AC unit at least worked well—this proved to be the only pro other than the fact that our room was spacious. We ordered dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel and the amount of pasta they gave us for $45 (before tip) was laughable. It tasted fine enough, nothing special but not bad. The restaurant is old and dank, too, though. Everything just felt so old, which would be fine (as it is Evanston after all) but for $168?! Outrageous. We will skip Best Western's as a whole after this.
Cute roadside older Best Western eith restaurant attached. Food is good there. Be advised all rooms are outdoor entry. Hotel is ok but needs refurbishing. All the rooms are dark with lights on and the mattresses desperately need replacing. Good for a quick overnight stay but not longer. Outdated AC units allow a lot of outside noise in.
No maid service for our 4-day stay. We had to ask for fresh towels and I mopped the floor when we got there, they were pretty dirty. The hostess at the breakfast buffet was extremely rude. We only went for one breakfast buffet although we were entitled to 8 (4 days x 2people)
The is a $100.00 at best hotel that charged me over $182.00. The air condition is a unit stuck thur the wall that hardly cools and is loud. There was hair on the toilet bowl and tub, there was a used bath towel hanging on the shower rod. Really makes me wonder how much cleaning was done after the last guest. The only positive things were the front desk clerk, very nice, and the restaurant had pretty good food. I won't stay again. Thought I would try it since I always stay at the Holiday Inn Express or Hampton here, no more. I will go back to one of the others.
The hotel was easy to find with easy off and on to the freeway. It was quite and clean. The bed was comfortable. It has it's own restaurant on site that is very good which made getting dinner after a long day of driving great. The free breakfast was served in the restaurant also.
This is one of the oldest BW properties in the country. 50's style motel but it's been updated well. Outdoor pool only. Restaurant and lounge on site.
Fantastic rooms. Clean, spacious, easy parking, and comfortable. The show had an adjustable flow, so you could choose between having the water dump on you like a hose or having a fine mist so wide it missed most of your body. The on-site restaurant had a well-stocked salad bar and fresh fruit for breakfast.
Just like the title says, this place was pretty nice and the restaurant was great, but the room we were given wasn't the best. I could see the potential for charging $180 a night if the room was in perfect working order. In our room, the toilet had issues flushing, paint and trim was in need of painting, the bed was slanted towards the headboard, etc.. This could have been a 10 experience if they had checked the room and made sure everything was in working order before letting me check in. Also, we were put pretty far from the front lobby, in a second parking lot, so my two little girls and I had to walk a little bit to get to the restaurant. Someone tried my car door handle at 2am and set the alarm off. I stayed up a bit to make sure they didn't come back. Overall, it could be a VERY nice hotel if rooms were inspected and cleaned well prior to renting. I'd probably try another place next time to see what the competition is like.
The TV remotes don't work, So you get to stand in line behind everyone, checking in to get The batteries replaced. Speaking of batteries.. The ones in my smoke alarm were dead also which meant it went off at 4 AM in the morning, So I got to Get dressed call maintenance to come up to my room To have them pull the whole alarm out while my dog is freaking out in the bathroom under the vanity. The restaurant is short staffed and if you don't check your food before you leave to go back to your room, You might not get what you ordered. If you ask the hotel to show you up on the bill for the bad experience, That doesn't happen either. In theory, it's a good option on the road, But there are other options.
A very nice place to stay-- all the necessary amenities are on site and staff are very friendly and accommodating.
This place is sprawling with mostly one story buildings. Exceptionally nice front desk staff. Rooms are dated, but fine. Loud AC unit in room was a bummer.
It has a bit of a throwback feel to an era of sprawling roadside hotels, but we had a good experience there and would certainly stay there again. Relatively easy to get to from I-80, but does not have the feel of a generic "freeway exit" hotel. Be aware that some rooms require a long outdoor walk to reach the front desk/breakfast area.
We picked this hotel online because it was "pet friendly " and it was . They only charged $20 a night for both dogs. The room had older carpet and an odd smell but the bed was wonderful and the motel style made it easy to unload the car. The breakfast bar was really good compared to most. Kat was our server and she was delightful. Thirty minutes after we left , we got a phone call from the front desk telling us that we had left my husband's wallet in the room. We turned around and raced back to the hotel. Not a single thing was missing- what a great blessing that was. We'd like to thank the staff for their incredible integrity . Could have been a disaster but all we lost was one hour of drive time. We will stay here again on our way back home.
This hotel is really good, everything, clean rooms, excellent service and good food.I have been coming here since the mid 90's. I have never had a problem.
Walked into the room and it felt like an icebox when it was 10 degrees outside! The heating in the room is outdated, I think it was put in in the 1970's ! It then took approximately 3 hours to somewhat warm up! Dont waste your money on this place because it needs updating badly. Please go to Holiday Inn express and get a real room just up the street!
1st of all I wish I hadn't used my points for a free room at this Motel. We travel from Illinois to Nevada to Arizona and back to Illinois a few times a year. If I find good reviews for a Best Western in a town we are stopping in I use them. We stay at several, but I just used 10,000 points on the worst we have stayed in. I guess they stick you in an older room if your stay is free?? The room had dust very thick, stains on a chair that I wouldn't even sit in. I thought maybe I would take an extra towel and use it but there were only two. The spot that we should have parked in had a curb through a portion of it so we couldn't back all the way in even if we wanted to! Which we absolutely would not because there was a 6 ft high bush with very thick branches that would have scratched my car. We will be staying at more Best Westerns on this trip but I just wasted my points!! Very unhappy. Oh, this is supposed to be a recently renovated motel. I'd like to know where. Shower is clean, can only hope the bed is comfortable. We are extremely tired from a long day of travel. Another thing is I noticed when getting ready to review this is that there is just a very general response to reviews. I assume I will get one saying they are very sorry the room didn't meet my blah blah blah and hope I'll give them another chance blah blah blah. Overall just very dissatisfied.
We drive cross-country all the time, so a good, reliable stay is important. You get that here! Good staff, great breakfast, and a great location make this a convenient stop on the highway. (There's even a waterfall in front!)
We were disappointed in this hotel. The entry area and lobby were very nice, but it's an older and dated motel, with units quite a ways from the lobby, and up an incline. We couldn't get into the first room we were given, and after 2 trips to the lobby, we were given a different room. The bathroom was tiny, and the air conditioning was an added unit.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Was assigned a “pet-friendly” room and it smelled like fresh dog poop - absolutely disgusting. The room was a throw back to the 1980's and felt unclean. We paid $187 and was never given or emailed a receipt. Would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone.
The room needs serious updating. Our room keys were deactivated long before our checkout. No vent fan in bathroom. The floor seemed rotted out giving in multiple places. The door to the toilet wouldn't open all the way. The floor grout was missing lots of pieces two of the lamps in the main room didn't work at all
I have stayed here for the past 6 nights and checking out in the morning. I wanted to make sure that I reviewed this hotel before leaving. I do not know why some people have complained about this hotel at all. I have traveled a lot for business and with family, and typically stay in a Hilton or Marriott brand hotel, but in this case I chose to stay at this hotel as my friends recommended it. While the outside of the hotel takes you back to the 1970's, the rooms are renovated, at least my room and my friend's rooms were. Both rooms were very spacious, very clean, the bed was comfortable, there was no smell as some people have stated, and everything worked in the room. In my 6 nights, I have not had one issue with the internet. I had requested a room cleaning once during my stay, and they did an excellent job. I rated it 5 stars because it is a bargain as far as I am concerned, absolutely no complaints whatsoever. It is not a resort, but a very clean, quiet, comfortable place to stay. If anyone thinks I wear "rose colored glasses" and always give positive reviews, that is false. This place, like any other place I've stayed, visited, or eaten deserves the rating I have given.
Decent place, but weak to no wireless signal means you're on your data plan to use the Internet. Unacceptable in today's world. The property is very spread out. The parking space configuration in front of my room made it unuseable, blocked by other cars.
This is a hard one to review. It was mostly good. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had 2 rooms, one for my husband & I and one for my parents. When we opened the door to my parent's room, the smell was awful, I can't even explain the smell. There was no way I would've been able to stay in that room. Thankfully my parents carry febreze spray with them, so they could mask it a bit. We were going to try to get them another room, but they said they'd be fine. We had the room next to them and we had 2 small dogs with us so I was prepared for it to smell worse. Our room didn't smell bad like theirs did. It was a little “off” but I handled it fine. The hotel is laid out with single story buildings with a few rooms in each, which was charming. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was clean. Overall our room was fine, but if I had my parent's room I would've asked for a different one. We had a truck and boat trailer and were lucky enough to park it in front of our building, but because of the layout, I would call to make sure they can accommodate vehicles with trailers.
I needed to get a document sent, front desk did not blink, just helped without a question and with a very good attitude. Love the idea of the location of the rooms. The place was clean, the breakfast was a good variety, and the staff very friendly and helpful
Hotel standards have gone way downhill. Room was not cleaned well, phone was broken, breakfast was poor as well as cold (buffet as opposed to individual order in the past). Hotel just run down. I would not stay here again.
The rooms have been renovated and the mattresses are very comfortable. For a pet friendly room it was very clean and undamaged. Carpeting was clean and a nice berber texture. The on-premise restaurant is very convenient and has a good selection on the menu. The complimentary breakfast was very nice with eggs, hash browns, sausage, pancakes, assortment of fresh fruit, yogurt, orange juice, cold cereal and bagels to toast.
This is a cute hotel. I love that you can park outside your room ... and no stairs to climb. Breakfast was okay, nice fruit offered. The beds were good and comfy. It is old style hotel with the phones still next to the toilet (lol).
The beds were good and slept very well. The WIFI was adequate for personal use. The breakfast included cereal, milk, eggs, sausage and yogurt. There was enough seating for those eating. The check in process was quick and without problems. There was a good hot shower.
Extremely over priced for what you get. Out dated, dingy, dark and depressing. Terrible water pressure, fixture and disgusting shower floor. For the price I would absolutely choose the Holliday inn or Hampton.
This quaint little spot has your parking directly in front of your room. It's obviously an older place, but it is well kept. Beds are new and super comfy, lots of pillows, shower was fantastic. Breakfast was a bit disappointing.
Large area with plenty of rooms. Nice looking rooms. The lobby was very intriguing with there stuffed animals on display. The host was very friendly. Having a restaurant in the lobby area is very convenient.
Things were not the normal excellent experiences we usually have had. There we spiders in the room. The air conditioner was very noisy and it smelled of mildew, most likely due to non-maintenance. The room itself was comfortable and quiet, but attention is needed on some of these issues.
We *attempted* to stay here in early July of 2023 while road tripping with our pup. We don't need anything fancy, just a clean place to get some sleep before hitting the road again. Usually Best Western is just fine. When we checked into our room here, there was an awful odor that immediately gave both of us headaches. It smelled like mold and stale dog pee, and was not something we could have slept through. We requested to change rooms and the checkin staff moved us a few doors down. The odor in this room was EVEN WORSE, to the point where I started coughing immediately after opening the door. Absolutely unacceptable. At this point we were so disgusted with the hotel that we decided to book a room at the nearby Hilton instead, which turned out to be much better. Of course, the checkin desk could not offer me a refund, and there was no manager on duty to escalate too. I left the general manager a voicemail (about 40 hours ago as I write this), and have not received any response or acknowledgment. So, they still have my $117 and $20 pet fee, for which we got nothing but a headache. Please, save yourself the trouble, and stay somewhere else. The nearby Hilton is lovely with very friendly staff.
Nice older hotel, large layout. Fun place to stay. Onsite restaurant onsite, closes at 9pm, Large rooms with that old school charm. No on site laundry. Chemicals in the pool and hot tub are high, burns received.
Hotel was fairly old and is in need of some updating but was room was very clean and meet our needs. Check in was quick and the clerk was friendly. Breakfast was in there restaurant…premade cheese omelet, sausage links, cut up watermelon, grapes, and oranges, yogurt, bagels, and muffins (standard breakfast fare). Would stay again.
Other than wishing we could charge our car on the premises, this Evanston hotel suited us just fine. We were traveling on Thanksgiving weekend, so felt super lucky to find a nice clean room with a comfy bed and take a hot shower. Nice choice of food and fruit at breakfast and selection of herbal teas was appreciated.
Staff was extremely nice at check in. Room was just ok...ended up changing rooms due to problems in bathroom. Could use updating. On our way back home from trip out west we chose a different motel in Evanston.
The bar and lounge is a great place to hangout great service and the bartenders are awesome!! Food is great as well. We had the steak and wings for dinner and everything was done right. Would defiantly stay here again
I stay here frequently driving back from Salt Lake City on the weekend. Great place to watch football and get a good nights sleep. Driving through rural Wyoming at night is never a good idea, too much wildlife on the highways. This is very convenient as the rooms have exterior doors to the parking lot, quick transfer of luggage. The rooms are spacious, clean and well lit. The linens and towels are the quality one would find in a hotel 3 times the price of this property. Sets a bar the other Best Westerns will have a hard time reaching
The rooms smell like a mixture of cat urine and vomit. I have stayed here twice per year for work over the past 12 years. It's the same every time no matter what room I got. The carpet is stained and has a sticky feel.
I am losing trust in these reviews. The hotel is updated but still smells like an old hotel. I do not feel secure here as it isa motel style. Doors do not automatically shut. Beds are poorly made. The beds are comfortable and the shower is new. Towels are new.
Had a booking with Booking.com that didn't make it through. Staff and hotel manager didn't care. Hotel manager said „he has to call booking.com to take care of it“ to his staff while I was standing there. Not even looked at me. Not interested in helping me at all. Room was old, I could feel the springs of the mattress and room was not 100% clean. And the parking/entrance area right in front of the room was a mess. Someone spilled a milkshake and it was all over the place. Had to jump around not to step in. Called the front desk, they said they will take care of it. They didn't. Was still untouched in the morning. Told the front desk again on checkout, they didn't care. No apology. Not even a „goodbye“. Would avoid that hotel in any case, poor management and its not worth the price (136$).
This hotel can not be recommended for guests with physical disabilities. I reserved an accessible room, because I use a wheelchair. Arriving at the hotel, I did not see any disabled parking by the entrance/lobby and restaurant. Is this ADA-compliant? The room they gave me finally, they called “handicap” room, a term which is not to be used for 50 years :-) . The room was 0,3 miles from the main building at the very end of the hotel grounds, which are large and situated on a hill. That "accessible" room was in a building, which you can not reach with a manual wheelchair, because there were several bumps and gradients on the way, some parts of the streets are extremely steep. Especially the last yards leading to the "accessible" room have a gradient about 10 percent (see photo). The "accessible" room finally had a good disabled parking place, but in the room there was a bad odor, it smelled old and wet. The bathroom with a tub and toilet was such small, that it was not possible to close the door when sitting in a wheelchair. Going for breakfast meant to load the wheelchair into the car, ride with the car to the restaurant building where there was no disabled parking, looking for a parking place, unload the wheelchair, go to breakfast, then load the wheelchair again into the car, ride 0,3 miles to the “handicap” room, unload the wheelchair and so on. It is not understandable, why the "accessible" rooms are not located near the lobby. The only bright spot was a very sympathic waiter in the historic restaurant.
When making reservations you never know what to expect. With Best Western, we hope that there is a basic standard that each hotel must meet, but that has been proven wrong several times. But in the case of the Best Western Dunmar Inn Evanston, WY, reality far exceeded our expectations. After a day on the road, we pulled into what looked like a lovely little hotel off the interstate for the night. In reality it is much a larger hotel and feels more like a resort with beautiful grounds, water features, older but immaculately maintained buildings with large comfortable rooms, again immaculately maintained. There was no highway noise or any noise from parking lot or neighboring rooms. We had a good night's sleep. Service from check-in to checkout was impeccable. The hotel has a full service restaurant and bar. This is the place locals come to eat and for good reason. An extra bonus is that I'm vegan and I was able to have a well prepared vegan burger and fixins - this may seem trivial, but I just finished a luxurious cruise where the food offerings were a plate of lettuce with olive oil. We now have a favorite place to stay when traveling through this part of the country.
Quick one night stop over on a long road trip. Front desk agent, Carole was terrific and very accommodating. Had to move rooms due to an issue, but the second room was great (except for non working fridge). Very comfortable beds. Loved the ability to back in to a spot in front of the room. Donny at the bar was very nice. Take out dinner from the restaurant was very good. Breakfast not so much.
We had booked a reservation for Best Western Dunmar Inn through Expedia, however upon arrival the desk clerk was unable to find the reservation. We had the Expedia confirmation with reservation number and correct date for Dunmar Inn but the clerk said their in-house system did not have the info and they could not assist us. We ended up having to drive an extra 100 miles that night to find lodging in Rock Springs. I don't want to blame Dunmar Inn for the whole reservation problem. No doubt there are glitches that can occur between large computer systems such as Expedia and Best Western. But honestly we would have hoped that Dunmar Inn could us set up with the room type shown on our Expedia prepaid confirmation while the system issues got resolved. The clerk's unwillingness to assist us in any way did not leave a good impression. Eventually Expedia did issue a refund for the reservation. But it wasn't really the best result - and didn't reverse a long and frustrating day.
The quality of the room has stayed about the same over time, however the Legal Tender Restaurant on site has declined. Last evening those dining were mostly “over 50”. We suppose the adjoining bar had the same too loud pop music playing, however it was not welcoming to folks expecting a pleasant finer dining experience. This Best Western advertises a top notch stay, and yet the restaurant needed a good after hours cleaning. Woodwork trim along the booths had a layer of dust and spatter not touched in a while. Details matter, and it was enough to keep us from staying for the breakfast included with our room. We paid extra for our pet, and frankly the pet lawn pooh container was full to overflowing, and both bag rolls empty. Guess we'll try a new place next time……
Great hotel with lots of character. Great curb appeal. And breakfast is in the restaurant instead of a lobby/breakfast room. Fantastic staff. Clean. Great stay. Water fountain in front, grass and mature trees.
This was one of the nicest Best Western hotels I've been to. The front desk service was quick and efficient. The property is very large with rooms set in several courtyards. Our room in the 700s section was very large, clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was a full breakfast buffet style... eggs sausage, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, fruit, etc. in a full service restaurant setting. A nice surprise.
Super large older property with mainly one level motor court back up to the door style rooms (except for 2 level s in back of property) Room was large and beds comfy! Decor updated, Gorgeous fountain at entrance to the property , but the breakfast was AMAZING , we were there on a weekend and had the Buffet with fresh fruits and hot selections that were excellent, yogurts, cereal. Fun to sit in a 70s style restaurant with big booths and seating, SUPER FRIENDLY employees! Great to walk around the big property afterwards also and see the pretty plants and trees. Highly recommend for the price and easy to get to from freeway, can't wait to come back!
Stayed here for months in 2012 and it was a great hotel, very accommodating. While traveling through Wyoming I decided to give it go in 2022 and wasn't disappointed. This is an older hotel but clean and laid out perfect, quiet and if you have parking needs (Truck/ Trailer) this place works.
Room ok but not what we booked Dîner no more soup before 7 pm Breakfast no orange juice Buffet horrible and dirty looking we passed and did not eat When we checked in the clerk told we would get a discount as the room allocated was below what we reserved But at check out no discount anymore given
There is not much else in this area other than Evanston, but we were very plesantly surprised by this Best Western. The staff was super friendly. The free breakfast was hot with multiple options. The full facility is a single story so all the rooms are ground level. The room we were provided was much larger than expected. And the grounds were very nicely landscaped with grass and trees.
Allowed my cat! The place is super cute - had a nice pool and hot tub. The free breakfast was wonderful for non-vegans. Only wish they would add vegan pancakes or more vegan options. The decor in the front entrance is very area-specific. I've never seen a grizzly before but they have a taxidermy version up on his front legs. We were plenty satisfied with the cleanliness and convenience of this place (just a little bit off the highway) and very glad to have found a place that allowed a cat without some crazy fee. (Many places allow dogs but not cats).
This hotel is all single level, all beautiful off white colonial brick. Large rooms, super parking. Very clean, great king bed and pillows. A walk to included buffet breakfast., if your in an accessible room …?… clean, great service. Breakfast was good. If you are offended by the art of taxidermy , have someone else check in. If not enjoy. The grizzly is the real deal. The coyote and the two badgers are very beautiful, nature at it's best.
We have stayed at this hotel several times. Every time it's a great experience the rooms are always clean and the staff is always friendly. If we're anywhere close to needing a hotel in that area we always push it to get to the hotel in Evanston.
Be aware if staying multiple nights you do not receive housekeeping. When requested never showed. We ran out of kleenex, shampoo, carried our trash to dumpster. All for $600 on a 4 night stay and rewards members.
Great property layout and helpful staff. Traveled with pets and rooms were still clean and fresh. I was doing a cross-country move and finding quality hotels on the fly can be difficult. All of the Best Western properties were warm and welcoming but this location was the icing on the cake. Great night's sleep!
One of my favorite places to stay every year as I travel in Business. Hotel has all of the amenties, IS very easy to get to off of I-80, the restaurant has excellent food and very friendly service and the rooms are all nice, comfortable and very clean.
Nice place to stay. Restaurant is pretty good. Bar tenderess was very nice also. The rooms can be a little pricey for Evanston but overall it's great Everything in the room was clean except areas of the floor not getting vacuumed. I appreciated the staff getting me checked in early. The restaurant gentleman/waiter is so super nice to everyone and he makes the meal experience fun there! I liked the location of the room I got as well.
We stopped in for a late lunch. Greeted by a nice gentleman who seated us and let us know someone else would be serving us. He was carrying a lunchbox over his shoulder so it was obvious he was about to leave. Girl comes and takes our order. After she brings our food out she disappears and we never see her again. After finishing our meal, we sat for quite awhile with still no one helping us. My husband finally had to get up and get a young man who was waiting on other tables to bring us our check. Of course this guy looks perturbed that he had to do this. He proceeds to tell my husband to pay at the cash register. I tell my husband to go ahead and pay and I would wait at table to get a to go box. After sitting there and realizing no one was going to help me, I finally was able to get this guys attention and ask him for a box. In all fairness, the food wasn't bad, but place is in dire need of customer service training. The fact that our waitress left and no one replaced her is a reflection of this restaurants poor management. We love going to Evanston and would like to give this restaurant another try. Hopefully they pay more attention to their customer service skills.
Heather, Brianna and Andrew at the front desk are amazing! They are incredibly knowledgeable, efficient and extremely personable, absolutely exceeded my expectations for front desk staff. Stew in the restaurant was a joy to encounter, I looked forward to seeing him every time I went to the restaurant. Andrew the security guard has a brilliant energy and he is incredibly personable, he brought such a beautiful sense of security to the Property. I travel regularly and I have never I had such an over-the-top guest service experience at a hotel. Not to mention that this establishment has so much character & history. The rooms are wonderful and the property is beautiful & well kept. Thank you so much Best Western Dunmar inn staff!
The room was very clean, beds were comfy, nice pillows, and the staff was fabulous. The pool and hot tub was nice after spending the day at the racetrack. The on-site restaurant and bar are very convenient. I would definitely recommend We stay here each year, this stay was the best
This hotel needs to be remodeled and its very small inside the rooms. The toilet is so low to the ground that it feels like a child toilet. The food in the restaurant was terrible (Don't order the fish and chips). The staff is nice and friendly. There was 4 of us staying there and we all don't want to use this hotel again.
stayed here last minute. During check in hotel requires your license plate number so have that handy. first time I can recall being asked that request. location is walkable to downtown area with restaurants, microwbrewery and some shopping. I headed down the hill and was there in 15 minutes. room was more than adequately inclusive and clean and confortable.
After staying in the "higher end" hotels in Evanston, we returned to the Dunmar. Best price in town, good complementary breakfast, clean rooms, beautiful grounds and nice outdoor pool. Will return again.
I loved this place for the reason, we didn't have to trek through a hotel at 1 AM. Our room opened right up to outside, and with kids that is huge. After a long day of driving, across Nebraska and Wyoming, it was a nice place to stop and get some ZZZ's.
Everything was great, receptionist was very polite and professional, housekeeping was very considerate. Overall atmosphere was great, inside overall was very clean. The parking lot and grounds were very clean and maintained.
I don't normally post bad reviews or listen to bad reviews but wish I had. We needed a dog friendly place to stay on our way back home and chose this Best Western because of the 2 king beds. The room we were assigned had a very bad smell. We tried another one and it was worse than the first. The rooms definitely have a "pet" and musty basement mix. If we hadn't gotten in late, I would have asked for a refund and left. I have stayed in some smelly motels and this one was by far the worst. Front desk staff must be used to people complaining about the smell because she didn't seem phased by our request to try another room.
Misleading ad. The rooms smell and they are not remodeled as stated. Air conditioner was broken, no fan. We changed rooms once, but it was late when we realized the ac didn't work. Not a hotel, but more of a motel.
Staff was very considerate to our needs and switched us to a room with two kings bed as the sofa bed was not comfortable. The pool and hot tub were just we needed as we had been traveling a lot. We were able to print out a needed document at the Business Center allowing us to save time finding and going to a store like Staples. Breakfast was versatile.
Pet friendly. Great staff! Pet rooms can smell musty, comes with having a pet. They moved us from super smelly room with no problem. Really nice to park outside room door for safety and ease of unpacking. Will stay here anytime we travel through Evanston Wy
The is room was terrible will not stay again! it was may and the heater would not turn off no matter what we tried. so airconditioner and heater ran all night long. Breakfast was suppose to be included and NOTHING. Bed was hard. I can go on and on how bad it was.
Great for the price! Appreciated the front desk clerk going the extra mile when we asked for extra blankets. Different from most Best Westerns in that we had to drive to our room after check-in and the room answered directly to the parking lot.
We were in Wyoming for business while building our cabin/second home. I am very very picky about the quality of the mattress since I've had a hip replacement. This was the MOST comfortable bed I have slept in since I can remember. It reminded me of the expensive mattresses that Marriott used to sell 20 plus years ago. AND the pillows were feather pillows and so comfortable. The room was extremely clean and very spacious. I think the rooms have been redone. Very convenient to be near the restaurant (which is Great - expecially the steaks and prime rib) and also the drinks are superb! Everyone is extremely nice.
I stay at this property on a regular basis as I work in town and need to say over several nights during the month due to weather or work constraints and I am happy to report the rooms are always very clean and comfortable and the desk people are always very helpful.
The room is clean and beautiful the beds are soft. The hotel property is beautiful. The complementary breakfast is delicious the waiters are super nice and the staff goes out of their way to help. We love the bar and the restaurant that's in this hotel!
Surprised that a Best Western is so poorly taken care of and that guests are treated more like and annoyance than a welcome patron. This place is old, and looks and feels like it. Check out all the room and bathroom equipment before accepting the room. Also, you get to walk a lot.
We have stayed here many times over the years and loved the hotel and grounds, so I called and requested a handicap room as I had just broken my leg in Council Bluffs and was heading home to California....spoke with David. The room was certainly not set up for a wheelchair! Not after Little America's roomy room! We were put way in the back of the complex, room 748 maybe? The parking lot had been scraped of snow but there was ice and we were careful. The bathroom was not set up for a wheelchair and grab bars were limited and hard to grab as they were set too low. Please look at the hotel's photos of the bathroom.....so I got wheeled in but could not close the door nor turn around......turning the corners within the room was also tight. As for dinner............I said I'd broken my leg and was in a wheelchair and we wanted to stay as there is an onsite restaurant which would have been perfect except for our location up a hill.....Lovely Dawn from the restaurant understood our situation and kindly brought us our dinner even tho they don't offer room service. Dinner was fine although eating in the restaurant would have kept it hotter! Nevertheless, thanks Dawn. We opted out of the free breakfast as no way for me to get there. Too bad.......room was clean but a little dated but overall still a nice place. Some major thought should go into the definition of a handicapped room though. Because of this situation I gave the hotel only a 3 score.
Very nice & convenient pet-friendly room... clean & easy access to get pet in and out of room. Helpful rep upon check-in, including great suggestions for dinner options. Tasty breakfast with good variety of options.
I highly recommend anyone traveling through Evanston if you are looking for a place to stay this is it, quiet rooms, warm comfortable bed, no road noise from the highway, the staff is very nice and polite, if you go in January bring warm clothes, it was between 17 and -5 in the mornings,
Service was great, check-in was easy and fast. Grounds were good for this time of year. Rooms were ok, needs a little update but large and comfortable. Access was good just of the freeway and easy to get around the town.
I would stay at this hotel just for the breakfast, if you get Kiara as a server, you've gotten execellent service. I really enjoyed my stay and will definetly stay again if in the area. Thank You Brian (the manager) and the Housekeeping. Would suggest offering Washer/Dryer services.
The room smelled horrible had to go to Walmart and get a diffuser to tolerate. They advertise $10 a night and charge $20 which is not legal. The bathrooms super small have to squeeze around the door to get to shower. Breakfast horrible. Cook in large batches and leave out for hours. Tast and texture horrible.
This is the place we always stay at in Evanston. Being a Best Western gives us our rewards, and the place is always clean and comfortable. It has the Legal Tender restaurant right there and offers everything we need in one place.
I really enjoyed the history about the inn. The breakfast buffet and service was great. If I need to stay anywhere on my journey back home it will be at The Best Western Dunmar Inn. The restaurant staff was great. The bed was great as well.
It was ok but I think it's gone a little downhill since I last stayed here. It's comfortable but could use a major upgrade. They should also clean the heat vents. Staff was courteous, friendly and helpful
We stayed overnight on Aug 31 and liked it so much we booked a night 2 weeks later on our return home. Clean room, well maintained landscape, very comfy bed and staff that was pleasant. I would love to know the history of this place as it show 751 single story rooms on property. It is well maintained and, even though an older property, felt fresh and clean. The onsite restaurant is a nice addition. Definitely a two thumbs up for a wonderful stay
This is a vintage motel. I have no problem with parking in front of my room. The bathrooms look original and could use an upgrade. A taller toilet and get rid of the timer lighting. Not sure why the old a/c unit was in the wall near bath area, it seems to have been replaced with a newer system and is an eyesore. The restaurant was very much a throwback. Good food and great service was the highlight of our stay.
What a gem. Great room, great service, great theme. Like home away from home. The restaurant on the property was delicious and super convenient. It's an older property, but SUPER maintained. Clean and cared for.
Considering the age of the property, I was blown away with how well kept it was. The room was clean and updated. I was also very happy to have a place to park a moving truck and tow trailer. We were so pleased that we stayed an additional night.
The picture of the fountain made me curious about this place. The layout is all ground floor rooms. The grounds are meticulously manicured and the building well cared for. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept on since we started. Pillows were fluffy and supported your head, slept well. Stay included breakfast which was a full breakfast buffet, very filling and a good start for a long days drive.
Nice place. Looks like an old style hotel, really open and spread out. It is in excellent conditions, nice rooms. The reception hall has stuffed animals, really well maintained, they add to the feeling of being "in the wild". The restaurant in the hotel has pictures of the FBI Most Wanted on the times of Eliot Ness. Ask the staff about why it is that, good story.
The Best Western rooms are severely outdated in this location compared to others. I believe that the room rate should be lowered or they should work to update the facility to match the pricing and standard of other Best Western locations. Otherwise, the facility was clean and the stay was pleasant. However, we were not offered continental breakfast so I unsure if the staff missed this or if they were not providing this service due to Covid restrictions.
This hotel is huge...believe it must have hundreds of rooms! It does look like it was a hotel from 70-80; but only added to the charm...our room was huge...bed was super comfortable, sofa and chair. We have a Service Dog and am allergic so asked if we could be on a top floor...no problem, front desk gentleman quickly arranged that ( seems like he never goes home..always there). Had dinner and drinks at the on-site resturuant...Belinda was a dream, drinks were excellent; so we decided to have dinner in bad area. Food was wonderful (homemade soup..superb) chef knows her stuff. Breakfast was good...eggs overcooked. Military Discounts given for dinner...this little gem is a shinning beacon! Will come again
This hotel was very spread out and at first we thought we were in a retirement complex- HAHA- then we realized it was the entire hotel. We had 2 KING beds in our room and it was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was small but we just took turns. The internet worked so that was a plus. The beds were big, clean and confy.
A lovely BW, nice comfy rooms, fascinating lobby with a great many stuffed animals, good restaurant and good breakfast. The staff is very helpful and caring. Definitely stay here whenever we are in the area.
The place hasn't been updated since the 70s. The bed was horrible. They tried to put some kind of topper on the bed but neither my wife or I got more than 4 hours of sleep. The breakfast wasn't great either. The eggs were rubbery and the sausage was bad too. The only saving for the breakfast was the strawberries. Will not stay here again.
If you are staying in Evanston the Dunmar Inn is by far the best place to stay. Pool is available, the beds are great and the bar is is a fun time especially at night. The restaurant serves good food, is well priced and you can eat in the lounge or the restaurant which is nice. It is a cozy old school type hotel that has a lot of charm. I have never been on a trip to Evanston with my wife or along with us a group of friends that did not love the stay. It is close to downtown Evanston if you want to bar hop a bit or try another place to eat.
I really enjoy staying at the Dunmar Inn, their restaurant is very good and the service as well. Prices will double during summer on a weekday, but other than that the service is great. Will recommend adding usb chargers to their rooms.
This is a motel not an Inn. It's large and sprawling. You park in front of your room. It doesn't appear they are following all covid protocol because the room was not clean. Hair in the bathtub, dust and dirt on some surfaces. The lights outside shine brightly into the room and make it hard to sleep. Another oddity is my room had two AC systems. One old and one newer, both worked though. The newer unit had a remote that was hidden on top of the unit, I found it by accident. The remote for the TV worked sporadically and was probably in need of new batteries so I gave up on watching TV. The bed had the worst broken down mattress I've tried to sleep on. I had to put pillows under it to try to level it. Cigarette butts everywhere. This motel is way over priced for what it is. The one bright spot is the restaurant. Both dinner and the breakfast buffet the next day were very good.
Lovely hotel with a unique atmosphere. Clean and comfortable room, awesome restaurant and friendly staff. Loved the breakfast buffet and also dinner the evening before. Would definately stay again if in the area!
Let start positive here and say that the restaurant and bar is awesome, great food with great drinks. As far as the front desk check-in experience it was awful, as a Best Western Gold status member I thought this first time experience would be a lot better. The first room we were given was a total horror show, very dark access to this room and it smelt musty/moldy. Went back to the front desk only to find a new employee there who could of cared less and got our room changed to a room that now smelt like old sweaty people. For the money this hotel is getting I thought it would be much better.
I stayed at this motel in March of this year and was very pleased and wrote a five star review. In March we visited this motel with our two little dogs and had a very nice stay. Room rate was reasonable for a Best Western. Room was a pet room and it was large and clean, no smells. Bed were comfortable and room was fully equipped. The lobby was very nice. This is a large motel, one story with exterior doors to all the rooms. Has a free breakfast buffet which is good. Also has a full time restaurant and the food is good. Very good salad bar and the soups are great. Easy to check in and out and close to the interstate. Tried to write another review however, Trip Advisory has a three months waiting period. My wife stayed there again in June and found her room to be clean except there was a bad smell in the room and it was dirty around the commode. Everything else was fine. She stayed again this month and found the room to clean except it had a smell to the room Again everything else was fine. It is still the best motel in Evanston and I would stay there again.
I have stayed at The Dunmar many, many times over the years. I love the old school feel of parking outside your room. The rooms are great and up to date. The restaurant and bar are top notch. Always a great place to stay.
We spent one night at the BW Dunmar Inn on our way to a lodge in Idaho. It's a big property, everything is spread out and there was plenty of room. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has a restaurant and offers free breakfast when you stay. It is also open for dinner. It's not a four star facility but for an overnight stay it was ok.
After a grueling sleepless night camping, we packed up and booked a room here on a whim for some much MUCH needed sleep. The host was so incredibly gracious and let us check in early so we could get some rest, and the room didn't disappoint. Older hotel? Yes. Dirty? Absolutely not. The bed was comfy and the pillows heavenly. Thank you for being an oasis for our weary bodies!
This was our first stay at Dunmar Inn BW in Evanston, WY. Given the great experience, we intend to return. We needed a pet friendly room for two small dogs. The room was accommodated without hesitation. The room was spacious and quiet. We had easy and quick access to the restaurant and lounge. The grounds landscaping was beautiful. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Say Hi to Johnny the bartender in the lounge.
The staff was the absolute nicest. These are the most comfortable beds anywhere. We enjoyed the stay, and always try to time out travel so we can stay there if possible. Older motel, but very well kept.
This is an older property, has been well maintained. It is a 3.5*, better than most in it's class. It was clean, had a noisy wall A/C unit. I would skip the breakfast unless you are in a hurry. I would stay here again if in the area.
Check-in went smoothly. The room was a bit dark, but spacious. The vanity area had enough lighting, though. The bed and pillows were surprisingly comfortable. The breakfast buffet wasn't good, but there is the option of buying breakfast from the restaurant. Overall it was a good stay.
Good hotel. Clean and nice rooms. Clean is the key word. Well maintained and really upholds what you would expect out of a Best Western. Also the restaurant or bar sounded like it was fun going on. Nice
I would not stay here again. The “hotel” is a “motel” sprawling out across multiple areas. There is no obvious “hotel lobby/check in” sign (there is a huge sign for the “restaurant/lounge” but not anything directing you to check in). It is old, dated, and our front door lock didn't work. The security guy came quickly and got us new keys but they didn't work either so we were not able to leave our room (couldn't get back in). The breakfast staff person met us with “you were supposed to be seated first and then come to the buffet” even though there was no obvious sign telling us this was the process. The take out containers were the first thing you saw when entering so we just lined up with other people. Very unfriendly and we opted to put our meal in a takeout box and sit in the lobby to eat on our laps instead. Disappointing experience for what we paid.
Was so glad to see such pet friendly rooms with a convenient area close by with doggie waste bags and disposal can and nice grassy area. With plenty of room to park right by my door. And the restaurant take out option made it nice to eat in the room which made it nice...as my rescue dog gets very nervous when left alone in a strange to him place. (The only issue I had was it's still early in the warm weather and the air conditioning was not yet turned on and, it was a bit to warm in the room)
Absolutely loved our one night stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly in the hotel and restaurant. The room was huge compared to normal rooms. Refrigerator had a freezer which was nice to freeze our ice pack. Will definitely stay again.
The hotel is terrific and highly recommended. The restaurant has gone downhill and I would not recommend it. The hotel staff are always helpful, friendly and professional. The restaurant staff can be surly at times.
The staff is very friendly, always helpful, and quick. It's quite and works! Ohh and it has a fridge it's little but that is possibly one of my favorite features is that it's a functional fridge!! It's not a pop fridge but has a crispier and freezer!!
I was surprise to find that the Best Western Dunmar Inn did not put us in a subpar room because we had a pet with us. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There was ample parking for our oversized vehicle and trailer. Also nice to have an on-site bar and restaraunt.
We drive between Montana and California regularly and Evanston is our new stopping point. This hotel is perfect for working remotely and traveling with our pets. The rooms are large and clean with extra sitting and working areas. The bar and restaurant are a bonus. Parking in front of the room. My husband slept surprisingly well, too.
I was called to Wyoming on a emergency. I arrived at this motel at 2:45AM and when the desk clerk was informed of my emergency, he went out of the way to help me and gave me a special rate on my room. The room was large and the decor was very nice. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bed linens were very clean and smell clean as well as the towels. You can park by your room and the rooms have a exterior door. Breakfast was good. They have a free breakfast, buffet or you can order off the menu. Would stay there again
Had a emergency and arrived at the motel at 2:45Am. The desk clerk went out of his way to help me and gave me a special room rate. Found the room to be very clean and the bed was great. You can park by your room with exterior door to your room. Breakfast was great and was free. There is a buffet or you can order of their menu. I will stay there again, I am in the area.
The hotel is huge!! All single level which was great. You could park right in front of your room. The waitress in the resturant was great. She was very intentive to us and the resturant was busy. We had a steak and it was very good!
Short family trip. Was a great experience and very well managed hotel. Clean and comfortable. To go lunches where perfect for the kids. Really wish we could have stayed longer. Will stay here again!!!
We booked this hotel based on a billboard touting the heavenly 7 layer luxury bed. We passed on the Holiday Inn Express for this place. What a mistake! We arrived around 9:15 pm, Kenn checked us in, very easy and quick. This is a outdoor entry motel, which is a plus to us especially during COVID-19. Upon arrival to our room #566, we attempted to enter several times but the door was stuck. Finally the door opened after a extremely hard push. It needs to be fixed. We noticed lots of hairs in the bathroom sink and a hair (whisker) in our bed. There was also footprints next to the toilet. The room was clearly not cleaned properly. The handle on the sink faucet came off when barely lifted. The toilet paper holder kept falling out and the fan in the bathroom is so loud it sounds like a helicopter landing. The bed is not heavenly, but quite the contrary. It is hard and extremely bouncy! We were looking forward to the complimentary breakfast based on reviews but unfortunately with no sleep and being very sore from the bed, we left at 4:30 A.M. We informed the front desk clerk of our terrible experience. He seemed extremely uninterested, apparently we were bothering him. We were excited to stay initially, but would NEVER stay again at this property. It was a huge waste of money!
In spite of the virus situation I received excellent service and support from all staff. It is a great motel and they treat you like family. The rooms were clean and kept up very well and staff was exceptional at their jobs.
This property is not only appealing to the eye but very comfortable. It's an older property but our experience was great. An issue with a non-working ice machine was resolved immediately. The area provided for walking our dog was perfect.
Comfortable large rooms. Nice hot breakfast. Old style with drive up rooms, which is great in this Covid time. Funky stuffed animals in lobby lets you know you are in Wyoming. A bit of a trip back in time.
We recently stayed at the Best Western Dunmar Inn while traveling through Wyoming. One of our reasons for selecting the property was the website's description of cleanliness and COVID precautions. Unfortunately, our room did not live up to Best Western standards, nor did it come close to the level of cleanliness that we expected based on the website's claims. Specifically, the bathroom and floors were not clean. In addition, although we tried on multiple occasions, the hot water in our shower would only get to a lukewarm temperature. Finally, the AC/heating unit in the wall turned on but would not adjust the air temperature. The staff members we dealt with were friendly and helpful, but they couldn't make up for a lack of cleanliness and a run-down room. We tried to rectify this with the corporate office, and basically they offered us free water on our next Best Western stay, and some points that won't even get us one-third of a night's stay at another BW property.
We are driving across country with our dog. We called to inquire late last night about room availability, and Andrew answered the phone. He was super friendly, not too pushy and very welcoming. So we decided to stop and stay. Boy, we're glad we did. It was a perfect fit for us. All of the rooms are ground level, and we were able to park right in front of our room. There was plenty of grassy areas for us to walk the dog too. Plus, we were able to eat breakfast there this morning (or take a hot breakfast to go). So much better than other hotels these days that are offering a muffin and a yogurt in a sack. The only negative I read in other reviews was about the rooms needing to be updated. I think our room may have been more recently renovated, but it's still kind of an older style. However, I would not let that stop you. We had a great stay and it was a super convenient stop off of I-80.
The Dunmar Inn is a very large hotel and located close to the freeway which is great. However, the rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade and more modern amenities. There is no USB. The Devore is decades old and although clean, it is dark and heavy. The bathroom was very small and the air conditioning was extremely loud.
"Newly renovated, extra large rooms." was listed so we thought...great. But we walked into a room from the 40's. The bathroom door was falling off. The thermostat on the wall didn't work. Tried the "air conditioner" in the bathroom...didn't work well. We were glad we brought our own disinfectants to clean the room. The desk clerk said....sorry. That's it. Obviously, we didn't get the renovated room they're talking about. I did like the waterfall outside....that's it.
One night stay. Room and grounds were very clean And welcoming. Front desk friendly. Nice clean lobby. There is an attached restaurant and lounge that looked nice but We didn't go in til next morning for breakfast. Easy on-off interstate. Room was quite large and Immaculate. There was a GREAT hot breakfast (Complimentary) in the restaurant. Very nice Staff serving our food. And it was delicious, Also room rate was extremely reasonable! Recommend this hotel. Thanks for a great stay.
This was a stop along the highway for a long drive we were doing. The place has some history which is nice. A bit run down, but clean and quite comfortable. Nice that there was a microwave and fridge and breakfast in the restaurant (although they were seriously understaffed for breakfast, and it was a bit of a fiasco--also frustrating to the staff). Ate at Legal Tender, the restaurant-which was so-so (we checked another place and the covid precautions were abysmal).
What a great find after spending the day traveling thru WY on our way to Utah, decided to stop for a needed rest. This place is amazing. Room was spacious, drive up to rooms. Extremely clean ipo buffet breakfast restaurant serves complimentary. Pet area.
Loved the rooms and the whole decor of the hotel. Great bar and restaurant. Stayed here on the night of our anniversary and truly enjoyed our stay. Great breakfast for guest in the morning. Loved this place. Rooms were very clean!!
Remodeled 1950's ala Route 66 Style. How nice to drive right up to your room, Signs and BW site said "Award Winning Pillows". They were nice :) No TV guide made it a tad difficult to figure out what was on the telly. Stellar water pressure in the shower stellar. Not too much social distancing in their Tiki Bar and restaurant however. In another time and place we might have checked it out. We decided to opt for take out.
The staff were friendly but the girl that checked me in assigned me a room in the very back corner of the property. I actually had to drive out and go around the block to get to my room because I couldn't walk that far. There were not many guest here at all so I don't know why they would do this. The room was hot, AC never got cold enough. Beds were OK, pillows a little too small and thin. The best thing about this place was it has an excellent restaurant and free hot breakfast. After eating in the restaurant David actually gave me a ride in his car to my room. That's how far away it was. Rooms are exterior entrance with parking at your door.
My girlfriend will write a more comprehensive review soon. I stayed in the car while my girlfriend checked in and I watched as she waited outside the lobby while the front desk checked in an unmasked guest. When she went in I spotted at least three employees in the LOBBY with no masks. One was carrying freshly folded guest towels. The security guard walked through the lobby twice with no mask even around his neck. I got him on video with no mask walking out, and that will be posted to Twitter once Best Western responds on there. When my girlfriend asked, the front desk lady said it was a "hectic time" and then told her coworkers to put on their masks. I didn't realize when things get busy that the employees took off their masks. That's ridiculous. Saw the security guard a few times in the parking lot walking into buildings with no mask. They're getting away with a lot. Yes, we called ahead and asked very thorough questions about their covid procedures. Look at other reviews, the manager apparently told one guest it was unamerican to make employees wear masks. I would have gotten the lobby on video but didn't want to risk losing our room. We are spending a good amount of time reporting this place to everyone we can with our video as well as both of our experiences. We will talk to everywhere we can separately. Putting people's health at risk isn't funny, and this location clearly doesn't care and has a dangerous staff.
We just returned from a road trip and had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Dunmar Inn twice during the past week. Both visits were absolutely great! First of all, I do not agree with a recent previous review that this hotel is not complying with COVID policies and restrictions. The Best Western policy on their website states that face coverings are required in all indoor public areas (nothing was said about "no mask no service") During both of our visits this was being followed completely! Every employee at this hotel was wearing a mask as well as all of the employees in the restaurant. During both of our visits I never saw more than a couple guests at the front desk at one time, but every person we saw was wearing a mask when inside the building except when eating in the restaurant which is within policy guidelines. The room was wonderfully maintained and spotlessly clean. So, with that being said I will complete my review. This is not a new hotel by any means and that is what we loved about it. All rooms are on one level and there are many buildings throughout the property. There is a lovely waterfall when you come in and many grass areas which are all maintained beautifully. Our room was very large with a king bed, sofa and sitting chair, coffee table, desk, microwave and refrigerator. The room was exceptionally clean, nicely furnished, and the bed was very comfortable. There is a restaurant onsite which is great ... our food both times was excellent. Even during these times this hotel does provide a free breakfast which we really appreciated as many hotels have found a way to save money by not doing it. The first visit we were given a menu to pick the items we wanted and it was served to us. The second visit it was similar to a buffet but you told the employee what you wanted and he served it (while wearing gloves and a mask). The breakfast was very good. The customer service is super....the front desk employees are all absolutely wonderful. We really enjoyed both of our stays at this hotel and I would highly recommend the Best Western Dunmar Inn when visiting the Evanston area..
If you want to get sick and stay in a disgusting room - this is the place for you. Before traveling with a child to an older relatives house, we checked Best Western's corporate policy regarding masks and covid procedures. It's mandated - no mask, no service. We even called ahead to confirm with this specific location. When we arrived there were 15 or more guests in the lobby and at least 3 employees not wearing masks. When we confronted the front desk manager about this, he shrugged his shoulders and said he couldn't enforce that rule. When we spoke with the owner, Wes, he actually said it was "un-american" to enforce that rule. They are knowingly and intentionally disregarding corporate policy and should lose their franchise license. All of this is in addition to the rooms being extremely dirty and poorly maintained.
If you like a Hotel that is dirty and poorly maintained with loud drunken neighbors talking loudly outside your room all night. Then this is the perfect hotel for you. But if you are looking for a nice family friendly place. I recommend skipping this one. Light bulbs burned out, a hole punched in the bathroom door. Cigarette butts everywhere.
This is a great Hotel with an excellent restaurant and lounge attached. The rooms are in separate buildings on the property but don't let that discourage you. The room are spacious and quiet. The restaurant menu has a large selection and the food is excellent. I have stayed in 12 hotels this summer and I really enjoyed this one.
We stayed here for 2 nights total while on a quick trip. I had read reviews that the place was older but very nice. The price was reasonable and they were pet friendly. We arrived at nearly 3am and were worried because the place looked older in the dark and there was some police activity in the area. We thought, "great, this is going to be a terrible stay." It was not at all! The rooms had new renovations. King beds were very comfy. Rooms had frig and microwaves. Large cable package, pool, lawn areas for relaxing, restaurant, pool tables, fitness area, and staff was very pleasant. We would stay here again without doubt. We are very particular and we were pleasantly surprised! GREAT place to stay!
Stopped here on my way from Colorado Springs to Seattle during the pandemic. Very nice, clean room with staff respecting social distancing and wearing masks. Ample parking and was able to park my fully loaded car right in front of the room. Separate air conditioning units, which is a plus during the pandemic. Ordered take out from the restaurant, which was a nice treat, as we were mostly eating our own food from a cooler in the car. My son especially commented that the beef in the burger was exceptional. Easy to find off of I-80. Friendly staff (which I had minimal contact with and they all wore face masks). Located in a residential area, so nice for an evening stroll after a long drive.
Front desk tried hard. People are friendly. Otherwise I would have rated this 1 star. Problems? Clogged toilet, beeping fire alarm at night, crying cats outside (mating season?), and cigarette butts and empty beer cans on the property ground. Cleaning crew may have worked hard, but they should NOT have half blocked the entrance to our room for an hour. Called front desk twice for the clogged toilet. But maintenance never showed up over a 30 min period. Took another 25mins to change room. Not pleased......
I recently stayed here while visiting family. The front desk staff was exceptional as was the restaurant staff. The pet room was clean and beautiful and didn't smell like a pet room. I will be staying here from now on. Thank you!
We were on our way to oaklahoma and stayed one night here. It was an older best western but extremely well kept. The restaurant and lounge was very nice. Great friendly service, prices are reasonable. The lobby was awesome old western look the man at the front desk was very efficient ,friendly. I loved the way he was dressed. All western looked very classy. The room was spottless, just everything was perfect.
We stopped here just before dark, at the end of a 7 hour driving day. Checkin was easy and the desk clerk very friendly. Our room was”deluxe”, with a very comfortable King bed and separate sitting area. Loved the spread out hotel layout. A small but adequate gym, restaurant onsite with non gourmet but adequate dinner choices, and a fabulous breakfast buffet all added up to a superb stay at a very decent price.
Making my way from Seattle to Dallas in January, dicey I know and of course I-80 was closed. A quick look on TripAdvisor and I found this little gem. I'm not normally a Best Western customer, but in a pinch and with TripAdvisor's help made the choice. It has that Southwest, rugged charm with the lobby full of taxidermy animals and the decor that invokes the ranch style. Check in was fast and the clerk provided details on tracking the hi-ways opening and advisories! The room to my surprise was huge and warm! it was tastefully rustic ranch style and the beds were very comfortable. I was in a 16FT box truck and the parking lot was plowed with plenty of parking. If I found myself in the area again, I'd stay here again based on my winter experience.
I was very impressed with the value of this motel The room was clean with a sofa and writing desk there were a couple of chips on the edges of the desk but no big deal . The sofa was nice and in good shape The room had been recently painted and the bed was very comfortable The shower had an adjustable head The breakfast was the best I hav8ever seen in a motel in this price range. When we entered a waitress stated us and brought our coffee and juice. The buffet the had everything other motels have but also fresh eggs, bacon, link sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy along with watermelon and fresh strawberries (this is January). No complaints from me at all.
I have stayed at Dunmar Inn a number of times. Each time it has been clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet (included) has a good variety of hot food, fruit, yogurt, etc. The front desk worked with me when I needed to make changes to my reservation.
Easy check in nice cozy room parking in front of room right outside the door. Comfy bed. Great buffet style breakfast. Outdoor pool. Thanks bar lounge has an above average excelent stake dinner at the League Tender Lounge.
After experiencing a 4 car pile up on I80 and the road being closed the Best Western Dunmar was the perfect hideout to spend the night - great room and fantastic restaurant for breakfast and a sensible pet policy
Happy to get the room. Exceeded our expectations! Great value! Had we needed to stay extra nights to ride out the winter storms we would have felt fortunate to have such a comfortable and nice place to stay. would definitely stay again!
This one is worth a trip all on its own as a getaway. The rooms are huge and it's all single level. Gorgeous white brick. Animals adorn the lobby and the hotel has deep roots in history. We will go back!
My family and friends stay at this Best Western every time we come thru Wyoming, Always get great nights sleep and the restaurant Legal Tender is a pleasant surprise, The restaurant has a finer dining atmosphere and great food selection compared to most motels. The salad bar is also awesome. In the morning they have a better than most breakfast buffet that comes with your stay and are seated in the restaurant not just a boxed in room. i would suggest this to anyone traveling through Evanston to stop at this relaxing gem of motel.
I needed a last minute, pet friendly room and there were plenty available. The room was very big, clean and did not have any pet smells. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom spotless. The desk staff was super friendly! Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
There is nothing I don't like here! Decor of hotel and grounds is super cool. Bed was comfy. Quiet!! Great lobby decor. Kind, competent, professional staff from desk to housekeeping. Also like the amenities, they just make me smell so groovy, lol. Love you all!!
Our stay at the BW was an enjoyable experience. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the entire visit was pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in this direction. The staff were courteous and very helpful. Even though it is an older hotel someone has taken the time to make this a top rate hotel.
I was travelling and did not make a reservation but was taken care of immediately with no hassle. The room was very nice the bed was comfortable which is a big issue with me. I had an excellent steak at the restaurant. I slept well and the next morning they had an excellent breakfast prepared. I had the scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browned potatoes, and real, thick bacon! There was several other good items also but I didn't try them. Overall it was an excellent stay.
When you stay here, make darn sure they ask you your name at check in. They had checked in strangers to our room that was secured by our credit card. Bad whoops! Gave us a key, strangers were already in our room. Whoops again. Make sure your credit card is secured and they ask you who you are.
This was my second stay at Dunmar. I had a small dog. The room I was assigned was huge and did not smell of Lysol or wet dog--it smelled clean. Bathroom was small as it is an older facility. However, it has been updated nicely. I especially liked that the refrigerator had a freezer compartment to freeze my Blue Ice. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best ones I've had--besides the usual eggs, hash browns, sausage and bacon, there were 3 different melons--watermelon, cantaloupe and honey dew, ripe and tasty. Plus, they gave me a "go-box" so I could take it to my room so my dog wasn't alone. It is close to I-80 for easy access. Price was very reasonable. I will stay here again when my traveling brings me back to the area.
The Dunmar Inn is a gem in the city of Evanston, WY. The hotel has a classic style and feel. The rooms are very nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. The bar and restaurant are top shelf too. The food is always hot and well prepared. Drinks at the bar are well made and reasonably priced. The staff is always personable, kind and attentive. We love the Dunmar and plan our journeys to include a stay whenever possible.
Large clean rooms. Liked being able to drive up and park right in front of the room. Did have to walk or drive back to lobby/restaurant area but not a problem. Great breakfast buffet! Would stay here again.
The pictures can be deceiving. It's an old motor court with a nice lobby. The climate controls dont work well, it smells old and musty, and it's noisy with all the road crews they cater to. The restaurant has services problems and the prices aren't worth what you pay. I'll stay at the Holiday Inn Express next time I pass through Evanston.
Hotel staff is very friendly and rooms are clean and comfortable. Locatation is quiet with easy access to Hwy 80. Room rate was reasonable as we booked online prior to arrival. Would recommend the Dunmar Inn to travel weary travelers.
Spacious rooms that are clean and kept up well. The lounge is a lovely place to have dinner, grab a drink and watch a game. Parking is a little tight if you have a big truck, but still doable. Service was excellent in the hotel and the lounge.
We stayed here overnight on our way to the Grand Teton National Park. It is located right off the freeway about a mile and very easy to find. They have several buildings, all 1 story, where you can park right in front of your room. They have a restaurant and lounge right on site, Legal Tender, which is very good and after a lonv day of driving was a pleasant surprise. The food is excellent with reasonable pricing. The rooms are large, with several seating options (rare for most hotels), and sort of like a suite where there is a drape to pull to separate the seating area from the bed. Speaking of the bed, it was very comfortable. The room also has a large refrigerator. It would be easy to stay several days here and be comfortable.
Our room smelled like someone popped a squat and pooped in there. We had to go to the local dollar store to buy air fresheners. I found hair in the beds. It wasn't worth the money, sorry but not for this gal. Don't waste your money, go else where.
Beautiful layout in Evanston. Room was great and the breakfast buffet was full service. One of our best experiences yet. The room was large. We needed heat in the room and the heater worked quietly. The servers at the breakfast were very customer friendly.
One of the best BW hotels in the western states! We were in an upper level of the grounds, bottom floor parking right in front of the door. The staff was one of the best, I loved the lobby, there was a restaurant, bar. The dinner was well prepared, breakfast was the usual fair. Everything was clean, the bed dreamy, will stay here again.
Kind of real average in the time of corporate hotels. It has some good points though. Although the motel is a little older, it has obviously been kept up physically and necessary updates done. Everything is spread out and on one story, so you don't have people stomping around in the middle of the night overhead, which is a big plus for a light sleeper, it was very quiet. The wi-fi was above average, the TV was way below average. There were channels on the list that weren't available, and hard to tune. Shower was weak, but what motel's isn't these days, but the handle unhooked from the valve in my hand, glad I had the temp adjusted. Restaurant was also quite average. Nothing about this motel stands out though. Breakfast buffet was also meh, or below average. No one even acknowledged me until I was almost done so I got no coffee or juice. Other service was OK, but not interacted with beyond check-in, and credit card processing. I'm becoming quite tolerant in my old age, or just used to it.
This place is like a old fashioned motor inn with single story rooms where you park in front of the room. Breakfast was great., A buffet with prompt service from the staff. My only complaint was the bathroom was extremely small and the weird shower head was so high I couldn't reach it to change as it was pointed toward the curtain and got water on the floor. Had to have my husband move it for me. But we should stay here again.
Don't go in looking for amazingness. The place is solid. Clean, comfortable, and convenient. It is an older property, but there is a decent fitness area, breakfast was good too. This place is an innings-eater.
My husband and I arrived hungry and tired at the Best Western in Evanston, WY. The restaurant was relaxing, the seating comfortable and the food very good. The wait staff could not have been better. Our room was very clean and the water pressure in the shower was wonderful!!! Our bed was extremely comfortable with soft linens. We slept very well that night!!! And we'll make a point of staying here again.
Usually Best Western takes, as a subtitle, the local town name. Dunmar Inn for Evanston, WY threw me off till I visited local Unita County Museum (not far from hotel and down another street) and realized this inn long predates Best Western. Museum receptionist, age 72, said Dunmar Hotel (the former establishment) was older than her --- but that was all she knew. Hotel located right off the highway, across street from a thrift shop which is next door to a Super 8. Modest neighborhood overall. It consists of a sprawling property with one-story buildings strewn like sausages -- or barracks -- across a black-top surface occasionally interrupted by speed bumps but also with some areas pockmarked by time......The fitness center has two restrooms in it, plus a (apparently) sauna that I would not dare use --- looks like you are locking yourself in a nearly windowless closet !! But treadmills worked well. Since building old, rooms can be said to be nicely updated. Nothing fancy, but appropriate for modern expectations. Hotel breakfast was in their restaurant and food served buffet style. Was told waitresses would come and ask if I wanted coffee....but ended up with my having to hunt a waitress down. Food good and well presented. Hotel staff professional and friendly. Nice stay overall.
Traveling across Wyoming and after a day of dealing with wind and rain I knew Evanston was the goal for the night.. having stayed here back in '05 I knew I would stay here again. their rooms are broken up into different blocks of single story rooms, like a big motor court.. plus there is a bar and restaurant on site.. the room was huge! wifi was great.. my biggest complaint is the bathroom. Seriously. it was small, and the toilet.. was from the 70's it was on of the smallest toilets I have seen in a while.. the breakfast was decent, other than the tiny bathrooom area complaint, the stay was very nice
This is a great place to stay. It is staffed by friendly, helpful employees. The grounds were beautiful and the room was very clean and modern. The restaurant served great food and the lounge was a great atmosphere and other customers appeared to really be enjoying themselves. Prices for the room and food service were very reasonable. If you choose to stay in Evanston, treat yourself to a great place to stay.
We've always been comfortable staying here. This is our go to place in Evanston. The rooms are big and clean with good lighting, but inside and from the windows. The yards of the property are very well maintained. The only drawback is that the shower heads are at a height that you'd have to be a NBA basketball player for them to hit you properly. They need to lower the shower heads to a reasonable level. The free breakfast that comes with the room is always very good, and is buffet style.
The rooms are located a long way from the lobby and we stayed in 552 down the hill from the lobby and restaurant. we had to take the car to the restaurant. the side walk leading to our room does not have a ramp. there is a big sign for the restaurant but no best western sign at the entrance so we drove by twice before figuring out where to enter. Our room needed a new heating and airconditioning system.
The hotel itself is old and out of date, but it's charming and unique. After a long day it was also nice to park directly in front of my room to unload gear. My issue with this hotel was that my room smelled like human feces. It was awful. There was also hair in the freshly laundered sheets and throughout the bathroom area. The AC/heating units are also extremely old and not properly grounded with a three-prong plug. I wish this place had fresher rooms, because the layout and design is reminiscent of old hotels you saw on Route 66. Don't think I would stay here again based on the cleanliness of the rooms, which is a shame because I think it's an otherwise nice place. Just couldn't get past the poop smell and dirtiness of the room. Normally I like when the ventilation has some noise because it's like a white noise machine and drowns out neighbors/other loud noises, but this window unit that was mint 70's sounded like a freight train barreling through your room. It was incredibly loud and annoying. I wouldn't stay here again.
Wow! This place was amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. The employees were so helpful and nice. The rooms were super cleaned, comfortable beds, really beautiful scenery. I wish I could find more places like this to stay during my travels. Definitely will be staying at BW moving forward.
We stayed at the Dunmar Best Western for three nights. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are roomy and immaculate. There's lots of parking even for those of us who tow a trailer. Since there was a restaurant on the property we were able to park our vehicle when we returned from our day trips and walk to dinner. Even though the Dunmar Inn is part of the Best Western chain, it doesn't seem like the typical chain hotel. It's unique.
Very nice hotel, rooms very clean bathrooms could use new toilets! Resaurant was good but needs an upgrade! A little expensive for the class of the restaurant! Food and service was more of the coffee shop style! Did not use to be that way!
Restaurant on site was absolutely delicious both dinner and breakfast buffet. Staff were friendly, professional and caring! Rooms were clean and fresh ( no stale air ). Parking abundant even for boats and campers. Front desk staff were professional and courteous!
Don't kid yourself, this is an old motel! We opened the door to our room and the musty old smell was almost more than we could bear. We had to leave our door open (several times), to try to air it out. Later we realized it was coming from the air conditioner. Which brings me to the air conditioner... it was sooooooo loud, that neither my husband or I could sleep all night! It was ridiculous! The remodel upgrades were nice (granite countertop in bathroom area), but the bathtub & toilet were so small!!! The toilet paper holders were coming out of the wall & bathroom door off its hinges. My husband didn't take a shower because the tub/shower was so small. The breakfast was average at best. We had to wait to be seated, and waited in line for over 20 minutes before the overworked staff got to us (10 minutes later), with drinks/coffee. You get what you pay for, I guess!
We received an upgraded room which was very nice. Shower head needs replacing and the toilet is very low for a male user. Decor of the room was good and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast???? It was the worst one in many years of traveling. Very poor selection, scrambled eggs were watery and burned on the bottom, "hot" water for tea was tap water lukewarm. All of this in the attached restaurant means no excuse for such poor selection and food quality. Would not stay again.
The best place in Evanston we stay there every time we stop in town. Have tried a couple of others but prefer to stay at the Dunmar. They have added the breakfast bar which is very good. The convenience of parking in front of your door is excellent.
Snuggled into Evanston, Wyoming is a beautifully attended Best Western motel! It's quiet, well maintained, and clean with friendly staff. The restaurant has a tasty menu with a buffet breakfast that is hot and fills you up! Dog-friendly. Conveniently located just off Hwy 80.
My husband and I are moving across the states and we had been driving for quite awhile already when we arrived. The process was quick and easy and the staff was friendly. Hotel was very pet friendly too!
This hotel is one of the best in the Best Western chain. The rooms are large, the beds are comfortable, and I always get a good night's sleep. Check in and out is fast. The personnel are friendly, fast, and efficient. The hotel has an onsite steakhouse called Legal Tender. I ordered a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich for dinner and it was the best I have had. In the morning, a complimentary buffet breakfast is served in the restaurant. It was excellent, too. Whenever I pass through Evanston, I try to stay here because the experience is always enjoyable. The location is far enough off the Interstate Highway that one cannot hear it. The railroad is nottoonear, either.
The main air conditioning was ineffective and substandard. They had a wall unit mounted in the sink area that was really noisy and couldn't be used when sleeping. I surely expected more from Best Western.
Older hotel that is spread out over a large area. easy off the interstate with a restaurant and bar. the rooms are okay good for one night stop. They are renovating the rooms ,so lots construction equipment and materials everywhere. The surrounding area is run down with an large adult video store about two blocks up the street and only fast food places to eat. I would not recommend staying here
Traveling with my 8 yr old grandson, this was the perfect place. Pulled right up to the door which makes easy unloading. Great service checking in and out. Awesome breakfast! Felt very safe. Will definitely stay there again!
This is such a nice BW. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, the staff is very friendly and helpful and they have a yummy breakfast buffet. I needed help with a BW gift certificate and Brittany at the front desk could not have been nicer and more helpful. Which is why I always try to stay at a BW when on the road and when in Evanston, we always stay here.
My mother stayed here, many years ago! The place has a wonderful appeal. It is warm and inviting, and they welcome pets for a small fee!!! Since my travels take me through Evanston several times per year, the Dunmar Inn is our go to place for a good nights rest and a yummy breakfast!!!
This is an old property with issues. We had to change rooms 3 times to get a room with working AC. First room AC did not work at all. Second room one unit was on AC and one was on heat. Oh, and did I mention there are 3 AC/heating units in each room - you try to figure this one out. Third room the management finally explained that we need to use the one in the bathroom area. It worked, but barely cooled the room. And the TV remote did not work. The only redeeming factor was the restaurant and the upscale breakfast. Also, the pool was right in front of the motel - very difficult to walk to from any room.
Hotels.com helped us find this place as we were tired from driving and needed a place to find quickly. SUCH a treasure - right off I-80 and easy to find. Best Westerns are my favorite, and this one is probably on the top of the list. Check in was quick and very friendly. Be sure if you check in after dark, you follow the map - there are a lot of rooms and it's a spread out place. We were able to park right in front of our room. Very large and our room was just perfect. Great night sleep, quiet, comfort, fluffy pillows. Fridge, micro, tub, and honestly I can't think of anything not terrific. The front desk staff were ALL incredibly helpful and made me feel like they were happy to have me there. that was for both check in and check out. Location is great, rooms are large and roomy and clean and very luxurious feeling. And then there's breakfast - WOW!! We were seated by a hostess, and it was a smorgasbord buffet of fruit, meat, eggs, potatoes, etc etc and the waitress brought us our drinks and was very attentive. Unbelievable that this was a hotel free breakfast! Décor was fun - all gangsters. Lobby nicely decorated and beautiful waterfall outside. TOTALLY PET FRIENDLY!! And I have no doubt family friendly as we saw several kids having breakfast the next morning. Plenty of parking - great area to walk dogs - lots of rooms. BW has a very nice rewards program too. Where you have breakfast is also a restaurant, and the food is really good. Also have a drink in the cool bar - it's like a tiki lounge.
This is one of the best hotels, in the Evanston area. With that being said, it's still very outdated hotel. Pros: pet friendly, amazing breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, breads, muffins, lots of fruit and even non dairy milk!!), outdoor pool, drive your car right up to your room entrance, the rooms are all ground level so there is no noise above you, pricey for what you get compared to other hotels, located close to everything, good variety of tv Chanel's (our kids watched Disney Junior and Family). Cons: slow internet speed, outdoor pool (if there is bad weather), the rooms are very outdated, the restaurant smells like smoke, if you want to walk your dog the surrounding area is a little scary.
Worst matrress ever experienced in a motel. Polyester sheets and skimpy bedcover for the blanket. The only value staying at this motel was the "real" breakfast vs. a continental roll & coffee breakfast! The staff were friendly and helpful. But, their rooms should be $46 with tax- not $100 with tax- per night!! We will not be staying at this Best Western motel in future travel.
Supplies for rooms all over the parking area , could not get close to the room to unload bags , contractors vehicles parked in guest spots. Tools blocked access to ice machine area in the ice machine room ( Only to find ice machine unplugged and workers tools being charged in the outlet. Also contractors fan running on the floor to dry it up ( I guess when the ice machine was unplugged it defrosted all over the floor Oh ya tv had more snow on it then the rocky mountains (Useless) . A/C unit half unassembled parts and dirty filter laying on the floor in the bath area . And lastly no tissues in the room. That said , We have stayed at many BEST WESTERNS in the past and never have I seen anything like this . So we will still be using Best Western as our go to rest spot when traveling . Just a thought for Dunmar B.W. Wyoming Don't put guests in rooms in an area that you are remodeling . Not to mention the liability you are putting yourselves in if a guest were to be injured tripping over the pallets full of supplies trying to get to their room . The most positive thing of our stay was the young lady at the front desk when we checked out , She was genuinely concerned and very helpful after hearing the problems we had , so at least we started the next leg of our trip on a good note.
My wife fell off the steps of a 27' Penske rental truck with car trailer. She fell on her back and head - end result was a mild concussion and contusion. In the process the manager Sherry Black went beyond the call of duty and took us to the nearby hospital to be checked out and stayed the duration (~2 hours) and brought us back. Kudos to her and staff
Was very unhappy with the hole experience. The hotel is vary dated. When we tried to shower the next morning found that there were no bath towels and the water pressure was bad as well. The only good thing about this stay was the breakfast.
A stop on a car trip east. Like most BW, rooms are just off the parking lot - easy access. The layout is more than a bit of a maze & it takes some work to find your room, or the lobby. Really poor signage out front - had to hunt for it since the big overhead sign really was not at the drive (and no other BW signs to give a clue). Room is nice - fairly large w/big bed. AC is pretty slow to cool. Rooms are well off the street. Moderate price. I'd use it again. (Very nice restaurant attached)
This is advertised as "Upscale" but it is very shabby and in our room alone the TV did not work, the air conditioning did not at all cool the room on a day when it reached 103 and there was NO hot water in the shower, though there was warm water at the sink. The bathroom was dirty. Though the décor had been updated, the beds were uncomfortable. The attached restaurant was reported to be good but we did not think anything was good but the onion rings and tartar sauce at dinner and the bacon at breakfast. The eggs were crumbles and tasteless and all the food was cold. When we reported the condition of the room they took a mere $16 off the more than $100 bill. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. There are other places not far away.
Week long business trip brought me to Evanston and the Dunmar Inn. Great place to stay with very comfortable rooms, wonderful restaurant and lounge. Highly recommend this hotel if you find yourself in need of a place to stay in town.
Rooms were large with King beds. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the best continental we've ever had. We decided we'll stay here again when we pass through this area. The overall property was older but this did not diminish the overall experience for us. We'll stay here again.
Stayed one night; 28 June. The good... big room, and clean. Nice restaurant and lounge area. Relaxing. The bad... I stayed in the largest room on the property and it hasn't been updated in decades. The kitchen... there was a roll away fridge in it. The jets on the bathtub didn't work. The control unit for the jets on the wall was removed, I think... just leaving a hole on the wall. Breakfast was, supposedly, included with the room, but on checkout I was informed it wasn't going to be served that day. Reason. A water line broke in the restaurant. The notice to the guests that breakfast was out for the day.,.. a computer printout in the lobby. Perhaps a better way to handle that situation is to be proactive and call the guests that morning to tell them breakfast can not be served that day because a water line is out. Another touch of customer service would be to knock off some the room price due to no breakfast, without being prompted by the guest to do that. Above and beyond. One more notice not related to the hotel. Painted Lady restaurant and JB's restaurant (which are shown on Google to be open) are, in fact, closed.
My only issue was that the housekeeping staff did not put any bath towels in my room and I failed to notice this until After my shower. I told the fron desk at check out and they offered to deduct some from my bill.
been staying here for years never any complaints. was only there one night for the Bluegrass Festival. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is good. ate three times in the tender lounge and no complaints. Beds are comfy and staff is friendly. nicely located to the festival.
The bed were very comfortable and the rooms were clean. The hotel room was very quiet. The breakfast had a nice selection the items kept full. Coffee and juices were brought to our table by servers. It was a bet nice and relaxing stay.
Due to remodeling of some rooms, had to drive about 2 blocks to get to our room from the front office. The King room did not look like the picture that was on the Best Western site when I booked it. Start of a big disappointment. After unpacking, we discovered our a/c unit was not working properly. Around 5:20 pm, I walked back down to the office and told the girl at the front desk about the a/c problem. She said that her security/maintenance person started his shift at 6:00 pm and she would send him down to look at it. Called the front desk at 6:20 pm still waiting for someone to show up. Finally, he showed up around 6:30 pm and said the a/c would not work. He contacted the front desk and moved us to a double queen next door. We had to re pack our belongings and move again. He was nice enough to exchange our old room key for the new one. After settling in, the TV had a bad reception, kept breaking up. Had about a 2 block walk to the fitness, the breakfast area, and the front office. When checking out the next morning, the front desk asked how everything was beside the a/c problem. Told her I was disappointed in the room and she never attempted to give us a few dollars back for the problems. Sorry, but we will never stay here again.
Best dog friendly hotel around. The restaurant staff was excellent. They went out of there way to make our night. I loved this place. Wonderful helpful people at the desk. I wish all the places we have stayed were half as friendly!
Looked at all the reviews and it was the highest rated hotel in Evanston. I would hate to see the lowest. This property is about 40 years past it's prime, and the facelift that's coming couldn't happen soon enough. The people at desk are great, that being said, this is like a Milgeam study. You think you're being punked...note the wall unit..
This is an older property. It's well maintained, though, and the rooms (our room, at least) was spacious. Full buffet breakfast in the breakfast room, with table service for drinks and coffee. My only complaint was that the bed was too soft: my back would have appreciated something firmer. Pet (and by "pet", I mean, "kitty") friendly.
Wow what a disappointing Best Western. The entrance and lobby is gorgeous however the rooms are way outdated. Window wouldn't latch, could see air through the door, adjoining room door was unlocked, the bathroom floor is a small step up and is waiting for a disaster. The breakfast and dinner was great however the restaurant is also out of date and very dark.
It looks like the inside was remodeled as cheaply as possible. We could never get the front desk to answer our phone calls. The a/c didn't work and the room was over 80 degrees inside. It felt like the heat was still on and couldn't be turned off. We would never stay here again.
The Best Western Dunmar Inn has an extensive motel style layout. Its facilities (as it turns out slightly over promised) are built up by repeated adverts along the I80 travelling West. Rooms good, all ground floor, with very convenient parking right outside. Some facilities look a little old, and some are dated although quite satisfactory and comfortable. Restaurant served good steak and asparagus. Downfall was lack of Wi-fi. Apology offered at front desk, it said this night only, but this is a key facility which hotels must keep working fully. Good value room at $90 B&B achieved as a last minute booking.
We travel through and stop in Evanston four times a year. In the past we stayed at one of the other motels in the area, but the last couple of times it did not meet our satisfaction. After staying at the Best Western we will definitely plan on staying again the next time we are through.
This place is a good spot for pet owners. The grounds are well kept, and the pet area nice and big. Rooms are comfortable. Sound proofing between rooms could be better. The only in room need is changes in the bathroom. The toilets need to be more powerful in flushing and the shower heads lower. A short person can't reach the shower head to adjust it. Overall though very comfortable and good staff.
The Best Western in Evanston has an older layout, with outdoor entrances at ground level. It included a buffet breakfast. We usually prefer indoor entrances, but it was clean, quiet and pleasant. Not sure how it would be if it was super busy. We got a great rate because it was a last minute reservation.
From checkin to checkout the Dunm Inn is exceptional! I've never had more friendly and accommodating service. Beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. Love the food at the restaurant! Great value!
Stayed there two times. May 7th and May 13. May 7th we arrived late and had to go to another hotel which wasn't good - prairie inn. However best western comped the room and gave me points, so in all fairness the customer service was good, even though the prairie inn was a class lower than the best western. Second stay on May 13 was good. Their breakfast is actually very good, it is Buffett style and has a good selection. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. Hotel itself is a bit dated but good for a night's stay.
This is an older hotel, but the rooms were nice and quiet (being older the wall are thick) It is a spreadout well maitained campus. It is a short walk through well kept neighborhoods to the downtown area.
Where do I even begin. It's was complete chaos trying to get reserved rooms, that were taken, back in order. It took almost an hour for them to find one, which included security leading us around the parking lot. They led us through a cat pee smelling hallway just to get to the other side of the buildings and on the other side caution tape beautifully decorated the sidewalk outside of the rooms. It looks like a freaking crime scene. If I could give it a lower rate I would. The rooms have water issues and if you're looking for a long walk before breakfast you are looking at the right place. The buildings are so far apart. I will not stay here again
We have stayed here many times when road tripping through the area. We travel with a small, well behaved, non-shedding dog and always report that she is with us. In the past we complained about the cleaning oder of the rooms and thought that was resolved following a trip a couple of years ago. This time, however, the cleaning odor was simply awful. We did our best to air out the room and thought we were successful. However, when we returned from dinner the odor was still there and I guess we had just adjusted to it.
This place is really a nice place that is well cared for. The staff were very nice and it was just a bit dated. The breakfast buffet was very nice and served in the restaurant. I will return to this classic place
Was an average Best Western. Lacked a little in space in the room-if you have the desk chair out it bumps into the bed.Room was clean and fairly up to date. Breakfast was mediocre. Front desk staff not overly friendly
Went to spend the weekend for the Irish festival. Have stayed in many Best Western motels. this was very low on the scale. The accommodations were great and up to usual BW quality. Nothing wrong. It all fell apart when we went into the restaurant for the free breakfast buffet. We were greeted immediately and shown to our table and told the server would come and take drink order. We waited 10-15 minutes as servers walked right by us and waited on the booth right next to us who had come in after us. The buffet was out of most hot foods, very low on fruits and breads. That happens so it didn't bother us too much--until another 10 to 15 minutes went by and no food replenishment. All that was there was fried, gravy and heavy foods we can't eat due to health concerns. The scrambled eggs were empty, only one slice of bread and a half bagel, and bottom of the bowl fruits were available. Our observations led us to believer that since we were the hotel free buffet guests, we were totally ignored by wait staff. We finally had to grab a passing server and ask for drinks. Eventually the eggs come out, but were gone quickly as there were several people waiting ahead of us to get them. Very unprofessional and low quality service. The buffet tables were dirty with food bits and the utensils lying everywhere. We will never stop at this BW again. And we will keep coming back for the Irish festival each year but will stay at other motels.
I got to the Dunmar Inn around 9pm, and nobody wants to still be working at this time but somehow Brenda at the front desk was as kind and courteous as you can be like it was midday. She was super helpful and patient with getting me squared away and into a room. The rooms are bigger than you'd expect for such an affordable rate.
We were moving and happened on this location. The layout of the rooms was very nice. No rooms above you so no noise or knocking on the ceiling. Layout of room was very nice. Restaurant had excellent breakfast and very service oriented staff. Location perfect with no noise from freeway. I would love to stay here again.
Home away from home. Rooms were exceptionally Clea, couldn't find dust bunnies or any dirt. Bed was comfortable and as beautiful as rooms are they are in process of remodeling rooms. Can't wait to see them!
Great stay awesome service nice quiet room stay their when I'm in Evanston friendly staff great food have not found any place better when it comes too quality of stay at reasonable rates breakfast is A+
The lobby is very nice and we loved the animals they had on display. The grounds were very well maintained. The room was excellent and very clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. All the staff was friendly and inviting from check in to check out. We will definitely be stopping here again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
This is a great place to stay. It's clean and the staff is very friendly. Its nice to be able to drive right up to your door, you don't have to fight with luggage down a long hallway. The beds are some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. And there free breakfast is the best I have ever had.
When I went to check in they told me a price $8,00 higher tha I could get thru best wester online as a diamond select member.I told him I would just book it thru my phone and showed him the price,He said he could do it for same price.Next morning when I went to check out,it was back to original price.I explained what happened, but they just looked at me like I had 2 heads.I told her I would just put on their review, still not a word.So now I chalk up the extra $8.00 to advertisement here on the net
A longtime favorite stop. It starts with great customer service. Kenn at the front desk was welcoming and helpful, equal parts friendly & professional. Amazing taxidermy in the lobby including a Grizzly Bear. Appreciate being able to drive right up to your own door and park in front of your room. So much better than pushing an overloaded and unwieldy luggage cart down a long carpeted hallway !!! Room was spotless & spacious. Fridge/micro & flat screen TV with lots of channels to choose from including TWC and TCM. Although it's an older motel, it's obvious that it has been well maintained and updated. Slept well on super comfortable bed with lovely linens and lots of fat, fluffy pillows. Arrived too late to eat, but have very much enjoyed the on-site restaurant in past visits. Always look forward to staying here and it never fails to be anything but wonderful. Highly recommend !!!
The lobby has a keen Western feel and is updated with great amenities. The staff was friendly, the rooms were comfortable and engaging. The rooms are drive up style, and it has breakfast served at the Legal Tender restaurant.
We did here a stop over on our travel to the north. It is a typical motel appropriate for a stop over. The staff is doing their best although the town is kind of deserted and the motel a little bit outdated. The room was clean and big.
We were extremely happy with every aspect of this hotel. A real home away from home. The staff at the front desk and the breakfast in the morning were so friendly and the accommodations were excellent. Loved the big bed.
Dunmar Inn was a pleasant surprise. It looks like one of the old style western lodges, with cabins all over the property, because the rooms are scattered all around - one story high. The rooms are spacious and nice. I think this has all been here, and Best Western spiffed them up and build a new building in front for reception and dining. We enjoyed our stay and we had the best free hotel hot breakfast that we have ever had. This is a place you should try!
We stop here as we are moving and this place was clean. The rooms where huge. We are traveling with cats and dogs and we had a lot of space for all of us. The front desk was very helpfully and friendly.
We had to go to Evanston, Wyoming for a family wedding. Per my cousin's recommendation, we stayed at the BW Dunmar. First of all, all rooms are on the ground floor, which I don't prefer. Secondly, the parking lot outside the rooms was like a ice-skating rink. It had been plowed, but there was thick black ice in the parking right outside the rooms and nobody had tried to cut it away or even put ice melt on it. It was absolutely dangerous. When we returned to the room at 1 am, the room was cold. There were two different thermostats on the wall with no instructions. It was below freezing outside. It took us several hours to get the heater to come on proper. Meanwhile, I discovered there was not an extra blanket provided in the room. When I phoned the front desk I was told "If we have one I'll send it up". That was the last we heard and no blanket was delivered. I also found the sheets to rough and irritating to my legs. It was a long, sleepless night. On the uptake, they provided a very good hot breakfast, but in only until 9:30 on a Sunday.
It's old but some renovation has been done. Rooms are big and the "range" of rooms are not connected. Like an old motel you can drive right up to your door. Kind of nice. Bathrooms have gold fixtures, so are outdated but the beds were comfy and carpet didn't look too bad and they take pets! Nice buffet breakfast. Dinner and drinks were just ok. Good price for an ok place.
This appears to be an older property, built on a design that was popular in the 1960's; it has a series of rooms lined up around several parking areas, almost like a motel, but larger. The rooms are exceptionally clean, although some routine maintenance appears to be needed (e.g. the toilet in my room didn't always work quite right). The decor is decent and I was especially appreciative of the extra desk space when I needed to do so work in the room. Breakfast is served in the main restaurant attached to the lobby, which was a bit of a hike from my room. But the breakfast itself was very good, with homestyle hash browns, thick bacon and more warm item. Beverages are done by servers and it was not clear if tips were accepted or welcome. Overall, despite the age of this property, I felt the management had done a good job of maximizing the utility of this asset. I was there for three nights and the overall impression was quite favorable.
Bed was not firm nor saggy, so for many just right I reckon. Room was super quiet, of which I am thankful. Hot water by the gallons! Down side: coldest bathroom ever, no heat in there other than a heat lamp bulb. Other than that, I enjoyed my brief stay there.
Me, my son, and our dog were traveling to Evanston, WY for a spontaneous weekend adventure. We got in about 11 pm and the staff were super welcoming and pleasant! We had a room reserved and I was pleasantly surprised to discover all the rooms at the property are immediately adjacent to the parking lot: no struggling with elevators or locating our room amid long hallways! There was a dog walking area outside but near our room, so that was very convenient! Breakfast was served in the main building near the lobby, which was across the parking lot from our room. It was delicious! The wait staff were very accommodating for our specific needs and the buffet was nice and hot. Overall it was a great experience! I will definitely stay there again!
It doesn't look new on the outside, but the rooms were really clean and actually smelled good. The bed was comfortable. The service was great. We stayed the night before Thanksgiving. That morning we woke up late and missed breakfast but they still offered us orange juice and coffee without us even asking. Also they sent us with little breakfast ToGo bags which was awesome. Brenda was the lady that helped us and she was extra kind even though she had to work the holiday.
Very happy with our stay. Rooms are very comfortable, complete with everything you need. Refrigerator, microwave, iron, ironing board, coffee, tea and hair dryer. Breakfast that is included in the price was served in the restaurant and excellent. Full breakfast not the usual cereal and toast.
This is our usual stop on the way from Oregon to Denver. They take dogs and there is a decent restaurant on the property. The rooms are always clean, warm and comfortable. It is more special than the usual chain BW. Check out the grizzly in the lobby.
I like having my car parked right at my room. This is a single story motel. There are several buildings stretched out on the property. There is plenty of parking and room to walk outside. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I have stayed here two times and for 4 nights each time. Quiet too.
We stayed here on a cross country road trip. The hotel room was clean and comfortable, with a nice sitting area. Staff was efficient and friendly. We ate dinner at the restaraunt and it was good. The hotel offers breakfast at the restaurant as well, with a good selection of items and beverage service at the table. Beds were a little soft for our tastes.
I always stay here now. I tried others in town but have come back to the Dunmar Inn. The breakfast has improved greatly since I first started staying there. Now I will stay there all the time, when staying in Evanston.
The rooms were clean, the staff helpful and friendly. The coffee was really good, and breakfast was awesome if you got down there early. My room was beside the elevator machinery, and the noise of the elevator woke me up multiple times throughout the night and early morning. I went out and bought some foam earplugs, but it didn't really help. I got almost no sleep and was garbage at my job the next morning.
We usually love staying at Best Western Inns. However the one in Evanston Wyoming was disappointing for what we paid. The best thing was that they served both link and paddy sausage on their breakfast menu which was fantastic. We should have paid about $30.00 less for the hotel as it was older and looked the part. It was clean but I would expect the price we paid it would look more up-to-date.
Rather nice and unique best western. Fitness center did not have a treadmill. The only cardio machine was a recumbent bike and it did not work.If looking for hotel with fitness center; I would not consider this best western
Stayed here last night. 1. The room is spotless and huge (double king) 2. The bedding is spectacular and so is the bed super comfy 3. 1 level hotel drive right up to your door 4. Pet friendly 5. This hotel has everything, lounge and restaurant. Great atmosphere. 6. Breakfast buffet was delicious especially the bacon 7. Hot tub and heated pool clean, pool towels provided. 8. The grounds are well kept. We will stay here again in the future!
We have stayed at this hotel as a couple and also with our puppy. We have found accommodations to be excellent in both forms. From the registration desk, to the room, to the restaurant and then the checkout process, we have been treated professionally and warmly. As long as our travels require us to take this route, we will continue to schedule our stops at Evanston, WY., at the Dunbar Inn.
I really liked this hotel! I always wipe everything down with clorex wipes regardless of where I stay and this was top tier clean!!!. I was very happy about this and felt very comfortable sleeping here. Also I like how you can park right outside your door. It's really a cute place and the staff are very kind and helpful. The breakfast is awesome too. The room size is very good as well. I really can't get over how clean it was. I am so happy. Our dog liked it too!
I was able to find this hotel online and they offered a discounted price for a "last minute" booking. After we checked in it was a pretty good distance to our room because the rooms are drive up and spread out across the property, which is like 2 blocks....we tried the electronic key card, and they didn't work. So we had to schlep all the way back to the check in desk to have her re-key the cards. (I put them in my purse that has a magnet closure and apparently wiped out the coding......) When we got into the room I was pleasantly surprised. It was large and comfortable for an older hotel. There is a nice restaurant on site with decent food and the hotel also offers a free breakfast. We may come back here again, I do like the drive up feature of this hotel. It is easy to get our luggage in and out and we parked right in front of out room!
Traveling solo. Liked the ground level court yard room setting with ease of vehicle access. Friendly staff. Good cont breakfast. Quiet. Rooms very clean. Will stay again if in area. Strong water pressure in shower which you don't find very often. Ample plug ins for elec. free WiFi.
We had reservations at Quality Inn but when we arrived they could not give us a downstairs front room even though we booked weeks ago. So we went to Best Western at the last minute. We were so lucky because this hotel has amazingly nice, large rooms and parking in front of our room door. Since I am handicapped this is a major advantage. The price was fair for this amount of luxury. We have a large king room with sofa, chair and coffee table plus all the normal amenities. Furniture and bedding are upscale. We are very happy to recommend this lovely hotel.
The Best Western Dunmar Inn in Evanston Wyoming is a well-kept expansive property. The furnishings in the room are nice and the bed is comfortable. The bathroom was tight but adequate. I will stay there on my next trip to Evanston.
This is a really unique property. All one story rooms, so you can park right outside your door. However, that means that they can be a significant distance from the registration desk, the restaurant and lounge and the pool areas. Keep that in mind if you have mobility problems or ask for something close. Beautiful grounds though, incredible fountain and sculpture at the entrance. We even saw deer near our room which was at quite a distance from the entrance! The restaurant and lounge were quite popular. There is large vehicle parking available to the side of the buildings.
This is a great place to stay. We will definitely stay there again. We had a very enjoyable experience staying at this motel. The breakfast was excellent the room was great and it is close to everything
The room was clean , comfortable & quiet. The parking was the largest I have ever seen at any motel , it can fit any moving truck or trailer with ease. It did have a telephone in the bathroom. Being 66 years old , I thought it was cute. A great place to stay. I will return.
This hotel represents an excellent value. I had two different stays in one week, and I slept well in both rooms, which were clean and comfortable. The front desk was efficient and cordial, checking me in and out in about a minute. The process was not rushed as the staff oriented me when assigning the room. The morning breakfast buffet was excellent with a nice selection. The bacon was very delicious, about the best that I have tasted-- not over cooked.
The hotel room was clean and spacious inside. As far as the hotel goes I can't complain! The free complementary breakfast however was definitely lacking! The buffet food was completely gone and once seated we couldn't even get drinks brought to us!
The rooms were a good size and the pool was refreshing. The staff was friendly and efficient. One disappointment was the hot tub - it was only a warm tub. The on-site restaurant was good, which is always welcoming on a motorcycle trip - good to not have to get back on the bikes and ride somewhere to eat.
Very nice stay room easy acess to to dog walking and pet area. Picked up food for restrauant to eat in. Good value and very comfortable room. Traveling from Buffalo Wy to AZ. Would recommend to friends.
The room is very sizable. The biggest drawbacks are hotrods on the streets up to late at night, and a restaurant somewhat understaffed. The bathroom is very small. If you are over 6ft tall the vanity is very low, as is the ceiling, and the toilet. On the other extreme, the shower head must be designed for NBA players. Some consistency would be a good compromise. On the plus side, the rooms are tastefully decorated, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Being all ground level means no noise above you. Would rate as a B- overall.
Nasty woman at front desk. Tried to charge us for 4 adults when there were three of us. Charged my 17 year old son for an adult and then proceeded to call security on us when my family went into the nightclub for my husband and I to have a beer after 13 hours of driving.
Older hotel, more like a motel.....rooms were very clean. Sleep quality was good. Hotel located on main road for easy access. Breakfast was provided and reasonable with the usual offerings. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating.
Stayed here on a motorcycle trip and were certainly surprised by the layout. It's a really neat set up being composed of several single story buildings spread out across the property. They're laid out nicely with the main building housing the offices as well as the bar and restaurant. Park at your front door. The room was nice, quiet and everything worked exactly as it should. The waterfall out front is really cool too.
Hotel has some great history .Nice Wyoming Hotel A little aged /dated The breakfast was outstanding The front desk person was happy and excited that we stayed there.A real Gem Love the gangster information. Really enjoyed that .
Good Food in the Legal Tender Restaurant but Pricey. Great Prime Rib dinner. Our room was a little far from the restaurant but we took the car so as It wasn't to far for me to walk. Dinner was so good I was glad we took the car after wards.
Clean room, comfortable bed, reasonable rate. The staff was really nice and took good care of us. Breakfast was great, the man loved the bacon and biscuits! After tent camping for 7 days and 6 nights-it was perfect!
First of all, they offered us 10% with a card application, which we did, and used it at other BW along the way. My husband chose this because all rooms are downstairs with a door you can back up to--easy to unpack and pack up and leave in morning. But seeing the roomy suite-sized room, it almost was a shame we had another destination (Oregon Coast), to get to. Otherwise a few days stay here would be ideal for anyone wanting to stay longer. Although they had a restaurant, which included steaks, we'd already had steak dinner last night. So, we just had pizza in room. I'll never understand why the sink isn't in the same room as the tub and toilet. Makes things a little difficult. However, there was an accordian curtain, which you could close off to have privacy from the rest of the room. Very nice place and I'd stay here again should we come out this way. It's just hard to spot as it's squeezed in, and a real dive of a motel is very close to it. But you can't miss the beautiful statue/waterfall next to the Best Western in their parking lot.
The staff were great - the food was very good. The room was very large and bed comfortable. Price was reasonable and they are pet friendly. The only reason I am giving it a 3 is that my non-smoking room had an odor of cigarette smoke in it. I did inform the front desk at check-out.
This is one of the best places to stay in evanston wyoming Staff is very helpful Pool is small but nice Food is good Beds are very soft and very nice A happy wife also is very good Went to the racetrack then to the local rodeo Its a small town but a blast If your traveling through Its a good place to stop Also if you have time stop by the Horse Palace
The Restuarant Manager should be fired, as well as her staff. Horrible service. Rude lady should get out of anything that requires more customer service, than digging a hole. My advice to Best Western would be to clean house and hire new management for the Resaturant.
Hotel is spread over a larger area, most rooms do not have a 2nd floor so no one waking overhead. The beds were comfortable an the room was clean, had the best nights sleep of our 3 week trip. Will stay again on our next trip through.
I expected the best western to be much better especially if they are charging $116.99 plus tax per night in a small town of Evanston. I should of spent the extra $ and stayed at holiday inn or Hampton inn which looked much better. The outside looks old and inside isn't too bad until you get to the bathroom which looks like from the 80s and is so small you have to maneuver around the door to close it. The worst part I'd have to say is the fact that my kindergartener found a used condom and wrapper in the night stand!! The pool was small but nice. Breakfast is supposed to be “made to order” as advertised on the website... it's not. They set up a not too bad but messy buffet that consist of cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, bagels, toast, biscuits and gravy and watermelon & grapes. I'll be going to Evanston again and won't be spending my money at this place..
Great hotel. Good location. Very friendly staff. Extremely clean room. Very comfortable bed which offered a great night sleep. I would highly recommend this hotel to all travelers. Overall, extremely happy with my stay...
All rooms were ground level with parking right outside your door. Nice pool area. Restaurant and lounge conveniently located at the hotel. Breakfast was above and beyond what i expected or have had at other hotels. Very impressed
This is a grand hotel for the price. We will definitely stay there again when traveling through. Beautiful place and grounds. We arrived late and we're greeted by well trained staff including Security. The free breakfast was hot and had great choices.
Rooms are big, with a window in the bathroom and a curtain to separate sleeping and sitting area; the restaurant and lounge are very nice; the pool and spa area is inviting-- nice landscaping. Great value.
Stayed here one night and found itvto be very pleasant. Hospitality was great, nice hot buffet breakfast included. Nice restaurant and bar on site. Everyone was very nice amd its a pet friendly hotel. Will return when in the area.
I might have been inclined to rate this property as a 4/5. But the front desk attendant (I believe his name was Andrew) was without a doubt the friendliest, most welcoming person I've ever seen at a front desk. So I'm going 5/5 here. On the one hand, it's something of an old school motel. I think I heard Andrew say it was something like 15 acres in all, with several buildings spread out. It's easy for that kind of property to fall into disrepair. (Look no further than the *very* rundown "motel" next door to this one.) But they've clearly taken good care of this Best Western over the years. The rooms could use a renovation to be in line with what I'm seeing at other BWs. But they still pass muster for what you pay. We had to take off early and couldn't sample breakfast (starts at 6:30 am), so I can't comment on that. But the room and the service were outstanding.
We stayed at this hotel on our trip to yellowstone national park. The hotel itself ist very nice, new and comfortable and most import clean rooms. Staff was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately the same can not be said about the in house restaurant. The food was ok, though the restaurant itself was quite dirty and disorganized. Went there for dinner and were placed at a dirty table, Pepsi was refilled upon request. The breakfast was horrible, the waiter were so slow, that most of the tables were still dirty (though only 1/3 filled with guests) had to wait until food was refilled, and even then it was gone faster than the staff could replace it. It's a good place to sleep, but go and eat somewhere else
They no longer allow smoking on property. We will miss them. As will all of our friends who travel when I tell them we aren't staying here anymore. Sad. It is a clean, comfortable and a very friendly staff, but when “downsizing the needs of all travelers”, so be it. Sorry to see them go by the wayside just for the sake of a few. C'est la vie.
we got in late, it was a quiet night at the hotel, I liked being able to park right at the door … literally. Wife on a O2 concentrator, so the closeness was convenient. went right to sleep. peaceful place. left early so didn't get a chance to use much of the amenities, but did have breakfast at the attached restaurant. good food.
Driving from Canada to Florida. This Best Western older Motor Court style inn is dog friendly - which was greatly appreciated. The front desk gentleman very nice. Room was average. Only 2 bath towels in the room and they were thin. Air conditioner not working properly.
This place with its location and amenities is simply amazing!! I wish I knew about this place in Evanston Wyoming sooner. I will definitely stay here and share my experience with family and friends. The lobby was probably my favorite thing about this facility
As always and in all of my reviews everything has been great at the Best Western Hotels and we will continue to stay at the Best Western Hotels whenever possible in all of our travels as long as nothing changes.
Great Hotel ...The Staff Was Great Rooms Were Very Clean And The Beds Were Like Sleeping On A Cloud ...If Your Ever Passing Thru On I 80 Make This As A Stop On Your Way Thru ...Thank You Evanston See You Again Soon
When I drove up I was a little concerned about the condition of the property. While it is definitely an older property, the room was a good size, the furnishings nice, bed was super comfortable, with really good quality sheets, and great pillows! So great that I asked the desk what kind they were :) The on site restaurant is also very good.
Front desk agents were especially friendly & helpful. The restaurant staff was also very helpful even with our late dinner. My spaghetti was fine - my husband's steak was more medium than medium rare for which they discounted the bill a bit.
Continental breakfast is superior to almost every other BW that I've stayed at. Best value i found during a cross-country trip. The only reason I've not rated 5 stars all across is that the room decor us more than a little dated - a fact that may appeal to some.
The Hotel Staff are very professional and gentle, the hotel is confortable and very close to the highway, they have a good restaurant, a Steak House, but by aware of the time of services, we can't enjoy it because the staff don't take tables 15 minutes before the time of close.
The staff was quite helpful upon check-in. We did stay in the jacuzzi suite. The room was quite warm when we got there and the decor seemed to be out of the early to mid 80's. The room did have a
I loved this property, and not just because I could stay with my cat, although that was important. The decor was perfect for the location. Having a restaurant and bar on property is always a bonus. The room was large and very comfortable. I liked that the property is made up of several buildings with 8 - 10 rooms in each - it made it very quiet and didn't feel crowded. I would definitely stay again, although it's unlikely that I will find myself back in Evanston.
no problems, clean and quiet overall, friendly and helpful staff, Restaurant part of the hotel is a very nice amenity, good food Only issue was TV remote has no guide, can't tell what channel is on, or how to get back to it.
I just had a terrible night. Have you ever been in a grandmother's house that smelled of old linen or cotton that was washed to within an inch of its life? That's what the room smelled like. And it was hot! Turned the heat off, nothing. Turned on the window air conditioner, it didn't work. Called the front desk and they offered to send the security guard but it was late and I was undressed so I said no. That was a mistake. I had a fan so I put it in the window. That helped but now guests walking by could see in. Still it was hot because the topper on the bed meant that even with no blankets you were hot on one side. The room was remodeled but you can tell the property is very old. The shower was great. Every time I went to close the bathroom door I pulled the phone by the toilet off the hook. Do I really need a land line phone by the toilet? The TV didn't work but the security guard fixed it. Be prepared to make new friends. The breakfast area is tiny. You'll be bumping into someone new for sure. I shared my experience with the front desk and they apologized. I wish they would have spent more money on the room instead of the many stuffed full sized bears and outdoor water falls with deer statues. I had just joined the BW rewards program thinking that all hotels in the chain were nice. Ha! It's just a brand to share advertising. Read the reviews.
stayed here before and would stay again we enjoy the little bar at the hotel we like to be able to walk over and play a little pool. Eat at the restaurant had a hamburger was great and they had a nice Continental breakfast the room was clean and comfortable went to golf they have a great coarse
Stay was fine. Room clean and comfortable. Only issue was with the remote. Front desk was very helpful. Was not able to have the breakfast but looked fine. Shower was very powerful and bed was comfortable. Bed skirt was torn.
Interesting property. Large and sprawling. Clean and staff was very helpful with 2 small problems we had. It's an older property and the bathroom is a bit crowded but it is pleasant. Restaurant is good and provides information on the owner and his background.
We stayed overnight at the BW Dunbar in Evanston WY. VERY WELL KEPT Motel! All the property and maintained.was well managed. Every issue for a motel was positive. we would return any time we in the area. Very clean,,well managed and all the personel were helpful! You will be comfortable .
My mom and I stayed here, as I was moving her from Wyoming to AZ. This was a well kept hotel, with comfortable beds. Very clean and staff were friendly. The standard room is a nice size too. I only stayed here 1 night, but I'd definitely stay here again.
Very well kept hotel Dining was very good and the beds were very comfortable And the shower was awesome wish they had the horse racing in the lounge They moved it to the tnt building which was ok Jenn in the dining was awesome Another reason why we go to this hotel
We stayed 2 nights 3 days. The bed was great. The room was nice, roomy, clean. Staff was very helpful. Full wonderful breakfast with bacon, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit. Loved it. The rooms were very quiet and peaceful. The hotel lounge had really great food as the restaurant is being renovated. Really appreciated the atmosphere and kind staff who answered all our questions.
Bed and the room very comfortable. Staff very helpful and nice. Got a good dinner at the restaurant after over 600 miles on thr road, it was a nice relaxing evening. Thank you for caring about your travelers.
We 3 are traveling from Orygun and Washington to get to Florida. My full grown male cat was allowed to stretch & roam in our room. He even got a nice lil walk outside sense our room was across the road from the main hotel. As for the rooms, beds an food... We couldn't have ran into a better hotel. The beds were amazing. (even with the outdated bathrooms.) The contental breakfast was awesome! It had a wide variety of food choices from. And the staff was friendly. Thank you BW Kim, Lori an "Fat Cat"
I had a free night at a BW and was traveling through so stayed here. This is older, huge with lots of rooms. I wandered through the parking lot(s) and finally found mine. It had a coffee maker, microwave and fridge so that was nice. But it felt kind of creepy, old and isolated. Also, the breakfast the next day really wasn't. Didn't even have boiled eggs. A few cartons of yogurt, some granola bars, some fruit. I went to the Maverick station and got coffee and boiled eggs on my way out of town. I'd pay a little extra and stay at the Holiday Inn Express.
Rundown outdated hotel website stated had hot tub but did not state it was only outside. Room very outdated TV on stand not on wall could not watch in bed. Heater broken in room. Only lamps very dark bathroom very Poor
Overall very nice. I like that they are pet friendly but I couldn't find a place close to our room for dog to go potty. I have no complaints otherwise for staying at Best Westerans hotels. We always try to stay with them.
this hotel is absolutely fantastic. I've stayed in Best Western's everywhere, and I'm telling you, this is the best one I've found. The room was spotless, large TV, comfortable couch, restaurant and bar, and the best part was the extremely affordable pricing. They even had designated parking for my truck. I appreciated the people, and I had a fantastic stay. I'll go out of my way to pull through here again.
Room had tools left in room, bathroom door dismounted and leaning against wall. Got another room with the bathroom door again leaning the wall, only this time no tools. It is off season in December, but come on.
This was a nice hotel which was clean, friendly employees and the beds were comfortable. There is a lounge and restaurant. The restaurant wa undergoing renovations, so only the lounge was open right now. The only complaint was the rooms are not connected to three min facility. Iht is more like a renovated motel. You have to go outside and elk quite a distance for breakfast and for the lounge. They only have a continental breakfast which for this price point most Best Westerns have a full breakfast. It is also very easy access to the highway. All in all we would recommend staying here.
Hotel staff is very friendly and professional, however the cold 'comp' breakfast hardly fits the outside freezing weather. Too small breakfast area obviously doesn't accommodate this huge property site and I walked my cereal and muffin back to my room. Hotel 'restaurant' mainly serves steaks and not many other options. TV's have fuzzy pictures, many local channels but nothing else. They did offer me a room without a reservation!
This Best Western is under going a little renovation, but don't let that stop you from staying here. They had room for us to park our travel trailer and gave us a room right next to the pet walk area. We asked for a 1 king room and it was Huge!! Bathroom is a little dated (gold fixtures) but everything worked great. Lounge/restaurant on site is awesome.
Great Staff Cozy Beds. We have never had a bad experience here. My Wife and I find this a great stop off in between travel from Wyoming and Utah and Back. Easy room access and large and spacious remodeled rooms. Super COZY beds
We were not planning to stay here but the storm caused the interstate to be closed. Very happy that the hotel had a room for us. We were anxious to get on the road again as soon as the road was open. We will stay again if the need arises.
The room we were assigned was spacious, but the bathroom was very outdated and the room had a very musty smell . . to the point I brought in a car air freshener to try and mask the odor. We stayed here as it had a restaurant so we would not have to go off property. The restaurant was closed and there was a cold continental breakfast instead of something warm as advertised. We were disappointed. Might be worth another chance, but I would call ahead first and double check the room before you unload everything.
Nice large rooms, comfortable bed, and excellent service at a good price. Every room is on a ground floor. Nice restaurant on grounds with outlaw theme, reasonable prices. Sauna in the exercise room. Quiet surroundings.
This was the second time in 2 weeks that I have stayed here. I have stayed maybe a half dozen times over the last 5 years. Great rooms, great beds. Bar and restaurant friendly and efficient. Good food. Breakfast with room. My only wonderment was why the price with one occupant was a full 35 dollars less than with two on the second stay. Watch out for that. ?
This is an extremely well maintained, organized clean hotel. All hotels should use it as an example and strive to serve customers this way. The rooms are very large and comfortable with plenty of room to put luggage and comfortable chairs/couches. The bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet. Additionally, lovely landscaping. Breakfast was exceptional for a motel on the road. We really appreciated the cooked to order meal in the dining room.
The motel was extremely clean and service was excellent. We had made reservations and directions provided with reservation were perfect. We were tired and the staff seemed to sense that and were extremely helpful with check in.
Nice stay and great service. It is a nice place to relax and the food is really good. The lounge is nice and has a nice ambiance and is does not get crowded in the fall and winter. In the summer it does start to get a bit crowded later in the evenings.
Traveling home from Oregon to Colorado and stopped here for the night. Got a great rate and was pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious with couch and overstuffed chair. Layout of hotel was great, all single story. Restaurant on site where we had a great dinner and next morning, made to order breakfast in the same restaurant which comes with the price of the room.
Loved this hotel, very clean, friendly helpful staff. Clean comfortable room, comfortable beds. Will stay here again if I am in the area. I would recommend sausage as an option to bacon on the breakfast menu. Food was good and served in a timely manner.
Upon check-in the staff greeted me with a smile. Speedy check-in and check-out. Great décor of the lobby and the entrance to the parking. Loved the small town charm of the place. The rooms should be upgraded with new fixtures. But, overall I had a great stay.
The hotel is very large with separate wings. There grounds are very nice with lots of grass to walk the dog. The rooms are adequate, but not huge. Someone with a wheelchair can manage, but with little extra room. The breakfast is served in their restaurant, and is very good. You have lots of choices and the food is good.
The room was great, the breakfast was great. The service was fast, courteous and friendly. The price was a little more than the cheaper places, but you definitely get what you pay for! This place was above and beyond! We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in town!
Bar restraint great food. Convenient very nice room great stay. I have stayed here before and will stay again. Best place in Evanston when traveling I try and time my travels to stay here whenever I can.
Great location. Awesome breakfast included in room rate. Large, quiet and well maintained room. Very reasonable price. High shower head. Awesome efficient quiet room heating system. The only negative is the low flow toilet that was in my room that required 3 separate flushes to do the job. No big deal, just an annoyance and a joke as far as saving water- like all other low flow toilets. Fortunately the shower was not low flow. Great pressure and volume for a fast shower. This is definitely the place to stay in Evanston. I will be back. Thank you for a great stay.
Very clean comfortable and friendly hotel. I decided to stay here for a quick overnight before heading north, the reviews seemed good, and price too. I arrived and was greeted very ably by a reception clerk who efficiently checked me in and I headed to my room - A very well kept and well presented place. The layout is a little complicated when you first encounter it but that adds to its charm. Its a motel style place with parking in front of each room so easy access in and out of the room. I had work to do so I always hope theres a sofa - the room I was in was very well set up (i guess they are all alike) sofa armchair and a coffee table even. I was able to get lots done in a relaxed space. I ate at the bar/restaurant Legal Tender which is attached to the hotel. The menu was ok and food pretty good, kinda basic bar food but OK. The waitstaff were friendly and service was fast. All in all a great place to chill work and play too - its well located for the Wyoming landscape and for Salt Lake City. Its on my list to stay here again!
Have been staying here for several years now during our travels between our home in Wyoming and visiting family in California. Always have been treated extremely well by staff. Rooms always clean and reasonable price. Will continue using and would recommend to others.
Excellent experience from check-in to check-out. The motel was clean--both inside and out. So quiet--we slept wonderfully. Did not take advantage of the workout facilities, but everything else was over the top--plenty of room, comfortable bed, quiet and peaceful!
Food handling safety did not exist!! Very poor service and long wait time for your food! We waited over 25 minutes for a chicken sandwich at lunch. At breakfast the next morning we saw kitchen staff handle serving spoon bowl with no gloves and place it back in the food! Not very appetizing, let alone safe!
Room was well appointed and clean. Location to the highway was great and there was a good restaurant nearby. Staff was nice, breakfast was ok. Good place to stay on this trip. Id recommend to anyone traveling across the country.
The rooms are nice but the shower head not able to adjust. Breakfast is in the restaurant and you are given a minimal list of choices. If you chose coffee for your drink then you didn't get any juice, for example. I myself prefer a buffet where you can pick what you'd like to eat and how much.
Big rooms, adiquate bath room, great made to order breakfast, But Best of All... GREAT RATES !!!! Motel is huge, all first floor with several buildings spread out pver tthe property. Fantastic Bed & Pillows too.
We had a great stay at Dunmar Inn and were so pleased with the restaurant on the property. After a day of traveling it was great not to have to drive more for dinner. The food was great and the cooked to order breakfast was a pus as well. The room was clean, very spacious, with comfortable beds. If in the area again we will definitely stay again.
This is good for military/veterans traveling with pets nice room close to green grass and had outside access and quotes area so that you cannot hear other rooms with pets great value for the money if your on a budget
I stayed at this facility while attending a model railroad event. The city has historical facilities that make this a great place to hold our meet. This is a full service property and the staff went out of their was to make our stay great. We are planning on returning next year.
We really Enjoyed our stay. It was nice and clean. Staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast was good. Price was affordable. I really enjoy staying with best western. The restaurant was good food and nice price.
Place sucks. WHY OUT DATED. Holes in the carpet funny smells looks like it was nice in 1960. Bed was not very comfortable. Hair in tub and toilet. You're better off driving down the road a few miles and staying somewhere else.
We usually spend one night, four times each year in either Salt Lake City or Evanston on our way to Colorado from CA. We found this jewel of a hotel a couple of years ago and have used it ever since. It's perfect - especially if you have a pet. It's not fancy, but it's clean and completely accommodating. The restaurant's food is very good ("homemade style") and they serve generous portions. The breakfast is not some wimpy buffet, it's a sit-down-and-order-off-the-menu type and they serve it up quick. (Guess they know everyone's in a hurry to get on with their day!) Anyway....try it - you'll like it!!
We arrived after a 15 hour drive and were very tired and weary. The folks at the front desk was very accommodating and helpful. I requested a single room with two queen beds for my wife and daughter and with a military discount. The hotel was almost full but the desk person was able to find a room for us. The room was comfortable but some reason there was a foul odor in the room (room #551). The breakfast had a lot to offer but you had to sit down in the restaurant and be waited on. It wasn't a self serve cafeteria style. We were on a tight schedule and had to be on the road so we could not enjoy the breakfast meal. I would stay here again next time we are passing through this way.
Beds were fabulous. Service at complimentary breakfast was a downer. The other waitresses seemed nice but ours (long Brown hair in a ponytail) was able to single-handedly take our experience here from a 5 to a 3. My daughter didn't see anything on the "free breakfast" menu and asked for a hot tea in place of a meal and the waitress said she would charge us extra for it as she had already ordered an orange juice. Way to blow a rating.
We have stayed here at least four times now, and it is excellent! You can't beat it for the price, you always know what you are going to get with a Best Western property. Also there is a bar and restaurant on site. We paid for the rib eye steak and both of our steaks were cooked to perfection, exactly as asked.
Stayed here one night just to visit for the parade and rodeo. A fabulous experience. Very friendly. The hotel was great, everything needed was there. Great on site watering hole and restaurant. Breakfast was excellent.(included)
This hotel has great amenities and the comfort level of the beds was supreme. I would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to any who are traveling through Wyoming. We can for Evanston days and were well rewarded by the town and the small town feel of all of the events.
If you love breakfast, this is the place to stay. The breakfast buffet is in their restaurant and has the quality and selection you would expect in a nice restaurant. The rooms are nice and spacious and are well maintained and clean.
Room looked great. The bathroom was very small and had a phone in the way of getting up and down. Down pillow are nice but an option would have been nice since it hold heat and smash down to nothing. Took a long while to cool room down.
A very welcoming motel with excellent facilities. We were able to get food in the bar even though we arrived quite late. Excellent help from the bar staff. Pleasant atmosphere and good facilities in the rooms
I like the Dunmar...stayed there a few times before October. A stroke disabled my husband last October, and when I walked into the "accessible" room -751 - it was a far cry from truly accessible. While I would love to stay there again, I can't because the accessible room was not accessible to people who are not ambulatory.
We enjoyed our stay, The room and beds were comfortable, and the staff made sure everything was satisfactory. The breakfast got our day off to a great start. We would definitely stay at this location again.
We live in a world now where customer service isn't always given,so it it is very nice when it is. I don't always get good service at all Best Westerns but it was outstanding. So thank you very much for having such a kind and helpful staff.
I always plan to stay at the Dunmar Inn when I do a U.S. west road trip. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are especially good - good night sleep! The breakfast is a real plus. Best Western always offers breakfast but this one is especially good - served at the in-house restaurant.
We got to the hotel after midnight and was greeted by a very friendly front desk. The hotel is spread out. When we got to our room it smelled and looked very clean and fresh. The bed was very comfortable for me and my husband both. The breakfast buffet was great.
This is a typical larger Best Western. Room was clean and very comfortable with a couch and separate bath area. Great plus that there is a lounge and dinning room on property. Exercise room was lacking...no treadmill or free weights. Pool is outdoors. The staff in the lounge is top notch! Bryon was extremely personable and helpful. Breakfast was great and actual food on a buffet - not continental. Lobby had some cool stuffed bears, bobcats and other local wildlife. If you want a 5 star place, don't stay here. If you want 5 star service (especially in the lounge) for a good price, this is your place. I appreciated that they give a military discount.
Stayed in a 2 Queen room -- clean as a whistle, efficient service at the front desk, reservation was exactly what we requested. Breakfast was dandy. Price was right. Good, solid, reliable, safe place to stay. For a woman traveling, this was just what I wanted.
We had breakfast there. You can eat off the menu or get the buffet. We were kind of late for breakfast so the buffet was taken down. The food was good. I loved the pancakes! It's a family friendly place.
Nice hotel staff.Absolutely horrible restaurant.Burger $14.00 steak ( in Wyoming) hard as a rock, warm, chewy as a shoe leather.Staff unkempt hair, clothes.Just stay away from the restaurant. We left early and did not take advantage of the free breakfast for fear that it was the same cook-staff that made or dinner the night before.
The grounds are quaint and quite charming. The rooms, however, like the signage, seem to have been taken directly from the set of Mad Men. There is no central air, but the wall unit does surprisingly well at keeping the room cool even for as large as it is. This hotel is very reminiscent of your typical motel room, not what I would expect from a Best Western, but the bed was comfortable, and the room had both a refrigerator and microwave, which is nice for travelers who are on a budget. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Leaving Laramie and I was not looking forward to the long drive back to Vegas. So I cut the trip in half by stopping in Evanston, WY at the Dunmar Inn. A gem of a Best Western. This is what I call a vintage property. Quaint with the air of the 50's from the outside. But the inside is modern and comfortable. Great decision on my part to stop for the night. There is a really great restaurant on the property so there is no need to venture off looking for a place to eat. If you've never been to Wyoming this is a great place to start. And make sure you make reservations at the Dunmar Inn.
The rooms are large and were very clean. Have comfortable chairs and even an ottoman to relax and get your feet up. It was a weekend and full house so they offered breakfast buffet. It was nice with fresh food and fruit. The grounds are large and very well maintained, clean and landscaped well. The room rate was good. All the staff was well dressed and polite. We will definitely stay here again when in town.
We stayed one night on route to Arches NP and were travelling with a 6 yr old and a 10 month old. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient checking in. Our room was clean and the beds were so comfy. We made use of the outdoor pool and spa, and they were both great. Breakfast was at the adjoining restaurant. We ordered off the included breakfast menu and everything was delicious. Great value for the services! Will definitely be back.
The hotel was very comfortable, especially the beds and pillows. I really like that there were two king-sized beds in a room, instead of two queen sized beds. That gives more room when sleeping with a teenager. The room was very large. I love the idea of the sink outside the bathroom, as someone can get ready while another person is in the shower. The breakfast was very good, but I prefer a buffet style breakfast as it doesn't take so long and there are more choices of food.
We had a great time here. The food was good. Bar was fun and great location. I would stay here again and again. Very easy to check in and out. We stay here every year for horse races. Karaoke on Saturday night at The Legal Tender is great people watching!
Pet friendly all rooms on first floor. Restaurant and lounge. Rooms are ok, outdated a/c but worked fairly well. Bathrooms updated. Nice lobby. Complimentary breakfast but sit down so takes a little longer and is buffet. Eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles bread, mini muffins, allowed one drink, watermelon. Exercise room is small not much equipment.
Reserved 2 queens got 2 kings at kings price, tv in first room didnt work and bath fan on last spins Moved to 2nd room still kings and fan also on last spins, beds lumpy otherwise room ok. was told wou.d get discount because of move at ck out told we got a discount we did the aaa discount not the additional food at restaurant for dinner chicken with sauce dry and baked potatoe sized for child stick to salad bar its ok breakfast ok staff professional and ok except for the non discount weve stayed at other best westerns, if this is deserving of the presidents award we wont agan
Stopped here on our way home from vacationing in Colorado. Staff was very friendly at check in and check out. Breakfast was very good with a variety of items to select from. Older hotel but nice. Bed was comfy with lots of pillows.
It is a nice motel, easy to get to right off the freeway. Friendly staff, nice rooms good restaurant/lounge. Quiet atmosphere not noisy so you can enjoy a good night sleep. I like to stay there when I am in town.
I was so impressed with our whole stay there the room was great. The continental breakfast the lounge the resteraunt and all the great employees. I am ready to go back I love that town! We could walk to the places we wanted to go so it was really convienient also.
This is a very nice hotel. There are only a handful in Evanston and I have stayed most of them. This one is older but very clean and quiet and friendly staff. Will absolutely stay here again next time I come through town.
The furniture in the mobility accessible room had to be rearranged to allow passage past the beds to the bathroom. The on-site restaurant did not provide room service but did provide take-out. Unfortunately it was located near the lobby and the accessible room was at such a far distance that driving directions back onto the main road to another road had to be given to find it. Although they provided take-out for lunch/dinner, no menus were available in any of the rooms. The on-site restaurant provided free breakfast and so had to drive back there to get it. Only 1 handicap parking space which was taken, probably by any number of other hotel guests. If no accessible needs are required, it would be a nice restaurant. Breakfast was great but dinner was oversalted.
The Dunmar Inn was a pleasant surprise after crossing Wyoming. The grounds were very nice and well kept and our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having the restaurant on-site and the staff and food were very good, We were very pleased with our stay.
While traveling cross country we are always looking for options to the Hampton Inns that have gotten too pricey. We have tried some Best Westerns and been extremely pleased. Especially the Dunmar Inn. Older property but well maintained and wonderful staff. We will definitely stay again when passing through.
Wonderful way to start our vacation. Near Interstate 80. The hotel welcomes you with a massive waterfall and statues of big-game. An array of taxidermy small and big game native to Wyoming surrounds the lobby and a friendly welcoming staff is there to greet you. We were rapidly checked into a clean comfortable room, and after traveling hundreds of miles enjoyed a quiet, peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast was a step above many hotels offering a larger variety of fresh foods (eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, fruits, cereals, waffles, breads, yogurt and more) .
We went to the horse races in Evanston and stayed at the Best Western, the only hotel in town that has a outdoor pool. Great breakfast, clean, comfortable, and affordable. The lounge/bar gets busy and fun at night!
In Evanston Wyoming stayed here with a group of friends. I give my stay a 5 star rating. Service and motel was fantastic. The restaurant and lounge was all in close location. The entire property was so clean. Got a free breakfast buffet included.
We prefer GW always, and as we passing through Wyoming on our journey, GW was there right off the highway. This particular GW was in a lovely location in the foothills, all on one level in an amazing setting. Try it, you will like it also.
This hotel is impeccably kept inside and outside. The staff and service is excellent! Food is delicious and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel. They have everything you could want or need on site too.
Excellent experience. Ambiance extrodinary with 90% downstairs, drive-up rooms. Grounds keeping professional and invites a stroll of the grounds. Lounge available, and restaurant well staffed. Excellent value for the cost of the stay.
The staff was very kind at both check in and check out and I hesitate to give this motel a bad review. In addition, I did receive an apology from the staff member who checked me out. The reason for the apology was that the room smelled like a warmed over antique shop. ( My apologies to antique shops. The vast majority smell better than that motel room.) There was also dust on the vanity. This was the dirtiest motel on a 19 day trip that took me across the country and home again.
We enjoyed our stay, people were very pleasant , the food was good especially when we had our dinners in the lounge. Lovely landscaping to walk and fenjoy. Everything made for a good time and the horse races were lots of fun.
I have stayed at several other motels when traveling through Evanston and always come back to the Dunmar Inn as it has the best service. They recently upgraded the breakfast option from just pancakes to include a better variety. being a diabetic this is a great imporvement.
Great place that goes over & above. Restaurant was excellent. Room was very comfortable. Staff was great. Pet friendly & handicap accessible. Had some extra amenities that were unexpected like the shower head. Very comfortable with a sofa bed & chair. It was nice not to have to sit on the bed to read.
Pleasant one story complex. Nice Room. Accordian door serparates bathroom from bedroom. No place to sit outside and relax. Outdoor pool is streetside. Noisy but appeared clean. Gift shop left MUCH to be desired.
We were in room 2032. And upon entering it had a strong musty smell. I and my wife have stayed at other hotels in the area and they are all really bad. My wife said the bed is nice and the price was ok. She reminded me how bad the other places were. We sprayed the room with fabreeze and left the door open to air out. I went with my wife in regards to staying especially since it was late and we know how bad other places are. Ithe fabreeze and my nose got used to the smell. If it is a cleaner they use, I would strongly recommend a new one. When speaking to other guest , they said their rooms had a smell but didn't sound to be as bad as ours and they thought it was a cleaner they use.
The Hotel is clean, has good parking, and is easy to find off of Interstate 80. Loved the décor of the lobby, and the staff was very friendly. We went to the bar at the facility (Legal Tenders), which seemed to be a very "Happening" place. it really picked up after about 10:00PM. One of the bartenders was exceptionally friendly (wish I could remember her name, to give Kudos). The food was great as well. The only issue we had was breakfast the next morning took so long (over 10 minutes) to get seated, that we just went to McDonalds, so we could get back on the road, for our long drive. Even with that, I'd still give the place an excellent rating.
We enjoyed staying here. Large nice rooms. The hotel has everything you need on the property. Free breakfast was excellent and restaurant and bar service was very good. Hotel lobby had beautiful decor. Great wifi Would stay here again.
This motel is much larger than I expected, and a bit confusing to find the room, but it was worth it. Rooms are not luxurious, but are very comfortable. The bed and bedding were amazing; bath towels were soft. The hamburgers in the restaurant were handmade; the bloody mary I had was nice and spicy. I really love the water fountain feature out front. No complaints!
We stayed the other day for one day. Arrived close to 4am as we had been driving all night. I had to ring the service bell a few times, and then called the hotel, not something I like to do but I was tired and needed to find out whether or not there was vacancy quickly so I could move on to the next hotel. Was about 5-10 minutes before the front desk staffer came out...I was literally about to leave and go find another hotel. The woman must've been having a bad night because I felt like a was a nuisance by arriving so late (the hotel advertises a 24 hour front desk, so I didn't think it would be an issue). She barely spoke to me, didn't even go over the cost of the room for the night, and when I was leaving for my room I even apologized for arriving so late in the night and she just looked at me. I try not to ask for much from people at 4am, but come on, a dash of politeness would have gone a long way. Luckily the room was nice and the beds were comfortable. We managed to get a double King, and my hubby and I took full advantage of using both beds and slept separately... After a long car ride next to each other it was blissful LOL. Our dog enjoyed the large room to explore too. All in all, we'd probably return should we find ourselves passing through again... But I would try like hell to avoid arriving at an inconvenient time.
Luxury and dog friendly with a unique breakfast that is arrives fast and cooked fresh. Lots of good parking space for pulling a trailer or if you have a large RV. Clean and friendly staff. One thing that is somewhat of a drawback is the location of the ice machine, but the amenities for dogs and great parking makes up for that. I will stay at this hotel whenever I am in Evanston. Wish they had this hotel everywhere I traveled!
With over 150 ground floor rooms, some with smoking available, it was a great find. The internet was superb, and very fast. The restaurant and lounge on site were icing on the travel cake. All the staff were professional and customer oriented. Excellent property to consider for a return visit.
Another flash from the past with a layout of multiple 1960's era buildings with direct outside access from each unit to parking lot. The property is very appealing in a nostalgic way with lobby that is very inviting, an on-site restaurant and lounge that are comfortable. Love the outdoor wilderness theme present in the lobby / restaurant bldg. Rooms with 2 queens are generous size for 3 adults, very clean, well maintained save for a few doors that eventually need to be changed out. Bathroom is fairly small, however it's a small inconvenience. All amenities folks are expecting are provided for in the room. Bedding / pillows are comfortable and the property is quiet, allowing for a good nights sleep. Didn't use the pool, however it is a decent size and looks well maintained. Continental b'fast was decent and a bit better than we usually find in a mid-priced hotel. A decent value for this type of a hotel. Hard to go wrong with this place if you're not looking for fancy amenities and features in a property. Comfortable, clean, good service, a good nights sleep without extracting too much from the wallet.
Our favorite place to stay when traveling through Wyoming. Huge, comfy beds with plenty of room to spread out. And we love having dinner in the evening at their restaurant. The free sit-down breakfast in the morning is an additional amenity you don't find anywhere.
No issues at check in or check out. Parking in front of room and area well lighted. Pet friendly as advertised. Staff always friendly and helpful, Easy to make reservations over phone. Stayed at same hotel while on vacation for past several years.
rms were clean. it was so big that rms were a little sm for 4 people. there was a sit down restrauant. for breakfast.and I guess for dinner. You could park in front of your rm but it was tight. Staff was very nice and helpful.
The lobby brings out the western and wild themes of Wyoming. Welcoming staff, excellent always accessible rooms, easy access from I-80. Legal Tender is a Excellent restaurant; morning free breakfast is a real served meal, wonderful !!!
Hotel is comprised of several buildings on the property, easy access and plenty of parking. The beds are the best I've slept on in a long time. Very friendly staff and a made to order breakfast is included. Restaurant on the property is excellent. Great Value! Will be using this hotel for repeated trips to Evanston this summer.
Wonderful stay. Second time here. Out of the 22 Best Western locations I've stayed at so far, this one is my favorite. It has been owned by the same family since the 1950s. Record setting taxidermy in the lobby with many kinds of animals displayed. No extra noise from upstairs because this location is all on one floor, separated into room groups in separate buildings, and you can drive to your room – as in upscale motel. I remember a nice hotel stay at the Best Western Plus Coach House in Springfield, Missouri, which also has this format – and loved it. Each room has a very quaint and homey feel. There is obvious attention to detail and the rooms are updated and very clean. Had 2 comfy king-size beds. Even a phone in the bathroom. A full-service restaurant and bar is connected to the lobby. Locals come to eat here. Get ready for this -- a made-to-order restaurant breakfast is included with the room! I was blown away. Plenty of selection from the room menu or you can order off the regular menu. The quality is better than Denny's, Village Inn, or IHOP. Wow! Loved the pancakes and the hot chocolate. Everything tasted great. $50 of restaurant food comes with the $110 room – like it's free and no extra charge! I'm serious. Time to give the waitress a big tip. Dinner the night before was nice as well. Unbelievable. I cannot fully explain how outstanding this is for a Best Western. Yes, there is a great catered buffet at the BW Steeplegate Inn in Davenport, Iowa. By comparison, the rest of the Best Westerns have an ok hot breakfast. But this one knocks your socks off and is miles higher than everything else. Why isn't this a Best Western Plus?
Overall this is a really nice place to stay. I loved the breakfast which was served in their restaurant. Did find the A/C-heat controls very confusing. No directions and had to work to figure out how to get cool air. Also shower head was strange - shoots spray all over or you get a thinner stream if you adjust it. But the room overall is really nice - had a divider door so you can close off the sink and shower from the beds, two nice comfy chairs to sit in as well as comfy beds. Overall a nice place to stay.
Quick check-in which is appreciated when you have been on the road for a few hours. Beautiful room, great large king bed suite for a great price. Good location, close to restaurants and the park. We had our service dog with us and had absolutely no problem checking in. When I stay at a Best Western, I know I will have a very nice room. I don't have to ask to see a room before check-in.
We especially liked the complimentary made to order breakfast from the restaurant inside the hotel. Also, access to your room on a one level property with your car right outside your door is a huge advantage, especially when you have several bags to bring into the room. Very nicely furnished rooms.. Clean and comfortable.
We had stopped here at the last minute and the room was excellent. Very clean and full of additions, sofa, desk, fridge etc; The lounge bar for an evening meal was excellent, the food was very large portions and the service fantastic. The lounge got lively later in the evening too. Excellent breakfast service too. Again friendly and efficient staff. Not much else in the town so it really is a stop over to somewhere else but you couldn't wish for a better place to stay. Everyone connected to the hotel was first rate.
Best Western Dunmar Inn is a conveniently located off I-80 and a gateway to Yellowstone. The property is large and could be great place to meet, if you have a family reunion or business meeting in Wyoming. The property has a true Western feeling to the property from staff wearing Western clothes when you check in to displays of wildlife in the area and posters of Western films. Load of conveniences onsite - restaurant, lounge, and banquet rooms near the entrance of the hotel, plus plenty of parking.
After our long 12 hr drive we looked online and quickly booked this room and the price was under 100 dollars which was less than the BW we stayed at the night before!! The guy working the counter was very nice and saw that we were in a uhaul so he gave us a room in the back area so we could have plenty of room for our truck! The room was large and clean! Nice room!!! We had made to order breakfast and I felt it was all a good stay !
A very relaxing and quiet place to stay with a terrific restaurant attached. Easy in and off the interstate and very pleasant staff. An older Best Western but nice grounds and lobby and rooms and clean and comfortable.
Very quiet Beds were comfy Overall Id recomend it to everyone But wished they had kept the Off Track Betting Great value for a best western Food was good Staff was very good Overall We had a great time in Enanston
The staff were outstanding, the rooms were like a low grade motel 6. For the price of the rooms I should have stayed at the motel 6. The restaurant dinner was horrible, my wife could not eat hers and I could not finished mine. We both ended up racing to the bathroom. We survived the night, however, the breakfast was very good, it must have been some bad food from last night. The rooms were in need of a remodel and the facility itself needed a face lift. It reminded me of a hotel we once stayed ay in Los Angeles. We are BW gold members, but we won't be staying in this hotel again, unless they renovate and change their dinner menu and price rates. It's unfortunate, because all the other BW'S we have stayed at were awesome. Thumbs done for this one.
Amazing Service! Staff super supportive! Food really good. Everyone went out of their way to make my stay comfortable & welcoming. I would be happy to go back to theDunmar. I will only stay Best Western because I know I will get great service & have very satisfying stay!!
Last minute stop, during a last minute trip, I was completely amazed at the whole visit. The desk clerk was very friendly and speedy for check in. The room , while a little dated , was very clean and well kept. Any return trips I will stay again!
It was getting late and we needed a place to stay the night. We started seeing many bright colored signs on the freeway for the Best Western, which may or may not be valid. Watch for them and believe them!! This was a welcome relief from a long drive. Kids were swimming in the pool, families were having fun. After we checked in we drove to our room. A huge, huge property. You've park your car outside the door to your room just like old times. The room was large and very clean.
This hotel is amazing ! The foyer area has life size bears and other stuffed animals . Really lovely friendly staff. Rooms very pleasant and comfortable . There was everything we need for a good night's sleep. Outside doors with parking right by your room. There is a very attractive water feature in the front of the hotel and loads of picture opportunities inside and out. Free breakfast is sufficient although the choice is not too varied. highly recommend this hotel and will be back !
We pulled into this hotel after a long day on the road and were very pleased with what we found. Nice spacious, clean and comfortable room. Restaurant on premises with adjacent bar with entertainment. Every employee we encountered in the entire complex was friendly and helpful. Recommend this establishment and would stay there again if in the vicinity. Give it a try!
This is a nice, clean, and affordably priced hotel. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. They allow pets and have a nice bar and restaurant. The staff was very friendly. If you're on the road and need a nice place to rest this is a great choice.
Large rooms, a bit older in design but comfortable and clean. Pet friendly AND clean. Stuffed Grizzly in the lobby along with a few other stuffed wild animals was interesting. Plenty of rooms in separate one story buildings so it's a large campus to walk around.
The rooms aren't new inside, but there's so much else to like. Clean, great people, and a little something different. This is a motel/hotel property, where you drive up directly to your room. That's convenient and the area feels really safe, which is sometimes a problem with that arrangement.
Very best motel in Evanston. Have tried the others and found them very lacking. Will stay here whenever the need arises. Staff helpful and friendly. Rooms very nice and comfortable. We did not try the breakfast as we woke up late, however the previous visits they gave you free pancakes at the restaurant which I did not eat, being a diabetic means that other items are better suited to my diet. Good restaurant though.
When I travel, I like to have all travel arrangements made ahead of time. My schedule changed and I stopped at this hotel with no reservation. I was just looking for a place to sleep before hitting the road again. I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. I could tell that the hotel was built in a different era, but the upgrades and renovations were nicely done. The room was updated and fresh. Best night's sleep I had on that trip.
The motel is in close proximity to the freeway, and is easy to locate. Quiet location and roomy clean rooms. Motel staff was professional and gave us good information about another restaurant in town that served food different than the restaurant on site.
Only problem we had was with the A/C...it was very noisey. We ate our dinner there...It was very and lots of food for the price. The free breakfast was not very substantial. There was 3/4 item to choose from. You could purchase additional items if you wanted..
When travelling between Southern Idaho and Casper, Wyoming, this is a convenient stopping point. The rooms are nice and clean, well furnished. Tends to be a bit more expensive than nearby Motels, but does have a somewhat nominal Senior discount.
This Best Western is a great value. Clean room, good service, good location, and excellent breakfast included for a great price. Room surprising quiet being near the freeway. All single story rooms where you can park right outside your door.
For less than most hotels along I-80 my room at Dunmar Inn was like a suite - spacious living area; very comfortable clean queen bed - great bath and easy parking. Staff in restaurant - busy, busy and friendly
Probably the worst motel experience I have ever had. The travel ratings were high, but once you get past the nice lobby and restaurant, things fall apart quickly. This 1940s-era property consists of many single-story buildings space around several acres. The outside grounds away from the office are either dirty or in dilapidated shape, or both. They have started to re-surface the extensive blacktop areas, which is sorely needed. The rooms have been updated, but with the inferior-construction exterior, this was of little help. Specifically: * The door did not latch from the exterior, and I realized this too late to change rooms. I had been out twice not realizing how vulnerable my room was. * The floors and walls were so flimsy that you could hear (and feel!) every movement from customers in adjacent rooms. The floors were uneven in places and squeaked. * Not a clean place. Musty odor in the room that got into my clothing. * Coffee packet did not fit the coffee-making appliance in the room (how hard can it be to order the right coffee?). * No bathroom fan. * Room was nearly 1/4 mile from lobby/restaurant, with no direct route. This place was a maze! * Only one wastebasket. Needed 2 or 3. * On the positive side, there was a good refrigerator/freezer. Regarding the "Made-to-Order" complimentary breakfast, this really was a limited menu option with one of five choices. You'd do better in a regular complimentary hotel breakfast as far as quantity is concerned. DON'T STAY HERE!
On our annual family hunting trip with two elderly family members and after we unloaded the car we noticed that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. Floor and tub had hair & dirt all over. Staff said they would move us but not after unloading and driving 12 hours. Cleaning staff had left for the day by 5:30. She had maintenance man come in and do his best. They should have some double check rooms. Very disappointing.
Looking for a place east of SLC and found beautiful Evanston, WY with a great suite and restaurant. Would go out of my way to stay there again. Bed and amenities much more than expected. Great value. On site restaurant gave big serving of prime rib w/salad bar.
The hotel staff bent over backwards to help us. We originally booked at another hotel and explained I have allergies to any fragrances. That hotel did not honor that request forcing us to find another hotel. All hotels in Evanston sprays fragrances in their hotel rooms. The Best Western staff helped us find a room that had not been used for a few days and the fragrance had dissipated. The room was very nice, the restaurant although a little pricey had very good food. I would stay at this hotel again.
after visiting national parks, looking for a good value? This is your place! Very large hotel, single story, which was great for loading/unloading car. Beautifully clean king room w/ sofa, chair, desk, micro, fridge. Every little amenity you can think of, along w/ a free order off the menu BF. Were bilked near Yellowstone for overpriced crappy hotels, so this was refreshing!
This is the second time we have stayed at this Best Western Hotel. We liked the single story arrangement of the hotel and not having to climb stairs or ride elevators. And we liked the way the breakfast was served in a restaurant.
We always stay at the Evanston Best western the rooms are very clean, beds and pillows so comfortable. Front desk attendants are very hospitable. They do offer a free complimentary breakfast in the restaurant. The only downfall is they do not have a coffee bar or lemon water in the hotel lobby which for some travelers is terrible. You must wait until the restaurant opens. For me I don't like the room coffee packets. I prefer liquid creamer and I rather walk to lobby and get coffee or lemon water at anytime. They should look into offering this at least until 10:00pm. Very beautiful landscape as well
Excellent staff with well groomed property and best bed of our entire trip. Looked at the Super Eight up the street but they would not honor their published price on the internet, soooo 100% of 0 is 0 which is what they got. The breakfast was in the restaurant off the menu and was free and probably would have been at least $20 elsewhere so kind of takes the sting out of a slightly higher price than the Super 8 also.
We picked the Dunmar Inn on our return home from a cross country trip as we know Best Western is pet friendly. On receiving our room keys, we went to the room only to find the door was opened and it had not been serviced and was full of garbage. We were tired and had been on the road a long time by then, but trooped back to the front desk. No apologies or concern, but we were given the keys to another room. The room was pleasingly clean and the beds were very comfortable, but as a mom/daughter traveling alone, we had concerns with the drunken hotel guests. One particularly rowdy group was using a desk chair with wheels to roll down the parking lot incline. We noticed police arriving and consulting with hotel security, so we assume maybe that was taken care of. In the morning there was broken glass all over the parking lot. We got food to go from the restaurant since we had a dog in the room and didn't want to leave him unattended. The restaurant staff were friendly and pleasant. The food was fine, and there was a lot of it; neither of us could finish our dinners. Breakfast was included, but the food was pre-selected and didn't allow for substitutions even with an allergy.
Value for stay. Parking is at front door of hotel . Location is close to freeway. Area well lite and safe. Friendly staff. Military and Government guest friendly. Allows pets in rooms. Have stayed at this location at least twice a year for past several years during vacation trips. Never had any problems.
Nicely appointed room considering the age of the BW. However with an exterior entrance it was quite noisy for awhile with people talking for long period of time in front of door. The bed was comfortable and the shower had hot water. Did not like the fact that one had to walk about a block outdoors to get to breakfast. The breakfast menu was pre-selected with no substitutions. The food was tasty.
It was so nice to stay at this hotel. The lobby is like a museum with a small shop for the ladies. We really liked that their restaurant was attached to the hotel. The food was great. The room was clean and spacious. We would highly recommend this hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at the Dunmar Inn. The rooms were clean but were a long distance from the building where we checked-in. The restaurant is also in the main building next to the check-in desk. Actually all the rooms appear to have outdoor access. There are several buildings in the area that have a lot of rooms, but it is a long walk outdoors to eat the restaurant. The benefit is that you can (hopefully) park in front of your room door. Again, we feel the restaurant is the best in Evanston and has a salad bar. Also, Wally's Burgers is across from the Dunmar if you just want a burger.
Good, clean, basic room. More like a motel with all rooms having outside door on ground level. Large complex, like a maze, signage for 700 series of rooms on the side of bldg blocked by bushes so a bit hard to find. Bkfst included but not a quick in and out, sit down at restaurant.
Clean and comfortable lodging accommodations. Broad breakfast menu assortment cooked to order from a menu listing. Age of property is older but well maintained. All personnel are friendly, accommodating and service orientated. Will plan to visit this property again on future travels.
Our stay was short but enjoyed every minute. The hotel staff are always friendly. The breakfast selection for the guests is perfect. The décor inside and out are breath taking. The waterfall at night was so beautiful. This is a hotel where you can stay for business or leisure, and either way you are always cared for and made sure that everything was perfect. The beds are to die for! So comfortable and relaxing. The size of the rooms are amazing! I like that you can block off the room and the restroom area with a screen for that extra privacy. A MUST stay for anyone of any age!
Good Clean Hotel. Had breakfast in the onsite restaurant that was included in the price. The menu was reduced from the full menu for breakfast but was still very good and had a lot of choices. Only down side was the service was a little slow the second morning at breakfast. We weren't in a hurry so it didn't matter but they were very busy and could have used more waitress's.
We enjoyed the stay at Best Western Dunmar Inn in Evanston, Wyoming. Everything about it was pleasant, clean and we didn't want to leave but we had responsibilities at home. Thank you to all of the staff!!!!
Nice property with very helpful staff> Restaurant, lounge and , pool are good and it's easy walking distance to anything else you might need. Rooms are clean but could use some updating. Fitness room is in desperate need of updating.
Quiet as hell. Comfortable....Can't beat the beds. 100 bucks. Free gigantic breakfast. And walking distance to pawn shops and porn theatres. What more could you ask for? Loved it. And I'm still writing because TA won't let me stop because it has to be 200 characters. Lame
I have stayed at this particular hotel several times in the past while traveling cross country. When I arrived, I was not impressed with the staff. She was not at the desk when I arrived. Once getting to the room, I felt that it was not as up-to-date as it once had been. Also, I felt that the room was not really clean.
This facility is arranged very well with parking right in front of your room. The people that work there are very friendly and very helpful. In fact, after we left we realized we had left an item in our room. We called the desk and told them what the item was. They called housekeeping, found the item, called us back to tell us they had found it, and mailed it to us. That is what I call great customer service. The room was large, quiet, and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Our only disappointment was the free breakfast. The food was good and the portions were adequate but we are used to a buffet where you can choose from a large array of items and can eat as much as you want. In this facility you have to select from a menu with limited choices and the portions are what the restaurant. Even with this minor item we would recommend this facility.
The buildings of this hotel may be older, but all of the furniture and furnishings of the rooms are newer with the exception of the air conditioning. Staying here in the beginning of August, our Air Conditioning unit was pumping out air but it was still warm air even though the temperature was as low as it could go. We had a room with two king sized beds. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was clean; although the room smelled very strongly of cleaner when we first walked in. The room itself is pretty narrow, so there isn't a whole lot of extra room to walk around; and if you sit at the desk nobody could walk past you to get to the bathroom. We only stayed for one night, and we had to call to ask for more toilet paper because we were given two pratically finished rolls to begin with. We ate dinner at the restaurant on site which was less than stellar. The food was just okay, and the service from the staff was almost entirely non existent. Because this location has a restaurant on site, breakfast is a sit down and order situation instead of the buffet. We opted for McDonald's breakfast instead, seeing as none of us felt good about the previous nights dinner.
Our travel took us from Colorado to California. The BW in Evanston was approximately halfway. We did not expect to find such a treasure of a hotel. The BW is right off Interstate 80. The check-in and check-out was effortless. The stay was perfect. We enjoyed our one night there. The staff was super accommodating.
Great we have stayed here before, alway pleased. Quite, clean and very accommodating. Plenty of parking and good food. Room are large and plenty of room for luggage. Left camera one time and they held it for us until we could arrange to be back to pick it up.
First off, I was happy to have my state employee status recognized by this motel with an excellent rate. So many motels don't offer state rate or actually try and charge you more. The whole property is a total throwback and not necessarily always in a bad way. There are literally HUNDREDS of rooms and it is arranged in the old "motor court," Route 66 style, where every room is a walk-up and all the rooms are clustered in several different bungalows. The front desk staff were super friendly and helpful and check-in was under five minutes. The room was old school too, but clean with some necessary modern upgrades. The heating/air system was weird. There was an old, wall mount A/C/Heater on an interior wall that seemed to run all the time but didn't do much. Then there was a window A/C that had a bearing going out in the fan so it squealed very badly. I ended up turning it off while I slept. The rooms were super quiet and a comfortable place to relax. It just sucks that the pool/hot tub seemed like a half mile away from the building I was in. If you are bringing kids, request a closer room. Finally, breakfast was different... It was in the back of the main restaurant. I checked in with a rather snooty receptionist, gave her my room number and she crossed me off a list. Then I was given a menu of breakfast entre choices I could order free of charge (except I tipped my waitress). The breakfast was excellent. My only complaint is, when I go to a motel with "free breakfast" I like to eat and make a quick getaway... This turned into a half hour deal, no different than going to a restaurant. Also, don't stumble down to breakfast here without some cash, that is unless you want to stiff the excellent waitress that waits on people hand and foot.
We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It initially seemed a bit pricey for a little town with many hotels, but there were many events (car show, brew fest, Main St festival, start of the fair) in town, so it was reasonable. This hotel consists of single story buildings around a few courtyards, so you park right outside your room. It seemed fairly large, with a restaurant and lounge in the main building with the office and front desk. Though the decor and furnishings were a bit dated, they were all in excellent condition and the room was very clean. Nice bathroom with a good shower, plus a clean and working refrigerator. Beds were better than average. It really seems like they care. The front desk attendants were friendly and courteous. We would definitely stay here again over any of the other options in town.
Sandra was amazing in helping us out after finding out our reservation had been canceled by a third party. The cancelation was in no way the Hotels fault but she went out of her way to help us and made sure we were able to get a room there for the night.
Very good value for money. Hotel is older but of very good quality. Restaurant service was very good also. Liked the ability to partition off the room; living area, sleep area, bath area. I would recommend this hotel to others. When we return home we plan to stay there again
Great place, would advice anyone staying in Evanston should stay here! The room was large, the grounds welcoming and staff friendly. We were pleasantly surprised. My husband said this should be a destination place. We had been on the road for ten hours and this was a welcome ending point.
Very clean hotel and rooms. The staff was courtesy and helpful when we checked in. Enjoyed having a delicious restaurant in the hotel. It was a treat to have breakfast in the restaurant and have it part of our room fee.
Great hotel, Nice clean rooms. Three different prices in three stays all within 5 weeks. Service in the restaurant for breakfast depends on if you are friends with the wait staff. Last breakfast was cold and almost uneatable. Waitress went missing after dropping cold congealed eggs on the table and running away.
Best Western has a reliable brand and I expected clean and comfortable. What I found was a well landscaped property with beautiful art and sculptures. The beds were very comfortable and the quality of the linens and pillows were excellent. This was even in a pet friendly room as we had our dogs with us. Breakfast was not buffet but offered a complimentary menu selection. Great find during a long cross country trip.
Great sleep at quiet motel with clean, comfortable room and outstanding bed. Retro layout of motel in modular units with some grassy areas good for kids and noise buffers. A/C in room is with old unit somewhat hard to control (might be noisy for some). Picked this hotel in large part because of the raves about a "cooked to order breakfast" in the attached restaurant, but very disappointed. Hotel guests are given menus different from other guests and then allowed to choose from a limited numbers of items which qualify as the free breakfast. Service was slow, delivered by obviously capable, but overworked individuals who were covering large numbers of tables. Stopped tracking time from sitdown to food after 40 minutes. Hotel is great, but don't count on a great breakfast to help offset the cost of the hotel. The free fruit "available to hotel guests" at the restaurant was also wiped out. Would likely stay here again, but look for food elsewhere.
Very nice. Good bed and wonderful room. The room was quiet even in spite of a party going on next door. The attached restaurant served a fine dinner and a great breakfast. I have no complaints. The convenience to town and surrounding areas was very helpful.
Excellent large and clean rooms and the service is superb. Great food and service in both the restaurant and lounge. Friendly and helpful staff throughout the motel. Always a pleasure to stay at this motel.
Super nice staff, beautiful lobby, lovely grounds, complimentary grab and go bags, clean and nice exercise room, great complimentary breakfast, sit down style in restaurant, clean and nice bathrooms and lounge for night life. Loved our family stay there!
Every time we stay here, it just keeps getting better. We love the fact that the pet rooms are so close to the nicely maintained pet relief area. The room is huge and comfortable with a sofa and coffee table, microwave and mini-fridge. The free breakfast, which used to consist of pancakes only, now offers a wonderful selection of both hot and cold choices. My French toast and bacon were cooked to perfection. This is the only place we would ever consider staying in Evanston.
I found the room in poor condition. Both windows were broken in such a way as to allow access to the room from outside. I did not feel safe or secure in the room. The phone was not operative either. When I asked about dining out they did not provide any information just said their restaurant was the best in town.
This was an interesting motel, first I waas somwhat taken back by the huge stuffed bears in the lobby ... but the staff was very friendly. The large number of rooms are scattered around the property, you drive up to your room. This was the first motel you could do this on a 24 day trip. Reminded me of the motels where we use to stay. The room was very nice, clean and the bath was very adequate. The breakfast was also different, as they have a full bar & restaurant within the motel. You get a menu, when you check in, and then pick your breakfast items the next morning. We weren't real hungry when we arrived, so just ordered a couple of appetizers from the bar ... the gentleman, (think his name of John) was extremely friendly, and I can recommend the fried dill pickles ... yummy!
The Dunmar Inn is a very unique place to stay. The Inn reminds me of a Rt 66 motel because the Dunmar Inn has over 700 rooms spread out in several grouped "court" areas. Our room was comfortable/clean/nicely furnished. The steakhouse connected to the office(Legal Tender)offers a nice menu with a modest but tasty salad bar. It is also were breakfast is served with the Inn guests invited to order off the free breakfast menu that offers several items. The office lobby is very western with a stuffed/full sized grizzly bear & a small but nice gift shop.
On our way to Denver we chose to stay at Best Western Dunmar Inn in Evanston, WY. There is not one negative I can say about our experience. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was so comfortable we asked where we could purchase the same, we were not alone as there was printed info available on the exact type of mattress in their rooms. Breakfast in the morning was complimentary and was delicious. Careful attention to details throughout and we noticed!
the place was very nice inside the room. clean and comfy. bed was great. Breakfast was awesome!! friendly staff. easy to get to off the freeway. it was very quiet . we had a great experience for a traveling stop over.
We were helping our son move from Golden, CO back to California WITH his dog. BW has pet rooms and dogs can be up to 80 pounds unlike some hotels with a 25 pound maximum. We had a kennel for the room or the dog could have slept in the car but our son got a pet room. It was just a little on the pet-smelly side but what can you do? I'd suggest a tile floor. Our room was in the back and was neat as a pin and quiet. Never a problem at this Best Western. Chelsie checked us in quickly and with a good sense of humor. Thanks staff.
Clean and comfortable. Great breakfast. Perfect home base for hunting adventures. We happen to be passing through on business but plan to return for an elk hunt this fall due to finding this perfect place to stay and hunt from. I am very picking and was at first put off by its outside appearance, but ended up being pleasantly surprised.
Nice , conveniently located hotel but the smoking room really reeked of smoke even for a weathered smoker ; the breakfast is rationed , i.e. you get served one plate of your choice and it does not have yogurt, oranges apples bananas are very plentiful and good quality, they also had granola bars to go.
We found this motel to be very clean, very quiet, and quite comfortable. Being one story, there was not the possibility of having upstairs neighbors stomping around. The restaurant was a plus, short walk to eat, and the fresh cooked breakfast for free was a huge plus. We would stay here again.
The room was clean, nice and comfortable. The parking lot is surprisingly secure, parking is outside your front door. Rooms are spread out and the grounds are well kept. Bed was cozy, room was spacious. Internet was acceptable although it wasn't as fast as I would like. Restaurant was nice although the staff seemed to have a lot going on to tend to you in a timely manner. Over all the room, restaurant, and experience was nice. Worth the price I paid and I will return if ever in the area again
Second time I've stayed here on my way from west to east. The dude who checked me in was great. We chatted about golf. And when I got to my room, he called me to let me know what local channel the Masters was on. I could tell that this is simply how he operates and it's just typical of the great service at this place. He could easily have not given it a thought.
The staff was friendly and the rooms were nice and clean. This is an older property. When traveling through Wyoming there a long gaps between towns. This is definitely a good place. They also take dogs.
An excellent motel layout with parking outside each door and no upstairs to listen to walk arounds. Very quiet room. Bed comfort is outstanding making one desire to sleep in as long as one can. Staff is friendly and efficient. The breakfast selection that comes with the room was greatly improved from the last time. I got the biscuits and gravy with potatoes and milk and juice. Served fast and I was back on the road. Will stay again...and again,
We stayed here on the return to home leg of our Grand Canyon journey. Excellent accommodations. Very large room with a sitting area. You park your car outside your room so very convenient for loading and unloading. Super comfortable King size bed. Very large flat screen TV. Free WIFI..Shower and bathroom are separate from the sink and counter area. There is also a privacy screen you can pull between the bathroom, sink and counter area and the sleeping area for privacy. Clean. Refrigerator. Breakfast included. We would totally stay here again.
Nice room. It is always clean and in working order. Decor and television also nice. I really appreciate having a microwave and refridgerator in the room. They have improved their breakfasts and always have some fruit on the counter when I'm on the go and don't have time to go to their restaurant. Main complaint is the shampoo. I always try to bring my own because it makes my hair feel really coarse.
We had shied away from Best Westerns for a while, but have had nothing but great experiences again. The Dunmar Inn is a bit older, but kept up very nicely. The room was great and the beds were extremely comfy. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow, however. Overall, we would stay there again.
They do not have the fastest service but it is ok to stay for a night. It is located on the business loop which made it easy to find. Friendly staff but it seemed like they were short handed in the restaurant for having enough servers to cover the amount of people in the restaurant at one time.
Motel was very dated - carpet old and room smelled very musty - like it had not seen any fresh air in months. Room was not clean and carpet was very old and in need of replacement - downright grungy would be a good way to put it. Mattress was also old and very soft - will not stay here again. Over priced for the 'experience'. Restaurant also left a lot to be desired - ordered a bison burger and I've had better burgers at Burger King.
It was late evening when we started to look for a hotel. We found the room to be clean and comfortable. I liked the layout of the hotel and enjoyed the quiet of our room! We didn't eat breakfast, but would stay at this hotel again!
This is a little older property but the rooms are completely adequate and comfortable. We asked for two queen-sized beds but it turned out the rooms had king-sized. They were very comfortable! The rooms have refrigerators, microwaves, and a one-cup coffee maker. Vouchers are given for a limited but full breakfast in the dining room - a real plus. Cable TV is very basic.
Was here for a convention and found it so comfortable I brought my family back for a Celtic music festival at the roundhouse. Only regret is its not walking distance to downtown. However, I enjoyed being away and out in the quiet. The motel is well kept up and was well satisfying.
What a room! This hotel is extremely deceiving. You can park your car right outside your room, the room was massive. The reception has stuffed animals. We had a nice breakfast. I thought I had paid for the hotel prior to attending, however, I was wrong. The GM was very calm and professional about the situation and I would like to thank her for her attitude, has it was me that was in the wrong. We strongly recommend staying here.
We go snowed in so opted for Best Western. Feels like old home as I have stayed here in the past. It is nice to have a restaurant nearby on this cold and wintery night. Room is clean, and for the first time in my numerous hotel / motel stays, there are 2 suitcase racks. Might seem small but it is indicative of the little nicities of staying here. The one caveat is the front desk attendent. She is as helpful an friendly as a mashed cat. I guess you can't have everything but I do believe that BW business could be enhanced by either schooling her on civility or showing her the door. Other than that, thumbs up. Just don't expect much service once you get here.
When I saw the exterior of the hotel I thought the place might be a little on the older side. It does, in fact, look like it has been there for some time but the rooms have been updated and are very comfortable. I was even more surprised by the breakfast that was included with the room. If I need to stay in Evanston again, I'll definitely consider this place again.
I stayed here on a one night stop-over on my drive from Chicago to Idaho. I chose this hotel because it was the highest rated pet friendly hotel in the area, and I was not disappointed. The room was exceptionally clean and quite large and the bed was very comfy. My only complaint would be that the check in desk staff was not very friendly. They weren't rude, but they just seemed unhappy to be there. When I entered the lobby there was a gentleman behind the desk speaking to another guest. He looked at me but did not say hello or even smile. Another employee came out and asked if she could help me.. again, no smile. She was respectful enough, but in no way was I made to feel welcome. I travel 2 to 3 times a year for work and I'm accustomed to being greeting with a friendly smile and attitude, so this experience was just a bit off-putting.
We have used this property several times during our travels from Denver to Boise. Good value and great people on staff. The attached restaurant is very good, the service and food are above the norm. I also like that the property is a drive up door design. Old School....!
One of the best hotels in Wyoming! I travel throughout Wyoming and the surrounding States and always look forward to a stay at the Dunmar Inn in Evanston, Wyoming. I always have a clean, quiet, comfortable room and am greeted by professional staff. The hotel is in a unique and relaxing setting. I've found this hotel to be a good value for the money and would recommend staying at this hotel to anyone.
The check-in was easy. I had no reservation. The room was pricey ($120) for the area and age of the hotel. The room was very clean, even the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. The was a fridge, microwave, loveseat and chair in the room with a king bed. The AC is a window unit. The TV is at least 48" and flatscreen. Free Ice. Quiet area. Lobby is warm and inviting. Breakfast is included at the onsite restaurant. But you can only pick certain items. Overall, decent place and very friendly staff.
I have booked this motel 5 times in the last few years, and service, food and room cleanliness have been consistently excellent. The staff will accommodate your requests, and the restaurant has a menu selection to suit everyone's tastes--even allowing special requests at little if any charge. (I had active grandchildren with me this time, who were treated with special care by. Thanks for that.) Rooms are quiet, and there is ample room for parking large vehicles.
My husband, daughter, son-in-law and I stayed at the Dunmar Inn overnight when attending a viewing and funeral in Randolph Utah. We found it to be clean, comfortable, in good repair. Our room was away from the highway, so was very quiet. When we discovered another family member was staying there too, they adjusted our reservation so our room was near theirs. We had a nice complimentary breakfast at the adjacent Legal Tender Restaurant. The staff at the hotel and at the restaurant both were friendly and helpful. We would stay there again if the need arose.
2 separate room;plus dressing area, bathroom.Living room had large flat screen, bar, and plenty of seating.Separate king bedroom had large spa tub and it's own flat screen.Bed comfortable. In room Wi-Fi worked well.Since room towards back of property and away from main thoroughfare, quiet.Upon check-in, received coupon good for coffee&pancakes in onsite restaurant. No problem "upgrading" to a more complete meal.Computer in lobby provided access to print airline boarding pass.
This hotel was fine for what I needed, which was just a place to sleep while I wasn't working. The Restaurant might be the best place in town to eat. I was disappointed in the service at the lounge. Waited over 20 mins to have someone even greet me.
This hotel is in a convenient location and is pleasant. I like a traditional motel layout where I can park in front of my room door. I like the real breakfast; guests get a coupon for some standard restaurant breakfasts rather than a little room with a blaring TV and machine-made eggs. I really only had two negatives, one tiny and the other significant. I wish the sink stopper worked. I shave with a blade and would prefer a sink of warm water to rinse the blade rather than running the water. This sink drained so fast I just had to keep the water on. The other problem was the mattress, which was too soft on one side and unpleasantly soft on the other. The wi-fi worked well, and the nights were fairly quiet.
Fountain is mesmerizing at nite - love the reception staff in western costume - spacious, comfortable room layout - pillows and bed linens make oversleeping desirable! - intown location convenient to all activities and eateries as well as being easily accessible from interstate - visit the nearby buffalo and elk in park practically in town !
This hotel was a single level, probably built in the 50,s. Rooms wound around, back and forth, up a mountain. The floors were so unlevel, it made me dizzy, seriously! I couldn't wait to check out. It was clean, but very dated. Ancient building!
Nice people, nice clean large rooms, great food in their dining room. Free big breakfasts. They accept pets and have a grassy area just for them. If you have stayed with them before...they have all your info....fastest I have ever checked into a hotel. We look forward to our next trip thru.
The staff was very helpful and the waitress in the dinning room was very attentive even though she was suffering from Laryngitis. The Staff member that checked me in was very friendly and helpful. Thank you all for a great stay.
Had a non smoking King. Breakfast coupon for the on site restaurant. Large room, very clean, quiet and simply a great value. Restaurant is a bit pricey for what is offered but convenient. It"s a, " my Mom would love this place," kind of place.
This is an old style single story, spread out motel. It's nice to have you vehicle right in front of your room and no one above you. When it's raining it's not quite as convenient to get to the attached restaurant. Room was comfortable and clean.
Price was the biggest factor...I thought the price was high for the off season stay as the price went up $10 since last year. Could have stayed at another hotel for much cheaper price buy I like Best Western but now will reconsider based on the price increase.
