"Nice Motel"

A good Best Western. Clean room, Lots of room in the bathroom. Close to good places to eat. they are very close to the local Harley Dealer ( if your a Harley rider). The cable in this best western was the best of our entire ride, we stayed at 6 BW on our trip.

This hotel was adequate - the room was large and well-appointed, and the bed was comfortable, which is the most important thing. The breakfast was plentiful and had lots of good options (but it ends at 9 - it would be nice if it could be open until 9:30 or 10 for later risers). However, I had an unfortunate experience with payment. When I checked in, I told the front desk person that I intended on paying for my 3-day stay in cash and offered to pay immediately. I also gave her a prepaid credit card to cover any incidentals. She told me it was not necessary to pay immediately, but that I could pay upon checkout. Upon return to my room after the first day, however, my room key would not work. I went to the front desk and was informed I had been locked out due to non-payment and had to pay upfront for the entire stay. Hello? That's exactly what I had offered to do upon check-in and was told it wasn't necessary! The whole thing was easily straightened out, but it was an unnecessary inconvenience.

Reservation made online. Upon arrival was promptly greeted. Check in was flawless. Room was a king. Plenty of room. Microwave and mini fridge worked well. Bed was comfortable. Hot water was plentiful. Breakfast offered nice options waffles, egg, bacon and variety of cold options. For one guest staying one night the facial bar of soap was adequate. As was the one set of towels. Checkout was quick.

My mother and I pulled over to sleep after driving 24 hours on July 26 2018. The front desk staff was extremely nice both at check in and check out. Beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean and we were able to get some sleep to finish our traveling. Would definitely recommend!

Popped in at 10 pm without a reservation and checked out the next morning. Room was comfortable. Check-in and -out was easy. Breakfast was not fantastic but included in the price. It was steamed eggs and sausage with choice of yogurts, cereals, muffins, etc. Slept well.

We stay in the Chambersburg area quite often and decided to give your location a try. First issue, check in time is 2pm, we arrived at 3:15pm, room not ready. Did some sightseeing, returned around 8pm. Room was nice upon entrance, king room with a whirlpool, clean. Next issue, toilet won't flush completely, maybe just a one time thing, go to bed. Third issue, next morning 7am someone is weedeating at our room window!!! Toilet still isn't flushing properly or at all! Report this to the front desk just to be told to wait for the manager to come in at 9am! Called customer service for BW to no avail and still waiting for a call back from the manager at the Chambersburg PA BW location. Very disappointed with Best Western!!! Unacceptable in all ways!!!

We were looking for a decent & clean room for a quick stay while on the road. We had been driving for 12 hours and were really tired. Chose this hotel based upon TA reviews. We were not disappointed. Rate was very reasonable ( $80/night). Check in was fast & friendly. Room was spacious & clean with some updates. Bed was super comfortable. This hotel is located within walking distance of some restaurants. After being in the car all day it was nice to take a short walk to dinner. We would stay here again. It was perfect for our needs.

We have stayed at this Best Western many times and never had a problem. This trip-when checking in the front desk person was short tempered. The room smelled like smoke(non-smoking room). We had 7 adults and two kids eating dinner in the breakfast area around 10--front desk lady came over and rudely told us we had to leave there were guest sleeping. We were not loud and would have left after eating-we just wanted to eat as a group. She also could of asked a little nicer. As we were going to leave she goes over to the trash can where we had put our trash and demanded that someone from our group take the trash out to the dumpster.

The room was clean, recently renovated (I love that Best Western is putting tile or wood floors in their renovated room instead of carpet!) and much less expensive than the surrounding hotels. The breakfast was really good and the staff were all very helpful and courteous.

My 2$10 dollar BW travel cards mysteriously disappeared at front desk after giving them to female clerk at front desk at arrival and told they were applied. The morning of check out they charged me full price. Noticed this in my car and returned to inquire . Guy at desk played a game like it's not there and finally said there is only $10. He said he will credit to me only to charge an extra $20. After replying to review of premises i wrote the manager female only to have nothing done .I was totally ignored. Problem was resolved only after complaining to Master card. Guy in next room was screaming into phone at 11:30pm. Complained to front desk and nothing was done , screaming went on till 1 am. Will never recommend this place.

Best Western continues to be a good value and a good choice. The staff is helpful and friendly. The room is always comfortable and clean. I cannot say how breakfast was at this hotel as we got on the road before it was available but usually at other hotels it is a very adequate breakfast.

Remote was difficult to operate/understand, but the front desk young lady was extremely helpful. The hot break fast was very good and the attendant was very helpful. The checkin and checkout were smooth and the clerks were great!

My wife and I where traveling home from our vacation and looking for a place to stop overnight. We came along this hotel and decided to stop. We were greeted at the door and able to get a room. The room was lovely, but the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. The wifi worked very well and the breakfast (free) was great. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

You will hear everything your neighbors do and they will hear you. This is an older facility being run by an Indian family. WiFi was initially OK but as more people checked in, it became inadequate. A better WiFi system needs to be installed.

Love the free breakfast with bacon, sausage, etc. - and love the soft sheets this chain uses. I stay nowhere else. And the prices are always competitive. Always clean, the staff are always helpful and courteous. I'm a Best Western convert!

The receptionist slowly checked us into the best western. We were given a room on the ground floor. The room was not “homey”. It was clean and a good size. The bathroom was clean and a decent size as well. The tv and A.C./heater worked well. The breakfast in the morning had a large assortment of options.

Pleasant staffing, rooms are nice sized and clean. They're located on a convenient side road with easy access to the interstate , shopping and dining if you're just passing through and easy access to the town if your business is in Chambersburg It only took me 25 minutes to Gettysburg

We had a comfortable stay at this Best Western location while returning to Virginia the weekend after Thanksgiving. I booked the room when I was about an hour away from the destination by using the toll free Best Western number. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, found the room to be clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious, especially the biscuits and gravy.

always available from north to south, clean and friendly, lots of restaurants close by walking distance. Good hi speed wifi in room. Prices are competetive and value is great. I would recomand it to friends and family when traveling south to florida easy to find and always satified, great value including breakfast with choice of items such as eggs sauciges, cereals, juices coffee etc...

On our way home to Canada at the end of 2 week vacation. Hotel staff was excellent, friendly and kind. Room was very well appointed, all linens were in good condition. The hot breakfast looked very good although we were not abke to stay to enjoy. Would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here a year ago, and could manipulate the ventilation system so the fan ran all the time and provided white noise. Could not do that this time. I could actually hear the person in the next room snoring, not to mention coughing periodically and talking at 5:30 a.m.. Additionally, there was lots of noise in the hall that came in under the bottom of the door. Sleep is the first requirement of a hotel/motel, and I slept very poorly. And will avoid this place in the future.

We arrived at the LQ next door, w/o a reservation but we weren't worried since we were. “ gold “ status members . Nay nay said the desk clerk/mngr, can't help you. Maybe you can try back in 5/6 hrs. Then we stumbled into Best Western next door and met KRISTI ! She was was polite, professional and very concerned for our welfare. Also a thank you to C D Patel for such a warm welcome. We had a very pleasant stay , great room , excellent breakfast. Leaving we realized anywhere we stay at LQ, there is probably a BW nearby, our new “ go to “ place.

Very well maintained older inn --very nice rooms-nice in room hot tub--plenty of hot water.. Inn is in a great location to visit Gettysburg. Lots of nearby resturants-- Easy on and off to I-81.Very nice staff. Good breakfast..Plenty of parking..Felt safe at this hotel.

This is a nice, one-story Best Western. The outside of the hotel is nothing to write home about, but inside, the lobby and rooms were spacious and very clean. My bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, there was plenty of hot water in the shower, the towels were good, and while the TV was a little difficult to figure out, there was an OK channel selection. Though the telephone representative described a "continental breakfast," which to my mind means Danish and doughnuts, the hotel offered a full, hot breakfast, as good as any Best Western.

We enjoy stopping here when we travel north. We can walk to restaurants- when it is light. Avoid rooms on the road side . They can get very noisy, particularly with trucks on 81, The breakfast are constantly improving.

The room was very clean, but there was some kind of dryer or loud machine that ran a few times overnight in the room next to me. The guys at the desk let me know about it, but with no other rooms available I had to take it. And, the room wasn't discounted any for a problem they fully knew about. If you know of a permanent issue then the room should be cheaper permanently too!

Stayed one night traveling south. Clean room but lacked lighting and was noisy in the early hours with doors slamming. Breakfast was fine with enough options to satisfy most tastes. Staff was friendly..

quick trip to town from out of state for a vehicle purchase. we needed one quiet night's lodging with dining within walking distance. checking in and out was easy. even with the nearby freeway, our room on the back side was absolutely quiet. staff was professional and courteous. breakfast was average. would stay again without hesitation.

This hotel provided a comfortable and clean place to sleep. Parking, easy access. Check in was quick and easy. breakfast was wonderful, constantly restocked and also supplied with Soy Milk and Almond milk for those with allergies was a huge blessing. Beds were comfortable and no trace of any bugs of any kind. Bathroom was clean with new shower head. a great hotel.

We were looking for a good place to stay for several nights within our budget. The location and price were good and we felt comfortable due to the Best Western name. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the friendliness of staff was exceptional. The breakfast was about what we expected for the price - sufficient choices, hot and cold with scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon and a waffle maker. The attendant was extremely helpful and attentive. We were very pleased; no complaints at all.

This hotel could use some upgrades to it's interior to freshen it up, but the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The small pool looked nice although I did not have time to use it. The breakfast increased the value. The desk clerks are not well informed or helpful, especially at night. Okay for a quick stay. I wouldn't use it for a vacation.

Very nice hotel. Good service and a great breakfast that included eggs, biscuits, bacon, sausage and a number of breads with coffee, teas and cereal.. The rooms were neat and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is a major reason we always stay at Best Western.

I had no reservations so took my chances and I had a great experience. Even had them book for me at another Best Western at my next destination. Joined their REWARDS program. Great breakfast, very nice and clean room! Just stay away from the shelf stable bacon at the morning breakfast, unless you like rubbery bacon.

Stopped around 8 on a Tuesday night when heading south. The front desk person was very pleasant and the check in experience was very efficient. There are a number of restaurants of various types close by and convenient. The rooms have been re-done recently and found them to be fine for an overnight stay. Room was clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was decent, Easy on and off route 81. Would certainly stay here again when traveling.

Nice hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful and facilities were great, no issues at all. Highly recommend. Exceeded my expectations. Very convenient for highway travelers. We stay at BW almost exclusively Nd this was one of the best.

Very reasonable rates with a full wholesome breakfast. Very clean rooms. Just stayed over night whilst driving through. will definitely stay again and recommend the same to other drivers. My family was extremely satisfied with the hotel.

The check in at the hotel was easy and quick. It was closely located to dining, and other stores you might need. The room was clean, bed comfortable, and they served a wide variety at their complementary breakfast. We would stay again.

We are very satisfied with this Best Western. The room was very clean and the best was very comfortable. It was only about half an hour away from Gettysburg where we had come from after the annual bike week. We were surprised that hot breakfast was offered. We will definitely stay here again.

Booking with Expedia and check in @ the motel was easy and quick. The room was clean, bed comfortable, water was hot, water pressure was fine, towels white and fluffy. Breakfast was excellent with eggs, sausage, waffle maker, usual cold cereals, fruit, danish and nice hot coffee. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Recommend staying here. Easy on and off Rte. 81

We were very pleased with our stay, no complaints. The hotel is newly renovated and there is an outdoor pool. We stayed here because we were in a softball tournament nearby. Perfect with breakfast beginning at 6:30am, and the AC was working great on the hot day. Our room was comfortable and perfect for our family of 4 stay.

Easy to find hotel and close to anything you would need. good breakfast selection in the AM. we were very happy with the comfort and cleanliness. we chose to stay here because of its close proximity to Gettysburg, and were not disappointed.

Great location, very nice staff. Had terrible house cleaning service. I will see how they rectify it. Could get 5 rating depending on how they compensate for not cleaning my room. Loved everything else about this property.

Although a late night arrival, desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Already had reservation information ready for us expecting our arrival. Lady in charge of breakfast was very nice and pleasant. Nice room and very clean.

Nice hotel and a good value. We had a king bed suite on the first floor and it was very nice and clean. The staff was friendly. The free breakfast was good. Location was great and it was only about 20 minutes from Gettysburg. Restaurants were close by. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Perfect spot for us to stop. Near restaurants, just far enough for our trips North/ Wish the fan in the bathroom did not come on with the light. The motel seems to have more improvements each time we stop.

I have been impressed with Best Western hotels over recent months. They have done a great job in updating their rooms and lobbies, offer better than average complimentary hot breakfasts, while continuing to keep their rates reasonable. As I was traveling with many valuables packed in my truck on this trip it was important that I was able to park in a safe and secure lot. The parking at this hotel is well lit within view of of the front desk. I have stayed in the best hotels and resorts in the country so I know quality. You can spend a whole lot more and still fall short of the experience offered by BW today.

Not very easy to get to off the Interstate Highway. You can only enter and re-enter the hotel from the main entrance. The cleaning products used leave a very distinct odor. Although they are pet friendly, there is really no place to walk your pet. Breakfast was average and standard items.

My husband and I stayed here 1 night on our way south from NJ. We needed somewhere near the interstate and we weren't concerned about things like wifi or breakfast. Safety and cleanliness are always a concern for us. This motel provided very well for both safety and cleanliness. It's old, and dated but clean. The bathroom was clean and the linens felt fresh. The carpet and the furniture also appears clean and we were not uncomfortable. The room had a mini fridge and a microwave, and an iron and ironing board, which I didn't expect. Our room was on the side facing the road and it was a little noisy at times. The pillows were hard and flat (the only really bad thing about the place), The breakfast was continental and average for that, but we knew when we booked that was what they had. So I don't hold that against them, and we weren't concerned about getting a meal there. The man who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful, it was about 10pm. 6am the next morning he was there still and had breakfast set up and just as pleasant and friendly. In fact he appeared to going around the property and checking things out, which left a good impression on me. I would stay there again and feel it was worth the $.

The room that we had was across from the ice and vending machines so it was a little noisy being I am a light sleeper. Next time I will ask for a different room. Other than that it was a overall good stay.

Stayed her this past weekend while attending a conference at Wilson College. This is a no frills lodging, but was clean, and well maintained. The free breakfast was good, slightly above average. One bonus, all rooms are on main floor so you do not need to deal with stairs or elevators.

Have spent several times at Best Westerns always found the room super clean bed comfortable. From the staff at check in time to check out have been most accommodating. Breakfast was always good just needs a few more items, like yogurt and x-tea juices.

This hotel is fine. It's conveniently situated near restaurants, shopping and I-81. The room was average. We felt like the fitness center was unusable. Our room was just off the lobby, so it was a little loud for my taste.

I posted a review on the other site. The fitness center was lacking, the water fountain in the lobby was not working, there was no chair for the desk in my room and the eggs and sausage for breakfast were of poor quality and the coffee maker was not working.

This hotel is a great place to stop. Great exterior and interior. Very clean all common areas and rooms are great. Check in was very nice and the personnel very helpful with places to dine or go shopping witch are close by. May be fine minutes. Rooms are complete with microwave and Frig. Beds are very nice and we slept great. Breakfast area is great with a big variety of hot and cold items. Had a great stay.

This hotel is a great place for me because I have friends in the area. It's very clean, well run and the price is excellent! The only sore spot for me is the breakfast, but the one offered here needs to be improved. The orange juice was excellent, but the food was not.

You can get lucky on rates if you take the time to shop around . I found this Best Western through Hotels.com and a $65 rate . Nice, clean, great location, free hot breakfast . Only negative , every machine in the fitness room was broke or needs batteries changed . Not to worry as you can always walk outside .

We were passing through from Albany, NY our way to NC. The room was very clean. The breakfast offering was pleasant--coffee, waffles, eggs, bacon, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. The location is right off of 81 with many restaurants and stores in the immediate area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was quiet as was the hotel and we were not concerned for our safety. It was a pleasurable stay.

Convenient location right off 81 for our one night stay on the way to SC from Albany, NY. Very helpful in accommodating 90 year old disabled mom too. Professional friendly staff and reasonable rates. Great cafes, diners and pizza places in the area. Chipotle and Panera too

My wife and I were headed back north and chose to stop in Chambersburg for the night. We chose the Best Western as it was pet friendly and modestly priced. The hotel was easy to find, Tony at the front desk was very helpful and went out of his way to be supportive. However the biggest and nicest surprise was the hotel. It was updated a year ago and our room was very impressive for the price we paid. Breakfast was nice, but the room was as nice as a lot of Marriotts I've stayed at over the years. The only drawback was the noise from the highway - Rt 81, but given the location, that was not a surprise. Another upside was the number of local restaurants available in the area. You will not go hungry in Chambersburg. I would recommend the Best Western to anyone traveling in the area. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we did.

I selected this motel because of its location on our route and that it allowed pets. I was pleased to hear the person checking in, in front of me, had stayed there before. When I checked in the clerk could not have been more helpful or personable. Additionally the pet fee was very reasonable. My wife commented on the pleasant lack of cleaning solution odor, though the room was clean and smelled fresh. My only frustration was the lack of brewed coffee. I am not a hardcore coffee drinker, but I like a fresh cup of coffee in the morning. The coffee at this motel came from one of those machines, and it tasted like it. We dumped our coffees out at the next stop.

Check everything upon entering room. Service is great, people very friendly. Could possibly use a better room inspection checklist, as 2 things were not working. Or maybe a check once a week, since appliances and lamps can break.

We do not have coffee pots in our rooms if that is the appliance you are referring to. We have the one cup machines that you just stick your cup under. We do have bulbs at the front desk that we would have been more then happy to bring to your room, also there is a switch in the room that needs turned on for the desk lamp.

This was an average hotel. Not fantastic, but a safe place to stay. There was no front desk staff for all least 5 minutes when we arrived and when she did show up, she said she had to run off and do something else. That took another few minutes. We had a $50 coupon which she did not know how to apply to our room charge and told us to have the morning staff apply it. She was fairly new and it was obvious she should not have been on duty alone. The walls were paper thin, we could hear people talking in other rooms. The strike plate on outdoor was loose and the door had problems shutting tightly. We always stay at Best Western Hotels, but I highly doubt we will stay at this particular one again.

Nothing particularly distinguished about this Best Western. It is an older motel, but well-maintained and up-to-date. My Queen room also had a couch and coffee table. Heater/Air Conditioner had constant fan, which I prefer, and worked well. Staff was pleasant, breakfast was about what you would expect. I like Best Westerns, and this one was fine.

"Good Value Near the I81"

We booked 2 rooms at this location using Air Miles. The property is handy to I81 and easy to find. It is within walking distance of a number of places to eat. Property is a bit dated but the rooms were clean. The only 'problem' we had was that our first two rooms were the smoking rooms. Although this is a smoke free hotel these rooms stunk of stale cigarette smoke. Looking at the doors there were no 'no smoking' signs so it would appear that although the hotel is non smoking people did smoke in the rooms. Not a big deal we went to the desk and got 2 new rooms that were more than adequate. The beds were the best we had slept on in 10 days of traveling. Soft but not too soft. Rooms were very clean and the bathroom had ample clean towels. The walls are very 'thin' so if you are a light sleeper this might be an issue. The breakfast was typical breakfast buffet, the only complaint is that there wasn't a good selection of fresh fruit but everything else was more than satisfactory. Would stay there again.

Stayed here one one on our way from South Carolina to New York state. Glad to get there after a very long day of driving. However it was below our expectations. It w as average at best. The hotel is old and the decor is dreary and depressing. The room had a couch (sofa bed, I guess) that looked very worn and dirty. I've seen better put out at a curb. The towels and washcloths were dingy and thin. The carpet looked questionable. The lobby didn't' look welcoming and was dimly lit. The treadmill in the fitness room was falling apart (the edge of the treadmill was falling off). The treadmill itself didn't work properly as it would suddenly speed for no reason. The only reason I didn't give this hotel lower rating was that the staff was very friendly at the desk and the breakfast was very good.

Woke up to hopper that would over flow if flushed. Went to front desk told clerk and he handed me a plunger to fix it myself. Not what I expect at BW Hotel. Have never had a problem like this happen and was a little upset over what happened.

We stayed in room 111 which had a king size bed with a very comfortable mattress. It was a large room with a sofa bed, a very large TV and two bath room sinks. The breakfast was plentiful, which included, scrambled eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, waffles, etc. The lady kept it clean and well stocked. This property was very close to several good restaurants and shopping. We would stay here again.

We chose this hotel based on price and location, right off 81S and 30. It worked out very nicely for us, conveniently located near shopping and restaurants as well as the highway. The room was clean, the staff was pleasant and helpful. Tony checked us in and when we couldn't figure out how to get the TV to work was there in just a few minutes to help us out. Free breakfast in the morning was great..scrambled eggs, make your own waffles, cereal, muffins, etc. We thought the coffee was great. Overall good experience would recommend and we would stop there again if back this way.

We chose this hotel because of the proximity to Gettysburg and the easy on/off of the freeway we needed to use. Abdul was helpful at check-in, our room was comfortable and large and our breakfast good. The only problem we had was that the walls were thin and we could hear the man next door snoring.

"BED BUGS"

DO NOT STAY HERE. I found bed bugs in both beds in my room. Showed these to the front desk manager, as well as took a picture, and was given a new room. The new room had pubic hairs on the sheets. I had been driving for over 10 hours that day and literally did not have the energy to go anywhere else, so I toughed it out (though barely slept) and bagged up all clothing that I took into the room and took the recommended precautions for bed bugs. Thankfully, the bed bugs did not follow me out of Chambersburg, but I would do yourself a favor and not risk it! On top of this mess, the hotel said they would give me a discount on the room (after I requested a full refund), but they have not done so and will not return my calls. Again, DO NOT STAY HERE. DISGUSTING.

After ripping the bed apart and tearing the headboards off the wall, they were unable to find any signs of any kind of bed bugs or any other bugs. We needed a place to stay as our stopping point for the night and this hotel was just right. We chose BW since I am a rewards member and a plus is the breakfast that is included in the price. You do get eggs, sausage, etc. which only certain hotel chains offer outside of the usual continental breakfast. The only problem we noticed was that we did hear the person talking on the phone in the room adjacent to us. There are several places to eat which are within a mile and even a short walk to a Texas Roadhouse restaurant which the hotel will give you a coupon for 10% off.

The room had a door that was hard to lock. The room was near where employees gathered to talk and it was very noisy. I did not like that there was not a TV listing to help you find stations that were not info stations. We enjoyed the coupon for Texas Roadhouse which was in walking distance.

This is a very nice hotel and we were very satisfied with the entire experience. The staff was very nice and also very helpful. The location is perfect and it's close to a variety of restaurants. We especially liked that it has an Outdoor Pool! We are not fans of indoor pools and never use them. This hotel is also close to Hershey and Gettysburg, and the breakfast was delicious! We will stay here again when in the area.

For those on a budget this is a good choice. Complimentary breakfast was good but check the times cause it ended earlier than other places I've stayed,l made it just in time. Cable TV selections were good although my stay was too short to enjoy it much. Small pool but looked clean didn't notice it till after I checked out. I would use it if I stayed here again and I would stay here again if I was visiting this area of the country.

I had a great stay here! It was home away from home for a week while I was in town on business. Very clean! The one day the cleaning lady thought she forgot to clean my room before I got back from work so she came by to check. IMPRESSIVE! I have stayed several places where they wouldn't have bothered. But, oh my! The VERY BLUE accent wall... Lol! It just didn't seem to fit... Maybe a darker blue or a tan color... Maybe some decorations to break up the blue. Friendly staff, greeted me every time I walked through the door. Even thought it was just a "Hi" it meant a lot to be seen. Great job guys! Thank you so much for the hospitality!

We stayed here on our way back home to NJ from Florida. We travel with a dog and trail a boat. The staff was so friendly and accomadating to us. Welcomed our dog, guided us on safely parking our boat, and ensured we had all we needed. Lobby and rooms are extremely clean, and breakfast was good. It's directly off the highway, well priced, easy to get to, and plenty of stores and restaurants around. TIP...no liquor stores around...stop before you arrive, if you need something.

This is not the "Ritz-Carlson", but it is a nice, clean, comfortable hotel, cheaper than others in the area. Some of the carpets need some cleaning, but otherwise the hotel was very clean. Also have a good hot breakfast with quite a few breakfast options from sausage and eggs to cereal. A nice place to stay, and a good value for the price.

We have stayed at this Best Western yearly for my Grandson's Birthday weekend in the past. This year, I booked 3 rooms for family members besides my husband and myself. We were all located next to each other. The rooms were very clean and stocked with plenty of towels. We couldn't find an additional blanket though. The free breakfast buffet was excellent. There was the normal hot and cold beverages and pastries, but also scrambled eggs, a waffle machine and bacon. We would stay here again. The staff was incredible. I wish I would have gotten their names.

Excellent customer service! Very knowledgeable staff. Easy check-in/check-out~ KAREN you rock! Had all the answers + for this out of town guest! (The overnight guy was very helpful as well and worked damn hard at setting the breakfast up!) Big breakfast choices+ Pool was perfect+,Clean room & comfortable bed but did not appreciate housekeeping just walking in at 9:30a w/o knocking first! No other issues to mention and we a very pleasant weekend stay! Shall return! Thanks!! Rm134 (could have used more parking spots designated for handicap over the weekend as all were filled and motorcycles took the two spots right out front, but wasnt too much of an inconvenience this stay)

Stayed here because of location, Decent room not overpriced, hotel is somewhat aged, however I did notice a guy installing new carpeting in the main hallway so maybe they are starting to renovate, room smelled slightly, poor lighting, I had every light in the room on and still not enough light to read without opening the window curtain, water pressure was a problem in the shower, and the tub filled with water while showering, they need to clear the drains. Close to highway yet pleasantly quiet. Staff was friendly, I will give this another try next time in area because it looked like they are starting to renovate.

We recently stayed overnight at this motel to attend a local family reunion. The first thing I noticed was the main entrance. You need to PULL open both sets of doors. This is very unhandy when you are dealing with bags and other personal items. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Some of the concerns we had was the lack of normal amenities in the room --- no body lotion, no shower cap, no tissues (Kleenex), etc. The only items provided were a small bottle of shampoo/conditioner and a cake of soap. Also, only two wash cloths. Nice things: a refrigerator and easy parking. This is a one-story motel; so you don't need to worry about steps or elevators. The hallway showed signs of maintenance being done --- with mirrors and various types of items sitting around; but I suppose that can be expected. This Best Western was okay for a one-night visit. The nice thing is we got to see a couple of dogs; because they do allow dogs to stay over as guests and we are all animal lovers. In the morning there is an area for eating a self-serve continental breakfast --- coffee, waffles, cereals, sweet rolls, scrambled eggs, sausage and fruit. Nice and convenient; and included in the price of the motel.

Hotel is under renovation, but the lobby and the breakfast area are done very high end. The breakfast had many selections and there was room to move, you are not crowded in a small room with all of the other guests grabbing breakfast. Convenient location to 81 and to local amenities. This hotel is easy to find and undergoing a nice renovation. It's clean and fresh and the bed was super comfortable. They didn't have "hot" breakfast during our stay and the shower was only luke warm but the stay was nice for the price. Make sure you check the hotel website for the best price.

This particular location has new management in place they are working very hard on changing the way the outside looks the inside looks and rooms are very well done was very pleased with how clean the room is. the only negative that we did find was with the shower curtain there was mold still on the bottom of the curtain that really needs to be addressed.

I'm not sure how this hotel earned a 3 star rating. The room was clean and fairly quiet. Other than that nothing was outstanding. I have never waited that long for a person to get to the front desk to check me in, and It was only at 8:30 in the evening. The room heater/air rattled that load it woke us up throughout the night. The TV remote took a while to figure out and there were no instructions with it. The mattress was old sagging to the center. The food at breakfast was good after waiting about 10 minutes to get it. Next time I am in that area I will pay $25 more to get better service at another hotel.

While tis hotel is well situated off the I 81 it is under renovation. Basic cleanliness is OK but there was trash behind the telephone table, the sink pipes leaked onto the floor, there were old burn holes in the sheets and blankets and the Direct TV is a pain to use. This is generally a noisy hotel (both guests and traffic from the highway). The breakfast was OK with some hot items and the usual cold items. Tea and coffee were available 24 hours per day. This is a pet freindly hotel and there were lots of dogs (although they were quiet). The area around the hotel is good for a walk with or without a dog.

"Lackluster Experience"

This hotel is a poor example of customer service and hospitality. We arrived to check in around 7pm and the woman at the desk was on the phone which is fine, but we were never acknowledged. Simply asking the other line to hold for a brief second and introduce herself and apologize for the wait to us would have been more than fitting. Instead we were ignored for quite a while. Then when explaining how to spell our last name and who was in our room the clerk was clueless and rude to us about it. Next we got into the room and the disappointments continued. I've stayed here previously and the hotel was under renovation then and over a year later they still are. The rooms have a god awful looking blue "accent" wall in the bathroom and the bedroom with rustic colored bedding, curtains, and flooring. This doesn't match and looks very last minute and out of place. There is no mirror above the sink, and there were little black hairs and BOOT PRINTS from a subcontractor in our shower. On top of this my coworkers room was just as disappointing and contained mold in the AC unit. You could smell it when you walked in. There must have been mold in my room as well because I could not stop coughing all night. The pillows were very flat and the bed was repulsive with black stains on the "protective" sheet. The real kicker is that my coworker's room had a door that didn't work. The hotel was unable to change the batteries or use the magnetic box that every other hotel is capable of doing. The hotel tries as the breakfast attendant was very nice, but the food was sub-par. We also saw one of the attendants just quickly dunk silverware into hopefully hot soapy water and quickly air dry it and put it back on the line. A change in upper management is needed if they think charging $109 plus a night for a place like this with no amenities is a good business model. I've stayed at many Marriott properties for less and have had much better service.

Robert R, I would like to apologize for the renovations that we started in December. Some rooms are missing the mirrors above the vanity but all rooms still had the long body mirror. The rooms are still waiting for the curtains and the bedding. We do not pick what colors go up. Next year when you travel everything will be 100% complete and we would like to see you again.

I stayed on this hotel during a business trip. This hotel is definitely not a 3 star hotel. Some refurbishing were going on during my stay, but I expect at least to have a mirror in my room in order to shave and make up.

I stayed here because I had stayed here in the past and liked the hotel. I was excited to see that the hotel is being remodeled, especially when I found out that my room was one of the newly remodeled rooms. I was able to get the last room at the hotel on the night I stayed. Unfortunately, my newly remodeled, nonsmoking room reeked of cigarettes. It smelled as if the hotel didn't even bother to try and cover the smell up. I'm sensitive to odors and did not have a good stay this trip.

Parking at this location is atrocious! Small lot, with small places. Great for a Rambler American, or a VW beetle, but tight for an Escape or mid size. If you have a pick-up or other full size unit, it is extreamly tight! Rooms? They were so-so. Breakfast? I've had better

"Very disappointing visit"

I've stayed here a number of times over the past year, but this last visit was probably my last. The bed was like a rock, and made my back ache something awful. I had a room facing Walker Road, which parallels Route 81, and there was road noise all night. And the TV didn't work. They have these fancy Direct TV remotes that freeze up and you are stuck with one channel until you get someone to come in and fix it. The plusses? Most of the staff is pleasant. The place is clean, despite the long-running renovation, and breakfast is OK. But I need to be able to get a good night's sleep - that's a priority for me. I will find another hotel for my Chambersburg visits in the future.

This hotel was under renovation but was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast items were extensive and good. There was no noise from construction at all and was very clean. I would stay here again if passing through.

"Awful beds!"

First of all, I reserved a room with 2 queen beds. Prior to arrival I received a call asking if I could switch to a different room. I was not given any explanation, but we did switch to a room with a king bed. By the time we arrived, I was not feeling well, so I went to bed. One could assume that I felt the bed was uncomfortable because of the number of hours I spent in it, BUT my husband also got a terrible nights sleep and awoke with severe back pain. The night before, when I was sick, I was trying to watch TV but could only get the Direct TV remote to work for one channel. We have DTV at home, so I am familiar with how it works. My husband and I tried everything and couldn't get it to change channels, although it would turn on/off. We called the desk and the clerk came to our room (REEKING of cigarette smoke!) and proceeded to show us that you have to be on the other side of the room to get the remote to work! The box was mounted on the back of the dresser! What?! Don't most people these days expect to be able to watch TV in bed without having to walk across the room to change channels? I mean we are in the 21st century, right? They are pet friendly but charge an additional $15 for the pet. Not the worse we've experienced, though. Just based on the uncomfortable bed, we will not stay there again.

If you were called and asked if you would be willing to move rooms it had something to do with the renovations that are taking place. I am sorry that you found our beds to uncomfortable. For the DTV we have the boxes mounted behind the tv to keep them from being taken out of the rooms. If the remote was not working it just needed to be reset by pointing it at the box, you would have not had to stand in the corner of your room to change the channel. I am sorry that info was not disclosed to you.

"Someone pissed in my toilet"

As a travel nurse was staying 4 nites a week for 2 months, until the morning of 12/24/2015, after working nite shift went to room fo pick up stuff and check out, some one during nite had taken a pee and god knows what else while I was working, the proof is toilet seat was up and piss stains on rim of toilet. Freaked out and grossed out never went back! No point management lives and works the hotel. As a female there is now way I put and left toilet seat up!

We have stayed at this facility many times to visit our daughter. It is an ordinary BW and not a resort or upscale place. It is clean, comfortable and has helpful staff. It is located, more or less, at the intersection of I81 and US30. And, it is very close to 81 which is busy road. Fortunately, the noise from 81, substantial outside, was non-intrusive in our room which faced I81,

While traveling to the Chambersburg area the Best Western is my choice for a hotel. It's always clean, the staff friendly and accommodating. There are a variety of restaurants within walking distance and the complimentary breakfast hot breakfast is a great way to start the day.

"Friendly Staff, Interior Could Use Some Updating"

I had an average experience overall at this Best Western. The hotel is in a good location and is near several good restaurants and shops. The strongest point to this Best Western is that the woman at the front desk was super friendly and welcoming and was very helpful. The actual interior of the hotel was ok, but I think that the carpets and rooms could use some updating/freshening up. Based on other reviews it seems like a renovation is in the works. It wasn't bad enough to not come back, but I think it would definitely help the hotel to at least install new carpets, and maybe some brighter/cheerier lighting in the lobby area. I was traveling with my dog and the hotel is super pet friendly and accommodating of pets.

Thankfully we had reservations before our trip. Soon after we were checked in, there were only three rooms available! It is next door to a "La Quinta" which is currently closed due to a fire. There was a nice cozy fire going in the fireplace when we walked in. Breakfast was really good, they even had sausage and biscuits, which made my husband very happy. The lady that was taking care of the breakfast area was extremely efficient. Everything was kept filled and very clean. Also, this hotel accepts pets. Renovations to update the hotel are being started next week, but the hotel looked great to us!

This place needs a makeover. The halls smell like smoke, the carpets and draperies should be replaced, and the AC is very noisy, but the area is quiet, and provides a great space to walk your dogs.The rooms are large. If the dogs didn't come first I would try another place. It does not come close to other Best Westerns I have stayed at for the same price.

Excellent service including very helpful staff and great accommodations. Parking is convenient. The breakfast food is varied and tasteful. The rooms have a microwave and refrigerator. The beds are comfortable and the other room furniture is comfortable and well appointed.

It is a good Best Western. The breakfast could be better. The gravy for the biscuit was actually chipped beef. The room was comfortable. Padding to fill out the review requirements. This length requirement is poor. I am typing this just to fill out space. I hope I have typed enough.

Our single queen room needed a little help but the breakfast was awesome and the breakfast area made up for what the room lacked. It was a great stop over on our way to NY. I prefer a softer bed, this bed was really hard and we only had 3 pillow to share for 2 people.

Very nicely located near I81 near a mall and great chain restaurants but away from highway noise. Price paid was good but beds seemed smaller than queen size. Fitted sheets kept coming loose, blankets seemed to slip off easy. The hotel staff went the extra mile to help me find a document scanner. Really nice people.

We just returned from an overnight stay in a suite. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The fold out couch was okay, my kids didn't complain too much about the comfort level. Continental breakfast this morning was great, plenty there to choose from. Our check in went seamless. The lady at the front desk was SUPER friendly. We needed an extra blanket and towel set and she was quick to get us what we needed. Very friendly staff overall, some of the nicest we have been around in awhile. Would definitely recommend staying here. Can't beat the price, excellent location.

Found myself in Chambersburg on business and I stayed at the Best Western. This is the nicest Best Western I've stayed at. Rooms, bathroom, halls and lobby were all very clean. No odd hotel smells. My room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My room was on the backside of the hotel and very quiet, no traffic noise from I-81. Great selection of channels on the t.v., microwave and refrigerator in the room. The breakfast was nice for a hotel; eggs, sausage, biscuits, chit beef gravy, waffles, bagels, cereal, etc... Lots of restaurants within a mile of the hotel. My only complaint was the walls were a bit thin, not too bad but I could hear my neighbors t.v. Quite well. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

After traveling most of the country, west to east coast in the past three weeks, we have stayed at many hotels/inns. This was The WORST !! As part of a hotel chain this is their embarrassment ! Front desk staff were more interested in going for a smoke outside, than of actually being any assistance. One of them was dressed up as a witch and hopefully she was just brought in for decorative "Halloween" reasons. As a front desk clerk, she seemed put out when we asked for another pillow, because the room was missing one. She told us she'd check with housekeeping and get back to us, then she got back to pigging out on Halloween candy. When we got back from dinner she told us the hotel was booked out and there were no more pillows. Then she got back to her candy ! The room was shaby, the comforter looked dirty and the bed uncomfortable. We were tired after a long day traveling but it was hard to sleep as you could clearly hear the people in the next room, and I mean clearly, like they were actually carrying on a conversation in our room ! They finally fell asleep, but were up at 5.30 chatting away. When we went to check out the front desk clerk asked how are stay was. I told her it was terrible, it felt like we were sharing a room with a bunch of other people, "there is obviously NO insulation in the walls", and I've never stayed at a hotel where you had to bring your own pillows. She must get alot of complaints as she didn't seem too concerned. There are plenty of other hotels in the area, DO NOT STAY AT THIS ONE !

Have stayed here many times before so we were looking forward to a good nights sleep. That wasn't to be. First room had stained sheets and mattress cover, next room noisy neighbor on cell phone, speaker at 7:00am, plus broken lamp, and lots of road noise. Quality has gone downhill since our last visit in 2014. Don't recommend.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this Best Western. This hotel is very nice, very clean, and the rooms are spacious. Really high ceilings makes the room feel even larger. We only stayed for one evening on our trip home from Florida, but I would definitely come back.

Newer hotel, with easy access right off the freeway. It exceed all our requirements for a restful stay on a long road trip, until it was time for my morning cup of coffee. I am encountering more BW hotels with these machines that provide what amounts to instant coffee. Horrible and undrinkable. bad way to start my day. This is a good choice for clean, comfortable stay. Just go out for your coffee in the morning. I do appreciate BW has been leading the industry in military discounts at all their hotels.

My wife and I stayed at the Best Western Hotel in Chambersburg, Pa which will also be our last time. Our room was not clean by any means. The on/off water knob was brown from crud, dirt was in the corners, big black marks on the love seat, some less than desirable blots on the arm of the love seat, the floor was dirty, the hallway carpet was filthy. The desk clerk was very sorry and apologetic. She was also very nice and the breakfast the following morning was very good. Would I recommend this hotel to others, NO. This is not indicative of Best Western hotels. This the only one that we have stayed at that was in this condition. We have had no problems when staying at other Best Westerns....

My wife and I came here to meet a college friend for the weekend... the location is central to many restaurants and stores... the front desk staff was very helpful and helped us with locating some of the better restaurants in the area. Our room was very clean and spacious... the breakfast was very nice as well and there was coffee available 24/7. I really enjoyed my stay at this Best Western! A very nice stay for a good price!

The hotel is in need of a face lift. The room was smelly of cigarette smell even though it was a non smoking room, in addition, a cat urine smell. Used the discount coupons from the Welcome Centre so I gathered that may be why we got this awful room. The carpet was so bad that you definitely had too keep your shoes on as I was scared to catch something. This Best Western should be skipped, not recommended.

The facility itself is fine. Our room was just in dire need of a refreshening, e.g. smelly from smoke, dirty stained carpet, bed comforter with cigarette burns. The breakfast was more limited and less good than comparables...not even a banana!

We stayed at this hotel as a block of rooms was reserved for a wedding that we were attending. I had called to make the reservation well in advance; with the wedding, we got a really great rate for a 2 queen non-smoking room for one night. As soon as we walked in the door, a friendly woman named Karen was there at the front desk to assist us. Our room was located adjacent to the front lobby area, which also has seating for the morning breakfast (which I did not know we got with the room- bonus!). At first, I was disappointed that we were so close to what would likely be a loud lobby later in the evening and early morning, but surprisingly, we did not hear much noise. That goes for the highway, too; though it is parallel to route 81, you do not hear any road noise once you are inside. This hotel absolutely allows pets, as we frequently saw 2 dogs during our stay, and heard a cat somewhere, but you wouldn't know it; we did not smell any pet odors at all. Our room had some miscellaneous stains on the carpets, but was very clean, and it looked as though it had been updated recently (nice linens, paint looked newer, nice TV, newer furniture, etc). The room also had a microwave and fridge, which we did not use, but it was nice that they were available. The cable selection was pretty good (though it took me a while to figure out how the remote worked) and wifi was free (need a passcode to get online). When we met up with friends later in the lobby/dining area to order pizza and eat, Karen at the front desk offered to turn on more lights for us (they dim them when the area is not in use) and she offered us plates, napkins and silverware to use from the breakfast area, which was super nice and unexpected. The dining area is open all the time for juice, coffee, and tea, another added bonus. When it is cooler out, turn on a gas fireplace for an added cozy touch. There is a small fitness center, though I did not have time to check it out. After we retired for the night, we slept very well- the beds, pillows, and linens were comfortable, and I scarcely heard any noise through the night, until well after we were awake. The breakfast was decent, with eggs, tasty sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, a waffle station, cereal, yogurt, and fruit... not a bad spread for being included with the room. Overall, we could not have asked for a nicer stay, and I admit that I was surprised just how nice everything was for the price that we paid. While not fancy by any means, this Best Western is the nicest I have ever stayed at, and is definitely a great value. If we ever are in the area again, I would stay here again for sure!

My stay was necessitated due to my husband being operated at the nearby hospital. The length of the stay was determined by the outcome of his operation and things changed on a daily basis. They were extremely nice about working with me even when it came to changing rooms due to booking requirements. On a previous visit for a Dr. appointment we had stayed next door at La Quinta and were disappointed with the staff and facilities which was the deciding factor when it came time to make the reservation choice for the period of the operation. There will be future Dr. visits and we will be making return reservations here due to their friendly assistance and accommodations.

Hotel is located just off Interstate 81 and easy to find. However, the hotel needs a thorough renovation. The beds are average...a bit on the soft side. The carpet was very stained. The included breakfast has enough items to satisfy a weary traveler. The staff was very polite and did their job well.
