Best Western Hotel Ambassador

After research, selected this hotel to visit friends over a holiday weekend. The selection was made based on the information available on hotel's website, including both the hotel's own descriptive text and photos: a "Superior" room including the optional breakfast was reserved. On the positive side, the hotel is in a good location within walking distance of a small outdoor shopping mall. This afforded us a number of shopping and restaurant options. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet offered good variety of both hot and cold items. Our room was clean and comfortable. On the negative side, despite what is advertised on the hotel website, it does not have a fitness center, spa or foreign currency exchange; fortunately, there was a Sparda Bank branch within a 5-minute walk. Our room lacked air conditioning, a telephone, iron/ironing board, radio or mini bar. This was disappointing to say the least. Had these amenities been available as advertised, this would be an easy five star review. I included these comments in a survey I received from Best Western.

A very clean and tidy hotel in a beautiful green surrounding, great for nature walks. Our car broke down durin our trip were helped by the extremely kind Daniela via phone booking and at the reception. They even helped us with carrying all our luggage and our 2 little cats in the hotel. We had a peaceful, spacious room. It has not been a planned stop for us, but it has turned out to be an experience we'll never forget. We advice everyone to stay at this peaceful and friendly hotel.

Room was clean and big enough to accommodate a family of 4; plenty of towels too. I wish we could've controlled the a/c in the room - it was too warm. The mattress is extra firm which I did not like. Parking garage is tight if you have a sedan or larger. Location is great….Aldi and Rewe are steps away.

Stayed here on 20 September 2019. We were warmly welcomed by lovely, caring staff and were hopeful of a happy night here. However, our room was not very attractive, it was cold, smelt of smoke and had no Wi-fi connection. The walls were thin and we were kept awake by noisy guests....also there was virtually no view out of the window, just more windows. However, the food was deeelicious (they have a good chef here), the room was spotlessly clean and, as I said previously, the staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough to help us in every way. Really wouldn't like to stay here again and so cannot recommend.

We stayed over night on our way from Northern France to Sweden. Nice spacy Room with a large clean and well functioning bath Room. The 3 course dinner was ok and the beer was good. The service was friendly and good. We can absolutely recommend this hotel for a stop over. We did not have time to investigate the suroundings.

The hotel is well placed, not downtown but within easy commute of wherever one may need to go. The room is spacious and very comfortable, I'm traveling solo this time. There is a restaurant which serves dinner from 1800 hrs, the meal was delicious.

The location of this hotel was very good and it was in a quiet location and near the police station and a cinema complex and supermarket and felt safe. They have reasonable parking which we were charged 3Euro.50 cents per night for. The room was adequate, I didn't like the condition of the bathrooms one bit. Quite dirty and mould on the silicone and poorly capped off old faucets. There really is no excise for this sort of thing. Such basic stuff. Particularly the mould marks on the wall were very off-putting! The bathroom was very poorly refurbished and at times I felt like I was in a hostel, not a room that cost 120 Euros for a night. What I will say was that the breakfast was excellent. There are so many options to choose from these days that there is no way I would consider this place again. There are a couple of other hotels in the Kassel area that are definitely superior. Give the other hotels a try!

I stayed one night. Desk clerk won me over with free beer voucher on check in! Prices were very reasonable in bar and restaurant though we walked to dinner. The staff was very friendly and efficient- they make the property! Rooms are spacious and good beds. Facility is a bit dated and layout could use some renewal.

Not a fancy hotel and its location is a bit far away from the most well known touristic attraction but it offers you a friendly environment. All staff is incredibly kind and the rooms, although are essential are clean and cozy. Plus the breakfast buffet is very rich of choices and the food is very good.

We were here for 2 nights and had an exciting trip as we flew here to meet my husband's bone marrow donor! SUPER clean and amazing service. I was very surprised at the breakfast...it was a full out restaurant! I had to double check this was the free breakfast included with our stay as it was so nice! Service in the restaurant was meticulous, clean, delicious crepes, excellent coffee. Out of all the hotels we stayed at on our trip to Munich, Innsbruck, and Italy this was the BEST breakfast of all hotels. I loved the area as well it is right near a grocery store and neat shopping! WOULD definitely come back and stay here when we visit our new friends in Germany!

This is one of the hotels that you can hold a decent business meeting at. Rooms have all technique you need. Rooms are ok, breakfast tastes good and so does the food. However, the food smell spills to the lobby, something that is not so nice. Considering this is not even Kassel, it is ok.

Well located, and friendly staff. Room very good, breakfast excellent (cold dish choice outstanding by any standard), dinner menu simple and served in bar area - restaurant used for breakfast not utilised in evenings (but was used for a wedding function). Hotel is convenient to the Volkswagen plant (transmissions etc - and the second largest VW plant ) so is used extensively by visiting dealer personnel attending training courses - so mainly solo occupancy. A visiting coach party from Denmark also made an impression - none spoke German or English, so no interaction with anyone else! Hotel is modern, clean and would stay again when visiting our friends in Ersrode. We did not have time to visit the town itself, and onl a little of the surrounding area - very scenic, being close to the Harz Mountains.

I have stayed in this hotel in the past since 2005. I visit relatives in the area so it is a great location for me. They have a great breakfast which is included in the rate. A very helpful staff. I have no complaints for this hotel. The only complaint I have is an American I like bigger and thicker pillows which in Germany they have the thin and flat ones. Unless you stay in a more upscale hotel that is what you get.

The breakfast and breakfast area were the best things about this hotel. Other good things were the spacious room and the small Aldi store across the street where bottled water could be purchased inexpensively since there was no bottled water provided in the room. The bed was sufficently comfortable. The in-room internet was free but painfully slow. The wi-fi definitely needs an upgrade. If there are spaces open, parking is free in front of the hotel. If not there is parking in the basement garage for a fee.

No air conditioning - hot summer. Clean bathroom and rooms. Interesting rich variety of breakfast delicacies. Strange fees and charges for internet connection (see photo of hotel instructions). We asked for quiet room. We've got noisy room with loud air conditioning machinery working on the other building.

Don't missunderstand me, the Hotel is Clean, the food is good, but the place needs a full update from scratch. It just look too old. When you go to Europe, usually you search either ultramodern facilities with all amenities or a place basic, familiar with old wooden floors and things like that. Here the staff is nice, services are ok, but you feel traped on the 70's in no good way. What I want to share is no bad option, but only if you have reasons to stay there. In fact from my last trip it was the only (and rare) place where they gave me a welcome drink. It has all the basic features, and breakfast has more quality for what you pay.
