Resumen de la reserva
Urine and blood all over our sheets. Flies in the pool. Told front desk and he said he would take care of it. He didn't. This place is a disaster - stay clear.. u was absolutely shocked to see such a filthy hotel and housekeeping complacent. This was an awful experience
Staff was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable and understanding. Very helpful. No problem parking with a moving truck and car hauler.
The room was clean, the breakfast was good, and area kept up well. Three things I rate as zero are the security of the back of the hotel. People were putting a rock in the door so it would shut tight. Anyone could enter anytime!!! The WORST part was the dogs! There were at least 2 dogs barking almost constantly for hours. I called the front desk, the guy said "can I call my manager to see what can be done and I will call you back?" I said that was fine. However, he did NOT call me back. Nothing was done! If that wasn't enough, they have dog poopie bags outside the back door where we entered/left and the bin to deposit the used bags. Smelled just disgusting.
I am a repeat guest at this hotel. Always have a great stay and entire staff knows me well. It's a good relationship to have since there are other options in Alexandria.
There was urine on the outside of our toilet, dirt and garbage near the bedside table, visible dust on the coffee pot and bathroom fan. The railing in the pool was loose, and becoming a safety hazard. The bed was comfortable, but I would not stay here again given the other issues.
This place was not extravagant but it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast very adequate for the price we paid. Pet friendly which is a requirement for us. The staff was efficient and friendly- everything we needed on our trip.
Most comfortable mattress and pillows I have come across at a hotel in a long time! Clean hotel with a great breakfast! Hot tub was great. The enthusiasm of the guy that checked us in was fantastic!!!
Very comfortable stay. We enjoyed the pool area and the breakfast was delicious. I believe this hotel has recently been remodeled and updated. Still a work in progress but well worth the it. We would stay again in the future.
Bed are pretty comfy and the room is clean. The television control didn't work and it would have been nice to watch the news. As with most hotels there are televisions blaring out programmes in the breakfast room that no one watches and just means you can't get a quiet start to your day.
It was a short stay- but quite wonderful! Hotel is in a very convenient location, well maintained, clean and comfortable room, lovely staff. This would be my choice next time I'm in the Alexandria area!
Excellent location for access to many fast food and fine dining eating facilities, excellent service, good rooms, and complete breakfast included. The facility is located next to a Walmart and a Fleet Farm store with a Target store nearby. We always stay here when visiting relatives in the area.
We arrived tired from travel. We were allowed early check in which allowed us to rest a bit before meeting up with friends we hadn't seen since COVID. The beds were soft. I am used to a firm mattress but a had a onderful nights rest and no need to drag in or search for pillows. They were perfect. The breakfast surprised me. I consider sausage mystery meat but theirs was delicious. Turns out it was Cloverdale - local company. The staff were all kind and gracious. We will definitely be back. We didn't have enough time to enjoy the pool or other offerings but next time we will. Everything looked inviting.
There was a hole in the bathroom stuffed with toilet paper. Three greasy weird black/brown stains on the bed spread and the air in only our room was humid. Would have been more comfortable outside. Had to turn either keep the hall door open or keep the AC to 65 just to get the moisture out. The two staff we reported this to said "ew gross, ya that's not right" the first said "you should definitely report it to the woman coming in tomorrow morning." The woman the next morning said the same thing and ended with silence. Not making one step to compensate for the sub par accomodations. Do not stay here.
Middle-of-the road, good location, meh hotel. Pro: The front desk clerk was super kind and helpful at check-in. Pro: The room was clean. Pro: Breakfast was clean and had a few different options, though most were cold options. Con: There was a carpet nail sticking up on the edge between the carpet and other flooring. Con: The dresser drawers wouldn't stay shut. Con: The dresser had a piece of paper under it to keep it level. :D Con: The room was h-o-t, even with the A/C at 64.
We have stayed at this hotel many times. This time we found it very dirty. The pool and hot tub were unusable. There was used soap in the shower and hair in the bed. We checked out after the first night and went to another hotel. The problem appears to be lack of staff.
The staff was nice upon checking in, the location was great, the pool was warm and the hottub was perfect. The bed was comfy! The comforter was soft, the rooms were a tad small but clean. Def stay here!
The property appears to be fairly well kept based on pictures but the room I stayed in had mold on the curtains, a broken light and a broken desk chair. The staff was friendly and helpful but couldn't make up for the condition of the room.
Stayed at the Best Western in Alexandria, MN for the first time. I stayed at this hotel due to the good reviews on Trip Advisor. It was not a good experience. There was no hot water, rooms were dirty.
My daughter and I arrived at about 830 pm and I gave the reciept I printed for the room. I was expecting the same experience I expected two weeks prior but it was horrible. He had to go check the room and see if it was cleaned. He came down and gave use keys good for only one day instead of the three days. The room smelled like old cigarettes'. There were no other rooms available and the cars in the parting lot did not suggest that at all. Our remote did not work and the customer service guy said to use the buttons on the side of the tv, our room did not get service and we asked 3 times, we had to run for towels amentities coffee empty our own garbage. Horrible customer service by the guy who worked nights. MEAN.
A very nice stay, pet friendly (with a nice walking area behind the hotel for our dog), friendly reception, and an acceptable breakfast. The one negative was we were given a room with a noticeable smoke odor - on examination, the smoke seemed to be mostly within the chair (probably someone smoke there) - oh, yes, this is a non-smoking hotel. Unfortunately, there were no rooms available to switch to (sold out), so we had to tolerate it for the night [not cool]. We opened all the windows, turned on as many fans as possible, and lived through it. The next day, they did move us to another room, and gave us a credit toward about half of the night's stay. So, given this is hopefully an exception, and only their fault in that it wasn't caught by cleaning staff, we did enjoy the other three nights of our stay.
I'm 77 years old and have to use a walker for stability issues. The room i stayed in was not a handicap accessibly room. I got their standard room thinking I could just move around like a normal room. Their rooms are about two thirds the size of a normal hotel room. I had to turn my walker sideways to get into the bathroom and sitting on the toilet I could not close the door because it hit my knees.. The room had a king bed but it was so tight to the wall you had to sidestep to get in to to it. The bathroom mirror light fixture had only 2 of the light bulbs working and one of the lamps in the room did not work. I was planning to stay two nights at this hotel, but checked out after the first night and found a different hotel to stay at.
Great place! staff is wonderful! clean and quiet. I will stay there again when I go to Alexandria MN. Breakfast was good and on time. Loved being able to watch Hallmark to relax and fall asleep. Nice area, everything is close by. Clean and neat room, everything was great. I would highly recommend.
The location is excellent, it is close to interstate & easy to drive into the city, with lots of shopping close by. There is easy access to the rooms, There was a very pleasant receptionist. The King bed room was large with couch, coffee table, desk and office chair. There was a large TV with lots of channel choices. The breakfast was adequate and had lots of good choices.
After doing a fair amount of traveling in the last year we are so very disappointed with 95% of the hotels we've stayed at. Basically from the onset of Covid we've been promised sanitized-deep-cleaned hotel rooms and restaurants. Practically all of you have failed to live up to the promises that were made. After two years we still find the same filthy corners, the same dusty dandruff ridden lamp shades and carpeting and the same sticky floors, doors and surfaces there were there before Covid. And yet we are all paying more and getting less. Most hotels are more interested in profits than putting some of them back into upgrading and renewing rooms. My wife & I don't claim to be clean freaks but think we deserve a room to be somewhat similar in quality & cleanliness to our own home. It is very sad, disturbing & disgusting ....we've all been taken for a bunch of fools!!
We stayed for one night in the way through. The room was clean but a little on the small side (need an extra air mattress). The pool was nice but quite busy. The location was very convenient to the interstate and for some shopping. Typical breakfast options available.
We stayed here for our grandson's hockey tournament. We were greeted by a very nice desk person. The room was so clean and in great shape. The breakfast has a good variety with hot and cold items and was well stocked both mornings. The hotel was full but we had no issues finding parking. Cleaning staff were friendly. We were very happily surprised by the quality vs price. It's in a great location with lots of restaurants/bars close by and businesses including Walmart, Fleet Farm, Target etc. It's a short drive to the winery/brewery. The checkout was east and the staff were efficient.
Clean, comfortable, friendly, best breakfast EVER! Pools were clean and relaxing, staff took great care of us with a smile, and it is near shopping and restaurants... We couldn't believe the good deal we got.
We enjoyed our stay. Staff was very professional, and room was very clean! The beds were very comfortable, and we had an excellent night's sleep. The hotel is centrally located to stores and restaurants.
Rooms where not vacuumed nor was the garbage taken out or the sinks wiped out in our 2 rooms. They where gross. The one staff working was very friendly and helpful however she was trying to do 100 things at one time as nothing had been done. It's very hard for 1 person to play housekeeper, front desk, laundry, and maintenance all in one.
Our youth basketball team traveled out of town and stayed here. The accommodations were perfect for our group and the morning breakfast service and pool towel service were excellent. The rooms were clean and when someone had a noise complaint it was handled quickly and effectively.
The best Western is clean friendly environment. The hot tub is amazing my son likes the elevator most. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful . Couldn't have asked for better service. My son also likes the pancake maker
King bed- Super clean, impressive laminate floors, very nice shower with amazing shower head. AND it's made for TALL people. Everything was VERY clean and very good condition. Would highly recommend! Much better than the St. Cloud Best Western.
We have been to Alexandria MN many times over the years and won't stay anywhere else! Everything from staff to cleanliness to breakfast is outstanding. Located close to shopping, restaurants and interstate
This hotel has been the only place I even consider staying, when in the Alexandria area! The owners/staff are exceptional! They are very helpful, kind, and courteous and they treat you like family. The hotel has beautiful decor, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast is great, it's family/pet-friendly, AND you get the best value for your buck! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a great hotel at a reasonable price!
We stayed here for one night, on a seven day road trip. It was clean, reasonably priced (retired military discount), and pet friendly. It was at an excellent location, easy on and off the freeway. We would stay here again.
This motel has fresh paint and carpeting but the ac/heaters are quite old and outdated and the rooms are rather small. The breakfast was adequate, although the kids were very disappointed that there were no waffles (they have a pancake machine instead). We were a little alarmed when we awoke at 2:30 a.m. to someone screaming and slamming of doors. It was also quite off putting when we walked up the stairs to our room and there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from another one of the rooms - in a NON-SMOKING motel. We definitely wouldn't stay here again - the price was way too high for this type of motel.
We were upgraded to a king suite upon check in which was a great surprise. This location is very clean and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great with hot/cold items. Did not use pool or fitness area. Our room smelled and looked clean and the bed, bedding, pillows and towels were all in great condition and smelled clean. The parking lot was full but the hotel was very quiet. Many restaurants/coffee shops close by and Walmart and Target are close also. Overall this hotel is an excellent choice for lodging.
Staff all had excellent customer service skills. Parking lot & entry always clean & attended. Room was exceptional for cleanliness, fresh smell & prime bedding. Room temp easily adjusted to personal preference. TV, frig & microwave in perfect working order. Continental breakfast exceeded expectations due to variety of drinks & food. Pantry was constantly monitored & replenished & cleaned. Overall exceptional experience!
Front desk attendants are welcoming and kind, hotel is CLEAN top to bottom, and price is competitive. Blue interior color is welcomed change from tans and browns of all other chains. No breakfast restrictions and great offerings. This is a must stay place if you are in the area.
Easy access to this hotel and centrally located within easy walking distance to Walmart, Fleet Farm, and Menards. In addition there are many dining options available nearby. Rooms were clean and comfortable with the bed and pillows being the stand out feature for us. Their breakfast offers a very good selection of hot and cold items that were kept well refreshed. Some of the carpeting and decor seem a bit dated but we don't place a high value on those items.
I would recommend this hotel when staying in the Alexandria, Minnesota area. Rooms are clean. Hotel has both a pool and a hot tub, as well as a good breakfast. The check in process was a little slow and inefficient, but overall I would definitely recommend this property.
staying here for about 29 nights(May/june) on business trip ,location is great as many restaurants around as well as Cub food; Wal mart; Target; gas stations; banks and others. Nothing to complaint about, rooms was well taken care; bread fast in morning (hot food); house keeping welly done, with coffee marker; towels. thank you very much . Is a wondersul stay for a long stay (for me, of course)... thank you
After reading some reviews of this hotel, I felt confident to book. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out well at all. My room wasn't ready when I checked in (8:30 p.m.) We were told it hadn't been cleaned yet so we had to be moved into something else.... a downgraded room. The key cards didn't work to get into the outside entrance where we were told to park so we walked outside back around the hotel to get into the building. After walking the entire length of the building back to our room, the key cards didn't open that door either. Manager finally got keys programmed to get us in. Room was cold, laminate flooring was like ice, peeling paint on the window trim, and the toilet ran continuously. There's a whole fleet of hotels in Alex........ We'll be staying elsewhere on our next trip. Maybe your adventure here will be better ? Good Luck !!
Best western was extremely noisy all throughout the night. Guests were very rowdy outside of our room. Walls are paper thin. Our dog, Molly, was very welcomed by all of the staff, though. Pictures online are deceiving- this is more of an old motel rather than a hotel. There is a huge hole in the ceiling at the entrance and most of the lobby is roped off. Although it is non-smoking, there was a subtle smell of smoke in the entire building. Several homeless looking people were loitering on property, and some men were lying on the floors in the main hallways. Breakfast is nice - it's grab and go and there are several options. This “hotel” was not worth the $130 I spent for just one night (this included a $15 pet fee). Very disappointed. Will not return.
We travel for business and are in a different hotel EVERY night! The bed and bedding were just perfect here, and room temperature was great! There are other hotels in town that don't allow A/C to be used during winter months - we prefer a cooler room for sleeping. This BW lets you control the temp! Very friendly staff.
The hotel rooms were clean, the check-in/out process was very quick, easy and hassle-free, and the breakfast was fresh with a variety of options. As a healthcare professional, I appreciated the social distancing and masking employed by the staff at the hotel. We will definitely be staying there again!
The Rooms at this hotel are a little smaller than most, but don't let that stop you from staying here. I was here overnight and the staff and cleanliness more than make up for any lack of space. I had a single king bed and slept very well on the cushy mattress that was very comfortable, with fresh smelling linens. There is a small refrigerator in the room but be aware there is no microwave in room, but there is one in the breakfast area you could use in the mornings. There is a coffee maker with a selection of coffees to choose from. Also very close to Fleet Farm, Walmart and Menards if you need something, a good choice of restaurants and fuel is also very close by at this exit. Bottom line, I would stay here again if in the Alexandria area. Loss of one dot for room size only.
Very clean rooms & facility !! Alexandria was the best of the Best Westerns we ever stayed at. Good hot breakfast. Workers were VERY VERY helpful & friendly. My wife & I give this motel a 5 STAR RATING !!!!!!!
This hotel is right next to Walmart, Menards, Fleet Farm and many restaurants. The hotel is quiet although there were not many other guests there when we stayed. Due to the virus stuff going on, we were not able to use the pool nor was a hot breakfast available. They did have a small selection of food items which was nice. We didn't care for the hardwood floors in the room, they were very cold!
No surprises here, it's well run, clean and comfortable, the breakfast is good and the staff is friendly, some of the rooms are going through a remodel for the bath area which is nice, the beds and pillows are very comfortable, I only wish they had suites with jacuzzi and fireplaces, rooms are small but not cluttered, the space is well layed out, i stay here for the location and fair price and it's much better than a few of the other hotels in the area
The rooms were fine. It's what you would expect from a mid-level hotel. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes just to get your room key. I've stayed at this exact Best Western before and the experience was the same both times.
You can walk to many food and shopping options but it's not noisy, I've stayed here several times now after trying 3 other neighboring hotels, it's clean and comfortable and offers great value, room is kinda small but has a big tv and frig, bathroom is very small, breakfast is pretty good for this level with hot options and a pancake machine, been pleased with the staff also
If you're staying here without pets, my review won't say much for you. I stayed here as my first stay on a road trip from Saint Paul, MN through Canada to Fairbanks, Alaska. It was the first time my husband and I had stayed at hotels with our dogs. I see other reviewers have mentioned pet policies and some say they aren't unreasonable. I reserved my room through Expedia and think it was non-refundable, so I was pretty committed when I got to the hotel. Had we known the pet rules, we wouldn't have reserved a room here. For others who may be in our situation, dog owners may want to know a bit more about the pet rules. Everyone fits their dog into their family and trains it differently than the next, so the rules may be fine and reasonable for some but problematic for others. We found the rules problematic, but again - take this with a grain of salt as this may not apply to you. Our dogs are our babies. They are allowed to play together on the bed and they sleep on the bed with us at home. We didn't anticipate when we got our dogs that we would need to take a road trip to Alaska in the early winter (when camping is less of an option). So, we arrive with our dogs at this hotel at night to check in with our non-refundable reservation. They ask me to sign a list of pet policies, which in itself is fine. The problem is that I hadn't seen those policies anywhere when I decided to purchase a night at the hotel. Pets aren't allowed on the beds and if dogs shed in the bed an extra fee can be charged. Dogs aren't allowed in the lobby, so we have to enter through a different door. The other rules are more standard for our life, like pick up after them in the designated pet area outside. Entering through a different entrance was easy enough to follow, but all the rules together made it feel like pets are only welcome if they are hidden away and invisible. My experience is that you generally can't train a dog instantaneously to stay off the bed if your dog is accustomed to being allowed/welcomed on the bed. Even if you can, a hotel is a less welcoming place to be if you have to be vigilant about training/maintaining these new boundaries with your dog. I don't mean to complain, honestly. My point is to say that it would be great if the hotel would make their rules about pets more transparent for people like us to find online. That would help people like us be good guests who are informed when they pay their money to stay here. We wanted to be good guests but in the end honestly were not able to keep our dogs off the bed at this place. Don't get me wrong, hotels get to set the rules. We simply wouldn't have stayed here if we had known that one particular rule.
We spent two nights at the BW and found it to be clean, comfortable and quiet. The pet charge is reasonable (although with a non-shedding hypoallergenic dog my wife and I leave more hair around than the pup. But then again, the human rate is higher). The beds are comfortable, the TV is large and clear, the shower head is very high and my 5 foot three inch wife couldn't reach it to change the spray. There's an indoor pool for folks who like to swim. The breakfast is good. Lots of choices: eggs, potatoes, ham one day, sausage the next, cereals, etc. I had fun with the pancake machine. Decent coffee too. Easy check-in, no check out. Would return if in the area.
Clean, decent breakfast selection, Dee at the front desk was very helpful at check-in and when called to see if they had an available room. But I tell you what, the fourth star is attributable to the shower pressure. I have long hair and it's almost impossible to rinse my hair out in even the best hotel. Would definitely stay again!
Hotel was clean and nicely decorated. There was a wide variety of hot and cold breakfast choices, all which tasted great. Pool area was nice. Conveniently located right off I-94 and close to several stores and restaurants. Was priced a little lower than other hotels, which was why we chose to stay here. We would definitely come back.
The things that matter most to me: cleanliness, comfortable beds, ease of check-in, and value. Check-in was easy. We travel with a small dog, so we had to sign a separate paper saying we knew all the rules for pets. That was a first, but nothing on the list was unreasonable. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, The breakfast was ample for a hotel breakfast, and the price was very reasonable. I don't expect to be in the area again, but I'd certainly stay here if I were.
Lobby was very clean, front desk super nice. Breakfast was clean/good (good for what BW says they have to serve). Rooms very clean/updated. I learned all BW's are not all held to the same standards like the Marr/Hil brands, but this BW was superb. Location great. I would definitely stay here again when in the area.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathroom in our room was a bit small for having to change in there. The breakfast area has been expanded since we have stayed here which was much needed. The food was your standard breakfast food. The mattresses in our room were very soft and hard to sit in to watch tv. This could just be us since we like a firmer mattress. The place was very quiet. The Staff was very friendly.
Access to the hotel is by way of the frontage road off hwy 29 at 44th street. The air conditioner is quite, as was the room. Even though the hotel was full, I didn't hear anyone else. I had to leave very early in the morning and was not able to take advantage of the free breakfast. Maybe next time.
Room was not vacuumed, there were wads of paper in the tub. The shower head could only be adjusted by a person 6'5" or taller. The fridge barely kept items cool. Hotel was very quiet. Breakfast items were varied and some items I'd never had at a hotel. Food was good.
Nice place, good location, walking distance to a few restaurants, Walmart is across the street. The room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was a bit above average for this type of hotel. There was also a nice variety of options. The pool area was clean well stock with towels. I have stayed here before and I will stay again in the future.
Very convenient to Walmart and restaurants. Quiet and safe area. Breakfast the standard fare. The wifi worked great, the A/C was a little loud at first, but then quieted down. There was no laundry room, but there was a pool.
Absolutely terrible. If you stay don't stay in room 101. The bed was completely shot on one side. When you laid down it dropped you to the bottom right on metal springs. The hotel was completely booked so couldn't change rooms. It was also 11pm and the rest of the town was booked. I ended up on the floor so I managed 2 hours of interrupted sleep. I talked to the front desk in again in the morning and offered them to come see the bed she said she could give me a partial refund then seen I booked and prepaid through a booking agent and said she would have to contact them. When I didn't hear back for 2days I called the booking company. They called Best Western which BW told them nothing was wrong with the bed and offered a $20 refund. Honestly the lying and 20 offer was more of turn off from the company then the mattress. We stay in Alexandria yearly but this was our first time at the Best Western. We won't be staying here again.
I was impressed with the hotel. The room was clean and very well done. Loved the hard wood floors. Bed was comfortable. Pool area was a little small but was clean. Breakfast was good, we had pancakes and breakfast burritos. I would definitely stay here if we need a hotel in Alexandria. Thank you.
Excellent place to stay. Always very helpful, friendly and caring staff. Would recommend this place very highly. We stay there several times a year. Always look forward to an enjoyable stay. Always clean and the beds are very comfortable. An easy place to get to hard to leave.
I was checked in on Friday night 5-24-19-by Kayla she was a very pleasant gal. This is a smaller hotel-but very nice. The pool was average size but the hot tub was huge! It was a quiet hotel-never heard any noise all night-and it was full on Saturday. The breakfast was really nice-I loved the breakfast burrito bar and the toppings for pancakes-lots of nice selection. Room was decent-older bathroom but I not a big deal. Very clean and smelled great. My only negative thing was the desk clerk working on Saturday and Sunday morning. She was so rude and resemble a card board cutout. I made a comment to her about being out of tissue and she just stared at me and didn't respond. She didn't speak and just scowled at me! When I was ready to check out nowhere to be found so I left my keycards on the desk. I would stay here again for sure though-I realize there are always a few bad apples.
This newly-remodeled property is decorated great, wonderful amenities and close to the interstate. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here whether traveling for work or pleasure. Very competitive rates, but need to work through the website properly to find the best prices.
The hotel was very clean, pleasant, with great morning breakfast! Staff was nice and greeted me when I came in and when I left. I will be back and enjoyed my stay. The Decor of the hotel was modern and beautiful.
From boooking to check out the staff was amazing. They worked hard to make everything work out for us. Amanda went out of her way to make our stay better. The rooms were clean. We spent a lot of time at the hotel because we came to meet family and we got snowed in. The rooms have microwaves and fridges,I don't know why all hotels don't have them. We extensively used the pool and hot tub which were great. The breakfast always had some protein choices, besides the easy to use pancake maker. Because we were a big group, we used the tables in the breakfast area to play cards and eat take out food. The staff was fine with us doing that. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Had to travel for daughters swimming event. Hotel was clean good breakfast. Very close to the freeway and restaurants. Walking distance to any store was nice Room was clean and nicely decorated. Will stay again
I love this place! Staff is great! The rooms are very nice! The bed was so comfy and I didn't want to leave. The breakfast was so delicious and so fresh. Close to shopping and lots of restaurants. Best Western gets a A+.
Newly remodeled with updated, modern finishes. Clean and comfortable. Decent breakfast provided with room. This was a last minute trip and I was still able to get a room at a reasonable price. It is located very close to several stores and there are plenty of eating options within walking distance.
This Best Western is located near I-94, has everything at a reasonable price, and is surrounded by dozens of support businesses, like coffee shops and restaurants. Continental breakfast near lobby has everything, your choice.
There is nothing fancy with the rooms, but there is sufficient room and the room was clean. The staff was very pleasant and had no problems with checking in or out. The breakfast was a nice combination of hot and cold items.
We go to Alexandria frequently and when we need a hotel we always choose the Best Western. It has great beds, a good breakfast, and is located where it is convenient for us. But you do have to book early as this hotel fills up fast.
Trying to stay with one or 2 hotel chains. BW is great. They so improved the facilities. They keep them great. Always a great value and choices are remarkable. The Alex BW is no exception. I'll be a repeat customer
Okay place to spend the night. Room was quiet. Clean on the surface but rug needs more than a vacuum and a/c needs to be thoroughly cleaned to get rid of musty, dusty smell to room. Breakfast was not as good as most. We're near the end of a 3 week trip. Stayed mostly Hampton and BW. This was the weakest one but 50% less than Hampton in area.
Our stay was OK, might stay again if we are in the area. Bed was OK, pillows were very firm, so sleep was OK. AC was kinda noisy so that didn't help the sleep either. Breakfast was bare bones. Staff were friendly and helpful. The front lobby was really unappealing, kinda like a Motel 6.
This is a very impressive motel. We only stayed for a night, but it was a very nice experience. The staff were very courteous and were very helpful. The room was very clean and well decorated and the TV channel selection was great. The breakfast was a typical motel type breakfast (nothing special, but equal to all other motels). If your travels bring you to Alexandria, this place is worth consideration. We will certainly stay here again if we are ever back.
We booked a king suite with a pull out bed for June 14th. During check in, the front desk staff were nice. We were bummed because they informed us that the pool had been closed and they were not sure if it would be open later that day. We were there for the big state trap shoot event and knew that some of the kids had planned to swim so that was disappointing. We brought our things into the room and could tell everything was pretty dated right away. We needed to use the bathroom before meeting friends for dinner and found that it was absolutely disgusting. It appeared the cleaners had been in there to replenish towels and toilet paper but there were pubic hairs in the tub, on the tub ledge, the floor and toilet. If that had not been cleaned properly, how do you trust that anything else has been? At dinner we checked the availability of other nearby hotels and luckily found a room at the AmericInn in town for $40.00 more a night since only one room choice was available. At that point we didn't even care that it cost more. When we arrived back at Best Western, we told the front desk that we know we just checked in but would like to check out without offering an explanation of why since we had another customer standing behind us. The man behind the desk apologized and said that he would cancel out the transaction. He then asked me if it was because of the room and I just said yes, that my son and I could not stay there. My thought is that he had to have had other complaints just like this already. I watched my bank statement and I was never refunded. I called Best Western and the man who answered said a manager would call me. To date they have not called or refunded us. Other people from our school group that had stayed there also had similar problems in their rooms but could not find another hotel to stay at. I know one group had been told they would get a discount after they complained the following morning. Breakfast was also not ready in the morning for that group when they were told it would be available so they didn't get a chance to eat before competing the next morning. Hopefully they remodel all of the rooms and hire cleaners that care to make sure things are sanitary for others. I know our separate groups will not be recommending to stay here for future trap shoot competitions.
Room was good, beds comfortable and the breakfast was the norm...their booklet advertised a waffle machine, but all they had was a pancake machine that made so-so small pancakes....Location great and several eating places within walking distance..
I stayed for business. It is close to restraunts ad shopping. Had plesant stay it appears the rooms were recently remodled. They were remodling the lobby and was under construction did not affect my stay all in all a nice property.
There was a group of 6 of us with 3 rooms and we all agreed that the beds were very comfortable and the hotel was very quiet. The next day we had breakfast in the dining area and all of us were able to find something that we liked. Can't beat that!
Comfortable beds but layout and cleanliness leave a lot to be desired. Our family of four came to stay two nights while I had business in town. I booked directly through the hotel and was pleased when they offered a room slightly before the internet price. Upon reserving a room, I did request a room close to the front desk as I am handicapped and have problems walking even with a cane. I was assured it wouldn't be a problem. After checking in, and heading to our room, we had to first walk down the entire length of the downstairs corridor (at least ten rooms spread out on each side) just to reach the only elevator of the hotel. After getting off on the second floor, we again had to walk at least the same distance down the second floor corridor (our room is almost above the lobby). I'd have called the front desk to see about changing to a closer room, but I was just too worn out and in too much pain to have to walk the corridors again. This room DEFINITELY isn't ADA compatible. The sink is extremely slow draining, and the front desk assured me someone would look at it the next day. There was also an empty soda can in the bottom (open) section of the nightstand. When we returned to our room the second night, I noticed one wall of the bathroom had blood and what appeared to be poop splattered on the wall. We were all probably just too tired the night before to even notice. The sink had not been fixed and was still slow draining. Kudos to the desk clerk who came up shortly after 7:00 p.m. to clean the wall in the bathroom for us (she did offer to move our room, but since we are leaving in the morning and I'm worn out from working more than 12 hours today, we asked just that the wall be cleaned. The refrigerator also could be better -- it is an energy efficient refrigerator with no controls for cooler/warmer -- but everything we put in the fridge was barely cool to the touch even after being in there all night (we did hear the motor running, so it was working). The hotel desperately needs to be updated to be more accommodating in this high-tech world. The wi-fi has been wonderfully fast (rare for hotels), but there are very few outlets in the room. We had to unplug the hair dryer just to be able to charge our two phones. The beds are wonderfully soft, the rooms are quiet (we've not been able to hear anyone walking or talking in the halls), and the customer service has been prompt and has exceeded expectations. Upon asking the front desk clerk this morning about a local attraction my husband and children were interested in, she gave me quick directions and printed out information from the internet. The location is convenient to many things in Alexandria, too. However, great customer service doesn't take the place of poor housekeeping and non-compliant ADA rooms that are a long distance to walk to when walking is already difficult. I'll be back for business again in the future but will be looking at other hotels in the area.
We had a quiet nights rest in a king bed room that was great to work, relax and sleep in. This is a very good hotel and I will be coming back when in the area. The hotel is easy to get to and in a very convenient location with great restaurants close by. I plan on staying here again when in the area.
Breakfast buffet was good, I had never seen a pancake cooker--they were good. Eggs seemed like powdered eggs but serving as eggs obrien made them pretty yummy! Many options for breakfast. Room was clean and nicely furnished.
The hotel was clean and the price was decent. The only complaint I had was the check in lady would only give me one rate. I had to call the Best Western Reservations to get a better rate. The pool and hot tub were nice. Breakfast was decent. There is a Walmart, Jimmy Johns and Menard by the hotel.
Clean room and great check-in. Would definitely stay here again! We only stayed one night, but were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price and the great front desk help. There are also a nice variety of places very nearby, if you want to find a meal or beverages.
I am repeating much of what others have written but, yes, this accommodation is a great value. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and quiet. I was pleasantly surprised at this because it is located in a fairly high traffic area. Yet I did not hear traffic noise or any other disturbance, for that matter. Speaking of location - it is only a block from Fleet Farm. How can you beat that? I will definitely stay there again. Staff was very helpful. I broke my glasses but the desk staff found some tape and helped me get going. Whew - how to get along without my glasses?
Staff was clean, courteous, and knowledgeable. The room was clean, bed was comfortable, and water pressure was OK. Breakfast was forgettable. I would suggest other breakfast plans. Easy access to several other eateries and right across the street from a Walmart.
The hotel was easy to access and well kept. Our room was clean and featured a king sized bed, free WiFi and complimentary breakfast. We were just traveling through the area and needed a place for one night but will definitely book here again if in the area. Good value for the price.
I stayed at the BW in Alexandria, MN last weekend. The staff is wonderful, as is the management. Once home, it takes me a day or two to empty out the suitcases and put things away. Two days after my return, I had a migraine, and I couldn't find my prescription medication. I called the hotel to ask if anyone had turned them in. They hadn't, but the lady at the front desk volunteered to go check. Sure enough, I'd left them in a dresser drawer along with a swimsuit and towel. I asked her to mail them to me, at my cost, as fast as possible, and she agreed. An hour later, she called back. The manager was headed to Minneapolis later that day and he agreed to meet just off the freeway to give me back my items. My husband met him and offered him $20 for his time and for going above and beyond to help us out. He refused the money. That's first class CLASS! I don't remember their names, but again, thank you!
Great value. Hotel seems older than it is. But was clean. Location was great. Would stay again due to value. Breakfast was very processed foods. Check was so so. No one was there to check us out. Maid tried to come in room check out morning without knocking at 9:30 am woke us up. Then left and came back knocked shortly after - again waking us up. The beds and pillows were so amazing. We ordered two of the same pillows on line! Great sleep.
We had an excellent stay at this hotel. Clean , excellent breakfast , helpful staff. Would definately reccomend this hotel and would stay again ! The price was very reasonable too and was in a great location !
A very efficient facility with a very attentive staff. All of the areas of the facility were in excellent condition and the location worked very well for our stay. We would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
Good safe place with clean rooms and VERY nice staff who are happy to help with any questions or concerns. Good choice for the area. Situated well with what I needed for the area. Very quiet and friendly people there.
I stayed here for two nights on a recent business trip. There is ample parking with several places to eat and shop at within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. I stay at a lot of Best Westerns traveling for my business and must say they have one of the best breakfast set ups I have encountered for this level of a hotel.
I have never stayed at a hotel that "gets" we done all need carpeted floors to have a warm and wonderful room decor. Thank you for the wonderful air quality because there are zero allergens on a linoleum floor - ALL hotels should follow this. GREAT comfortable beds also .
Perfect bed! Everything was clean and neat. At the last minute, my sister and I brought her 2 grandchildren with us. The pancake machine and the pool were huge hits. Awesome staff! We came to Alex for 2 concerts.....this place rocks!!!
The Best Western in Alexandria MN is a very nice hotel. Right off the interstate with plenty of food options available. Walmart is located within walking distance as well as other shopping. If you need a good nights rest, this is the place to be at. The rooms are quiet and although you are just off the interstate, you do not hear all the typical noises you do in other hotels.
Another great stay here. Staff is friendly and once again the fresh cookies at the front desk are delicious. Breakfast was hot and good just too bad I couldn't get up early enough to really dig into it, only grab and go. Good amenities just didn't have time to enjoy them this time
The hotel is in need of updating but worth the price. There is no laundry service. Simple breakfast is offered in the mornings. This is a pet friendly hotel. The mattresses are wore out. Great lighting in the rooms.
The good: Vinyl plank flooring, pool and fitness center, quality breakfast options, quiet rooms, easy parking and access out, near a walmart and food places, good staff. The not as good: Very soft water, odd soaps (showering took a while), a little more costly than other locations.
I stay here with my students every summer on our way to North Dakota. The staff is always helpful, rooms are clean, and the area is very convenient, not too close to the interstate and just far enough off to get a quiet experience. Close to shopping, fuel, and other needs.
The room was clean. Friendly staff. The breakfast was good and had a pancake machine that was cool. The eating area is small, but overall good experience. Check-in and out was easy. We experienced no problems. I think it's a little overpriced compared to other comparable hotels.
Was late but wanted a place with a pool for the kids as we had been driving quite a bit that day, thought it was going to be a lot more money but was pleasantly surprised with the cost and that the pool was open until 11:00 and that it was a nice, clean hotel, worked out perfectly!
The room was clean. Beds extremely comfortable! Quiet stay for a busy weekend. Tasty breakfast. The only downfall was no microwave. Friendly staff. Always there to assist. right off of I94. Walking distance to Wal-Mart and various restaurants.
Great location easy to get to from the Interstate and visible from the Interstate. Was greeted as a rewards member and made to feel I was a valued welcomed guest. This hotel had a brand new feel to it. I had a king room that had excellent lighting and work space that I like when traveling. The desk had a roll out table that was excellent for me to get my work done. I slept well and felt this was an excellent place to stay. I totally enjoyed my stay and will be back.
Great hot tub and pool. Breakfast included. Professional service at the desk. Clean room, TV, internet. View o blue spruce trees. Grounds were landscaped. Came in at midnight so please to be there. Close to everything.
Beware...I was informed when I tried to check in at midnight that this hotel DOES NOT hold rooms (not even rooms reserved with a credit card) past 4 pm. They have a policy that if you are arriving after 4 pm, you must call them and let them know you'll be checking in late, or you might not have a room! And if you try get them to see the ridiculousness of their logic, they become extremely combative. Front desk personnel was extremely rude. The rest of the stay was fine, room was clean enough, breakfast was satisfactory (but not enough seating), and hot tub & pool were fine. The hotel is obviously an older facility, but they've tried to do an inexpensive update. Finishes are not all as nice as they could be, but it's good enough.
We checked in early. The front desk person did let us check in early but appeared unhappy about it. The room was fine. We found hair balled up on two different pillows( that's gross). The pool was ok. The beds were very comfortable. At breakfast there were lots of options. I got biscuits and gravy. It was Luke warm and there were out of sausage. We wife and daughter had better luck with other items. I only had a few opportunities to Talk with the front desk but each time I thought it could have gone better. Would probably stay somewhere else next time.
I'm a Best Western Gold Member and came in over Memorial Day weekend for a graduation. Pretty disappointed in this hotel. Front desk staff was friendly enough upon check in, very helpful. You can tell it was a smoking hotel at one point due to smell. Stayed on second floor which was a huge mistake because 1st floor rooms looked recently remodeled unlike 2nd floor. Room isn't good size and inspecting it I found beer bottles behind the chair, inch thick dust, hair in bathtub and unclean sheets and comforter. Fridge was sticky with jelly and turned to freeze everything. Being a small town and just having traveled all day with my disabled son I choose to suck it up and use my container of Lysol wipes. Maid was happy to change bedding but no point in pointing things out due to language barrier. AC unit old and run down but worked well enough. Impressed with pool, great temperature and very clean. Hot tub really good size but jet only work half the time. Breakfast was a mess, busy hotel and front desk worker also had to run breakfast, waited awhile to get pancake machine refilled and had to clean our own table. I take that this hotel doesn't see a lot of traffic so perhaps that's what the issues were. But to have the Best Western name on it I expected more than what I got. I will not return.
Our room was about what one expects when staying in an economy hotel such as this. The most disappointing aspect was the unwelcoming manner of the front desk person. There was no smile during check-in, no sense of warmth, and a lack of personality. It seemed as if a robot was checking us in. Our room was okay, and the location was great. Everything was clean.
My husband and I spent a night at the Best Western in Alexandria Minnesota. It was conveniently located right off the interstate. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and appeared to be recently remodeled. It was very quiet - fortunately we did not hear the extremely loud neighbors that were two doors down from us (you could hear them when you were in the hall, but could not hear them when in our room).
Everything was fine. We all very much enjoyed the breakfast bar. It had a nice variety. Loved the pancake machine and the blueberry and strawberry toppings. Lots of fresh fruit available and protein items.
When travelling cross country you never know what to expect. You go to the internet and try to find something not too expensive but with a good name and you hope you've chosen wisely. In this case we got lucky. This hotel was clean, had nice ammenities (pool & whirlpool), quiet and a nice breakfast. All the staff we encountered went out of their way to help us. I would highly recommend this hotel in your travels.
We arrived about 3 pm and the parking lot was full so we didn't know what to expect. There was a large wedding party staying there but we still had great service and weren't disturbed when they came in around 11. We diddn't have breakfast but it looked good and had many choices.
Good place to stay. Very nice continental breakfast with plenty of options. Staff was very friendly. Only problem with this place was you could see it from the main road but it was a little harder to get into.
Average Best Western. I do like the laminate floors/no carpet. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. The bathrooms are very outdated and I found the shower head to be a bit low...I'm 5'7". The shower and sink were very slow to drain but I did let the front desk know so hopefully that is corrected for the next guest.
On the way back to Madison, Wisconsin from Seattle, Washington I stopped and stayed at the Alexandria Inn, Best Western in Minnesota. Very nice place to stay, very reasonable price, and excellent staff and amenities. Would not hesitate to stay there again.
The staff at the Best Western in Alexandria Minnesota were the best. They were efficient, accommodating, friendly, and made our stay an outstanding experience! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Alexandria, MN!
Very Clean and comfortable room also quiet. I have stayed at other hotels in Alexandria and this one will be my go to for my stays. affordable and pet friendly is always a plus. Was not able to utilize the breakfast but have stayed at other Best Westerns and have always been wonderful
Very true, we stayed there last week for 4 days, flew to Canada and back for one more night... Mohamed was always great help and Sean always ready to take us arround The rooms big and comfortable and breakfast very good Thanks!!
Quick stop while traveling to another destination. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room was clean and very quiet for a restful night. Hot breakfast with multiple choices. Pet friendly. Would stay again if in the area.
We stayed here for a night over a weekend. The room was decent sized and had a fridge and microwave. I like how there is laminate wood flooring instead of carpet. The bed and bathroom were clean, but there was trash left behind the recliner in the room. They have recently redone the place, but it seems like it was done hastily or on a budget. The tiling job in the bathroom and sink area was unlevel and the grout lines weren't strait. The vertical areas of tile along the wall were done with the tile name/UPC facing upwards, which functionally is ok but makes it look unprofessional. There were areas in the corners of the room that the sheetrock needed replacing and the paint job was poorly done as well. If they had taken a little more time or contracted better, it would be a very nice place!! The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good as well.
Very nice and the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean and the towels and sheets smelled clean and fresh. The breakfast was very good and had a big variety of items to choose. Very friendly staff.
This hotel was remodeled since our last stay here. They did a wonderful job! Beds are very comfortable, carpeting has been replaced by wood floors in most areas which makes for a much cleaner environment. Breakfast is not fancy, but is very good and you won't be hungry afterwards. We travel quite a bit and have found this hotel to be a great value for our money. Reasonably priced. Nice amenities. EXCELLENT customer service!! We have stayed here before and will stay here again while visiting family in Alexandria. Good location near highway, stores and restaurants. They are the best!
We only stayed one night for a job in Alexandria. First of all our check on was fast and courteous with delicious cookies for guest. Walking down the hall where it was clean and smelled like fresh Linnin in the dryer. Walked into the room and to my surprise the floors where a fo hardwood looking vinyl. More hotels should put that type of flooring down, makes me feel more comfortable that there isn't crud ground into carpet and I think it makes the rooms smell better. Beds were very comfortable to the point of not wanting to get out of them. Tv was easy to use with a guide. Refrigerator without freezer and microwave in the rooms. Shower was good, hot and actually had a good stream. All in all the rooms where great. Now as for breakfast it's hot and plentiful, and a great start to the day with pancakes, cereal, biscuits and sausage gravy, sausage patties and some scrambled eggs and much more. Good job Best Western and who ever owns and runs that hotel like it should be run
Very comfortable bed, clean and updated room, close to restaurants, gas stations and the interstate. Room was small if I had planned on staying for an extended period, but I think most people would not be bothered by the size. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast.
This hotel is a typical Best Western. It is right off of the freeway and has plenty of parking. The lobby is small, and the elevator is not near the lobby (it is all the way down the hallway of first floor rooms). Hotel offers free Wi-Fi, and the service was good. Room comes with standard amenities (coffee maker, fridge, TV) and offers shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, and makeup remover. Everything worked as expected. Breakfast offerings include hot and cold food items (eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, pastries, etc.). To me, the eggs and sausages were a little dry but overall good breakfast selection. The price per night for this hotel felt a little expensive for the area, but I understand that there is a decent amount of competition for this freeway stop town.
Been to Alexandria before. This is a nice place. Comfortable, easy location. Clean room, no hassle check in check out. Breakfast is standard fare. Ok nothing special but acceptable. Restaurants nearby are good. Easy access to the freeway.
You can't go wrong staying here. If you like a pool, this one is great with an oversized whirlpool. And there is a great outdoor sitting area next to the pool. The breakfast was fantastic with great variety. In addition to the normal waffle maker, there was a pancake maker...no pouring of batter here though....all automatic. And sugar free syrup that we didn't have to ask for. The furnishings were nice, great mattress, plenty of towels, nice shower, frig in the room. My only suggestions are to replace the pillows with softer ones. Our room was extremely clean, which we really appreciated. Also a very good price....
The hotel was clean, staff was very helpful, the price was extremely reasonable and a great location. I would recommend this hotel if you are visiting Alexandria area. There are great restaurants near by and shopping.
This hotel was clean. The Breakfast was good. It was in a nice location. Our kids loved the pool! This is not a fancy hotel but it is a clean, friendly hotel. The price was great as well. I would stay again!
This hotel is right off the freeway, but the closest exit and bridge is all under construction, so it may be a bit tricky getting to its otherwise convenient location. The hotel is located right next to a shopping area that has a Walmart, Culver's, as well as other fast-food, and convenient gas stations. The hotel itself has updated rooms, but the lobby is in need of an update which is suppose to happen starting this August. Guests may be a bit concerned with how their rooms will be when they see the bucket in the lobby catching the above air conditioner's condensation, but I can assure you my room was nice. My room was very clean and had a comfortable king bed. My bed was comfortable and I slept well, but my pillows, while soft, were a little bit lumpy. The sink in the room is separate from the toilet and shower. I also had a refrigerator which worked nicely. The hotel provides a breakfast and has a pool, but I didn't have the time to try either of them out. The attendant at the desk is tasked with other things, so they may not be at the desk when you arrive. They have instructions there to use the phone to page the attendant. While I didn't have much delay having to page the attendant, it was a little inconvenient to have to go through the motions to page someone; especially when exhausted from traveling all day.
Clean hotel and rooms were clean but kinda crowded, no internet connections would work with the hotels password - small crowded breakfast area, average pool and hot tub - close to a variety of restaurants and lots of shopping though, hotel is pretty much in the center and you can walk to stores and about 8 restaurants.
Best Western did excellent job in converting a distressed property into the Best Western brand. What was a formerly a cut rate, run down and worn motel has now been upgraded to a significant Best Western branded hotel with exceptional service and quality staff.
I have never had such an awful experience at a hotel! First of all, we laid down to sleep, and the comforter was dirty with a smear of something. (?). I can deal with that, just had it replaced. The sink was 95% clogged, so it took minutes to drain. The shower/tub had hair in it from the previous guests. The room smelled so musty that I actually thought about running to Walmart to grab some Lysol! Finally, the day after check in, I found old, dried, moldy dog poop under the desk. This I cannot deal with. We checked out early and didn't sleep a wink! Yuk, yuk, yuk!
Nothing wrong with this hotel, nothing spectacular either. The rooms are of average size. The furniture is large making the ease of movement in the room uncomfortable. We did not try the breakfast, so I'm not able to comment on it.
Loved having no carpet, floor was modern, bed linens were very lovely, plenty of towels. Great tv with a clean remote ready to use. Thanks for having a tv channel listing in the room as well! I still like having a desk and a chair in the room, so thank you BW!
This Best Western has been upgraded but like many motels upgrades help but if the bones of the building are weak? The bath/toilet room was so small that a 300 pounder wouldn't fit. A little noisy from neighbours. The buffet was the standard BW fare. We are on a Road Trip and this was our 5th Best Western breakfast...it becomes tedious. Other than that quibble this is an average three star.
Great value I should receive my $50.00 gift card soon. Then on the road again... The only issue was a slight odour in the room but could live with it other than that a great stay and good value... Again waiting for my gift card.
Check-in very efficient. Room clean and very comfortable. Impressed with the laminate floors. Felt very clean. Great amenities in room. Bed very comfortable. (I wish I had checked the brand of the mattress!) Breakfast ample and good. Staff very helpful at directions, etc.
We were in town for two nights for the Mn High School State Trap Championship. Even though the hotel was full, we found it to be very quiet. The room was clean and there was adequate space for all of our gear. Beds were comfortable. My only complaint was the lack of space in the breakfast area. We will stay here again.
We stayed here en route to Minneapolis. Easy location off the Interstate. Well landscaped and kept property. Next door is a Walmart if you need travel supplies/snacks. Room was clean and average. Breakfast was well stocked and staff was friendly. We didn't swim but the pool area looked spacious and featured a nice outdoor patio area.
This was a very good place to stay. They had a extremely great breakfast and the bed was very comfortable. We were close to a exit. Amanda and Dee were extremely good at what they did to make our stay unforgettable.
This is a very clean, friendly place to stay. Close to Walmart, restaurants and other attractions. We were in town for a Love & Respect conference. There was hardly anybody there, that we could see, when we checked in. But that night after the conference, there was a long line of people looking for a room. Certainly glad we made our reservation. The pool area and hot tub were great. The whole place was neat and clean. The staff very friendly. Even with all the people, it was quiet. The only negative was the size of the parking lot. It didn't seem like there was even one spot for each room. But otherwise, wonderful.
Even though they couldn't find my reservation. I had the printed out confirmation and they gave me a room. The rest of the stay was good. The lot was full when we got in Sat. night, but there was still parking along the edge. We never lacked for anything and encountered no issues while staying there.
I love staying here. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The beds are better than what I have at home so I always sleep great, no lumps or bumps! It is always clean there too, you can tell staff do all they can to make your stay comfortable. The pool/hot tub area is great too. Both are roomy enough to hold multiple people with out being crowded. The fitness center is a nice addition too! The breakfast provided in the morning always has a good variety as well, everything from waffles to cereal, to bagels and rolls, and different yogurts and granola's. Their coffee is really good too. We love staying there when we visit family in and around Alexandria, and don't really even consider any of the other places in town anymore.
The new wooden floors in this motel are great. Also love the new closet door. Excellent choice of items at breakfast bar. If you love waffles they have whip cream, strawberries, and chocolate chips to smother it with. Also love the breakfast sausage and biscuits in gravy. I stay here every week for business and would recommend this motel to everyone that I know. The Best Western Rewards program is one of the best I have belonged too.
Bare floors in rooms was different, used to carpeting but didn't really matter to us. Close to lots of stores and eating places. Pool was warm and whirlpool was great. Would definately stay here again if in the area!
We booked a couple rooms last weekend for a neighbor's son's birthday gathering. The hotel staff were wonderful to deal with. They offered the breakfast room for the group to have the birthday cake and gift celebration (at no extra charge) then after our children all went swimming as we hung out at the pool. The desk clerk (Heather) was incredibly helpful by asking several times if there was anything we needed to make our stay more enjoyable. No question this was first rate service! The rooms were nice and clean as well as comfortable. We will enjoy another visit here soon.
Nice clean and comfortable. Just what the doctor ordered after an 9 hour drive on the Interstate. The hotel is located within a shopping centre and only a few yards off the Interstate. All conviniences are only a few yards away. (Stores, Gas-station, Restaurants.)
Overall this is a nice, clean hotel with one of the best breakfast buffets. The bathroom is very tiny. The shower head was positioned so high up that the water almost hit the other side of the shower. Unfortunately, there is no way to adjust the shower head up or down, so one is stuck having a very unpleasant shower experience. The beds are comfortable and room is clean. I would have rated higher if not for the strange shower and size of the bathroom.
This Best Western in Alexandria was a convenient stay with easy access to and from the freeway. The room was clean and comfortable, and the price was reasonable. It's location near eating establishments was also convenient. The breakfast was on par with other Best Westerns - very acceptable.
We needed extra beds for visiting family members so picked this hotel. The rooms were consistent with what you would expect. Liked having a fridge and microwave in the room. I had two minor complaints, one was that I couldn't find a comfortable pillow for myself out of the four on the bed. The other complaint was that the continental breakfast on Sunday was poorly supervised, with food running low and out without being replenished in a timely manner.
Me and one of my other drivers stayed here for 2 nights when we were hauling into north Dakota, I have stayed here in the past still a very nice hotel, stay here anytime I am headed west, very nice beds, a lot of food very close, and a walmart in the same parking lot
Stayed here overnight with my little family. Everything was quite clean and everyone was friendly. Pool room was a little dark, but still nice for our little kids to burn some energy before bed. Good breakfast with a few hot options.
The breakfast buffet had good selection and fresh. Room was clean and comfortable. Only about a block from Interstate 94, but didn't hear any truck traffic. Interior decor looked fresh and new. Tile floor in the bathroom needed some maintenance.
This was a great hotel to stay at. It was really nice. Staff very helpful and pleasant. The motel was very nice and clean. They welcome pets too. It was easy to find. It was quiet. Everything seemed pretty new. The breakfast was good too.
We were in this hotel for two nights for a family reunion. It was pretty typical of most motels in this chain. The breakfast room was minuscule with the rudest attendant on duty. She may have a very hard life but really shouldn't take it out on the guest. We moved a chair to our tiny table to squeeze in a 5th person, and she made gestures and grimacing faces until we'd returned it to its original spot. Luckily neither the food nor the ambiance of the room encouraged us to stay a second longer than necessary. Our room was comfortable enough, but we had to turn off the AC to avoid the "sleeping in the jetway" effect. Everything in the bathroom worked, and there was plenty of hot water with good water pressure, so it could have been a lot worse.
We were just traveling thru and needed a place to stay for the night. I was happy they had a fitness room but it didn't open until 8am so that didn't help me when I was hoping to be back on the road at this time. The room was ok. Beds were comfortable. The room was dirty but it didn't feel clean either. Hard to explain. The bathroom was really small. The sink and mirror was in the room right as you walk in the door and the toilet and tub are behind a door across from the sink. The tub drained really slow and it was like showering in the dark as the light was not very bright at all. The continental breakfast sounded really good. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and he wasn't very impressed. My daughter was really impressed with their cinnamon rolls and I thought their coffee was delicious. Overall... it was an ok place to rest our heads for the night.
This stay at the BW Alexandria more up than down. The evening front desk staff was courteous. Check-in was quick. The pool was nice and warm. Its depth is suitable for swimming, but is limited for small children. The hot tub looked dark and unappealing. Our room had very soft beds - if you like that. Definitely on the plus side, the shower head in the bathtub was up nice and high - high enough that someone tall doesn't need to bend down to get their hair wet!! Otherwise, the room left some room for improvement - clearly the vacuum cleaner had not gone further than the bed skirt (i.e., fries and animal cracker pieces under the bed). And the closet door needed maintenance, as it kept coming off its track. Outdoors there is a nice concrete picnic table where we enjoyed our breakfast. All in all, this turns out to be a mixed review. The sub-part stuff can be quite easily addressed.
