Best Western Premier Villa Fabiano Palace Hotel

This is billed as a four-star hotel, but it is really quite poorly run. One major downfall concerns the Wi-Fi, which does not work in the rooms AT ALL. The reception staff just kept pretending that it worked or at that they would reset the equipment or that they had called a service person to fix it. Six of us complained but they fixed nothing and their attitude was completely uncaring and indifferent. Other problems occurred in the bathroom. We had trouble getting the toilet to flush, the shower is tiny and it leaked all over the floor, and the shelf in the shower could not be reached by short adults. Again, the staff appeared to be annoyed when asked to fix the toilet. If we are talking about a four-star hotel, the basics, especially, ought to function at a high level. The management of this hotel does less essential things like providing slippers and a robe but fails to keep the true essentials functional. I would never stay here again.

Great hotel that we stayed at for two nights in August 2018. Rooms were very spacious and clean, also had a nice balcony to enjoy with seating. Morning breakfast was excellent, lots of different options and fresh baked goods. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Free parking outside the hotel was plentiful.

We stayed here for 3 nights and were impressed by the standard of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the size of the room was adequate. The only negative was the size of the shower, which whilst it was modern, was very small. The room was clean and the TV offered very good selections in English. The hotel restaurant is exceptional.

Spent three nights at this hotel as we were in the area for a friend's wedding. Location: the hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere, near the motorway so probably a good choice for stop over. We could however hear the busy roads from our balcony and even a bit with the windows closed. Staff: definitely the highlight here, the staff is friendly and courteous. Special mention (and thank you!!) to the lovely Canadian lady who checked us in and kindly arranged a taxi for us to come back from the wedding. Generally speaking the service at the hotel, from the reception staff to the restaurant and spa was just faultless. Bedroom/bathroom : the bedroom isn't massive, but it's nicely furnished. We went executive and had a nice balcony, we a little table and two chairs, that was nice. The A/C worked well, the bathroom only has the basics in terms of toiletries but that's enough. Shower was good too. The door of the bedroom was a bit flimsy and you could definitely hear people talking in the corridor as if they were inside, not great sound proofing. The executive room came with "free mini bar"... The mini bar wasn't replenished on day two which was underwhelming, but then we didn't complain... And it also features NO alcohol whatsoever... This felt a bit scammy as on the guide inside the room they explain the prices of mini bar items.... Including beer and prosecco. I can only assume they remove those when the mini bar is included... And that makes me question the value for money of the mini bar option. Spa : the room featured a free spa access, here very friendly staff, the spa has warm beds, sauna, hammam, funky showers with midst and massage nozzlea and if course a fairly big swimming pool. Nice. Food: we had dinner at the Quasimodo restaurant and also one breakfast. The breakfast is really good indeed, very nice spread of continental options, but of really good quality too. For 2 extra euros it's well worth it. All the cakes seemed homemade and tasted great. Dinner was equally great, outstanding waiting staff, again, and great ans innovative food. We would have eaten dinner here again happily if we had the occasion to do so. Big thumbs up for the food. Parking : there's loads of parking on site and it's secure. Overall only 4 stars because I'm not sure about the value for money. I've paid less for better rooms elsewhere, so I just think it's not quite justified at this stage. For example, we had to specifically ask for a kettle in the room... And the coffee wasn't replenished the following day. The TV didn't have any USB holes. The mini bar was meh, despite being an "upgrade". Not sound proofed enough etc.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at this hotel in Rende, conveniently located a few minutes drive from the Autostrada A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria on our way to Sicily. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms modern and there is plenty of hot water. Dinner in the restaurant is good with fresh ingredients and a varied menu including options for vegetarians. Breakfast is first class. We will return.

Very nice, comfortable hotel with an excellent buffet breakfast and expresso bar. We stayed two times, going and returning from Sicily. Our room was beautifully furnished with a tiled bathroom. Free, safe parking. About a mile away, at the highway intersection, is a street with many restaurants and other businesses. The staff was very pleasant and the hotel was an excellent value.

Picked this as a stopping spot between Sicily & Fiumicino airport. Was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel. Great rooms (best I've found in Calabria), courteous & informed staff, exercise room & indoor heated pool. We found all staff speak many languages & made us feel at home. In summation, it's a bargain.

Nice and clean and the restaurant that was very good (which incidentally was reccommended by the president of the Calabria Olive growers association. Staff friendly and eager to please. All spoke english as well.

We were traveling from a stay in Sicily when my husband, who was ill, felt that he needed to rest for the night before continuing our journey. We felt so very fortunate that a room was available at this lovely 4 star hotel. Soon, we were being welcomed in by the desk manager while the bellman brought in our luggage. Our room was large, bright and beautifully appointed, and was well supplied with linens and complimentary terrycloth robes and slippers. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was very relaxing. We both had steaks prepared to our satisfaction, and large salads with very fresh ingredients. We returned to the restaurant in the morning for breakfast, and were delighted with the huge assortment available. There were assorted pastries and breakfast cakes, plenty of fresh fruit and juices, cereals, and an omelet station, all included in the reasonable room rate. We left feeling refreshed and satisfied, and pleased that we'd found such a lovely place!

I recommend this modern and comfortable hotel as a well placed stop- over driving from North of Rome to Sicily. It is a six minute drive from the motorway, has all mod cons plus a restaurant that is more than adequate. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed, and the windows double glazed.

Stayed at this place for 3 nights. Stay was comfortable. Helpful front desk staff. Housekeeping should be trained to knock on door before entering. They barged in twice without knocking on the door. The music control in the bathroom freaks me out. I accidentally turned on the music couple of times in the night when using the bathroom. Why music in bathroom ? The place is in an isolated location. Got to use a taxi all the time and it all adds up. The restaurant is fabulous though and makes up for all the drawbacks. The food is amazing and we had dinner 3 nights here. Outstanding food and service.

Nice place, but the breakfast isnt english. Good pastry, but I prefer my abitude. My Housband is vegan and for him there were problems. Anyway is a very nice place even if the view is bad. There is also a spa

We stayed at the Premier Villa Fabiano Palace Hotel for 1 night in August prior to travelling to Sicily. Our suite was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The restaurant served delicious food and we had the perfect breakfast - the best we had in Italy. Rende is not a holiday destination but this hotel is great for a stopover.

I have started going to Cosenza once a month and started going to different hotels there. Villa Fabiano was recently built, has nice rooms, a functional gym, a helpful staff and a good restaurant. Definitely good money value and trust me: not many alternatives in the area.

Stayed in the hotel for 1 week business trip. I would like to thanks all the staff of there professionality amd courtesy. It has been a real pleasure to be surrounded by professionals, all customer oriented. Room and bathroom are nice even if the shower was too small. Restaurant was good even if some little cooking failures. Tasted excellent Calabrian wine. Willmgo back.

My children and I stayed at this hotel in the summer of 2014. We absolutely loved this hotel. The service is excellent and the rooms are spectacular. The only suggestion I have is that the hotel should have a self-serve laundry room for the guests. It would be so convenient. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I should be travelling in Calabria.

Best Western Villa Fabiano is close to the University of Calabria but quite far from the city center of Cosenza. The staff is very efficient and speaks well English. The rooms are nice, big and well-equipped. There is a SPA at the hotel and a large place for parking the car. The place is very calm during the night. The breakfast buffet is nice but composed mainly of sweet food. A very good place for a calm stay.
