Very clean. Great Facilities, cooked our own meals. Staff were more than helpful with a small problem we had. Quiet location. Gave us space to spread out. Perfect location for access to medical treatment.
We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions visiting family in Melbourne - we have always been totally satisfied on each stay with the service we have received. We have now joined the BW Rewards Programme and were even more delighted with the benefits on offer on our latest visit. We were greeted by Bhuwan on check in at reception - excellent service and we really appreciated our upgrade to a spa suite. Bhuwan was very professional, friendly and welcoming - it really set a positive tone for our trip. The rooms at the hotel are a little dated - it has to be said - but very comfortable, spotlessly clean and peaceful. We slept so well. Housekeeping is prompt and reliable. We ate every evening of our four night stay at the hotel restaurant Busby's. Thoroughly enjoyable and delicious dining! Well done to the chef he is amazingly talented - we were so impressed with every meal we had. The team at the restaurant were delightful - thank you so much to the lovely Marcy. What a charming young lady - excellent customer service and great conversation. We did miss restaurant manager Wilson on this visit and wish him all the best. We hope to see him on our next visit. We will be back for sure. Thank you to everyone at the hotel who made our visit so pleasant. We highly recommend the BW Highett.
We thought we would have a really nice night out AND close to home too.p, so we booked for dinner. Firstly, there was only one other person in the dining room, obviously a guest at the hotel....that should have told us something but we plotted on! Two very nice young waitresses, can only say good of them. The food? Can't say much good about that! We had (expensive) oysters as an entree and I put one in my mouth and, embarrassingly, spat it out...it was not BAD but it was definitely NOT good! Then came our (expensive) steak! Cooked as ordered but that's the best I can say for it..dead ordinary. It was not tender and was accompanied by quite forgettable sides. All in all, we left very disappointed and will not return.
We booked a 2 bedroom self contained apartment for 3 adults and were upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment. The 3 bedroom apartment was in the street a few houses along from the main office. This had its own driveway so was very easy to access. The apartment was huge and very clean. The only thing that I would change was the couch as it was very low and really hard for older people to get up off. We only stayed for 2 nights but could have easily stayed for more. This would be perfect for a family and perfectly situated close to shopping centre.
Stayed for a week for work, didn't want anything special just a room and a bed. Rooms were nice, a little on the old side but still kept clean. Restaurant on site had great food. Will stay here again.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Buckingham International. We had a quiet, clean and pleasantly decorated room. The bed was truly comfortable, providing us with a great sleeping environment. This hotel is excellent value.
If you need to work or travel in the South East of Melbourne then this is a great base close to train and good hotel with good food and service. Is located on Nepean Highway which makes car travel easy and the Sky bus from the airport stops and picks up there also.
Booked four rooms for an overnight business stay; convenient location. Front desk: very friendly and helpful; there was a hiccup with my Best Western Rewards Status re free room upgrade, bonus points and rewards points - frustrating! Rooms: the room I was allocated was very large and included all the basics plus a large tv. Unfortunatley the room was dated and the cleaniness not up to standard. Plenty of parking near rooms. Restaurant: on-site restaurant was convenient and we all enjoyed our dinner experience; good selection of meals and beverages. BF was basic but satisfactory. Would stay again however pre-empt visit by specifying room cleaniness expectations and Best Western Reward entitlements. On a seperate note - I would suggest this is a good hotel for golf trips...
A group of 16 of us stayed in the accommodation in March of this year. Accommodation comprised a mix of single rooms, apartments & townhouses. Excellent accommodation for this activity. Close to other amenities and have no trouble recommending to others. Staff very helpful.
Rooms where very dusty, cob webs over bed and in bathroom. The room smelt of cigarette smoke. The towels had stains on them and when we told the house maid she said they are done by outside contractors. The draws in the vanity in the bathroom where dirty. Thought for the price it would have been much better. Would not recommend this place.
Accommodation is basic but clean, restaurant is not cheap but food is worth the money. Only a 1km walk to Southland, no where near as noisy as expected considering the location, and free parking right outside our room. We would stay here again. All the staff were very courteous and friendly. They are an asset to this business.
We have found this motel consistently good over the last 4 stays. Rooms always very clean and well maintained, parking good, hot breakfasts are always lovely, evening meals are very well prepared and presented. Staff always very attentive, helpful and polite, particularly Wilson in the breakfast room who went out of his way to assist my ailing wife and I. We'll be back!
This is my fourth visit here - the friendly service and room quality is consistent - exactly what I like when regularly staying at a hotel. Friendly and efficient booking, checkin and checkout process. Wilson and Nina in the restaurant/bar are brilliant and their friendly attentiveness is appreciated. This isn't a modern, soulless place, it is an established hotel with a heart and I look forward to coming here - I wouldn't consider anywhere else.
It's a bit old and tired but a reasonable night's sleep in a reasonable bed. Pluses include that there is not much traffic noise, restaurants and shopping centre within 5 mins walk, and there are plenty of power points in the room. Big screenn tv, and stocked minibar. Minuses are: shower head (room 78) won't stay up so awkward showering, people outside on the balcony walkway smoking and talking till late, no lifts so need to drag suitcases up stairs, no mini bar price list in the room, and slow reception service. Friendly, but slow. Forgot to take the do not disturb sign off the door so that meant no room clean or fresh towels. My fault but maybe they could have checked by phone at some point in the day.
Stayed here for one night, as its location was perfect for a family function we were attending. We had an executive room, which was rather small but adequate for an overnight stay. The biggest bug bear that we had was that our room reeked of cigarette smoke, which is not managements fault as all their rooms are supposed to be smoke free. I contacted the front desk, and a staff member came and sprayed air freshener which only helped for a short time. This made our stay fairly unpleasant as we slept with the windows open all night to try and help , but to no avail. Hopefully housekeeping staff can be more aware of this in the future as reception staff agreed the smell was a bit over powering as well.
We had a comfortable stay, lovely breakfast and any staff we needed attended to our needs. In close proximity of our destinations. Quiet and comfortable. Also had good bathroom amenities, we enjoyed our stay.
The room I got was old and tired like me, The bathroom was dated and set up for disabled people which was not an issue but didn't meet the current standards at other hotels. The room was small and crowded and down a side alley.
Rooms are clean and the location was handy for where we needed to be. A bit of a hiccup around my upgrade due to Best Western status, but it wouldn't stop me staying here again. The restaurant and bar are well worth the visit - great food, well cooked and presented. The breakfasts are the best I have ever had in a hotel - fresh, hot and plentiful. I look forward to coming back here.
My Family stayed here in several rooms over two nights. Rooms were very comfortable, spacious and clean. Location was fantastic! Restaurant service was impeccable and meals were divine! Breakfast had great variety of choices and were a range of different teas!! Overall my experience here was of very high standard and would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends.
A few mates came over fom Adelaide recently and stayed here, the rooms were spacious with a huge bathroom and two double beds with flat screen tv and coffee, bar fridge, kettle and writing desk along with side tables next to the beds. A very clean room and lots of spacious car parks door front and even tables and chairs front side to sit and enjoy some morning coffee outside. The room service is available and we opted to dine in at the adjoining resturaunt, and fair to say between the three of us we had a great feed, all schnittys, and some great side dishes and entrees. The staff were the best friendly as you and i and were very accommodating to our extra needs, there is desert but we were full from the entrees and mains. Upon leaving, there is a small cocktail bar also with a small but wide range of wines beers and spirits, my mates spent about 300$ and were very pleased with the service by Aimee i believe. a great place and great location and venue.
We were here whilst renovations were happening. It served our purpose well. Clean and modern and comfortable. Good climate control, television and radio. Cleaning the room was a bit late in the day, after 2-30pm on the day I was there, but otherwise all smooth. Wifi is free, but painfully slow. Breakfast is fine but monotonous. Dinner in the restaurant had a limited selection, but as at breakfast, the service was very good.
The stay started off well. We arrived and paid for our nights accommodation. We then the next day requested to extend to another night and was informed no problems and we could fix it up on check out. Then the nightmare started, they pretty much called me and my partner liars and threw us out of the hotel. All because the payment didn't go through on my crdeit card. The bank was closed to call at 8pm, then the Front of House Manager rudely kicked us out even though I was informed I could pay on check out. Absolutely disgusting customer service.
Nicely done room, very good restaurant, Walking distance to train station, shops and Southland shopping center. Friendly staff. Renovations happening while I was there but did not cause any inconvenience.
Nice hotel to stay in out in the suburbs. We got a great deal through wotif & its was perfect for our 1 night stay. We found the room fine, bed, desk & a couple of chairs. Water pressure was very good. Bed was comfortable & the noise from the Nepean highway could hardly been heard. We would recommend this hotel. We had friends stay in a family room & they found their room comfortable & perfect for 2 adults & 2 young kids.
Owner Linda and her staff provide service with a smile all the time. Every thing I requested was taken care of right away and with an attitude of joy to be serving me. The food is fabulous - breakfast every day that is really good. I would stay here again and again. Parking is easy. Right across the street from Bayside Shopping Center which was so convenient for so many reasons.
Very good hotel situated on neapian highway meals excelant service excelant rooms with full air con and heating very good for the price swiming pool would be ok in summer time althogh not very large no good in winter time as not covered Hotel Location very good for us as working in a factory only 2.8 ks away from Hotel Railway station on 5 minuets waly away and good acces into Melbourne Trains run every fifteen minutes much chea[er than taxis 50 ausd to get to melbourne only aprox 7 ausd to melboure on the train
The staff and rooms were great. Even though the motel is on a major road and we stayed facing that road the room was quiet with no disturbance. The bed and facilities were of a high standard would definitely stay there again.
Really adorable classic Australian style hotel with newly high quality renovation in the bathroom and room furniture. Very modern and bright room lighting, comfortable bedding, high speed wifi. The complimentary breakfast is pretty good. We really enjoyed our long weekend stay.
Chose this hotel for the convenient location and I was pleasantly surprised! Staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were neat and modern but mostly I found the restaurant to be of superior quality. The food was gorgeous and the decor was chic but mostly I was impressed with the sophistication of the food provided. Busbys is high quality restaurant in its own right. You would not expect food like this here!
We chose the Buckingham because of it closeness to our meeting venue at the Kingston City Hall. Rooms were spotless, well appointed and beds comfortable. Nice hot water and plenty of shower pressure. I did notice that they have done a conversion to LED lighting as a power saving measure, lighting in rooms was great, better than many places I have stayed. Breakfast was a nice selection of either continental or full buffet. Staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended if in the part of Melbourne.
The hotel is near Westfield and also easy walk to shops Room extremely comfortable and overall great stay and excellent value. Only negative was had not been vacuumed as there was a cable tie makeup brush and other obvious areas on the floor. But was very clean apart from this. Definately would stay again.
Even though the weather was miserable the Buckingham was a good place to stay. The room was a high standard, clean and a reasonable size. The bed was very comfortable and the shower excellent. The only issues are parking which is tight and getting to the location is a little tricky. While the Buckingham is about 25min from the CBD there is a big Westfield Centre a few minutes away and Highett shops around the corner.
If you have reason to be in the South-East of Melbourne this is a good option. First of all it is conveniently located in terms of being on the Nepean Hwy. So plus points there. Also the turn off to it is located in a small additional lane separated from the main highway lanes by a cement/concrete/whatever barrier. So you won't have people flying up your proverbial while you are peeling off to get into the driveway. Next bonus is that there is ample parking here. And super friendly staff. The rooms are well appointed and it came across as a quiet place on my visit. There is a pool though this is Melbourne and I'm not sure how much use it would ever get. Just a short stroll down the road and around the corner is a street upon which there are several eateries serving a variety of different foods from around the world such as Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese. Also a welcome bonus is the proximity of the train station to the hotel and the fact that regular train services will deposit you into the CBD within 30 minutes or so. So if the fancy does take you then you can certainly get in there quickly and leave the car at the hotel. For those inclined to get a taxi keep in mind that's gonna set you back $50-$60. A hotel I'll definitely be staying at again. A couple of complimentary computers are available at reception which was a bonus to quickly check my emails when my laptop decided to stop working :)
We stayed here for two nights while my partner had a medical procedure nearby. Rooms are neat and tidy - they're also quietly tucked away from the noisy highway. Very close proximity to the Westfield shopping centre. Meals are really great quality but expensive.
I normally stay here each November for the golf tournaments near by. I've always had a great experience, so I stayed here for business recently rather than the city. Obviously its more low key than the city, great shopping at Southland and plenty of places to eat. PT close by (train). Nice sized rooms, good TV. Room service if you like or also eat at their restaurant. Join the Best Western rewards program (free) for better deals. I'll be back soon.
I stayed at the Buckingham for a week for business in the area. I found the hotel to be clean, well appointed and comfortable size room. I liked the location of the hotel as it was close to everything, including the Westfield shopping centre and Highett Street shops. The bathroom was small, but really good condition and I liked the water pressure in the shower, which in so important!! I found the bed too firm for my personal liking, which was a disappointment, but this could be fine for other travelers. If I had a more comfortable bed, would have been 5 stars. Great hotel otherwise.
We stayed here for two nights in a standard queen room. We were pleasantly surprised with how spacious our room was. It was spotlessly clean and well appointed. Our room package included breakfast. There was a well cooked an presented range of hot and cold foods, that were topped up regularly. The staff were friendly and efficient. Thank you Best Western.
We stayed at Buckingham for 3 nights in a executive room. We found all the staffs friendly and helpful. We booked a package deal through Buckingham website and it was cheaper than other website. The hotel is close to all the restaurants, train station and only 10 mins walk to Southland shopping centre. We would definitely stay there again.
My room clean and tidy. Pre warmed with heater on which was a plus. no extended meal times. Thus no room service food outside of evening meal and breakfast. Friends room blinds splattered with something but quick room change arranged. Good car parking and quiet surrounds.
Great Place clean and tidy as always - Second time we stayed. Great for couples and families and business. Close to major shopping centre has Coles, Kmart, BIG W, Target and other great shops and movies. Close to beaches of the south of Melbourne and not far about 10mins drive down the Nepean Highway then you at St Kilda where all the cafe's and eating spots and great cake shops and Luna Park and Beach. Train Station close as well.
We arrived to find there was a misunderstanding in relation to our executive room booking. The room we had booked was occupied. The staff in lieu of this then granted us with an update to the spa excutive suite. We can only say after this type of service and the quality of the room we will be back and in future book this type of room. So there is better communication with BW we have joined their membership. Well done BW and we will be back. Thank you for your great and thoughtful service.
On the many previous occasions I have stayed here I have never had cause to complain. This time requested repairs not done, cleaning of room not up to scratch and also slow, general standards not as good as previously. Need to improve to previous high level.
Would highly recommend staying at the Buckingham in Highett. Clean friendly accommodating in every way. Will be staying again and hopefully for longer. Right across from a great shopping centre only a matter of minutes travelling time to the beach, some great restaurants and cafes nearby and if you want to go to the city only about 20 minutes away. No hassles at all. Thank you Best Western for a great night!
It's clean and comfortable here and the beds are good. The bathroom was small but practical. It's quite noisy though and the rooms are very light at night. It was still a pleasant enough stay for the 3 of us overnight. The further back from the road the quieter it would be I suppose.
Very well presented hotel with great restaurant and bar on-site. In easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars, takeaway shops, RSL Club, supermarket and train station. Very helpful staff and good room service.
I've attached a photo I took of the guest survey which I filled out and gave to receptionist at check-out. It took nearly an hour after i checked-in to actually get into my room. Due to the uncleanliness of my initial room and then the alternative room i was offered. From dust covered tables, floors that had not been vacuumed properly, a few stray hairs and a bed head and desk chair with rips in them. To be told that the initial room i had been booked into was "out of order" and i should not have been placed there to begin with. Apart from a $20 refund offered to me, which i am yet to be given there was no complimentary meals or drinks offered. A complete stuff around which i paid $191 for. Won't be going back thats for sure! The only good thing about my stay was the lovely and empathetic reception girls that I dealt with. The manager i dealt with briefly lacked empathy making me feel as if i was being pedantic.
Having stayed in Best Western hotels many times before both at home and in the US we knew we couldn't go wrong. This hotel in Highett is just 12 miles from the City center and located on a main highway, but although it is a very busy road the rooms are exceptionally quiet. Lovely outdoor pool area with sun loungers and also a shaded area with comfortable seating. From check in to check out the service we received was top class. We requested a top floor room and that is what we were given . The room was large nicely decorated and had a very comfortable bed. Free WiFi was excellent. We chose this hotel mainly because of its proximity to the train station as we wanted to visit Melbourne but did not want to drive into the City. Train station was only a five minute walk away and trains ran every ten minutes. We were a little confused about how to purchase train tickets but the young girl in reception explained about the Myki which for a cost of $14 each would give us unlimited travel on the train, trams and buses in Melbourne for one day which was all we wanted. We were able to purchase this at reception. It probably worked out cheaper than parking the car. Short walk to restaurants although on our first night which was a Monday a lot were closed.
We had a family room for the four of us for a night's stay. It was clean and cosy. The hotel was really nice, especially the exterior design! Many parking lots and the location was convenient. The reception staff was very friendly and check-in and out was fast too. Recommended and we'll definitely come back!
This hotel has an ideal location for shoppers with south land only a few blocks away. The rooms are large and very well cleaned. Perfect for a short stay. Staff are friendly. Only let down was the room service breakfast - not worth paying for at all you're better off going out for brekky.
We stayed here a few years ago so picked the same place again. It is a handy location for us. Southland is close by. There is free internet which is good. Not that I watched much TV but it needs to be a bit easier to use.
One thing about booking & staying with Best Western is you can generally be assured of what you are getting wherever you stay - bit like McDonald's. Overall a decent place with the room (standard Queen) being of generous size with work desk & chair, good lighting, comfortable QS bed and all the amenities you would expect. 42" flat screen was good & also had complimentary Foxtel. WiFi was also complimentary with decent signal strength & speed. Parking is a bit of a free for all, but I was lucky to get a park in front of my room. As it filled up with guests, people were having to find parks where they could. Located on a service road just off the main highway, noise was not really obvious from inside the room. My room backed on to the gate to the pool & even though there were a number of people using it, again noise was only minimal & not even really noticeable with the TV on. Within walking distance around the corner are a number of restaurants, cafes, etc and also a short drive to many others (5 min max). Restaurant on site, but I only used that for breakfast, which was the usual buffet style fair (but quite reasonable quality), albeit with not a lot of choice. Everything was clean & tidy & staff were friendly & helpful. My credit card was charged for a nights' accommodation even though I had prepaid the room. Front desk staff fixed that up straight away in the morning, crediting the difference back to my card & emailed me through a Tax Invoice.
As always we had a wonderful stay at this hotel and will always return. We highly recommend this well positioned, clean, quiet hotel to anyone needing accommodation in the Highett, Victoria district. The staff are always professional and very accommodating.
The Buckingham is a nice, simple and clean hotel - fairly stock standard however it has many ticked boxes. The price is fair and there are several amenities and a restaurant. The internet is fast and lots of parking.
A fine surprise, we got an upgrade for a Feb. 2016 stay. Instead of a regular room, we got a two bedroom motel room, sleeping four. This review therefore does not necessarily reflect the quality of a "normal" room. The room had all we desired, lots of space (beware: upgrade) although the shower and bathroom as a whole are best described as small. Public transport is not too far away (walking distance est. 500 meter) with direct trains to the CBD.
Excellent room with usual amenities. tea/coffee making facilities. mini bar frig. toiletries, etc. Comfortable bed. Good substantial breakfast .Friendly staff, especially in dining room.Bar with good range of wines.
Stayed here in February, rooms are small, beds are old and concaved with terrible pillows. Stayed with my wife and 2 boys aged 3 and 1. Firstly they wanted to bill me extra $50 for getting room earlier, but waived the charge, it was 11.30 in the morning, it took 3 attempts to obtain a key pass to the room. The place seems quiet enough is close to good shops and restaurants. Was offered a discount to breakfast in the morning which we decided to try came to $45, and upon checkout received a bill for $60. They actually charged me $15 for my 3 and 1 year old to eat mind you a piece of toast and some watermelon and small glass of apple juice. I have never ever been charged for my kids, no price board at front either to indicate costs either, so families be careful with this one. At least Ali was nice at the office. Terrible business attitude
We chose to stay here as it was close to where our daughter is living. We enjoyed the fact that it was a 10min walk to one of the best Westfield Shopping Centres in Melbourne (outside of Chadstone) and only an 8-10min walk to the Highett train station. We loved the fact that this hotel had a swimming pool and a gym facility and chose it to begin with for these two facilities. Whilst we didn't utilise the restaurant and bar facilities on this visit, they were there also. Our room was clean and tidy and you had the option of having your room serviced daily, or not. The staff were all very friendly and cheerful and took pride in their work. I would recommend this hotel to other visitors and would stay here again, if we were to needing to stay in Highett or the nearby suburbs.
I booked this hotel on Booking.com believing it was in Brighton and near the beach. Imagine my horror and disgust to discover I'm in a crappy motor inn on a busy highway in the middle of industrial nowhere land and not a grain of sand to be seen - Shame on the Buckingham and the booking agents for their fraudulent misrepresentation of their location - BEWARE
Nice hotel, lovely staff. Nice clean grounds with good parking. Staying here for work and only disappointment is the size of the rooms which are quite small especially if staying for a few days or more. Other than that everything else is above standard.
Booked for an evening of light entertainment for New Years Eve, was not disappointed, the setting was well organized and had a very festive appeal it set the mood for a lovely evening. The meal, a set menu, was fine, well cooked, tasty and nicely presented, nothing outstanding but then we knew what was on the menu when we booked, staff are very friendly and service was impeccable. Entertainment, a solo singer who provided his own music was energetic and very accomplished, would have liked another singer maybe female to balance the night out a bit as the night progressed his performance did wayne a bit, but overall a pleasant night and well worth the money. we also decided to stay the night as we live a distance away so drinking and driving would not be a good mix. Accommodation was fine comfortable clean and affordable. Overall a very pleasant evening and good start to the new year.
The room was clean and well appointed. The ensuite was also clean and well appointed with plenty of hot water. The only negative was the airconditioner was directed onto the bed and could not be redirected. Maureen60
This newish motel just south of Morabbin on the Nepean Hwy is a wonderful and affordable location if you have to find accommodation on the way to Frankston.. Units are comfortable with good beds, all the usual amenities and toaster included. Units are very quiet from road noise. Car access is fiddly as it is on a service road so prepare yourself with GPS . A good 15 min walk to nearest railway station. Reception was efficient; room in excellent condition, excellent black-out curtains (we slept in), shower a bit fiddly to obtain best heat blend, free wi-fi., occasional chairs so you don't have to sit on the bed to watch TV. Excellent rates through Booking.com. Breakfasts rather pricey ($22) as were all meals in the attached restaurant however you are within a few km of a major shopping centre and lots of street -restaurants and breakfast cafes. Overall, good place to stay but eat elsewhere. We have already booked to stay there again in January
Everything about this establishment is 'value for money'. Great beds, well equipped room, excellent shower, big tv, good security, easy parking, cheap laundry, excellent service, very close to lots of shopping options and my favourite 'Busbys' their in house French restaurant. Value for money is important to me and this one is right up there if you like a few extra boxes ticked.
Great hotel in the southeast of Melbourne, I stay here every year to watch the Australian Masters Golf which rotates around the famous Melbourne Sandbelt courses. Hotel is very clean, plenty of car parking and a restaurant if you wish to eat in. The showers have good consistent water pressure which is a must for me. It's very close to Southland shopping centre if that's your thing. Also only a 5 minute walk to the train station if you wish to head for the city.
The Buckingham is a friendly hotel, rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The air conditioner provided good temperature control. Accommodation rates offer good value. It is well located for visiting this area of Melbourne. I recommend booking an executive room . If you are being picked up by friends or family during your visit a room at the View street end of the building allows easy access. Highett has good train access, a range of restaurants, a RSL and a supermarket. The hotel is also not far from Southland Shopping Centre.
This hotel had friendly staff, the room was clean, the shower good and the bed comfortable. I didn't see any electric blankets so if I was staying on a cold night I would have preferred one. There was a spare blanket in the cupboard which I used. I also used the iron which was not very good. I was happy as you couldn't hear the traffic noise from Nepean Highway in my room but I had a late night out and when I went to bed I could hear the people in the next room talking. They were still talking at 4am so I didn't get much sleep. The breakfast in the dining room was ok but I'm not keen on loud TV in the morning, which they had on a news channel. I'd prefer music. Parking is 'anywhere you can get' which was generally a fairly long way from my room.
I booked this place based on its 4 star hotel class. It probably scored just by having key things in place. But it can never compare to proper 4 star establishments. This aside. The service was overall average. Some staff were quite smiley and friendly and others were just bland. Checkin late at night was the mostly bland part. Breakfast was way simple and probably acceptable for local standards but internationally a 4 star accomodation lives up to twice higher standards than this best Western. Where is the 4 star spread? Room was large. Bathroom had heater lighting. Basic but well equipped room. Mini bar too (helps towards a 4 star rating). Bed was good for sleeping not too hard nor too soft. Would be great for room heater during the winter freeze. The so called resturant is also very basic. It's same place where Breakfast is laid out. Also another signal of trying scoring towards their 4 star rating. But is it really a 4 star resturant. Prices were low compared to typical 4 star accomodation but thats because they offer much less than a proper 4 star. On the price alone and the claimed star rating customers make a decision. My verdict. Try not to mislead the customer. Call yourself a 3 star or 3.5 star and at the same prices you will still get customers. Meeting customer expectations is important especially when you claim to be a 4 star.
We have stayed at the Buckingham several times over the years and have always found it surprisingly quiet, as we come from a rural setting. The rooms are very clean, plenty of hot water, extra blanket, everything you need. Staff are exceptional, especially when an unwell husband left his wetpack behind, complete with puffer, pills and special electric razor! This was sent to us by Express Post and received the next day. What service - this is really above and beyond the call of normal duty and all done with a very caring attitude. Thank you - we will be back!
I stayed here for 1 night in the month of August 2015 as had some meetings in the same area. The rooms are quite good and comfortable. They have ample parking space. Their breakfast was also excellent. The staff is also friendly. I would recommend this hotel based on the location.
I give presentations up to 60 people here. The set up is great and always works and there is always someone there for technical help. Downstairs is a restaurant and bar. I also stay here for convenience. Some of the rooms are a little older but very comfortable and clean. Staff is very helpful. Buffet breakfast starts early and is great for travellers.
Charming hotel far exceeded expectations. Friendly staff, beautiful brick drive, fountain, gardens, in-house restaurant. Very clean room (and bathroom), comfortable bed. Exercise room, laundry facilities.
