Very comfortable and impeccably clean. Nice modern furnishings. Friendly to us despite our late arrival after driving endlessly through flooded roads. Reasonably priced. Good menu with a variety of tasty things to choose from. Thank you.

Motel room was spacious and offered all amenities. Best part of our visit was dinner at their Cascades Restaurant. The main menu included divine Chicken Mango Curry, Braised Lamb Shank and Grilled Barramundi. Desserts do not disappoint. In particular, Death by Chocolate. Do consider this wonderful facility.

We recently stayed 2 nights with friends and this place is certainly worth a visit. Front office staff gave us information on places to visit while in town and couldn't have been more helpful. Certainly recommend Best Western Ascot Lodge for people visiting town. The attached restaurant is worth visiting also while here, highly recommended.

A very enjoyable 4 night stay in Goondiwindi at Best Western. Room was very well presented with a modern look and colour palette. Rooms are spacious, very clean and management and staff very helpful. I do not opt for room clean everyday but was still offered the option. Would highly recommend but make sure you book in advance as it was busy. Thank you.

Great stay. The managers were so helpful and friendly. Staff in the restaurant were relatively new to Australia but very keen to help. Good food. Rooms are a good size and the a/c was turned on before we got there! To warm up our room. Happy to stay again

This is the Best Motel. The Staff are extremely helpful & pleasant, the Motel is clean & very comfortable. It is great having a lovely resturant to go to for Dinner & breakfast & is quiet at night. We have been staying there for years & have always found it the very very good.

If you're heading to Goondiwindi make this your stop! The gentlemen at reception were fantastic and the food at Cascades was lovely - trust me, don't skip dessert, sticky date pudding was so YUM! Perfect little stop for a quick business trip out - will definitely be returning!

Excellent service had to work late so they organised a meal at 830pm and when they didn't have what I ordered they gave me another meal for the same price and threw in a free sticky date which was absolutely fantastic couldn't have asked for any better Thank you Paul and Danelle you are running a fantastic motel

I can highly recommend this motel for the friendliness and great service of the staff, the ease of check in and check out, the cleanliness of the rooms and the quality of the food in their restaurant. This was one of the best motels that we stayed at in Queensland

A nice stay was had at Best Western Ascot Lodge , Goondiwindi. A very nice property that appears to be not that old. Rooms are well appointed with everything you would expect. The restaurant dinner was nice and staff excellent.

This is our fourth stay now at the BW and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly, obliging, courteous and above all very professional. The rooms are well appointed,clean and spacious. The restaurant is of a high standard and very reasonably priced. For us, after being in the vehicle for most of the day and looking for a great rest stop, this is the place.They do, stay,eat,sleep extremely well. Highly recommend.

We had driven over 900 km and having stayed at a couple of very basic motels we were looking for something with a bit of quality about it. We certainly found it with this establishment. From the moment we walked into reception we new we had what we wanted. Yes it is more expensive but we got what we paid for. Even the milk we were given was in a proper little milk bottle not those terrible little drinking cartons which spill every where when you try to pore from them. The room was spacious with a large bathroom. An added bonus is Cascades Restaurant which is attached to the motel. The décor is spectacular and the food delicious. Take advantage of their happy hour; $5 for a glass of wine or beer.

My husband and I always stay at Ascot Lodge when travelling through Goondawindi. The rooms are modern and clean and the management very helpful. Cascades Restaurant provides a tasty dinner or you can order room service. A great place to stay in the area

Rooms at the ascot are quite modern, very clean and well presented. We had a celebratory dinner at the restaurant and the food was great but they were a little understaffed and couldn't make cocktails so that was a little disappointing. There is a great looking pool on site but didn't bring the swimming togs unfortunately.

I was hot and tired after driving from Hobart over 3 days including the ship...it was pure joy to find a hotel that was clean, smart and friendly. Having a restaurant on site was great and it has a very nice wine list. Just loved it. Stay there. Really, stay there!

Had not stayed in a Best Western for some years. Very happy with the experience. Large modern bathroom, big comfortable bed and quality sheets, towels, pillows etc. Pool nice for a dip or two. Staff very helpful Quiet location just out of town ( but still on main road) so car needed if you want to have a meal in town.

I've stayed in Gundy a few times for work, given this place is a little out of town and not really in walking distance I've always avoided it. I decided to spend my next trip here and due to the high TA rankings I thought why not. Rooms are ok, beds extremely average and extremely noisy with the highway traffic. Had room service on one evening and it was good. Plenty more options in town, not sure why this is 1st, 401 reviewers can't be too wrong!!

Exception service,, quality of dining and cleanliness was outstanding.we would certainly stay at this motel again if ever in Gundy. The Manager ensured that our every need was fulfilled. The dining experience was such a wonderful surprise.

I stayed here for work over about a month. Very clean and modern rooms, spacious showers, friendly staff. Food at the restaurant is top quality. I've seen it's a bit more expensive than other hotels in the area but probably worth it after seeing what the others are like. Would recommend if you have to stop on your travels. Honestly don't have a bad thing to say.

We stayed here as a stopover on way home. Was pleasantly surprised how nice it was considering a motor in. Clean comfy beds good towels and bedding. Room service food good and prompt. Would stay here again when traveling. Clearly a well looked after.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable queen room, great food at the restuarant. Easy check in process. We were in a room that had a door to an adjoining room which did allow for noise to travel between rooms.

Spacious; clean and comfortable room. Was very pleased that the bed had sheets and blankets instead of a doona . Quiet location off the highway. Pleasant dining room. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the service was excellent.

Lovely motel in a good location, great dinner in the restaurant and fab brekky options. Spacious room, easy parking and staff we encountered provided great customer service. Pool and outdoor are also looked very inviting if we'd had time to use them

We stayed here one night. Good size motel room, comfortable bed and nice to have a two seater lounge. The room was well maintained, all modern including bathroom and bright art work. It's about a 10 to 15 minute walk into town. It's an easy stroll, but at night you will need to drive downtown

The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Rooms had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and exceptionally well priced. Owner was helpful and generous, assisting us with travel advice and enabled our party to all stay in rooms next to each other which made our stay very enjoyable. Highly recommend staying here.

The Ascot Lodge in Goondawindi is where we always stay in Goondawindi. The rooms are modern and very clean and the staff are very accomodating and friendly. Best motel in Goondawindi, highly recommend .

Sadly only stayed here for one night passing through the area. Reservations were extremely helpful, advising me to make dinner reservations in advance at the on site restaurant Cascades which was a great tip as they appeared full on my visit. Check in was prompt and contactless, and I was asked if we wanted milk in our room, I inquired wistfully if lactose free milk might be available, “of course” was the answer which was unexpected but extremely helpful after a long day of travelling. In the room were menus for breakfast and dinner, and an option for a packed lunch as well, which we gladly took up as had a long journey the following day again. Pool towels were provided for use of the pool on request, and had we have stayed longer, their guest laundry would have also had a use too. The restaurant (and sandwiches for lunch) were excellent, so many choices for kids, adults and many dietary requirements. Didn't have breakfast, but room service looked great. Overall a great stay and was a welcome relief to stay in such a top notch full service establishment. Pictures attached of room service breakfast menu, packed lunch menu and dinner menus.

Best Western Ascot Lodge has great rooms, that provide a great amount of space, always clean and tidy. Room Service is excellent great quality large meals served hot and at time requested. Quiet location, perfect for business or family travel.

Very clean rooms with nice toiletries.One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in!! Restaurant is unusual with cathedral ceiling and bar area but lacks table coverings, a result of Covid restrictions but, very nice varied menu with something for everyone, good wine/drinks list. Pricing is competative. Staff very attentive to cleaning when tables vacated. Nice pool area with lounges.

Recently I travelled for work with a colleague and we were so impressed with the service and food options at Best Western Ascot in Goondi. The food was exceptional and that restaurant is beautiful - love the waterfall wall.

Our meals were exceptional. The sort of quality you would only expect from a high end city restaurant. Staff were very friendly & attentive without being in your face all the time. I had no problems with our bed although my wife said she found it uncomfortable (we have a very comfortable bed at home).

After a long road journey I arrived at this delightful little hotel in Australia's outback. It was a little oasis of charm and efficiency. Everything was tastefully done and very clean.The food was excellent and the bed was the best I had slept in, in a hotel, ever.

We had two nights here as part of a road trip in SouthEast Queensland. The welcome was very friendly and the room spacious and comfortable as well as very clean. As we had driven from Roma, we decided not to go looking for somewhere else to eat but have dinner in house. We were absolutely stunned by the quality of the seafood chowder risotto and lamb shank. The accompanying pumpkin, feta and walnut salad was a delight. It was so good we ate there twice. The second night we had bacon and chicken pasta and chicken wrapped in parma ham. The only disappointment was that the dauphinoise potatoes were not available on the second night. Katerina's service was friendly and efficient. We both really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone wanting accommodation in Goondiwindi

Spent three nights at the Ascot during the Covid lockdown, Paul and his team couldn't have been more helpful and hospitable to us. The rooms are very clean and modern, and the facilities were excellent. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

Fantastic food and service. Would definitely recommend. Though the option for a King bed would just make this place perfect. Overall the room is clean and well equiped and staff where very friendly. Great place.

Stopped in on way to Victoria. Met by friendly front desk. Room is spacious and bathroom larger than normal. Parking is tight but doable. All requirements are in the room and the Cascades restaurant in the facility is very good. A bit out of town, but worth it.

We had a lovely welcome and accomodation was really clean and comfortable. Excellent onsite restuarant. Could check mattresses occassionally for replacement, as ours already had existing compression, showing signs of wear. However we would definitely stay again.

My husband and I had a long drive , approx eleven hours and needed to stop . This motel turned out to be perfect . It was clean, quiet and affordable. Off street parking,friendly staff and an onsite restaurant offering a good range of meals. We don't head this way often but will stay here again when next up this way.

This is the second time we have been here and I really like it.Nice and bright.Roomy in the bathroom,great shower nice towels.We went for dinner in the restaurant got two for one for only $30 and the meal was great.

Near the highway (no noise from traffic) and a good over night stopping accommodation for travellers travelling in both directions. Clean large rooms with a good restaurant. Clean pool and very friendly staff. Stopped there travelling to and from Queensland over the 19/20 Chrissy New Year Break. Good honest accommodation and service.

We were welcomed after a ten hour car trip with quick service, fresh milk, a clean room and a really comfortable bed. Cascades is the motel's restaurant with reasonable prices and specials for each night of the week. Most enjoyable.

We checked in on a very hot Christmas Eve. The gentleman on the reception was welcoming and helpful and made sure we had enough milk, towels etc over the Christmas day closure. When we got to our room we were pleasantly surprised. The twin room was extremely clean, very spacious and well appointed. The bed was so comfortable with lovely quality linen and pillows - and it was very quiet. Large bathroom with great shower. There is also an inviting pool with pool towels and deck chairs. Because we were there over Christmas, the restaurant wasn't open. Highly recommend this motel - we will definitely stay again.

Very neat, spotlessly clean, well presented with pleasant management - really, as good as it gets! No road noise at all. Pool area, restaurant and rooms were all well presented/maintained. The owner said to me they like to think of themselves as a ‘City Motel, just out in the country' and they meet that brief very well.

Staff at the motel were friendly and helpful on checkin and allowed us to checkin early. Found the car parking area was undercover which was great as it was very hot. The room had been set up and let with the air conditioner on, so it was a pleasant relief from the day. Huge shower!! Very pleasant decor with interesting art work instead of the normal boring bland items. Cascades Restaurant had a happy hour from 5 till 6 pm offering $5 wine and beer. Water curtains around the outside walls gave us its name and lent a cool refreshing feel to the space. The food was good, but not great. All up highly recommended.

Great motel on the edge of town. Small pool that is great after a hot day. Good restaurant - both breakfast and dinner. Happy hour drinks. Good rooms with good air con and comfortable beds. Free WiFi.

Great value for money. 4 star. Clean, beautiful, large.. Mini bar, restaurant. All you could ask for, then some. Surprising up market for a small country town. Highly recommended. I will certainly stay here again whenever I travel this way.

Hotel is situated slightly out of town but walkable. The room we stayed in was very good and had everything you need. The food in the restaurant was very good although it is a very functional restaurant. Very good value for money.

This was our second night on the road after driving from the south coast of Victoria, so it was a welcome sight to arrive in Goodi'. The Ascot Inn is close to the highway and easy to find. Evem though our room was at the front it was quiet. Having the restaurant on site made the choice of where to eat easy. The food was good and reasonably priced

Great location, quiet area, comfy beds, only complaint is the noisy people from Aurecon a couple of rooms down, who thought it was okay to make a lot of noise at 3.50am. Have a bit of consideration for others you inconsiderate people.

A wonderful place to stay with the friendliest staff. Family suite was perfectly sized with a seperate room for children with their own TV, air conditioning, desk, mirror and two single beds both with bedside tables. Large bathroom. Very clean. On-site restaurant was superb and they also offer room service. Very easy check-in and out. Would certainly stay there again.

Firstly, we would like to compliment the Reception staff and the Restaurant staff. They were all friendly and helpful. The room was exactly what we had asked for and more. Very clean and updated. The bed was comfortable. Undercover parking for our car right outside our room. Yes, the old Motel style accommodation. Cascades Restaurant was absolutely beautiful with the clear glass waterfall windows. The food was also good and well prepared. They have a happy hour from 5 to 6pm, all drinks $5. Great after a long drive. Definitely return to this Motel. Cost $144 per night.

Very comfortable place to stay. My family and I stayed here for 4 days whilst on vacation. The surrounding area is so beautiful. I love this city. The lodge is so comfortable, the staff make you feel so at ease with everything. The rooms are large, beds are comfortable and clean. Room service are fast if you need anything at night. I highly recommend this place!

Cannot speak highly enough of our stay. I tend to be fussy with cleanliness and have to say our room and facilities were spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant Cascades has amazing yummy and well presented food and again everything was spotless and staff were friendly and welcoming. Would recommend staying here to anyone who needs to stop over in Goondiwindi

Overnight stay in a very clean and well equipped room. Well situated in the area and a quiet spot. Plenty of space to move around. Meals in Restaurant were delicious and well presented. Very clean and friendly staff.

Very disappointed this time. Mattress and sofa clapped out. Internet signal unusable. No complimentary drinking water - disgraceful. 2 bed suite poorly designed (bed 2 users have to walk past bed 1 users to get to bathroom) Friendly, helpful and efficient staff however.

So nice to know there's a room available at the Ascot at Goondiwindi at the end of a long day travelling. Joel in reception is a friendly voice on the phone and a helpful Manager in reception. The restaurant has good service and good food. The room is comfy with good amenities. We always book in there.

Everything that you would expect from a country hotel - well maintained and a good warm room. The no vacancy sign was up on a Wednesday night, which is always a good sign and the feed from the adjoining restaurant was quite good. There was seven of us in our crew and we all loved our dinner and breakfast options.

Our room was very modern and comfortable, clean and spacious, couldn't fault it. Service was above and beyond as we were tired and hungry, we were well looked after. Bathroom was beautiful and modern with lots of space.

Nice room which had comfortable beds. Very hard sofa. Fridge useful but refer less extensive non bar. Good shower. Reasonable value. Modern decor means it could be anywhere. A bit lacking in soul. Ok lace to stay a night if adding through.

We only stayed for one night but found the property to be in excellent condition and would stay there again. There appeared to be a good restaurant there, but as we didn't eat at it, I cannot comment further.

We have been staying here since 2004, they year have maintained the place in excellent as built condition, restaurant is great catering for many dietary requirements. The service is great from booking, check in, on site service and to check out. Covered parking is a plus as when it rains it sure does. The rooms are well appointed, shower about the best ever. The hosts are friendly a very welcoming place to stay.

I can understand why this property has a large number of positive reviews. Its refurbished rooms are well-presented, the bathroom is large and little things like an adequate shelf for soap etc is provided and the desk has a light above for those wanting to do some work (something that some rather new motels don't always have). The air-conditioning was quiet, under-cover vehicle parking provided and power points provided at the desk, although there could be some provided adjacent to the beds and bedside height. Customers have a multitude of devices these days that need charging. The wi-fi worked well and, as would be expected these days, was free. Little things like a choice of full-cream or trim milk at reception lift this motel above others. The restaurant is open seven days a week, something that is not common in country motels, especially in smaller centres. The 6.30 am breakfast start in the restaurant was appreciated as I had a reasonably early start. The evening meal at the Cascades restaurant, although from a limited weekend menu, was excellent and I was especially pleased to see that GF, Vegan and Vegetarian options are provided - something that is not always available or publicised in country motel restaurants. This lifts this restaurant's standard above many clubs and pubs. I paid $127.50 a night for my room which was a bargain for the accommodation standard. The same rooms can be at around $144 at busier times but that still represents excellent value for money. I had stayed at the Burke and Wills Motel at Moree a little earlier and was charged $150 a night for a room nowhere near the standard of the Best Western Goondiwindi. This seems to be a reasonable comparison when one when one considers that Moree's population is 7,300 while Goondiwindi's is 5,500 (2016 Census) There is just one thing: The "Cascades Restaurant" is not really publicised well on the motel website, in fact the only mention is "Restaurant on site" - no mention of its name or menu or that it is open seven days a week or the opening hours. There needs to be better integration of the restaurant publicity with the motel. The restaurant has its own identity but a visitor unfamiliar with Goondiwindi may not know of the link between the motel and the restaurant. The web site also mentions the motel is close to "NSW Government Offices" . Goondiwindi is in Queensland, not NSW. The nearest NSW Government Offices are in More, 124 km from Goondiwindi.

Enjoyed our stay in super clean, spacious room and big bathroom. Everything you need provided. Plus Cascades restaurant serves high quality a la carte breakfast. Amazing choices and fresh food. Even has espresso coffee. Staff were all very helpful and cheerful. Quiet and peaceful, parking at the door. Great place highly recommended.

Great accommodation in Goondiwindi, 10 minute walk into Centre, once your day finished good place to stay, good sized rooms clean and well kept, restaurant was excellent, service good food better. Helpful staff. Stay here again.

After spending many trips in Brisbane having to either put my suitcase on the floor or the flimsy fold out stands it was a relief to see the cutout for my suitcase. The room also has a small lounge and coffee table, excellent so you do not feel like the bed is the only place to sit. The only fault I have with the room is a regular one of the coffee cups are small, larger mugs would be great. The bed is comfortable and if you do not want to go to the bar ( though happy hour is between 5 and 6 pm, there is a well stocked mini bar. There is room service at no extra charge. The restaurant offers a broad selection, a little above average price wise though I enjoyed the special of beef stroganoff, which had sufficient flavour and sauce. Dessert was a little light on for those of us with a nut allergy, though not on the menu I was given options. I chose the affogatto which is served with my choice of liquor and the drambuie worked a treat. Finished with a port I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I recommend the motel and restaurant for its comfortable and friendly service and atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our stay with our 91 year old mum the accomodation was great Comfortable bed. Super clean everything perfect great attention to detail. Recommend the restaurant our evening and morning meals delicious fresh and prompt service. The staff and management made you feel very welcome. Can't wait to go back and stay again..

the rooms a well appointed and very comfortable with everything that you need. Plenty of space and the bed was very comfortable the only thing missing was enough power points near the bed as my husband has a cpap machine and we found that there was not a power point near the bed for this purpose

The room was in great condition, the air con worked well and we had no issues whatsoever with any of the amenities. The staff were very friendly - a real highlight. We will definitely be staying here in future trips.

Returned again for a night in passing through town. Friendly welcome from Paul, efficient check in, and found my assigned room to be fresh and clean. Standards have definitely been maintained. I was tempted again by room service, and my tender steak was well cooked to order and delivered quickly. The rooms have everything this traveller wants for an overnight, including peace and quiet at night for good sleep. Bed was great, bathroom large and all things worked as they should. Will return next time through Goondiwindi.

Stayed here for one night to attend a 70th birthday function. We received a friendly greeting at reception and were advised about the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. As we were attending a function at another venue we didn't take up the offer. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There was well maintained under cover parking which was a bonus. When we mentioned to others where we were staying a number of locals advised that the restaurant was very good and we should try it when next in town. Will definitely stay here again.

We mark Ascot Lodge as a 'must stay' when we head to or from Brisbane to visit family. We are always happy to eat at the restaurant as there is great attentive, pleasant service and a lovely fresh meal. The room is always very clean and the bed comfortable.

Set back from the road so very quiet. Enjoyed happy hour after a long drive. Pool was clean and inviting. Spacious rooms and large shower. Very well presented .Very good on site restaurant made our stay even more enjoyable

We stopped here after a long day driving, the gentleman at the front counter was very friendly and professional. We were given a choice of the room configuration that best suited us and went with an interconnecting room (family of 5), for $220. The rooms were a good size, both with 1 queen and 1 single bed and ensuite. He happily gave us a couple of extra milks for the children. We decided to order room service, and it was delivered in good time (compared to many other hotels we've stayed at!). The meals were delicious and we were most impressed! We had a load of washing to do, and despite being quite late - staff happily obliged and kept the laundry room open for us. We all had a good nights sleep, and checked out the following morning, We'd highly recommend this motel if your in the area or passing through, it's clean, comfortable and staff are welcoming and professional.

We found the listing for this place on a web search and decided by the pictures it was the better looking room compared to the others listed. Very clean and modern rooms, hot shower and clean amenities. We didn't get a chance to look around or use the pool due to late arrival. Fantastic front of house service.

A good location with a clean, modern unit with a lovely big bathroom with walk-in shower, comfortable bed, good lighting. Restaurant has excellent meals and breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

Great option for a stop if driving the inland route from Melbourne - Brisbane. Staff were friendly - especially my German friend in the restaurant. I had an evening meal at the restaurant and that was also pretty decent. AC leaked after being on a while, otherwise no complaints.

Stayed here 2 nights in Feb 2019 as part of an unscheduled road trip from the Gold Coast to escape tropical cyclone Oma. Weather was 35c and sunny, so that was very tempting to visit Goondiwindi,even tho I knew very little about the town beforehand. Motel rooms were immaculately clean and very modern. Everything you could need. I had a room with queen sized and single bed in it. Ideal for me and my friend. Big shower area with plenty of hot water at great pressure. Tea/coffee facilities in room too. They had a proper chef in restaurant so food was more than just your usual basic offerings. Small pool but motel was quiet at the weekend so was perfect to soak up the rays and have a dip to cool off. Only a mile from town so easy to walk there if you didn't want to drive. Friendly and helpful staff too. Covered parking outside your room. Definitely a great find and recommended 100% I actually really loved Goondiwindi as a town and especially my stroll along the Macintyre river.

Great stay, very pleasant accommodation and friendly staff. Rooms appear to have had a refurb since last stay and the Cascades dinning room is worth the visit with water cascading down the plate glass windows.

Loved our stay here, it was relaxing, quiet, the room and beds were clean and very comfortable. The meals in the restaurant were beautiful, and the staff were lovely! Will definitely stay here again. Well done.

The room was nicely furnished and extremely clean. Bedding was comfortable. Air conditioning worked well in the hot weather. The staff were friendly and a credit to this establishment. Food at the restaurant was excellent. The room was very quiet. I can highly recommend this motel and would be happy to stay again.

An excellent hotel staffed by courteous well trained and attentive staff. Very clean, modern, well appointed with very nice finishing touches. The restaurant is also excellent, with a surprisingly broad, thoughtful and affordable menu. Only one night but would readily have stayed for longer if time allowed. Well done!

Stayed in a 2 bedroom suite which was well set out and very clean. Small pool for a dip after a long day of driving. The second bedroom also had it's own air con and TV which was great for my 10 and 13 year old. Undercover parking outside your room. Restaurant meal was nice. Staff friendly.

The rooms have been so well planned that there's nothing to want; everything is in the best position for all your needs and 'everything' is in there. The food is excellent as are the Manager and Staff - thoroughly recommendable though a tad expensive.

Lovely place to stay. Clean, quiet and feeling good. Well spaced rooms. Friendly staff. Have not tried the restaurant however, the menu looks good. Good care of the car space. Air conditioning is a must. Good wifi access.

This place was a pleasure to stay in. Quiet, clean, friendly and excellent food on offer...with a freaky water window as well. Oh and happy hour as well. What's not to love? A one night visit while traveling and supplied the rest we needed. May have to go back just to stay again.

Excellent hospitality, courtesy and care exhibited by all staff. It was a most enjoyable stay. The staff provided picnic lunches when required, outdoor Happy Hour experience and any variation of the standard menu/service that we requested.

Excellent restaurant . if you like noodle the Singapore noodles was excellent as was the seaffood pasta. wine selection limited but very good. What a gem of a find, my husband and I stayed in this motel on our way to Queensland. From the moment we entered into reception we were greeted by the friendly young staff who made our stay extremely pleasant. The modern rooms were exceptionally clean with a spacious bathroom, lovely furnishings and oh so comfortable bed. We dined in the motel restaurant and could not fault our meals at all, top marks to the chef and wait staff. Credit must be given to the great energetic young team who manage this motel as it's hard to find this type of service these days. My only gripe is that we didn't have more days to enjoy, we will definitely be returning on our next travels for more than an overnight stay.

Stopover on road trip, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade and very impressed with our room, the hotel and the staff in reception. Our booking was correct at check in. Large room, large bathroom, with good shower and nice roomy vanity. WIFI average, but sufficient. Clean, neat, good towels and facilities. The only let down at this Hotel is the on site restaurant, which offered a lovely ambience, but the food at dinner was average and even worse at breakfast. Three items on a menu using the same risotto should have been a clue, but my Salmon was over cooked and did not have a nice crispy skin. My husbands Pork Belly was also not crispy and we felt both meals lacked seasoning. Our breakfast waitress did not seem to understand my request of a side of crispy cooked bacon and I received a plate of bacon that had not seen more than a few seconds on a hotplate. So, in all the Hotel itself is great, but the Restaurant on site needs improving.

Very nice motel, very clean. Some guests can be thoughtless at all motels, they leave at some ungodly hour banging and crashing doors - no fault of the motel though! Staff were lovely. Restaurant served lovely food for dinner and a great breakfast at a good price. Good wifi

Staff excellent very helpful, room spacious, very clean and updated. Bathroom large and had a great shower. Easy to find just off main highway. We stayed here on our way up to Noosa and decided to stay again on the way back.

Quiet location off the main road with restaurant and immaculate room. We enjoyed our stay, ate dinner in the restaurant and parking was right outside our room. Free wifi and a comfy bed with spacious bathroom.

From the time of arrival, the service, facilities and room was of an excellent standard. We were given an opportunity to inspect the room before committing to stay. The room was very comfortable, very well appointed and very clean.

Second visit here in two years, and I found this motel still in very good shape. I got the last room, the family room at a very high price (for a solo traveller) but after a long drive I needed a place to stop. The room has very comfortable facilities, good bed and tv, microwave, lighting to read by, and the large clean bathroom with soaps etc. Undercover parking at the door is good, and little noise is heard from outside - and no heavy truck noise from the highway. There's a restaurant but didn't try it this visit. If travelling through here again, would choose this motel without hesitation.

We stayed inroom 12. Same as the last time through. We try to stop here because of the great rest we get. Friendly staff and very comfortable bed. It is a bit more expensive than our usual motel stop, but we think it is worth it.

We stayed here for one night, having booked through one of Trip Advisors booking partners. We had a response from lastminute.com stating we had booked a Queen room including breakfast. When we got to the motel, the young chap in reception was non-plussed as he said that the motel never offers included breakfast. However,after he consulted the manager, the motel honoured the booking. We were very impressed (particularly as our breakfasts were beyond delicious). Not being on the highway we had a nice quiet night, apart from the serial car door slamming of one of our fellow guests; nothing to do with the motel, just lack of consideration from said guests. The bed was very comfortable, and the room spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and professional. Thoroughly recommend this motel

Was time for a rest on our family road trip and we stopped here to check availability and the gentleman on reception was so friendly and professional and was able to accommodate two rooms for us near each other. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds so soft and comfy. The boys went for a swim in the pool while my daughter and I relaxed in our room. We ordered room service for brekky for the next morning and it arrived on time and was very delicious. Then we hit the road again.

What a fantastic place to stay ! We had excellent service and questions answered by Stefan at the front desk to Jack & Charlotte in the Dining room. My husband had a misunderstanding with his Linguine Carbonara as he does not eat mushrooms and it actually wasn't stated on the menu. No problems, they exchanged his meal straight a away, no questions asked. There was quite an extensive menu which all looked very inviting. We were very impressed with the style & set out of the dining room. Our family room (Queen and single bed) was very comfortable with all amenities which we felt were above standard. I was impressed by the Ascot Lodge in Goondiwindi. It is a reasonably new motel, the rooms are spacious and very well designed and it is quiet (no noise from trucks). The staff were all knowledgable and most helpful. They helped make my stay in Goondiwindi a very enjoyable one.

Good room, nice staff, very friendly. Breakfast with lot of options, I missed coffee, there was just coffee sachets. Since this is a small and cozy town the location ia just 10 min walk from downtown. I strongly recommend .

We stayed one night while passing through, we had no troubles and enjoyed our stay. We had dinner room service and the food was perfect. We would stay again in an instant. I would ask them to upgrade the hair dryers but that is just nit picking.

I congratulate the young staff at this motel. They were all very professional, thorough, careful and courteous, and know their jobs. Our room was very comfortable and a generous size with a very accessible bathroom. We faced an arterial road but it was very quiet in the room and we were not disturbed at all. Access and exit to/from the motel is simple. Check in/out was simple and easy. Dinner in the restaurant was top quality, beautifully presented and superbly cooked. I was impressed that the manager sought me out to ask about food allergies and make sure I would be catered for. Breakfast was a hot/cold buffet with enough choices for everybody and plenty to give you a good start to the day. We would happily stay here again. The motel is in a quiet spot but within walking distance (10-15 minutes depending on your speed) to the town centre.

Could not fault Ascot Lodge Motor Inn, Goondiwindi - great service every time we stay, food is a high standard and reasonable price. Great rooms that are clean and tidy every time. Internet was fast and no problems with connecting.

Flexible check in available. We didn't arrive until midnight and we were still able to access our room by phoning ahead. The rooms are modern, large bathroom and room in general, comfortable bed. We had dinner and breakfast at the cascades restaurant and it was delicious.

Excellent venue,great staff with top rooms and in saying that this is my ninth or tenth visit here. Paul and his staff are certainly on the ball, meals I've enjoyed three days of great food an I would recommend the Bara dish but I could go on an on. Easy assess from the Newell Hway with ample parking,RV parking across the road if needed I park our showroom truck near my room thats how good it is so thanks Paul and staff.

Stumbled onto this hotel after reading the reviews whilst doing a road trip through central Qld . Cannot find one fault with this hotel or the staff/managers . We got in quite late but nothing was too much trouble and the meal in the restaurant was tops.....better than the usual pub grub and reasonable prices . Rooms are big, modern and with spacious bathrooms , parking outside and super clean . We forgot to order breakfast and the manageress brought toast and coffee over to our room as we were leaving as a favour . Manager/owner is a local and was friendly and helpful as to the old places etc we were trying to find. This hotel is a treasure and one of the best we encountered in central Qld . Make sure you overnight here if stopping in Goondiwindi.

Usually after a 10-hour drive you are happy to just stop, anywhere! Imagine our delight to find friendly, efficient staff, undercover parking, a spacious clean room, and a smart restaurant. This motel is on the edge of town and set back from the highway so it is is relatively quiet. But this location means it is too far to walk into town to a restaurant. Fortunately, the Cascades restaurant which is part of the motel has good ambience, helpful staff, a good selection of dishes and a modestly priced wine list. This was one of our top three dinners in a 3-week road trip. Recommended.

What a brilliant accommodation, super friendly staff, modern room and undercover parking. After experiencing a previous accommodation during in my three-week road trip the Best Western Ascot was a lovely find and superb place to rest after travelling for 8 hours a day on motorways. The room was modern and clean, with a super comfortable bed. The shower was modern and refreshing to use with a lot of space in the shower. The staff were super friendly and welcoming and made checking in and out easy and hassle free, thanks. All in all, if this is the standard I can expect from Best Western then I'm sold on using Best Western for future travels. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Spacious, clean and well furnished rooms with good linens. Well stocked minibar with bonus real milk for the coffee! Decent restaurant and bar area, although our breakfast took a little too long during their peak at 7.45am. A little way from the Main Street/downtown area - probably a bit too far to work. A very pleasant stay.

An overnight stay only here but it was a clean, comfortable and quiet motel. Very friendly staff at check in, well equipped and good sized room. Pool was just what was needed after a day travelling. Very reasonably priced ($119).

We are a middle aged couple who needed a place to stop for the night and this place is exceptional. the service was friendly, check in was quick and pain free. The rooms were presented very well and were compfy. The restaurant was nice - we had chorizo and prawn linguini and a chicken parma, both left us feeling satisfied. We both would highly recommend this hotel.

We had a great stay at the Best Western Ascot Lodge Motor Inn. The rooms were modern, very clean and very reasonably priced. The restaurant had a brand new menu with fantastic food for dinner and breakfast. Very friendly staff overall too. Undercover parking was also a bonus.

We were travelling with a loaded trailer. Reception was very helful with providing a secure parking space. The room was clean comfortable and well appointed. Value for money was excellent. All round good place to stay.

Nice clean rooms, lovely restaurant with a kids menu. To our delight there was a lovely pool which had just been cleaned and was sparkling, fresh and at a goldilocks temperature. Whilst splashing about, some of the other guests said this hotel was their favourite choice for accom in the area. An iconic dust storm blew though in the afternoon which must be a blight for the locals but amazing experience for first time travellers to the area. The staff were lovely too boot. It's just out of the centre of town, but was quick to get in for a 7am breakfast at the cute local cafe, The Larder, before heading on for the next leg of the trip.

Stayed one night as we have stayed before. The only complaint I had was the bottom sheet on the bed was too small and therefore couldn't be tucked in. So every time you rolled over the sheet would bunch up under you. The room size is good and the bathroom and shower was excellent with plenty of hot water and a good shower Rose. Very important for the other half. Aircon worked well Forgot to take our togs unfortunately as the pool looked clean and inviting after a long drive. The Restaurant did a great breakfast and coffee. Would definitely stay again.

New menu and its fantastic plus the service was a pleasure. The rooms are very well presented and maintained. Close enough to the centre of town but far enough to be quite and no road noises from the trucks. Great place for the kid with a lovely pool . This motel always has a high standard of service .

This motel was a complete surprise. I stay in a lot of motels in my job ad this place was an absolute pleasure. The staff were all friendly and obliging. I had dinner and breakfast in the motel restaurant and both meals were very good. The room was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable and free wifi was a real bonus

My husband and I stayed for one night on Saturday 7th October. When we checked in we were told that there would be a large group using the restaurant that evening and if we were thinking of food to order room service. This we did at no extra charge. The cost of the meal was excellent and the amount of food was large and thoroughly enjoyable. Our room was large and comfortable. It was perfect for our one night stay en route south. The gentleman on the desk the next morning was very helpful and answered all our questions. Would recommend a stay here.

From the call I received while en route to the warm welcome once in town - it was a great stay. Great rooms. Good size for working e.g. computers etc. Internet service pretty good. Parking is a bit tight but other than that - excellent.

We stayed in a standard double motel room. It is a new modern motel so it is clean, good size bathroom. Location on out skirts of town centre, however we ate at the restaurant which was a lovely meal for dinner and breakfast. Would stay again.

I've previously reviewed this motel, and have now stayed 5 times over the last two or so years. It is always immaculately clean, of modern presentation and the room and bathroom are generously sized. The manager Paul is very hospitable and professional, and the restaurant is genuinely good. They have vegetarian and gluten free options that are excellent. I'll be staying again next time I'm travelling through Goondiwindi.

Ascot Lodge Motor Inn is a cut above all other motels. Rooms are clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly. It is situated away from the highway and there is no traffic noise. Love Cascades Restaurant. Overall presentation of this motel is very, very good.

Motel was adequate for 1 night stay. Room and beds were comfortable and clean. Breakfast the next morning was poor. Inexpereinced waitstaff and poorly presented food was very disappointing. Will eat elsewhere if there is a next time

We booked Best western to finish off a long motorbike trip expecting something flash, its ok but not worth $50-$60 extra compared to the motels down the road nearer to town we paid $171 for mon night. Rooms and bathroom were large and modern and the bed comfortable we had a good nights sleep. We checked in mid afternoon and our room was next to a fence dividing us from a commercial yard not very relaxing listening to hydraulic tools working next to your room. Its a 15min walk to town (not much shade) where you can get a good meal at the historic pub or Chinese restaurant. Don't think its that upmarket for the price you pay next time will stay in the town for less.

Fantastic. The room was big, clean, well appointed, comfortable bed, huge bathroom, hot shower and the staff were excellent. We decided that we would try the restaurant based on the room and the menu - best choice as the meals were sensational, the atmosphere was fantastic and the service impeccable. Best steak ever had in an Australian restaurant, on par with the steaks served in Texas. Fine dining is the best description. Even breakfast was awesome, the offerings were varied and the menu had some more original offerings than the standard bacon & eggs. Highly recommend.

Stayed in the family room! Great facilities and super comfy beds. Could of done with some large plates and bowls for our own use but made do with buying disposable ones! Welcoming and very helpful staff. Will recommend!

We were very impressed with Best Western Ascot Lodge Motor Inn. All staff we had contact with were friendly and professional. We particularly liked the spacious Bathroom as often motel bathrooms are far too small. Another bonus was the great water pressure and instant hot water in the shower. Also the room was spacious and very clean with contemporary decor. This was the most modern BW motel we stayed at during our 3 weeks away. The bed was very comfortable. Also, we did not have a disturbed sleep as it was very quiet at night. Having a restaurant on-site is a plus as after a long day's drive, it is just perfect to walk a few metres to where you will have your dinner. Cascades Restaurant serves 'yummy ' food and the servings are a generous size and certainly good value for money . We definitely recommend staying here.

Very good value, clean and spacious. Mattress too soft and past its best before. Typical American style chain motel aimed at the commercial traveller headed for the minibar. Restaurant on-site is good and convenient.

Super friendly & helpful staff. The room was spotless and the bed very comfy. Lots of little extra touches that made it that much better. We stayed in a front room, but it was not noisy. In fact, we enjoyed sitting on the bench outside the room and watching the world go by. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was thoroughly enjoyable.

We arrived from Brisbane on a Friday evening - greeted by friendly reception staff and directed to our well appointed room. So pleased we had made a prior reservation in their beautiful dining room and we weren't disappointed.

Used this motel as a stopover on the way to the Gold Coast travelling from Canberra. The room was clean and comfortable with covered car accommodation outside the room. Staff members in both reception and the restaurant were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent and there was a reasonable wine selection to choose from. Prices for food, wine and accommodation were reasonable. All up, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Loved this hotel. Staff were excellent. Room was spotlessly clean and well looked after. Easy to get to hotel. Had room service at night and food was wonderful and cheaper than if you went to the dining room and had it. Hotels in town were more expensive for the same meals. Had breakfast in the dining room in the morning before we set off. Omelettes were to die for. One of the best we had ever tasted. Would definitely stay again

A very clean, nice and modern motel. Warm welcome on arrival, we stayed in room 3 which was excellent with a very impressive bathroom area but it looked like all the rooms would be equally impressive. Good facilities in the room. The motel has a dining room with a good menu. Very nice place for an overnight stay.

Stayed at the Ascot Lodge Motor Inn on our return from Qld to Canberra last month. We have stayed here a few times before, and this experience was the same as the previous ones, in other words, excellent. The rooms are well laid out, spotlessly clean and very comfy beds. Just want you need after six hours on the road. Again, we dined at the motel's " Cascades " restaurant and what a dinner. I had loin of lamb, cooked to perfection ( medium as I asked ) and served on a bed of chived mash, with cherry tomatoes, and the most wonderful jus. My wife had the home made pasta with seafood. Both meals were rated 10 out of 10. This restaurant beats most capital city restaurants around the country. All the staff were friendly and this place is the total package. Fantastic !!!

The Best Western Acsot is a motel I would definitely return to. Lovely room with an extremely comfortable bed and very clean. Excellent service from the friendly and helpful staff, reliable and fast internet. Room service was excellent and the meals were very good and reasonably priced.The breakfasts were a stand out and the crispy salmon for dinner was true restaurant quality. Top marks to this motel!

Close to highway, good clean rooms, great bed and bathroom, good restaurant, moderately priced but wide ranging menu, friendly staff. Had a problem with my internet booking but reception rectified it quickly.

Pulled in to this slightly older style motel after a long day travelling. Easy check in, best of all the room was fresh, clean and nicely updated. Very good size, clean, and modern bathroom; good comfy bed and big tv. A fairly good sized room, with undercover parking at the door. Decided to have room service dinner. It took about 20 mins, and my filet steak was one of the best I've had in a long time! Well done to the motel restaurant! Wasn't in Goondi long enough to look around, but my overnight rest here was first rate. Highly recommended, reasonable price.

After a long trip from Lighning Ridge it was a pleasure to check into this motel. Rooms were large and nicely furnished with a large bathroom. Beds and pillows were really comfortabel. Our group also had dinner at the motel and the food and service was terrific. Would definitely stay there again.

We stopped here for 2 nights. The room was very clean and very quiet as you are on the outskirts of town. Internet is fast and free. There were 3 of us and we had a queen and single bed with plenty of room.

I stayed on Saturday night. At 9am there was someone banging on my door demanding I move my car. I moved it straight away hoping to be left alone to some peace and quiet but unfortunately that's when they started with the power tools right outside my room. I know maintenance is unavoidable but a heads up when I checked in would have been nice or alternatively starting work after 10am check out would also work!

Lovely little motel situated on the outskirts of town. Clean room, modern bathroom, large rooms with couch and table and desk area, comfortable bed, free wifi that didn't drop out once. The fellow who checked me in was friendly and helpful with information and brochures. Reasonable rate - what more could you want for a one night stopover. We had room service breakfast that was well above what we expected - a pleasant surprise.

From the moment we arrived we knew this was a gem. Very pleasant staff at reception with helpful advice about the facilities. The room was modern, very well equipped, spotlessly clean and the bathroom was spacious. Enough room to store our luggage in there as well. At night we ate in the restaurant off the optional set menu. It was well priced and the food was good. Make sure you eat in as it is a lovely restaurant. All in all a top place to stay and very quiet at night.

Overnight stop enroute from Canberra to Glasshouse Mountains. Very good rate for 3 adults in a single room. Spacious and very clean room. 15min walk to town centre or a couple of minutes in a car. We used the room service menu and ate in. Very good food and not expensive.

Very comfortable queen size bed and large bathroom with great shower. Air conditioner works very well , so I was nice and cool. Large room with lots of wardrobe space . The restaurant attached was really good. We enjoyed our dinner especially with the raining waterfall on the outside of the glass walls. Large serves of food well cooked and presented . Would definitely stay here again

Fist Night was fine, food was great, service was good, room was fine. second night a woman and her kids turned up late, the room 25 has a door to join to room 26 the door is too thin and you can hear the people talking in the next room like the door was not there at all. worst night I have had in a long time. I asked for another room but was told there was none. but there was empty car parks so im not sure if that was true.

Staying at Ascot Lodge for one night on our way north to Bundaberg. My wife has a broken leg so we stayed in the disabled room. This room was a reasonable size and in a clean & modern condition, what you would expect for a usual standard of motel room. Joel (Manger) was very helpful and the dinner in Cascades Restaurant can be recommended. (Scallops & Lamb Rump) Would recommend it to others. Will stay there the next time we pass through Goondi.

We are a group of 4 Show representatives from Mudgeeraba ( Gold Coast) We spent a night at the best western for the Goondiwindi Show Dinner. We were very impressed with our whole experience at the Best Western. 5 Stars for * size of room * parking * cleanliness * room presentation * faculties *service We will definitely be back Thank you for having us :)

Whilst the motel has a good appearance and strives to match the more up-market motels found in our major cities it is annoying that you have to put up with 'free wireless' that does not work. I would much rather they charge for a service that works. In short come here for the comfort and quality of accommodation but not if you are thinking you are going to not have to use your phone as a local hotspot to prop up the poor wireless that is on offer.

Stayed here for 2 nights and found it very comfortable and clean. Room was a reasonable size with a queen bed and a 2 seater lounge. A small coffee table and plenty of shelf storage . The bathroom was a decent size and very clean.Undercover parking which was great as it was still quite warm. There is a restaurant and bar available although we didn't avail ourselves of this facility.. Just a little out of town but, if you feel like a pleasant walk on flat ground there is a footpath all the way into town ( about 10min comfortable walk ).. The downside unfortunately was that the motel is next to a small industrial area and at times it was quite noisy with loud machinery noises .. This was only during the day ....... All in all I would recommend this motel if you're staying in Goondiwindi .

Great accommodation, stopped there on our way to our holiday destination an again on our way home. Rooms are a good size an are very clean an modern an comfy beds. Great WiFi. We also had room service for tea both times and the meals where good very generous serving sizes too. Will stay there again ;)

Stayed here last minute while on a road trip, rooms are small but comfortable. Bathroom is quite large and airy. Had dinner and breakfast at Cascades Restaurant. All our meals were good sized servings and everyone was really happy with the quality. The Motel is on the outskirts of town.

I don't think any of the pictures on the wall hung straight. The foot under the toilet seat was broken and grotty. The couch had no rear cushions so was not so comfy. The shower pipes made a hideous noise that would've been heard a room or 2 away. A room way below my normal standard. In Goondiwindi we usually pay a little over half what this place cost, and we're more impressed with rooms. We were caught out having no reservation when contracting work crews were also in town. When I pay so much, I don't expect ANY disappointment. To have a number of faults, I felt like I'd been robbed.

Good check-in. Easy access. Comfortable room. Nice beds. Didn't try the restaurant but the menu. looked good. Staff courteous. Good location. No traffic noise. Large bathroom. Air-conditioning was quiet

We have stayed here a number of times on our way through Goondiwindi. The family rooms are great, rooms are clean, room service and restaurant meals are fantastic. The staff are friendly and very helpful, they even take the time to answer multiple repetitive toddler questions. Always our top choice.

After a long day of driving enjoyed a delicious family meal at Cascades. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the kids tasting plate for 2 - right up their alley; chips, frankfurts, meatballs, chicken, spring rolls. The pumpkin soup was described as very tasty. The steak was devine, cooked as requested and very tender. Barramundi with vegetables was tremendous - very good gluten free options. Desserts were very well received- kids sundae was huge whilst for the adults the creme broulee was extremely smooth. Affogato was awesome. Throughout the evening the service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend

We were quite comfortable staying at Ascot Lodge. Rooms just right and up to the usual standard of motel rooms. Staff very helpful and the breakfast is so good in the beautiful Cascades Restaurant. Definitely recommend it to others. There is also a pool so don't forget your togs (we did).

This place is a little out of town, around 2 k. We were disapointed with the room size . The rooms are beautifully decorated but this does not compensate for the small size .The bed is comfortable but only a double. Anything bigger would not fit in the room. The small,couch is a nice touch. The motel is out of town in an industrial area so quite a lot of noise during day time.

We stayed here for our 3rd time on a long road trip to Victoria . We stayed in a family room the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very modern . We had a beautiful dinner in the restaurant after a long day on the road and the food was amazing. The best place to stay for a refresh and a great rest .

My father and I stayed for 3 nights in a 2 bedroom suite. The suite was beautifully furnished and spacious with all amenities. The beds were very comfortable. The motel is only 1km from the town centre in a quiet area. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay at this motel, room was great, and the reception staff were very attentive. Pool a little small, and when a few kids are playing it was not welcoming for an adult to go and cool off. And the parking spaces are extremely tight. But, everything else was excellent. Didn't get to try out the restaurant. maybe next time.

We have enjoyed accommodation here a number of times. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quite modern. Our shower had inadequate pressure and this was not experienced on past visits. The restaurant offers a good menu of quality food. The service this time was poor for both dinner and breakfast - dinner being incorrect choice delivered after a long wait (had to start again) and breakfast of cereal only took half an hour for delivery and we were the only ones attending breakfast. Interested to see with our next visit whether service has returned to past levels.

This is one of the nicest Best Western that we have stayed in everything about it was four stars the room was a pleasure to stay in for all travelers passing this way this is the place to stop you will not be dissappointed in any way highly recomned it

Genuinely good value for money, and nice, modern accommodation. The restaurant is a real gem. The chef uses excellent produce, and turns it out very well. I was very pleasantly surprised with just how good the food was. Nice waiting staff, and Paul the Manager is a real gentleman and great with local advice.

What a little gem. We were on our way through to Moree NSW and stayed here after a long day on the road. The rooms were amazing, the food was fantastic and the service was great. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here if we have the opportunity again.

Staff are friendly and helpful. food was well priced and very yummy. I had dinner and breakfast here and loved the meals. The bed was the best I have slept in ever. I think I will buy one for home very soon. Overall it was the best 1 night stay and I stay in a lot of hotels all year.

We were very happy with our room - clean and tidy, modern with a large comfortable bed. Not a huge room, but for a couple it's ideal. Complimentary milk is available from reception, which was much appreciated. We ate in the attached restaurant, and were very happy with the service and the meals. We also had a delicious breakfast delivered to our room - try the breakfast wrap! :) Can be a bit noisy when residents in other units are talking outside their rooms, but everyone was considerate and retired at a reasonable hour. Would definitely stay again.

Great venue,rooms spotless and friendly and fast staff in both dinning room an reception just what we needed after a long long day.Prices were ok (horses for courses) perfect all round including meals,parking especially with our large vehicle so in saying that I would have no hesitation in recomending this venue to friends and family.

Service We needed a late check in and they were very accommodating. When we arrived after our 5 hour drive they were very quick checking us in. They had turned on the heater in our room ready for when we arrived! :) Room and amenities We had a queen size bed and a single bed. The beds were very comfortable! The room was great, clean and with modern features. The bathroom was huge and they also provided MOR products. Location It was perfect for us as we were only staying for the night and it was close to the highway, but not that close that you could hear traffic.

Our family stayed here on a recent trip and we're so impressed we stayed again on our return, the queen bed and pillows are the best of any motel we have stayed, very spacious well appointed rooms,the bathroom and shower were the quality you would expect from a very up class resort, we enjoyed dinner and breakfast from the restaurant and we're again impressed by the quality and affordability,Paul the owner and his staff were extremely pleasant and accomadating, 5 star rating all the way,look forward to staying here again in the future... ??????????

Stopped in on a driving holiday. Highly recommend. Stayed in a 'family' room which was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Kids had their own room. Fantastic shower. Staff were lovely, very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice welcome, superb meals, lovely room. Despite being near the busy highway - room was pretty soundproof. There was a small dripping sound coming from the toilet, but with the door shut, it was a bother. Other guests in the vicinity were a tad noisy in the morning - 6amish. (Sunday morning)

Great place to stay. Comfortable rooms. Clean. Good food. My only negative comment would be the rooms aren't very sound proof. I could hear everything outside the room - especially the bloke in the next room that sat outside most of the night drinking, coughing and sneezing. The sneezing could wake the dead!

Best Western Ascot Lodge Motor Inn had everything we needed for our overnight stay. The room was very comfy and had a couch, fridge, TV, cupboard and even a full length mirror. The bed was great, with spare blankets all spotless in good condition. The hotel is walking distance to the town centre and was very quiet. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed our meals. I thought the staff were all excellent and we were seated and our meals served promptly.

We found our room very cosy and comfortable. Everything was working perfectly and the beds were great. Enjoyed our meal in our room rather than having to dress again for dinner. We were very tired and we slept so well, having been kept awake by trucks at our previous stop at Parkes.

We stayed here on Monday night. James was very welcoming and friendly. The room was very modern. The bed very comfortable and warm. The bathroom was spotless with extra towels. This was our second visit and will defiantly be returning. Can not fault this motel in any way. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant.

Great location just off highway. Warm welcome and clean spacious room. Also ate in restaurant at motel which provided excellent food, service and value. Would certainly stay again and recommend to others.

Closest to continue a trip on the Newell but situated well for a walk into town after being in the car for the long drive - 'sittting too long' is the next 'smoking' health issue. Despite being on a service road of the 'main road out of town' our ground floor room at the back of the long block closest to the road was so quiet we heard nothing of the associated road noise. Room beside us was occupied but only evidenced by the car parked outside. It was a pleasurable environment comfortable to be in. Paul and staff transmitted a feeling of 'it is a pleasure to have you stay with us'.

Booked to stay overnight yesterday based on previous good reviews. We were very happy with our stay. Customer service was excellent, with prompt action on our requests and concerns. Our room was clean, comfortable and had all one would need for an overnight stay. Bed was good. Aircon excellent. The Cascades Restaurant at this Motel was not only convenient but a bonus as the food was great. Parking at your door as well. Will definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our night here. The room itself is quite small but it was modern, had great décor, was well presented, clean and comfortable. The man at reception was welcoming and friendly. Our room was quiet and had everything we needed. They even managed to fit a nice lounge into the small room. The bathroom was large compared to the rest of the room and it was modern, clean and plenty of bench space. It would be great to see a heat lamp in the bathroom as it gets pretty chilly in Goondiwindi in winter!

This is a nice Motel with everything you need. The Bed was very comfortable and the room was well appointed with a comfy couch and large TV. There was free pay tv with sports and movie channels. The wifi was excellent. The bathroom was large and modern. Undercover parking is available outside every room and there is also a great pool for warmer months. The restaurant is great for dinner.

We were very impressed by this motel and its facilities. It is just off the highway and noise is not an issue. Parking is undercover out front of the unit. It is modern with beautiful bathroom and shower. A truly well set out room with a very comfortable bed. Restaurant meals are of high quality. Fenced for security which can be an issue for travelers. We stayed at another motel in the same town on the way back just to try out accommodation and we know where we will stay in future. My husband and I stopped here on way home from holidays. Paul, the manager, was so welcoming. The Ascot Lodge Motor Inn is a lovely modern motel that had really spacious room including a fabulous bathroom. The manager was lovely and really accommodating when our child was ill which I really appreciated at a difficult time for us. Due to our child being ill we decided to order room service for tea and it was a great decision. The food was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this accomodation.

After a long drive from Lightning Ridge we arrived in Goondoowindi. Lovely rooms with very comfortable beds and spacious and modern bathrooms. We ate dinner and breakfast in their restaurant and was not disappointed. Staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend you stay here.

Great service, good food with many ingredients sourced locally. Rooms are a generous size, clean, tidy and not outdated. Plenty of space to sit comfortably on the couch or spread your files out on the bench.

When in Goondiwindi and you need a good place to stay, look no further! Clean, quiet, well appointed room with bigger than big bathrooms. There is a restaurant that serves up good quality fare, so stay in and enjoy the night!

Only stayed here one night but it was a great motel. The rooms were not too small and had all amenities we needed with a great shower and nice comfy beds. My only suggestion which is just so common is buy a bottle of Exit Mould and spray the showers when you clean them. Nearly everywhere we stay has the same easily fixed issue, it just takes a spray of bleach to give a clean shower, a minor detail but still annoying. The restaurant was over priced at $36 for a steak so we ate elsewhere and the free wifi didn't work but for accommodation we would definitely recommend this place.

I will start by saying that it is just too bad that the room itself is not a good value for money, as the customer service we received was top-notched. We arrived very late in the evening, however the manager made sure there were no issues with check-in and everything was in order. There is an excellent restaurant adjacent to the hotel. It's a bit pricey; but with the service we reserved, I would say it was worth it. Now, for the room. Disappointing at best. Such a shame really as I had expected better from Best western hotels. We stayed in a 2-BR suite supposedly. I say supposedly because it really is just a 1-BR suite, with the second room doubling as lounge with small kitchenette. The layout is also not well planned, as you could actually hear the other people in the adjacent suite/room - particularly those leaving with their cars very early in the morning. Now, for a 2-BR suite, this really should not be an issue. We have stayed in 1-BR suites previously where you could hardly hear anything from the outside. This was supposed to be a 2-BR one. I think that they should just say what it really is. It is a 1-BR suite, with an extra bed in the lounge and kitchenette. It isn't very good value for money. But I supposed this probably is the best in town. It certainly was rated number 1 in Tripadvisor (main reason we chose it in the first place).

It is hard to do much with small motel room but Ascot Lodge tries to make their rooms as comfortable as possible. We requested a room towards the back and got one - much quieter, I think, so a good tip if you don't like nighttime truck noise. The owners and staff are pleasant and friendly. We dined in the onsite restaurant and it was quite good too.

So pleased I chose this Motel . The manager was really helpful as we had additional cars plus trailer which is a big ask to arrange secure parking for all vehicles . Big tick there. The food we had in restaurant was way above the expected standard. We all ordered different meals steak, pork and Barra and each was presented well and was equally delicious. Big tick there. Rooms were updated ,fresh and clean and bed comfortable. Big tick there. As this is the start of a long road trip , the bar is set very high . Well done to all at Ascot Lodge.

This motel won't disappoint, excellent meal in the restaurant with great service, great bed with decent pillows and is worth the few $$ difference. Good size rooms with plenty of bench space and good size bathroom. Ever this way again will be stopping again. Owners/mangers should be proud:)

Stayed one night in standard queen room. Nice large bathroom however small bed area & limited facilities. Noisy with cars parking directly outside neighbouring rooms. Felt cost of room was bit overpriced for country motel.

We stayed at Ascot Lodge and were pleasantly surprised when opening the door to our room. It was a beautiful room, all new bedding and furnishing. We ordered room service dinner and breakfast, both meals were huge and beautifully presented an tasted yum. We even drove and extra 100 ks coming home just so we could stay here a second time. Also under cover car parking. My only negative is they allow smoking just outside the rooms. When we left our room the next morning we walked into a wall of smoke from the man smoking next door. But apart from that it was all 100%

Great motel. Comfortable bed and quiet room. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had a very good breakfast and coffee in the motel restaurant and prices are reasonable for the quality. Will stay again.

My husband and I stayed overnight at the Ascot Lodge Motor on our way to Queensland and we were so impressed we stayed again on the way home. Its a modern well appointed motel very clean and comfortable. The Cascades Restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast was very impressive. All staff from check-in to restaurant staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend a stay here you won't be disappointed.

This was the first night stop on our trip home from Central Qld to Canberra and it really is a lovely place to stay. Our room had both a queen and single bed and was very comfortable, very clean and very well presented. Excellent. The restaurant, " Cascades " has a great ambience, and all the staff were very friendly. Our meal was good, but not " great " as had been our experience on a previous stay some 18 months or so ago. We were told the previous manager and previous chef ( a couple ) have since moved on so maybe our expectations were a bit high. All in all, a very nice night's stay and would recommend it to all.

This was a very clean, well-kept hotel with clean, spacious and well-appointed rooms. From check in to leaving we were made to feel welcome. But having been travelling for a few weeks it was wonderful to find such a comfortable bed. So comfortable in fact that we slept in - something we haven't done in years. We highly recommend and will definitely stay here again.

Decided to stay in goondiwindi overnight on our way home to Brisbane. Stayed with our 17 month old they provided her dinner some vegetables on arrivAl and a microwave to heat her bottles . Would definitely stay here again and recommend to a family

Nice, spacious room, very comfortable bed. We also had an extra single bed and small sofa. WiFi is free. Our room was away from the road but the motel is ought the main road so noise wouldn't be a problem. We drove into the town to do some shopping, then had a pleasant stroll along the levee bank of the MacIntyre River. The Cascades restaurant had a quote limited menu, (the Vietnamese spring rolls had finished). Choices basically chicken, fish or steak. Bit pricy. As it was a public holiday the next day, we had room service breakfast, which was OK.

Ascot Lodge Motor Inn performs well on measures of cleanliness, ease of check-in and sleeping comfort. The bed was very comfortable; a stand-out compared to most motels and on par with luxury hotels in my view. The town is quite beautiful in many regards as well, but be aware Ascot Lodge is a few minutes drive from the town centre and shops of any kind. Service standards are good but not excellent, and I found the staff aloof and harried. Free wi-fi par for the course. The rooms contain high quality furnishings and there is a sense of refinement all-round. Dedicated parking spaces outside each room are a plus. The kitchenette is immaculate and feature-rich, with an amply sized bar fridge (a newer model) and non-prehistoric kettle as well as a generous and not too expensive mini-bar. Unfortunately the establishment can not justify being twenty dollars more expensive than other options in the town. The room was small and quite cramped, and would probably have been nightmarish with more than one person (I was traveling cross-country on my own). Of the motels I've visited in Australia this room was the smallest, which is obscene given the inflated price tag. I find it unlikely that Ascot is better all-round than other motels in Goondiwindi. I found it met minimum standards in many regards, but is not on par with the Ascot Lodge in Kingaroy where the rooms are at least 50% larger. Why do some of the rooms not have ashtrays outside? Ascot Lodge Goondiwindi also lacks the country charm of regional Australian motels and is altogether quite artificial. I doubt it is popular with locals. It seems a lot of people choose Ascot: it was very busy. The small pool was crowded with about 30 people on a late December day. Clean and simple, with all the things you need if you're just passing through, and an amazing bed. But it's small, cramped rooms mean it is poor value for money and - although this remains to be seen - likely undeserving of the top spot in Goondiwindi.

Excellent room, modern, comfortable, ground floor, quiet Airconditioning, and good value. This was our second stay and is our preferred lodging when in Goondiwindi. Ample easy car parking and all staff were very pleasant on all occasions. Cascades is a first class restaurant too.

We came in last year and this time round found the same fabulous service and room. Very spacious, in particular the bathroom. The dinner and breakfast we had at the onsite restaurant, "Cascades", was exceptional. Well done!

We stayed here last night after a long drive from regional NSW on our way to the Gold Coast. We couldn't fault this place, the service was friendly, rooms were modern, clean & nicely furnished. And the bed was SO comfy! We would definitely recommend staying here...thank you!

We were traveling to Brisbane before Christmas and decided to stop over the night. We rung at short notice and the staff were fantastic the room was spotless and bed was comfortable (my husband has back issues so he always complains about beds and didn't this night). Our room service was delicious! We will definitely be stopping here again next trip!

We arrived at this Motel on Christmas Day and were very impressed by the warm welcome and hospitable efforts of the Manager. We really appreciated the fact he had made the effort to ensure the Airconditioning was turned on in our pre-booked room. The room was quite large, very clean and comfortable. Ours was set back from the road and therefor quiet. Overall, a great experience. Thanks you.

Same place, same lovely room, same friendly service and same jummy food as last year this time - all arranged at 4pm, with one little mobile call while travelling and only two pieces of information needed: We need a room for tonight please and my name is.... WOW! And a Big thumbs up from me to you. I arranged a stay over for my return trip with a note left in the room. WOW again. Walked in tonight, picked up the key, no paperwork and same lovely and super comfy room again.??

I don't know if it is because I'm used to the North American standard or if this place is unique to the chain, but for a roadside hotel it was excellent! Room was spacious and neatly laid out. Minibar with some starters, huge bathroom, and covered parking at the door. What impressed me the most was that the room was quite literally spotless - showroom quality. Even the taps in the bathroom didn't have a hint of a watermark. Their restaurant was nice, had dinner and breakfast. No faults to note. Food was restaurant quality. I had a main and a beer, came to $34. Wifi was spotty on my phone but my laptop sitting right next to it had no issues keeping a connection. For $140 I think I got excellent value and to the credit of this location I will keep my eye open for other Best Westerns as I continue my road trip.

Very comfortable, recently renovated. Rooms are well appointed. Undercover parking, friendly staff, inviting pool. Restaurant is excellent, especially the steak. The cascading water windows are cool, especially in hot weather. This is a popular port of call for travellers so it pays to book ahead. Highly recommended.

An especially clean and contemporary styled large room was the best we'd had in a motel over the last two months of motoring! The bathroom was also contemporary and large with fluffy large towels. We stayed here for one night on our way to the Sunshine Coast and I can't recommend this place highly enough. It was a very hot day and we were welcomed by the friendly manager who upgraded us to a two bedroom room. It was so nice and refreshing walking into an air-conditioned room after being in the car for almost 12 hours. The rooms were spacious, modern, clean and very comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again next trip up north. Thank you so much for making our trip more comfortable and enjoyable! Thank you for also helping us sort out our parking with the surfboards on our roof! It can sometimes be a bit tricky being so high!

Nice and comfortable hotel room - with an extra room to suit a family. Great to have the extra television as well. Efficient air conditioning, comfy beds and nice shower. I don't recommend the restaurant due to the lengthy wait.

Right from arrival we felt welcomed. Our room was excellent, with everything we needed, comfortable bed, chairs and desk, and a very good modern bathroom. We really appreciated the convenience of "Cascades", the restaurant that is part of the motel complex, where we had a very pleasant dinner. Will stay there again when going through Goondiwindi.

Very comfortable beds and very spacious bathroom. Lovely restaurant on site called cascades that serves delicious breakfasts and dinners and includes a great kids menu. A very comfortable place to stay when in Goondiwindi. We had a goodnight sleep here after a long day travelling from Brisbane on our way to Sydney.

After a long drive from Yeppoon I called the hotel for a rate, which was much better than any of the web sites & booked straight away. Was greeted by first name & really made to feel welcome. Told about the area & informed the Motel's Restaurant was open that evening , a great thing as I was 'buggered". The food and service in the Restaurant matched that of the reception & couldn't been better The rooms are stylish , large & extremely clean & quite. The motel is easy to find, just off the big roundabout in Goondiwindi, whether coming from the North or South Great stay.

We stayed on a Sunday night (11th October). Motel is well located on the edge of town and easy to find. It was a pleasure to arrive - staff were friendly and helpful and check-in was a breeze. Rooms are spacious, very clean and well decorated. We dined in the restaurant which has a great modern menu and beautifully cooked food. We had dinner and breakfast and were impressed with both meals. Would highly recommend this motel which is a cut above the usual country motel.

We had booked to stay for the night on our way down to Bathurst for the V8 Supercars. After a long day driving it was a pleasure to arrive at our motel it was easy to find and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. We were so impressed that we decided to stay again on the way home!??

Stardard country motel room, comfortable beds. good size bathroom/shower clean !! the restaurant here has good food, tried it for both dinner and breakfast and well satisfied. Good Sound isolation between rooms.

this was an amazing place to stay great bed great wifi free everything was awesome I would say this was equal to premier inns in England we did not go to the restaurant preferring red roster instead the prices being better they had a cooked breakfast too . but we just cooked some in the microwave in the bedroom.

We were booked in here after a 9 hour drive and it did not disappoint. Very nice, clean, comfortable, modern. Check in staff pleasant and helpful. We would definitely recommend to anyone needing to stay in Goondiwindi.

I stayed her in my recent Bird Photography trip to Australia. This is really a good place to stay. The restaurant is also good. Interiors of Rooms is excellent. Bathrooms are nice. I would recommend this place to the fellow travellers.

Looking for a bed for the night on our road trip from Lightning Ridge to Brisbane, we decided to stop at Goondiwindi. Liked the look and price of Best Western Ascot Lodge on TripAdvisor, so we called into reception. Asked the host for the price of a room, and he quoted a price much higher than that published on TripAdvisor. When I asked him why the difference, he said that rooms booked on TripAdvisor must be booked and paid for in advance to qualify for the cheaper rate. It was too late in the day to look for another hotel, so we had to accept his higher price. Having said that, the room was quite acceptable (although the price was perhaps a bit too high for a room this far from a capital city). I may think twice before staying here again.

Stayed for one night in this very comfortable , clean , and well maintained motel. The restaurant was very good, staff were excellent and the water windows dealt with lack of view well. There is a good onsite pool and area to have drinks.
