    « Disapointing wedding venue »

We visited this hotel as a posible wedding venue a few weeks ago. The outside of the hotel and the pictures on the website looked promising. Unfortunately we arrived to find dirty floors and windows in the bar lobby and lounge area, there was also a very bad musty smell. The carpet by the so called feature staircase "wedding photo opertunity" was thread bare and shabby and was also by the gents toilets. The wedding coordinater disregareded me, the brides mother and the grooms mother as she only wanted to speak to the bride and groom which i found very rude and unwelcoming. she also wanted us to hire the consevitory part of the resterant so only half of the room would be for us the other half would have been open to hotel guests not be very privete considering the cost of the room hire she also sugested that if a hotel guest was to object during the ceromoney there was not much they could do about it.definately not a wedding venue for us (dirty shabby rude)!!!!!

    « Family Wedding Celebration »

We attended this beautiful venue to celebrate the wedding of our niece and her partner on 17/09/16 Firstly we must begin by expressing our sincere thanks towards each and every member of staff at the hotel for their 5* service! For any bride and groom their wedding day is of principle importance and they hope for a magical experience - this hotel delivered on every level. We were greeted on arrival by a very pleasant Receptionist who welcomed us as if we were staying at her personal home. A lovely warm welcome which set the scene for the rest of the excellent customer service we received during our visit. Fortunately for us our room was ready on our early arrival. The room resembled an old country house. Clean and spacious with an array of toiletries and tea/coffee/mineral water. The light and airy room where the ceremony took place had views across the breath-taking grounds. Chandeliers and tasteful decor - it was beautifully furnished. The Wedding Breakfast was delicious - the food was of a very high standard. What made it extra special was the service - all waiting staff were attentive and pleasant. Smiling and courteous they attended to each table efficiently but without haste. The evening BBQ was plentiful and tasty too - the only minor constructive criticism would be a few more outdoor lights to make it more visible when making a selection. Beds were comfy and the breakfast selection and quality emulated that of the Wedding Breakfast - lovely! Would highly recommend this hotel to any potential bride and groom. A memorable wedding day thanks to Leigh Park. Sincere thanks, Jonathan, Katrina, Sarah & Phillipa Brown

    « Poor »

Recently attended a wedding and sadly the food was very poor. Reheated and miserable staff. Everyone walking around like it was a funeral instead of a wedding. I asked for a plate and a member of staff simply pointed at the them behind where she was serving and could clearly see I could not reach them from behind her. Exceptionally rude to be honest and very poor standard. The setting is nice and the rest of the facilities are okay.

    « Wedding »

We had our wedding here and Rebecca and her team could not do enough for us. They made what is normally a stressful occasion a very smooth and stress free day.I would definitely recommend if you are budgeting for a wedding but this by no means feels like a budget wedding and the staff can not do enough. Will look to visit again to just reminisce with my wife

    « Our wedding »

We had an excellent wedding at this hotel they made everything really stress free. All of the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Rebecca in particular who is the wedding planner was amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed

    « Poor room »

Checked in a room with flies and kitchen's fan just below our room, complained to reception can't do anything cos hotel is fully booked for weeping and realised our room has not been serviced by housekeeping yet. How can they can check in guest without service the room yet. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR SERVICE.

    « Beautiful house »

This hotel is about 6 miles from Bath and a good base for seeing the area. Our room was in the converted stable block and overlooked the vineyard. The room was beautifully clean and very comfortable....would have no hesitation to return. Breakfast was delicious and dishes and more continental options available....and served in an attractive conservatory overlooking the garden. It is a popular wedding hotel and we were slightly disconcerted to find that there was a wedding reception when we stayed, but we were not disturbed at all by the party or by people leaving.

    « Very enjoyable »

We stayed for a weekend away and found this hotel to be delightful. Even though there were weddings on all weekend we did not find this impacted us in the slightest. The room was lovely and spacious and the food was simply delicious. Breakfast was a buffet but the staff were continually coming out with fresh food. We found the staff to be very polite and helpful with no request being too much effort for them. All in all a very enjoyable stay, will definitely be back!!

    « Disappointed »

Was there for stepsons wedding, bookings messed up , no where for groom, best man or parents of bride and groom to get ready as was requested when we arrived at 8 am yet other guest from wedding party got their rooms on arrival. room where we had meal very cramped, meal was nice and hot, no discount for guest from wedding party, wedding not worth the money that was paid , only 20 chairs put out for outside wedding so most of guests had to stand , we took a sweet cart that was put in shabby back room the had not even been washed neither did it get washed, bride and groom were not looked after as you would expect them to be on such a special day, morning after their stuff including cake which they didn't cover and placed on top of a cushion on a chair and not safely on the table , breakfast staff were the most polite and cheerful ones, the MC was miserable and arrogant very disappointed , as for the evening buffet didn't look very appetising I certainly could not face eating it the way it looked .

« Customer not the priority »

I attended a wedding at the weekend which was lovely but the staff need some serious work (granted - not all of them). I rang when first booking the room to ask for an early check in as we needed to get ready first. I was told this wouldn't be a problem and rang a couple of weeks earlier to check this. Again I was told it shouldn't be a problem. The wedding was at 1.30 and we arrived at 11. The room wasn't ready meaning we had to squash with friends to get ready in theirs. we were told it shouldn't be long so checked back before the ceremony at 1 - still not ready, it wasn't ready at 2.30 and it wasn't ready at 3.15 (despite official check in being 3pm). We were told that if we came back after the wedding meal it should be ready (should!). We didn't end up getting into our room until gone 5pm. When discussing with other guests, it turned out this was a common problem and even the groom was left without a room until that evening. We found out the housekeeping team had gone out the night before and were all hungover, hence the slacking. I don't judge but when you have paying customers, they should be the priority. If we hadn't been attending a wedding, we would have been waiting there for hours and hours! Working in a hotel reception myself, if we have guests turn up earlier than expected - they become priority. The bar during the day was poorly staffed, with only 1 person to serve a whole wedding party. (And he was a bundle of joy..not). The wedding was beautiful but the hotel was overpriced, the staff don't care about their guests and i can't see myself returning anytime soon.

« Shabby without the Chic »

Was a walk in at midnight and did manage to get a room so I am grateful for that. Ninety one quid for B&B means that this place should deliver more than a travel lodge but cannot be expected to reach the standard of other "country house hotels" (something it regards itself to be). The room and bathroom fell way short of a travel lodge - it had poor quality beds (or at least the one I slept in), a shower with very weak water pressure (a basic failure which is unacceptable) and was generally shabby and dated. Although judging it as a country house hotel may be harsh at the prices quoted the hotel largely failed on that score - public areas were functional but dreary, although of course the setting and gardens are beautiful. Breakfast was average but the house doesn't live up to its pedigree (it was once owned by Robert Dudley, Elizabeth I's favourite courtier).

« A beautiful and charming place with lots of old English character »

We loved this place at first site. The building and premises have that old world English character. The views around the property are very pleasant. Everything was clean and well kept. The site is located 5 minutes away from the charming town of Bradford-On-Avon, and 20 min. drive to beautiful Bath. We stayed in the coach house, which is not part of the main building. However, it is still a beautiful building with lots of character. The room was roomy and very clean. The bathroom facilities were excellent. The staff was super friendly and helpful with all our questions.

    « Inconsiderate staff »

Received a pleasant welcome on arrival, and then directed to our room (261) which was in the Coach House, a detached building with a vineyard on one side and the drive leading to the rear car park on the other. It was also directly opposite the area obtaining a number of screened-off rubbish bins. It was a large comfortable room situated on the ground floor, but the first thing we noticed were the numerous liquid stains on the carpet from previous occupants. Perhaps some stain removed might lessen the impact. There was a refreshment tray with biscuits and bottled water, which were replenished each day. The bathroom had underfloor heating (not used), a heated towel rail, and a very efficient shower. The room had two smallish sash windows, one of which was sealed shut, whilst the second could only be opened about six inches obviously for security reasons. We arrived on a hot Friday evening to find a wedding reception taking place which was no problem, but the noisy wedding guests returning to their cars late in the evening made sleeping very difficult. But worse of all was the inconsiderate member(s) of staff who felt it necessary to send empty bottles crashing into the nearby rubbish bins exceedingly annoying. The last of these actions occurred at 3.30am! The next day was little different, when a civil ceremony had taken place. Bottles again went crashing into the bins, but thankfully this only lasted until just after midnight. If the weather had been cooler we could have closed the window, but as it was a stifling weekend this was not an option. Had this been a Premier Inn we would at least have received a refund under their ?good nights sleep guaranteed, or your money back'. Luckily there were no functions on our third night, so we had an excellent nights sleep. Breakfast was a semi self service affair of hot and cold dishes, and had all the ingredients to set you up nicely for the day ahead. The hotel has a large well maintained garden, and a small vineyard for guests to stroll through. Overall a very pleasant hotel, but one probably to avoid at weekends.

« "Pleasant Hotel for a Mini Break" »

We stayed from Wednesday to Sunday for a mini break. The hotel is set in lovely grounds with a small vineyard. Our room was on the ground floor at the front of the hotel, nice and easy access as the hotel has no lift. The room was large enough and the bathroom a good size, although the shower could be rather temperamental. I made sure when I booked that our room rate included breakfast as it seems common practice now for hotels to offer room only. Breakfast can be costly when added on and although the breakfast was adequate I could not say it was amazing. The weather was warm while we were there and because the room was on the ground floor we did not open the windows and the room was stuffy at night. The staff were always helpful and attentive. We ate in the hotel dining room on the Saturday evening and both chose the beef wellington which was first class, so tender. There were two weddings held during our stay but there was no noise intrusion at all. The hotel is ideally situated for local sightseeing and visiting Bath, which can be done by train. The town is about a twenty minute walk - downhill, so beware coming back!! I would recommend and stay again.

« Let down by Management »

I arrived 15-20 mins before the restaurant closed and was directed there for food from reception. The restaurant 'manager' then asked me to wait while he checked with the chef. The chef said no so ended up going to a garage for a sandwich - clearly the customer was not the priority. First and last time in a Best Western.

    « Nice Gardens »

Had an overnight in the Coach House (Annexe). Room was adequate but very poor natural light. (Due to the design) Shower decent and the room was clean. Not much of a desk if you want to carry out any work. Didnt have dinner but the breakfast offered plenty of options. The staff were very pleasent. The have nice gardens and even a small vineyard and Orchard. Might stay again if in the area.

Had a lovely time at this hotel, great place to stay, nice location, restaurant very good, food very good although a little more than we would normally like to pay however it was for a special occasion, staff excellent in all areas, would highly recommend if you are in the area

    « Excellent weekend. »

The weekend started with a very friendly receptionist welcoming us and directing us to our room in the coach house. Not huge but big enough overlooking the vineyard. The bathroom needed a light over the mirror but we managed. The hotel had three weddings on while we were there but none intruded on our stay and we heard nothing of the late night discos. The menu would get boring with a longer stay (it was practically the same both nights). It was a bit unimaginative, but good both nights. Perhaps the kitchen cannot cope with many extras with so many functions to cater for.The Saturday evening we practically ate alone so there was no atmosphere in the restaurant as the wedding obviously took over the hotel. The same nice receptionist wished us a safe journey when we left. We enjoyed our break.

    « A friendly and elegant hotel »

Delightful hotel, very friendly and discreet staff. Excellent room. I was very impressed with the size and decoration of my room, in a country elegant style and by the green spacious gardens. Very cheerful atmosphere, Perfect for a romantic escaped or a wedding party.

    « Wedding!! »

We had our wedding here on 07/08/2016 and we absolutely loved every second of it. The venue is beautiful and the staff were all so helpful and friendly. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. It's clear that they know what they are doing, and they do it well. I stayed in the hotel the night before with my bridesmaids, as we got a complementary room for booking on the day of the wedding fair, and it was lovely and spacious, easily fitted 3 people with an extra single bed (not a fold out cot like you find sometimes) and the double bed was huge! There was a wedding on that night, but we couldn't hear a thing as we were on the top floor of the main house. In the morning, the staff willingly offered to help set up with my new husband and his groomsmen, and where we didn't have enough bowls for our sweet table they kindly let us borrow some. The wedding coordinator, Rebecca, is absolutely brilliant. She was very understanding that I like things a certain way, and she made us feel very at ease throughout every stage, and we kept in constant communication so we never felt like we didn't know what was going on. Our master of ceremonies for the day, Jack, was amazing and a really down to earth guy. He was always happy to help with whatever requests we had, and nothing seemed like a silly question. We booked the resident DJ with them for the reception. He was really good and happily took song requests. We stayed in the honeymoon suite on the night of the wedding, which was beautiful. Fire place, four poster bed and views over the gardens and towards the Westbury white horse. We honestly couldn't have asked for a better day and we will definitely stay there again in the future. Thank you everyone at Leigh Park, you are all amazing!

    « A good 3 star hotel »

We stayed for 2 nights in a standard double. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was fine although the shower could have been rather more powerful. But it was adequate. We booked breakfast and the choice was reasonable. Perhaps a better choice of fruits and bread products would lift the standard. But look at the breakfast menu before helping yourself from the buffet as there is more choice than you might otherwise think. Service was fine and all in all, value for money.

    « Fantastic friendly hotel »

Went back for our 1st anniversary and its lovely to be remembered by staff and greated by our wedding planner becky. Most friendliest hotel we have stayed in. So peaceful and has well kept gardens and a lovely view. Food is fantastic . Thank You to david for looking after us and keeping us supplied with drinks. We will be back!!! Again..

    « Very enjoyable stay »

Myself and husband stayed at Leigh park hotel for three nights, the whole stay was very relaxing, as I'm disabled i was a bit worried how disabled friendly the hotel would be but was pleasantly surprised to find they catered for my needs without any problem, the staff were wonderful and very helpful, the room was ample in size and the shower room had all my needs, everywhere was clean. The restaurant was lovely and plenty of room, as I am vegitarian it's difficult to find choice at restaurants however the first two meals I was offered a choice by the chef, the only let down was the meal on the last night the veggie option was stuffed courgette, as I don't really like courgettes I requested an option to be told there wasn't any, it seemed a bit harsh to only give one option when meat eaters had a few choices, I couldn't understand why only one night there was no option. I did try the courgettes but didn't like it so was disappointed . But this has not in anyway spoilt what was a great visit.

    « Nice stay »

Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. WARNING: if you book via internet check that breakfast is included. I thought it was but then realised it wasn't and had over £100 extra to pay. Not hotels fault but annoying all the same.

    « Wedding Day! »

We have just arrived home from a lovely stay at the Leigh Park Hotel, having been to a family wedding. The hotel did a fab job for the wedding, We couldn't fault it at all. Our room in the 'coach house' was clean and comfortable, the only downside was the lighting in the bathroom, and no instructions to turn on the over mirror light. Breakfast was ok, with plenty of variety, something for every taste. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding!!!

    « Average »

Stayed fora week for work. Room nice and spacious. Beds awkward as 2 together at different heights !!! Pleasant grounds and good car parking. But the meals were very average......dry food, and very rude the point that his colleague apologised on his behalf. We stopped eating there on an evening following this. I would not return

« Very comfortable stay, happy to recommend »

Stayed here for 1 night as need to be near to Trowbridge. Charming receptionists allocated me a ground floor room in the coach house which was very comfortable and well appointed. Good bed and quality bedding. Free Wi-Fi in the room. Room service dinner was superb as was cooked breakfast in the restaurant with a lovely view. Plenty of free on-site parking. A really nice hotel in a peaceful location. Would happily stay here again!

    « Wedding 2016 »

We got married here on 22/7/16, we had our ceremony here & reception. What an amazing day sun was blazing & the hotel were amazing. Everything ran smoothly and the staff are lovely and so helpful. Bridal suite & the room I stayed in the night before were both great. I'd recommend it to anybody. Really helped make our wedding an even better day!

« Fantastic hotel and staff »

I have been staying 2 to 3 nights a week at the Leigh Park with work for the last 8 months. I have stayed in almost every hotel in the Chippenham/Corsham area and choose the Leigh park for many reasons. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good but not fussy, the rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. Although my work paid, the Leigh park is exceptional value for money and well located for Bath, Bradford and the surrounding area.

    « Bed + Breakfast - Excellent »

Ideal location for a few days to explore Bath and surrounding are. Plenty of parking. Rooms were average but clean. Good facilities, TV, wifi, shampoos, coffee, tea in rooms. Breakfast excellent. Would definately stay again

    « Nothing Special! »

Overall i was disappointed with this hotel. We paid for a 'deluxe room' which judging by the photos only means "we've redecorated this sooner than the rest". We were put up in the 'Stable Block'. The rooms were clean with a very comfortable MASSIVE bed, but for a deulux room for a couple I would expect a bath for this price and a bit of 'wow factor' this had no more wow factor than a Premier Inn. We arrived late and the staff had given up on us attending, it looked like they were about to shut up for the night and that it was an inconvenience that we'd shown up. There was a wedding party on right outside our window, which you think would have been given to someone actually attending the wedding rather than for another guest to listen to until about 1am. Their no smoking policy also seems to be an 'optional' policy for guests as the common areas smelt strongly of smoke. For the price paid i would not recommend staying here!

    « Comfortable stay , lovely grounds »

The location and setting was beautiful, which explains why it's a popular wedding destination. We stayed here 2 nights for our visit to longleat, as it's only a 20 minute drive to the park....and as accommodation goes it was comfortable......Though it does look a bit tired and dated, and the luggage racks were broken. The breakfast was full English, but i'd advise to order poached or fried eggs instead as that would be more fresh. Silver lining is It's only a 5 minute drive into the picturesque town, which has some delightful places to eat.

    « 80th Birthday family celebration »

Weekend of 17-19th June. We held a family gathering here for a weekend with a big meal on the Saturday to celebrate my Mum's 80th Birthday. We could not have chosen better! Firstly i have to praise the Manager Pam Ducket. She always took my many calls, or got back straight away. She was very helpful and friendly and came up with many ideas to help me organise this weekend. She gave me names and numbers for outside help too like a hairdresser for mum, someone for flowers and another for balloons and room decorations. We needed various bedrooms for various members of the family, all of which were accommodated for. The food for all the guests was spot on even with various individual special requirements. The staff were all very happy and helpful. The hotel is very bright and clean and the gardens and views are a perfect place for photographs. Just perfect! My husband and I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend Leigh Park to anyone. Wendy

« Staff could be more friendly »

Arrived late at night to find reception staff having a stroppy because we didn't inform my 5 years old son was going to sleep on our bed. The receptionist was not very friendly and did make us feel very uncomfortable.

    « Bradford on Avon »

Lovely setting very close to Bradford on Avon, so excellent for visiting. Very gentile country hotel. Excellent staff. Nice to sit in the conservatory with a drink and relax looking over the gardens before going in for a lovely dinner.

« Our fabulous wedding day!???? »

Well what can we say? Absolutely amazing, from the moment we booked our day with Rebecca, she was always on hand to answer any questions & help to make our day as special as possible. The master of ceremonies Chris, was also superb on the day, making sure everything ran smoothly alongside Rebecca. Every single member of staff went above and beyond, making sure our guests were attended to, a special mention to Noel, Who has certainly gained a few fans! ?????? The venue is absolutely STUNNING! The grounds are very well kept, which has made for some wonderful photos to remind us of our day. The day ran extremely smoothly, the food was excellent, we could not fault it. We have nothing but good things to say about Leigh park, & would just like to say a massive thank you to all involved, for helping make memories which will last a lifetime. We will be back for our 1st anniversary, & if I could I would do it all again tomorrow & would not change a thing. Gemma & Henry. (Mr & Mrs Topham)??

« Wedding at Leigh Park Hotel »

We recently help my daughters wedding at the Leigh Park Hotel, Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire and it was an excellent day in every aspect. Well organised, nice facilities and nice people with a lovely backdrop of the wonderful Wiltshire countryside. The service was excellent throughout our stay but especially through the duration of the wedding and evening party. What also amazed me was the cost of such an event - excellent value for money. Thank you everyone for giving me and my family a day they will not forget.

« Wonderful Wedding at Leigh Park Hotel 4th june »

We held our wedding at Leigh Park Hotel and from the moment we met Pam and the team, a year prior to the main event, they were nothing but a delight. So helpful but so at ease with everything. The fact they hold so many weddings was not just reassuring they know what they are doing but, as we also found out, why so many Wed there. The Venue itself is perfect an old building but wonderfully decorated and with a wedding venue that unlike several we visited flows ideally especially for weddings. The wedding ceremony was held in the vine room and then we moved through to the Vendange suite area. Ideal for our 80 guests a lovely oak floored wedding breakfast room that later opens up through oak doors to a wonderful dance floor and also a large bar area and quiet room at the back. The main room also leads out onto wonderful grounds that was perfect for all to enjoy and for kids to runaround. We bought our own garden games like footballs great for the men and boys and the hoola hoops for the kids a real winner. The hotel also has its own vineyard wonderful for our romantic wedding shots. We bought hotel produced wine as gifts for our guests which for many already has been a real winner. The fireworks, that the hotel can organise for you, were also a winner and the flowers that again the venue can help with (through Jacqui), were beautiful .We'd also recommend our other services, beautiful cake (sandra monger), magician (grand maidment), both from Bath and the harpist (Christine Hinder) from Swindon. The honeymoon suite is wonderfully decorated and a lovely bathroom and wonderful views over the gardens and countryside. We also experienced some of the bedrooms in the in the coach house which again were nicely decorated/designed. So to round up the service, organisation and food on the day was great as was the service that Pam, Rebecca and all the team provided us from the moment we made our choice (which wasn't a difficult one)! Just a shame a wedding takes so long to arrange and so little to enjoy but thanks to all at Leigh Park, that's just what we did and will never forget.

« Just what we needed »

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Bath and surrounding areas. We were in the coach house which is separate from the main building and due to a wedding on Saturday night was a little noisy from the reception and guests leaving the car park. But overall, very clean and reasonable bed. We ate in the restaurant one night and had a very nice meal with the restaurant in the conservatory overlooking the garden. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Would stay gain if right deal was on.

    « Nice hotel »

Clean, parking on site and probably one of my 2nd best best Western hotels I have stayed in. Wifi inclusive and hopefully food Will be good too. Bathroom was clean and bed comfortable. Definitely recommended and will return if I get the chance.

« Attended wedding reception here »

Stayed at this hotel last night (4th June) following attending a wedding reception there. Hotel is magnificent and we were really impressed with our room. Wedding reception was also superb! Rebecca the wedding planner was so friendly and made me feel so welcome, and I was only one of the guests! Room was clean and wifi worked fab! The size of the bathroom was amazing. HUGE shower cubicle that was very clean! We stayed in room 253. The bed was king size and so comfy! We received a bottle of wine from the vineyard there on check out. Was a really nice touch to send you on your way following the wedding. The hotel staff were really helpful and pleasant. You were always referred to as air or madam and nothing was too much trouble. I wish I could say the same for the front desk/reception staff, however they were very rude, impersonal-able and made sarcastic comments! - particularly the one with blonde hair! That is my only quibble and we didn't let that spoil our stay, everything else was perfect and I will defo be recommending to friends and family and returning!

    « Pleasant Stay »

I arrived at the hotel after a long journey to find plenty of parking space. The staff were efficent and friendly and I was directed to the Coach House. My room was spacious and clean with a plenty supply of beverages and I was easily able to get on-line. It was a beautiful sunny day, so was able to make use of the superbly maintained garden. I had a good nights sleep, as it was very quiet. Breakfast is buffet style and was hot. I would be happy to return.

    « A great (Unplanned) getaway! »

We stumbled across this little gem by accident, (14th May) I was looking for somewhere to stay so I could rediscover my birth town of Bradford on Avon whilst we were passing. The welcome was really genuine and the lady at reception made us feel really special she even went as far as searching for the hospital we were hoping to visit. When we told her why we were visiting she made sure we had a really nice room in the old coach house. The receptionist recommended the hotel restaurant which is where we ate that night, again the welcome was very professional and the food and wine (from their own Vin-yard) was very well presented and tasty. Our room was lovely, looking over the Vin-yard, not particularly to our taste in décor but very in-keeping with the location and hotel style. We had such a good stay we got up and immediately booked a second night at reception. Breakfast was buffet style which I wouldn't have expected at this hotel but no complaints the restaurant staff were very attentive and were happy to cook (to order) fried eggs for me. My only gripe would be that like a few other comments, my check-out was silent. No-body asked if we had enjoyed our stay or if everything was to our satisfaction (a different lady to the one who checked us in) which is a shame because I couldn't wait to tell them how great our stay was. It seemed as if it didn't matter as long as I knew my pin number. Overall a great (unplanned) weekend we would certainly recommend!

« Amazing Location for Wedding Reception »

We had our wedding reception at Leigh Park on Saturday 7th May. The preparation was made extremely easy with help from Rebecca and other staff, all fine details were taken care of. The day itself was perfect, the suite looked stunning, the backdrop of the hotel is rolling countryside and was perfect for photos etc. The gardens are so beautifully kept. The wedding breakfast was fantastic and the waiting staff were highly attentive. Our master of ceremonies did a brilliant job in getting everything organised on the day and all ran smoothly. Our room was perfect and very comfortable, we had many guests stay the night and it was very positive all round. All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to book as a wedding venue, it was an absolutely amazing day with thanks to the staff at Leigh Park.

    « One night mid-week stay »

We booked a room in this hotel because we have stayed there once before but many years ago. Unfortunately it was no longer as good as it was then but, having said that, last time we were in the main house and this time in the Coach House. Arrival at Reception was OK and our room in the old Coach House had lovely views over the garden and vineyard. On entering our double room I immediately noticed how dusty everything was. The furniture was dark and the sun was shining and this immediately showed up the thick layer of dust everywhere. I rang Reception to ask to be moved to a cleaner room but was told there were none as they were full and we had to settle for it being dusted while we were at Dinner. Whilst complaining about the dusty room I also asked how to turn on the light (which had finger marks all over it from the previous occupants) over the bathroom sink. My husband who is 6 ft 1 inches could reach it but could not see how to turn it on. We were told how to switch it on but I could only reach it with difficulty. I eventually found some switches in the wardrobe which were for the bathroom but I never did get the 'heated' towel rail to come on and had by now lost the will to live! Pre-dinner drinks and dinner were perfectly acceptable but us, and other guests, would have appreciated if it had been a 'no mobile phone' dining room! The bed was comfortable and clean. I found Breakfast only adequate. An ample supply of tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits were provided in he room.

« An idyllic location, but could do better with service »

Whilst the arrival at this hotel leaves you with a pleasantly surprised, both by the location, and the old traditional buildings, the nuts and bolts of providing customer service, whilst functional perhaps do not live up to the expectations of the modern day business traveller. The rooms are clean, and rooms on the upper floor have excellent views of the local countryside Food is about par for the course, and complimentary WiFi (a little slow) is available throughout the hotel.

    « Pleasant »

Beautiful building. A little aged in decor and carpets (I stayed in Room 44 on the second floor). Friendly staff. It had a peaceful and homely feel and I would stay there again. It is very convenient for Bradford on Avon and about 15 minutes by car from Bath.

« First the good points »

A pleasant, well situated hotel with delightful, helpful staff. Nice restaurant with mainly good food and reasonably varied menu. The Leigh Park comes up to its 3 star rating. I stayed for a week and had a clean, modern room in the coach house with view over the vineyard. Sadly, I understand, none of the rooms in that building have a bath. The shower is a good size. The "lounge" area (only in the main building) is not a convivial shape and somewhat inadequate for the number of guests staying. I arrived around 5.00pm tired after a long drive to walk into a very cold room. It was the week of extreme weather: hail, snow, sleet, thunder, frost, sun and rain. The room was unheated and I was told that the heating would come on at 6.00pm (around the time to go down to the bar?) and I found went off at approx. 9.00pm (just when one returns to the room?). To the staff's credit I was offered a plug-in heater for the room but when attempting to rectify the situation of insufficient heating with staff the following morning didn't appreciate a comment that they "had to be green" whilst I was turning blue. Additionally I pointed out to the staff that my towel rail was cold. I don't like having to use wet towels. Reception said they would look into it. That evening after returning from a day out, I was told that the heating had been put on for me.......... including the "oh so welcome" underfloor heating in the shower room which I would never have known existed and remained on regardless of the general central heating. If the hotel insists on leaving a room freezing cold for incoming guests, perhaps they could leave a note (I didn't find one) explaining how to put some of the heating on which, it transpired, required grovelling in the hanging clothes cupboard to locate various switches. To add insult to injury, the shower room heating and towel rail were turned off part way through my stay but by then I was wise enough to know how to put it back on. I did feel it was a nice hotel with generally exceptionally friendly, courteous and helpful staff but the cold room on arrival and general problems with the heating did mar my stay and had it not been for that I would have given a better than average rating.

    « Wedding »

We have just got back home after having our wedding reception at leigh park. The venue was stunning, the staff....Fantastic and the bridal suite was perfect. We honestly couldn't ask for more and Rebecca was so helpful throughout. THANK YOU

« Looks can be deceiving »

From the outside I was nicely surprised at the hotel, it looked quite impressive. There wasn't really enough parking (due to a function) so ended up parking in the middle of the car park which was acceptable apparently. The reception was modern and the girl who welcomed us was friendly and helpful - at this point I was feeling optimistic. Up the spiral staircase we went, found our room and oh no, disappointed straight away. I don't mind a smallish room but when the decor is dated it just really dampens your spirit. We tried the "bar" - again helpful staff but there was no atmosphere it felt more like a library or doctors surgery waiting room! Back to the room, the bed was small and for my boyfriend, uncomfortable. The pillows were hard and high. Then we get to the bathroom - only one towel for two people!! And the shower had no pressure - at one stage I thought it had turned off it was so soft. However whilst there were quite a few negatives I can't fault the staff or the breakfast which was delicious. Unfortunately that's just not enough to make me want to return.

« Not so good this time »

Having stayed here before and in the Exec rooms in the Stable block with my elderly parents, the overnight stop was not helped by the noise from a wedding party right outside our rooms when guests were outside the function room making a lot of noise well after 01.00. No objection to enjoying the occasion but making so much noise outside guest bedrooms oblivious to the fact that people were trying to sleep was disappointing and I am sure this must have happened before. Perhaps the hotel staff could encourage guests to use the other side of the building where fewer "sleeping" guests would be disturbed? Larger rooms more space, one comfortable chair to use, why not two?

    « Wedding Stay »

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights for a family wedding. We had a family room booked (45) which was great. Lots of room & fab 'rain' shower in bathroom. Bit of a windy staircase & feel that someone with mobility issues may have struggled to get to 2nd floor? Great breakfast (need beans though?!) & very pleasant staff. Would recommend.

« Shame about the coffee »

Beautiful location with Bradford on Avon close enough to walk, but far enough to keep the country feel. Rooms in the adjacent Coach House were clean and comfortable. All good but for weak and gutless coffee at breakfast. Fix that and they could get five stars.

    « Good nights stay »

Stayed here for the first time on business. Always stayed somewhere else when in the area. Room was quite airy and large. Bed very comfortable and nice views of the gardens. Ate dinner in the bar and had a nice steak. Staff can be difficult to get hold of as not many about. One on the bar and serving food and one on reception. Lots of car parking available. No complaints really just nothing special, tend to stay elsewhere when in Bath and would probably revert back to type rather than stay here. Little bit dated but does the job.

    « Best friends wedding »

We stayed at The Best Western Leigh Park hotel for our friends wedding. A lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms comfy and spacious with a huge bed and fabulous shower. The staff helped to make the wedding reception an awesome experience. Would definitely stay again.

    « A lovely mini-break »

A very pleasant experience. Staff attentive and helpful. Facilities well presented and managed. The hotel has a very good feeling, and was very comfortable. Location is excellent for experiencing the beauty of the South Cotswold region and the City of Bath is within easy reach.

« hotel good let down by poor breakfast service »

Small restaurant but kitchen could not keep a simple cooked buffet breakfast bar stocked and guest left standing with plates waiting for bacon and scrambled eggs for 15 minutes. By the time I finally got my breakfast my toast which I had stood putting through twice as it was only toasting on 1 side had been removed from my table and I had to start with the toast all over again. Nice hotel lovely setting let down by clearly insufficient breakfast kitchen cover. So not a great start to the 1st day, it did improve the following day so I can only guess I was not the only guest distinctly unimpressed the forst morning.

« Valentines Weekend (Samanthas turn) »

We stayed for the weekend of Valentines so we could visit Longleat. The Hotel was good, The Reception Staff could have got out of their seat to great us however maybe they'd had a hard day! We'd just driven up from Plymouth so quickly went out for a bite to eat. Breakfast on Saturday was excellent and served impeccably. Valentines dinner that night was really good, it was evident that care and thought had gone into the menu and once again the staff were impeccable. There was a private function on that night and having been boarded in the Stables (very comfortable) we were disturbed by an inconsiderate coach driver parked next to out bedroom window who insisted on keeping his engine running. This wasn't the fault of the hotel however the coach driver was an inconsiderate animal and refused to turn his engine off, this lasted until 2330. Not nice!!! Maybe the Hotel could provide parking away from their accommodation. Overall it is worth 5/5 but I'm not sure I would stay again unless it was confirmed NO COACHES!!

« Overnight stay for an evening in Bath »

We were going to a Black Tie event in the centre of Bath, and our organisers booked us into this hotel. I'm so pleased we stayed here, what a beautiful place! With its own vineyards in the grounds, I wish we we able to stay longer than one night! Although we didn't use the hotel facilities - we just needed somewhere to stay for our event - I would definitely stay again if we needed to come back to this area. Very helpful, friendly staff. There was a wedding happening here as well, and would say it's a lovely place to spend your special day.

« A lovely stay and felt valued as a repeat guest »

I have not stayed here for over 18 months and was welcomed back warmly! The management team is excellent and the grounds are kept immaculate. My evening meal was superb and the dining experience was only let down by poor breakfast quality which was a shame.

« Mothers Day Weeked Treat »

Our daughter arranged for us to spend the weekend here. ?We have previously stayed at Christmas but never at a more 'normal' time.?Once again our stay was lovely. Both rooms were lovely and spacious and the beds are very comfortable. ?The staff are extremely friendly (but not in your face, over the top) and very helpful. ?I admire the staff for their professionalism with some of the rude and obnoxious people they have to deal with which we unfortunately witnessed on the Saturday evening whilst dining in the restaurant. ??The food is really good, especially in the restaurant. My daughter highly recommends the Coffee Panacotta!??There was a slight issue with one of the blinds in our daughter's room but once reported this was resolved very quickly and without any issues at at. Yes it is a dated building but most hotels in and around Bath are - it adds to the character. The rooms are being updated but this takes time. Be patient, but if you are interested in this property try it for yourself the judge.??Thanks to Pam for arranging this surprise stay with our daughter and also to Chris, Noel and the rest of the team for making our stay so relaxed and comfortable.

    « Our wedding »

We chose the hotel for our wedding on 12th March 16 and our whole day was perfect. Special thanks to Rebecca and Chris for making sure the day ran smoothly and the other members of staff who were all so helpful. I really couldn't fault the hotel, the whole day was incredible. All the rooms were a great size, we have no complaints at all! Stunning grounds, great food and wonderful staff. Thank you for making our day so special. We will definately be returning sometime soon.

    « Leigh park Hotel »

The Hotel is situated in its own grounds with vineyard attached. I do feel that some level of refurbishment is due in the near future, everything is looking very tiered and well worn. I expect as a minimum a very comfortable bed on my business trips and found this only just acceptable for purpose.

« Nice View and Beautiful Grounds »

Close to Bath and surrounding attractions this hotel has a great view and beautiful grounds. Check-in staff friendly and very helpful. Nice lounge area to sit and look at the view. Good size room and bathroom. Food in restaurant was good with service ok.

    « Terrible hotel »

Stayed at this hotel for my sisters wedding. From moment of arrival the staff were rude. Have never in my life experienced treatment like at this hotel. Manager made no effort to placate the situation or rectify it. Just challenged us and my father ended up trying to make piece with them. When he approached them and asked to turn over another leaf was told they were about to ask us to leave. Am flabbergasted at the apparent lack of experience of dealing with a large party of people. Have myself worked in customer service my whole working life. Also no lift. Food was inadequate. And our keys left in an envelope on reception with the main door open. So serious breach of security.

« rudest confrontational manager and some staff-horrible experience »

stay ruined by aggressive argumentative manager and staff when we queried 2 things about the hotel.despite having 96 year old lady and family party for a wedding manager was about to throw us out for asking why there was no lift and no spare not stay here as despite it being pretty house it has a manager who is the rudest and most miscast in a job you will ever meet.complaining to head customer service .accused of barging into their meeting when we arrived and walked into a front room to wait for rooms.unbelievable.nearly ruined daughters wedding.

« just back from weekend away there »

stayed there last weekend, when we arrived our room wasnt ready they didnt know how long it would be so gave us another room. not impressed with the rooms, old drafty windows the room was freezing and the rad wouldnt come on when asked in reception the said the heating was on a timer to come on at 4:30, when went to have a shower about 5:30 tiped water would be kind, went up to reception as thought shower was broken they gave me another room key but when checked that shower it was a case of no hot water at all when i said this to reception all the response was there is nothing i can do on saturday the water was just the same. the food in the resturant was nice, at breakfast u had to keep getting up to fill up ur own coffee or tea would be handy if they put some at the tables seen as there was 2 guys standing at the door just telling you where things were but nothing else. food was nice if they could give more choice like more than just scrambled egg. wouldnt go back to the hotel, £4.50 for a bottle of budweiser that my husband had to wait ages to be served at the bar rang the bell went to reception but was about 15 minutes waiting for someone. rooms have peeling paint stains on the carpert drafty windows dodgy taps. wouldnt stay here again.

    « Nice hotel »

nicely located quiet hotel, except for the early morning plumbing noise, but lovely views across the valley, the restaurant was very good too with generous portion sizes and the staff were very helpful and pleasant.

« Could Be So Much Better »

My wife & I visited the area for a long weekend break and used the hotel as a base. The position is great, and the grounds beautiful, such a pity we could see none of them from our "superior" room in a coach house annex. Our view was the side wall of the main hotel, kitchens and service yard, staff taking a smoke break and the Saturday night function goers using the same area for similar purposes, but with 10 times the volume. Really pleasant eh, good job we didn't book an inferior room! The room itself was roomy, reasonably furnished and bland, but 3 star. The en suite only had a shower, and we missed the soak in the bath after a long day out seeing the sights. The evening meal was very nice and well served on Friday. Breakfast (£12 extra per head per day) served OK food in a buffet style, and really terrible tea which you had to get yourself from a keepwarm flask. It was both stewed and luke warm. This could be a great hotel in an impressive building, but lacked the finishing touches and had a lot of prissy do's and dont's in messages around the room. I am glad to see that the no denim rule was universally ignored by both guests and staff. So why publish the rule? Just a few small things would have earned you at least an extra point in your rating.

    « Excellent Wedding Venue »

We booked the Leigh Park Hotel for our wedding in January on a Special Winter Package which was excellent value for money, we cannot fault the venue and the services of Rebecca the hotel wedding planner who was very approachable and extremely flexible catering for all our wishes, wants and needs. we can honestly say everything was professionally organised and stress free which left us to enjoy every minute of the day and evening celebrations. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Friendly staff, excellent food and lovely venue.

« Best Western Leigh Park Hotel, Bradford upon Avon »

A quiet hotel on the edge of Bradford Upon Avon. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, smart and professional. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Bar meals and drinks were good value for money and there was a good variety of food for breakfast. Check in and check out was fast and efficient. Thanks for our stay.

    « Great! »

The staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is really good and only a short (albeit steep) stroll down into the village. The breakfast is great and the conservatory dining area has a great view! The room was a good size although the decor a bit tired in places and the bathroom fan very noisy.

    « A bit tired »

Stunning building and grounds but the hotel itself is a bit tired. In need of a bit of modernisation whilst keeping its charm. Building and grounds have the wow factor but does not carry on through the Hotel.

« Could not of wished for more »

Stayed her for Valentine's on Saturday night . The room was stunning and spotless lovely Power shower . The staff were so friendly really made our stay special . The barman was a real credit to the hotel . Had a 4 course meal really top quality . The waiting staff were great and really polite and chatty . Breakfast was nice everything you could want hot and fresh . Can't wait to return x

    « Valentine's getaway »

We stayed in this hotel with the intention of visiting Longley Safari park and Bath. This hotel was well located for both without having to pay considerably more to stay in Bath. The building and grounds are quite lovely and the bed very comfy. One problem was the room was stifling as the radiator was on and couldn't be turned down (we managed eventually) nor could a window be opened as we were on the bottom floor. A pleasant stay.

    « Pleasant hotel »

We stayed over on a trip to Bath, hotel was very pleasant. Although food was very tasty not a huge choice but we are in a less busy time of year. Breakfast was lovely and again the quality was very good and extremely tasty. I would recommend the hotel to others as good value for money and very helpful staff.

    « Not quite fawlty »

I don't know about the rooms but the food was like school dinners and although staff were friendly, glimpsing waiters playing football in the disco between courses wasn't very professional. Looks like a lovely old building but look closer and see its rather dilapidated and in dire need of some renovation

« Comfortable and large restaurant portions! »

Checked in for one night and room comfortable and nice touches with the tea and coffee and biscuits. Good bathroom and nice big double shower. Room could have been warmer as very cold outside but radiator appeared not to be working even though requested eating to be increased. Small bar area with plenty of seating in and nearby and pleasant restaurant where dinner and breakfast are taken. Good dinner menu and well prices. Portions for dinner large so good for hungry people and of a good quality. Good choice for breakfast also. Plenty of parking and nice overall feel to the place. Looking forward to going back.

    « Why not? »

No reason at all. Lovely building which is quirky but well finished and maintained. Good staff, lovely comfortable room, peaceful, good food. Better than Premier Bed Factory by a Country Mile! Need I say more?

    « Boyfriend's Birthday »

I took my partner away for the weekend and we stayed in this hotel which was absolutely beautiful, the receptionist was very helpful and kind, the room was beautiful with a stunning view, we would definitely stay here again!!

    « Wedding - September 2015 »

We got married at Leigh Park in September 2015. Rebecca and her team were brilliant and she was very professional and helpful. We had a fantastic day and had so many compliments on the venue. The staff were fantastic and the food was great. Everything exceeded our expectations. We would also like to say a big thank you to the bar staff as they were very friendly and efficient. We would recommend Leigh Park as a wedding venue and hotel to anyone. Thank you for helping to make our day so special!

    « Wonderful Christmas Stay »

We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas. This was our second visit, having spent Christmas Night here last year. Staff are all really friendly and down to earth, which is nice and means it doesn't feel like a "stuffy" old place. The main building is old so don't expect a lift but staff always help with bags etc. We had rooms 34 & 36 both lovely rooms with 36 being a little more spacious. The beds were both Kings and were very comfortable. Both rooms had flat screen TVs with good selection of channels. Room 36 had just been redecorated, which was an improvement giving a slightly more modern finish without losing the character of the venue. Food is very good. Breakfast is a buffet which has scrambled eggs, but they will make any egg you require if you just ask. I would give breakfast an 8/10 - losing two points for no black pudding and only having orange or apple juice (my own preference is cranberry) but this is just me being picky really! All meals we had were really good, Christmas Day was a 7 course menu (you can book this even if you don't want to stay) and was again a brilliant meal. The beef was fantastic with the mushrooms. And mum enjoyed the turkey. Boxing Day evening meal was another great meal - with the rack of lamb a real treat! There was a coach party staying at the same time, having visited other venues were coach parties have been we were a little apprehensive as they have a tendency to take over. This was managed well here, an example of this was with Boxing Day canapés - we were given our own selection (in one hotel, the coach party commandeered all the canapés stopping anyone else having any), they did kinda take over the seating area near the bar with their own quizzes but this didn't really bother us. We enjoyed our stay so much we have already put our names down for next year, but for an extra night! A big thank you to Pam, Chris and all of the rest of the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

    « Room quality »

Appearance and recepotion were excellent, restauraunyt was very good, staff were excellent however, the only issue I had was the water pressure in my room was very low and it affected my shower and sink usage.

    « Nice Little Break »

Just returned from a two-night B & B break at the Leigh Park, basically to visit Bath. The hotel is in a quiet spot about a 20 minute walk outside Bradford-On-Avon. (There is a local bus, the 265, which helps coming back up the hill!). Everything went well, receptionists and bar staff friendly, plenty of parking space. Food wise we didn't want to lash out on full restaurant meals in the evenings, so we ordered from the Bar Snacks menu, which was a pleasant surprise, excellent helpings! Full breakfasts were fine. Our room was in the Coach House annexe, very spacious, warm and comfortable, quiet at night. We found BOA a very attractive little town - illuminations excellent! One tip - don't try and drive in and out of Bath, especially during rush hour! We did this on the first day, and it was disastrous. We found the local train the best option, and the bus takes about 35 minutes for the same journey. We booked through, which was very user-friendly, no problems at all. As you can imagine, the central Bath hotels are very expensive, and well booked at the moment. OK, it's a minor inconvenience going backwards and forwards from BOA, but we enjoyed a pleasant stroll along the river there, and there are some interesting old buildings and a Saxon church. No shortage of lunch stops - we used the Teapot, which was fine. Whilst in Bath we took the City Sightseeing Bus Tour, which was excellent. Good value if you take both routes 24 hours apart. All in all, highly recommended, and we would definitely return to Leigh Park. We took the Best Western loyalty card, which could prove useful in the future.

« Like the curate's egg, good in parts. »

Leigh Park Hotel is a fine sandstone building in it's own grounds, commanding good views over the vale of Avon. Set back from the road there is little traffic noise and car parking is conveniently close. The staff at reception, bar and restaurant were friendly, polite and immaculately turned out. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The bar and public areas were intimate but not extensive. They were just fine for our stay, but I wondered if they might be crowded out if the hotel was busy. Our room, number 33, was palatial, with a large ante-room as well as an en-suite bathroom. It had lovely views and was spotlessly clean. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. The shower was hot and the towels were soft. The room was clearly equipped to a Best Western price point, perfectly adequate. In my judgment the accessories were certainly better than the well known budget chains, but not quite as classy as, say, a Holiday Inn. We were disappointed with our evening meal. Service was excellent, and prompt. However the rib-eye steak was very ordinary: not a very good piece of meat. The grilled liver was OK but not inspiring. I think the restaurant manager needs to have a word with his butcher. The pre-prepared sweets again were OK but unmemorable. The meal was not cheap, so we were rather disappointed. We decided not to breakfast in the hotel as a result. On the other hand the hotel is closely associated with a vineyard on the same estate. The wine list was interesting and we wished our stay had been longer so we could have explored it further. Overall, yes I would stay there again, the staff were excellent, and the building was fine, but I probably would be careful about my dining arrangements

« Nice hotel but rooms need updating »

The hotel itself is a lovely building, the receptionist was friendly and helpful but we were disappointed with the room. It was a small double and had basic amenities but was too warm even for December. The shower had very little pressure and the bathroom smelled of mould, which was evident on the ceiling and up the walls by the window. The worst thing however was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on in which we could feel every spring. It was mentioned to the receptionist so hopefully the management will listen.

    « Bath Stone Country »

A very nice hotel on the edge of Bradford on Avon. Excellent rooms over looking the large gardens surrounding this excellent Best Western hotel. Only really bad point was not enough water pressure for the shower otherwise very good.

    « Our wedding »

We had our wedding at Leigh Park Hotel 3 weeks ago and it was perfect from beginning to end. We had a large number of guests in the day and evening and the food and organisation was wonderful and professional. It all went so smoothly and couldn't ask for anything more. Hotel staff and our wedding planner Rebecca were all lovely and helpful. Would recommend to anyone for a wedding venue. MR & MRS BUTLER

« Great location for a black tie event »

Our family of 6 enjoyed a black tie event in the function room at Leigh Park Hotel. We had a warm welcome from the staff and everything was well set out including the reception room, the bar area, dance floor and the dining room. Service at dinner time was swift and the food tasty and well presented. I can recommend the hotel for an event, be it a black tie, party or wedding.

« Flat pillows and instant coffee in morning cafetiere »

Using ye ol British business model "doors are open with limited competition" this seems to work for many UK businesses. You pay to stay, just don't expect a smile..... Best western is always Clean comfortable but it angers me when customer service personnel chat amongst themselves and never ask if your stay was pleasant. So I brought up the instant sweet coffee in a french cafetiere..... The woman at the check out shrugged her shoulders and said, "it comes out of a machine, I don't know what coffee they use.... It's coffee isn't it and it wakes you up". If you need a place to stay it's in a nice location but don't hold your breath for a pinch of customer service. As far as the flat pillows, I was in no mood to take this person on head to head first thing in the morning. I Wouldn't stop here again out of principle.

    « Great value »

I am all about what you get for your money. I don't mind expensive if I get a "wow", and I don't mind mediocre if the price is right. So the reason I gave this place a 4/5 rating is not because it's a four-star hotel, but rather because for 104 pounds a night including breakfast and free wifi everywhere, I don't think you're going to do much better. The grounds and building are truly lovely, but things start to go downhill a bit once you start looking closely at the interior furnishings. Our room was run down: the door rattled, the carpet was stained, and the bedding and curtains were actually embarrassingly shabby. However, the breakfast was good, the staff were friendly, and we enjoyed a few nightcaps in the charming bar with the charming bartenders. With some refreshment, updating, and interior TLC, this could be a fabulous place to stay. As it is, we felt like we paid the right price for, what we got.

« Just spent a fantastic weekend at Leigh Park Hotel at a wedding would highly recommend A*********** »

My family and I have enjoyed the hotels hospitality this weekend at our neices wedding so we had 2 nights and 3 rooms we took our 93 year old mother with us and the staff couldnt have been more helpful nothing seemed too much trouble for them . we had a first class evening meal onthe friday night in the resturant with some eating off the bar menu and some on the full one and the standard of food was excellent without exception. they could even do small portions of any of the dishes if thats what you needed. We all went to the church for the wedding on the saturday and then came back to the wedding meal which was soooooo well organised and seamless. the room was laid out beautifully and in opened out in the evening to a separate bar area and dance floor , much food and family ,friends , wine , speeches and fireworks and the evening and staff were fantastic . a special mention must go to LISA who was an exceptional host nothing was too much trouble and she helped the smooth running of the wedding and guests . Our rooms at the hotel were lovely and comfortable with an excellent showeroom onsuite and plenty of hot water . the bed were so comfortatable I cant really remember going off to sleep as we all slept so well ..And the breakfast was plentiful and tasty with a great hot and cold selection. Very satisfied customers . we all would highly recommend this friendly relaxing hotel to everyone. Thankyou all for making our short break soooooo memorable A*******

« Great location for exploring the surrounding area »

Lovely warm welcome from reception on arrival, all staff very professional and polite. We had rooms in the Coach House which is a lovely conversion from the original building. It has a very noisy staircase - but I suspect that will have been fixed by now. Rooms comfortable with good wifi and a decent TV. there is a kettle to make a hot drink and plenty of storage space. Breakfast was great - self service for full cooked or other things on demand. I didn't realise this was an option until one of my friends came back with fried eggs and said he'd seen other things cooked to order - so one to note if you visit. We had drinks in the bar which was very nice and reasonably priced. Snack menu looks like it has something on there for everybody - the evening meal menu was also reasonable - though we didn't eat in the evenings. On the whole - nice place with beautiful grounds and a nice quiet location. Easy walk down in to the town - or a £6 taxi fair to the railway station. We'd visit again so it comes recommended from us.

    « I liked just the location... »

Good service, and quiet place ......... But no pressure in the bath to take a shower (first floor), and I couldn't seal the bathtub, the stopper was broken. The restaurant was expensive. I liked just the location.

« Great Hotel for exploring Bath and Longleat »

Visited 30th October for a weekend break to Bath and Longleat. The hotel is a mixture of old and new ( the coach house) and the old theme runs throughout the main hotel. There is a quirky mens toilet on the spiral staircase with a concave entrance door - i said the olde - the bar is small, cosy and serves a variety of drinks. The menu in the restaurant is limited but the food offered is well cooked and presented - the house red wine compliments the meat dishes beautifully. Be sure to ask at breakfast if you wish to have fried eggs as they are not routinely on the hot counter, the mix of hot and cold served breakfast items are good. The staff are pleasant, accommodating and understanding if you have any issues - there are also new staff members learning their roles ( restaurant ) and they are attentive, be patient with them, we all have to learn. The rooms are clean, tidy and well appointed. The hotel is easily, about 15mins, within reach of Bath and Longleat and offer good value for money - Would i return? Yes definately.

« Hotel location and room satisfaction »

During a review of the hotel and room I found it to be very clean, efficient and comfortable and my only comment was the water pressure in the bath was weak. The staff were polite and helpful and I would stay there again

« Wedding, not ours thankfully. »

Hotel on first arrival is very nice. Food was ok and certain staff were very good at there job, but some didn't have a clue how to serve a drink at the bar. The room we stayed in (No: 39) was clean but smelled of paint to the point that we had to sleep with all the windows open. When we ran the tap in the bathroom it smelled of rotten eggs. The security chain on the door wasn't connected to the door frame, when I took the chain to reception the answer was " I will make a note of this" as I lay in bed writing this the constant humming from something is ensuring I won't get the nights sleep I was expecting. Not sure how good we will feel for the wedding tomorrow morning. In all quite a poor hotel, I understand it is old, but not good for the price. One good thing is the free wi-fi. This morning I complained about the noise and asked for a new room and was told the manager would contact me regarding this matter. 14 hrs later and no one has attempted any sort of contact. I will again complain to reception on check out tomorrow morning as the constant humming is still happening. After further investigation I think I have found the source! The water pumps are sitting in a cupboard directly on the floor. I think these should be on a rubber matting or anti vibration mounts. (I may be wrong) In all a very poor hotel and customer service is very poor. Will not stay again and puts me off using Best Western brand.

    « Wedding Anniversary trip »

Very comfortable stay, also booked dinner, good choice of courses. Lovely area plenty to see, loved Lacock very old village. Staff friendly and helpful, Walkable to Village of Bradford on Avon and Close to Bath

« Great Place to base a visit to Bath from »

A welcoming, relatively small hotel with beautiful grounds and we had an excellent large room. Used as base to visit Bath but spent two evenings in Bradford upon Avon village with its so many great eating and drinking places. A really pretty place but a short drive from Hotel.

« No Customer Service ... do not accept room 43! »

Wow! In all the hotels I have ever stayed in I have never had staff of a hotel treat a situation where one of their guests with less interest, help or sympathy. I'm currently in room 43 and the bolier for the whole hotel is right behind the headboard. It is ridiculously noisy and having got in to bed the bolier has come on and drowned out my TV. I called Reception, having mentioned it earlier, to be told "there is nothing I can do and it will be on to 11pm but it will go off then and be back on at 6am". The solution to this situation then I was basically given was to stay awake till then and awake at 6am! No real apology, no "I'm sorry, we would try and move you but the hotel is full", nothing. I would not stay here ever again.

    « Anniversary meal »

Last minute booking, great service, super menu, lovely presentation, spotless white table cloths, friendly and professional, regularly returning . We've been for family events and works meals in dedicated room, always reliable for a special treat

« Fabulous Facade...then the rest of it »

I regularly use hotels for business and stay in a variety from budget to executive standard. I arrived at Leigh Park a good few weeks ago and thought the Façade was lovely - a great first impression, however this impression didn't last. Yes, the staff were friendly, however this was at their convenience when they were not pre occupied having their personal conversations not relating to work. I checked into a room which once upon a time would have been lovely - sadly the room just looked tired, run down and was a bit tatty. The level of cleanliness in the bathroom was also not great. Yes I did voice this opinion to staff. Evening meal was alright in term of taste, however as many others have said, the temperature was far too low and did spoil the meal. This has been mentioned a few times by others whom have posted reviews and the manager has stated on each occasion that meals are freshly cooked to order - so does this mean the food sits around for a while before arriving at the table? Because it certainly did not have a freshly cooked temperature. I also voiced this opinion. In the evening, like many I am partial to a small tipple. The service at this point reminded me of the film 'Carry on Abroad'. There appeared to be one member of staff working the reception, the bar, the restaurant...I waited and waited to be served for a drink. (Yes I did ring the bell). When someone turned up, I did state I'd been waiting a long while. On a positive note, I had a good night sleep. (However you expect this and usually get that at any budget hotel also). Sadly, the breakfast disappointed again. Not hot as per evening meal. Again, this has been raised by various guests and despite the manager commenting on trip advisor that breakfast if cooked freshly depending on demand, the problem persists. Check out was easy and on departure, I raised my concern with regard to the not so hot breakfast. This hotel has huge potential. The outside areas are well kept and the building façade is spectacular. I do however feel that unless improvements are made, you may as well check into any other hotel. The manager appears to be very defensive with responses on trip advisor band often takes credit for the superb Georgian façade of the building. Rather than taking credit for the exterior build which has been there long before any of our time, I think it would be wise for the management to focus on the negative comments at the hotel and improve on not only the interior, but also the operation. The hotel could be amazing!! I hope it will be one day.

« Good service, food average »

Dined in their restaurant with family on a rather busy night. Staff were lovely and helpful, although rather rushed off their feet. Food was average, not very exciting and some main courses only lukewarm. Can't comment on their rooms.

    « OK visit »

It was okay. The food was nice but the atsomphere was reuined as i felt uncomfratble as i could tell the staff felt it too. The manager ,or person in charge, seemed to be rude to our waiter and it made us feel awkward. They were doing a fine job, they may have been new but everyone starts somwhere and you could tell they were trying their best. Overall it was okay but i wouldn't go here again. However the food was well priced and tasty,

« BW Leigh Park Hotel »

Pot luck with rooms - some good, some not so good. Restaurant and breakfast is fine, but Bar and Bar Menu could be better. Girls at reception very helpful, Service Staff good to above average. Good value for money overall.

    « It's almost good........ »

First impressions looked very promising - elegant Georgian façade nicely kept grounds, straightforward check in.........yet there was something missing. We were in a modern annexe called the Vendange on the first floor overlooking a car park. The room and shower room seemed clean and adequate for our stay of three nights, but as our stay progressed little things started to niggle. Of the 2 chairs in our room, one was so small it would have been better suited to a child (I am not a large person, but got cramped in it); several hangers were missing in the wardrobe cupboard, but the rings were there; and in the shower room the only space for toiletries was above the toilet with no space to even put a toothbrush by the basin which was several feet away(a small glass shelf would solve this). We had dinner on one night and the breakfasts were okay, but marred by what appeared to be cheap sliced bread for the toast. However, several staff generally gave the impression that they were only doing the job until something better turned up which was a shame as staff are the face of the hotel. In particular this was the case with reception staff - there did appear to be a lack of professionalism or maybe it was simply a lack of training - it was small things - as a guest I do not like being addressed as 'love' or 'darling' - on another occasion we handed in our key when going out for the evening to find it was still on the counter when we returned several hours later, which I consider to be a security issue even though the desk was staffed. The hotel does have a lot of potential - as I said in my title - it's almost good and is in an excellent location, being just outside of the town.,

« Lovely building but room for improvements »

We stayed at the Leigh Park Hotel as part of a wider group that attended a local wedding (at another venue). The hotel is an attractive building, set in lovely grounds and with good size rooms - we stayed in the main house. Unfortunately, the hotel is let down by a number of factors: shower did not work, some of party were told there was no breakfast left despite arriving in time, staff appeared to lack management and tended to shrug shoulders rather than try and resolve issues. On their own, these issues were minor but they left you with the impression that the hotel didn't really value your custom. This is a shame as the hotel is a lovely building and could be a lovely place to spend a weekend with a little more thought and care.

    « A real gem. »

Spent 3 glorious days at this beautifully located hotel. We stayed in the Coach House annexe - our room was quiet, clean, spacious, and furnished to a high standard. The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout. Special thanks to Lisa for looking after us so well, and also to Courtney for her warm welcome on the first day.

    « Marvellous Spot for a Reunion »

The British Friends of Vanuatu had their Autumn week-end from 25-27 September. We all met on the Friday and were able to have a nice supper sitting with any of our fellow travellers. On the Saturday we had a coach tour of the area, stopping for a coffee break at the Chew Valley Lake Cafe ending up in Bath. Everyone then wandered round Bath and returned to the coach at 4 p.m. to return to our Hotel. That evening we all ate together in a long table and continued our chatting until the early hours. after a full English Breakfast we all departed, or most did, visiting nearby National Trust properties.
