Though even been to Winter Park many times, this was our first time to stay at this hotel. The hotel was very clean, the roons were very bright, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located so we could walk anywhere within the Town of Winter Park (not to be confused with the Winter Park Village). The breakfast items offered were similar to other BW's.. multiple juices, hot chocolate, and fresh fruit with hot entree choices. We would stay here again!
Housekeeping this morning was absolutely loud and obnoxious. My little had a rough not and was not feeling well in the middle of the night. We were sleeping in an at 8am. The housekeeping started knocking on peoples doors, singing speaking so loud. That I got up and I put the privacy on my door to ensure that they did not knock on my door and wake up my child. I understand that check out is that day and you're trying to get people to hurry up and check out, but that was a little absurd today. I feel bad for whoever they walked in when they walked in. They had to say sorry cause I heard that happened to. But the Front Desk staff is Awesome! The breakfast is ok and location is perfect.
The breakfast selections were diverse and plentiful as well. Being in a ski town having a solid breakfast was important to me and they delivered. Food and beverage options were excellent. The front desk staff was also very attentive to my concern of a quite noisy guest(no reflection on the hotel service however and empathetic. For the future please take into consideration adjoining rooms when guests are with children as the noise from other rooms is not otherwise suppressed. I was greeted right away and served as an elite member with refreshments and a smile with a thank you for choosing us.
2.5 rating to be accurate. Rooms are worn and need fixing or refreshing. Breakfast is above average for a 'free' breakfast. Main reason we say here is the breakfast and proximity to the mountain buses and restaurants. Overall... At current pricing there are many other options in the area we will consider next time. This stay between $320-$340/night (depending on the day) so about the same as a local 1 or 2 bd condo (without free bfast). Last year price was $250/night (plus the room had no issues and was far less worn). Issues this stay... Bathroom walls swollen around shower surround where drywall is greatly swollen and open. Shower head needed replacing or cleaning or gaskets replaced as it has a very high-pitched whistle / squeal. Hot tub is not 'hot'; needs to be 104, not 100-101
Someone on staff stole my AirPods. Management was responsive but no employee would own up. It would be wise to Watch belongings. Otherwise, hotel was as expected with clean rooms, nice location and friendly front desk people.
Great rooms, cozy beds free delicious breakfast with a great variety. 24 hr cafe/tea bar, Wi-Fi, hot tub close to bus stop to resort. Too many shops, restaurants and bars to choose from within walking distance (Idlewild distillery & eatery downstairs). Caring staff best hotel in WP can't miss it.
The Best Western Alpenglo Lodge has a nice atmosphere. The lobby is clean well-appointed with 24 hour coffee and tea available. My room was clean and quiet with plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
We were allowed to check in early. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a good-sized room with two comfortable chairs and a mini-fridge (no freezer), which was in the wardrobe cabinet. So there wasn't much room for hanging clothes. The walls were thin. The small bathroom was well lit, with little counter space. It fogged up despite the fan. The shower head was good. We had an ok breakfast with processed hot items. We had a good dinner at Randi's Grill & Pub at a reasonable price.
This was the best experience we have had at any hotel. Totally A++ Outstanding on every level. Clean, great beds, great staff. Can't say enough good things about this hotel! We will definitely be back!
“Tyree” at check-in was attentive, friendly, and helpful, as was the check-out lady though I do not know her name. We were to have a deluxe room with a mountain view. We did see the mountains, but a tree made it difficult and in front of the mountains were businesses—not a pleasant sight and certainly not worth paying for. Not a deluxe room in any respect. The double queen was too tight to be comfortable. Outside the building is no overhang for unloading during either rain or snow. Managing the entry building doors was cumbersome and difficult passing through, especially with a luggage cart. The breakfast area was open and welcoming. The breakfast was good.
From the friendly front desk staff, the local art in the rooms to the extreme cleanliness of the rooms, this hotel was an excellent choice! There are plenty of walking trails to explore in the morning and you can easily walk to plenty of restaurants. This will be our go to hotel in Winter Park for sure!
My husband and I had the most pleasant stay at the Alpenglo Lodge. They had me at 6 pillows lined up at perfect angles on the bed when I walked in! The bed was also extremely comfy and cozy. I appreciated the 24 hour hot chocolate which we took to the outdoor concert up the street. It was other little things like having a vending machine with many options and the wide variety of breakfast items available. The manager Nancy Price is really interested in taking care of her guests. I was amazed at how responsive she was via text to accommodate our special needs. I can't recommend the Best Western Alpenglo Lodge enough!
The hotel and room were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. It was an average size room with both a refrigerator and microwave. This was the first time we have ever stayed at a Best Western and it was a positive experience.
After having a bad experience with an AirB&B and canceling that reservation we had to scramble to find a place. We were tired. We checked down the street at a Holiday Inn Express and they wanted $500 a night to stay there so we weren't going to do that. We considered finding another AirB&B or VRBO but were afraid after our experience earlier was a failure. We decided to try the Best Western and it was heavenly for weary travelers! Our room was clean and cool. The bathroom was a little smaller than what we are used to but the bed was comfortable! Breakfast was pretty good with several options. The front desk staff were very friendly. I would stay there again.
My wife and I stayed two nights here when we went to visit the Rockies. We were advised to stay on the west side as it is not as busy. The moment we got out of our car, Tyree appeared to help us with our luggage, and he was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was fine - nice and quiet. The breakfast options are great, with fresh options each day and lots of toppings, etc. They also have fruit and granola bars (and coffee and tea) available all day or to take along for the day. Winter Park is a cute tourist town, so there is nightlife all around if that's your thing.
Very comfortable rooms, nice complementary hot breakfast, friendly staff and great location! Walking distance to restaurants, trail heads, bike shops, ice cream shop, bakeries and sandwich shops and Rendezvous Park. Would stay here again!
I have stayed at the Alpenglow Best Western twice in the last few months and would stay there again. The first time I was alone and the 2nd time with my Mom, Aunt and Cousin. The accommodations are very clean, comfortable and well maintained. We choose rooms with a Mountain view which we really enjoyed. The staff is very friendly and accommodating overall. Debbie was very helpful in shifting us to a different room that better suited my elderly Mon and Aunt. All of us were very happy with our stay and the breakfast was quite good.
While this could be a Best Western anyehere in the world (there was nothing really mountain-y or local), it was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Service was great and breakfast was very good - changing a bit each day. Value for money was very good for this location
From the moment my Wife and I checked in, we felt comfortable staying here. Misty at the front desk have expectable Customer Service. She was always there with a smile on her face and welcomed us back each evening that she worked.
Stayed at the Best Western Alpenglo for a few nights with friends and families for a family event. Great location with great management and staff who made my stay and that of my extended families memorable. Would highly recommend this hotel
Hotel has everything you need such as a hot breakfast, vending, free WiFi, hot tub, great service and clean rooms. I love the location of the hotel, right in the middle of WP town with shuttle stops, shopping dining and more within walking distance of the property.
The staff was very helpful. I received rewards which discounted my stay in the situation of being snowed in the town unexpectedly. Many thanks to night desk attendant. In addition, I had to work administratively and the day attendant let me complete my work after checking out of the room. Many thanks to the staff at Best Western.
This hotel is great! Perfect location to walk everywhere, friendly staff, clean rooms, delicious breakfast! I would highly recommend! The staff was always helpful and professional. The breakfast area was clean, well stocked and the items were fresh! The corridors and lobby area were clean!
Font desk staff & all hotel staff were super friendly, helpful, top notch service! The hotel was so clean you could eat off the floors. Good location, nice clean furnishings. Sadly, the walls are paper thin; we heard guests & staff all night. Construction trucks & crews very noisy (we like windows open). We had to leave after one night b/c both murphy beds mattresses were shot, had no support, worn out & need to be replaced.
Upon arriving late at night after a difficult trip from Denver Airport, we were greeted by a wonderful staff. Rachel & Karin greeted us as if we were family and made us feel at home right away. Each morning, Kristen & Carol kept the breakfast bar filled, never letting any food containers sit empty. Jeramy in maintenance attended to some minor room issues immediately, arriving with a smile each time. General manager Nancy Price is a gem - she appeared each morning with a smile, and made sure we were happy with our accommodations. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the room was quiet. The shower and air conditioning worked well.
The Alpenglo Lodge is the loveliest lodging I visit three times each year. The rooms are well-appointed, clean, and it is quiet there, even when completely booked. The staff is congenial with the guests and really work as a team helping each of us.
This was a last minute reservation. Rachel, the front desk staff member was amazing. Though late at night she was quite busy and still maintained a smile. Unfortunately our room was not clean, sheets were put on inside out. To be honest we slept wrapped in our blankets from home. The AC didnt work properly. Parking lot was sketchy, worried about the safety of our vehicle. We were at the hotel for less than 8hrs and couldnt wait to leave. Disappointed for the cost of $180 as a reward member for such a unkept room.
Stayed at this property on our way down from Rocky Mountain NP on July 19/Tuesday. It was a quick 1 night stay, but was impressed with the front staff. The hotel was short staffed that day with multiple staff calling in, but the front desk staff was courteous, hard-working and professional. After checking in during the late afternoon, we saw the front desk staff going up and down the floors delivering roll away beds, over sized trash left by our 3rd floor elevator trash can was gone 5 minutes later, making sure the property was organized. She had just returned from couple days off and was working hard to keep things in working order. As a guest, we appreciate the staff to care for the hotel and the guests with the card and dedication.
This hotel is in a great location in Winter Park. Close walking distance to restaurants and shopping, community park and hike/walk trail. Accommodations are adequate, typical. Hot tub is not very inviting, needs updating. Breakfast was good, but get there EARLY, food is gone fast.
This particular Best Western was central to a lot of walkable shops, eateries, and other places. The motel was clean, friendly and the staff was helpful. Very busy front desk, so a bit of patience is required. Kristen was great at the Front Desk
The hotel and its staff made our stay in Winter Park very enjoyable. Carol and Rachel went above and beyond during our stay to accomodate us. They were super helpful in every way. We would definitely stay there again. There was also a laundromat a two minute walk away that was clean and had the most amazing view. The laundromat being so close was a plus when staying multiple days with a family of four.
Winter Park has a population of around and about 3000 housing units. If you like airbnb or vrbo, you will have lots of choices. But, often I find these short-term rentals to be problematic with no one close by to resolve problems. The Best Western Alpenglo is clean, efficient, and has a tremendously friendly and helpful staff. The location is central, so it is an easy walk to things of interest in Winter Park. I have stayed there multiple times over the past 20+ years and look forward to returning.
Our visit was extremely good. The staff was exemplary. They were able to accommodate our need for an early check-in, which was greatly appreciated. The room was just right, as requested. We would certainly return to this location, as well as other Best Western hotels.
Room was clean and comfortable, staff friendly, facility looks to be in good shape. Pricey, but that's to be expected in a resort town. The only real drawback was parking. We were pulling a 20' trailer and there was literally no place we could park. The main lot was closed for refurbishing, but even if it were open, it's pretty small, and the overflow lot is such that larger vehicles or trailers will be very challenging to get in and out, so if you're traveling with a trailer, very large RV, semi, etc, this may not be your best choice. Otherwise though, without a trailer, I'd sure stay here again.
Room was clean and comfortable but cleaning crew were new and did not know what a face or hand towel was. Breakfast was good. All in all a good place yo stay in Winter Park not far from the ski slopes. Also enjoyed snowmobiling and snowshoe hiking!
Nice room, great staff! Nancy Price the manager was great to work with. My husband asked for a room on the first floor and she was glad to accommodate. I got home and had an email from Nancy that I had left my toiletry kit in the room, I was so upset. I called and she was so nice and she is going to ship it to my home. Excellent customer service! We will definitely stay at the Best Western Alpenglow when we are in Winter Park again.
Wardrobe door wouldn't stay closed(no closet in room). There was water standing in the tub and sink when we arrived. Did not like that the hot tub required going outside in the cold to a different building. Could hear footsteps and doors opening/closing from other rooms, waking us up. Loud heating system, whose on and off blower woke us up.Hot breakfast had OK sausage and potatoes, poor "scrambled" eggs, bad watered down coffee and hot chocolate , and bad prepackaged pastry. The door to our room had a broken lock. Liked that there was an extra shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. Bed was comfotable. Nice guy at the front desk. A low average room quality overall. For the price, I expected more.
This was a nice hotel, breakfast was great. It is a little pricey for what we have paid for other hotels on our monthlong road trip but it was due to the location- a beautiful ski town in the Rocky Mountains.
The Best Western Alpenglow was family and budget friendly for our spring break ski trip. It's a short drive from Winter Park resort, a one block walk to Hideaway Park sledding hill, and a block or two to nearby restaurants. At our check-in, the clerk made a mistake with our card, and after several minutes of trying to get us to use a different card, needed help from another clerk to fix his mistake. Other than this, the front desk staff during our stay was responsive and nice. We didn't use room cleaning by housekeeping, but they provided fresh towels and soap when we needed them. The lobby and rooms are adequate for a budget lodge, but not luxurious or deluxe as described online. There was a ceiling leak in the lobby with a bucket for a few days. Beds and pillows were clean. Unfortunately, the mattresses were not supportive and the rooms were small. The microwave and mini fridge worked fine. Breakfast was included and convenient, and it was nice to be able to enjoy a hot cup of tea or cocoa in the evenings. Overall, this hotel was suitable for our needs. With rooms going at a premium on spring break, we were glad to have found a place to stay.
I base my stars on the price paid, location, etc. I felt we had a terrific hotel for the price we paid, and had an all around great experience. While housekeeping didn't even entertain that idea of checking us in to a room a couple hours early, the manager did. I understand, but if a room is ready............. anyway, I cannot remember the manager's name, but she was SO sweet and accommodating. I am going to touch on something that I did not find information on before our trip, and that is the included breakfast. It really was a GREAT breakfast for no additional cost. First of all, terrific hot chocolate, coffee and tea available all day. In the morning, they always had waffle station, bread & pastries, yogurts, granola bars, and fruits & juices. Then, they had additional items such as eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy. So, plenty to eat. We enjoyed the access to the ski resort, just walked across the street to the station to catch a bus. Walking distance to multiple restaurants. Clean room with fridge and microwave. We would stay here again for sure!
I would definitely be staying here again. Hot tub is nice and staff is very helpful. Only bad thing is no kids pool. So if you have little kids like me that want to swim you'll have to find somewhere to swim. But over all great hote comfortable beds. EVEN HAVE ROLL AWAY BEDS!
This Best Western is close to Winter Park & has a bus stop across the street. Are checkin was delayed by 30mins however the front desk clerk took the extra step to call us & let us know when it was ready. The bed was not comfortable but room was clean. We were disappointed with the hot tub temperature setting. I never thought I would complain about a hot tub being to hot. We like ours to be anywhere from 101-103. This hot tub was set so high you could not stay in for more than a few mins at a time. Not sure if it was intentional to keep guests from staying too long. If so it worked. Management might want to rethink their strategy as it was dangerous high.
Excellent. Great location to town attractions. Breakfast got me off on the right track before going skiing. The room was huge and the bathroom had more amenities than I was expecting. The staff was very courteous, efficient, and happy.
I can't say how grateful we are that we stayed at BW Alpenglo when we went to Winterpark. They had the best cocoa in town and the friendliest staff. We will definitely return to this hotel next year. The hot tub was always hot. The front desk and room cleaners were always going the extra mile to keep all of the guests happy. They also had good food and entertainment recommendations as well.
This is a great hotel for the budget minded! Central location, within short walking distance to shopping, restaurants, and a great park! The breakfast was fresh, and if you don't get full it's by your own choice. The remodeled decor is very nice! Bed was a tad bit soft for me, but that's me. First time I've actually loved a hotel shampoo. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
This best Western was awesome! Clean rooms, soft beds and the pillows...perfectly soft but firm at the same time. The cleanliness was on point. The complimentary hot breakfast was a perfect start to the day! Waffles, Eggs. Bacon, sausage, GREEN CHILI and burrito fixing! Next time we are in town this will for sure be our place to stay!
Terrbile plumbing in bathroom. They dont drain. Was told biscuits and gravy for breakfast but that didnt happen. The staff are friendly when they are at the desk. Seems like they stay in the back a lot more than helping guests.
Though not a big fan of BW, this stay was worth the trip. The front desk was friendly and informative of the town. Rooms were clean with every thing in working order, loved being able to open the window and enjoy the mountain air. Glad we picked this location.
Absolutely excellent managers at this hotel in beautiful Colorado.! Thank you Kawanis Johnson for helping with a reservation I needed Help adjusting! This hotel came highly recommended- 5 star service!!! Really appreciated it! Great location too!
I was told "we'd work out the AAA discount when you arrive" I really don't know if this happened as it's not on my bill and I guess it's my fault that I didn't want to hang out in a lobby with roaming unmasked guests and employees and debate the issue. I didn't see any covid safety precautions other than a tiny piece of plexi at the front counter.
This Best Western Hotel was one of our best stays ever in any hotel we have stayed. We broke down going over the pass. The General manager Nancy went above and beyond to get us a room and to make our stay very pleasant and helped us to get the part to fix our pickup. A super awesome and friendly lady. The staff was super nice, rooms very nice and clean and a pretty good continental breakfast! We would recommend this hotel to anyone and if we get back up that way would for sure stay there again!
Nancy, the manager of the hotel, provided a group of 18 of us with 7 rooms at the last minute. We had been displaced from our Airbnb at 380 Moose Trail, a home provided by winterparkhouse.com. The unclean environment at the Airbnb, was a great disappointment, but the way were treated by Nancy the manager at this hotel was fantastic. She even offered us a late checkout the next day and was professional and efficient in getting all 18 of us in our rooms. Lesson learned here is sometimes smaller motels offer more than expensive Airbnb homes run by dishonest and unprofessional hosts. Thanks Best Western!!
From the time we checked in on late arrival to the time we checked out (2 night stay) we were nothing more than pleased all around. The Staff was kind and courteous and the breakfast was great! Nothing like a hot meal to start out the day, which was also wonderful because we got to explore the Winter Park Resort with a Day Pass to ride the Alpine Sleds and the Gondola. We give Alpenglo Lodge at Winter Park, CO TWO Thumbs Up and would recommend this BW to anyone!
We had a wonderful stay in Winter Park at this Best Western. The hotel in conveniently located on the main street so everything is walkable, yet quiet in the evenings. The staff was over the top friendly & went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Our beds were comfortable & the shower head was wonderful! Our rooms were very clean & newly remodeled. We paid more than normal for our stay due to a Jazz Festival in town but we would definitely stay here again!
Clean and nice. Room was small, old style motel room, but it was spotless and everything worked. beds were very comfortable. Checkin was pleasant, breakfast was the usual fare. All clean. Sat at outside tables both mornings. Coffee was very good. The sandwich shop next door is spectacular and we had one nice dinner at the distillery right outside our window.
Our first day in Colorado was met with one trouble after another; however, after being greeted by Kawanis at the Best Western and being treated to his first rate customer service, hospitality, courteous and efficient efforts we are sure he is personally responsible for the rainbow we just spotted after today's rain. Thank you!!!
Hotel was very clean. and staff very helpful, knowledgeable about area and sites to visit. Breakfast was great, kids enjoyed it. Parking for big truck was not the greatest but over all rooms and service was.
I had not stayed at a BW in a long time, I always thought they were run down… I was sure surprised!! This hotel was clean, beds were incredibly comfortable and the service was outstanding. The breakfast was good and the young lady serving was so friendly. We had a room with 2 queen beds; shower was a bit old but the hair dryer was the best I have ever used.
we stayed one night at this best western. we went and got ice last night and woke up this morning to everything on the desk sopping wet including a very expensive wallet, hat, and apple watch. luckily the hat and watch did not get ruined but the wallet i'm not so sure about yet. To anyone that stays here or anywhere be sure to check your ice buckets for cracks, wouldn't want anyone else's belongings to get ruined.
The hotel staff is extremely helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable. They provide a variety of options for breakfast, including a hot breakfast, fresh coffee, juice & bottled water. Internet worked great. This hotel is centrally located to shops, restaurants & recreation.
I stayed here for one night before snowmobiling in Fraser the next day. It's a decent basic motel-hotel that's good for a short 1-3 night stay, but not sure if I'd want to stay longer than that because we got really poor sleep. There was a loud noise outside that started around 3am and lasted until around 7am (it might have been snow making machines at the resort, or some other machine or big truck closer by). The walls are also really thin and the noisy housekeeping woke us up bright and early with all their yelling and banging stuff around in the hallways (I think our room was right next to their closet). There aren't many options for “recognizable” lodging in the area (no Hilton or Marriott branded hotels), and this seemed to be one of the nicer options from the appearance of the other places I saw. There's a Winter Park Mountain Lodge right across from the ski area if you're going there to ski (the reviews aren't great but from the outside looked fine), and there's a Holiday Inn Express in Fraser that was closer to the snowmobiling and tubing area that looked nice. The Best Western was located in between the two and had good reviews and was reasonably priced (especially for a ski town) so we stayed here. Our room was very clean and well kept. The furniture was clean, the bedsheets were clean, the counter spaces were clean and the bathroom was clean. The bathroom was small, no counterspace, small tub/shower (we didn't use it so can't speak to water pressure) but it had great lighting (real lightbulbs instead of those cheap yellow lights most hotels use). They also provided plenty of towels and washrags. The room itself had plenty of extra counter and table space to use for eating, working and storing stuff (there's an extra table on wheels underneath the counter in the main area). TV was a good size and got many cable channels. There's a microwave and mini fridge in the room. However the fridge is located inside the cabinet closet, so you can't actually hang any clothes in there. There is 24-hour tea and hot chocolate available in the lobby, plus free breakfast from 6:30am-9:30am (we didn't get to try it because we slept in due to the poor sleep we got). There's a really good BBQ place right across the street that I would highly recommend if you like BBQ. The heater in the room works great, though it was actually too hot to keep it on. We kept it off all night because we kept overheating, but had to turn it back on in the morning. It blows cold air for the first few minutes, but it goes back to full heat after that. It would be nice if there was an in-between temperature. Nancy at the front desk was exceptionally nice and has some of the best customer service skills I've ever encountered at a hotel. She was friendly, informative, respectful and made sure to acknowledge the people waiting in line because she was the only person there to help everyone. However, she did tell me that I was getting a $25 gift card for a future stay that I never received, though that's probably not her fault. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness and reasonable price. Winter Park/Fraser doesn't have some of the bigger, nicer hotels that you'll find in larger ski towns or in other touristy areas. The Best Western is considered more of a motel than a hotel, but for what it is, it's very well kept. Assuming our noise issues were not a regular occurrence, I would recommend the hotel if you're in the area.
All of the staff at this property were very welcoming and helpful and in a very genuine way. We have stayed at many properties and I am surprised at how the staff at this property stood out from others we have stayed at.
Wonderful mountain views. Microwave, a frig that worked and nicely sized, excellent coffee in room and in lobby, hot chocolate that was great, incredible tea selection, best Covid era hot breakfast. Hot hot tub. My impression is that this BW has very thoughtful management who go out of their way to provide a positive lodging experience. Like they thought of what they would want and went beyond that.
We were pleasantly surprised by the little gem of a hotel in Winter Park. The staff was exceptional, the location perfect and the grab n go and hot meal option was terrific. The only thing that would have made it better for my son would be a gym but he got a good workout on the mountain. I would definitely stay here again.
One of the only hotels during COVID that's that offered a hot breakfast that was cooked by a hotel employee. The room was perfect, great location and amazing customer service!! I would highly recommend this hotel
The place was clean, friendly with no problems or issues......except that the coffee in the room was not replenished daily. Overall it was easy and comfortable. We ignored the marijuana smell wafting down the hall and in the window......it is Colorado.........
Great place to call home when visiting Winter Park, they have every thing (WiFi, Hot-tub, free hot breakfast, 24 hr coffee, tea & hot cocoa, close to stores, nice rooms and more!). Carol the Operations Manager does a great job and gives excellent guest service every time, thank you for a great stay Best Western Alpenglo Lodge team.
This was the second time I stayed here. I actually like this property. It's pretty well situated near many great restaurants. And it's fairly affordable. My first time here the breakfast was garbage. Microwave burritos and sugar (Waffles, breakfast bars, muffins, danish muffins). But they improved it by adding eggs and bacon. I was impressed. They must have read my customer survey. There's a Lift line station right in front that you can take directly to the ski area. And i never really battled for parking... I will however dock BW one star for their beds. They are kinda stiff. Ans the pillows were tiny. I woke up with crazy back pains... I had to stretch like crazy to feel normal. But overall: the property is clean; the staff extremely courteous; and the rooms were cozy. I definitely recommend
The general, manager, Nancy Pruce was very cheerful and helpful. The staff was as well. I came up for a business meeting and I will definitely sat there again when I come back. I brought my dog and the staff was very friendly to her as well. ,
not planning on staying in WP for the night but ended up having a few beverages with friends and figured to play it safe and stay over. great location with a surprisingly low rate for such short notice. check in was easy. i wish i remembered the lady's name that checked us in, she was really nice. room was clean, bed was really comfortable. hot tub was open. all good.
Terrible customer service, we were told at the hotel that we would be able to receive a refund on our last night since we needed to leave early due to bad weather coming into Wyoming, which is where we were heading to. They said no problem just reach out to the booking agency and it would be taken care of. The booking agency reached out to the hotel and Best Western stated there was no "bad weather" in Winter Park therefore they would not approve the refund. We told them NUMEROUS times, we are aware of the weather in Winter Park (we were literally at their hotel) and we specifically told them we were worried about the snow in Wyoming. After reaching out to the Best Western customer service team they relayed the same information and the new management responded with a weather report for WINTER PARK. Not sure if its the new management or if both parties are illiterate and inconsiderate because as I mentioned before, we were not concerned with Winter Park's weather. Regardless of their inability to use common sense when problem solving, they should not have told us that we would be able to receive a refund if they planned on denying any request from the booking agency. Would not recommend staying here as it will be a complete nightmare if you have to deal with this "customer service team". Parking is also pretty limited at the hotel, room was way smaller than depicted and its a bit rundown there are other great options down the road that I wish we would have chosen! Also there were multiple people in the common area without a mask during our stay.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Alpenglo Lodge while staying in Winter Park CO for a family ski trip. The staff was exceptional - always helpful and willing to go above and beyond! They took extra precautions to keep everyone safe and provided a great grab and go breakfast option.
The hotel is dated but the location is great for skiing Winter Park and there were many restaurants around. Staffs are nice and helpful. Parking sometimes can be tough but it's doable. We stayed at the hotel over the Christmas holiday. We brought our dog with us. Due to Covid-19, there was NO house cleaning and after we checked out, we were charged extra $75 for deep cleaning fees on top of the pet fee of course! This is a major disappointment. During this same trip, we stayed at 2 other Best Western and another 5-star hotel. We never had any problems with this cleaning fee or complaints! They called us about the fee while we were on the road.
We spent three nights at the Best Western Alpenglo Lodge in Winter Park Colorado the first week of December, 2020. It is an older property and was all in all a reasonable visit. In this age of COVID, they had grab and go breakfasts and coffee. The location is in the center of Winter Park. The rooms were well appointed. However, in the middle of the night on the first night, a bug crawled across my arm. Being asleep, I instinctively flicked it away. A few minutes later, it was back on my neck. This time I grabbed it and crushed it between my thumb and finger. I wiped it off on the side of the bottom sheet. A photo is attached to this review. Was it a bed bug? Beats me, but I will not return to this property. Except for the bug it was a reasonable stay, but bugs are a big deal to me. This is the first in several thousand hotel nights.
Front desk staff was very friendly. Coffee, tea always available for 24 hours by the front desk. Rooms are very clean and were comfortable. Breakfast was in individual packets due to Covid 19. Breakfast burritos, granola bars, bottled water, fruit, and muffins were available.
This stay was very good. The check-in was efficient and friendly. The room was standard but filled with too much furniture so it made the room small for two people. There was no place to set our luggage on the luggage stand. The chair and footstool could have been smaller to give the room more space. The curved desk looked good but was not the best use of space. The "grab and go" menu was limited. The lodge is in a central location in Winter Park so we were able to walk around the town.
Front desk staff was very friendly. Coffee, hot chocolate, and juice were always available by the front desk. Rooms were not cleaned daily due to Covid 19, but anything we needed more of (towels, soap) could be picked up at the front desk. They even gave me a face mask when I forgot my own. Rooms appeared very clean and were comfortable. Breakfast was limited due to Covid 19. In addition to the drinks by the front desk, breakfast burritos, granola bars, bottled water, fruit, and muffins were available.
Hotel was not full on a usual very busy time of year. Walked into lobby and got a room. Required mask, cleaning procedures are in place. Felt comfortable staying here. The bed is very comfortable, the room was very clean. There are pups allowed and saw quite a few but did not hear any barking. Will come back for sure.
Hotel rooms had been recently renovated and was extremely nice. Close to attractions and downtown Glenwood Springs, great place to stay at an affordable price. Would highly recommend for both family or a business trip
The hotel is right off the main drag through town and very clean. We rented the accessible suite that has two murphy beds. Be advised that murphy beds are lower to the ground than regular beds, and the mattresses are softer as well. When you have both murphy beds plus the sleeper sofa open like we did, it does not leave much room to move around. The dining table is nice but with everything open for sleeping it is very crowded. The room itself is very clean and nicely appointed. I bet this location kicks butt in the winter :) COVID TIP: Breakfast was meh....they provided a small bottle of water, a fruit cup, an apple or banana, and a granola bar. The granola bar got crushed by the fruit, which just left a lot of fruit. I appreciate the effort but I suggest using that as a snack later in the day and go somewhere else for a good take out breakfast.
The room was ready an hour later than 3pm. The shower was Luke warm and never got any warmer. The sheets were almost worn out and had little fuse balls all over them. The sack breakfast was okay. We understand that a buffet could not be offered right now. We stay in hotels while traveling 30- 40 nights per year. I would not stay here again.
We took a last minute road trip and called for availablity after we arrived in Winter Park. Found the hotel very clean and staff consistant in their care and cleaning for our health and safety. I will definately go back to visit another time.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Restrictions due to COVID were very clearly established and explained. When I called back that evening of to check about an item that I thought I had left behind, the desk clerk graciously checked the not yet cleaned room to search for the item. He was apolgetic when he could not locate it. The location was convenient to restaurants and shopping.
The hotel was conveniently located to Winter Park. The price of the room would be fine, especially because it's location, if the rooms were what was advertised. The hotel claims the rooms are all updated, clean and have excellent amenities. The rooms are not updated, the carpet is torn and filthy and lights are burned out in the room. Also, they provide breakfast but not enough eggs for all. As far as the hot tub, it was set so high that a person couldn't stand to be in it as it immediately made your flesh bright red. I would definitely find a nice place to stay for the money.
Service was very attentive. Breakfast was perfect before a day on the slopes. Bus stops right out front for easy transport to and from the resort. Stayed with my family and we all enjoyed our stay. I would recommend.
We stayed for 2 nights while we skied Winter Park. Free Shuttle is just across the street and takes you up to the Mountain. Breakfast was make your own waffles, breads, yogurt/granola and they had Colorado Green Chili when we were there. Hot Tub was clean but too hot to hang out for a long soak. Would recommend The Pub down the street for happy hour. Overall it was very convenient, simple, clean and budget friendly.
My 2 sons and I stayed at the BW in Winter Park to go to ski at Winter Park/Mary Jane. We were looking for 3 beds. We called the motel and they said they had a room with 3 queen beds. I thought it would be a good deal. The room actually has 2 queen murphy beds that pull down from the wall and a fold out couch. I guess technically it was 3 queens? Not very comfortable beds. On the other hand Keith at the front desk gave us the low down on where to snowboard. The breakfast was decent. Overall ok. I probably would not stay with the murphy beds.
Stayed in downtown Winter Park while looking at condos/houses to buy for possible future snow trips and income property. Very close to free transportation everywhere around town & the resort. Good value, friendly staff and awesome breakfast. Only things that needs to be improved are two fold. The towels need to be softer. I suggest buying new ones as these are close to sandpaper. Secondly, the room heaters were loud but effective. It's a cold climate so one expects heat to take time. Noisy heaters were a bit distracting during sleep periods.
This was the perfect place to stay in Winter Park!!! It was right next to the bus stops and the staff was very friendly. Good breakfast waffles and great hotel! It was also right next door to some other dining options, but the bus was just as fast.
Conveniently located in town on shuttle route. LOVED the pillows on the bed, the bed was very comfortable, room was warm and pleasant. Nice breakfast with a big selection, good coffee. Convenient to walk to restaurants. Front desk associates were helpful with questions asked.
My favorite place to stay in WP. Close to resort shuttle stop, hot breakfast, hot tub & provided everything else we needed for a great snowboard trip. Kind employees (Keith, Amy & Carol), rooms look recently renovated and you cant beat their location.
Although most of our experience at this hotel was decent, the fact that there was a big pet stain on the carpet put a big damper on the stay. We were lied to about what it was. I walked up to the desk while 2 employees were talking about it. I overheard them say it was a pet stain. They were fully booked and could not give us another room, but the stain was not being adequately addressed while we were there. I assumed that housekeeping would follow through on finishing the job, but they didn't and I don't think it was their fault. Seems like management was not on top of their game. I needed to ask them to remove the industrial fan, and vacuum the area, to ventilate the room. No one seemed to really care that 1/3 of our tiny room was unusable.
We stayed for 4 nights. It was close walking distance to much of the town and park, which was nice. The front desk staff was kind, helpful and friendly. Housekeeping could've done a bit better. A cup of hot chocolate sat on the dresser for 2 days. I didn't want to put it in the trash with liquid in it, and it was so thick, I couldn't pour it down the bathroom sink. So if you decide to get hot chocolate from the lobby, I highly advise adding water or milk. Our bathroom floor stayed dirty, like no one ever mopped it. Then we came back to our room, after being gone literally all day long, and our room had been left open. Happy to report everything was in place and nothing was missing, but still. That definitely did not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. When I brought it up to the gentleman at the front desk, he did apologize and say he would talk to housekeeping about it, however he did not ask me what room, or my name, so.....Overall our stay here was okay, I guess, but have to say if we travel here again, they will not be our choice hotel.
It was a nice hotel in Colorado!! The snow was beautiful outside! The hotel lobby was kind of small for serving breakfast... the hotel maybe one day. An be remodeled and made bigger, to have a decent size breakfast room, and also a decent size seating area in the lobby.
Location was 5 mins from Winterpark ski slopes. Bus available right outside hotel to slopes. Walking distance to all manner of restaurants (reservations anywhere highly recommended) Beds super comfortable. Very nice hot tub! Friendly staff. Will definitely stay again.
We stayed here one night after Xmas. The location is great for Winter Park. The hotel is basic. It's the location that is ideal. The staff was especially friendly. Craig was very nice at check in and at breakfast. The double bedded room that we had was nothing special but it was fine for one night. The walls and doors are thin and you could hear staff and other guests talking in the halls in the morning. Didn't get to experience much of breakfast. Accessible front entry door did not seem to operate. This hotel would do well with automatic front doors. I paid for the stay with points, otherwise the overnight stay would have run me over $300. I would definitely stay again, but would never pay the seasonal rate would have to have points. We did not use the hot tub or pool area.
Convenient Location. Pick up and drop off to Winter Park ski area is just across the street. Better than average breakfast. Location is in the downtown area close to restaurants and shopping area.Clean hotel with friendly staff.Would stay again.
The hotel advertises as pet friendly with a $15 charge - which is fine. They don't explain - on line or during your phone reservation - that there are only 6 pet-friendly rooms and a charge of $75 cash for a special “deep-cleaning fee.” You only find this out at check-in. They explain that they do not accept credit cards for this charge because guests complain of being scammed and challenge the charge with the CC company. If you don't have $75 cash, they tell you to find and ATM. Since the reservations are non-refundable, you're trapped - either fork over the Benjamins or forfeit your room fee. Obviously, guests feel scammed BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING SCAMMED. The next morning as I was leaving I asked the cleaning crew who was waiting outside my room if they had instructions to deep clean my room because I had my 16-pound dog with me - they said no. There are lots of other hotels in Winter Park that welcome pets. I would suggest choosing one of those and avoiding the Mafia-like shakedown at Best Western.
The property was easy to find and parking was well lit. The staff at the desk at check in, later on with information about the local restaurants, and at check out the next day were exceptional. Breakfast was good but a little crowded. We were traveling on I70 with this was an overnight stop. It was a little out of the way but a nice ride and a good place to walk around town.
My wife and I drove through the Rocky Mountain National Park from Boulder and decided to stay at this Best Western. The staff was very nice and friendly and the room was clean but nothing fancy. There were a few restaurants nearby. I also selected this hotel because I had points to stay for free.
Just needed somewhere to stay a couple of nights close to RMNP at short notice - this place ticked all our boxes (and more) and didn't disappoint. Staff generally friendly, comfortable spacious rooms, pretty good breakfast. Good enough location for us, 45 mins from the park (Grand Lake end of Trail Ridge Road), though we struggled to find dining in Winter Park after our long days in the park, this being mid-September and somewhat out of season.
We booked our room online because this hotel was listed as pet friendly and that they had a hot tub. So we packed our dogs and our swimsuits and headed up. At check in no one asked about pets and we assumed we had a pet room. We had planned on hot tubbing that evening but were informed the hot tub was out of order. So we decided to go play at The Foundry. While there around 7:30 PM I received an extremely rude call from Keith stating that the dogs were barking and that I needed to come get them and keep them in the car. Before I could even get back he cancelled my keys and when I came to the front desk told me that I wasn't in a pet room and that he was charging me a $100 “annoyance fee”. I can understand if it was late at night but it was 7:30 in the evening and these are two 20 pound Shiba Inus. Also, I had booked the room online and the rooms that dogs were not allowed in were clearly marked and the room I got was not marked as no pets so I assumed it was a pet room. Regardless Keith was extremely rude about the way he handled it. The following morning we were all woken up at 6:00 AM by the rolling of carts, the banging of these carts against our door and the staff doing laundry and trash right outside our room. Overall it was a really poor experience and not what we're used to when traveling to mountain tourist areas.
We were traveling from Aspen to Estes Park and decided to stay in Winter Park. It was a nice hotel. Good breakfast. The room was nice and it was clean. Restaurants are close by. I would recommend this place.
Lobby was very nice. Front desk was very helpful at check in and departure. Room was very clean. Internet was pretty fast and reliable. Great area for restaurants, winter skiing and sports, hiking, etc..
The motel was in a great location, had welcoming staff and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a plus. There were not side tables or lamps on both sides of the bed. It's helpful now a days with cell phones to plug in and for each person to have a light for reading.
Caution : We stayed Friday September 6 for 1 night. Front desk representatives were rude especially the older gentleman. We were asking questions about the town, entertainment, restaurants , rude answers - we could have stayed longer but wouldn't spend another night. Breakfast was great and clean establishment.
Great staff let me check in early . Had a wedding and needed to get ready before checkin time. breakfast was really good hot meal even had green chili for the eggs..make your own waffles and granola..perfect
We chose to stay in Winter Park after visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. The hotel is in the middle of town, which is nice for summer, but if skiing I would have preferred to have been closer to the mountain. The room was clean and the AC worked well. If visiting Winter Park in the summer be sure to ask about AC as many of the other hotels do not have it.
We arrived early to Winterpark and Kimmi was able to get us in. We were so grateful to be able to unload early, before an afternoon of Golf. The room was nicely appointed and all the guests around us were very thoughtful guests.
The hotel is in a great location in the mountains. Otherwise just ok. The room itself was fine, but creaky floors above were a bummer. The real downfall was the breakfast. Not sure if the girl taking care of it was new, but it needed help. Garbage cans overflowing and food items were out. I only saw her for a minute of the 10 I was eating.
Location was good. Staff was nice. Mountain View room wasn't really the best view, but if you looked to the side you could see the mountain. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. A little pricey for the size of room.
This Best Western is in a good location in the center of Winter Park. It was clean and the staff were pleasant. Breakfast is about as expected. The building itself is rather worn and could use a refresh. It has a hot tub which is in a tired outbuilding. There is an outdoor bar on the north side (even-numbered rooms) - better to stay in an odd-numbered room. We were charged a small resort fee - this is definitely not a resort. The Trp Advisor rankings are rather high, so we expected much more than we experienced.
Good place to stay right in the middle of downtown Winter Park. Hot tub location not so good but breakfast was great and customer service was excellent. Move or do away with the Hot Tube., not necessary
We stayed here for one night on the way to RMNP and it was great! Brittany at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and nice. This hotel is super close to restaurants and shops in Winter Park as well! Not a bad place to stay!
I have NEVER EVER stayed in a hotel/room as clean as this one! I am OCD when it comes to cleanliness. When I say there was not a spec of dirt anywhere(even behind the toilet...I checked) I am not exaggerating!!!!
This hotel met all our needs as a group - grandparents, parents, and little ones aged 2 and 4. The hotel was spotless, breakfast TERRIFIC, rooms were quiet and restful, service and location were great. The front desk staff took initiative to provide crayons and coloring booklets for the little ones, and helped us with everything from restaurants to Band-Aids. A lovely playground for the kids in walking distance, too! The location gave us easy access to Winter Park Resort, Sombrero Stables, Granby Lake, and Grand Lake. We look forward to next time!
Great service. Room was great for the price. The beds were comfortable and clean. Breakfast area and lobby were very nice. It was right on the main street so, it was within walking distance to many places to dine.
I must admit that our stay here was good. It's clean and comfortable and there were no problems. The breakfast was standard BW fare, which is good. Staff were friendly. But it was weird that the room was so small! It had all the usual furniture that you'd find in a BW, but the furniture just barely fit, and there was not a lot of extra floor space. So basically, we were not unhappy with our stay.
We stayed here several nights over July 4th holiday, and were very pleased. The place is convenient walking distance from the towns shops and restaurants. Near the city park and on the bus route to the ski slopes. Our room was clean and had all we needed for a good nights rest.
This is a very nice property in a great location. Walking distance to coffee houses, restaurants, bakeries. Check in is fast and easy. All hotel employees I encountered were extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast is good however it doesn't change much during the week. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Hotel is quiet and very clean. I would recommend this property to enhance your Winter Park experience.
We came 500 miles for a grandson's graduation from High School. Loved this hotel. The rooms were exceptionaly clean. Everything worked. The lobby was clean. And the breakfast (Hot Food) was good. Very easy access to hotel from main street. And finally the price was right. Visitor from Utah
Just here to say that Keith who was working at the front desk is one of the most amazing Best Western Employees I've ever encountered. He was very efficient in getting us checked in. His sarcastic sense of humor really gave us some comedic relief after an 8 hour drive here from South Dakota. He had some great recommendations ready to go and was very knowledgeable about the hotel and the area. Love Him!
I do not have nothing negative to said only positive . Excellent Staff , confortable bed, good location, and good breakfast .You have an ski rental store next to the hotel. When you stay in the hotel you will get a 20%off in all ski rental .
This place looks frumpy on the outside, but it was wonderful and a great value. Clean, quiet, comfortable, and had everything we needed: hot tub, great breakfast (with NO styrofoam and they use paper-based plates & glasses--YAY), close to everything, and a super great value. We'll be back.
We had a wonderful stay here. Great location, It is in the heart of everything. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. Keith (evening front desk clerk) was nice, funny, informative, and great with kids. The Free breakfast was wonderful with a great variety of food. Simple rooms but had everything you need and clean. We would stay here again!!
The Alpenglow Best Western is a friendly, convenient and nicely located spot in Winter Park. It is just 3 miles from the main base lodge/gondola and 5 miles from the Mary Jane base. There are many eating and other establishments within walking distance. It is definitely a place you should consider when staying in Winter Park.
I stayed st this hotel while in town for a concert and the hotel was very nice. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was tasty but the dining area was small and very busy. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and was happy with the hotel. Thanks
Well I want to be fair. The hotel layout and rooms met my expectations. Additionally it is very convenient to the Winter Park base. And I must say the staff that we interacted with were professional and polite. However, on this weekend they were just in over their head. Obviously sold out and understaffed. Our room was never serviced and for the rate for the weekend you would think that it wouldn't be an issue. When questioned at the desk they had towels and soap available and it was delivered with a smile. Breakfast was tough both days. Again, just understaffed. No eggs or bacon/sausage either day and the waffles ran out in Saturday. Would I come back...probably...only because of the staff that's was working...they were working hard and had a smile on their face.
It was a good hotel at a good price. And just a short drive down from Winter Park Ski Resort. It had a hot breakfast with eggs and sausage. My only complaint was there wasn't enough room for seating and we had to take our food back to the room and eat.
A great place if your planning on skiing, only 5 minutes to Winter Park base, a couple of good restaurants close (highly recommend Smokey's BBQ and Randi's Pub). Front desk staff very friendly and helpful and the rooms very well done, clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was the best I have had in that category and made a welcome start to the day. Will definitely staff there again.
This hotel benefits from being convenient and pet friendly - they must have a lot of first time visitors and very few return guests. The initial reception was friendly, helpful and proud of the hotel and everything else was awful. Rooms are very small, dated and not practical - not even a mirror outside the bathroom so two people can get ready at the same time. Walls were so thin we could hear the neighboring room all night - even after several people on the floor complained there was really nothin gthe front desk could do. Breakfast was too crowded, the staff couldn't keep up, a single half container of eggs that was gone as soon as it was out and took 5-10 minutes to replace, fewer than 10 tables for an entire hotel. Front desk staff had no knowledge of local "Link" system - to include the names of nearby stops - seriously unacceptable since Link is one of the advertised conveniences of staying there. When we asked for accommodation for a guest that was not skiing to leave an hour late we were told :"we don't make any accommodations during ski season" - and then the staff proceeded to argue about it in front of us - awful policy and clearly inconsistent application. This hotel is too proud of their location and definitely not appreciating your money. Find a VRBO - or just go home, I-70 traffic is no more stressful than this awful experience!
Keith at Alpenglo in Winter Park Colo was the best. Checked us in, made accommodations and changes, made our trip and stay to ski the Stagecoach Nordic ski race the absolute best. We will be back...all 6 of us! And we will bring friends!!! Thank you! KjMcD
- Friendly and attentive staff. Special kudos to the breakfast attendant, young kid. - Had third floor room, clean and quiet. Microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. - Two issues with the room. 1. Scratchy towels. 2. For some odd reason the refrigerator is in the clothes closet. It took up room needed to hang clothes. - Breakfast provided. Standard fare, eggs, bacon, cereals, waffle maker... - Location is ideal. Can walk to restaurants. - Would use again.
The most uncomfortable beds and pillows I have experienced in a hotel. Spent three nights there and each morning my back hurt worse. For being in Winter Park I expected much more. For $800 for three nights during the holiday, I at least expected comfortable mattresses and pillows. Was also promised an early check in that we didn't get. I'll pay more money somewhere else to sleep better and wake up without aches.
To begin, first time famiky ski trip to Winter Park. We are Best Western reward members & have had wonderful experienxes with the chain. BW Winter Park is great DT location. The staff are wonderful- friendly, helpful & work hard. Rooms clean & comfortable with nice breakfast options. Hope to stay there again soon!
This was our 2nd stay here during the Christmas holidays and the hotel and staff are amazing! The location is within walking distance of so many restaurants and the bus that runs to Winter Park Resort picks up and drops off practically in front of the hotel. Extremely convenient!
I have been a long term member of this hotel chain... this is a tough review though the hotel is or must be in the process of upgrading...it has new furniture, new paint, new carpets, very friendly staff...but its not a yet a Plus Property... my opinion? Rooms are small although freshly done, not enough towels in the bathroom, great shower head not enough toiletries fridge was not even cold although I called ahead and asked that it be turned on. Breakfast was less than desirable...standard powdered eggs, sausage, bakery items some yogurt, and incredible small area. Actually breakfast was held in the reception area, extremely hot, considering the its a ski area and patrons are ready to hit the slopes with all their winter attire. few tables, few chairs, overcrowded and very unpleasant. Unless they are listed as a PLUS property I would not return sorry folks...not many Best Westerns in the area, but for $215.00 a night I expected much more
The ups, great staff, Bob got us in early, Tim the breakfast guy (who we thought was the GM) does the best 2 star hotel breakfast ever give this place the 3rd star in this review. The downs, beds one good one not so good the noise of dogs below us. The strange, no manager. As we stated we thought Tim was it, but the GM works nights mostly. As a former hotel worker, WTF, why?? Who leads the staff or talks up the guests to ensure quality? We wanted to to with the manager to state our likes and dislikes, but we put it here instead.
Awesome staff- super friendly and helpful! They also went above and beyond for us and helped us out with our pet. Check-in was easy and quick, breakfast was great with quite a variety of items, rooms had updated furniture, decor, and TV, bathroom was clean and stocked with the usual hotel items, lobby/breakfast area was clean, staff was great at keeping up with the tracking in of snow—overall great and we will be staying here again! Price and location were great for our overnight stay!
We had to move to a different hotel at 1am because we were unable to fall asleep due to the poor bed quality. Everything else about the hotel was very nice. It appears to have been recently remodeled and the location is walking distance to many shops and restaurants. We just weren't able to sleep which defeats the purpose of paying for a hotel room.
Super friendly staff. The man at the desk let us microwave our leftovers and use their dishes. The room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was an included buffet that was very good. A free bus stops across the street which takes you to the ski resort, about 5-10 minutes away. They had a nice hot tub in a separate cozy building just a few feet away from the main building-nice after a day of skiing.
My family and I spent a few nights in Winter Park last ski season. We left behind my favorite down jacket (at the time) and contacted the front desk to ask hem if they could send it. They did not, but this weekend, months after our last visit Carol looked for it in the L&F and bingo! they still had it. It is not very often (unfortunately) that you find this kind of honesty and service. Thank you Carol and Alpenglow...Oh, and the service, breakfast and accommodations are also great.
Keith is the BEST PERSON TO TALK TO! We couldn't come the day we wanted to due to weather and, no problem! He helped us out. When we came to check in, there he was.. awesome as heck, such a character and if u ask me.. deserves a huge raise! Definitely will be coming back to stay here every time we go skiing. This place has good people and good vibes!!!
Front desk staff, housekeeping, managers, maintenance -- everyone was good-natured, friendly and helpful. Beds here were the most comfortable of the three hotels we booked during our 10-day trip -- beating out Wyndham and DoubleTree on this trip.
Does what you need when you are in a ski town in the winter. Clean, warm, central location in Town. Only 10 mins to slopes on Shuttle. Probably best to book well in advance during peak ski season. Will use again.
This was our second time staying at Best Western Alpenglo with our dogs. The rooms were comfortable and reasonable priced, the staff members friendly and helpful, breakfast was satisfying, and the location was convenient. We had plans to walk the Fraser River trail, and the trailhead was just walking distance from the hotel. Overall we were very pleased and would stay here again.
Our trip through Colorado continues with a stop in Winter Park. Keith at the desk was helpful explaining the property and giving tips for our dinner choices. The room is clean and recently remodeled. Air conditioned which was needed today with the very warm temperatures. Nice breakfast included. It's conveniently located near shopping and restaurants.
Excellent hotel to stay in Winter Park. The staff were very knowledgeable and recommended places to eat, including Randi's Bar and Restaurant, which was only a block away. The hotel was clean and our room on the top floor was quiet. Special thanks to Bob on reception who located my husbands wedding ring which he had left in the bathroom on departure. We collected it the following day and thanked him in person. Bob should be rewarded for his excellent service by the hotel management.
This is a very solid hotel choice for the Winter Park area. Easy to walk to nearby eating places and a grocery store. Also walking/bike trail goes right by hotel. Easy parking close parking. Comfortable rooms with good views. Breakfast was average.
I love this place. Super comfortable and clean. I love the staff. I really enjoyed my breakfast. I like the cozy area. I like the walking paths close by. I have dogs and this place is great to my dogs in the dog friendly rooms.
If you are looking for a place to stay for one night in Winter Park, this Best Western would be a good choice. We explored Rocky Mountain National Park that day and drove from the entrance at Estes Park to Winter Park. This was a good choice. Staff were nice and the rooms clean. Worked for us.
We stayed in a double with 2 double beds. It was extremely clean and attractively updated with a small, but clean and nice bathroom with the expected amenities. The front desk people were very pleasant and helpful, with suggestions and directions. The best surprise was the very good included breakfast that included excellent scrambled eggs and the fixings for breakfast burritos, as well as waffles and the usual "continental breakfast" fare you expect from this type of place.
Had a wonderful stay, friendly staff, good breakfast, centrally located. Only area for improvement is to replace older mattresses which are very soft, dish bowling and non supportive...based on mattress in room 304. Otherwise would be way above average.
Pros: We had a pet friendly room and it was very clean and did not have a heavy room deodorant smell like other hotels do. The furniture was new. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The room had a microwave, refrigerator and fully stocked coffee maker. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was included but it was only average. Cons: The room was a little cramped. The drains in the sink and bathtub were plugged. The bathroom was very small and there was little room to put out our toiletries. That's it folks!
Totally faultless for anything you'd need to have whilst away. We stay here whilst skiing Winter Park and it is close to everything you need. Rooms are spotless and comfortable. Breakfast always excellent. Staff always professional and friendly.
We stay here each year when we attend the Winter Park Beer Festival. The staff, Bob especially, is always friendly and helpful! The rooms are clean, have the amenities we need and the beds are comfortable. We enjoy that this is so close to the beer festival and has some great restaurants in the area as well! Thanks for always making our stay great!
We were staying three nights but added another night as there was more hiking than we had thought. Very clean and, friendly staff. Right on the main drag. We never moved our car to go to dinner which we really like. Breakfast was pretty typical for a Best Western, enough variety, they rotated the breakfast meat every day. The only negative was the Folgers coffee machine. I'd rather have Folgers from a Bunn with coffee pots. We would stay there again.
This hotel is in a great location walking distance from lots of nice restaurants, shopping, parks, and trails in Winter Park. The staff is welcoming. The breakfast buffet is large and tasty. The rooms are fine, and there is a hot tub. So why am i not giving it a 5? It's unfortunately because after our first night in the hotel, we went to the nearby alpine slide at Winter Park Resort and returned at about 3 Pm to find our room only half cleaned (only one bed made, bathroom sink not cleaned...) and the room door to the hall wide open (not just unlocked, but wide open). Any of our stuff inside could have stolen (we had several laptops inside). No cleaning staff were in sight. I went to the front desk and complained. 15 minutes later, the cleaning supervisor came by and apologized, said they had gotten distracted with something and left our room half done with the door open. I appreciate the apology, but I still can't give this otherwise very nice hotel more than a 3 after that experience.
The hotel was clean and modern. The assortment available at the breakfast was fantastic - everything from build your own breakfast sandwiches, to waffles, to yogurt. Staff was friendly as well. The hot tub out back is a nice bonus - adds to the alpine feel of the property.
The hotel is close to everything....restaurants, bars, shops, and trails!!! The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not replemished and by 8 there were slim pickings.
While the motel is not the most modern, the lobby /reservation desk was very clean and they had a good selection for the free breakfast. Tea and coffee is available all day long. The gentleman at the reservation desk who checked us in was very friendly, asked about our travels and even gave some advise about places to visit in the area. The room was clean and some what updated / fine for the two nights we were there. The room was even equipped with a refrigerator- perfect for keeping bottles of water cold to take with us while touring the area.
The staff was very welcoming as well settled in after a 2nd day of riding. The rooms were very clean and consistently quality checked before letting people into them to make sure they are up to snuff. The staff new the area restaurants and pubs pretty well which was a bonus. Only bummer was hot tub could have used more powerful jets.
Hotel property was very easy to find and in close walking proximity to several restaurants, though since this is primarily a ski town, many close very early in the summertime. Room we stayed in was clean and large enough for a one night stay for two people. Hot tub available for use, but you do have to walk outside of the main building to small building in the back, so could be a little chilly in the winter. Free breakfast provided with many options and was kept very well stocked. Hotel staff that we had contact with were very nice and informative about the area.
check in with the guy on duty who was rude. we had requested an adjoining room when we reserved a two night stay directly with the hotel on the phone. reason was we were there with our son and daughter-in-law and their 4 month old. the guy on duty abruptly told us that it is not possible to request an adjoining room. but the fact is we did request it so someone was mistaken and definitely was the guy on duty. we at least got rooms on the same floor with our family. when we got to our room, guess what, it had an adjoining room. unlucky for us, the guy who was in the adjoining room had some kind of condition where he hacked and coughed all night long. obviously not a fault of the hotel but the noise came right through the door to the adjoining room. my advice, make sure your room does not have an adjoining room. down the hall was a room which the guest had a dog. she would leave the room but left it ajar via the lock bar. as a result the dog would scratch the door and bark for hours. i reported it to the guy on duty the next day, the same one as before and he did nothing about it. so beware it is a pet friendly motel. overall, the room was somewhat clean, not fully vacuumed. the rooms are very small. breakfast was good but the area is small and all the tables continuously full. best part of the motel is it is conveniently located to the downtown area and amphitheater. but you do pay the price as it is just under $200 a night for an average at best motel. don't be fooled, it is not a lodge as you would think of in Colorado.
The Alpenglo Lodge is conveniently located near several good restaurants and is a good place to spend a night, although I'm not sure I would stay longer. The room is small and, in my opinion, oddly decorated. The furniture is rather modern, like something from Ikea, and a chair is stuffed tightly into a space between the bed and the bathroom so someone would have trouble getting out of that side of the bed. One bed has 6 pillows on it. 6!!! The air conditioning unit is also very loud. I thought the free breakfast was outstanding. Besides the usual fare of cereal, muffins, waffles, and juice, we were also offered bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, salsa, and tortillas to make breakfast burritos. That was something I've never seen before in a free breakfast, and I thought this was a really nice touch to set this place apart.
So it isn't really a door but in room 211 under the carpet in front of the bed lies a large hole that my foot found several times during my stay. The room seemed small as if part of the renovation was to make more rooms and in the process created that cracker box feel. Noisey a/c vibration all night was a joy as well. The huge uncomfortable chair in the room jammed against the lamp jammed against the wall was out of place as well. This new style of BW is terrible, especially if you want to unload straight to your room. We arrived at 3 and the room wasn't ready until around 4. This is the first BW I've experienced this at.
Rooms and linens were clean and Keith at the front desk was very nice! Prices online didn't match price quote at front desk, when I asked if it included discounts, AAA, etc he said yes- but it was nearly $20 higher. Sink, toilet, and shower all in the same room makes it harder for everyone to get ready. 1 out of our 2 rooms had very weak AC in the night. And though no fault of the hotel, we couldn't even think of getting breakfast. Completely raided and left a mess by other guests and no where to sit, space is very small. I would stay here again, but book online.
This property hit all the right notes for me: value, cleanliness, all furnishings in good working order, & friendly staff—speaking of which, I've never experienced such a well-staffed property (in numbers & quality) outside of a 5-star resort. The double queen room was about average size. The bed and pillows were good—about what I'd expect. It had a moderately sized desk with a rolling table that nests underneath. There's a wardrobe but half the inside was taken up by a decent sized fridge with a microwave stacked on top. One nice feature was the coat hooks near the door. The bathroom was pretty typical—nothing special. Everything was clean and in good repair. There's a small wall-mounted shelf adjacent to the sink that provides a little more space for toiletries. The breakfast area was clean, kept well-stocked, & had a large variety of items (muffins, bagels & bread, yogurt, hot oatmeal packets, cereals, fruits, etc.). They had scrambled eggs, bacon, & tortillas so you could make a breakfast burrito. In addition, it's equipped with 2 Belgian waffle makers (one that makes a single regular size & one that makes 4 small ones), a continuous feed commercial toaster (so more than one person can make toast at a time), and 2 drink dispensers (one for cold drinks like juice & one for hot drinks like coffee.) I'm probably forgetting something but let's just say the selection exceeded my expectations. The location is great it you're looking for a convenient downtown location that makes it easy to walk to restaurants and such. It's about a 60 second bike ride from a big park. If I had one nitpick, it'd be the hot tub cover: they need a new one, maybe a roll-up one.
Very nice staff, Thank you Elise for your help,Thank you Sandy for chating and your beautiful smile.Thank you Bob for coat hangers.Thank you Ricky ,Alex,Jody. Clean room, Beds are comfy, lots of pillows , 24 Hours Coffee, Fresh fruits by front desk .good breakfast.!!!
Staff was friendly, room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was good. Location was outstanding. There's a distillery right next door! The staff helped me find snow shoe rentals, and gave me wonderful recommendations for places to eat.
If you want to be centrally located, this place is the one. Its a decent enough place and has some very choice amenities. The room was prone to be a bit cold, especially near the bath area, but overall, not enough to keep me from staying here again. Many restaurants to choose from just steps from the front door. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful when asked for choices on options for places in town.
Found great rate on Expedia. Hotel was freshly updared, staffed with wonderful and accomadating folks. Opened hot tub early for me. No was sore due to the previous day of sking and needed a 6am verses 10am soaking.
We have stayed here a couple times on ski trips to Winter Park. It is a nice, yet very average hotel. * The rooms are comfortable and clean. The beds could be more comfortable, but for a Best Western, they are good. * The staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful. * Breakfast is good but is served in the lobby. Seating is limited and is always crowded. * The hot tub is a nice thing for after skiing or a long day. * The location is great, right in the middle of town on the free shuttle route. If you want to sleep in, request a room on the top floor. If you plan to wake up early to go skiing, request a room on the first floor. Noise from upper floors carries down. Especially ski boots.
Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staff. And like others stated the breakfast could be a bit better, but not bad. The parking is a lil bit of a walk, but not bad. Just park out front and unload before parking.
Rooms were very clean, the staff was very accommodating, breakfast could be a little better, but overall good. Price was based on spring break season which in Colorado seems to go on and on for 6+ weeks, a little bit much , however it is Colorado Sking in March. I would come back to this hotel without question
This hotel is a great location, the free shuttle to Winter Park is super close and there are some nice restaurants and spots to check out close by. The rooms are pretty cozy and not super big, but we found them comfortable for two people. The occasional child would run by yelling, but that happens at most hotels. The staff is helpful with any questions about getting around and there's a decent breakfast included. There is also a ski/snowboard rental right next door which is really convenient. Overall really liked the hotel and would suggest it!
very nice Best Western, loved the super comfy beds, hot protein brk, pet friendly rooms without outrageous pet fees, bathroom a little small, would be nice to have larger bathroom vanity space, had to keep bathroom door open to keep bathroom warm.
We booked this trip last minute as ski conditions in our home state of VT were marginal. The last Best Western we stayed out was in NJ several years ago and it was not good. However Alpenglo Lodge worked out perfectly for us. The room was a decent size (rm 204) and very clean. The check in was easy and friendly. The hotel was very quiet. The breakfast was adequate but more importantly the coffee was good. We had a car so drove to Winter Park every day. We walked to dinner every night. Several very good restaurants within a five minute walk which was really nice. It was a great stay.
The location is perfect for any winter activities you may have planed. My wife, adult son and I had 4 glorious days here in Winter Park CO. The breakfast at this BW was outstanding with a variety of items to choose from. The coffee was exceptional. Bob one of the desk clerks was outstanding, he made our stay delightful. He is an asset to this lodge. The central location of the lodge is perfect for skiers, snowmobilers, snowshoers, tubers and hikers. Rentals for ski equipment is directly next door. The Smoke House across the street has great BBQ (Real Southern style)! I recomend you give it your consideration. You won't be disapointed.
This a great base for a Winter Park Ski Trip. The hotel is a smaller size and the room we had was smaller with a good view of the mountain. Breakfast was very good - eggs, breakfast meat, waffles, pastries (including bagels and cream cheese), juice, coffee, and cereal. Coffee machine was available 24 hours. Location is very good. Shuttle for the city and ski area right outside the door. Walk to restaurants and shopping. Enjoyed this trip more than a more expensive condo stay where you cook and clean. Staff very friendly both at front desk and cleaning staff. Would stay again!
We arrived at 1pm and they told me to wait until 4pm, but when arrived at that time they make me wait for another 20 min and the services was REALLY BAD...I asked if they are flexible with the checkout and they said NO ??
The location is convenient to the shuttle route, which is right out front. The service was very friendly. The rooms were comfortable and the price was reasonable. Breakfast included. We stayed for one night until our house would be ready - they stored our baggage for the day. A good find!
I stayed in the town of Winter Park, Co. It was nice. Tourists drive like deekheads so please look out for yourself when crossing the street. The trails were snowy and fun to run. Skiing was cool too and the lines were short because it was midweek. I will stay here again because it is worth it.
My wife and I just stayed a night in the Alpenglo Lodge. The room was clean and updated with everything that my wife and I needed. The location can't be beat, right downtown with the bus right out front. The morning breakfast was hot and fresh with a pretty decent selection of eggs, sausage, muffins, cereal, fruit, and beverages. My wife and I used the hot tub also. It is located in a separate little building. The water was nice and hot, with plenty of room. Make sure you grab towls from the front desk. Checkin/out was smooth and pain free. Would go back again for sure.
The hotel is located close to most activities. Staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast area was too small for the number of guests (during weekends). Rooms and corridors were a little smelly. If guests upstairs move, you can here their steps. The heater was old and noisy. But what I found really strange, was that the fridge and microwave are inside the wardrobe. (See photo)
This hotel is located within walking distance of the majority of the shopping and dining in Winter Park. It is on the free shuttle route to the ski resort. The front dest staff is very friendly and the breakfast is fine. The hotel is a bit old and the cleaning staff is a bit lax. You have to go outside the main building and down some stairs to a small separate building in the back to access the hot tub. The parking lot is small.
The bad thing about reading good reviews on Trip Advisor is that you go in with high expectations. I was disappointed in the Best Western Alpenglo Lodge. The staff were definitely very friendly and helpful. But the room was very outdated (as was the entire hotel itself). The bed was lumpy, and the heater was loud when it clicked on/off. But most importantly, it didn't feel clean. I found multiple hairs on my bedroom pillow and looked like parts of the floor had not been vacuumed. I only stayed for one night -- and I got in late and left early. For my purpose, the stay was "fine." But if I were to return to Winter Park for a longer stay, I would not stay here.
Our room was a good size but the bathroom is really small. Big enough for 1 at a time. We have a microwaves & mini fridge which is always handy to have. They serve a nice hot breakfast with scrambled eggs and some meat. We have had crumbled bacon and sausage links. Also shredded cheese, muffins, mini donuts, make your own waffles, apples, oranges, oj and cranberry juice. They did run out of several things and did not replace them. Pretty bad they didn't have any more plates, peanut butter and jelly. My apple was rotten inside so I pitched it. Oranges were delicious. Our room was quiet most of the time. Our bed was fine, linens and towels too.
We were in room 105, which is a suite. 2 adults, 3 kids. Although maybe a new paint job is due, it was an amazing value and good sleep. The breakfast area has a LOT to choose from. It was not just a box of donuts, a glass of juice and a have a good day. Something there for just about everyone. Clean, extremely polite employees, and a nice stay. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We had an excellent stay over the holidays. The team at this hotel was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel rooms may need a little bit of work but they aren't getting there. There wasn't anything that we needed and we appreciate the staff and how hard they worked plus this is a great location in terms of being in town and the shuttle to the ski slopes is very convenient
I had a fabulous stay at the alpenglo lodge! The hot tub is great (very large, spacious enough for a few groups in a nice wooden building). Rooms are nice and clean, the front desk staff are very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was a notch above average for a simple continental breakfast. There's a shuttle stop right outside so it's very easy to get to the slopes, and you can walk to a lot of different fun restaurants and bars within a few minutes.
Other than the crumbs in the bed and1:00 am fire alarm, we had a nice comfortable stay. The manager change the sheets when we checked in and found the crumbs. We received a discount on our room for the fire alarm. It is minutes away from the ski slopes and walking distance from great eateries. Comfortable rooms.
Clean rooms. Recently redone. Great breakfast. Helpful people. Great location to Winter Park bus shuttle. Good value. Will stay there again. Refrigerator in room did not work. Shower made a whistle noise when water running. (Minor issues.) Staff indicated that they recently replaced all furnishings, and rooms looked recently remodeled.
This is a great hotel right near everything in Winter Park. Clean, updated rooms, super comfy beds, friendly and helpful staff, and a delicious breakfast. Close to restaurants and other fun things to do. We really enjoyed our stay.
I love staying here when I am in Winter Park. Every staff member I encountered there were very friendly and would go out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. Bob and Keith at the front desk were some of the most polite gentleman I have ever met and provided excellent guest service every time I needed something. Every thing worked in my room and I have absolutely no complaints about this hotel. As a bonus, It also has a great location in down town Winter Park and is close to many excellent shopping, dining, ski rental shops and night life.
We enjoyed our stay at The Best Western Alpenglo Lodge in Winter Park Co. The property is centrally located. We walked to resturants and drove a short distance to activities. Nice clean room and great staff.
The Hotel is good for the price we payed and it's break fast included deal. Totally worth it. The Matresses are too soft and couldn't get good sleep. But still i would go there again for the price. Wish the beds were of good quality.
Clean older building with a caring staff. Small rooms with table not desk set up. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Nothing fancy but works for business in the area when not needing a ski resort.
Great location with a friendly staff. Manager was very helpful and attentive. Great breakfast each morning. Very conveniently located for local attractions. Room and bed were very clean and conlmfortable.
A good value. Staff was excellent. If you're looking for a decent value for your ski trip, this will do. Somewhat limited parking but, it didn't present too much of a problem. There is a ski rental shop right next door.
Hotel is located in the middle of town with easy walking to restaurants and bars. The hotel is updated with nice lobby and hot tub out back. There is a picnic table next to the stream at the back of the property and a park just down the street. The staff was friendly and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is bar has burritos and waffle makers along with the normal far. We visited during the fall and had great views changing leaves and snow caps in the distance.
Hotel appears clean and welcoming from the highway.;dfgldlf;l;damgfl;dmf;ldmf;lamdfb;amb;admb;madfb;ldfmba;mba;ldbm;amb;lmdfb;mdlmbf;dmb;almb;madfmb;almbd;mbdlmfb;admlfb;ladmbf;adlmba;fmdb;dbmf;lafm;db;admbf;ldamfblm;ladbm
Stayed for 2 nights. Rooms were okay, average, but priced right. Right on the highway so convenient. Parking lot gets full easily so you might need to park next door. Check in and check out were quick and easy. Mostly impressed with their breakfast selection. For a free breakfast, they go all out and offer everything you could imagine and everything tastes great. We were both impressed.
Hotel was fine, definitely nothing fancy, nothing more than a place to sleep... breakfast was not good, felt outdated. Tub didn't drain properly. Overall it was fine and was priced right for somewhere to stay when on business
Our family stayed again at the Best Western Alpenglow Lodge for a night for a nearby high school bicycle race. We were traveling with a pet and had had a good experience here the previous year, so chose this hotel again. We were not disappointed. The front desk staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, yogurt, coffee, and fruit selections - which were refreshed on a regular basis by the staff. Breakfast was excellent. The hot tub had a bit of foam in it the evening we used it. We did notice one small problem again - despite a sign stating no smoking near the rear door (see attached photo), the ash tray disposal for smokers is immediately against the rear door. Perhaps for that reason every evening someone is there creating a huge cloud of smoke to walk through into the smoke-free hotel (it's even worse when it's raining or snowing - then that's the place to congregate, despite the sign). Perhaps management could move the cigarette disposal farther away from the rear door? We did notice a slight odor to the pet room, but did not mention this to management (smelled like carpet cleaner?). It wasn't a big deal. We would and definitely will stay here again. In 2017 there was a $10 pet fee -- be sure to get a free milkbone from the jar at the front desk. Very pet friendly!
Smaller hotel but comfortable rooms decent breakfast. Friendly staff. Walking distance to great food. And walking trails. Next to a bike shop that rents out bikes for decent price. Great place to have a business trip of multible people.
We got a really good deal on the room, slept comfortably and had a nice breakfast. We also appreciated the staff and the hosts at the welcome desk. If we come back through Winter Park we will definitely stay here again
We had a very nice one-night stay here after spending the day in Rocky Mountain National Park. Clean and comfortable, with very caring staff. I was thrilled to have gluten-free options available at breakfast.
Was very happy with the front desk service, room quality, and breakfast. Would definitely stay here again. The staff clearly wants its customers to be happy. When we arrived at the hotel we had one special request and it was fulfilled immediately and satisfactorily.
Good Basic Hotel. Clean and comfortable. Liked the location right in the middle of Winter Park. Variety of foods for breakfast. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Up on third floor, but street traffic. Next to restaurant and bar, so noisy if windows are open. And big spot light on all night. Does have a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Short drive to Frasier where there is a SafeWay. Small bathroom, but very nice shower. Hair dryer and shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Good heavy towels. Big screen TV with lots of stations. Very good cell phone service and free internet. In town, very nice visitor center to pick up trail maps. Nice coffee shops in town and good BBQ right across the street. Traveled late August and temps were 50-60 at night and 85 during the day. Be sure to bring and wear sun glasses and hat. Many, many activities to do.
Although this room is right on the main hwy, I was surprised at how quiet it was in the room. Also had an elevator to the upper floors. The breakfast was fine, nothing to write home about, but had hot options, as well as continental fare. Was within walking distance to restaurants and cafes.
We came for the Wine Festival and this hotel had the best location by far. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room clean and comfortable. Be ready for the door noise. Every time anyone closes their room door, it makes quite a sound. We would stay here again.
We stayed here over the summer for 3 nights for super cheap. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, the staff was friendly, the hot tub was gigantic and lovely, and the breakfast was great. The AC in our room didn't work, but it was really a non-issue since the windows open and it was cool outside. The only other issue is that the walls seem a little thin, which didn't disturb me. I was more concerned with my children making too much noise for others. Overall a great stay!
nice hotel for the price and friendly staff. room are clean and fridge worked great. breakfast is more than adequate. have stayed here many times. Would recommend to anyone wanting a laid back place to stay.
Clean, comfortable room in a great location, close to good restaurants and to where the Winter Park Beer Festival is held yearly! We always stay here and are always happy with the value and comfort. Walking distance to a distillery, a few great restaurants and a skate park! Friendly staff and a decent breakfast all make this a great place to stay!
The modern amenities (lamps with outlets for charging phones, etc., microwave, mini-fridge, & GOOD coffee) and great service make this a wonderful spot to stay. The decor is a bit dated, but the breakfast, service, amenities, safety, and location more than make up for it. Great value, and walking distance to many good restaurants. Note: it is a bit hard to spot their sign with the trees nearby.
Hotel was clean and centrally located in town with many restaurant options within walking distance. Front desk staff was very friendly, had a positive attitude and helpful...giving us a great recommendation of where to go for dinner.
We spent an extended weekend in Winter Park, mostly to enjoy the activities at the Winter Park Resort. This is a nice hotel, clean, comfortable, but not with as many amenities as other comparable hotels offer. Though there is a hot tub, there is not a swimming pool or fitness center. As a result, I found the price too high for what was offered, but I am a sucker for brand loyalty. The breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold items, and the employees worked tirelessly to keep everything well stocked. It was great to be within walking distance to Hideaway Park and all of the other nice finds on Main Street. If the price is right, we would stay here again.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is on the main drag. There is not a covered area for unloading bags in the rain. Noise is not bad if the windows are closed. Otherwise road and rail road noise are noticeable. The walls are thin. The place is clean. The room was small. There was no desk. There was a very small table with two chairs; no electric outlet nearby. The mattress was good. There was a selection of pillows. The closet was an armoir. The price at about $120 for a standard king seems fair for the location and season, but no pool, no business center, no fitness center and the whirlpool is in a separate building. The internet is slow; 6.9 Mbps download speed. The breakfast room is in the lobby right at the front door. The breakfast has what you expect except boiled eggs. They did have tortillas, shredded cheese and salsa for building burritos. Yogurt is on the bottom shelf of a refrigerator about 9 inches from the floor making it difficult to select and retrieve the desired flavor.
This hotel is in a beautiful location. It is a little overpriced for a Bestwestern. The overall hotel is well maintained and clean which is very important. The beds in my room were a little to soft when compared to some other hotels I stay at. For a quick stay this is a good hotel with a very nice staff.
The property is old and the wifi didn't work but the staff was very friendly and helpful and we slept great! For the price, I would say this BW is a great value and we would definitely stay here again if we got the same rate.
great staff! We had a small water leak into our room and it was nothing the hotel could have done to prevent it. the leak was stoped and we were given a discount and extra points for our stay went above & beyond to make our stay the best! we will only be staying at this hotel int winter park CO
Had a family summer vacation. This is a great location, with nice rooms. The beds a little hard but I like soft beds. The staff was friendly. Breakfast could have had more variety Would definitely return
Being long-standing Best Western members, we chose the Apenglo as a base for hiking around the area. Every member of the staff was very personable and cared about making sure our stay was comfortable. Breakfast was the standard selection with waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and yogurt. There was also almond milk for those who don't want milk. The only complaint was the air conditioner was very loud and the thermostat was broken, requiring that we repeatedly rise from bed during the night to keep lowering the thermostat for the cooler to turn on--it would read 66 F while we were sweating. The hotel was centrally located and within walking distance of the entire town.
Just spent one night here before heading to Rocky Mountain National Park. The staff were extremely helpful and very welcoming! Breakfast was typical of chain restaurants, but very good and quite a few options. We had PLENTY of towels and lovely toiletries that were complimentary. So many restaurants are located within a short walking distance as are fun gift shops.
Perfect location for the Winter Park Jazz Festival. Hotel is very clean. Breakfast was great. We are booked for next years Jazz Fest. We hope to book this hotel for years to come. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Winter Park.
Great location for festivals, food, biking, running, hiking, skiing, bus access. Includes a good breakfast...6:30-9:30 AM! Indoor Jacuzzi with strong jets.Has been our go to base for the past few years for all those reasons
The staff was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. They even went out of their way to ask if everything was going well and if they can do anything for us when they would see us later in the day. The breakfast had a great selection with a little bit of everything a person could want.
We stayed for 1 night. The desk staff was wonderful. They recommended a great pizza place for dinner. Breakfast was good in the morning. The scenery was beautiful. The room was clean and quiet. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.
This property was clean, quite, and comfortable; which is what I expect at a BW property. All hospitality companies should model their product after this property Great staff, great location and good value for your money. Highly recommend this location. you won't be disappointed
The staff were fabulous - all very friendly and helpful. The location is good, very central to shops and the main park in town where events are held. The ski resort is down the road a ways. The room ends up feeling a little cramped. The wifi is good but you may have difficulty working with the desk setup - no plug in nearby and low chair. A few other patrons choose to smoke pot in their rooms despite it being against the rules and the smell spread throughout the hallway. This seems common in the area and was a low point on an otherwise good stay.
Very nice place, and good location. Our purpose was to be close to the YMCA, and this hotel was nice, and had good quick breakfast. Right in the middle of town so you are close to everything. The rooms were nice and beds were comfy. All staff we met were friendly.
Breakfast room was small, which seems to be common at most Best Westerns. One man hogged a table with his lap top while others were looking for a place to sit. Selection of items was good and the had skim milk. Coffee was very good. Bagel selection was also nice--there was more than just plain bagels.
After arriving late, check in went real smooth and quick. Check in guy (Travis) was very friendly. Comfortable beds and clean. Good breakfast and hot coffee. Very quite and got a good night sleep after driving 10 hours. Will stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - friendly, comfortable, clean, quiet, WONDERFUL location, easy parking. We were in town for a festival and it was two blocks away. Staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable, complimentary breakfast was good - all in all a great experience!
This hotel is conveniently located to many restaurants and venues. Perfect place to stay for "Blues from the Top" The staff is very helpful and friendly! The Continental Breakfast is great! Will definitely be back!
We arrived very late and only had the one night here but got a reasonable idea of the place. The guy on reception wasn't overly interested but it was around midnight when we got there. The strange thing was that the reception desk was located in the breakfast area. Not a big problem at midnight because it was empty, but the following morning the guests that are leaving are having to struggle with their luggage between the tables of the other guests who are still eating. Not ideal. Having said that, the rest was as you would expect. Clean room and a good breakfast, even though they were a little slow replenishing some of the breakfast items.
The best aspects of this hotel are the unexpected, nice, extra touches like the friendly, accommodating service. Also, you can get coffee, juice or fruit in the lobby any time of the day or night. It has a convenient location near the free shuttle, and very near a variety of dining options. The hotel itself is very average, and just what you would expect for the price. It is clean, neat, and well-kept, but not very fancy. It is very functional, and very suitable for families on a budget. I did, however, notice that the walls were very thin, and you kind of hear everything going on around you, which is okay since they have a noise curfew beginning at 10:00 p.m. When we were there, there were some annoying kids yelling and running down the hallways a couple of times, but I blame their parents for not teaching them better manners. Besides, it wasn't that terrible, and it didn't last too long. Kids need to know that they are in public, and that they need to behave differently than they do at home. All in all, I liked this place, and I would go back, but I don't think I would go out of my way to do so.
When I stay at a hotel, the most important thing for me is the level of customer service. Bob, Tori and Kerry were awesome. They went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay. They were warm and friendly. The price was VERY reasonable!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Winter Park area
We made a last-minute reservation at Best Western Alpenglow Lodge while on the road for a family vacation with our 3 children under age 10. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were quite adequate and clean, and the breakfast exceeded our expectations! We loved the bright and cheery lobby/breakfast room. I wish we could have made time for the hot tub! Would definitely stay again if in the area.
This is your normal Best Western it has not been renovated so it has a dated feel. The rooms and location are clean and well kept. Breakfast was hot and up to par for the buffet/quick breakfast. Rooms were clean and tiddy, no problem with this hotel at all. Great value for the $
I stayed here for 6 nights and I am definitely booking here again when I get the chance to visit Winter Park again. The location is at its best since it is in the middle of Downtown Winter Park. It is close to restaurants, rentals, convenience stores, Hideaway Park and Cooper Creek Mall. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel. I requested a wheelchair accessible room and I was given one at the 1st Floor which made it easy for me to move around. My room was so spacious with 2 queen-sized bed and spacious toilet and bathroom. I requested for a bathroom chair and it was brought immediately in my room. The daily breakfast is superb with choices of cereals, bread, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt, and fruits. There were also hot chocolate, coffee, and fruit juices to choose from. But what made my stay more enjoyable was the warm accommodation of Bob and Carol and the rest of the staff who were so friendly and helpful. Bob even assisted me in calling for the ADA shuttle since I was using a mobility scooter.
This Best Western in Winter Park is an all around very good value for Winter Park visitors. Conveniently located close to the middle of town, has the bus stop right in front of it for taking to Winter Park/Mary Jane, and really good restaurants within walking distance. (See Hernandos for great pizza) I didn't use my vehicle for the two days that I stayed there. The place is up to date, clean, and the breakfast is really good; providing Waffles, Doughnuts, Eggs and Bacon/Sausage as well as yogurt and fruit. Just the level of comfort that I needed. I liked the beds too. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I suggest treating them really nice too because they have to deal with many pretentious and high maintenance out-of-state tourists, which is too bad. There are "Ugly Americans" Visiting Winter park. These local folk are not your average Best Western Hotel staff.
The location is great for downtown Winter Park. Even after dark and in the winter we were able to easily walk to dinner and get back to the hotel problem free. The hotel is obviously not a 4 star resort but the rooms were quite (aside from kids running up and down the hallway) and the breakfast filled everyone up (the coffee was actually very good!). Will definitely stay here again especially to avoid the morning drive from Denver.
Easy to book reservations, helpful staff, convenient location to restaurants, ski rental, bus routes to and from skiing. We have stayed here before because of these attribules. Will probably stay here again!
We were looking for a decent place to stay in Winter Park that offered a good value and worked well with our family of four. This hotel is fairly basic if not slightly dated, but has been well maintained. It was clean and the staff was all very friendly. No fitness room or pool (but there is a hot tub which seemed popular). Breakfast was pretty average though seating is limited and we had problems with people camping out and not releasing tables to those of us waiting. This hotel met our expectations and needs, and we'd consider staying here again.
The hotel has a great location. There are many restaurants and stores near by. The hotel service is nice and helpful. The lobby is small and the it did' have enough space for the people. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable.
Very nice staff , beds were very comfortable , location was perfect . The breakfast was very good , The only problem we had was with the heater in the room . it was noisy and did not work well, I am sure they would have taken care of it if I had asked them ,
This hotel exceeds expectations. I usually try to get a handicap room because of some balance problems. The grab bars in the shower are quite helpful to me. I tried to ask for such when I made my reservations on the BW website. But in the special requests section, it was impossible to make any special requests. NO ENTRY WAS POSSIBLE. When I checked in, I asked if there was a handicap room available. I was told by the desk clerk that my request had already been noted and my reservations were for a handicap room. The desk clerk told me that there was an entry on the hotel reservation system to book me in a handicap room. NICE GOING!!
This is a great location, but the rate is ridiculous for what you get and the fact that there is ZERO soundproofing. You can literally hear everything in this hotel. If someone sneezes in the room next to you, you hear it. I know Winter Park is a hip, trendy place to visit, but I just can't justify paying the price we paid given just how much we heard throughout our stay.
so i only stayed here one day for work but i liked it. the hotel room was nice and clean. the bathroom was also nice and clean, i liked the little toiletries too. the bed was so comfortable, loved that it was king size and came with SIX pillows. thats usually unheard of lol. kind of sucks that the laundry is not actually a part of the hotel but i didn't mind the 5 minute walk, it was nice. sad that i didn't get to try the breakfast tho. overall, great hotel that i wouldn't mind staying at again.
A better than average Best Western lodging. Front staff was very helpful in helping us find our jeep ride outfit that we were booked for but couldn't find . Rooms very clean with a typical continental breakfast but not far was a breakfast house. Would stay there agin.
Very nice place to stay-would want to stay here again. Larger than average room, large refrigerator and microwave, clean, comfortable and quiet. Easy drive to restaurants and Rocky Mountain National Park.
We stayed at this Best Western for one night for a special local event. The rates were high for what we were getting (a two star hotel), but this is Winter Park after all. The rooms were acceptable and clean. They included in-room coffee (as usual, not that great), a fridge, and a microwave. Important to us, the WiFi in the hotel worked well - strong signal and plenty of bandwidth. We had one small problem with the bathroom which the front desk addressed in under a minute. I wasn't expecting much, but thought that the breakfast was surprisingly good for this type of hotel. Better than I expected. The coffee with breakfast was very good (when was the last time that happened?). The front area of the hotel is set aside for breakfast. Driving by it almost looks like a small restaurant at the front. The size of this was nice - no small over-crowded room to have breakfast in! Another nice surprise in the morning. The hot tub was hot and clean, located inside of a small, outdoor building behind the hotel. Our room was quiet. We all slept well. I was surprised by an extra $10 pet fee for our dog, but if you dig it is stated on their web site (just getting a pet friendly room didn't mean there's no additional charge). We did, however, accept a milkbone treat for our dog. All things considered, we will certainly consider staying here again the next time we're in Winter Park.
Spent a night while visiting the area . Staff was nice , room clean , bed a little uncomfortable but we had hiked a lot that day so it could be that . Breakfast was normal not exciting . Will stay again if in the area .
You have many options to stay along this stretch, but you will get great value here. Clean room, nice staff, decent breakfast. They have a hot tub but no pool, so people with kids please advise. They are located in an easy location, within walking to many shops and food.
Better than average chain motel experience. Room was clean & without odors. Bed good??firm mattress; decent linens. It was quiet; so much so that we slept through breakfast, which ends @ 9:30. But, the server was nice & allowed me to get a few pastries that were still out when I showed up 10 minutes late. They have dog treats available at the front desk for your fur baby.
We chose to stay here because this hotel allows dogs for a $10 pet fee. The price of the room for one night was also reasonable. From the outside the hotel appears a little shabby, but it's very nice inside. There is an inside corridor. The rooms are spacious. We had two queen beds that were comfortable. Hair dryer, refrigerator, flat-screen TV, all available. I think there was a microwave, but am not sure. The room was clean and mostly quiet. However, in the morning we could hear footsteps above us. A full breakfast was available in the lobby, including a waffle maker for fresh waffles. Check -in was efficient and courteous, but the receptionist could have been a little friendlier. The biggest negative is parking. When we returned after dinner, we had to park in the business next door as all the parking spots were filled.
First, we drove right by the Best Western, as we did not recognize the new Logo. It's on the northern side of the town. We had a two-bed room. Comfortable beds, and everything else in the room was fine as well. B'fast was the typical fare - waffles, some fruit, also OK. We'd booked for two nights, but needed to change that to one - no problem, as we gave them 24 hours. Friendly and gracious management.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. Lots of restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance. Next door is a place where you can rent mountain bikes. One thing to beware of is that this hotel is dog friendly so there are lots of rooms with dogs in them. One night I felt like I was at a dog convention. Also, if you have a ground floor room, you will hear lots of noise (foot traffic) from the overhead room. Not much sound insulation.. This place serves breakfast but it is pretty average. Scrambled eggs, bacon bits, oatmeal, yogurt.. Staff was friendly. I would say it is probably the best hotel in the area in terms of quality but you can find cheaper hotels nearby.
We stayed here for one night before a wedding. The personnel were great to our daughter who was traveling with a one year old. The allowed her to use a freezer for some breast milk she needed to keep cold. Also the food at breakfast was wonderful.
They had very quiet and comfortable beds. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good with lots of options including almond milk and a variety of teas. Would definitely recommend. Good location.
I've stayed here several times over the past several years. Always clean, pleasant staff and a good, hot breakfast. I had a special request for a handicap room and the desk clerk called me about 4 pm saying that he had just seen my request and was changing my room. Handicap rooms were not on the website, or at least I didn't see them.
The location was fabulous! Centrally located on the main strip of town. The hotel itself is very average, with outdated décor, and very thin walls and ceilings. Our group had traveled for several hours and we were having a beverage and visiting, and got a call from the people above us to ask us to be quiet. We should have been able to visit without disturbing anyone else. The price for the room was a bit much for the type of property it was, but I guess we paid for location. I wish they would have continued breakfast a bit later, since it was the weekend, and none of us really wanted to be up and dressed by 9AM
This is a great little find in Winter Park. The staff was nice, check-in was easy, nice comfortable beds -- simply no hassle. Add to that a nice breakfast and a very affordable price. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
It was a Great hotel in the heart of town. All of the amenities are included. they had the best hot chocolate available 24/7! The staff was great, customer oriented and very helpful. Would highly recommend!
Awesome breakfast that varied slightly from one day to the next. The staff was very friendly, even the ladies cleaning the room said hi as you passed them in the hallway. Front desk staff was able to give recommendations for places to eat and things to do. Room was very clean and beds and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and shower had good water temp and pressure. Hot tub was large enough to seat 6-8 people comfortably, and could fit more, if necessary. Every part of the hotel was well maintained, clean, and free of bad smells. THIS HOTEL HAS AIR CONDITIONING!!! AC is not so common in hotels/resorts in the mountains, but this one had a well running air conditioner that wasn't too loud. Close by and free parking was well appreciated. I would definitely stay here again.
This was a very good hotel experience. The staff went out of their way to help us with our needs. We were a larger group and I just want to say thank you. We will stay here again. The rooms are well equipped and were very clean. The breakfast was good and had a nice variety.
Selected this hotel based on reviews and the reviews were spot on. No regrets choosing this hotel. Would stay here again. Only minor issue is that the walls were thin and you could hear all conversations in the hallway outside your room.
very nice property to relax and slow down. Central location allows walking to most restaurants and many retail spots. Rooms are clean and location is quiet when it needs to be. Breakfast is more than adequate.
This Best Western is well situated to the town of Winter Park. The room was very nice, the bed really wonderful. When I asked for an extra blanket, I got one immediately. The lobby is small and the breakfast is served there, and that worked OK. The breakfast food was presented nicely, and was of good hotel quality. My overall experience is a resounding thumbs up.
My friends and I stayed here just 1 night because it was the closest, affordable room near RMNP. It was definitely way more than I would usually pay for this type of room (two queen beds and definitely not updated in a while), but it was 4th of July weekend and last minute, so I didn't have much of choice. The room was clean, the beds comfy, and the shower ran hot even though it made a funny noise. Breakfast was good and free. They had a good selection of hot and cold items that seemed fresh. There was limited parking, so make sure wherever you have to park is not going to be towed because a few other establishments share the parking lot. We just doubled checked with the hotel staff and that was that. The staff were very friendly, and we had no problem checking in late (after 8pm). They even saved us some money because the receptionist noticed we only had 3 instead of 4 people. That reduced our rate just a bit. Can't say I'm a huge fan of charging for more than 2 people especially since we were there for less than 12 hours, but that just seems to be the way things are going, unfortunately. The same lady helped us with a few things the next morning as well, so for customer service, this place was great! Average on everything else.
I was here fo four nights. My room was comfortable and I suspect recently updated. Like other hotels in this category the room was small, but I had a microwave and small fridge and a flat panel tv that worked well. My experience was that the place was pretty quiet, and the staff was cordial and welcoming. The free breakfast was good, though seating was not adequate. Parking is also tight. I'd stay here again.
We had a nice stay here. We stayed in a larger room with 2 queen murphy beds and a sofabed. The room was nice with extra space, but the room was right next to the office and right across from the ice machine so it was very noisy. The breakfast was okay, we appreciated that they had 3 waffle machines, so there were no lines waiting to make waffles. We didn't use the hot tub but it was stuck in a shed at the back of the hotel no nice views of scenery or anything.
We spent one night here and had a great experience. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and kept nice. Nothing fancy, but we were comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was the usual continental breakfast fare, but there were plenty of tables, a nice sunny room and food was well supplied.
This hotel is in a great location and pet friendly! The service upon check in and departure was fast and friendly. The breakfast was satisfying. The staff were friendly to my pet and made us feel welcome. Other pet friendly hotels have been less friendly.
Really good access and location for the town of Winter Park. On the route of the shuttle bus in winter time. Good size rooms with clean furnishings. The breakfast is basic but worth having but a mini supermarket is close.
We have stayed at many Best Western locations and this was not near as nice as others. We were charged extra for a mountain view (which we asked for) we were very disappointed. We expected more for the extra charge. It wasn't much of a view to be charged extra for. The room was clean, but the bathroom was in an odd location and way too many mirrors in there! The breakfast area was odd as well, it was located IN the lobby. People were walking through from checking out while we were eating, odd. The food was good a nice variety.
This Best Western provided a nice quick getaway even if it was a bit expensive. However, this hotel came in under cost for other hotel options in the area. Location was great right in heart of Winter Park and all staff was very friendly. Breakfast offered many options, but I would have liked more fresh fruit choices. Hotel was clean. Although we did not bring our dog, this is a pet friendly hotel. Love those. Complete with doggie treats at the front desk.
Great location within walking distance of everything we needed when not on excursions, extremely friendly and helpful staff at check-in during stay and at check-out, best complimentary breakfast yet this year, relaxing family vacation!
I found the Alpenglo Lodge to be up to the standards I would expect from a Best Western Hotel. It was neat and clean and quiet. The folks at the front desk when I checked in were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good for what I expect. My only thought was that it may be about time to replace beds? I thought it felt hard and "lumpy", but not awful. I would go back to this place.
This is a nice hotel that is centrally located to most attractions in Winterpark, Colorado. It is clean and comfortable and service is decent. WiFi is somewhat slow and there is only 1 ice machine on the property. Breakfast is good. Microwaves available in eating area. You need to use these to heat things as there are no microwaves(or refrigerators) in the rooms. I really like this hotel because it is easy walking distance to Jazz Festival venue.
Great 2 night stay within walking distance to most offerings in Winter Park for us. Enjoyed the fact that the windows in the rooms open to enjoy the mountain night breezes and breakfast was a nice bonus. We were pleased and booked for next year!
I was a little uncertain about this hotel because they have designated pet friendly rooms that apparently hadn't been updated along with the rest of the motel...however, the room was still very nice and clean, although somewhat small for three adults and a child. The bathroom is dinky! Not much room for your toiletries, but there were towel bars and a small glass shelf next to the vanity/sink. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The parking area is pretty small...although you can park towards the back of the motel and enter through the back door, not sure how good that would be in the winter. There was a fridge in the room, no microwave, and a fairly large good flat screen tv. The breakfast area is basically part of the lobby and you enter through there from the parking lot...a little awkward, especially with a dog. The breakfast was well stocked and had the average sausage, eggs, cereals and three waffle makers. The arrangement of the serving area was a little tight, especially around the waffle makers when people hang there and don't move! Many restaurants and shops are within walking distance from the motel. All in all we would definitely return, great value for the price.
We were coming from the south and continuing north but wanted to travel through the Rocky MT Park, and this Best Western in Winter Park was perfect. Nice clean and comfortable. With lots of options for food close by. We tried the BBQ place right across the street and it was really good! Good breakfast with eggs and waffles. Nothing really to complain about here. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Winter Park.
Small and smart hotel in the town Center of Winter Park, close to shopping and restaurants. Spent here two nights in a king room where everything was looked after with precision. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was perfectly clean, with high quality towels and complimentary items. Breakfast goes directly in the lobby, with good coffee and juices, fine toast bread and yogurt. unfortunately staff was not so smart in renewing food and pancake mix, even after many requests of clients. there was no people with a uniform so it was impossible to identify staff members, that spent time playing at the computer instead of working at breakfast and clean the tables. So we had to do all by ourselves and wait a lot for toast bread and other food. Needs improvement.
I went with my family and enjoyed my time. The location is terrific since it is in the middle of town. The rooms were nice but the hotel looked dated. I would first look at the Holiday Inn(if the rates are the same, I would stay at the Holiday Inn). My room never fully locked. The door would look shut but was not actually closed. I did tell two different employees. I was not upset it was not fixed while I was there since the hotel felt safe. I am sure it will be fixed in the near future. Despite the fact the hotel looked dated, I would come back again.
Staff is very friendly and the hotel is nice. This is good hotel to stay out when you are visiting Winter Park. It is close to downtown but yet far enough away that you do get disturbed by its traffic (people). I would of gave it 5 stars but the walls are kind of thin and I could hear almost everything that was going on above, in the rooms next to me and out in the hallway.
Felt uncomfortable the minute we walked into hotel. Booked room and got room right above lobby. Easy to go to breakfast but husband slept and I did not. Breakfast fine but felt like we were being watched. Caused me to put raw pancake bater on finished waffles and decaf coffee into my oatmeal. Ate both anyways and left right after breakfast. Next Best Western we stayed at in Louisvlle, Co rolled out the red carpet for us and made up for this bad experience. Overall I would not go to Winter Park, Co unless I rented a condo.
Good Folks and professional staff, clean rooms and updated rooms. Very nice stay and worthy coming back anytime!!! Breakfast was hot and fresh, and constantly being refreshed for their customers. Beautiful location and will come back again!!!
We spend two nights here. Our room was very clean but not that big. No microwave and/or fridge in the room. Breakfast is not very good, not much to choose from and besides that, they were out of waffle dough. I think there are nicer places out there in Winter Park. But prices are good, you get what you pay for.
I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in the winter park area. This was my first stay with a best western hotel before and I was a bit apprehensive about it. But I was throughly impressed. Our room was very clean and in a great area. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast every morning.
This was a great deal for the price. Rooms were spacious and provided a refrigerator and breakfast included. It is centrally located and very clean. Staff were all very friendly and I would definitely stay there again.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are decent and very clean, the staff is friendly and the price is great. The best part was the free breakfast. They offer a great variety. I had a plate full of delicious eggs, bacon, self-made waffle, and yogurt every morning!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and well maintained. Would stay here again. Our stay was short, but location was easy to navigate from and was on the main highway through town.
The hotel suffices for an overnight stay. The room was clean, with all basic amenities. Reception was a bit cold though and some staff even gave a hostile vibe, same for some people hanging around the hotel. Parking is a bit limited. Nevertheless, for one night this is no issue. I would not recommend the breakfast, have a strong coffee further down the road.
The staff was extremely friendly, the rooms were clean, roomy, and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. The whole place was very clean and beautiful. Recommend staying at this hotel! Easy parking and very central to downtown.
My wife & I stayed here on our way into Rocky Mountain NP. This was convenient, comfortable and welcoming. As with most BW hotels, a breakfast is included and this set us up for the day. Rooms & beds are both a good size and ensured a good sleep. Front desk was great - the padlock on my wife's suitcase had broken - but locked - some tools were found and I managed to get the lock off; they also provided a good recommendation for dinner.
New feeling rooms. Equipped with mini fridge and microwave. Located right downtown, easy walk to several different restaurants. The hotels complimentary breakfast was good, self-make waffles, eggs, sausage, breads, yogurts and cereal. The evening and morning desk staff was very friendly and helpful. You can easily catch the ski shuttle to the resort. Just a few steps. Hot tub could use some work.
We stayed at this hotel on 4/30 and really enjoyed our stay. Comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, clean rooms and lobby area, good Internet speed, and it's in a great location. Overall - very good value.
We have stayed here a couple of times, and it is our favorite hotel in town. Updated rooms, excellent beds, diverse free breakfast, friendly staff, and right across the street from the ski bus stop (and very close to a number of restaurants). The price is all over the place, so it pays to check frequently. Only negative thing is the walls are not very soundproof.
Local family told us this is the best place to stay -- the location was perfect for skiing at WinterPark (only 5 mins away) and equally perfect for apres-ski activities in town and visiting family. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful beyond measure. Our room was clean and spacious enough for our needs. Breakfast was good enough to fuel us through the day. Overall, it was a great value across the board and we'll stay there again when we go back.
nice hotel wish they would upgrade the hut tub room.. Cant say enough about the staff all good people..the location is great .. Everything is walkable and to get the resort the shuttle system is very workable
Family like atmosphere and great service for modest size Hotel - parking could be a challenge but they seem to work it our and the adjacent property is owned by the Hotel family so all was good! Great views to the South and easy walking to many other activities. Look forward to going back in June 2016 as well. Twice a year every year would be great!
Stayed here with a party of wheelchair users, some of which had greater needs than I, so stayed in a standard room rather than an accessible one. Beds where comfy, more than enough room to manoeuvre around the room in my wheelchair, bathroom was fit for purpose, staff where friendly and helpful. Great place to rest the achey bones after a day on the slopes! The free hot chocolate in the lobby and the hot tub where great touches.
We have received very good service by the staff. The hotel is old and bare essentials. You can hear other guests walking by. We had a nice view. Pricey for a 3 star place. Very decent breakfast. Parking is a challenge.
This is an older Best Western, but it seems to have had a recent remodel. The rooms were very nice with very comfortable beds. The furniture was updated and the bathroom was very nice and clean. The staff was friendly and the lobby was clean. The breakfast was above average. I would certainly stay here again.
The hotel is perfectly located, you can walk to restaurants and shops, they are all around. The room is fantastic, comfortable bed, full bathroom, everything very clean and neat. Breakfast was very complete, a good start for a skiing day. Staff was helpful. Parking and wifi are free, as well as breakfast. I would go back and recommend this hotel. Oh! The hot tub was awesome!!!
Spend one night (1 Mar) only to snowboard Winter Park the next day. Flight delayed, finally arriving Denver 8PM with a late check in. Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was clean and comfortable, very nice room for the price but dated. Internet incl. Rentals next door with 20% off was awesome. Breakfast variety was great. Winter Park shuttle right across the street worked well. Stayed here last Feb 2015, returned for their great service.
Spotless, well-maintained room. Friendly staff. Well-stocked breakfast (except for eggs - watery and probably powdered?). Only issue was hot tub closed for repairs. Great place for $. Great low budget weekend. Skate skied at Devil's Thumb. Dinner at Opa's Gyros.
From check in to check out, staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable, very nice room for the price. Having ski rental next door was very convenient. Breakfast variety was excellent. Winter Park shuttle across the street worked well. Free internet was a bonus.
We stayed here for our ski trip at Winter Park. It was very close to the resort. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was not gourmet but allowed us to have a hearty breakfast before skiing all day. The heater in the room was quiet and efficient despite it being below zero outside. We rented our equipment from the place right next door and ate dinner across the street. All considered it was a good price for a nice, clean and conveniently located hotel.
First of all, I think a lot of reviews start out on the negative aspects, my take on this motel, is that its excellent for a stay of few nights, If this is your "dream" vacation, look elsewhere. Pros. ..spotlessly clean, great beds, great showers, and probably the best motel breakfast ever, Coffee was good, and overall selection and quality was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful.. Shuttle to Winter Park ski area, stops across the street, and is probably better than paying for parking at the ski area as the walk to lifts can be a pain.. You can transfer from the bus when you get to the resort area, to the Blue Willycab (also free) which takes you to about 40 yds from the main lifts. The only negative of the motel, as that the walls are a bit thin and sound travels.. but it didn't bother me at all.
had a great time staying at this Hotel. was in great location and very clean quiet and cozy.was a friendly staff and helpful for information. had a free breakfast that was nice to enjoy if you wanted too, would recommend staying there if you want a home kinda feeling.was very comfortable.
Good value for money, pet friendly, family friendly - lots of skiers. Breakfast included and is actually not bad. Walls are thin so when kids run down hall in ski boots,it's very noticeable, particularly when parents yell at them at 7 am. However, staff and guests friendly and generally helpful. Shuttle stop right next door and across street to Winter Park, centrally located, 15 minutes most by shuttle to base. Walk-able to good restaurants, reasonably close to Foundry Pizza Cinema. I'd definitely stay again but probably bring my ear plugs for early family skiers!
It's a clean, basic hotel. Hot tub lukewarm and in a weird offsite room with a snow covered path outside. Food was two star breakfast. Room was okay. Cleaning staff is good. Front desk staff was helpful, pleasant. Decent value. I wouldn't be rushing back... Will probably go to a condo next time. Nice size fridge and a microwave. Heater a little temperamental but it's an old hotel. Get what you pay for.
For the price and location you cannot beat it. The free breakfast is better than most continental I've experienced. Location is right in the heart of Winter Park and there is plenty of restaurants and activities right outside the door.
TA has never steered me wrong but this one is a total miss. Everything about this motel is outdated and marginally average. The bed and linens were adequate and the room was clean. they offered me express check out when I arrived, but it was not available at check out! After a full day of skiing, all I wanted was a good night's sleep. Impossible! The heater keep clicking and turning on with a roaring blast every 45 minutes. I even tried ear plugs. I tried turning it low, still keep cycling off and on. It would not turn off completely. Unless you sleep like the dead, I would warn you to stay somewhere else. Definitely a disappointing 2 night stay. I paid $124 for each night. Usually I stay at the Winter Park Lodge (same price range) which at least has a heating system which allows you to sleep through the night.
We really enjoyed our two night stay at the Best Western. The rooms were very nice. The beds were comfortable. The bed linens were cozy. We were on the second floor so there was some noise from the people above us. There is a nice breakfast served in the lobby each morning. The only small disappointment was that the hot tub was in a small building outside the motel. I was hoping it would be inside because it is a bit chilly going back into the motel in the middle of winter!
There was nothing to complain about, but there was nothing that was outstanding either. For a ski town, the price per night was ok, but the property felt a bit dated and run down for the price. Overall, it was clean and the experience was not bad. It served its purpose.
We usually get a condo to ski at Winter Park, but decided to try the Best Western for value and to get points. The hotel is very well maintained hotel, if not understated. The staff was well informed, helpful, and VERY friendly. We originally booked a King Bed room, but upon arrival they suggested we move to a different floor with 2 queen beds because of carpet replacement, not a big deal. However, being it just me and my wife and ski gear the King Bed would have been better. The only real complaint I would have is they don't provide a very good place to store your ski gear. We ended up storing our gear near the door in the coat rack, but felt bad about storing the boots on the new carpeting.
The front desk does not go out of their way for friendliness or great service. We struggled to get the luggage cart in the main entrance only to see that had we used the doors on the other side, it would have been much easier. Was sent to wrong room (it happens, but lots of stuff like this happened to us on this stay). Two housekeepers watched as I struggled with the doors upon departure with the luggage cart and garbage bags piled up by the doors as they attended to their duties. Lots of hallway noise in the middle of the night. Beds, okay. Great location, near where we wanted to go. Refrigerator in room makes a LOUD buzzing noise sporadically through the night - ugh. We won't be back.
Bob at the front desk was a lifesaver.....overall it was a satisfactory stay, breakfast was fine, other guests smoking marijuana was horrid, but staff seemed to take care of it. Bed was comfy, room was clean, locationwas handy, obviously one of the nicer places to stay, besides the swanky resorts right on the slope.
Close to down town and shuttle to mountain located right across the street. Hot tub was cleaned twice during our 4 night stay. Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful with restraint recommendations. Allowed to check in early in the morning and given breakfast at no cost. Excellent hospitality.
The ski shuttle picks up on the :15 and :45 right across the street. It takes exactly 15 minutes to get to the Winter Park base. Couldn't drive there faster, even pay parking. The hotel has your standard generic breakfast of pastries, cereal, coffee, juice, pre-formed omelettes and sausage, waffles. You've definitely had this breakfast before. But it will get you out the door quick. Rooms decent, very comfortable beds, reasonably quiet, and nice staff.
During our repeated stays at this property, we have always encountered cordial staff that provide all guests with a great room value in a hospitable manner. The rooms are very clean and have a fresh decor. The location of the property is very convenient to nearby restaurants, a local bus route and assorted mountainous activities.
This hotel works great for skiing! Staff is friendly and efficient. Room, check in and breakfast area were very clean. Beds were comfortable and warm. Staff was friendly. Hot tub was working and relaxing. Staff did a great job with continental breakfast. They kept fresh food out and drink machines filled.
My wife and I stayed here for three nights for a ski weekend. This hotel was perfect for us. The location couldn't have been better. We rented skis from the store right next door, and the bus stop was right across the street from the hotel. Take the bus to go skiing. It's super easy and you won't have to mess with paying to park at the mountain. The hotel is in the middle of town so you can walk to any dinner place. We walked to Hernandos and had amazing pizza and beer one night and then went to the some other local places the next night. The breakfast in the morning was good, pretty average for hotels. Nothing fancy, but it was free so thats good. The hot tub was also really nice after skiing. It's in a separate building in the back and could definitely be hotter, but it was still nice to relax in. The room was good. Average for a Best Western, but the beds were very comfy and there was plenty of room for all our ski gear and clothes. I'd recommend this place for those looking for a place to stay for a ski weekend in town.
Great location. Clean and very friendly staff. Option of late check out at no extra charge and complimentary breakfast was great. Free shuttle to mountain and pick-up drop-off was right outside hotel.
I really have no complaints. We stayed December 20-24. I guess it depends on what side of the hotel you're on, but we had a view of mountains. Yes, there was a business right next door, but that's really nothing to complain about. I can't imagine the other side having a bad view. For the people who bring shower shoes (I am one of those), I didn't feel the need to wear them. The bathroom was very clean and the water drained quickly. The room was very nice and clean. It has a microwave and refrigerator, which was very helpful. The front desk staff were super awesome, as well! Bob was great! Oh- the continental breakfast was very good! Waffles, eggs, sausage or bacon, cereal, oatmeal, organic yogurt w/ toppings, and several varieties of milk - for the lactose free people. As you can see, we would highly recommend this hotel!
From check in to overnight stay this is a very well kept hotel. The staff is so friendly and accommodating that you would think your at a 5star diamond resort. Rooms and beds are comfortable. They except dogs but only a limited amount of rooms. Love the no smoking policy.
Good location, have few decent restaurants around the hotel... the breakfast was ok. The carpet was old, but the bed and bathroom was clean. Limited parking space. free shuttle stops right across street from the hotel.
We were having carpeting put down in our house 45 minutes away from Winter Park and needed a place to stay for a night. We chose Winter Park as it is a great place to visit! I went on line and found the Best Western Alpenglo Lodge. Everything was GREAT! The room was small, #306, but very nicely decorated, and had everything you needed! It was VERY clean and comfortable! The bed, King size, was VERY comfortable and we slept very well! The breakfast in the morning was the nicest we've ever had at a Best Western. You couldn't leave breakfast hungry! We would stay there again if we were in Winter Park! The staff was Excellent!
Nice and cozy, quiet, close to everything for shopping and dining to match any budget. Free breakfest, can't be any closer to the free WP shuttle, has that mountain/rustic feel to it. Highly recommend and will stay again next time up in Winter Park. Friendly staff, clean rooms.
Wonderful place, friendly staff and we will be staying here again. Bob went out of his way to accomodate us for early check in and also give us another room than reserved to allow us to possibly stay another night and not have to change rooms, which we did just that. The hot tub is wonderful. The location is perfect as the bus picks you up right across the street to take you to Winter Park every 30 minutes
We are very happy with our stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub after skiing each night. The breakfast spread was better than usual also (Greek joghurt, almond milk, great coffee). The hotel is very close to the Base Village of Winterpark. You can even take the bus which stops right across the street. We also enjoyed dinners in walking distance from the hotel. We will totally stay here again when we come to Winterpark next!
We picked the hotel to allow us an early start into the RMNP and it was a really good pick. Reception was excellent and although the hotel is dated and rather old fashioned, the rooms were clean provided a pleasant place to stay - so much so that we decided to make use of facilities and eat in. Excellent value for money
This hotel is very clean, and great breakfast served. Located in town, with excellent location. Close to numerous restaurants and shopping. This hotel has excellent front desk staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Very clean, and good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Quiet. In town, good location. Very nice staff at front desk. TV by one bed, so I could watch TV comfortably while hubby slept. Breakfast good for those who are gluten free. Good options.
This in-town hotel rates well except for parking. It is close to several restaurants, shopping, entertainment. The doggie area is small but serves its purpose. The hot tub is in a separate building so you freeze getting back to the hotel on chilly days/nights. Our second day the breakfast bar had run out of milk and yogurt. When pastries and bread were gone they did not replenish. The coffee was instant with an aftertaste. But we went there for sleeping, not eating.
We normally like to stay at bed & breakfasts or boutique hotels and the like, but this Best Western is hard to beat. The front desk staff was wonderful, breakfast good, and location is perfect. Great place to stay in Winter Park. Close to the tubing and the resort. Walking distance from lots of restaurants. Hot tub a bit small, but nice after a long day of skiing. Will definitely stay here again.
Awesome hotel in Winter Park. Great location in town, staff is excellent, breakfast great, room superb, and check-in top-notch. A must if staying in the area or passing through. A Best Western on top of their game.
This was our 2nd time staying here. I spent hours looking at all the other options in the area and after reading all the bad reviews about how run down and outdated every other place was we picked this hotel again and glad we did. Plus they accept pets which is an issue we have. Their breakfast is perfect and offers lots of items!
Friendly staff along with clean and comfortable room. We were passing through on our way to Steamboat Springs. This was only a one night stay and when we arrived the young lady at the desk was very personable which is a big plus for us. The rooms were not spacious but were clean, comfortable and everything was in working order. We would definitely stay here again
Was expecting to get lodging in Grand Lake but was not expecting how busy it was during our vacation in October! We were recommended this hotel from Holiday Inn Express, Thank you! It was a great location, Very clean rooms, quiet (even though there was a was a bus touring the fall color.) Wonderful breakfast. Great staff! Don't pass up this hotel!
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I did not hear any outside sounds to keep me from sleeping. The breakfast had a good selection, and was very good. Staff kept it well stocked. The front desk was very helpful.
Well situated on main street. Clean. Only major shortcoming was lack of suitable breakfast entries for my traveling companion who was visiting from the Middle East and is a Muslim. No eggs, but pork sausage.
After our previous experience with Best Western, we expected more. We had to take a two queen room instead of a room with one bed. The room was small and not very well laid out. It was difficult for two people to move around without running into each other, I don't see how 4 people could manage. We could hear other guests coming and going, noise carried easily from the hallway to our room, as was the traffic noise from the restaurants and bar next door. Breakfast was just OK, the selection was very limited.
Excellent customer service, comfortable room & lots a nearby shops, restaurants & activities. The welcoming staff at the front desk was excellent & had great tips for places to eat. Everything was handled professionally & quickly. Our room was comfortable & clean.
This hotel provides an excellent value for the cost. It is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is ample and tasty. Staff are pleasant. The room was a little small, but sufficient. The sink/mirror was with the toilet and shower (as opposed to being separated by a door), so not as accessible with 4 in a room, getting ready to attend a wedding.
