My family stayed at this hotel to look for apartments for my child who is moving to Charleston. Pros: Even though a small hotel, this Best Western was very clean and comfortable. Excellent, friendly staff and good, standard breakfast buffet. Housekeeping provided every day, which is rare nowadays! Felt very safe (staff took precautions seriously, such as keeping side door locked at night), and even though we didn't use the pool, it looked clean and refreshing! Good water pressure in bathroom. Cons: A/C was very loud, which was a little bothersome while trying to sleep, the refrigerator kept making popping sounds every so often, and a noise from the pipes made it seem like someone in another room was taking a shower all night, every night. The soda machine was sold out of water bottles. Still, we would stay here again if needed.
The room was pretty clean, although there were some areas that could use touch-ups. The bed was VERY firm, and the pillows were very clumpy and uncomfortable. Each day of our stay, we put the "please make up our room" hang tag on our door. Every time we would come back to the room, the hang tag would be flipped around to the "do nto disturb" side, like housekeeping had flipped the sign and serviced the room, however upon entering the room every time, nothing was done... Seems like someone was just trying to get out of working. We had to go to the front desk multiple times to get things we needed such as new towels.
Great hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and made feel right at home there.
The room was ok and it was clean. My issue was someone kept trying to open the door. And then I'm up at 6am feeding the baby and someone knocked on the door. Never said housekeeping or anything . Luckily we are here with the man of the house. Be safe out there
Unfortunately this was just not a good experience. There were silverfish in the bathroom, stains on the ceiling, and the was like lying on plywood.
I had previously been staying near Trident Hospital in Charleston SC due to a family member in ICU for over 30 days. The rooms were all full one night and I decided to stay over due to his conditions. I found a room at the Best Western and the manager was on duty at the front desk, and see was awesome!!! Very polite and helped with a medical discount for the room, and she let me know about the promotions at the hotel The next two days, she even asked about my family member and his conditions. The front desk was very professional, warm, and caring. Also, the breakfast person was very polite and helpful.
My wife and I stayed here 3 nights from March 14-17, 2024, and were pleasantly surprised for our first time staying at this hotel, will definitely return in the future. The hotel and room were clean and updated with modern in-room appliances (microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker) and furniture which all appeared to be brand new, room was spacious and comfortable, slept well, location was great and close to lots of dining and shopping, breakfast was good and provided a variety of hot and cold options including grits and sausage gravy which we liked. The refrigerator in our room (106) got extremely cold and had to be set on 1 (lowest setting) to prevent drinks from freezing, but would rather have that than a refrigerator that doesn't keep items cold.
This hotel appears to be nearly new. So the rooms and fixtures are in perfect condition. Employees are helpful and cheerful— well trained— the rate is affordable, especially in light of clean and spacious rooms. 5 stars.
This BW was very convenient to the freeway and about 20 min north of the airport. We stayed here instead of the airport location because they offered a room with a jacuzzi tub in the room. Friendly service from everyone and the hot breakfast was exceptional for a BW. They not only offered grits (a first for any BW I've stayed in before) but they had a menu of all breakfast items listed in the dining room. Would definitely stay again!
Nice hotel and professional staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate and good. Was a little difficult getting to the hotel because of the Carolina Fair traffic but should be easy access other times of the year. Would stay here again if I were in the area.
Top honors to Magnolia Inn, I absolutely loved our stay. Everyone that works there had a smile and a welcome. The check in desk was super nice. She helped us find the perfect room. Loved talking with her. So friendly. The maids go all out, it's by far the cleanest hotel. Fresh linens everyday. Great breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs and gravy. Lots more items. Great coffee. The maintenance man was always working and he was fun to visit with. Wish him our best. Paula, the manager, is dedicated to making this hotel The Best. Plan to go back next year.
This hotel is very clean and comfortable. It's an old hotel that has been newly renovated. Conveniently located off the highway for easy access to everywhere. The Staff are truly fantastic! So friendly, helpful and accommodating. Will be back again and again!
Very nice place to stay while traveling to South Carolina. Highly recommend the surrounding area and the amenities this hotel offers. The staff was very attentive to our needs and the breakfast area was loaded with many fresh nutritious items. Rooms were very clean, and all the appliances were in working order.
I was quite satisfied overall and I'm quite hard to please in this situation. Facility was clean and pleasant and I never see this anymore so it was very welcome. Breakfast was terrific 3 days in a row with fresh fruit and dining area was kept clean during our meal.
Will be back as I am a returning customer already. Highly recommend, I've had 0 complaints, I'm Sure you won't either. The location is ideal due to by the interstate, easy access to Summerville and downtown or anywhere with that convenient location.
Excellent Hotel, I was here in 2016 and so impressed that I came back again with some friends. Breakfast is good, hotel is clean, staff is excellent. Paula, Brett, and the rest of the front desk, breakfast and housekeeping staff are awesome. Hope to be back soon.
Great location for both business and leisure. Well maintained and appointed mid-price facility with a great rewards program. Complimentary breakfast is well stocked and fresh. Unique sheltered outdoor pool. My #1 choice for visits to Charleston.
Clean, good breakfast, friendly staff, unfortunately construction going on next to prperty, stay in front rooms, 3rd floor best, updated room, bath, good TV on swivel mount in king sweet, lots of lighting, AC control good and room smelled clean! That's a big plus, good lighting in parking lot.
We wanted to have a quick look at Charleston on our way home. This turned out to be an ideal hotel. It had easy access to both Charleston and Interstate 95. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast both hot and cold was plentiful and well stocked. Lots of room to sit. We will stay here again when we come back to visit Charleston for a longer visit.
This hotel is always a pleasure to stay at. From the young lady, Janet, with a fast check in, to the spotless room & comfortable bed and great breakfast selections, I'd give this hotel and its staff 10 stars
The deep cleaning I witnessed was phenomenal. Going as far as to remove mattress/box spring from frame to clean underneath. There should be an air machine that n each floor. Only 3 floors. You could put one on the 2nd floor too. Also they need to replace towels
The room was very clean and spacious . The bed was to firm for our liking . We quickly grabbed breakfast at the breakfast bar everything was freshly made. The bedding was very clean . Plenty of towels and supplies incase we didn't have any .
Friendly and helpful staff. Went out of her way to make sure we understood where the surgery center was located and best route to travel. She informed us about the continental breakfast and if we wanted to come back after surgery to get breakfast, we were welcome. Breakfast served until 11. I think that was correct time the kind lady said.
I was a little hesitant to stay here as I've had bad experiences at best western in the past. But everything was great with this stay! The room was clean. Every employee I encountered was extremely nice and helpful! The only complaint I had was the noise level. But the location. Is right next to the interstate. Not complaining at all. Just stating a fact. If you're looking to sleep with no background noise, this hotel is not for you. But if you don't mind the noise this hotel is perfect! I personally sleep with music or the TV on anyway, so the little bit didn't bother me. I definitely suggest this hotel for your next trip!
We stayed for 1 night and the staff was wonderful, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was great! The only other request I would like to see was more fresh fruit and grape jelly/jam. :) lol. The lady with the breakfast was very courteous . We will be back again.
This hotel worked with us when we had a problem with a different hotel. The stay was excellent, the management was wonderful, and the hotel was very nice. Their breakfast was stocked and warm. I would recommend this property and stay again in the future.
The rooms were very clean. Staff was friendly and courteous. There was a very strong floral scent in the room that just didn't go away but it wasn't horrible so I didn't say anything. The breakfast was super tasty! I would stay there again in the future.
We stayed for one night in early July, 2022. We arrived early (1:15), and our room was not ready, but the front desk person gave us another room so we could move in and get on with our day. She also let us leave our things we were carrying on the back for added safety--although the location seemed very safe. The room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here, again.
A great location for a quick trip to Summerville or Charleston. 30 minutes to the beach. Staff were super nice, hotel was clean, price was really on point. Not sure what else you could want. Probably one of the better Best Westerns in the US. Would stay again.
The WHOLE staff, from Paula, Janet, Makayla, Pam and everyone was willing to help with everything we needed. Will definitely be back and make sure we tell everyone to stay here. We stayed here for seven days and would not change anything!
Just a very pleasant experience at Best Western Inn Magnolia Inn, Oh ya clean rooms and great breakfast, friendly staff with knowledge of area and things to do, will diffidently go back, Thank You again
This was a clean and comfortable “no frills” hotel. The breakfast was the typical “Make your own waffles“, scrambled eggs and sausage, Plus continental breakfast items, etc.. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was friendly.
My wife and I only needed one night. Expecting just the usual hotel stay we were surprised from check in as talking to the manager and a young lady (just 2 months working there) felt like I'd known them years instead of seconds. Gotten checked in and headed to our room. Had a problem with my first key and a cleaning lady was in the room across the hall and she helped us right away. My wife has a back issue so we needed a room with a chair and ottoman and they had us in a different room right away with one phone call. When the elevator door opened to the first floor the manager is standing there to exchange room keys so we don't even leave the elevator. Both rooms were impressively clean. The breakfast was delicious (recommend the waffles). TIP: talk to the breakfast lady, she is super awesome and loves her job. Has to be one of the best (if not the best) hotel stay that I have ever had.
We have traveled alot over the years and basically stay at Best Western's when we can. This Best Western was very impressive. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the desk clerks who were very friendly. To housekeeping inquiring if I needed anything while waiting to ask a question at the front desk, to the breakfast bar attendant friendly chat, to even maintenance staff greeting us. By far the friendliest staff we have ever encountered at a BW. To add to that, I always carry lysol and lysol wipes to clean for myself at any location we stay. Not only did our room smell sanitized when we walked in - it looked it too! Looked almost brand new. And when I did my typical cleaning including the filters in the HVAC - they were spotless ---once again, so very impressed with this BW We choose this BW due to it's location near the cruise port in Charleston. We preferred not staying in Charleston and this BW is only a 20 minute drive in good traffic getting to the port. IF anything negative, and it has no reflection on the staff - when the hotel was built, sound proofing wasn't done well, you can hear the traffic from the interstate as well as other rooms - again - beyond the control of staff and management. The cleanliness and friendliness made up for the sounds. IF we cruise again out of Charleston, I feel sure we will lodge here again - it's simply that great!
Needed a reasonably priced room on a Saturday night. Even though this location was rated 2 stars it exceeded the quality of some recent 3 star stays. Pleasant desk staff; I was staying alone while my husband was having a sleep study and felt completely safe. I had to leave before breakfast was served.. I got wi fi on my phone but had difficulty with my laptop. I didn't find the work-around information until I was checking out
Would definitely stay here again. The staff upon arrival were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the complementary breakfast was good. A nice variety of choices.
Almost everything was gone when we came downstairs for breakfast at 8:30am. There were two beds in our room, one was broken and the other was so uncomfortable that we tossed all night. The staff was extremely friendly and our room was clean and quiet
The Best Western Magnolia Inn and Suites in Ladson SC. They treated us so nicely and kind. The rooms were clean, didnt get the opportunity to checkout the breakfast, gym or pool. Big out to Paula Jones ( General Manager) and Janet Webb (front desk manager) for awesome customer service. My partner and I will be back.
By far the best stay ever. Both desk managers were terrific. Both went above and beyond do make my stay very comfortable. A great breakfast every morning with plenty of choices from eggs, waffles to cereal and juice plus much more. Room was clean and comfortable as was the entire property. The entire staff were great. Would definitely stay there again, hands down. I highly recommend staying here.
Great location, very clean, soft towels, quiet a/c, comfortable bed, and friendly staff. Good water pressure, spacious room with tv, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer, and very little noise from outside. Thumbs up!
As a teacher, I enjoy the occasional weekend retreat. The hotel is located 2 miles from the Church were friends are attending. The breakfast had more choices for celiacs (meat, eggs, rice chex, yogurt, and fruit). Mom was impressed and will want to return in the summer to test the pool.
Best Western Magnolia Inn And Suites on Treeland Drive in Ladson is a quality place to stay for a good value when you are in the area. The location is very convenient and easy to access from the interstate. The staff here is very responsive and makes everything pleasant. Good experience here.
I needed to come to Charleston for a birthday party last minute. The accommodations were just what I needed for my short stay. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was satisfying. I was really pleased with my trip.
Great location for our need and found it to be a great place to stay. The front desk clerk(Janet) was very professional friendly and welcoming. She was also on the counter at checkout with the same friendly smile and attitude. All making for a great place to stay
In area for show which was close by so location was excellent. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast was excellent, hot and good selection. Very clean, would highly recommend to everyone needing to stay in the area.
Friendly staff, clean , comfortable, central location. I stay here several times a year on my visits to see family. I have recommended this Best Western to anyone going to Charleston. Will be staying here in the future.
Select rooms toward the back for a quieter night. Check-in was friendly and helpful. The coffeemaker in the breakfast room only worked 1 of the 2 mornings I was there. Overall, the staff keeps the place clean.
The Management and Staff are the very best. They make sure the needs of the customer are the most important to them. The location is great, we were able to get in and out. I was very impressed with the Senior Management, General Manager. We are a non-profit ministry team and she really made sure our needs were met. Great Job
I was very impressed with this property! Very Clean, warm and comfortable. Great price for what I received. The employees were outstanding, Janet, Joslyn, Lisa, and Deborah are great employees. Housekeeping was outstanding. Rooms were very comfortable.
Our room was very clean. Hotel was clean. Only stayed one night, but this would be a hotel I feel comfortable staying more than one night in. I have been to several BWs across the country, and this one is one of the nicer ones.
List reservation, lucky had proof of in phone, even with that had issues, the young ladies had not have a clue how to handle, did not care. After meeting with manager, she reassured taken care if. Oh and was cbarged 2 times.
Even though this hotel is right at the interstate, it is very quiet. We never heard the noise of the traffic. It is also very clean. The carpet in the rooms had been shampooed that day and it appeared that they shampooed carpets frequently. Everything except the pool area was well maintained. That was the only disappointment we had with our stay.
This Best Western has great ratings for a reason. The staff is super friendly, the facility is maintained regularly, and it is very safe. It is also convenient in terms of location to the interstate as well as location to major city hubs and government/contractor facilities.
We stayed here for 2 nights. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. Hotel located close to highway, making it easy to get to the main road leading towards Charleston. It's located within 1-2 miles of grocery stores, fast food, bars, shopping plaza, etc. all the regular small town amenities. The only thing I did not like was that we had to bring our dirty towels down to the front desk to exchange for clean ones. Also had to visit front desk to get linens for the sofa bed. Hot breakfast was good, and the woman who worked that area was friendly and kept everything replenished. In comparison to the price if hotels in the city of Charleston, this place was good priced, and worth the driving the distance outside of the city.
We were looking for a less expensive way to visit Charleston. We found this Best Western and were happy with the price. The staff was truly amazing. I have never had more friendly interactions - on the phone, at the front desk, or getting breakfast. Rooms were comfortable and clean but the staff really stood out!
Very disappointed! Room did not get cleaned every day if spending more than 1 day. I was told it is because of Covid. Garbage did not get picked up and no fresh towels every day either. No water bottle in room and no machine in hall way available to buy water bottles. Breakfast needed a lot of improvement with hardly any choices. Waited 35 minutes before someone appeared to serve breakfast. Some people tired of waiting, went behind the counter and served themselves. Front desk clerk did not have the password for use of the computer in the computer room. No info or flyers regarding Historic Charleston were available at the front desk for sightseeing purpose. My rating to this hotel is less than average. Room was clean when we checked in and clerks at the front desk were very welcoming and exceptionally helpful. Those were the only pluses that I can think off. I would definitely not recommend this hotel.
We stayed in this location for 1 night instead of staying in Charleston. The room was clean, the bathroom was free from mildew or mold and the water had great pressure. The buffet breakfast was available on the weekends as of July 2021 and featured waffles, fruit, cereal, eggs etc. I would recommend this location. The front desk staff was also very nice.
Wifi did not work, room smelled like smoke, air conditioner loud and leaked water into carpet. Definitely not worth the money we paid. Will try something else next time. Breakfast good and staff very friendly.
The property website looks good as well the physical outside of the building, but that's as far as it goes. Front desk wasn't very welcoming. I had to switch rooms because the first one was dirty and smelled like marijuana. The front seat guy acted as though it wasn't that big of a deal. I tried to notify management and she acted as though she was doing me a favor to listen to me. Very dismissive attitude. The breakfast is just a brown paper bag at the front desk. More like a breakfast snack than a breakfast. Even after checking out early, they kept the money for additional day. Most importantly, don't forget to read the fine print. They will ask you for an additional $100 cash deposit when you check in.
Right off the highway and near the venue we were attending, Exchange Park. It's also only about 30 minutes outside of Charleston. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff was more than accommodating!
From management to front desk to the amazing maids, this hotel far exceeds any other hotel I have stayed at. I have been staying here off and on for years and they go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome. The only thing I wish was that since all restrictions have been lifted from restaurants that they would bring back the breakfast. It was always the highlight of my trip.
I have spent approximately 20 nights in the last 2 months in motels in the Summerville area. My mother was in her last days and died in January. I spent the last 5 nights in this Best Western during an intensely emotional and difficult time. The hotel was clean and comfortable, met my physical needs perfectly. The manager, Miss LIzzie, took me under her wing once she knew the circumstances and she and her staff were kind and caring. I'll never stay in another hotel or motel when in the area again! I recommend them 100%.
Booked the whirlpool suite to get a night of escape for my wife and I. The room was very nicely sized, clean, and the jacuzzi tub in the room was a huge plus. So relaxing. Will be planning on a visit like this monthly from now on.
Id gladly give this more stars, however, at 330am, the phone rang in our room. It was the front desk attendant. Here's the conversation that followed Front desk: Are you smoking in the room? Me: No. We're sleeping FD: Are you sure? Me: um, yes, why? FD: because the hallway smells like Marijuana and I'm going to need you to come to the desk. Me: really... have you called anyone else? I'll be right there I get to the desk and she asks me if she woke me.. I'm floored by now and made her come to the room where she stuck her face in and said, "wow, your were right" Check out time and I reported it to the next shift. I was told I'd get a call back with a resolution from management. I did, but it was for Priceline rates on the jacuzzi room. Ok, cool. I was told to call when ready to book. I called back a day later and the girl at the desk just couldn't grasp what I was telling her. She kept insisting that the $100 deposit wasn't going to be refunded because we smoked in the room. No, we didn't. So she called her supervisor and called me back saying that the deposit was released... I stopped her and again told her that was not why I was calling. She continued to argue with me about it then says she can't make the reservation on the discounted rate because she didn't know how and that I'd hear from her manager the following day... haven't heard a word since.
The room I stayed in smelled of mildew, the fridge didn't work, and the shower head didn't work properly. I was moved to a new room but that room had the same exact problems. The vending machine was empty, the ice dispenser didn't work. The internet kept cutting off. I will not be staying at that hotel again.
Hotel was what I expected but the staff was AMAZING. The internet collapsed the 3rd day in and stayed down beyond my checkout 4 days later. Thank goodness a McDonalds is right across the street with free WiFi but it was inconvenient nonetheless. The hotel staff members were doing the best they could with COVID restrictions providing a daily grab-and-go breakfast of a granola bar, piece of fruit and pre-packaged pastry each day in a sealed bag at the front desk. I should've brought my coffee pot and coffee since they only had the in-room coffee pot (due to covid) and I love my coffee. But again, they are doing the best they could.
The hotel is out of date, hair was int he bed, as well as all in the shower. The AC did Not work. We were told to unplug it. We had to stand in the hallway for air. It stayed at 82°. It was the worst stay
Stayed here for a nice getaway with my husband. The hotel was clean , room was perfect. The staff were very nice. The room had a nice whirlpool tub that was very relaxing . I would definitely recommend this hotel to families and anyone traveling in the area. There is McDonald's and waffle house across the street.
Rude front desk staff. $100 deposit required after the room was paid and still is not back on my card. Both rooms were dirty. No thank you or apologies. Front desk lady parks in the handicap space. Bad customer service. I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere
Was clean, comfortable, and affordable. Close to family in the area.I would stay here again. I travel to Fl often to see daughter and this area is halfway for me and see family that live here also. Close to other attractions in the area.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Best Western Magnolia Inn and Suites. I didn't expect it to be so brand new, easily accessible to the highway and cozy. The front staff were all nice and efficient! I would definitely stay there again (and probably will as my husband and I are planning a trip back to Charleston sometime).
The room was very clean. The staff was very nice. The breakfast is for those with the time to rise a little late. If you have to be out by 6 you will probably miss out. There are, as is the case everywhere, several fast food places near by to pick up something quick.
Had a great visit Well kept. The staff was great. Location for us was perfect! Will stay here again when we arw back in town. Give the house keeping crew a raise they did yeoman work keeping the place looking nice and clean
Our check in experience was the best I have had, with a totally professional and friendly experience supplied by Miss Lizzie. The rooms are large and comfortable and filled with decent toiletries. Sleep is good Breakfast was a bit of a let down with not a lot of items being available and a bit of time taken to replenish. Overall a nice place and would stay again.
Guest service was great breakfast service is great. The staff will go out their way to help. I would recommend that you stay here. Lizzy the Manager is wonderful. Love this location. Not too far from downtown Charleston and the airport.
Have stayed here before but had been a while, so decided to try it again and room still clean and nice, staff was great, checked in late eveing and lady at the desk was just super nice, got checked in with no problem as had made reservations before we left, it's still a great place to stay! Stayed two nights and if back down there will stay there again!!
This hotel was okay. It was older but clean. The staff wasn't especially nice, but got the job done. There was a good breakfast buffet. Area seemed a little sketchy for me and there was a blind spot getting out of the parking lot onto the main road where cars were flying around a curve.
I was very disappointing about the hold they put on your credit card for a deposit specially because the front desk clerk ran it through twice and as of now I still have the hold on my credit card for the two charges.
One of the best Best Western Hotels we have ever stayed at. 100% in cleanliness, food was very good. staff was the best! It is in a convenient location for the low country. Real good restaurants just a short drive.
It's always a pleasure staying with Best Western I really enjoy the rewards benefits I think they're one of the best hotel chains for rewards the staff is always friendly I managed to get me in my room as quickly as possible thank you
I have stayed in this hotel many times and have always been happy with the experience. This time there was some confusion over a Best Western promotion but the staff worked diligently to get it straightened out sand I was delighted with the result. I highly recommend this property.
This hotel served its purpose for a weekend trip to visit friends. It wasn't the cleanest or nicest place I've seen for the price range, but nothing appalling. Some hairs on the pillowcase when I checked in, doesn't bother me too much but it's not great.
took awhile to check in. was told that we would be charged $100.00 for a incidental charge. was taken back. I have stayed at other Best Western nicer than this and never was charge for a incidental charge. the first night the we stayed the room was musty, was given a spray to spray the room. around 11:30 fire alarm went off. hard to hear the alarm with door closed. no robo call to leave room. the staff was outside as guest slowly came outside. came back two days from ackworth. the room was nicer but still had to wait to check in. had my wallet stolen. the manager never came out of the office. the women at the front desk didn't know what to do. I asked to have the police called. the women from the front desk called the owner of the hotel. the owner said they would check the video tape in the morning. still don't know what was on the tape.
Very nicely appointed BW conveniently located. Room was very quiet -even though we were next to elevator. Never heard it once! The room and bed/pillows were very comfortable. The staff was warm and welcoming.
WOULD NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I booked a reservation through Hotwire for me and my adult daughter a few days in advance. The number of beds was not shown on my reservation so I called the hotel to make sure we could have two beds when we got there. The guy who answered said it was a King bed room and that he could not change this since it was booked through a third party, He did say that they had a lot of 2-bed rooms available and that I needed to contact Hotwire to see if they could make the change. Hotwire called them and requested the 2-bed room and said the hotel put a note to provide the room if available and told me to get there early and an early check in was ok at no extra charge. I called the hotel around 10:30 a.m. as we were about an hour away to check to see if they had a 2-bed room available and was told that they could not change the King-bed room made by a third party and there was no note of the previous request from Hotwire - so I called Hotwire again and they again called the hotel. When I arrived at the hotel around noon I asked Danielle at the front desk if they had a 2-bed room available and she indicated yes, but there would be an extra $20 charge for an early check-in. I told her no, and told her I had booked my room through Hotwire and that they had called and requested the 2-bed room with an early check-in at no charge. Danielle told me she could not change the 3rd party reservation, and again I called Hotwire. I asked to speak to a manager at the hotel but Danielle said the manager was out for 2 weeks and that she was in charge. She supposedly called her manager and she told me it was their policy to not change the third party reservation. Funny thing when I pulled up rooms on their website, the 2-bed room were the least expensive!!!!! Danielle was VERY RUDE to both me and the Hotwire person, and the Hotwire person even mentioned this to me. Danielle would not approve the cancellation through Hotwire. The Hotwire representative got their management to approve refunding my money and booked me at another local hotel. Hotel staff is very unaccommodating, inflexible, unreasonable -- WOULD NEVER STAY THERE -- BUYER BEWARE!!!
The room was ok but the sheets were dinghy and tub not that clean. I think a little mote effort in cleanliness is needed. I dont think I'll be visiting Best Western again because I've had problems in the past.
I've been staying at Best Westerns for many years. This trip, I reserved a room with my credit card as I usually do. When checking in, I was required to run my card for a $100 deposit in addition to the card charge for the room. This has never happened to me before. I questioned the lady at the desk (who said she was the management); she said all the BW's do this (they don't) and argued with me about it. I told her I had stayed the night before in a BW closer to downtown Charleston and they did not do this - she had no comment. It was late for me so I accepted it. The next morning on checking out, the clerk had no receipt for the charge, saying only that I would have to check my VISA statement to be sure they didn't charge me. I'll never stay at this BW again even though it's very close to my grandson's house. I do like BW's, but this one is the exception.
Great Service I enjoy my stay. Staff was pleasant. Overall stay was outstanding. Would definitely recommend to others. The breakfast was great room very clean and the staff provided exceptional service.
The hotel is great the staff are very pleasant.. the rooms are always clean.. my kids enjoyed the pool... Very quiet place and smoke free.. the give pool towels so you don't have to take the ones from yours room...
It was good place to stay. The pool area was closed for the day which was not great and the bath was not stocked with all the towels at start but the quickly took car of this.have stayed hear before and is always good. Hot breakfast.
Overall the hotel was clean and staff was pleasant. Only issues I experienced was the A/C was extremely loud and not working very well and there was a smell that may have been from the pool outside our room.
Everyone at the Hotel assisted myself and our group with ideas and recommendations for what to do, see and visit while in the Charleston area, They were extremely informative and helpful in finding good food, good tours and making new friends!
The staff was absolutely wonderful the rooms were very clean and comfortable The breakfast was awesome couldn't ask for a better experience the location worked out really good close to food and shopping and sightseeing
Friendly staff and professional. The location was awesome, access to every where especially the highway. Clean and it had a pool for the family. The breakfast was the best of all, fresh.God bless you all.
Room was great & hotel was very clean . The staff was exceptionally friendly & helpful. I've stayed in different Best Westerns and they have all been very pleasant. The rates are decent and they are in good areas for dining, etc.
Very pleased with the location despite the road work going on nearby. This was a clean, quiet and very friendly hotel and staff. Will definitely be returning to this BWP on our future trips to Charleston
Property was nicely maintained and rooms were in good condition and very clean. Bed was very comfy (not too soft or hard). Bathroom was very clean and linens looked new. Check-out lady was very friendly and helpful. The ONLY downside was the lady working check-in was VERY rude and un-friendly. We did a late check-in at midnight due to a concert on Daniels Island. You have to push a doorbell after hours if you don't have a room key. When I pushed the bell she flung her chair backwards in the office you can see from where you stand to enter hotel. She pushed the unlock for the door and very sassily asked me what I needed. I explained I was checking in. She then asked me “Oh at midnight? What's your name” She quickly checked us in then flung our key cards on the counter then turned around and walked off. Lucky for me our room number was on the card holder and I can read signs to find where the elevator was. But like I said...Checkin was the ONLY downside and I'm sure I interrupted a good game of solitaire she was involved in.
This is a nice and clean hotel. Nice and spacious accommodations in the rooms and lots of parking space. The staff was very friendly. It offers a continental breakfast that was good. If I am in this area again, I would consider staying here again.
First time at a Best Western brand hotel...this will not be my last! Loved everything about this hotel. In my opinion the best value for your money. Staff was great, room was clean and spacious. Will definetly stay again. Would highly recommend this hotel.
On our trip through the state and found this gym. Cleanest place I have been. The staff was awesome and the most friendliest. The breakfast was great. I would definitely stay here again.... thank you.
The whole hotel was amazing. We had a king sized room with a Jacuzzi tub.The whole hotel was amazingly clean and you could smell it when you walked in.The breakfast food was actually really good. The bed was a bit to firm for my taste but worth it for the price and cleanliness.
My wife and I stopped here for the night after a visiting the Red Wolves at the Cape Romain NWR. The staff has very courteous so I upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi. The room was very clean and the Wi-Fi & TV worked great. We got a good night's sleep and started the next morning with a dandy breakfast. This motel has a large parking lot and easy access to the main hwy. Very nice.
quiet, clean but ask for first floor if you want a good bed. Free breakfast and close to airport. don't stay at Days Inn it is horrible. We canceled Days Inn after one night and went across the street to Best Western but were disappointed in bed this year and were told to ask for first floor next time.
I had another great stay at the Ladson Best Western. Convenient access to major highways. Staff very good. Breakfast was perfect for me. I used the gym. Close enough to airport. I will be back in April 2019.
Wonderful experience...room was clean, bed was comfortable, room had iron, ironing board, blow dryer, fridge/microwave which is s plus 4 me...breakfast was veryyyy good I suggest pancakes vs. waffles tho..I would stay/recommend this hotel 2 friends/family ...E. Carter
Your staff was the most helpful at a very difficult time. We had to leave our original booked hotel because of dirty measures, when we showed up at your hotel your employees got us into a room fast and with no problems! They made our stay 110% better. The rooms were cozy an comfy and our children enjoyed some time in the outdoor pool! Breakfast you could not go wrong with the selection, we will most definitely be using your hotel on every one of our stays from here on out!
Was down for a vacation and was evacuated because of the Hurricane but the room was great for the one night . Will be back later on after the storms are over. It was our 36 Anniversary so we will have to celebrate later in the year.
The stay was nice. Rooms are very clean. Hallway had a little smell.I got cheated on getting my full deposit back and not because I did anything wrong and nothing was missing out of the room. The checkout person did not want to listen and she messed up.
Great location and nice room and amenities. Will definitely stay again when in the area. Right off I-26 and near good shopping and restaurants. Wonderful customer service. I got a quiet rest after outpatient surgery.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel a few years ago when visiting our daughter...was a great stay...so we decided to come back to it. We were so disappointed at the room quality and cleanliness compared to the last stay...went downhill quite a bit. We like BW...but, will definately choose a different site for our stay in the future!
We decided to stay the night locally instead of starting our travels back north. Hubby found a deal with this hotel and booked it. The ratings were good and we were very hopeful. The desk staff was friendly, nice and helpful. The room was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. The only thing was ... the room smelled a bit musty and thinking the air conditioning needed some maintenance or cleaning.
Septic system in the rm above us backed up had to chg rms. Woke up to a roach crawling on my nightstand. Next night found a roach crawling up the door. Reported it to mgr Lizzy & she was rude & didnt even apologize!
Nice room and comfy beds till you wake up and find 3 roaches crawling. Then it seemed they hatched babies on the nightstand. Worse was when we reported them the staff didn't seem to care. Wow, we won't be staying here anytime soon.
Great location. The Staff was very pleasant nice and easy going. Breakfast was good all in all a nice place to stay parking lot a little crazy but everything else is good. Housekeeping was very helpful.
This hotel was clean. The staff was super friendly and the pool was different, it was half inside half outside. Very close to Tanger outlets. Not far from the beaches. The only downside is horrible WiFi!
The staff was great and so friendly. Breakfast was really good.....waffles, fruit, various breads etc. Rooms were spacious, clean and we had a fridge. It was a pretty setting with many trees surrounding it. We would stay there again!!!
Breakfast was ok. Hot was gravy, waffles, make your own oatmeal most days. One morning was scrambled eggs. Room was clean. Shower hot with great water pressure. Price was a little cheaper than surrounding hotels. Only negative was trying to get out of the hotel on work days. The traffic was terrible and people would not let you make a left hand turn out. Not a negative necessarily on the hotel, just rude SC people.
Stayed 1 night. The manager on shift was extremely nice and accommodating. The hotel was clean and didn't reek of cigarette smoke or marijuana (like many hotrls I've stayed at in the past). The continental breakfast was great, lots of options. I would definitely stay there again!
This is a good option for hotels outside of Charleston, SC. Great customer service and quality of hotel! Only problem was finding a few bugs in the room, and the bathroom stayed damp because there was no vent.
Nice hotel. Clean rooms, nice layout and nice breakfast. It has a friendly staff especially Janet the manager. Kind of difficult getting out of the parking lot due to sporadic traffic. Would stay again.
The staff was friendly when we checked in and checked out. We enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was amazing. Our stay was short but I had a amazing experience. The bed was a little stiff but it's something that I could deal with.
Hopefully you're lucky enough to get Ms. Lizzy when you check in. Not only does she make you feel like you're the single most important guest at this hotel, but you will fall in love with her bubbly personality. Our breakfast servers where also very attentive and made certain there was plenty of warm food on the breakfast buffet. The hotel itself is clean and modernized. It's tucked away in a wooded area so that was also a plus for us because we were able to sit down at the end of the day, relax and enjoy a bottle of wine at one of their outdoor picnic tables. This hotel is well worth the money considering you are not far from Charleston or Summerville. We will definitely be back next time we have to stay in the area.
Great Location, great price, Great Room. The location was right off the interstate 20. About 10 min from the mall and many , many places to eat.. I would stay here every time I visit. It was very quiet, and safe.
We were very pleased with our stay. People at the desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and well attended to. Location was very good with I-26 very close by, but traffic was bad at times. The only complaint we had was that breakfast could have been better. Items not replaced or overcooked.
Always stay here when we visit family. Nice location and free breakfast. They were very helpful with the bridge run events and other events happening around the area. Always nice people are running the desk.
We booked a last minute vacation to Charleston, and knew we'd be running each day to see the sights, so were opting for a basic hotel, clean and comfortable. We booked a different location, which was not exceptable. We changed to this property and was thoroughly pleased with the value for what we got. I do not consider this a basic property, but the price fit that category. Everything was very clean, the room was extremely comfortable, quiet (even though we were near the elevator and lobby), comfortable bed and the staff made you feel valued and welcome. The decor was well thought out and the breakfast provided was awesome (scrambled eggs, potatoes, saussage, hot waffles plus colder fair options)! I failed to get her name, but the girl that ran the breakfast service was amazing at her job! She not only kept everything fully stocked, the room cleaned and stayed out of everyones way, she anticipated the guests needs. Breakfast ends at 10AM and I was getting a later start one day. I came to the breakfast area about 9:45AM and didn't expect to have as many choices. I was surprised to see hot eggs and potatoes still available, so got my plate of food. The girl waited to clear everything until I was done eating. I came back for some coffee and she asked if I needed anything else. I expressed my surprise that the eggs were still available despite my late arrival. She was ready to get me anything I wanted despite it being after 10AM. That is service! She displayed this level of professionalism and attentiveness each morning. It was rare that she had to offer anything to anyone, as she was anticipating the needs before hand. It was clear she understood above average service and it shined! We got way more than we paid for at this property and I would definately recommend it to others. It's about 20-30 minutes from downtown, depending on the traffic.
Convenient for the airport. Spacious and comfortable room. Quick check in. Breakfast could have been better. Easy access to Charleston and Interstate. Clean. Bath needs a mat, as it gets very sloppy and dangerous. Good value.
The check-in was easy. The room was very clean and the staff very accommodating. The beds are comfortable. The hot breakfast in the morning was just what me and my little girl needed to get our day started. Will stay here again when I come back to visit family.
We booked this hotel so we could be close to the Charleston Coliseum and Summerville. It was convenient, but we found our room to be very noisy due to the proximity to the Interstate. Had to run the fan all night just to mitigate the traffic noise. The pillows on our bed were like rocks. Breakfast was so-so. The staff was friendly and the common rooms are very nice. There is an exercise room.
Check-in was quick and the person checking us in quickly and cheerfully corrected the mistake of the key not being programmed correctly. Other staff was friendly and helpful, too. Motel was quiet and clean, A/C unit was quiet, hot breakfast was good (even the coffee!) and included sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, waffles, cereal, juices, pastries, yogurt, milk, etc. We never had a chance to use the exercise room or outdoor pool, but they were available and looked nice. We would recommend it.
Full Breakfast, immaculate rooms, Beautifully decorated, kind and friendly staff. I stay here all the time, just as a relaxing getaway. Best hotel I've ever stayed in! The jacuzzi suite is my second home! I'd live there if I could lol
I made reservations online not knowing that I would run into unexpected snow storm and they were kind enough to hold my reservation until I arrive later that night. I'm so grateful for their understanding and kindness.
The staff went our to the way to make our stay great. We were down because out daughter passed away. The hotel is excellent , clean and comfy and a great staff. Will always stay there when we come down to see our grandson
Perfect hotel for us, plenty of room. My husband and I stayed here during our weekend in Charleston. There were plenty of places to eat nearby and the location felt very safe. The hotel itself also had an outdoor pool, which looked very nice...although we didn't use it due to the fact that it was winter hehe.
I have stayed here a few times and it is in a great location outside of the rush of Charleston. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Breakfast is not bad when they don't run out of food, but not too keen on eating it off a plastic plate. I would still consider this hotel for future stays.
everything was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. everything was clean and neat. the breakfast was great with lots of choices. only complaint the pillows were not comfortable. would definitely stay here again.
Best Western is my favorite chain so I stay in a lot. This is right there with the better ones. Service was great. Location right of the interstate. Close to the gas station. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was filling.
The room had plenty of room for the 3 of us. Very comfortable beds and pillows, a/c worked fantastic, shower was awesome. Disappointed that there wasn't an indoor pool, but this was a trip that was not planned ahead.
Stayed for a night while attending a wedding. Decent hotel. Great room and amenities. Breakfast was filling. Staff were very helpful. The location is right off the interstate. Will definitely recommend to everyone going to North Charleston.
The hotel had a very friendly staff and was clean. The problem was our room. When we arrived, the TV remote and a phone did not work. The staff did fix that. The room was musty and actually damp. Our clothes in the room were damp. The bathroom had a crooked commode, crooked hook, and a crooked spigot. The day we checked out the toilet would not flush. Breakfast was fine and the décor was good--looked like it had recently been updated. We are walkers and found that the area did not have good sidewalks for walking--mostly overgrown with weeds. The convenience to I-26 was a plus--only 15 miles from Charleston downtown.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. When we arrived the TV remote did not work, nor did the phone in the room. The front desk woman was diligent at finding us a remote that worked. The breakfast was good each day. The decor of the hotel is good and has been updated. The hotel was 15 miles from downtown Charleston and right next to I-26 which was convenient. We like to walk, but the area was somewhat rural. Whatever sidewalks there were, they were not easy to walk on because they are overgrown with weeds. Our room was musty and actually damp! When we left to sightsee, at our return, our clothes in the room were damp. The bathroom made us laugh. The commode was crooked, the hook was crooked and the spigot was crooked. The morning we checked out, the toilet would not flush.
Hotel was very nice, clean, quiet. Room was very nice and the bed was quite comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. There pool is great. Partly in the sun and partly in the shade. Breakfast was very good. Had lots of choices.
The staff was friendly, but my room had a very strong musty smell and I saw some roaches. The hotel could use some renovating. I had no choice but to stay, since I was stranded and waiting for my car to be fixed.
Stayed two nights. The Good...The room was large. The beds were very comfortable. I had the eggs and sausage for breakfast it was good. The Bad... The room had an odor that was musty and the carpet was damp. The waffle maker did not make waffles, it had to be scraped off the waffle maker (more the batter then the maker.) The coffee was weak. All in all it was ok... doubt we'll stay there again.
This motel was very clean and up to date. The staff was extremely helpful in providing info for Charleston, SC. The motel breakfast was better than most. The location was only a 15 minute drive to downtown Charleston, SC. Easy access to I-26 but very quiet (no interstate traffic noise)
From the moment we walked into the lobby until the moment we entered our room the very pleasant and inviting smell continued. Made me feel like I was at a nice resort. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
we were in Charleston for a family emergency. the staff was very helpful and kind. the room was nice and clean. we had to delay our stay and they were able to accommodate our needs. the staff were extremely nice and helpful.
Stayed here 3 nights for the total eclipse. Room was nice, quiet and very clean. TV reception was the worst of any hotel we've stayed at. Picture kept constantly freezing even in good weather,; believe it was directv. Nice breakfast selection though scrambled eggs a little rubbery.
Nothing fancy but it was comfortable for what we needed it for, sleeping and a place to put our things. The pool was also nice to enjoy with the hot weather. The staff is really nice and accommodating too :)
The staff at Best Western Magnolia Inn and Suites made me feel very welcome. I enjoyed their breakfasts. The rooms and public areas were clean and in good condition. I enjoyed my time here when I went eclipse watching.
Room was very clean, front desk was very welcoming and was able to get us into the room earlier than standard check in time. Breakfast was very good. Great location to get on and off the exit. Great value and great location for getting to and from downtown Charleston.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel and found it to be very clean, hotel staff was very polite and helpful. We always stay at a Best Western and have found that they all are wonderful places to stay. We would recommend them to everyone!
The staff was friendly and my room was amazing! I had a suite with a king sized bed which was very comfy to sleep in. The room was spacious and set up nicely. Both the bathroom and the room were both clean. I would definitely stay here again!
My husband and I were visiting our son, who is in the Air Force, so this was a close spot, without being int he expensive Charleston area. The hotel was clean and the front desk staff was very friendly. Our room was a little musty smelling, but clean. Their free breakfast was pretty average, and contained eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereals, toast, a waffle machine and muffins. The eggs and sausage were cold, but the gravy was hot - so their warmers were not all working properly. They have an outdoor pool that is actually underneath the hotel - so if you want to stay out of the sun - it's good for that.
We recently spent a weekend in Charleston, SC and stayed at this BW Magnolia Inn & Suites - only about 20 minutes away from the old town. Our whole hotel was clean - fresh - and had a new feel. Our room was spacious, the restroom was fine, the king bed slept comfortably, and the walls kept noise out, all the basic things I look for. The only complaint I have is that, for whatever reason, the "hot" bar breakfast items (biscuits, eggs, sausage, gravy) were not really hot. That was odd - as the food was delicious. The two waffle makers, on the other hand, pumped out steaming hot waffles - so that offset the other. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay - and would certainly look to stay here again.
Excellent Service from the time I walked in, very professional and was informative about future discounts. The breakfast was very nice and clean in the areas. The host for breakfast was polite and professional.
As a whole, the hotel was really great! Lizzy (spelling?) checked us in and was very helpful, funny, and friendly. We always had pleasant encounters with her! The other woman who we saw at the desk (I didn't get her name) was also very polite and helpful. As for the room itself, it was in good order and comfortable. We found no evidence at all of bed bugs, which was a relief. The only real issues were with the bathroom. The bathroom REALLY needed a fan. There was nothing at all to help alleviate the steam from the shower or to help circulate air in that room. The air conditioner is clear on the other side of the hotel room and did nothing to help the bathroom. And the walls are thin. We could hear our neighbors TV going at all hours of the day or night. And the windows may as well have not even been in place considering how loud the noise was from the freeway next to the hotel. They certainly didn't provide much of any noise barrier. Breakfast was the typical cereal options, waffle, toast, or pastries. It was all good each of the mornings. We had to check out of our room at 4:45 AM and when we came down to the lobby we couldn't find anyone at the desk. We had to get to the airport so we couldn't stand and wait for someone to arrive, so we didn't get a receipt for our stay or a proper check out. I hope that doesn't come back to haunt us! Aside from the lack of quiet in the room, though, we had an excellent stay.
This hotel should be a Best Western PLUS. It is very new and modern. I liked the decor in the rooms. Very modern furniture and electronics. The wifi worked well. Actually i'm using it now. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
I see no sense in redundency. I have rated this motel as you have asked. This is my primary motel when I must be in the Charleston area. I called for reservations by phone and received a king suite, the clerk on duty was able to change me to a double for my accomadations., without any problems that I know about. Please excuse my misspellings, as there is no spell check on your site.
This hotel is not far from down town Charleston and is only a few exits away from great shopping and restaurants. This is my second stay at this hotel and the staff was great both trips and the rooms were great both times.
I enjoyed all my stays there and the environment was very relaxing and comfy. The staff had been very helpful and help me find the right rate to make my budgeting of stay at the best western and happy experience for my whole family. w.baskerville,jr.
Ms. Lizzy was there when I checked in and she is great! Every hotel should have a front desk person like her. The room was large and clean. The carpets were very plush. The bed and pillows didn't allow me comfortable sleep, but I lived with it. The breakfast was substantial. It held me from 9:30am until 2pm. Eggs, sausage, waffles, tater tots (instead of hasbrowns)cereal, coffee, yogurt, fruit were all available. The breakfast attendee was on her job, checking and making sure everything was stocked and when it ran out, she was remaking items and brewing coffee. All in all, I would definitely stay again if I was in the Charleston area.
Have stayed here multiple times and will continue to return when in the area. The staff is awesome. Especially Lizzy. She even knows my voice when I call for reservations. Always nice and friendly. She makes me smile... Only wish they had smoking rooms available.
Very good location to where I was traveling for the price. I was with in easy driving range for what I needed to do for the two days. The breakfast was very good and everyone working there were very helpful
I would not hesitate staying at this hotel the next time I'm in the Charleston area! Very comfortable, clean with a great breakfast and kind staff!!! The fitness center is very accommodating to runners and others who workout daily! Front desk attendant was kind and helpful! Housekeeping kept our room stocked with towels and was very kind! I was very impressed with quiet nature of the floor our room was located on and our bed was comfortable which made sleeping easy!! Thank you for making our trip a pleasant one!!
This hotel was really clean and Lizzie the front desk attendant was so much fun. She truly loves her job. She made the stay that much better because she has such a fun personality. The hotel breakfast was really good and plenty of food. The rooms were really clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
We very much enjoyed our stay. Rooms are recently refurbished and clean and are well maintained. Nice fitness room. Lots of nice trees surrounding the property--provides shade and act as sound buffer from nearby highway. Friendly staff provided for our needs. Very nice hotel overall.
Loved this hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Lizzy you are the best:):) Janet and Caroline very helpful. Everyone who worked at the hotel either cleaners or management were the best and just so very helpful and friendly.
Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, stayed on the 2nd floor, easy to get in and out of, breakfast was good, good location to where we needed to be, if back in that area again will stay there!
This was the second year in a row staying at this hotel! It's a fair price for the stay! Only 20 minutes from downtown Charleston so it was pretty convenient but the traffic sometimes made it longer but they can't really help that! The breakfast was great everyday and the hotel staff was very nice! My only thing is that the beds were comfortable at first but by the end of the trip my back was very sore I even used a body pillow and it was still painful....don't know if it was because of the bed or what, but everything else was great!
This is ridiculous. The carpet nor shower were clean. The shower only had hot water and a repair person was in my room two hours with me present. No other room available, I was told. Do not stay here.
Were delighted to find this B/W jewel in small-town, USA. Cigarette butts were all over sidewalks, but the pool and inside of the building were clean and no odor of cigarettes or vapes. Would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those escaping the South Carolina experience.
We had a great experience at this hotel and would recommend to friends and family visiting Charleston. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very adequate quality and quantity and good flavor.
great hotel very friendly staff, liked the proximity to the highway, staff put our rooms to the wooded area which was nice. very nice hotel, good breakfast selection and well motivated and friendly staff Check out was a fast and professional and their recommendation to sigh us up to save some money for the next trip
I am a Veteran who served this Great Country honorably. On 2/3/16, I slipped and fell on a wet bathroom floor due to very poor Housekeeping and gross negligence. At my insistence, I made a statement about the fall and gave a copy to Hotel Manager Lizzie who later stated to the insurance company that I had made a statement about the incident but refused to give her a copy. Please tell me what good would a statement do if I don't report it to Hotel Management? Please note that at no time did Lizzie document the incident. If I had not insisted that I make a report, I would have absolutely no documentation to support my claim. Immediately after I fell on the wet floor, I spoke with Lizzie and showed her my injuries. She immediately noticed the blood seeping through my jogging pants and the contusion on my left knee. She immediately asked if house keeping was still up there. Lizzie also stated that this type of incident had only happened to her once but the guy was at fault because he spilled something on the floor. She gave me bandages for my knee and asked if I needed to go to the hospital. I stated that I would see a doctor when I returned home. Lizzie told me to send her all medical bills related to the incident and provided the address where the bills needed to be sent. However, when I returned home I did not receive call from Lizzie or any agent for Best Western inquiring about my fall or well being. I called corporate on February 16th to report the incident. I was informed by corporate that someone from the hotel would contact me. On February 19, 2016, I received a voicemail from Lizzie requesting that I call her. On 3/1/16, I informed Lizzie that I was advised to get a cat scan. She requested that I provide her the date and doctor information as soon as I scheduled. I informed her that I was seeing a doctor for my injuries. She also provided her personal cell phone number and stated that, "We will see how insurance takes care of these things". On 3/31,I faxed the doctor's report and on 4/6/16, called Lizzie to confirm receipt of the documents. To add insult to injury, Hotel Manager Lizzie flat out LIED about the injury to corporate and the insurance company. Lizzie absurdly stated that I was not injured and that she believed that I was injured prior to staying at the hotel. Moreover, it is clearly evident that Lizzie lacks a conscience and will do whatever to save her own skin. But trust me, I am not one to be deterred!!! Please stay away from this dump!
This hotel is about 15 minutes outside Charleston and reasonably priced. It's right off I-26. Our room was clean, it had a slight musty smell. The staff were friendly and hospitable. The breakfast was average. Small covered pool area.
The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. She showed us a map of available rooms and let us decide where WE wanted in the hotel. The room was very clean and spacious. My wife is extremely picky about cleanliness and our room passed her inspection with no problem (rare). The only issue we had was the bathroom didn't appear to have a fan - not a good idea when our 8yo went #2. My wife works as a hotel breakfast cook in an upscale hotel. Though we didn't have the time to eat here, she considered the dining area clean and inviting.
I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years. The location is convenient, the price is average, the staff is always nice, the breakfast is good, but this time the bathroom was dirty and the room had not been cleaned well. I would still recommend this hotel though.
The room was very clean, however, the air freshner was over powering. It had a fridge and microwave and a nice TV. What it didn't have was an extra blanket and even a standard size pillow. I felt like my pillow was a small throw pillow from the couch. The breakfast was very underwhelming. I've had better food from a vending machine. It was a clean safe place to put my head. It was not a place of comfort. .All employees that I made contact with were pleasant and helpful.
Visit started with a very warm welcome from the manager. This hotel is reasonably priced for being so close to Charleston. Did not try the breakfast, but husband and grandson said it was good. Wi-Fi connection very good. The outside pool was in a covered area, which made it extra nice. Stayed three nights and plan on going back in a couple of months. Manager enrolled me in the rewards club, which was very much appreciated.
We stayed at this hotel on a recent visit to Charleston. We stayed here versus in Charleston saving 100's of $$$ and its only a 15-20 min drive into town. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was what you expect from a BW, breakfast area large lots of tables. Best hotels pillows we have come across....that said some of the most uncomfortable beds ever!
Kimberly at the front desk was very helpful with helping me solve my best western rewards issue. Location of hotel was great with lots of food choices nearby. Hotel was very clean and beds are soft. Breakfast was good as well. I typically have good experiences at Best Western since I am a rewards member and travel for work all over the country. This Best Western is one of the best I have stayed at. I would highly recommend this hotel!
The Inn presents well. Parking and access to the rooms was good. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Everything was in good working order. The staff was exceptional. Breakfast was more typical of the mediocre food offerings at motels.
Loved the room and hotel, but the motorcycles on the side road in front of the hotel were extremely loud at all times. There is a motorcycle shop just a short distance from the hotel. Stayed there for several nights, and it never seemed to get any better. It is sad because the hotel is ever so nice.
The room was very nice. It was clean and quite spacious. The only thing that came up was my room was at the front of the hotel and I could hear traffic.. motorcycles racing down the street, trucks going by... other than that it was a nice stay.
The overall hotel experience was very good. The hotel is clean, rooms/bed good and staff were all very friendly. We do have an issue with our bill. We made reservations 4 months before our trip and received the amount with our reservation confirmation. Upon checking out, the amount is $150 more than what was indicated on the initial reservation. We were leaving very early to catch a flight and the gentleman at the front desk was unable to make this adjustment. I have not received a follow-up to my inquiry from the Magnolia Inn or BW reservations regarding adjustment of the bill.
This is a great place to stay. Lizzy and Ticka made our visit comfortable. They were friendly and personable and actually enjoyed their job. We only stayed one night on our way to a cruise, but will stay here again. Great location, rooms were clean and well maintained!
Hotel was updated, except the bathrooms. The bathroom tile was in disrepair and the shower surround was older. Also, no exhaust fan and facuet was not properly installed. The bed was comfy, large TV and nice room furniture. Large breakfast area and friendly staff.
Great place to stay in this area. Easy access; clean; the woman who does the breakfast is wonderful. Has recently been redecorated. Has a pool but I haven't used it. Have never had a proven and have come here for years.
This hotel was superb in every way. We stayed for 6 nights and found all staff extremely efficient. The room was exceptional as was the whole hotel. Great breakfast too. Good safe location. A lovely stay and we plan on returning. Faultless !!!!!
We decided on staying here due to it being close to family and Charleston. The stafood was very friendly and helpful. The mattress was too firm for my wife however perfect for me so they offered extra pillows to place underneath her back for more comfort. I really enjoyed the hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy. They're renovating the property and the room was clean and modern. I only wish the rooms were sound proof so you hear everything next door.
Staff was excellent and helpful. Rooms are updated and very clean. The remote is in a little bag and was sterilized from last guest. Asked for additional towels and the ram them up quickly. Overall this is a nice place to stay. Close to I26, gas stations, and food.
Friendly staff; comfortable room; clean; breakfast was fine. We originally stayed here since we were to arrive around 5:30 pm to visit Summerville that eve and next day and then tour the plantations on Ashley River Road before heading into Charleston. Would have returned here during our trip, but after returning from Savannah we preferred to stay closer to Charleston for the next couple of days.
This hotel was very accommodating and the staff was outstanding! We went there because of incoming bad weather so it was a safe place while the horrible weather passed. During check out it was a breeze no waiting in lines just a simple stroll out to the cars and off we go back home hoping and praying that no damage came to our beautiful home!
New building and the staff was very accommodating. It was located near an interstate highway and on the outskirts of a city. They allowed us to remove the bikes we were carried on the car and store them over night in a secured area inside the building overnight.
An unavailable manager. 8 days with an issue to fix and she was never available. Thanks to the remaining staff that were always there! Room is noisy but spacious, and comfortable. Poor breakfast. People got inside my room even with "not disturb" sign
We used this hotel as our home base to visit a dear friend in the Air Force and to tour Charleston. All of the workers that we encountered, from the front desk, the breakfast workers and cleaning people, were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. We got a great nights sleep all four nights. The breakfast in the morning was excellent. Very clean and plenty of food. We would stay here again if we ever find ourselves in the area.
Have stayed here multiple times and will continue to return when I am in this area. The staff is awesome. Always nice and friendly. Good location and lots of good eats in the area. Wish they had smoking rooms but they try to put me on the first floor when I stay here so I can step out and smoke easy.
A nice facility in close proximity to Charleston without the added cost of properties nearer the city Centre. Restaurants to suit most tastes are located at the next exit out from town where there are some nice finds. Hotel staff were very helpful.
The registrars were extremely HELPFUL. The breakfast bar was outstanding with a good choices of food . The room was nice and clean. The location is right off the highway. The cleaning people did a great job in cleaning the room.
Great hotel, great staff, very nice room and breakfast. We were there for 5 nights while visiting the Charleston area and had a great stay. Very helpful staff and easy access to the highway. Not much to do nearby, but there is a gas station and McDonalds across the road. Will definitely stay here when we visit Charleston again.
This was our second stay at this location. We booked this last stay because of the service and quality of the facility. This stay was as good as the last. We had requested the same room as before and the staff was accommodating. We would recommend this location to family and friends.
My wife and I stayed here last night. The hotel is very difficult to get to, especially with traffic off I-26. It's located on a very congested access road and getting to it is up to the kindness of fellow drivers that let you through. The elevators are very slow and noisy. The room was ok, but the bed was way too hard for us. I still have a sore back from sleeping on it. The walls are paper thin, as we could hear the conversation next door all night long. I had to put tissue paper on my ears to try and get to sleep. Not only is it a NOT pet-friendly but it's also a NON-SMOKING motel. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereals, pastries and fresh fruit. I don't believe I would stay here again due to the location, hard bed and thin walls.
I cannot comment on the property itself, but be advised that it is NO LONGER PET FRIENDLY. We had purchased a reservation (3 months in advance) for 1 night with a pet for this property via Hotwire, when the hotel was pet-friendly. In the interim, they have decided to change their pet policy. It's fine to change your policy, however, 1) no notice whatsoever was given to us either by this hotel or Hotwire that their policy had changed (even though a dog was listed in the reservation notes for 3 months for a pet-friendly room with my email and contact info on file) and 2) this hotel is refusing to authorize a refund through Hotwire for their policy change. I understand they might not see the reservation notes until the last minute, and that's understandable, but willfully not issuing a refund for a room sold under false pretenses is detestable. Neither this hotel nor Hotwire are willing to take responsibility for the issue.
My husband and I came down south for the weekend. We stayed two nights here. It's very convenient to the highway. We used the hotel as our home base as we checked out a concert in Charleston on Friday night, and the U.S.S. Yorktown, Sullivan's Island and Folly Beach on Saturday. We found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. The road noise was a bit loud until we got to sleep, though. But once I'm asleep, it doesn't bother me, so it wasn't much of an issue. The hotel is very clean, and the rooms are roomy. They offer an above average breakfast, with eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, waffles and more. Definitely worth the price. We would certainly stay here again if we were in the area.
This is a great hotel! We stayed one night in a double room. The room was very clean and neat. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They allowed us an early check in so that we could get ready for a wedding in Charleston. The breakfast was awesome! Eggs, sausage, hash browns, waffles, cereal, bagels, etc. I would definitely stay here again!!!
We were part of a tour group. This was our Charleston hotel for two nights. It's quite a way out of Charleston and there are very few amenities within walking distance. Our guide suggested we eat at either the Waffle House or McDonald's - not exactly fine dining. Even these could only be accessed on foot across a potentially dangerous road crossing. Our guide and driver kindly then took us to a retail park some miles away where we could find a better choice of restaurants. The hotel is quite good in itself - comfortable rooms, good continental breakfast and friendly staff. If you are coming here by car then you will have a much better experience - most of our problems arose from coming as part of a coach tour group. If I had been in a hire car it would have scored much more highly
even though there were a few small things wrong, they addressed everything with a kind voice and a smile. i felt at home immediately. I had the Jacuzzi suite/Whirlpool Room & it..was...Amazing... most comfortable Hotel bed Ever. Pool was open until 10pm.Everything was super clean. breakfast was delicious. I went for a "pamper me" day because i was just emotionally drained... between the wonderful room and the Amazing Staff i left feeling content and rested. looking forward to staying there again !!
Well what can I say--you decide if you would like to stay here. First room (yes first) we had a cockroach crawl up on us while we were watching TV. Front desk person just said "well we've had a lot of rain and this just happens". Shrugging her shoulders she then stated, "They get in". This was not very reassuring to me, but I agreed to move to a new room. The second room that we were place in smelled like mold and everything had a damp feel. The carpet under our feet felt wet, the linens felt damp...it was very weird but the front desk person indicated there was not much choice in rooms so we just dealt with it for the night. Nope, I don't recommend this hotel.
We were in the area for a couple of soccer games and just needed a clean, quiet and relatively inexpensive place to stay for the night. This place fit the bill. The place was clean and very quiet. It was pretty much your standard traveler's motel, nothing fancy but more than adequate for our one night needs. We were greeted very cordially and checked in with no hassle. I can't find anything bad to say about this motel but nothing makes it stand out other than it was very quiet (did I say that already). We were at then end of the building and the wifi signal was a little weak. The breakfast was about what one would expect but it satisfied our needs and no one left hungry. All in all, I would stay here if ever in the area again.
Have stayed here multiple times and will return when I am in this area for sure. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Just wish they had smoking rooms available. I will return even though none available at this time though.
We found this property to be well kept and maintenance was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy access to the highway, and local attractions. The free breakfast was typical of hotel free breakfast.
I recently stayed there for one night. The property is a good choice as it's close enough to Charleston without the downtown prices. The motel itself is a bit dated and in some areas appears a little worn. My room was clean but a bit musty, but the bed was comfortable and bathroom fine. Unfortunately I was awakened at 2:30AM by the loud couple arguing next door, but one call to the front desk took care of that. Otherwise it was very quiet. There is a nice full breakfast served in the morning. The front desk clerk was extremely nice. This hotel is good for location and affordability. I'd rate it 2 1/2 stars. No red flags.
Someone had already booked this hotel for me. A pleasant surprise. Very clean and beds very, very comfortable. A big bonus was breakfast each morning with eggs, waffles, cereal, etc. Staff was warm and welcoming. During week parking lot very crowded with trucks but found a spot to park. At about 5 am the construction workers working locally and staying there were loud and could hear them talking thru walls and in halls. They were gone by 6 am and all quiet. All in all a great place to stay and would stay again.
Primary hotel of choice when traveling to Charleston SC area. Good location and home-town feeling. Staff from front desk, kitchen, to the maintenance guy are caring and attentive. Summerville with restaurants and shopping is close-by. You won't be disappointed!!!!!
We stayed two nights. Motel was quiet, clean and the staff was accommodating. IF you're there to visit Charleston, as we were, try not to get caught in the AM rush hour traffic---especially if you need to be in town at a specific time. The motel told us that it was about a 20-30 minute drive and it ended up taking us over an hour in traffic. Other than that, no complaints!
We stayed here ( our second trip staying at this location) and were even more impressed. The staff ( reception, housekeeping, breakfast) were lovely and welcoming- genuinely warm and caring. The people really make the stay at this place top notch. The comfort and cleanliness of the room was great- such a nice room to relax in after packing a moving van most of the day- in 90+ heat. To come in and lounge by the peaceful pool then rest in a "just right" bed was wonderful. The breakfast was such a bonus- great tasting- nice selection and super clean area. We were sorry to head home :) Definitely would recommend this to any traveler- easy access to highway but so quiet; close enough to ladson/summerville or north charleston to make it a great choice for home base if exploring the area.
Stayed for 8 nights (going back for 3 more) Only issue was they did not clean our room one day. By the time we got back to our room housekeeping had left. They delivered clean towels and took out trash. Very quiet and great staff. Right near highway entrance
Wife and I stayed 2 nights at this hotel and were pleased with the experience. Its location was a large part of our decision to book there. Right off I-26 with easy access to downtown Charleston in about 20 minutes. The price to stay in town was a bit too much when our plans were only to be in the hotel for a couple hours each evening, so this BW was a great option. The outside of the hotel has plenty of parking that's well lit at night. The staff are friendly and helpful. We found the hotel was clean inside and out. Our room was more than adequate with a king bed, flat screen tv, microwave, fridge, and small coffee pot. The shower/toilet area was well stocked and we liked the large counter top space. The hot bar breakfast each morning was a very nice touch. We have stayed in more expensive hotels that didn't include this or charged extra for it. Its also worth mentioning how quiet the area is. There was no noticeable noise from the interstate or nearby businesses. We stepped out to the parking lot at severall times of day and it was always peaceful. If you look on Google Maps you can see the hotel is surrounded on 3 sides by woods which helps keep things quieter. We will definitely be booking our stay here the next time we're in town.
1) The smell was UNBEARABLE! The room reeked of terrible mold/mildew! 2) There was a dead ROACH in the doorway when we checked in and when we checked out! 3) Sheets weren't a decent quality/knots formed from washing that looked like bugs!
Was much less than expected for money. Room smelled sheets stained safe not work NO HOT WATER roaches and ants phone not work in room rude staff. Would not recommend to stay. Others guests were complaing too. If your going to this area around Charleston book somewhere else early. Has gotten to be popular place to visit.
We decided to spend a long weekend exploring Charleston, SC and were lucky enough to find these accomodations only about 20 minutes away. The room we have is a double queen and works out well. We went for a swim in the pool and because it is partially under the cover of a roof, it was very refreshing even though the air temperature was in the 90s. We would definately stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Magnolia Inn and Suites. We were quickly and efficiently checked in, our room was super clean and well appointed. The showers were clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The microwave and refrigerator were a plus. We will return as needs arise.
The staff was friendly and the breakfast bar was ok (not hot, lukewarm food). Biggest disappointment was our room. The photos in their on line site specific to this location reflected a tastefully decorated and decent furniture in the rooms. What we found was an "off" odor, carpet not vacuumed, a huge tear in the couch and a child size table for a desk. No other room was available. If I can figure out how to post pictures, I will.
The beds were comfy. Nice shower. Daughter loved the pool. Wonderfully friendly staff! Loved the breakfast! Try the waffles, they are really good and you get to make them yourself! The negatives are that the room smelled. Front desk did give us some febreze that helped for a little bit. Our neighbors were extremely loud and a couple times the whole wall shook. However, staff handled the situation and we had a good rest of the night. Wifi was passable, not the best but could connect. Hotel is in a decent area with easy access to 26 and restaurants close by.
Hotel was basically ok, no vent in bathroom and not so clean. Requested a 1st floor room when I made the reservations but was told they only had 3rd floor available when I checked in. Breakfast was not the best
I will never stay here again. Our room reeked of cigarette smoke. When we told the staff member, she came to our room and remarked that she didn't smell a thing, as if to insinuate that we're either crazy or difficult customers. Not professional in the least.
The staff here is courteous, professional, and very helpful. I requested a room on the first floor with little noise for my second day and they honored my request. House keeping did an excellent job turning over my room.
Everyone from the front desk to the staff was very courteous and helpful. Room was very clean. Breakfast was wonderful. Plenty of hot and cold items to choose from. Would recommend to friends and family members. Will definitely come back next time we are in Ladson.
I was very happy with my stay. The staff was always very courteous. However, cleaning my room was slow. I have a dog and I wanted to be on the property when they cleaned my room. I would take my dog out while they cleaned room. That only worked out once. This held up my plans by 2-3 hours each day except 1 day. Of course the day I'm checking out they were there earlier. I wasn't able to lock my things up on the safe. I mentioned it and they said there was a black button inside the safe. I tried it and it seemed like it was going to come on but didn't. I didn't bother to ask for any more help with it. The lady that did my room the first day was awesome. The second day was someone else and she didn't leave cups, coffee or ice bucket liner. The next day she did fine. BUT THIS IS A GREAT HOTEL BUT IT IS EASY TO PASS UP THE WAY IT IS LOCATED.
The breakfast was terrific. It was a very nice variety of hot and cold items. Everything was refilled right away. All of the staff members were so friendly and helpful. One housekeeper even came after us in the parking lot because we had left an item in the room. Above and beyond
Stayed at this property for 2 weeks. Family member was in a nearby hospital. During the 2-weeks, the hallway fire alarm went off twice around 5 AM; fire alarm in my room (not wired to the internal building wiring) went off 2 nights in a row despite being "fixed"; needed to have bathroom sink unplugged; and, no housekeeping for 1 day. Young kids (baseball teams) stayed there over a 3 day period and I confronted them & 3 coaches in the hallway asking them to PLEASE BE QUIET!! around 11 PM 1 evening. Great location for my trip and hospital visits. Property close to main road so had a bit of road noise. I had a room on the backside of the building so road noise level was OK. Construction crews and heavy equipment were up and moving too early for me. Breakfast was good. Front desk staff were very polite. Will stay there in the future.
We were visiting Charleston for a few days, but wanted to stay a good bit out of the big town and we are glad we found this. The entire facility is very clean the rooms, pool area, breakfast area etc. All staff was very friendly my daughter was upset one morning at breakfast because they ran out of bagels and the older lady working got her one from the back and that made her day. Has a nice little pool to take a dip in after a long hot day in the sun also. Priced reasonably for the area too. I recommend this hotel to everyone.
Great location in Ladson, we picked this hotel while visiting family bc it was very close to them. Great price for 3 night stay. The continental breakfast was ok, eggs were awful, but we only ate there for one of the mornings. Only bad thing to say is the cleaning people would knock on your door around 9:30-10am asking if you wanted your room clean. We were sleeping after a 12 hour drive and this woke us up. Nothing else to complain about. I would stay here again and leave the do not distub sign out to prevent this.
Property is CLEAN. Located off 2 major roadways, but with NO road noise. Only drawback was the pool was not "outdoors", partially under the building. Even though they were is a "sold out" situation, all staff was exceptionally gracious & helpful.
We love staying at this Best Western. It is always clean and the staff are very helpful and pleasant. The facility meets all of our traveling requirements. I would recommend this Inn to anyone traveling in the area.
When visiting our Daughter and family in Charleston we try to stay at this Best Western. All of our interactions with the Hotel personnel, were always conscientious and professional in their respective efforts. Probably the best place to stay in the Ladson area.
It was clean and modern, The hotel staff was very pleasant , knowledgeable and helpful. The swimming pool was clean and refreshing. The breakfast was great , scrambled eggs, sausage, and orange juice.
The staff were nice and efficient. The hotel was clean and easy to get to and leave. The breakfast was the best I've encountered at a hotel. The rate wasn't bad for the quality of the room. The bed was very comfortable. I will stay here again.
I was hoping when I made this reservation that it was a good choice for a hotel and I was not disappointed. The check in and out was efficient, the bed was very comfortable and the overall experience was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other and stay there again!
Good stop and stay as we prepared to leave for a cruise from the Port of Charleston. Staff was totally helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good just wish they had boiled eggs instead of overcooked scrambled eggs. Waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, yogurt, milk, coffee, tea, etc. One problem with room - whoever installed the Curved Shower Rod (great idea) did not understand the concept and mounted it so far back that the curtain still is same level as the tub. Also the room feels a little like it needs a thorough cleaning - not dirty - just feel it. Entire hotel could use a major face lift, but good for a one or two night stay. Would stay again.
Our son booked this hotel. He thought it was closer into Charleston instead of a suburb but it only took 15-20 min in rush hour traffic to get to the French Quarter. The location is immediately off the I26. Our room was quiet & the beds comfortable. We didn't partake of the breakfast.
Fast, efficient check in and check out. Excellent breakfast. Clean and well maintained rooms and grounds. Very friendly and efficient hotel employees. They go out of their way to make sure you have a comfortable stay.
This is a very clean and nice place to stay. Staff is helpful and attentive. Rooms are clean and updated. They have a nice hotel breakfast which is kept well stocked. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family if they are traveling to Charleston. If I'm in the area again will definitely stay here.
I was impressed with the accommodations. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable and they had a killer breakfast with all the trimmings. overall it was one of my best stays in any hotel.
The few times I do get to the Charleston area, I have always stayed at this hotel. The Hotel is clean and the staff is always friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I can't say enough about the delicious breakfast choices! Eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, grits, oatmeal, apple and orange juice, waffles, pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, and oh yes, coffee! Try this hotel. You won't be disappointed.
Cleanest Best Western I've stayed in. Best maintained. Nice dining room for breakfast. Indoor/outdoor pool. Spacious room with sitting area. Good sized TV. Pet-friendly! Nice grassy area to walk the dog.
We were amazed at the friendly service we received at this hotel. We travel with a cat and they made her feel like the queen of the place. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, did not expect a full breakfast like this at this price hotel. Would stay here again anytime!
Room was very nice. Clean and comfortable. Couch, desk and King bed. This was a business trip but plenty of things to do at the end of the day. Just a short ride into Charleston SC. Plenty of shopping nearby and lots of sites to see. Would definetly stay here again.
This hotel provides a comfortable stay and excellent service. We stayed for two nights so that we could tour Charleston. Hotel is about twenty minutes from downtown so very convenient for this purpose. The only downside was that we had to go to Summerville to get a variety of restaurants, though it is not far away. All in all, we were very pleased with our stay - clean, comfortable beds.
As always, the Best Western Magnolia Inn & Suites provided a clean, quiet, comfortable room with all the basic amenities required for a very nice stay. We always choose this hotel when traveling to the Charleston, SC area. It's conveniently located just off I-26 and surrounded by forest to help keep the highway noise at bay. Looks like they've upgraded the decor to a nice, contemporary look. I highly recommend this hotel.
On our way home from Florida, we stopped in Charleston for the day, then stayed at the Best Western Magnolia Inn in Ladson, which isn't too far away. The hotel was a nice find. We stayed in a king bed room, non-smoking for a reasonable price. Free hot breakfast, which was very good. The room was quiet, clean, spacious, and bed was very comfortable. We were tired and that was our main objective. I am not sure of their other amenities, as I only wanted a good night's sleep.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Magnolia Inn and Suites. It is a very quite location and outside Charleston just far enough. Easy on and off the freeway with access to lots of restaurants. We will stay here again if we are in the area.
Arrived a day early and it was booked. They called other hotels, all booked. Jody, the desk clerk remembered that there was a reservation that might not show so she called and sure enough they were not coming so we were able to get a room for that night. The next morning we introduced ourselves to Kat, in charge of the dining room. She prepared the best breakfast of any Best Western we have ever stayed at. The room was spotless and every employee was friendly and kind. Lizzy, the manager runs a great hotel. A must if you are in the area or even if your are not.
I was traveling to South Carolina to see my daughters play soccer. It was very nice to get off the highway and have quick access to everything within 10 minutes from the hotel. It felt secluded enough to not feel in any danger and was still close enough to everything that we didn't need to drive long distances. Over all it was a great stay. I wish there was an offer for military discounts, that would have certainly helped.
I'll just list the good and bad. The good: quiet enough, what has been updated (lobby, breakfast) looks very nice. The bad: hard uncomfortable bed and sad sad pillows (both of which leads to neck, head, back, hip pains); Dirty dirty room (very poor cleaning), fridge and micro although new stunk so bad and were just covered in fingerprints, yellow crust on questionable towels, dried something or other on nightstand; Bad odor in room (it smelled like an entire can of cheap chemical-laced air freshener had been emptied in the room, it actually caused throat irritation. Even after opening window, it didn't help much. What's really crazy is the room door was wide open when we checked in around 6pm of which we were told "oh maid probably forgot to shut door and finish room" since a pillow was also left sitting on nightstand with no pillow case. So that room door must have been open for a few hours I'm guessing and room still smelled horrendous of chemical someting). Did I mention door was warped which is why it would get stuck and not close, you could see hall light very clearly around top, bottom and one side. Last but not least, technology challenge...Weak WiFi didn't work much at all and remote didn't work either. After a few trips downstairs to get pillowcase, trade crust-towel for clean one, and get batteries for remote (which still didn't work), we decided to give up on this best western and cut our stay to one night and move elsewhere. Tips to hotel... Train cleaning staff to actually clean surfaces and replace towels even if they are left folded on rack from previous guests, get rid of old blanket in between top sheets with new one, deoderize horrific smelling fridge and micro, don't use cheap air freshener to mask stink, get decent pillows and mattress toppers, replace wonkey doors that don't close right, and get WiFi set up so guests can use it with more then one bar weak signal. that should do it.
Stayed at this hotel for a couple of night over the weekend. It was a very pleasant stay. Great Breakfast. Hotel have many upgrades since my last visit about 3 years back. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.
We found a good deal on Expedia for three nights for our babymoon to Charleston (about $80/night). We soon realized that we should have just paid more for a better hotel. It started with the check in - we arrived at the hotel at 1:30am after a delayed flight, so needless to say we were exhausted. The two women at the front desk had no idea what they were doing and took 40 minutes to check us in. They couldn't figure out how to see if a room was already occupied in the computer and so had to go up to the room to see if it was cleaned and ready to go. The first room was smoky (although the hotel is non-smoking), so we had to go through the whole rigmarole again for another room. By the time we got into the room, we just wanted to sleep - fat chance of that happening! The highway noise is unbearable and the walls are so thin that we could hear the people above and next to us. In addition, the door to the bathroom was incredibly squeaky, so we had to leave it open during the night so we didn't wake each other if we managed to catch a few winks of sleep. Just FYI - this is with two white noise apps going. The noise didn't abate throughout the entire trip, so needless to say we arrived home more exhausted than we arrived to our trip for "rest and relaxation." Furthermore, the ladies at the front desk when we arrived the first night assured us that we could arrive to breakfast up to 10am and that they were slow to put the items away, but it was already half cleared when we arrived at 9:50 (since we had only been to bed a few hours prior). My husband also found a small roach in the bathroom. We were very disappointed with our experience and would definitely not recommend it to anyone.
the hotel was superb, better than the one we stayed in Cusco, Peru also a Best Western Majestic which did not have air condition or elevators for a person with 14 broken ribs and the air so thin at almost fourteen thousand feet above sea level which it makes it a little hard to breath going up and down to the third floor after walking the plaza, shops and the town
Very nice folks, especially Jodi. She helped me with my reservations and also checked me in. Made sure I had a room near a exit so I could step out and smoke. I will return here when I am back in this area.
The room was too cold, then too hot, then too cold again in the middle of the night so we did not sleep well. I cut and bruised my finger on the hairdryer because I did not notice the back of it had fallen off and the blades caught my hair, but cut my finger. The breakfast was not the best either and a couple were screaming and cussing at each other in the parking lot behind the place when were parking to check-in on a Monday night around 10pm. No bueno
Have not had luck with this chain lately. Very disappointed. Pet friendly yes. Walls are totally disgusting in every room. Mold in pictures. Just felt like I couldn't wait to leave as didn't sleep well at all. Pass this one up quickly if you want to sleep. Felt dirty when I left.
This hotel is extremely close to the interstate and a local highway. You will hear traffic all night. Also, during our stay there were lots of noisy people inside and out in the parking lot. It was not a holiday, so I don't know if this is the norm for them. Breakfast was good though!
Found this hotel through Travelocity - got it because of price. Arrived at 12:30am to be greeted by a very sweet and helpful Front Desk attendant (unfortunately didn't get her name). Called the next morning for a late check-out and was approved. We stayed 30 minutes longer than the late-check out time - but talked to the maid who was to clean our room and she told us it was not a problem - she had another room to clean then would do ours. Upon leaving the hotel manager, Elizabeth, informed me that I would be charged an additional $25 for the room - her maids were gone and she now could not rent out the room. I explained I had been granted a late checkout by the front desk - and cleared it with the maid, too. I told her again that I spoke with the maid and she was there & fine with us leaving when we did. She was rude and would not remove the charge. Beware!
This hotel is located just off of the highway. Check in was prompt. Room was nicely decorated with comfortable beds. The heated pool was an average size and clean. The pool towels were not at the pool but could be obtained at the front desk. Room had a small safe that was locked, called the front desk and was told that only management or maintenance could open the safe and neither were onsite. The next morning i went to the front desk to get towels for the pool and was told the pool was closed for the year. There were no signs posted that the pool was closed. The pool was under the second floor rooms and was open to the outdoors. The breakfast was good and well stocked.
I stayed here during a move from NJ to SC and after a long drive with my two dog. They had availability when other local hotels did not. They are also pet friendly. It was nice to be greeted by friendly staff who welcomed me and my two med-large dogs.
We stayed here for one night. The check-in was friendly. We got a room upstairs, but there was an elevator. Our room was clean an quiet. The free breakfast was good. There is a construction side in the hotel. We saw it but we didn't hear anything. Behind the building is an outdoor pool. We would stay here again!
Nice hotel, great location 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. Breakfast was good only complaint was the 100 for a dollar paper plates, assume this was a onetime situation. Friday night the hotel had booked a significant number of rooms, for a large group of football children with little to no adult supervision. They ran the halls on all floors with no supervision, screaming and hooting for an hour or more. At 11:10 PM I called the desk and was informed that they (one lady on staff) were trying to get the kids in their rooms, I said I am calling the police if it doesn't end quickly. Within 15 minutes things quieted noticeably. That the hotel was clearly under staffed, and that they had no active plan for this situation was obvious. Please continue to read: Saturday morning brought the exit of the children and their supposed supervision. Saturday night was pleasant and much quieter, later that evening I got sick from a meal at a national chain restaurant. The hotel front desk was caring and amazingly prompt in assisting all our needs for new linens and extra blankets. We would stay again after checking to see if they had any large groups with children booked. My only other issue was paper thin (sound wise) room doors allowing guests to hear any hallway conversation. The rooms were well equipped, clean and the bath room was large.
We stayed here to attend a wedding being held in Charleston. The rate was a lot less that if we'd stayed downtown Charleston and it was a very easy drive to get downtown. Located right off the interstate made it very convenient too. Renovations were ongoing but not an interference with our two night stay.
Another good Best Western. Clean, good size room with separat launch. Big TV, good and fast wifi. Good choice breakfast with lovely Granny Rosalyn taking personal care of the guests and making you feel welcome.
The room smelled like smoke and the bath tub was dirty. The front desk employees were extremely nice, but the breakfast staff was very rude. When I told the breakfast staff there was not any coffee left she snapped at me.
The people who work and run this Inn & Suites are what made this place so special for us.We missed our cruise out of Charleston and were lucky enough to be afforded the opportunity to tour and enjoy the wonderful city of Charleston, while continuing to stay at the Inn.The food, tourist attractions, people. It was such a great vacation we were quite happy that we missed our 5 day cruise.
excellent stay while visiting Charleston finest tourist location excellent hotel great service staff and workers was very great making my stay more enjoyable. The breakfast was excellent The staff did an excellent job preparing the meals the pool was great water temperatures was great also I would pass on to my friend of my comfortable stay while on business thanks to all the hotel staff.
Good overnight stay. Room was clean, Breaskfast had a good variety. Internet connection was good.. Pool was small but clean. there was some remodeling being done, but it did not affect our stay. With family nearby, it was a good choice for our stay.
I checked in on Friday, September 11, with my girlfriend. The person at the front desk was very pleasant and nice. My girlfriend and I were going on a cruise on Monday but we found out on Saturday that she had forgotten her passport and when it was sent to her she hadn't realized it was expired. Everyone at the front desk tried to help us to get on the cruise ship, but to no avail. We decided to make the best of it and toured Charleston from top to bottom. The staff gave us recommendations, helped us with reservations and were just amazing from the maids, to the kitchen folks, to the front desk manager, Lizzy, who nicknamed us - Thelma and Louise, to the manager himself. The beds were awesome; the room was clean, quiet and the amenities were good - refrigerator, safe, microwave and coffee. Everything was great - in fact, our second week was spent at a time share and we called them on Friday, Sept. 25, and we were able to get our same room and had the same great staff! Thanks to everyone! PS - there wasn't anything we liked least - it was all good!
Very enjoyable stay. Very pleasant staff and delicious breakfast. Will definitely stay again. Love that the pool is mostly covered allowing swimming out of the hot sun. Staff helpful about area events and locations.
Recent stay was okay. Room was okay, but, the one I stayed in also felt a bit empty. Flat screen TV was a bit small for the room and the extra space and dated fixtures made it feel like something was missing like an additional furniture hutch or a larger table, etc. Breakfast included was okay too. The usual eats such as assorted dried cereal, yogurt, seasonal fruit, waffle iron with batter, coffee/tea, etc. I did not have time to check out the on-site pool, but when I checked in I noticed lots of people by that area. For me it was okay for a quick stay, but other than that I probably would have been uncomfortable and wanting more amenities in the room.
There was mold in the shower, the room was very dusty/dirty, the elevator was broken upon arrival so we had to take the stairs (I understand that this is out of the hotel's control, but it is part of a long list of disappointments), the coffee pot was never cleaned from the previous guest(s), the noise level was very high (little noise insulation between rooms), and considering all this, the price was too high. On a positive note, the staff was friendly.
