Very comfortable, clean and convenient place to stay while we were in area to visit wildlife refuges. We weren't told about elevator to 2nd floor, so please enquire before you carry possessions up rather steep stairs. Staff was friendly. Everything was in good working order. We had room away from courtyard area which made it quieter than last stay, when there was a large party in that area and room had sliding glass door that opened to it. They give you a coupon for breakfast at family restaurant across parking lot, but also yogurt, fruit and granola bars in lobby if you wanted something different. The bistro restaurant across parking lot was easy to get to and food very good.
This hotel is a weird old design. The upstairs has no windows, just a sliding door that opens to a walkway over the inside courtyard, so you cannot have natural light without everyone seeing you get dressed. The mattress was good, only plus. The refrigerator did not work, so our cold food got warm, there were 2 conditioners instead of a shampoo, and the towels are really thin. If we are through here again we will not stay here.
If you are disabled – run do not walk from this motel/hotel. The sad thing is it is otherwise quite nice. It's a motel/hotel set up you can pull up right out front, the room is huge there's even a patio door to the outside; it is terrific. However. The people who own this establishment are, apparently ableist. They consider humiliating the disabled part of the fun of staying here. Why do I say this? The bathroom is terrific … except for the fact that it LACKS A BATHROOM DOOR. It is a curtain. A curtain that doesn't reach the sides and doesn't reach the floor. In a room with a double bed which means that they assume that two people are staying here. Why on EARTH would you stay at a hotel that disrespects you so much it doesn't put in a door? A bloody. Basic. Bathroom. Door. Every other hotel in every disability room has no trouble with a real door. If there's some reason that your standard door is a problem, there are French doors, there are louver doors … there are 1000 solutions and one call to any disability organization would provide them with a list. Do not stay here until they show respect to you and to me. This. Is. Not. It.
Our stay at the Best Western Angus Inn was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and orderly
My husband & I stayed 2 yrs ago when we had a water leak at home and again this time for a funeral. All staff friendly & helpful. Rooms are clean & associated restaurants good. Prices are great. Older motel & not real quiet but it's usually not an issue & we'll be back!
No need to stay anywhere else in Great Bend. The price is right, the staff is great and you get breakfast at the Perkins next door for a small upcharge. Plus, the staff at Perkins is great, too. There are quite a few selections available for breakfast and you won't leave hungry. Comes with coffee, juice, etc. Rooms at the Best Western are spacious and clean. The top rated restaurant in Great Bend is steps across the parking lot next to the Perkins. Freddy's Steakburgers is a few steps past those restaurants. Location is close to everything. Did not use the pool or hot tub, but others in our party did, as well as the pool table, and had a great time. Look no further than the Best Western Angus Inn for your stay in Great Bend.
The service at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The services that they provide for very nice, free breakfast at Perkins, fresh ground coffee 24 hours, bottles of water we're available , in the lobby, and we're offered at no cost. We stayed for two nights after the first night we found our room had been cleaned the beds made and fresh towels.
Update your tvs. They are small and yall only have basic cable and a DVD player? Who still has that? Upgrade to a tv that has streaming services like the rest of the world. Also my room had a leak previously and there was a huge black mold spot on the ceiling above the bed. Room smells like mold and moth balls. Also put a damn door on the bathroom just having a curtain is trashy. Not worth the money I spent staying here at all. Bed had dents in it and needs switched out.
The hotel itself has the older look of those big conference hotels, but the rooms are updated and peaceful. There were two things that really stood out for me, one was the staff made me feel welcome and not like an inconvenience and the breakfast at the restaurant that is included with the room fee is top notch! I will for sure continue staying at this hotel when I am in the area again for work.
This was one of the nicest, most accommodating motesl we stayed in on our road trip. The room was huge and very clean with updated (spot free) carpet and couch. We were given a free breakfast voucher with about 10 choices that we could us at the Perkins right next door. The staff was very friendly. The only thing that I could say was wrong was that the outside door had to be slammed to get it shut from the inside. There was an inside sliding door also that just needed to be tightened up a little. Other than that, the bed was comfy and it was a quiet spot to stay.
This hotel has a large parking lot for us trucker/large motor homes to park at when we are staying at the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable to have a relaxing stay . I like the discount card they give to us for staying at the hotel to be used at the restaurant next door. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your next stay when visit the area.
It is always a pleasure, a waste clean, never any issues. Staff is always nice and helpful. Breakfast is always great if you don't have time for regular breakfast at the restaurant. They always have yogu, hurt fruit and breakfast. Bars available complementary coffee and. Lattes also complimentary water we love to stay at the location
when you check there are no restrooms, coffee bottle water is available 24/7 but you have to go outside walk around the building to go back inside to get it same with the vending machines. On our room door the lock was broke.
Room was good TV was great and I slept great. Great Bend has big town feel with a small town feeling with the people. Very kind and make you feel wanted and glad to are here and thank you for stopping here.
Hotel rooms that center around courtyard are plagued by nightly swimming pool activity, community TV noise, arcade games and people drinking and playing pool. Quiet hours are posted but not adhered to.
Check in was smooth. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The mini-fridge was generous in size. The walls were good sound barriers; we never heard any road noise. The pool was clean and was kept at a comfortable swim temperature. The hot tub was relaxing. The pool table and game area was a bonus for the kids. As for food, there are many places to eat near the hotel. In fact, guests are given a breakfast voucher for the Perkins that shares a parking lot with the hotel. All in all, it was a great place to stay, and we will be back to stay again.
We stayed with our dog for a class reunion. The hotel had been updated and the room decor and color was comfortable and welcoming. Everything worked in the room, it was relatively quiet for being on a main highway, the bed was very comfortable, and the pet area was convenient. Two restaurants are available across the parking lot with a good menu variety.
Great stay at this hotel - it's basic and not fancy but was very clean and the people at the front desk were so nice. You get a certificate for a free breakfast at Perkins right across the parking lot, and there is another great restaurant across the parking lot for dinner.
All channels were fuzzy. Lock on glass door was broken. Staff was notified but did not take any action. No credit on bill. No "I'm sorry, would you like another room." Zero acknowledgement of the inconvenience, let alone the unsafe feeling.
I found this motel was great from reservations to check out. People were very helpful and friendly. I really appreciate the interaction with the people on the phone and in person. I had a glitch on my end and the people at the desk were helpful and engaging.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife was having surgery and although your facility was close to the hospital, it was not the closest. It was the cleanest and most reasonable, and still not far from the hospital. We look at three other facility before choosing yours and we're very satisfied.
A clean & comfortable place to stay. The motel is next to a resturant that has very good food and friendly people working there. We stay at this motel every time we are in the Great Bend area. I would recommend it to any one.
This is truly a pet friendly hotel! Pet fees were reasonable, not like most hotels are nowadays. A very convenient and clean pet area. It's an older hotel, but very clean, comfortable and up to date with USB plugs.
I booked three rooms through Priceline for my family while we were in town for a family reunion. My mom had called before our arrival date to confirm we had three rooms. We got to the motel to check in and lo and behold we only had two rooms, not three. But my mom had previously called and confirmed the rooms, 3 days before I had an itinerary emailed to me from Priceline verifying our three rooms. Once we got there, only 2 rooms and the clerk couldn't quite figure out what happened and proceeded to make up some crazy story of our my room was canceled. It was only after we had checked in and tempers were cooled did they finally admit another person with my same common last name called to cancel their room and a clerk at the motel canceled mine instead, not bothering to get a first name I guess. Mistakes happen, sure, but next time the motel needs to verify first and last names before they cancel someone's reservation. They ended up buying our dinner at The Page, the restaurant across the parking lot. Even though we booked three rooms together, our motel rooms were on opposite floors and sides of the motel which was a little inconvenient. The room on the 1st floor, the a/c never got the room really cool despite being on 66. The beds were soft, which I liked, but all of us hated the pillows they were as flat as a sheet of paper. There is no continental breakfast, but the motel provides vouchers for a free breakfast at Perkins across the parking lot, which was good but very crowded when we went. They also had granola bars, apples and yogurt in the office, and complimentary coffee and water. The pool is nice and large, the hot tub is big too but water was scalding hot. The pool is also open until 11 pm, which would be great but every year we go there seems to be another family reunion that congregates in the courtyard area. So there's a dozen or more kids running around at all times, rambunctious boys throwing a football and splashing everyone and dominating the pool making it harder if you have little ones. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend so all the motels are full and places are limited.
Wonderful guest experience! Cody at the front desk was personable, friendly, and so helpful! The lobby offers 24/7 free coffee, expresso, latte, hot chocolate machine and complimentary bottled water. The hotel was older but we'll maintained, clean, and comfortable with a nice pool and jacuzzi. They do not have in-house breakfast but you are provided a voucher for a complimentary restaurant breakfast at Perkins (just across the parking lot). A hot, made to order breakfast beats a hotel buffet breakfast hand down anytime! The restaurant and sports bar/grill across the lot also give a 10% discount to hotel patrons. I travel all over the state for work and this was one of the best hotel stays I have experienced. Would definitely stay again!
Found the motel to be very comfortable for a couple, for a family, and/or for a large family reunion. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Instead of having a self-serve breakfast buffet, they have a breakfast menu of 10-12 choices at the Perkins Restaurant adjoining the BW parking lot. Both Perkins and the adjoining bistro (Page) offer 10% discount with your room card. From our 1st floor guest room, we could park in front of the room, which made loading/unloading SO much easier. We could also access the indoor pool and sauna and large conference/meeting room from the sliding door. We would definitely stay there again.
I went with my wife to celebrate my anniversary and I had gotten the king jacuzzi but instead got a king bathtub. My wife and I were not happy at all and I was very disappointed. I would not recommend this room to anyone looking for a jacuzzi in room.
Wonderful !!! Everyone on staff was friendly & helpful. Both check in & out were quick & EZ. Kudos to Carol Anne, Cody & Edgar for excellent customer service. Appreciate pulling right up to my own door, making transporting luggage, cooler etc. so much easier than maneuvering unwieldy cart down long, carpeted hallway. Room was clean & comfortable. Fridge/micro & free wifi w/ample signal strength. Left out early so didn't partake of free breakfast @ Perkins next door but did enjoy the cappuccino available in the lobby. Will definitely be my 1st choice in Great Bend & highly recommend.
There was no disappointment with this stay. The room was clean, the courtyard was clean and the pool and hot tub area was just a few steps away. The breakfast is provided by the restaurant next door and it was also amazing.
From the Front Desk staff to Housekeeping and especially the GM, all were in sync operating as a team to exceed all of our expectations. Having two restaurants steps across the parking lot was a huge advantage and provided plenty of menu and beverage choices. Outstanding stay!
The best part of this stay was the clean, quiet room, and pool w/ jacuzzi and superior breakfast. Very nice staff and proper conversation. I will stay here every time I come back to this area. Thank You
This is a good place to stay. Definitely above average. It's nice and clean and has everything you need. It has outside doors and you can park in front of your room. There are two restaurants right next door, in the same parking lot. When you check in the motel they give a coupon for free breakfast at the Perkins Restaurant, also next door. The lady at the front desk was very nice. The room had actual hard-wired plug in internet, as well as wifi.
I was promptly greeted by Cody and Ethan at check in. Check in was smooth. Check out was ho-hum. The bed was comfortable. This hotel offers exterior corridors and if you're lucky enough, you can park right outside your room, unless some big dually truck parks outside your room and takes up 3 parking spaces. The hotel also offers adjoining rooms if needed. I stayed here for 2 very miserable nights. The misery started about 30 minutes after getting settled into my room. The room behind me had a dog in it. I listened to that dog bark for 3 hours. I'm not sure if the dog was left unattended or what, but I felt really bad for that dog! Thankfully this only happened during the first night! At about 9PM on the first night, a family checked into the room next to me. The family consisted of 2 adults (parents I would think) and 4 small children, 2 years to about 10 years (not sure what the occupancy limits are for 2 queen beds). The oldest boy immediatedly started throwing a ball against the wall. You could hear the parents yelling at him to stop, but that's all they would do. The toddler cried and cried to the point that the father put the crying/screaming child into their truck and let the kid continue. At some point within the first 30 minutes, one of the kids opened the adjoining door in their room and started knocking on my door. The kid kept trying to get my door to open. Then the kids started pounding on the wall. I waited until 1005PM before I called the front desk and was told that quiet time doesn't start until 11ish. I endured another hour of this nonsense with the family next door only to be told at 11PM that they would "try" to talk with the guests. Never happened. This continued until 1AM. I was woke up at 6AM the next morning to the same misbehaved kids/parents. All the parents could do was yell at those kids. Honestly, I could go on and on about this family. All of this was a repeat for my 2nd miserable night and the front desk still did nothing! On my 2nd night, in addition to the family next door, I had a 40 something couple in the other room. All they did was argue all night. Instead of calling the Holiday Inn Express to try and get a room there (they were sold out for the weekend), I probably should have called the police. I will also say that I spoke with the Grandparents of the family next door when I was checking out. I had said that they were "loud" and the grandmother immediately said "well, nobody complained, so they couldn't have been that loud". I didn't want to get into with her, but I did say that I had called the front desk a few times on both nights and she said that nobody from the front desk contacted her son about any noise. Our talk basically occurred because the son had put the crying/screaming little girl into the truck (again) so nobody could hear her throwing a fit. He asked what we were talking about and I said they were exceptionally loud and he reiterated that nobody from the hotel said a thing to him. Now, about breakfast. You are given a voucher for the Perkins Restaurant across the parking lot. Fantastic, or so I thought. I stayed a Friday and Saturday night, so this meant breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning. The wait time was in excess of 30 minutes both mornings (not at all surprised). I chose to go back to the lobby and try the grab and go breakfast. They had a few disgusting, manhandled bananas out both mornings and bottles of water, but nothing more. I have stayed here in the past, but I definitely will not stay here again. Again, bed was comfortable. Room was pretty clean. The walls are paper thin and if you get some loud people in the room next to you, or even behind you, you're going to have a tough time sleeping. I do not recommend this hotel, even for 1 night!
We stayed here because my husband had stayed before a few times when visiting his family. I will say that the staff we met (Ethan and Cody) were very nice and patient as we switched rooms after looking at one that smelled upon check in. Note: this hotel is very old and the majority of the rooms have the old style outside door entrance on the parking lot however there are a few upstairs that have an inside hallway entrance possibly due to past structure remodel of a roof being put over a wing and pool area at some point in history. The room was ok but old and also had an odd damp smell but not as strong as the first. The AC unit is in the ceiling above the room entrance, has old style metal intake grill so we could see how dirty the pleated filter was. The beds were okay but mine had a slight sag and the coverings were thin and sparse. These rooms need a refresh, but I think some of the bottom floor exterior rooms have been done already because a friend of ours also stayed one night in one of those and it was very nice, clean and smelled good. This is not a corporately owned facility according to the receipt. Honestly I would have stayed at the brand new Holiday Inn Express down the highway but it was $140 and no free breakfast vs. our $94 and a voucher for free breakfast at Perkins across the parking lot which was very good.
Staff is amazing, daily room service, but the actual room needs redone. Stained carpet and damp smelling. The location is great, 2 restaurants and a bar across parking lot. For the quality of the room, i would not stay again.
I had to be in Great Bend for business. I stopped several weeks before while driving through Great Bend and checked on rates and got details about the hotel. Two restaurants are next to the hotel that I have eaten lunch & dinner at on other day trips to Great Bend. I was impressed with the courtesy of the person at the front desk-Lacey. When I came back for 2 days of business I choose to stay and was Happy I picked this hotel. The rooms are nice. Comfortable beds. Clean rooms. Lacey and Carol Ann are Professional and Courteous! Free Breakfast at Perkins is a plus! I will stay again!
If we are ever back in the area we will be back. The staff was very friendly and professional. The breakfast was good. The hotel was vey clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The lobby area was great and had plenty of room for people to hang out at.
The Best Western Angus in Great Bend, KS has it all! The staff is friendly & helpful, there is a huge gathering area for group events, there's a pool, hot tub, workout room and laundry area. The place is clean & the price is a good value.
We were very pleasantly surprised by this property. Our rooms were very clean and nicely appointed, as well as updated too. Breakfast vouchers were offered at the restaurant next door so it was nice having a freshly prepared breakfast. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit the area.
The staff be sure our request for all family members be together was done. Each room was clean, everything worked and that we knew about the food discount. Location was easy to find and plenty of free parking. Had a indoor swimming pool and fitness center which was clean and easy to use.
I honestly don't have anything but positive things to say about our stay. Our room was very clean, breakfast was good (voucher to eat at Perkins), and guest service was extremely nice and helpful! Would highly recommend!
We come to Best Western Angus Inn at least once a year for our family events. We can always count on great service, clean, comfortable room, and a very caring staff. Our family also reserves the courtyard area once a year for a large gathering, and is always perfect for us!
We've stayed at the Angus Inn a number of times over the past few years both with a dog and this time without one. The rooms have always been clean and pretty quiet. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast that's included is at the Perkins across the parking and is a nice change from the normal motel breakfast bar. The Angus Inn is a pretty darn good place to stay.
Every year I meet my brother and 20+ guys for their annual hunting trip in November. They come from all over the United States. I don't hunt but this location is about 5 hours from me so I drive there to visit my brother from California. The guys are all gone during the day. I am in "my" honeymoon suite all alone in heaven with a Jacuzzi tub. I enjoy 4 days of bliss in a beautiful room. I go to the zoo, read, drink tons of coffee and simply enjoy doing whatever I want till the guys get back and then we meet in the Courtyard area to eat and party. The staff are wonderful and always in a good mood. They work hard to accommodate the guest's needs. I look forward to coming here every year.
The staff is wonderful, rooms immaculate, beds very comfortable. Loved the ready coffee, hot chocolate, and fresh fruits on hand in the office at all times. Best of all is the breakfast at Perkins. Dinner at the little restaurant next door was delicious and convenient also.
This was probably the most unsecured hotel we stayed at in 2-1/2 week of travel. None of the exterior doors have locks. The office however does have a lock. The hotel appears to be an 80's style La Quinta hotel. Entrance from the outside and entrance from a hallway. The room appeared to be clean with ample room for 2 queen beds. The beds however were over used with indentations and sagging. At 8 pm we were disturbed with someone BANGING on our door from the hallway. It was not a knock, it was Banging. They did this several times until I went to the door to inquire. The person on the other side said they had something for me. I told them to leave it at the office as I was not going to open the door. They finally left. We did not feel safe after that. We left in the early morning. Breakfast we were told was going to be in a paper bag.
This is a curiously designed hotel. Suspect it may have been expanded throughout the years. Most rooms have outside entry. There are interior entry rooms, some of which open onto a very large two-story banquet room while a handful open onto an interior hallway. Hotel is centrally located on a street that is busy during the day but has very little traffic at night. We had a very quiet interior hallway room at the back of the building.. Room was decent sized, sink area compact, bathroom more generous. Comfortable beds, nice fluffy towels. We did have an issue with the bathroom light which sometimes didn't want to turn on. Bathroom hook on the back of the door was not secure and fell off as soon as something was hung on it. Both relatively minor issues and would not prevent us from staying here again. Very pleasant staff. Very nice perk was coupon for breakfast at the Perkins next door. At least half a dozen menu options and a beverage included. Sure made a nice change from your typical "breakfast included" hotel option!
Best Western Angus Inn in Great Bend is spacious and nice with guest meeting amenities, a great fitness center, and pool. I meet here annually with a group of professional colleagues. The hotel accommodates our large group and provides us with a fantastic recreational area to gather and socialize. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend the Best Western Angus Inn if you're planning a stay in Great Bend!
From start to finish our stay was pleasant! The staff is friendly and honestly care that you are their guests. The coffee made with freshly ground beans is better than any we've had at any hotel (Omni included)!! The room was very fresh and clean with everything we needed. We'll be back during hunting season.
Nice central location, good well lit parking, friendly front desk. Overall the rooms need much more and brighter overhead lighting. Would be nice to have the safety of using your room key to enter the side doors
Friendly staff quickly checked me in and out during my visit. Rooms clean and beds comfortable. Lighting is a little weak, but that is same at most hotels. Breakfast available at Perkins restaurant next door to hotel.
The Best Western Angus Inn in Great Bend is a throwback motel. You can drive up to the rooms. The rooms are roomy with a couch and a small sitting area. The bath and vanity area is more old-fashioned. SInk and vanity outside and toilet and bath-shower in a small room adjacent. The motel has a large indoor pool and hot tub which was enjoyable. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in was smooth and efficient. The motel is located across from a Perkins restaurant and the Page on American Bistro. We only ate at the Perkins--supper and breakfast which were excellent. Showing your room cared gets you a 10% discount either for lunch or dinner. Staying that the Angus Inn gets you free breakfast at Perkins. The only mild complaint is that the walls are a bit thin. , and we could hear voices and tv. However, that would not deter me from staying here again. This is a great find in a small town.
We were so impressed with the service, friendliness, cleanliness, and quality. The complementary coffee, water, and food were excellent and appreciated. Comfortable beds and roomy rooms. Excellent experience. We have already booked another stay.
If you need a place to stay, cannot go wrong here. Newly redecorated courtyard 2 bed room with frig and coffee. Plenty of room in courtyard if want to chat with others in your party, but ask if space reserved. Nice pool and computer, coffee, yogurt, fruit, granola bars in lobby. Best was slip for free breakfast across the parking lot with five choices and could order to go or just request part of your meal to go, muffins are warm and big. Those folks are so nice to customers. Hotel front desk readily accommodated our request to check out an hour late. I never say perfect, but nothing could have been improved.
Booked online with no problem. Got to the BW at about 6 PM and the check in went perfect. The room was neat and clean and the bed was quite comfortable. We had an outside entrance and were able to park 10 feet from our car. Getting things in the room was simple. The shower was excellent. Good water pressure and hot. Just the way I like it. The motel is somewhat dated but it is well maintained. A good refrigerator and freezer with sizable space is in the room and both allowed reasonably cold temperatures. Another plus. A pleasant stay and highly recommended.
This property has some age, but is maintained very well and is still an excellent place to stay. I MUCH prefer rooms with digital wall thermostats for more accurate temperature control - which this property has. During my 3-days stay the outside weather went from upper 70's with intense sun to lower 40's, cloudy with a rain/snow mix. The room environment was consistent regardless of outside conditions. Poolside crowd noise was a concern one evening, but I flipped the HVAC fan on constant and had no more noise issues.
We have stayed here before and work our trips around this hotel when we travel. Just an overall great experience from checking in to the clean room and great breakfast option. Staff is professional, helpful and knowledgeable.
Everything was lovely and the two restaurants next door were wonderful. We were happy with everything and the kids had fun in the pool and playing the video games. The mattress was surprisingly comfortable and everything was very clean.
Supposed to be a non-smoking my room smelled horrible dirty and smoke I had to use my febreze to help with the smell, dirty shower and the carpet was nasty didn't even wanted to walk bare foot the next morning to top it all off found bedbugs on my bed and behind the headboard very unpleasant experience
Horrible experience, The toilet was broke, the fan was not working correctly in the bathroom in very very loud, the room had a horrible odor and felt very dirty. The gentleman working the front desk when we came in was very polite, friendly, no complaints at all with the front lobby people. It was just the room was nothing to be desired.
Good amenities. Clean. Nice towels. Nice size rooms. Nice, professional, accommodating staff. Beds could be upgraded, it was a little rough. At least in the room I was in. I would definitely stay again when in the area.
Become a Best Western rewards member. It's free and you are treated with extra's and I don't travel a lot. This place comes with a coffee machine in the lobby that serves coffee, espresso... etc. They also have free bottled water, fresh fruit and lot's of nice little extra's but now they also offer breakfast vouchers at Perkins restaurant so you always have a hot breakfast of your choice. I rate the sleep quality a little lower only because I'm super fussy and I prefer the Beautyrest by Simmons that Choice hotels and Holiday in use. They just don't make my back ache as much.
Pool was cold and not enjoyable. Disappointing for myself and kids. Toilet in our room ran constantly the entire 2 night stay. Battery was low in our thermostat. Musty smell in our room. Staff could have been a little more accommodating. I think overall at $100+ a night it could have been better. Don't recommend.
This is a modern, clean, up to date place with great amenities and a top-notch staff. In Great Bend, I won't stay anywhere else! The fitness center, pool and hot tub provide welcome relaxation and the food at Perkins (next door) is awesome!
Very nice folks that take pride in their property! Older property, but extremely well maintainted and up to date. I initially went to the Holiday Inn Express, but they were full. Being an older property, I had my reservations. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Great Bend!
We appreciate the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff who checked us in. The room was nicely furnished, clean, comfortable and affordable. We appreciate having a decent place to stay at a reasonable price. Thank you.
Great place to stay always very friendly and they have made many improvements. THIS is my place to stay on business trips. Everything you need for business is right there, once you arrive you never have to leave .
Everything was wonderful! Wonderful room, pool area, and courtyard. My nephew really enjoyed his stay. Thank you very much for everything. Will definitely be back. Also love the free breakfast that is offered.
We stayed at this motel several times over the past 5 years. It is an older motel that has been very well kept up and is quite clean and comfortable. We have stayed in the past for a class reunion and their facilities to accommodate us were excellent. They are next door to an excellent restrurant and lounge and their included breakfast is there. The staff was friendly, and they are obviously proud of their business and their community.
Rooms are very nice for the price. Excellent free breakfast at perkins next door. Great coffee in the motel lounge. Speedy check in and checkout. Very nice help throughout the motel. And if you needed anything they took care of it right away. Just a overall great place to stay.
Had a family get together there an everything an everyone had great time will definitely be doing lt again next year. Rooms were conveniently located by the area we were holding the event. They had my room cleaned early for me. An the staff was wonderful
Stay often on business. Location is close to restaurants and shopping. Clean comfortable rooms. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. Plenty of parking for work truck. Highly recommend for business or pleasure.
Everything was good, happy people, clean rooms, Perkins muffins in lobby, Expresso machine in lobby, parking very close to room, open court yard made getting together with friends easy, good location on main road
The hotel is centrally-located in Great Bend and the perfect place for hunters to stay. They have a garage on the north end of the property for cleaning pheasants, and freezers to store game. They are pet-friendly, with a nice indoor pool and hot tub. The parking lot is shared with a Perkins restaurant and a great bistro/bar called The Page that has fantastic steaks. The staff is friendly and responsive, and there is a very convenient (and actually great-tasting) automatic espresso drink maker in the lobby which is available 24 hrs per day. You can pull your vehicle right up to the rooms on the east side of the hotel on the first floor, making unloading gear very easy. I will definitely stay here again.
We stay at Angus Inn of Great Bend every year for opening weekend for pheasant season. We have always felt comfortable there. They go out of their way to make us feel right at home. Almost like visiting family. I recommend the Angus Inn to everyone.
Nice staff; adequate room; terrible breakfasts with no hot foods! A hot breakfast should be included with a $95.00 price tag! House cleaning didn't leave replacement towels the second day! We wouldn't recommend this motel!
The room was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was very clean and well stocked with towels. Breakfast was at the near by Perkins the menu choices were very good.. There is a nice gathering room with a tv available. Only problem was that the noise from children playing was very loud in our room, but we turned the tv up to cover it.
Friendly front desk staff, very accommodating. Clean room and spacious. Comfortable rooms, bed. Like the remote in the bag showing it's cleaned. Plenty of hot water. Best thing was the friendliness and good pet policy.
This was by far the best motel we stayed in on our trip. Clean comfortable and plenty of ammenities. Clerks were very friendly and helpful. Definitelystay here again. The beds were great as was the shower.
Hotel is nice, well maintained. Can walk next door for food and drinks. Two different places. Show them your room key and they give you 10% off of your meal. Very quite, place and locally owned. I will stay there again.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful! The room was quaint! Breakfast was provided at the adjacent restaurant! I would recommend this property to others who are in need of a great experience.
This is an older remodeled motel which offers many choices. Inside entrance or outside entrance. There is a Perkins restaurant right in the parking lot, and the Paige restaurant is right beside it. It is so convenient and everything is very, very nice!
Our stay at Best Western Angus inn was horrible! The courtyard is rented out for parties and it is extremely loud! By the time the parties wind down, as a paying guest you do not get to enjoy any of the amenities onsite. Hot tub and pool had turned cloudy all 3 nights we stayed due to 20+ children using it for 8 hours during their party. There needs to be one dedicated day for the parties to be held, and let guests be informed. I could of handled 1 night of it, but 3 days of it starting at 1 and going to 11 is too much!
We used the Hotel for vacation. It was a great stay and you received a voucher for Perkins next door. Big game room and pool. KFC and local resturants next door. Very friendly staff. The hotel was clean and well staffed.
I travel for work every week of the year and I have never received better customer service! The ladies at the front desk were so wonderful and constantly making sure I was comfortable. This location was nice and clean and the 24/7 coffee bar was a big plus!
We were there for a Reunion and the Area is large and spacious plenty of room to move around tables & chairs. The faclilites are updated location is great..Service Staff took care of all needs.. Did not incur any problems
We stayed 1 night on our way through for vacation couldn't have been more perfect, clean comfortable and quite a nice partnership they have with Perkins right next door we received a voucher for dinner discount and a voucher for complimentary breakfast. Very well thought out!!
Good clean and reasonably priced place to stay while you are visiting all the historical sites in the area. Fort Larned, Pawnee Rock, Great Bend B29 training base from the WWII era, wetlands migratory route and several other sites. Breakfast is served at the Perkins restaurant next door plus several good restaurants close by.
This is the only place we stay in Great Bend. Super clean and friendly staff with great amenities! We enjoy the area as well as it has many things to enjoy and to see. This hotel has a pool, game area and an area where our family gathers for reunions.
My mom and I stopped here for the night while we were passing through. It wasn't anything special but it was clean, comfortable, and safe which was the only things we were looking for. They have food vouchers to eat at Perkins across the street for free which was a nice bonus.
I am a repeat visitor to Best Western-Angus Inn in Great Bend, KS. They have consistent customer service. The entire hotel is clean and kept up: lobby, outside, pool area, meeting area, and rooms. The front desk staff has been helpful when asked for advice on area restaurants and to correct problems. I had issues with Netflix and they were quick to send someone down to take care of it. The hotel is centrally located in the city and it was easy to travel to my destinations.
We stopped after birding at Cheyenne Bottoms. This is the 4th time over several years we have stayed here. It is always clean, well kept and provides great service. Free breakfast at Perkins across the parking lot is a wonderful plus. We will certainly be stopping here when in Great Bend. PS it has lots of Pokémon!
I've stayed at the Angus Inn around ten times in the last year. Every time the stay has been excellent. The rooms are first rate, the staff are accommodating, and the location is convenient to local restaurants and shopping. The Inn does'nt offer the usual breakfast bar. Instead they offer a discounted breakfast coupon for the major chain breakfast restaurant across the parking lot. Additionally, there is an excellent restaurant/steak house adjacent to the breakfast restaurant. I always look forward to my return to the Angus Inn.
All of the staff we interacted with by phone and in person were so friendly and accommodating and helpful. It was VERY clean and comfortable. We were assigned a room that was pet friendly on the ground floor near the specified pet area. We especially appreciated the courtesy shuttle taking me back and forth to the RV service shop several blocks away! It was so convenient to have two very nice restaurants in the shared parking area.
The Staff at this Best Western went above and beyond my expectations, the rooms are clean, and the noise was minimal. I didn't get to use any of the ameneties, but they looked really nice. I would have given this a 5 but the beds were to hard for me, and there was a gap around the door that you could see daylight through. Over all I would come back to the motel.
This hotel was okay, price wasn't terribly expensive. Room was clean and roomy. It had a strong chemical smell which I think may have been from repairs or remodeling. Parking was a bit tight on the East side of the building but the outside facing doors were nice to have. Over all the hotel was okay and clean for a night.
I always enjoy staying at Best Western Angus Inn. Employees are all friendly and helpful! An older location but very well maintained! Location is very close to places to various places to eat, with a Perkins and lounge (The Page) on site.
This is the place to stay if you are in the area. Nice Clean rooms with everything you need. It has a restaurant across the parking lot you can walk to. Next to that is a Perkins for breakfast. If you want you can walk to Freddy's behind Perkins. The hotel has new carpet and plenty of room to stretch. It also has a great indoor pool and hot tub.
After a very warm and informative welcome from Tony, we went exploring. Our room # 165 has entry from an inside hallway and from the parking lot. We were able to park our car right at the door for easy unloading. The pet area was close as well...just across a side street. This BW has Netflix so that was a nice bonus. The room had a stuffy smell that bothered my husband more than me. I was happy to see a magnifying mirror over the sink and I thought the room was clean. Breakfast is complimentary at Perkins next door but coffee is available 24/7 in the lobby. This BW doesn't connect by hallways to the lobby...rather an older model. The fitness room needed fresh cleaning wipes and a water dispenser refill but it was adequate. Because of a large court yard it seems to be a good place for large groups.
So for the price, this was a good place to stay. I was provided a voucher for breakfast at Perkins across the parking lot.. Decor is standard for a Best Western so don't expect anything fancy. Rooms were clean and spacious. Shower head in my room could've used a little cleaning but not a big deal as water pressure was still good..I got a room on the second floor so that I didn't get a room whose door opened up directly to the outside...stayed for 1 night and for the price was worth it.
Great personnel and the beds are quite comfortable. They do not have a "motel breakfast bar", but, we received a breakfast coupon for the Perkins Restaurant next door at check-in. Perkins serves hot, made to order, breakfast. It is more pleasing to be seated and served rather than standing in line at a precooked, microwaved, fast food, motel breakfast food line from steam heated tables. They do have muffins (from Perkins), snack bars, water, fruit, yogurt, & coffee in the lobby.
Stayed overnight. Right on highway. Nice staff. Adjacent to Perkins, motel provides a discount. Clean hotel. A little noisy, but comfortable. Very “light” breakfast. Yogurt, muffins, coffee machine. Convenient location, but a little overpriced for the value.
Excellent stay and a very friendly, helpful staff. Rapid check in, good parking, appealing spacious room, very clean room and bathroom, very friendly room keeper, good continental breakfast, well maintained pool, rapid check out. Easy to access conference center next door. Discount at adjacent Perkins was a nice additive.
Easy check in and out. Nice clean hotel. Good location. Clean comfortable room. Noise room located next to indoor court yard. No breakfast have to get a coupon for Perkins next door. I wasn't told about that when I check in. Other wise had a nice stay. Stayed two nights.
The room was clean and functional, the fitness center was clean with adequate eqpt., the breakfast package with Perkins was a nice change from most hotel breakfast bars, and the staff was most courteous. Add a unique coffee/espresso machine and free muffins and water in the lobby. Bottom line: the value for the money I've seen in years.
The hotel has definitely been renovated recently. The rooms reflect a modern sensibility with minifridges, and microwave, as well as a modern bathroom. The hotel also shares a parking lot with two restaurants. The breakfast at Perkins was exactly what you expect from a Perkins. The other restaurant, The Page, was absolutely phenomenal.
We booked few hours before arrival and they accommodated us. Ground floor exterior room and parked car right in front of our door, which made carrying in our luggage easy. Front desk staff friendly. Got discount at restaurant next door by showing our motel key. Fresh baked Perkins muffins from next door for breakfast.
Stayed here our last night of vacation so it was our 12th night on the road. Our favorite. Clean, quiet, close to restaurants and a great staff. Wish we could have spent a couple more nights. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling for work or pleasure.
Older hotel, must be the reason for low price. Noisy in room, outside entry doors don't seal good, can see daylight all around doors. If you are on a tight budget then this might be the place for you, if you want a nicer quality room look elsewhere. I won't stay again if I have a choice. Not much more to say.
This is the first time I have stayed in Great Bend, this is a very clean hotel. This hotel is very family oriented big atrium area with ping pong. The room was very nice with a balcony looking out onto the atrium and indoor pool area. The breakfast was very good at the restaurant next door. They give you a food voucher for breakfast.
Comfortable and good value. No issues during our stay. Very convenient location. Excellent wifi signal and excellent internet speed. Bananas muffins and fruit cereal bars for breakfast offered onsite, the Perkins restaurant in same parking lot with great options and affordable pricing. Beds seemed comfy, ac worked excellent. Check in and out was fast.
Overall very pleased with my stays at this hotel, always friendly staff and the whole property is clean and neat not just the rooms. I would highly recommend staying at this Best Western any time while visiting Great Bend, Kansas.
Stayed here again this year for a weekend of baseball. Greeted by friendly staff, clean room, and conveniently located near a variety of eating places. Has a nice meeting area and indoor pool. Thanks again BWAI.
I've stayed here before. It is convenient and comfortable. Just a bit dated in construction, and somewhat noisy because it is right on the main road through Great Bend. I would stay here again when visiting family in the area mainly because I belong to BW Rewards, and the fact that the Perkins restaurant nearby is also very good.
This is my go to hotel when I'm in the area. It is clean. Well priced and had excellent food chioces. I also like that part of it is motel and part hotel. I like parking right outside my door! But if that's not for you they have rooms that don't have outside doors too.
We stayed in Great Bend because we were attending a graduation in LaCrosse and there were no rooms available closer. My kids and I really enjoyed the pool, the game room and especially the in-room Netflix! We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
The room was large and had plenty of furniture, and the sink was outside of the shower area. The decor looked fairly new, and everything was very clean. We didn't hear any noise, although the place seemed to be nearly full. The mattress was comfortable, but all of the pillows were fat. My husband prefers a flat pillow, but he survived. For the price, it would seem that there could be more breakfast offered than a muffin, but there are a lot of places to eat nearby. We did use the 10% discount offered at the Perkins next door for dinner, and that was convenient.
This hotel was wonderful clean customer service was great. As for that review that gave them a one star. Those are the unhappy people that will find something wrong anywhere they stay. Great location walked down the street to a great place to eat. We highly recommend it.
This hotel is worthy of a motel 6 name not Best Western. The breakfast was a choice of muffin, granola bar, piece of fruit, and bottle of water. You could get a 5.00 off coupon at the restaurant next door for an uncharged of course. This is a 50.00 a night hotel not 90.00. I will drive two hours out of my way to avoid this place.
I had a pleasent stay in Great Bend last weekend. The room was nice size. Bed was comforable. Price was very good, Had a nice open aread in the middle of the Hotel. Indoor Pool and Spa was nice. Kids will enjoy shooting pool and playing ping pong.
Our "non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke. When I told the receptionist, she said "yes, and we charge them $100 dollars". Asked if I wanted any air freshener. It felt like I was in a room full of smokers-my chest and lungs hurt. The room was dark and run down. Very unpleasant experience.
I stayed in a nice room with the usual comforts. Breakfast is not included, however the motel lobby had fresh baked muffin from Perkins and hot coffee. The indoor pool was very large. The motel room key card provides for 10% off food bill at two restaurants next door.
Be careful of the amount they hold on your debit card. We stayed there 2 nights that totaled $214.02, which has processed. In addition to that, 5 days later they still have a hold on our accounts of $338.17 for 2 nights. I've never had holds on my account stay this long either or be that excessive. The hotel was ok but nothing great.
Will never stay in the back side of the hotel. Rooms terrible I have stayed here before and never this bad. This is one one of two good hotels to stay at. Need to be doubled checked by upper management to make sure all is done right.
The people are nice, the room I clean but you need to get up very very early to get a hot shower or take a show in the evening. The location is very good, it's on the main road through town. There is a restaurant and a bar that share the parking lot and the hotel offers discount coupons to both of these.
Old holidome style with interior and exterior room entrances and large indoor atrium area . Low street noise. Bar and grill right next door with great food. Not many places left like this at this value price. Room for trailer parking but didn't see any semi parking. Will return.
We had a celebration and used the Courtyard. Set up was nice and good space. There ended up being two other parties invading our party. Pool area was nice. Nice to have discount for restaurant next door. Overall good stay.
This hotel is great for a quick stay. It lacks some of the features that other hotels cover. (Breakfast, Cocktails) It is outdated and a bit cumbersome to navigate to the rooms. Overall the staff is great and the rooms are adequate.
Felt very welcome when we checked in. We had originally booked 2 rooms - 1 for us and the other for elderly parents but turned out that they were not able to travel with us to family wedding. When I checked in the lady at the desk told us that they had done everything that they could to make our stay comfortable for both parties. Told her I was sorry but parents weren't able to attend.
Booked the room several weeks prior to my stay on a busy holiday so rate was quite good. Location is OK but basically downtown. Parking is OK even with a trailer if you get there early. Early checkout was good for me as I like to get on the road before most drivers. Externally, the business looks as good or better than other motels in this price point in the area. I already knew there was no breakfast but a coffee pot in the lobby would have gone a long way with my morning. Those tiny cups in the room don't go far.
My family has been meeting in Great Bend for opening season for pheasant hunting for 26 years. The last 10 we have stayed at the Best Western Angus Inn and will not ever change! Lacy Bryan, Manager, has been so very helpful over the years and has provided exemplary Customer Service. It is very easy to do business with her and you know things will get done right every time. From service, to decor, to housekeeping to the easy access to the restaurant and lounge across the parking lot this Best Western property has it all. Convenience is an understatement!
While the room was perfect and cleaned to perfection daily the nightly events preventing us from using the workout room that is glass and looks out over the center court and the pool that is glassed to the center court and shared by people having wedding receptions, pot lucks and meetings was frustrating at best. The noise echo's thru the halls and I often looked out to see if there were people in the hall's or just center court. I did appreciate the bistro and Perkins that shares the parking lot to this hotel
a friend and I went to Great Bend on a pheasant hunting trip. The accommodations were very nice and the restaurant next door was very good. An added bonus was that there was a 10% discount on your bill for staying at the hotel and they had a breakfast special and early opening for the hunters.
I always stay with the Best Western Angus Inn when I travel to Great Bend. Lacey and her staff are always stellar! Super accommodating, and friendly this team always goes above and beyond to make sure myself and my guests are enjoying our stay. Super Satisfied!
We had a great stay. The room was very clean, set up nicely, and comfitable. The staff were very sweet and friendly!! Enjoyed the large area where we had the silent auction, dinner, and the mistary play. Didn't have time but the swimming area looked very inviting!!
I found this to be a top quality hotel and would love to stay on a regular basis. Unfortunately my employer does not have an account here. I strongly recommend staying here if you are in the area. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking is plentiful and well lit. the staff are friendly and knowledgeable making sure you get the best rate.
We were there for a basketball tournament. The staff was quite helpful . The entire hotel is quite dated. It is, however, the best choice in town. It was a really clean property though.Places to eat nearby.
I travel every week for work and spend a lot of time in motels. I have to say and I have stayed in all brands and the Angus Inn was right at the top of my list for being the very best. Price was fair, super clean, friendly staff and very helpful. Big wide parking spaces, Hot breakfast that was very good. I can't say enough good about this motel in Great Bend Kansas. When I come through I will stop at The Angus Inn Best Western.
Wonderful!! Very nice and HOT water for the shower was amazing! It was cold out so the indoor swimming pool was nice as well as the common area for gatherings. We stay here every year we come out. Thanks for the great service.
We encountered bad weather on a cross-country flight in a small plane and had to land in Great Bend. We ended up staying two days waiting for better weather and found the Best Western Angus via Trip advisor. We could not have had a better hotel stay experience than we had here. Great staff, clean, comfortable room, and a great value!
The best western was a very clean and friendly place. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was a lot of restaurant's close by. The pool was very nice and clean. I will denfinlty stay there again.
This is one of the few hotels that we have stayed at that does not have a breakfast. There is a Perkins restaurant right next door that you will get a discount at. But still no breakfast. The room was large with a seating area along with Netflix on the TV. The bed was comfortable and the towels were plentiful. The hotel is on a main road making it very easy to find.
Very nice, comfortable stay. While there isn't a continental breakfast, they do give coupons for the Perkins and bar/grill across the parking lot. Really a much better option than the typical free breakfast. There is a inviting pool and a large open in the middle of the building to let kids burn off some energy. My room had a good sized microwave and refrigerator/freezer.
Second time I stayed here. Very comfortable and clean. Not fancy but up to date. Will Stay again if I am in Great Bend. Would recommend to others. Perkins restaurant onsite makes a good breakfast a plus.
This was one of the most friendly, comfortable, affordable BW we have been in for a very, very, long time. When we return to Great Bend this will be the ONLY motel we will stay in. We rate it at a 20!
Awesome place PET FRIENDLY! Took my puppy Hank a mini weiner dog on his very first trip and he loved it. The staff was very friendly and even gave my puppy a treat and pet him. That is awesome! My only problem which really is not that big of deal was the bed. I did not like the bed it just wasn't comfortable for me.
Only offered a "grab and go" breakfast which included a smoshed granola bar, a piece of fruit and a small water bottle. We were told they would have muffins delivered by Perkins but when we left at around 8:00 they still had not arrived. If you have kids who look forward to a hotel breakfast (even just a Continental) they will be very disappointed!
Good water pressure in shower Rooms away from heavy traffic. No Breakfast available! They offer a 10% discount for the restaurant next door, so I need to spend $10 to save one dollar. plenty of parking space
It is possible to access some of the rooms at this hotel from the parking lot. Others are accessed from an interior hallway. We were fortunate to get a ground floor room we could park in front of which makes it a lot easier if you have a lot of luggage. Unlike most Best Westerns I have stayed at, this hotel does not provide breakfast. However, the room was very attractive and had a microwave and refrigerator. I particularly liked the refrigerator which had a separate freezer compartment. The staff at the front dest were friendly and helpful. The exercise room was very nice although it did not open until 7:00 which would have been a problem if we needed to get an early start.
Best place to stay in town. My wife and I travel for a living and after checking the other hotels in the area we decided to stay. They have nice rooms with a refrigerator and microwave. Nice TV with a great selection and free Netflix was a bonus! Good WiFi. Beds were ok. Not to hard or soft. Great truck parking with restaurants next door. We will definitely put this location on our list of hotels to stay at when we are back in the area.
This is a clean, friendly, and relatively inexpensive motel with easy access. Restaurants abound in the vicinity, and running/bike trails along the Arkansas River are within a couple of miles. We're going back in the spring to check the bird migration.
Did not realize this Best Western did not have breakfast. They did have muffins but they were randomly piled on a tray behind the front desk where you could not reach them. The room had many bugs. I woke up in the morning with a bug bite on my check. The mattresses in the room were old and broken down. Overall I would definitely not recommend this hotel.
Nice place to stay. It was in a good location where I could find places to go to meet my needs. The housekeeping staff did a good job of cleaning the room There were also good places to go to eat close by.
We are frequent stayers at the Best Western Black Angus Inn in Great Bend, KS and always find that the staff and rooms meet our needs. We are particularly pleased that most of the staff know who we are and are always ready to assist us with any of our needs.
This hotel is an older hotel that has been very well updated. It is an excellent value. It is centrally located to everything in Great Bend. Has The Page and Perkins next door for close restaurant options. Staff is awesome. Also is great about accepting pets.
If you're looking for the best place to stay in Great Bend, pick this BW Angus Inn. Such comfy beds, quiet rooms, super clean, great staff and everything top of the line. When we return to Kansas again, we'll definitely be staying at this same facility. As Diamond members, we've seen and stayed in plenty of Best Westerns. This one is top of the line. Rates are extremely reasonable; especially to have such wonderful accomodations.
Was greeted very warmly. Had a big basket of delicious muffins on the desk that you could pick from and take to your room. I did this so I had something to go with my coffee in the morning due to the fact that no breakfast is offered here. BUT there is a restaurant for breakfast in the adjoining parking lot and you get 10% off with your key, plus there's another restaurant for supper. I had a very nice room and the layout of this motel is quite unique. The pool area is very accessible to most rooms. They have stairs outside or you can access an elevator inside. They also have an area with a big screen TV that if you want to get out of your room and meet with others this would work great and you're still in a controlled environment. This motel has many possibilities for larger groups!!!
Very quiet AC, Perkins and Page Restaurants on property. Ask about specials after checkin. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Restaurants are local favorites, great food. Kids happy. Page has large portions and no plating charge. Stay here when in Great Bend for a visit or when traveling West.
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years. The staff have become family. It is so nice to see the same staff when you check in. It says a lot about the company. The hotel is always clean and the staff will do anything to make your stay a good one.
Stayed here when the temps were in the triple digits. The air conditioning worked flawlessly, the room was very big, comfortable, and had all the usual amenities. Very friendly staff, but does not do a breakfast. They do however have 2 restaurants on the west side of their parking lot and you get 10% off at either of them. Nice place to stay.
We always stay here when we travel to Great Bend it's nice because the big meeting room is accessible to everyone the rooms are usually pretty clean and neat and comfortable have been staying at this hotel since my kids were 11 years old they are now 24 and 28
We stayed here a couple of nights while taking in some baseball games. The staff was very friendly and promptly checked us in. The room was clean, cool, and comfortable. A couple of nice restaurants just next door that made it convenient to eat. We'll stay here when we go back to GB.
I chose this hotel because there was a direct connection hi speed internet. I was able to connect directly into the wall and it was very fast. Very pleased! Also allowed for a late check-out, which was much needed.
Room was nice and quiet. Good location next to Perkins which is a very popular excellent restaurant. Staff were friendly. I've known others who always stayed there, but this was my first time. I would stay there again.
When we travel on family vacations, we find ourselves looking with anticipation toward Great Bend because of Angus Inn. The absolute best moderate priced inn we have ever visited! The rooms are incredibly clean and spacious...the service friendly and impeccable, and the highlight of our trip every year! These people know how to run a hotel!
We stayed as a group at Best western for a baseball tournament. The room smelled like smoke even though it was smoke free? Bugs were in room such as water bugs, mosquitos, gnats. Internet was awful and lost connection every other second which was frustrating. The TV would not turn on with remote and we had to call to be told to fix the input on the actual TV to obtain cable. Bedding appeared dirty and unwashed with hair and dirt on it.
I stayed here with family for a family reunion. My mom and sister had stayed there before and really liked it. It was mine and my boyfriends first time here. It was nice, there were two double beds, a desk, dresser, bench for luggage, and a fridge and microwave. We had enough room to set up our sons pack and play in the corner. We thought the beds were really firm almost too hard, the room didn't have bright lights but the bathroom was even worse. It was very dim in there. They also have free Netflix in every room. Our only complaint was the air conditioner wasn't great it ran constantly but it never got to 66. It was a bit warm in the room when it was 89 outside. The pool was nice enough and open till 11, they also had a big hot tub. There were a ton of kids in the pool with no adult supervision though signs were posted everywhere about it. They were loud and splashing a ton my 11 month old was afraid. There's also no free breakfast, but you get discounts at the restaurants in the parking lot. Overall it was a nice place, a little steep for $90 but it was nice. I'd definitely stay there again.
Desk clerk pulled wrong reservation, and tried to blame it on the online process. Finally got it figured out after I kept insisting he had the wrong reservation. Also, he assigned us a roo. Right across from the pool area. Granted, I should have immediately asked for a different room, but being a holiday, I thought rooms might all be filled.
The overall quality of room was outstanding. The furniture, appliances, and amenities were above expectation. Cleanliness was super and fresh inside. The out side cattle smell can not be helped. The common game and pool area was greatly appreciated and used.
Stayed with our high School Baseball team . Room was comfortable. Disappointed that there is no breakfast in hotel. Although they give a discount at the Perkins next door. bed was firm . Staff was great.
The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was within walking distance of several restaurants. It doesn't have a free breakfast but you received a discount at the Perkins Pancake House across the parking lot if you showed your room key. We could hear some noise from the adjoining rooms but never so loud that it was annoying. All in all a very good value along US 56 in Kansas.
The front-desk staff are mature and low-key, and they were responsive to our special-room needs when we registered for a room. We were heartened this hotel does NOT feel compelled to offer a complimentary breakfast whose plastic-pail tastelessness generally serves only to ramp-up & inflate the price of their competitors' overnight accommodations.
We upgraded to the Honeymoon room which had a big heart shaped bathtub. The room was nice, but it is on the courtyard and there is a lot of noise. The hotel is nice and what you would expect in the middle of Kansas. I would stay here again if I was in Great Bend.
Absolutely the best surprise in a hotel value. Very clean spacious rooms that were up to date with separate sink from the bath area. Large attractive commons with much to do for younger family including billiards and swimming indoors.
We were a group of approximately 30 people ages 70+. We needed a gathering space to display memorabilia and to sit and visit. This motel provided us with an area of the courtyard. On Saturday, when another event was also scheduled, they provided a portable sound absorbing wall around our area, and we were able to visit easily even while there were a couple hundred people in the same room with us. A resturaunt and a sports bar was just across the parking lot from the motel so unless we wanted to go somewhere else for meals, we were within easy walking distance of excellent meals. The motel has some years on it, but is quite nicely kept up and clean. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted. Although I didn't use the pool, the pool area looked nice and clean and families were enjoying!
Clean rooms, large community area to sit and eat with family. Grandchildren enjoyed the pool area. Rooms were adequate and clean, Not an extravagant stay but a good value for the money. Breakfast required an additional charge but a Perkins is just across the parking lot which is a better value.
The hotel was friendly, clean, and the lobby/lounge area was awesome for the group. Large HDTV and free internet was a plus. The restaurants next door were very convenient. Linens could be improved upon.
I stayed at this hotel nearly a year ago during what apparently was a transitional phase and wrote an unfair review, so I would like to recant. To begin at the beginning, you couldn't ask for a better location found right off the main highway and centralized to many eating establishments with convenient and ample parking for your family sedan, fleet vehicle or rig. The lobby is clean and adorned with the smiling faces of the friendly staff who ensure a pleasant and timely check-in. The Rooms!!!!! They are quiet clean and comfortable. Since my last stay they have been updated and with some excellent, modern additions. Every room has plenty of receptacles with both USB and outlet portals. The T.Vs.........well the tvs are all equipped with complimentary Netflix! This last little bit is for all those travelers over six foot tall, the showers are streaming from a multi setting head perched over seven feet high. I look forward to staying here again.
A very comfy and friendly hotel with lots of amenities! A great place to stay for families. The staff was very helpful in meeting my needs and making sure that I was safe and comfortable in my room. They even made sure I could see my car from my hotel window!
We had a great stay, staff was great. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Also enjoyed the cable, rooms and cable and the court . Very clean and well taken care of. Had plenty of games and room to run in the court yard.
I've had worse , but better than sleeping in truck to hunt. Was ok but not worth the money, my ac was broken and had to stay up to get it fixed when I had to. E up at 3 am. I was ready for bed. For 83 dollars a night there should be continental breakfast. Could here people run up and down stairs all night.
Stayed just one night. Perkins restaurant and Page Sports Bar basically in parking lot (10% discount if show room key). Front desk had complementary muffins at check out in basket and computer available for use. In room coffee. Fitness room does not open until 7 am (door is kept locked). Several people were enjoying the indoor pool. Noticed a new Holiday Inn Express had opened in town - might try that next time. Big wedding party going on and think they came home to the room next door around 5 am - not very sound proof.
We had some business in and around Great Bend so we chose this place because they had a restaurant next door. Super clean room. Gobs of pillows Netflix and cable TV. Fridge and Microwave too. Beds were a little hard for my liking but slept good. It was a Sunday night so not busy and quiet. Didn't make it to the pool but really enjoyed our stay.
Another great nights stay. My mother and I spent the night at the Angus Inn on Oct 18th. Check-in was a breeze. Beds were comfortable and it was pretty quite. Had Dinner and Breakfast next door at Perkins and received 10% for staying at the motel. Both dinner and Breakfast were filling.
Clean, great for gatherings, good pool, adequate parking, food near by with hotel discounts, helpful staff, safe environment and on a major highway (easy to find). Perfect for school / class reunions. Great for family get to gathers, with kitchen facilities available for a very small fee.
Room was very nice, clean, and quiet; pool/hot tub/spa were very nice. Breakfast was not available. They offer a discount of 10% at the Perkins across the parking lot. We had to walk outside to get from our room to the lobby/front desk. There is a large atrium area that appears to be mostly wasted.
Between free Perkins muffins, discounts at nearby restaurants and the nice room, we had a great stay here. It was a 'motor inn' in the past so it's kinda unique. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. We wondered what t
Very nice facility, on the main drag. Super nice room, with 2 entrances, one on the parking side, and the other inside, near the pool. They also have a rec room with a pool table! Room was very clean, large bed, good sized shower, fast internet, nice TV. Restaurant next door, and up and down the street. Will definitely stay here again.
I stay here on business about every other month. This is an older hotel with exterior doors. They have updated the property to a resonable level, so it tends to be a pretty good value. I try to avoid inside rooms which have no exterior windows. They open with sliding doors into atrium with video games and a kid activity area. Probably great for families. The hotel shares a parking lot with a Perkins restaurant and "The Page" which is a solid restaurant and bar. With a hotel key, you get a 10% discount.
nice clean modern place to stay. friendly desk staff. nice glass enclosed meeting area for events. nice bar and restaurant in same parking lot. has a to go breakfast bag with banana, water bottle, cereal bar available at front desk. only a couple of miles from race track on same street
As close to a perfect experience as I've ever had at a Best Western. No breakfast, no exercise room--I just don't care. I will absolutely stay here whenever the opportunity presents itself. I hope that's credible enough. Clean, quiet, and extremely reasonably priced, which in Central Kansas is dam hard to find. Good for you, guys.
I stay at this Hotel on business on a monthly basis and they always make sure that things in my room are taken care of and always want to know on check out if there were any problems. I feel special when I show up, I always greeted with a smile and a How are you today. They almost always put me in the same room that i have requested which make sit nice for me.
Have an ice cream or maybe a whole meal at Braum's on 10th Street in Great Bend, KS, then roll on down to the Best Western Angus Inn. The pool is big enough to share and still swim some laps or just relax. The hot tub really is a hot tub and it's a great way to relieve the stress after a hard day of driving and sightseeing. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. This motel is a kid's dream, which makes it a parental favorite too. Pool, pool table, ping pong, arcade games, room to stretch out.
Enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Angus Inn, in Great Bend, KS. Room was larger than expected and very clean. Located next door to Perkins Restaurant (yum) and another eating place that also had great food. Lady at the front desk signed me up for Best Western Rewards and I am now on my way to a free night.
Like that they have a lot of plug-in's, which is great when you have computers and other machines to plug-in. Great wait staff, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and showers work great. This motel is not priced as high as many I have stayed in. The beds are fine but I prefer something a little firmer. All in all I highly recommend this place, I have stayed here a number of times.
We are always pleased with the service. We stay there every time when are in Great Bend. We have family there and are always treat very good. The kids love the pool and games that are available. I wish they would have a cont. Breakfast, but the do have a 10% discount at the Perkins right next door.
Highly recommend this hotel. The beds were really comfy and lots of pillows. Small setting area and refrigerator. Newly remodeled and very clean. The parking lot was lighted well. Came in late and staff was very accommodating. Will definitely stay here on a return visit.
Great place to stay , clean and friendly, reasonably priced . Has Perkins next door. I'm very happy we stayed there . A gem on the prairies . Very spacious room And I loved the green neck roll pillow for laying in bed watching tv. This room was at least $50 cheaper than other places similar
Great surprise. I have passed this facility many times but due to vehicle issues stopped. Staff were more than helpful and accomodating. They were doing some remodeling which will make facility even better. Price is acceptable. Beds comfortable, rooms spacious. Go next door to get discounted meal. Will be stopping again.
There were comfortable, spacious rooms; easy access from the road; a nice, large area to hold group get-together in; laundry service available & easy to use; pool was well-maintained; staff was very friendly; great stay for our entire softball team.
This hotel was an excellent choice for our overnight stay. The room was well equipped and comfortable, though not large or fancy in any way. All was in good working order. There is no in-hotel restaurant but the Perkins next door is inexpensive and offers a 10% discount for hotel guests. The neighborhood was nice for walking our dogs, which were greeted with a treat bag on chieck-in.
Good pricing, centrally located, consistent great staff service; always a dependable place to lay your head. If your aren't satisfied with something the staff is always quick to attempt to rectify the situation as quickly as they can. We stay at this hotel regularly and have rarely been disappointed.
We stayed at this motel as we were checking for possible 50th year class reunion sites. It has everything we could possibly want. It is clean, accommodating, nicely decorated, AND THE BEDS ARE COMFORTABLE. It is an older motel which has been VERY well kept.
Too much noise. Street noise, guest noise, people partying outside our room. I guess because I've never stopped here on a weekend in the summer, I never had these issues. I don't know which hotel wizard thought that tiny square pillows are what customers like, but I can tell you that I HATE THOSE STUPID PILLOWS WITH A WHITE HOT PASSION! Why in the name of all that's holy would you do this to your guests? Anyway, there's a restaurant here that is top notch. It's across the parking lot for the hotel and it's called the Page. Saturday's prime rib was excellent. Stay here to eat there.
We were in Great Bend for the state baseball tournament. The rates at this hotel are excellent. Even though the hotel was full and there were ball teams, it was very quiet. We were on the second floor and on the back side of the hotel. Our room was clean. There is a large courtyard in the middle of the hotel and there is a pool and hot tub. There is not breakfast at the hotel and I do not believe there are elevators. There is a Perkins and an American Bistro across the parking lot. No on site dining available. Everything about our stay was great with the exception of the water temperature. I adjusted the water in the shower to my satisfaction and twice I had to readjust due to the water either being too hot or freezing cold. Other than that, it was a great stay and I would stay again.
We stayed at 5 BW properties during a recent 3 week road trip; this one rates right in the middle. The internet speed was painfully slow (as were most of the other properties - it seems that you don't have to have even reasonably fast internet to advertise 'free WiFi', just have it). They offer a 10% discount at a Perkins restaurant across the parking lot in lieu of a 'free' breakfast. The discount is also good at an attached restaurant.
Hi Folks, This place had a comfortable room but it was a bit noisy. I do not believe it had a breakfast buffet but I cold be wrong. It was a little dated and dog eared to. But still, all in all, it was OK. Regards, OldeBear
Checked in on business for US Govt. Was put in 162 which is an inside room off the rec room. Hotel was being used by teen baseball teams. Tried to get room changed and was informed that they were booked up. Asked desk what to do about noise and was told nothing. Walked back to room quite a ways and key would not work. Walked back to office and they reprogrammed key. Told me that they had a camera back here and if key still did not work stand in the hall and they would come back. This did not happen, had to use cell phone to call front desk. Will not use this hotel again and will be notifying govt travel this hotel is unacceptable. Also, they don't even offer the usual meager complimentary breakfast.
Hi Folks. Like most Best Westerns, they have a quality standard not found in other "chain motels" in their price range. This is why we are Platinum Card members. Besides getting a comfortable, clean room for a reasonable price (I sound like Tom Baudette), they have good service but are a little Dog Eared. Regards to all, OldeBear
A 5000 mile trip, and this is by far the best place we have been to...a fantastic experience after a rather monotonous trip so far......Maria and Leanna at the desk were bright, cheerful, got us the room. Checked on us after we went to the room to see if it was to our standards. We like value instead of plushness...Best Value here price-wise . Quiet, clean, comfortable living space....everything A-1. Lots of restaurants nearby.Right in the middle of the business district. Great stop-over!! Indoor pool and courtyard......NICE!
You are guaranteed your stay will be excellent. The staff make you feel welcome and will do anything to make your stay the best. The room are so clean and comfortable. The grounds are well kept. I have stayed at this locations for a number of years now and they keep it well maintained at all time. One of the best
Very nice room and comfortable beds. Rates were very reasonable. :) Will definitely stay here again the next time we visit. Rooms clean and staff very helpful. Thank you very much. My only complaint is that this review requires 200 words. I have nothing else to say.
The hotel was clean and everything worked. The kids outside were a little loud, but that stopped around 11:00pm. The staff was good and ver very efficient. However, for Great Bend, KS, I thought the price for the room was way to high. Because of that, I may check out cheaper motels..
Our son and his team from Junction City were at the Classic Team Bowling Tournament on 3/19 & 3/20/16. The rooms were great. They were clean and comfortable. They were doing upgrades in the courtyard but that didn't detour the kids from having fun there and in the pool. It was a very good experience for everyone. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, perhaps smell a bit musty. The bed was comfortable. I did find the rooms to be a bit dark and they are also decorated in dark colors. We didn't spend much time in our room. If I had to spend any longer amount of time in this room, I would probably choose somewhere else. It can be very noisy and that is truly the downside. One night in particular we had a group of people who partied till about 3am in the rooms opposite us. I don't think security is great, anyone can walk around this place. Perkins, the restaurant adjacent to the hotel is really good and made up for everything! Really enjoyed my breakfasts there and even had an evening meal there which was really good. I would stay at this hotel again, for a short stay and provided I did not have to spend too long in the room.
The staff was friendly and helpful enough. My room was large and clean. Someone was washing clothes and the dryer was rather loud. Having said that I do appreciate the fact they had a washer and dryer as I work on the road and sometimes need to clean clothes also. For the area I believe the hotel was very good but obviously a bit old, still my stay was more than adequate
The rooms are clean and comfortable. the beds are very comfortable. The staff was welcoming and willing to answer questions about local business and activities. The Page restaurant next door had good food and a relaxing atmosphere. You get a discount by showing your room key. We went for a meeting, but took time to relax in the large, clean and inviting hotel hot tub!
The staff at Best Western Black Angus in Great Bend are always friendly, helpful and dependable. The rooms are always clean and if there are any issues the staff goes out of its way to rectify any issues in an expedient manner.
I have stayed at this location a number of years now, and they make sure the property is well kept. The staff are outstanding and go out of their way to make sure you stay is everything you would expect.
Amenities were fine, bed left something to be desired, staff was kind and helpful. I chose this location based on its proximity to Larned and the rewards program. The bed was old, too soft and very squeaky. Overall, pretty good & I will be back.
The layout of this grossly outdated inn is reminiscent of a 70's adult film set. The walls are thin and poorly insulated making climate control nearly impossible and a good night's sleep possible only in the event that the place is empty. The showers will provide an even temperature about 2% of the time. There is no breakfast at all. If your worried about forgetting to set your alarm, no worries house keeping starts obnoxiously early. The meeting space is a hotel room with a table. I have stayed here numerous times for a grand total of over 20 days, the one thing I can say is my stays have been consistent.
Always on a budget I picked this hotel on price but honestly was a little concerned when I pulled up. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Staff was excellent. Rooms have been updated and are clean large and comfortable. I ended up staying 2 nights. My first room was ground floor and I could park right outside my door. I do really like that. The second night I was 2nd floor on the inside. The room was just as nice. And they do have an elevator. Good food options near by. Microwave and fridge in room.
I have stayed at the Angus Inn many times since 1999. The rooms are always clean, the beds are good, and the staff & housekeeping personnel are very helpful. My only (minor) complaint is that sometimes you can (very faintly) smell cigarette smoke in my non-smoking room. Don't know if it's because some nicotine addicts had smoked in it previously, or if it's a ventilation issue. I highly recommend the Angus Inn.
Love staying at the Angus! Very convenient and priced affordable. Next time I will ask for an inside entrance room, staying with my 4 year old - I wasn't thrilled for both inside and outside doors, but for what we needed it was still perfect! Still can't believe on New Years Eve The Page closed at 10! Came to town to be with family and would have been nice to be able to hang out across the parking lot on a holiday evening without having to drive. (I know this restaurant is completely separate from hotel!)
My son and I planned to go pheasant hunting for a Christmas outing, but the weather turned bad (Winter Storm Goliath) and we had to cut our trip short so we could make the drive back home safely. The staff at Best Western was very understanding and were more than willing to work with me on my hotel bill. I will book them again, for sure.
Very clean room, spacious. TV is high definition, much better than that of a high end room in Santa Fe. The outside smells strongly of cattle, but close the door and everything is fine. A good place to rest during a cross country trip.
Our frequent stays at the Black Angus Best Western have been comforting in that they provide a dependable, clean room and the office and cleaning staff are top notch. Any problems are addressed quickly and have always been corrected to our satisfaction. The only disappointment that I have is that the hotel is now "smoke" free and obviously no longer caters to smokers. I do hope that they will reconsider their policy decision.
Nice rooms, nice rates and very nice staff. We typically stay at the Angus Inn Best Western when we visit family in Great Bend. They appear to have recently upgraded the rooms and the exterior. They also let us keep our Golden Retriever when staying there. The staff is always very nice and the rooms seem warm and welcoming.
The Best Western Angus Inn is easily accessible in the heart of Great Bend on US-56 and K-156. The hotel is almost unbelievably clean. The guest rooms are modern, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby is so welcoming you may just want to sit and spend a while there watching TV and enjoying the fireplace. There is a 10% discount offered at the Perkins Restaurant in the same parking lot. They have pet friendly rooms where you can park your car right in front of the room and if you have a moving truck, it can park nearby in a dedicated lot. The indoor pool is amazing. This place is a great value!
Everything new looking, renovated. very clean. Definitely the best place to stay in Great Bend, hands down. Price not bad. No breakfast but discount at local perkins and the page located in parking lot. Nice indoor pool and indoor rec area for family gatherings and kids play. Also arcade games in the atrium. Dogs welcome and we were not charged for our puppies who stayed with us. Double rooms are with full beds not queen beds so they are pretty small for 2 people.
I have been staying at the Best Western Angus Inn for several years. These stays are mainly business trips and have yet to not be greeted with a warm smile and welcome each and every time. I feel pretty spoiled when I arrive they always try and reserve me my favorite room and ALWAYS ask how my stay was and if anything was wrong in my room. The staff is wonderful and Lacey Bryan has helped me out on different occasions with meeting rooms and such. There are a couple of new places in Great bend but for me I will always stay with my home away from home at the Angus Inn.
As a preface to this review, we had been driving hard all day trying to slip between the weather to the north and west. We selected this B/W based on TA reviews. To be fair, with a wildly popular pool, hot tub, pool table and other amenities, a family should take advantage these attractions and get their kids to blow off some steam before bed. We do not fit into that cohort anymore. Located on the main street, this establishment is easy to find. Its an older two story that has been upgraded and expanded over the years. The afternoon reception couldn't have cared whether you were there or in the competition. Our room was on the second floor and, although there is an elevator in the newer part, it seemed easier to carry your bags up the stairs. That would have been good if the door key worked. Back down the stairs, another key card. It didn't work either. Keep in mind the reception person doesn't really want you facing them. The third key card worked. This hotel is used by hunters a lot. They had tracked mud and whatever up the treads of the stairs and despite having a very aggressive tread, you were never sure if you were going to slip. While the hotels asks hunters to wipe their boots before entering the room, but realistically how many really do that? But the room was clear and the carpets were none the worse. Parking was extremely limited next to the hotel and lighting is supplied by the the room's outside light. You can park across the road with the big trucks and semis. The latter tend to start up really early in the morning but all that does is add to the road noise. The room door had obviously been assaulted as it didn't quite fit the frame. As a result, a stiff breeze could be felt along the top and sides. The room configuration which was popular in the 80"s is quite average having all the normal amenities. The bed was the least comfortable of the five hotels we stayed in on the southern leg of our trip. you could feel springs and the pillows were thinner. Speaking of thin, the walls provide little resistance to ever present snoring emanating from the next room which was pervasive all night. If you like a hot shower, then the bath is heaven. Pretty good shower head too. The HVAC unit was the worst. It groaned into operation with all of the pitiful noises it could muster, ran with all of the grace of a DC-3 warming up and then performed the most excruciating and long wheezing death cycle. There is no breakfast. Just a 10 percent discount at the Perkins across the lot. I mentioned the HVAC, and other issues to Carol Ann on check-out. At least she seemed to be very concerned and dispatched maintenance immediately. Good for many to stay but not us.
We have stayed here before and you get a clean room at a reasonable price. The employees do not seem to care that you are there- some customer service training would help. The door to our room did not open easily with the key card- it took a couple of scans and a couple of pushes on the handle to get in. The toilet ran water continuously unless you pulled the handle up immediately when the water began to swirl.
Great rooms that are large, clean and well kept. Each room has a mini fridge and coffeemaker. The motel has an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna great after a long day of work or hunting. This motel is one of the nicest in Great Bend.
This hotel provides hunters with hunting dogs a very nice place to stay at a reasonable price. The hotel amenities like the pool, hot tub and media room were clean and well maintained. We plan to come back next year!
Best place to stay in Great Bend, have been here many times. The enclosed pool, the large recreation room offers large space to enjoy for young and older; Comfortable beds. Perkins and the Page restaurants next door have great food and service
I have family in Great Bend and go there with some frequency. The staff is great, reservations are easily made, and my stays are always very good. It's my home away from home there. The next door Perkins restaurant and Page restaurant lounge are terrific and you get 10% discount as a Best Western guest. I have stayed in a couple other hotels in Great Bend in the past and would never again stay anywhere but the Angus Inn Best Western.
Affordable, comfortable and very clean. Pillows are unusually small but comfortable. I was in room 174. All the amenities are great however the down side is the sliding glass door to the indoor court yard where there is own space, ping pong, etc. makes it noisy when people are out there. More sound control would be great. However friendly staff and condition of the room make it acceptable.
This hotel is fine--clean, modestly furnished, minimal decor, pleasant front desk staff, nice location with Page restaurant across the parking lot, but because the doors open to the outside and maybe the walls are incredibly thin, the noise from the main drag (trucks, motorcycles, people revving their engines), parking lot and just people walking past the room using foul language was incredible. And there was a rumbling, knocking noise (pipes maybe?) from the bowels of the building too!
Always dependable and a great value for the dollar. I would recommend Great Bend's Best Western to anyone who might have questions. Because of the obvious care provided by the manager, I would suspect that the hotel will continue to be very well run.
I stayed at Best Western motel in Great Bend not once. Very good location. Rooms are clean and staff is helpful. Will stay there again. The only thing I wish they don't advertise the sauna on internet. I didn't find any sauna at the motel.
Since there were 3 adults and a 2 year old, we decided on adjoining rooms, so that we had more room and privacy. That was the best decision ever!! We loved the layout of the rooms and everything was super clean! Will definitely stay there again when visiting Great Bend!
I chose the Best Western Angus Inn because of its affiliation with Best Western, the general location of Great Bend on my trip west, and the price. The rooms are updated and filled with features--microwaves, refrigerators, new big screen TVs, updated bathrooms, and are sparkling clean. The fitness center was great and the indoor swimming pool (open until 11:00 for later arrivals (like me) was spotless and perfect for doing laps. Front desk staff were helpful and kind. I would highly recommend this hotel. It really is a great value in Great Bend.
The hotel is in good condition, rooms are nice and have recently been updated. Beds are great, pool and hot tub are really nice as well. Friendly staff. This is one of the best places to stay in Great Bend for sure. Cons are that the curtains smell terrible from years of smoking and they have never been washed, especially in the interior rooms where the windows don't open and there is no outside air. The towels are really rough - bring your own for sure and they do not offer pool towels. They are new towels but it's similar to rubbing sandpaper on your skin. I think for the area the price is a bit high but it's clean for the most part.
We stay in hotels 3/4 of the year for work. This was a VERY good hotel and a great rate. Great dining right next door as well. Clean, comfortable beds, fun game area, great fitness area and pool area.
A good stop for Great Bend area. Much improved rooms and had a good nights rest. Perkins is a short walk across the parking lot for meals. A bit noisy due to proximity to road and plumbing in rooms. This property was built before sound proofing was common. A popular place for events due to large reception spaces for rent and an indoor pool. Nice people on staff.
We were traveling through the state and our AAA guide listed this hotel as one of two recommend. We have stayed at BW before and know they will be clean, comfortable and reasonably prices. This hotel was no exception to this rule. They were eating locations next to the hotel and others in easy walking distance. The office staff is very friendly and will treat you as one of the family!
