Located right off of 5, the hotel couldn't be more convenient for travelers driving through California. I stop in this area every time I have to travel to Sacramento from Ventura. It breaks up the drive and the hotel is like a hidden gem. Its very quiet, secure, pet friendly, clean and comfortable. Plus the internet is actually reliable and breakfast is more than a pop tart thrown in a bag. It does tend to be popular with truckers finally looking to not sleep in their cabs, but there's plenty of room to accommodate them plus regular cars. I was worried about road noise being so close to the freeway, but the loudest thing was the A/C unit. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The only issue I had was with the shower. I don't know if its because of the construction nearby or what, however, the water pressure was abysmal. It takes forever to rinse shampoo out. At least the water stayed hot. Speaking of the area, there is a bit of construction across the street because they are building a SuperCharger complex, however, it looks like after they put in the chargers they forgot to finish anything else. This small exit area also has a lot of gas stations that are generally much better priced than the ones you'll find further south or in Stockton/Sacramento. Overall, much more comfortable accommodations than your roadside Motel 6 or Super 8 and with a much better price point for the comfort.
This is a nice place to stay although a bit older. Even so, it offers all of the amenities you would look for in a hotel--comfortable bed, fresh linens, adequate breakfast, and quiet. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast had a variety of foods available for every appetite. Staff were very friendly and personable, even offering to make scrambled eggs for me when I noticed they were serving omelets instead of scrambled eggs. I thought that was a very nice gesture, even though I did not accept because the omelet was very good. They were willing to go the extra mile to satisfy their customer--a rare occurrence in today's world.
Most of the time on our way up to the Bay Area, we stop at Panoche Road to fill up gas. We often saw this motel but never looked too close at it. This time when I was returning from a trip, decided to check this place out as it would work out well with my travel times to spend the night. So glad I did. A few fast food restaurants, gas stations and Tesla charging station in the immediate area. Arrived in the afternoon, front desk was a little busy but super friendly and soon it was my turn to check in. The reception area open and bright - I like this one. We stay at Best Westerns quite a bit so I was familiar w/ the complimentary breakfast - this one was open early. My room was in the back, plenty of parking and liked the feel that it was not on the street - kind of had a little bit of country feel. There were some big trucks pulling into a nearby gas station but no big deal w/ noise. The room was remarkably quiet for being so freeway friendly. Room was clean, bed comfortable and I settled in for the night. Usually there is not too many breakfast selections for our vegan lifestyle but we usually come prepared and appreciate being able to utilize their toaster (as well as microwave, small frig in the room). Got some coffee and had a bagel and just relaxed before driving off. The breakfast area is so spread out and light that you actually feel comfortable hanging out for a bit. One of the better Best Western that I have stayed in (and the price was right). Plan on returning again when up this way. Thank you Best Western - Apricot Inn!
I stay at the Apricot Inn in Firebaugh, California, the home of Josh Allen, quarterback of the NFL's Buffalo Bills as I like to be in the middle of nowhere occasionally. There is not much to do, but I have no TV and like watching Sporting events and sports commentators. I like it when there are NO firecrackers or gun shots on New Year's Eve! Great service and nice rooms but do NOT expect a party atmosphere; this is not Las Vegas! You will meet typical travelers driving north and south through California, and definitely workers who work for PG & E, water treatment plants, road construction projects, beekeepers for the nearby almond trees, and of course truckers.
The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. Easy on/off freeway access. Variety of fast food to choose from. Would stay again and would recommend to others. We did not try the breakfast or use the internet
The biggest problem I have continually had with the Best western chain is the rewards program.I have in tried phoning in a few times in previous years and have yet to say my problems are solved.I am not sure who is at fault.
Very good value. Very clean. The perfect best western. Floor was clean and vacuumed which is usually where the staff get lazy. Didn't smell of smoke. I turned off the refrigerator because it made a buzzing noise.
We had an unscheduled stop at BW Firebaugh, we were going home to San Diego from No.Cal. We had been in stop/go traffic behind an accident, and my husband was done with the heat, the traffic, everything. This is the best, by far, of hotels we've stayed in and as motorcyclists we've stayed in plenty. The room was attractively furnished and wonderfully comfortable with plenty of room. Towels and other linens were soft, fluffy and absorbent. The shower was a wonder. The shower head was high enough for tall people, it gave more than adequate flow. The shampoo etc. were great and smelled good too. The AC was even reasonably quiet and efficient. All in all a great place to stay. Thank you Best Western Firebaugh
This is a true gem in the middle of the desert and a welcome place to stay after a long drive. The staff were friendly and greeted me with a smile at the front desk. The facilities were in great shape and well maintained. The breakfast was adequate with a variety of food items offered, and they made the breakfast available at 5:30 a.m. (most placed wait until 6:00 a.m.), which was nice for someone who wants to hit the road early. I will definitely stay here again on my return trip.
We have stayed at this location quite a few times in the past, due to their perfect location between So Cal and Central Cal, as well as being pet friendly. We were not traveling with a pet this time, but did see others out for walks. We were very pleased with the renovations of the front office area, including a breakfast dining room. The rooms were clean and comfortable with nice décor, and yet the front clerk told me that they are going to be refurbished again soon (can't wait to see). The front desk clerks were both very nice and helpful. We were using a gift card which was new to the night clerk, however she checked us in with the promise of the morning clerks help, which was the case. The breakfast choices were amazing, presenting eggs, meat, biscuits & grave, fruit, waffles, cereals, yogurt and more. You don't leave hungry. The surrounding area is nothing to write about, with an abandoned restaurant, a couple gas stations with some fast food places and a liquor mart/store. It is not a destination, but a good in-between stop for a good rest and good breakfast. Will stay here again on our journey's north.
This BW was all you'd expect and then some. Carmen, who worked the breakfast crowd, not only did an excellent job with personable smiles and she kept the breakfast food plentiful. Her service made it feel more like home with making sure I had all I needed. Also, the well lit parking made me feel safer as a single women traveling alone. The facility has easy access to the 101. And all this was far more than getting a bang for your buck. I highly recommend a nights stay or two just for the sausage and gravy. This was the only stay I've had where I wanted to eat the gravy!! Here's wishing my fellow travelers a Merry Christmas. tk
We stayed at hotel and felt the room was expensive. We were charged $130+ and we also noticed people who were not staying at hotel we getting free breakfast. Maintenace workers in other company trucks were helping themselves to free breakfast.
Great spot for traveling in the middle of nowhere. Stayed as an in-between driving between SF & LA. Customer service is quick. I accidentally got booked in a room that hadn't been cleaned yet. With one call to the front desk, I was switched to a clean room and the key was ready by the time I made it back to the reception desk. Can't ask for more in a truck stop hotel!
I have stayed at this motel for the past 18 years. Until my last visit here, I have been pleased. I stayed in the same room this year for about 30 days between January and February. I noticed mold, never fixed. Came back in March, still not fixed.
They upgraded my room free of charge. Great breakfast. Superfast wifi for Zoom meetings. Good value for money and close to freeway. Only complaint is slight noise from freeway, but that isn't their fault.
This is basically a truckers stop. The price quoted was the most we have paid for a Best Western Hotel and It was by far the worst. A group decide to party on the stairwell outside our room, and although I realize this was not the staffing responsibility, it kept us awake. A sink was blocked creating a nasty odour. The bedding was insufficient , the towels needed renewing. The hotel was very substandard for a Best Western. Will not be using it again.
This was a difficult night for us. There is a disclaimer in the hotel lobby to expect beetles, roaches, flies and other insects due to the "farming soil." There were beetles in the room. The abandoned restaurant next door is vandalized and tagged. The huge group 3 doors down were extremely loud until about 10 pm and then they did quiet down. Find a different hotel, bypass this one.
While the location was great for a half-way point while travelling, we were disappointed in the cleanliness of the room, especially for the price. Room smelled like a poor attempt to cover up past cigarette odor, which ends up smelling worse. Couch was visibly dirty, would never sit on that. We wiped the bathroom door and dirt was quickly visible on the rag. Not the worst, but bad for the price. Was concerning enough we went down to the car and grabbed our own pillows and blanket just in case. Needs to give better attention to cleaning for the price and the pandemic times we are in.
Used to stay here before it was a Best Western. It was good but is better now. We arrived a bit late, 10pm, and the clerk was very friendly. Decent breakfast. Good location for us when coming/going to L.A.
Major reason for my spending the night was the large TESLA charging facility. The area had minimal other facilities (Taco Bell and MacDonalds, and other fast food) as well as large gas stations. The Best Western was comfortable, convenient with helpful and pleasant staff. Surprisingly good shower! Major complaint was noisy internet/TV system. It beeped all night and couldn't be stopped.
We loved everything about this place! I was tired and didn't want to drive on to San Francisco so we stopped for the night! This place is very clean, the staff are super nice and helpful, great grab and go breakfast, good parking, and reasonably priced!
This is just a pit stop hotel. The main reception area is not a representation of the actual hotel room. We checked in around 3 am and got a room with two beds. As soon as we opened the door to the room the odor hit me in the face even through the face mask I was wearing. I immediately wanted to just sleep in the car. But it was only for a few hours. You can tell the room hadn't been cleaned in quite some time because the layer of dust on everything was thick. There was a dirty used towel on the raggedy ac unit. Gnats and flies were everywhere. The tub had not been cleaned and the dirt stains showed as proof. I couldn't wait to just sleep and had to sleep with my clothes on on top of the covers. I dared not pull them back to use.
The hotel was an old style motel. The service was good and the room was okay. The bed was hard as a rock and they have no fitness center. The breakfast was way below average. I could hear people outside all night. I won't stay at this location in the future.
The front desk employees were very friendly and the lobby was very clean. there are many restaurants to choose from within walking distance. they have security cameras everywhere and there weren't any undesirables loitering in or around the property. The rooms are clean and nice, but could be updated with new molding and or fixtures etc. The breakfast was open very early and had a nice selection for the money. The best asset this hotel has is the employees and the safe nature of the property. It is located in the country, by the freeway but you don't here the traffic in your room. The management was great to deal with!
I've stayed here three times and have have really liked it. I stayed for business and would have stay here with my family in a heart beat. It really feels like a getaway. I can't wait Tom comeback and do some jogging in the area. Keep up the great work.
Honestly if I had not made a reservation online when I drove up to this motel I would have turned around and found another place to stay. There are construction vehicles all over the place. An abandoned restaurant further adds to the feeling that nobody cares. I am surprised Best Western even has this place in its system. Really a sad down on your luck kind of place.
You can't go wrong staying at this BW hotel. Only a little way South of Santa Nella the site on I-5 is growing with more meal and fuel choices. A good stop is made better with a modern, comfortable hotel, staffed with efficient, friendly folks. The room is comfortable, the internet truly high speed, HBO variety, and the breakfast as good as anybody offers. Stop driving, start living. Value for the dollars delivered.
They didn't overprice the room even though there were few options on this stretch of freeway. Laundry was great, cheap and lots of time on the dryer, that dry clothes for your money. Overall very good experience
After coming over the grapevine, my wife and I were extremely tired. We stopped at BW and they treated us and our two dogs with smiling faces and a good attitude. It was late and I was frustrated from traffic so that was a welcome sight. They were very accommodating!!!
My family of four truly enjoyed the best Western as a rest stop on our road trip from Southern California to Northern California. The staff was very friendly and the free breakfast was much better than our expectations. My younger son particularly enjoyed the waffles made to order. The beds were comfortable and the TV works great. It was also pet friendly which was a big plus for the four-legged member of our family. My wife had a few bites on her leg but not ready to call those bed bites. All in all a great stopover spot.
The best western Apricot Inn has clean comfortable rooms at a fair price. The room is very clean, well taken care of. As a constant traveler for Best Western this is one of the best i have been too. If you are missing any incidentals chances are good the front desk has it.
Stopped here to get some sleep before continuing home....that didnt happen. TV was having issues, refrigerator NOT cooling ..that really was a necessity! Then at 23:00 was woken up by someone hitting something in the parking lot then talking very loudly. Neighbors next door up very early woke us up again being very loud. Now there was only a couple cars in the lot WHY would you put someone in a room RIGHT NEXT DOOR to someone else? Obviously people come here to sleep. Not happy having to fork out $110 to not get what I came here for SLEEP !! Also tiling needs care. See pic. Front door can seeight thru it
For my business trip this week as the perfect location. The area around was very nice and relaxing. All fast food was within walking distance. I was neat parking the car at the hotel and taking a walk there and back to eat. Very quiet and got some great sleep and some nice senic jogs in.
A group of us checked in at this hotel for a wedding at Cardella winery. We had no problems checking in but when we got to the room there was a pair of women's panties hanging behind the bathroom door. We called the front desk immediately and they sent employees over to remove the item did not want another room due to the fact my wife disinfected everything already before we made the discovery. Every employee at the hotel were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast in the mornings met our needs. The hotel definitely needs remodeling.
Safe, quiet and comfortable night's sleep is the reason for hotels & motels, (of course) but the Apricot Inn makes that look easy. A modern, comfortable room was just the start, however. The are pet friendly and that makes them an notable exception among other inns. But their generous and varied HOT or cold breakfast really met our needs to prepare for another day on the road. Who isn't stronger after a meal of scrambled eggs, bacon, juice and fruit? (And a hard boiled egg to take along...) It isn't the cheapest (or the most expensive) nights' stay but we feel like we got every penny's worth of value for our money. Holiday Inn Express doesn't have anything this Inn doesn't despite their higher price. If you've been staying at Motel 6 come see what you've been missing.
The Apricot Inn has surprisingly beautiful sunset views over the hills and darker skies than any city areas. The Rooms are well done with plenty of room, not cramped. Fresh and clean. Good breakfast at 5 am, earlier than most for an early start. Pool area looked nice and refreshing. And, yes, like most BW's there is the ice cold refreshing water with citrus in the lobby. Rooms are about half the price of those 100 miles north, and as far as I could see there wasn't much available to the south on I5. This is the half way point between Phoenix and the Oregon coast. Perfect for us. We will be back because with this stop we can make the drive in two comfortable days.
I was grateful for the location as it is a good stopping place on our way to our final destination. The room was clean and the service was good. We also enjoyed the breakfast. We found that very enjoyable.
Hotel fits perfect for our stop over during our drive from South LA to SFf. Arrived late, checked in, slept and took it easy in the morning. Kids enjoyed pool. Location is close to Highway but still quiet!
Always the place to look for and sometimes hard to spot with the new signage. Old Signs were big and easy to spot; maybe I'm too old for the new logo, old eyes don't see small dots too well. But again BW is the Best Place to Stay.
Best Western, Apricot Hotel Firebaugh, CA Excellent Value, Solid, Clean, Safe Stopover hotel. This hotel had no pretensions. It did what it offered well. It was convenient to the Interstate. It was clean. It was safe. The staff were polite, and the breakfast was certainly a good start to the day. It was not haute cuisine, but neither was the price. We are in our 60s/70s and thought this was a good choice for an overnight on a long journey between San Francisco and Las Vegas.
Nice place, recently updated with paint, flooring and granite. But, room 130 still needs extra care. I'll add pictures. Nice pool. Not much around except gas stations and fast food joints. Most of the food places close early. BW offers a complimentary breakfast which was awesome for a motel. The staff was friendly. However, other tenants could use better manners. I would stay again if passing through.
Very relaxing and well decorated room. Great service by front desk and overall excellent place to stay along I5. Will definitely stay here anytime driving late up I5. And very good breakfast as well. Thank you.
Great, efficient check-in experience. Room was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast experience was awesome. Usually hotels have a variety of hot foods but this place has eggs & bacon, waffles and biscuits & gravy. This hotel also had a large variety of cold breakfast items such as muffins, cereal, boiled eggs, fruit and so much more. My wife is celiac. Carmen went out of her way to get my wife special items including GF muffins and a Kind bar.
Pretty isolated. Just fast food and they close early. Do not take a room in the back. Farming equipment starts around 5 AM and is very loud. Best to keep driving to Los Banos. Staff was nice and rooms are clean.
It is an oasis along I-5 that I look forward to when traveling by car to and from LA. Thank you for being there. The place looks so refreshing even though things around it are sad or run down. The weather was warm but me room was cool without the air conditioner. Hard to sleep with an AC unit running all night!
I love this spot, it's the perfect stopping point before tackling the grapevine. From Eugene Oregon to the Apricot Inn, in a 36 foot box truck, it's about twelve hours, and this is a welcome respite. This was my second time here and it was just a nice as the first. I will be back.
This best western is quiet, clean, and well-maintained. It is a great place to stop for a rest to break up a long drive. Ladies at front desk were helpful and pleasant and breakfast was good. The dining options around the hotel are horrible but next time I will plan ahead for that. Excellent value!
The property is a little bit hard to fine very well taken care of the rooms are excellent beds were very comfortable refrigerator microwave coffeemaker clean bathroom clean shower everything was wonderful. Denise was the best I've ever had at the front counter help me out in a jam take care of me with my needs that I had in regards to the hours that we were staying and prices .
The staff was friendly, the room was clean, it was quiet, everything worked, breakfast was enjoyable. I would go out of my way to stay here again. It's a one stop experience. There were four gas stations and 4 fast and semi-fast places to eat.
We stayed at this location on our way down to Palm Springs . The room was spacious, clean , and close to the freeway. We got inlast and check in was a breeze. Check out was fast . The breakfast was great, more than a continental breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.
Saved my life! Great deal. Amazing breakfast, friendly staff and clean rooms. I felt super rested when I left. What else can you ask for? It's right by the interstate and I was traveling at night with my son and I needed a place to sleep because I was getting very tired. If I was alone I would have slept in my car but I didn't want to risk it for my son and wanted him to have a nice rest in the bed. This stay allowed me to spontaneously rest when I needed it. It may have saved my life, my sons life or the lives of others. Thank you for providing this great service great location. May God bless you.
Professional, courteous and friendly staff. Well appointed room. We stopped for an overnight stay after a long day on the road. The Desk Clerk made check in a snap. Had a beautiful room, very quiet and clean. Breakfast was very good, more than enough to eat, and tasty. Received a warm welcome as we entered the dining room. Check out was a snap!
The hotel staff were very helpful and our room was clean and stylish. The bed was very comfortable too. We did not experience any noises and the room temperature was just right. Good place to stay when you are traveling Interstate 5.
nice staff friendly and very helpful they were mindful to keep me in a part of the hotel that was away from a noisy group. the lobby has been remodeled as well as the rooms, And they are larger than a typical Best Western
Stayed for the night during a road trip down to southern CA. Room was fine: clean and comfortable. Was somewhat disappointed that the breakfast room was under renovation and there were just "grab and go" items in a makeshift temporary office space set up outside the hotel. That is also where we had to check in. Lady there was very friendly and helpful, though. The area around has a few fast food places but nothing that great (of course, not the hotel's fault). Sadly, the Apricot Inn Restaurant across the parking lot sits abandoned for a few years now. We had gone there years ago and enjoyed it. This area really could make use of a sit-down family diner! Anyway, it seems like they should have offered a discount for no hot breakfast or place to eat.
We had been driving for 6 hours and were ready to get off the road, so pulled into the BW Apricot Inn. We were dismayed that it appeared to be closed. The lobby was taped off, a "temporary lobby" was in the parking lot, but it was locked and no one was there. Finally stumbled onto the only employee on the property as we were just about to leave. She gave us a room around back which had a pretty view of the orchard behind the property. It was a non-smoking room, but the "smoking area" was immediately outside our door. Despite the room appearing to have been remodeled recently, a number of flaws were pretty obvious...like the plastic bag left covering the smoke detector, the paneling peeling up on the bottom of the bathroom door, the carpet coming off from around the base of the bed frame. The shower literally screamed when you turned it on, like a high pitched shrieking noise. We placed our cooler cold packs in the fridge and by morning they were melted since the fridge is in a completely enclosed cabinet with a door on the front. Internet was ok once you got on, but getting on was hit or miss as the page you needed to access to sign in only randomly appeared after choosing the BW wi-fi network. The hot and cold water taps at the sink were marked backwards. And no blanket on the bed. Definitely not ready for prime time. Keep driving.
I was beyond impressed with the staff, amenities and cleanliness of this hotel. I'm on the road several nights a week and was very surprised and comfortable at this Best Western. I will schedule my business trips to where I can stay at this hotel again in the future.
Stopped for the night on my way to see family in AZ. Was super pleased with overall experience. The property butted up against a large field. Dogs loved it and I felt safe while out walking them. Staff was super friendly and professional. Will definitely stay when traveling through the area.
Set amidst gas stations and fast food establishments, and one small market, along Interstate 5, this motel could have chosen to just get by. Instead, there is an active interest in friendly, competent service, repeatedly. I stay here once every month or two. I am impressed with the ongoing determination to "get better."
The rooms were recently updated and looked very nice. My room was on the back side and very quite. Everything was clean, fresh and nice. The bed was comfortable. This was a nice place to stay when in the area.
We spent 1 night here while on the road. The temporary office was nothing more than a small trailer but the staff was super nice and friendly. We got checked in accurately and fast. Our King bed room was just remodeled and looked great. We use the pool on a very hot evening. It was clean and just the right temperature. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. We loved this place and considered it a great find. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area. I will definitely be back when driving through the valley!
We stayed at this hotel on both our outbound and return trip. Although the hotel is under remodel, the accommodations were very comfortable and the staff was very helpful. Would not hesitate staying again. The only drawback is the lack of places to eat nearby.
This was a great little hotel. It was clean and the service was good. We arrived and they were under construction still but most of it has been complete. The rooms were great. They smelled clean. They looked clean. It had a great pool. The only downside was the super slow internet. There is a McDonalds, a gas station, subway and a little market. This is a little gem in the middle of nowhere. They even gave a little “welcome bag” in the room as a thankyou for the inconvenience of the construction. My sister needed a bandaid and I ran down to see if the office had one. They sure did and she gave it to us. This a little “grab and go breakfast” that had coffee, juice, pastry and some fruit bars and some oatmeal. We were very pleased. This was one of the better hotels we stayed at at half the price.
the rooms were reasonably priced and clean, even though it was under construction as they were remodelling the staff was friendly. we got good value for money with nice clean rooms and amenities. the hotel even left us a snack bag nicely wrapped and water with a note apologizing for the inconvenience caused by the remodelling..my only peeve was the breakfast that we had to grab and go as we would have liked to sit and enjoy what was advertised. however all in all this hotel experience was nice especially when you are tired and just need somewhere clean and comfortable for the night.
The sole reason we booked this hotel was for (a) a decent place to sleep, and (b) an actual breakfast. It's a stop over hotel, and with 2 kids we really wanted a convenient place to just wake up, eat a real breakfast, and go. Unfortunately (and shame on me) when we booked this hotel we didn't read all the reviews here or notice their single line of text on their website saying the place was being remodeled. In effect, there is no breakfast. The front office and "eating area" is a small trailer at the front of the property. Breakfast is a terrible 25 cent packaged pastry, an apple, and basically nothing else. No place to sit, etc. Grab a terrible packaged pastry and go is not what the website shows, and not what we were expecting. The pictures on their site of the nice eating area, with tables, cereal, waffle makers, juices, and all the other breakfast stuff simply does not exist right now. Half the reason we booked there simply did not exist, and we then had to go out, find a place to eat, and buy breakfast for 4 people. Kind of defeated the whole purpose of booking this hotel. Half the amenities we were looking for were gone, but the price is still full price. Booker be warned; what you see in the pictures simply does not exist right now due to remodel. I will likely be disputing the charge with my credit card company as the services they present simply did not exist.
Upon check in, we were told there's plenty of room to park in the back of the Inn since my hub and I had a travel trailer and our friends had a fifth wheeler. As it turned out we should have checked it out first because it was a pain in the butt to go on one side of the Inn with difficult turns but as it turned out we were able to back up out the way we came it after most of the cars in the back left. After talking to another lady at the mobile desk she said we could have park across the street in the empty lot. Duh, why didn't they say so in the first place when we first asked about parking. The first girl must be new. Anyway, they are remodeling the rooms and lobby and they allow pets. The room was clean and adequate. But I don't think we'll come back again.
This hotel is being remodeled so it doesn't look like much, but the people were friendly and the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. I was only here for one night after a long drive from the SF Bay area, glad I stopped and got a good nights sleep before continuing on to LA!
Even though renovations are in process the room was spacious, clean. Pool was great. This area is stopping point between Redding and LA. There is only convienience stores, McDonalds and Subway and maybe another.
We stopped at this motel while traveling to the bay area by chance. We were very happy with the check-in process and the rooms. We had a pet friendly room which we found to be clean and odor free. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. I would stay here again even though the breakfast was not much.
Courteous staff, clean comfortable rooms. Even though the hotel was getting renovated the staff was very accommodating and worked around the inconvenience of the work going on. Very nice folks. The room and bed were very comfortable. The one complaint that I had was the use of LED lighting. LED lighting is not conducive to pleasant lighting and does disrupt sleep patterns. It is not this hotel staff's fault that LED lighting is being used in a hotel room that is used to get rest while traveling or visiting the area. I do hope someone from Best Western corporate sees this and acts to minimize the use of LED lighting in their hotel rooms.
I was greeted in the morning by a delightfully young woman. The beds were new and Very comfy. Internet worked well. T.V had minimal selection but I'm not much for television. The lobby was under construction so I skipped breakfast.
The room looked like it was recently renovated. Everything was clean, and the shower worked very well. I was stopping here because I got stuck in traffic driving up to San Francisco and needed a roadside hotel. This fit the bill perfectly.
If you are in the area and need a place to stay for the night, this is the place. Even thou the lobby is under construction they go the extra mile to make up for it, The area is very quite and no freeway noise, I have stayed in Bakersfield and Coalinga for business and I'm glad they moved us to Firebaugh cause the rooms are great, Plus if you ever need a room in Bakersfield DON"T stay at the Vagabound Inn North it;s full of druggies and hookers,
with remodels going on for the lobby at this time you still get thw same service. even though the breakfast is trimmed back because of room, its still a great place to stay. i'd stay there anytime great place to stay
The Best Western is currently under renovation so the usual amenities were not available - it was quiet - nice room - convenient access to I-5 - congested access initially as it was a holiday weekend and numerous service stations
Due to construction of lobby and breakfast area, my rating this trip is much lower. Quality of the rooms is still OK for the age of the facility, and is at a convenient distance on our usual trip. Closure of the Apricot Inn is a setback, but still fast food options available. Staff is great.
Despite the best Western reservation siteMessing up my Room type, The Manager on duty Went the extra mile to make sureThey can accommodate me -- Want to go back again,But will call aheadTo Make sure the reservation was in Correctly
Stayed here many times and always excellent.. This time was no different and clerk gave me special treatment for my small dog. The breakfast was well done and included a good assortment with fruit, cereal and hot offerings..
clean, friendly and priced about right for a older hotel......good location right off the freeway.....only problem no sit down restaurant in the area.....one next door is now closed....the hotel rooms could use a face lift but ok for the money
It's a comfortable room, older motel, not luxurious, it's quiet, bed was comfortable, the free breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Staff was friendly and helpful. There's a pool, it seems like a nice stop to rest and refresh in the middle of a long stretch of driving.
Great room would recommend to anyone passing that way. The pool was a nice bonus. The area was quite and safe. Great for kids. Book in advance it can fill up rather quickly on weekends and holidays. Thank you
This was an oasis on a long drive from An Francisco to Los Angeles. The Mini mall nearby was awesome for food items and the motel pool was clean. The fridge was large and my partner and I didn't even have to argue over which way the toilet paper roll should go because there were two!
Front desk John was wonderful. Very helpful. He gave us maps to visit San Francisco. Room and bath clean. We were disappointed in the TV offered. Few channels and no Guide Felt like 1990 again. Breakfast for weekdays closes at 9:30 and weekends too? Not good for people who want to relax on weekends. They need to change time for weekends to 10:30/11.
Awesome accommadations, friendly staff, comfortable beds and good Wi-Fi reception. Great breakfast, gravy and biscuits, sausage, bacon, waffles, eggs, cereal and all sorts of drinks, TV to enjoy also.
Will not go there again, the room was not clean, there was no shampoo nor body wash in the shower. The area is not very pleasant, there are no restaurants nor proper markets around. It was late and we did not want to drive anymore, and stayed there.
Convenient place to stay approaching LA. Nice people, Clean etc. The only problem was that one of the two ice machines was out of service, and the other was out of ice in the morning. It was exciting to see a bobcat in the nearby field.
We were tired of driving so we decided to stay overnight. There are several fast food places walking distance but no sit down restaurant. The facility is very nice and clean. It is close to the freeway but our room was very quiet. I will definitely stay there again.
Comfortable well maintained rooms; nice decor; good beds; very good breakfast with a wide selection of foods. Our stop was a "break in the drive" and we arrived with no reservations - and no problem. I wish the "Apricot Tree" restaurant adjacent to the hotel had been open (not a BW property so I mention this in passing). Pleasant evening, pleasant staff, good breakfast and reasonable price.
Stopped on the way north. Have stayed here before. Good place to stop. Frig in room a bit noisy. Also people checking in all night kept waking us up. Breakfast was amazing and included! Very nice staff. Helpful.
Staff was EXCELLENT but the hotel is not in the best shape. Walls are peeling and the hotel gives a dirty vibe. The staff was the only thing pleasant at this place. Don't stay here unless you really have no other option.
This hotel is in the right spot, it's convenient and a great place to get a good night rest after a long drive. Every time we drive up to San Jose, we drive late, so now we always make reservations ahead of time. We get a goodnight rest and in the morning we take our time, have breakfast, shower and then take off to our final destination.
We stayed at this hotel when driving back from Southern California. It is very clean, quiet and a good location just off I5. I've stayed at a couple of Best Western Hotels in the past week and they have been very good.
I'm moving across country with my cat. It took us about 5x longer to get out of the Bay Area than I had expected, so at midnight I hadn't gotten any farther than the tiny burg of Firebaugh. Best Western Apricot Inn and its staff = godsend. I had an end room on the first floor in the back of the building. Everything seemed very clean and quite new. This is actually a handicapped accessible room as well as a pet room, so hello big bathroom! The only drawback -- and it is a puzzling one -- is that the only functional window cover are the sheers. There are heavy drapes but they are ornamental only and can't be closed. When you have the a/c on (it was 90 degrees when we arrived) the sheers blow apart, revealing the inside to anyone who wants to look. If I stay here again I'll bring clothespins or something to keep the sheers together.
Best Western is truly the best. All of them were wonderful but this one was particularly well-appointed and inviting. Everything was spotless and nicely laid out. I am looking forward to my next stay here.
Friendly staff and clean rooms, that's really all it took and it's really all it needs, I'll definitely be staying there again when I come back to Firebaugh. I will most likely be bringing my whole work crew
We checked in about 2am, exhausted from driving. The front desk clerk was very kind. We were given an extra hour past check out time because we had checked in so late. Very clean, cozy and quiet. Amazing for the price! There's a couple stores and fast food nearby. It was money well spent for us!
We stayed here on our way to Southern California. The room was large and very comfortable. Had a little trouble getting the TV to work but was able to figure it out without any help. We had a room in the back on the ground floor and it was very quiet except for the air conditioner. It cycled on and off with a very loud clunk and whistled and moaned. We probably should have just had the fan on as it wasn't that hot. We know better for next time. The room had microwave, refrigerator, ironing board, hair dryer, large flat screen tv and a small couch possibly a sofabed (I didn't look). The included breakfast had waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy as well as yogurt, fruit, bagels, bread, pastries, cereal, juice, coffee, tea, etc. very good value and a great stopping place for us. We'll definitely stay here again.
Had to carefully walk to my room. After waling through all of the cockroaches to my room, I was unable to sleep because I was so uncomfortable. What disturbed me the most is that they were all gone when I woke up the next morning. At least they have a sign at the front desk when you check in stating to mind the oriental cockroaches, ticks, fleas, etc as they are very common in the area due to the location of the motel.
This motel was very comfortable and the perfect peaceful place to stop on a long road trip. However, check in is not discreet and truckers in the lobby found out that I was staying alone. Not good. Felt unsafe.
We had stopped for a hotel about 15 miles before on the freeway and did not even want to get out of the car to view the two hotels as they looked horrible. We did not expect to find such a nice hotel in this area. It was as nice as a Marriott or similar hotel. Clean, nice hotel with a great breakfast and everything you would want to choose from for breakfast. The woman that checked us in brought the porta crib right to out room.
best experience in years, clean, well lit, friendly staff. Everything was as expected which for hotels in general, unusual. As a motorcyclist parking is in the top three for safety, here again, top marks.breakfast bar, it was restocked in a timely maner also.
BW Apricott Inn is the place to stop for a good nights sleep when you have to Travel on the Interstate 5. No freeway noise despite being close and the room was very clean and updated. Great valve as continental breakfast is included so we could grab a cup of coffee and a bagel and get back on the road. I would absolutely recommend if you are traveling north or south and need a place to stop.
The staff were very nice but the hotel is a bit old and outdated. There are weeds higher than the building surrounding the Apricot Restaurant. Scary. It was the only hotel in the area so we had no choice for those attending our Wedding at Cardella Winery
Our stay at the Apricot Inn was just fine. It is close to the freeway and therefore was convenient. It allowed us to split the driving time between other hotel options. The room and amenities were just fine. Actually, the breakfast surprised me, in a good way, compared to some of the other BW hotels.
This was our third stay at this hotel. Stopped here for the night on our way to L.A. Great location, close to the freeway, clean, quiet rooms, awesome hot breakfast. There is a nice-looking outdoor pool, but never had the chance to use it as we always arrived to the hotel late at night and left early in the morning. BW never disappoints!
Had a bit of car trouble on our way down the I5, and found this hotel in the middle of nowhere! We were so thankful to have found it! Denise checked us in and was so friendly, and welcoming! Beds were comfortable, clean, loved the finishing on the shower and sink! Shower had built in grip on shower/tub bottom as well as handicap bar for getting in and out. This was so appreciated as my husband and I both had feet surgery in last year and it definatly helped reassure our stability. Room was clean, had hot full water pressure. Breakfast was great as well! Would highly recommend!
On a drive from Portland OR to Palm Springs CA, after 12 straight hours of driving this was a welcome rest stop for overnight. Room was clean, everything worked, and was quiet at night. Gas station and store across the street. Easy freeway access.
Glad we found this Best Western motel. Very friendly and competent staff. Nice rooms at a very affordable price. There was a large selection of breakfast items. We have no complaints or negative issues to write about.
We stayed here last minute while driving through the middle of California on our way back to AZ after visiting family for Thanksgiving. We normally try to make it to one of the bigger cities, but we were tired and ready to be done driving. This hotel was a nice little surprise. It had obviously been recently updated. The rooms were very nice and clean. It is right off the freeway, so if you are on the freeway side of the building there is bound to be a little freeway noise. Our room was quiet. Breakfast in the morning started at 5, which was great since we wanted to be on the road before 6. Breakfast had eggs, sausage, cereal, muffins, etc. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
We stopped here mid-way on our Thanksgiving drive. It was a nice hotel - looked like our room had recently been remodeled. The breakfast was a standard BW breakfast - I LOVE the waffles. :) I would stay here again.
This is a good stay while traveling I-5. It is in a good location for our travel plans and we have stayed here multiple times. All the hotels along this I-5 corridor are single night stays and this is a good one to get some sleep. not a lot of food options but doable
Very clean and well maintained property . The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast had eggs and sausage and not just cold items. Plenty of parking which can be a problem for us as we drive a large pick-up truck. As the hotel is just off the I 5 freeway and tucked behind some gas stations the signage could be better
I was there in Sept. The room was very clean and comfortable. The woman at the desk when I checked in was very nice and helpful. She looked up an address for me and printed out the directions. The woman that was there later was also very helpful. I am staying there again later this month.
During our road trip, this was the place that made the most sense, distance-wise. For that, it was okay. There is a small outdoor pool that we didn't use, no jacuzzi and no exercise room. Our unit had a small microwave that was useful, but not all the rooms have one, so ask about it if that's important to you. There was visible wear on some of the furniture, and the bathroom floor had a strange, slick surface. Couldn't tell if a wax had been improperly applied or what, but it was a bit dangerous. The wait at the reception desk was surprisingly long; service there was very slow. And we were road-weary. The room was a good size, especially for three adults, and we were pretty comfortable. The included breakfast was great.
We discovered this hotel and location years ago when we got lost on the wrong freeway. We have not stayed here for quite a few years, and were pleasantly surprised by the room upgrades. For being in the middle of nowhere, the rooms are decorated very nicely and luxurious, with modern décor. They included a microwave, fridge and free wi-fi. We arrived VERY late in the evening and the desk clerk was pleasant and helpful. This location is situated in an agricultural area. Trucks in the parking lot pointed to lots of workers staying at the hotel; however it was quiet when we arrived. Enjoyed a little laugh as we passed all the boots lined up outside the rooms, but not messy at all. There was plenty of area behind the hotel to let a pet sniff and do their business. A sign posted in the office DOES state insects that can be in the area, advising to keep doors shut. We left ours open a crack for a bit too long and did get a couple flies and nats. The breakfast had many good choices, including protein, cereals, fruit, breads and pastries.
Good folk's and nice place, very accommodating. Guest laundry and mini refrigerator a big plus and breakfast was ready at 6am. Location was excellent for where we were working, but dining out was limited. Parking was not an issue.
It was the name of the Best Western that drew us in. Apricot is my husband favorite fruit. We had stopped at one Best Western in another little town, not good, no vacancy, no cars in the lot. So I looked up the closest BW and saw this one "Best Western Apricot Inn" We called and they were friendly and had a vacancy. When you've stayed at every Best Western up to Best Western Premier. You can see the difference in them. A Regular one can be just a nice as a Premier one. The BW Apricot was just perfect for a good night sleep.
Often when returning from a race weekend at Thunderhill Raceway we head straight for this Best Western as we know we will be treated well with ample parking for my race car trailer, a quiet nights sleep and a good breakfast in the morning, those sweet rolls from the Edna Bakery are the best.
This BW was located at a point when we were ready to get off the road and rest. The hotel was clean and the service was good. Un fortunately, there was no place to eat except very basic fast food Mc Donalds, Subway and Foster's Freeze
Very friendly staff. Slow internet. Swimming pool out of commission during my stay. Rooms clean. Location of property convenient from freeway. Staff kept breakfast essentials as neat as possible, providing fresh fruits and coffee as necessary.
The rooms appear to have been newly renovated and were nicely decorated, spacious, and clean. Breakfast was included -- nothing fancy but there were plenty of options. Staff was polite and helpful. It is conveniently located right off of the 5 freeway, one block from a McDonald's. The outside area was functional. Not a destination, but a good stopping point for a drive on the 5. I could not hear any freeway noise or noise from other rooms (although I am not sure whether the adjoining rooms were occupied). Blankets on the beds were put between two sheets -- I'm not sure if all Best Westerns do this but it seems a smart way to keep them clean.
Had a better experience during an unscheduled overnight stay from drive back to SF from UCSD graduation ceremony than fancy "suite" in San Diego. The suite accommodated 6 but had only 1 bathroom (took 3+ hours each night to prep for bed for each to wait their turn). At Apricot Inn we took 3 rooms & enjoyed the lovely breakfast - at San Diego, we were treated to complimentary coffee in the lobby.
Love staying at the Apricot Inn. This was our second time since it is a half way point on our way home. Staff are always helpful, love being able to walk to eating places, and room is always quiet and very clean. We will definitely stay again in the future if in the area. The highway access is also very easy if you are on Interstate 5.
I was very pleased with the Apricot Inn and the staff. The room was clean and the Hotel was immaculate. Swimming pool and close to fast food, restaurant and Gas station on I-5. The breakfast was adequate with a lot of choices. I would recommend the Apricot Inn to my friends and family.
Not only was Denise extremely competent in handling our check-in, she also explained some of the benefits, value and extra features of your Best Western rewards members perks. We barely pay attention to the emails we received on your program. But thanks to Denise, we will be paying more attention now. A keeper for sure!
Perfect spot to stop in mid-California. The person at the front desk was fabulous! Her name is Carmen (I hope. I had her name written down and it got lost in the move. We stayed there on 5/13/16). When I told her my air conditioner was not running properly, she came to my room to see if she could help. When it would not cooperate with her, she moved me to a different room, offered to carry my bag and then made sure all was right with the new room. The room was standard, clean and quiet. It was an easy in, easy out for our moving van. The checkout gals were super nice, too.
SAdly, the area right next to hotel looks abanonded and run down and it looks like it's part of this hotel. Once inside, totally different story. Rooms recently renovated and breakfast area too. All clean, up to date, and wifi was good.
very nice and quiet stay !! I would recommend it highly !!there are about four different gas stations with markets attached to them and there is a mcdonalds a subway and a fosters freeze too . it was closer to eagle field the all the hotels in los banos so the choice was easy !!
Standard best western. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was ok for a hwy stop. The surrounding area could use a little work. Food and gas are nearby so it makes for an easy short stay. Dog friendly which is a plus for those of us with qa pooch.
A great place to stay! Friendly staff that greeted us during the night we arrived! Rooms are delicate- newly remodeled! It is cleane and look great! Good beds with nice madrasser! And we live the quuck will fi! I hope to find more hotels like this along the road to last vegas! Thank you guys!
The staff was wonderful and super friendly. The breakfast exceeded my expectations. The had a wide variety of items to choose from. Unfortunately I question how well they clean. When we walked in, the room appeared update and smelled clean. The bathroom though wasn't terrible but there were signs of the past guest. Hair in the tub and trash on the floor. I'm hoping it was a fluke. Overall I would stay again and give it another try.
I have stayed at this Best Western about 4-5 times over the last couple years on my way to and from San Francisco area on business and personal trips. If you want a quite place to spend the night with really comfortable beds this is the place. This is a hotel along I-5 in a very non populated area with a Foster Freeze, Mc Donalds, Subway, and a couple of gas stations and a gift shop. I could have chosen to stay north or south of this hotel but I didn't, always a good nights stay here, enjoy,
Very nice hotel. Quiet and secure. Brand new rooms. Very friendly staff. It's about 9:45 and there is a lot of traffic on 5, plus we are all tired. The closest hotel was this one, so we decided to stay here. Lady at the front desk was very nice. As soon as we walked into the room, we were treated with a pleasant aroma. Everything was quite new. It was very nice. The only thing is that it was quite cold, but I guess it is the middle of winter.
We don't often travel with our dog and, due to some initial confusion as to which room was available, we saw first-hand that the pet-friendly rooms receive extra cleaning (including carpet shampoo) between uses. The staff was friendly and helpful and the king bed was very comfortable. The wi-fi was fast and the the included breakfast featured sausage, eggs, a waffle machine, yogurt, juice, etc. All in all, it was a good place to stay and we are happy to recommend it. As others have noted the nearby restaurant has closed and the only alternatives are fast food but the Subway (located in the small market nearby) is a nice change of pace from the fried stuff. Also, we made the mistake of gassing up at a stop about 35 miles south of this location - I wish we'd waited as the gas at the stations near this motel is priced considerably lower.
We stopped here while heading down to So Cal. We were super tired and this was the first place we came across once we decided to stop. Quite the nice older Best Western. Clean, breakfast was GREAT, quiet, right of the interstate. My one and only complaint is that the room didn't have a hair dryer. The ONLY hotel I've found these days that doesn't have one - I finally decide to leave my dryer at home because all places have one - oops...not this time
The staff was very helpful. And its set back away from traffic so it was quiet. I had a good rest. There wasn't a good choice of restaurants at this location, ( McDonalds etc. was all that was there). But the motel was good.
Easy to get to, friendly staff, pet friendly, clean room and free continental breakfast. Great if you're just traveling through and need a place to stop for the night. Annette at check-in was very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
A decent property with clean, good-sized rooms and a nice pool. In spite of the proximity to I-5, room noise didn't seem to be a problem. The ceilings are a little thin, so if you're a light sleeper, try the second floor. And with the restaurant closed, they attempt to bridge that gap with an included breakfast. So it's a comfortable place if you want to stop in the middle of the valley.. Two issues. - Staff isn't terribly service oriented. We were there with a large group that filled up quite a bit of the motel (not the typical travelers who might try to be on the road at 6 am) and they couldn't be bothered with a request for help with some breakfast items slightly outside of their set hours. One staff member ignored me and seemed more interested in having her own breakfast; another cited policy and refused to help. Strike one - Be forewarned: a bigger issue is that several people in the same group had their credit card numbers stolen. Initially we assumed it was overseas hackers, but the Fresno County detectives are investigating it and haven't ruled out an inside job. I hate to post this and scare people away from an OK place to sleep, but also want to forewarn people stopping in.
I was impressed by all the room's amenities and decor, the room was very clean! I'm a very critical person and for me to say "The room was very clean" that's saying something! Breakfast was great and so was customer service. Enjoyable stay...
This is a nice hotel off interstate 5. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bathrooms are better than your average highway hotel. They serve a complimentary breakfast and offer free internet. The Apricot restaurant is closed but there are several fast food restaurants nearby. I recommend this motel.
This is a fine little motel off the main drag. The staff was pleasant and the complimentary breakfast had everything you can think of. The room décor was up to date and we enjoyed our short stay here.
We had been traveling for 12 hours this day. There are not very many choices on Hwy 5. Room was nothing fancy but clean. A good place for a quick stay. We had a concern of this being a pet-friendly motel as we had problems with a different pet-friendly motel (dogs barking constantly and bad odor in room) The lady who check us in was very welcoming to us checking out the room before making our decision. We were very thankful for that.
Very friendly night clerk made us feel welcome. After finding 'no vacancy' signs on three other locations we were so happy she had one. Especially on the ground floor. Clean room with nice décor. Quaint breakfast available; breakfast area a bit small. Would stay again... great staff.
The location of this Best Western Excellent to Sausalito, Muir Woods,San Francisco, & Golden Gate. Great Resturant in the area directly off freeway. Great view of water. Large rooms, very clean and plenty of parking at no charge.
I was returning from a Family emergency and could not make it home that last night of travel. I remembered the Apricot Inn Best Western from a previous trip. Thankfully there was a room available and it was pretty late. I got the rest I needed and was able to make it to work in Pleasanton, CA by 9:30 AM. Thank you for being there for me on such a stressful trip.
There were two minor problems that were dealt with quickly and professionally. It was clean and neat, close to all the lplces we wanted to go and far enough out of the city where there were no hassles or traffic.
Eating area is way to small. Had to take food to room, as there was no place to sit. Pool was filthy and unusuable. The parking area and grounds are littered with pine needles, dirt, beer caps, cigarette packs and broken glass. Very noisy. Definitely will not return.
careing, polite staff.after a long day of driving the last thing one needs is to be held up checking in to a motel.thats one reason we stay at best western.in most cases the staff can give directions or recommend a good place for dinner.
This is hotel Is nice. I stayed in 202 and 143 and both rooms are recently remodeled and I thought they were done pretty well. My pillows smelled a bit like smoke and the beds were like sleeping on cement slabs. I didn't sleep more than 5 hours total in the whole three nights I was there I was that uncomfortable. However, it is close to where I need to be but I won't stay here again just because of the bed situation. Would love if their remodel included a hot tub. They have more than enough room for one and that would have at least been nice for the body after the awful beds. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent. Didn't like that they expired my room cards after the first night when I had a three night reservation. Also a little pricey for what you actually get but not too bad.
We stopped here for the night out of necessity after driving nearly 800 miles. Front desk service was slow and unfriendly. Our room was just okay, seemed dingy and the chair in the room should have been contributed to Goodwill long ago.The overall surroundings did not feel safe. The breakfast in the morning was easily the worst Best Western breakfast we have ever experienced. When we went to check out, there was a sign "Be Back in a Minute". After about a ten minute wait we gave up. We will not stay here again.
All three visits had the same issues. The place is being updated but the work in the rooms looks sloppy. All three rooms did not look vacuumed but maybe it's the vacuum not the maid. The room smells strong of perfume and the fitted sheet under the one you sleep on had blood or something on it meaning they changed the top sheets but did not notice the big chunk of blood on the side towards the wall. The outside looks very dirty, mattress's and frames in the back ice machine leaking. The good side is the breakfast is nice bed is comfortable. The front desk did not charge me for my pets which was real nice.
I-5 had construction so ended staying here, which was a great surprise. It is located in a truck stop area. The hotel was being remodeled, had truck parking, and really nicely done. There was breakfest, which was good.
