"Enjoyed our stay"

We enjoyed our short stay, staff was nice, no problems at the moment of checking in or checking out, the rooms were clean and nice, pool was a little small, but enought to cool down for a little bit, 2 small jacuzzis and a lap lane, enough to keep the 3 kids we had with us having fun

When I first came into the hotel, I immediately felt good about the place. It smelled clean and was clean. The receptionist/hotel attendant (Geri) was very helpful and pleasant. We checked the room out and did not find anything of concern. Considering I am staying for 10 days, the only thing missing was a microwave. I could have used that, but overall I was happy. Also, the best and most awesome thing about staying is it is near ASU and that is a plus since I have a family member attending there. I'll be coming back again for another visit and hope there will be available rooms. I don't usually give responses right away since this was my only first day, but I had to for this visit. Also, for the price, you can't beat it. I got a great deal.

Wife and I stayed here for what was going to be one night. We decided to extend for a couple more days. I looked at my credit card statement and the amount charged should have been $186.83 total. Instead was charged $367.72 as the total. I previously was told that there would be a $50 hold on my card, just in case I used the shuttle, their dry cleaning service (there are no washer/driers on site), or bought their water (I didn't use any of their services). I called the credit card company and they said that the hotel did do a $170.15 refund that wouldn't be available for 3-5 days. This still left me getting overbilled by $10.74. This inconvenience wasn't a big deal to me and I still was going to extend my stay as the front desk employees were polite. However, I didn't want anymore holds put on my card. Everything was going good until Manager Michael got involved. He stated that I originally had booked two days (not true) and then he stated that I scratched something out on the receipt when I checked in (again, not true). When I tried to explain what happened, he gave me his version (basically calling me a liar). I believe that he was expecting me to be confrontational so he automatically went on the defensive. I felt that he was aggressive towards me and tried to put the blame on me. When I wrote a negative review of his actions, he feels compelled to email me. He doesn't email me to try and correct anything, he emails me to insinuate that it is me with the problem and not him. In his email, he stated: "Your off the cuff comments with regards to me as a person only goes to show the character of the person leveling those character attacks." If you read any of the negative comments that Michael has replied to, you will see that he likes to place blame on the customer. He has been very demeaning in some of his comments. I will avoid this place in the future as Michael Luna only wants to place blame instead of accepting any responsibility. I still don't understand how a $50 refundable fee turned into a $170.15 fee for a three day stay. So Michael; yes, I take full responsibility for my actions of staying in a hotel when your name comes up repeatedly in negative reviews. I should have listened instead of giving you the benefit of the doubt and staying at your hotel. I guess I will just have to suck up the extra $10.74 overcharge as well. I'm sure your arrogance will take you far in your career.

Dear Eric Wiley, Thanks again for continuing to attack me, as I said in my email(the rest which you failed to post) I was trying to assist you in understanding the charges you had at the Hotel, our GSA Bri tried to explain them and you had a hard time understanding, at no point in time did I insinuate nor call you a liar, I simply pointed out the charges and you accepted then decided to write reviews attacking my character along with some due to a conversation that lasted all of 3 minutes. I'm happy you posted that small excerpt from my email correspondence to you because, AGAIN, your attacks speak volumes about who you are. I have been in Hotel Industry for many years, opening up New Hotels, traveling to new cites all across this Great Country and the World, got the opportunity to meet some amazing people and have excelled at the highest levels due to my stellar Guest Service, and I learned many things but what I carry with me most is this; when I encounter a person such as yourself that attacks without no cause I pause and tell my self to forgive, you might have some issues going on in your Life to make you act in such a way and for that I forgive and forget. "OK apart from the extra room guests"

First room i booked into on the ground floor had some kind of jumping bugs in it that buzzed very loudly. I killed 2 of these things then found the remains of another unnder the chair. there was still a louding buzzing coming from behind the bed which is when i asked for a differnt room. 2nd room was on the 3rd floor. room was Ok, nothing special. On the first morning I was there i went to wash my face in the sink and a very large cockroach come out of the plug hole. I managed to wash it down and get the plug in and i also blocked the overflow hole. I had to leave a not for the house keeping every day to make sure they did not take the plug out. I reported the cockroach issue to the reception and was told the room has been sprayed. but i could not see or smell any evidence of this. The comment from one of the reception staff was "there is a lot od building work around us and if they are in the drains there is nothing we can really do". The Hotel charge $5 for the airport shuttle., which i used twice. both times i paid this fee in cash. but since coming home i have discovered a $5 charge on my credit card. So will be contacting the hotel to see what this was for? I used one of the hotel safety deposit boxes. which was fine except one time when i went to access my box instead of the reception staff giving me the box to open they opened it and gave me the things i had put in it. The staff should not be opening the guest deposit boxes and removing the contents. I stayed at this hotel from 2nd - 5th July. it was a good location for the 4th July fireworks. as you could watch them from the bridge just minutes away from the hotel. i was given this advice by the airport shuttle driver who was very helpful. This would not be a hotel that i will stay in again on my next visit to the area.

First they tell you they need an extra $50 deposit on top of the room fee, which wouldn't even a big deal except the 1st room we were offered stunk of cigarettes and they were installing a room filter. Unacceptable! 2nd room had a broken towel rack, a leaky fridge and a loose air conditioning pad. Stay somewhere else! Worst Best Western we have ever reserved!

"Favorite Hotel When Traveling"

We have stayed here many times over the years when traveling out of state. We stay here for the proximity to the airport, the safety of our vehicle at the property & the attentive staff. The hotel staff has always been friendly & helpful. The room updates are beautiful & we like that there's tile throughout the room! The walk-in showers are great! If you need a tub, best ask for a room with one. We've found the water pressure without issues. While near the highway, the rooms have good insulation & are quiet. We take advantage of their park-and-fly service. There is plenty of parking. There has been no issues with the safety of our vehicle no matter the length of trip. The van drivers are safe & responsible. The breakfast has many food choices, with indoor & outdoor seating. We appreciate the water & coffee in the lobby, nice when arriving & to grab a quick cup on the way out!

"Worst experience"

I doubt the staff here are unreliable and not trust worthy Somebody from the hotel staff stole the credit card information given to them and mis used it As a consequence in the middle of travel the credit card itself got cancelled putting us in to great difficulties A very unlikely and unpleasant experience in a hotel like this

It sounds like you had some credit card issues during your trip, that by no means equates to an employee stealing your credit card information. "There are much better properties"

Room was not sufficiently cleaned. AC was very loud. No temp control on fridge that I found. Right on freeway, loud. Only one way to access property from street, other direction requires a lengthy u turn. Restaurant was permanently closed.

I would give this hotel a 3.5-star rating if I could. It deserves more than a standard 3-star rating, but it's not worthy of 4 stars. I stayed here for one night after arriving in Phoenix from Australia. The location was ‘central enough' to the few things I wanted to see—the desert gardens and a few shops in downtown Phoenix. It's also right opposite an In-N-Out and Starbucks. I am not entirely sure if it's convenient to other attractions in Phoenix, but—as I said—I was only here for a very short time. I had a renovated king room on the ground floor. It was quite nice. But I wasn't too pleased with the poor water pressure and temperature in the shower. These are two things I absolutely hate about hotel stays. I was hoping the water would warm up, but it didn't. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't warm either. And if there's any noisy kids next door or in the hall, you can hear them. Sadly. The hotel seems to be located right off a highway/freeway/express, which makes it easy to get to and from, and they provide free parking. And there are plenty of vacant spots to choose from. I'm not sure if Tempe offers much for people staying in Phoenix for more than one night, but the room at Best Western Inn of Tempe met my needs (minus the water issues!).

"Met our Needs"

We prefer to stay in Best Western Plus but we just needed a place to crash for a night till our AirBnB was available. The pool is more of a lap pool despite that kids seemed to be having more than enough fun with it. As a family of four with all adults we were underwhelmed, especially once kid were in the pool the noise level was uncomfortable. The rooms are on the smaller side and no tub, hairdryer, or microwave. The Wifi was difficult and not always reliable. Breakfast was good with variety but a second waffle maker would have been nice. We enjoyed the outside seating option for breakfast. Despite the hotel itself being mediocre the staff was super nice and accommodating. They were very helpful with questions or additional needs.

In regards to your room I wanted to address some items, we recently renovated our bathrooms and replaced the tubs with shower pans, our restrooms are small in our standard rooms so our design team felt the pans would open it up just a bit, we normally have hair dryers in each rooms.... I apologize that this wasn't provided, if we have the opportunity in the future to make amends please know we offer Deluxe rooms that are 150 SQ FT larger, walk in closet, over sized jetted tub in the bathroom and more space than the room you stayed in. I'm happy to hear the Team was on point as usual with regards to service, we may not be a 5 star Hotel or the biggest or the best Hotel on the block but we certainly provide 5 star service. "Great Property, updated and very clean!"

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in early April. We loved this place! This was the first hotel we have ever stayed at that didn't have carpeting in the room, absolutely loved that! The rooms were updated and modern. Yes one of the two elevators was out of service, but it was not an inconvenience at all.. and we were on the 3rd floor. Very friendly front desk staff. The only mild complaint would be the breakfast room is kind of outdated, but I'd assume they will be addressing that since they are in the process of updating the rest of the property. I'd highly recommend staying at this property!

"Better Places to Stay"

This hotel is sadly in need of a full face lift. One of the elevators was broken, the room and bathroom were very small, the quality of linens was very poor, uncomfortable beds, and the shuttle service that does not accommodate late arriving guests after 11pm was a big disappointment. I would not stay here again.

BeachMtnDesert, Thank you for your Unique perspective of the Hotel, we just completed our interior renovations of the Hotel, new flooring, beds, linens, case goods and more, we are not done, we plan to address the carpets in the hallways and then move out to the Exterior. I do apologize for the elevator being out, we have to undergo a major construction endeavor in order to make it work again and the parts are in route, the elevator will be completed next Friday, luckily for our small Hotel we have 2 elevators. "Hard to access the hotel from the traffic heading from University towards Highway"

Liked the laminate floors in the room, appeared a lot cleaner than hotels with carpet. Breakfast was hot and adequate. They also had a menu of items for lunch and dinner that appeared to be delivered to your room from a third party. Didn't try that. Wasn't bad overall for less than 100 a night. Would stay here again.

Hotel lobby is very nice and clean. Chocolate chip cookies and water available complementary for guests. Hot tub open 24/7 which is amazing. Room was spacious. Breakfast had scrambled eggs, cubed potatoes, and sausage as well as many standard continental breakfast items. Staff was friendly especially Anthony at the front desk. Thank you for your help at check-in.

Even though it is a free shuttle the driver demanded us to tip him $15/ ride which was way more than just ubering. He ended up following us up to our room to intimidate us into tipping him ( and we did). After which we just ubered everywhere.

"Clean and Comfortable"

I was here for a 3 night work trip and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms are clean, modern, and updated which is surprising because the outside of the building leaves some to be desired. The bed is soft and comfortable and big! There's plenty of parking, the whole place is quiet, and they have fruit infused water at reception. There are also cookies for snacks in the afternoon.The location in general is nice - close to the airport, ASU, and some places to eat. Breakfast is included but I did not have it- most of the stuff is finished by 8:30ish. I would absolutely stay here again!

We were greeted when we came in. The lobby was nice and it only took a second. The room was nice and the pull out was good. The place was clean and the service was excellent. We had to call for several things and they did not hesitate to bring the items. The breakfast was good and they had a variety of items to choose from. The only regret was they had no self serve laundry. Been on the road and had to find a laundry. They did however told us of one.

It was told to us right away that since we rented through Expedia, we were 2nd class. 3 times we were told...Oh, you rented through a 3rd party. Our room was the furthest away and no rooms were reserved for 3rd party on lower floors. Our shower had soap and shaving cream scum all over it and the bed had a constant squeak in it. Glad it wasn't a honeymoon couple! On check out, tried to get a printed copy of our receipt and was told they wouldn't since we were a 3rd party customer. Never again, Bedt Western. Your price for the night was $50 more per night than Expedia. Why would any normal, middle class American pay more?

Having said that, I want to address the challenges your mentioned specifically so that others understand firsthand that your allegations of being treated like "2nd class" hold absolutely no water at this Hotel. 1. When we checked you in to your room we called the room to ensure your satisfaction(this happens on all check in's), at the time you never mentioned anything about soap and shaving cream, if It was my room I would have reached out to the front desk immediately so that I can change rooms, who would want to stay in a room like that? 2. As you mentioned, you Booked through a 3rd party and paid THEM, NOT us, we can't give you a receipt because you were already given one at the time of booking by the 3rd party, this is standard when you book through a 3rd party, you pre-pay and they provide a receipt of your transaction. When people wield such wild accusations I feel that there must be some transparency, if not on behalf of the guest then on the behalf of the Hotels integrity, so to reiterate, our Hotel welcomes all walks of life, we don't treat others less then merely because you made a reservation through a 3rd party booking, we welcome the opportunity to host any and all. "Don't let the outside fool you..."

When you drive up, this unit is bland and unassuming. Inside, it's updated and sleek! Ceramic wood-look tiles on the floors, the medium gray decor is contemporary. The beds are comfortable, but the pillows are Chiclets....small squares. I was told that they will be replaced with real pillows... This property is very close to the airport, and a $5 fee gets you a shuttle ride with a very friendly driver. This is a good option for an airport motel. (Ask for a room away from the highway, if you need quiet.)

The hotel staff are wonderful and the rooms are kept nice and clean. I only have one criticism: they should make the entrance to the hotel property more visible from the street. It was a very small and sharp turn from a very busy street and hard to see at night.

"Convenient & Quiet"

We stayed here after attending a performance at Calvalia. They offered us a shuttle ride anywhere we wanted to go within 3 miles. We took them up on that as parking and driving around in Tempe is difficult at best. The room was immaculate and very quiet. I was worried when I saw how close it is to the 202 freeway, but we didn't hear a thing. The breakfast was nice. All in all, we enjoyed our stay there.

Hotel is fine and a decent value. I would have given 4 or 5 stars expect the north windows of hotel are about 50 yards from Interstate 202. Tons of trucks, loud sports cars and motorcycles going past all night. Otherwise the place was a good value. I would stay again ONLY if they guaranteed the South side of building. Normally noise does not bother me and I can sleep through almost anything, but this hotel is too close to the highway!

If you are stuck in Phoenix to access the airport be very careful of the rates. Spring break is the ultimate time for price gouging. $200/Night and the Tempe BW,s are not the Marriot. I stayed here for one night and was very impressed. Everything was clean and the room smelled good. I love that the floors are tiled instead of carpeted. Fronthe desk staff was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood wasn't bad, with lots of restaraunts all around. I was up and out of there too early to try the complimentary breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 3 nights. Convenient location with most sites within 5 miles. Lots of parking and although website says check in is from 3 to midnight, the desk is actually staffed all night. Check in was quick & pleasant staff person. The room is average size, & overlooked the freeway so noisy, but not overly so to miss sleep. Small refrigerator (barely cold). The hotel needs updating. Appears only thing that was updated was the shower stall, which has a low threshhold of a couple inches so be sure shower curtain completely covers both ends so you don't drench floor. Bathroom is so small that you can't close door with bath mat on floor. There is literally 2 feet between shower & door. AC, bathroom fan, toilet paper holder...everything is loud & old. Walls are paper thin because daughter could hear couple next door in one of their private moments, & the staff accessing the storage room on the other side. Breakfast is included...eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, one waffle maker so always a line, oatmeal, whole fruit, coffee, tea, juices. Small dining interior so sat outdoors by pool.

Stayed here for our annual Spring Training trip. Tempe is a great base city as you can walk to Sloan Park of Hohokam and it's just a short drive to Scottsdale stadium. This hotel is located right next to the highway but is in the heart of all the activity. Close to ASU and there are many good restaurants within walking distance. Also you can walk the Tempe Lake shore for a good morning leg stretch. Staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and well taken care of. Good spot!

This hotel was in a great location. Very friendly staff. We had 11 guys and were all on the 3rd. floor. This worked out great as they had a very nice lounge area with tv and computers in this area on this floor, so, it gave us an area to gather in. The breakfast was very good. They even made us a special area for breakfast one day as we need to leave early for golf that morning. We will stay there again for sure. The staff went out of their war to make our stay great!

We stayed two night and I would say it matched up to other reviews. The rooms in the hotel are clean , but the hotel could use some updating. The towels in the bathroom are thin, the bed and pillows so so. The highway 202 can be noisy and one morning we heard the planes. Having the fan on helps with the noise and asking to be away from the highway The front desk is friendly and helpful . They do have a shuttle service to airport and small radius around the area , which helped when we went to the ASU , so you do not have to worry about parking . The breakfast is standard, oatmeal, cereal, make your own waffles, yogurt , breads, bagel, eggs , biscuits and gravy , juice , coffee and tea. The area is small with outside seating. The ladies did a great job in keeping the area clean and refilled. If in the area I would stay again

"Handy to highway"

I was using my GPS and the only reason I turned on the property was my GPS said to. their signage is very week and the roadway nearby is busy with traffic. I had a good nights sleep in a clean room and breakfast was good. i have status with BW but never got a room upgrade as i did at other BW 's on my 2 week trip. Perhaps none were available.

We were happy with our choice of this hotel in Tempe. We were there for 4 nights. Our room was very clean and I liked the fact that there was no carpet in the room - it gave a very clean feel to it. The carpet in the hallway was a little stained and old.They have a small fitness center and two indoor hot tubs, an indoor lap pool and a small outdoor pool and sitting area. The outdoor area was shaded all day, so would be nice in the summer heat, but not a place to get some sun. The free breakfast is nice with a lot of variety. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the highway side and it was noisy at night with the road noise. We ran the AC fan all night to cover the noise. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the highway.

None of the 4 ice machines were working so NO ice. TV remote only worked if you were standing next the TV. They sent someone whose was very condescending. Housekeeping knocked on door at 8am and then tried to open door while I was dressing. Thank goodness bolt was on. Will NOT stay there again.

Gerri at the front desk is a person who really knows customer service at the highest level. I had an issue with my room, a leak of all things which was caused by a customer above my bathroom so I found out. Gerri came up personally to clean up the wet area of my bathroom also made arrangements to have me move to a better room on the first floor and printed out the directions to my scheduled meeting location which was brought up in casual conversation. Gerri really made my stay a very enjoyable experience thank you.

I will start by saying that the service is a 5. They really went out of their way to help us with anything we asked. Everyone was friendly. The shuttle service is outstanding and the location very good. Unfortunately, the building is just old. I think they are trying to give it a facelift, but the design isn't there. For example, one person cannot get up to use the bathroom without shining a light in everyone else's face. The bath towels were small and thin. The fitness center is tiny, dark, and cramped with old and minimal equipment. When we visited there was no water or towels available for fitness use (although they were happy to help us out from the front desk when we asked.) The beds were very creaky. The cooling units old style. The breakfast was good and our room was relatively quiet. So, overall it met our needs, but I'm usually looking for a bit more comfort when I travel. Some of these issues may have been smaller if I were staying by myself. Guess it just depends what you are looking for in your stay. We were on a tight budget at the time and BW offered a very reasonable price. So I guess we got what we paid for :)

This is my second review on best western hotels so I'm thinking it's just a BW standard. First check in was easy and the clerk was friendly. Got to our first room and as soon as the door opened the smell of marijuana was very strong. I called down and he stated he was sending someone up. The gentlemen that came up stated he had a cold but could “kinda smell chronic” uummm ok!!! So he went back down and bought a key up for a new room and glade spray!! So second room It was clean but a huge hole where the door slams into the wall. The room looked like it had newer stuff in it but it is very small. There was a chair squeezed between the wall and bed against the wall, a desk, tv stand with a small tv and two queen beds.the bathroom is tiny. Stand up shower and toilet. The sink backed up and won't drain. There are holes were the old towel rack was with fresh paint over them. The breakfast typical continental breakfast. The place was clean. The pool is not really a pool it's a very small lap pool and can be used by 1 person at a time! It is kinda hard getting in and out of the parking lot. It's a one way getting out so you have to maneuver around to get back on freeways. The gym was nice. Staff was great! Will look elsewhere next time coming to Phoenix.

We call to the “ Best Western” company and ask what hotel in Phoenix have jacuzzi in the room.” Operator give us number this hotel , I call and ask questions. All my questions was positive and we think we have the same Best western like we stop in San Antonio.When we come , we pass many big , nice hotels Best western, and the more we come to this area, the more scary we begin . It was very hard to find hotel . We make 3 circle to finally come to right place . When we park , it was like 3 police car in parking lot of hotel. Some Homeless just walking around hotel . Hotel location exactly on very busy street. In the room you hear airplane and car all night. The room wall is dark grey color without carpet . We feels like we come to the bad hospital . In the room was very cold . When try to set up heater it's not working. The towel what we have was really grey color. Look like they use them couple years and never change. I ask many time , jacuzzi in the room? They tell me “yes”. What we have? Small bathtub with 4 jets in the bathroom, two of them not working. 100$ Marriott. We pay more for that . Never stay here.

vasilek_11, I would love to speak to you with regards to your concerns, because in looking at my Guest Ledger over the past 30 days I don't see your name registered as a Guest??.... but just to clarify, we DO NOT HAVE "JACUZZI TUBS" in our rooms, we have over sized jetted tubs, we don't shy away from that because of the fact that we don't want to give the impression we have "Jacuzzi tubs"....all Best Western Hotels are uniquely designed yet with a foundation that is immersed in Best Western Values. I could continue with regards to why cops could be in the parking lot(they pulled someone over and this was the safest place to pull over, many other variables), or as to why "homeless" were walking around(please note we do not have "homeless hanging around")we take our guests safety and security with great regard. "Decent Hotel for a Good Price"

The hotel was one of the better prices around that doesn't charge for extra parking which was a big bonus. The location isn't far from campus and very close to the stadium if you are going for a game. Mill Ave isn't too terribly far either if you want to walk, especially along the river front. Also the proximity to the 202 makes it quicker that if you were staying at many of the other ASU hotels. The only issue with the location is Scottsdale/Rural Rd at this point has a median where you can't turn left out of the hotel and get on to the 202 without having to turn around at the next light which is a bit frustrating (not the fault of the hotel at all). Also you have to make sure you turn right as you get off the 202 or Scottsdale Rd after the 202, the entrance can be hidden and the Best Western sign is not that large, the next parking lot for the Audio Express doesn't allow access into the hotel parking lot (which I over shot the entrance my first time driving there. Hotel itself was easy enough to check into. Got there early and got our room. Front desk explained all the details of the hotel and such so that was great and told us the breakfast times (weekend hours and weekday hours). Room was a lot more modern looking than the lobby of the hotel and especially the hallways which looked old and outdated. So it is very different from what I was expecting (I liked the room decor). Modern bed, decent sized fridge (another reason for us choosing this hotel), one window that's on an angle which did make the room kind of dark. Also the room had a lounge chair and a work desk. The only issue with the rooms or at least our room is the bathroom is very small and the shower (not a bath/shower) was very low to the ground (much like North Eastern European hotels seem to all have), this meant turning on the shower may end up spraying all over the floor and I didn't see a drain system on the floor to remove any excess water so we had to waste a few dry towels to mop up the water. The bathroom is also very small (unlike the room itself that had quite a lot of room). Pillows were a bit different too and I found them kind of hard to sleep on with how I sleep, as they are 5 small pillows and not the full sized ones. I'm sure many people would be fine with them, but I just wasn't able to get a comfortable sleep with them as I like 2 pillows and it was kind of hard to do. On the 2nd and 4th floor they have a lounge area with 2 computers and a printer which was great if you needed to print anything out or even just to use the computer to do whatever, also a big TV a couch and many board games you can use which I thought was a fun thing to have in a hotel like this. Rooms facing the 202 can be a bit noisy as well. The pool area is a bit different, with what seems like 2 or 3 hot tubs and one very odd long and narrow swimming pool. Not a normal pool at all, but all except one hot tub (I think it was a hot tub) were inside. However looked like a decent gym and the pool and gym are open 24 hours. Breakfast has hot made foods you can have, so much better than those bagel and juice type hotels, here you can get bacon and eggs and cereals with juices, biscuits and gravy, etc. So that was a great thing to have. For the price I'd be tempted to stay again here at this hotel in the winter time when I wouldn't need a pool to use. Great for our Christmas base actually, but for summers I enjoy the outdoor pool settings, but that could change if I come for a game again during football season. I've stayed at quite a few hotels over the decades every year in Tempe, so I am familiar with what other places offer and this was the cheapest rates for a good stay, especially when you factor in parking fees that some of the ones closer to campus tack on...

My husband and I were taking a trip to Arizona. Along the way, our car had some troubles which required us to change our plans and make last minute adjustments to our hotel arrangements at the Best Western Inn of Tempe. This happened several times, but the General Manager, Mike and Philly both were very accommodating and patient with us. We eventually made it there and they had our room ready (an upgrade) and a Christmas bag with a nice note and chocolates and Hickory Farms waiting for us! What a nice surprise that was! Thanks for all you did for us shuttling us back and forth to the mechanic shop. We will never forget your kindness.

Loved staying at this hotel! The only down fall was it was being remodelled and we didn't know so we missed it coming off the freeway because there were no signs and it was very dark. Your stay comes with free breakfast which was great! Employees were very helpful and i would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

Couldn't believe this was the hotel I'd booked when i rolled into the parking lot. Literally ON the freeway off ramp with a parking lot filled with undesirable looking people who were clearly not staying at the hotel. This did not feel like a safe place to be or stay and so i ended up booking at a hotel closer to downtown Tempe. My suggestion: Avoid. Unfortunate because I usually like Best Western and can count on good quality and location for a reasonable price...not in Tempe!

The room was clean, bed was comfortable and updated. The bathroom was very small and unusually located, was completely visible from the bed. When getting up at night the bath light would wake up anyone sleeping. The floors are tiled, while normally would seem like a plus, but they were cold and made the TV have a hollow echo sound. The breakfast was awesome and the location was great. It was also very reasonably priced.

I found hair on the floor that wasn't mine and a baby cockroach. When I told the front desk staff she said "I'm sorry" and laughed. She offered no attempt for a resolution. I've stayed at this hotel before and it has certainly gone down in its quality.

The rooms were clean, it was quiet at night, and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast, which had plenty of food, both hot and cold. We were very conveniently located close by the park where the Arizona Ironman was held!

Larger rooms are all on highway side of hotel and it;s very difficult to sleep at night. There was also noise from main thoroughfare between which this hotel is sandwiched. We had to run the fan all night to dampen the traffic noise.

Nice Newley remodeled rooms! Yummy hot breakfast with waffles! Comfy bed! Even with the remodel still in progress on outside of hotel our stay was excellent! My only complaint is not towards the hotel but towards the hotel guests letting their kids run around the halls screaming.

Great location central to a lot of the Phoenix area. Asked for an upgrade and got it right away. It pays to be a Reward member. This place doesn't charge a ton of points either. Very clean rooms and very helpful staff. I? would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I've stayed here on numerous occasions since this property is walking distance to the ASU stadium. I was delighted to see that the rooms have been updated since my last stay. There is a Starbucks, In N Out, and a Denny's also within walking distance, which is a major plus. While I can appreciate the updating in the rooms, there is no space in the shower to store any toiletries unless they don't fall off of the handrail. The larger than usual refrigerator is also a nice touch. If I could add one small item to the room, it would be a safe. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back again!

This is a very nice BW. It's new, clean and quiet even though next to freeway. It is perfect for going to an ASU game. However, traffic in the area is heavy and motel access is difficult so you may want to stay at another BW if going to events outside of Tempe. The motel does run a shuttle to areas within 3 miles.

I have been coming to the Phoenix area for the last six years to watch Arizona Fall League baseball games. Four of the six years I have stayed at the BEI-T. I have never been disappointed. If I get to return next year and the room rates are reasonable, I will stay there yet again.

I haven't stayed at a Best Western in almost 20 years because the chain is typically known for providing low cost rooms managed by individual franchise owners who did the bare minimum to make your stay bearable. So, with this concern in mind I booked the hotel only to be pleasantly surprised. The facility sits in a cul-de-sac adjacent to Loop 202/N Scottsdale. When we walked into the lobby I was very happy to see updated décor and friendly staff who made it a point to greet us every time we passed by. Check in was a breeze and we proceeded to our room, along the way we checked out the mini pool and spa that looked very inviting--this place definitely makes the most use of the limited space they have. Our room was amazing! the updated clean, look was absolutely well above anything I have ever experienced at any other Best Western hotel I've ever stayed. The bed was huge and comfy, the bathroom/shower were clean and easy to use and get in/out. The AC was very noisy but I somehow expected it to be. Also, PLEASE ensure you pull the door closed firmly every time you leave your room, the doors don't close automatically and the locks don't lock correctly and may open on their own if the lock is not fully engaged-someone pushed our door open while we are eating lunch only to be surprised when they saw us and realized they were in the wrong room. The spa/gym area were decent enough to work up a sweat. Breakfast was Ok, but when it's free and gets you by until lunch there's really not much to complain about except, the dining room is freezing all the time, there are two huge vents keeping you cool while you try to eat and, the door leading to the small patio always slams as people go in and out, the locking mechanism is locked open to allow access but should be replaced with the proper hinge to allow people to open the door properly. The rooms and entire facility are very clean and well kept except there's one overall concern in the parking lot--at least 1/2 dozen feral cats roam the grounds and present a health hazard when they try to cozy up to you when walking in the area. The hotel is in a great spot to get to ASU games but here are a few helpful hints to navigate anywhere else: If you intend on going North on Scottsdale Road or go on Loop 202 you must go south and execute a U-Turn at the nearest intersection, it's a treacherous maneuver at times when there's a lot of traffic. Also, DO NOT drive out of the Hotel during ASU football games, all the streets surrounding the hotel are shut down during the 3rd quarter and you will not be able to get back to the hotel until after the game ends and all the traffic is purged out of the stadium area, hard lesson learned! Also, Tempe PD seems to have a constant presence in the parking lot and adjacent area, we saw two people get arrested on two separate occasions during our stay. Even though the hotel sits next to the busy 202 loop, the traffic noise is barely noticeable. However, the jet noise of incoming flights into phoenix airport is a lot more noticeable some days. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by the great changes Best Western has made to his facility and would definitely recommend it for a quick getaway.

A bit pricey but worth it for service, convenience to airport and location in general. They do not have bottled water in the rooms but do have a fridge and will supply bottled water if you ask the front desk. Good service van to airport plus pick up if you call them from airport and have a reservation.

In the area, it is a good hotel, conveniently located, reasonably priced with good amenities. Great Jacuzzi, pools, nice outdoor patio, decent breakfast. The Jacuzzi rooms are very roomy. The only real downfall is the level of noise, especially outside, by freeway and airport and getting off the street and having to make a U-turn to head north. But a denny's next door and a starbucks across the street.

This is a great place to stay and the breakfast is awesome. Everything we could think of and perfectly done. Convenient to Arizona State University and even downtown Phoenix. Shuttle is good to and from the airport and Uber is swarming and will take you anywhere for a pittance. All is clean and well maintained. the pool as a small lap pool but fits the space is well shielded. This is a go to place for us.

We arrived in Tempe for the Oregon v ASU football game. The hotel is right off the freeway and just a ten minute flat walk to the stadium...excellent location! We had talked with Doug on the phone and he was most friendly and helpful. When we arrived Jeri welcomed us and checked us in...like Doug, most friendly and helpful and also informed us they had upgraded us to a better room. We had a sitting area, king size comfortable bed, and a micro and refrigerator. The room was very clean and plenty of towels and the like. This is a new hotel or updated for sure...and there is a Denny's right next to it and they give hotel patrons and 10% discount. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Doug and Jeri!!!

Dirty, neglected rooms with trailer park quality staff. I have stayed here a few times now, each time hoping that it had improved at least a little. Much to my disappointment, it had not. The room was dirty with leaves and dead bugs on the floor, the AC unit was obnoxiously noisy, the TV remote didn't work, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. Obviously a cleaning staff that prides themselves on doing less than the bare minimum..

"Concert trip"

I have stayed at this hotel plenty of other times but I have never encountered the lack of customer service like this. I can only suggest to people that if they are planning to enjoy your trip and stay out a little late that they not stay at this hotel. I was out late at concert and did not get back until late and since the only entrance that is open is on Scottsdale road I was not able to get in to the hotel. When I talked to the front desk manager about my experience, Doug, he told me that it was my fault for getting back late. I had never experienced this lack of customer service before.

During the time you were with us(Saturday 9/9/2017) ASU was hosting Texas A & M for a College Football game, since we are conveniently located to ASU Stadium(less than 1 mile) we do see an influx of traffic and some road closures but nothing that hinders our Guests from entering or exiting the Hotel(during Football games), guests might be stuck in some major traffic but the City of Tempe has assured us and Denny's that they will always allow people to enter and exit the Hotel. I will make sure to bring this up to our local City rep for review so that this doesn't happen moving forward. As a valued guest that has been staying here for many years I don't want to see you go, I want to make amends in anyway I can so that we can continue to welcome you back......If I could carve out an additional entrance/exit I will would happily do so but the challenge we face is major construction taking place all around us.....Tempe is growing and the City needs a plan to handle the additional 1000 units of living space being built next door. "Great Room, not so great hallways and pool"

This Best Western has done a great job updating its rooms. Everything was clean and up to date. However, the hallways and the exercise/pool areas leave a lot to be desired. The carpeting in the hallways were dark, stained, and smelled. Since this was Phoenix and too hot to use the outdoor pool, I wanted to use the indoor pool but it was roped off . The exercise room was small. The breakfast was typical for this type of hotel, but was kept well stocked. Overall a good place for a business trip stay.

I have stayed at this Best Western about a dozen times over the past four years. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. The rooms have been very recently renovated with beautiful hard flooring and lovely linens and furniture. The breakfast room is comfortable with a wide variety of standard food items. Highly recommend!

the hotel was good, the challenge is the location with regard to the traffic. Don't even try to make a left turn, any where in that area. The Denny's next door was good, turns out the food and service was good at the time I went in.

We stayed here for 3 days on a personal visit to Tempe. Location is good. Breakfast was same every morning ! The only thing that changed was flavor of yogurt once. Absolutely nothing was fresh. Also, breakfast lady would stop refill at 8.40 AM. There is no laundry facility here . So cannot stay here more than a day. Front desk staff was courteous. But looks like there is a management problem here. We had 2 queen beds. One was very uncomfortable. Overall , i would not recommend this hotel for more than a day here.

the hotel is in a very centralized location but the entrance and exit is only one way. there was a musty odor which never went away. when we mentioned the odor, the front desk clerk said she doesn't smell it and that the entire area is smelly.

"Limited Airport Shuttle"

Hotel offers a park and fly set up but is now charging for the previously free shuttle. They have also severely limited the shuttle hours (used to run 24) and if you are outside the time frames you must pay for a cab. They seem to be trying to catch up with the airlines and cell carriers on minimizing good service and gouging customers.

Dear jeffr775, I wanted to clarify a few things in regards to our Sleep and Fly package, as I mentioned to you in an earlier email, as of April 2017 our shuttle service is available from 6 AM - 11 PM Mon - Sun, there is no charge for the van to or from the airport during our shuttle hours, however if you elect to request a shuttle outside of our hours the shuttle will not be available, therefor you will be on your own for a ride. Our sleep and fly package is a valued package, you are allowed to leave your car here for up to 21 days(FREE, Airport charges $8.99 per day), a Guest room for the night, Full Hot Breakfast and our shuttle service to and from the Airport during normal business hours.

Front desk agent at check in was rude, made comments about my weight, said it was ok if I wanted to sneak someone in, with a wink, room was nosiey, freeway noise, and a cricket in the AC. Just wasn't a great deal, it was a last resort since Hilton wasn't doing any check ins.

Dont get me wrong the staff are pretty good people, but the hotel itself is not good unless its last minute. The WiFi was TERRIBLE and I stayed on the first floor, the hallway and room gave off a smell of comfort and I believe a rat was in my room (only seen the droppings)

This hotel was recommended through Facebook by my niece. I called and my call was promptly answered. Making the reservation was quick and efficient. Location of hotel was a definite plus. We arrived at 11pm and check in was speedily processed. My only gripe is the accessibility to the hotel. We missed the entrance and had to come back through to turn and drive through Denny's parking area to get to the hotel registration office.

Not sure about the reason for the plastic runners in the hallway on the 2nd floor, but I found the hotel to be clean & comfortable overall, and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I don't typically give reviews, however the staff at Best Western Tempe were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. I prefer a more firm mattress, but the pillows were great and the room was kept at the perfect temperature.

I was in Phoenix for a convention and needed a decent, clean and economical room. The Best Western Inn of Tempe was perfect. It is close to downtown Phoenix as well as Sky Harbor Airport. There are eating places nearby as well as a decent breakfast Buffett. If you want a 5 star hotel, you can pay 5 times the rate I paid for this room through Hotels.com. I choose not to do that. The bed and bathroom are just as effective as those 5 star hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel for travelers on a budget or those simply Interested in spending their money on more important things.

We were in town for a convention and this this the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel. Conveniently located off the 202 hwy in Tempe. They have newly redesigned the bedrooms. The showers now have no tubs and the toilets sit really low and they are both in the same small room. There are also no microwaves in the rooms you have to walk to the breakfast room to use the hotel's. There are no rack on which to set your suitcases and the hotel has none available. It has a great restaurant next door and a great free full hot breakfast and the staff are friendly and helpful, the beds are comfortable, but the overall amenities in the rooms are below standard for us.

The rooms we rent are extra safe, finding out using the extra deadbolt on the door keeps your card key from getting you in the room! The staff done all they could to help but Please learn from my experience and don't use the extra deadbolt on the door if all the guest in the room are not in it. I have to say the hotel is very comfortable to hang around when you can't get into your room! Breakfast is Awesome too.

I stayed here for my daughter's ASU orientation. It was very nice and inexpensive. It is close to the school and some highways. I used the hot tub which was nice and the breakfast was good. The staff was friendly, too.

Clerk was not very helpful, he took him 30 minutes to find my reservation did want to accept my confirmation number and blamed me for taking long to find my reservation. So I will not recommend this hotel.

Right off the freeway (actually, rooms at the back are a little noisy. If you're a light sleeper, ask for a room on the front side). Very close to ASU, there's a Denny's next door and several places across the street including Starbucks and In & Out. Breakfast had a nice variety. We stayed 2 different times and Jeri checked us in both times. A special thank you to her - the 2nd time we asked for a room on the front side and she very nicely found one for us. She was very welcoming both times.

Excellent service, friendly staff and shuttle convenient from Sky Harbor Tempe/Phoenix airport. The hotel was having some temporary issues with the water pressure and hot water that night for showering and as I was not able to shower, the front desk comped my room. I was very pleasantly pleased with his response to my complaint, as I was only able to "sponge bath" with cold water. The shuttle driver was efficient, friendly and a very safe driver. This hotel is responsive to the guest's needs and I definitely will return. to this Best Western. Also the Denny's next to the property was very good. The steak was cooked to specifications and I even complimented the chef on the way out.

It was better than sleeping in a tent. Bed springs were shot - forced you to roll towards the middle of the bed. Bad odor on our floor and room wasn't much better. Tiny bathroom. Staff was nice. Swimming pools are very small - why bother? Elevator surround at ground floor was very dirty and had cobwebs you could see through the glass on the elevator. Our 3rd floor AC unit (loud) also was directly above an outside smoker's area - reeked at times.

The breakfast was great! Eat indoors or outside by the pool. Four small pools, some inside. Relaxing and fun for the youngster (4 years). Room was OK, can't complain except we didn't have a tv remote. Oh well, didn't really want tv anyway. Location is OK, there's a drive thru Starbucks AND liquor store right across the street!

We hosted the guests for our wedding and held our rehearsal dinner at Best Western Inn of Tempe. The price was very good, rooms were clean and comfortable, and the continental breakfast was tasty. Supervisors Jared and Doug went out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly and that our guests felt welcomed. I'd fully recommend it to anyone looking for comfortable accommodations on a budget.

They have just remodeled, and I didn't know you could screw up this badly. Beds, horrible... Staff, rude and unkept. Noise was ridiculous!! Pipes hanging out of the walls. Uneven everything!!! Just an absolute let down after great everything for 20 years. Truth be told it started going down hill when Best Western took it over... It started with the staff, and now you can not even sleep in the beds.

This place was very accommodating and clean. The guy driving the shuttle was always so willing to drive the customers to grab food or elsewhere. This hotel is perfect for exploring anywhere in Phoenix and near campus. There's a lot of good food places nearby as well. We enjoyed our stay here!

I had a restful and thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Best Western Inn of Tempe in March. There were three of us in the room and we were attending a dragon boat camp and regatta on Tempe Town Lake. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioner worked really well. It was a mere 7 minute walk to the lake, mostly on a pedestrian and bike path. I had some email communications with the director of sales, Jared Folsom, before my arrival and he was extremely helpful with information about the free hotel shuttle from the airport, making sure my roommates would have no problem checking in the day before I arrived even though the room was booked on my credit card, and making an adjustment on the room rate to reflect a regatta discount. When I met him at the hotel, he was a most welcoming host and always friendly when we saw him during our stay. The breakfasts that were included in the room rate had a huge selection that pretty well included everything that one would want to eat at breakfast. Even on the very busy weekends, the food was always replenished promptly. We were also very pleased with the shuttle service which, for a very reasonable fee, would take us to and pick us up from restaurants, the grocery store and the Botanical Gardens and anywhere else within 3 miles of the hotel. If we were in the mood to walk, it was a very pleasant 20 minute walk to Tempe town along the pedestrian path. We also liked that they had complimentary coffee and ice water (with lemon or lime) in the lobby every day and freshly baked cookies every afternoon. We even used the fitness room which is small but has good quality equipment. We will definitely stay at this hotel when we return to Tempe.

Friendly and helpful staff. Staff immediately changed our room to one w a bath tub even though we forgot to request for one. Moreover, it's during their peak period so across the board, rates were higher even in other hotels around the area.

Was a nice surprise. Hotel was much better than I had expected. Inside is a lot nicer and more modern than what the exterior looks like. Wish I would have had more time so I could have tried out the hot tubs.

Small hotel tucked behind Denny's and right next to freeway offramp. Need to be careful leaving parking lot as lots of very fast cars. Room just ok. Relatively large rooms. Fixtures showing age. Cleanliness seemed ok. We had pet room so hard floor. Noisy. AC old and noisy and could hear cars as sped by. Liked breakfast though but started late at 0700.

I stayed here for the Ironman Arizona and this is a great choice. Dog friendly even though I did not bring a dog with dog treats at the front desk. On race morning they had a breakfast at 4:30 am which was awesome. Excellent location for the race. Spa was open late for soothing your aching legs after the race.

We were pleasantly greeted upon arrival. Our room was large and comfortable. We found the location very handy to get around the Phoenix area. We went in all directions from the hotel. The full breakfast is convenient and there is something for every taste. Try Gus's Pizza down the road-excellent! We went to the Safeway and found they fill growlers with microbrew beer!!! Very fun! We would return to this Best Western and recommend it for business or pleasure travel.

Stayed for 5 days last week to train for Arizona Ironman 2016, value for money and great stay. All staff at the front desk were excellent especially Doug and Rachel and shuttle driver Bryan and Tony. Complimentary Shuttle from and to airport was a bonus. The lobby always had refreshing ice cold lemon water, cookies and coffee and was appreciated after a long training day! The genuine friendliness and interest in the guest was a big difference maker to the stay.

Rating 3.5 actually. This is my 4th time staying here. I find it ideal when going to the Marquee for a show. This time had a couple of hiccups so I have to knock it down a bit. The shuttle took quite a long time to pick me up from the airport. It was beautiful weather so not the worst thing in the world but I was tired and wanted a bed. Later when it was time for the show, you can generally take the shuttle to the venue for like $5 but the shuttle wasn't available for some reason. The front desk said she would reimburse me for an uber so I planned to do that. But I didn't see her when I returned or when I checked out next day so I never got to square that with her. Minor I know. The 3rd glitch was that they didn't have any bottles of water at the hotel. I think, even if you don't have a restaurant every hotel should, at least a minimum have a machine or water available to purchase at the front desk. They can buy a case at Costco for $5 and sell them a buck each and make a profit. Some people are dying of thirst people!! They did have a water jug in the lobby which of course out of desperation I took two small cups to my room. Silly! Otherwise, the hotel itself as far as room and bathroom is very nice. No problems there. One thing to point out for those going to Marquee. I was one of the last to leave because I have friends that were playing that night. For some reason I couldn't get Uber to connect. I didn't know what to do really. I just sat on a curb and one of the security guards came over to see if I was ok. He ended up dropping me off at the hotel. Otherwise could have been a problem.

The hotel was set back behind a Denny's restaurant, which made it a little hard to find. Arrangements for a transfer to the airport were easy and the driver was early, which is always a plus.

Great option for airplane travel in the Phoenix area. We use this hotel whenever we fly from Phoenix. As we live in Prescott Arizona, which is an hour and a half minimum drive from the Phoenix airport. We don't want to leave home in the dark to catch an early plane.

Wonderful BW. Easy walking distance to ASU. If you want to attend an event at ASU, this in the place to stay. Beautiful pool/spa area to relax in and an excellent breakfast in the morning. The hotel also offered an airport shuttle so one can attend an event at ASU without having to rent a car. I will definitely stay at BW again.

The front desk staff at the Best Western Inn of Tempe were the best I've ever dealt with during my 41 years of business travel. Helpful to a fault, they went above and beyond what I would expect. I was truly surprised by their friendliness and helpfulness during our stay. No pressure on a late check out and provided a bag breakfast when we had to be at an early event. I would stay there again anytime I'm in the area.

I stayed 2 nights to recover from a very long haul flight from Australia before moving on. What I liked: -really comfortable bed -spacious room (darker than photo shows though) -free and prompt airport shuttle - courtesy of staff What I didn't like: - my room was at the back, by the freeway and was very noisy, even with earplugs. Maybe front rooms are quieter -air con was too loud to have on when resting - breakfast was extensive but I personally found a lot of it artificial and over-sweet - it's a half hour walk from Mill Ave. Okay but a bit far at night or when hot. The shuttle is $5 regardless of number of people...great value for 4, not so good for a solo traveller. There are probably not too many places in the area that offer as good value, and those in downtown would have planes quite low over them, so this place is a reasonable choice, but.....

Looking for a place to sleep before catching an early flight we spent the night at The Best Western Inn of Tempe. The girl at the desk was sweet and friendly and made reservations for us to catch the 4AM airport shuttle. We felt very comfortable and relieved to leave our suitcases with her at the front desk. The room was very clean and comfortable and Rachel, the morning desk clerk, was especially helpful to my mother when she later had to retrieve something we had left in the room. Thank-you for making a difficult trip easier!

Let me start by saying Bryan, the shuttle driver, and Rachel at the front desk, were terrific. The main problem with this location is the General Manager, Michael Luna. First, I arrived at 8:30pm to find out my reservation for a king bed had been changed by him and I was not informed. (I recently had surgery and need the extra room to set up to sleep). Then, while waiting for the shuttle he told The driver (who informed him that there were 2 of us waiting to get to airport) to move a bunch of chairs into a UHAUL. We waited patiently and then, when we thought we were ready, suddenly there were more chairs. I complained and they let the driver take us. Since when do customers wait while drivers move furniture?! I've stayed in hotels over 50 nights this year - clearly this will be the last time here due to Mr Luna's lack of respect to customers!

As I was doing my yoga I looked under the bed. Plastic water bottles and just general trash. Front desk person ell we're not willing to assist customers with anything at all. Wanted to hurry to back room to watch tv. Computers in business center didn't work at all. Got this flippant reply.,"third times a charm" waited an hour for shuttle pick up. Worst sleep ever.

Reasonably located to facilities. We attended a wedding reception in one of the rooms here. Our room included a sofa. Sofa was ok, not too comfortable tho. Room was clean as was the bathroom. Full amenities, iron.. Pool and exercise which we didn't use. Nice surroundings, some flowers and greenery. A restaurant and bar. Although with the bar be a bit careful. I started chatting with a man at the bar as I ordered a drink. Continued talking as we had quite a bit in common ( or so I thought). He ordered a drink and finished his before I finished mine. Then I returned to the table of friends. When It came time to pay I paid without thinking. After we left the hotel I looked at the bill and realized that I had paid for the drink from the stranger I was talking to. The bartender said nothing about me having to pay for this stranger. Hence forth i am going to be more careful and check the bill before leaving.

My daughter and I loved our stay at this hotel. Close to Sun Devil Stadium where we went to see my Texas Tech Red Raiders play ASU (we lost however). We arrived at Phoenix Airport and I called the hotel as soon as we got off the plane. Rachel answered the phone and was very pleasant and told us exactly where to go to catch the hotel shuttle van. The shuttle van arrived very quickly. Bryan was our shuttle driver and he was great. Very nice guy, good driver and very helpful. We checked in early on Saturday, 9/10 and they had our room ready for us as early as 12 noon which was very welcoming. Rachel was the front desk person and she was very very helpful, friendly. The room was very clean, very good A/C which is a must and had a fridge. Cable channels are not as many as I had hoped but we did not come to watch a lot of tv anyhow. A bit later Rachel arranged the shuttle van again for us to go eat a really good lunch. Bryan again was our driver and he took us to a shopping mall where we had lunch at the Hungry Lion. Very great food, drink and atmosphere. Bryan even came and picked us up when we were done and stopped at a convenience store so we could go in and buy some adult beverages and water for our hotel fridge. Bryan was super nice and friendly. Later on Doug was working the front desk and he also very very professional, helpful and friendly. He arranged the shuttle van for our trip over to Sun Devil stadium for the night game. That driver was Gary. Very nice guy, friendly, helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Kudos to Rachel, Doug, Bryan, Gary and Steve. They really made this hotel stay so nice. Keep up the great work and we will stay here again if we Return to the area.

The overall experience was wonderful, the rooms were very nice . I loved the outdoor patio where I was able to enjoy my cigar and a ice cold beverage in the evenings. We love the hotel; always clean and comfy feel to the rooms and hotel itself. Free parking, breakfast and area shuttle. We like to walk over the river to campus but if it's 117 we can take the shuttle! Rates are always around $100 which is reasonable if you take freebies into account. Plus they are always dependable and respectful.

The staff is great - very pleasant and helpful. I like the convenient location, close to ASU where our daughter is. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the breakfast is good. Probably the best Best Western my wife and I have stayed at. Comfortable, clean, quiet rooms and great service. It's very convenient, as well as being right off a major highway exit and close to the airport. Starbucks is within a block. They have a free airport shuttle for those who didn't book their room through a third party. And for those travelers needing a place to leave their cars, they offer free parking for trips lasting up to 3 weeks.

Having been stranded at the Phoenix airport when my flight was cancelled, I had excellent help from the staff at a nearby Best Western Inn, only 3 miles from the airport. Rachel was especially helpful, providing me with essential toiletries that I did not have with me, and information about the hotel. The hotel is nicely arranged, the room was very comfortable and clean, and the lobby had delicious ice cold water and cookies. I was also grateful for the shuttle service from the airport at 1:30 in the morning. The driver, Robert, was helpful with information about the Tempe area and the hotel. The hotel was for me a wonderful respite in the middle of an otherwise challenging trip.

The staff at this particular location are amazing. I have been frequenting Best Westerns all over the Western United States for many years now and while all of them have been great, this particular location stands out on its own. Once there was a problem associated with construction that was taking place and the lovely young lady at the front desk rolled up her sleeves in the absence of the maintenance person; handled the leak and immediately moved us to another room.

When making reservations the hotel they warn they are undergoing renovations. They disguise this well and it never presented a problem. The hotel is outstanding in customer service. The breakfast room has a great selection, well presented and well kept. House keeping is outstanding. There is a Denny's restaurant on the property and better than most. The hotel is next to the freeway but noise was not a problem.

Totally impressed with the customer service I received from Rachel when booking. The Inn at Tempe has been, and continues to be an excellent choice for us when plane travel takes us to Phoenix. It is conveniently located off the 202 freeway close to the airport. The amenities are quite good. The service is excellent, The closeness to other amenities is wonderful. We plan to stay here as it meets our needs when flying from Phoenix.

The location was great for what we were in Tempe for. The price was fantastic compared to others in the close area for the Marquee Theatre. The room was as expected, clean and a good size for two. The only thing I would fault but it would be nit picking was the a/c being noisy but then I'm not used to in room a/c's. Was able to get a good sleep despite that and the beds were comfortable. Would stay there again if I was to visit Tempe again.

I was not told that the pool and the fitness center were being remodeled and were not available during the hottest days of the year. I booked this hotel at Bestwestern.com and saw no mention about the pool being under construction. I also received an email from the hotel welcoming my up coming stay and still no mention about the pool. You let me down this time Bestwestern and as a Platinum Rewards member I am very disappointed. I see the this information is now listed at Bestwestern.com hidden under the more arrow. I do not believe it was there when I booked this room a month earlier.

Since the warm welcome we received on our first visit in 1998, we always choose the Inn of Tempe for our first night in the USA after flying into Phoenix, and have never been disappointed. Service has always been efficient and cheerful and the high standards of cleanliness have been maintained. Beds are very comfortable - just what you need after a 10 hour flight with jetlag.

This is one of the dependably average best Western properties. Despite being right off the freeway, the room was quiet. The room was clean and the Wi-Fi was more than adequate. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was pretty typical, although the fruit choices were limited. The pool and spa are still out of order. The hotel is convenient to downtown Tempe and several restaurants and entertainment venues.

Fantastic hotel. The staff was very helpful. Room was quite and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was standard BW options however, you have the option of sitting in an out door patio near the pool. Business center is nice and big. They had board games and books to borrow which was nice. Will stay here again for sure. If there was a "con" it would be the small parking lot, although we did not have an issue finding a spot.

It had a few problems, but overall it was a nice stay. Had traveled all day and was ready to use their pool and spa. Problem was even though it was a Monday when we checked in, it appears no one had checked either of these facilities. The hot tub, was more a lukewarm tub, and the lap pool (no swimming pool here), that was suppose to be 3 ft deep was more like 1 1/2 feet deep (and there for not usable. The room was nice, small bathroom, and small TV 32", but did get a free cold water and bag of popcorn at checkin. The breakfast was good, lots of choices, and the staff was very friendly. For the price it was adequate for our stay (we weren't in the room except to watch one prime time TV program, and to shower in the morning). It was a good central location, for our visit to IKEA, and the Arizona Mills outlet mall. Would be fantastic if we had business at ASU. Right across the Salt River for it. .

I stay at this hotel every time I visit my children at ASU. It is a bit of a walk to campus, but the level of personalized service and the comfortable, quiet rooms make it worth the effort. The breakfast staff is very attentive and nice. I appreciate the efforts made to make my stay enjoyable.

Stayed at this location which was close to the Wells Fargo Arena where my son was graduating for Arizona State University. Harry who was working at the front desk was so friendly and helpful, he made us feel like we were staying at a 5 star resort. Our courtesy van driver drove us to the arena and picked us up after graduation and then dropped us off at a restaurant. Everyone was very helpful and catered to us. Thank you! The Campbell's

The location can't be beat! Loved almost everything. But, the pillows were lumpy. They could use an upgrade. And, there was no privacy in our room to dress or for me to put on makeup/blow dry my hair. My husband couldn't hear the tv over the hair blower and he could see every move I made because there is no pocket door to pull across to provide privacy in the room with the king bed. Having said that, the hotel was immaculate as was our room and the breakfast room. The hotel website mentions that they serve hash browns as one of the items available for breakfast. We did miss not having the hash browns as we don't eat meat.

I was so grateful and blown away by the warmth and caring way RC at the front desk helped me through one of the worst travel experiences I've ever had. Stranded at the airport unable to fly out, I was immediately welcomed here at the Best Western inn of Tempe. this was a great place, everyone very nice, bed was amazing ! i slept like i was in a cloud. depending on where your room is it can be a little noisy with highway exit being outside your window- and airline traffic overhead but if you have the AC on that minimizes the outside noise. Breakfast was better than some chain bkft places !! highly recommend!! Very satisfied

I returned to Phoenix area for meetings and selected BW in Tempe this time as it was closer to my meetings. It had all the services I needed and was upgraded to a larger room. The Internet was working good and the bed was perfect and had a good night's rest. I will return to this hotel as it was clean and they are planning on making it better.

This is a good reasonable place to stay if you have to visit ASU. It is right off the freeway and within walking distance to Sun Devil Stadium. We've stayed there many times since our son was going to college there. The rooms are clean and quiet, even though your right by the freeway exit. If you get a room on the first floor near the front desk, you may smell the pool.

found a 3-4" live cockroach by the sink. advised night clerk who was not proactive in dealing with it other than to ask if we wanted another room. advised morning staff who also appeared non-pulsed with the incident. asked for reduction in bill, refused, offered points for future stays . . . rest of experience was okay.

The front desk to my airport shuttle driver Gary on my return was TOP notch service. I had a slight issue with an AM driver to airport so check to be clear of your departure, but my grab and go was ready and even offered something extra byt he Am desk man who's name I have forgotten ( sorry ) also great.,if open, SO missed breakfast due to shuttle, but room fabulous, clean, quick check out. RC was the most attentive and get the "solution" to any situation type employee. HE was CS to the best. Both AM and PM front desk, in my opinion, well staffed and friendly and just knowledgeable. Cannot go on enough . Get Gray to drive you his humor at late night arrival was so welcomed. RECOMMEND, YES...

I was pleasantly surprised when I was informed at check in there was a shuttle service. Shuttle service was definitely a plus. I feel that the overall staff customer service was really good. I would say that all drivers of shuttle were always on time, and extremely nice, especially Gary, who always had some interesting stories to tell. I went for a college visit with daughter, and for try outs of dance team for ASU; my daughter after all didn't make the dance team, and Cecil was very sympathetic, and had good words of comfort for my daughter. Very intelligent man. The only things I feel need to perhaps work on there are getting the room updated and adding some better cable channels such as HBO, Cinemax, etc., even if there is a charge for watching movies. Room were clean; however feel that for price it should be a little more modern forward. Also breakfast amenity was another plus. I'll stay there again - It had the things I look for when staying away from home, cleanliness, friendliness, and useful amenities.

Shuttle available for airport and local locations such as Desert Botanical Garden, Papago Park, etc. Free breakfast had a good variety of items : hot and cold. Bed and room was comfortable. Ground floor room didn't have any of the potential, adjacent highway noise.

The room was ok, clean, nothing fancy but functional. Breakfast serviceable, not great. The reason for the 1 star is simple--the reservation made through Trip Advisor was at a certain rate (Best Value). The morning of the reservation I happened to see the rate on Best Western's site had dropped by almost $20, so I called to see if I could get the reduced rate applied, and they agreed, but said I needed to call Trip Advisor to do this. Trip Advisor agreed, but said it could only be done by Best Western, so I called them again-they agreed but said it could only be adjusted by Trip Advisor. You get the picture. After 5 phone calls back and forth the upshot was that everyone agreed I could get the better rate, but each party insisted only the other party could do it. Result: I never got the better rate, and no one owned up to the responsibility. In a service/hospitality industry one thing that is unacceptable is for everyone to say it is someone else's responsibility to fix a problem, leaving the problem unsolved. I won't book through Trip Advisor again, nor will I stay in a Best Western, on principle. As an added aggravation-- the hotel couldn't find my reservation at all the morning I called--turned out someone misspelled my name at the hotel despite having the correct spelling on my initial confirmation and email (they finally found it under another spelling).

I was traveling alone for work, but noticed that this hotel would be great for families. It had a little group area with a TV computers and a printer right by the elevator on the 3rd floor. Not sure if they have this on all the floors. It looked like it had a couple of hot tubs and a small lap pool as well. The room was clean and modern. I did not notice any noise or experience any issues. I only wish they shared their parking lot with a better restaurant. There is a Denny's in the lot with them, which is OK, but leaves some to be desired. Obviously, that is not up to the hotel, but that is the nearest spot to grab a bite. Wifi worked well. Will definitely stay here again.

Like i said initially in the filling of survey. Everything was cool except that you want to have a genuinely happy staff attend to you. In fact, most hotels i have used while in South Africa and Spain had exceptionally happy staff. That kind of make you really relax during your stay.

Plusses: a good price for a basic room in a slightly saturated but marginally overpriced market. A quiet room and comfortable bed for a night. Breakfast room is stocked with very nice meal to start the day (lots of good and nutritious options if you have the will) and the hostess for the breakfast was the highlight of the stay with her smile and helpful demeanor. Parking is easy; access to main thoroughfares are flawless, and the airport is just a hop away with trustworthy shuttle service and good driving. Negatives: a little gloomy with threadbare public areas. Room temperature was hard to control with a noisy and defective AC; and the doors let too much light in from the hall, disturbing sleep. But, again, if its a one night or two night thing with busy days out there, this might meet your needs.

We visited the Phoenix area to take in some Spring Training Baseball games...one at the Cub's Sloan Park and one at the Angel's Tempe Diablo Stadium. This hotel was conveniently located to both. The hotel was pleasant yet our room (Room 303) was a bit noisy due to the airport flight path on the south side of the building.

I was very thankful the front desk was able to change my stay dates. When I booked the stay online, I checked the correct dates but when I got a confirmation, it said the wrong dates. very confusing so I called the hotel and the manager was able to change the dates for me so we were able to stay without being charged again. I was very pleased and will stay at best western hotels in the future.

We stayed here after a late flight before going to Tucson and for that it was fine. It is not far from the airport and has a Dennys next door. I did not hear any noise although we were on a very busy road.There is nothing luxurious about this hotel-certainly not worth the $100+ a night I paid. The room was average and the pool/ spa area was worn looking. The grounds were little more than a parking lot. The breakfast was comparable to any Best Western except they posted an odd sign suggesting that they did not "have" to provide a hot breakfast .Really with all the other hotels close to the airport I would chose another.

We stayed here while visiting and could not have been happier-all the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Especially liked the van being available for local short trips! Airport pick up is good-breakfasts were above average in selection and quality and we utilized the van a number of times to get to downtown Phoenix via the light rail. Great time!

I chose this hotel because I like Best Westerns due to their pet friendly policy. One of the lowest rates in Tempe area for a decent hotel. Very basic, looks like a renovated dormitory but room was clean and it was fine for our needs. Pool is just a lap pool - they should advertise it as such.

Motel was good, breakfast was good. Had a nice spa area. Front desk clerk was very nice. In-N-out was in walking distance. The freeway is right next to it, so that was pretty nice to be able to jump on it and go. Overall hotel was nice to stay at, we'll be coming back to stay.

Really enjoyed the closeness of the hotel to the Amazing Comic Con that was being held that weekend at the Phoenix Convention Center. Took about 10 minutes to drive and park. Love the closeness of the restaurants to the hotel. In-n-Out and Drive thru Starbucks is just across the street, has a lighted crosswalk. Dennys is next door. Love the hot tubs, fitness center. Breakfast was great, eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, mini waffles, fresh cut fruit, etc. Have added this Best Western to our list of going back and staying at hotels. Highly recommend to others.

I picked Tempe over another BW hotel by the airport hoping that there was less noise. This hotel gave me the quiet and rest that I needed after a long journey. Although the room that I stay in was "average" the comfort and quiet plus the amenities like the breakfast lounge, length pool, spa and overall quality pushed the rating to very good. Great place and location for a family vacation or break.

We stayed 5 nights. We reserved for two nights ahead of time in order to check out the place. We extended and stayed for the rest of our trip. Beds are comfy. Breakfast was good and different variety. Loved the eggs, sausage and bacon. We stayed on the parking lot side because I'm a light sleeper and read reviews to stay away from the highway side. No issues with noise. We heard the planes but it wasn't a big deal (we were on top floor as well). All staff were really friendly and pleasant. Shuttle service not so good. Late flight and ended waiting over an hour for the shuttle when told it would take 5 minutes. Our room could use a little help in the shower area (grout cracking out) but it was pretty clean. Pool area needs a lot of help. If wanting a pool, find another place. Loved that they have a walking path nearby. Felt pretty safe. Location was convenient for us. Could only turn right out of the parking lot, but only had to go less than a block to make a u-turn at the lights, so wasn't a big deal. Couldn't turn left into the parking lot either, so had to go down a couple blocks to make a u-turn as well. It didn't cause a problem for us though. All in all we'd stay here again.

I have been staying twice a year for business at this particular hotel for fifteen years and it is one of my favorites in terms of price, comfort, eye appeal, cleanliness and staff. The meeting rooms are very nice and have windows which is a big plus for me. Depending on your needs, the location is great as well. Although next to a freeway, noise is not an issue. It is conveniently located to get to the airport, ASU, Mill Ave., shopping in Scottsdale within minutes by car. I would highly recommend this hotel!

I'm in town for two nights on business and thought I'd save the company some money with this hotel, which came out to about $100 a night. TERRIBLE choice. The room smelled bad, which I can deal with. Opened the window, made some coffee, no problem, smell gone. But the last person's groceries were still in the fridge, the toilet ran, the iron was broken, only one outlet worked, the upholstered chairs were COVERED in mystery stains, two of the four light bulbs were burnt out, and the provided alarm clock wouldn't turn on. Because I could only plug my phone in in the bathroom (that's where the operational outlet was) I was worried I wouldn't wake up for my alarm, so I asked for a wake up call. It never came. My co worker stayed just down the hall from me and had a lot of the same issues (outlets not working, stains on chairs, burnt out bulbs), but her room also had fruit flies. Plus side? The bed felt clean and the air conditioner worked well enough. Really grasping at straws for good things to say.

I was in Phoenix recently, and had my wallet stolen the day I landed. I fortunately still had my passport and plenty of cash, but no credit cards. When I called the Best Western Inn of Tempe around 10pm that evening to explain what happened before heading down to check-in for the night, they refused to allow me to without a physical credit card present (even though my room was pre-paid, I had my passport to prove my identity, and I could provide a valid credit card number) They basically left me out in the cold without any options (or even suggestions on what to do), and still charged me for the night... I will never book at a Best Western again. Confirmation number: 127014678552

Although the hotel is difficult to find upon arrival as it sits behind a Denny's restaurant, it has a good location. With our rental car, we easily drove to Tempe Marketplace with several restaurants and shops within 5 minutes, to Talisesin within 20 minutes, to the art galleries in Scottsdale, and back to the airport within 15 minutes. Also the hotel shuttle for just $2.50 per person took us to the Mill St. light rail station for our trips into Phoenix to go to the convention center and the Heard Museum.

It is right next to the interstate and the off ramp. Just too much traffic noise. Would not check us in until 3PM on the dot. Room were very clean. Lobby is crowded. Have nice lounge area on other floors to gather with friends. Breakfast was the usual but hot and good. The parking lot is crowded as it is next to a Denny's. We were on the highway side and on the first floor so the traffic was just too much!

The facility has great advantages of location, close to ASU and on Scottsdale Road between Tempe and Scottsdale and close to the 202 Freeway. But that location is also its curse. Upper floor noise can be excessive and long lived because of the proximity to the 202. and access to the parking is an issue because its location on Scottsdale Road. Nice facility and good staff. Recommend staying on lower floors and bring ear plugs or be a heavy sleeper.

Very nice hotel and convenient location. The exterior signage is small, the building is set back from the street so it is a little hard to easily see it as you drive up. Once ther, it is very nice: quiet, clean, and comfortable.

This location is extremely convenient from airport and ability to access highways to Phoenix/Scottsdale, etc. The staff is what makes this an awesome place. They go an extra step to make it a personable experience. I left my phone charger in the wall and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was placed in the lost and found, picked it up the following day.

The bed was really comfortable. The lobby is good and the staff was friendly except when we checked in. The person at the desk had three parties wait while he sorted his paperwork for about 10 minutes - not a warm welcome. The room needs maintenance - peeling paint, mold on shower walls and not as clean as you would expect.

this is our second stay and an easy trip to Barrett-Jackson. Remodel seems to be complete and frankly its hard to beat their breakfast. Friendly staff and right across the street from In-N-Out Burger. Thanks guys it was great and I plan to be back in April.

We came to Tempe to run in a Rock and Roll Marathon. The hotel provided early breakfast so we could get to the race on time with energy. They were with in close walking distance to the University as well as some great eating establishments. The design of the hotel is very inviting, offering a game room and television in the main area on the 3rd floor.

We stayed at this hotel for two days for training. But when we got there the price was different than quoted to us. Rooms are very small. The staff didnt notice us when we walked by in the morning, that same guy was working the same morning when we were checking out, he was eating with a plate full plate at the desk. And drinking coffee while giving us the paper. Good thing we change hotels...

Stayed here on our first night in town and had requested a room away from elevators and ice machines when we made the reservation. They had it all set, room 305, very quiet. Returning after a week of sightseeing around Arizona we called and requested the same room for 3 nights. Yep, it was again ready for us. Marlin, the evening front desk lady was extremely helpful in getting local information from car washes to where to eat. She answered everything we asked, even knowing how to work the sink stopper. Push down to close and push down again to open. We had never seen that before. The whole staff was very friendly and breakfast was really fine. Ebony, the one lady who worked breakfast was very friendly and would tease with us each morning. She made it fun. Would surely stay here again.

Best Western here at this site is very old. The property is right off the freeway. The rooms were big and quiet. The site offers free breakfast, but did not try. Good wifi connection. Front desk never picks up the phone. Found out the front desk is understaffed so be patient when requesting .

The place does the job. It looks like a prison from the outside though. Rooms are what you'd expect for a BW. It was clean and the bed was not bad. The breakfast was fine and had enough to offer. There was a problem with being double charged for the room that took many phone calls to fix after the stay or else I would have given it a higher rating.

I have spent many nights at this hotel over the past year and this shall be the last as I will NEVER spend another night here. I never post a negative review, but I've never experienced this level of poor service before. From inept front desk personnel to lack of cleanliness and poor maid service. My wife accompanied me on this trip and was discussed by the poor service, lack of towels, lack level of cleanliness and inability to move us to a different room due to "full" occupancy in an empty hotel. We new it was empty due to lack of cars in the parking lot to no one showing up at the breakfast.

This hotel is reasonably priced and has a nice overall appearance. There were features of the room that gave the impression of the hotel being old, such as bathroom caulking that needed repair and very squeaky beds. Otherwise it was a nice option for a brief stay at a good price.

The hotel it's self isn't bad, breakfast every morning, semi comfortable beds, fluffy pillows tiny pool and warm showers. But on the last night of our stay, my friend nearly stepped on a cockroache. We were able to rid our selfs of that atrocity, only to discover another under the sink,most likely a baby cockroach. that one got away to probably reconvene with the rest of its colony. Luckily we only have one more night, else I might of considered leaving all together.

The BW Inn of Tempe is quite close to the airport. The shuttle is complimentary. The shuttle driver was prompt and cordial. The breakfast was available early so we were able to get to the airport in plenty of time. We did not use the small lap pool.

The hotel has good decor, is well kept, and the room was clean. The bed was comfortable, but the walls are thin, and during my one-night stay, the people in the next room were conversing rather loudly which disturbed my sleep. I could have reported it, but I was just there for one night and so I did not. The breakfast was decent enough.

"Very good motel near ASU; easy freeway access"

I was in Phoenix for two nights for a business conference being held at Arizona State University. Best Western Inn of Tempe is only about 1.5 miles away. Easy on/off access to the 202 freeway. Returning to the motel from ASU was inconvenient. I couldn't make the U-turn to the motel so had to access the freeway, drive to the next exit, turn around and come back. My room was great - large and comfortable. However the bed was too soft for my preference. No restaurant or lounge on site. There is a Denny's restaurant next door that is really good. But it would be nice to have a place to have a couple drinks to unwind after a long day. The complimentary breakfast was good except some of the items weren't kept stocked -- ran out of milk, English muffins, etc. I don't like the eggs -- not only here but at all motels that use these type of eggs. Overall, I would come back. The staff was great, rooms are clean, and surprisingly quiet for being so close to the freeway.

Had an excellent visit to Tempe for Ironman. Wonderful amenities, about a mile and a half from Ironman Village, right on the run/bike course. Lovely staff. Amazing breakfasts and the hotel had a continental style breakfast served for athletes at 5am because the race starts so early. I would definitely stay here again for future visits. In 'n Out is right across the street.

Bed was the most comfortable of my trip, having stayed at five different hotels. Although we were on the side next to the expressway, the room was quiet. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Always find the quality of Best Western hotels to be very good and superior to most other midline hotels serving this market segment.

We stayed on the top floor hoping for quiet and except for some road noise, which is out of the hotel's control, it was quiet. The bed was a little soft, but we prefer something firm, so that is something we encounter during probably half our hotel stays. The pool and hot tubs were very nice and attractive to look at also.

I stayed here a couple of nights recently. It seemed clean overall (see note below, though), and the staff was very friendly. The second day the breakfast was good. I had a room that backed up to the highway, next to the spa area. The room reeked of chlorine from the spa, and I could hear the freeway all night. There is no desk, just a table and two rickety chairs, with no light above the desk. I asked the front desk if there was a lamp somewhere on premises, and the clerk said she would ask maintenance, but I never heard anything back. I eventually pulled the table over to the other side of the room so I could see to work. The vanity light had only one working fluorescent tube, so I looked ghoulish in the mirror. Worse, when I got out of the shower, I could smell old cigarette smoke in the towel -- though a sign said the room had been "sanitized for nonsmoking guests," clearly someone had smoked in the room and the towels not changed. Basically it kind of felt like a prison. I guess it was worth the cheap rate, kind of, and if you stayed upstairs it might be nice enough.

Only stayed here overnight after a transatlantic flight and before setting off on a charity challenge. The beds were comfortable and the showers good. The included buffet breakfast was plentiful. The hotel has a small spa area but I didn't get to use it.

"3rd party nightmare"

I booked a room through Expedia. I called ahead to confirm with manager I could leave my car for a week. Manager said ok but there was $25 charge. Also $2.50 per person shuttle fee. On arrival desk clerk said I could not leave car because I booked it through a 3rd party. When I explained I called the manager first to confirm, she said I should have booked room through best western, but since it was a 3rd party, I was not allowed to leave my car. I politely told her I had called ahead and confirmed with the manager that I could leave the car for a $25 fee. 3 times she refused me the option to leave the car stating that because I used a 3rd party booking I could not leave the car. Finally she said I could leave the car but there would be a $25 charge. Then she told me the shuttle was $5 per person, (even though there was a sign stating shuttle fee $2.50 behind the front desk). I repeated to her the manager told me there was fee of $2.50 for the shuttle. She started again to lecture me about 3rd party booking. I told her I didn't want to hear anything more about 3rd party booking, I just wanted to pay what I was quoted. She then told me she was calling expedia, and canceling my reservation and I couldn't stay there. I have used this hotel probably 8-10 times in the past, but never again. I am not sure the hotel will care about this review, since tripadvisor is also a 3rd party.

When it comes to the third-party booking, that package is not available through their website as it is only through our Best Western site or directly through our property. Also, with the third-party sites it is in fact a $5 airport fee per person. The sign you saw stating the $2.50 is for guests who choose to travel within a 3 mile radius of our property for dining or shopping purposes. super soft bed; poor lighting could not even read in bed not do any work at desk, not light by easy chair, not remote for TV. Filthy poor cooled workout room. no swimming pool... however there were two 36 inch by 20 feet pools but what they were for, I have no idea. Really think twice before staying at this hotel. I went and bought my own 100 watt bulbs the lights were so bad.

We live about 60 miles from this hotel and have driven by probably 100's of times without even noticing the facility. This is actually good as it is enough off the road that we were buffered from the traffic noise. We were going to a walk in support of individuals with Downs Syndrome starting at 7 AM, so we decided to get a place in town instead of rising very early and driving up. What a great idea!! This hotel has a small indoor pool and 2 spas. We arrived late and were told that we could use the spa after hours if we were quiet. That motivated us to not be our sometimes noisy selves. After a long relaxing soak and a swim we went up to the room which was clean and well stocked including a fridge. The beds were comfortable and the AC was cold. In the morning we were able to catch a quick breakfast. The selection was good and there was a variety of fresh fruit-none of which looked like it had come from "Goodwill". The cherry on the top was that we were allowed to use late check out which made it possible to go to the walk and activities and come back around noon pack up and get out without stressing. The staff were all very cordial and willing to help out.

We have stayed many times before. The hotel is very nice. We stayed for the first time on the 3rd floor and it was nice because there is a large living area and library with the computers and good size television. Very close to Old Town Scottsdale.

My wife and I stay here several times a year, visiting family or stay and fly when we travel. Their stay and fly program includes free shuttle to and from the airport and leave your vehicle up to 21 days. The location is just north of ASU, on the south end of Scottsdale (Near the 202 and 101 Freeways). The Inn is attached to Denny's with In-N-Out Bugger across the street and the Tempe Market Place is not far by car. Rooms are clean and comfortable, Beds are cozy with lots of pillows. The entire staff treat us like family and breakfast is more than adequate considering it's included in the price of the room. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice place to stay near Sky Harbor Airport. Rooms seem to be well insulated (rarely hear an airplane or road noise).

I had a great two-night stay mostly because of the nice people who work there. They made me feel very welcome. The breakfast was good, and I'm glad they still have a waffle iron. Many hotels have done away with them. I also love good coffee and they had fresh coffee in the lobby any time of day.

My visit was great. Rooms was reasonably priced in the area. Rooms smelled great and was very clean and neat. Staff was very nice and friendly. Ebony was great. She was a hard worker. When i asked for something even if it wasn't her job she did it. She didn't put it off on someone else like most people do. She kept everything clean as we ate. Made sure it was enough food and it never ran out. She spoke to everyone like she had know them forevery. Real friendly person. The night staff was great also. Marlen was a sweet and helpful young lady too. Everyone had wounderful smiles on their face. Their demeanor made them feel real approachable. Which is something rare in this world today.
