    « Lovely hotel »

We stayed at The Best western Beaumount Hotel in Hexham for one night we were greeted by a lovely friendly girl on reception who checked us in gave us a disc for the car or we could go to the car park below we chose to park across the road which was fine the room was nice plenty of room lovely and warm clean and comfortable breakfast was good would recommend anyone to stay there

    « If it ain't broke. »

We had a meal in the upstairs bar, which we have been doing for the last few years midweek at lunchtime,we always had soup and a toasted sandwich, the hotel has recently changed owners, the last two times there was no soup and sandwich option,so we had soup and a sausage roll with chips. Today the menus were on big heavy wooden clipboards and we had the option of soup and a sandwich,we had blt on ciabatta and goats cheese and roast peppers, the soup was butternut squash, the soup was oily, the sandwich was not tasty, the bacon was raw, sorry but as the title says,if it ain't broke etc.Plus all served on wooden paddles! Not happy.

    « Outstanding »

We've stayed at this hotel a few times now so I'm sure it speaks volumes that we keep coming back. The hotels location is brilliant, centrally located within walking distance of everything you'd need for a mini break. The hotel service is faultless, nothing's too much trouble. Excellent breakfast, it's immaculate too. We wish the new owners all the very best with their plans for the hotel. They are really lovely, friendly and nothing's too much trouble.

This Hotel/Motel is in the Main Area of Hexham, central to shopping area. It has comfortable rooms and dining area. The full breakfast is generally included in the room tariff and is of very good quality. This Hotel has function and area for wedding receptions or other events. Has a lift between floors. Has small car parking area at rear of hotel accessed via "boom gate". Through this car park you can gain access to hotel.

« 2 night stay at Beaumont Hotel, Hexham »

We stayed here recently for a couple of nights with a group who had travelled from Central Scotland to give a concert with a local choir. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious and the en suite facilities were excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly - and very hard working and the food delicious

    « Friendly and welcoming »

We stayed here the night before attending a funeral and were delighted by the comfort of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. The rooms were lovely - well equipped. We ate in the restaurant which was fine but sadly the food was luke warm although tasty. The main courses should be served with more vegetables , the servings were rather small. We will return but perhaps not have the evening meal.

« Good hotel to stay in Hexham »

We have stayed at the Best Western Beaumont in Hexham previously and found it to be a very comfortable hotel. On this trip we again stayed on 2 separate occasions. The staff are helpful and friendly and the rooms very spacious and comfortable. There is a lift which is useful. It is centrally located to the pedestrian area and over the road from the Hexham Abby and the Sele Park. The breakfast is very good with both continental and cooked on offer. Dinner is available and a bar area but we didn't eat there. There is a car park that you can access without charge. This is a great hotel to stay in the Hexham area.

    « So friendly! »

Stayed her for 2 nights for work, nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately I had a problem with the toilet seat in my room, I'm not large by any standard, it snapped in 2. I mentioned it the next morning and it was changed during that day. Fantastic service.

    « Under new management »

Whenever I visit Hexham I try a reservation here first, I am always made to feel welcome in this popular centrally homely hotel. This time during my visit I was privileged to meet the new Owner & Management Team Roger and Magda, a more pleasant couple would be difficult to find, welcome. Further I was pleased to note the new owners have retained the services of the existing staff who ensured as always the clientele had a most pleasant stay. Nothing seems to be any trouble for this well trained, rehearsed team. The location of the hotel in this busy market town could not be more central with scenic views over The Sele and abbey. A visit to the restaurant is a must where good quality food at very reasonable prices is served.

    « First class stay.. »

This is a first class stay with great hospitality. From Check-in to check-out, we hav got royal treat from the management..Kusod to the chef for the masterpiece items..Hexham is a market town and this is an ideal place to stay if one visit here.

    « Central location »

Easily accessible location with the amenities required for our group. This hotel is ideally situated for day trips without the hustle and bustle of Newcastle. The staff are very helpful and the food is good. The bedrooms are clean and tidy.

« It was 50 years since we visited this area and Hexham was a real pleasure »

My wife had never visited Hadrian's Wall and had expressed a wish to do this .We both wanted to visit our old teacher training college based in Hexham Hydro situated on the Allandale road out of town .Our well travelled elderly aunt suggested that we should base ourselves at the Beaumont Hotel as this had been her regular coffee stop when she lived in Hexham. The .Beaumont Hotel sits within view of the beautiful Hexham Abbey .Mr. and Mrs. Owen were the owners at the time of her visits and our chosen dates for our visit coincided with the first week of the arrival of the new proprietor Mr Roger Davy .Mr Davy and his experienced team provided my wife and I with four brilliant days when we were treated to excellent meals, a very clean and comfortable room and a lovely friendly service from ALL members of the staff. Initially I was a little concerned with the very busy street and parking .I really had no need to worry as the management had good systems in place to ensure that the car was safely parked. There is no doubt in our minds that this hotel is well worth a visit and the town and local villages are a treat..Corbridge is just next door and has lovely features well worth exploring .Our stay was great and hassle free. We were made to feel most welcome and the staff as a unit was attentive and fully aware of our requirements. This well established hotel will build on the good name already established . Mr. Roger Davy and his staff will raise the standards to new levels and this Best Western Hotel will go from strength to strength.

    « Excellent short stay »

From the moment we stepped into this hotel we were made to feel welcome. The service throughout our short stay was first class ... from reception to bar and restaurant staff and room service too. Ideally situated in the centre of the lovely market town of Hexham, this hotel is welcoming and well managed. The rooms were very comfortable with good facilities. Free Wifi was adequate, not always a strong signal though. Food was good and well presented. Breakfast for our group of ten cyclists was lovely and we were brilliantly served by the excellent John who worked tirelessly to cater for our needs!! Thank you John :) All in all a very pleasant experience.

    « Regular Visitor »

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel a number of times this year and have always enjoyed the experience. The staff are friendly and well trained and have a caring attitude. The food quality is good. We will use this hotel again.

« Always a pleasure to come back »

We have been here so many times I can't remember ! Excellent bar snacks as usual and breakfast cooked to order. Mr and Mrs Owen in evidence as always, Mr Owen helping with clearing away at breakfast. When the owners are hands on, not too much can go wrong. Always good to see familiar faces amongst the staff, a testimony as to the way the business runs. A lovely park across the road and the Abbey just 200 yards away make it an ideal location to explore the town. Happy memories !

« Lovely hotel very close to Abbey »

Wonderful hotel with very friendly staff. Breakfast was good - it was standard, to be honest. Surrounding town is brilliant to explore. Parking wasn't easy as the underground carpark is quite small ? however loads of free parking outside in evenings and on Sundays. Would happily return to this hotel.

    « Great stay »

Stayed again Monday evening (22 Aug) while in Northumberland. Great room, friendly staff, great breakfast. Great base for exploring area and for stepping into Cumbria and the Lakes. Will continue to stay there in future.

    « Great Stay »

Lovely Hotel and area. Rooms were very comfortable and modern. We stayed last weekend on Saturday 20th August for our friends nearby wedding. I don't often leave reviews but on this occasion I have to mention Andrew the man working in the bar on Saturday night. He was so lovely, couldn't do enough for us and still had a smile on his face at Breakfast the next morning. I have worked in Hotels for nearly 20 years and it is rare to come across someone so friendly and willing to help even at a ridiculous hour of the morning while the wedding party was still going strong. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great night and it was very much appreciated. Great customer service thanks Andrew!

    « Very helpful staff »

This hotel is at the end of Beaumont street, almost opposite the abbey. It's five minutes walk from the train station and an easy walk to the bus that takes you along Hadrian's Wall. The rooms are quiet and comfortable.

Well located in the town centre, 10 minute walk from rail station. Excellent food and great bars on the ground and first floor. Very friendly staff could not do enough for us whilst staying here. Opposite park and not far from the historic church. Would recommend and return.

    « Couldn't fault it »

We stayed for 4 nights in July while walking Hadrian's Wall and found the hotel vastly superior to many we've had on walking holidays. The rooms were clean, fresh and modern and our bathroom was superb. We were given a suite which was wonderful. The package meant we ate in the hotel - meals were great with plenty of choice. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and nothing was too much trouble. If you're going to Hexham don't stay anywhere else!

« Lovely room. Shame about breakfast. »

We recently stayed here after friends wedding. I could not fault the room although my daughter said her z-bed was very uncomfortable. Everything was very luxurious. The breakfast, however, was paltry. For the amount we paid per night I was expecting a great full English. Instead it was a tiny breakfast. Don't get me wrong, there was plenty of alternative choices to fill up on but I like a hearty breakfast in a hotel!

    « Better than just a chain »

We've stayed in a few Best Westerns and they've always been ok. This one seemed to have an edge though - the owners and staff :) Everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful even with a few tricky requests from myself AND they had a few weddings on at the same time. I needed an ice pack early in the morning as well, which I was given quickly and with a smile. I can't praise the staff enough. I recommend this happily to singles, couples and families. Oh, the breakfast is brilliant, so that's a great way to start your day.

    « Friendly and Comfortable »

An older-style hotel, we stopped on an unplanned visit on our way home from walking Hadrians Wall path. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped. The bar/lounge area was very small and not very cosy/appealling to look at. Staff were serving both reception and the bar, so we sometimes had to seek out service or wait to be noticed. However the food was quite good and the staff were friendly. The best thing about this place was the breakfast, the best we had met along our journey. Good quality local produce makes all the difference. The Northumberland sausage was delicious and the poached eggs were perfection. We probably would not use the hotel again, however we would be happy to stop for breakfast! We thought the room price was a bit high.

« Deserves more than AA 3 star! »

Where to start? Beaumont St Hexham is busy, always. A member of staff was busy outside (indicative of the experience ahead!) wiping moisture off the al fresco tables and chairs. He answered my hullooo! straightaway, pointing out the way in to the hotels private car park. We got to reception, where checkin was easy in a comforting lounge. Opposite is a lounge bar. There are keepsakes of Hexham and the surrounding area for sale in the hall area. Its a nice hotel. Quite old, from the frontage on Beaumont St, which is celebrating 100 years just now, but it has been tastefully extended. Note that whilst many of the rooms face the 'sele' a large grassed sort of park area with trees, ours didn't. That said, we faced the historical Battle Hill, the main through road in Hexham. We didnt notice the traffic sounds with windows closed- and bear in mind we are used to SILENCE living out in the sticks as we do. It was a muggy weekend, but there was a fan available that kept the room cool, and even with the window open, the traffic noise was not that significant. The standard of maintenance and cleanliness in the hotel was impeccable, and I am hard to please. The little touches like shortbread biscuits with the tea/coffee facility, the nice quality body wash and shampoo, as well as shower caps, just add to the ambience of a family run hotel with very high standards. All staff were friendly helpful and professional throughout. Darren (he of the external directions) took both our cases (at once) up two flights of stairs whilst we took the lift. The room was light, airy, and nicely furnished with a full wardrobe, desk, and drinks console. Also a full length mirror. A safe is also provided. There was a standard desk chair and two comfy chairs and a small dining height table. The large bed (about two large singles) console included reading lights and there was a phone in the room as well as wifi available. The bathroom was nicely equipped with basin taps nicely arched so you can easily fill the kettle-indicative of the nice touches in this hotel. There was a mirror above the washbasin, with light and shaver point and an extending makeup/shaving mirror. To breakfast. Our waitress was helpful and attentive, without being in your face. There was a buffet area with cereals, yogurt, fresh and tinned fruit, breads, and a toaster, pastries, butter spreads, jams etc. We ordered full English, with scrambled egg (you choose how you want your egg). Bacon, sausage, black pud, mushrooms, beans, hash brown, grilled tomato and fried bread, plus tea, connived to beat us both. Neither of us could finish this tasty meal. All lovely quality. As an alternative kippers are available. The restaurant is light and airy and you have a wonderful view of the sele. The lounge bar area is nicely furnished and the bar is well stocked. Whilst there are a number of steps, the thoughtfulness of the managers is evident by the grab rails at each set of steps and in the bathroom All in all an unexpectedly excellent stay.

    « one night stay »

We needed a one night stay in Hexham near to city centre, while visiting friends and to see the town, en route to another place. The hotel was clean with good facilities and met our needs completely. Other than breakfast we did not need to eat there.

« Chain hotel but personal touch »

Big comfortable room, great location in the heart of Hexham, friendly staff, good breakfast, solid choice and we enjoyed our couple of days here. Only minus point was our room safe didn't work and wasn't repaired when we asked. Also, the parking was ok for us as we arrived early - and have s small car - but space very limited and the entrance not that easy to find. We'd be happy to stay here again if revisiting Hexham

    « Kingdom of northumberlad »

The Beaumont hotel gave a very good service. The building is very old fashioned but even so they had made the best of it. The place was spotless, the staff were obliging and very helpful. The food was lovely although a bit repetitive. Nicely cooked though. We would stay there again if we went up there. The town of Hexham has some nice interesting places to see.

« Quality hotel. Attention to detail »

A very comfortable staff, 2 nights, very nice room, excellent choice at breakfast, staff very professional, from check in to departure we couldn't fault., we parked outside, that said the hotel has its own car park

    « Lovely week ! »

Just returned home after an enjoyable week staying in the Beaumont Hotel . Staff were attentive without being intrusive and attended to our needs promptly and efficiently. Stayed in room 22, spacious and spotless. Looks onto the road ( not noisy! ) and overlooks the park. Bathroom good , no bath but lovely walk in shower. Lift available so no lifting luggage up the stairs , although we were asked on arrival and on leaving if we would like help with our cases. Breakfasts good, and restaurant food excellent. No complaints at all.

« My worst nightmare The bed from hell »

I got what I thought was the last room at short notice 6.30 pm on the 12/7/16 due to a mix up at Slaley hall hotel which I can recommend I was playing golf in a Seniors county championship at Hexam My room was on the 2nd floor The shower leaked so Badly my feet were swimming The sink hot tap leaked the same way I had to get the tv remote changed as it didn't work The main problem was the bed from hell a thin mattress felt ever spring and the groan with every small movement I lasted 5 hours in there left at 6.30am and unfortunately my back was so bad could not play properly in the 2nd round Manager not very sympathetic at all she has slept in every bed in the hotel!!!! £80.00 no breakfast Slaley Hall £70.00 breakfast queen size bed has to be the place to stay in the area

« Two nights on our door step!!! »

We were having work done on our house, we live three mile away from the Beaumont Hotel. The hotel was busy with tourists but the staff were all friendly and efficient. The room was comfortable and very clean and we enjoyed our Full English Breakfast. Chatting to the guests we confirmed they were enjoying their visit to Hexham and the Beaumont Hotel.

    « Wonderful experience »

I had the great fortune to have just spent 4 nights on half board with a coach party at this hotel. The bedroom was spacious with a king size bed, a large bathroom and very clean hotel. the breakfast was tasty and plentiful and its nice in this day and age to have a cooked breakfast individually cooked. Great location, evening meal was good with a splendid choice. What made this visit a wonderful experience though was the friendly, helpful and efficient staff, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this place without hesitation,

    « Lovely weekend »

We stayed at the Beaumont last minute as we were visiting family in the area. They were very accommodating and set us up in a room that could sleep me, my husband and our son! We dined in the hotel and the food was great, as my son didn't see anything he fancied the chefs made him a meal on request which made our life a lot easier! I was pleasantly surprised by the town centre, there were some lovely little shops and a huge park opposite the hotel for us to have a walk and our son to have a play. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Hexham!

    « Nice hotel »

Very nice stay, staff were very helpful. Only issue is the limited parking but it is in a lovely but busy town center. They room was a good size. The breakfast was very nice and well presented. all in all a very nice and friendly hotel.

    « A great stay »

We stayed here on charity bike ride coast to coast, they provided us with storage for 26 bikes. even helping us with a short cut. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was of the highest quality as was the standard of the rooms. there is a small gated car park too.

« Not upto Best Western Standard »

this hotel has franchised with the best western hotels but does not offer the best western amenities. I was staying at the hotel this past weekend and was very disappointed with the room and the facilities. Their King room was very small compared to other rooms and the shower stall was extremely small with no bath tub. There is no refrigerator in the room and no ironing board in the room. these are standard facilities offered at every Best Western. The bed was hard as a rock and no extra amenities were available at the hotel for example tooth brush or tooth paste in case you forgot it. there was not bottle water in the room and the water in the bathroom was not sign posted to state if it was safe drinking water. Since this is a small village it was impossible to find a store open that was selling bottled water. These are basic requirements at any 2 or 3 star hotel especially if it is a Best Western franchise. The hotel had the audacity to charge me for complimentary newspaper. I would not recommend this hotel for seasoned travelers. It was not cheap hotel as we paid 140 pounds per night for a tiny room.

« Very helpful and accommodating »

We stayed 4 nights as part of a 26 strong walking group and found the hotel and its staff excellent. Always friendly and accommodating, nothing seemed too much trouble. Quick and attentive service at breakfasts and dinners. We stayed on the top floor in Chesters room which was a good size, with a comfortable double bed. Everything was refreshed each day, our only minor criticism would be the heat on the first night. Once we opened both windows all was fine. Very good value for money, and in an excellent location in the heart of Hexham, we would definitely stay again and heartily recommend the Beaumont.

« The view from this room was of the church roof next door! »

We had a two night free stay using our Best Western rewards points. We arrived quite late on the Friday night and the on street parking bays had all gone, and we did not know that the hotels underground parking entrance was around the corner, so we found parking spaces at Wentworth car park, which was a five minute walk away from the hotel. Wentworth car park is a free car park where you can park your car all day and night free of charge as long as you park in the white lined parking bays, and not the blue or red lined parking bays. On check in of the hotel, the receptionist said there was still parking spaces in the hotel car park, but we where ok where we were parked so we just left the car at Wentworth car park for the weekend. We were given a room on the third floor, Chester's, room number26. The room and bathroom were of a large size, with a large TV on the wall and two chairs were you normally just get one chair for the two of you. The view from this room was of the church roof next door! Apart from that the room was fine. There was not an alarm clock provided in the room or a free breakfast in this free night break. Go to Weatherspoon's for your breakfast, £11 for two breakfasts. Asked for glasses for our pre in room drinks, which was not a problem, they even asked what sort of glasses that you require.

    « Try the restaurant »

This is a very good hotel with standard features. Hexham now is difficult to get to because of work on A69 and coming in at 3:30 p.m. was rush hour. But the staff was lovely and we got parked. Best thing was the lovely meal in the restaurant tonight. Absolutely top notch. Very accommodating to what we wanted and my catch of the day was wonderful. Wonderful way to relax after walking Hadrian's Wall all day.

    « Fanstastic stay »

I've recently returned from an enjoyable night's stay at the Beaumont! I found the staff pleasant, courteous and more than helpful. I found the food delicious and despite only originally staying there due to a friends wedding, I am definitely considering another visit this year with the family to see more of Hexham!

    « Simply outstanding »

My concern with staying in Best Western Hotels is that they don't achieve the standards of other hotel chains - especially in the United Kingdom. The Beaumont is clearly the exception to the rule exemplified by the leadership demonstrated by the hotel owners whose professionalism and dedication to providing a simply outstanding stay is only matched by the staff who work for them. They strike the perfect balance of friendliness and service and are on a par with some of London's finest hotels. The beds are comfortable, rooms clean and fresh, the food is of high quality and the wine cellar compliments the tastes of the chef. Put simply, this is the best hotel in Northumberland and one I will return to on every visit.

« Nice hotel, dreadful parking »

Nice, quaint hotel spoil a bit by the very, very awkward underground parking. I read reviews of the hotel prior to contacting them and so asked for a room at the rear of the hotel, which I got. I had a good nights sleep, but then again Hexham is so quiet I guess even one at the front would have been fine. A good breakfast in a very nice restaurant. Reception staff very friendly.

    « Another pleasant stay »

Once again it was nice to be welcomed back by management team Linda & Martin Owen along with their excellent pleasant well lead staff. As always this well trained team made certain my all too short visit was made very pleasant. This very central and spotlessly clean hotel must be classed as a leader in the area for any visitor in this county with; services, courtesies and excellent breakfasts impossible to be bettered. I really look forward to my next visit which is great value for price charged.

    « Mrs »

Lovely hotel with helpful and attentive staff. Excellent with my little ones as well. View from our room overlooked a lovely park and the abbey nearby. Room was beautifully neat and clean was a great size for all of us. I will definitely be visiting this area again and know exactly where I will be staying!!!!

    « Excellent service »

The hotel was better than we expected, being privately owned by the present owners for i think 30 years! We were shown to our room, which was light & airy, clean, lovely bathroom, soft towels, nice toiletries, we did not have a front bedroom overlooking the park but someone has to be at the rear of the hotel. The service was excellent, the evening meals were well presented, hot & we were spoiled for choice. the breakfast was just as good, i.e.presentation, choice of food, etc.etc. The room was made up after our 1st night & you wouldn't of known we had slept in it the night before, everything was changed & it was again spotless. The only negative was the small car park at the rear of the hotel, the approach was very tight, & you could see the stone wall was suffering from being caught time after time, but i must add Not by us!!

« Nothing was too much trouble »

Just had three relaxing nights here. We were on the top floor overlooking the park, a super view of flowers and blossom. Spacious room, comfortable bed, all spotlessly clean. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was cooked to order, evening dining was impressively good. We were a large party and nobody had a single gripe about accommodation, food or service. It is an old building well modernised, and there are a few steps here and there, which might be an issue for someone with limited mobility. Also, the hotel's private parking is small and not that easy to locate at first. Very centrally located, just by the abbey and market square. Lovely. We hope to return!

    « Lovely Hotel »

I have stayed at the Best Western Beaumont Hotel in Hexham a few times over the past couple of years, my most recent visit being the 8th-10th April 2016. The hotel itself is lovely, rooms are really comfortable and of good size, and its in a wonderful location just a couple of minutes walk from the Abbey and the main shopping street. The staff are also really friendly, helpful and attentive. This is definitely the place to stay in Hexham and I will definitely be returning. Hexham and the surrounding area is a fantastic to place to visit and explore, there is loads to do and the scenery is superb!

    « Satisfactory »

I always book following fellow Tripadvisors comments, but on this stay my views differ slightly. Our room was immaculate, as was the large bathroom (with both bath and separate shower), the bed was firm and comfortable and there was nothing wrong with the fittings and fixtures. What I did think was a let down were the little things that make a stay special. The heating didn't seem to come on until early evening, so the room was chilly for quite a while, the shampoo provided almost seemed like it had been topped up with water as the top was quite runny, and there was not enough shower gel for 2 people (I need more than 15ml!!). There was a Spring Fair on in the park over the road, so the road outside was closed - the receptionist did inform us that we could get parked, but by this time we had already paid to park elsewhere, as we didn't think we could get through, so a quick email the day before would have been useful. I also got charged twice (I thought I'd already paid via a booking agency but doubted myself when presented with a bill, therefore paid, and checked when I got home to find I had previously paid). This was quickly dealt with by the booking agency/hotel, which I am grateful for. I don't think that I would stay here again, I thought it was quite expensive for what you got, I am more used to budget chain hotels but like to support family ran establishments when I can, but this didn't encourage me as it was no different, for over twice the price.

    « Good stuff. »

Huge room with nice views over Hexham. Room service food was s high standard. Bed very comfy. Bath tub for washing the bairn in. Brilliant staff. Couldn't say a bad thing about the place if I wanted to. Breakfast in the morning was also very good, with views over Hexham. Perfect!

    « Cycle Delight »

We could not believe it when we checked in to the hotel amidst a prosession of very expensive bikes. It just so happened that there was a bike race happening over the weekend and the JLT Condor team was in Hexham. So we had a great weekend in the company of Ed Clancey and the boys. The Beaumont was very accommodating as there was our wedding party as well as the cycle fun. The staff were excellent, very pleasant room overlooking the hills at the back, and good facilities. Breakfast was excellent even though both breakfast rooms were full. Definitely worth a revisit .

    « Really friendly hotel. »

Hexham is a lovely town. Stayed here last Sunday and Monday evenings while visiting the area. V comfy as usual with v friendly, pleasant and helpful staff. Very comfy room. Parking on site which is great. Will definitely be back again.

    « A relaxing stay. »

Our room (Beaumont suite) was wonderful. The bed was especially comfortable and the shower was brilliantly powerful. We visited for a very well deserved rest. The staff were friendly, helpful and approachable, the room was spotless, modern and stylish. I had a wonderful couple of nights sleep. I also enjoyed the cooked breakfast. Our food allergies were accommodated with no problems too. WiFi was easy and free. Highly recommend a stay here.

« Great staff, disappointing stay. »

Great welcome and attention to service when we arrived. Our room was of a good standard overlooking the park and things were looking good. However the large flat screen attached to the wall could not be seen from the bed and on using the bathroom, the toilet was very unsteady and didn't appear to be fitted properly. Breakfast the following day was average at best and seemed to be made up from some cheap ingredients masked by large helpings of grease. Overall it's a great location and the staff more than makes up for its short comings, just needs a little attention to detail.

    « An excellent 3 star »

Great location, clean, friendly and very accommodating. Evening meals are Very good for this level of hotel, and the staff are a real credit to the place. Being gluten free posed no problem, in fact chef asked what I would like tomorrow for dessert! What a treat. So close to Hadrian's Wall and other great locations.

    « Amazing Staff! »

All the staff were brilliant. Friendly and approachable but not overpowering. The chef was so very accommodating for my sister who is gluten free, he offered so many alternatives she was spoilt for choice!

« Excellent hotel, great staff, tasty breakfast »

My wife and I stayed at the Beaumont for an Easter break, on Good Friday and Saturday night. We were in a King Room and had breakfast. The hotel is just at the top of the hill in Hexham within easy walking of the town centre. The hotel has a small, safe car park underneath, with room for about 8 cars, so arriving early before check-in is advised if you want a place. During our stay all the staff were very friendly and helpful be it the at reception, in the bar, restaurant or when cleaning your room. Our room was very well appointed, modern décor, clean and well sound proofed from other rooms - we had a very good night sleep on both nights. The shower (no bath) was good and easily controlled. Breakfast was a particular highlight as after juices, cereals, croissants etc, the cooked option was served quickly, fresh and hot, including sausage, bacon, black pudding, hash brown, fried bread, mushrooms, baked beans and tomato - a real blow out! We also stayed in for one evening and enjoyed a very reasonable fixed 3 course meal. Last point, the Wi-Fi was easy to connect to and quick.

« Return of the Mack »

I lived in Hexham for some time but left 20 years ago so coming back to the town on business was a bit strange. When I wad booked into the Beaumont I was interested to see what it was like. Staff were very polite. The rooms however are a little boring and dated. Breakfast was average. Location is good for all that Hexham had to offer. Not sure I would pay for myself but for a business trip its adequate.

    « Nice hotel »

All staff polite and welcoming. Bedroom clean and adequate and lovely bathroom. Nice to have choice of shower or bath. I could get the radio through the TV which I liked. Breakfast prepared for me and food delicious.

    « Back again »

Great to be back in Hexham and at the Beaumont again. Excellent bar meals for our family and the usual first class breakfast. Friendly staff as always, good service and the owner as always setting a fine example and working hard !!

« Large room- and nice bathroom »

I know the hotel is not responsible for its noisy guests but was disturbed many times by inconsiderate people talking in the corridor/stairs instead of going to bed quietly! Great staff, bar and restaurant a little small but OK Bedroom 22 massive- loads of modern facilities and very clean! Really nice P shaped shower- giving plenty of room etc, large tv on a fireplace. Good WIFI. Pillows a little too small and flat for my liking but that's easy to change/improve. Overall a good experience and recommended for people staying in the town!

« Great Hotel for a short break »

Lovely hotel in a lovely Northern town, I wasn't there for long but the room was great and clean and brekky was delicious!! Had a couple of hours to kill before a meeting so drove 20 minutes to Hadrians Wall, covered in snow it was fantastic, have advised my parents to stay here for a weekend break and visit the wall!

    « Happy in Hexham »

We stayed here for one night recently and were very happy with the hospitality shown throughout. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The hotel is centrally situated within easy walking distance of the Abbey, pubs and restaurants.

    « Lovely stay... »

We recently stayed one night in the Beaumont hotel in Hexham. It was a lovely hotel with all the amenities we could have needed. A nice clean spacious room with a great shower. Breakfast was included and there was a great selection. Every single member of staff was so welcoming and very professional. They are really a credit to the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

    « Just the job »

A small but very friendly hotel. All the staff were helpful and welcoming. The room was large and immaculate. Fairly basic furniture but the bathroom was pristine and everything worked as it should. We were in a second floor room in the South Wing which because it only had a velux window could be a little warm in the summer. However since we were ther in winter it was warm and cosy. We drank in the hotel bar and had a three course dinner too. The food quality and presentation exceeded my expectation and we all enjoyed the meal which was also served by attentive staff in the restaurant on the first floor. Parking was in public spaces opposite the hotel, but they provided a parking disc which meant we didn't have to hurry to move the car in the morning. We would certainly stay there again.

« Everything as it was supposed to be.... »

I booked this hotel for a farmer meeting (50 odd) and an overnight stay and I can honestly say it went as smoothly as could possibly be expected. Parked outside the front, but be aware this is only free from about 5pm to 9am the following morning. Checked into my room. Well appointed. Comfortable. Bed pretty good. Down in the conference suite, things were laid out efficiently and orderly. Good screen on the wall. Table set perfectly for my projector and laptop. 4 way extension sat waiting for me. Plenty of room to walk about and 7 tables set for 8 people. The meeting went well with plenty of good questions from the audience and then bang on cue they brought out the meal. A nice lasagne with chips and side salad followed by either sticky toffee pud or a cheesecake. All very tasty and washed down with tea or coffee. The service was again efficient and the chat amongst the tables allowed to develop. Slowly, after an hour, people started to disappear. A couple of pints for me and then hit the hay time. Morning brought a paper outside my room, a lovely breakfast served by a SUPER efficient waitress who managed to perfectly juggle the needs of a dozen men sat individually at tables, where most larger establishments have failed with 2 staff. Proper butchers sausages, all cooked freshly from the kitchen. Large pots of fresh tea to boot. Check out, was as quick as check in. The bill was larger than I had foreseen but this was due to extra attendance rather than over charging. If I had stayed as just an overnight resident, I wouldn't have been disappointed with the cost. All in all, a great stay. I would be happy to return.

    « Great hotel ! »

Rooms are spacious, clean and warm. Nice bar on ground floor with friendly bar staff. Good location. If we're working in the area again, then this is the hotel we will choose for our next stay. Breakfast has a large choice. Any problems with anything..just ask and its sorted. Top rate service from a top rate team. It's been a pleasure to have stayed there.

« going to races at hexam. »

It is my husband that goes to hotel with 3 friends once a year it is very well run, they are always made welcome, good value for money, rooms are are spotless they have been going for about 5 years now we were looking at it for to go for a weekend trip for a race meeting not that i like racing but my husband said there are some nice pups about, but the hotel is also nice for a drink and good breakfast in morning, it is worth a visit.

    « NYE Casino Night »

My wife and I, as well as a small group of friends, recently visited the Beaumont for their Casino night on NYE. I was in the local area on business over the festive period, and decided to make the most of it by arranging to meet up with some friends from Northumberland. We were treated to a 5 course meal and a bottle of Champagne, as well as chips for the Casino tables, and then music until the early hours. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and the food was fantastic. We ended up staying in the hotel for 5 nights, in one of the newer rooms overlooking the Park. Room as usual (I stay here every month for a few days for business) was clean and comfortable, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

    « Great hotel »

We started to stay back in 2008 for the occasional visit to the area. It is perfect in term of its central location in the town and directly opposite the park. Hexham is a nice town to browse. We have stayed on four occasions and also attended a wedding there. So having stayed in the old part of the building overlooking the park and the new build with views of the main street. Both were very nice. The bar area and adjacent lounge are well decorated and staff very pleasant. Good northeast hospitality. This is a definite if you want a few days to check out this part of Northumberland is Hadrian's Wall and Hexham itself.

« First class Sunday lunches and evening meals »

We've been to the Beaumont Hotel a few times for both Sunday lunch and evening meals. It would be hard to find fault with the food and the service we've received on every occasion. The chef produces excellent meals and the hotel is more than happy to cater for dietary requirements and special requests. My brother and family have stayed at the hotel on various occasions and have also had no complaints.

« Welcoming comfortable hotel in a great little town »

Booked the hotel for a short stopover after visiting relatives and was not disappointed. It started with a very friendly welcome at check-in and all the staff we came across were friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and comfortable (it was a king room). We did not have dinner at the hotel but breakfast was very tasty. The only minor downside was the water pressure in the shower but there was a bath in the room as an alternative. I would stay here again as I loved Hexham and would like to see more of the place.

    « Poor customer service »

Writing this on behalf of a group of pensioners who are not members of Trip. They had paid for Xmas meal but had to cancel on the day because of snow. Hotel would not reimburse some of the money or offer another meal later despite the fact that roads were too bad to get there from Prudhoe/ Blaydon area. They had paid £295 and the offer was £5 off each if they booked again! The difference of approach by the bus company - who did not charge - was telling.

    « Good central location »

The Beaumont feels like a small, boutique hotel and is in good central location, opposite Hexham Abbey, handy for shops, pubs and restaurants. Friendly welcoming staff, clean comfortable room. We hadn't paid for breakfast and at £100 for one night twin, this was a bit steep, however arriving back from a concert, soaked through, at 10.30pm, bar staff quickly rustled up fresh sandwiches and salad. Hotel has its own, small car park tucked behind, was a relief to get out of the zone display parking bays out front. Would definitely book again.

    « Wedding venue »

My daughter was married at The Beaumont on December 5th. Although the weather was dreadful, the hotel did everything possible to make the day enjoyable and a memorable experience. The hotel provided a suite for the bridal party and kindly offered my husband and I a room to change in because of the dreadful weather conditions. All our guests who stayed at the hotel were impressed by the level of service, food and standard of accommodation. This is a family run hotel and this was evident in the personalised service we were given. The ceremony was held in an upstairs room and the celebrant and registrar made this a relaxing but moving occasion. The reception was held in the ballroom, pleasantly decorated for Christmas. Everyone praised the quality of the meal and prompt, yet unobtrusive service. The winter wedding package was excellent value and included a disco and evening buffet. I would highly recommend this hotel as a wedding venue and also as a place to stay. Thank you to all the staff for making the wedding a perfect day.

    « Amazing wedding venue »

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Beaumont last weekend. We couldn't have asked for a better venue, the staff were so friendly and relaxed and nothing was too much trouble. We had lots of small children and the Hotel was very child friendly. Everything ran like clockwork, there was no waiting around for hours and the food was gorgeous and the room set out by the staff just as we wanted. I would recommend the Beaumont to anyone wanting to stay or get married in Hexham.

« Friendly and Attentive Service »

We booked two nights at the Beaumont in order to attend a service at the Abbey. The storms prevented us getting there the first night, and although we could only let them know at 8.00 p.m. they didn't charge us for the cancellation. Most kind, and thoughtful given the stressful journey we had having been cut off by the floods within 10 miles of the hotel. Our room was ready for us when we managed to get through next morning - a lovely large and comfortable room overlooking the park. A table was reserved for us in the restaurant and we enjoyed lunch being able to choose from both the bar menu and the Sunday lunch menu. The owners were attentive, friendly and helpful: clearly they have invested in the hotel over the years to keep it up to the standards expected today. A lovely hotel in a lovely market town.

« Food barely warm...shame cos nice surroundings... »

Long wait for food..had 3 drinks just warm..can make better veggie meals myself...need some decent staff....defo wouldn't advise family's to dine here..we were in a group but certainly not for families....

« Shopping combined with some sightseeing »

Booked this hotel on the strength of reviews on TripAdvisor. My wife and I weren't disappointed. The hotel was very clean. our room very comfortable with a lovely bathroom. The food in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was well presented and

    « A surprise »

Hotel booked on recommendation of locals. We stayed for 3 nights for a wedding in Hexham Abbey. We walked there in 2 minutes! Perfectly located in central Hexham. The place is a lot bigger than you think. Our room was spacious, modern and quiet. No complaints. In fact we were impressed. Breakfast, included in the Tarif was as little or as much as you could eat. We had no complaints. Car parking wasn't straight forward, but we managed to get around it, and no problem over night as plenty parks out front of hotel. Used hotel car park one night. Staff at hotel helpful and cooperative. If you want old traditional go for that sort of place, this is a hotel, perfectly adequate for any stop over in Hexham, and we recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Hexham, enjoyed the town centre, the wedding at the Abbey, a drive to Hadrians Wall, the metro centre, and the stay at the Beaumont Hotel.

    « Wouldn't be my first choice »

Was attending a meeting for work in this area and was booked this hotel. The first disappointment was a lack of hotel car park and parking was on street that is chargeable up to 5pm. The room I was given was a twin so I had to sleep in a single bed which was very uncomfortable. Pillows were like cardboard and the temperature of the room seemed to be set as though they were trying to roast a chicken. Breakfast was ok, although they did get my order wrong. In summary, if the stay was being paid by myself I wouldn't have been happy with the value for money.

« Warm local stone outside and a warm welcome within. »

This is a classic building in warm local stone with a warm and welcoming interior. Beaumont Hotel is easy to find just off the main street in central Hexham, near the Abbey and overlooking the park. There is limited free hotel parking but public parking is available on the street outside and in nearby car parks. Hexham makes a good base for exploring Northumbria and the northern Pennines. We were met with a smile at check in which was efficient and relaxed. That was to be our experience of the staff throughout our stay. Restaurant and bar meals were simple but well done and served with a smile. Limited beer on tap so I was drinking lager by default but this was suitably cool. Breakfast service was good with a "continental buffet" and mains cooked to order. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance. Room size was good for a traditional hotel building. Rooms at the front have views over the park, which was in full Autumn colour when we stayed. The room was quiet and warm and the bed comfortable.TV included several satellite channels and the ensuite bathroom was clean and well stocked with toiletries. We were staying for a wedding which was made all the more special by the attention to detail and warm of the staff.

« Got the important things right »

Whilst I agree with some previous reviewers that the rooms were a little sparse and somewhat dated (with the variable water pressure in the shower seeming to indicate a similar ageing in the plumbing), this is not something that really matters to us so long as other aspects of the stay are good and we felt that the hotel did get this right. The staff were universally friendly, conversational and helpful and the breakfasts were very good. The hotel is also superbly positioned in the centre of town opposite the park and a couple of hundred yards to the Abbey. Both restaurants we visited were also within five minutes or so walk. Overall would definitely recommend

« Central and good value for money »

Stayed here on business and I found it to be central and good value for money. I took the bed and breakfast and dinner deal which served my purpose adequately. The one downside is that they've got very hard beds and have a very small parking area for customers so you may find yourself having to park on the street

    « Quality Hotel »

Good service food and quality amenities. Very relaxing stay . Nice area to explore and good location for Hexham races. The restaurant offers quality at a reasonable price and in pleasant dining area. The staff are friendly and helpful .Only issue is limited parking area but it is free

    « Fantastic Wedding Venue »

I live in Devon and booked the Beaumont as a venue for our wedding as it looked fabulous online. It lived up to every expectation, and the whole experience was wonderful. I arrived on Sunday night, and was well looked after from the start. My room was gorgeous, on the top floor and overlooking the park. The bed was spacious and very comfy, and I had everything I needed. I took breakfast in my room on Monday, and chose the meats and was amazing, and as a cheese fanatic I was impressed with the portion size! Now to the actual wedding part. I was moved into the Beaumont suite, a lovely part of the hotel again overlooking the park and also the Abbey, which is a stunning piece of architecture. The Manager met with me to run through final arrangements, and his professionalism and experience shone through. The staff were fantastic with calming us all and ensuring everything went smoothly and that we were all in the right place at the right time. Without their guidance and expertise Im sure we would have all been a nervous chaotic wreck! We married in the Abbey Suite, a beautiful room that was decorated to perfection, then made our way next door to the restaurant for our sit down dinner. Again, Manager Martin was brilliant in getting everyone seated and settled before my husband and I came through. The food was first-class. Pork and apricot roulade to start. Succulent roast beef with seasonal vegetables for the main with a fantastic Yorkshire pud on the side, and the best sticky toffee pud to finish. Amazing. And all of our guests thought so too, so many thanks to the kitchen brigade and the FOH staff for providing this fantastic meal! After we cut our cake (expertly laid out by the staff) we made our way to the bar and enjoyed many many drinks. We were well looked after and more than catered for by the staff once again, and everyone commented on what a fantastic day it had been, and how impressed they were by the staff and venue. My husband and I stayed on till Wednesday and were so happy with our suite. Excellent layout, clean and spacious, with special thanks to the domestic team who ensured the room was kept immaculate through our stay and ensuring we had plenty of tea! On our final night we ordered room service and had a fabulous steak and salad, which was perfect. The breakfasts too were brilliant! All in all, I would highly recommend the Beaumont as both a wedding venue and place to stay. Fantastic staff, fantastic location and an amazing few days,so thank you to all at the Beaumont for the brilliant experience. We will be back for our anniversary!

    « I am glad that I didn't pay for the room »

On a business trip my company booked accommodation on my behalf. I think they paid £119 inc breakfast. The room had everything you could need and served me well but I was expecting something a little more - I'm not sure what that was but something was lacking. Premier Inn felt more luxurious? The room service for my evening meal was good and the steak was delicious so this made me a little happier. Breakfast was okay, lots of choice but I only had a bacon sandwich and the bread felt stale.

« Good hotel, convenient location »

This is a good quality hotel in the center of charming Hexham, yet parking is easy. So you can walk in a couple of minutes to restaurants, the abbey, etc. The hotel restaurant is good, and a nice alternative if you are tired and eating late. Hexham is a good location to get to Hadrian's Wall, Newcastle, Durham, and even Alnwick Castle & the Holy Island of Lindisfarne in the far Northeast. As I recall, Wifi was not great.

« Third visit, third happy experience. »

My wife and I paid our third visit to the Beaumont and enjoyed the same wonderful experience as on the two previous visits. Clean, well furnished room with adequate facilities. Breakfast provides all you need to set you up for the day and dinner is superb. The staff are as pleasant and as helpful as ever and most importantly the manager makes a point of making himself visible and as versatile as the other members of staff. Nice to be able to return to an establishment where standards are maintained and if possible are actually improved. Full marks to all concerned in the management and day to day running of this excellent hotel.

    « Very enjoyable stay »

Only stayed the one night but can thoroughly recommend this hotel. Being located in the middle of town noise etc could have been an issue, it wasn't. Also the staff are very attentive without being intrusive. The proprietor helped me to carry the bags to our car in the morning where we spent 10 minutes chatting about Portugal. A very comfortable, friendly hotel.

    « Lovely stay »

Quick overnight stay en route to support my wife and her pals in the Great North Run. Great location in this beautiful market town. Lovely well equipped and appointed rooms, pleasant lounge and bar areas. Good free wi fi and an excellent breakfast. Will be back for a longer stay and explore of the area. Didn't try the restaurant but will next time. Thanks to all the team.

« Convenient location, comfortable rooms »

This hotel is in a great location in the centre of Hexham. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and most importantly clean. Breakfast was great, and whilst we didn't eat dinner in the main restaurant we heard from other guests that it was super and very good value. The hotel has a car park which is useful, and the bar is open all night for guests staying at the hotel! The staff are ever so friendly and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

    « Lovely food »

We went here for a meal early evening. The service was friendly and quick, the selection was a good and varied and well the full was lovely - colourful and tasty... Good sized portions Located in the heart of Hexham opposite the Abbey and good to explore Hexham
