    « Awesome Place »

My wife and I stayed at the Galveston Best Western Plus Suites on Galveston Island for 5 nights in early November 2016. I can say in all honesty that when we visit Galveston, which will be frequently during the next several months (we're building a house there) we will stay exclusively at the Best Western Plus. Everything was top notch, but most importantly the staff was the best we've experienced in a long time. That says a lot because my wife and I both are aircrew for a major airline and we stay in many hotels, probably 12-15 nights per month between the 2 of us. The property is just a few months old, and everything is new, clean and works great. Our room had a very nice balcony overlooking the Gulf. The beach is just across the street, and although the hotel is close to the road, the room was very quite. There was a counter height refrigerator and microwave in room. The a/c was very cold and the bed comfortable. Bath was good size with big shower and plenty of water pressure. The Internet was actually "high-speed"and plenty of channels on the tv too. The fitness center is small but well equipped with a few good cardio machines and a muti-station weight machine that works well. If you need a real gym there is one a few miles away that charges an $8 day pass. The pool was clean and they keep the hot-tub hot. I used both twice every day. The included breakfast is an awesome deal, with REAL eggs and plenty of other healthy and otherwise options. You can have a great meal every morning. The staff was truly friendly, more than pleasant, and helpful. We showed up on very short notice By calling about 15 minutes away without a reservation. BRYCE was working the desk and quickly made us a reservation. When we showed up literally 15 minutes later Bryce announced that he had actually secured a better rate than initially quoted. This motivated guy also said that he got us his favorite room which has a great pool/ gulf view and that he ran up and turned the a/c on to get the room cooled down for us. All this in less than 15 minutes from a cold call. That's fantastic customer service. At check in he also got me enrolled in the Best Western Rewards program. He's a serious go-getter. Also, we had a few minor requests during our stay that Bryce quickly accommodated. We had a flat tire one morning and while I was out messing with the spare, WARD the chef wandered out, introduced himself and said he saw out the kitchen windows that we might need some help. What is this, a Four Seasons?? Someone runs up to our room to turn the a/c on to cool the room down prior to out arrival, and the chef comes out of the kitchen to help us with a flat tire. This is friendly service you would only expect at a high end hotel that costs $$$$. We also had a nice talk with the manager one day after breakfast, and he offered plenty of advice on the local area. So our advice when traveling to Galveston is: stay at the Best Western Plus Suites, the one down the seawall a few miles at 8503 Seawall. Bryce and the Best Western crew will take very good care of you.

« Great view and stay »

The hotel is modern and we'll managed. The view from our room was excellent. The breakfast was good except the military powder eggs terrible. The location is central so me and my wife had no problem getting around enjoying the attraction. I would recommend this hotel with a keep an eye on the shower hair and skip the eggs.

« New hotel, loved the beach view »

I think some of the bad reviews are for the other BW on the other end of the seawall. This one is newer and we had a great stay. Staff was friendly and service was great. Every room in this hotel has a balcony and ocean view. We loved sitting out with coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night. Room was nice and spacious. Breakfast was the continental norm - nothing special but enough to choose from. Would definitely stay here again.

« A brand new hotel, great staff »

Enjoyed the hotel very much, the views are excellent, the rooms comfortable, and again the hotel is brand new with a few growing pains. The cleanliness is poor at best but during our checkout we met the new cleaning staff manager so lets hope she can get that under control.

« Amazing Hospitality and great hotel too »

I am a seasoned business traveler and was in town with family for a group cruise which I coordinated. Bryce was very helpful, attentive, and really personable. His hospitality was second to none. The hotel is pretty new and everything was great. The over-sized hot tub is a must. My husband and I will definitely return for a weekend get away. It is appropriately placed on the seawall where you can get the beauty of Galveston without being in the hustle and bustle of the foot traffic near entertainment section. This hotel and Bryce are highly recommended!

    « Our weekend getaway »

Bryce was great..we got the room with the awesome view, very clean and front desk helpful. Budget friendly. Our room and bed was very inviting and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

« Good place for the best price »

There are a few hotels that quote a good price but have bad quality of service but this place gives you efficient service for the same good price. Great view of the sea, very clean room, prompt and courteous service by the staff ( Kudos to Mr BRYCE). We stayed there in November and plan on staying there in our next visit too. I gave only 4 stars as the breakfast was not up to the mark, not enough quantity and variety.

« Very nice place to stay »

New hotel. Very clean. People were very helpful and kind. Room was very good. Decorated beautifully. If we go back we will be staying at the best western plus. Also the bed was wonderful and best pillows I have ever slept on.

« Great New Hotel with Wonderful Customer Service »

We stayed at the new Galveston Best Western Plus on the Seawall while we were visiting the Moody Gardens. The rooms are great with a beautiful view and balcony facing the Gulf of Mexico. The view in the morning with the sun shining on the water was breathtaking. The customer service was outstanding. Each and every member of the staff we spoke to or just passed in the hallway was kind, helpful and showed and incredible amount of friendliness. The Breakfast was very good and the staff was very helpful. I am looking forward to our next stay!

« Nice, Clean, Excellent Service »

My husband and I were very pleased with our over night stay. We were impressed with the staff and services there. They were definitely there waiting to see to your needs from the time we walked into the lobby until we checked out. Breakfast was good - nice variety/selection, clean and attendants there to offer assistance. Bryce was very helpful and pleasant when we checked out. Nice to deal with such friendly/knowledgeable people.

    « FILTHY!!!! »

I don't even know where to start.....My family and I just had an absolutely horrible experience at Best Western Plus in Galveston, Texas. This is a brand new hotel and both of our rooms were absolutely filthy. There was hair (head & pubic), bugs and black something in the showers. There was sand from one end of the room to the other. Sand covering the floors and couch. I pulled back the sheets and there were orange stains all over the sheets. I initially called down to the front desk when we checked in at 4 and was told someone would be up immediately. We returned to the room at 7 and no one had cleaned. I called back down to the front desk and was told again someone would be up. As we were leaving the room, a housekeeping women met us at the door. We explained the issues and she said....well I would have to sweep and you want me to do that? Then she leaves saying she needs to get the mop. I walk down stairs about 5 minutes later and she is sitting in a chair talking to two other employees. We return to the room at 10 to the bathroom soap replaced and NOTHING ELSE CLEANED. I called a third time and was advised by the manager that she said she cleaned the room and he apologized and said it would be taken off my bill. I had to use my husbands shirt as a blanket due to the cleanliness of the hotel, my husband showered in flip flops and I refused to enter the shower all together. In the other room (also disgusting) the manager entered their room while they were sleeping at 4am saying he didn't realize the room was taken. The shower was also so disgusting he had to put a towel down in the shower. I've honestly never experienced the level of filth and bad customer service at any other hotel. Due to it being the Lonestar Rally, the two rooms were not cheap. When we checked out, nothing taken off my bill, he admitted entering my parents room, that the bills note all of the issues and that front desk staff is cleaning the rooms due to lack of housekeeping. I would also suggest being careful because the balcony was loose. After our return the manger states he will refund $54 per room due to issues. No refund. I just get an email from he saying we wouldn't get the refund from the hotel bc we booked through Expedia. We didn't book through Expedia. This place is a nightmare. I would suggest sleeping in a tent in a vacant parking lot before staying in this hotel.

    « Weekend getaway! »

Everything is brand new so everything is clean. Great price and the staff was extremely nice and helpful! The hot tub was great! Full breakfast served every morning. Great view of the sea wall from our patio! The patio chairs aren't very comfortable but it's nice to have a patio! The room was spacious and clean! The king size bed and pillows were so comfy! Great hotel for the price! I would definitely stay here again! I recommend this one!

    « Nice! »

Staff was great, Bryce was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and it wasn't one of those continental deals. They had eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereals, fruit, good pastries, and juices and coffee. The room was clean and smelled nice. I will certainly stay here again.

« Will never stay at another Best Western because of this one! »

The property was new, but not as clean as you would expect. I was locked out of my room and was told I would have to pay for my room again because the booking agents card was declined. Stayed for two nights and no room service. I stay on the road an average of 4 nights a week for work. I have never had someone lock me out of my room and demand I pay again because of a problem with a major online booking company. If this property does not want to deal with online booking agencies, they picked the wrong business!

    « Very good place »

Room was clean and comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was great and the guy taking care of the area was good and friendly. The people at the front desk were great. Balcony was a nice touch. Will stay here again.

« Do not leave anything on the back of your truck! It will get stolen!!! »

The hotel just recently opened and the staff was nice upon our arrival. We chose this location because of it's closeness to the 91st Street Pier. We had all of our fishing equipment and coolers stolen from the back of our truck. It had to have been several people because our tailgate locks with our doors. They had to lift the heavy coolers in order to steal them. There was another family that lost their fishing gear as well. There is a privacy fence out back but parking up against it did not deter the thieves.

    « Pre Cruise stay »

When i stayed the hotel had only been open for 9 days. I checked in and was given a room directly in front of the elevators. I went back down to the check in and asked for another room due to me being a lite sleeper. The entire staff at the hotel was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was very good and everything fresh. They had scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, cold cereal, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, tea and juices. Tim Arthur in the dining area was so kind and friendly and kept the area very clean. He made sure the guests had what they needed and asked how things were. Marissa at the front desk was also very kind and helpful. This being a new hotel had some finishing touches that needed to be done. The bathroom and tiles were dirty and grout was missing in some spots. Touch ups in paint needed. Overall good price for this new hotel that is non-smoking.

« New but not clean enough for me. »

There were hairs all over our sheets like they had never been cleaned. I called the front desk and they were quick to come up and bring us new sheets. The toilet and bathtub were not very clean either. The hotel itself was clean and new but I felt like the rooms needed to be cleaner. For it being a brand new hotel I was disappointed. There were people smoking right next to us on their balconies which was rude. Its a non smoking facility I thought? The noise level was loud into the night but I think that was because we were by the elevators. The front desk was very friendly and the breakfast was decent for free. Since it is so far down on the sea wall you can't see any beach just the waves.

« Awesome hotel with links to iron. »

Recently I attended a conference in Galveston and stayed at this great hotel! The rooms are all ocean facing with great views of the gulf, including an amazing view of the sunrise. Great and friendly staff! The only issue is at check in and checkout the process was a tiny bit long. Short of that my stay was amazing and I plan to return!

    « Great hotel »

Checked in early room on 5th floor high great view staff very helpful there are 2 BWplus hotels in Galvaston both on seawall one on east beach and one on west beach very confusing went to wrong one first but they redirected us name same just different addresses

« Great place to say in Galveston »

just want to give a big pat on the back to the fabulous employees at Galveston Suites 8502 Seawall BLVD. Dade Vincent, GM; Marissa & Tim, were welcoming, informative and just over-all wonderful! They pointed in the right direction for things to do while we were there, answered questions and made us all feel right at home!

« Major growing pains for a brand new hotel »

Inexperienced staff (cleaning crew in particular) for a brand-new hotel meant an excessively long check-in process, a broken a/c unit in the room, and failed promise of extended breakfast hours to make up for the check-in debacle. That being said, great location, very nice room, loved the balcony facing the gulf. Hopefully, once they work out the kinks of being new, it will be a great place to stay.

« The older married couple »

We were the second couple to check in to this new hotel actually we went to the wrong best Western but they took care of the problem actually there was no problem for them to staff was excellent service was great the view is awesome just felt you were definitely at a five-star hotel well done even the maids to the people cleaning up to do all the help or friendly considerate and helpful I would recommend this hotel to anybody and your prices were great

    « Fantastic place! »

This place is brand new. The rooms are very spacious. Every room has an ocean view. The staff is very accommodating. I will definitely stay here again!! The floors are a wood like product, yay, no carpet
