« Great night in Arkansas »

I made reservations about 12 noon. We arrived and checked in about 7:30pm. The staff was friendly, the room had one very comfortable king bed bed, refrigerator And small one cup coffee maker. The room on the south side was about 69 degrees all night long, the thermostat was set at 68 degrees and the heater never came on. The room was clean and well maintained. The bath had a tub and shower. The hotel provided us with a bar of soap, shampoo and hand lotion. There was a table with one chair, a counter with one chair and a LG 40in TV. Shopping and a variety of restaurants nearby. We stayed here about 20 years ago and received the same great experience. I would recommend this hotel for your stay.

« Beware of the new Best Western branding revision »

Best Western has recently redesignated all of their properties as either BW or Best Western Plus. This property in Clarksville is a BW and should be thought of as a Motel 6 wannabe. It seems as though NOTHING has been done to the rooms since it opened in the 1950's. The price was a full $82 like it was a best western but the rooms were old and poorly kept. I got in at 8 pm and the parking lot was full. I left at 5 am and the lot was literally empty. What does that mean? If this is a trend beware of Best Westerns with the basic BW sign

« One nigt stay while traveling »

The TV wouldn't work in our room, after attempts by staff to fix it. Our hostess/front desk person was great! She moved us upstairs to a room where everything worked. She was great! I would recommend a different TV/Internet service provider.

« Nice motel, room location noise »

We checked in and everything went smooth until the trucks pulled in at the rear of the motel. The trucks had refrigeration units and they are powered by small diesel engines. They started and stopped every 10-15 minutes all night. As it was late and we were already settled in this room, we didn't try to see if there was another room available for us to move to.

« Make sure and ask for a pet free room! »

When we first arrived we were impressed, cold room, smelt good, clean, a little small but decent. But when we warmed the room up a little we started to smell the aroma of dog. Took a wet wipe and wiped it on the floor and sure enough it came up covered in white dog fur! Along with more than a dozen flies and one rather large spider. Friendly staff. But I wouldn't stay here again.

    « Clean »

Clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but we were there for a riding with our motorcycles. Small rooms but it was ok. Toilets very small and need to be upgraded. Cheap but it was fine. Dry town and nothing here so bring your choice of drink!!!!

« Extremely clean and comfortable »

We stayed here on a fall foliage trip and it was a wonderful choice! The room was exceptionally clean, and the bed was very very comfortable! In fact had the best night's sleep I've had in quite some time! The staff was very congenial and offered all kinds of information on places to see. The breakfast was very good, consisting of waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, toast and jelly, rolls, bagels, cereal, fruit. More than enough for a great selection! The rate was $80 and higher than one trip advisor search revealed, but it was still below average to some in the area.

    « An eleven on a scale of 1 to 10 »

Stayed overnight on 9/26/16. Completely renovated. Very nice rooms. Extra clean and very comfortable beds. Manger was very friendly and helpful. We have a small pet and she gave us room that was very private. Don't hesitate to stay here. You'll be happy you did

« Outstanding visit for our group »

We had 19 people at the Best Western Sherwood Inn for the last week, and the visit couldn't have been better. Kim and her crew were outstanding. Rooms were comfortable, the breakfast served was quite good. I had stayed there before with another group and booked there this time based on that experience. Everyone in our group thanked me for the hotel choice. Thanks Kim for making me look good ;)

« Renovated very nicely. Friendly. Clean. »

Building has the structure design of a 1970s hotel, but has been very very nicely renovated to have the same decor, furnishings, and fixtures of a new Best Western. Comfy beds, clean air quality, clean hotel, quiet. Friendly desk staff, even late night, and since I was leaving early before breakfast time, they gave me some oatmeal packets and fruit to have in my room so I could start the travel day with some food.

« Excellent bed and soft towels »

Good location, smaller room with appropriate furniture, comfy bed and excellent towels. It's the little things that matter. A/C ran all night because it was muggy outside. I would definitely stay here again. WE ate at the pasta restaurant by the motel and it was tasty!

« A Very Good Place To Stay »

The room was big and was very nice. It was clean. The beds were good and comfortable. The breakfast choices were numerous. The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.

« Nice place to stay »

Enjoyable staff, good breakfast & very clean rooms. Lobby was very nice. Check in was easy. The beds were outstanding. I will definitely stay there again. Trip Advisor requiring 200 characters in this review for it to be posted is a pain!!

    « Basic--But Better »

room #112 King N/S This is an older style motel, with the first floor rooms of the "park in front of your room" type. The check-in lady was very nice and especially helpful as she made an excellent restaurant recommendation and also left her "post" to help with a troublesome tv. The room was clean, ammenities basic but all there, furnishings a bit worn, small pillows, good bed, minimum towels, no lounge chair, good A/C. The business center had only one computer & one chair. Motel near interste, several restaurants & state nature trail. Exterior had refurbished sidewalks and pool area.

    « Wonderful Hotel »

Everything was perfect here. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good. Free wi-fi, comfortable beds, quiet rooms, even smoking rooms available! Everything was simply outstanding.

    « Recommend this one »

Everything was extra clean as looked like a remodel had taken place not long ago. The only thing that needed attention was the beds were very clean but they were sagging some in the middle. Other than the sagging bed I would recommend this motel over others in Clarksville as we have stayed in others there,

« Nice hotel but lousy desk service and truck noise all night. »

We booked our room ahead and asked for a ground floor room with parking in front of our door since we are seniors. There were lots of downstairs rooms available with parking by the door but the desk clerk refused to give us one. She said she had only one downstairs room for us and it turned out to be the only room where we could NOT park by our door and had to carry our luggage down a long walkway. Additionally there was a liquid nitrogen truck parked outside our door which had a noisy vent which operated all night. My husband asked for a different room and was told all downstairs rooms were taken but we definitely counted many empty rooms and lots of empty parking places downstairs. The clerk knew about the noisy truck parked outside our room and she knew we were seniors but she was just lazy and didn't want the bother. Our large room was clean and very nicely furnished but the toilet wobbles very badly (room 115). Price was average for Best Western. We will not return and cannot recommend.

« Typical Best Western, just fine for us. »

Our room was average, nothing special but just fine. When our granddaughter took a shower the water somehow (guess it was really hot out, we had the room door open a lot, the steam from the shower) the water looked like it was leaking for the ceiling. It did not take long, but by the time she yelled at us, the bathroom ceiling was dripping everywhere, everything in the room was sopping wet, and we all thought there was a leak from the room above. Desk help went to check, but nothing. They said it had not happened before, were very nice but at 11 PM we were mopping the room, throwing away all the paper, getting new towels, etc.

« So So For Sherwood »

Not good...not horrible. Mattress was awful but it looked like many other rooms were just getting new mattress and updates. Maybe by the end of summer all rooms will be completed and the place will be really nice. Best Western does seem to be trying to fix up their hotels. Others on the trip have been pretty nice, upgraded.

    « Average Plus »

Small room with a couple of problems. AC needs repair...stuck on high cool, so we were either freezing with it on or too hot with it off. Plus a slow drain in the tub/shower (which is a common problem in hotels). Would have rated it higher if not for the problems since despite the size of the old hotel rooms, they have been nicely remodeled and do a lot of small details right.

    « Another Great Stay »

We, and a group of friends, stayed at this motel for the second time in a couple of years. We travel by motorcycle & it was the perfect place to base our day trips. The rooms are clean & well equipped. The desk staff are courteous & quite helpful. If we're in this area again we will definitely stay here.

« Still a nice place to stay. »

Stayed here for the second time while in Clarksville again. Still a nice place to stay. Clean comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and a nice breakfast set up. Would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.

« This Motel is a Good One »

My wife and I agree that this motel is excellent. The staff is very courteous and polite. The exterior of the motel, the building and grounds are very appealing. The rooms, although a bit small, are very clean. The pool and spa are great. We would stay again.

    « Friendly Staff »

I always stay at this motel when passing through. The clerks know me by name and are very friendly. The night clerk is the same person on the days I come through and is always very helpful. The rooms are always clean and the location is right off the interstate.

    « Great Room »

Our room was very clean and nice. In room amenities include a refrigerator, coffee pot, hair dryer, and flat screen TV. The pool was great. We went for an evening swim and had the pool all to ourselves. There's also a hot tub for those who prefer hot water. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The only issue we had was the toilet needs to be tightened down to the floor and the seat tightened. Its a little bity toilet and you feel like you are on the floor. lol However, I did not request a handicapped room which would have taken care of the itty bitty toilet issue. Our worker this time, Anna, was awesome. She was helpful and very nice.

    « Good Stay »

This hotel was a stop over on our way to Florida and it filled the bill. The bed was wonderful as are all Best Western beds. The breakfast was good with several hot items. The only problem we had was the toilet was very small and my husband is a large man-in fact it seemed like the size for a child. But overall not problems and I would probably stay there again.

« Good stay for the money »

We had no problems here......the staff was awesome and the room was clean. Good stay for the price. Safe area and pleasant company. Not the best we have ever stayed at and certainly not the worst. Good value stay..

    « Panhandlers Paradise »

Freaks, weirdo's, panhandlers and crack heads stay at this hotel. Stay away from room 119 or you will be asked if you can spare a few bucks in the parking lot as you unload your luggage like I was. If you ride, your bikes may not safe. They did give me my money back but now I had to look for another hotel at 8 pm, not happy. The clerk seemed nice enough. She knew exactly why I was leaving as this has happened before! Stay FAR away from this place, you've been warned!

    « Great »

Great room except for all the flies! Exterior was pleasant, lobby was being updated but no problem, parking at door was good, bed comfy, large vanity is always good, dining close by was Italian, Mexican, or American. We had Mexican and it was delish! Would stay here again!

« nice stay was for wedding trip »

nice stay good for money, was trip for nieces wedding service was good staff friendly, very pleased with the room as well would have been nice to have had microwave in room though other than that no complaints except right outside pool and very noisy til pool closed

    « BW Sherwood »

We needed t stay between Fort Smith and Little Rock and this met that need. The property has a good pool and hot tub, but it's also going thru renovations, so the lobby was dusty, with bare floors. Rooms were average. I think the property is non-smoking. We have respiratory issues and especially with cigarette smoke, but the next morning 3 maids were sitting in the staircase where we had to walk, smoking. 5 times in about 10 minutes we walked thru them, until finally they moved - maybe their break was over?

    « Family business »

My wife and I traveled from Montana to see family and conduct some business here. The motel was undergoing some renovations but that didn't deter the desk staff from being very friendly and helpful. We spent three nights here. It was clean and quiet. The chamber of commerce told us that Clarksville T shirts could be bought here. With that my wife just had to get one. While they said this was the last time that they would do so, the young lady behind the desk spent time helping my wife pick one out. Not a big fan of fried eggs I still had them and waffles for breakfast. Not home cooked but still good. I would stay here again.

« Good place for the money. »

The place was clean, safe and we'll staffed. Rooms looked like they had been remodeled. No problems here. We would stay here again. Easy access to interstate. Grounds were well kept and cleaned by friendly staff.

« Great place with friendly staff, good maid service, great management »

I'm part of a motorcycle group that stays here twice a year. With up to 26 riders this year, it's almost impossible to not have someone complain about something. Just doesn't happen here. Kim, the manager, takes such good care of us. She's great. We even met the owner this trip. He met with our group and asked what he could do to make our stay even better. How often does that happen? NEVER! Nice, clean rooms with good beds and pillows. Food? Italian on one side, Mexican on the other. Great access to AR twisty roads, and the Fwy for going home. We have zero plans of staying anywhere else.

« Wonderful Place To Stay »

The workers are sweet and helpful. The only issue is Rooms 106 and 107. The above rooms seem to have issues with the floor joists over these lower rooms. My spouse is a disabled vet and has to have a bottom room. When anyone walks over the floor anywhere in the rooms above 106 and 107 it is a continuous squeak - enough to wake us up at 2:15 and ruin a nights sleep. We will request not to be put in these rooms on our next stay.

« Great place to stay for Motorcycling »

We have a group that trailers up our motorcycles from Houston twice per year and we always stay at this location. The hotel is in great shape, they continue to add upgrades, and the rooms are always very clean. At the end of the day, our group tends to congregate outside and they have never given us a problem. This is a great location for motorcycling as within 10-15 minutes of the curvy roads. The manager (Kim) is also outstanding! She is always accommodating to our needs.

    « Reliable for a pleasant stay.....but...... »

My group (usually 4 - 10) stay at the Best Western when visiting Arkansas for a long motorcycle weekend. We base out of Clarksville and ride much of the northwestern Arkansas area coming back to the motel each night to refresh and then make our way to one of the great restaurants around the area. The rooms are always well kept, the cleaning crew does an excellent job of tidying up each day and the breakfast area is well stocked, well managed and general does the job for us. Very Nice....!!! HOWEVER.....on more than one occasion over the past year we have been unable to use the hot tub by the pull due to a "broken" pump or some such issue. This is completely unacceptable. Best Western needs to treat the hot tub as a priority and do WHATEVER it takes to get that fixed. It sat empty and broken during the entire time of our visit. I made it clear to the desk that I was upset about it. The motel was practically full, so they have guests that expect this feature to be available. There are spa equipment supply stores and repair facilities within an hour's drive. This being part of why we stay at the BW we expect it to be working.

« Beautiful resting place on a long trip »

This quiet hotel was a welcome retreat after a long drive; offering numerous options for a great meal, and close to every thing. Friendlt staff and well maintained facility. Even a great view and setting Will definitely be back.

« Clarksville, Ar. Best Western »

Everything in this hotel can be rated excellent, except the breakfast. It was the usual 'paper eggs', greasy meat & cold bread. No worries, there's a McDonald's nearby. Having said that, the hotel was clean & comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful.

  • 5
    « Excellent! »

It was excellent! The room exceptionally clean. Very friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable. Which means so much when traveling. My two dachshunds were not treated like a problem at all. A very nice walking area for them. Would definitely stay there again.

« Clean, new, and comfortable »

Ah...a comfortable (non saggy) bed and very quiet room was just the thing as we stopped on our driving trip east. Our non-smoking room even smelled fresh and new. We would stay here again! Breakfast was standard best western fare and we were able to have our bran flakes and banana as enough were put out. The eating area was also clean.

« We were treated like royalty! »

We stayed for two nights while participating in the Arkansas Run for the Fallen. The hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate our large group and our needs. Kudos to all and thank you for hosting us!! The rooms were clean, the housekeeping staff went out of their way, the front desk staff was so friendly. Very motorcycle friendly. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

    « treated like family »

My wife and I travel between TN and CA at least 3 or 4 times a year. when we're in the area and need a place to stay, we will always choose the Best Western Sherwood Inn at Clarksville, AR. The Staff is very helpful and professional. The rooms are always very clean and everything works well. Would be nice if they could add microwaves to the rooms, but no biggy. The breakfast that is served is always excellent and very fresh.

    « Great place »

This is a great place to stay when you are on the road! Rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel is pet friendly which is a plus for our family! It is easy to get to off of I40 and I have stayed here before. I will be staying here again in the future.

    « Sleepy Hollow »

If you are old enough to be driving to Florida in late February, this was probably the kind of motel where you remember your father unpacking the bags from the station wagon. The pool, of course, was the big attraction-- no waterslides, brochure racks or fitness room. The pool is still there and so, probably, is the Sherwood Inn-- how many motels actually name their places with such storybook names these days? You won't find a Magic Fingers mattress (enough with the road games), but I'm not sure why I found myself in Clarksville (okay, the name, too) or why Clarksville found itself here. The first thing they will tell you at the desk is that "it's a really small place," that means by my count a Shell Station, two restaurants and a Boy Scout Trail (more about the restaurants in a minute). But that will also tell you right up front that Clarksville is a place with no illusions (or pretensions) about what it is. Clarksville seems to have been bypassed by the New Money spread throughout the rest of the state, mainly from the flood of riches from superstores and chicken parts and that is not such a bad thing, at least for an overnight visitor. I think sometimes Trip Advisor Reviewers may be expecting too much from where we stay (and how much we are actually paying) like thinking they are at the Ritz when we are actually at Motel Six. So, the Sherwood Inn, like Clarksville itself, has just the done with what it has-- the motel itself is obviously an older property (pretty much like this reviewer), but someone is obviously taking loving care of it, updating and especially housecleaning, in such a welcoming and comfortable way-- even a desk and small work/dining table, in addition to a full refrigerator and modernized shower. It is simple, clean and secure-- up the hill from the highway, it is not a place where you have to sleep with one eye open on the parking lot. The front counter and breakfast staff are just friendly neighbors; no sense at all that the landlord might be counting the nightly take in Chicago. When a place is this likeable and well-cared for, you feel they can take care of you, too, if just for one night. As small as Clarksville is, there is a popular Mexican next door, and on the other side, a hugely popular place called the Pasta Grill, like Clarksville, not the most imaginative name, but something that tells you exactly what they offer-- wonderful, old style Italian dishes (even hand-made meatballs with the spaghetti sauce) along with roadhouse steaks, including a Prime Rib on weekends. By the way, the Prime Rib comes with a salad, baked potato and creamy vegetable side, along with home-made garlic bread slices and tomato sauce for well under $20. Even your dad might have been impressed.

« Sherwood Inn, Clarksville, Arkansas »

A great place to stay! Staff is exceptional and rooms are nice and very clean. Location is convenient to I-40 and is easy to get to from the interstate. Rates were more reasonable than at other Best Westerns we have stayed at.

« Best Western Clarksville, Ar »

Overall this is a very nice motel with a very good and friendly staff. The only downfall I had with this motel was the lack of a microwave in the room. I spend 95 percent of the year on the road working and I normally eat in my room to save expenses.

    « Convenient Layover »

On a long road trip, we chose this Best Western because of its location along our route, and its modest nightly rate. Property wise, this Best Western falls under a motel style, with outdoor entrances and typical rear located bathrooms. Access off of the interstate was easy, and parking was easy with plenty of space and maneuverability. Room wise, the king room had all the basic features, including fridge, computer desk, WiFi, and chair. This Best Western did seem to be an older motel, but the level of updates and renovations to the rooms and rest of the building was extensive and very complete. A good breakfast in the morning with waffles was offered. The lobby was under renovations at the time, but still functional. In the area, chain fast food restaurants seemed to be predominate, but there was an excellent family restaurant located next door called the Pasta Grill, on Rogers street. Our overall experience was satisfying, and we did not have any issues worth mentioning.

    « Best Western review »

I'd give the 3 Best Western hotels , that I stayed in , last week, during my trip from the west coast to TN., as being clean, well maintained and the service was Great. The lobby staff were all greeted me with a warm Hi and did a great job. The morning breakfast was fine for a traveler. The breakfast at all three Best Western Hotels was basically the same, which is fine to know in advance . Overall I gave each one a 10.

  • 5

The front desk staff was so courteous and helpful to us. Helped us move from upstairs to downstairs when our 3 yr old granddaughter decided to spend the night with us and neither me nor my spouse could carry her upstairs. She had us switched in a heartbeat. We love her! The only glitches were the construction issues, had to go through a baby shower to get to the lobby to check in, spouse had an allergic reaction to something used in the cleaning of the sheets, and the toilet was wiggly when you sat on it. This in itself was laughable...sure put us on our balancing game!

« Very nice people quiet location »

I stayed here two nights on business. Clean room friendly staff. After my first day breakfast my key card would not work for my room. Notified front desk staff she told me the batteries probably went dead. I forgot my phone in the room and needed it. Long story short they had to disassemble the door lock mechanism she called me when the had my phone. They could not apologize enough The problem was solved with the lock after a couple of hours I will definitely return.

« Could not ask for a better place to stay »

We have stayed here before and would not consider any other place if in this area. This is the cleanest motel that we have ever stayed in. The breakfast is always good and the staff is the nicest we have ever dealt with. The only thing we could suggest is different pillows. They were just not up to par, BUT otherwise we could not ask for a better stay

    « BW Sherwood, Arkansas »

The Best Western staff were kind and friendly. Seemed to always smile and were cheerful - but not overly so. The rooms were clean and decent. The rooms could use a bit of updating; but the beds were quite comfortable.

« I've been staying here since I was a kid. And still do! »

We have relatives in Clarksville. Over the years, I've stayed in the Sherwood Inn a number of times. When I was a boy, it was the "hotel with the pool." That was a very big deal to boys from high and dry Kansas. In recent years, my wife and I choose the Sherwood Inn for our yearly Christmas visit. The building itself is nostalgic in construction, feeling more like a pleasant 1950s motor inn. This feeling is magnified by the lobby, with its vaulted ceiling and centrally located piano. You know, there's nothing better than stretching your fingers on the ivories after a long day with them wrapped around the steering wheel after a death race on I-40. Our rooms have always been clean and fresh, with modern enough electronics and furnishings. The coffee/maker in the room is good enough. The king size bed is super comfortable and clean (my wife checks) and the pillows are soft and supportive. Oh, the lamps are actually great. I'm particular about my lamps. These are good ones. Sometimes the nicest places have the worst lamps. I'm talking function as well as form here. These look nice and modern and ours had dual switches, for brightness adjustment. And I think there were three or four of them in the room. The couch and table were great too. We did have a sticky door handle (as in the locking mechanism was sticky, not like it had syrup on the handle). But it wasn't enough of a nuisance to mention, hence why I forgot to tell them about it when we checked out. And of course, the best part is how pet friendly the place is. It's very affordable (pet-fee-wise), and they have a cute dedicated doggie poop spot behind the building. Although, in truth, I guess the one thing that would make the place better, from a dog owner's perspective, is a bit more area for doggie walking. I know it's not Best Western's job to provide fields of posies for my dogs to poop in, I'm totally reaching here. Oh, we had DOUBLE Hershey kisses in our room. Thanks, cleaning staff! For the active types, there's a great running trail (Spadra Creek trail) right across the road behind the abandoned Wendy's. It's been an abandoned Wendy's for years. It looks super sketch, but it isn't. I remember when it had the SuperBar. I would get corkscrew pasta with nacho cheese sauce on it and bacon bits. The trails back there are great for running, dog running, or mountain biking. The trail is also a great way to walk downtown along Spadra Creek. My wife told me to take out the part about the Sketchy Former Wendy's, but I knew that if I saw the SFW I'd think the trails behind it were equally sketchy. Not true. Also, there's another Wendy's like a golf's swing down the road, so I didn't want people going behind the wrong Wendy's and thinking I'm a moron for recommending they go jogging through a truck stop parking lot. The Waffle House across the road, as of this writing, was really good. I've eaten at more Waffle Houses than most folks, and this is a good one. I was told there's a really good truck stop called SouthPark across I-40. It was closed for the holidays while we were in town. The Italian joint next door is supposed to be good too, per the recommendations of the staff. We always feel comfortable and safe when we stay at the Sherwood Inn, and would recommend it to anyone.

    « Best Best Western - Handsdown! »

Would highly recommend the Best Western Sherwood Inn in Clarksville, Arkansas, to anyone. Everything about it was exceptional from the time we checked in until we checked out. No complaints here at all. The entire staff was great!

« Passing thru- found sanctuary »

Spent the night here and very pleased. I had read reviews but we never heard traffic noise or other guests. Stayed in 2nd floor room and kept fan on as white noise, just like I would have done at home. Breakfast was also good- fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, toast.

« Great stay at Best Western Sherwood in Clarkesville AR »

Everything was great about our stay. The evening check-in clerk even asked us if we wanted to roll our motorcycle under the roof to avoid getting our motorcycles and gear wet, and having to unload our gear.

« Great Price and Very Comfortable!! »

Location was a huge reason in selecting this Best Western, but it definitely paid off!! The staff was wonderful!! The room was very, very clean. We never heard the other guests, which was an added bonus. The price was spectacular!

    « Very nice accommodations ! »

    « Quiet & Comfortable »

We wanted quiet (no freeway noise) and we got it. There was a little local traffic noise but no more than at home. The other guests appeared to be working local construction but they, too, were quiet and so a restful night was had by all.

« Terrific Value, Quality Experience »

This is a good value, in a area that doesn't necessarily have a lot of good hotel/motel properties. The motel is conveniently located to the Interstate. I have seen some complaints online about noise from the road, but where we were it was not a problem at all. The Sherwood is clean, comfortable and has a great staff. Customer service was outstanding. The breakfast is more than adequate and better than many other motels these days. The rooms, including the bathrooms were clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this motel if you are in the area and need a place to stay.

    « Very Surprised!!! »

I have never stayed at a Best Western before. I was so tired that I just decided to stay. I am a Platinum Marriott and Diamond Hilton Honors member. So I was going to use points to stay at one of those chains. This was the only hotel I could find and I gave it a try. It was 2 am and the guy on duty was extremely nice and helpful, he even talked me into signing up for rewards with them, but made it seamless for me to do so. I was in and out of the lobby in 5 min! Got to the room perfect, smelled great, looked and felt clean and bed was very comfortable!

    « Pet friendly »

The personnel was very pleasant and helpful. Check in and out was easy. The rooms had been renovated and were very nice. Slept very well. I would recommend this hotel. They really are pet friendly. They even had a special place for our guy to do his "business". A fire hydrant for the city dog and a tree stump for the country dog.

« Better than sleeping in your car. Depending on the type of car you have »

Clearly a distraction to have to check in. Front desk was busy with her own activities. Toilet was clogged up the next morning. Person at front desk said they would let house keeping know when we check out. Not good with a family in the room. So she gave us a plunger to fix it. Breakfast is bad. Cold biscuits, fake eggs, gravy like colored water. It's also on a busy road with a steep hill so all night diesel trucks are screaming to get up it. It's an older hotel with all rooms facing the exterior parking lots so if you have children don't let them wonder around.

    « A little noisey »

Have relation in the area so we have stayed here before and it was a little noisy but gave it another chance on this trip. There must have been a traveling circus group up stairs but other than that it is a great place to stay with a very resonable price. The pool U& hot tub have recently been refurbished & are very nice. Their breakfast ti a treat too.

« Great Place to Stay! »

From the very beginning Kim made our reservation and told my wife all about the hotel. The young lady at the desk was when we checked in was great too! The rooms were very clean, the complementary breakfast was good and this hotel is also pet-friendly.

    « great »

I stay at the Sherwood every tome I go see my kids and grand son and they do everything possible to make us happy right down to letting my little grandson play their piano and they have the personilty that makes you want to stay with them again and the price is reasonable

« Pleasant Stay; Great Value! »

We had two rooms for our stay; they were right next to each other. The staff was friendly and helpful when we had a request. Breakfast was quite nice; hot breakfast not just continental. If/when we return to Clarksville, hands down, this is where we will stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we all slept very well.

« Clean and friendly lodging, reasonably priced »

We have stayed here before, and have been pleased. This isn't a "three star" hotel, but it's very nice, and reasonably priced. The staff has been friendly and helpful when we needed things. The building is an older style motel, with the rooms opening outside. The management has done a great job maintaining it, however, so the room appointments are quite nice, and the decorative pea gravel on the walking surfaces looks very good. I especially like the fresh decor and appointments in the rooms. Every desk lamp has two outlets, our carpet was immaculate, and the sink counter top looked quite new. The mattress was firm but comfortable. The room smelled fresh. The checkboxes below this review asked about great views -- if you look past the freeway and its attendant clutter, the meat and fruit processing plants, the random parking lots and such nearby, the hills and forests around Clarksville are quite beautiful. Clarksville itself is a nice friendly town, and the walking trail through the city is quite nicely done. This past weekend the motel was completely full due to events in the area, but once we were in our room we weren't disturbed. We enjoyed the breakfast both mornings, as it was reasonably fresh and they had fine things to eat, including fresh fruit, milk cold cereal, instant oatmeal, juice, biscuits and gravy (or sausage the other morning), scrambled eggs, bread, bagels, and of course regular and decaf coffee, and a small assortment of tea (no herbal or decaf options there). Oh, and they have one do-it-yourself waffle maker, with reasonably good mix available. The lobby area is quite nicely decorated, and I was surprised its furnishings include a grand piano. I don't know if folks ever sit around playing it; I didn't hear it to know if it's even in tune. If I had to find fault anywhere with the motel itself, the second floor ice machine was broken, and my spouse couldn't get the latch to open on the first floor laundry/vending room, then elected to not bother the staff and did without. Hopefully that has been fixed by the time you read this. Clarksville isn't a fine restaurant kind of town, but the Pasta Grill next door has reasonably good Italian style food, South Park (just across the freeway) has good diner food, and El Molcajete (at the intersection of Hwy 64 and Rogers Ave) has good freshly prepared Mexican food. If fast food restaurants suit you, there are plenty of those nearby, too. If you need something you forgot, WalMart is just over the freeway, and you might have a look at Atwoods (large farm-oriented department store about a quarter mile toward town) as it has a surprising range of goods available. There are a few stores and restaurants downtown, too. Clarksville does have a small movie theater, but it's across town, near the I-40/Hwy 64 Clarksville exit.

    « College Tour »

The lady was very sweet when we checked in for our reservations. Room was very neat and clean, smelled fresh. The breakfast was good and they a variety of food. I would recommend this hotel. We were here for a college tour and came in late at night and everything was fine. We had to rise early so we did not check out the view of the rooms.

    « Very nice Inn »

It was a very 'old' inn, made into a Best Western -! We were very pleased. .. but it was way overpriced, and the location was VERY / unusually noisy ! Best Westerns are known for their ability to pick out good locations ...! They seemed very 'picky' ..with innuendos regarding 'taking towels' / so 'here is a paper one to help you on your way'...and even darker towels so that makeup wouldn't spoil their white towels. I sort of don't blame them on that -but one felt nickel and dimed --- envelopes for tips in the room and in the dining room -- very unusual. BUT it met our needs -- even if the chambermaid went banging on doors with a cigarette puffing smoke in each room. STILL -- it met our needs.
