Quick and efficient check in, with the hotel location just out of the distance of the I-5 Hwy traffic noise. Breakfast included is always good with a cook making your eggs, any style, right in front of you. The hotel rooms are a bit worn but we were there just to rest our tired bodies.
Clean, the most comfortable bed - like a cloud! A delicious breakfast with an amazing chef who made the best egg dishes ever - and to your preference! Many hot and cold breakfast choices. Absolutely wonderful AND real dishes - not paper! A very efficient courteous kind helpful front desk. The very best motel I have ever stayed in.
My husband and I booked this hotel for our son, future daughter n law and some of their friends for their wedding weekend. Everyone was very happy with how comfortable the beds were. Great location, breakfast service, and it is located near quick bites.
Staff are friendly and the room was clean. But there are limited places to eat and the rooms are overpriced and cramped. Not the expected quality expected of a “BW Plus”. Over $200 really too much for this place. I selected this motel because it is listed as a “Plus” which normally means a better experience. The people smoking pot on only made it worse.
Loved the stay pool needs to be warmer but all and all it was really great.bed was comfy.Very quiet.Nice area for pets. When I called the front desk they were right on it.Very sufficient..The shower was excellent. Nice and roomy.lots of parking spaces .
Beds were soft, pillows fluffy, guest chair stained and dirty, desk chair didn't fit under desk-table so it stuck out in walkway to the door, closet rail off track and I couldn't get it back on, safe on floor - hard to access without laying down on floor. only one pod of regular coffee in bathroom. Kitchen doesn't open till 7AM. Breakfast had few options, but omelette cook Sergio was great!
Customer service is always top notch. Very friendly staff and very clean rooms. They also offer the best breakfast of any Best Western.
This motel provided what we needed for an overnight stop on the way from California to northern Oregon: clean, quiet, close to the freeway, two free electric car charging stations (one Tesla, one other kind), and allows cats. Not all "pet-friendly" hotels do. They have outdoor tables and chairs that would be nice for eating breakfast at if the weather were nice. (It was cold when we were there June 1.) They don't allow you to take any dishes from the breakfast - which I can understand, but it would be helpful if they would provide paper plates/plastic utensils. As it was, I put my oatmeal in a paper coffee cup and luckily found a plastic spoon in the car. They've gone all-in on the lumber motif with the faux log cabin exterior and the room décor consisted of photos of dead trees (piles of freshly cut logs). Pretty standard room, nice to have a bathroom window that opens.
Clean and comfortable room, breakfast was excellent. The only issue was someone had ran over and damaged the only Tesla charger and the other 2 weren't functioning either but other than that it was a great overnite stay. Would stay there again.
Overall my experience was enjoyable and pleasant. Clean and comfortable room. Freshly cooked breakfast every morning!
This place was so clean and staff was so friendly. The breakfast was made in front of you with big variety. I will definitely stay there again!!!
Good location. Friendly and professional staff. Great cooked-to-order breakfast. Only negative was the lumpy bed. I would have given a 5 star if not for the lumpy bed. A good stop for traveling from California to Washington as a half way spot.
Booked thru Expedia, no problems, great cooked to order breakfast as well as other choices at the breakfast bar - quite area right off I5. Lots of trash around the hotel - all outside cans were full & overflowing - looked like a big weekend party that had not been cleaned up on Monday.
Older motel right off I5 that is spectacularly maintained. Room and bed was comfortable. Everything was clean and hotel had a decent best western breakfast. The swimming facilities were great and separate from the motel building so there was no issues with noise(from the pool, freeway or otherwise).
For the area this can rate as a 4. Reasonably priced with all the necessities for a place to stay in Sutherlin. For the room, our main concern was the air conditioner. For the bathroom, washroom exhaust has no timer and it seems lined incorrectly with the lighting. A thorough clean of their aircondition and carpet for all their rooms may be needed. Breakfast was included in the booking. Ordering hot breakfast was a bit confusing and no mix of request allowed. The dining room seems to have no cooking exhaust fan installed in the dining/cooking nook area. After breakfast, the smell of fried food stick to our clothing. It would be nice if there is an option to allow guest to bring breakfast to their room. No major issues encountered. Plenty of parking for the guest and staff are all hardworking. Simple hotel with a mountain view. Just need a bit of improvement. Other amenties, we were not able to use. Overall, we had a place to sleep, a safe area to stay, free parking and wifi in Sutherlin.
We were a family in 3 rooms for 1 night. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the rooms, comfortable beds and nice breakfast options (including made to order omelets). The pool is warm and open to midnight but the hot tub doesn't work (which we were not notified of in advance!). Overall I would stay again but ask in advance if all the amenities are in working order.
The place was clean and the staff were wonderful! They even called me later and let me know I had left a laptop charger behind, I thought it was super kind of them!
There is one person responsible for this review, the general manager Crystal. Every single other person employed by this location is a GEM, especially Miranda and Marshall. LONG story short, this hotel is woefully unprepared for visitors. The night of my stay they were sold out. I have issues regulating body heat. Upon arrival at 7:45pm with two rescue dogs I was driving from Seattle to Los Angeles the temperature in our West facing room was over 85 degrees. The a/c worked for about three minutes and turned off. I asked for a fan. The hotel didn't have one. The night manager found one God-only-knows-where that was super crunked up but worked so yeah. A techician was recalled to the property and he reset the a/c but there was no change....it worked for a few minutes and then quit. The tech would have been willing to keep trying but it was 930 now and I was overwrought and needed to shut down. I took the dogs out for a walk around the perimeter. There is a long outside corridor with foot and 1/2 tall bushes in intervals. In an attempt to step aside and let other dogs pass, I caught my foot under a dead bush that was the exact same color as the rocks below it. I projectiled over the bush and faceplanted in the gutter. My entire right side was massively bruised. My wrist badly sprained. A rib was bruised. Both knees swollen. I went into my room to secure the dogs and get my phone to video the walkway with the same lighting. Wrapped myself in ice and went to sleep. Next morning I brought the bush to the attention of maitenance and they promptly removed the offending bush. I shwed the video to the front desk and she said the manager would call me. Crystal walked past me and yelled that she had to clean the rooms and would call me. Really? ok. So when Crystal finally does call me I start to tell her about my stay and she interupts me and says that she smelled marijuana in my room. Which is legal in Oregon. I asked Crystal to clarify the reason for her call.....are you calling to complain about me? to which she responded YES. Nice try trying to make me look like I was under the influence. The only influence I was under was heat and inconvenience. I will be contacting a lawyer. Save yourself, don't stay here.
place needs updating--carpeting, art on walls, coffee, tea, hot-tub, landscaping. All these need updating and need to be greener, more generous, and healthy. Back lot needs to be made into a garden and park. It is depressing to look at out the back. The front is depressing with its huge, blazing hot blacktop. Plant more trees. Plant trees along the access road to block noise from I-5.
The king size bed was somewhat comfortable. The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was superb. Hats off to the chef that cooks your potatoes and eggs. We even had a lady wait on us like a waitress and came and cleaned off our table for us. We most certainly will be back. We usually stay in hotels, but this is a refurbished motel.
This place was great! Super clean, comfortable rooms! Customer service friendly and helpful. Breakfast very fresh and plentiful. Very pleased we stopped here! Turns out, the few places in town to eat at, we had once of the best pizza's we've had ever!
My husband and I are in the middle of a move from CA to WA and got tired after about 8 hours of driving and started looking for a hotel. This one came up in my app. We decided to give it a try and are so glad we did. Great desk staff. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Great breakfast.
The hotel staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Starting with the front desk where Jessica went out of her way to accommodate a change in reservation time when a winter storm made us change our travel dates, through the chef and waitress at the hotel “cafe” who made us a delicious free breakfast. We did not get a chance to use the indoor pool and hot tub, but plan to do so at our next visit. The breakfast cafe had not only a good selection of cereals, yogurt, bagels and fruit, but also hot freshly made waffles and biscuits and gravy. Better yet, there was a cooking station where a chef prepared made to order omelettes, country potatoes and pancakes. This went way beyond the standard free motel breakfast! In addition, the hotel offers free use of either of two level 2 electric car chargers. We were able to charge our car to 100% overnight right there in the parking lot as we slept. The room facilities are getting a little worn around the edges, while being perfectly comfortable. Whenever we come this way, this is where we will stay!
Rooms were spotless, customer service was pleasant, and breakfast was above and beyond when it comes to complimentary breakfast. The chef cooks the food in front of you with many healthy options. He so kindly made my kids surprise shaped pancakes. Everything was fresh, we saw fresh produce, real eggs etc. SO good.
Pet friendly, good beds, EV charging station, complimentary breakfast of buffet AND on site chef to do eggs your way. Will stay again next year on our round trip from Seattle to Palm Springs. If you need an EV charge check to be sure they have an adapter available for non Tesla vehicles.
Very comfortable and clean room. Nice cooked breakfast. Easy to find, lost of restaurants and stops nearby, easy back on the freeway. No elevator. Plenty of parking. Watch out for the deer and cats near the parking lots at nighttime!
It's a tired hotel but served it's purpose. Needs a little updating and better cleaning but is truly a good place to stop along the way. Very quiet and bed was comfortable. Noticed 2nd queen was kind of sunk in the middle but we only needed one of the two. Do we obviously chose the other. Very average hotel but best for the $$ in that area. Pool was fine, not freezing. Omelette was great but you get a piece of paper that gives you the choice of eggs or pancakes. Sausage, no bacon. You can make your own waffles easily and had fruit, yogurt, biscuits and gravy available. I would stay again for a night.
We stayed one night. We got in a little late. Check in was easy., The lady that checked us in was great. room was very nice and quiet. breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Pool and hot tub was a great addition but we didn't get a chance to use them because all we wanted to do was get some sleep
We have stayed at this hotel several times before this experience, and although it has always been a pleasant time, it has improved over the years. I need more characters so will just add that we would highly recommend this hotel.
We were driving from Washington to California and found this place as a nice halfway point. The outside of the hotel was nice, it kind of looks like a ski lodge. The inside was clean and cozy. We were excited about the hot tub, but it was not working during our visit. The pool was disgusting, my children (7 and 9) jumped in for about 10 minutes and left with chunks of long dark hair wrapped around them. The breakfast service is great, there was a person in the kitchen cooking up fresh meals.
Good stop on I-5 between CA and WA. A little pricey. Nice staff. Generally quiet. Great breakfast - they have a chef with an omelet bar. Have stayed here several times while on the road between California and Seattle.
Broken down tarpped car, large broken appliances directly outside bathroom window( looks like homeless lives there). Plugged toilet, broken sink, housekeeping skipped cleaning room. Not worth money. The front desk neglected to tell maintance our toilet was broken. Also after using all the towels cleaning up the floor, housekeeping never showed up. Had to empty our trash, put at door. After telling the front desk ( in am) our tier was working, he offered to hand ME a plunger to go fix it. We were leaving for the day. As it was we had to use the lobby bathroom , which had no had soap. He said he would let maintance know. We return 7 hours later? To find toilet not fixed. The maintance man said no one told him. I figured out why he never knew.. the maintance man was also the cook cooking breakfast in the morning. ( so he was probably busy!) The door keys didn't work several times, and I saw other guest with same problem. The bathtub is discusting, dirty outdated sticky non slip contact paper lined bathtubs. Needs to be redone. Ours was ripped up and dirty. You absolutely can not walk on carpet without shoes. Stained and dirty. The best part of hotel, is the breakfast. But be warned, he doesn't read your order, you get the eggs the way he wants to make them. Not worth the money in my opinion
The hotel breakfast was good, but other than that I probably would pass. House keeping forgot to clean our room, after the fact that our bathroom sink leaked all over floor and we had to use all the towels to clean it up. So had to go to front desk after a long day out to get trash taken out and new towels. The bathtub had half ripped outdated sticky non slip mat in tub. Didn't want to stand in tube. Also opened bathroom window and directly below a broken down, busted window car with half a tarp and broken fridges parked. Looked like a homeless camp. Toilet plugged the front desk clerk and he asked if I wanted him to get ME a plunger? I said no we were leaving. He said he would let maintenance know. He never told maintenance so when we came back to hotel in evening, toilet still not working. The maintenance man never was told. He came to our room to fix toilet and I was surprised. The maintenance man was also the cook in the morning. He carpets are disgusting also, and maybe the coffee machine in the room would be better than in the bathroom? It wasn't filthy but could use some tlc. Also the room key didn't work several times, and I saw other guest with same issues? Not terrible but not great.
Everything about or stay went well. Efficient check-in, clean room with mini-fridge and microwave. Pool and hot tub were well enjoyed by the grandkids. Make-to-order breakfast was great with omelettes and lots of other tasty options for breakfast.
Stay away from this location. I stayed here on July 1st. A BW Plus, this isn't one. Our room 122 was dirty , a light was out in bathroom and I couldn't wait to leave. I dropped something on the floor at night and when I went to find it under the bed, I found a ripped, dirty mattress and a vodka bottle!Obviously no one is cleaning thoroughly. I sent photos and asked for an adjustment on my bill - I've never heard back from General Manager Krystal Butterworth.
We have stayed here many times on our road trips to Oregon or Washington from California. We keep staying here because it's great!! Right off the freeway, some restaurants near by (not a lot, but ok) but most importantly, clean rooms, great friendly staff, great breakfast. Consistently good over 7 years …. will be staying there again soon!! Thank you for your excellent care and service!!!
We were extremely disappointed with this place. We thought that a hotel with the Best Western name and at the price they charged would have high standards however this place does not. We paid $225. for one night in this hotel which is mediocre at best. It isn't worth more than $125. per night. The furniture is dated and beaten up and the room had an odd odor of what seemed to be a heavy deodorizer. We wondered what odor they were trying to cover up. The room needed an overall update of furniture and fixtures. The front desk staff was pleasant and the breakfast was good however they closed the breakfast room 20 minutes early. Why? The place is adequate at $125. per night but highly overpriced at the $225. that we paid. My review is based on an overpriced run down room and my advice is to pass this place by.
This is a very nice place to stay. It is close to the freeway and quiet. Breakfast is excellent and choices are good. The poo; is quite large and separated from the rooms. Staff is very helpful and freindly.
The staff is wonderful. The rooms are very clean. The bed awesome. A top notch establishment. This is the perfect place to stay after a day of touring wineries. It's also very close to the Wildlife Safari.
I needed a good basic hotel for a road trip to Oregon -- accessible, reasonably priced and good service. This Best Western fit the bill and more. The staff were friendly and helpful and the made to order breakfast perfect.
We stayed in the Best Western in Sutherlin Oregon. The property is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay.
The staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast was decent, and it was nice to have an indoor heated pool/hot tub in the middle of Winter (although the hot tub could have been in better shape). This property/town also felt very safe compared to most other towns. The coffee stand next door makes a great cup off coffee for the way out of town.
Noisy motel vibe with your door at the parking lot. Mattress had a sink hole in the center. Poor ventilation, the room moisture is high to where all surfaces were wet to touch and possible mold issue with a string of bleach smell there was.
This property is best described as a hidden gem. Although from the Highway the Best Western Plus logo is very easy to recognize. The city where it is located appeared to be modest. We describe it as a Hidden Gem because is a beautiful cabin looking style property with charging stations that was surprisingly not noticeable. The true sparkle of this Gem radiates from the care and detail that the staff put into the cleanliness and care into the room that we stayed in. The towels were folded in beautiful designs. I wish we could upload a picture. Thank you for the care and efforts.
First, we are Diamond Select Best Western customers. We stay in Best Western hotels 25-50 nights a year. We have been Diamond Select for 4 or 5 years...so we have been in well over 100 Best Western facilities. This was our first stay at this hotel. We were traveling from Mesa, Arizona to Portland, Oregon. The facilities were great, everything was spotless (the lobby, room, dining room, etc). The bed was comfortable. These folks have a model program for the Best Western breakfast service. It was superb. With several cook to order options and a full breakfast bar, you leave satisfied. Major kudo's to the ownership, management and staff at this place. Located right off the I-5, ingress and egress are simple. I highly recommend using this hotel as your 'go-to' place when traveling in or through the Southern Oregon area.
Very pleased with our stay at this establishment. Very nice layout, well-maintained, and clean; enjoyed the wood paneling in room. Breakfast was excellent. All amenities worked well. Would recommend to my friends and family. A great find.
Have stayed here multiple times. Good location for us between our Bay Area friends & relatives and home (Seattle). Clean. Quiet. Good beds. Good shower. Great breakfast (eggs made to order). Easy to get to from I-5.
Extremely clean room! From sheets to bathroom. Cleanest room I have seen so far. Excellent staff. A cook to order breakfast, (choose one) eggs, omelette, pancake, side potatoes. Also waffles, cereal and basic breakfast items. The room we stayed in (2 queens) could've used a new mattress. There was a dip in the middle of one mattress, the other bed didn't have that. Other than that, great place to stay. Would stay again!
A comfortable, clean, inviting hotel. Breakfast is great. We have stayed here multiple times when we visit my parents. Its a great location. Convenient to restaurants, gas, and stores. Near a golf course and RV park
Right off of I-5. Super clean, great breakfast! Parking area was above average as well, lots of room, with ample spaces. Pool is enclosed, food right near by. Will make this a regular stop on my north/ south trips on the future.
This was a stop on the way to Portland. The room was quiet, clean and beds very comfortable. They had a fantastic made to order breakfast, yum! A fantastic Italian restaurant in walking distance with a discount for staying at the hotel. Lots of parking if you have an extra vehicle or trailer. Highly recommend!
Car was packed, even my roof rack had stuff with just a weather proof bag and staff assured me that it would be safe to leave it out there. She was right, no one messed with it. Breakfast was good but could be better.
Great Customer Service. Able to get a room the day of. Price vs location could have been a little better but overall it is a great location to stop and have a nice stay. Breakfast was included in the price of the room was wonderful. Breakfast was made to order which is a nice touch when you are traveling.
The room was ok needed a deep cleaning but the breakfast made up for it. You could get a buffet style breakfast or they had a cook which would cook a fresh breakfast to order. A great find. Lots of truckers and workers seem to same but was not noisy.
I've stayed a few times at this motel and it's a super value for a clean and comfy room. I didn't try the pool area. The breakfast was fabulous! They have a chef who makes a yummy scramble made to order or you can have waffles, cereals, biscuits and gravy and much more.
Nicely appointed rooms. Fresh finishes. Very large refrigerator with freezer compartment allowed me to re-freeze my cold packs for my cooler. I like the separate building for the enclosed pool. That definitely helps with noise. Hot breakfast cooked to order; get card from front desk to fill out your order.
0 stars if I could internet stars 4 to 5 filthy old musty rooms black mold comer's of tub musty smell old building air conditioner probably never maintained looks like from 70s it's loud dusty filth dust blows out, dirt behind beds and nightstand blood stain on top cover for comforter, old thin rag like towels and facecloths bath sink clogged disgusting when brushing teeth outlets in walls falling out old box on nightstand to plug charger kept falling out can hear everything upstairs a and outside thin walls left old 1/4 full toilet paper and one full one not wrapped concerning during Covid or any other time
This was a decent $100 motel room cost $170. Way too expensive for a cheap hotel experience. I enjoy staying at nice places and happy to spend $$$ when justified. This was simply an old fashioned motel that charged a very high rate. I was expecting something nice from the price....but was disappointed. The breakfast looked nice, but we were not able to sample it as we were breakfasting with others.
Couldn't be happier with what we got for the money with this hotel. Exceptionally clean, the housekeeping staff gets as high a rating as possible as far as I'm concerned. Check-in was fast and professional, lady at desk was extremely helpful.
Nice quiet place and lovely room, but breakfast is in a medium-sized room and no one wears masks, including food preparer chef for the omelets. No way to take out meal. No takeout containers. Forbidden by signage to remove anything from room, even if promise to bring it back. So those who are vulnerable to illness despite vaccines (older, immune-compromised, diabetic, cancer, organ transplant) had best bring their own food and not get full value for room. Chef was rude when I tried to engage him to ask if I could take anything out, even if bringing back dish. Said he was too busy to talk to me.
Last minute booking and wasn't disappointed. Comfortable bed, all amenities worked, loved the lit mirror. TV worked, AC worked, great breakfast. I snagged some ice for the cooler and got back on the road easily.
Predictable Best Western. Comfortable bed. A few Charging stations for EVs. Staff did a nice job managing the EV charging dynamics as they had more guests with EVs than charging stations. Breakfast cooked to order!
Decide to stay for the night, the desk clerk very friendly and helpful for the last minute travel stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. The food in the morning was great. It was nice to have all of the options.
Overall, this was a good place. The beds were comfortable and the staff was pleasant. However, it was not a pleasant stay as some people were put in the room above ours with children. These children for hours kept running and jumping all over the room; at times my room shook from their actions. This wasn't necessarily the total fault of Best Western as kids will be kids but manners and consideration for others would be an ideal trait for people to have.
I travel a lot and stay at many different brands and types of lodging. That said, I'm always a bit skeptical when staying at a facility with a room entrance from the outside. Not all are old, but many are and there's only so many coats of paint you can apply. The functionality, cleanliness, updated appointments are as good as any guest can expect. I was shocked. Usually there's a drain that doesn't drain, an iron that's not usable, HVAC noisy or just doesn't cool or heat enough, shower hot/cold handles close to coming off, etc. Not here. This room was fine tuned and comfortable. The staff was also professional, efficient and friendly. Can't ask for more than that.
The room was in dingy, needs new paint and maintenance in the bathroom. Poor ventilation in bathroom and sleeping area Meanwhile the exterior grounds and building look inviting. Nice people at the front desk.
The exterior of the building is attractive. The front desk staff was pleasant. The chef and staff in the cafe were good. The room was in dire need of renovation: needs painting throughout, carpet was old - needs replacement. Bathroom fixtures old, worn.
I actually slept well; I rarely sleep well at one night stop hotels. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly and thorough checkin. Cooked to order breakfast! Fridge and microwave in the room though the temperature control on the fridge was broken so everything froze. Maybe a tad spendy.
Very clean and comfortable rooms with helpful staff. Breakfast was cooked to order too. A can't miss. Every aspect of the hotel spoke to good training and involved management. Comfortable bed and quiet rooms.
This is a nice place. It's big and the rooms are spacious. It was very comfortable, although the desk chair was broken. There are not a lot of eating options in the area, fast food mostly. One downside: The guy that checked me in appeared to be bothered by my presence. I realized I had gotten him at the end of his shift as I unloaded my vehicle he was heading out. Honestly, he should have either toughed it out, or handed me off to one of the other 2 in the office. I don't like rude and he was just above the line that I would have said something.
a great stop in Sutherlin, OR. Its not quite half way from California border to Portland so a good rest location. Nice hotel, quiet, spacious rooms and friendly staff. Nice to have fresh cooked food in the morning instead of the typical hotel fare.
Great value for money, post Covid, very clean, all equipment functional, free wifi. great, cooked at request, eggs breakfast, very welcoming staff. Safe parking in front of window, easy on/off highway, but no highway noise.
The food was outstanding. Made to order and buffet. Check in was quick and friendly. I forgot my shower cap and the hotel had one. The morning staff was great. Loved the express check out. The room was clean and water pressure was great in the shower. Will stay there on the way home.
Would recommend staying at the Best Western . Rooms are clean and the staff are great. The hotel has an indoor pool and sauna. Your breakfast is included with the price of the hotel stay. You can order an omelet or eggs to order. They also have the basic items for breakfast.
This Motel has the best breakfasts ever. A cook makes the hot items for you including Omelettes! This is an older park in front of your room Motel but is in excellent condition! Loved our stay here! Will definitely come back!
This is our favorite Best Western. We've stayed here a few times. Nice facility done up in pretty wood, breakfast cooked fresh when you order it, and in a nice town. If you're not from Oregon, get some local Oregon berry preserves in the lobby while you're here.
This hotel is tucked in a corner of the small town of Sutherlin. It is charming and has all the extras, including an indoor pool. It is small, reasonably priced, and close to anything you need that the hotel does not provide.
So I have stayed in dozens of hotels and never had the forboding feeling I had staying here in the room I was in. I feel bad to say because the hotel is totally fine and decent but something weird has happened there either in that specific room or the hotel itself. I could probably never stay here again just because it was seriously very ominous and scary like it was haunted or there was a dark being there If you don't believe in this stuff of course disregard my review as utterly ridiculous but if you do believe and are susceptible you may be affected by it.
Phenomenal stay. Clean, comfortable, and quiet. Outstanding breakfast bar with a live chef preparing made-to-order omelets, breakfast sandwiches, and big, fluffy pancakes. Warm and friendly staff, super easy check-in and check-out.
We were in search of a pet friendly hotel. Pricey at $20.00 per pet, however overall value of room rate was good. Nice grassy pet area right outside pet friendly rooms. Easy on/off from the interstate, great breakfast with a chef to cook your eyes your way! Nice indoor pool/hot tub in separate building. Only one ice maker working of the two on property...upstairs....only bummer
Room was not as clean as expected. Staff took care of it in quick order after reported, i.e. wasted basket not emptied. Comfortable bed. Good set up in bathroom. Internet functioned well. Good choices on cable.
Came to town to visit friends and family, loved how easy it was to get to and from the hotel. The Room was spacious and the bed was cozy and made for a good night sleep. We didn't end up having the complimentary breakfast but it smelled good, simple food to get your day started.
We stayed here one night on our way to Seattle, and this place was the nicest hotel we stayed at along the I-5 corridor. Very conveniently laid out, nice check in, and the room was very clean. And breakfast was cooked to order! When's the last time you've had that in this class of hotel?!? This is the place to stay if you're going to be spending the night along this portion of I-5. One other thing: this hotel has a DOOR between the bathroom (that is, sink, toilet, and shower). I hate that so many hotels have the sink right in the rooms, so that one person can't get up and use it without waking anyone else in the room.
We loved the cozy feel of the room. It was like home. It was very convenient to route 5. The staff was friendly, kind and professional. We loved the fresh hot breakfast and great service! We are counting on this location for many future stays:)
Honestly been here multiple times. The tailored breakfast, the pool, the extras in the room and cleanliness keeps us coming back. We stayed in some other high dollar hotels on the way down and back up and they just don't compare in going the extra mile. Bonus points for how much better the beds are here than other places as well.
Friendly courteous staff. Grounds are well kept. Room was super clean. King bed made for a good night's sleep. Room was on first floor and was quiet even withe rambunctious family on the floor above us. Breakfast, eggs, omelets, potatoes & pancakes cooked to order along with the normal continental items. We would stay here again.
Ripped curtains and signs on door requiring masks but no staff wearing masks. The ice machine in the area we stayed was broken, it also had a high pitched buzzing noise we had to turn the bathroom fan on to drown it out.
I stayed here to attend a meeting the next day. Access was easy from the freeway and though it's close to the freeway, the noise wasn't bad. The staff was excellent! My only complaint is the electrical outlets didn't hold the plugs well. Many hotels use the little pillows. While they're decorative on the bed, they're really not comfortable to use.
Stayed one night, nice and quiet place to stay. It it located away from the freeway, so no noise from vehicles speeding by. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay again and recommend it a place to stay.
I stay here while working in Southern Oregon. It's a very safe and secure setting with clean rooms and an extremely helpful staff. I always look forward to to my stay. As a fishing guide it's very important that I stay where my boats, motors and gear are secure. This location exceeds that requirement.
The room is clean, bright and quiet. The beds are comfy and clean. Lots of pillows to read upon. The area for my pet was clean and green. Breakfast fit our family food needs and was tasty. This I our new treasured place to stay. The staff are very helpful and eager to satisfy, friendly.
I'm giving this hotel 4 out of 5 stars based on what did go right, plus a call from the manager promising a better outcome for some problems the next time we might stay. First, the hotel itself is attractive, with a bit of a rustic bent. We stayed on the ground floor, and the room was quite accessible from the parking lot. The room was older but well appointed, and we had a good night's sleep. Our two issues were with the ice machines and the breakfast service. The ice machines (two available) would not produce ice. The night clerk at the front desk went to great lengths to get one of them to start producing ice, but no luck (note: we stopped by on our way back south and "sampled" the ice machine to see if it was fixed: it was.) The second issue was with breakfast - the hotel had experienced an issue with the kitchen, and it was shut down during our stay. A single server was trying to produce a hot breakfast (a breakfast burrito) but was quickly falling behind all of the orders. We finally gave up and went over to McDonalds ($12.00!!!) Again, when it is fixed, we will try again to see if everything is back up-to-speed. We received a call from the hotel manager, and she went to great lengths to apologize for the inconvenience, which we really appreciated. So...a good night's stay, spoiled by two things that were promised to be better the next time. We will stay on our next trip to give them a chance, as it was a good place for us to stop.
The place needs some upgrading. My mattress was very old. When you sat down the middle just caved in. Not that great of a sleep. The staff was great! Clean. Good location to lots of restaurants. Would stay there again but I would check out the mattress.
The pool is usually closed, open only once in last 5 stays. The large breakfast was removed without notice. Hot water is hardly warm and room had overwhelming bleach smell. We used to love this place but will be looking to stay elsewhere when visiting.
We were travelling down I-5 with some friends on our way home from a late-night football game, we had two rooms. The rooms were super clean, the beds very comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. Their cafe wasn't open/operable, but they did have breakfast burritos and a few snack items.
Very clean and friendly place with comfortable beds and a good breakfast. The pool looked nice too, but I didn't have time to enjoy it. I would stay here again without hesitation. My daughter loved it too.
This was one of the more enjoyable experiences I've had at a motel. Every one of the staff was so nice and helpful. The room was clean and the water pressure in the shower was divine. Bed was a little older but still comfortable. Great selection of TV channels. Fridge and microwave in room. Definitely recommend staying here.
We have stayed here several times over the last few years and have always felt it is one of the best around. It still is! It is very well maintained and has a nice feel to it since it looks like a log lodge. The front desk was very friendly at check in. Our room was spacious and very clean. It is right off of the freeway but very quiet. Breakfast right now is a "grab and go" style, but they still offer home made hot breakfast burritos, which is a step above many cold breakfasts.
We were in the area to visit the Wildlife Safari and most hotels were booked due to the college football game in the area. We settled on this hotel and paid a little more for the convenience of the pool and on-site breakfast. The pool was great, clean and the water had a good temperature, both the hot tub and pool. However, the bathrooms were locked and unavailable and the acoustics were so terrible that all of us had headaches when we left. Also, the breakfast buffet and made-to-order burritos were non-existent: instead of a buffet they had a cold-case with pumpkin donuts, green bananas, and packets of oatmeal. The "made-to-order" breakfast burritos consisted of pre-made burritos of eggs, ham, cheese, cold veggies or the other option excluded the ham. We had to go "out-to-eat" to get breakfast which is why we paid extra for this hotel. We would stay again, but I'll definitely be shopping around for a hotel with an actual breakfast prior to booking.
We liked the location and room comfortable, but the included breakfast was not acceptable, due to a recent kitchen fire. No adjustments were made to the rate, even though the food provided at breakfast was not up to Best western plus standards
Very clean room and propety. With the pool, exercise room and breakfast available a worth while stay. Close to resteraunts, stores and gas stations. Right off the freeway for easy travel with an easy to find location.
I would definitely stay again. Friendly, helpful staff at front desk. Room was spotless, with comfortable bedding. Only minor complaint was I would have liked to have kept the fan on, rather than it coming on and off during the night.
We had a long day of traveling from Seattle, and this was a terrific and easy place to stop, close to the highway. The staff was working hard when we got there to get everyone in their rooms (during the heatwave) because a few of us arrived a bit early. They were out early cleaning rooms as well. The room was clean and great for our dog; there was a little lawn available for us to take him to do business. There is not much around it, but we found a little diner for dinner. In the morning we took some of the breakfast options, which were sufficient but not overly exciting. Great to have a drive through coffee place across the street to get ready for another day of driving. It's a little pricey for where it is, but it's probably worth it to be in such a convenient area that's not in a big town. Dog fee was reasonable at $20.
Staff was quick and friendly, kitchen was down so they offered microwaved breakfast burritos which made it difficult with allergies and food sensitivities. The pool was great but we didn't use too often because we kept getting hair stuck on our feet and hands as we swam.
We stayed at this place for one night while traveling through to the Redwoods. This was a very decent place to stay. For an older place, it was great! Very clean and quiet. The only reason that I didn't give this place 5 stars is because there wasn't any notification that the cafe was closed due to a fire. I was very impressed with the staff with accommodating our pets. They didn't have a room for pets available from r the date we were to stay there but they set us up with a nice room for us without any issue.
For a small town, I was skeptical that the hotel would be accommodating. My small town hotel experience hasn't been the best. I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. The staff so over the top helpful and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, it was just a great experience.
Our stay was great. The staff was very pleasant to work with and the room was nice and clean. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, too! We slept really well on this stay and would stay there again in the future.
it was fine for what it is, which is a motel in a very small rural area of oregon. room was clean but a little outdated. check in staff was very friendly and helpful. felt safe staying there. grab and go breakfast was a little lacking, we got some bananas and a burrito which was just ok. we tried to get water bottles as they were free at the last BWP we stayed in, but here they said we had to pay for them.
Loved the location and the style of this Best Western. I didn't realize how much I have missed being able to park in front of the door and unload your suitcase. The bed was comfortable & wifi was sufficient. We did walk down to breakfast the next moring but didn't get anything. Choices were sparse but we were a bit late getting there. We would definitely stay here again.
1. Check in was not the most pleasant experience. I paid for the rooms (2) but I was asked to swipe my credit card 4 times (normal procedure according to the BW rep when I raised my concern) and I was charged 3 times for a total of $498.90. 2. I left several messages for the manager to call me back, she has not even attempted to reach me at all and it has been more than a week (I stayed at this place on May 22 and checked out on May 23). 3. I called the corporate office and left a lengthy feedback and the corporate office was not only rude but hostile. I thought I was doing them a favor by leaving them feedbacks. A case has been opened up but again, no phone calls. 4. The room I stayed in had broken lamp shades (2), the bathroom was not up to standard with old and outdated furnishings and lack of hygiene as I found a clump of hair next to my bed. 5. Breakfast the next morning was a disaster . Burritos were freshly made but the person making them was so overwhelmed she got the order wrong and they were offered to another traveler. The order was repeated to her with instructions of just potatoes and eggs and she still got the order wrong. My friend ended up with ham in his burrito and I ended up with onions in mine. I threw away mine. For the price I paid for these rooms, it is not worth the time and effort. Stay in Roseburg, a much bigger town and more lodging options.
We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge. Super friendly staff, clean rooms, pets welcome and kids had a blast in the pool! Close to convenient stores and the freeway. We will stay again!
We plan our west coast trips to include this beautiful lodge like setting. Very friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. This was our third time staying here. We usually stay at a Best Western when possible and so far this is our favourite.
Every time we've stayed at this hotel, we've loved it! Friendly, inviting and helpful staff always welcomed us with a smile. Super clean room, wonderful pool, and best covid breakfast I've experienced!
I had never been to Sutherland before and was ecstatic to find out that there was a Best Western Plus there. They offered a grab and go hot breakfast with a homemade burrito either with me or without me which was fabulous. Mr Chris when I called to make sure that they had rooms before I booked was super professional and amazing. At check-in Estella was spot on with her customer service her knowledge of things to do around town. And then there was the warm pool that was the icing on the cake for my daughter. The fact that McDonald's was right next door was a great bonus. Down the street less than a mile was a park that had the water sprinklers a kid's park and an older kids park that was awesome and was spacious enough and well-kept I felt very safe and secure at the Best Western location I will definitely be back again thank you so much Estella and Chris for making it a wonderful visit
Conveniently located off I-5, clean and comfortable room, nice pet area, and conveniently located next to a Deli Market and McDonald's. Although due to Covid-19 restrictions, the breakfast options were good and satisfying.
I was disappointed with the experience at this hotel. The beds were good, the staff was very kind and the breakfast burrito was good. The downfall was the cleanliness. The room was pretty dirty. There was dust on high touch areas. There was hair in the shower. There was trash under the beds. The floors were dingy.
We were very happy with our stay! The pool was fun, hot tub was hot (maybe even a little too hot) Food was good even though because of Covid it was in a brown bag. Staff was very pleasant, helpful and kind!
Best Western is my favorite to stay no other hotel or motel we stayed but Best Western Plus Lodge is not quite my favorite in Sutherlin because it's expensive and not quite have enough stuff like body soap, shampoo and conditioner we need todown and ask at the front desk which is not quite helpful but still i will stay BW hotel
The rooms were nice and the staff was extremely friendly the whole way I definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying there again. The property it's self was beautiful and having the pool to ourselves was so nice!
I stay at this hotel a few times each year when I visit family. The staff is always helpful and so nice. The rooms are clean, and the location is great. I highly recommend staying at this hotel and enjoying the free breakfast!
We have driven up from CA to our timeshare in WA many times over the last 25 years. This is my new favorite place to spend the night. We stayed here the night of October 29th, and then again on our drive home in early November. The staff was extremely helpful. They gave us great suggestions about places to eat. We had a pizza delivered to our door from Abby's just up the road. The bed was very comfortable and very clean. There was a fridge, microwave, and comfy chairs. We also were able to have our dog in the room. In the morning we went to the breakfast area, and they had a nice selection of fruit, instant oatmeal, donuts, and breakfast burritos. It was very well set up with Covid restrictions in mind. There was a fridge with juices, and milk for coffee. It was clear that they were focused on details of what one might need. Mary and Andrea, whose names I hope I spelled correctly, were most helpful. Thank you for all the hard work involved to give us a really nice experience.
We were looking for a stopover on our way from CA back to Seattle. We selected the BW Hartford Lodge because the hotel offers a free Electric Vehicle charger. The rooms were spotless, bed was comfortable and the front staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, it fit our needs exactly. They have done a good job adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic, offering time slots for the pool, burritos for breakfast to carry back to your room.
I am so impressed!! I was very reluctant to travel during Covid and I also have disabilities that make travel difficult for me. The hotel was clean and followed safety procedures. I felt safe and welcome. It was very quiet and easy to get a good nights rest. They were very welcoming to me and my service dog. My room was easy to access. I would highly recommend staying here!
Hotel was beautiful and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly! The person who checked us in, Andrea, was the best services employee I've ever worked with! We had 2 dogs with us and the pet area was perfect!
We stayed one night on our way north. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning worked well. The sleep comfort was admirable, and the staff was friendly. With the COVID issues, we were surprised to find the indoor pool open..? Nonethe less, it served us well. I would say the only 'downer' was the area. Not a bad area, but nothing here. No quality restaurants or shopping for basic needs. The desk staff recommended a local Italian place called Pedotti's........no bueno. That's a separate review. Anyhow, if your in the area and need a quality sleep with friendly staff.....it's worthy....
We self evacuated from Lincoln City, OR on 9/8, just before the fires shut down the roads out. We had to go 40 miles north to Tillamook to get over to I 5 and try to head home to AZ. We had hoped to make Ashland, but the freeway shut down due to new fires. We happened to be passing through Sutherlin in heavy smoke and ash, saw the Best Western, and pulled in. Estrella (I think) was absolutely excellent in finding one of her very last rooms for us and making us feel very welcome. Her phone was ringing non-stop while she checked us in, but she kept a smile and made it all work. She did mention that our location was on Level 1 evacuation alert! The room was wonderful, the whole experience an excellent end to what had been a very stressful day. Thank you Estrella and Best Western.
This place was absolutely filthy, there was a broken washing machine leaking something outside of our room, the pool floor have not been cleaned in days, there was no cleaning rags or liquid or paper towels in the gym! The Gym was so gross that I didn't use it. The breakfast portions were small and also poorly prepared, the juice in the machine was sour. We found a can from the previous guest behind a chair, so you can imagine how bad is the cleaning process. There was no WIFI service in our room. We reserved for using the pool and the front desk told us to meet in the entrance and that they will take towels, after 10 minutes of standing at the pool entrance nobody showed up, a person giving a tour opened the door for us and we never got towels so we walked dripping wet to our room.
We had an unexpected turn of events leading to our car breaking down and getting stuck in sutherlin. We ended up at the best western plus and right off the bat we were greeted with the friendliest customer service. They were helpful and accommodating. The staff there turned what could've been a very miserable trip to quite an enjoyable experience. If we ever end up in sutherlin again, this hotel is the place to stay.
We didn't make advance travel plans on a busy tourist weekend and were glad to find a room available. The room is clean and comfortable. I was especially impressed that the public bathrooms are gender neutral, single stall, even though it's plenty big enough for two stalls.
This is a nice place to stay. The rooms were fairly clean and very tidy. There is easy access to the freeway, but not really any freeway noise. The staff were very helpful and courteous. It was not the "cleanest room you have ever experienced" though, as promised by the sign by the front desk. There was some mildew around the bathtub grouting, which needed attention. There was also some sharp construction debris in the parking lot, that I pointed out to the front desk agent but that never got cleaned up. Interesting note: The room doors in this hotel all open to the outside, like an old-fashioned motel. It has been years since I stayed in a hotel like that actually. But now with the virus, that seems like a big plus. I liked just going to the room from the outside air. All in all, this is a pleasant place to stay and I would stay here again.
Front desk, cleaning ladies, cook, waitress & staff were phenomenal & will stay again soon. This is one of our favorite Best Western hotels. They deserve award for most courtesy, helpful, kind hard working individuals. Very personable feels like home everytime we come back!! Thank you
Occasionally I will look around the state for a good deal on a hotel, and then go stay there for a couple nights while I tour around the area and geocache a bit. This was one of those times - the hotel looked nice, and it was a good price. I will say that the "lodge" name and look in the pictures fooled me a bit - this is not a lodge, it is a hotel with log siding. However, the hotel is nice, clean, remodeled, and above average compared to a standard Best Western or any middle range hotel. The only complaint I had was the pillows - they were about a third the size of what they should have been, so the five provided acted more like two, and it wasn't the best night of sleep I had ever had, but it wasn't bad. No question I would stay here again, though.
We always check out the room before bringing our luggage in. The beds and bathroom and even the floor were neat as a pin and CLEAN! We were so excited to see that they had actual glasses to drink out of....NOT PLASTIC!! How cool is that! And the coffee cups were not that cardboard/paper cups that we have found in other hotels. (Best Western included) They were actual coffee mugs. The real deal! I dont care for plastic.... can you tell!! The beds were very comfy. And it was relatively quiet. We were happy campers. This is a hotel we definitely will stay at again.!!
First off, thank you to Estella (June 10, 2020) for a warm welcome and for bringing those homemade jams to my mom's room that were on sale in the lobby. The lobby is cozy and warm, even during a pandemic and civil unrest. There's a baby grand in the lobby. I sanitized, sat down and played a few Irish tunes & hymns, then re-sanitized. The cooks were accommodating for breakfast for my mother's special dietary needs. This is no hard bread roll & coffee — it's a reasonable breakfast with protein! Thumbs up on the egg white omelette with vegetables! The overall area is beautiful— Sutherlin is at the base of green hills and tall trees, and the hotel indeed has that log-cabin lodge feel. My only minor complaint was that the bathroom door lock in Room 132 doesn't actually work. Otherwise, I would come back here in the future.
The check in was easy and the staff was very helpful, the room was clean and neat , I travel with my dog , thje room was by the pet area ,make it easy to walk my dog.Had a king size bed and lots of room
This was the best place on my 4 day day trip sleeping at Best westerns the whole time, Andrea at the front desk was awesome in making me feel welcome. The room was clean as any I have ever stayed in and I slept really well.
Excellent and friendly service with very nice amenities. Clean, quiet and comfortable room. All ages of guests enjoyed chef prepared complimentary breakfast. Heated pool and sauna were in enclosed building separate from guest rooms
For the last ten years we have made several trips a year between our primary residence in Victoria, BC and our vacation spot in Carmel, California. After selecting several other more expensive hotel chains within a 100 mile distance for our overnight stopover, we fortunately discovered the Hartford Inn and would never choose another accommodation. The management is always receptive to our special requests, and the staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. Even though the location provides easy access to the I-5, the setting is very quiet and provides a perfect night's sleep. We like the security of the premises, and we especially like being able to park our car right in front of our room, with easy access to our luggage. My husband always looks forward to their breakfast, when he can have the chef make him the perfect omelette with many toppings. The Hartford Inn(Best Western Plus) definitely provides optimum value and quality for the money.
This motel was quiet and exceptionally clean. Great beds and well planned room for travelers. Very friendly staff . We have never stayed in Sutherlin before but will come back to this motel. Also, your breakfast is made to order!
The staff here is awesome, especially the front desk. They are good with promotions. We got a great rate and a $30 voucher for a seafood restaurant. We brought our puppy along and the staff all wanted to meet him. There is a short walk to a pretty secluded beach that was beautiful!
This property has ample parking, extremely clean rooms, the best breakfasts around and the people are just friendly and wonderful. The only less than positive is there are very few places to eat in that part of the town. But not the hotel's fault.
The whole property has been updated. It is in excellent condition and is very clean. It is decorated like an old western lodge. Super cute. The made to order breakfasts are fantastic. I would highly recommend this property! The people who work there are super friendly. Overall, it was way more than we expected.
Place is really clean the staff are really nice and food is amazing cooked right in front of you. And they have the best beds. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again in the future. And the pool is heated and hot tub.
I usually come and stay here each February as I come down to visit Roseburg for an annual event. As always the room was spacious and the bed extra comfy. The staff is always friendly and professional and the services are never lacking.
Stayed at the Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge in Sutherlin. I was concerned that it might be difficult to find a decent motel in a small town. BW was great. Staff was friendly, helpful. Dog-friendly rooms on the ground floor close to the dog-walk area. The best feature was for breakfast they will cook-to-suit omlettes, eggs and pancakes, in addition to the typical breakfast buffet that many motels have. The breakfast "chef" Sergio was the greatest. And cooks a mean omlette
The Best Western hotel in Sutherlin is a bit of a Gem just off the freeway. All of the staff are very accommodating and friendly. The place clean and and well maintained. Rooms are quiet , clean and comfortable. Beds were nice. The shower was GREAT lots of pressure and hot water. Best of all is the made to order omelets. Prices are very reasonable and I main a point to stay every time I'm in the area for business.
We make an annual road trip from Seattle to California every January for 2 months. We take our lab with us. We really appreciate the Best Western Hotels because they are pet-friendly. This hotel has a cook to order breakfast which is great. The room was clean and warm, and the staff was very attentive to our needs. We have used this hotel for our past 4 trips, and are always very satisfied.
Our room was comfortable and we had a great sleep. We have two small dogs and they were okay with that. Nice breakfast in the morning. We were waiting for our RV to be repaired and they let us stay till noon.
When heading or coming from our trips to family in Northern California this is always a great stop, drive wise for us it is a perfect days drive. We especially enjoy the breakfast which is cooked to order, and also appreciate the ease of getting to the BW+ from I5.
This hotel is awful! The staff are rude and the room 131 is old and dirty! I would rate this hotel no more than 5. The pool was closed and because I am unfamiliar with the website I missed that fact. When asked if she was giving us a discount she stated we weren't gonna use it anyways! As a matter of fact, I was! Oh well live and learn! Can't recommend this hotel!
Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Had pizza delivered with no problem. Loved the beds! Front desk area had a small store and bakery for snacks. Included breakfast that was pretty good that included biscuits and gravy, omelettes and waffles.
Clean and friendly place. Breakfast offered a custom omelette or scrambled eggs as well as plenty of other options such as fruit and yogurt. Lots of options for snacks/beverages to purchase in the lobby too
My wife and I have stayed here several times. It is our regular stop as we drive from the bay area. My wife says they have the best mattresses in the world. We tried to buy one but they only sell them to hotels. The made to order breakfast is a nice treat. We also enjoy the cookies from the bakery.
This hotel is conventionality located. The staff is always so polite and ready to assist with anything. I've stayed here twice now and they are consistently great each time, no matter the time of day!
This motel has a staff that went above and beyond in every way. The rooms were clean, the desk clerks were friendly and helpful, and the cafe staff did an excellent job. The breakfast that came with the room had made-to-order eggs and pancakes; much better than the usual hotel breakfasts.
My wife and I were blown away by the value we received staying at this hotel. Spotless room, professional staff and the breakfast was cooked to order by a dietary conscious chef and staff. I can't recommend this hotel enough.
Unique motel, a hidden Gem! Loved this log cabin style motel! Excellent customer service and rooms were very beautiful and clean. Food was very good. Never seen a motel like this before. It is a must to come stay if you're in this area. Absolutely gorgeous motel inside and outside. Very comfortable homie feeling. Peaceful and quiet.
We have stayed here a few times. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable as well. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is outstanding. We will stay here again!
We love to stay at this place. The employees are all very happy and can't do enough to help you. Right from the bakery cookies when registering, the very clean room, the fabulous breakfast with the great cook Sergio who does the egg dishes just right and his assistant who happily delivers your order with your name on it.
Very impressed with our stay at the Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge. The room was very clean and comfortable. All the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the biggest surprise. Made to order omelettes by a chef with bacon or sausage, home fries, and pancakes. Also oatmeal with all the goodies, biscuits and gravy, etc etc etc. Excellent!
We waited to long to make reservations in Eugene for a football game, so decided to stay along the way home. We were pleasantly surprised at the great price, $104, on a Saturday night. Our room was nicely appointed, very comfortable and we even had four bath towels. The complimentary breakfast had a chef preparing our omelet. Fresh cookie when we checked in. We will stay again
After viewing the motel online, we were willing to pay a few dollars more than we would have normally. We were disappointed when we arrived. The motel was older, parking in front of your door (just a few feet). The pool and hot tub were in a separate building across the parking lot! On a cold, rainy night, we didn't want to go outside across the parking lot in our suits and towels.
Room was fine- staff particularly helpful but breakfast was the best- individudal made to order omelets with country potatoes and bacon. Best ever for a hotel breakfast. Easy to access from highway but set back enough noise was not an issue.
We like to stay at Best Western Motels because they are dog friendly. We have a small dog and he loves it there. I recommend this motel highly. Aside from the most comfortable beds ever, they have a full breakfast included. Great value for the money.
We chose Hartford Lodge as our jumping-off point for Crater Lake, and it proved to be one of the nicest places we stayed in a week of travel around coastal and west/central Oregon. Excellent room and cooked breakfast. Highly recommended!
This is a great place to stay. Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice rooms, and easy access to the freeway. We have never been disappointed when we have stayed here and plan on staying there again when we travel that direction. The chef Sergio is great and very accommodating.
Great place to stay for the price. Very clean and staff very professional. We usually skip the hotel breakfast and go elsewhere, but not here. It was very fresh, great variety and everything was clean. They even were making omelettes if you wanted! Highly recommend when in the area.
The entire staff at this location is great - very friendly & helpful - front desk, mgrs, maintenance crew & house keepers are ALL very nice. The beds at this location are comfy, rooms are clean & the exterior is well maintained.
When we first walked into this hotel it was close to 9:00 pm and we had been on the road for more than 14 hours. We were exhausted. The person at the check in counter greeted us with a smile even though she was slammed with customers that night. We appreciated her friendliness and the room was very nice. It was clean, they folded the towels like we've had them folded on cruises and nice resorts, and I can go on and on. The staff at breakfast the next morning was friendly and very caring. I would highly recommend this place whether you are a weary traveler or vacationing.
Decent price for the area. A little at the higher end in price but not ridiculously higher than hotels rated at same or less stars. The rooms are very clean and the bed was more comfortable than most. Super friendly and helpful staff. This should not be considered a hotel as the doors are outside and not inside an interior hall.
The minute you hit the front door the front desk is theere with a smile and willing to help anyway she can. The place is clean and well managed! Great value! We had a pet Friendly room that was clean and quiet!
Motel is great, Staff is the Best ! Front desk personnel are always Very helpful and informed.. We make a point to stay here when traveling is way...Breakfast is great !!!!...Will be back again ..and again
We stayed at the Best Western for one night last week and were pleasantly surprised. Being in little Sutherlin, you naturally don't expect much out of the hotels available. This hotel is located super close to I5, but tucked back enough to be quiet and away from the freeway noise. It's a bit dated, but it works because it's lodge-style so it's cozy. The rooms are also a bit dated, but they offer a large tv with many channels (we appreciated Disney jr!) and big beds. I know others have posted about the beds being comfortable, but I didn't quite have that same experience. They were ok, but the one I was on had a bit of a dip. My kids didn't mind theirs, of course. I also appreciated that the room was clean. The remote was placed in a "sanitized" bag, which was appreciated. The towels were made into cute animals and the glasses were also covered with sanitized covers. The fridge was a bit squeaky, but it kind of worked as white noise. Especially since you can't turn the furnace thing to have a constant fan on. It was pretty warm, and you can set the thermostat to a temp, but it didn't seem to cool to that temp. It was cool enough, but definitely not one that fully changes the temp in the room to the desired temp. One odd thing we found was that the coffee maker was in the bathroom. I am sure due to limited counter space, but still a bit odd. The breakfast was amazing. This was our first time ever having a hotel breakfast that included made-to-order choices. They had the regular hotel breakfast stuff out - make your own waffles, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, etc - for you to get. And then on top of that, you could order pancakes, eggs, etc with the chef. My kids got the pancakes and loved them! They were shaped like mickey which they really appreciated. Great, yummy breakfast. Really, the breakfast makes the place! We would return just for that! The staff was all super friendly, and we were offered cookies at check in. Overall, a great little place to stay. We would stop there again for sure. :)
Title says it all. When I'm on a trip where I need a welcome break I always try and come here. It is probably the nicest Best Western I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in quite a few over the years. What sets this one apart are the little extras. Large spacious room with higher end shampoo, soap, lotion. Housekeeping does a wonderful job every time I've been here. Your greeted warmly and offered a cookie upon check in. It's quiet, comfortable with a separate pool and spa close by in the grounds. You don't just get your usual “Best Western” but a made to order omelet and other good breakfast foods.
Have stayed in lots of Best Western properties over the years, and this one is close to the top of the list. Very nice rooms, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast and reasonable pricing. Have stayed here twice this year, and highly recommend it.
A group of us stayed the night here...all 40 of us. The rooms were clean and great comfortable beds. Everything was great and expected of a good hotel. We had a great rest and will come back if we have the chance.
Rooms are very small but clean. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is fair. Hot tub stinks. "Bakery" is a joke. In room coffee is awful. Coffee in breakfast area is not much better. Thankfully there is a Dutch Bros within walking distance! Overpriced motel for what one gets.
I stayed here overnight on a road trip (and had stayed here previously three years ago as well). The gentleman at the counter was courteous, efficient, friendly and honest about what he had left for rooms that night, and the room itself was very quiet and comfortable. The bed and pillows were surprisingly soft - not the hard bricks you find at so many other hotels - and I had a great night's sleep as a result. The decor was also quite noteworthy - someone took the time to fold the towels and washcloths very attractively in the bathroom, with a large scallop shell and even an origami bird holding some soap. This extra little touch really stood out, making the place that much warmer and more inviting. I will definitely stay here again in the future.
We stayed here one night on our journey back home because of the food reviews. We were not disappointed, in fact I'm in love with this place and disappointed we could only be here one night. This Best Western is a log cabin style hotel, nestled in to the quaint, picturesque town of Sutherlin, OR. Rooms are clean, cozy and peaceful. The lobby, stairway, and open areas are gorgeous! The breakfast is a bit awkward in the way it's presented (which makes it seem more restrictive than it actually is) but it's very good and includes many options. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and you can buy a bottle of wine (or a mini bottle) in the lobby. The pool/hot tub area is indoors, peaceful, and pretty.
Despite having no rooms when we stopped on our way down south, Andrea at the front desk was beyond friendly and tried very hard to assist us in finding other accommodation. She even sent us on our way with cookies knowing we hadn't eaten. The experience was so good we booked it on the way back home and had a short but pleasant stay. All of the staff we encountered at check in and check out were equally pleasant and as both of us come from the hospitality business including hotels, private clubs and cruise ships we were impressed at the consistency. Other property owners/managers might consider checking in for a few days to see how it's done! They do an awesome breakfast buffet that is included with cooked to order entrees. Amenities in the bathroom and room were lovely though we never did use the pool or hot tub. My only comment is that the rooms are likely do for a bit of a refresh soon but we would most certainly stay here again if we were in the area and highly recommend it. Great value overall.
Great guest service and pet friendly. Loved the special touches inside of room (towel layout) however bed was not comfortable. We had stayed here previously and enjoyed the small town feel however this time we didn't feel as safe when we headed out to grab a bite of dinner due to the people who were hanging out in restaurant parking lot who seemed to be struggling with drug issues/ homelessness.
Overall this hotel is excellent choice. The breakfast is cooked and served right in front of you. There's even hookups for your Tesla. Rooms are great! Built up a bit higher, it leaves you with a great view of the mountains.
This hotel is close enough to the freeway to be easy to get to but far enough away to be quieter than many others. I was warned that the hotel was completely full but I heard very little noise in the night. I love the ceramic mugs and glass drinking glasses and it was nice to get fresh cookies when arriving. I got a small bottle of wine from the front desk and they gave me a glass wine glass to drink from. A small thing but appreciable. The room was very clean and cool, which was nice since it was a hot day in the 90's.
My boyfriend said it was the "Best Best Western we've stayed at" He is 6'2" so used to the low shower head. This one had a high shower head, good water pressure, the bed was super comfy, the breakfast was great; a wonderful family friendly hotel!
My husband and I are on a cross country trip. Our stop in Sutherlin was a waypoint between a visit to Crater Lake and Portland OR. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's clear management cares about this property. The room was very clean and he bed was quite comfortable.
We checked in after 7pm and the person at the front desk was very perky and friendly. I wasn't a fan of the lodge style where the rooms are on the outside but we were just passing through and it was conveniently off the highway. Guests are given a cookie (oatmeal, chocolate chip, white chocolate craisin or peanut butter) and are offered pool towels in the event you want to swim (no, thank you). We went into the room and everything looked nice and neat. The remote controls were in little pouches and had been sanitized and the glassware had covers that said it had been sanitized. There was a little makeup table with a basket of makeup remover and some lotion with a portable mirror in addition to the large mirror. The bathroom was spotless and there were washcloth swans (very cute). The breakfast is a made-to-order one with an omelette, other egg style and pancake option which you filled out on a card and gave to the chef. Everyone from the front desk clerk to the server were extremely friendly and welcoming. All in all, they do a great job hosting guests and they lived up to the plaque that's mounted on the wall that tells you that you're about to enter the cleanest room. True! This is a good place if you're just needing a place to sleep and charge your electronics before continuing your road trip!
We have stayed at this hotel on 3 separate occasions, it's clean, convenient and comfortable; also has a great pet area for our 2 dogs. There's a deli next to the hotel which has fresh salads and great sandwiches; a Mc Donalds is next door and a Dutch Brothers coffee across the street. Who could ask for more?
We stay at this hotel every chance we get! Very comfortable beds, great breakfast, very pleasant and accommodating front desk. Love it for when we visit family in Roseburg. Nice Italian and Mexican restaurants close by. Easy access from freeway.
I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and it never fails to live up to cozy, clean and comfortable! I find the staff very accommodating and warm. The rooms are lovely. Always exceptionally clean and very well maintained. I will continue to stop here on my road trips.
We had driven all day in POURING rain and were desperate to stop. Hotels in the cities around here were twice as much - so we stopped here - and so happy we did! What a great hotel! Staff all very welcoming, peaceful lobby and free homemade cookies! Room was clean (renovated), comfortable and quiet - beds were on the soft side for us but fine. Swimming pool could use some refurbishing, but temp was warm, water clean, and a hot tub - we all enjoyed the pool. One of the best things about this hotel - free made to order omelets/eggs - in addition to the normal BW buffet. And the breakfast staff was also very welcoming, and friendly. What a relaxing place to stay and easy on/off from I5. We will definitely stay here again.
We have stayed at the Hartford Lodge at least 4 different times. It's a great place to stay when traveling on Interstate 5. It's easy on and off the freeway and there are plenty of places to eat. The rooms themselves, though dated, are always clean and the staff is extremely friendly.
Very clean, friendly and Quiet we have stay many times, never a problem. Great pizza parlor close by;.So many little things make this place charming. Beds comfortable. Laundry available on site. Easy off and on Freeway. A full breakfast available. The employees are always at your service. Have stay at many BW and this one is the best. They greet you with a lovely cookie.
we enjoyed our stay. The reception was friendly and personable, we felt like they were happy to have us staying at their hotel. The towels in the room were folded in to special shapes... I don't need this for a nice room, but it did imply that someone was hoping to make a guest smile and they succeeded. The breakfast was GREAT! with a chef making made to order omelets, nothing fancy, just fresh and hot! W look forward to staying here again!
Great place to stay. Clean, friendly and accomodating. Loved the indoor pool and Jacuzzi. The cookie at Check In was a pleasant surprise as well. The maid service was excellent and they were very efficient.
Pleasant surprise. Very friendly staff. Cookies on check in. Large room with extra touches. Breakfast included a chef cooking eggs and pancakes on demand along with the usual breakfast items. Generous amount of food. Comfy lounge. Would highly recommend this hotel. Good rates also for what you are getting.
We have stayed in several Best Western Plus hotels and this is amongst the best. The location for a "sleepover" off the highway is excellent - visible but well set back so you don't hear the traffic noise. The facility is lodge style which creates some ambiance as compared to most "chain" rooms. We found the rooms to be large, very clean and provided all the necessary amenities. However, it is the little touches that set this "Plus" hotel apart. The staff was lovely - friendly, professional and helpful. We were offered freshly baked cookies when arriving - a nice touch. The breakfast included all the usual continental offerings. However, it also included a cook who would make you any egg dish you wanted - e.g.. omelette. This hotel is excellent dollar value. We would stay there again in a minute and highly recommend it.
Was down for an anniversary party. The grandchildren were treated with open arms, all 6 of them. They had a great stay. I would recommend anyone with children to stay in this Hotel. Pretty Nice for the adults as well.
A mini-bakery selection of cookies was offered at check-in. A nice touch. The clerk was most helpful and she was enthusiastic about pleasing guests. I needed a quiet room and time and effort was taken to ensure that I had a quiet room. The breakfast was amazing too.
From the moment I called to see if any rooms were available to the moment we left everyone was very pleasant! The breakfast was outstanding. I liked how you could customize your omelette and a great breakfast bar! Very impressed with the entire team. Thank you
We're snowbirds from Vancouver, BC who have chosen to stay at BW Sutherlin on our way to and from Phoenix each year. Not only has the service been friendly, the room clean and bed comfortable, the breakfast has been outstanding. In fact, a made-to-order delicious breakfast open at 6am is the main reason we return. However, service is slipping and so will our rating. On our way down in Jan, the hot tub & pool were closed and breakfast opened late at 6:15am. It's important to leave early because we travel 650 miles to our next stop. On our way back, we booked again. When checking in on Mar 2 (temp 35F), we asked if breakfast would open at 6 or 7am on Sunday. She reassured us it was always 6am. Next morning we were ready to leave after breakfast at 6am but the man at front desk informed us it's always 7am on Sunday. Since we were late in leaving at 7:45am, I forgot to check the closet for my blue Gortex jacket left in room 218. I remember hanging it on the left side of the closet and closing the door, so it wasn't visible when checking to see we had everything. When I called the morning on Mar 6, the man at the front desk took my phone number, said he would check with housekeeping and get back to me. To date, I have not heard from anyone.
Being located just about halfway between Seattle and San Jose, Sutherlin is usually a good place to spend the night. The BW in Sutherlin is clean, the staff is friendly. There are options for meals nearby, and it's a short drive to get back on the highway.
I was stranded at this Best Western in Sutherlin from Sunday night until Tuesday due to winter conditions. The electricity was out the entire time due to the storm. The hotel was filled with people who had to get off the highway and the hotel staff did an amazing job handling all the chaos. They went far above anything I would ever expect from a hotel to care for and even feed their guests. The kindness and willingness to help people really blew me away. Thank you Mary and staff!
Very nice property and outstanding staff, Made me feel welcome and like and old friend. I will be pleasantly coming back. My first visit and am choosing this as my base for 20+ nights a year. I could not be more pleased
We always stay at the Hartford when we are in the Roseburg area. We are down every year in February for a geocaching event. The hotel is always clean, rooms are great and the staff are the Best! We will be back in May for another event and WILL be staying here!
Heading north and late, I deviated into Sutherlin and found the Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge just off the central off ramp from the freeway into the town. Rate was reasonable and was allocated an upstairs room. When I entered, the stench of residual cigarette smoke was overpowering. I returned to the reception and was immediately allocated a neighbouring room which was appreciated. Room was comfortable. What I found particularly great about the hotel was that the included breakfast was a cooked to order breakfast with the cook actually in the breakfast area. Ordered pancakes - most enjoyable. Other selections were omelettes and bacon and eggs etc. More hotels should do this as clearly it is possible to do and still operate a profitable hotel. Definitely recommended as a place to stay in Sutherlin.
We spend many nights each year at this great hotel while visiting family in the area. It is always warm and inviting. The staff is friendly and efficiently accommodating. We truly appreciate the in-room microwave and refrigerator. And the delicious, custom-cooked breakfast buffet surpasses, by far, any other hotel's inclusive offering. You will not regret making this hotel choice on your travels!
This hotel was clean, the staff friendly the price was reasonable,And it has the best cooked to order breakfast of any hotel we have stayed in. Just off the freeway .You also can have fresh baked cookies.
This is the second time my family has stayed at this BW. The BW chain is our preferred lodging and this is the nicest one we've stayed at. Always clean, wonderful staff and a breakfast you can't beat with made to order omelettes and delicious additional breakfast items. Our heater wasn't working. Upon calling the front desk someone came immediately and resolved the issue.
I stay here every time I come to this area to visit family. It's always clean, rooms are usually quiet, staff is very helpful and friendly. If there ever is anything that needs fixed or corrected they do it right away. The shower pressure and temp is awesome!
This place is quiet, easy to find and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and set a good morning tone for starting your day right. My son loved the swimming pool and hot tub. Breakfast was more than adequate for getting us back on the road.
Very friendly service and simple, clean rooms. Reasonably quiet although only about 250 meters off the freeway. The café served a good breakfast including good omelettes and coffee. An interesting selection of local and Californian wines for sale in the lobby. Sadly, my small, portable bluetooth speaker was stolen from my room while I was out in the hills one day during my visit. The desk staff was concerned but hard to know what happened in the end.
Tired on the road and decided to pull off and stay here... what a blessing! Great staff, very welcoming, room was super clean with nice amenities, comfortable bed and free breakfast made to order with omelets and bacon, sausage etc... we travel a lot and are usually in nice places, we did not expect this from a Best Western in a small town. If they were all like this it would be amazing. We'll be back!
The hotel looks like a lodge. Connecting rooms are available for family. My wife and my 4 kids all felt comfortable here. Breakfast is made to order. The lobby has beer, wine and a small selection of baked goods. The beds were comfortable and the semis parked outside of the lot keeping the mornings quite. It is worth stopping early or driving a little late to hit this spot. If you are staying in the area this place would be nice for extended stays.
We were taking a short trip (4 nights) to Crater Lake and back with our new ADA van for a test run before we head to California this fall. Parking is an issue for us now and so is the size of the room and location. The staff at Sutherland did a great job of giving us a room close to the breakfast room on the ground floor and we had parking close to the room, we will definitely stay there again.
The staff were great. They were very friendly and attentive to our every need. The hotel was comfortable for an overnight stop. Each of our queen beds had 5 pillows which made TV watching and reading more comfortable. My husband and daughter enjoyed the outdoor seating for breakfast and were satisfied with the food. I would recommend this hotel for an overnight stay.
We were traveling and had no definite plans, we looked for a distance as to where we would stay. Best Western Plus Hartford lodge fit our plans. We found the DIMOND in the rough. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. The only thing we did not like was the outside entrance. We prefer an inside hallway entrance.
This BW Lodge is lovely, inside and out. The room and bed were very comfortable. It is easy to find right off of I5 yet no traffic noise. The people are there to help you. And you get a free, freshly baked cookie. The free breakfast, with a chef making orders on site sounded great. I just needed to leave before breakfast. I will remember this place for next time.
Clean rooms, good breakfast, helpful staff. I have stayed at this location in the past, and have always enjoyed my stay. This is a nice quite area off the freeway but with very little freeway noise. I highly recommend this location over any other hotel for the price and convenience.
One of the very few hotels I would stop my trip early to stay at. We were extremely pleased with everything from the breakfast to the clean and comfortable room. Price was reasonable. Staff were attentive and professional. This is the place to stay.
I have family in many parts of the USA and prefer to stay at BW Plus facilities wherever possible. Facilities are excellent. Staff is outstanding. The location is very convenient to the Interstate as well as shops stores and services. Can't ask for more.
Clean room, friendly staff, nice breakfast, convenient location. For future participation in the Douglas County Celtic Festival and Highland Games, this Best Western has to be your default destination.
surprised how really nice this motel is in a town normally would not think about staying. Everything was just great. The pool area is a little small ut could use more chairs, as some people get a little greedy and take up more chairs than needed.
This motel exceeded our expectations in many ways. First, it was very attractive, with a lodge feel, an outdoor sitting/café area, an informal picnic outdoor area, and very clean rooms. There were extra touches in the room, which we appreciated, such as uniquely folded towels and nice lotions. It was clear the staff takes extra care to make their facility attractive. The breakfast included a chef-prepared dish if desired, in a comfortable room without the TV being the central focus. This was an A+ value.
The beds here were exceptional. They were very comfortable and the room was clean and up to date. Did I mention the beds? Like I said, if they would not have missed it I would have packed it up. Not too hard, not too soft. The staff was friendly and engaging and in the morning, you can select what or how you would like your eggs done. Over medium is tough but they were perfect. I would tell anyone and everyone to go the distance and get to this location over others in the area.
Great location near freeway 5 and was easily to find with large sign Swimming pool was large with hot pool Rooms in very good condition . Wi-Fi was good . Staff were helpful and friendly Cooked breakfast
We have stayed at this facility 2-3 times in the past and it is excellent. We were heading home to the coast on July 29. We asked to briefly use their Tesla destination charger to add a few miles before supercharging in Springfield. They said it would be a $10 charge because we had been previous guests. This amount was excessive for the short charge we needed, so we proceeded to the AeroVironment station in Rice Hill even though it's slower. Frankly, very disappointed in Best Western's response but it's their charging station. The planned Roseburg supercharger will reduce the appeal of the destination charger at this location so we're not sure if we'll return as customers in the future.
This may be the best BW Plus I've stayed at. Everything from the look, to the pool, to the room, and finally the staff was outstanding. Upon check in they give each guest a cookie (already a win). The room was nice and each bed had a ton of pillows. We went to the indoor pool to let the kid burn off some steam and that was nice. The next morning for breakfast we were surprised to have a chef cooking breakfast for guests. They had the typical BW fare with coffee, juice, bagels, waffles, etc. The chef was making omelettes, eggs, pancakes etc. My 3 year old got mickey mouse chocolate chip pancakes! Overall, you will not be disappointed staying here. If I'm ever in the area this is my number 1 place by far!
Fantastic display of hospitality! The pool and hot tub were nice too. Newer looking hotel with wood lodge feel. Don't forget to try the little itallian restaurant across the street. Great food. The hotel staff kept it clean and made the hotel a welcome place to stay.
The staff was very helpful and goes out of there way to help you be comfortable, breakfast was good and hot .very easy to check in and out . The free cookie at check in is a good star to a quite night
I love to stay here. The staff is friendly and helpful. We can actually get pet- friendly, adjoining rooms. The cookies at check- in are a welcome treat. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I can count on a good night's sleep.
We stay here annually and it is consistently excellent. Elisa at the front desk was cheerful, helpful, professional, and made us feel welcome. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast even included made-to-order omelettes with very fresh ingredients. It's a small town, but the Hartford Lodge is worth the stay.
The very best Best Western we have stayed in! Clean and very comfortable rooms with all necessary amenities. A delicious, freshly-made breakfast is included. We visit family in the area often and find this hotel consistently welcoming and comfortable.
We have stayed at this hotel several times and they never disappoint. This time was no exception. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The rooms are not overly large but they are very well thought out. Having a separate vanity in the room is genius and I always appreciate having a refrigerator (that actually works) in a room. If all that were not enough, you actually get a real breakfast, with fresh cooked eggs made to order. This time though, I have to say, the staff truly went above and beyond for us. We were in town for a large family get-together and several of the families were staying in the hotel. The staff found a comfortable place for us to hang-out and visit where we wouldn't disturb the other guests. It really was fantastic. Couldn't have ask for more. Thanks so much.
We were really impressed with this hotel. The rooms are super clean (fresh remote/sanitized glasses) and the beds/bedding were very comfortable. There were also other little details that made this hotel our favorite to stay in while on an eight night road trip. We were actually bummed we only stayed for one night passing through. They offer a cook to order breakfast with menu items you can select, as well as buffet style options. They also offer a free baked cookie with your stay. We typically book Best Western hotels to earn rewards towards free nights so have stayed in our share of BW and this was the cleanest room that offered all of the amenities needed for a very comfortable stay. This hotel should be the model standard for all BW hotels!!!
This is a very nice BW property, well maintained, nice clean room. They have tickets for the made to order breakfast, which was delicious and a bit more than many similar hotels. The family enjoyed this experience.
My husband booked it and I was skeptical about it but turned out great. Cute room!! First, the shower was awesome- and tall enough for my husband. Bed was good also; my husband had back issues but slept through the night. Very clean, easy check in, quiet. For a decent place off the interstate, highly recommended (and way more convenient than nearby Roseburg).
Check-in was easy and fast! Few little surprises at check in. One was the free cookie per guest form their very own bakery. There were so many to choose from, kids loved them and adults did too. We found our room to be on the bottom floor and we parked steps away from the front door. The room itself was a little smaller than I had in mind. If you're looking for spacious walking around room, a double queen room isn't for you. We had two children, my wife and myself. This is was a pit stop on our way to the redwoods. We spent the evening at the indoor pool, which is across the parking lot in its own building. The pool is heated and the hot tub wasn't working when we were there. There was a stand up shower located on the backside of the pool perimeter. The changing room was spacious, however not much seating area. There are some chairs around but not a whole bunch. I didn't see any pool toys available so bring your own. Water pressure in the room is good, the bed and furniture is updated and the plenty of plugins for your electronics. TV worked just fine and everything worked, they do have DVD players in the room! So bring your own movies! Just don't forget them :-) Breakfast was fantastic. They give each person a small order slip to have it freshly made. You get a choice of omelet, pancakes and meats (bacon or sausage or both). The adult options include potatoes, kids can get sprinkles added with chocolate chips. They offer a waffle maker, bagels, fruits, biscuits and gravy, orange juice, coffee and milk. Great experience overall.
After a full day of driving the coastal highway, we headed inward to Sutherlin. This hotel was very comfortable and relaxing. The next morning we were excited to find out they offered an omelet chef for breakfast! Very good food!
We have family nearby and we've always stayed at the Motel 6 across the way. However, their facility and staff have both gone downhill in recent years and we started looking for another option. A friend recommended the Best Western and we were so pleased with everything. From the moment we got there the two ladies at the front desk greeted is warmly and gave us cookies. From the we checked in which eat super fast and efficient and were given the keys to 107. It's a quiet corner room downstairs close to the dining room. We enjoyed the free crib in the room for our son, walk in shower and the fridge and microwave are essentials when traveling with a small child! We slept great on the comphy soft beds and enjoyed a made to order breakfast. They offer your choice of pancakes, a customizable omelet or customizable eggs with sides. There is also a large selection of other items such as cereals, juices, waffles, biscuits and gravy, coffee, muffins, pastries, fruits and yogurts. We will definitely be staying here every time we visit Sutherlin in the future. Love love love this place!!!
There is very little to see in the town of Sutherlin. It's not far from Roseburg which has more to offer as far as sights. The hotel is well worth the stay. It's is the best hotel I have stayed in a long while. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms are well appointed with personal and tasteful touches. I would stay there again.
I travel for a living and this lodge was the best place I've stayed in the past 6 months. The price was reasonable and the accommodation were outstanding. A bathroom with a window is unheard of. Thank you!
It's been a few years since I stayed here and was looking forward to returning. It is still one of the nicest Best Western Hotels around. Extremely friendly & helpful staff, very clean and well appointed rooms, towels creatively folded like a high end resort, cookies in the evening, and a good cooked to order breakfast in the morning. I plan to return again next month.
All hotels/motels should strive to meet this standard of service. Do not miss the opportunity to stay at this BW lodge. All else is mediocre by comparison. I receive excellent service and treatment every time I visit. Great value for the money!
Excellent except for the TV service - DirectTV. Kept turning off during programs and needed assistance to turn on to begin with. Front Desk Clerk Mary was very helpful and friendly. Hopefully that will be changed when I stay there again.
I stayed one night and was on my own. I liked Sutherlin as opposed to Roseberg as it was small and right off interstate but also has restaurants and coffee shops. This motel room was very clean which is #1 priority. The decor was nice and room was spacious. The ladies (like me) will enjoy the makeup area outside the restroom with magnifying mirror and stool. The other plus is made-to-order breakfast which was delicious. Also, all of the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. My only advice on motel is get first floor if you can't carry luggage up stairs. Another plus to the location is it's a starting point to Highway 38 which is one of the most beautiful drives to the coast to Florence. You drive past rivers and come across a herd of Elk. Highly recommend as a jumping point off of 5 to the coast headed North or from Florence to 5 headed South. Photos are of Highway 38 drive starting from Sutherlin.
Clean, comfortable room. Our stay was three nights. Each day our room was tended to. Friendly accommodating staff. Free baked cookies with your stay. Excellent in house breakfast with chef. Would highly recommend Best Western Plus of Sutherlin to family and friends.
Hubby and I were taking an Anniversary Road trip to Oregon and decided to stop at this wonderful Log Lodge looking hotel. So glad we did! Amazing Hotel, beautiful room, fantastic staff , comfy bed..... need I say more????
The Best Western Plus in Sutherlin is barr none the best kept secret on I5!!! Staff are all customer friendly, Chris at the front desk always has a smile on his face, room service top notch and the Chef Sergio and waitress Brittany make breakfast a wonderful experience PLUS the omelettes Sergio makes to your order are delicious!!!
This hotel is clean, nice, comfortable and located near anything you could want. Breakfast is amazing and the staff is all very kind and friendly. The beds are super soft and they give you a TON of pillows. Cleanliness is obviously important to them and it shows.
Travelling up I5 and in need of a hotel and found this BW. They allow dogs, it's not directly on the highway, it's clean, comfortable, and there's a dog park nearby. We would definitely stop here again.
We always stay at this Best Western, rooms are clean and well appointed, the breakfast is made to order if you want, and excellent. Many choice as well. Easy on and off from the free way but far enough away to avoid noise. They also have many other amenties that we do not use. Free cookie too
Great place to stay. Very comfy beds, great breakfast and friendly staff and very quiet. My husband and I stayed while traveling up to visit friends in Oregon and it was a welcome respite for us. We will definitely stay here again.
I recommend joining the rewards program, it is very worth it! You can take advantage of drink and snack rewards, free stays or cash in for gift cards! awesome cabin style feel and the beds are hard to get out of because of the comfort!
Friendly, reliable and efficient on the phone. Good parking, nice room. Traditional hotel heater worked well. Bed was comfy, bathroom great, good WiFi. Could use more plug ins. One outlet would not hold a plug at all. The breakfast was THE BEST! They charged $20 per dog, which is a lot! We have two clean, well mannered Dachsies. The dog potty area was basically not useable because there were so many bombs. The motel staff needs to ensure the potty area is clean. For $40, I would have liked a place to potty my dogs.
Stayed two nights in Feb at Best Western Hartford. We were greeted warmly by the front desk staff. Our three rooms were all spotlessly clean. The beds are super comfortable. The hotel is centrally located and easy to find off of I-5. Breakfast was cooked to order by Sergio and was most excellent! Thank you... we will be back!
This is our second stay. Easy on/off I-5. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice decor touches in bathroom. Sanitized remotes. Close to excellent Italian restaurant, Pedrotti's. And last but not least, the best hotel breakfast! Made to order omelets along with a full array of other options. Great staff. We will be back.
After many hours on the road, checked into a clean, comfortable room with our small dog. The front desk and cafe staff were helpful and friendly. The establishment was far enough from hwy. noises yet close for easy access. Would definitely stay again!
Very happy with our stay here. The staff was extremely helpful and willing to help. I mentioned that a hook was missing from the bathroom door (the holes were there), and when we returned that evening, a hook was on the door. The free cookies upon arrival are delicious. The pool/spa was a good experience (the ceiling needs repairing, but that didn't affect the swim). The room was clean. Only negative point was the comfy chair by the front window did not have a light near it. It was not easy to read in the chair at night. Breakfast had plenty of options, and I appreciated the made-to-order omelets (you could also have made-to-order eggs or pancakes, and sausage, bacon, and/or country potatoes). My sister enjoyed playing the grand piano in the lobby. The people above us had very heavy footsteps, but we were awake by the time they got up anyway.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. After a long day it is nice to arrive at a destination that is close to I-5, has great staff, and the rooms are clean. There is a chef to cook your eggs the way you like.
Stay at the best Western and have dinner a Pedotti's restaurant. The way boring day on I 5 should end. In a good way. Also, motel has a person cooking breakfast for you; eggs, pancakes or you name it. Good Coffee and hot cookies at night.
Great staff, clean rooms, and the best breakfast deal around. Everyone from the front desk to the breakfast staff were helpful, friendly and very nice. The made to order breakfast is a nice touch that capped off our stay.
I had a long drive during the night and when i got to the hotel the staff helped with checking in early. very pleasant stay.Staff in hotel reception 100% took time to help rooms clean..check in was very good .good hotel to Stay in if your ever passing through Sutherlin Oregon.
I was driving from Portland just before New Year's and the rain was horrendous for hours. I needed to stop but did not want to go to downtown Roseburg. Saw the BW sign in the murky darkness just north of Roseburg and went to check it out. A pleasant surprise-beautiful hotel and a spacious ground floor room for me was available. This hotel is nicely appointed, in the lobby and in the rooms. For breakfast they have a chef making omelettes-and a server who brings them to your table. Fresh homemade oatmeal and other good breakfast items. The staff is very friendly and engaging. I plan to stay here again in the future when passing through to Portland or Seattle and I have recommended it to my family and friends. Great value for the money. I was very pleased over all!
The Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge is a find! Traveling from Northern California to Northern Idaho? Mid-point is around Sutherlin, Oregon. Best place in Sutherlin is this hotel. The staff is great, the bed is the most comfortable we've found in years. Made to order breakfast is a real plus. Reasonable costs for sundries, beer and wine.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this is our lodge of choice on I-5 from Eugene to Grants Pass by far. We asked if our Daughter in Law and grandchildren could join us for breakfast and for a very small fee our need was accommodated allowing those extra minutes of quality family time together. Love this place!
We stayed at this hotel when it's just opened, found out that all the materials were brought in from far away and very impressed about the look. We've been coming back for more stays, especially to enjoy the comfort of the rooms as well as the various flavor offered in the breakfast room.
The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcomed. The night clerk opened the laundry room for us so we could wash clothes. My son took advantage of the free made to order breakfast and said it was excellent. I decided to sleep in and was able to because the bed was so comfortable.
The hotel was lovely. Love the rustic log cabin look. The rooms were wonderful and had everything I needed. Loved that it had a larger frig in the room and microwave also. This Hotel had the most comfortable bed. I did not want to get out of it. So cozy
Best Western in Sutherlin was a perfect gathering place for our mens and women's high school basketball team. They allowed us to use their conference room throughout our stay (and even allowing us to use it into the afternoon of our last day) where we fed 20+ athletes and coaches for three days. It was a perfect place to gather, as was the breakfast area in the morning. The food they served was plentiful and good. The athletes had their fill and there was enough variety to please all of the hearty eaters and the picky eaters. The hotel accommodated us when we asked for late check out and quickly responded to all of our requests promptly and courteously. I would highly recommend this hotel for individual families and teams traveling to tournaments in the area.
There were many motels and inns on our path to the coast but we chose to go out of our way to stay at this Best Western. I have not been disappointed during any of my stays here and I will return as the opportunity is needed.
Always stay here when visiting family in the area. It has become our home away from home. The staff is always efficient and friendly. The rooms are consistently clean and comfortable. The included "custom," freshly-made breakfast is the best you'll find anywhere! And the complimentary cookies at check-in make it perfect!!
We have stayed here on previous trips. They are very friendly, the rooms are clean and very comfortable beds. The breakfast is excellent, lots of choices, prepared as you arrive and served hot to your table..Check in staff always friendly and very helpful.Very convenient to resturants, coffee shops and stores.Nice little town with very friendly people. The Motel is quiet and just off the interstate. We like the lodge look and the use of wood throughout.
This was a stop along a cross country move from Southwest Florida to Seattle, Washington. We were traveling with our rescue dog, so it was necessary to find properties and make reservations ahead of time. I researched tripadvisor, as I always do before making reservations, and this trip was no exception. It's my "go to" before reserving anywhere! We had a long drive on this leg and were tired. Previous reviews I read were spot on. We had a terrific experience. Checking in was a pleasant experience and the room comfortable and clean. Traveling with a pet can be tricky with regard to a room, but this did not disappoint. Even the dog area was clean from waste and easily accessible from the room. Breakfast was made to order and good. We usually skip this amenity, but decided to give it a try and were glad we did. I just cannot say enough about the property and the extremely friendly front desk staff we encountered. I highly recommend a stay.
Of the BW plus hotels that we have stayed at over the past several years, this is one of the best, for value, quality of the room, and service. One of the most outstanding features is the breakfast, which is totally made to order, which makes a great start to the travel day. It is so good, I overheard others say they were there for a second day. The hotel is located just off the highway, but is incredibly quiet.
Beautiful cozy fireplace in main lobby along with comfortable seating welcomed us at check-in. Stairs and elevator open into another inviting seating area on second floor. Looks and feels like a mountain lodge. Wonderful indoor hot tub and heated pool helped us to unwind after a busy day. Laundry facilities are available - 1 washer and 1 dryer, along with detergent and dryer sheets from a vending machine. Free made to order breakfast and/or breakfast bar is included in stay, and was a nice surprise. The friendly staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. Room was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, pillowtop beds were comfy, and our stay was very peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. Thank you!
Super clean, comfortable, and quiet rooms, with great water pressure. Amazingly friendly and welcoming staff, as always. Certainly not our first stay at Hartford Lodge, and will definitely not be our last. Highly recommended.
Tippy top for BW hotels! Lovely rooms, great breakfast and a quiet nights sleep. Highly recommend this location. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the chef cooks your breakfast just how you like it. Can't get much better than that.
We were pleased to check into the lodge! It felt like a resort! The wash clothes and towels were folded like at Disney! The facility was clean and comfortable! The staff was charming. Complimentary fresh made cookies! Plus a wonderful fresh cooked breakfast! Very nice!
This was a nice place to stay, the rooms were clean, the breakfast included was good much better than most continental breakfasts offered. Also loved the fresh baked cookies every morning. The staff was very nice and accommodating.
Hotel was a welcome surprise and highly recommended. Great value for money, cook to order breakfast included in price. Thoughtful touches, small bottles of wine available for purchase, separate make-up mirror area, cleaned remote in pouch etc. Friendly and professional staff - good job!
Very clean rooms. Highly skilled chef at the breakfast grille preparing custom omelets among other breakfast choices! Hotel was easy to find. The property exterior was very well kept. Staff was excellent. Bed was very confortable.
We came from Idaho already knowing the Roseburg/Sutherlin area pretty good. Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was put together so nicely! I love the shampoo/soap/etc products they have there! Also, their breakfast is great!:)
Big sign says, CAFE and BAKERY, laughable.... should say Breakfast Room and Cookie cabinet....they won't let you bring your dog to breakfast so you have to eat alone then the wife gets to eat alone...or if you insist on taking a plate to your room the make you sign for the plate and fork....must have alot of shady customers Room very crowded with too much furniture
The staff was so nice! I can't rave enough about the staff. The check in staff was very polite and even more importantly happy. The pool and spa was clean and my family enjoyed it. Breakfast was a surprise as it was cook to order with a full compliment of regular buffet items. The chef and breakfast staff were very courteous and work extremely hard. I was impressed by this lodge.
Friendly staff and I enjoy the made to order breakfast along with the other choices. This hotel is very convenient for us to visit family in the area. If you are needing a hotel near Sutherlin this is the place to go.
This is the third time that we've stayed there; after all, it is a convenient day drive from the Canadian border. Check in is a warm experience with freshly baked cookies and coffee. The room was well furnished and clean, The king-sized bed was very comfortable allowing us to have a good night's sleep. Breakfast was quite complete and even included wonderful cooked to order omlettes. The chef has been there for a number of years.
this motel is great. nice indoor heated pool and hot tub. outdoor seating area with tables a nice place to relax and just talk. they have a great breakfast that actually taste good which makes the value of the room even better. I was surprised how nice it looked inside and out. very comfortable place to stay. the people that worked there were so nice. I loved it. I think it is a five star motel.
We have stated here twice on our way from Washington to California. On both visits the staff has been helpful, the rooms have been clean and comfortable, and the 'cooked to order' breakfast' has been very good.
My wife and I have stayed here over the last 3 years and will continue to go back. The staff, facilities, breakfasts are all wonderful. This is a place not to miss if your traveling in the area. The Lodge was full most nights but quite as could be which few lodging places are like this.
Regularly pass through Sutherin to and from Grandma's house. ALWAYS stay here because it is the best. Best value, best restaurant, best cleanliness, best staff, etc. Highly recommend it. Especially the breakfast. Never found anything quite like this anywhere.
The rewards program was very difficult and time consuming. tried to use rewards at another best western on 9-23 17 and could not do it on internet and was told on the phone that rewards were not available at that hotel. After some assistance from desk clerk at this hotel was able to use rewards points. This hotel provides a single blanket which is way too heavy. Should be at least 2 light blankets for more choice of warmth. We pushed the heavy blanket on and off all night
I do not recommend these shady business dealers at all,,,,, Do not stay in this hotel THet are shady I will be contacting the manager and will be going to their corporate offices if necessary They accused me of stealing a pillow and are charging me 35.00 !!!
Easy on/off I-5. Nice hotel for dogs with plenty of grass. For breakfast you can get it made to order or the usual fast hotel breakfast. The room was very comfortable and nice to have a fridge. The staff was very friendly and I would stay here again if I'm ever in the area.
Excellent travel stop. I highly recomend this as a stop over hotel. The staff were very welcoming, the hotel was well presented with great facilities. You even get a wonderful in house made cookie on arrival! The rooms even had the towels folded into animal shapes. Overall a wonderful nights sleep and a great stop over. We have defiantly marked this one for a return trip.
From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the smile and courteous hello I receive from Breanna, I knew I was at a 5 star hotel. Breanna was extremely courteous and responsive to all my questions and needs. She was super sweet!! The room was amazing, with a great layout, no paper, all glassware, towel folded in shapes and even a cotton jar on the makeup counter!! Finally, Chef Sergio satisfied my taste buds with a tasty custom breakfast. All this, a 5-star treatment and a low low price! One of the best experiences I've had at any hotel including the more pricier ones!! A+
The staff were friendly and always available to answer questions. The pine buildings, rooms and furniture were unique and comfortable. The pool is offset from the rooms and main building and was really enjoyable. At breakfast, besides the full buffet, we were able to choose omelet fillings and they were then served to us. This is a great choice if you are anywhere in the surrounding area.
This two-story hotel tucked in pines right off I-5 is a clean, quiet, comfortable stay. The made-to-order omelettes and pancakes are an extra touch! The front desk staff is friendly and efficient. This is a great place to stay about 45 minutes south of Eugene, from U of O games.
We usually stay at this hotel twice a year. The employees are always friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfastsmells are good, they make a little breakfast for you or you can get your own goodies. We like the indoor pool. Great pizza place down the road. Easy to get to.
We are currently staying at the Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge on a weekly basis as we are working in Sutherlin, Oregon. This is an exceptionally nice hotel, it is of nicer quality than the area itself that it is located in. Mary, the manager worked with us on a competitive rate because of the length of our stay, which was very helpful. The hotel has a great staff, very, VERY clean rooms with comfortable beds, awesome made to order breakfast and beautifully landscaped as well as maintained property. We highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure, its one of the "best" Best Westerns we've ever stayed at, and we travel all over the country. Thanks for a great job, keep it up!
We would highly recommend this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The fresh cookies were worth the trip. The rooms were clean and the was attention to detail which made me smile. The swan wash clothes were super cool!
Stayed at the location on business. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the room comfortable and well appointed. They served a full breakfast starting early, which worked for my schedule. I would recommend this to anyone.
We stayed on a stop-over as we drove down through Oregon. The welcome was warm, rooms comfortable and the pool fairly average. Breakfast was pretty good but do watch the 9am deadline if you're not travelling on business. We nearly missed it and they genuinely shut the door into the breakfast room when the time comes round! We've no complaints and to be fair it's more of a 3.5 than a 3 star review but I think the number of 5 star reviews is slightly over-selling the Hartford Lodge.
We broke down on the I-5 just north of Sutherlin, OR. As it was Monday on a long weekend no repair shops were open. The tow truck driver suggested the BW, we agreed. The staff was most helpful, we got into a room before we should have as we had no where to go. On the Tuesday we contacted the repair shop and were told that they weren't sure what was wrong yet. We called down to the front desk and they offered us a later check out time. We got the call the vehicle was ready and went down and checked out. The desk clerk asked if we had a ride to the repair shop and we asked if a taxi was available, was told the town didn't have a taxi service. The desk clerk then said she would find a staff member to give us a ride (it was about 2 miles away). The staff member was very helpful gave us a hand with the luggage. Overall we were most impressed with any BW staff we ran into. The recommendation for a place to eat turned into a very pleasant experience also. The breakfast in the morning at the hotel was a very welcome surprise, we were expecting the usual continental breakfast of pastries and fruit. Made to order eggs or an omelet, bacon, sausages, waffles and porridge. WOW!! The Lodge was very clean and up to date. The staff went above and beyond for us. Just wish I had had a bathing suit to jump into the pool. :(
We recently stayed here when travleing up to Washington. The area was very smoky due tk area wildfires so we were nervous the rooms inside would be smoked out. They werent too bad as long as u limited the use of the AC which was difficult since there was also a heat wave going on. Here is our experience: The good: Clean beds and bathroom Updated furnishings Really good cooked to order breakfast Clean and maintained property Pleasant staff The not so good but not deal breakers: A few spots on carpet Closet doors off track Toilet clogged Overall this is one of the better Best Westerns I have stayed at. If ever in the area again we would stay again.
This is an older hotel that has been renovated very well. At first sight it is a hotel with outside entrances that I have always taken as a lower level hotel/motel. The lobby and the staff were extremely helpful and nice at arrival and departure. You get a morning breakfast with a fresh omelet "actual eggs not pour out eggs" and your choice of meat. I would stay here on business again for sure.
I've stayed her before and I'll stay here again. The rooms is nice, clean and looks fresh and new. The staff is always warm and welcoming. The cookies are a great touch.. and they have variety and they're all baked on site! It was fun to see the fresh jams and jellies they make. They have a chef! Who custom makes breakfast... to go with the fantastic continental breakfast (and all for free). The spa and pool were relaxing.
the rooms are clean, beds comfortable, good bathrooms..yes it ticks all of the check boxes and there is nothing wrong with this place, you get what you paid for, but there is nothing special here. I don't understand the over the top reviews?
Best Western, Hartford Inn, Sutherlin, OR overall was a very good experience. Room was generally very clean except for a problem with bathtub plug being moldy. Bed was comfortable and all amenities were in working order. Swimming pool and hot tub were great after a long drive. Staff was friendly and helpful.
This is hands down the best hotel I have stayed at in the Oakland/Roseburg area! Amazing staff, very comfy bed, nice warm pool, and great breakfast :) The only problem we ran into was the restriction of bringing food from breakfast back to your room. I was traveling with a toddler, and they can be so wasteful with food that I felt bad about throwing away a waffle or a bagel with just one bite out of it......
We always stay at The Hartford Lodge in Sutherlin, OR on our way home from visiting our kids in San Diego, CA and other vacations when we venture from home. We can always count on excellent service and an excellent stay at The Hartford Lodge.
The Plus series is a nice step up from the regular Best Western hotels especially the quality of the breakfast and the size and comfort of the rooms. Nice decor, well cleaned and wifi that doesn't drop off. Also a quiet air con unit
We weren't expecting a 5 star hotel in this location, but I'd give this one a very solid 4 stars. The rooms were very clean, and they looked like they have been recently upgraded. While not huge, they were certainly not cramped. We were afraid there would be noise from I5 at night, but it was actually quite quiet. I also appreciated a decent room air conditioner that didn't rattle and roar like so many do. Breakfast wasn't bad, mainly because have a chef cooking the eggs to order. We waited only minutes for our eggs to be delivered to us. Other than the eggs, the breakfast is pretty typical "breakfast included" fare. One recommendation would be to include a better selection of fresh fruit. The desk and dining room staff were very efficient and pleasant.
We satayed only one night at this hotel. The room was clean although a little stuffy . I assume because of the heat . It was very clean otherwise. The linens and towels were a bright white and smelled like mine do at home ( I always add a little bleach for cleanliness) The toiletries were above the normal standard and so was the breakfast. Everyone met you with a smile and hello and all the staff was helpful. I woould stay there again.
When in the Sutherlin, OR area; this is the place to stay. Friendly and caring staff. Clean room and comfy bed. Wonderful stay and will stay here again when travelin' up the road. You can't go wrong when choosing this place.
We've stayed twice at this hotel in central Oregon - nice rooms, plenty of pillows on the bed, and a very good cooked to order breakfast. It's far enough off the highway too so that there's no road noise.
This place had exactly what I needed when on the long haul from Southern California to the Northern Oregon Coast. Easy access to and from the room (with lots of stuff), easy parking for a truck and boat, friendly and courteous staff, and all the amenities one could want. I didn't go to the pool, so I guess I can't really comment on that part. But the bed was comfortable, the room was nice and clean, breakfast was pretty good, really top notch all around..
Enjoyed our stay twice in seven days. Good beds. Great area to air out our girls. Good wine selection. Staff were very accommodating. Only serious issue is water is very high in chlorine. My wife is allergic, so she was unable to shower.
Heading from the coast up to Crater Lake we stopped here overnight. We were surprised at the overall quality of what in essence is a motorway hotel. It's location isn't prepossessing but it is convenient. The hotel is on a spacious site with parking close to the rooms. The latter aren't enormous but they were comfortable and well maintained. A conventional breakfast was included and partially cooked to order. The hotel also had a range of bakery products for day time snacks. There were a few very conventional motorway service area style restaurants in the immediate vicinity and a few more in Sutherlin just down the road. The staff were very helpful, well-informed and approachable. All-in-all this is a good place to break a journey.
The best thing about this hotel is that there was actually a King sized bed in the room! The hotel is an older one, but the rooms have been updated some time in the last 5 - 10 years and are quite comfortable. The bed was actually a king sized bed, unlike all the other hotels I stayed at on this trip that were supposed to be king size and were actually queen sized. The bed was fairly comfortable, but besides the sheets there was only a heavy comforter on the bed and no blanket option. As a result, I woke up sweaty from the heavy comforter and the only option was to crank the A/C so the room was cold and I wouldn't get hot underneath the comforter. The bathroom and shower were ok, but the shower drain was partially clogged, so after a few minutes in the shower there was about 3" of water in the tub - not cool. The breakfast option was a little odd. You have to pick up a card from the front desk with your room number on it (yes, your room number is actually written on the card), select from a few options, and give it to the staff so they can give you a breakfast plate. The 'cafe' also had several cold items like dry cereal, some oatmeal, bread and bagels you can toast, etc, and plenty of juice and milk. The serving sizes were pretty small. My portion of breakfast potatoes was probably one large lemon-sized potato cut up into inch-sized chunks. The eggs options were scrambled or over-easy. Overall, the breakfast was lacking.
Overall this is the sweetest best western we've been to on the West Coast. And its one of the cheapest as well. The only downside in my opinion is none of rooms have Jacuzzi tubs and the one by the pool is not hot enough
The beds were so comfy amazing that I slept like a baby. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. The remodeled place looked and felt like new. Also what a blessing to be able to have your pets stay with you here. They are part of our families and I saw a few families with them. I am grateful for this acceptance of our family pets.
We stayed in a total of six Best Western hotels, Red Lion, Rodeway Inn, and others during this trip. Best Western hotels are the best. They have hot full breakfast with bacon, sausage, eggs, waffles, yogurt, etc. This particular Best Western has the BEST breakfast, they have a cook who will make you omelet and pancakes. You can also pick you eggs scrambled, sunny-side up, medium, easy, etc. In the evening, they have free baked cookies. The swimming pool is indoor and there is a hot sauna. My kids spent about 2 1/2 hours in that pool from 8pm-10pm, so I really like the fact that it's indoor. Unfortunately, we left one of our walkie-talkie in the swimming pool area (on top of a chair), and we can not find it the next morning. We checked with the front desk and they didn't see it either.
A very nice little hotel, lovely surroundings, unexpected location. The front desk staff was very welcoming and able to answer all my questions. PS the Italian restaurant across the street also very nice!
Rooms are what you'd expect from any budget chain hotel, which is to say, nothing to write home about-- but also, nothing to complain about. Fridge has large freezer and each room has a microwave and coffee maker. WiFI works fine. Pool made kids happy. What's really excellent here is the service: genuine, professional, and engaged. And the breakfast, which is included in the rate, makes staying here a super value. In addition to cooked to order omelettes, eggs, or pancakes, there's a breakfast bar with DIY waffles, oatmeal, breads, fruit, and yogurt. Parking is also included. Definitely stay here if you're traveling to or through Surherlin.
We stayed there on our way up to Olympic National Park, Washington, from California, and on our way back, too!! Very nice place!!!! Great staff, comfortable beds, nice decor (love all the folded towels, really classy touch)! And the breakfast, cook to order eggs, great selection, cookies a nice treat at night!!!! Also, easy on and off the freeway for our road trip!! Only suggestion for management is better coffee pods in rooms! Love having a cup while getting dressed. Stayed in three other hotels on our travels and I was so happy with their coffee packs, darker roast! Yours was a very weak, but I know that's our preference. But that was it! All good here! Thank you for making our road trip comfortable and friendly. Your staff was outstanding and should be praised!!!
Bed was too soft and lumpy. Had big dip in middle of mattress. Located at end of street but near the freeway. Breakfast was ok. Had good variety for a hotel breakfast but the person cooking eggs needed to learn how to cook them better.
We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge in Sutherlin, OR. They were very courteous and attentive. The rooms are pleasantly appointed with a few nice extra touches. My husband enjoyed the indoor pool.
Love the cook to order breakfast. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Had a problem wth the TV remote, called front desk and problem was fixed within a matter of minutes. Since I ALWAYS stay at this hotel when traveling north to WA, staff remembers me - LOVE IT!!!!!
This motel is 5 star! All the amenities that you need in your room. A free cookie when you check in and free cooked to order in the café attached to the lobby. Very friendly and helpful staff! A short walk to a convenience store, although they have a few items in the lobby for late night munching. Everything was impressively clean! The bath towels were large and soft and not a stain in sight! Wonderful place!
We stayed here after we visited the safari. It is unexpectedly delightful, like free cookies at check in, the wash cloths fashioned as swans, the "green" toiletries of sandlewood soap, rose & patchouli shampoo and conditioner. The room is decorated as one would be at a lodge, a lot of wood, and I enjoyed the vanity counter outside of the bathroom. The front desk staff are friendly and personable, and the "cooked for you" breakfast was good, and they had bacon at this BW. The only "off" point was that the room smelled kind of powdery, like an "old lady" fragrance. Since I noticed this at the previous BW we stayed at, it may be one of the cleaning items BW uses. Definitely would stay there again.
Spent 1 night at this hotel as we headed back to Arizona. This is a newer BW Plus hotel and they are really taking care of the small details in the room. Our room was very clean and pleasantly decorated. The swan folded towels in the bathroom and the magnified makeup mirror were a huge hit with the female members of the family. The A/C was COLD & Quiet which was fantastic. Chef cooked eggs and waffles were served in the morning along with the other standard breakfast fare. As a BW Platinum Rewards member, I've stayed in my fare share of BWs and this is one of my top 5. Will certainly stay here again on our next road trip to the Pacific Northwest.
The staff was freindly and helpful. The hotel had been remodeled a few years back. The town wa small but we ate at Pedotti's and it was also a nice restaurant with friendly owners and good food. I highly recommend this hotel.
Very relaxing stay with the best employees, we would make sure we stayed here on our next trip. Very pet friendly with a great location. The amenities were great with a pool inside so no matter the weather you can enjoy it.
The lodge is very nice from the outside. Theo is are basic but clean. The pool is indoors and not at a bad temperature. The staff is very helpful and are willing to do anything to make your stay enjoyable. Their are a couple of restaurants that are close and not to bad. This is a good safe place to stay with families.
Nice place just off I5 in Oregon. Very clean property with easy highway access. Cookies at ckin and free breakfast in the AM. ( may depend on rate) Breakfast was easy - pick up a coupon at front desk, ck the items you want and hand it in to the chef or waitress. Fresh hot omelet in a couple of minutes! Rooms were clean. Lots of towels. Lots of pillows and comfy beds. Entrance is a bit confusing since you have to turn onto a side street and go past the sign. Big trucks parked along the road blocked visibility. A great value and a nice play to stay - especially if headed to Crater Lake.
We were traveling from California to Washington and booked this hotel for a one night stay over. It was just what we needed. It was an easy access off of Interstate 5 and fairly quiet for being so close to the freeway. The staff was friendly and helpful. We asked for a restaurant suggestion and they pointed us to Pedotti's Italian and it was very good. A nice, clean family run restaurant..
They actually cook your breakfast! You have the normal buffet to choose from while you wait for your omelette, bacon, eggs or pancakes. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had a window that opened - really like an operating window in the bathroom! Indoor pool/spa area was excessively warm. Had to open doors to cool the place off.
Beautiful lodge style hotel with delicious breakfast prepared by a professional cook. The rooms were immaculate and finished with spa style detail including artfully arranged towels and washcloths. Would definitely stay here again should I travel this way.
stayed at this hotel on our way home from a family reunion in Washington state. the rooms are nice and clean and everything worked pretty well. the air conditioning got the room fairly cool, since it was above 100 degrees outside. the breakfast was very good. cooked to order eggs and omelets, choice of meats, potatoes, etc. the lady at the front desk gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner
Steve at the front desk warmly welcomed us (with cookies!) around midnight. We found this gem on trip advisor as we headed down I-5. Great find, and we will stay again on our way back up north. Very clean, beds so comfortable, polite staff, excellent made to order breakfast, quiet and peaceful. Thank you!
Built in the early 1990s, this hotel has clearly had a face lift. The room is very modern and very comfortable. The lobby has a grand piano under a huge chandelier. The people were very friendly. We had a good night's rest followed by an outstanding, made-to-order breakfast (included in the price) in the hotel's breakfast-only cafe. This place is slightly hard to find. It's the first left heading east off the Interstate. Our GPS got confused, but cellphone navigation did not.
Made to order omelets at breakfast. What a treat. Great staff. Dog friendly. Comforty beds, pillows. Clean rooms. Close freeway when it's time to leave. Our favorite stop from Washington to California.
Very clean with an excellent breakfast and excellent service. We booked two rooms for our group and both were very clean. My only complaint is that the bed was a little too soft for what I like. Loved the shower head in the bathroom.
The staff at this hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and updated with very nice bathroom. Having a hot breakfast included is a major consideration for us. Here you can see the cook make your eggs to order so you know it's fresh. The breakfast was great!
This is a very clean, comfortable place to stay while traveling north or south on Interstate 5 through Oregon. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is the best I have experienced at a motel.
We had the BEST nights sleep, awesome breakfast, comfortable room with all your needs met. They had an indoor pool and workout facilities we would have used if we had gotten there earlier. Oh - and a great little taco truck with a huge menu just up the street a bit!
I am a repeat visitor, this is an above average BWPlus facility. Clean and comfortable. splits my drive from Seattle toStockton just about perfectly. I am very pleased with this facility and I recommend that you spend the little extra for the Best Western Plus properties.
The rooms are clean, well equipped and comfortable. The staff are friendly, courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. I would recommend the Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge to everyone traveling through Sutherlin, Oregon.
The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good. I liked the appearance of the motel when I drove up. My kids were thrilled that they got a free cookie and were able to swim.
Overall very well designed hotel layout. Pool is a separate building so there is some privacy that is nice so you don't feel like you're being "watched" . Breakfast was made to order by a chef. Rooms were very quiet.
Great place after a long 6 hours of driving. We were ready to stop and this was the perfect location. We were unable to take advantage of the pool and spa, next time will try to get there earlier. They take very good care of this facility.
we only stayed one night but check in was quick and easy. room was clean. fitness center was in a room upstairs-got the job done. we didn't have time to check out the pool. very good breakfast. slept very well in the king bed. would stay here again.
I am a Best Western Platinum member and love Best Westerns. They are pretty consistent in quality and generally pet friendly. This one was no exception. Good facilities, nice beds and fast Wi-fi. Off the freeway so not much noise. Nice place for the pet area. The breakfast each morning offered a cooked to order meal, giving you eggs or omelets to order OR pancakes with choice of potatoes, bacon or sausage. The rest was ala cart (toast, waffles, biscuits, gravy, etc). When we checked in I confirmed the rate, received it in writing and went to our room. We stayed there two nights, enjoying the local area. The last night we noticed a large bubble forming on the ceiling under the paint. We were on the first floor with one room above us. This was about 10:30 pm. Liquid was dripping out of the bubble, which was growing larger, onto the bed. I went to the office and notified the night clerk who sprang into action to make phone calls. I asked her if we should pack our things to prepare to move and she said she didn't think so. I went back to the room. About ten min later the desk clerk showed up with a bucket and towels. My wife again asked if we should pack up to move. The clerk again said she did not think so. I told her I was not going to sleep in that room with water dripping in a bucket not knowing if the ceiling was going to fall on us. At that point her phone rang and she left the room. She returned a few min later with a luggage cart. Said they just had a cancellation and was moving us to a new room, which they did. When I checked out the next morning I noticed my bill was higher than the quoted cost of which I had a printed confirmation. The desk clerk looked into the computer and saw that the "manager" had changed the rate higher to take into account a rate change from Friday to Saturday night. He also made the comment the the customer (me) was not informed of the rate change. I told the clerk I was not going to pay the higher rate because I had the rates in writing and was never notified. He said he would have the day manager fix it when she came in. Taking him at his word we left. A couple of hours later my wife received a call telling her the price issue was reverted back to the quoted price. While I appreciate them fixing this, two things here. 1) They should have never made the cost change without first notifying me (the customer) and making sure I would agree to it, and 2) Because of the issue with the leaking ceiling and having to move in the middle of the night we should have either been offered a discount or comped the second night. Not overly supportive on customer service and as a Platinum member that is disappointing.
My grandchildren loved the option to swim from morning to night. We got a lot of use out of that. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. The chef had a great personality. The breakfast was like a five-star breakfast. The staff was very friendly. They wanted to make sure everything was OK. They were very sincere. The cookies at check-in were very fresh and nice to have after a long drive.
Needed rest before heading any further home. It was nice Holiday weekend and not much available online. Got lucky to book here. We had the pup and they still booked us. The last room available for pets too. Very comfy beds. Clean restroom and nice amenities too. Great food options very near hotel. Can't wait for our cooked to order omelettes in the morning. Adding photos tomorrow to tired tonight Try Abby's pizza it yummy and they delivered to our room. ;-).
This is a clean and friendly hotel with great amenities. Near by restrants are lovely. A breakfast served individually by a chef on the premises. Rooms are very clean. Location was easy to find. Near by coffee houses
On our recent family visit to Roseburg, OR we dedided to stay at the BWP Hartford Lodge at Sutherlin OR. We were very pleased with our stay. The rooms are a great value with amenities like a good size refrigerator, microwave , safe, big screen TV, extremely comfortable beds and a magnifying mirror. The eggs and pancakes for your breakfast are cooked to order and brought to your table. The staff is very friendly and eager to please. We will definitely stay there again at our next visit to the area. Sigjar
We got a Best Western Map of Oregon, and discovered that there was a Best Western in Southerlin. What a nice surprise, and a welcome place to stop for the night. Everything about it was appealing and welcoming. The breakfast was great and even had a made-to-order option.
We have family in Sutherlin Oregon. Rather then invade them, we always stay at the Hartford Lodge in town. We were put on to this hotel by our family. They stayed there when they were looking to buy a place there in Sutherlin. They really spoke highly of it. We have stayed there 5 times now and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. I can honestly say they are the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at any hotel. My wife and I travel a lot so we have many places to compare to. The rooms are always clean and the beds are very comfortable. The food in the dining room is cooked to perfection. I can't imagine anyone staying there and not being very happy with their stay.
This is the best Best Western Hotel I have ever stayed in. The place is beautiful, the staff are wonderful and they even provide a hot cooked to order breakfast. There is a bakery with wonderful cookies. The owners of this hotel have made this into a place that I want to return to again and again.
Spent two nights there. There were quite a few of us in town for a family reunion. The staff let us use the lobby area to gather and reminisce about old times. Their breakfast is included and it is very good, lots of choices and a grill for fresh omelettes and hash browns. Coffee is too weak though. The rooms are very clean and the bed is very comfortable.
This hotel offered many more amenities in room than usual with an extra vanity outside the bathroom which included a make-up mirror. The presentation in the bathroom was reminiscent of a cruise ship. The cookies upon check-in were delicious. The room was spacious, super clean and comfortable. It was also quiet.
BW Plus Hartford Lodge is our day-one destination to overnight when making the trip up I-5 from Southern California to Vancouver a couple of times per year. The first day drive can be long, often with a late arrival, but Hartford Lodge is worth the effort, and has yet to disappoint. Staff is always incredibly welcoming, facilities are very clean, and bedding/pillows are super comfortable and cozy. Lots of hot water pressure for a great shower in the morning. Once we found Hartford Lodge in Sutherlin, we have yet to stay elsewhere when making the trek up I-5.
I have spent about a dozen nights in BW and BW Plus properties in the last year or so in Washington and Oregon. This property does not, in my opinion, meet the Plus designation when considering the room size, furnishings condition and bathroom finishes. I chose it because Plus properties are usually that, a Plus. Not this property so be aware.
One of the best Best Westerns in my experience and easy access to highway. On sight chef to prepare breakfasts was unexpected and he did a great job when it seemed we all showed up for breakfast at the same time!
The staff is so kind and thoughtful. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. We have to come to town often for family reasons, and we always choose this hotel. Very clean and quiet. The breakfast can't be beat!
At check in they had a phamplet with all you need to know. They had items to sell in a fridge very convenient just a lovely place and just some special items that I have not seen at a Best Western before. Room was lovely and very comfortable, bed was perfect.
We needed a hotel for the night, while moving. The Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge was perfect. Very clean and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast and very comfortable bed. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
This hotel experience was better than any weve done. We would definitely choose a best Western plus in the future. The staff was welcoming and sweet. The chef went above and beyond. Traveling for over ten hours then staying here was exactly what we needed.
Arrived one day after my reservation. Yuk! But the desk clerk, Tricia and her manager was great. They refunded and applied my charges to this night's stay. How great! The property is a BWPlus so it has some additional amenities such as refreshments for sale in the lobby; cookies all day/night. The property is clean and well maintained. There is an elevator to the 2nd level. Beds are comfortable. All in all a 4-star.
This is a Best Western Plus hotel and one of their finest. From the comfortable beds to the spacious rooms, we go out of our way to stay here. The made-to-order complimentary breakfast is second to none. Wayne prepares your omelette, eggs, or pancakes exactly as you specify. There is a large variety of other breakfast items to choose from. The staff is dedicated to service with a smile and your complete satisfaction.
staff is very well trained, hotel should be a model for all other best western facilities - great breakfast, pillows and bedding superior to most hotels, 5 diamond quality - hotel is spotless and employees take pride in providing such - restaurant for dinner near by, one block, locals from Roseburg visit regularly, ADA equipped, great value
We have been staying here for 6 years. The motel is clean and comfortable. The beds are greaat and the cooked to order breakfasts are very good. We highly recommend this motel. We find the staff to be very welcoming and helpful. They also have an indoor pool.
Very nice hotel we have never been that far south before. I think we will return again next year and we wilk stay there again. We espically enjoyed the made to order breakfast it was tasty and easy. Most hotels only offer stale bagels
Stayed here on a business trip, and would have driven into Roseburg if I would have known what awaited me. This seems to be an older property that's been remodeled, and housekeeping was slacking off, as the room was not as clean as one would expect for a BW Plus property. I was given a room by the ice machine, which is no big deal until a couple drunken fishermen raided the ice machine around midnight, waking me up. I will say the breakfast is one of the finest I've had however.
Stayed just one night here on drive down to California but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Checkin was quick and the clerk was incredibly friendly. Room was larger than what I expected and very clean. Bathroom had a frosted glass window, sink and combo tub/shower. Outside the bathroom was an additional little vanity area with mirror and marble (?) countertop. Wash clothes folded into little swans were another nice touch. Next door is a McDonald's and across from that is a nice little family Italian restaurant named Pedittos. What was really nice was the cooked to order breakfast. You fill out a little card, hand it to the waitress and they cook it right there in the breakfast room in front of you. Overall, I would recommend staying here over any hotel in Roseberg. They're only about 10 miles apart but this hotel makes the extra drive worth it.
By far the best beds I have ever stayed in at a hotel or lodge. The people are wonderful. The food was fabulous. The rooms so darn cute with special little touches. We loved it. We will be back. Can't say enough good things about this experience. Just perfect!
In all my travels, the staff at Best Western Hartford Lodge ranks at the top. Everyone always has a smile and a hello, along with going the extra mile for customers, from housekeeping to front desk and the breakfast cafe staff. They take you back to that time when corporations actually made customer satisfaction a top priority.
Beginning in the lobby, nice wood paneling and very nice decor. Same for the room, and nice touches like wash cloths folded into swans. This seems a little thing, but it shows that the people working there are interested in making you feel welcome. The breakfast (included) was excellent. They have a cook who will make you an omelet to order, plus plenty of sides.
We spent one night at this location as we were traveling for business. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was great and the breakfast was beyond our expectations. Everything was wonderful. We will all hotels were as pleasant to stay at as this one was!
One of the best Best Western Hotels we have ever stayed in. Nice, welcoming lobby with a helpful friendly staff. Even a nightly cookie if you choose. Everything was very clean and comfortable. While our room was a bit on the small size, it had everything we needed. We found the beds to be quite comfortable and the room to be quiet, enabling us all to get a good nights sleep. The breakfast not only included the standard fare but also made to order eggs, omelettes or pancakes. A wonderful staff did a great job at keeping everything well stocked and fresh. It truly felt like we got a real breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel. It is easy to find, just off I-5. Reasonably priced. While we did not get to use the pool, there is one available, as well as, a guest laundry. My understanding is they have dedicated pet friendly rooms available also. Enjoyable stay, will plan to stay again when in the area.
Had a wonderful time. This Best Western is a good place to stay. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean and pet friendly. Have stayed there twice and have liked both times. Queen bed slumped a little towards the middle but this is a minor flaw.
Friendly staff, Breakfast was delicious made to order. Overall experience was great, rooms were clean, restroom in the lobby were very clean, exterior appearance was very pleasing, I would stay there again if I'm the area.
We have stayed at Hartford Lodge many times while travelling the I-5 corridor between Vancouver and Southern California, and are never disappointed. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and very welcoming. Pride of ownership is very apparent, as rooms are spotless and everything is well kept and maintained. Beds are amazingly comfortable and cozy, hot water hot and pressure great, and even the pillows are good! Breakfast is always good, and the made-to-order items are a nice option to the standard waffle and cereal selection. The fresh cookies are a nice treat if you can arrive before midnight! Will definitely make a point to return again.
Sometimes, you come across place from the outside, looks like it'll be okay or maybe not. Yet, when you get inside you just can't believe the renovations and changes. So, this is the Best Western in Sutherlin Oregon. We happened to be staying here mostly because they have a Tesla destination charger. As a bonus, they have great staff. We were greeted warmly and informed where the charger was (almost in front of our room). Also, we were presented with a choice of their chef's made cookies! The room was great. It had a comfortable, king size bed, nice size TV (with scads of channels), a microwave, small fridge and coffee/tea stuff (typical). It also had a well-lit make up area and stool. And they have glassware! Not plastic or paper (or nothing) but real hard surface glasses and mugs! This is not something that you see much anymore. Okay, I haven't made much comment about showers lately. So, this one was about 6 feet high, had great water pressure and a unique hook shaped shower head. My rating 8.5 out of 10. After a great night's sleep we went to the breakfast room and were greeted by the usual breakfast food that you would find in a Best Western. Okay, as well as made to order eggs or pancakes. This was a really nice touch. With Teslie fully charged we left for our next destination with a big smile on our faces. Bottom line, as mentioned before that sometimes a place deserves 9 out of 10 but TripAdvisor doesn't offer this. So, sometimes an establishment gets a 4 and sometimes a 5.
A great hotel to stay at and very friendly staff. The hot breakfast was a great start to our day. Room was very tidy and clean. Bed was comfortable. Nice hot shower as well. The lady at the front desk was very helpful helping us find a restaurant at night time.
I love that they always have at least 4 pillows on the bed because I totally surround myself with them. Cannot get over the comfort of that mattress!! I will stop there next time. Not to mention the breakfast omelettes to order!!! So happy that I randomly stopped there before heading through that black pass at night!! Great nights sleep!
Don't drive by this BW, which may be off the beaten path. About 10 miles north of Roseburg, Oregon. Excellent accommodations, outstanding beds, nice bath facilities, one of the few with full breakfast including your choice of omelettes and cookies made on the premises. Slightly smaller rooms for those with physical challenges. Very accommodating staff.
Our room at Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge was spotless, the décor pleasant, and the appliances modern and in good working order. The breakfast was superlative. The hotel has a cozy lobby with a fireplace where sundries and snacks are available for sale. We would stop here again.
Comfortable room and bed. Quick check in. Tasty breakfast with more than just waffles. Clean and big rooms. I have a Tesla, and they have free charger for it. Only drawback is it is 10 minutes from Roseburg.
We have stayed here many times over the last 10 years as we drive back and forth from Canada to Mexico... love the hospitality, the room is always clean, breakfast is just right, and the check in very efficient. The cookies in the evening are a great touch and I never fail to buy several jars of their delicious jam. This is definitely our "go-to spot" when on the I-5 in southern Oregon.
I stay here every time I come to visit family in the area. Staff is always friendly, welcoming. Rooms are always clean, beds comfy and the showers are amazing! It is close to Dutch Bros, fast food, donut shop, pizza, Mexican food and gas stations.
Outstanding service and accommodations definite stay next time I am through. Front desk very helpful and breakfast was welcome change to other hotels processed breakfasts. Quiet and very clean, easy access to I-5 without the freeway noise
This was one of the best rooms we've stayed in. The beds were super comfy. I really liked the fact that we could bring our dog, and walk straight into our rooms from outside. Breakfast was made while we waited.....and so good. 4 star rating only becuz I don't give 5 to anyone. LW
easy access, quiet, friendly, room was great. Breakfast was great. Can't say anything but a great place to stay! The girl at the desk was helpful, friendly and more. We enjoyed to room, rate and area. If you're looking to stay somewhere we encourage you to try this Hartford Lodge!
We have stayed at the BW Plus Hartford Lodge a number of times in the last five years. This property has become our favorite on the way home to Washington. The rooms are spacious clean and comfortable. The breakfast is absolutely one of the best. This place is mostly full even on Mondays so I now know why. Parking is close to the room which is a desired thing for us. Just off I-5 however there is very little noise. Nearby Apple Peddler restaurant has a great menu and a coupon at the motel. Fuel prices in Sutherlin are not usually very high. A great place to stop traveling north or south along I-5
We were traveling with dogs and stayed twice... both times in two separate rooms with 2 dogs in one room and 1 dog in the second room. As requested, we were put in rooms on the end of the corridor making it so fewer people walked by our rooms so the dogs were not alarmed and did not bark at all. Upon arrival the 1st night, there was part of a dead bird (probably from a cat) outside the door of one of our rooms. We called the front desk and it was removed immediately. Staff was very congenial. Easy on and off from the interstate. Rooms were clean. Poor TV choices.
The hotel interior and exterior was beautiful. Service was great and my only compliment was no free breakfast. We were able make a short drive to local restaurants. The exterior and interior were beautifully decorated and very appealing.
I called while on the road and was helped to find a room near where we wanted to stop. Lady on the desk was very nice and friendly, even though it was late. breakfast was wonderful with a cook on staff to prepare our order. A very nice experience.
Great service by staff, room was clean and well equiped, free wifi worked (not always the case at many hotels), comfortable bed, and the best complimentary breakfast we have had at any hotel (including the more expensive ones).
I have stayed at this Best Western Hotel before and liked it very much. It is clean, quiet and you can order a special breakfast in the morning, on top of the usual continental breakfast items. The beds are comfortable and the entire room was clean.
Great hotel and service and would recommend for any and all travelers through the Sutherlin area. Clean and friendly with a great location with easy access to freeway and services without extraneous noise
Booked one price, arrived dates had been changed in computer. So was charged way more than booked. Bed had springs that pokes in back. Needs to be replaced badly. Workers were friendly, breakfast people excellent.
We usually don't stay at Best Westerns because they have been very inconsistent in the past, but with everything sold out in Eugene, we decided to make the 40 minute drive south to stay here. We were pleasantly surprised! The rooms seemed a bit dated (outside entrances) but it looked like they had just completed a redo recently. All the furnishings and amenities were great. They promised the cleanest room you have ever stayed in, and they delivered! A made-to-order breakfast was included and with your choice of omelets, eggs any style and pancakes. Along with that they had also had a buffet. The breakfast attendants kept everyone happy even on a crowed Saturday morning. We are used to the usual comp breakfast, but this was a nice change.
The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom has all the amenities. Their towels are like new, not those half worn like some places. When we come through the area, this is the only place we will stay. Their dining room serves breakfast. In addition to all the regular food, they have a person who will cook your eggs any way you want them as well as pancakes. I really can't say enough about this hotel.
Wow, this place was great. The room was comfortable, squeaky clean, and well-designed. Everything worked. Very serviceable indoor pool in its own separate building. Cooked-to-order hot breakfast was easily the best hotel breakfast we've ever had. This was the first frame hotel we've ever stayed in, where the second-floor outdoor walkways are made of concrete, not wood. So it was very quiet as luggage and housekeeping made their way past the room. We also liked that this place is a block off the freeway-----unlike so many chain hotels that are right on the freeway and you can't get a moment's peace. It's still not whisper quiet, but if you run your A/C or fan during the night you won't hear traffic. We stayed here two nights so we could make a day-trip to Crater Lake, which is a very scenic drive of just over two hours each way from Sutherlin. Then it's a couple more hours to drive from here to Bandon which along with Cannon Beach is the co-gem of the Oregon coast.
I was driving south and needed to pull over to sleep at 3am. I saw that there was a Best Western off the freeway. I was grateful that a very nice gentleman was at the desk and that there was a first floor room and that my AAA discount was applied. When I asked him to make sure I wouldn't bother anyone with my taking a shower that late at night, he said "No problem". Happy with the very clean and no smell room. As it was a pet friendly room. The towels were folded in fun animal shapes and the bathroom spotless. I left a tip for that. The bed was a king and very comfortable and the pillows super comfy. I was pleased with all that it was, since I only slept about 5 hours. I did feel refreshed. Good thing as I had another 12 hours to go.
Excellent customer service here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the beds.. well I wanted to take it home with me!! I highly recommend this Best Western and Steve is the greatest!
We found this motel to be very comfortable, despite being near the 101 it was quiet and we got a good nights sleep. The star of the place is the customised breakfast. The two girls working on the breakfast room cooked breakfast to order. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Only negative, thick and heavy quilt in 80 degree weather.
We would never have expected such a great experience at a best western. This place is clean, very comfortable, including a great bed which we have trouble finding ANYWHERE. The staff is really nice, helpful, and friendly. Breakfast ends too early for us so we missed it. The room was quiet, even with a window air conditioner. The price was lower than most places we stayed while on this trip, and seemed a real value. Close to several restaurants and places to eat. We would stay again.
Clean rooms, great service, and probably the best breakfast in town! Sergio, their man of many hats, is an outgoing, aim-to-please kind of guy who will whip up your eggs any way you want 'em and makes a mean omelet. Wide variety of breakfast foods on hand and yummy, fresh baked cookies handed out at check-in, between 3 and ?? pm.
We were very happy with this motel, it was clean and their breakfast was very good, with several items to pick through. The staff was more than helpful and we will stay there again. We keep a book on Hotels and places to eat in each town we visit, this one made are list.
We took a last-minute getaway and stayed at the Hartford on a Saturday night. Nice room...quiet...comfy bed...the "cooked to order" breakfast was excellent and part of the rate. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
I have to say is one of the finest Best Western that I have stayed with, The breakfast was the best that I have had in any BW Hotel they have a Chef to prepare your order. Great room and very friendly staff all the way around.
Very clean, comfortable hotel with an excellent breakfast. They gave us excellent recommendations for dinner and gave us great information about the city. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. If we get back to this area, we will definitely stay here again.
I would recommend this hotel to any traveler! Terrific staff! Concerned about your stay! The professional cleaning staff ensured that the room was immaculate and presented everything from the towel display to the bedding in an inviting and upscale way!
This is the place to stay if you're down by Roseburg, OR. The staff is very friendly, courteous and thoughtful!!! The beds and pillows are the best I have ever had and it doesn't matter which room they are all the same!!! Nice facility, quiet even when full, nice pool and spectacular breakfast!
Always a predictable and pleasant stay. Staff is professional, friendly and ready to help. We usually are traveling to Roseburg but prefer your lodge to others in the area. Breakfast very enjoyable. Good value for the pricing.
Excellent hotel. Hotel has one Tesla charger for overnight charging. Hotel / Lodge was nice and clean, and the breakfast was excellent, well prepared, and the staff was great. Overall, the stay was very nice. The location was right near the freeway, for easy access.
My family loves staying here on our summer drives between the Bay Area and Seattle. It's a good half-ish way point and we all enjoy this hotel. The pool is great for loosening up after a long drive. Several restaurants in the area will deliver or do take-out for dinner. The breakfast is made to order and very tasty. Staff is always friendly and helpful. We even had our new puppy with us on one stay and got a pet-friendly room. We plan to stay here for our next trip!
So a pretty expensive place cost like 165 . Not inside corridors but ok Nice staff nice beds Hot tub not working , over flowing trash cans and had difficulty getting my rewards points posted and could not get into the laundry room with assistance because " the timers have not been reset " Breakfast was a cooked to order deal . Not my thing . Like the buffet to take back to the room . Had a sick friend and was not allowed to take food back to room It was just ok ....there are better around .
Very nice. We thought it had interior corridors from the pictures. Clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was made to order omelets. They were very good and the chef was very nice. Coffee was good. could use more of a fruit selection. They have a pool and gym but we didn't have time to use it.
The is, by far, the best Best Western we have ever stayed!! Everything from the cookies upon arrival, the friendliness of the hotel staff, the superior breakfast with custom made omelets, great location just off the freeway but quiet and across the street from a wonderful family-run Italian restaurant for lunch and dinner! What could be better, especially with the great indoor pool and needless to say outstanding beds and comfortable rooms?!
Have stayed here about 25 times during last ten years. Unit continues being a fine facility with its location, cleanliness, in room amenities, quality staff, breakfast excellent and consistent with other BW's. Will return next year.
They welcome you with cookies from the bakery when you arrive. The made to order breakfast eggs are still included in the price of the lodge and they are delicious! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The lodge is conveniently located off the highway. There is also a swimming pool on the site which we did not use.
The hotel was cozy. It had a log cabin feel and was clean and comfortable. We were given complimentary cookies upon checking in, which was a delicious treat. The staff were friendly and accommodating and instantly brought up a Pack and Play for us giving me the opportunity to timely put our 9 week old baby to sleep. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would certainly come again.
Great staff, great food, great service. Loved our short visit to this region. We had a mix-up in reservations at another hotel site and it was to our advantage to backtrack to this location. We arrived late at night after a daylong drive and were greeted and welcomed with a complimentary late night snack. We were served a five star breakfast which was included in the price of the room. The quality of breakfast and the service were superb. It ranked with the best restaurants I've dined in across the country. Keep up your quality of service and we will definitely choose to stay here again in the future.
I was on a 10 day northwest trip. I stayed at a number of place and this was 1 of the top 2 that 3 parties stayed at. The room was very clean and quiet. The breakfast the next day was great the best that I have ever had at any hotel or motel.
This place is a gem. You wouldnt think to find 5 star service in a highway hotel, but this place is doing it. They have very friendly staff, free cookies at check-in, a beautiful and well cared for property. They have a pool and spa. The beds - lets face it the beds make or break the stay. This place had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in - probably nicer than mine. Clean doesnt begin to describe it. Everything was impeccably clean. White bedding that was truly white. The remote is cleaned daily. They actually take great pride in how clean they are. Now how about the free hotel breakfast? Yeah they have the breakfast bar like everyone else, but they pay a chef to make you eggs cooked to order or an omelet, bacon or sausage, and home cooked red potatoes with rosemary along with everything else. Free. Seriously. The other thing that surprised me was how it felt like a luxury hotel. They had a vanity outside the bathroom with a stool and mirror. It also had a makeup mirror, hair dryer and a jar with cotton balls and cotton swabs. First time I have ever stayed in a hotel with this. Oh and a full length mirror. If you are traveling through Oregon on I-5 and you dont stay here, you are making a mistake. My kids loved it, I loved it and the location is close to the freeway but it was so quiet you would never know. I did not receive any compensation for this review. I was just very satisfied with my stay.
Just had the opportunity to visit this property which is very well situated near I-5. We were greeted by Stephanie who was exceptional in her help and advice about places to visit locally. The breakfast included an omelette station where a chef prepared orders based on your request. The beds were quite comfortable, and the property has an onsite coin laundry which came in handy. If our travel plans bring us back this way, we will definitely stay at this property again.
Very comfortable room with a wonderful dressing area - large mirrored closet doors and a sitting vanity area for makeup. The hotel is just far enough off the highway for a quiet night's sleep. And the Jacuzzi is open until midnight - nice for a late evening soak.
Great breakfast. We enjoyed the made to order breakfast and well as other buffet style foods. The rooms were clean rooms and good beds. Overall good experience. We would recommend this motel and if we were ever back in this area would stay there again.
Exceptional! This Best Western Plus Hotel is convenient to the freeway. It was pleasant looking from the outside, and the rooms were clean, pleasant and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was pet friendly, but did not smell of any animals. The whole hotel is non-smoking. The breakfast was excellent.
It was great, friendly and helpful staff, clean and orderly room, and breakfast cooked to order in the morning, and so convenient from I5, just off the freeway. I was lucky to get the last room on the evening of July 3rd, and will stop here again on my way home when I get tired of driving.
This Best Western had breakfast to order. We gave our choices to the chef and felt like we were in a real restaurant. All the usual choices were available also, but the addition of fresh cooked eggs was great. We truly felt it was a notch above the other hotels. We will stay here again.
This is and above average best western, service was great and staff very friendly. The swimming pool was and pool area is very nice and I enjoyed swinging after my run. Quite location. They have a real nice selection of wines from Oregon and California. They have a bakery in the lobby of the hotel and when you check in you can have a cooking of your choice. This is another great place to stay. The bed is really comfortable your going to love it.
I stopped for a night, enroute from there to here, expecting no more than a bed for the night. The night clerk was wide awake and attentive. The room was spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable, the accompanying breakfast excellent.
Very nice experience at this hotel both with the staff and the atmosphere. The rooms were well lighted. The internet worked great. We regretted that the refrigerator was not on and cold for us to keep our yogurt and water in. I loved the little make-up station with the stool and mirrors to comb my hair.
On the pricey side but very comfortable place. Great bed, clean, friendly staff. minor shortcomings like no caffinated coffee left in room and lobby coffe empty when leaving. Not a big deal. The breakfast fair was quite good and of good quality. Plentiful and a good veriety. Omelets and pancakes available from cook. Biscuits and gravy and other from bouffet.
Easy to get to from the freeway. Nicely kept up exterior. The room was very clean with comfortable beds. The surrounding area was quiet .Friendly staff with easy check in and a great cook in the breakfast room!
This Best Western hotel was a delightful place to stay. We received a friendly welcome. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely prepared for our stay. Our maid did extra special touches to make us feel welcome. The complimentary breakfast was a cook to order breakfast prepared by a chef.
I continue to stay at BW Hotels when traveling domestically and internationally and this was the first BW Plus that I have stayed out. Mary and Trisha were so welcoming and accommodating when addressing my reservation and senior citizen needs. They provided outstanding, excellent customer service. Their recommendation of Pedrotti's Italian restaurant was right on. We visited this hotel both going and returning from a road trip to Seattle from California and we ate at Pedrotti's both times. Sergio was great--had issues with refrig and he went that extra step to check it out. He's also a great chef and his bfast team was great. This Hartford Inn provided coffee 24 hours and had a great lounge for visiting.local friends. When checking in, they give home made cookies. An aside: If there is a problem with any BW hotels, I recommend contacting Corporate. Last year, I had a bad experience at the BW Palm Springs Inn and corporate was responsive to my issues.
So pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It is in a small town but it is right off the freeway, very convenient to get to. The hotel is beautiful, clean, the rooms are comfortable and the staff he's very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was more than just your average breakfast that you get in a hotel. The dining room was very, very nice and the staff were wonderful. There was a cook who cooked your eggs or your pancakes to order. All in all, this was one of the better hotels that my sister and I stayed in on our road trip through Oregon.
I was really impressed with this place. It was in a very small town and I was not expecting much but I was wrong. The place was cute, clean, with a very friendly staff. They went over the normal continental breakfast by allowing you to order how you wanted your eggs or pancakes prepared. It had easy access from the freeway. A great stopover on the long ride across the mountains to/from Orgeon and California.
From our experience I conclude that the management has taken a very hands-on approach to this establishment. It is a well-run operation. The building is attractive, our room was clean and comfortable. The air-conditioner and refrigerator were quiet and did not disturb sleep. The breakfast was a step above the usual with eggs cooked to order and numerous other offerings. The setting is smart, a couple of blocks away from I5, so there is little ambient noise during the night.
This one is VERY good, quiet and very comfortable rooms. No freeway noise. The ladies at the front desk have got it all covered, no matter how bad your day was. Softest beds and all first class amenities.
What luck to end up here. We were towing a car trailer and the desk clerk gave us a room where we could see our unit in their parking area which was easy for maneuvering and parking our unit. Before going to our room she gave us cookies for a nighttime treat. The next morning was a big surprise. The free breakfast meant having the chef (Yes! a real Chef) prepare our eggs to order. And the breakfast bar had a big selection (it was hard not to over eat because I wanted to try everything), This Best Western was so amazing, that I want to find an excuse to stay there again. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and quiet. GREAT STAY!!!
We have stayed here before on our way up to Seattle. This hotel is exceptional - the staff are always very professional and friendly, the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. They had special touches to make you feel welcome - like folding the towels in the shape of birds and giving you homemade cookies. The breakfast they offer is made to order in their cafe and is a great way to set you on your way. The bed is comfortable and the pillows are soft. The bathroom is quite large, has a fan plus a window you can open. The AC works well and is not too loud. Street noise is non-existant. We enjoy staying here and would definitely stay longer if we could.
We stayed here for two nights, in order to attend a family wedding close by. The hotel was perfect for our group. The rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, and clean. There were lots of areas for us to meet as a group, both indoors and out. The younger children were easily entertained and safe. Really, it's a great place for families. And, it's quiet at night!!!!
Well ~ this was unexpected! From the street, this has the appearance of just another run-of-the-mill roadside hotel chain. But then, it did something unique....it offered real service! What is lacks in smooth, modern furniture and appointments, it more than made up for in friendly service and a wonderful breakfast service, made to order. Not one to pass up a veggie omlet, mine was super. (Most of us getting this yummy omelet tipped the cheerful chef $1.) I was pleasantly surprised.
On a business trip, but have stayed before for vacation as well. The place is clean, the staff is very helpful, the breakfast is the best! Cooked to order breakfast!!! Very helpful staff and if you need any assistance, they are there for you. Great place to stay.
The staff were glad to see us, the rooms were very comfortable, the King Suite offered exactly what I expected. We even received a cookie upon arrival. The "made-to-order" breakfast option was also a nice feature.
Everything was perfect. The price was right, they gave me a pet friendly room on the ground floor, and they had a very nice pet walking area. The room was comfortable, everything worked, and breakfast was awesome. They make eggs, omelets, and pancakes to order. I'll be back again when I am visiting the area. Even though it's a few miles from the VA hospital in Roseburg, it's worth the extra drive to Sutherlin to stay here.
We made it a point of staying in Sutherlin, OR at the BW Hartford Lodge. This hotel is pristine clean with an excellent, friendly staff. Our room was clean and quiet with extra amenities not found in other hotels. The morning breakfast had a full menu of choices and having it cooked to order and even delivered to your table was a great start of any day. I have and would recommend this hotel to anyone coming thur southern Oregon.
The Hartford Lodge is the place to stay for road travelers through West Central Oregon, bar none! The staff is personable and friendly, the rooms are comfortable, the parking is ample, and there's a bakery on premises! We like to say that the Hartford Lodge is the best Best Western Plus on the planet. Since we haven't stayed at them all, that's probably not a supportable statement. But we love staying here best of all, and go the extra mile (literally driving through the night if we have to) just to stay here and not somewhere else. Love these folks, love the property!
The Best Western Lodge in Sutherlin was fabulous. No negative remarks. If I'm in the area again--I will definitely stay at the Lodge. The staff-Lodge-breakfast was all excellent. The location is great. Lots of eateries walking distance from the Lodge. Near the freeway.
This is by far the best of the Best Westerns or any other "brand" that we have stayed in. The staff are gracious, pleasant, accommodating, and efficient. The room was comfortable, beautiful, spotlessly clean, and quiet. A beautiful facility. The breakfast that was served was great. Made to order omelets were excellent. We will definitely put this stopover on our future agendas.
We were traveling through the area and wanted to use our Canadian AirMiles. This motel accepted them for the reservation. Our expectations were pretty low but we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable and the no-extra-charge breakfast was especially good.
Very comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast was made to order. Very good. Easy on and off I 5 access. Quiet area slept great there. Everything was clean and staff very friendly. Highly recommend this Best Western. Would stay here again. Made reservation easily in my phone just hours before my stay.
The exterior of the hotel is a gorgeous log cabin style. The staff are most helpful and congenial. Love the pool and hot tub. The breakfasts are individually cooked by a chef. Extended check-out time was no problem.
We were on a week road trip around Oregon, and this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. They treat you to a Hot Breakfast eggs, pancakes, potatoes, and Bacon/ sausages. The Bed was so comfortable will stay here again.`
Good room, quiet. Friendly helpful staff. Fresh made omelettes , fresh made chocolate chip banana bread, friendly enthusiastic breakfast chef. Not like any other breakfast I've had in a hotel. Safe area to walk after dark.
I was very impressed with the hotel and the staff. I pay close attention to every single detail since I'm the GM of a Best Western in Wilsonville Or. I didn't find much I could pick on that this hotel. The staff was more than helpful and the room was extremely clean. I would recommend staying at this Best Western over the one in Roseburg, you will be much happier and its worth the small extra drive. They have a wonderful breakfast and outdoor seating for beautiful days. This is a very nice hotel and they deserve a 5 star trip advisor rating.. GREAT STAY !! Thank you!
This hotel is very clean and nice. It has a nice grassy area to walk the dog with a light for the evening hours. The front office staff are friendly and helpful. You also get a free fresh baked cookie when you check in. The handicapped room has a good bathroom setup, but the overall room is somewhat cramped for a wheelchair user. There is a fresh made to order breakfast in the morning, but there area is small so you might have to wait a bit to get your food.
We were greeted by very friendly staff when we arrived and were given cookies, which is also great for the kids. The room was comfortable and the breakfast in the morning had almost everything! The pool and hot tub were nice but the pool building needs a little repairing. All-in-all, it was a great stay and I would definitely recommend.
Cheerful, engaged staff that had an 'ownership mentality.' Excellent rooms, beds just right. Made-to-order breakfast as good as any restaurant. My colleague was also quite impressed...thank you for making me look good :)
We stayed at this Best Western after a long day's drive, heading home to the Seattle area. Two things stood out as we arrived at the location: the cleanliness and the wonderful greeting of the person at the desk. She made us feel welcome, answered all questions, AND gave us each a cookie to start our stay. The room was perfect...and CLEAN, as in really clean. The towels had been made into little animals; the beds were comfortable; there is a dressing area outside the bathroom so that you don't need to hold the bathroom hostage putting on make up. Finally, there were real glasses in the room and real ceramic cups in the effort to be more environmentally friendly. Bravo! The room was spacious and the furniture upscale in comparison with many places we stayed on our journey. The last treat was the unbelievable breakfast, complete with a chef to make your omelet, eggs, pancakes and bring them to your table. Truly we were so impressed. If you are stopping anywhere in this area, stop at the Hartford Lodge. You will be glad you did.
Bed, bedding, towels, and water pressure are all exceptional. Extremely clean and quiet, yet very close to Interstate 5 with easy access. Staff very friendly and helpful, and cheerful as ever at 2am check-in. Great experience as always.
This is an attractive, woodsy hotel building with large, comfortable, and exceptionally clean rooms. Our room was nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and lots of special touches and amenities, including a dressing table and chair with a make up mirror, cotton ball canister, and more. Luscious linens on the bed. The rate includes a fresh, cooked to order breakfast, along with a standard breakfast buffet to round it out. Lovely public seating areas, picnic tables on the lawn, and pleasant, friendly staff members who seem to genuinely care about their guests. You get your choice of the fresh-baked cookies when you check in! Conveniently close to the freeway, but surprisingly quiet.
This is what every motel should try to be like. The staff was excellent. The room was comfortable and extremely clean. The location was very close the HWY 5 but isolated enough to be very quiet. The entire complex looked as if it was only a couple years old although we found it to be under new ownership for 8 years. Pride in ownership was very evident.
Outstanding motel to stay with great staff; makes you welcome plus most excellent accommodations. Start off the morning with a top notch, excellent, specially prepared breakfast. Good cookies on check-in...grin!
This property is a shining star among other Best Western Plus properties. From the moment I arrived the service and attention to detail were top-notch, the welcome cookie was a nice touch too. Things only got better. The rooms are well appointed, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The next morning, imagine my surprise when there was a chef prepared breakfast as opposed to the usual complimentary "breakfast" typically served at other properties. This place is great and I will drive a little further, or cut my day a little short to stay here every time I'm traveling in the area.
Wonderful experience. The chef prepared breakfasts were so nice compared to the usual breakfast bar associated with hotels these days. Quiet, clean and the staff were amazing. The hotel is conveniently located to the freeways going north/south and/or east/west.
This was probably our fifth or sixth visit to the Hartford Inn and we go out of our way to make it the first or last stop on our road trips. My wife raves about the comfortable bed and dressing table. Front desk staff are always friendly and efficient. As noted by others, the breakfast is superb. When I reported that the bike in the exercise room wasn't working, the manager thanked me and said they'd get right on it. To top it off, the room rate is very reasonable.
We travel up and down I-5 too often. Having avoided Sutherlin for years, we stopped this trip at the Best Western Plus Hartford Lodge. We were very pleased with the entire experience. The rooms are very nice; the pool is indoors, next to the self-service laundry, which is nice amenity. The highlight was the breakfast! Cooked-to-order omelette, pancakes or eggs - all with potatoes and bacon or sausage. The bacon is locally sourced and excellent! Of course, they also have the usual BW waffles (which are almost always far better than you would expect), juices, coffee, tea, cold cereal, etc. All-in-all and excellent Hotel - quality to which other BWs should aspire.
When I arrived I liked the smell of cedar right at the lobby entrance. My room was very clean and had nice touches like a sitting area for applying makeup and drying hair. A microwave and refrigerator were in the room, which was also nice. The lobby had a lodge feel to it and you can buy all kinds of items there, from Oregon wine to snacks. Since only 1 person works at the desk, at times, there can be a long wait if help is needed. I was unable to stay for breakfast but the breakfast area was clean and comfortable and the menu sounded great. There were many groups of tables and chairs, both inside and outside, for people to sit together and socialize. I sensed that each employee with whom I interacted felt really happy to work there.
A pleasant surprise to find this hotel in the little town of Sutherlin Oregon. Had checked bigger towns for availability when we came upon this one. Nice lodge style lobby well stocked with wines and small local items, and cookies upon check-in. The staff was very professional and helpful. Comfortable rooms with the morning sun coming through the bathroom window. How often does that happen in a hotel?Would definitely stay there again.
An updated clean highway motel. Quiet with comfy beds, great service and a cooked to order breakfast (!) Bakery on site with tasty cookies and other treats. Good price - good value - good service. Have stayed here multiple times - very consistent.
Very Clean!! The Front Desk was very Friendly and Helpful. Other motels advertise a free breakfast which ends up being a cellophane wrapped muffin and weak coffee. This Best Westerns breakfast was a real hand made omelet cooked by a professional chef. Yogurt,Bacon, sausage coffee, bananas, apples, included. Nice pool and spa. Also plenty of towels, and a great shower. WiFi really worked as well as at home. Having stayed at other places for more money on this road trip, Best Western in Sutherlin was a positive experience. Another plus for Best Western is their Two Nights of Best Western stays = $25 in your pocket.
Always treated with respect and in a professional manner. Will continue to use this Best Western in our travels. We had a minor noise issue this stay beyond the control of the facility. We will still return to this Best Western over the others in the area.
Yes, it's all they hype it up to be. We have been on a road trip for 4 weeks and this was one of the better places along the road that we found. They cook your free breakfast to order and it's quite good. Lots of amenities in the food area. Quiet, comfy room. Exceptional people checking you in. Would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
This place is immaculate with their presentation. Very clean room and had all the amenities I needed. Very comfortable bed and the shower head was exceptional for a hotel. Nice flat screen TV with Direct TV, over the top! I would definitely stay here again. The fresh made breakfast by the chef was a huge bonus.
The staff was very friendly and we received a great cookie at check in. I would describe this BW as very nice, comfortable and quiet. Very Convenient to I-5. It was clean and the breakfast was excellent. We did not experience any problems.
Appealing log-framed lodge which is well maintained and very clean. Big city details with linens and toiletry items. Breakfast is cooked-to-order and is generous and well prepared. I highly recommend this property for a relaxing over night stay to break up a long road trip.
The Best Western in Sutherlin is a 6-7 hour drive from Seattle, a nice mid-point to Sacramento. Rooms are very clean and spacious. All the staff from the front desk to the maintenance crew are very friendly and courteous. The breakfast made to order in the morning is a real plus. Omelettes with veggies, ham, bacon, or sausage, potatoes, or pancakes.
This hotel had easy off and on I5. Easy to find and efficient check-in. The hotel has a northwest exterior and a mix of northwest and Asian interior. We took advantage of the indoor pool and hot which felt really good after being on the road all day. We also had the free breakfast before hitting the road the next morning. The chef cooked to order what we wanted and it was delicious. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Yesterday, I was driving from Emeryville, CA to Portland, OR when I decided to find a place to stay for the evening. I saw the Best Western sign and checked in. I was unexpectedly surprised to find out they offered a not only the complementary breakfast, but with a high energy (in a good way) breakfast chef who made custom omelettes!!! It was delicious!! A very clean and beautiful timber lodge type atmosphere with a flat screen and free wifi!! The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful both during checkin and checkout. I'm planning to stay here again in my future travels to the north and back!!! Will try an checkin earlier the next time to take advantage of the indoor pool.
Stayed at this hotel while checking out the antiques and history of the area. Bes were very comfy, room clean, breakfast was nice, staff friendly. The appearance and quality of the room was very nice. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel in the future. However, Take your decaf coffee to the breakfast room as they have none there. Don't plan on using a lot of wifi as it is not dependable, and if they offer you any promotions for BW, you better check the website to make sure they didn't give you misinformation.
Second stay. The property has a large lodge-like reception area with fireplace and large den to one side of the front desk and on the other a large case with a choice of several kinds of baked-on-site cookies if you need a snack. Check-in staff extremely personable, friendly and helpful. Rooms are in a more motel-like arrangement on two floors with parking below. I only heard other guests the next morning as folks next to me chose to stand out on the shared walkway to have a chat; not a big deal. Room is quite adequate with comfortable king bed and pillows. "Larger" fridge was much appreciated. I also like to open the window in the rear bathroom to hear the birds in the large Brer-Rabbit-like blackberry bramble patch and meadow behind. Best part besides nice staff is the made-to-order breakfast. You are given a form to fill out how you would like your eggs, or what you want in your omelette; as well as if you want meat (bacon or sausage), potatoes, and/or pancakes. Along with the regular breads, pastries, fruit, oatmeal and juices that one typically finds, you can start your day off with a large and delicious meal made to your liking. The chef, who also bakes the cookies makes breakfast as ordered, greets folks, and helps her assistant - nice friendly and efficient team! Pool is in separate building and looks inviting, but I must confess I didn't try it because I didn't want to walk outdoors back to my room when wet as it was cold outside.
The stay was exceptional from the welcoming front desk staff, to the in house chef at breakfast. The reception staff were very friendly and made me feel at home. The room was immaculately clean. The bed was even better than the usual level of comfort at a BW. For breakfast an omelette made to order, with bacon and hash browns. Delicious. Highly recommended.
So many good things here, above and beyond. A block off highway so no road noise. Outside- clean log cabin look. Fresh baked cookies upon arrival. Room- good size, very clean, cute little vanity area, fridge, microwave, DVD player, nice decor, and Very comfy clean bed. Free Breakfast- also above and beyond, all the usual plus more, made to order omelette, fresh pancakes and so much more. We will stay here every time we pass through. Very good price for what you get.
Had a great stay beautiful people, excellent service and great cookies. We would recommend this place for anyone the staff is friendly we had a great breakfast it was cooked to our order. The rooms were clean bed was comfortable and loved the swans towels
This is one of the best motels we have ever stayed in. The rooms were very large, spacious, and were very well equipped. All sorts of extras such as cotton balls, q tips, make up remover pads, nice make up mirror, and so many extras I can't begin to name them all. The breakfast was cooked to order by a chef. Much nicer than the standard continental breakfasts. Other hotels could take lessons from this hotel,
My wife, son and I spent three nights and were glad we stayed here. The front desk staff were very friendly and the breakfAst (cooked to order) was wonderful! The rooms were clean and equipped w/ frig and microwave. If I were to complain, I'd say the cleaning staff could've done a little better job on our room during our stay. Also, the indoor pool area needed some attention, but hey, I was happy that my 7 yr old & I got to swim! We'd definitely come back.
My partner, our dog and I stayed one night in this solid, well run hotel. The building is a large two story structure that looks a bit like a mountain lodge. The young woman at reception evening shift was about the most friendly, congenial and helpful person I have encountered. She also gave us some of their complimentary cookies. Our room was a standard king ground floor room with parking directly in front of the room. She gave us a room near the grassy area for our dog and even was able to have unoccupied rooms either side when I mentioned the dog can be a bit woofy to noise. The room was clean, attractive and the bed and pillows very comfortable. The fridge and microwave were a plus and there were ceramic mugs for the in-room coffee maker rather than the usual styrofoam. The morning breakfast had the usual suspects like a waffle maker but you could actually have a to order omelette or scrambled eggs. The breakfast, as a result, was head and shoulders better than any other included hotel breakfast I have had. I will happily stay again on our trip back home.
Stopped at this place on a drive to CA. The rooms are nice and large, with more than normal extras. Beds are comfortable with plenty of soft pillows. They have an amazing cooked breakfast included with the rate and free wifi to boot. Right off the I5 easy to get to. Pets are welcome.
An outstanding oasis during a 4 day drive to the desert. By far, the best reasonably priced hotel we have visited in many years. The service was great, the room was large and well-lighted. And the breakfast is impressive. They cook your eggs to order. I had a delicious ham and cheese omelet, bacon, sausages, and english muffins.
My wife and I spent the night at Hartford Lodge in Sutherlin on our return trip home from the Seattle area. This was out first stay at this particular Best Western Motel and I was greatly impressed with the look and feel of this property. I was further impressed by the personalized breakfast menu items. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed, nice flat screen TV, fast wifi and perfect showers. The staff was very professional and friendly. I do not think I can find any negative comments concerning this facility. We plan on spending any future motel stays here because of its facilities and friendly staff. I have already recommended this place to members of our family.
Stayed in 3 Best Westerns on a 2 week trip. This was by far the best. Very nice staff. Cooked to order breakfast with chef on duty. Cookies in evening. 2 queen room was average size with nice furnishings and fixtures. Large bathroom and closet for a motel. Indoor pool and hot tub in separate building. Grassy pet area. Easy access on and off I-5. Not a metro area but gas, convenience store and fast food nearby. Quiet area. Will definitely stay here again on our travels through Oregon.
Very clean, comfortable beds, wonderful staff and great breakfast. What more could you ask for? Oh very good rate. We were traveling home after being with family for the holiday, had stayed at this Best Western before and were impressed with rooms, service and breakfast. This is definitely one of the best motels in the Best Western Line.
We always enjoy our stay at The Hartford Inn in Roseburg. It is clean and well staffed. This Christmas we were treated like family by the staff, not as if we were strangers traveling. It made our trip very pleasant.
This Best Western is where we normally stay on our trips down to Oregon and to work on our property there. The hotel is a little ways away from where we spend most of our day working but it is only due to the experience at the Hartford Lodge. The staff are always great and the breakfast crew is always Top Notch! Thanks again for a really enjoyable stay!
Our 4th stop at this BW,it work well for us on our trips from Seattle to Northern CA. and back. The breakfast is esp. done well(-:.,since you can custom order and have it made for you. There are several restaurants in the immediate area, would recommend the Italian just down the street.
I have stayed at many Best Western's in the Northwest and Southwest. This by was by far was one of the BEST property we have stayed at. I just wish I could have spent more time and not just quick stop over and enjoyed all that your property had to offer. The amenities that your property offered was way be on most property even think about. From the pool/hot tub, the café and of course the Breakfast!!!! Let me just say, I have never ever stayed at a property that had an made-to-order breakfast (OUTSTANDING) dinning staff was great, helpful and actually we still talk about it to everyone. I will not only recommend your property to everyone traveling I5, but will now make it a must stop when I travel north. Thank you again for making my quick stop so enjoyable, wonderful and most relaxing stay.
Quiet, clean, comfortable. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean and well appointed. Bed provided a good nights sleep. Unfortunately the town of Sutherlin lacks good restaurants, so we usually eat in another town before arriving.
Stopped here when the roads became icy, The front desk person was friendly and helpful, she even gave us a half off entrée at the Apple Peddler. The rood was clean, and even the remote was cleaned and wrapped. The bathroom had q tips and the towels were folded as swans. The café served continental breakfast with a chef cooking pancakes and made to order omelets at no cost. We definitely recommend this hotel.
This particular Best Western was my favorite one that I have stayed at. The beds and generous pillows made for a great nights sleep. The room was clean and very comfotable. They have all the creature comforts from free wifi, micro and refrigerator in room, and coffee/tea with elec. Coffee maker. The breakfast the hotel offers was wonderful with a chose of chef prepared breakfast. The reason I chose this hotel was because they were pet friendly and I was traveling with my brother and his little dog. We both travel alot and Best Western has been one of our standbys. I highly recommend this hotel.
This Hotel in Sutherlin is my favorite Best Western in the State of Oregon!!!!! They always do a great job for us when we travel. Can't say that about all Best Westerns, as the night before I was in Grants Pass and I would not rate it as a place I'd stay at again. They didn't have the Microwave or fridge that is fairly normal at most hotels and since I travel with items that need a fridge. I've come to count on Best Western to have this basic amenities, but they were not present in Grants Pass.
Was at this hotel for two days for a conference. Delighted to find free charging stations for electric cars. Not just a typical cookie at check-in, but choices from the bakery. One of the best included breakfasts at roadside motels, with choices of omelets.
Cook to order eggs and pancakes plus the usual continental breakfast. Room are decent and very clean. Staff is friendly and very helpful. My daughter loved the free cookie. I would highly recommend this place to any traveler.
A perfect place to stop. There's a Couple of gas stations,Chevron has a large market Macdonalds, coffee drive in kiosk and a great BW Plus . Its very close but not too close to I5. . Receptionist very pleasant , well informed. Unique building, highly maintained good clean room , great beds, nice pool house/hot tub. Lots of choice of wione, beer, soda at reception. Excellent cookies. It was a cold night , the a/c heat warmed the room quickly. Superb breakkie, delightful accommodating chef. Lots of food if you are a vegetarian. We have driven by this facility many times, staying in Medford or in Eugene. Not anymore, we,ll be here. The cost was terrific too.
Came here after reading the reviews and how true they were. The receptionist was really pleasant, the room spotless and quiet. We visted a local family wine tasting, brought a bottle back with us, brought some nibbles from the shop next door and we were set for the evening and a wonderful nights sleep. Next morning the gym was ok, a little small and then had a glorious swim in the heated pool. Rewarded by a superb breakfast cooked by a happy chef. I don't know if this Best Western Plus is an exception to the rule but from this experience I would use them again. A suggestion we will make is to open the pool a little earlier as it was rushed trying to get into breakfast before it closed.
This faciility excels in beauty, feeling of security, comfort, and the best breakfast by far of any of the Best Westerns that we have stayed in. They have a professional chef that prepares your omelets to order, plus pancakes, eggs, meats. etc . also a large selection of other entrees are available. The staff from check-in to check-out are quality individuals obviously well schooled in customer service.
There is a Chef in the breakfast area will cook the eggs for you which ever way you want, I ordered an egg-white only omelette with my choice of fillings and it is very good, a break from traditional BW breakfast, there's made to order pancakes as well.
Right from the beginning of our stay at this wonderful hotel, we were greeted with a smile at the desk and an extremely cheery and friendly, helpful demeanor. Then we entered the hotel room and loved all the small and caring attention to every detail, very clean room , and wonderful comfortable bed. The shower had lots of hot water and a nice shower head with plenty of pressure. That and a really comfortable bed are real important to me! Then in the morning we went to the breakfast room and placed our orders for made to order omelettes , and the chef did a fantastic job of making a really tasty breakfast and the coffee was excellent! All in all, one of the best values and one of top great hotel experiences. Great job Best Western!!! We'll be back!
This is the third time I've stayed here and it always is a pleasure, everyone is so nice and always willing to help you with a smile. I would recommend this hotel lodge with no reservations. The property he cooked to order breakfast each morning is one of my favorite things. Staff walk the property every hour to assure security on site. Outstanding place to stay and I will return.
I love this comfortable and peaceful place. Nicely maintained inside and out. Pet area is in great shape. The breakfast omelets I've had here were perfectly done. Very accommodating and friendly staff.
I requested a pet-free, smoke-free, odor-free room and they delivered. The housekeeping staff kept the door open to the room to make sure it was as well-aired as possible before our arrival. I walked in and felt immediately at home, with no odors! The room was clean, provided all necessary amenities (and more), and the bed provided a very relaxing night's sleep. Staff recommended a local Mexican restaurant for dinner and it, too, was excellent. My husband enjoyed the indoor pool (where chlorine odors cannot be avoided, so I abstained), and we were well-fed in the morning by the chef who prepared our hot breakfast to order in the cafe. He was hustling to keep up with demand and it was entertaining to watch as he cranked out pancakes, eggs to order, or omelets with varied fillings. The Hartford Lodge has elevated itself above other Best Westerns. Keep up the good work! There were just a few irritations: the toilet in our room wasn't very stable and would rock on its footing (but did not leak); we were near the ice machine and thoughtless guests would use it at odd hours; the breakfast patrons who smoked their marijuana joint before entering had the odor lingering on their clothes and it required me to leave breakfast early. Only one of these irritants is the responsibility of hotel staff and it wasn't a big issue, but one they might wish to address.
Passing through on I-5 while on vacation. There was a college football game in Eugene that night, which is why we stayed farther south. We stayed in a King room which was much larger than most, including a roomier bathroom. Extra mirror and counter outside bathroom, which worked for make-up. Lighting was better than most. All was very clean and nice. Breakfast included: Option of the standard fare of cereal, waffle, etc., OR you could wait for cooked-to order choice of eggs or pancakes or omelet, all with bacon or sausage. Food was good enough, but staffing can't handle a crowd. One cook and one helper. Dishwasher person had trouble keeping up with glasses and coffee cups. Overall, a nice addition, but not if you are in a hurry. We were there mid-Sept., so maybe they staff more during the summer. Elevator is near the office, which is at one end of an L-shaped building. If walking is difficult, ask for near the office. Indoor pool was across the parking lot. Overall, I would stay here again without question. The room was very nice.
This is a very pleasant hotel in which to spend a night. The room was very clean; I did not see a speck of dust. They serve an buffet style breakfast plus they custom cook omelets, other egg preparations, and pancakes for you. It was nice to see oatmeal--not the instant kind available. I really liked the vanity with the magnifying mirror. With my old eyes, it is hard to see in the standard hotel mirror to but in my eye drops. While I did not need them, the cotton balls and swabs were also a nice touch. They offer cookies baked on site which is a nice touch. My husband, and I think most people would, really liked the bed. It was very comfortable, even for me. Unfortunately for me and others who sleep hot, it was very warm. The combination of the hot mattress and the heavy duvet was too much for me. It would be nice if the hotel provide a separate top sheet and thin blanket for people like me who sleep hot. There is air conditioning but it does not cool below 60 degrees and if you set it to 60 degrees, trying to cool the room, it keeps turning off and on. I realize there are just a few of us who have this problem with beds. For the most part the room was quiet however in the early morning hours we were wakened by truck noise. We were in one of the rooms closest to the McDonalds and I think they were parking and backing up there. A room farther away would probably be quieter. Now to the shower head: I know the trend is to mount shower heads high and I can understand this is useful for tall people but the style of the shower head was such that it was much higher than normal. Even my husband, who is not short could barely reach it while there was not a chance of me reaching it without standing on a chair. To accommodate both short and tall people, a different style of shower head would be better: one mounted on a bar which allows it to be moved up and down or on a flexible neck. In spite of these problems, I am giving this an excellent rating since these problems noted are only problems for a few of us.
Looking for a nice place to relax and be spoiled? This is it. The cafe gave cookies - excellent chunky home-made cookies. And then the cafe offered made to order eggs/omelets each day. The chef was fantastic. This was in addition to the usual cereal, yogurt, coffee at most hotels. The laundry facility was clean and convenient to use. WHAT A FIND.
I usually check Trip Advisor reviews prior to staying at any establishment, but we were getting tired after driving for 12 hours and couldn't make it back to Portland. We took a chance and pulled off on the Sutherlin Exit. The staff here are wonderful. The front desk receptionist was so attentive, I am sorry I didn't write down her name (Eve of September 30th). Our stay was perfect. Bed was very comfortable and room was quiet. Housekeeping staff went to a lot of work to add personal touches, and they did not go unnoticed, room was very clean. Thank You for your hard work! The breakfast went far and above the usual continental breakfast, and had a chef that prepared fresh omelets, he was very friendly. Would definitely stay here again and hope to return in December to see the 2nd largest display of Christmas Lights in Oregon. BW Hartford Lodge, you do it right!!! Thanks for a wonderful stay. The cookies at check in are a nice treat too!
The staff was very efficient and friendly when making a reservation and upon check-in. The lobby sign was broken and the front of the building could use some paint/stain but not too bad. Our room had 2 queen beds and had not been vacuumed under in quite a long time. There was WAY too much furniture in the room and the maids need to discover what a Swiffer is. The bathroom was clean so that was good. The breakfast the next morning was good but they did not seem to handle the morning rush too well. Overall we had a quiet night but they need to take more care in cleaning and maintaining the rooms. Was a little too expensive for what it was. Rating would have been lower, but was saved by how well we were treated by the staff upon check-in and at breakfast. Must haves when we stay at a Motel: Friendly staff and clean room.
All around excellent experience, and very reasonably priced. We got cookies at check in; it was quiet, bed was comfortable, and we got a great custom omelet with breakfast in the morning. When travelling through central Oregon, going to Sutherlin BW is definitely worth it. Large parking lot too, off the main street.
We had a nice quiet stay. The beds are great and the rooms are clean and neat. I used the laundry and found it to be clean, neat, and well lit. I really appreciated the tall folding table in the room.
