terrible stay! no AC and 28 degrees in the room (307) when asking, the simply replied yhat there is no AC in the roms, just "ventilation". terrible ecperience!

This hotel is really good. Spacious and comfortable room, really good shower. Fridge in the room with complimentary drinks. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and good quality. Very fast WiFi and lovely staff.

Having cold water available for guests was probably the most welcoming thing I've ever experienced at a hotel! On top of that, having an option for a cool treat really made us feel cared for. The staff at reception, cleaning, and breakfast were all outstanding — friendly, attentive, and helpful. And the little extras in the room fridge that we could use after a long day of travel were just perfect. Felt genuinely looked after the whole stay!

I have never experienced the high level of customer service we received. We had an issue with shipping some items back to USA and they resolved this issue seamlessly. They were very helpful in suggesting things to do in Zurich. If we ever return to Zurich, this will be our hotel. It's very clean and right in the center of the old town making it very convenient to all the sights, With the added superior customer service, this hotel is an unbeatable value. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Again this hotel sets the standard for how a hotel should be run. Fantastic staff that goes out of their way to please their guests. If you're visiting Zürich, this is your hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Zürcherhof for four days and absolutely loved our stay. Our room was immaculate, very spacious, incredibly clean, and extremely comfortable. The room was also very well equipped, from the fully stocked minibar to the various coffee and tea options and the range of toiletries provided. The highlight of our stay was definitely the breakfast. We were greeted each morning by Joana, who was absolutely terrific, so kind, attentive to every need, and incredibly welcoming. The breakfast offered by the hotel was extremely fresh and varied. I only drink plant-based milks, which can sometimes be hard to find, but the hotel offered several options. My personal favorite were the eggs, which were made fresh à la carte with a variety of toppings to choose from. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every interaction felt warm and attentive. From Sabrina, to Rebecca at the front desk who was incredibly kind and welcoming, taking the time to show us her favorite route to explore the city and recommending some of her favorite places to visit. Even Marco, the security guard, was so friendly and welcoming. The entire team created a great atmosphere. The location of the hotel is also fantastic. You are truly in the heart of the city, we were able to explore everything on foot, which we loved. The river is only about a 2–3 minute walk away, and the area is surrounded by great cafés and restaurants. Overall, it was a wonderful stay with exceptional service from an amazing team. I would 100% recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

The location is perfectly placed so the hotel is accessible to Ubers and taxis. It is an easy walk to the Dorfli Christmas market stall in old town, very close to two bridges across the river to shop at Globus, Coop, or any of the very high end stores. Many restaurants and small shops are in the neighborhood. The front desk was very helpful, the room was very nice with refrigerator with complementary drinks. The breakfast had a lovely buffet, with cooked to order eggs. We will stay here in the future.

I was very happy with this hotel. The staff was first-rate- friendly, efficient, and helpful. The room size was excellent. The bathroom is a little tight, and I was traveling alone, but it was still much better than many hotels I've been in that have such great locations in "old town" cities in Europe. The bed was great- it had the perfect firmness and was very comfortable. Much nicer than usual. The hotel provides fresh fruit in the lobby, and I was skeptical, but it was very fresh. I don't eat breakfast, but like a piece of fruit for late morning, and it was all top quality. It's one of those touches that makes an impression. The room was very clean. Even the carpet was spotless, which is hard to do. I honestly don't recall a carpeted hotel room that was this clean and I've been in a lot. Lastly, the location was absolutely perfect. A couple of streets away from the noise of old town, so convenient but quiet. I would DEFINITELY stay here again. Great hotel all around.

Nicely located just off the centre of Zurich. Almost, but not quite, a budget option - or as budget as anythging gets in Zurich! Good staff and nice breakdast. Room was a bit small, but that's not uncommon in this type of hotel, and there is no built-in air conditioning. We had a portable unit with the exhasut hose out of the window - not wonderful, but you get what you pay for usually!

This hotel is a very good choice to stay in old town Zurich. Centrally located easy walk to the train station, shops and restaurants. Ask for a quiet high floor room. Service is friendly at the front desk and at breakfast which was very good. It was a nice buffet, with prosecco and you could choose eggs or omelette made to order. Complimentary water bottles and fruit in the lobby was appreciated. Zurich is a very expensive city, but this was a good value overall.

Good choice on a budget! We found the front desk and restaurant personnel were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good but if you get there right at opening (7am) you may be finishing the leftover pastries from the day before. Eggs are hit or miss. The rooms are sufficient but there are very minimal amenities, not even a phone or thermostat. The bathroom is tiny, but sufficient. The free drinks from the minibar is nice and free water in the lobby is a good benefit. Elevator is from the last century! It is a typical European 3 star hotel.

Great location, friendly staff, and the best breakfast we have ever had at a Best Western or anywhere! (We have stayed at numerous Best Westerns in six countries). Quality cheeses, cold cuts, fresh fruit, great coffee, breads and custom-made omelettes. We had very nice walks along the Limmat River and enjoyed seeing the many people enjoying a summer day on Lake Zurich. Also walked around Old Town and had a very nice dinner at Restaurant Oepfelchammer. We had two separate rooms (my husband and I had one room and our daughter was in another room). Price for one night for both rooms was 562 Swiss francs which included breakfast and complimentary drinks in the mini bar. It was very busy in the neighbourhood that night (July 12) as it was the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 (Sweden vs Germany).

My family and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Best Western Plus, having travelled out to Zurich to watch the Lionesses beat Netherlands in the Women's Euros 25. We were genuinely surprised that this hotel is only rated as a 3-star establishment. From the moment of arrival, the customer service was exceptional, and the room quality was outstanding. Our triple room was modern, impeccably clean, with a lovely modern bathroom. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful inclusion of a portable AC unit and fan, which provided much-needed comfort during the warm temperatures. The continental breakfast was great, offering a great selection along with the excellent option of freshly prepared eggs (fried, scrambled, omelette). Furthermore, the availability of complimentary fruit, cold bottled water, coffee, and pastries in the reception area, alongside a well-stocked fridge with beverages, added significant value to our stay. All the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, consistently going above and beyond. I want to make a particular comment about Rebecca at reception. Her exceptional customer service, demonstrated through prompt and efficient responses to pre-arrival emails and in-person inquiries, truly deserves recognition. Our only minor constructive feedback pertains to the pillows, which were a little too soft. Although the hotel was unable to provide firmer alternatives, they promptly offered two additional pillows, demonstrating their commitment to guest comfort.

The hotel is in a great location in Old Town with lots of restaurants and bars close by. Our room was small but nice and clean - you may opt to skip a daily room clean for a small bottle of wine. This was perfect for our 2 night stay. The room got a little warm at night (even with the heating turned down) and we slept with the window open even though it was February - this was fine as there was no noise from outside the hotel. There is nice spread at breakfast and they even serve complimentary Prosecco if you like a tipple in the morning. Tip: we walked from Zurich main station and the slope/hill en route is not very easy with big luggage.

I booked a room with a terrace on the top floor, but at check-in I was assigned a room without a balcony or terrace, even though I paid even more for this type of suite. There is no manager in the facility to clarify. Not recommended, there is better in Zurich!

This hotel exceeded our every expectation. Perfect location, walk to everything including the train station, shopping, sights and restaurants. The room was spacious even by US Standards, with very comfortable beds and sofa. The breakfast was exceptional and all of the staff was very helpful. We will be back and we will recommend this hotel as a great hotel and great value in Zurich.

I stayed in the Best Western Plus Hotel Zucherhof for 3 nights last month. The hotel is ideally located in the old town. The main train station is only around 500m away. Various sights, including the Fraumuster and the Grossmunster, are within walking distance. There're dining options of all budgets in the neighbourhood. I'd an urban double room which was quite spacious for 1 person. It's clean with the modern amenities I needed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was of a decent size. The sound insulation was reasonably good. Even if my room was facing the street, I only heard little noise at night. The room rate included breakfast. While it's by no means sumptuous, there's a sufficient selection of food. I've been to Zurich many times. I don't know if the street which the hotel is located has become a red light district. When I was on my way back to the hotel after dinner, I saw some prostitutes outside the hotel. They tried to talk to me but they're neither aggressive nor harassing. It wasn't an issue for me but may be a problem for other visitors. Considering the price I paid and the price level in Zurich, it's value for money.

I think this has become my new favourite hotel! It's motto 'cosy city hotel' couldn't be more true. While the building is very 'old Europe', the room we had was modernly equipped and efficiently laid out. (But there is a charming old style elevator which I loved.) The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk to the Zurich train station and handy to river cruises, lake cruises, museums, grocery and retail stores. Our room had one king bed and overlookeda cobblestone alley with a library across the way. I loved opening the window (complete with window seat) and listening to the church bells tolling each evening. The hotel was very quiet at night and other than being awake from jet lag at times, we slept very well. The architecture in the neighbourhood is old and amazing - we are from Western Canada and nothing we have can compare to the age of some of these buildjngs. Breakfast has many choices and you can actually 'order' eggs cooked the way you like them or choose what ingredients you would like in an omelet. Everything was delicious! The room where breakfast is served is stunning - concrete walls and arched ceiling decorated with white grapes and vines in places, old leaded glass windows with coats of arms in them - I noticed something I had missed each morning. And the hotel staff were all very welcoming, polite and helpful (even when they told me I wouldn't be getting any Best Western Rewards points because our travel agent had booked via a 3rd party instead of on the Best Western website. Even that sad news didn't dampen my excitement at staying in such an all around lovely hotel ! It was a great start to our time in Switzerland.

This Hotel does a lot of things right. A free minbar, stocked with water, two coke's, and a beer, plus free bottled water at the reception area, are a nice touch, and much more welcoming then a minbar with 10$ price tag for a bottle of water. Upon arrival the evening receptionist checked me in very professionally, friendly, and helpful. I had worse check-ins at 4 star superior hotels, hence I was pleasantly surprised. Great first impression. I arrived around 10 p.m. and was leaving at 6:30 a.m. My rate included breakfast. The receptionist explained that breakfast only starts at 7 a.m. but they can give me a to-go box in morning. I thought, that's perfect, just what I need. She handed me a form where I could tick what I want, and the desired pick-up time at the reception. Upon check-out at 6:30 a.m. the professional receptionist has been replaced by a curt and unwelcoming guy. He said that breakfast was already open, and hence he didn't prepare my to-go breakfast. He mentioned that the problem was, that it would get warm. How big the issue is for a slice of break, honey, jam, and cheese to get warm, is questionable. Further, the form contained a field where I could specify the pick-up time. He could have prepared it shortly beforehand. For me that sounds more like a complete refusal to work. I had to decline his offer to join breakfast which was no suddenly half an hour ahead open, as I was expecting the to-go box and had an appointment at 7 a.m. where I could not be late. Hence I left the hotel without any breakfast, and the time for filling out the form and returning it to the reception was just a big waste of time. As for the Hotel itself, the property is old. There is one old, small, and slow elevator for the entire Hotel, which is absolutely not sufficient. Even during the off-peak hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. the wait for the elevator was long. I was traveling for business, and booked a single room. I stay often in single rooms in Zurich when I travel for business. This was by far the smallest I encountered so far. Also very basic in amenities. No phone, TV without a portal to set up an alarm, hence no wake-up call possible to set up, as they advertise on the website. The shower and the shower door were abysmal narrow. With a shower door like this, they should provide you a giant shoehorn, to help with the squeeze. Im not massive, and it think that people with XXL sizes could have big trouble in there. For me overall a disappointment. I can't recommend this hotel, nor do I have any plans to return anytime soon.

Stayed here for two nights . Receptionist were lovely and helpful. Breakfasts were great. Pretty good value ( stayed in upgraded room, very clean and great location. But no a/c and lots of street noise as turned out was an area for legal street prostitution from 10pm to 2am. Then all went quiet……..Didn't know about this till checked it out on second night. Again super hot, open windows, street noise this time checked it out and found the prostitution thing.Peter this to be NIMBY…..

the reception man geoffrey is extremely rude d humiliating we had a very very bad experience even if they offer rooms for free, please stay away as long this person is there his behaviour can ma you seriously ill. i would caution all travellers to avoid staying here, till this person is there

Very good location near the centre and restaurant area. Nice breakfast. Clean, cosy rooms. Friendly staff. BUT. The air conditioners are old and extremely noisy! Prepare ear plugs during summer months. Also because the nearby church bells ring every 15 minutes also during night!!

Enjoyed a 4 night stay at this hotel which is located in the Old Town of Zurich. We loved the location which was surrounded by restaurants and a very short stroll to the city centre. Check in was quick and the staff very friendly. The room was adequate with a comfortable bed and pillows. The room was quite warm but a fan and portable air conditioner were supplied in the room. Breakfast was very nice with amply choices.

Great location super friendly staff we moved to lauterbrunnen for two nights and the hotel kept the luggage till our return nice breakfast the room was Cousy and beds were comfortable they had an AC machine in the room which was fine and strange

This was our 3rd visit to this hotel and our worst! We choose this hotel for it's vicinity to the Zurich BHF and up to this stay, a quiet clean room , comfortable bed and an updated bathroom and shower was what we had. We usually stay in Zurich overnight after arrival from US on our way to various points of interest in Switzerland. Unfortunately this stay was not that. The room faced the street with a lot of noise from people talking in "Slovak" language (Polish, Russian, Serbian, etc) til late hours of the night. The hotel staff was certainly oblivious to this fact as it was happening right in front of the hotel. I have seen it mentioned in other reviews. The most important part of this disappointing stay was the fact that the mattress on my wife's side was completely "broken" and caved in! She had to move to my side to feel any resemblance of comfort and support. She woke up with a bad back. The next morning upon check-out when we brought it to the attention of the front desk, we were told that we should have brought it to their attention! Really? At 10 PM when we first settled in our hotel room after a stroll around the city!? Not a great answer. Beware of the noise and check the mattress as soon as you arrive! To Best Western Corporate: Have the hotel staff be more sensitive to the constant noise in front of their property and as small as it might sound, we stay at BW hotels all around the world, we were never acknowledged as "Diamond" Members at check in, nor our room had the bottled water as customary. We will look for another alternative next time.

Hotel is about a 7 min easy walk (even with luggage) across the river from the main station. Nicely located to walk around old town, the main street or to walk down to the lake and back up from the other side of the river. Had the triple room which was very spacious and also included free mini bar. Bathroom was clean and whilst not new, was comfortable to use with no old or mouldy areas. Breakfast was nice and they even prepare freshly cooked eggs to your liking including omelettes. All staff in the hotel were lovely and helpful. There is a fabulous laundromat a half a minute walk away in a nearby side street. You need to book a time as there are only two washers and two dryers. The people running it are amazing!

The staff at the Best Western Zurich were so helpful and our room was spacious and clean. The location was perfect for touring Zurich and taking day trips from the train station. We appreciated the lovely breakfast provided each morning. We hope to return to Switzerland and will definitely stay here again.

Never again. I will upgrade myself and grant me a good and safe hotel for my next stay in Zūrich.Although I am was a frequent customer in that hotel, and alway had nice small rooms in the back, yesterday the hotel was not full, and I was given the most tiny 6m2 room, on the first floor, street side, no airco with 30*C outside, with a bed squeezed between the wall and the window. My feet touching the window. I was a frequent customer in that hotel. Other hotels give you upgrades, lol, here I was given a nightmare, They changed the staff, no adults, just very little educated untidy young staff now. Starting 22hPM untill 3AM I had 6 serbian prostitutes, smoking, chatting loudly, listening to music on their phone, discussing prices with passing man, cars slowing down, etc and around 2 AM a man came, talking serbian, their boss maybe, parking his limousine on the sideway, opening the trunk and playing music, until he took them all away in the car. I film. Could have been epic, if I did not have an important meeting next day, no sleep and felt put upon the staff. When I complained in the morning, no Management available, of course the staff knew about the prostitution under that window, they gave me 50CHF reduction with an ironic smile. Toxic atmosphere in that hotel.

Our hotel room was a nice big size and they had kindly given us a large fan as the hotel doesn't have aircon (we did already know this in booking). The room was clean and we had a fridge to keep our water/wine cold which was great. The breakfast is really fabulous with hot food cooked to order and all the normal cereals/pastries/cheeses. A nice touch was the Mimosas which you can make yourself from the drinks selection. We stayed on our wedding anniversary so enjoyed a glass to celebrate over breakfast. There is bottles water and ice cream available in the reception area which was a really great touch. The massive down side for us was the noise from the street. We were street facing and on the first floor and the noise was so bad the first two nights, we had no choice but to keep all the windows closed on the last night which meant we were so hot. Unfortunately we left feeling so tired with one of the nights, we were awake from midnight so we'd only had literally a few hours sleep that night.

The rooms and bathrooms are small, but adequate. Be aware they do not have AC just window units which only work so-so. They do include a refrigerator with free cold drinks and there is a cooler in the lobby with free cold water plus a freezer in the lobby with free gelato. The location was pretty good - close to lots of shops & restaurants.

The hotel is located in Old Town with easy access to many great places of interest in Zurich. We walked with heavy suitcases from the train station to the hotel but we wouldn't have wanted it to be much farther. The staff was very helpful with all of our questions. The hotel provided a free bottle of water, ice cream and fruit in the lobby. Guests could use either the stairs or an elevator. Breakfast was included, managed by a very friendly woman who made sure we got lots to eat including eggs made to order. The breakfast room was so comfortable, offering a typical European buffet with lots of good bread, cheeses, cereals, yogurt, and delicious coffee. We didn't use the noisy air conditioner, instead opening the windows to get a nice breeze. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise below coming from partiers until quite late. Our standard room, though small, offered us all we needed for a one-night stay.

All staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Great breakfast. Very comfortable beds. Updated very clean decor with everything you could possibly need, including kettle, shoe horn, free minibar, free ice cream, bottled water, fruit and pastries available. Fantastic location in the Old Town within easy walking distance to restaurants and station. Individual air conditioning units were used to cool down the rooms but were a little noisy. This would not normally be a problem, but we arrived to hot weather. We would definitely recommend this family run hotel and we will use it again when staying in Zurich.

The hotel is located in Old Town and convenient to so many great places of interest in Zurich. It's also an 8 minute (easy) walk to the train station. The staff was very accommodating and we enjoyed chatting with them while trying to figure out plans. Breakfast was included and very good and plentiful. It is a typical European buffet with lots of good bread, cheese, cereals, yogurts, etc. The coffee machine works magic! So good! They also offer omelets to-order. We specifically searched for a hotel that offered air conditioning. The portable unit worked great and we grateful for it!

Location: center of old town and most attractions and main train station reach by few minutes of walk Reception staff: very friendly and provided all information needed for our stay. Hotel: clean , have elevator , free water bottles , ice cream and fruits are at the reception area. Rooms: spacious family room , one large bed and separate kids bed. Clean and nice wash area. Breakfast: well spread , amazing staff and like the variety of on order eggs. Over all very satisfying stay and I would rate 10/10 for this property and sure recommend to stay here for your visit in Zurich and for transit to other cities .

Great hotel in the center of Zurich! Everything was great - the location, the cleanness, the facilities, the breakfast, the price - everything! The only thing that is missed is air conditioning in the room so if you're coming in the middle of the summer it might be a problem

Cozy hotel conveniently located in old town Zurich. We stayed here for 4 nights in May and had reserved 2 rooms for 3 adults. We got rooms on the first floor conveniently close to each other and we're decent size for the location. Rates are a bit pricey like other hotels in Zurich but the amenities of the property, location and most importantly the hotel staff make the choice value for money. Located nearby all attractions, transportation and restaurants there's plenty of choice. The breakfast spread is amazing and a great start to the day. Excellent breads, cereals, salmon, meats and eggs cooked to order. Coffee machine. The staff are very helpful don't hesitate asking for local recommendations that one wouldn't otherwise be aware of. We enjoyed our stay immensely. Would highly recommend.

They thought of everything in the very new room. The bed was big and comfortable. Even had a patio if needed. Plenty of room and especially shelves. Free beer! Overall a pleasure to stay here. Not sure of the value because I booked on points.

The hotel is great was everything I needed. It was close to a train stop, so transportation was easy. Had lots of great restaurants to try out. And a store is nearby in case you needed to grab anything. The rooms were clean and the showers were awesome. Staff was super helpful and friendly.

Pre-Reservation communication was excellent. Check in was easy and got allocated a room immediately. Great hotel in the centre of Zurich, close to train station, shops, river and everything. Room was large and clean. Breakfast was excellent and would definitely return. Front desk staff were brilliant and more helpful than most of the five star hotels I usually stay at. Great selection of pubs and restaurants nearby the hotel, so we did not go hungry!!! Safe did not work initially but no problem was fixed immediately. Quiet and safe sleep overnight.

We loved it here… the location was a easy 10 minute walk from the main train station. There are lots of restaurants nearby… try Holy Cow Gourmet Burger Co., which was excellent. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Top floor rooms have beautiful rooftop views which we really enjoyed. Items in the minibar we're free! And if you skip housekeeping, you can get a bottle of wine! Unfortunately, the free ice cream I had read about, is only offered in the summer. Their breakfast offerings were plentiful… Fresh bread, salmon, cereal, eggs, pastries, and more in a beautiful crypt like setting. The reception staff could not have been more helpful… Special shout out goes to Rebecca and Shaila! This is a good choice and good valued hotel within easy walking distance of the river and lots of beautiful Old Town Zurich sights!

Even by major city European standards, the room was exceptionally small. The bed was smaller Thaler than a single; essentially a child's bed. The radiant heat wasn't working. Front desk clerk recognized and brought a small portable heater to roo. Still I repaired 4 days later at checkout . Other than good location, this property is very fully priced.

A small family run hotel, clean and modern with very friendly staff. Between August/September, we stayed at this hotel three times while exploring Switzerland. Very good location, close to Altstadt and the Main Train station. Good breakfast was included. Recommended.

I must give very high praise for the friendly and professional hotel representative named Shaila,who was so enthusiastic and bubbly… a First Class representative of the hotel. When I checked out, the morning of Sept. 18/22 the front desk fellow was loudly talking to himself. He handled the checkout properly, however, he was not a pleasant gentleman at all; a bit creepy actually.

Avoid room 406. This was one of the strangest room experiences I've ever had. When you open the door to the room, you enter directly into the toilet and shower! You literally walk through the toilet to get to your bed. Another reason to avoid room 406 is the temperature. It's right under the roof of the building and there is no airconditioning, only a small fan on the desk is provided. It gets very hot even in August. The shower seems newly renovated with new fittings but the water pressure is very weak. The overall service and breakfast is ok. WiFi was slow now and then.

The Best Western Plus Hotel Zürcherhof is a small inventory hotel (book early to avoid disappointment) and it is located in the historic old town of Zurich, a stone throw away from the Bahnhofstrasse main shopping district and the main Train station. I particularly love the hotel's service and amenities. At the lobby, they have complimentary snacks, Ice Cream and bottled water (both sparkling and still) and I feel that they are really very hospitable and generous. I observed that they do have a lot of repeated customers which is a strong testament they did the right thing. My room is a triple room which comes with a King size bed and a Single Bed. Very functional, whatever things that you require it comes with it. A complimentary minibar comes with 2 bottle of beer, 2 bottle of Coke and 2 bottle of water. It also has a Coffee and Tea making facilities as well. The service is excellent. Very courteous and attentive. Truly they exemplify their Swiss Hospitality. My room comes with Breakfast which is a plus point as well as any meals can be expensive in Switzerland. It comes with a few hot dishes plus all the cold cuts, yogurt and bread, juices and coffee/tea served in a very typical Swiss Restaurant. In short, it is a wonderful stay in Zurich, great location, great service, great inclusion.

Stayed here for 4 nights in June, 2022. Want to give a long distance complement to both Rebecca and Panayotis who were both excellent. Cheerful, full of good advice and helpful in all respects. Have to complement the management on having staff of this caliber. Location was as good as it gets. Restaurants all around, and a few blocks to the river. The hotel was clean. There is no AC so keep that in mind if you go during the summer. They do have fans in the rooms. The bed was comfortable and the items in the mini fridge were complementary. The blackout curtains didn't cover the windows all the way. There was a gap like maybe there had been 4 curtains but one was removed and not replaced. The breakfast also had a sign that said they had gluten-free bread upon request but when we asked the had no options available. Overall it was a nice hotel and I slept pretty well.

We had one of the best hospitality in Switzerland. The rooms are well equipped with all the facilities you need for the stay. Rebecca at the front desk was soo helpful in everything we asked her for. Breakfast spread was not big but was sufficient and quality of food and interior was top notch.

This hotel is the best hotel of this style and price I have stayed at in Europe so far. The room amenities are excellent! Mini bar is filled up each day at no extra charge. Wifi is good. TV stations cover all languages. Not that you would want to spend much time watching TV in such a great city. It is located in amongst restaurants and bars. Close to the main Train Station and local tram stops. The Breakfast is good and covered all taste. All the staff that I dealt with were excellent, especially Rebecca who helped in answering any of my tourist questions (Thanks Rebecca!) I can highly recommend this hotel.

An Awesome hotel. Date of visit was 10/20/2021 thru 10/23/2021 (3 nights). This may the friendliest hotel I have ever been in. The staff was outstanding and most helpful! First of all, the Hotel is less than a 10 minute walk to or from the Central Train Station (SBB). The rooms are larger than expected. Smaller than American standards but larger than most European rooms! The Hotel is located at the north end of Old Town Zurich. All of Old Town is an easy walk with many streets side café and restaurants throughout Old Town. You are surrounded by history. A European continental breakfast is included for every night's stay. You also may order from the kitchen, eggs cooked to order (eggs, easy over, scrambled, Omelets of choice and more.) NO EXTRA CHARGE!!! Staff was helpful with restaurant tips (where to eat at night) and/or you may like to eat here for dinner, too! Great hotel restaurant. Hotel also includes a mini-bar stocked daily with beverages including beer, water and cokes daily. We needed to get to Basel from Zurich and staff made reservations and printed out our tickets on the SBB (Swiss train system) at NO extra charge. There are so many good things about this Hotel that I cannot list them all. The only low point of our stay is that the mirror in the bathroom was high on the wall. My wife (5'1" tall) had to stand on her tip toes to use the mirror. Over all, a great experience!

We stayed at Hotel Zucherhoff in late October. Hotel is steps from Old Town. Our room was very nice, clean, and spacious. Included breakfast was excellent with made to order eggs, meats, fruits, breads and more. Beds were very comfortable. The staff was very helpful, especially Receptionists Rebecca and Sabrina, who helped us with restaurant recommendations, Covid requirements, and transportation options. Highly recommended.

The room was very good and clean. the view of the street from the room was very nice. the location was excellent right next to many restaurants and there is starbucks a few meters from the hotel. the hotel had free ice cream and cold mineral water bottels in the lobby and you could get them as much as you like. that was very useful beacuse it was very hot there in august. the stuff in the reception were very helpfull and friendly and helped us a lot with every question and request. the breakfast was very good as well. I would definatly go back again if I'm in Zurich!

I stayed at the est Western Plus Hotel Zurcherhof for a solo trip, a long weekend I took in September 2021. I chose the hotel because it looked centrally located on the map, and most importantly to me close to the Zurich HbF. It's about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the train station. I read some reviews about the noisiness of the hotel and I stayed on both the second and fourth floors and didn't hear any disturbances from the noise on the street. The thing that did keep me up was the humidity of Zurich during my stay and I didn't have an air conditioner in my second floor room. My fourth floor room had one and the sleep was much more pleasant with cool, dry air. The breakfast was just okay. They have taken extreme measures in terms of coronavirus protections, like individually wrapping plates of cheese and meat so that people can take individual servings. While I appreciate the sentiment, it did make the food look less appealing to have it all covered in plastic wrap. Above everything else was the friendliness and service provided by the hotel. It was top notch and the front desk staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and very accommodating. I also really like the free gelato. I'd stay there again, probably.

the location is great, right in the city center, near bars and restaurant and train station, it gets a bit noise later in the night due many people leaving the bars, the room was very small, the bathroom was extremely small, staff was very friendly and breakfast was very good.

I stayed at the Zürcherhof, notably because of its (very central) location. I booked he highest room category to have a decent room size, but more importantly, a terrasse overlooking Zürich Old Town. So the room was nice, the staff kind and helpful, and the breakfast, good. A nice mid-range budget option in Zurich (i.e. CHF 200-250 range for my room).

Stayed at Zurcherhof for 5 nights, planning on taking day trips to Bern, Lucerne and other small towns. Above average experience, very clean, SUPERIOR staff, breakfast okay, close to train station. Some free amenities. It was warm and we were lucky to get a portable A/C which made all the difference in the world. Close to Old Town with many restaurants close by .We don't travel to Europe to watch TV...but there were about 10 English language channels for movies and such. Again, absolutely the best staff ever !!! Would stay again

We stayed for one night in a large family room (double bed and pull out sofa for the kids). The staff were excellent, both in the hotel and the restaurant where we ate in the evening. Hotel is right in the centre , and close to the tram stops. The room was clean, modern and had some ice touches (ipad instead of a book for hotel services etc). Breakfast was great, lots of choice, and we could order scrambled eggs as well which came quickly) Would recommend this hotel, and we will be back here next time we visit Zurich.

Having spent some 30 nights at Zürcherhof during 2020, I can warmly recommend this place to anyone looking for a central, quiet, friendly, comfortable and practical hotel in Zurich. The restaurant is also really excellent and recommended if you are looking for traditional Swiss food like cheese fondue or raclette.

We stayed here after escaping the second UK lockdown on the way back home to Thailand. What a brilliant choice it was we cannot recommend enough. I am often hard to please but this hotel and especially the staff exceeded all expectations. Great service from check in onwards and all reception staff especially Rebecca. Room was super clean great bedding and comfortable bed. Only little moan the pillows are super soft would have been nice if had harder pillows had been available. Housekeeping was friendly and efficient. Highlight was breakfast great choice of food including cooked to order eggs. Always plentiful supply of food. Again super friendly staff in the restaurant. Internet speeds were super at 150mb so great for streaming. Hotel location just 5 min walk from Zurich HB station so great for getting about. Stay here and you will not be disappointed. Good value for money too.

The hotel is nicely situated with the old town on walking distance. Rooms are fine, clean and have everything you need. Breakfast in the attached restaurant is really good. The rooms are a bit out-dated. The restaurant is also worth a visit for dining at night. As the hotel is in the old town bar district, it can be a bit noisy at night.

Excellent service by a very friendly and helpfull staff. Best breakfast ever for a 3 star hotel. Location is superb, very central in Altstadt but not in the overcrowded small street with all bars/restaurants. On arrival they even offered me an upgrade to a more spacious room for free!

Looking for a good but not pretentious hotel in Zurich I found this Best western plus . Also thank to good reviews. Well, could not have choosed Better . Really few minutes walk from station and to the old town , so nice by the way. At reception a warm , smiling welcome at chek in . Water , a coffee and even ice cream were offered while waiting , and every day if u wanted. We had an upgrade to a top floor room , nice, large enough ,with a balcony and very practic bathroom with walk in shower. Perfect bed and pillows menù. No air conditioned , as often at this latitude in Europe , but a fan , usually enough. And complmentary minibar with coke, water and beer, refilled daily. Neverless Covid breakfast was in buffet form , mostly in sealed mono portion , of very good quality and always refilled promptly. Self service machine for hot beverages of best quality and complete egg menu' present on table .And ,most important, the kindness of all the staff , and the true smile . I felt theyr passion for what were doing , seemed happy they could do It . And compliments to general manager , always present at morning asking for ur opinion and impression. He can not be extraneus to this general , pleasant feeling. Thanks again , a perfect stay . Troletti

We arrived in Zurich tired from a 13 hr journey from singapore with a 4 year old and 11 month old. The staff here were able to get us in for an early check in. The staff were so helpful and the room clean and comfortable for us. The location is perfect for exploring on foot the old town. I very reasonable price compared to other hotels in the vicintity.

An amazing location, minutes from the train station and right on the main pedestrian street which you take to explore Zurich's Altstadt. Good internet and breakfast, clean room and bathroom--though not all single rooms are equal size based on my two stays. I think what I liked the best was the extensive offerings of foreign language channels, including many English language ones, and not just the usual "news only" fare.

The location in the old town area is great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful with my questions. The room was clean and tidy. I don't have any complaints about this hotel and would recommend others to stay there too.

The hotel is in the Old Town near many shops and restaurants. I felt safe walking around at night. There are also many public transportation options nearby. My room was spacious and had many windows. However, my friend's room was slightly bigger than a closet. Although, I had reserved a room with two beds, I received one bed and a pullout sofa - disappointing. None of us were able to get the Wifi to work. We asked at the reception but they were not able to help us get Wifi. The shower was great with plenty of hot water and good pressure. The room also has a complementary minibar. The included breakfast offered many options including complementary mimosas.

The room was cramped, bathroom is the same, i think this is the usual single room you can get in Zurich where everything is expensive. Room is clean, on my first night upon lying on their bed i had an itchy back. None on the second day, not sure if this with the bed or the housecleaning. Breakfast is good, same as it's location.

It was my first time in Zurich so before visiting I was a bit stressed concerning the hotel the food and of course the people. But staying at Zurcherhof hotel I'm really excited!!! I will surely visit this beautiful city with the most hospitable, friendly and polite people and stay at the best hotel I've ever been to. That is Zurcherhof Hotel of course a clean cosy hotel with staff who make you feel at home. I can strongly recommend it.

The Best Western Zurich was a great choice during a weekend getaway to Zurich. The hotel is located in the Old Town area and centrally located. It was a short walk to fantastic restaurants and the train station. The surrounding area was clean and safe, with lots of shopping options. The only concern was the noise at night. The hotel is located near a few clubs, and it can get noisy on the weekends. However, the windows in our room were pretty thick and the noise was only a problem when we had the windows open. The staff at the Best Western were extremely friendly and helpful. The selection of restaurants in the area was great but expensive. Our favorite restaurant, The White Elephant, was a short walk from the hotel. Be prepared to pay high prices for food. Overall, this hotel was a wonderful choice in a beautiful city!

What a fine place to spend a few days! OK, the heat was sporadic and a couple of light bulbs didn't work. However, the charm and perceived interest of the staff, as well as the pride they take in showing off Zurich, are difficult to learn; they're simply innate talents. The care shows in the breakfast prep, presentation, and attention from the staff. It shows in the time front desk people willingly spend to get the information and details just right. Other BW properties would do well to send employees here to learn how it's done.

This is not a US Best Western; rather this is a clean, modern European hotel. The Room was bigger than usual in Europe. Great Location with walking distance to old town, shopping, Christmas Market, restaurants. We walked from the train station too. The hotel Restaurant had a good breakfast, but was even better for fondue for dinner.

We have stayed in Best Western hotels before and found them very good but this one was a let down. We stayed for 3 nights just before Christmas 2019. The room we were given was tiny with a big post right in the middle of the room which made it even more cramped. The fan in the shower room would not go off and even though I asked the reception 3 times to look at it and was promised they would, nothing was done. One of the receptionists even told me that I should chase up their housekeeping about it! We also unfortunately ate in their restaurant too which I would not recommend. Extremely over priced and very average food. Would not stay here again and would not recommend.

This is a great hotel in a good location- easy walk from the station with luggage. The rooms are a bit tight with little space to open luggage but we managed. We stayed in mid-December for Christmas period in Zürich. The hotel has a very convenient location, the rooms are a bit small but comfortable. They offer the drinks in mini bar for free (Beer, water, fizzy water, milk, Coke) and also instant coffee, condensed milk etc. for free. The management and personnel are very friendly (i.e. Martin Spyche General Manager, Panagiotis, (the Chief of Reception-Front Office), Rebecca (Reception), Nehir (Restaurant) and Teresa (Restaurant). They offer wonderful breakfast (especially cheese varieties)). The hotel was very clean and whenever we needed something they provided in 5 minutes. Thanks for everything:))

I spent 2 nights at this great hotel at the old city center, perfect place for great walks through the city. The hotel is good, the staff is amazing. Very gentle, very polite: great hospitality!! Well done GM Martin and your team!

we booked in advanced and asked for a room with view. they offered a room at the top. when we arrived we found out there is no view from any room in the hotel. this is something they should have told us in advance. we would have still booked this hotel as it was situated very central. the staff was always friendly (martin the manager was almost over friendly) We enjoyed our stay but have small suggestions- like fresh bread at breakfast and a better functioning elevator.

My fiance and I came here as our last Christmas Europe city stop. We stayed at the Best Western due to the price and central location. It's close to many restaurants and shops. The front desk associate was so kind and letting us crash there until our room was ready. The bed was so comfy and the free breakfast was a nice spread.

Have just returned from a couple of days in Zurich for the Christmas markets and 2 nights at the Zurcherhof. Everything was great, from the rooms,cleanliness,and ample breakfast. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. Unfortunately we had to leave early for our flight and missed a breakfast, but the staff made us a packed lunch which was really lovely and appreciated. Overall we had a great time and would highly recommend this hotel as it was perfect location for sightseeing and also 10 mins walk from the train station.

This small hotel is well located in the old town 5-10 minutes walk from the main Zürich train station and Bahnhofstrasse with its many exclusive stores. My double room was spacious, clean, modern and comfortable. A minor issue was some mild street noise at night, which I was warned about. All the reception and restaurant staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Comfortable bed and pillow, very clean and well stocked in room service. I would absolutely recommend without any hesitation. 10/10 for everything. Not a 5 star but their service is remarkable. Breakfast was excellent too. Spread of bread and cheese with fruits etc. For the price you cannot find better location or a better hotel.

we arrived early in the morning way before the allowed check in time but their reception was very hospitable. they have complimentary coffee/juice at the counters where we can help ourselves to while we unpack our daily goods and left our suitcase for them until later in the day. location is very convenient, 10mins from the main train station and its parallel to all the restaurants and shops so very walkable. there are also restaurants and cafes down this street. no fear of missing out on any type of action even on Sundays where most places, even eateries are closed, there is bound to have something here. the only down side is that the noise in the evening is quite unavoidable as people talk and drink, sing or what not on the streets and it echoes straight up to the rooms regardless on which floor you are on, and that is why when you check into your room the hotel already provides ear plugs for the guests......unfortunately they were not strong enough..... they have a very very very small elevator which is acceptable and understandable in European standard and is already a plus especially if u travel with a family or seniors... we found out their connecting restaurant is a very highly rated local Swiss restaurant but we weren't able to try it out as they are closed on Sundays. breakfast is included and I must say compared to many other hotels the standard of their breakfast is quite high. good variety, clean and even has a nice touch of making fresh omelettes customised to your liking. I have recommended this to my friends already and do not mind sharing the same here

No frills pleasant venue with excellent and friendly service. Modern, bright and clean, the hotel is only 10 minutes from the main station. My only suggestion would be to supply warmer doonas and bulkier pillows. The breakfast was varied and good.

This hotel is nicely located in Old Town, a short walk across the river from the train station and situated near lots of good restaurants. Our room was clean and comfortable (and apparently recently remodeled). While the room was on the small side (like many old European hotels), it had everything we needed and the space was used well. (Note, the room was not air conditioned, but there were two fans that kept us cool.) The staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet was very good. Highly recommended if you are looking for a nice, boutique hotel at a good price (especially for Zurich).

This hotel is centrally located, clean, with pleasant reception. The breakfast included in the rate is provided by the adjoined restaurant which provides a wide range of offerings: local cheeses, meats, honey on the comb, eggs, coffee, and even sparking wine! During our stay, they offer free toiletries if needed: toothpaste, shave cream, etc. We were visiting during warmer weather and there is no A/C. That's really not surprising, but fortunately the evenings cool and a fan is provided in each room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here as it was moderately priced, clean, and pleasant.

This Best Western Plus is a boutique hotel that is In the center of Old Town but is still a modern remodeled facility. My room was stylish and clean with a very comfortable bed. But I what I liked best with this hotel was the very friendly and welcoming staff. I came in early to see if they would store my main luggage as I was planning to go several days into the Swiss Alps with only my backpack. Without hesitation, the front clerk gladly stored my luggage and ensured that I had reservations several days later. When I came back from the Swiss Alps, my room was ready early and I immediately took advantage of the free minibar. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely wonderful. You can special order egg entrees cooked on the spot. The variety of food at the buffet table was better than most places that I stayed in Switzerland. Teresa, the hostess, was welcoming and always checking to make sure everything was okay. One last thing - the breakfast room was in an old atmospheric part of the hotel. It serves as their restaurant later in the day. It was so nice to have breakfast in an attractive place instead of the spartan breakfast rooms you find in other hotels.

The manager is very attentive and explains in details. The service and hospitality is good same as the location, walking distance to main train station. Only con is might be some noise during weekend night, but didn't really bother me.

This is my favorite place to stay in Zurich. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and everyone speaks excellent English. They also have a genuine interest in their customers. One morning at breakfast the manager was there asking everyone about their stay, and at check in I think it was Sabrina was very helpful in applying a Best Western voucher I had and making me feel like a welcomed Diamond member. I love the solo rooms and they are very efficient. I've stayed at other places in the Niederdorf (only because this one was sold out) and did not enjoy them as much. The included breakfast, drinks in the mini fridge, and water and ice cream in the lobby are a wonderful touch - and a very good value as food is very expensive in Switzerland. The location is close to the train station, tram lines, restaurants, Migros grocery, and bus station for tours. I look forward to the (fake) frog in the bathroom welcoming me back here on my next visit to Zurich!

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in August. The hotel is very clean, nice bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a free mini bar with beer, coke, water and milk. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Breakfast was lovely with egg dishes to order which were brought out very quickly. Free ice creams, bottled water and fruit in reception and very helpful staff who speak excellent English. The hotel is ideally located for lots of bars and restaurants and close to the river for walks. If you require a parking space I would recommend booking in advance as the hotel only has 3 spaces which are in high demand. Zurich itself is very expensive but we were expecting that so no surprise there! We would definitely stay at Hotel Zurcherhof again when visiting Zurich in future.

We picked this hotel because of its good reviews as well as its location. The hotel is ideally located near old town; the hotel is only a short walk from the main train station and short walk on the Mühlesteg bridge over the Limmatt River to walk down the main shopping street Bahnhofstrasse towards Old Town and Paradeplatz; a nice 15 to 20 minute walk. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with all our questions and were always willing to assist. The free continental breakfast was good with a decent selection of items to start your day. Our room which did not have any great views (but that was fine with us as we were not in our room much during the daylight) was very clean and with private bathroom. We we pleasantly surprised that the room was decently sized; larger than most typical European hotel rooms. Overall, we highly recommend staying here especially if you will be visiting Old Town. We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely come here again.

I had booked this hotel for two nights at zurich. This hotel exceptionally clean and efficient. We stayed in 309 and it was great. Is very close to Zurich HB station. Also close to to the Zurich river and options of sightseeing. What I loved about this hotel is pre arrival queries and speed of reply. Sabrina was wonderful answering all queries immediately. Super fast and quick. Thier breakfast is basic but good. Eggs to order. Sparkling wine. Cheese. Croissant. Bread and good quality fruits. 3 to 4 types of juices. 3 cold cuts, few vegetables raw, good selection of home made jams. They are efficient so warning for Indian customers. Dont expect service on the table. Is a buffet so move your ass and pick up the food yourself. Another note for Indian travelers, rooms are enough for two people. So if are going to with an green child, it will be tight. The bed pillows and shower wad wonderful. Good quality. They give the entire minibar free for one filling. It has a couple of beers water etc.. bottled water is available for free at the reception. So though can go and pick it up. Don't be lazy to call reception and ask them to deliver to your room as you do in india. Cute this is at ice cream is available free in reception too. One caution. The place has automatic closures to main doors. So if you are coming back late to the hotel. You may have ring the bell outside to let you in. In a way it's a good thing that is secured. Also like in india when you check into hotels you expect a zillion channels . Dont expect this in this place. You are in zurich so sit and watch TV. There are other things to do. One last thing. The nearby areas are full of bars and restaurants. So if you are the very serious kind with family suggest you go elsewhere and stay. This place is a fun place..so the outsides can be a good fun. If i am in zurich I would definitely stay back for its cleanliness. Efficient yet flexible approach. And especially for sabrina who was excellent

We loved our stay and unfortunately could only get one night. Nice comfy rooms, clean, big fluffy towels and were even provided with a fan. Great location and staff - couldn't ask for better. The free ice cream and water in the lobby were so appreciated. Would recommend anyone stay there.

The hotel room is very clean and tidy. The staff are very helpful. Their restaurant provides the best breakfast with many choices comparing to other hotels in Zurich. The minibar in room are included and they even provide free bottle water and ice cream at the lobby. I love to stay in this hotel again!

TLDR: Don't be fooled by the best western branding, this hotel is awesome. Great location, perfect rooms and excellent service! This hotel is located in the old town of Zurich. You step out and you're already in the middle of all the action! There are lots of restaurants around this place and within a few minutes walk are lots of nice little shops. The wall to the river limnat takes just 5 minutes. This is a franchise hotel that is run pretty tight by the owners. Service is great and staff is very efficient. Free ice cream! Breakfast is standard fare but good quality. Highly recommended!

Fabulous small hotel just off centre of town. Excellent staff couldn't be more helpful at all times. Good evening meal with really interesting breakfast selection. Really quiet hotel considering its central location.

Firstly this is a good 3 star hotel in a 5 star location. The room I had was spotless and very adequate for a 2 night stay. Well appointed and thought out. The staff were always willing to please and the complimentary water fridge and help your self ice cream in reception was such a nice touch. Breakfast was also good and plentiful. The only negative was that the rooms don't have any A/C, obviously for 95% of the year this isn't an issue but when a heat wave hits Zurich, like it did last week the room (well that I had) becomes very unpleasant to say the least. I know there isn't anything that can be done in these unfavourable conditions. All other aspects of my stay exceeded expectations and the hotel location is excellent too.

A perfect hotel for a break in Zurich. Location couldn't be better, a stroll to all attractions including rail station and lake, extremely helpful ladies on reception. I had the single room which had everything I needed and more.... free mini bar and ice creams - bonus I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and if I am ever lucky enjoy return to Zurich I will be returning here for sure.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Easy walking distance from the train station and the old town part of the city. Hotel staff was great in answering any questions we had too. The breakfast was amazing as well.

You can't beat the location. Very friendly and accommodating staff, great breakfasts, very comfortable room, I would highly recommend it. I did get a little warm in the room, and with the window open it could get a little noisy, But very minor compared to the location.

Stayed in this hotel for one night and I was very impressed with everything from beginning to end. The staff are extremely helpful and I we had a friendly welcome and farewell. Room was extremely free, and we appreciated the use of the room mini bar, free of charge. Our room was extremely clean and reception will provide any items you have forgotten to pack for your trip. The Hotel is 7 minutes away from Zürich HB train station. Although we travelled to Zürich from Thun, the distance from Zürich Airport to Zürich HB is approximately 10 minutes with trains running roughly every 15 minutes. Located in the centre of Zürich, with a short walk to all the major sights, it's perfect for those sightseeing days and night walks, great restaurants are also only a stone throw away from the hotel. The hotel has a delicious breakfast selection and is also included with the booking. Thank you Best Western for such a wonderful experience. I would definitely return!!

This hotel is clean and very centrally located. The front desk helped us out with a glitch with our reservation even though it was our mistake. Awesome!! Breakfast is really good too. Its 2 blocks from the river, so it was super easy to run along the river and then continue along the lake, if that is your thing.

The Zurcherhof is about 7 min. walk from the train station and a quick walk to old town. We used it as our base to visit Bern and Lucerne which are two very easy train trips.The hotel room was very comfortable with a good balcony & view.The breakfast area is delightfully Swiss.The breakfast buffet is very good and they will prepare hot dishes. We definitely will return.

We stayed at this hotel after a very bad experience we had at Hotel Basilea next door. I can't believe this hotel is rated as 3 stars hotel ! It should be 4 stars . The room was non smoking with a balcony. Very clean and comfortable hotel and free drinks on the minibar . Front office staff very polite with good English. Fantastic location . We will definitely be back next time we visit Zürich.

I just stayed one night here as I was transferring via Zurich back to Japan. I had not read any reviews or anything prior to booking a room here, my decision was purely based on its central location (probably no more than 10-12 minutes from the central station). I trusted that the Best Western brand would at least guarantee a minimum level of acceptable comfort. And I did choose the right hotel - this hotel really sets the bar high for a hotel like this, a business-style hotel offering an extremely convenient location right in the middle of the a major European city. This hotel is right in the middle of the old part of Zurich, so there are lots of shops, restaurants, and other things to see/do in the neighborhood. The room was very modern in its design - from the outside it looked like the hotel would be older and worn down, but it looks like it's been refurbished quite recently as everything was in tip top shape. Sure, it may be a bit on the small side, but for my needs it was perfect. Breakfast buffet was included in my room, and it was served in the hotel restaurant on the first floor. Excellent service and quality. The only slightly confusing aspect was the fact that the lobby doubled as a dining room (at least when I checked in) where a large party of guests were having their dinner that evening. Not that they were loud or anything like that, it was just that I didn't realize it was the lobby at first ;-) I most definitely will come back here next time I am in Zurich.

and not the last time at the Zurcherhof! The location is top, short way to the Bahnhofstraße and Main Railway Station. The rooms are small and not comfortable for a long stay. Very well furnished and even a shoe spoon is hanging in the room. The bath is small, but also well done. Bed linen is perfect! The whole room is very clean! Breakfast is Swiss, perfect, tasty, fresh! Service friendly!

Few days ago, we stayed just for 2 nights in this beautiful hotel. Great choice, in the center of Zurich. We had a nice room, very very clean but most of all the matress of my bed was loooovely, so comfort. About breakfast, every morning there was some choice os special Swiss cheese :) champagne and HONEYCOMB, (oh yes!) Finally, me and my friends would like to thank hotel staff, especially to Mr. Panagiotis, from reception ( for his kindness), the other lady also at reception and the young girl who makes her practice in the restaurant( I'm sorry, I dont remeber her name, I know only she is very young and every morning was serving our delisious eggs). We suggest this beautifull hotel to the future guests, we assure you gonna have a pleasent stay in the heart of Zurich. 15-17/3 Irene K

That was my last night in Zurich, and no doubt this hotel hospitality is excellent!. All team did great job! My room very clean! And the location was great to reach everywhere!. Breakfast are tasty!. I used to take late check out until 6pm with extra cost because i have evening flight, and it was really worthy and lovely. Definitely I will always stay here again for my zurich trip.! Thanks team!

Good location! About 10 mins walk from the station, few steps away from the old town, restaurants, supermarket, everything! Check in was smooth, room was small but comfortable. I got the room on the first floor and I was worried that it will be too noisy as I am a light sleeper, but just closed the window and I slept like a baby! And the breakfast was amazing!!! The options are sufficient but definitely good. Will be back again for sure!

This is a nice hotel in the midst of Zurich old town, perfect location (just 10-15min from the railway station). Also great to explore Zurich tourist area: plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. I do walk a lot and was impressed with the suburbs of Zurich, churches and museums. Rooms at this Best Western are very small (at least my one), modern and clean, with free water and sodas. Breakfast was excellent in my opinion. Staff was polite and friendly. I do recommend and will return.

Japanese pod rooms come to Zürich.. beyond small.. insult to be honest. No mention on booking of a child's room.. but that's what I have been given.. no where to place suit case.. and a fan whirring outside my window. Full size price tag.. half size room.

Enjoy your relatively expensive stay in the midst of the old town of Zurich. Indeed, location in the key - close proximity to the Main Train Station, just "few steps" to explore the town and walk along the riverbank. A lot of cafes and restaurants around. Overall it was very good! I cannot say that interior of the room matched the price - too simple - but it was clean and tidy, and superior room was much larger than standard. Also liked the amenities in the shower room. Very good breakfast and in-house restaurant is excellent for dinners as well! Probably the only thing that put a dark shade on my stay was the check-in that lasts too long - the young lady worked alone, she was so overloaded with tasks and looked terribly exhausted.

Very good. One night stay with plans to return later in the week before my flight home. Firstly location - 5-10minute walk to the railway station (Hauptbahnhof) which makes this ideal as you can then get to the airport within 20 minutes. Also within easy walking distance of all the main sights (Grossmünster is 10 min walk). The rooms are immaculately clean, modern and well appointed with a free mini bar (coca cola/water/beer), tea and coffee. The breakfast was also very good with freshly prepared eggs and a large buffet style continental element. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and although part of a chain it really didn't feel like this. Brilliant!!

The hotel is a block above (quiet) Niederdorfstrasse in a great part of town. Our room was quite nice. The elevator was kinda slow so we tended to walk and down the stairs (4 flights). From here, you can walk to any place downtown.

Located near the main train station, it's one of the best choices for a comfortable stay in the old town. My room was spacious and comfortable, clean and fully equipped with good quality materials. Breakfast was very good. The stuff was polite and helpful. Perhaps the only downside was the cheese fondue smell and the noise from the restaurant at the ground floor that reached the first floor rooms. Recommended !

This is my 3rd time in this hotel and I keep returning as its in such a great location and good value for money. Each time I get a great welcome from the team and always get an upgraded room. This time I had a corner room which had a lot more space, the bathroom is also very nice and practical. I had a great nights sleep, followed by a nice breakfast. Also hotel had universal plug points in room which really helps. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back soon.

I was in St. Gallen for work and decided to spend the weekend in Zurich. I couldn't have asked for a better hotel in Zurich! Less than a 10 minute walk from the main train station and in the Old Town, the hotel was perfect! Check-in and check-out was very easy. The room was spotless & the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I unfortunately got ill during my stay, but the onsite restaurant brought toast to my room and I was allowed to check-out a bit later, which I was very grateful for. I would visit again and highly recommend!

Spent two nights at this nice low priced hotel near the central station. Room was comfortable, a little noise in the street from partygoers,but that did not bother me. Great free breakfast each morning and free mini bar. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for one night en route to Munich from France. It was a little tricky to find and you have to navigate the odd one way street! There is parking but you need to book it. The hotel was very accommodating as Booking.com had cancelled my booking as the credit card I had used when booking had expired and I was only informed of this the night before, but the night manager was very helpful and honoured the booking. When I telephoned the hotel again the following morning just to double check the person I spoke to could not have been more friendly or courteous. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and our room was extremely nice. It was very well appointed with everything you could wish for, large bed, 2 fans (much appreciated as it was very hot) tea and coffee making facilities, safe, complimentary water and a beer and many other nice touches. The room was very clean and there was a very nice modern bathroom. We ate in the restaurant on the terrace and had an extremely nice well cooked and tasty meal. Breakfast in the morning was superb, one of the best we've ever had on the continent. All the produce was of a very high standard, there was a large selection of food to choose from and hot food to order. A very impressive note was that the charming manager came around at breakfast asking if you were happy with your stay, this was so nice as managerial presence is so often missing in hotels. This is a delightful and very well run hotel.

This hotel was in walking distance of the train station. Staff were pleasant and informative. The room was quite large. The bed was a little soft for my liking. The mirror in the bathroom was to high for me to see anything but my forehead. ( I'm 5' 1 1/2 inches tall. That was very strange! We found some great restaurants and music in the old city where it is located.

I have been there in August last year with my mother we booked two single rooms and I must really recommend this hotel because is very clean and new, the rooms are comfortable with all you need, the staff very nice and patient and the location perfect! I hope to visit again this hotel in the future.

This hotel was a nice surprise - clean, cosy and quirky and in a great part of the city near to bars, cafes and restaurants. Grab some of the free ice creams in the fridge at reception or the bottled water. Free minibar in the room but there were only three bottles in there. There are coffee and tea making facilities in the room. Breakfast is included in the rate and includes eggs made to order as well as other buffet items in the ground floor restaurant. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice find.

The location is good; a couple of lanes away from the lake, the tram stop is 100m from the hotel; Bahnhofstrasse is 2-3 tram stops away. There's a Laundromat but about 10-15 mins away by tram. There are many restaurants around the old town. The hotel's own restaurant is good as well. I would recommend this hotel to people who want to live in the old town on a average budget.

Located within walking distance from Zurich Main Station and the central area of the city. Plenty of shopping and dining options nearby and felt safe to and from the hotel at night by myself. Booked a single room and it goes without saying that the room was on the small side. However, it was fine and I think the modern decor made it more comfortable. The room had no air conditioning, but the window that opened and fan provided was sufficient. The check-in/out process was uneventful, which is a good thing, and there was free breakfast, but because I had an early flight to catch I didn't really get to enjoy it. Looked nice though. Overall a good centrally located hotel option without costing an arm and a leg.

The hotel is in a great central location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although the room was not air conditioned we found it very comfortable. The hotel has free minibar and bottled water all day. The restaurant breakfast was fantastic. Would definitely stay again.

Rooms are well appointed and updated and the service offered by the reception was excellent. Breakfast spread was really good also. The location is excellent and very near to all the attractions. Parking is very limited for those who drive so plan ahead!!

The hotel is centrally located. Décor minimalist style, impeccably clean, great breakfast choice. The staff is efficient and friendly. Would definitely stay there on another occasion. Regarding the AC, an efficient fan was at our disposal in our room.

This is an excellent Best Western above what you may be accustomed to in a Best Western. The property is very nice with a very helpful staff. The rooms are well appointed and there are several free amenities that come with the room including the mini bar and free waters in the lobby which are great when it is hot. Great location to the old town area. Would definitely stay there again.

Location was good, hotel not so much. How does a hotel in Zurich not have air conditioning? So many other options, we were so disappointed with the room. The breakfast was just ok. This was our last night (eleventh) in Switzerland, and this place just disappointed on all levels.

Would give 5 but needs air conditioning as noisy with windows open due to location. Revellers passing til early ours. I would return in cooler weather. Lovely helpful staff. Free water bottles. Good breakfast.

I arrived in Zurich from Vancouver, Canada at 6:00pm. I wanted a comfortable stay for 1 night to get over my jet lag. The rooms were a great size, the bed is very comfortable... VERY. The breakfast was delicious. The location is very central, 5 Minute walk from the train station. Staff is incredibly cordial and helpful. slight mix up with my room when I arrived but it was resolved quickly. I ordered an egg white omelette with veggies for breakfast and got fried eggs with veggies (but they were delicious so I didn't say anything :) ) elevator is very small so if you have a large bag it might be a tight squeeze. The stay was great and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone that needs a good rest and likes a location that's close to everything but not on a super busy road or intersection.

My friend and I enjoyed our stay. The hotel is nicely located in the old town. Many places are walkable and there is public transport near for things further away. Breakfast is nice. I was happy with the fresh honey comb and made to order eggs. I would certainly stay here again.

I loved my cosy single room with the balcony! The balcony was a lovely place to enjoy after a day of site seeing. Breakfast was an appreciated added value. Cooked to order omelettes and eggs were very good as was the selection of other breakfast foods. The only suggestion I have is that the coffee and tea be self serve. You may want to consider 2 servers if you continue serving the coffee and tea. My server was extremely busy and handling too many people for just 1 person. The location is perfect. I would absolutely stay here again.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Rolex and cash were taken from safe while I was away for dinner. Safe showed out of order and was propped open. The hotel claims ‘impossible' and ‘no signs of burglary'. Avoid at all costs!

By far, the single room was the smallest i have ever stayed in. But thats me. But the size did not matter here at all. Although small, the room had everything a single traveller would need. It was comfortable and cozy. And bang in the middle of Zurich, a 5 min walk from the main train station. The main shopping street was just a 5 min walk again. The staff seemed a bit off though, the lady at check in seemed very professional but not very welcoming. The gentleman at the evening shift was very pleasant though and very helpful. But, my biggest peeve was that I had asked for a wake up call and they called an hour after the requested time. That is never a good point, if you ask me. Still, all in all a lovely place and is well worth the price you pay.

A modern Hotel that's in a great location for accessing the centre of Zurich and the old town. The single rooms are small but mine was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Good desk space to work at and a really good bathroom and shower. Breakfast was unspectacular but more than adequate. I was lucky enough to get one of the two car-parking spaces. Ringing ahead to try and reserve one of these is recommended. I'd certainly return here if on business.

Modern clean hotel. Rooms, beds, bathroom, and space - all nice and well thought out. Location is only 10 min walk to main train station, 2 min. to tram stop and perfectly centered to walk literally everywhere including the charming Christmas markets. Reception was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was better than most on our trip. Would stay there again without hesitation.

At a recent stay for business I found this hotel to be in walking distrance of most everything I needed. The Christmas Market was down the street and many restaurants surrounded the property. My room was very comfortable with ample space and updated furnishings. The morning breakfast was full of options like fresh bread, cheeses, eggs, cereal and juice. I would stay there again if the opportunity arose.

My wife and I really like this hotel. We were very good assisted by the Chef reception PANAYOTIS BALTSIAKIS, we would like to thank you to provide us the best in Zurich. We really recommend this hotel. Everything is new in the room. The breakfast is very good. I intend to come back. The location is perfect, there are a lot of restaurants nearby and it is about 7 minutes walk from Main Train statin Zurich HB.

We stayed 1 night at Best Western Zuercherhof. It's centrally located and you can walk to most parts of the city without issues. The rooms were large and comfortable. The hotel restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was outstanding. LOCATION/FACILITIES: The location is excellent and located right in the middle of Zurich. Easy walking distance to attractions around the city. Although very small, I like how the hotel kept a traditional old-style elevator as it's pretty cool. ROOMS: The rooms are large, comfortable, and clean. We did hear some street noise/people during our stay but it wasn't too bad. Note that there is no air conditioning. STAFF: The staff were friendly and professional. No complaints. FOOD: We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant and the service, food, and variety are excellent. The breakfast is especially impressive with a large buffet selection and eggs to order.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The hotel is on a pretty quiet street and we had no trouble with noise. There is no air conditioning at the hotel but they did supply a large fan which at least circulated air. We had a room at the top floor of the hotel which also had a roof top patio which was wonderful. The rooms are a good size and clean. It's a short walk to all the attractions. Definitely a good pick.

Enjoyed my overnight stay here. About 10min walk from Zurich HB train station. Abour 20mins shuttle to airport ( cost 35 CHF for 2). As may have mentioned, no ac but it was cold anyway and they provide fans so that was okay, the free drinks at the fridge made up for the ac for me anyway. Bathroom fits two. Urban room is nice and spacious. Nice modern look. Views are nice, well my wife and I liked it anyway. Nice big windows, privacy curtain is nice and thick. Solid breakfast, eggs at request. Staff excellent. My only gripe is that there was no elevator or at least I did not see it.

So I'm rating this hotel high because the staff were very helpful and the room / bathroom was well appointed, BUT they don't have A/C, which is fine if one is in a mountain town, but having the windows open in a metropolitan city with folks walking around / making noise at all hours is just obnoxious.

The Standard Room for our 2 night stay was absolutely fine - clean and functional, minimal external noise at night. Friendly staff too. We arrived early, no charge for storing our bags. Breakfasts were excellent in a room full of character.

I stayed here two nights and was impressed on all counts. Excellent value in the Zurich market. Good location in heart of old town and easy walk from train station. Good wifi signal. Many nice small touches such as free water and soda in the mini fridge. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

I travelled to Zürich at 20 Aug for 3 days and I stayed in this hotel. The hotel was very clean and had very good atmosfer. The hotel staff was polite and well-behaved. Also breakfast was high quality and delicious. I am really satisfied for choosing Best western plus hotel.

This hotel was ideal for me travelling alone en route from Switzerland to Germany. It is in the heart of the old town and a short stroll takes you to lots of eateries in a very vibrant part of town. My single room was admittedly small but it had everything I required, tea and coffee in the room, TV, a modernised bathroom with walk-in shower. It also had a balcony with chairs and a table. I was very impressed by the variety on offer at breakfast including honeycomb, prosecco, lots of yoghurts, many different cereals, cheeses, hams; I also liked the system where you write on a piece of paper your requests for cooked eggs, and ingredients for omelettes, everything is cooked to order and arrives piping hot, better than food sitting in containers for ages. Special thanks to Dora at reception who was so polite, charming and attentive.

I visited the Hotel on a one night business trip. Situated centrally, it's about a 10 minute walk from the main Zurich Station. The Hotel staff are warm and welcoming and only too pleased to help. The room, a single one, was clean and very small but contained everything I needed and the although more like a ships cabin, it suited me fine and I had a very comfortable stay. Now I know that this is not the Hotels fault and I wasn't going to mention it, but feel I have to particularly if you have children travelling with you. The Hotel, pleasant enough by Day is in a very busy centre at night for 'sex workers' and it's almost impossible to reach the hotel after 9pm without being frequently accosted. The breakfast Is not the most impressive and the feel of the Hotel loses its appeal with the welcome soon disappearing once you are there. I won't be staying at the Hotel again but it's by no means the worst Hotel I have stayed in.

Located in old town Modern rooms with ultra modern amenities. Very well maintained place. Rooms with large windows, provided us fans on request as it was summer. Complimentary drinks in room fridge. And drinking water bottles, sparkling and still at the reception fridge. Lots of convenient breakfast options as early bf on request a day prior, bf on go, etc if you have an early flight. Very close to the bustling city centre and a tram / bus can take you quite close to the boat station. Indian restaurant kormasutra and many Italian restaurants closeby. Good staff.

Very clean hotel with decent sized rooms, nice bath towels, fridge, and coffee maker. Excellent service at the reception desk. Hotel is near a small grocery store and the historic district. Main attractions are a short walk from the hotel. Parking is available for a fee behind the hotel. Unfortunately, there are only about 6 spots, so getting there early is worthwhile. Breakfast, served in the hotel restaurant was adequate and guests could order an omelette. The hotel offers complimentary water in the reception area. There is no AC, so we asked for a fan which helped to some degree but the temperatures were in the high 80s while we were there and a fan cannot really help a hot, stuffy room. The shower was quite small and there was no fan in the bathroom. I would stay at this hotel when it is cooler or if you are not bothered by heat and humidity. If the hotel had AC, I would probably rate this a 4 rather than 3.

This hotel is located very close to the Zurich central station, Limmatquai and a whole bunch of nice restaurants. Its location would have been ideal except for the noise from the street below. That noise could have been minimized by closing the room-windows, except you can't do that because the room gets hot as there is no AC and the puny table-fan that they provide instead is not at all sufficient. This and the so-so breakfast make me rate this hotel low. Otherwise the staff is very helpful and courteous. The main attractions in Zurich are a short walk away from this hotel. There is also plenty of choice available nearby for eating out. But for the noise, the heat and the breakfast, this would have been a nice hotel. What a pity.

This is a good boutique kind of hotel. Very conveniently located in Old Town Zurich. The train station, food, shopping, tours are all walking distance. Front desk was also very helpful and they gave us good suggestions. We went with our son who was 11 months and they were very helpful with heating or preparing his food, etc.

This is the best location - close to the train station and everything else. OK - there is no AC, but many hotels in Europe do not have AC - if this is an issue go somewhere else. The hotel offers a fan and I have been in very expensive hotels in Europe that didn't even do that. We were there during the heat wave too - so we went swimming in the lake! The staff was so helpful on the places to go and gave us extra large towels to use. They offer the best breakfast I have had included in a room. You can order omelettes and there is a variety of other options available. Also, we were offered an express breakfast on the day we had to leave early to catch a flight home. The hotel offers complimentary drinks in the mini bar! And the rooms are quite nice - sleek and chic.

My wife checked into the Best Western Plus Hotel Zuercherhof on July 9. The room was without air conditioning and stifling hot. It would have been impossible to sleep. So we told the clerk that we could not stay in the room and would need to find other lodgings. But she insisted on charging us for the room. This, I believe, was unreasonable and not the practice of a quality hotel. I would caution anyone from booking this hotel.

It is so unusual to see the hotel has no Air Conditioner in the room although the fan was provided but it was not helpful at all just blow the hot air in the room. The windows can be opened but the winter curtains block the fresh air from outside. The toilet is so small and no shampoo but conditioner. At night if you open the windows, it is quite noisy outside. Don't recommend for a couple or honeymoon because there are twins beds instead of one big bed. Breakfast is simple but nice and the hotel is in the good location. Not recommended in this weather for sure.

Excellent Everything! Easy walk to/from train station and attractions. Room was very comfortable and quaint. Breakfast was awesome...although you had to specifically request eggs (which is common in Europe). The coffee was so good we looked into buying the same type of machine ourselves.

This small hotel has v. small rooms and bathrooms, clean, very good reception staff, but . no air conditioning. Very noisy if windows are open....overlooks street. Woken at 7 am every morning by bells pealing nearby. . A plus is that it's close to the Rail Stn. Within walking distance - a little uphill. . Lady serving breakfast is very unfriendly, brusque & unhelpful. We were 3 ladies and not told/offered eggs etc until 3rd day. . As well run as any small hotel overall, but lack of air con in summer with heavy duvet very uncomfortable. .

Nice room but did not want to come back to a stuffy room with no aircon on a business trip on a super hot day in july! There is a small fan and window doors open but that's not going to cut it. Paid for single but bed is a double. Bathroom looks new.

My first destination for visit Switzerland was Zurich and the first hotel I stayed was Best Western Plus Hotel. It was very close to Zurich bahnhoff (only five or seven minutes) and also to old city center. Breakfast was included and the coffee was delicious. My room that I stayed was very cute and had a lot of small details that made my stay more comfortable.The only negative thing that I can say is the room had no A/C but I think in Switzerland air conditioning is not routine especially for mid range hotels. There are fans instead.

Well v nice rooms. V nicely located approx 10 mins from the main shopping area . But it was 25 degrees and no A.C. in the hotel. Can you believe it ? V v bad policy apparently the staff can't do anything as he said the hotel does not have this facility.

I booked for 3 nights in this hotel, the only reason I checked out on the spot, due to there was no air conditioning provided, as it was 38 degree that day. I am just doubt with the air conditioning issue, it should be installed due to the summer is really hot in Zurich. The lift was so so so small, it can only fit one big man.

We stayed for 2 nights in June. Location - Convenient for the main train station, about 10 mins walk away, and for the Museum and river boat trips. Adjacent streets in the old town have numerous shops, bars & restaurants easily accessible. Room - Lovely size (a large double and small single bed) Very clean and modern. Good and large shower. Unfortunately no air conditioning so it got very warm. An efficient fan was provided but the room was still warm, necessitating opening windows and the consequent noise from the street. We had a 3rd floor room above the reception area. Rooms at the back may be quieter. Food - We didn't eat in the restaurant, hotel guests benefit from a 20% discount on food prices, useful in such an expensive city! Breakfast was OK but not exciting. Free bottled water offered at all times in reception, great during the hot spell. Staff - Check in staff were lovely, helpful and cheery. The breakfast lady warmed up after the first day! A general note - there were half a dozen "ladies of the night" on the street corner adjacent to the hotel every evening we were there. As a couple we had no problem but my husband was approached when on his own. They were non threatening.

Well located hotel with friendly staff, the breakfasts were average, the ladies could be a little more friendlier though... No aircons in the rooms, so it's very very hot! The fans help to a certain extent, they should consider installing aircons. Decent sized rooms and bathrooms. Walking distance to train station and the shopping area.

Our room (408) was small but perfect for 3 nights. Small bathroom, modern, spotlessly clean, good water pressure. We did have some noisy revellers outside below us unfortunately. The breakfasts were very good with fruit, cheeses, cold meat and a choice of egg including omelettes with any filling.

Great location, very comfortable rooms and wonderful staff! Highly recommended stay! The restaurant next door was excellent for dinner as well and comes with a 20% discount when you start at the hotel.

If looking for an affordable hotel that is clean and comfortable this is it. Best Western Plus is a standard of hotel service. We a Ways look for hotels that include breakfast and this one delivered. This was not your standard pastries and coffee. They would also cook eggs a few ways, and you could get bacon and ham with it. Pastries, bread, yoghurts toppings and fruits were also available. This was served at the attached restaurant, so no need to go outside if raining.

Hotel in the city center, walking distance from the main train station. Reasonably priced, especially in a very expensive city like Zurich, clean, excellent wi-fi. Room is small but nice and tidy, comfortable bed and a very small toilet. All pretty cramped but job done i would say.

I was at this hotel for 2 nights. The staff are very pleasant, courteous and helpful. The rooms are small but very efficient and well appointed with everything one needs for a basic stay. The location is very central in the old town and easy to walk around. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Best Western is within Old Town and 5-7 minutes walk from Zurich Main Station which is convenient If you don't have big and heavy luggage. But taxi is outside the Zurich station is available to bring you at the hotel. Staff at the reception was friendly and cheerful. He also helped us with our luggage. Breakfast at the restaurant was good. But the most exciting part of staying at this hotel was trying the raclette at their restaurant!(make sure to make a reservations ahead of time). Our room was clean and cozy. Bed was comfortable and we slept well. There are many nice restaurants and a convenience store nearby. We had free wifi in our room. Location is ideal for solo or couple travelers. We will stay again in this hotel when in Zurich.

Very welcoming and friendly staff, the ambience near the River is wonderful. For traveller's business or leisure a very good recommendation. Herr John Rusterholz is warm and has all on their toes. A definite return visit.....Very clean and easily located.

This hotel is extremely well located and one straight back from the Oldtown (Altstadt) the restaurant is also very good and you get a discount if you're staying in the hotel. If you want somewhere that is comfortable and close to many of the places your likely to want to go this will take a lot to beat.

I stayed here in September 2016 on a job trip. The hotel is part of the old town, and after a nice walk up a lot of steps, you reach the ETH and the University (our job destination). It is situated close to the Railway station, and to the river. We enjoyed jogging along the river out to the lake shore in the morning, and also the nice breafast when we came back. What I really appreciated was the small balcony that I had in my room, and that the hotel had set in a bottle of wine and the best chocolate ever with a salutation form my husband - upon his request - because it was my birthday. Only minus was a couple of prostitutes on the street corner when we came back from the restaurants in the late evening.

From it outside, it doesnt look like much but once you open your bedroom door, you will have a smile on your face. Lovely comfortable bed and spacious room. As much as i wanted to sleep with the windows open, the church bells will drive you nuts so dont do that to yourself. Your first 6 drinks in your mini bar are free (includes water, soda and a beer) which definitely classifies as a perk. But remember to check your bar when you checkin as i only had 3 (sad face) Bear in mind, that the restaurant leads into the foyer and they love a fondue/raclette grill which means that the foyer smells a bit like off cheese throughout the evening but doesnt permeat into your bedroom so dont worry. Definitely worth the money and the location is great. Its only a 20 minute walk to the ferry terminal and 10 mins in either direction to the museums. Its also only 8 mins from the Central Station and the tram to the airport is just around the corner. There is a supermarket nearby called Coop (its on the bridge when you walk over from the Central Station), so its ideal to go buy some cheaper food as Zurich is extortionately expensive.

Stayed here one night before heading to Lucerne with my wife and friends- the staff was super cordial and attentive - but I was a little concerned because the lobby looked very pedestrian. Got up to our room and was shocked in a very pleasant way. Virtually everything was new - including the bathroom fixtures. If quarters in the bathroom were a little cramped it was offset by GREAT design work. Typical Swiss- a place for everything and everything in its place. Would stay here again in a heartbeat ??

We arrived into Zurich on a sleeper train around 8am, and wanted to drop luggage off prior to check-in. Front desk staff were very accommodating with allowing us to leave it with them so we could tour around Zurich for the day. On check-in, the desk agent advised us of the free breakfast starting at 7am, to which I replied that we would actually be leaving the hotel for a day-trip on the Bernina Express and would be out well before the breakfast started. He then offered and provided a bag lunch for my wife and I to take with us the next day. Very impressed with this! Room was on the 3rd floor, a corner room which was really spacious given our experiences thus far with hotel rooms in Europe. Free beverages in the minifridge, bed was comfortable, shower was great the next morning (bathroom was on the tight side, but still very functional.) and enough power outlets available (including one that stayed on permanently without the key in the master switch) to charge devices while you're out. We stayed in October, so did not need any air conditioning, which the hotel lacks, but made up for with fans in the room. Breakfast on the departure morning was very adequate, but the dining room it's served in is quite dark. Given it's not just for breakfast, one can understand that. If I'm ever back in Zurich, will definitely stay again.

Close to the main train station, old town Zurich, and river. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was very comfortable with a nice size bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Had dinner in the restaurant as we wanted authentic Swiss cuisine and it did not disappoint. It was busy on a Saturday night, and not all the diners were tourists; that's a good sign.

This Hotel was a great location, relatively close to lake A special shout out for the extremely warm and co-operative staff. Breakfast was limited but nice with a daily provision of apples at lobby and a minibar (completely free; included bottled water as well) All in all highly recommended The only thing we missed on was the fondue because the restaurant shut down at 10.

We stayed two nights in Zurich and this was an excellent choice. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. It was an easy walk to the train station, shopping, and restaurants. It was a wonderful jumping-off point for the rest of our vacation in Alsace.

I stayed here as a solo traveler while staying in Zurich for a week. My room was clean and comfortable, and a great deal for this city. If you are traveling alone, I recommend the single room. The room had all sorts of little things packed into it that I often don't find in fancier hotels- such as it had an outlet next to the bed for phone charging, plenty of counter space to set things on in the bathroom, fridge, teapot, shelf with an outlet next to the full length mirror, little balcony, storage corner for suitcase. The 6 included drinks in the minibar were a perk and the included breakfast was great and a good value since food is expensive in Switzerland. The breakfast staff was very nice and helpful and provided better service than most restaurants I went to in Switzerland. The front desk staff were very nice and the 1300 check in time was nice to be able to get in my room earlier than usual after the transatlantic flight. I found the location to be great- easy walk to the train station, bus station (where day tours met), many restaurants, and sights so it saved time and money from having to ride the streetcar many places. As a female traveling alone, I felt safe here. I know some of the other reviews mentioned the "ladies" working outside- while I saw a few outside, it was not bothersome at all and I've seen much worse in downtown areas in Paris or eastern Europe.

This newly renovated Best Western hotel was a pleasant surprise upon arrival after a long day of travel. Friendly staff, nice restaurant, right in the heart of old town district. No air conditioning, but just open the windows and feel the nice cool clean air of Zurich Switzerland. A short walk from the train station. My wife and I will definitely stay at this hotel again when we return to Zurich.

We stayed only one night, but arrived into Zurich very early in the morning. They were able to get us into our room at 11:30am. It's a very comfortable, clean room! Don't bother complaining about the temperature. If it's warm out it will be a little warm in your room as none of these (or very few) hotels will have air conditioning, however, we had 2 fantastic stainless steel fans that kept us very comfortable in very unseasonably warm weather. The location is perfect!! We could walk and see all the sights and still be able to "stop into" our room to change clothes, drop off bags, etc. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel!

Very kind and gentle staff at the front desk. Very fast Wifi. It doesn't have cooler (Air conditioner to get cooler). Usually it's very mild in Zurich but it's a little hard to sleep well because of hot temperature around 30 C when I was there. They prepare the fan for cooling though.

We spent 2 nights here recently. This hotel is clean and safe and very comfortable. Bed and pillows were clean and appeared to be new! The staff, particularly EVERYONE at the front desk are friendly, knowledgeable; warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was average but good. Across from our room was a tall building that sold books on many floors. It was closed at night. Between the hotel and that building is a pedestrian walkway that goes down to a much louder street and we could hear that till bout 2 am, unfortunately. This of course is not the hotels fault but tourists should know about it. They should also know that on that street and on the front corner across from the hotel on 3 sides are prostitutes ALL NIGHT LONG! They and their 'customers' can be loud and raucous and sometimes it seems the women were plying their trade directly behind the hotel, where there is a little patio and garage belonging to the next property. UGH! Again, this is not the Best Western's fault but if I was travelling with my kids, I would NOT want to suddenly discover this! (I wish more people had noted this on Trip Advisor in the past so we would not have been caught off guard.) Sunday morning brought something wonderful! The sounds of the church bell from 1 block away. It rang and rang and rang and echoed out and down the hill to and across the river Limmett. Oh, it was so very nice! And at the same time, it other churches in Zurich began ringing their bells as well. Loud but so melodic and so very lovely. I supposed though that some tourists might not like to wake up to that so again, I am just saying it here to let other people know. Let me say again that this was a really great hotel. Outside influences (as mentioned above) that are out of the hotel's control make choosing it something I would hesitate about should I return to Zurich.

This hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of the train station, Limmat River, loads of restaurants and shops, and Lake Zurich. We were very happy with the location. The room was also very clean with modern furnishings. We also found the staff to be very friendly and kind. However, we found our stay absolutely unbearable due to the lack of air conditioning/any type of air ventilation in the building. We stayed in late-August and the temperature outside was approx 31-33 degrees C (which is about 90F). There is no ventilation system in the building at all, so our room was stifling hot! The windows opened up a few inches, but there was absolutely no breeze so the room was actually warmer than being outside. It was beyond uncomfortable. The hotel did provide a small desk fan, but that only blew the hot air around. I actually purchased some Swiss chocolate and had it in the room for a few hours while we were out -- and when we returned all of the chocolate had completely melted just from being in the heat of the room!! We could not sleep in this heat, so after the second night we actually had to check out and booked a new hotel with air conditioning. The hotel should seriously consider installing at least some ceiling fans in the rooms/hallways which might help circulate the air a bit. Paying over $270/night to sleep in a room that is 30C is not reasonable. If our stay was in the autumn or spring we would have been very happy with everything, but given the summer heat I would never recommend staying here during the summer unfortunately.

This hotel was in a great location with walking distance to main city only suggestion would be don't go walking at night with the family as its located in the res light district. The room itself was modern and spacious with a nice bathroom. Only downfall was the parking was expensive and at a external parking garage.

This booking was a last minute change from our previous place closer to the airport where prices are lower. This hotel was the cheapest one we could find and we feel so lucky to have chosen it. Our room like the rest of the hotel was spotless, bed comfortable, and staff very friendly and helpful. Like everyone else says the room was small but perfectly fine for 2 for 2 nights. The additional bonuses were 1. Being so close to everything we wanted to see and do in Zurich 2. The nice breakfast offerings which was included in the price 3. The free mini bar with beer, Coke products and mineral water in the fridge in the room ( you only pay if you want more than what was initially provided) 4. Bottled waters on ice in the lobby. If my travels bring me back to Zurich I would most definitely stay here again.

Came for ironman Switzerland. Stayed in a south facing Solo room for the first few days weather outside was hot the room was hotter! It needs air con as the fridge in the room pumps out heat. Room was small but had lots of clever storage. TV on Wall turns into the room. Room also has a safe and free WiFi. Drinks in fridge are free you only pay if you want the fridge re stocked. Staff are nice and hotel is very clean. The hotel is in a good location not far from the main station or main shopping areas (10 mins walk). I would stay here again.

This hotel has a very handy location to the train station and for walking through the city. Getting to and from the airport via the train with luggage was very easy and took maybe 40 minutes including the train ride and the walking, which is mostly flat with only a small incline at the end of the hotel's street. It's located in Old Town, which has lots of pedestrian-only streets, so exiting the hotel to explore on foot was ideal. We also did two walking loops further afield, and this hotel worked perfectly on those occasions, too. The rooms are nice - modern, tidy, big windows that open, desk fan, refrigerator, and a safe. The bathroom is really nice and seemed newly done - glass-enclosed shower, modern tiling, new sink and fixtures, and reasonably spacious. Breakfast was simple, but nice and in a very pleasant environment. They had bircher (a muesli concoction originating in the city - yum! - a must try) and a lot of local cheeses + hard-boiled eggs, breads, and other cereals. Tasty and filling enough to last the morning. Coffee was from a self-service machine that uses pods, which was actually quite good. One thing I wish I had realized is that the hotel is in what we heard is the legal red light district of Zurich. I read reviews of the hotel, but didn't catch this information prior to arrival. So, when the ladies of the evening appeared on the corners opposite the hotel on our first night, it was a surprise. There are a number of lively bars up the street, so there is a steady supply of potential customers and bar noise long into the evening. We had no problem with anyone during our stay and I would still have booked this hotel if I knew in advance and would book again in the future if opportunity arises to visit the city again.

Location is very convenient to train and old city. Staff was fabulous! Breakfast was very good with nice selection of local tradition and American standards. Only downside was third-person bed(roll out) was not very comfortable. But that was for my son, so he had to deal with it. Wife and I were just fine. Happened to hit Saturday of the Zuri Fascht, a festival held every 3 years. What a FANTASTIC treat!! Mark your calendar for the first weekend of July 2019!

Thoroughly enjoyed this hotel! On a 17 day trip in Europe, our previous location was an Airbnb, in Paris, it was ok, but really couldn't wait to get out of that place. Arrived in Zurich and checked into our room and I couldn't have been happier! Completed renovated, modern, with an excellent shower! The rooms are small (there were 3 of us) the hotel managed to created lots of space with the modern furnishings and cabinetry. We never felt cramped. Best of all, the bed was very comfortable, all amenities were available, great shower, breakfast in the morning, super friendly staff, everything was clean and fresh. I didn't want to leave!

This hotel was located in a convenient location. We had an easy walk from the train station and, once settled, had a great starting point to explore the old town. The staff at this hotel went out of their way to provide excellent service. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and included different types of cheese, breads and eggs. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay at this property again!

It was very hard to locate the hotel. I was there with my family for 1 night and we had book 2 rooms, but were given different type of rooms. One room was really small. Also, no fans and A.C in the rooms. It was too hot and when we asked for table fans, they said that they are out of stock. During the billing they gave us some discount but that doesnt justify the mistake and inconvenience. The breakfast was okayish. Nothing for Vegetarians but they gave us hot milk on demand.

the hotel is in a great position to explore the city and surrounding area , a few minutes walk from the train station and from the lake , the staff were excellent very helpful helping us get around the city. the room was very clean and comfortable , a great place to stay we will be returning

Apart from being next to the city centre, there's nothing much i can say about it. Wifi very limited, room pretty small, and ow my God, the smell! It seems that they have a sewerage problem, cause it literally stinks in the bathroom. On top of that, I made the stupid mistake of letting the shower and bathroom doors open in the morning, before heading out, so imagine my horror, when entering the room a few hours later...

This hotel has all of the things a visitor to Zurich could want. The location, in the Niederdorf neighborhood, has a big selection of restaurants and pubs within a short and easy walk. The main train station is easily accessible, less than a 10 minutes walk. Also within a short walk is the famous Bahnhofstrasse, excellent for window shopping and strolling, eventually leading to Lake Zurich. We would give the location a 5+. Our room was impeccably clean and well tended. The room had a desk, large flat screen TV and very comfortable bed and chair. Internet service was good. The shower is a bit small by American standards, but not a problem at all. Breakfast, served from 7:00 until 10:00, included several choices. Eggs are made to order. Fresh fruit, breads and cereals, yogurts, cold cuts and cheeses are abundant and served in a very pleasing atmosphere. We could not have asked for a nicer staff. No matter who we spoke to, the attitude was "how can we help?" English is spoken throughout. We could not have been more pleased with the hotel and the location. If you plan to visit other cities, we highly suggest a Swiss Pass which allows unlimited and extensive train, bus, boat and tram passes and museum entrances. We chose an 8 day consecutive pass and traveled to five different cities and enjoyed three lake cruises. Awesome not to have to stop and buy tickets each time we boarded the different types of transportation. Zurich is a very expensive city, but the hotel was well priced and the Swiss pass allowed us to see the most at a relatively reasonable price. Hotel Zuercherhof is the place to stay for business or for pleasure.

The hotel is located just at the center very near to the train station. The room is a bit small considering the high price but I guess thats not too bad for zurich standard. The breakfast in included and have standard choices. Wifi is extremely good and high speed wgich is very rare to find in a hotel.

The location of the property is excellent. It is situated in the historical center, just 5 minutes away from the main train station. The area is very nice. close to the hotel there are plenty of restaurants and bars. The staff was friendly. The room was not extremely big, but it was ok for a short stay. The bed was comfordable. The breakfast was interesting, but nothing special. I also found very cute the small frog in the bathroom. The room was very clean. The price was quite high for the facilities offered (for example in Greece you may stay with this amount of money in a far better hotel) but in comparison to the rest of the hotels of Zurich the price was quite normal. There was a weird smell at the entrance of the hotel

Excellent location if you want to experience Old Town. Close to many pubs and restaurants. Staff is very helpful. The facility is clean and quiet. The area is very quaint and this location is within a 15 minute walk to almost everything you would want to see downtown.

The hotel is only a few blocks from both the main train station and the Rhine, so it is fairly low-stress to arrive. Take the train from the airport (the ride is about 10 minutes and you can keep your bags with you) and just step off the train into the main square. Cross the street, go over the bridge, walk up the hill a few blocks and you are at the hotel. There is a good hamburger place (The Holy Cow) literally across the street, if you arrive late, cold and tired. The burgers are $10 each, but that is actually about normal for Zurich. (Food is VERY expensive here!!) The Zurich Public Library is one block down from the hotel, and the entire neighborhood is clean, pretty and perfect for walking. The hotel has a nice breakfast with eggs to order, different juices, yogurt, various kinds of toast and plenty of hot tea. Our room was small, but cozy and comfortable. The wifi is strong and free. Zurich is an expensive city and this hotel is expensive, too - but it is convenient, modern, spotlessly clean and quiet. We loved our stay and would come back again.

Very close to the river, in the city center, good position to visit the city by walk and five minutes walking from the main train station. Excellent breakfast, sweet and salt, staff very friendly. I even took a beer from minibar and it was for free Good Wi-Fi Super!!

The Best Western Plus Hotel Zuercherhof in Zurich made this vacation exceptional. The room was large and very modern and comfortable. The bathroom was small but very modern with everything was in perfect condition. The breakfast array was exceptional and delicious. This is a perfect hotel in a perfect location in Zurich. The staff were great. We couldn't be more pleased.

I had spent two nights at this relatively inexpensive hotel (for Zurich and London anyway) during the last weekend of February. The hotel is extremely close to both the main bus and railway station - less than a 10 minute walk away. You will find a number of restaurants, shops and bars in close proximity to it. The female receptionist who I had encountered on both Saturday and Sunday was incredibly friendly and very helpful in directing me to places of interest and also in assisting me with my luggage prior to my relatively early morning check out. The room itself was compact and was adequate for my needs. If you are a slightly larger or a taller person then it would be preferable if you choose a double room rather than the single room that I was in (Room 100). The room had Ikea type furniture, a sufficiently large enough safe to put my electrical equipment in and a rather powerful shower. The night before I arrived in Zurich I had suffered a minor problem with my back and was in constant pain but after using the shower a free times my back problem significantly improved. The Wi-Fi was quick enough for my needs and the English speaking channels on the television was not only restricted to BBC World news and one or two of the American News channels. I only ate in the restaurant for breakfast. The food on offer was adequate - there were cold meats, boiled eggs, cheeses, bread, croissant, rolls, cereals, fruit, yoghurt etc NB: (1) The whiff of fondue was omnipresent when I first arrived at the hotel just before 20:30 on Friday; (2) The toilets in the restaurant are incredibly clean and for once, I have found toilets that have paper towels next to the door so that one can use them to open the door with; (3) I am a Londoner ( and so I am use to paying high prices) but Zurich is frighteningly expensive; and (4) I would recommend that you take public transportation to and from the airport (6.60 CHF). It is so easy and so economical to get to and from the hotel this way.

Spent one weekend in Zurich and found this hotel very comfortable, clean and very close to all amenities. Very good service and staff professional and kind. To highlight also the restaurant for a good fondue and swiss cuisine. Will definitely come back on my next trips to Zurich.

I was there for a business travel, for two nights. I'd say that the hotel is, overall, a bargain, taking into account the prices in Zurich. My room was a single, very small, but also rather comfortable, with a simple but functional style, and very very clean. The breakfast is not overwhelming, but anyway decent. I got a bonus of 5 complimentary drink in my room minibar. The position is quite convenient, being a 5-10 min walk from the central station, and basically in the nice commercial city centre.

Stayed at the hotel for three nights W/C 14th Dec. Overall view of the hotel is that it is very modern and although I only used the restaurant for breakfast it was always full and seemed very popular. The hotel is very central to the old town, it's only a ten minute, easy walk from the station and is easy to find. The room I got was a front facing corner room which was very very spacious wth nice decor and an excellent bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. One minor plus point, the room has a euro/British socket outlet, ideal for charging phones etc, the Swiss have their own type of socket outlets. The breakfast buffet was typically European and I suspect they would cook omelettes or eggs to order. Overall very satisfied, not the cheapes of stays but I did book at the last minute and it was competitively priced with others that were available.

Pleasant staff, clean comfortable modern rooms, great location, good breakfast, well maintained, no problems with access or arriving a little early for room. The hotel is really in the centre of the city so it was very easy to walk everywhere (or take the tram) within minutes. Food was available if required but there are many great places to eat within 2 or 3 minutes walk. Recommended.

This is a hotel I would be happy to return to. The staff were helpful at the reception and in the restaurant; at breakfast I found them efficient and quietly attentive occasionally making a suggestion where a choice may have escaped my notice (they guessed correctly in my case). The hotel is well situated for a tourist with the Opera House within walking distance as well as many shops. The main train station is also close by. The room safe was too small for my laptop so that had to stay on the desk (although i wasn't concerned about security at any point). The room was very comfortable and clean

Nice hotel with clean rooms and great shower rooms. Very close to the old town, on a road without much traffic and only a couple of minutes from the main train station. The issues for me were a hot room with no air-con, there was a fan. I did try leaving the window open but had to close it again in the early hours due to the non-stop chattering of the prostitutes on the street only a few metres away. Also not a good place if you don't like the smell of cooked cheese. Their restaurant has a very good reputation for fondue and raclette but these create a distinctive aroma. has

Well situated , close to the central station and most of the tourist attractions.Rooms small but clean, well modernised and well equipped. Good but expensive parking available nearby. Would recommend this hotel for both business and leisure visitors.

Our small travel group decided that it was time that we looked beyond Spain, France, Poland and similar countries for short break holidays and head towards Switzerland, hence our recent trip to Zurich. We flew by Easyjet from Gatwick to Zurich Airport, a journey of about one hour fifteen minutes. I had made preliminary enquiries of the hotel to see how you got from the airport to the hotel. There are various methods, one of which is a private taxi organised by the hotel(as a cost).You can take the tram (which takes about 40 minutes) or you can use a taxi or get on the train. We opted for the train. It was all quite straight forward really. As we came out of the airport area, the signs easily led us to the train station where you can buy one way tickets. The fare from the airport to Zurich Main Station is 6.50CHF, whereas a taxi for four would have been somewhere in the region of 60CHF. Finding the right train was equally easy and the journey took some 15 minutes or so, with just three stops, Zurich Main Station being the end of the journey. We came into one of the platforms which are located downstairs under the main station concourse, so you need to get your bearings for the hotel, which is within walking distance. You need to come up onto the ground floor area and head towards the bridge crossing the river Limmat. It is a main trolley bus and tram terminal (ironically where the tram stops from the airport). As you cross over the bridge, if you look up above the sky line of the buildings to your right you will see a very tall pointed spire. That is where the hotel is located. After crossing the bridge you need to turn right along the river's edge and walk for about 300 yards after which you take a left down any of the side roads leading towards the spire.(There is a footbridge going over the river at the point where to turn left inwards towards the spire).This whole area is where the entertainment is to be found and numerous pubs, nightclubs and hotels. Zahringertstrasse where the hotel is situated is the second road in from the quayside road. The overall appearance from the street of the hotel is one of smartness and typical of a Best Western Hotel. The reception area is bright and clean and the member of staff who welcomed us was very friendly and obliging. He actually called us by name before we had even introduced ourselves! Having completed the booking in process which was seamless we went to our rooms on the third floor using the lift. There are stairs leading up to all floors from the main entrance area. Our room was excellent. It was bright, nicely decorated and very clean and a good size. The bed with all its white lined looked very inviting!There was a good sized shower and bathroom.There are tea making facilities in the room and a small bar with complimentary drinks. There is also a safe to keep your valuables secure.The window looked out onto the street below which we had walked along. During our stay, the reception personnel were most helpful and knowledgeable about where to go for restaurants, sightseeing and a host of other requests. The breakfast room is on the ground floor and was a delight to visit. Breakfast was included in our booking. There was a wide selection of foods and cooked breakfast was cooked individually at our request. Most filling! On the last evening, after having spent the whole day up in the mountains(which will be reviewed separately) we decided to eat in, in the restaurant. What a delight! The menu was fulsome with all kinds of dishes. We opted for a "hot stone meal" which is where you cook your own meats on a hot stone on the table in front of you. We had great fun doing that and the evening simply flew by.The staff who served us that evening were most delightful and fully engaged with us throughout the whole evening. There were several other diners and the atmosphere was very "buzzy". All too soon it was time to leave and make our way back to the airport. The booking out was seamless and we walked back to the station and caught a train to the airport. From leaving the hotel and making our way to the station and airport took some 40 minutes. We took the opportunity the evening before of buying our rail tickets from the Office of Tourism located on the concourse. It saved queuing up on the morning of our departure and meant we could go straight to the platform from where our train left . One small point about the hotel which I felt makes this experience "very good", rather than "excellent" is the fact there is no air conditioning in the rooms. The rooms were very warm and there was a need to open the windows to get some air. That allowed in some of the street noise. Not enough to mar the visit by any means, but it is a shame that when the hotel was fitted out(which seemed to me not that long along) they didn't go that extra mile with the air conditioning. Having said all of that, it would not put me off coming back when we return to Zurich (which we intend to do!). The hotel is in the right position for all you want to do whilst in Zurich.

Visited the city for business for a couple of nights. The hotel is well located and you can walk to more or less everywhere. The train stops are just a couple of blocks away so you can hope on and off with a day pass to more or less anywhere. The hotel is newly renovated and is very clean, quiet and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The room was hot very large but had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, good room temperature and super quiet. Great big screen tv, with fast free wifi internet. The restaurant is very nice and also renovated. The breakfast offerings at first look poor but everything is there. The variety might not be huge but you got a bit of everything. The restaurant is also very good for dinner. I would certainly recommend it and stay again in my next travel.

Hotel is very well situated in Altstadt and very close to main train station Furnishings are modern and comfortable. I had a serious problem with foul smells coming up from the shower drain. This made the bathroom virtually unusable. I complained to the front desk staff who were very helpful and concerned but unable to rectify the situation. I indicated that I thought it was a plumbing problem and not a dirty drain problem but they seemed quite convinced that housekeeping would rectify the situation the new day with a good cleaning. It reoccurred the next day. Review based on a two night stay

Stayed in a 3 person room and was very comfortable. Rooms were nice, very modern and large enough. Location is great - right in the heart of Zurich, within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the train station.

The hotel is in a fine location , in the old town , near the station. The room was clear and very cosy ,with modern furniture and everything in order . The breakfast was poor and the front desk and the communal spaces spoil the whole image of the hotel.

We stayed for a couple of nights in August. The hotel is clean, the service was great, I loved the ambience, the rooms were comfortable and the food was great. We were all more than satisfied! We loved that we were in the middle of downtown Zürich, right in the hub of the city.

Hotel is in a great spot near the train station and plenty of things to do and good food and shopping close. It was a little loud with the partying going on in the area and like many European hotels it is not air conditioned so you must leave the windows open. Hottest day in the history of Switzerland taht night. I would certinaly stay there again but Zurich is a lot like New Your so be prepared for a more city experience than the hills of the country. Nice place and a good staff

The rooms are very comfortable, clean and organized well. The bathroom is small, but very functional with a great shower. Located in the older part of town. Lots of restaurants within a short walk. Close to river with a great path. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was included in our rate and was quite satisfying. Price was great. Would stay again, but not in the warmer summer months.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights toward the end of our Switzerland trip. Clean hotel, close to the Bahnhof and the cobble-stoned streets of Zurich (think restaurants, people, history, shopping...) walking distance to Lake Zurich, which is incredible. Restaurant attached to the hotel is known for fondue and has outdoor seating. The hotel staff was also good enough to let us leave a large suitcase with them toward the start or our trip (my husband was in country on business before I arrived) with no extra charge. Rooms are tiny--the shower looks like something that should be in a dollhouse. Still, they're making the most of limited room. The street, though, is a relatively busy one. You'll hear traffic early in the morning. We also realized that it was a working corner--there were hookers right outside of our window for both nights. That might be something to expect in a large city like Zurich, but it caught me a little off guard. We also realized that someone from the hotel was in our room after the room had been cleaned. We had two keys, one of which we left behind (you have to leave a key near the door for the power to work in the room) so that we could keep the fan running and cool off the room. Someone came into the room and reversed the key so that the power would shut down. Needless to say, we weren't happy. Linens are clean, but a bit scratchy. Know that most European hotels, including this one, do not have AC. During the summer, it can get hot at night. Daytime front desk staff was very helpful; nighttime staff seemed like they were just keeping the place afloat. When we asked a question, the standard answer was, "Come back tomorrow morning at 8." Overall, decent (somewhere between 2 and 3 stars). But I think I may have stayed elsewhere in hindsight.
