Nancy Best Western Crystal Spa, How do I love you, let me count the ways. Sorry (not sorry) but there is not enough numbers in existence to list all the many wonderful features and deliveries of services. But for this review, I promise to all travelers that I am a seasoned world adventurer who stays in hotels half the year, and Nancy Best Western Crystal Spa hosted by the Gatinois Family is the front runner for the following reasons: 1. Exceptional staff. Each team member goes out of their way to make guests feel welcomed and well attended. 2. Close distance to Gare Nancy train and bus stations. A gout minute flat walk on reasonable paved sidewalks good for wheeling luggage, wheelchairs and strollers. Even in snowing weather. 3. Gorgeous furnishings that are fresh and modern. Many rooms with large bath tubs and separate toilet add to privacy when sharing room. 4. Fancy bar and cafe with outdoor seating as an option for smokers or those wishing to chat on phone while enjoying a beverage. 5. The Spa! An added bonus of which fluffy robes and slippers are offered to swim, sauna, steam, relax in chaise lounge. Plus one may order spa treatments for massages and facials at affordable prices. 6. For foodies, fans of Art Nouveau architecture, cinema, exciting walks in safe city at all hours of the day and night, this location is ideal. The UGC cinema is around the corner and many films have VOSTF (usually English) options. 7. Shopping is excellent with several nearby malls, boutiques, pedestrian zoned stores. A perfect place especially at Christmas season during the Christmas Market by the grand cathedral square. 8. Marina at front desk. 9. Ennes at front desk. 10. Camille at front desk. Bravo! I will be back again for certain in the near future, thank you for your hospitality. Your fan, Louise
Dear Louise, Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful review. It truly means a great deal to all of us to read such heartfelt words, especially coming from a seasoned world traveller like yourself. We are delighted that you enjoyed so many aspects of your stay — from our location and spa facilities to the comfort of our rooms, the bar and café, and the atmosphere of our beautiful city. Your appreciation of our team members is especially meaningful; Marina, Ennes, and Camille will be very touched to be mentioned personally. Your detailed description and enthusiasm are the best reward for our daily efforts, and we are genuinely grateful for your trust and loyalty. Knowing that you consider us your “favorite hotel in the world” is both humbling and deeply motivating for the entire team. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future for another memorable stay in Nancy. Warmest regards, The Best Western Plus Crystal, Nancy Spa Team
After several stays at the Best Western Plus Crystal in Nancy, my recent visit was extremely disappointing and marks the end of my patronage. Upon arrival, there was nobody to greet us—the only receptionist was busy on the phone and ignored our presence. The check-in process, despite booking online, was lengthy and frustrating, requiring me to complete the same information on a tiny, unresponsive touchscreen set to a qwerty keyboard. The process felt unnecessarily intrusive and the staff was notably unfriendly throughout. We had booked breakfast, but my wife became ill and couldn't join me. When checking out, I politely asked if her breakfast could be refunded. My request was dismissed without apology or any commercial gesture—the same staff member was just as unhelpful as the previous day. Although the rooms themselves are still nice, service quality has drastically declined over the years. Staff have become inattentive and cold, and guest experience is clearly no longer a priority. Sadly, for loyal guests, there is simply no incentive to return.
Thank you, Kubernan, for taking the time to share your feedback after your recent stay at our hotel. We are sincerely sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. Your loyalty and feedback are invaluable, and we deeply regret having disappointed you, especially since you had stayed with us before. We have taken note of your feedback regarding your arrival. Occasionally, our team may be temporarily busy during peak periods or while taking a phone call, which can cause a slight wait. We apologize for this inconvenience. However, after checking in, we can confirm that our receptionist, Enes, was indeed on duty when you arrived and that you waited 47 seconds while he finished his phone call before attending to you. The self-service check-in kiosk (standard 11" iPad) is designed to verify the accuracy of information, accept the Terms and Conditions and House Rules, and thus ensure the safety of our guests, but we understand that it may seem tedious. This is why Enes offered to help you switch the keyboard to QWERTY and fill in some information for you. It seems you declined this offer. In total, check-in took approximately 5 minutes and 30 seconds, including pre-authorization and key encoding. Regarding the questions asked, the only required answers were your first and last name, phone number, nationality, and purpose of stay (leisure or business). This information is used, among other things, to collect statistics for INSEE (the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies). Regarding the breakfast your wife did not eat, we are sorry for your disappointment but would like to clarify the situation. Unused breakfasts are automatically refunded when paid for at the hotel at the standard rate (€19.50 per person in 2025). However, what you failed to mention is that you had opted for a package deal that included breakfast. You also made your reservation and payment through Hotels.com. Therefore, we cannot issue a refund under these circumstances, as we were paid by this website a net amount via virtual card, after deducting the intermediary commission. The only thing you paid directly was the tourist tax of €2.20 per person. We therefore suggest you request a goodwill gesture directly from Hotels.com, as they are the ones who invoiced you. However, we cannot refund unused services included in a package: for example, no goodwill gesture can be made if a guest does not use their complimentary access to the spa or fitness center. The same applies to breakfast when it is included in a package rate. We are particularly sorry to read about your experience with our staff, which contrasts sharply with the attention we usually give our guests, as evidenced by our overall ratings. Your feedback has raised concerns, and we have already asked our team to strengthen their attentiveness and commitment to our guests, which are essential to our business. Despite these points, we thank you for highlighting the comfort and tasteful décor of our rooms, which are very important to the entire team at our hotel in downtown Nancy. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back on a future visit and remain available to discuss any special requests or suggestions you may have. Finally, please note that the best rates and most flexible cancellation policies are always guaranteed when you book directly through our official website or by phone. Thank you, Laurent, for your past loyalty and your feedback, which helps us to continuously improve. The entire team at the Best Western Plus Crystal, Hotel, Bar & Spa
Great location near the train station. Also just a few minutes' walk from Place Stanislas. I have received an upgrade and my room had a very nice design and colour scheme. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The breakfast was great! Excellent value for money.
🌟 Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 🌟 Dear Seaside61237490092, We are truly delighted by your feedback and thrilled that you enjoyed the unique design and colourful atmosphere of our hotel. It's a pleasure to know your upgrade brought an extra touch to your stay—our team always strives to surprise and please our guests whenever possible! Our central location between Nancy train station and the iconic Place Stanislas is indeed ideal for exploring the city on foot. We're equally happy that our attentive and friendly staff made your visit memorable, as guest satisfaction is our top priority. We're glad you loved the breakfast! On your next stay, don't hesitate to try Le Spa du Crystal—a serene 200 m² space with a heated pool, sauna, and hammam, accessible by reservation—or our rooftop bar with unique views over Nancy. We look forward to welcoming you again for more wonderful memories in Nancy! All the team at Best Western Plus Crystal, Hôtel, Bar & Spa
Early check-in was possible without any problems, room small but sufficient for a city trip. The bathroom was modern, shower ok, air conditioning easily adjustable, small minibar. The only thing I found too soft was the mattress. But that is very individual. The staff was nice and helpful. The garage was a 5 minute walk away.
Thank you so much, SaschaDoobe, for sharing your feedback after your stay with us! 😊 We're delighted you enjoyed the smooth early check-in, the comfort and modern features of your room, and the kindness of our team. It's great to read that our services helped make your city trip to Nancy enjoyable. Our Standard rooms are indeed cozy and ideal for short stays or solo travelers, offering all the essentials for a comfortable visit—especially with our central location between Nancy's train station and Place Stanislas. If you'd like a bit more space or a firmer mattress next time, consider booking a Superior or Deluxe category, which offer queen or king-size beds and extra room to suit your preferences. As mattress comfort is a very personal matter, your feedback helps us guide future guests toward the room that best matches their needs. Regarding parking, our partner garage—Joffre Saint Thiébaut—is just a five-minute walk from the hotel. By validating your ticket at the front desk before payment, you can enjoy a 10% discount on your parking fee. On a future visit, why not discover our Crystal Spa (with heated pool at 30–31°C, sauna, and steam room—access by reservation), or one of our three unique bar spaces, including our rooftop with panoramic views over Nancy's rooftops! We'd like to remind you that the best rates and most flexible cancellation policies are always available when you book directly on our official website or by phone. We hope to welcome you again soon in Nancy! All the team at Best Western Plus Crystal, Hôtel, Bar & Spa
This was our second visit in a couple of years. The hotel is beautiful! The rooms were deluxe, nicely sized, had a great shower stall (a hand rail would be helpful for a slippery surface) great plush towels, nice beds and lovely linens. This room had been newly renovated compared to our visit a couple of years ago. The breakfast buffet was the best we've ever experienced in Europe. Choices were quiche Lorraine, bacon, sausage, crepes, baked beans, scrambled eggs, 3 kinds of cereal, many fresh fruits, many juices, 5 jams, croissants, pain au chocolate, 3 types of breads, hams, cheese, excellent coffee and a lovely space to enjoy eating. The only drawback is that we aren't able to access the hotel's preferred parking lot and have ended up parking underneath the Gare, a two block walk. Not a problem in great weather, but very wet on a rainy afternoon. More signs or less construction is needed.
Dear 467sandyd, Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing to stay with us again! 🌟 We are delighted that you enjoyed our newly renovated rooms, the comfort of our plush bedding and towels, as well as the spaciousness and amenities of our Deluxe category. Your kind words about our breakfast buffet truly touch us—our team puts a lot of care into offering a wide variety of local and homemade products each morning, and it means a lot to know it was the best breakfast you've experienced in Europe! We also appreciate your suggestion regarding the handrail in the shower: safety and guest well-being are our priorities, and we will certainly discuss installing additional support in our bathrooms for even more comfort. Regarding parking, as our hotel is located in a historic area right in the heart of Nancy, we unfortunately do not have our own on-site parking. However, we have a partnership with the nearby covered Joffre Saint Thiébaut parking lot—just a few minutes' walk from our entrance. By having your ticket validated at our reception desk before paying, you can benefit from a 10% discount. Please let us know during your next visit, and we will happily guide you and provide updated information for a smooth arrival, whatever the weather! On your next stay, feel free to discover our Crystal Spa, featuring a heated pool at 30–31°C, sauna, and steam room—all accessible upon reservation for serene, crowd-free relaxation. You may also want to enjoy a drink in one of our three distinctive bar spaces, from our cosy lounge to the lush winter garden or the rooftop overlooking Nancy's rooftops. For your future reservations, remember that the best rates and most flexible cancellation conditions are always available when booking directly on our official website or by phone. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon for another memorable stay! Kind regards, The whole team at Best Western Plus Crystal, Hôtel, Bar & Spa
The room was very very very very small!!! It is even small for a single room. Advertised as a double room it was terrible!!! No bedside table! I felt quite offended by offering this room to me as a 'double room'. Pictures a deceiving!!! You can only use the Spa for 50 minutes a day. How to go into the sauna and relax and take a steam bath and relax and have a swim in 50 minutes. Terrible!!!
🌟 Thank you for your feedback, HikerHiker! 🌟 Dear HikerHiker, First of all, we sincerely thank you for sharing your experience with us and for your detailed feedback following your stay at the Best Western Plus Crystal, Hôtel, Bar & Spa in Nancy. 🛏️ About the Room Size We are truly sorry to read your disappointment about the room's size. Our hotel, with its 135-year history, features rooms of various sizes due to its unique architecture—especially in the Standard category, which does correspond to our “petite chambre.” They are indeed compact, with beds positioned at an angle and limited space for furniture such as bedside tables. For more comfort during a stay for two, we always recommend our “Supérieure” rooms, which are larger and equipped with a Queen-size bed and more space around. We sincerely regret that the online photos may have led to a misunderstanding. If you're planning another trip to Nancy, do not hesitate to reach out to us directly—our team will be happy to advise you on the most suitable room category for your needs and expectations. 💆♂️ Spa Access Explained Regarding the Spa, our access is limited to 50 minutes per night reserved, and this is indeed a choice made to ensure tranquility and the best comfort for everyone, with a maximum of 12 people at the same time. We are aware that 50 minutes may seem short, but this system allows each guest to enjoy the facilities—pool, sauna, and steam room—privately and without crowds. Rest assured, each guest can book their preferred timeslot for every night of their stay. Should you wish to extend your wellness experience during your next stay, do not hesitate to let us know—we will do our best to propose a time that meets your wishes or check for available additional sessions. 📢 Advice for Future Stays Please know that our team is always available to help you choose the category best suited to your needs. For your next visit, booking directly on our official website or by phone will guarantee you the best rates and the most flexible cancellation conditions. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you under better conditions soon, and we remain at your entire disposal should you have any further questions or wishes. Warm regards, All the Team at Best Western Plus Crystal, Hôtel, Bar & Spa
Wre got a room for 2 with a queen bed. The room was so small, that the head of the bed and the side of the bed were ujp against the wall. The other side of the bed was so close tot the chest of drawers, you could barely open them. You had to crawl over the bed to get into it. Storage was abysmal, unacceptable. The room was small for a single, to shove a queen into it was criminal. Bathroom was small. Breakfast was middling.
Dear Luke, Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that the room did not meet your expectations. It appears that you reserved a standard room, which is equipped with a standard double bed (140 cm), not a queen bed (160 cm). While our standard rooms can accommodate two people, they are more compact, and we understand that this may not be ideal for everyone, especially considering the differences between the US and the European standards. For a more spacious stay, we recommend to book our Superior rooms (only €10 more) or Deluxe rooms (€20 more), which offer more space and comfort. Did you speak to the reception after your check in ? Maybe it was possible to switch the room. Please note that our photos online clearly show the layout, including the bed positioned near the wall. For future stays, we encourage booking directly through our website or by contacting us, as this always guarantees the best rates, better than on Booking or Expedia. We hope to welcome you back under improved circumstances. Staying at your disposal for any further information, Yours faithfully, Julien GATINOIS Manager Best Western Plus Crystal, Hôtel, Bar & Spa
To recommand. A whole and total experience. With rooftop bar with quality seats and swimming pool. Quality breakfast Ans super motivated staff. Really TOP. Please try it out for yourself. Ideal surrounding. City center. Good smell everywhere. Staff very responsible
Visited Nancy for a short stay at BW Plus Crystal Hotel with friends to see some Art Nouveau from the Lorraine region on the way back to Paris after exploring Strasbourg and the Alsace. The hotel is next to a small tree-lined square and mainly office buildings, but has a good location within walking distance to both the TGV train station and historic Place Stanislas where we found several restaurants and cafes in and around the large square. The hotel seems recently renovated with some work still on-going in the lobby during our visit in late May. The lobby is small with modern furnishings and a bar/breakfast room off the brightly lit hallway lined with additional tables and seating. We took the buffet breakfast which offered a good, quality selection but was also somewhat pricey. We did not have a chance to try the spa or roof-top bar, though both seem like nice features for the hotel. Our standard rooms were clean, comfortable but small, barely space around the bed to move about. Same for the bathroom. Furnishings and decor were new or recently updated. The location near other buildings meant no good views, at least from the lower floors. Front desk and bar/breakfast staff were attentive and professional. No real complaints about staying at the BW Plus and would stay again if visiting Nancy and the Lorraine region.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and appreciated our convenient location for exploring Nancy and the Lorraine region. We're pleased to inform you that all renovation work is now complete, including updates to the lobby. We hope you'll have the opportunity to experience the fully finished space on your next visit. It's great to know that you found our breakfast selection to be of good quality, and we appreciate your feedback regarding the size of the standard rooms. We strive to provide a comfortable experience for all our guests. Thank you again for your kind words about our attentive staff. We look forward to welcoming you back to the BW Plus Crystal Hotel during your next trip! Best Regards, Best Western Plus Crystal, Hôtel, Bar & Spa
Nice hotel with excellent services close to the city center. Real value for money. This is the second time we've been here and will certainly be back soonest. Breakfast was very nice with lost of fresh local products, such as cheeses fruits and nuts, nicely combined with fresh backeries
Dear Jan-Willem Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us and found our location, services, and breakfast offerings to your liking. It's always a pleasure to welcome back returning guests like you, and we're delighted that you continue to find value in what we offer. Our team takes great pride in providing fresh, locally sourced products for breakfast, and we're glad you appreciated the selection of cheeses, fruits, nuts, and freshly baked items. Your kind words mean a lot to us and serve as a great motivation for our entire team. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. If there's anything we can do to make your next stay even more enjoyable, please don't hesitate to let us know. Best regards, Best Western Plus Crystal, Hôtel, Bar & Spa
PERFECT hotel! We've stayed there for 2 nights during a weekend getaway. The "deluxe" room was very spacious, beautiful and clean. The bed comfortable. Staff very friendly and the hotel perfectly located. The best thing – of course – was the SPA: a large pool (a little bit too cold at first but after a sauna warm enough), dry sauna and a wet sauna. I would totally recommend the hotel to everyone visiting Nancy. Thanks for the great stay!
Excellent recent 2 night stay with family. Spotless rooms, very quiet, fabulous amenities. Good air conditioning. Loved the basement swimming pool, steam room and sauna. Enjoyed the Ground Floor bar (unfortunately weather not good enough to enjoy the rooftop bar). Central.
Dear Mumof4Kent, We are really happy to read your review and would like to thank you for taking the time to put it online !* Do not hesitate to book directly on our website or on the phone with us to benefit from the best rates next time you come in Nancy ! Lovely convenient hotel with very clean rooms and very helpful staff. Great rooftop bar with comfortable lounge chair and lovely plants and fabulous drink selection. Would recommend this hotel as not far to walk into the city center.

Kinderen mogen alleen morgenochtend even. Heb meteen maar gevraagd of mijn kinderen ook ergens anders niet welkom waren. We hadden juist geboekt voor het zwembad. We zullen hier in ieder geval nooit meer komen. Answer Best Western: Dear Mrs Maltha, We thank you for taking the time to leave a review about your current stay in Nancy and wish you a warm welcome on your new Google account created especially for the occasion. We apologize for not exceeding your expectations. However, we would like to inform the internet users of how exactly things happened. Around 4:00 pm today your husband stopped quickly to ask if we have a room available for 4 persons for 1 night. We said yes and informed him of the price. He checked with you and came back asking us if we can hold the room. We said that we needed to tell more about our services and proceed to the registration but your husband was in a rush and insisted that he needed to park the car prior to anything else, not leaving us the time to explain anything about the hotel. Despite the fact that we had no registration properly done, we prepared your room for 4 persons, adding towels and installing the sofa bed. When all the family came back from the parking, we then proceeded to the payment, the check in, and informed you about the special hours for the children in the spa : at 8:00 am or at 9:00 am from tuesday to sunday, and at 10:00 am and 11:00 am on monday. We do have a spa, not a campground pool with waterslides. The place is dedicated to calm and relaxation : that's why children are not forbidden but have a limited access. We are sure you can understand that. Anyway we finally had the opportunity to inform you about the special time slots for children : this was before you even go to your room. You were disappointed and we do understand it perfectly. We reminded you that you could still use your 50 min spa access time-slot the next day at 8 or 9 am. You were not happy with that so we offer you to refund what you just paid. We were even ready to help you find another hotel with a pool accessible for children with no limitations but you refused. So it is a bit complicated for us to understand your complaint. Your review has been posted on the internet just a little more than 1 hour after your check in. So internet users can have a true idea of how objective your words are... We remain at your disposal for any further information. However we still wish you a great stay in Nancy! Julien GATINOIS Manager
Dear Mrs Maltha, I must recognize that I have a problem understanding with this kind of "revenge comment" about something very specific: no word about your room, the decoration, the breakfast, the cleanliness... Why did you stay in the first place when our restrictions for children were such a big problem for you? This information was available on the internet and you were advised even before you go to your room! We proposed to refund what you just paid without discussion... When we opened the spa 2 years ago, kids were allowed all the time. This quickly became a huge problem with children running, screaming and jumping into the pool, even when having guests enjoying their massage nearby. We had to deal with unhappy other guests because of the noise and because many parents today have problems to make their children behave properly. Again, our spa is a place of calm and relaxation so this kind of behavior is not appropriate. I do not say that your children cannot behave properly, but you sure understand that we cannot put rules in place for some and not for others. This is why we put in place not a prohibition but a limitation: please do not say that the children are not welcomed in our pool. This is just not the truth. They have special hours in the morning. I can surely understand that this schedule doesn't initially fit in your planning and this is why we had offered to refund your stay and let you go. You refused. However, you finally managed to go to the spa with your children on saturday morning (I found your time-slot reservation) and enjoyed, as all our guests, your 50 min per person access... As you said yourself, many hotels are "adult only". You now know that other hotels can have restrictions for children. We are certainly not the only ones and I am sure that you will always check this point for your future stays. I worked myself in the most prestigious luxury hotel in Montreal, and I can guarantee you that hospitality is my top priority: my ratings wouldn't be what they are if I didn't pay attention to this point. However it is very difficult to satisfy everybody: families with children, couples, people who like calm, etc. We try to do our best but sometimes it doesn't work. I respect your choice of not going in my establishment again, but about the 4300 other Best Western Hotels worldwide, I would like to inform you that many of them have swimming pools with no restrictions for children... Best regards, Julien GATINOIS Manager
I was especially impressed with the spa facilities. Steamy steam room, great whirlpool, very relaxing. You do need to make a reservation at the front desk but that's only because guests are limited so the experience is restful and quiet. And it is. I greatly enjoyed a 45-minute massage on a heated bed (hydraulic as well!) for 79 euros.
Dear Albany, Thank you for this very kinf review regarding our Spa! Indeed, it is better with the reservation system so everyone can enjoy comfortably this relaxing area ! Looking forward to see again ! The Front Desk, Alice
Very comfortable, stylish hotel, looks like it was recently renovated. Great sound protection, very clean, very comfortable bed. Welcoming, efficient stuff. Delicious breakfast. Altogether great experience.
Dear Lina, We thank you very much for this kind review regarding everything in our establishment ! Do not hesitate to contact us directly next time you wish to make a reservation so you can benefit of our best prices and advices ! We hope to see you during your next stay in Nancy, Alice Best Western Plus Crystal Hôtel & Spa
Gracious staff. Minimal gym but nice pool. I think it is as good as it gets in Nancy. Btw I would not spend much time as a tourist is Nancy. Museums open from Wednesday on. Terrific modern museum im Strasbourg
This was my birthday weekend, so we splurged for the Deluxe King room. It was NOT what I expected. It was a lot smaller and the bathroom was tiny as well with little space to place toiletries and toothbrushes. It's listed as having 269 ft2 (25m2). It didn't come with a double sink or walk in shower as in the picture. The foot of the bed was close to the wall with a small space to pass through to the other side of the bed. On the far side of the room there was a small arm chair in one corner and a small desk in the other. The room overlooked the atrium. The woman I spoke to at reception assured me it was a deluxe king room. There was no way it was, but I didn't want to argue. I should have had a staff member go to the room with me to see the room. I've looked at the pictures on the hotel's page and the room I got was definitely not what I paid for. I am very unhappy with the staff member who lied and took advantage of me. Maybe it was because we didn't book directly with them.
Very modern meets retro and chic design. Comfortable and cozy rooms. Breakfast area and lobby are very welcoming and the spa is very nice, be sure to book the Crystal Spa massage, one of the best massages I've ever had. All in all I can't think of a better stay in Nancy regarding bang for buck and location
We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 children and were told at reservations that families were limited to morning slots (8am to 10am) for the use of the pool. We reluctantly booked the next morning slots which was at 9am but after a long working week, we overslept and didn't make it to the 9am slot. We asked if there was a quiet time in the afternoon to use the pool and were told no and that it was the hotel rules. The woman at reception on Saturday night was pretty unpleasant about it and didn't care and just kept referring to the « hotel rules ». The lack of flexibility made us feel unwelcomed as a family. The next day, we made it to the 9am slot (which was overcrowded!) but after our morning slot and a quick shower, we came down to breakfast only to find out that at 10:20am, there was barely anything left to eat and the staff were no refilling (breakfast was to be served until 11am). So by insisting on families to use the pool in the morning, families are missing on breakfast. Too many rules making families (who are clients!) feel like an inconvenience to the hotel. Shame it could be a nice hotel if it was better managed.
Dear Samira, Thank you for leaving your comments regarding your recent stay at our property. On behalf of our entire team, we would like to apologize for not exceeding your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you gave us to implement improvements to ensure we offer a better experience for guests in the future. As you said: we advise our guests with families before the reservation regarding the restrictions about the spa access for the children. So families can book knowing our rules. You sure understand that this is a spa with pool, sauna and hammam, where our guests can have massages and find relaxation, not an outside pool with slides and water games. We cannot make an exception as the other guests who want to have a peaceful moment will especially avoid the 8am-10am "noisy" time slots. About the breakfast please be assured that we provide food for all our guests. If of course the quantity of food is lower at the end of the service than at the beginning, we refill regularly the buffet. There was a dysfunction with new staff members during your stay: a briefing has been done already with the breakfast manager. We hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. Sincerely, The Manager
Very comfortable. Great location. Good breakfast. Good value. Ample sized room and very clean. I arrived by bicycle and the staff were not put out by this. Whisked my bike away to safe storage in the hotel.
We spent two nights in room 114. The size of the room and layout were excellent! There was a very large bathtub/shower combination and separate WC. We were very pleased since we were traveling with out cat and needed a large enough space for her litter box, food, etc. Room 114 was perfect. There was plenty of room for toiletry bags in the bathroom, table top space and outlets beside the bed and on the desk. There was a tea tray and Nespresso machine with capsules that was convenient too. Breakfast was excellent. There were many choices, hot items, cold, many breads, pastries, fruit, cereal, juices and two coffee machines. We didn't have to wait at all to help ourselves to the buffet and there were plenty of tables as the staff maintained everything quickly. We had two problems. There is a tremendous amount of construction going on and many streets were closed. Our gps could NOT get us to the hotel and we tried for over 45 minutes. We ended up parking underground at the gare and walking the two blocks to the hotel with our luggage. Also, the mattress on our bed was ready to be replaced. It looked great when covered with the duvet. But when my husband and I laid down we rolled to the middle. It was difficult to get out of bed because the sides of the mattress were much higher than the middle. Everything else in the room had been upgraded and was in excellent condition. Possibly the mattress was due to be replaced very soon and we just arrived before it happened. Otherwise, this hotel was excellent in service and location. The staff were very polite and helpful with our "beginning French". We would return for sure.
Most perfect hotel for our stay. Brilliantly located a short walk to Place Stanislas. Close to the station, though we arrived by car. Was nervous that as there is no drop-off or hotel parking it would be tricky. Parking in the road to checkin and unload very easy and a 200m drive to the multi-storey car park. Early reviews painted a grim picture of this car park, but I found it clean and tidy and well used. The hotel has been extensively renovated and it shows (street view shows it surrounded by scaffolding). Rooms are modest but very well equipped with air conditioned, great shower etc. The internet is the best I've come across giving 100Gbyte service. The breakfast buffet is in the hotel (Not round the back as earlier reviews mention) and is extensive and well prepared. There is a roof terrace which has a bar service in the evenings. The staff were attentive and helpful.Excellent!
A beautiful location served by a particularly pretentious staff who are not up to the task. Note the lack of respect due to the customer. I question the benefit of a SPA because of COVID. What an image for the city of Nancy. Go your way
Good location, very central for station. My bike was stored in a garage 2 minutes walk away from hotel. amazingly they charged me to store a bike, the only hotel I visited in a 12 day trip in Europe that charged me. breakfast - no direct link from hotel, one has to walk around the block to get breakfast. major building works on site immediately next to hotel. i stayed on a Saturday night and it was quiet, however I do not think this would be the case. Room good, staff friendly
With the family (5 pax) we stayed one night in this hotel during our trip coming from the south back to the Netherlands. The hotel is situated in the centre of Nancy and in the close vicinity there are enough parking places available, at 200mtr there is also a parking garage. The rooms are very clean and the staff is very friendly, they also speak good English. Enough good restaurants at walking distance and the hotel breakfast is really good; besides the traditional French croissants it also offers fresh fruit, eggs, yoghurts and a cappuccino. So I recommend this place for a stay in Nancy.
The second time we visit this hotel and again we were more than satisfied. The added bonus this time was that we booked direct through fairbooking. It gave us an extra discount and we could avoid the big booking sites that left us out in the cold when things went wrong in the past.
The best part of the hotel is the location: close to the train station, inside the city center, but not to close to the historical part (15 min walking from the main city square). There's a parking (no convention with the hotel) quite close where you can park the car. Generally it should be much better. Fair price and nice staff.
Arrived in the evening. The receptionist offers us the "superior" room at the same price. We get into the room and we realize that almost all the towels were missing (only a small one was there). We call the reception and ask for at least one shower towel that we would have shared between the two of us. We tell the receptionist that there was only one towel in the room. He doesn't argue and bring us the towel. We leave the next day (only one night). Few hours later we get an email notifying us that we were going to be charged for all the items missing (97£ for two towels and a shower mat!!!! Which evidently had been missing since the previous guest left the room). I try to answer that email but I get an automatic response with no possibility to contact anyone. Tried to call but no one answers the phone number that we were given with. Basically they say "you stole. Whether or not it is true, since we didn't figure out earlier, we charge you and you can't even answer" Sent at least three mail. Still waiting for someone getting back to me
No parking available at the hotel, so we parked on the square opposite the hotel. Personnel was friendly and room was nice, albeit a little small. Beautiful bathroom with separate toilet. The breakfast was sumptuous.
This is a decent hotel when you take into account that business hotels are rarely special. The breakfast is better than expected. This alone would make me choose Crystal again the next time. The rooms are nice. I had plenty of space for my yoga mat and luggage! The bed was comfortable. There was a tub in my room. Front desk even the night clerk speaks great English. Parking is a trick. The website said “paid parking” there is no garage for the hotel but it is very near 2 different public parking garages. Republic and Joffre. Easy to follow the signs when find the hotel. There is also street parking if you are very lucky and brave. Again you must pay the machine for the privilege.
Stayed on a Saturday night in early August. Clean, quiet hotel- near all the action, but tucked away from the hustle/bustle. Front desk staff were VERY polite and helpful- and spoke English. Bonus! Room was a bit small (compared to Cdn hotels)- but clean and well organized. Parked on the street nearby- $6 Euros for the night and no issues. Highly recommended.
We arrived here when our car got a flat tire on our holiday and had to stay for three nights to get it fixed. We could not have stayed at a better place than this hotel. The staff even made several calls to help us fix the car! Great rooms, super comfy beds, nice breakfast and very friendly staff. Great location, nothing negative to say about this hotel!
Lovely room, not very big but very elegant decoration! Even the pillowcases were elegant! Bed was very comfortable, with 4 wonderful and "softdreams" pillows. The view from my room was to the church in form of the hotel and I could see the windows of the church through the flowers of my window.
Garage parking bookable on request. Free wifi. Air conditioning in room. This hotel is in the heart of Nancy with shops, cafes and restaurants all around. The garage parking makes this hotel great for bikers. Hotel staff speak good English. A large beer in the local cafes will cost between 6.50 and 7.50 euros, so a bit pricey.
We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Crystal while visiting Nancy. The hotel is well located near the train station and also easy walking distance to the Place de Stanislas and other tourist sites. The room was well decorated and roomy. The bathroom had a nice shower. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was expensive at 14 euros, but the choices were very good. It was enough to keep us going without needing a large lunch. There is also a bar where they will make you a drink if you ask for one. The staff was very helpful and friendly, both at reception and in the breakfast room. It is a busy hotel, greeting both tourists and business travelers.
Excellent friendly and helpful service from reception staff. Our room was brightly decorated. Everything was very clean. Had a great night's sleep, bed very comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best I have had in France or anywhere. Fantastic location for seeing the beautiful city of Nancy, can thoroughly recommend this hotel
Friends recommended this hotel and it was a good tip. Our room on the second floor was large by French standards, with big windows that open. The toilet was behind a separate door from the sink/shower and the ventilation was poor; a bit of a minus. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel; there's a fine little cafe at the end of the block. Another time I would ask for a room on a higher floor, or one that does not face the square, which was noisy enough at night to be a disturbance. Front desk staff were consistently cheerful and friendly.
We opted for this place because of the affordable rate and we weren't disappointed. Location is good, central yet quiet. Our room was on the small side but clean and modern. The bed was not huge either but quite good. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was really good by French standards.
We spent several nights here while attending a conference in Nancy. The hotel is a short walk from the train station, which was perfect for us as we had a very early departure to Paris at the end of our stay. Our room was very comfortable, overlooking the front entrance; it was surprisingly quiet despite being next to the elevator, and we slept very well throughout our stay. The bathroom was very nice (toilet and sink in a separate room), with a tub and shower combo, and lovely big towels. The hotel staff did respect the environmental policy intermittently, though our towels were taken and replaced after the first couple of days. Front desk staff were helpful and efficient throughout. I had some laundry done, which to my astonishment was returned after about 3 hours, though 24 hours was given as the normal expectation. The wifi was barely adequate in our second-floor room, but I had a far better connection on the ground floor (there is comfortable seating near the minimalist business centre). Breakfast (very good) is served from 6:30 a.m., a nice touch that allowed us to take advantage of breakfast before leaving to catch our 7:16 a.m. TGV to Paris-Est. Highly recommended!
This is better than a 3 star hotel. Fantastic location 5 minutes from the railway station and an easy 7 minute walk to the beautiful Stanistlas Square. Plenty of good resaraunts around. Our room was the basic room but really good for European hotel. Also had window that could be opened. Very helpful front desk team that gave us some solid local advice. Great staff and the hotel was very quiet and extremely clean. Breakfast is really good and the room well run. - good value breakfast.
I upgraded to superior room. A superbly comfy bed, quiet, beautiful TV, superb toiletries, a large wardrobe with shelves, really nothing to criticise. And the little touch of news in your language before breakfast! A smallish breakfast room and there could also be a sink in the toilet, but then throw the bathrobes and slippers in, and it would absolutely be a 5 star experience :) The warm-yourself food is a bit overpriced for the experience, but hey, if you are hungry and dead tired, that's an option. But there are restaurants nearby, so youd' really have to be dead tired for that. Quiet, spotless, boutique-y, ideally located, lovely staff.
I'd just decided to give Crystal 5 out of 5 when I came to check out! Then it went to 4. First the good things. Well located, friendly arrival, excellent breakfast, decent room. The breakfast staff even remembered our room number and what hot drinks we took. Bravo! So why did they lose a point? Our booking form said they had taken our payment when we booked. (We don't remember it was several months ago) But when we checked out we were told we hadn't yet paid. So we had to pay there and then. I won't know the truth of that until we get home and check our credit card statement. Unsettling though, and it reminded me that when I booked I'd mailed the hotel asking for their best rate. I didn't get a reply for a few days so l booked anyway on line. When they finally e mailed me, they quoted a rate higher than their 'on line' rate, which is a bit naughty. That apart, we enjoyed our stay. Things just need to be crystal clear!
This was our second stay at the hotel and it won't be our last. Aside from the fantastic location, close to restaurants, shops and a great food market on the nearby square, our superior room was tastefully appointed, spacious and overlooked a church. Thanks to double glazed windows, there was no outside noise. There are a limited number of indoor parking spaces but we had no problem finding a place to park on the street just around the corner. The front desk staff was friendly, and the breakfast offered lots of good options. Recommend!
This is one of those hotels where "good" is the perfect score and I see most people think the same. It is nice and clean with comfortable rooms and a decent breakfast. Service is good also. It's a nice walk down to the main square. Perfect for a night in Nancy !

I was so happy when we came to this hotel! It truly was what I think of when I think of a best western.----Good size rooms, modern, clean, nice bathroom. We had a great night in the hotel. The staff was amazing. The woman who checked us in was friendly and helpful. She gave us directions and dinner recommendations. What was really amazing about this hotel was the day we checked out. We drove away and had a problem with our rental car. They were able to help us and even act as a go between translating for us on the phone. They were SO NICE about everything.... They are a full service customer oriented hotel! I would stay there again!
This is a good looking hotel from the outside but inside the rooms is a different story. The room was very tiny and not enough room to open our big suitcases. The bathroom was very old and the hair dryer from the 70,s the aircon struggled through the night. On a positive the staff were exceptional in organising a car park and providing detailed instructions on the best spot to watch the square lights. Would only recommend for service.
This is an Hotel hidden away in the back streets but only a short walk from the main Stanislas Square and the excellent restaurant area. The staff were so kind and very helpful, we had booked a standard room which as they were quite quiet they upgraded to a room overlooking a small square. The facilities were excellent and the assistance offered exemplary. The room was clean and well organised with tea, coffee and a kettle available, this meant one can have a cup of something hot without stirring out of the room. The prices were very reasonable so all in all a good experience!
On a road trip we only had one night in Nancy, but were very pleased with Hotel Crystal. Upon arrival we were greeted by charming staff who should be congratulated on their welcome! We were able to reserve parking there, so the car was off the road and locked in a very secure garage. Our room was adequate, slightly eccentric in layout and design, but clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast appeared rather expensive so we found a nearby cafe which is not a problem. Would stay again.
Near everything really. 5 minutes to the main Stanislas Square. Don't miss the light show there every evening in summer 10.45pm - spectacular. I have seen many light shows on buildings in Europe this was probably the best. Very Nice hotel, the front desk staff are excellent, in particular Anna-Sophie, so helpful and smiley all the time. Gave some very useful information and was always at hand if you needed any suggestions. A real asset to the hotel. Hotel parking is nearby but you must reserve as there are not many spaces. We got a nice upgraded room which was really nice. Breakfast was included in our rate, if it wasn't id recommend going to a cafe as the choice is limited. We had 3 nights in Nancy, 2 is all you would need to see most things comfortabley but we just relaxed lots. Nearby Mets would also be worth an overnight stay. Internet is very slow - at least on the third floor. So much so i used my data package most of the time in the hotel. I would stay in this hotel again when back in Nancy.
We stayed here for one night on route to Switzerland. The hotel staff were extremely helpful in recommending places to eat and provided a map of the local area. We had a junior suite which was very spacious and set over two floors. The hotel was very clean and peaceful once inside. The breakfast was a little expensive so we gave it a miss.
Just spent a couple days in Nancy and since I came and went by train, I wanted something within walking distance. This hotel was the perfect choice as it's only about a block from the gare but the area around the Nancy train station isn't quite as industrial as in some cities, perfectly normal, so the area was fine, also. In fact, the station is set back from the big plaza and any hotel, even right in front of it would ot have had a noise issue, at least from the train. Teh rooms of this hotel were very comfortable and they had an electric kettle which I liked, and a nice bathroom, good AC and TV. Bed was comfortable and the front desk staff very polite and helpful. Couldn't ask for anything better. The location is also good for access to the trams and buses, if you use them, and really only a short walk anyway to the main square or the covered market area. I asked for a room that did not look over the front street for noise reasons, and that worked great, I was on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet. I would definitely avoid a room right next to the elevator, there are a couple. My rating is that this is a great hotel within its star category of course (3* in France), it's not a luxury hotel, of course, but I rate according to price/level of the hotel and meeting those standards.
Wonderful place. Great location, easy to and from train, as well as city center. Hotel staff is super helpful, pleasant, friendly and multi-lingual (but are willing to let you practice your french with the....a lot said there!!). Our room was immaculate, quite large (we were upgraded -- not sure why (probably because someone wanted a street view....but, that's being cynical ), but we gladly accepted. Bed was large, comfortable; fridge was cold, and the shower was the best one we encountered on our 3 week tour. I would stay there again if I were to return to nancy.
We have stayed at this hotel on a previous holiday, so when we were looking for somewhere to spend the one night we would be in the area we remembered this hotel. It's still the clean comfortable place we had visited before and would not hesitate to return even if it always seems to be raining when we are in Nancy.
Stayed for 1 night on journey from ferry to home. A spacious room & generous bathroom with walk-in shower. Well stocked & presented breakfast for a reasonable 13.50€. A bonus was finding a news sheet in English at our door.
Stayed here many times. This is a perfectly placed hotel, on a nice little square, close to rail station, public transport, restaurants, the famous Place Stanislas, and close to shopping or business too (Maxéville in 10min by car), with small own parking and parking garages within a minute or 2 walking distance. Service is perfect and personnel makes you feel welcome. Tip: book early or really late, to avoid an 'overpriced' room.
Likeable place and a better standard than some of the French BW hotels. It's always a shock coming back to French hotels after a stay in Scandinavia or German hotels. However this place was a delight. ... good shower, comfy bed, welcoming staff. Breakfast was good too. A short walk to Stanislas Square in the heart of the old town took me to a pleasant restaurant serving food in the late afternoon. There is a car park but it's not for trucks like mine so I had to park in the local municipal place at €5 for the night (vs €15 if I'd managed to get into the hotel one)
A comfortable smaller business hotel off the main street in older period building and close to both the train station and main town square. Had good price for single room for quality that it purchased. Rooms are comfortably furnished, clean with a good bed and upscale bathroom. Room faced street but quiet with windows closed. Small public space across from hotel does get some noise on weekends. AC worked well during heat wave in July. Staff professional and helpful.
As "fans" of Art Nouveau we use to go to Nancy just to walk around and of course visit. This time we were at the Best Western Crystal Hotel very well situated with a safe parking next to the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean but a little too small. The desk very helpfull and the breakfast OK. The famous place Stanislas and many great reastaurants are at walking distance
Leave the station via the Place de la Republique exit and good straight across, the hotel is in front of you. Would have rated the hotel higher but the wifi went down for two days and nobody seemed to care about it even thought I kept reporting it.
Although street parking nearby is difficult, there are a choice of public car parks nearby. The hotel is very central, near the station, shops and restaurants. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The rooms are in good condition and the bed comfortable.
I only stayed there Cuz I got a good deal. The hotel is pretty close to the Gare. Biggest problem is its wi-fi, it is really slow. Room was cozy but quite small. A couple of time when I walked in and out of the hotel, there was nobody at reception. Thank god Nancy is safe.
The hotel is well located to walk to most places in Nancy. This would include the cathedral, excellent restaurants, the park and the plaza. Our room was very quiet and had plenty of space. The buffet breakfast was certainly ample. I found the staff to be very helpful. Would stay here if ever returned to Nancy.
Good amenities, the room felt a bit small but all in all everything else was good. We found free parking for the weekend in a small square just in front of the hotel. Location was great as it takes just a few minutes walking to get to Place Stanislas.
I was really surprised by the quality of this little boutique hotel in Nancy. The reception staff were all really friendly and helpful at check-in and with guiding to the sights of Nancy, which are all nearby, just a few minutes walk to the main plaza, plus the main shopping area and fresh markets. Unfortunately Nancy centre is undergoing extensive construction at present, so if arriving by train, exit at the main entrance to the right, walk toward the Ibis hotel, then toward Printemps and Fnac (Irish bar on the corner) as you turn the corner at Printemps you enter a little plaza you will see the hotel at the end with lovely flower window boxes. The room was small but adequate, kettle for coffee and tea. The bathroom was modern and clean and good walk-in shower. I did not have breakfast at the hotel as quite expensive but in the plaza outside there is a Paul bakery/cafe so perfect just 10 steps away! All in all although a little highly priced for what is it, i would recommend this hotel in Nancy for a few nights.
The hotel is not far from Place de Stanislas and is comfortable. The rooms and beds are small, but everthing else is nice. Especially the Wifi is great. Parking is in the same street, it 's only a little bit difficult to get your luggage in the hotel. There is no space for cars to stop and unload or load the luggage, but we managed!
I booked 2 nights at this hotel on spec after reading TR reviews. I ended up booking direct with BW and got a Superior room on the 4th flr. Great room and great view with privacy. Cannot fault the hotel, everything was excellent - location, staff, room. Driving to the hotel through suburban/industrial areas I worried about the town but the historical centre surrounding the hotel in a gem requiring 2 or more nights. For parking don't worry about the hotel's miniscule carpark. Just drop your bags and continue straight down the same street about 500 metres there is a barge 24/7 carpark. Enjoy Nancy.
This hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of Nancy. The staff is very welcoming, the rooms were very comfortable, and breakfast was outstanding. We would definitely stay here again. Even though it is called "Best Western" it does not at all feel like a chain. Had a real boutique hotel ambiance.
Small, climatic hotel in a close distance to the old part of a town and to shopping centre. Rather difficult to park a car on neighbouring streets. Very small breakfast room and sometimes difficult to get a seat although personel very fast in sweeping tables and preparing them for next guests. Very professional and helpfull staff.
Very good location hotel easy to look around Nancy city and reasonable price even wifi a little slow but just a little problem. The room clean and large enough for our family .Hotel is near printemps shopping mall and just walk to place stanislas and cathedral in 5 minutes and very easy to find a good restaurant ,next time i will not change hotel it is very good for me
Convenient location a short walk from the train station, this little hotel is a great find. Air conditioned - a must in the summer heat; comfortable beds; good breakfast; clean and great friendly service from the delightful staff. It is a great location for strolling around the wonders of this beautiful city. Would definitely recommend.
By now it feels like coming home to my personal pied-a-terre in Nancy, when I enter the hotel. Always genuinly friendly & helpful staff, good room, good internet, free parking in front of the hotel until 10:00am (alternatively a small parking garage at the hotel or a big one at 350m). And I love the beds :) And of course the proximity of Place Stanislas and the shopping & dining and railway station are great plusses for this hotel.
The city centre location and service quality were both excellent. However, there was some noise late at night (dogs barking and people shouting or talking loudly) and in the early morning (delivery and cleaning lorries from 5.30am). A few other minor niggles, with the wi-fi and smells, were not impossible to live with. The shower was one of the best we've experienced, but if we were to visit Nancy again, we would probably not stay here. Instead we'd choose a quieter location, even if this meant being further away from the centre.
both from the train station and sightseeing spots is walking distance(about 5 minutes).staffs are very kind and friendly, moreover customer orieted. vegitables are not provided for breakfast as same as other 3star hotels in frane.
Excellent first stop after leaving Calais en-route to Italian Lakes. A well positioned central hotel. Good facilities nearby. Would readily stay again, this was in fact our 2nd visit. Nancy is an impressive old city with lots to see and do.
Stayed here for one night during our visit to the beautiful city of Nancy. I reserved a parking space at the hotel because I didn't want my car to be outside or on a public parking space during the night. The parking space can be reserved via e-mail and costs 13 euro for one night. It are secured garages nearby the hotel. The hotel isn't very big and it hasn't got a restaurant. The breakfast is served between 6:30 and 10:30 in a separate room. It's a french breakfast, so don't expect scrambled eggs, sausages, fried beans etc, but there is a nice selection of meats, cheese, cereals, marmelade, etc. If one thing however stands out, it's the bed, which in my opinion is one of the best I have slept on during my many vacations.
This hotel is located in downtown Nancy. Couple of blocks from the Train station and walking distance to the mall, shops, restaurants and Place Stanislas. Staff was English speaking and very friendly. Room was small but comfortable for one person. Balcony window facing the street and courtyard gave me a view and I was able to check the weather outside each morning. Would recommend this hotel for your stay in Nancy.
