"Comfortable Room"
TRTW, 28 Mars 2024

I chose this hotel as the location was conveniently located near the freeway as I needed to head up north without the hassle of any traffic in the Santa Barbara area. Prior to coming, I got an email for an early check-in for $25 at 11 a.m., which I signed up for. I didn't get an email confirmation, so it was my bad not having that information with me when I checked in. I left the SF/Bay Area at exactly 6 a.m. just so I can make it there by 11 a.m. However, upon arrival at the hotel, I was told that they don't do early check-in and that the hotel was sold out the night before so there's no rooms available. The next available was at 12 noon. So, being tired and hungry from driving 5 hour straight, all I can do is relax at the lobby area. At least the sofa was comfortable. At around 12 noon I checked with the front desk to see if there are any rooms available. None yet. Luckily, my friend came over to visit me and we decided to just go to lunch. The good thing about this hotel is that it is close to restaurants/stores--walking distance. When I came back from lunch, at least a room was finally available. They gave me a room overlooking the parking lot, which was not bad. At least I can see my car from there. The room itself is comfortable. The bed, blankets, were clean and comfy. The whole room was clean. I like how there's a microwave and fridge in the room. I also like that it was a walk in shower. The TV screen was big and remote worked well. Wifi connection was also decent. There is a flyer for room service, if need be. Overall, the room itself is comfortable. I would actually stay there again, especially knowing there is continental breakfast at the lobby, and conveniently located. The room itself was quiet too. What I didn't like was the construction going on. It was loud. They actually starting working outside around 5:30-6 a.m., which woke me up. I thought to myself that was just too early. They should have waited until 8 a.m. at least. Also, the continental breakfast does not have any sweet/cinnamon rolls and muffins, which I was really hoping to see so I can just grab and go. Instead there were slices of bread, yogurt, make your own waffles, eggs, potatoes, etc. They also have fruits like banana. I didn't really get to eat at their breakfast, as I was in a hurry to leave that morning. I also saw the gym, it was nice. They also have a pool, but did not see it. Again, I would stay here again. It was decent and comfortable. I also like that their lotion smelled lemony good.

"TERRIBLE PLACE TO STAY!"
GrandTour10961358428, 25 Mars 2024

We had a reservation for a court yard view and at check-in I was told that a courtyard view was not paid for or requested! I then showed the reservation that our courtyard view WAS requested and paid for! After they looked at my reservation I was told sorry we are sold out of the courtyard view! I was asked about the difference in cost for facing a parking lot? They said take it up with the reservation company! They basically said they could care less! After we we're gave room 125 facing a parking lot. We find that the heater / AC unit does not work! A Houseman came and fixed it, not hours later the heater came on and it made so much noise it sounded like a freight train engine running! Even the next door guest asked what the noise was? I called the front desk and asked for a room move! I was told the hotel was sold out! I know that was being lied to cause I called on my cell phone asking if any room we're available and was told yes! So if you like to be lied to, and staff that could basically care less about your stay? Then this is the place for you! We left soon after we checked into a much nicer and extremely friendly hotel near by. I would give this a ZERO stars if I could and you could not even pay me to stay there again!.... The staff and management clearly need to be retrained in the area of hospitality and customer service!

"Incompetency from staff, dirty non functional rooms"
scottfoster160, 20 Mars 2024

Front desk staff was unable to check us in. We booked on Priceline. Had to rebook through hotel and pay again to get my family into a room. The room was dirty, sink didn't drain, light bulbs were out. Neighbors were so loud my kids couldn't sleep. We asked to change rooms. At first we were told there were no other rooms available but then we're giving another room. The second room was dirty with hair all over the shower. The short curly kind. Beds in the new room were rock hard and the clocks were off by 2 hours. Overall a horrible stay. I would not recommend this hotel.

"Great place to stay with family"
92cyrusb, 11 Mars 2024

I have been staying at this Best Western for years, every time we visit my parents. The rooms are consistently clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast is really nice. The only downside I have had over the years is very spotty WiFi connection. Some rooms have great connectivity. Good enough to stream Netflix, others have ZERO network. I have tried calling the Best Western IT support but they could not figure out the issue. The only recourse is to ask for a new room, but you might have the trouble there as well. Besides that, no issues.

"convenient location, mediocre service"
sundayrella, 19 Février 2024

We were grateful to find a Best Western so close to the airport. However, it had more of a motel feel than a hotel, and the guest service agent that checked us in did not provide us with information about the stay. We felt a 7:00 AM breakfast was a little late for those trying to get out for early travel demands (flights, miles to drive etc). However, the person who oversaw the breakfast was very efficient and seemed to have it up and running by 6:30 even though we were told we couldn't have breakfast til 7:00, we were able to get a bit of food before having to head out for the day. The rooms were clean for the most part. The bathroom was very small, no tub, shower only, and the shower had a cobble-type flooring in darker color that made it hard to know if you were stepping into a clean shower or a dirty one. The bed mattress was slanted to one side. The TV didn't work. I felt for the amount of money charged it was not as good as other best westerns I've stayed in, and I felt the cost was unfair for what we got.

"Do NOT stay here."
Anthony G, 26 Novembre 2023

Hotel is old, run down, smells and is incredibly overpriced. At check in we were told that if we wanted maid service, we had to request it 24 hours before our stay. The shower door leaked. The vent in the bathroom ran constantly. Literally nothing good to say about this property.

"best western south coast in santa barbara, ca"
Experience742985, 24 Novembre 2023

room cleaning policy a joke. verbiage hidden on sign in page. 24 hours in advance, guest has to schedule in advance. front desk clerk did not inform us of policy. we stayed 3 nights, asked for housekeeping afternoon of 2nd day, were informed we had signed for the policy and could not get housekeeping during our stay. the front desk clerk was adversarial when i told her they need to verbally inform the guests of the policy. she said 'i'll tell guest they need to read what they are signing for' (3 times). very bad customer service. room prices too high. other guests told us the front desk clerks were high on friday 11-18-23

"Disappointed in Goleta, CA."
joanneortiz710, 06 Novembre 2023

We were told that we would be able to use our Rewards points. This was not the case. We were also told that it would be rectified on the invoice. It was not. We were promised on a call to Corporate that they would get back to me within 5-7 days. They did not and it has not been resolved. We will not be staying at Best Western, again.

"Too expensive for what you get"
Lyndra U, 06 Novembre 2023

My family and I looked up booking a room for UCSBs Parents weekend. Usually BW prices are between $250-$300 a night. But I could not find anything less expensive than BW's price of $417/night. Considering the price I expected at least streaming capability on the TV but there was only cable TV. Also, BW recently renovated and did not have shampoo in the shower caddy's (empty holders on the walls) and took out the carpet on the main thoroughfare in the room jwith no slippers to provide comfort on a cold floor. So when I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom my feet were shocked and I woke up and could not go back to sleep. I wouldn't be so picky if I was paying my usual price...because I understand that BW is not a ***** hotel BUT I have always been satisfied with the bang for my buck. This is definitely a lesser bang for a more expensive buck.

"Nice hotel in convenient location"
dvoith, 26 Septembre 2023

Nice hotel with beautiful grounds and lovely pool. Rooms are quiet and have very comfortable beds and pillows and an awesome TV set. I slept better than I do at home! The only problem I encountered - the refrigerator in the room was not working. I didn't report it as I didn't need to use it.

"Horrible Customer Service"
Rick M, 26 Septembre 2023

I was told (by reservations) prior to checking in that I would have no problem using my Best Western Rewards gift cards when I check into my room that I had reserved several months in advance. When I arrived, the front desk said that they were not authorized to accept them, and that I would need to speak with manager the next day. The next day I went to the front desk and asked for the manager, only to be informed that the manager was at a convention and would be gone for a few days. I have always enjoyed being a Best Western loyal over the years, however, this horrible experience has me considering switching over to the Marriott Bonvoy Team.

"Consider other options"
lehamill, 09 Septembre 2023

The toilet in the room, although clean, emitted a strong sewer smell that permeated the entire room. There's no chance the cleaning staff was unaware of this, but nothing was done. Everything else was fine, but we will not be staying here again.

"Decent motel close to UCSB, but I was double-charged"
ericlF214XT, 07 Août 2023

Stayed here for daughter's orientation at UCSB. Conveniently located not too far from campus. We got a 2-Queen suite, which was well-appointed and spacious with a sofa/table in living area, although a tad dark with not enough lighting. Like most accommodations in the SB area, they are on the pricey side for what you get. Property grounds were very well-kept with manicured lawns, trees and shrubs throughout. Decent sized outdoor pool and hot tub, but only 4 chaise loungers among all the chairs. Pool towels were tiny, smaller than the bath towels. We enjoyed ping pong on the rickety old table. Included breakfast was below average. We ate it the first morning and skipped it the rest of our stay. Go to the Cajun Kitchen less than 5 minutes away for a great hearty breakfast! Some nitpicks: shower door leaked water all over bathroom floor, front door had bad seal where air got in, and connecting door to adjacent room provided almost no sound insulation. If my review ended here, I would've given it 3.5 stars. Unfortunately, after our return home I noticed that the hotel double-charged me. I had a pre-paid reservation, but they charged me again for the full amount upon checkout (I did express checkout so did not notice). I tried to contact the property directly over the next two weeks, leaving a voicemail and sending an email to the GM, neither getting a reply. I wanted to give them the chance to correct on their own before going the chargeback route, so resorted to contacting corporate BW. They stepped in, but it did not get resolved for another week. So 3 weeks after checkout I finally got a refund for the double-charge. The property simply sent me an email of the updated hotel bill showing the refund, stating "...statement attached." No apology or message of any kind! My daughter will be at UCSB for the next 4 years. With this treatment, without even acknowledging their mistake let alone offering an apology, I will be avoiding this place for future visits.

"Relaxed"
Grid323, 18 Juillet 2023

Loved how the pool was warm enough to just jump in. Rooms we're super clean. All the electronics were working. Such as fridge, microwave, alarm clock, AC and television. Breakfast area was also clean and there was a variety of food to pick from.

"Too much $$ for dark tiny viewless room"
Christyfra, 03 Juillet 2023

Room was small and dark. The bed and pillows both uncomfortable. The breakfast was bland. I was extremely disappointed for the cost of this room and what we received. We stayed at a different hotel nearby for almost the same price that was amazing, bright and comfortable. We wished we had not moved hotels.

"Good stop on the way from SF to LA"
Mimi C, 12 Juin 2023

We were a family of six. Sofa bed was okay but kinda creaky. Breakfast was typical for best western - potatoes, bagel, eggs, and make your own pancakes. Nothing special. Room was clean and everything worked well. Parking was easy and free. I would stay here again if I was in the area. We were just here one night on our way to SoCal from SF.

"Best Western - Goleta"
jnajeras71, 09 Juin 2023

My stay at Best Western Goleta was ok. A bit noisy and their hot breakfast wasn't so hot, was served cold potatoes, also tiny flies found in my coffee cup. Lost my appetite. But staff are nice and friendly….

"Amazing stay for my two weeks visit in Santa Barbara"
hilaglanz2023, 25 Mai 2023

I was a visitor at UCSB and stayed at this hotel for two weeks. It was very convenient with all shopes nearby, the fridge, big room with comfortable desk and office chair. Bed and shower where comfortable, the breakfast was awesome, and the gardening- wow!!! It was extremely beautiful. Was very relaxing and nice to be in such a place

"Paradise in paradise"
Seaside560731, 30 Janvier 2023

A great place to stay with comfortable rooms, close to everything, nice gym and laundry facilities, delightful breakfast and great internet! Courtyard is beautiful and has a nice area for business meetings.

"Handicap parking spaces should be closer to rooms of all types"
CaliforniaPlanner, 23 Décembre 2022

This hotel was just so-so. Though the grounds looked very nice and the breakfast setup was good, the hotel is right next to a freeway, and our room was dark and old-looking. My biggest issue with the hotel, though, was that we needed a room very close to a handicap parking space and, despite asking for one and questioning the location on a hotel map, we ended up too far from one, which was a big problem for my spouse. I get that it's possible no rooms of the type we wanted (not a handicap room—just one with a king and a sofabed) were near a handicap parking space, though the desk clerk didn't say if that was the case. But if it was, then maybe there could be at least one or two rooms of each type near the handicap spots so people with mobility problems could minimize their problems.

"Above Average Hotel with great location!"
544ankurk, 12 Novembre 2022

I have stayed twice at this hotel. The location of the hotel is excellent. The parking is free at the hotel. The hotel is clean and managed well with good breakfast served in the morning. However the rooms are a little old/dingy ( e.g. the AC in my room made excessive noise) and can be upgraded. But I didn't mind that since I was on a business trip here.

"Most satisfying!"
Sheilabouchard, 17 Octobre 2022

My friend and I were very satisfied with the courteous and friendly service, hotel amenities, cleanliness and it's location. Thank you for pleasant memories. Will definitely recommend to our family and friends.

"College tours"
wecleansv, 10 Octobre 2022

We went to tour colleges. We arrived at 3:30 and our room was still not ready. Overall it was a great experience, A very great breakfast well organized And the girls in the kitchen were very helpful. Housekeeping was so polite. The location is great And it was a very safe area. We will stay here again if the opportunity arises

"Not recommended"
paolozX9866ZL, 08 Octobre 2022

The rooms are very old, in the style of a cheap motel. Modern facilities have been added, but the rooms remain much below standards. Uncomfortable pillows. Overpriced. Breakfast was nice, for US motel standards.

"Charming, clean and friendly"
Seaside560731, 03 Octobre 2022

Excellent staff, lovely grounds, quiet, clean rooms with everything you need including a gym and business center and breakfast. Will be back to this location when visiting family and for business! Can't wait!

"2 Day Stay"
tayl0r999, 30 Septembre 2022

This hotel would have been a wonderful experience if the room was not so in need of upgrading. The outdoor atmosphere, the lovely gardens, and the activities were great - table tennis, swimming pool (both of which were lit up at night). The breakfast was better than most and the courtyard area was lovely. But it wasn't much fun to return to an old, tired looking room

"Nice big rooms, clean pool, great breakfast"
ConnieR60993, 26 Septembre 2022

I wasn't expecting a Best Western to be this nice - comfy beds, big room, nice pool, great breakfast (eggs, sausage, pancakes, bacon, latte machine!). Grounds were clean and well kept - check out the topiaries. :-) It wasn't SUPER fancy, but it was kinda fancy. Close to airport. I'd stay here again.

"Great breakfast but rooms need renovating!"
dansin123, 01 Septembre 2022

This hotel has a beautiful garden and pool. In face everything was great apart from the room. The room was not dirty but smelled really old with thick carpets and curtains that have collected dust over the years. The air on was right next to my head and I woke up with a headache. Breakfast was excellent with a great choice of quality food. It's a shame as I hold have liked to rate higher- beautiful grounds and great breakfast but the room brings my rating down.

"Pleasant Hotel"
Flyingfreely, 24 Août 2022

Hotel beds were very comfortable. Slept well every night. It was quiet and no disturbances by any hotel guests. Didn't even know they were there until we saw them at breakfast. The landscaping was so plush and green and pleasant to look at. Very pleasnt place to be.

"Tried to charge more than reservation"
SFtraveler49, 18 Août 2022

Upon check out, the bill was over $100.00 more than the price on my reservation. I had a printout of my reservation, so the clerk did adjust the price. However, I was still charged $2.10 more than my reservation (tax increase on 7/1/22 she said). Good thing I had my printed reservation. I will not be back, nor recommend.

"Short stay but very relaxing"
ccrd2, 28 Juillet 2022

First and foremost… Thanks to All the staff at this hotel…especially Savannah & Devon. Very helpful and accommodating to us. I felt secure and the amenities were great. Great landscaping too! Clean hotel. Great location to various eating establishments. Near airport too.

"Stay at Best Western Plus South Coast Inn"
trisha_bynes, 12 Juillet 2022

Our stay was great- it was a wonderful location, the grounds are kept up beautifully, the room was spacious, and the breakfast was awesome! We will definitely stay here again when we visit Santa Barbara in the future.

"Great quick Trip!"
Varela24, 25 Juin 2022

Amazing staff and grounds. Everthing you need for a stay. Will stay here in the future everytime. If you are looking for value and comfort, this is your hotel. Clean, quiet and and so very comfortable.

"Very comfortable"
kurtr997, 24 Mai 2022

Comfy place like home convenient to freeway and everything . Great breakfast just like pre Covid! A lot of other hotels went cheap and refused to bring back breakfasts (like Pacifica suites and Wyndham Ramada which are now bottom tier) but BW brought it all back, with the minor exception of pancakes.. with a pool and jacuzzi and a sincerely helpful staff, this is the place to go if it is affordable on the days you are traveling.

"Clean, comfortable stay"
644stuartr, 14 Mai 2022

Hotel was convenient to airport. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Neighborhood restaurants nearby within walking distance. Our room was 2nd floor, in the back, a quiet location. Pool looked inviting though we did not use it.

"BYO PILLOWS!"
bradlO564LA, 08 Mai 2022

Grounds and rooms are clean and nice, very enjoyable, with some important exceptions! - These are cheap, uncomfortable, destroy your neck, $15 pillows! I ended up using a stack of towels. - Ridiculous child's sized toilet. - Bathroom wall had unrepaired water damage. - Morning bagels were moldy, indicating poor health code practices! - Phone was broken. - Blankets inadequate. We were both cold but didn't realize it until too late & tired to dig for extra blanket. - Breakfast ends at 9AM! We're on vacation - it should end more like 10 or 10:30. - Huge mirror spanning the entire wall beside the beds! I don't really want to see myself that much... - Luke warm shower water at best. Water pressure so low it took 30 seconds to fill all the nozzles of the extra wide shower head. It took me 5 minutes to finally wash all the soap off me. - The shower is an old-school sized bathtub. Perfectly workable but nothing in the least way fancy or luxurious. Shower curtain like you'd have in a 2nd bathroom in a modest home. - Our room, 102, reeked of kitchen smells (strong bacon & eggs smell at 6AM, strong cleaning chemicals at 4PM). Turns out, THEY KNEW IT when they assigned it! We'll see if they comp us something for our grief, but so far the answer is "no, because you paid with points". Excuuuuse me, I used enough points to fly to Hawaii for a single night. Pros: - Very nice gardens. Spacious seating. Very enjoyable. - Quality ping-pong table - Two queen beds! - Night & day coffee and hot water in lobbie, with cups, lids, sugar & creamer, and unlimited supply of STASH tea bags. - No pets (so not so worried about fleas or dog poop). - Walking distance to several very nice restaurants, including the best Ramen we've ever had!

"Tired and Worn"
Sukidh, 07 Mai 2022

My husband I stayed over a weekend at this hotel while we were in town for a wedding. When we arrived the the 3 ladies at the front desk were not the friendliest bunch. Probably the most unfriendly reception I've had a hotel in years. The outside of the hotel looks okay but our room was something else. The furniture was old and worn with stains on the couch. The shower floor was filthy with black dirt marks all over it. The room smelled like Carpet Fresh. Everything just looked scruffy. On a good note-the breakfast was fine and the coffee was good.

"Breakfast & Showers needs work"
marissad19802022, 19 Avril 2022

Need to add dairy free options. And more variety, potatoes or more fruit. Need to seal bathroom, flooded! Not good for children/no bath option. Rooms were nice, other than that. Air conditioning worked great. Pool was fun!

"My New Favorite Goleta Hotel!"
winsomebreeze, 07 Avril 2022

The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and roomy. The staff was excellent. The complimentary breakfast had many choices. Our breakfast host was friendly and professional. We will return again next time we visit our family.

"Amazing Stay!"
annalynch527, 28 Mars 2022

We loved our stay at this hotel! Every staff member was so kind and helpful in every way. The pool area was wonderful to use and mainly empty. Everything was extremely clean, and the grounds were very nicely kept. We appreciated being so close to many restaurants and a trader joes as well! Very convenient location and definitely will stay again!

"Disappointed when compared to our previous stay."
BorisS, 27 Mars 2022

The room was much too small to accomodate two (2) queen beds. My wife and our adult son were in Santa Barbara for a funeral. The breakfast was well below par. Omelet paddies steaming along in pans and over crisp bacon for breakfast. Coffee was good!

"Golf Trip"
johnalmanzan, 25 Mars 2022

The BW Plus was exactly what our foursome needed after a long hot day on the golf course. Great all-around atmosphere, especially the beautiful outdoor patio lounge areas. A choice of restaurants in area made it an easy short drive.

"Always Dependable"
peggyh56, 20 Février 2022

We have family in the area and have been staying here whenever we hit town (ever since they opened). Great place1 Nice amenities, pleasant staff and clean, clean clean! The breakfast is really good for a hotel quickie breakfast. Love the pool area

"A well appointed Best Western"
FoggyDC, 21 Janvier 2022

Really one of the nicest best westerns I have visited. Quiet location rooms in pretty good shape, decent value. Caution, don't go into the breakfast room and expect any type of social distancing. How about having coffee available for longer hours in the morning?

"Sad hotel, Best to AVOID"
Mimi695, 12 Janvier 2022

Rooms were dark, dingy and old, Wi-Fi slow to nonexistent, TV didn't work, met frowning, hostile owner and when politely asked her if we could get another room she aggressively said “if you don't like it here, there's a hotel across the street”, even though the “hotel” was empty. Maybe she was just having a hard day. It's so unfortunate, my family was visiting from out of town and this trip meant a lot to us. Other than this miserable hotel, we had a great time!

"Filthy"
megpree79, 18 Octobre 2021

I reccomendation staying at any other property in the Santa Barbara area. We had clogged a coffee up shower. Flies in our room (probably coming from the disgusting shower) the bathroom had paint peeling on the door and wall. The shower floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. It was just overall disgusting. Also, the walls are so thin that you can hear every conversation happening next door and above.

"LOVE the South Coast Best Western"
ElizabethH835, 13 Octobre 2021

As whimsical as it is guest-friendly, it is our favorite hotel of all time. Employees are wonderful. Hotel is very clean and comfy with all the amenities we enjoy--hot breakfast, pool, inside and outside visiting area amidst the lovely landscaping. It's walking distance to EVERYTHING, including lots of restaurants, stores, salons, Trader Joes and so on. It's also very close to the airport. PERFECT!

"Not worth for the price"
CaliforniaKia, 04 Octobre 2021

This place is away form everything in an unattractive area. While the rooms were renovated and modern, the inn itself looks very outdated and in need of updates. For the high rates they charge, you would expect much more in terms of location and service. The front staff were indifferent and unenthusiastic. It seemed they were not very happy to be there. The atmosphere was more like a motel 6. Also, my son left his laptop behind. When we called the front desk after we left, they were not very helpful. I know it is not their fault but most establishment try to help out in such situation by taking the information down and letting you know they will call you if anything turns out. At this place, again, they were very indifferent. They are better places to stay at Santa Barbara area.

"Horrible customer care"
sarahfromcolorado, 21 Septembre 2021

My flight from Colorado was canceled and I was unable to use my reservation. The general manager refused to waive the $288 cancellation fee even though their website later that night indicated they were sold out and had no rooms available. I called before check-in time. I talked to their corporate office and staff members that said the general manager had the discretion to waive the fee, but when I talked with her she flat refused without giving any explanation. They have certainly lost a customer in me as best business practices for hotels say a hotel should consider extenuating circumstances when considering fees and obviously this was not even considered in this case as it was completely beyond my control and it appears they re-sold the room anyway.

"Great Place"
norie777, 10 Septembre 2021

The staff was efficient and pleasant. The beds were clean and comfortable. Shower was refreshing and had good pressure. TV was big with a great variety of channels. The buffet breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of options. The courtyard was very pleasant for relaxing or enjoying your breakfast. Even though it could get noisy outside, the rooms were well insulated and quiet. I highly recommend that the carpets and floors be scrubbed frequently.

"Very Convenient"
William T, 25 Août 2021

We like this hotel because it is a great location since we live near by and stay here when we are evacuated for wildfires, floods or home repairs. It is always a pleasant experience and very clean and safe with a nice number of dinner options near by.

"WAY OVERPRICED!!"

We have stayed in Best Westerns all over the world and this was by far the worst. We paid $350/night for a standard motel room that should have been $150/night. I've never stayed at a place where the wifi didn't work. I was on the phone w/their tech support for 30 min. and the problem still didn't get resolved. The toilets were low flow which is fine, but it took a long time for them to fill up, the fridge needed a staff member to come look at it to make sure it was functioning (this staff member didn't wear a mask when entering our room), and the sink water had an awful sulfur smell. The grounds were the best part and clearly what they spent their money on. The staff were pretty unhelpful w/our food allergies at breakfast and when we mentioned all of these issues to the manager, she was also unhelpful. She said we would need to go through Expedia since we booked w/them. She also admitted to the rooms being overpriced!! I called Best Western customer service and left a voicemail. Never heard back from them after they said I would after one day. We are still waiting to hear back from the corporate office. We will think twice before staying in another Best Western. Beware w/this place!!

"My family had a wonderful time at Best Western Plus!"
bmackenzie2021, 30 Juillet 2021

Our stay at Best Western Plus Inn was overall a wonderful experience! The pool and hot tub was amazing and we played quite a bit ping pong, a great cap to a lovely day in Santa Barbara. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and delighted with the amazing landscaping and flowers that were abundant there, so lush and tropical feeling, the atmosphere there is pure bliss! The beds were a bit firm for my taste, but my family and I slept well and the overall noise level was very low. The only issues I had were lack of fan in bathroom and coffeemaker was not functional... not deal breakers but minor inconveniences. The price point of this hotel was a bit more than I wanted to spend but my family and I agreed that it was an amazing experience and we will most definitely be back!

"No housekeeping!? alarm tan for over 30 min. at 1 a.m."
mrtraveler82021, 19 Juillet 2021

Nice location, gardens and pool. Upon entrance the front desk let us know there was no housekeeping during stay, while charging the same rate. At 1 am on Saturday morning, an alarm went off and the guy in front desk had no clue on how to handle the situation. After 30 minutes it was a guest who shut the alarm and told hum what to do. The alarm went off two more times that night. the breakfast was good and the breakfast staff very efficient and friendly.

"Pretty good"
James W, 01 Juillet 2021

Staff were great and the free breakfast was good. The rooms are typical motel rooms and a bit dated. It was also a little noisy at night with people talking outside your room. overall this was a good experience.

"Good stay"
Newchi H, 27 Juin 2021

Overall, it's nice stay. The room we stayed is quiet and clean. Breakfast is good too with lots of selections. Customer service at the lobby is friendly. Would come back and stay here again when visiting city of Santa Barbara.

"Good location for visiting UCSB but can be expensive at peak times (graduation)"
CaliforniaSJmom, 13 Juin 2021

Stayed here 1 night to help pack my son up to move out of UCSB campus apartment. Due to graduation week activities, all hotels in the area were about 40% above normal pricing (and the hotels closest to UCSB were booked up). This BW hotel is about 3 miles from campus so convenient for visiting parents. If not for the high price I would have given this 4 out of 5. Service was good, although I was annoyed they only serve breakfast from 7-9am, even on weekends. I arrived in the lobby to checkout at 9:15AM on Saturday morning to find no breakfast available. I also didn't like the pillows (very thick, not good for stomach sleepers). Hair dryer was old and broke as I was using it. Good location close to restaurants, drug stores, fast food etc and easy access to 101.

"Loud, rude, lumpy, cold"
Diane94941, 01 Juin 2021

We were placed in a first floor room near the front of the hotel. Unless this was the very last room available, no one should be placed in these room. The other guests, which included loud children running and yelling down the walkway early in the morning, plus loud, drunken young adults screaming, banging doors, talking loudly also down the hallway took zero consideration to keep voices or other noises down as they passed the rooms to their own. The person at the desk was rude and the shower water was very cool. The pillows are lumpy and low quality. I called in the evening in hopes the water would be turned up for the morning, which it was not. You can also hear the freeway noise. Overall, a very unpleasant experience.

"Not what you think!"
Love4224, 22 Mars 2021

As soon as I arrived I felt discriminated against. I was asked to stand behind a partition that the previous guest was not asked to stand behind. The lady was very unpleasant and sarcastic. She then continued to go over all the negative restrictions and didn't highlight any amenities. I was intimidated and continued to received a lecture of what was not allowed. Wanting to give another chance, we proceeded to the room which was not as clean as you'd think with all the extreme restrictions; I am now thinking negatively and take a closer look: I find it extremely disturbing that the toilet roll was not changed out, just nicely folded from the prior guest. It had smelled like someone just used the bathroom; the bathroom light and fan were also on. The “clean” remote was in a dirty holder, and the other remote was not thought of. The rough towels smelled like chlorine and when I asked for extra at check in, since there's no housekeeping offered, I was questioned on if I was sure I needed more towels since the room had four and I was staying two nights with my boyfriend. My experience was horrible and I had to stay two nights! It was way overpriced for its condition. There wasn't any parking and I was offered nothing besides a low quality motel room. The maids only clean what's required: toilet, mirror, sink; but the mirror frame, shower tile, and door frame didn't look like they'd ever been cleaned. The tile in the shower was broken and the interior had been painted over so many times it looked disgusting.

"Comfortable stay"
Dan L, 22 Mars 2021

This was the third time staying here - 1998 and 2011 were other times. Very nice room and property. I liked the fact that room was bright and had reading lights on bed. Our room at the Best Western in Palm Desert where we stayed the night before did not have this lighting. Also, it is a very attractive garden property and the hot tub was welcome after a long day. The only thing I did not like was the breakfast to go. We stated the previous night at the Best Western Palm Desert and had a hot breakfast and it was disappointing to not have that here.

"UCSB Visit"
GlobeTrotting706608, 13 Mars 2021

This BW was very close to the UCSB Campus for which I was visiting my daughter. Outstanding BW with strict adherence to COVID guidelines, and offered great accommodations. Great staff and customer service as well!

"Sorry Valentines"
alexp7152021, 15 Février 2021

We always stay at Best Western's when we travel. The hotel was at full capacity. Our room was noisy. A fan kept on running and wouldn't turn off. The breakfast bag was disappointing. Hotel not very clean.

"no TV program guide"
fkuzmich, 30 Novembre 2020

This was a very nice hotel except for 2 items: The lack of a TV program guide requires you to crawl thru the channels to see what is on. The other issue is with the door that connects rooms together. You can hear the people on the other side when they are near the door.

"loved this hotel"
Arkadiy, 29 Novembre 2020

very nice, remodeled and clean. beautiful courtyard, recommend a room facing it if you want quiet. definitely a bit more challenging during pandemic but they seem to be doing a great job with check-in/out, breakfast etc.

"My work trip to Goleta"
Mobile15376859415, 23 Octobre 2020

The staff is friendly. The room is very clean. The housekeeper even folded items in a rose shape. My room even smelled good. The hot tub and pool are available to use. You sign up for 45 min increments to use these amenities. I signed up and had the pool and hot tub all to myself. This is awesome due to the covid 19 pandemic. No sharing.

"Simply the Best"
glfinternational, 16 Septembre 2020

As a platinum member, I continue to forget my benefits. The staff never hesitates to provide me any benefits or free upgrades available to me. I cannot thank them enough for being the best. They always satisfy my stat to the fullest. Thanks to the employees, from room cleaners to front desk workers, they simply make my stay the most comfortable that I could ever imagine.

"Wonderful in every way!"
584derekl, 14 Septembre 2020

I have stayed at this hotel 20 times at least. Loves this hotel and it is immaculately maintained! The staff is friendly, attentive, and rooms are super clean. Best place to stay if you have students attending UCSB. Close proximity to freeway. Will definitely return!

"Always Love the Best Western South Coast Inn"
ElizabethH835, 09 Septembre 2020

Love this sweet, immaculately maintained, recently remodeled property with capable, friendly staff, many of whom have been there for decades. Hot breakfast, nice pool, patio and beautiful parkland courtyard for visiting. We stay here at least twice a year and have done so for the past 8 years. No other motel in the area delivers the same value or quality of experience.

"Weekend Getaway"
Taneesha W, 17 Août 2020

First stay away from home since the Covid 19 outbreak. Upon arrival the staff was very pleasant and quick. The hotel was immaculate. The king suite was so nice and the beds were comfortable for a short while. The air conditioning work properly and the bathroom was large.

"Comfort and Location"
ghk1857, 31 Juillet 2020

We stayed here for 3 nights early in the year. We were very pleased with our stay, and found the hotel very comfortable, and had everything we needed. The breakfast was very good. The location was very good for accessing Santa Barbara and the surrounding area. Good value too, we would definitely stay again.

"The only hotel in SB I will stay at"
296heidieh, 22 Juillet 2020

Don't listen to the bad reviews! I've stayed at this hotel at least five times. It's the only hotel I will stay at in Santa Barbara. The staff are friendly, the continental breakfast is delicious and most importantly, the rooms have always been spotless. I'm shocked it has gotten bad reviews as my expectations are very high when I travel.

"H"
brinagonzalez1111, 20 Juillet 2020

Room did not look or smell disinfected. Pee from previous hotel guest sticky on bathroom floor under toilet that made running water noise all night. Would definitely not bring family . Dust everywhere!

"Nice stay even during COVID-19"
Esther E, 02 Juin 2020

Customer Service is top on his hotel's list. Have stayed here many times. Always a pleasant experience. Grandson attends UCSB. Our favorite place to stay thats close to him and for the price. Usually includes a great breakfast but not at this time.

"Deficiencies in Handicap Accessible Room"
jefrank6, 30 Mai 2020

Threshold for roll-in show was too high. The grab bar next to the toilet was too short. It should be 36" long. The existing grab bar was placed in the wrong position. The toilet should be a comfort height-not a short 14" height.

"Emergency pandemic trip"
Inspiration525954, 26 Mai 2020

I am grateful to those who came to work during this period of time. Although we did not have normal service, the front desk, maid and maintenance employees were great at doing what they could. I have stayed at the Best Western before when all services were available and it was very satisfactory. The people who work there are always very helpful and pleasant.

"A quiet place to stay near Santa Barbara Airport"
Jack D, 08 Mars 2020

A great place to stay while visiting Santa Barbara. Rooms are well-appointed, property is very clean and beautifully landscaped. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast, free to guests, is very good with a good variety of selections. The pool is great for the kids plus the spa is great for the adults. Travel to downtown Santa Barbara is about 10 minutes or less!! We stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent at this establishment!

"No Car Necessary At This Attractive Property"
bluewatchumo, 04 Mars 2020

Located near the airport and the railway, this property provides a shuttle and is on a bus route that goes into the beautiful City of Santa Barbara. Located nearby are some chain restaurants, 2 top flight supermarkets and a few shops within a 10-15 minute walk on Callé Réal. A traveler would be very wise to consider this immaculate and well kempt property in this area.

"Nice hotel, great location"
griz727, 02 Mars 2020

I wanted a hotel that could be like a home away from home so that my daughter and I could enjoy some time together. She is currently a student at UCSB and even she needs a break from her daily off-campus apartment life. Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. We upgraded to a suite and there was a TV is both the bedroom and "living room" each with DVD players. With a Redbox nearby, we rented a movie to watch in the evening. The room also had a mini fridge and microwave which came in handy. There is a nicely equipped gym and a lovely pool area as well. This location is also perfect as it is close to UCSB, nearby restaurants, grocery and shops and it is also just 10 or 15 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara. We both slept really well as the beds were very comfortable and to our liking. All in all, this is a very nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay.

"Welcoming, clean, and a great location :)"
catherinecook33, 26 Février 2020

The front desk was super inviting and they let me check in early which saved my dating plans! The rooms were clean and decorated nicely. I slept great on the bed and the pillows were great :) only thing that was an issue was I missed breakfast. I would ask what time breakfast is served because for some reason I found other times posted online.

"Santa Barbara Trip"
RyaO08, 17 Février 2020

This was a clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. The grounds were in lovely condition. The pool & hot tub area were clean. Breakfast was hot & plentiful. Automatic pancake machine & fresly ground espresso machine were our highlights. Options changed the 2nd day. This property was a great alternative to staying in Santa Barbara. A quick 7-9 minute ride on the freeway & you're by the wharf.

"Bad idea"
cpw787, 07 Février 2020

We were initially put in room 105, which is supposedly accessible for disabled people but has terrible lighting, has a Murphy bed that is uneven which messed with my circulation, and it was a “king suite” but the Murphy bed was a queen size. The next room we got moved to had a toilet that was leaking water on the floor. One of the worst hotel room experiences I've had in years.

"Good Place to Stay in Goleta"
Noelle G, 01 Février 2020

My dad lives down the street and so I know the area well. His couch bed is getting too uncomfortable for me, so for our last 2 nights we booked a double queen room on the Mountain side of the hotel, on the ground floor. Our fridge was not working, but they were eventually able to replace it, so after that we were very happy with our stay. I really enjoyed the grounds and the succulents. The hot tub heater was broken so I wasn't able to try that, and it was a bit too cold to swim in their pool. I liked the lobby area with the coffee and hot drinks available. I did find the mocha and vanilla cappuccino too sweet, however, the remedy is to add one or two shots of espresso to your cup! We slept very well and it was rather quiet. I've stayed at The Goodland next door before, but the South Coast Inn is a more affordable choice(though it is very hard to find decent hotels below $150/ night in the Santa Barbara area).

"Mixed Bag"
hatetoflySFbayArea, 24 Janvier 2020

I'm getting so that I just want to avoid Best Westerns. Our double queen room was really cramped. The stuffed chair was crammed in between one bed and the heater. When the blower was on, the chair was too uncomfortable to use. A single king room might have been less cramped. My wife discovered too late that there weren't quite enough blankets in the room. It took me a while to discover the pen and paper hidden in a drawer. The good things were that there were a decent amount electrical outlets and USB charging outlets at the work table and between the beds. And there are individual reading lights on each side of the beds. We had a shower, no bath, but the shower was nifty: two grab bars, and the control was on the side away from the shower head. You ever turn on the shower, it's too cold, you jump away? Not so much here. One unusual feature: the room had little carpet; it was mostly a “wood” floor. Cold to the bare feet, but fewer dust mites if you're allergic. The gym was large and well equipped. I went to get some coffee mid-day. It was really strange. There was a coffee urn, and a multi-purpose coffee/espresso/mocha/etc. maker. But they only had flavored creamers, no plain milk or half-and-half. When I complained, the gal said “it's corporate policy,” which sounded like a lame excuse. They have a cooler right there, how hard can it be to put in a half pint of milk or half-n-half? At $170+ per night, I'm not convinced it's a good value. I might try the Motel Six if there is a next time in Goleta.

"Best Residence Inn in the system"
DewPortland, 20 Janvier 2020

We drove out of our way just to be able to enjoy this hotel one more time. We found it accidentally last year and enjoyed it so much we wanted to return. This extended stay hotel will also accept you for one night. Clean, perfectly maintained, friendly staff, comfortable beds, etc etc. We have stayed in many Marriott branded hotels. This is our favorite so far.

"Customer service and the way all the employees take care to make you feel comfortably at ease."
erkaplan2, 20 Janvier 2020

Extremely helpful in every way. Easy access to all amenities plus a homey feel to the backyard. The lobby can be an extension of your living room. The breakfast has something for everyone and is available to the early bird or regular breakfast hours.

"An excellent value i. Santa Barbara"
dhembroff, 20 Janvier 2020

Well groomed ground, helpful and cheerful staff, good breakfast, and cookies in the evening. What's not to like. Their shuttle broke down so they reimbursed me for cab fair from the airport and arranged for a return cab to the airport at their expense.

"Great stay all around!"
littlebeeba, 07 Janvier 2020

Beautiful grounds! Great Service, wonderful complete breakfast and great location! It's an old hotel getting a facelift. The bus stop is convenient to hop on a bus and go downtown to explore. restaurants and grocery stores super colse by

"Best breakfast"
Rosemary M, 01 Janvier 2020

This motel has nice remodeled rooms, comfy beds, beautiful courtyard and the best free breakfast of any motel I've stayed at. Excellent restaurant across the street “The Nugget” great food reasonable prices. The only complaint about the room was a rug deodorizer or cleaning solution smell in room. Really smelled and irritated my nose. Had to sit out room but never really got rid of smell. Nice pool and spa very clean.

"Good hotel"
jay379, 04 Décembre 2019

I stayed at the Best Western for 6 nights in August for the BMI Wacubo conference at UC Santa Barbara. Overall the hotel stay was pretty good, and I wanted to give a breakdown of my stay to give a fair and honest review: Rooms: The King room was a comfortable room with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. My gripe about the room is where I was located on the hotel property. My room was on the 3rd floor directly across from the stair well, and the foot traffic was noisy in the morning & late at night. After walking around the hotel grounds, I was amazed how much nicer the hotel grounds are towards the back (and there's an elevator). I was really busy with the conference though, and I didn't want to hassle moving my room, but after 6 days it started becoming a nuisance. Be sure to request a room AWAY from the stair well. Breakfast: The breakfast at this Best Western was just OK. Pancake maker, egg squares for sandwiches, sausage or bacon, bagels, juice and coffee. It's still nice they offer a breakfast option. Service: The service overall was pretty good, and I have no complaints regarding the staff. We utilized the shuttle one day to get to the University, and the staff who drove us was very nice! Check in and Check out was hassle free. Location: The hotel is in a decent location in Goleta. There are a handful of decent restaurants and a grocer within walking distance (check out the Pho bowl place at Goleta Plaza, Amazing Pho Bowl). If you are conducting business in Santa Barbara Or at the University, I highly suggest a car to get around. Price: Staying in this area of California is always pricey, and I found the hotel price to be fair with other hotels in the area. Overall my stay at this Best Western was pretty good, and I was satisfied with my stay. I will probably be back at this conference next year, and I will definitely consider staying here again.

"Good location"
meJami, 01 Décembre 2019

Location is good and less expensive than in Santa Barbara. Short drive and the community is quiet. Nice hotel design and the pool is warm. Breakfast is good and wifi is fast! Just hope the two queen beds room have more space and the TV would have a guide or it can connect to the internet

"Home away from home"
terikim, 24 Novembre 2019

The reception was warm and inviting. The people at the front desk were very helpful. They had coffee and tea available upon our arrival. The room was nice and spacious. The room had a refrigerator and coffee. Breakfast was delicious and a nice variety. The gym was located next to the laundry room which made it nice to do laundry while working out. Pool area was accessible and clean. They also had a long pong table which was an extra perk. I will definitely stay here the next time I visit my daughter.

"Relaxing atmosphere"
Thomas Earl M, 23 Octobre 2019

Very relaxing atmosphere! Nice reasonable food choices nearby. Had excellent reasonably priced prime rib dinner at nearby Nugget! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pool area is beautiful as is the mountain view!

"Best value in Goleta, great location!"
W4302DRdavidk, 20 Octobre 2019

I travel into the Goleta area frequently for business and have stayed at this Best Western many times, they consistently offer a good value and a pleasant atmosphere. I've compared some others in the area and I always find that this location provides the best travel value for our company. They have a beautiful garden area and it's certainly not your typical Best Western.

"it was okay, fine. beautiful gardens. expensive."
tucsonfolks, 14 Octobre 2019

room is clean and comfy. nice shower and great lotion amenities. amenities had a wonderful fragrance. was hoping they sold them. very nice location , convenient to the airport. staff was cordial. had problem with tv and they came immediately and replaced it. only downside... the rooms are expensive- advertised free full breakfast. if you like powered or frozen eggs, this is the place for you.

"Confortable stay"
paulomm2014, 10 Octobre 2019

This is a nicely decorated and well maintained hotel, with an excellet breakfast served every morning. .Staff was hepfull. They rapidly provided a thinner pillow upon our request. It is a good option for a stay during a Big Sur drive

"A great resort for any purpose"
Navigate02144480591, 02 Octobre 2019

A wonderful experience. Great location, most convenient room amenities and wonderful breakfast. The staff are very helpful and every piece of equipment in the room is working perfectly. Big TV screen with many channels and high speed internet make your stay enjoyable.

"Happy campers"
Alisa E, 30 Septembre 2019

My friend and I were there for one night but we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and courtyard area. The room was probably the quietest I've enjoyed and the breakfast offered plenty for everyone. This is the second Best Western I have stayed at in the last few years and I have not been disappointed yet.

"Spendy but nice room"
andydecker2019, 30 Septembre 2019

4 stars on quality, 2.8 on price. $275 total cost in off season, in Goleta, is a bit steep. But room was fine and clean. Close to UCSB. 10min from Santa Barbara proper. Next trip might step up in hotel if price is about the same.

"Good value and convenient to UCSB"
Jill C, 23 Septembre 2019

Clean and comfortable if a bit old fashioned. The pool is beautiful and the landscaping is gorgeous. Very convenient for parents visiting UCSB. Front desk people wee very nice. Gym and laundry were also nice to have

"Sub par"
Aimee M, 03 Septembre 2019

As a gold Member I expected a lot better service. The room was filthy from the start. The shower was dirty and looked as if it had nor been cleaned, there was no water pressure and the toilet kept backing up. The air conditioning did not work all weekend either. to top it off we returned from a night out only to find out neither of our keys worked. There was barely any parking yet we had to go all the way back to the front desk to get new keys and didn't receive an apology or explanation as to why. I will not be staying here again.

"Nice Modern Rooms"
akanui3, 26 Août 2019

We were assigned to a handicap accessible room. It seemed larger than the other rooms and was very spacious and comfortable. Not sure how we scored one but would like to stay in it again. The AC worked well to cool down a warm night. Could not find a TV guide to save our lives.

"Best Western Plus was the Best"
msabla248880, 14 Août 2019

I was able to check in earlier to drop off my things and spend more time with family. The front desk was very organized, friendly, and courteous. Breakfast was good the patio area was a beautiful area to have breakfast.

"Goleta Garden"
jlebsack, 13 Août 2019

This Best Western Plus has lovely grounds , pool and hot tub. Rooms are large with nice amenties. Rooms are very clean. Check in staff did not seem motivated at all, kind of a sense of weariness. Pool seemed salty and spa ( hot tub) was unusable. Very few lounge chairs available for the amount of guests present. I expect a pool and spa to be maintained to highest health standards. We stayed there because of the pool/spa and found them not up to par. The room was quite, comfortable mattress and impeccably clean. So it was a 50/50 experience.

"Secret place "
MaayanLior, 10 Août 2019

I arrived for a business trip and stayed for 2 nights. Check in/ out was easy & fast. Breakfast was good. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I had all I was needed in terms of amenities. The property was clean and quiet with nice pool and good WIFI. The price was fair and I was happy with the service. Thank you!

"Hidden garden & pool, nice location"
ZoomLady, 30 Juillet 2019

I stayed two nights as part of a work trip. Since it was to be all work and no play, I chose this quieter location outside of Santa Barbara with free parking, an included breakfast and the promise of a decent stay since it's a Best Western. I was pleasantly surprised that the garden and pool were so pretty, and hidden inside the hotel's courtyard (better than swimming next to an alleyway or street). The breakfast was fine for what I needed and there was enough eating spaces inside--including bar seating with power outlets--and outdoor cafe tables. The room was your average Best Western: decent bed and furniture, as-expected bathroom, and pleasant service. I'd stay again the next time I am in SB for work. Note that if you don't want to fight the crowds at the original Habit Burger in SB, go to the one in Goleta, which has an old-timey walkup dairy bar feel to it with outdoor seating and some free parking in back.

"Great pool, beautiful gardens, great room, rubbish breakfast!"
awhite342706, 26 Juillet 2019

Hotel is very nice, staff very helpful. Gym was ok, pool Was really big and warm and the gardens were beautiful. The DVD player didn't work and the breakfast was basic and poor and not healthy-like all American hotels unfortunately.

"Loved it"
ochoabriones, 17 Juillet 2019

We decided to stay here because it was close to U C Santa Barbara my daughter had orientation there, room was very clean and the complimentary breakfast was pretty good I was really surprise, we will definitely be staying here when we come to visit our daughter.

"Mon-Thurs "happy hour""
Amberworks, 03 Juillet 2019

This hotel was comfortable and quiet. They do a 2 hour happy hour from 6-8 (at least while I was there). They had a few local beers and some wine free of charge and some snacks to go along with it like a cheese plate, veggies and chips w/ salsa. The breakfast was decent and all the staff I dealt with were extremely pleasant and helpful. The shower had good pressure and wasn't placed too low. The bed was comfortable but the pillows I had could have been replaced. Not a big deal to me.

"Very comfy bed, nice room, pretty grounds"
MABOC, 30 Juin 2019

Stayed here for a night while visiting family in the area. Up-to-date decor with great bed and big shower. Quiet inside, but near freeway so outdoors has some freeway noise (not bad at all and no visibilty to freeway). Pool and grounds are pretty and pleasant. We usually stay at the BW Peppertree on State, but I like this better in some ways, especially the bed and decor. It's a BW Plus, but toiletries (no shower cap, Q-tips, etc) and such did not feel like it. Overall, great stay.

"Lovely BW Near UCSB/Beach"
MedicalADAGuest, 21 Juin 2019

My guest, prescribed service canine, + I stayed 1 night following a diagnostic medical appt in Ventura before returning to Bakersfield in the hot, polluted CA Central Valley. Our stay was a couple days before the motel was booked for the nearby UCSB June graduation ceremony. I received outstanding service from Front Desk Rep, Julia, w/ selecting the date for our stay in a non officially ADA room but still accessible + safe, quiet, 1st floor room w/ 2 queen beds + a walk in shower w/ built in safety grab bars near the jacuzzi + pool. Julia also came to the rescue when repeatedly confirmed to be available + served bacon at breakfast was claimed by the server/cook to have not been ordered + not available. Julia had the cook prepare a plate (!) of bacon which which she kindly offered to have brought to our room. I had another worsening rough night in chronic severe to frequently excruciating/unbearable pain 24/7, 365 days/year which began >20 yrs ago, just after I completed my MS degree, was looking fwd to a "big" raise as a public school Spec Ed Teacher who worked 90+ hrs/wks + also completed 3 teaching credentials plus worked as a Lifeguard + Swim, Fitness, Dance, Yoga, Alpine Ski, + Recreation Instructor after also being a Top 10 USA Olympic hopeful: S So not being able to move in/out of bed, sleep, care for myself, teach, be financially + physicallly independent +/or live in a safe area in the home I was about to buy, + explore more of this beautiful world makes something as goofy as the promised availability of bacon @ the Best Western breakfast buffet + my enjoyment of its taste more important. Julia had the cook prepare a plate (!) of bacon + bring it to our room. I was so appreciative but felt badly for the other baconless guests. Our breakfasts also included Denver Omelets, sausage for my BF, flavored yogurt, reg or decaf + that thick flavored coffee w/ scones + muffins, + juice. We especially enjoyed the beauty of the landscaped grounds w/ topiary, the blissfully comfortable covered patio furniture w/ pillows by the pool/jacuzzi area + more cushioned furniture in a separate covered patio area w/ a ping pong table (not used.) The jacuzzi had a button inside it so no one has to get out to start the jets again. Awesome! Julia noted my request for a late check out + Mgr, Kristen, approved it. This allowed me to take a nap after a night of pain (otherwise we'd have slept well,) enjoy the jacuzzi, + shower. The WiFi + TV worked well.

"Lush and Lovely"
Reviewee, 21 Juin 2019

The grounds are lush and beautifully manicured. I felt that I was at a lovely resort. The outdoor jacuzzi was set at a perfect temperature, with good jets. There are benches set in the gardens which allow for privacy and a bit of solitude. Breakfast

"Beautiful Best Western"
G G, 13 Juin 2019

I always enjoy my stay at this Best Western. We have stayed many times. They are currently installing an elevator. The grounds are always lovely, clean and well kept. The price is a little high, but that is the area. They are lower priced than similar hotels in the area. I wish they had bathtubs with the showers, but the shower is very nice. The pillows are VERY plump. I prefer a smaller pillow so I usually bring one when I stay at this Best Western. Unfortunately, I forgot it this time.

"Nice hotel for a getaway"
kleetz2015, 12 Juin 2019

Beautifully landscaped grounds and beautiful pool area! Room was updated and very clean. Beds were comfortable. You will find places to eat within walking distance. It felt very secluded and peaceful. Breakfast is provided with a wide variety of muffins, pancakes, fruit, and bacon along with juices and coffee.

"The aroma of the jasmine hedges is amazing!"
cigcig, 30 Mai 2019

I arrived after midnight. In the dark, I walked the perimeter sidewalk to my room. The enticing aroma of the jasmine hedges was almost overwhelming. I was very tired, yet the aroma was soothing. The next morning, I admired the landscaping -- so many blooming plants. The room was comfy -- lots of outlets is always a great feature. The bathroom is a small footprint, but sufficient. And the breakfast was great! A wide variety of cereal, yogurt, muffins, fresh fruit -- all tastey and easy to grab.

"A good spot for families"
css1983, 30 Mai 2019

Double room was comfortable to fit a family (assuming kids share a bed), including a rolling crib. Newly renovated rooms and lobby, and a nice looking pool (too cold outside for us to use on this trip). Staff was friendly, but the cleaning crew came by our room around 815am asking if we wanted service, which is just a bit too early.

"“Go To Hotel”"
GlobeTrotting778510, 28 Mai 2019

Our family stayed at the Best Western South Coast Inn as part of a spring break trip on the California Central Coast. We have stayed here many times and it is our “go to hotel” for the Santa Barbara area. The South Coast Inn has a lot going for it. It is conveniently located in Goleta close to the beaches and UCSB. They really maintain this property well. Everything is clean and up to date. The grounds and pool are really nice. Our room, while a little on the small side, was modern, clean and attractive. It was both internally and externally quiet. There was no road noise from either Calle Real or US 101. The South Coast serves a rather average hotel breakfast in the morning. Some of the hot dishes were okay at best. They added a pancake machine which spits out some decent pancakes in about 2 minutes. I wish they served more fresh fruit! While the breakfast room was a little crowded, there was also plenty of outdoor seating. Finally, the staff was friendly and helpful. Since it is our “go to hotel” we will be staying here again.

"Quiet comfortable and beautiful setting."
mariposa67, 27 Mai 2019

We spent one night at this best Western plus in Goleta to help my younger brother celebrate his 70th birthday. This location gave us easy access to the restaurant in downtown Santa Barbara. It was also far enough away that it was very quiet even though 101 and a train track was close by. We requested a room in the back of the hotel and heard nothing all night long. The hotel is just two stories and it is quite large. It is set on lovely grounds with colorful flowers. It was raining the night we stayed so the only Slightly negative thing was that the breakfast room was totally filled up the next morning and it is not quite large enough to accommodate all the guests. Usually the guest filter outside to have breakfast when the weather is good which is most of the rest of the time. However it was quite crowded and the breakfast was nothing unusual in fact the toasted English muffins were probably the best. We also got a very good price for the night due to the fact we are best western loyalty club members. The beds were very comfortable and the climate control was quite good.

"Pleasant Surprise!"
Firedog62, 16 Mai 2019

This hotel was a surprise to us. We did not expect the lovely lobby area, pool, courtyard, breakfast, or the comfortable room. Great place to hang your hat for a few days or just a night. A wonderful surprise for a reasonable price. We will be back!

"Rating of property"
Navigator33675804788, 14 Mai 2019

Well worth the price. Rooms are nice, comfortable and clean. A good variety of breakfast. Property clean, Staff very friendly and helpful. You can earn points each time you stay there. Great location - in the middle of Santa Barbara and Goleta. Near beaches and shopping centers

"Dirty linens"
YCNEM, 13 Mai 2019

I have been staying in this hotel due to closeness to stores and restaurants. I my so many stays here, the front desk staff has never been friendlier or welcoming. When I checked in at 02:00 am ( I paid for an extra night due to very early check in), I noticed a hair strand and a yellow stain in the pillow. My thought was, they never replaced the linens . I called front desk but was told , there was no staff to help me change the linens.

"Very nice Hotel"
Jennifer2442, 30 Avril 2019

We were in Goleta for a memorial service. This is a lovely, quiet hotel with pretty grounds. Breakfast was included which is always nice. The rooms were very comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

"Nice hotel"
DayTrip37179604156, 30 Avril 2019

I needed a place to stay while transiting SBA. This was easiest to Uber to and price was fair. Hotel was clean and nice. The free breakfast was decent. The bed was nice and soft with plenty of extra pillows; always appreciative for that.

"Amazing overall stay!"
Shirley M, 28 Avril 2019

We stayed here for the weekend and were impressed with everything. After reading some of the terrible reviews, it is apparent the hotel has gone thru a remodel. We thought the hotel was a great! The rooms are good but the shower is great. The spa was hot and the pool is heated. Breakfast had a lot of options. The grounds and garden nicely done. I loved the nice indoor and outdoor seating areas, plants, fountains, topiaries and flowers!!

"Very nice!"
Jet16372035823, 22 Avril 2019

Beautiful property, nice rooms, great showers! Property & rooms were clean. Parking was easy and convenient. Easy to find hotel and close to 101 freeway. Very pleased with my stay here. If I had to give a criticism, probably would be not close to shopping if you need to get anything but they do have a small “gift” shop.

"natural beauty"
Mark N, 21 Avril 2019

landscaping around hotel and in large courtyard was (is) VERY attractive. one might have thought you were in Hawaii. quite impressive! breakfast area was set up quite nicely with a great view of courtyard-pool area and outdoor seating available.

"Great SB Hotel"
Sara F, 14 Avril 2019

Very clean updated room, friendly staff, beautiful landscaping & pool/hot tub area! Breakfast buffet had indoor & ourdoor seating options which made breakfast very relaxing. Great value for your dollar!

"Excellent Customer Service"
bfinamore76, 11 Avril 2019

Robert Arias, the chief of housekeeping, went out of his way to send me the business suit I left behind at the hotel. He took it immediately to UPS and sent it by overnight express mail so I could have it to give a presentation the following. I very much appreciate this fast and friendly customer service!

"Home away from home"
catshow, 08 Avril 2019

With only one snafu that the internet service was out for a day, I loved staying here. The rooms are clean, the food is good, and the ambiance friendly. And even though I was on a main corridor, the rooms were quiet and the bed very comfortable. I slept like a baby!

"Nice bang for the buck"
NorthStar43503394674, 05 Avril 2019

Really nice property. Very close to everything. Rooms are newly remodeled and very very nice. Breakfast is served and there are lots of choices for all. Pool, jacuzzi, very relaxing patio area with water fall pond perfect for meditation and quiet breakfast.

"Could have been perfect"
308itziks, 04 Avril 2019

Everything was as expected. Nice and clean room, good location, pleasant atmosphere. One thing spoiled the party: A vent in the bathroom is very noisy and can not be turned off! Even with the door closed it was a bothersome.

"Best local hotel for the money!!"
me2pern, 08 Mars 2019

Excellent service and amenities, with cleanliness and tranquility. For the price, an excellent value, as most if not all amenities at the other big brands were available. Close to many area businesses, shuttle service available, and less than a block from multiple dining and shopping opportunities. The gym facilities were all available and in good condition and the room itself spacious and well kept. Love the gardens and pool/jacuzzi area!

"Three Dandy Nights"
jandago, 29 Janvier 2019

Our ground floor two-queen bed room was clean, comfortable, and afforded us a lovely stay. The grounds are attractive and well-kept with interesting green spaces with topiary. Nice pool area and patio outside the breakfast room. They serve a complete and tasty breakfast from 6:30-9:30am, in a spacious area with a variety of seating configurations. Every staff person we met was helpful, friendly, and focused on making our stay as pleasant as possible. We liked the convenient location to Hwy 101 and shopping and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We would definitely stay there again when in the area.

"Good but not Great"
pennstateshah, 12 Janvier 2019

This Best Western is close to the Santa Barbara airport...and that is why we chose to stay here. It's nothing fancy...seems more like a motel then your standard Best Western. They offer a shuttle van to and from airport but it only runs from 7am to 10pm. But they will help coordinate a taxi during off hours. The rooms were okay. The floors were super dirty to the point if you were barefoot, you would have black feet. Outside of that, the rooms are standard on what you would expect to have in there. The rest of the room appeared clean. They do have a complimentary breakfast buffet. It was super crowded when we stayed there and seating was hard to get. Breakfast was a good touch though since not everyone provides that. The staff was really friendly and so no complaints there. I would stay here again knowing what I know just for the proximity to the airport and the staff.

"Love this Hotel!!!"
Danielle G, 09 Décembre 2018

This is our go-to hotel when we are in Santa Barbara. Our daughter just transferred to UCSB, so we will be making numerous trips down south. The hotel is VERY clean and staff has always been very friendly and helpful! The continental breakfast is the best one we have had. We will definitely continue to come here for all future visits.

"Fantastic overnight stay"
Mary63sir, 21 Novembre 2018

We only stayed one night but could have easily spent a couple of nights here if we had the time. Clean room, nice decor, block-out blinds and super comfy beds. Beautiful gardens with topiary trees shaped into different animals. The gardeners here seem to do an impeccable job. Loved the heated pool and spa. Generous breakfast as well. Hotel is really close to many eateries too. Would definitely stay here again.

"Great Accomodation Experience"
Glenn F, 21 Novembre 2018

This was a very nice hotel experience. Large clean room with all the amenities. I only stayed one night but it felt comfortable and nice. The room had a large TV with will all the stations in front of the bed. The shower was nice with a generous supply of water. I left for a flight before breakfast started and the airport was less than 10 minutes away.

"Very Nice Santa Barbara Experience at Good Price."
JARSantaCruz, 06 Novembre 2018

For a standard motel price this place delivers in nicely upscale way: decor, amenities, service, pool. Someone obviously cares about having a quality place not just getting the most from their investment dollar. Very highly recommended.

"UCSB parent"
Meg E, 05 Novembre 2018

Family weekend accommodations we're lovely as usual! Decent, hot breakfast. Gorgeous grounds. Helpful staff. It's close to campus, so my we can bring my son back to the hotel to play a board game or two before returning him easily to campus.

"Very Comfortable Stay"
hlfnelson5, 08 Octobre 2018

Stayed the weekend to visit with daughter going to School in the area. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast we good and had many options. The overall appearance of the hotel and the layout was easy to find yourself around.

"Excellent choice"
Jim S, 28 Septembre 2018

In Goleta, easy Rt 101 access to downtown Santa Barbara. One of the more reasonably priced hotels in the area. Beautifully landscaped grounds. Outstanding breakfast including pancakes, eggs, sausage/bacon, hot/cold cereals, muffins, pastries, etc.

"Very comfortable and good value"
mmmySouthCoast, 17 Septembre 2018

The first thing the receptionist said to us was that she would upgrade us to a suite to give us more room as there were three of us, fantastic! In fact the room on its own would have given us plenty of room, it was very large but having the sitting room as well was definitely a bonus. The heated pool area has a very nice hot tub and plentiful towels. At the beginning of September we had the pool to ourselves so no struggle to get a lounger. An added bonus is that this hotel has a small laundry room with two washer and two dryers which cost very little, ideal for a mid holiday clothes wash. My only gripe is not with the Hotel but with the Hotel chain, why do they use paper plates and plastic cutlery cutlery? There isn't even any pretence at recycling and as I can't eat gluten I really needed to take my own cereal and bread. Shame, it was the only thing that let this hotel down.

"Excellent base for the Santa Barbara region."
Excursion262663, 08 Septembre 2018

English family holiday, 3 nights stay, lovely hotel, very nice landscaped gardens, good , well managed breakfast. Best hotel over a two week stay (6 hotels in total). Easy access to the freeway, Santa Barbara etc. Hotel management very good.

"Good Stay"
Staciat15, 08 Septembre 2018

This was one of the better Best Western's that I have stayed at. We really did not spend much time in the room, but the room was perfect size and the bathroom as well. Would stay here again! You are about 10 minutes from the Funk Zone, which is the downtown area that has all the winery tasting rooms and food.

"Spacious room, large car parking, decent breakfast and good swimming pool"
kamathrk, 31 Août 2018

Rooms are really spacious. It is a large property with good car parking space. breakfast is decent. close to restaurants and shopping nearby. Pool facing rooms are good. good for a family . only thing i did not like about the hotel is if the room is located far side of the hotel, them you have to walk around the hotel to get to you room,

"Nice place to stay"
Esther E, 21 Août 2018

Nice hotel. Best Best Western! Clean, friendly staff, very nice outdoors and pool area. Loved it had laundry available. Breakfast was great too! No charge for parking. Close to UCSB. Reasonable rates. Will stay here again

"Great but bring your own pillow"
cactusgal123, 10 Août 2018

Great clean hotel. Breakfast was what you would expect from Best Western, filling but nothing special. The only bad item were the pillows. All 4 I had were lumpy and uncomfortable, bring your own if you have the ability to.

"Great for a short stop over"
Vonge47, 09 Août 2018

We were in Santa Barbara for 1 night so this was perfect. Family room with a king size bed and good quality pull out sofa bed for our two teenagers. Really quiet, really clean. Breakfast was tricky as there weren't enough seats so it ended up being quite chaotic, only one member of staff filling up the eggs. We spent a couple of hours by the pool which was lovely and we had it all to ourselves for some time so was really nice, got busy later. Parking excellent and really near the room. Beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel and Trader Joes down the road if you prefer to make your own food- micro wave oven in the room plus fridge.

"Convenience, comfort and caring staff"
kmc2day, 09 Août 2018

I travel on business a few times a year to visit U.C. Santa Barbara. I always stay at this Best Western. It has immaculate landscaping, comfortable rooms and decent breakfasts. The staff is responsive and helpful. And the fresh-baked afternoon cookies are always nice!

"Nice Hotel/Inn"
Terri-Anne R, 06 Août 2018

My family stayed here while doing the scenic Pacific Coast Highway Drive. So it was just a quick 1 night stay for us. The staff at check-in and check-out was very nice. The rooms are nice. Can definitely tell the bathrooms were redone but more in a cover up the old kind of way. This inn does have the doors on the outside. Included breakfast was good. Seating is inside and outdoors, but could use more. Definitely a clean hotel. Even saw maintenance cleaning the parking lot lamps in the morning. I would recommend this hotel for it's convenient location to the coastal highway.

"Outstanding Landscaping"
Richard B, 04 Août 2018

We had stayed here many years ago and based on TA reviews and our experience we stayed here again. We really had a great experience. The room was large with a nice bathroom and lots of storage space. The bed was excellent. The breakfast buffet was good with many choices of hot and cold food and even a pancake maker. The person servicing the food area was hard working and pleasant. The outside of the hotel was awesome with super landscaping and greenery everywhere. Also very clean and tidy. The free WiFi was slow. All in all we loved our experience and would definitely stay here again.

"Beautiful hotel in a beautiful town."
Christianita D, 19 Juillet 2018

we had a pleasant stay, the hotel is beautiful and closed to everything (4 miles from UC Santa Barbara, 6 miles from Santa Barbara downtown. The room is rather dark, but very comfortable and clean. Great value for the price.

"Great stay"
Rosie J, 17 Juillet 2018

We loved this Best Western. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms clean and have everything you need. Pool is great as is the breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's a great location - feels safe. We were very happy with our stay.

"Worth while the stay"
Dany V, 15 Juillet 2018

Its a confortable hotel, friendly staf, big rooms, a gym, a tasty breakfast, and wi-fi. It also has a pool. This hotel is located 8 km from Santa Barbara, if you have a car its worth the difference in price.

"Great location, price and service. Yummy breakfast!"
travelingmom22, 12 Juillet 2018

I was in Sanra Barbara for a conference st UCSB. This hotel was perfect for my needs. They have a nice outdoor garden with tables and chairs and s pool. Breakfast options were plentiful. Egg fritata, hard boiled eggs, yogurt pancake machine, bagels, toast, muffins, fresh whole fruit. I used the business center to print a document for free and the wifi was strong.

"South Coast Go Inn"
j3mmr71, 09 Juillet 2018

Stopped here for one night. Booked the room through a 3rd party and had no problems. Checked in sometime after the 3 o'clock check-in time. After stepping out for lunch we went for a swim in the pool. It felt good on that day. Temps were in the mid to upper 80's so the cool water refreshed. The hot tub was nice to although I could only find a emergency shut off for the jets but no actual "on switch". The Inn is close to lots of strip malls with a plethora of choices for shopping and dining; many are within a reasonable walking distance too. The free continental breakfast was a good way to start the day. Eggs, sausage, muffins, pancakes, cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruits, juice milk or coffee, and some assorted pastries. Our room was on the second level and outside opposite the pool so it was pretty quiet thru the night. Didn't notice any neighborly noise. Really only thing noticeable was the passing trains tooting their horns, which were about every once or twice every/other hour or so that passed thru on tracks in the area. Room was clean and beds were comfy enough. Our Monday night cost was $263 for 3 adults and 1 child. Overall a pleasant stay and would happily return.

"Moved hotels to Best Western"
Roxie B, 09 Juillet 2018

Very large room, excellent amenities and towels were great. Very impressed with the landscaping and grounds. Breakfast was fantastic and clean. We had originally chosen Motel 6 and for just a few dollars more, this is much better place to stay.

"Decent Hotel, but good value."
Will T, 08 Juillet 2018

Only issue I have is that it is very loud with a room on first floor. Beds were nice and cozy, but it was a bit dirty. The rooms were smaller than expected (stayed in a double queen room) but the bathroom was nice and felt fresh.

"Depressing, dirty"
FoodAllergyFamily, 07 Juillet 2018

We arrived 20 minutes before the official check in time. Our room was not ready; that's understandable. However, to tell me that I need to wait another hour before the room would be ready? That is ridiculous. From poor service, to the cockroaches and the filthy floor inside the room, this hotel was an extremely depressing end to our vacation. We stayed one night and did not even bother to stay for the included breakfast the next morning. The kids woke up by 5, and everyone was ready to leave. Needless to say, we will not stay here again.

"depressing"
gglnyc, 09 Juin 2018

We expected that the "plus" in the name of the hotel would justify the cost of the room--it would be worth the money. You wouldn't want to leave the room first thing in the morning and come back as late as possible so you wouldn't have to stay in it any longer than necessary. But no. The lighting is horrible--the worst compact florescent lights available that have the worse ambient light quality that you can get. We've never stayed in a hotel this poorly lit. It's harsh and yet dim light, so dim that I had to use my iPhone flashlight to see inside my suitcase. The bathroom light was a joke--it was close to dark in there. No amenities. It was so depressing to be in this room. A tiny window, so no natural light, and the window doesn't open. It's just the cheapest construction in everything. The shower didn't get hot. The room size is fine, there's a mini-frig and microwave which we always appreciate, but you walk in the door and you feel like you're in a dump. It was just a depressing place to stay on vacation, and way overpriced.

"Great value"
susanwilliama, 27 Mai 2018

Wonderful location close to the airport and town. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast is outstanding. I wish we could have stayed longer. I love the courtyard and pool.

"stay here!"
jenniferbV5868OX, 20 Mai 2018

Breakfast, amenities, grounds, rooms all awesome! Enjoyed the topiaries, pool and spa clean, and pool towels aplenty. Food selection, and freshness great! Lobby inviting, with a few different areas to hang out, watch t.v. or review local restaurants.

"Nice hotel, nice staff, highly recommended"
timothyg, 20 Mai 2018

I recently stayed here for five days and had a great time. The rooms are big, clean and QUIET, which is important. There's a good workspace in the room, if you need it. And the breakfast is complimentary and generous. It's in a great location, close to the freeway and with restaurants within walking distance. I will definitely stay here again.

"Goleta Hotel"
Shaer460, 23 Avril 2018

Very clean and nice! great location! Easy to get to and close to some shopping and grocery stores. Close to the 101 for easy on and off the freeway. Nice staff, the breakfast is okay, if you like pancakes and cereal.

"Goleta trip"
Gerald H, 23 Avril 2018

Everything in the Santa Barbara area is overpriced, so this is probably one of the best values in Goleta. Nearby restaurants, shops, and grocery within walking distance and easy access to Hwy 101. Nothing fancy here, but clean and enough to keep you satisfied during your stay (pool, hot tub, business center, gym, in-room WiFi, 24-hour coffee in the lobby).

"Great place to stay!"
804sjones, 16 Avril 2018

Very Clean, property is managed well. Will stay here again. Very good location to beach, downtown Santa Barbara, business locations, food, shopping, and attractions. Pool area and other features of the hotel were also a plus.

"Beautiful grounds; hot breakfast"
tutorga, 14 Avril 2018

Pros: * Beautifully landscaped grounds, including whimsical topiary * Comfortable bed * Outdoor eating areas and pool * Hot breakfast includes bacon or sausage, and cappucino maker * Good location * Some good views from room, but since they're on external corridors, you have less privacy with curtains open * Always 2 clerks at front desk so little wait time Cons: * Breakfast utensils (sturdy paper plates and plastic cutlery) all go into trash and are bad for environment * Eggs are always the flat pre-made omelets, which get rubbery when cool * Oatmeal is instant variety, but there are cranberries and almonds to add

"Clean and comfy"
Raymie L, 11 Avril 2018

I had an overall good experience. It was clean, fairly updated, beautiful grounds, quiet, and had a very comfortable bed. The staff was really nice and professional. Didn't have the breakfast but it looked like it was well stocked with simple quick breakfast items. I would stay again.

"BW Goleta"
Michael F, 09 Avril 2018

OK - nice location but I felt way overpriced for early April. This price ($300 + )would get a decent room in say London at this time of year. Poor value granted lack of facilitiies (no restaurant or bar). Breakfast ok but generic and far from healthy (ie the norm). Room was comfortable and reasonably spacious.Like most US motel rooms it was dark and poorly lit. Evidently the hospitality industry in the US has not yet discovered LED bulbs.

"Quiet, close to amenities"
rbailey2002, 08 Avril 2018

Wanting to spend time in Santa Barbara but not finding an affordable room, we chose to stay here. The garden and outdoor facilities were excellent. We also chose not to rent a car for our entire stay and took the local bus to Santa Barbara several days. It was very convenient and a lot less expensive than car rental and parking. Breakfast was included and filled us up while tasting good. Lots of families and sports teams were present. Very quiet in the rooms.

"The Definition of an Average Motel"
ChemGeek1, 14 Mars 2018

This is a typical no-frills motel that happens to be situated conveniently close to the University of California Santa Barbara campus and the airport. When I arrived at the airport around 6 pm I called the hotel to ask for the shuttle from the airport. The person at the front desk was somewhere between surly and unhelpful. First he said it would be 30 minutes (it is only 8 minutes driving time to between the hotel and airport), so I said I'd take a cab. Then he said it would be 20 minutes. Eventually he said it would be there in 10 minutes. I hung up and took a cab. Check-in was easy. My room was clean and nicely configured. The problem was there was this high-pitched noise in the room (rm 268) that oscillated in tone and was quite loud. No doubt something to do with ventilation system. It was sufficiently loud that it was necessary to turn on the heater fan to drown it out. This meant there was air blowing around and a fair amount of noise (the HVAC unit is one of those clunky types that sits under a window). For some unknown reason the TV came on during the night and woke me up (very strange). All in all, I didn't sleep much. The breakfast is terrible. Yogurt with ingredient no. 2 being sugar, an espresso machine that dispensed some sweet goo that is undrinkable, some sort of egg thing that looked like a pancake. Basically disgusting for anyone who cares at all what they put in their body. All of this with Fox News blasting in the background. When I tried to print a boarding pass, the computers weren't working. However, the morning desk clerk was excellent and friendly and got one of them fixed pretty quickly. I'm hoping for the best with regard to the shuttle to the airport this morning.

"Lovely and tranquil. Surprisingly good."
fenwayman, 28 Février 2018

I stayed two days that the Best Western Plus South Coast Inn during a work trip to UC Santa Barbara. The hotel is lovely, and more than met my expectations. It's a seriously above average representative of the Best Western Plus brand. The room I was given was large, I am not exaggerating when I say that the bed and pillows were more comfortable than the ones I have at home - I even asked the front desk if they knew the brand of the pillows. And the shower - wonderful. Great water pressure, spacious, and easy temperature controls. The room was clearly designed with the resident in mind. There were ample power outlets, both plugs and USB chargers, on both sides of the bed, and at the desk. The television was large and they provided a channel guide. I got a room that faced the hotel next door and found it quiet - there was not street noise at all. The breakfast was adequate. Not cooked-to-order, but it was easy for me to find enough to eat that was both healthy and gluten free. The hotel grounds are simply lovely. The hotel has a heated pool and outdoor courtyard that is beautiful landscaped with succulent plants and very quiet. I rarely use outdoor space at hotels but I did eat my breakfast and do some work out there. The front of the hotel is also beautiful. It definitely helped make the hotel feel like an oasis from the bustle of the city. If there is one complaint, it's that interactions with the desk staff were sometimes a little off. When I asked about the shuttle that the hotel has and runs as far as the UCSB campus, I got a two minute long dissertation about how each guest was allowed on round trip a day. Clearly, the hotel has had trouble with abuse of the shuttle, I guess, but I had not been an abuser. Similarly, the room safe - it was great to find a safe in my room but it was locked when I arrived - I went to the front desk and asked "when I got to the room the sage was locked - is there a trick to open it?" the clerk answered "Yes". I actually had to ask him what the trick was. This was uncomfortable. But, I did not need much from the staff, and was able to enjoy the grounds and the quality of the room. I will definitely stay here again the next time I need to visit UCSB.

"Reasonable Motel"
TucsonTraveller, 10 Février 2018

I was here on business with UCSB. The hotel is reasonable with good sized rooms and a free shuttle to campus. Breakfast is included and they have hot and cold options: beware, however, that the breakfast omelets are not made to order but those pre-packaged microwaved pieces of rubber that lesser hotel chains use. If I were in the area again, though, I'd check out the Kimpton right next door first.

"Had everything you need"
Nancy M, 10 Février 2018

We stayed here while visiting relatives nearby. The room was huge with a king bed and a sofa. Also a frig, microwave, big screen tv and coffee maker. The breakfast had egg type items, pancakes, yogurt and more. There was a physics meeting so we had fun trying to pick out the physicists. One of the best items was their laundry room. A dollar to wash and another dollar to dry a normal load— much cheaper than a laundry service. The machines were clean and functioned well. This place is very close to the college. My one complaint was that the water from the tap tasted terrible. Luckily they had water in the breakfast area that tasted great and t was available all day.

"Updated for the 21st Century"
MDMensch, 27 Janvier 2018

For a renovated 2-story motel, this may be as good as it gets. Tasteful updates included walk-in shower, bathroom with waterfall faucets, new furniture, and even USB ports -- literally everything is new. While pricey on a late-June weekend, the hotel delivers on great accommodations, spacious rooms, nice pool and an impressive morning breakfast. It also has a small gym and computers with printer as needed.

"Last minute trip"
Linda R, 20 Janvier 2018

Due to road closures I was unsure my trip was going to happen. Last minute I decided to make the long drive around to see my daughters games at UCSB. I arrived and took only place I could find close. I have stayed here years before but they must have upgraded the rooms since my last stay. This is a BW so don't expect a lot of frills but the bed was great I slept like a baby. They offer breakfast too.

"Great Accommodations "
acoachcool, 03 Janvier 2018

This is the first time in a BW Plus. Guest rooms are efficient, with updated electrical units. A pool, hot tub, fitness center, business center, and guest laundry room are available for use. A self serve breakfast is offered each day. What stood out about the South Coast Inn was our room. No signs of needed maintenance. The check in desk always had someone present, usually two people. Housekeeping was busily doing their job, but didn't interfere while doing so. Two things prevented a five star rating. Elevator location was not the best. Our room was on the second level, near the front entrance. However, the elevator access was at the end of the hallway towards the rear of the property. More efficient location would be at the front thus guest wouldn't have to travel the hallway twice to get to a room just steps away from the front. Second, the lobby seating area is small. Neither of these things would prevent us from staying here again. But knowing the layout of the premises, in advance makes for a more pleasant trip. Last bits of praise. Free WiFi, ample parking, restaurants, gas stations, convenient stores and freeway access are all very close. Good job South Coast Inn!

"Okay, but not fantastic"
sthan1972, 01 Janvier 2018

A classic US motel/hotel with the necessary facilities, but nothing extraordinary. Location fine, if you arrive by car, but it is far from Santa Barbara main streets. Breakfast was ok to normal US standard. My sleep was horrible due to a very noisy aircon.

"A Good Hotel in Goleta"
712neily, 01 Janvier 2018

For the record, I am a Best Western Rewards Diamond member and I have stayed in probably 4 dozen Best Western hotels, as well as almost 300 other hotels before I retired. I love getting good reviews and I hate giving bad reviews. This is a good, but not great, review: THE GOOD NEWS - My room was a huge and clean suite--very suitable for a family. - There were more than enough outlets. - The grounds were very attractive and well-kept. - The Lobby area was nice. - Parking was plentiful. - The shower was excellent. - Well located near many restaurants and shopping. - Minutes away from Santa Barbara. - John at the front desk was very helpful. - The breakfast area was well laid and comfortable, except for the doors. - The Pool area was nicely setup. - There was a double vanity with lots of space. - There was a safe in the room. THESE ARE MY NITPICK COMMENTS BECAUSE THIS IS A BW PLUS HOTEL: - It would have been nice if the employees were issued name tags. - The internet was intermittent at times. - The Heater fan was very noisy - I needed to turn it off on a 34 degree night in order to sleep. - The hotel skimped on in-room toiletries. - Old TV remote set-up. - No premium channels. - No area rugs at the vanities. - Very cold floors. - The bed linen was patterned and somewhat uncomfortable. - Some of the breakfast items were just average and not indicative of superior quality - Coffee, Eggs, Breads/ Bagels etc. - There were no pens or writing pads in the room. I had to ask for them at the Front Desk - Thank you, John. - There was no desk in the room only a table without a lamp on it and far from any of the many outlets. I had to move it around the room. - The automatic doors in the breakfast area were too sensitive—opened much too easily especially with 40 degree weather outside . . . and a uncontrolled 5 year old was playing with them one morning. Ultimately, I would recommend this hotel.

"Best Western Plus Hotel"
tatsurok2018, 01 Janvier 2018

This hotel was nice and quiet. Did not know, there was train track near by. But it was only few train passed during our stay. Best Western changed hotel classification. The Plus category are not the same as before.

"Great place to stay"
paulvX2554WV, 31 Décembre 2017

Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Great breakfast! Ilove to stay here when I in Goleta! Convienient to the 101, easy drive into Santa Barbara, Solvang and surounding areas. Great places to eat in the area as well.

"Great amenities at a great price"
mwsb4444, 22 Décembre 2017

The Best Western in Goleta was kind enough to offer us a reduced rate, and even accept our pets, during the evacuations in Santa Barbara due to the Thomas Fire. This is a beautifully managed and maintained hotel. We'll recommend it to our out of town friends!

"Really nice rooms"
Terry M, 20 Décembre 2017

Rooms are good size, recently remodeled and restaurants are close by. Great value for staying in Santa Barbara. Easily accessible to main roads to head downtown or over to wine tasting country. Super nice staff

"Not bad"
doraemonger, 14 Décembre 2017

We arrived quite late at night. Was given a room next to the pool but doesn't matter since it wasn't noisy. Pro - free parking - inclusive of breakfast which were fab - friendly reception Con - insufficient seating during breakfast as it was raining If given a chance, will stay here again.

"Delightfully clean and confortable"
nuggehallyj, 13 Décembre 2017

We spent a good part of three weeks at BW-Goleta before preparing our Santa Barbara home for move-in. We were delighted by the place. It is clean and comfortable and the staff, without exception, were courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet and all-day hot beverage station are both outstanding. Last but not leat are the pool and the Ping-Pong table, set amidst glorious landscaping!

"Great Property"
Bsmyser, 09 Décembre 2017

Very good value, quiet and comfortable. It was convenient to both the airport and what we wanted to do in Santa Barbara. We found good restaurants nearby. We would recommend to property to family and friends. Also, we would stay there again.

"Double Check Your Room Before You Leave"
Limwalle, 07 Décembre 2017

Make sure you double check all drawers, closets, behind doors, behind chairs, etc. before you leave because if you've left something behind, you will NEVER get it back! My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights with a wedding party, so our room was part of a large group blocked for us. It was a very hot weekend and the wedding guests decided to not wear ties, and as several buses were taking all of us to the wedding destination and we were told not to leave any items in the bus, my husband ran back to the hotel front desk and the guy on duty said he'd hold it for us and would put it in a 'safe' place. Well we went to collect it the next morning and it had vanished. They did a thorough search and asked the night guy where he put it but it wasn't there. All that can be deduced is someone on the staff decided they needed that tie. At first they weren't going to help us financially and said they'd notify us if it showed up, but I knew it wouldn't show up. So I was able to convince management it would be in their best interest to comp us a night to cover the cost of the tie. I wasn't going to give them a bad review but then this happened. Okay, an argument could be made that we were should have payed closer attention when we were packing to leave but we left in a hurry, and my husband forgot his suit bag. In it was a very expensive dark navy suit and white shirt. We didn't discover this was missing until my husband went to wear the shirt for a work function and it was missing. We put the shirt missing down to being lost at the dry cleaners. A few weeks later my husband went to wear his suit for another function and it too was missing. Tracing our steps back and looking at pictures from the wedding we realized that was the last time we saw both items. I called the hotel's 'lost and found' and explained the situation and asked if it was in L&F. I wasn't surprised when the guy told me that nothing was logged in as having been found from our room on the dates we stayed there, and no there wasn't a dark blue suit in L&F. I asked him how long they keep items in L&F and he said 60 days. I also asked him if it was policy for the hotel to contact the guest if they found anything left behind in the room, and he said no they don't call the guests; that it was up to the guest to call if they're missing anything! So yes we should have been more aware that we had left the suit bag behind when we unloaded the car, but it was one of those things where my husband thought I had picked it up and put it away and vice versa. I would not recommend anyone staying at this hotel until management can hire honest people who don't help themselves to other people's belongings.

"BW South Coast is the place to stay!"
Denise C, 30 Novembre 2017

Thus BW never disappoints. The rooms and grounds are clean, well kept, user friendly and a great value. The staff is always friendly and professional. This is our go to place to stay and we highly recommend it.

"Wonderful getaway close to Santa Barbara"
Michael g, 25 Novembre 2017

We've stayed here twice in the last two years and really enjoy the experience. Large, clean, comfortable rooms. A lovely patio area with a nice pool and Jacuzzi, lounge areas and even a ping pong table. The breakfast service is excellent - large variety and appetizing choices.

"Quick trip to Santa Barbara"
debrajhughes, 16 Novembre 2017

We made a quick trip to Santa Barbara, had dinner on the pier and went shopping on State street. The hotel was very nice and modern. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful.

"Decent experience for decent price"
ffernandes2017, 13 Novembre 2017

Hotels near the University of California campus tend to be rather expensive. This hotel was very reasonably priced and yet offered good quality service with pleasant helpful staff. Just take you own pillow. Their pillows are awful.

"Best Western Plus South Coast Inn, Goleta, Califrornia"
richardpX6453GZ, 13 Novembre 2017

Excellent stay. Appearance and availability of on-site recreation facilities was very good. The gardens and walkways were beautifully arranged. Street / highway noises could not be heard in the round even though Hwy 101 was within about 200 feet. The staff paid attention to our concerns / needs and took appropriate actions. We will stay here again if ever in the area.

"Love this place!"
destinationdoc, 08 Novembre 2017

This hotel has a great location if you are looking to be close to UCSB campus. The staff are amazing-- fun, polite, and professional. They went out of their way to take care of us. The rooms are great- clean and have all the essentials- coffee in room, refrigerator, microwave, safe. The breakfast was free and had more choices than your typical breakfast. The kind suite was very large and very comfortable. It was not available for our third night. The regular kind room was also very comfortable and well designed. I like the rooms overlooking the pool. Rooms are generally quiet. This will be our "go to" hotel when we visit our child at UCSB. Thank you for making our stay great!

"Wonderful location"
AKW52245, 07 Novembre 2017

This is a great spot only a few miles from the airport. The room was very nice with a refrigerator and microwave. Free breakfast. Lovely pool. Great hot tub. Nice grounds. Ask for pool view. Mountainview might be parking lot. Downside was loud humming the whole time--maybe refrigerator.

"OK place to stay but"
momincv, 06 Novembre 2017

We were in Goleta for a wedding. Out room had ants and the front desk said it was a problem in the area. (our friends live nearby and they don't have an issue) Two nights sharing our room with ants, a beetle and two spiders wasn't my idea of fun. Skip breakfast, nothing great. Good if you have a team traveling I guess. I contacted the manager after our stay as she was off duty. She was very understanding and apologetic and even refunded part of our stay.

"Beautiful!"
Charlene H, 28 Octobre 2017

This is a great place to stay. Close proximity to Santa Barbara and surrounding communities. The breakfast is awesome! So much better than many of the other hotels. The rooms are very comfortable and the grounds are beautiful!

"When in Goleta"
lisak56, 27 Octobre 2017

Nice hotel, great shuttle from the Amtrak station in Goleta. Helpful staff, we needed transportation to Santa Barbara and the one of the staff members offered us discount coupons for Uber and Lift. Wonderful breakfast buffet, quiet room.

"Normally a good pick"
R B, 23 Octobre 2017

Normally this is a good value and great place to stay. I've stayed here multiple times over the years and never had a complaint. This time another story. I was in the back building (rm 254) and each morning in the 7:10-7:30 time period the pipes would start to make a loud noice. Loud enough to wake you up. It sounded like an engine or pump. Front desk said it was the hot water pipes. If I had know this ahead of time I would not have stayed here. Ask about this before booking a room. They also had an issue with vagrants Saturday evening but I think security took care of it I know several people complained about it.

"Avg stay for avg motel"
249randallk, 20 Octobre 2017

Overall, I thought the price was high for this motel. They served complementary breakfast which was nice, but the muffins were dry and had no taste. The hot food was the same the 2 days we were there. The pillows are very hard and we couldn't get a decent nite's sleep. Luckily, we didn't have noisy people as our neighbors, but the walls are thin (heard the maid cleaning the adjacent rooms as if she was cleaning ours).

"Nice hotel"
993gaylem, 19 Octobre 2017

Nice hotel my criticisam is that it seems expensive. I like the area as it is close to relatives house and was convenient. Would have liked a waffle machine for breakfast and maybe hot oatmeal rather than instant packages. Have stayed in places as nice without breakfast but much cheaper in Santa Barbara.

"Hotel stay in Santa Barbara Best Western."
cindyj618, 13 Octobre 2017

Great hotel with reasonable costs. The breakfast is great and the room was beautifully updated and clean. We had a pull out couch bed and my son was able to sleep there in comfort. I really love Best Western hotels for the great value.

"Suprisingly beautiful BW property"
flowerfun, 06 Octobre 2017

I stayed 4 nights for a workshop in the area. The room had been nicely updated & was very comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job, the bedroom & bathroom was spotless. The property is very lush & properly maintained too. They have someone doing whimsical topiary sculpting on many of the mature shrubs. They recently added an elevator for the 2 story buildings. The rooms were virtually soundproof on the second floor. Breakfast was better than most BW. Hot egg & breakfast meats, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal (hot & cold) juice etc. I will say I don't care for the coffee but that was minor. The room has a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee/tea maker and Trader Joe's is just down the street so it's easy to stock drinks & a few snacks. The coastal Caltran track is close by so you do hear the noise a couple times a day but it doesn't run at night. Also be aware that the room rates are much more expensive in weekends. It's an easy drive to anywhere you need to go in Santa Barbara. I would stay here again!

"Beautiful property"
H6271UYcarols, 05 Octobre 2017

This is a beautifully landscaped property and immaculate in every space. Rooms are updated and very comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. Staff is extremely well trained and very customer oriented. Location is great - very close to Santa Barbara but without the high prices. Many great restaurants within walking distance.

"A Stay at Best Western Plus"

Pleasantly surprised at the high level of quality and very reasonable price!! The grounds were impeccably well maintained and all finishes both inside and outside were new. The quality of staff was incredible and morning breakfast was amazing!!

"Great value and location for UCSB"
Gayle G, 30 Septembre 2017

Perfect place to stay if you are visiting your student at UCSB. We even prefer to stay here is visiting Santa Barbara since it is such a user friendly hotel and close to other Santa Barbara attractions.

"expensive lodging"
Stephen S, 27 Septembre 2017

stayed 2 weekends with a 60 day period. It's beautifully landscaped, clean ....the suites are very nice in that both rooms have their own television set, although the options for good t.v. are very limited no good cable channels, way to many sports programs . BUT they do have a decent little library with quality books adjacent to the front desk....the girl on duty though didn't know where it was [right under her nose]there are little reminders of the water shortage and requests to take shorter showers etc. while Jose or Juan washes off the sidewalks EVERY morning stringing his hose unsafely where folks are walking....BREAKFAST is excellent .Little omelets[not "chem-cheese"] bacon of sausage,,,great granola station, yogurts ,hard boiled eggs, muffins assorted teas...milk . oranges ,bananas . BUT again the rooms cvost as much on the weekends as my room in Arendal Norway some years back....i was suprised . quiet

"Beautiful stay"
gregoryt759, 27 Septembre 2017

Hotel is beautiful. Room was very comfortable. Nice location. The gardens were so gorgeous. We took some beautiful pictures. Beautiful pool. Very clean. Breakfast was set up very nice. Loved being able to sit outdoors and enjoy the beautiful gardens. Close to Stearns Wharf in Santa Barbara.

"Wonderful hotel!"
371cwood, 26 Septembre 2017

Gorgeous landscaping and pool area! Very clean and updated room with comfortable bed. Super clean bathroom and shower. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very close to airport and beach areas. Definitely one of the best Best Westerns I've stayed in!

"Pleasantly Surprised"
Joyce N, 23 Septembre 2017

This hotel is very clean with pretty, manicured landscaping, a pool, and jacuzzi. The room was big and comfortable. The included breakfast was very good, with hot and cold options. The staff was nice. The little store in the lobby was well stocked, including wine! The room had a fridge, microwave, safe, CD player, free wifi, iron, hairdryer, and cable TV. I will stay here again and recommend it to family and friends. It's expensive for a Best Western, but not so much for being near Santa Barbara.

"Great place to stay."
DNSarg, 20 Septembre 2017

Moving son into UCSB. I haven't visited Santa Barbara much so wasn't aware of how pricey it is. Best western plus was more reasonable and rated really well. It worked out great. Can't speak to the breakfast since we were up and out early, but I appreciated the topiaries in the gardens and loved how cold the room got. Some places prevent guests from dropping the temperature below 64. BWP allowed down to 62, possibly lower, but I didn't test it. Overall, a great experience.

"Wonderful Surprise!"
Phyllis J, 06 Septembre 2017

This hotel is, by far, the nicest Best Western I have ever visited. The rate was a real deal considering the outrageous prices in Santa Barbara. The breakfast was outstanding and the grounds absolutely beautiful. We will be back to this gem in the future.

"Beautiful Grounds"
Linda G, 02 Septembre 2017

Very nice place in a convenient location. The rooms were laid out well and were very clean. The breakfast was great. What we enjoyed most was the beautiful landscaping. The outdoor area was one of the nicest I've seen. We enjoyed spending time relaxing out there. We plan on going back to Goleta again to visit family and this will definitely be where we stay.

"Nice"
mlbrazeau, 01 Septembre 2017

Very nice motel featuring a nice pool and hot tub. Complimentary breakfast is very nice and the grounds are meticulously groomed. It's a good location just off the highway with a number of restaurants in the area

"This is one of the most beautiful properties"
michaelwD827SH, 01 Septembre 2017

The rooms are great and the courtyard and pool aria are beutifull it's like a tropical resort bust hotel I have stayed at The breakfast is great love during outside in the beutifull seating aria I shouldn't tell anyone about this little gem it's so nice

"Very good hotel in the Santa Barbara area"
205r0bertp, 29 Août 2017

Well managed hotel and an excellent location if you don't mind being a few miles away from the city center. Close drive to downtown and many restaurants and sites. Clean and large rooms are very comfortable. Typical BW breakfast. Friendly staff.

"Great Spot in Goleta"
H7215JLdavidf, 28 Août 2017

The South Coast Inn is our spot when we travel to Santa Barbara. It is a short drive to downtown Santa Barbara and is conveniently located near UC Santa Barbara. The staff is very friendly, the rooms and hotel grounds are very clean, and updated. It is a very good value for families.

"Goleta BW"
Lee M, 26 Août 2017

Newly remodeled inside and outside. Rooms have outside access. If I come again will stay in a room that faces the garden area. There is a hotel next to this one that has live music. That hotel is located on the left side of the hotel as you face the lobby of BW. The interior of the room was just remodeled and modern look. A tad stark for my taste. The lighting in the room wasn't the best. Lots of lights in the room but gave off low lighting. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close to a Trader Joes and activities in Santa Barbara. The price point is a tad better than the other hotels in the area, which are way over priced. I did get a deal by booking the room a month in advance. I did not have breakfast at the hotel. There are great coffee places which are close to the hotel. About 5 min away is Java Junction which is where I went for breakfast.

"Perfectly fine"
Hamzi, 19 Août 2017

I used to stay next door at the Goodland but this hotel is just as fine without the hip vibe and saving $, I preferred to spend elsewhere. Full breakfast included though not my type of options, seating area indoor and outdoor in the garden. It gets packed in the morning. Lovely heated pool (take that Goodland!) and jacuzzi. Will be back next time I visit or drop off my student.

"Best Western, Goleta, CA"
U1992LXdavidw, 14 Août 2017

An outstanding property, well maintained and managed, a little weak on parking capacity, the breakfast pancakes were a real treat. The landscaping was truly outstanding, and the location near the freeway and central business district was helpful

"Clean and Comfortable"
maryoP6670YS, 11 Août 2017

This was only 10 minutes from Santa Barbara, close to UCSB. It was very clean, free WiFi and breakfast included. One of the few hotels in the area that would accept a one night stay during the high season.

"Nice stay, not so nice transportation service"
Travelling_Snoopy, 07 Août 2017

To break my experience down more easily you will find the pro's and cons of my stay below. Pro's - Very clean rooms. - Comfortable beds. - No noise from the road next to the hotel. - Good breakfast (for a free breakfast). - Pleasant front desk personnel. - Shuttle was provided to and from the University and the train station. Cons - During my first night I suddenly smelled cigarette smoke inside of the room. I did not have my AC on and I didn't see anyone smoking in front of my door, but it smelled like someone was. I mentioned this to the front office staff and they apologized for it. - About 15 minutes before checking out, I was taking a quick nap on the bed before doing so, a cleaning lady already cam in the room without knocking to clean the room. I found this strange because the room shouldn't have been marked empty yet, and even if it is empty hotel staff should ALWAYS knock before entering a room. You never know if a guest is still in the room. - My colleague and I had to catch the train back to Los Angeles at a certain time and informed the front office staff about this the day before, this way they knew we would need a shuttle. They said to us that our transportation to the train station would be organized. On the day of departure we were in the lobby since half an hour before the shuttle was supposed to leave. About 10 minutes before the shuttle was supposed to leave we informed the front desk that we were ready to leave already if the shuttle is as well. This was when the front desk informed us that the shuttle was in the shop that day and that they had ordered a taxi for us. We found it strange that they only told us this now but thought it was kind of them to order a taxi for us. Ten minutes later, original time to head to the train station, and still no taxi. As our train departure time was getting closer we got more and more stressed, as 8 minutes before our train left there was still no taxi to be seen. Because of this we had to order our own Uber to the train station and we were able to catch the train just in time. This was very disappointing as it shouldn't be that hard to organize transportation for a car ride of 5 minutes. At least they let us bill them for the Uber ride.

"Liked the grounds"
Mary V, 06 Août 2017

Hotel is very near the airport and there are many local shops and restaurants nearby. The rooms are nothing fancy, but provide a small refrigerator and a microwave. The grounds are really nice. Loved the topiary. Spent time outside reading. Pool and hot tub looked okay, but I did not use.

"Nice Hotel"
juliedX9419VV, 06 Août 2017

Nice Hotel with helpful staff. Quiet. Relaxed in spa and had a full breakfast including waffles, muffins and eggs in the morning. Walking distance to several restaurants.Would recommend for a get away with family or friends.

"Satisfactory experience"
Valerie J, 01 Août 2017

First airport pickup request was ignored so took over an hour to get picked up. Room was clean, but bed comfort just average. Breakfast was okay, but not great. Hotel is conveniently located and walking distance to restaurants and shopping.

"Not sure why all the high ratings"
Cheryl C, 31 Juillet 2017

Well, for my first time at a Best Western I was not impressed. I booked this hotel for a weekend stay while visiting family in Santa Barbara. We don't usually stay at Best Westerns and the rooms were pricey at around $300 a night, but the reviews on trip advisor were all so positive I thought I'd take a risk. Yikes! That was a mistake. This is a motel. The rooms were clean but furnishings very cafeteria grade. Sound travelled through the walls and ceilings very easily. We were in an outside room so people were closing their car doors and beeping their car locks well into the evening. In the morning, the hotel staff was watering plants right outside the windows around 6:30 am which woke our whole family up. Young kids were running around and riding their scooters way too early. Where were the parents? Yelling for them without regard to others trying to sleep. The pillows were rock hard--my husband chose to sleep without one as it was hurting his neck. I travel with my own pillow so did not use theirs. The sofa beds are kid-sized. Don't plan to sleep on it if you are an adult. My 5 foot 2 daughter barely fit on it. In the breakfast area it was a mob scene--literally! The place is way too tiny for that number of guests. People were constantly bumping into each other. The food was mediocre at best and looked as though it all came prepackaged and frozen then microwaved onsite by the sole staff trying to keep things clean (she was nice). Maybe that is how BW does it, but other hotels I've stayed at with similar breakfast set ups had far better food and coffee. The coffee here was really bad. There was nowhere to sit. People were eating on their laps on sofas or taking the food back to their rooms to eat. The center garden was nice. The pool looked nice but we did not use it. If I had to stay there again (which I won't be doing), I would request an interior room in the back of the hotel away from the front lobby and eating area. Hopefully that would mean that there would not be kids running around outside you room early in the morning and you would not hear the cars at night. Won't help the thin walls. Bring ear plugs and your own pillow, and don't expect to enjoy the breakfast--go to Starbucks!

"Great property!"
PixelPrincess_2011, 30 Juillet 2017

I had the pleasure of staying at this property and it was fabulous. The room was nicely appointed t. The beds were comfortable and the room was super clean. Decor is modern. There was even a mini microwave in the room! I loved the soft fluffy towels too! Breakfast buffet was good. The front desk service was top notch. They took good care of me during my stay.

"Trip Advisor booking failure!"
Iveta H, 30 Juillet 2017

I gave hotel good ratings because I stayed there before and it was nice (although very pricey). However, this trip was a disaster. I booked a room in advance through Trip Advisor - they used Get-a-Room agency. When I arrived, hotel staff could not find my booking and no room was available. More people in the lobby were in the same situation. After an hour on the phone with Get-a-Room, we started our 5-hour trip back home. I will never book through Trip Advisor again.

"Nice Hotel, terrible management"
WelisonFloriano, 29 Juillet 2017

We book a room from 3 people and two queen beds several weeks before, using TripAdvisor. When we checked in what we got was a king bed. The hotel management blamed the company that made the reservation (TripAdvisor using Getaroom), saying that they requested a king bed. I called Getaroom and the first time they put me on hold many times and then hanged up on me. The second time they told me that you get what the hotel have available, not what you want! Nice system...Well, I call it scam, because if I knew that they did not have two queen beds I would not have reserved a room there. The hotel itself is pretty good, nice rooms, well located, clean, good wi-fi. The fact that you get what they have, instead of what you book it is a scam. Also, during the booking and the email confirmation there is nothing saying that you get what they have available, it shows what you asked for.

"Nice hotel"
charleshB2131TU, 27 Juillet 2017

Rooms were well equipped and clean. The hotel was in a central location for both Santa Barbara and Goleta. Nice garden courtyard in the middle of the hotel. Breakfast was typical fare and included in the price of the room. My only complaint is that for the size of the room and the type of hotel, the mid-week rate we paid seems a little pricey.

"Good place to stay near UCSB"
isabelh939, 27 Juillet 2017

Convenient to UCSB and well appointed hotel. Restaurants, grocery stores and other business nearby and within walking distance. Easy access to 101 freeway and approximately 15 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara.

"Pleasant stay when visiting Santa Barbara."
dms666, 24 Juillet 2017

My family of four stayed here for a few days in a double-queen bed room, when visiting nearby Santa Barbara. Check-in was quick and easy and we were directed to a better place to park near our room. The hotel is actually configured as a motel, with all doors and windows opening to the walkways. I would've preferred a hotel configuration, with a little more privacy. Free WiFi in the room was good. The pool area was wonderful and we made full use of it during our stay. The pool was clean and warm, there were several loungers (could use some more though), and the hot tub was sufficiently hot. The breakfast was quite nice with several hot dishes available. Check-out was even easier than check-in as the credit card had already been provided. NOISE ALERT: I had no idea about the train that runs through Goleta several times a day (and night). Be prepared to hear a very loud train whistle late at night and early in the morning. A real disruption to good sleep! I found the price to be very high given that it is a Best Western in a small town. This isn't Times Square or Hollywood Blvd. It seemed that most comparable hotels all charge higher prices than similar hotels elsewhere. Location, location, location, I guess. We did enjoy our stay here.

"Well Kept/Upgraded Hotel and Friendly Staff"
James B, 23 Juillet 2017

Staff were wonderful/helpful. The room looked to be recently remodeled. Queen bed was okay, but not firm. Full breakfast in the morning - lots of choices! If you're a "hard core" coffee drinker. . . Yep, go to Peet's and satisfy your urge. We felt safe and enjoyed our stay.

"Surprisingly nice Best Western"
Ajaiiz, 19 Juillet 2017

I'm very impressed and surprised with this place. I was not expecting much from a Best Western motel since my last BW experience in the 80s. However everything about this property is well-maintained, clean, and beautiful. The rooms look like they've been recently renovated, look fresh, have modern furniture, and have a modern-looking décor. The courtyard is beautiful with its pool and gardens—like an oasis in Goleta. Even the lobby is inviting with lots areas to lounge. The breakfast is fair, but there is a lot of food to choose from. One minor issue was that wifi was not always reliable, but it sufficed. While not in the most glamorous part of town, there are a lot of restaurants and shops within short driving distances.

"Great place to stay"
Laura J, 19 Juillet 2017

Room, lobby and grounds are beautiful. Had a comfortable night's sleep. Convenient distance to restaurants. My only complaint is the high cost for 1 night. I used this same hotel in the month of July 4 years ago at nearly half the cost. Not sure what caused the significant increase in the price of 1 room.

"nice clean hotel, but there are less expensive options nearby, shuttle service denied"
lexa, 15 Juillet 2017

nice clean hotel, good breakfast, functional wi-fi with some blind spots... visited with family for a wedding event, picked this one due to advertised on web site free shuttle to local businesses, however upon request the staff told me only affiliated businesses are covered by shuttle... there are comparable in quality but less expensive hotels within 1-2 miles...

"Bit pricy for a Best Western but surprisingly worth the money...."
katubaldy, 11 Juillet 2017

One of the nice surprises when you actually do get what you pay for, when you're out travelling on the road during the 'driving season'. A lot to be happy about with this hotel. An abundance of privacy with a 8-10 foot hedge around most of the property, the standard swimming pool and spa area with a heap of space around the pool for lounging around in the sun. A more than reasonably sized dining area for the totally adequate buffet breakfast and suitable for families and couples on holiday. If you're expecting the next step up to the 4 Seasons and Hyatt chains then expect to be paying another $100 or more per night and the proximity to Santa Barbara is an added bonus and a reminder that this location is in a pricey neighbourhood during the summer months....we stayed in early July. I would recommend this establishment to anyone, anytime of the year who isn't expecting the world for their dollar. More like for folks who can enjoy the simple things on the road when they're done well...

"Nice hotel, clean, nice room but no elevator."
5tanyal, 10 Juillet 2017

Front desk girl lacked customer service, critical thinking and good judgment. I booked through the 800 number and was also told there was an elevator, got to the hotel and was told there wasnt. I showed the girl my wrist braces as I have 2 sprained wrists and can't carry or lift. She could care less. Luckily a nice guy overheard behind the desk and offered to help me. On the way out, a hotel guest offered to help me as he saw me struggling. I also saw there was a elevator that was under construction and an 80 year old man that could barely walk, trying to get up the stairs. Breakfast as not good. All microwaved and out of a package. McDonald's has better breakfast.

"Its alright"
Ana Julia F, 03 Juillet 2017

It's decent, We needed a crib for my grandson however, and it was dusty, and I needed to clean railing. The staff was courteous, and helpful. And we did request, to change rooms, because our room was right in front of some hotel construction, and they switched us ASAP. I would say it, is no frills, but Good.

"Wonderful stay!!"
Ron H, 03 Juillet 2017

From the time we arrived we felt welcome and special. We were immediately greeted by a friendly front desk personnel. The grounds were immaculately kept. The mountain view was fantastic as well as the courtside view. Plenty of space at breakfast and the pool area. We really enjoyed our stay

"Nice and clean room"
Danny D T, 03 Juillet 2017

We had not stayed at Best Western for a long time. We were surprised by the interior design of room (wood texture tiles in the walkway and bathroom areas; and carpet surrounding the bed area). Our room was very nice and clean. The TV remote did not work, made the phone call to the front desk, within 20 minutes or less, maintenance personnel provided the replacement. Good complimentary breakfast and the staffs were very helpful. Very nice landscaping in the courtyard. We will stay at this hotel again in the future.

"Terrific hotel!"
rebeccarB1165SE, 28 Juin 2017

Great property, excellent service, nice pool, good breakfast. It's perfect if you're visiting Santa Barbara, family friend and great for business travel, too. My room was quiet and I didn't hear any noise from folks above me. The only negative is that there is not an elevator, but staying on the first floor was just fine.

"Excellent BW hotel!"
db7477, 24 Juin 2017

An excellent stay. Rooms have been recently redone. Large pool, spa, gym, laundry and very well done breakfast. Good relative value in a very expensive locale. Convenient location off CA 101 (near UCSB) to explore the rarified air and exclusive ($$$) areas of SB county.

"Pleasantly Surprised"
lisawT6161UD, 12 Juin 2017

Hotels near Santa Barbara are outrageously over-priced. This Best Western was our best option, and we were pleasantly surprised. Clean, great breakfast, and beautiful landscaping. The espresso machine was a nice touch!

"Best Best Western!"
Thomas H, 12 Juin 2017

Love to stay here. Rooms are newly remodeled, beds are comfy, courtyard with pool and spa are nice. Mountains in background are beautiful. The wifi in rooms is fast. The front desk staff are pleasant and the continental breakfast has good choices.

"great hotel in SantaBarbara"
joanmunoz47, 10 Juin 2017

My husband and I stay here 2-3 times a year as our daughter and family live near by....we are never disappointed with our stay. The rooms are always ready and very clean. We have never had a bad nites sleep as the beds are so comfortable.

"Great for 1 night"
Jodie H, 07 Juin 2017

As usual it's hard to beat a Best Western stay. The room was spacious and clean, the location was convenient with lots of restaurants and fast food near by, free parking and free breakfast. Amenities in room included a microwave and refrigerator. Would've liked a coffeemaker. Front desk people were friendly and received a late suitcase from the airlines. They held it and we're going to call me at 9:00 a.m. so as not to wake me. Very thoughtful.

"Nice, as expected"
janine d, 06 Juin 2017

A good location, clean and spacious rooms. Includes a decent breakfast spread. Friendly staff. A nice pool and jacuzzi. Lovely gardens. They have a room service option for lunch and dinner in room. They have a small place that sells items you might need and forgot. I would stay here again.

"Rattling Pipes"
grega994, 03 Juin 2017

The pipes rattle so bad when hot water in the shower is turned on, it sounds like someone is jack hammering the bathroom wall. I have stayed here before and have mentioned this issue and I received an apology, but the problem has not been fixed. I could hear the rattle emanating from other guest's rooms starting at 5:00 am. Not good if you're a late sleeper. Fortunately for me I get up at 5:30 am anyway, but I was afraid I probably woke others with the terrible rattling pipes.

"A Beautiful Garden Hotel"
janineg131, 03 Juin 2017

We were so happy to find this hotel near Santa Barbara. The prices are reasonable and a great value. The landscaping is gorgeous with a great pool and jacuzzi. The rooms are updated and very clean. The included breakfast was great. We will definitely be back.

"Best stay yet at a Best Western"
elaineshaw1, 02 Juin 2017

This hotel was so lovely. Everything was so well done: the new room upgrade and decor, the best breakfast spread we have seen yet at Best Western, the beautifuland well-tended gardens. The staff was so nice and helpful. I NEVER write reviews, but this Best Western was so exceptional.

"Pleasent Stay"
Welshknitter, 29 Mai 2017

Hotel Comfortable, Beautiful well kept garden and pool areas, Breakfast a fair selection. Our room a little dark on entry. Staff friendly. Bonus in room safe to store passports, travel documents, electrical items, etc. Coin laundry washing facilities a bonus one machine a little noisy.

"Well Done!"
roberthF2197HX, 14 Mai 2017

This is a very well run facility. Very clean and well maintained. It has beautiful landscaping inside and out. A very nice setting. We enjoyed the hot breakfast buffet, ant sat out on the patio. We drove 6 miles into Santa Barbara to look around and have dinner. It was an easy drive both ways.

"BW Goleta"
paulog303, 10 Mai 2017

Nice hotel. Reasonably priced in an area where hotel prices are very high. Free wifi and breakfast. Room has been recently renovated with nice neutral decor. Easy access to/from US 101. Good value. Can't ask for more.

"It has gotten even better"
larkinjl, 09 Mai 2017

We visited this hotel several years ago and it has gotten better. The grounds are gorgeous with magnificent flowers and plants. The rooms are well presented. The breakfast served might be one of the best in a Best Western that we have ever experienced with a lot of variety of choices.

"verry nice 3 day stay"
Paul v, 09 Mai 2017

motel located at walking distance of several shops and restaurants and close to the highway, clean comfortable room, good shower and great beds. breakfast was included and was very good they even had a "bean to cup" coffee machine. staff was very friendly and helpful, would stay here again.

"Average hotel"
Laura M, 08 Mai 2017

Hotel was fine but nothing special. Can hear the freeway, Rooms are small and expensive! Breakfast was decent, variety of choices, fitness center was fine. Grounds are nice. Outside walk ways and those got noisy.

"Great atmosphere and Super Clean"
NewJersey771, 03 Mai 2017

My family enjoyed this hotel. This really is a great place to stay. The staff is wonderful and the rooms clean. The Pool area is relaxing and the landscaping looks amazing. Really close to the airport, college and shopping. Free breakfast is always a plus and parking is not an issue. Overall, we will definitely be staying there soon. I hope this helps

Fabulous Friends Weekend in Goleta! We loved the NEW look of the remodeled hotel. Breakfast was good, work out room was great, and the rooms were nicely decorated with comfortable beds. Highly recommend this hotel for the price!!

"Decent hotel"
richardcI2753PG, 29 Avril 2017

"Family Reunion"
arthurr553, 29 Avril 2017

Very nice setting. Quiet. Grounds were beautiful. Recently renovated. Very convenient location close to University and shopping. Friendly and professional staff. The beds were a little too firm for me.

"Santa Barbara Aurport"
N2854MUthomash, 29 Avril 2017

5 star quality beat the Embassey Suites we stayed at the 6 nights before. An oasis on the coast great outdoor pool facilities and leisure areas typically found at high end resorts. Front desk staff strive to help. Top Quality property!

"Good value for your money"
supuvjmom, 27 Avril 2017

This is a great hotel for its value. Rooms facing the garden are a plus. Pool is warm nice clean as was the jacuzzi. Room was clean spacious. Breakfast (included) was really good. They had a guy there helping with the waffles, he did a great job. The front desk person we checked in with was very helpful and knowledgeable.

"Great place to stay"
Trevor S, 24 Avril 2017

Very nice hotel with all the amenities. Comfortable clean rooms with beautiful landscaping and scenery including the mountains behind the hotel. Lot's of shopping within walking distance or driving. I would definitely stay there again and look forward to our next visit.

"Great location to UCSB"
michellelB3814DQ, 23 Avril 2017

Very helpful and friendly staff, happily gave us directions and recommendations for dinner, easy location to UCSB, the highway and surrounding areas. Very comfy rooms, great shower and breakfast is always a perk with teen boys! Liked eating al fresco by the pool in the morning. Will be back again...

"fantastic gardens"
michaellY6420GF, 22 Avril 2017

Close to UCSB enabling grandson to check out campus. Santa Barbara is right down the road. The hotel has lovely gardens and comfortable upgraded rooms. Typical Best Western Plus buffet breakfast is served 6:30 to 9:30.

"Done"
455maryannb, 13 Avril 2017

We stay at best western hotel and would like to use our points for room. We're still going to travel and use motels and we hope you keep improving the quality. The cost for week stays should keep going up

"Beautiful hotel but major problems with water pipes"
Shirley A, 09 Avril 2017

We loved everything about the facility except the NOISE/VIBRATIONS associated with the water pipes. Unfortunately we were told that it could not be fixed during our stay. Not every room had the problem but since the hotel was full we could not be moved to a different room. That problem was enough to influence my opinion on the value of the hotel for the price. At least management could have offered a discount for my room.

"Near University of california Santa Barbara get away."
robertbV1964ET, 30 Mars 2017

Everything was great. There were no problems. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting UCSB in Goleta, California. The Room was excellent and clean. The staff was helpful. There was internet and a business center as well as a gym.

"Business travel"
830dallast, 30 Mars 2017

The rooms are nice, but I had no interaction with any of the staff even though I was there for three nights. It's not that I had bad interaction, they just never interacted with me. Every time I went through the lobby, the staff were staring down at a computer the whole time.

"Average"
Tatia J, 28 Mars 2017

After changing rooms ( I was initially given a room at the back of the hotel where the parking lot was roped off due to construction - I would have had to park in the front and walk through the hotel to the back with luggage - as a single female traveler this was not safe or considerate). I was then given a room overlooking the parking lot so I could not appreciate the hotel grounds. The room was clean - the shower was large and had good water pressure. Everything else was average.

"loved our stay here"
cc12342015, 26 Mars 2017

Room: quiet, spacious, comfortable. The bed was heavenly. Amenities: nice heated pool and whirlpool. Used these quite a bit even though it was rainy and wet. Workout room is beautifully clean and the equipment is well maintained. Breakfast: delicious, and coffee/tea/hot chocolate available any time of the day Service: excellent.

"Excellent landscaping a beauty to behold."
Pat F, 25 Novembre 2016

Everything was excellent, no complaint. The grounds were well manucured, the sculpture of the trees were awesome. Close enough to the beach, and don't forget to visit the Danish village in Solvang. :) :) :) * *

"BW Goleta"
Robert E, 21 Novembre 2016

The Best Western Plus in Goleta, CA is a nice hotel and enjoyed my stay. Morning breakfast had a large selection from eggs, bagels, cereal, fruit, etc. The court grounds was very nicely done along the side of the pool.

"Great Value"
CoastieDad, 14 Novembre 2016

We went to the area for a destination wedding. We did not plan on spending much time at the facility and they offered what we considered a fair price for the area. We were happily surprised with the cleanliness and apparently upgraded rooms. At this time there are upgrades going on, but we were not inconvenienced. The beds were very comfortable and we had a nice 46 inch LCD TV. They have some rooms facing in toward the inner courtyard and pool and exterior rooms facing out to the open walkways. We had a second floor room facing the west and there were nice views of the mountains and of the palms. The property is well maintained. At the time of this writing there are no elevators to the second floor, but I saw the foundation is started for at least one new elevator. This hotel is located a short distance from the heart of Santa Barbara and would be a great home base for exploring the area. There are stores and restaurants within walking distance, yet the hotel is away from the highway and quiet. My final thought; they provide a great free breakfast!

"close enough for our needs in Goleta -"
Roxanne M, 09 Novembre 2016

needed a place to stay to visit UCSB daughter - and our fav was booked - this place was as close, as our favorite place - so it did the trick and we found out that , it will be added to our ' list ' of go-to places - while visiting daughter . beds comfy and cleanliness was good - could tell older place yet well kept and could be easy to miss on Calle Real , since it's located on a curve - there is lots of fast food places driving close for eats and even heard - there's nice place to eat - literally next door/driveway at another ' hotel' for dinner - as this place offers no on site eateries. gardens offered very cute ' trees ' - won't give it away - you just have to go & see for yourselves - kids will like it !

"Great Location"
S9059VXhappytraveler, 06 Novembre 2016

Near to restaurants, shopping and the university. Love the comfortable rooms and the morning breakfast selections. The hotel is lovely and the pool is warm and inviting. Making improvements to rooms and so noise is a tad bothersome if you sleep in late.

"Newly remodeled"
Witching, 02 Novembre 2016

They are in the middle of completely remodeling the rooms. I stayed in one that was recently finished. Great finishes being used: rain shower, fountain sink faucet, dark teal walls, large mirrors. The grounds are beautiful. Full breakfast, exercise room, computers, strong wifi, laundry area, swimming pool.... nice.

"Dark and gloomy rooms"
MalcolmP, 23 Octobre 2016

Our room, which i think was one of the renovated rooms, was dark and gloomy with a small window overlooking a yard. The bathroom fan ran constantly and the sink plug didn't work allowing gallons of water to be wasted. Clearly management has taken its eye off the ball. The breakfast area is small, overcrowded and the breakfast contents were an insult. Steamed burgers for breakfast - come on! And despite other comments it wasn't cheap. Luckily the king bed was comfy.

"Quality Lodging for a reasonable Price"
52024Carol, 20 Octobre 2016

We stayed 4 nights for a 50 year reunion of UCSB college friends. Best Western Plus is easily accessible from US 101, a short drive to campus or the city of Santa Barbara. Rooms clean, beds comfy, breakfast area well lit and spacious. We made great use of the garden like courtyard for sharing memories and planning the future. Front desk staff helpful and courteous. We would return for sure!

"Good quality for the price"
vickicp, 17 Octobre 2016

Very nice, spacious, and newly renovated room. The pool area was especially attractive. We were surprised at how plentiful the complimentary breakfast was, right down to omelets and waffles. While it isn't a 5 star plush hotel, it is a very comfortable hotel at a fair price

"Something are great some are not"
Thelmo T, 14 Octobre 2016

This hotel was a disappointment. The hotel seems nice, the breakfast area is nice, the hotel staff is friendly, but the room where we stayed was a let down. It was small, the TV signal didn't work properly. (Hot HD). The bathroom was outdated and small. Perhaps we stayed in an area that is not renovated. Be aware of this fact, before choosing this Hotel.

"College town trip"
Carl P, 14 Octobre 2016

Stayed there because it is conveniently located near UC Santa Barbara and the Inn is well kept with very good staff. Easy access from and to the freeway. Also very near shopping which is just down the street.

"BEST PLACE TO STAY FOR UCSB FAMILIES"
susanbZ8859GU, 10 Octobre 2016

BW South Coast is our go to for all of our visits to the Santa Barbara area. Location is perfect for our trips to UCSB. Stay on the backside of the building if you don't like loud music as the hotel to the north often has concerts.

"Nice Hotel, Close to SBA"
fairreviewinny, 09 Octobre 2016

We had to catch an early morning flight from Santa Barbara Airport, and after seeing the high prices for hotels directly in SB, I looked to the neighboring city of Goleta. We didn't have a chance to use the pool or amenities, but the grounds were very well kept, and we were pleased to have picked this place. Given that Best Western is not my usual "go-to" hotel chain, this specific hotel was impressive and clean, and I would recommend staying here. Also loved that it had a microwave and mini-fridge in the room. This is a two story hotel, and right now they are in the process of installing an elevator; currently you do have to go up a flight of stairs to the 2nd floor rooms. It was a simple, close drive to SBA and the tourist areas such as Santa Barbara Wharf. Very pleasant staff upon check-in and check-out also.

"Very nice remodel!!!"
804gerrym, 08 Octobre 2016

I stay for business quite often . They have just remodeled the whole area and still are working on the grounds . Very nice even I go there while I work it looks like a resort and is very comfortable and relaxing

"Great Hotel in Santa Barbara"
Chris A, 05 Octobre 2016

Just an hour and a half up the coast from LA is a peach of a hotel, just outside Santa Barbara, the Best Western Plus South Coast Inn. Beautifully kept, both the hotel itself and the gardens and pool. The whole experience was wonderful, with very friendly , helpful staff and beautifully appointed rooms.Complimentary breakfast was offered and was excellent. There are also a number of good restaurants in the area offering a variety of options e.g. Steaks, pizzas, mexican etc. Highly recommend this hotel!!

"GREAT STAY!"
Kathy M, 04 Octobre 2016

Spent four nights at this Best Western in Goleta. I have stayed at a few Best Westerns in the past, and this one was the best-appointed one of all --- there were extras here that I hadn't seen at other BW's, such as the room safe, the full array of DVD's, magazines, books, and newspapers. The grounds and lounge/dining area were very nice, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

"Didn't think it was a gem as someone else said"
mochajacklizzie, 29 Septembre 2016

I was disappointed with the room. It cost, with tax, $358 for a small suite with 2 queen beds in a very small room. The suite was supposed to be refurbished, but there was a rather unattractive loveseat in the living area and no other seats except for the dining table, which had 4 chairs. An ugly rug was underneath the loveseat and the flooring was, I believe, vinyl, which was not level and had many pieces up and down instead of flat. The bathroom was very nice and I liked that it had no bathtub but a large shower instead. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were not so much. We felt the price was way too expensive for a very small suite for one night. You are probably paying more for the location.

"Great Pick in Santa Barbara"
U1939WOrebeccaf, 21 Septembre 2016

I have stayed at a lot of best westerns, but this was one of the best. The room was in excellent condition. The pool was clean and spacious and the hot tub was clean and working properly. The grounds were well cared for and the topiaries were so creative. We had fun just walking around and trying to guess what the different creatures were. It was easy to book online and the hotel was close to UCSB and the airport. The breakfast food was typical Best Western fare (sorry, but though adequate, not the tastiest). But it was plentiful, and the staff provided it in a timely manner and with lovely presentation.

"Beautiful & Peaceful Gardens"
Christina G, 15 Septembre 2016

All amenities were excellent upon arrival. This is a large facility which hosts precision garden landscapes. Great for a weekend romantic getaway. Also very close to the City of Santa Barbara. I hope to return someday.

"Great Place in Goleta"
Worktotravel25, 08 Septembre 2016

We stayed at the Best Western South Coast while visiting family last month. We liked the fact that pets are not allowed and they have a good free breakfast with eggs, yogurt, fruit and other items. You could walk to Trader Joe's and a great smoothie place and a good Japanese restaurant. I wish the windows opened but no hotels have that.

"Goleta gold mine of convenience"
N D, 07 Septembre 2016

Located strategically off I5 and before UCSB/SBState. More service companies nearby and even open during Labor Day holiday. Improved rooms and grounds make it a pleasure to stay at Best Western South Coast Inn.

"Clean, Good breakfast, nice stay"
Jacqui R, 05 Septembre 2016

Rooms were clean, Gardens were lovely. Breakfast was good, hot and plentiful. Staff always around to freshen it up. Never ran out so convenient to have on-site. My husband found the beds a little too soft, but I loved it. Close to freeway but no freeway noise.

"Wedding Weekend Stay at the Best Western"
db6279, 01 Septembre 2016

We were in Santa Barbara for a wedding, but due to the high hotel prices in the city, we opted to stay at Best Western Plus South Coast Inn in Goleta which was quite affordable. This hotel was about 10 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara. The hotel's outdoor landscape had very a well manicured garden, and the rooms were spacious, modern, and had all the basic necessities. I ended up using the pool, which was very refreshing. I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast in the morning. Overall, my experience at this hotel was awesome, and I would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area.

"Unresponsive, uncaring staff"
856ColleenI, 31 Août 2016

Stayed one night at the Best Western South Coast Inn in Goleta. Very pretty grounds, fairly well maintained. Rooms nice. I've stayed here before. My daughter and I went out at approx. 9:15 to relax in the spa for a little while. We had had a long drive to Goleta that day and I, especially, was really achy from walking so much the previous 3/4 days at Disneyland. After we were in the spa not more than 10 min., some people came over that were smoking drinking from glass beer bottles and got in the spa, with their smoke wafting in our direction. I got out and called the front desk and told them what was happening. He said he would send someone over to speak to them, but no one ever arrived. This is not the first time I've had an issue with people smoking at this hotel. The last time was right outside my room and again, the front desk staff was not very responsive. Yesterday morning when I checked out, I mentioned the incident to the front desk staff and they were indifferent, totally unresponsive and uncaring. This hotel is not cheap. Costs much more than hotels in other comparable areas. Very poor service and uncaring, indifferent staff!

"Very good hotel !!! "
Fridman408, 30 Août 2016

Very good location in Santa Barbara, close to many restaurants. It has magnificent gardens, well manicured. The room is a good size with comfy beds and good linen. The breakfast was a regular American type brekkies. Staff were friendly and helpful

"Stumbled onto a gem"
JennyD707, 26 Août 2016

On a recent road trip we found this place. We were a little skeptical since most of the hotels were booked in the area except for this one. Made us wonder if there was something we didn't know. Fortunately all those people missed out on an affordable little gem. The rooms seem to have been recently updated but you still get a sense that it may be an older hotel. There were 4 of us and the only room available was 1 king with a pull out couch. The king was very comfortable and the pull out was, well it was your typical lumpy pull out. Also, once the pull out was out, the walking space disappeared. Not a big deal since we were so glad to get a room. Also, we spent most of our visit at the pool. The pool area was terrific. Many hotels claim to have a heated pool, and turns out to be cold. But this pool was actually warm. The grounds were beautiful. You really felt like you were in Santa Barbara with palms, flowers and shrubs. They also had a ping pong table, big hit with our teenagers. Free breakfast in the morning was the standard free breakfast. However, being able to sit and eat on the patio near the garden made it a notch above the typical free hotel breakfast. Would definitely stay again if we were passing through.

"Excellent stay of 2 days"
Cynthia Y, 24 Août 2016

As Starwood members, we usually stay in the Sheraton, W or Westin hotels but as there were none in the area, based on the reviews, we stayed here for two nights to visit UCSB and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I thought the hotel was really great for the price. Their complimentary shuttle is awesome. For that alone I will stay. They picked us up at the Goleta Amtrak station, dropped us off and picked us up from UCSB and dropped me off at the car rental. The rooms have just been renovated so they are very nice and the landscaping and pool area are very nice. The workout room is small but has the basics. Breakfast is average but extensive with a generous spread of yogurt, cereals, muffins, scones, bagels, bread, peanut butter, banana and oranges. There is sausage or bacon and eggs. Also you can make your own waffles. I think this is a well-managed hotel with staff that is very responsive to their guests needs. Also, I like the location on Calle Real which has a lot of walkable places to eat and shop nearby including Trader Joe's.

"The staff makes this marvelous! The garden makes it magical."
winxalot, 23 Août 2016

We've stayed here on two occasions, each time for a few days. Each time, we have been struck with how eager the staff is to make your stay pleasant. They are quick to find you extra pillows and towels. They are always available with a smile at the front desk. Cookies are left out in the afternoons. The breakfast bar includes a waffle maker and coffee machine with many selections. At some point they must have hired a whimsical gardener, as the bushes have been cut into folk art-style topiary animals. It's fun to guess what animal is being represented as you walk to and from your room. The rooms are modern, the location convenient, and the noise level quiet. We will return when we visit this area again.

Gary H, 22 Août 2016

Very good staff, very clean and beautifully kept. The two (8 and 12 yr. old) just love this place. Each year we take them to horseback riding camp in SB but they spend as much time in the pool as at the barn. We chose to go back to a one bedroom even before we knew they had remodeled. Very nicely done! Breakfast is nice and the kids love to raid the "snack room". The price is great and it's very close to shopping centers, the airport (although not noisy) and not far from SB downtown. A really nice place!! My wife slept one night on kids hide-a-bed and it was great! And, the hot tub was hot!!

"One of the best BW hotels I've been to."
samangiealexnatalie, 03 Août 2016

Modern contemporary room theme. Easy access to the 101. Complimentary breakfast was standard nothing fancy but did the trick. The landscaping was beautifully manicured. Pool and spa were nice. Not loud even though it's next to the highway.

"One of the nicest Best Westerns we've stayed in"
dkdisaok, 02 Août 2016

I've stayed at a lot of Best Westerns, but this one was extra nice. Beautiful grounds, nice staff, great pool. Plus, it's relatively inexpensive compared to nearby Santa Barbara hotels. We'll definitely here next time we're in the area.

"Not a "Best" Western"
Patricia B, 30 Juillet 2016

I have stayed at alot of Best Westerns. They are my favorite brand when I travel. We booked into this hotel 9 months in advance because my daughter was getting married in Goleta. They recently remodeled and I must say the rooms were tight. Tile floors were all uneven and dirty even. Cleaning staff swiffered them, not even steam cleaned. Bugs in bathroom area and spiders/webs in corners in sleeping area.

"Updated hotel with many nice facilities"
Vicky H, 28 Juillet 2016

We stayed here for 2 nights with 2 queen beds. Nice hotel with facilities including business center, fitness center, laundry machines, pool, spa, table tennis. Everything is great. Breakfast is not cooked to order like Pacifica Suites but fresh self made waffles with orange juice is my favorite. Espresso machine is available 24 hours? At least I can get one in the afternoon or dinner time in addition to breakfast time. I like their lobby very much. We used it like living room with cozy sofa, TV, ice water and hot coffee/tea. Location is great for UCSB. I would have given this hotel 5 out of 5, but my daughter asked me to deduct one for not so good wifi connection.

"slept like I was in my own bed!"
edoish, 28 Juillet 2016

clean, quiet, perfect Great nights sleep, loved the pool, nice comp bfast in the morning, easy check in and out. will stay again.. The grounds were well maintained and very beautiful. Location was perfect for everything I needed to do while in Santa Barbara.

"Great Spot for Family Fun"
Lichenlover, 25 Juillet 2016

Stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed the pool, breakfast, very helpful staff and proximity to Santa Barbara, beaches, UCSB. Well worth the price and especially inviting gardens and pool area. We were a group of 6 adults but this would be a good choice for families with young children as well.

"No Credit for No Hot Water"
Labbymom, 21 Juillet 2016

I have stayed at this hotel previously and my previous visits were OK -- nothing great. One of my work associates stays at this hotel every week, so when my regular hotel was sold out, I decided to stay here. I happened to stay in the same room last night as I did the week before (room 227). The flooring in the room is tile that looks like wood which is fine, except it is installed so unevenly, you can trip on it. There is also a hole in the ceiling in the bathroom that has been "patched" with a small bowl! Last night the power went out and as a result, there was no hot water this morning. When I went to check out, I asked the desk clerk, Jesus, if the hotel was compensating their guests due to the lack of hot water. I was told "no." I let him know I work for a large corporate account of the hotels and that people from our company stay at this hotel every week. He didn't care -- no credit for no hot water. I wasn't looking for a 100% comp, but something off the bill should have been offered. I also advised him of the hole in the ceiling that was patched with a bowl and he could have cared less. I let him know I would be writing a review on Trip Advisor about my stay and again, he could have cared less.

"It's all about the location"
victoriamA4157SL, 14 Juillet 2016

The hotel is your usual hotel with all the basic amenities offered for free (parking, Wi-fi and breakfast which a big plus) Nothing to complain about at all except the price is a little on the high side but it seems like all the hotels in the area are ridiculously expensive. I am used to staying at Best Western for around $140-$160 but I guess it's all about location location location.

"Could have been worse"
esl1007, 13 Juillet 2016

Beds terrible, housekeeping good, breakfast terrible. Shower was the best part, big and spacious. Had a suite and instead of having the bathroom off the bedroom, at night one had to walk through the living room as the bathroom was located off the living room. The front desk staff was always warm and was willing to help. I only know from April to yesterday, but lots of kids on weekends and parents seem absent.

"Beautiful grounds and restful rooms"
CalGreyNomad, 11 Juillet 2016

You notice the beautiful landscaping as you arrive and it becomes more special within the complex. The room was a quiet one at the back with all the normal amenities. A very comfortable bed. Breakfast is an extra plus at the Best Western Plus. Although not as good as the one in Simi Valley (CA), the food was fresh, plentiful and easy to enjoy in a beautiful setting. The 24-hour coffee/latte/mocha machine was great! A great place to stay close to Santa Barbara (10 min from downtown). Though I would advise NOT during a summer weekend when the prices everywhere in Santa Barbara are just plain too high! But you'll get good quality for your money if you stay here, despite the high price.

"R&R After A Long Travel Day"
JanieB_11, 08 Juillet 2016

We were scheduled to stay at the Presidio motel in downtown Santa Barbara but were very disappointed in the accommodations. This left us without a place to stay on a Friday afternoon. Driving up to Goleta we found this little gem tucked along the highway. Best Western hotels never fail to deliver clean comfort. The staff is helpful and friendly. The room has almost a new car smell. The vibe is pure rest an relax simplicity.

"A Very Good Choice"
lfiebert, 04 Juillet 2016

We stayed for at this Best Western for three nights in order to attend a nearby family celebration. Our room was large, cleaned well, and had enough lights for me to read without any difficulty. The free breakfast was quite good, and the cookies in the evening were such a nice treat. We used the hotel shuttle van for airport pickup and drop off and used it to visit the nearby UCSB campus and walked the lovely lagoon trail. Our van driver, Julniza, was a lovely young woman who was delightful and extremely helpful. Best Western is fortunate to have such a committed and energetic employee. If we were to return to the Santa Barbara area, we would stay at this hotel again.

"Visiting Goleta"
Luz P, 02 Juillet 2016

The hotel premises are very nice and well kept. Rooms are clean and appear to be recently remodeled. Breakfast a great!! The only reason why I give this hotel 4 stars and not five is because the room's entry door had a gap and not great insulation. Noise from outside woke us up a few times.

"Tourist Rip Off Charges"
Rattlerbas, 30 Juin 2016

Great hotel, good pool, gym and breakfast. Excellent wifi Watch out hidden charges in final bill. Not only is there a extra Tourist charge but there are two such charges. Then there is a 9 % tax charged on total.

"Dissapointing customer service! but a great well maintained hotel with gardens"
kristina j, 26 Juin 2016

The only reason for my 2star rating is the BAD and LACK of Customer Service! I left my dress at the hotel, and I realised it later on in the day. I had to do the chasing up and I had to make 2 phone calls a day for 3days. And all the reception staff were doing is passing me on to different departments with no answer for ages! In the end I left a voicemail to the Manager explaining how upset I am and disappointed with the staff. She only sent me an email, saying she's spoke to the cleaners and that's it no apology no updates no nothing. It so obvious the cleaner has taken the dress and denying it. Apart from that: • Stylish beautiful room with a kettle and microwave • Power shower and toiletries included • The hotel grounds are kept up to great standards • Lovely carved tortoise animals by the path walk • Great Jacuzzi and pool! • Good breakfast, mainly continental choice, but all the coffee and tea are there It's just a shame I was upset by being ignored. I'm glad this bad service hasn't ruined or put me off my driving holiday in the USA at the time

"If you need to get work done online, do not stay here!"
Roslyn R, 23 Juin 2016

I am very happy with everything about this hotel--it is clean and lovely. But the wifi demands a username and password everyday. This is annoying--it's free just leave it open! But the slow dinosaur speed is the real problem. I can't get work done. I am so frustrated I am thinking of moving hotels. So you can gage whether the internet here is fast enough for your needs: at my house I can download a video in 90 seconds. At any decent hotel I can download a video in 3 minutes. Here, 45 minutes minimum.

"Pricey but beautiful"
Kathy V, 20 Juin 2016

Rooms are clean, comfortable, roomy and updated. Staff is friendly and helpful. Grounds are lovely with topiary and tropical plants. Love staying here - very convenient to UCSB. Wish they offered better discounts - too pricey now for me to stay there again.

"Excellent experience!"
kathleeno30, 17 Juin 2016

This hotel is an excellent place to stay when visiting your son/daughter at UCSB. They've done an amazing job of remodeling the hotel. Plus, the breakfast, work-out room, and hot tub make it top notch.

"Best Western Comes Through Again"
basketbunny1, 11 Juin 2016

We visited this hotel in Goleta for our granddaughter's graduation from UCSB. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff very responsive to our needs. We enjoyed the stay very much. We recommend it highly.

"Conveninet"
Maria T, 08 Juin 2016

This was a first stop after arriving in LA in the morning after a long flight. We settled in quickly and spent sometime by their beautiful pool area. Their restaurant was under renovation, but they had set up their buffet breakfast in a nearby room near the pool area. Was not an inconvenience at all. Room was clean and parking right outside the room allowed for easy and convenient loading and unloading of our car.

"Nice"
Kristi W, 06 Juin 2016

This is a nice property with excellent staff and clean rooms. The pillows are too full for me but that is a matter of personal preference. The breakfast was pretty good, very crowded but everyone was accommodated. I love the grounds, they are wonderful.

"Renovations, noise & dirty"
WEELASSIE_7, 02 Juin 2016

Stayed 12-14 May 16. Large renovations in process - did not inform us - could not sit in sun because of hammering etc. No public areas & breakfast served in a converted bedroom - 100+ trying to eat on tiny tables in a bedroom - cattle market springs to mind. Spilt water on bedroom floor - dried it up - tissues black. Only after reviewed with Best Western did management email - despite asking to speak to them twice. Not a patch on previous visits - holiday ruined - no apology - checked out early. I would not recommend.

"Decently Priced Hotel in Santa Barbara Area"
Sally B, 30 Mai 2016

We decided to stay here after realizing how expensive Santa Barbara was for Memorial Day weekend. Our room was recently remodeled and was very clean. We faced the parking lot in the back so the room was quiet. The breakfast was very good - they have a cool machine that dispenses coffee, hot chocolate, expresso, etc. I thought that was a nice touch. The pool is nice and it has a jacuzzi. The fitness room is fine.

"Beautiful grounds"
Leighims, 25 Mai 2016

We went to a wedding and this hotel was specified as having special rates. After researching, we decided to stay. Reasons we decided to stay were because it was close to wedding site and there were restaurants and stores within walking distance and the landscaping of the hotel looked really nice. We were happy with our room - a view of the interior grounds. The check-in person let us choose the area we wanted to stay in. The pool area is great - private and beautiful. The breakfasts were adequate. Oranges were delicious!!!! Took some for snacks too. Luckily there was outdoor eating space because the breakfast room is fairly small and couldn't accommodate everyone. We walked to get lunch and dinner and there were lots of choices; both chains and local restaurants. Maid service was very good. There was no Wifi by the pool though. Hotel rates seemed a little high but that may just be the Santa Barbara area. Tap water was yucky - get bottled water! Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would return.

"Best of the Best"
Dianna T, 25 Mai 2016

Beautiful remodel inside and out! Great new décor in the rooms. Have all ready suggested to other business associates traveling to this region of CA as we always seeking a fair priced hotel near the Santa Barbara coast and airport.

"A Step Above a Budget Motel"
cozyotter, 19 Mai 2016

Goleta, the less expensive alternative to Santa Barbara. Compared to SB hotels this one is a bargain. However, it truly is a just a small upgrade from a Motel 6. The room is clean, the bed comfortable and you get a mediocre breakfast and a pool. My room on the outside of the complex had a view of the parking lot and the backside of the uber hip Goodland Hotel, which btw has very loud live music outside every Thursday night. With a kid at UCSB I will continue to my search for ideal lodging.

"This is a lovely place to stay"
bigblueprescottaz, 17 Mai 2016

My husband and I spent two nights at this Best Western and were very happy with everything from the pleasant staff to the beautiful rooms. They are in the middle of a remodel but it didn't bother us since this is a large place and we were far away. They only seem to work 8-5 and we weren't always on the property but they seemed very respectful of keeping out of the way and keeping it quiet. The breakfast was the big surprise, I know that sounds like I need to get out more but it was really very tasty and a lot of selections. The linens were very nice and the bed comfortable enough for both of us to sleep on the first night out, not a normal thing when you travel. I loved that the room had the heavy traffic areas in Pergo or something of that nature and the bed and couch area are carpeted. Seems a much better way to keep it clean. We got a very good price and I'm afraid when they finish the remodel the cost will go up to match others in the area. But until that time comes I'll be staying there. I almost forgot the lovely courtyard with beautiful topiaries and landscaping.

"Great value during renovations"
Elizabeth E, 13 Mai 2016

The staff couldn't have been more helpful. The first room we got had no hot water, and there was no fuss when they moved us, even though we had used the room a bit. Staff also obliged with requests for wine glasses (not standard in US hotels). The gym, laundry were useful.

"Loved this hotel!"
HelenNoel23, 10 Mai 2016

This is a newly renovated hotel and it is beautiful. The room we had was large and offered everything we needed from coffee/tea, microwave, fridge, iron and board, hair dryer, free wi-fi in room and lobby, stand alone computers with printer, excellent quality toiletries and safe. The room was nicely decorated, clean and the bed was comfortable. We loved the gardens and enjoyed the pool, whirlpool and gym. The table tennis board was appreciated and we made good use of it. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Thanks especially to Itita at the front desk who was so pleasant and helped make us feel comfortable. Itita is super friendly and showed a lot of enthusiasm. The only critique I have is that the air conditioner was noisy and we were unable to control it from our room. Otherwise everything else was near perfect.

"Best Hotel Breakfast"
Charlene H, 05 Mai 2016

We always stay here not only because the grounds, and accommodations are excellent, but because of their breakfast. They have everything from yogurt, fruit, toast, bagels, juice, an egg dish (omelet, etc) and bacon or sausage. There is plenty of room to have breakfast, enjoy coffee and read the newspaper. Best Hotel Breakfast Ever!

"Good value"
cdjopinion, 04 Mai 2016

Room had good amenities, microwave and fridge. Wanted a room with king bed, but settled on room with 2 queen beds due to construction noise. The room was nicely decorated, but a bit crowded. No sink in restroom and a shower with fixed shower head...no tub. There is a nice sink and vanity in non-private area outside of bathroom. Some people may have issues with this layout from a sanitary standpoint. Overall very nice place with great outdoors areas.

"Highly recommended"
cpd6198, 03 Mai 2016

This was a great overall experience and highly recommended for your stay. Location was great as there were any number of businesses located right down from the hotel to eat or get your needs. Plenty of parking and nice pool area

"EXCELLENT FACILITY FOR THE PRICE--Beautiful grounds, pool."
Pat G, 02 Mai 2016

Found this to be a hidden gem in expensive Santa Barbara, Ca. Lovely grounds, huge pool, nice hot tub. Very kid friendly. Buffet breakfast is much better than expected. Many rooms updated and redecorated. The grounds are beautiful, fancy landscaping. This location is an easy "hop on" 101 the freeway. But very quiet. Going back for a second yea 2016.r. Nothing to say but good things. Much nicer than the Fess Parker hotel on the beach.

"The second time this year"
lewisharob, 02 Mai 2016

This is the second time we have been here this year.We had a lovely room very clean the staff are veryn very nice and help with everything. The food is good so are the grounds with blooming flowers We shall come back soon

"Pretty grounds, nice staff"
danaefromSacto, 27 Avril 2016

We stayed here while visiting UCSB for Spring Insight (Open House for prospective students). Location is not as close as it looks- you have to go way around the airport to get to the school- but it was close as most any place around. The grounds are lovely, the bushes are cut into shapes, flowers were blooming nice. However the second floor walkway around the courtyard looks over this big empty lot which it looks like they use as the junk area- maybe this is only during the remodel- but definitely not pretty like the rest of the place. The hot tub and pool area are nice, and there is plenty of outdoor seating right off the breakfast area to enjoy an alfresco meal. Breakfast is full of options- you could have something different every day for a week. Best part is the big fancy coffee maker. They have DVD's to rent in the rooms and our room had wonder little reading lights attached to the headboard. Two negatives- even though we had a remodeled room- first- there is a huge mirror opposite the bathroom door. At night when you are sleeping if someone opens the door before they have turned off the light it shines right at you and makes you feel as if you are suddenly in an interrogation from and old spy movie. Second- they put no soundproofing between the bathroom and bedroom. Awkward.

"Best Hotel in Goleta"
susanbZ8859GU, 19 Avril 2016

With a daughter competing on the UCSB swim team, this hotel is our go-to first choice place to stay. Clean, friendly, and easy to get to and from campus. Great staff and comfortable beds. Complimentary breakfast, lovely pool and grounds make for an enjoyable experience all around.

"Another win by Best Western"
Michael W, 19 Avril 2016

I'm a recovering hotel snob. But, I have a kid in college so I'm looking for the best bang for my buck. Best Western South Coast Inn really delivered. Hotels in Santa Barbara are expensive and lots of them need to be updated. The grounds here are gorgeous and our room was nicely done and super comfortable. The staff was very helpful with check in and check out, questions I had and a really good restaurant recommendation. Loved the pool area. The breakfast is more than adequate and there are lots of cool outdoor places to eat.

"Santa Barbara area"
Sharon L, 19 Avril 2016

We love this hotel. There is shopping and restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are being redone and the grounds are very nice. They also have a shuttle service. The beds are comfortable. Parking is free.

"One night stay, nice"
casavaldez, 14 Avril 2016

The motel was going through a reno. Our room, I believe, was already remodeled. It was a nice, clean room. A bit noisy since it is a motel, but nothing too bad. They served a nice, hot breakfast in the morning for guests, had a pool and free wifi. Right up the street from several restaurants and shopping center. Close to UCSB.

"Newly remodeled room"
Tristan L, 10 Avril 2016

We were happy with location, the updated room, the bed and breakfast, parkingw as easy. This hotel does not have elevators. The only problem was we had no hot water in the shower. Water pressure was terrible. Once i told the manager the plumber was right there but we were already leaving. I will go back and call front desk sooner, if needed. 4 stars due to the water problem.

"Nice Hotel in Nice Location"
Candace C, 04 Avril 2016

I stay at this hotel often for UCSB events. I like everything about it, except for the spotty wi-fi. It is a nice hotel in a nice location. Decent self-serve breakfast, nice pool and garden. Hope they fix the wi-fi problem soon though.

"Nice place for money"
GeoR_951, 02 Avril 2016

It was clean and close to UC Santa Barbara. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty decent with some warm items such as bacon and frittatas The beds were very comfortable -- we slept very well. Room was very clean and looked like it was just renovated. Overall, we had an excellent experience!

"Goleta, A nice rest"
Russell T, 31 Mars 2016

This hotel is located in a less congested area of Southern California, just outside of Santa Barbara. The gardens of the hotel are immaculate. The rooms are very clean and with a little insulation, they would be perfect. Hopefully, the remodeling that is taking place includes some soundproofing.

"Pleasant stay"
AM207, 29 Mars 2016

My trip was for business, and for that this hotel was just fine. There was a slight noise problem because of renovations, but this was nothing compared to the noise of drunk guests late at night near the car park. Fortunately I sleep soundly...The reception desk was very helpful and friendly, though. The breakfast was in good, and overall the hotel was good value, given the area. Travellers without cars should be aware though that there isn't much by way of quality restaurants in the area..it would be good if the hotel made delivery arrangements with a wider range of restaurants than their own inhouse one.

"A good deal for the Santa Barbara Area"
Charles M, 24 Mars 2016

Our room was recently remodeled, therefore, everything was in very good repair. It was convenient for our purposes and so it worked out well. There are a number of restaurants and other conveniences close by and downtown Santa Barbara is about 10 minutes away. But their commitment to water conservation was a little hokey. The shower had the control on one side and the shower head on the opposite wall, making regulating the temperature a little time consuming, plus when shut off, it took a while for the water to stop flowing (a nit, but it could be costly over the long run). Also, towels hung up to dry for 2nd day use were replaced, so their commitment to saving resources was minimal at best. As far as the Santa Barbara area goes this is a pretty good value.

"Excellent stay"
Laura L, 24 Mars 2016

We had a very pleasant stay here. We were impressed with their gardens right away, and the room amenities were great. It had everything we wanted...small refrigerator, microwave, coffee and larger flatscreen than at other hotels. Some remodeling was underway so notes in the room asked for our understanding of noise and clutter. But we didn't see or hear or anything. The receptionist gave us a quiet area of the hotel, 2nd floor in back, so perhaps that's why we didn't hear any noise. The bed (king) was very comfortable and had great pillows. We love Goleta, too. Down the street are many good eateries and shops and a Trader Joes, which I love. We didn't have their extended continental breakfast but it looked good. We will return again!

"Adequate fore a day or two"
hiquest555, 23 Mars 2016

Pretty much average. Value received was somewhat more expensive than average for the age and type of hotel ($150/nt) but less expensive than Santa Barbara. Clean, but a half inch gap at the bottom of the door wasted energy and allowed outside bugs to infiltrate --- found tcrickets in our room both days. Breakfast was good. Ample well-lit parking. Many restaurants, food markets, and some shops within walking distance. Located close to airport, UCSB, beach, and just eight miles from the city of Santa Barbara. Room renovations in progress, but not a hindrance.

"Best price in area, well maintained"
49AlaskaMom, 21 Mars 2016

Nice property: well maintained rooms, nice pool and pool area, gardens, moderately spacious breakfast area. Breakfast itself was so-so, but not bad. All staff were friendly and helpful. This motel is within easy walking distance (next block or two) of several restaurants and other shopping. Would stay here again.

"Worst Stay Ever"
Laura H, 21 Mars 2016

Found it difficult to find the right temperature for my shower as there was a very fine line between scalding and freezing cold. Also, discovered mold on breakfast muffins. I would expect these types of conditions at a Motel 6.

"Beautiful Courtyard"
Carol J, 15 Mars 2016

This was my second time staying here and this time my room faced the lush courtyard. Rooms are undergoing remodeling and I was fortunate to have one of those. Quite nice with coffee maker, mini-fridge and microwave. A nice breakfast is included and the coffee bar is available 24 hours. Helpful staff. Convenient to Hwy. 101 and shopping.

"Great hotel, lousy booking."
randi231, 14 Mars 2016

I tried to book two rooms for the same evening at this hotel through this website. However, I was busy comparing prices at several websites over the course of a few weeks, since I made arrangements several months in advance. Every time I went to TripAdvisor, the price went up another $20. I could not book the two rooms at the same time, I had to do this sequentially, as the website wouldn't permit this. Then the rooms couldn't be adjoining, either. This was 2 months in advance for a stay in March, when nothing was happening in the Santa Barbara area, not spring break, not a holiday. The hotel had plenty of vacancies, but not available online through TripAdvisor. By the time I booked the hotel, the price had been raised $80 for the same room. Insane. I will never use TripAdvisor again, even if the hotel was nice. Watch out for this scam. The hotel has nothing to do with it.

"pleasure"
Amy C, 11 Mars 2016

A very pleasant place to stay. One of the best Best Western's we have visited. Close to many shops and restaurants. 5 minutes from the beach, and 13 miles from downtown Santa Barbara. The rooms are very nice and clean. The beds are super comfy!!

"a tranquil resort"
sherivia, 16 Février 2016

nice rooms included with refridge and microwave. beautiful gardens surround the rooms. great free breakfast and great!!!!!!!!!!!coffee. at night there are warm fresh cookies. I can't wait to go back and have a quite relaxing couple of days

"Appealing and Approximate"
shield2211, 06 Février 2016

The room was very clean and comfortable. I had a single room with a double bed. I thought the bed was comfortable and it came with the typical coffee maker blow dryer, etc... The plus was a mini fridge. The lobby is very nice. The staff were young and friendly. The grounds were immaculate and the landscaping was something to brag about. The Best Western Plus is located within walking distance of good eateries, but we chose to drive. The pool area was also very nice and relaxing. I was very disappointed the hot tub was out of order (no jets). That totally needs to get fixed soon. The morning breakfast was "ok." Plenty to eat, but nothing to brag about with exception of the Cappuccino/expresso machine. I'd book there again because we were there for a hockey game at Ice in Paradise (brand new rink). It was under 10-minutes away. Lastly, FREE WIFI!

"Nice Hotel"
Mommy2768, 05 Février 2016

This was my second time visiting this hotel. I reserved a room with a king bed and because they overbooked for my room type, I received a suite that was wayyyyyy more than I needed but I loved it!!!! The room was BEAUTIFUL!!! A family of four-six could share this space easily. 2 queen comfortable beds in the bedroom and a sofa sleeper in the living room. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Short but good visit"
lavapig, 05 Février 2016

Stayed at the South Coast Inn overnight to attend a basketball game at UCSB. This is 2 story walk up motel with nicely kept grounds and clean rooms. Rooms were good sized and contained a safe, mini-fridge, and microwave. Service at this place is excellent and friendly. Their shuttle dropped and picked me up at UCSB events center for the game. Would stay here again when visiting Santa Barbara.

"Good Gardens Clean Rooms"
Zack C, 28 Janvier 2016

There is not much options in the CIty it self. But we enjoyed our short trip in the CIty by staying in this hotel. The staffs were professional and the room were clean. Yes, the garden were well kept too.

"Very Nice Remodeled Rooms!!!!"
Samantha B, 26 Janvier 2016

I visit this hotel about once a year for a College Water Polo tournament and stay here because it is the hotel of choice by the coach. In the past I dreaded staying in the worn out rooms. However, upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised with a remodel. The rooms are modern, up to date and very nicely decorated. The shower is very spacious and modern. Well done Best Western!!!!

"A gem in Goleta"
56sharonk, 25 Janvier 2016

Newly remodeled. I have been staying at this hotel near UC Santa Barbara for 7 years prior to the remodel. The old rooms were nice, but the new rooms are quite an excellent upgrade. The beds are very comfortable, the shower is fantastic. The couch is comfortable. The rooms are very clean. It is a great value for your stay when you need to go to UCSB for sports tournaments or just dropping off your student.

"Merry Christmas"
northstategal, 28 Décembre 2015

I really appreciated the festive way the lobby was decorated for Christmas - very inviting to put wrapped presents under the tree and drink some hot cocoa while waiting for Santa to appear. Very good breakfast and the bed was super comfortable. Will stay here very time I have to go to Santa Barbara.

"good value"
Kathleen B, 27 Décembre 2015

the hotel staff is friendly. the hotel has a very nice swimming pool and jaccuzzi, and offers a good breakfast in a pleasant dining room. the guest rooms are nicely updated and the room rates are very reasonable for the santa barbara/goleta area.

"Trip"
Rick C, 26 Décembre 2015

Excellent place great weekend. Good morning breakfast and all night coffee- and tea. Courtesy is their moto and they are very helpful. The location is excellent near a Trader Joes and Albertsons to satisfy your cravings for munchies.

"Very Pleasant Overnight"

Attractive exterior upon our arrival. Friendly, organized staff for check in. Offered a choice of rooms/bed sizes. I was initially concerned that the road noise would be an issue, but the way the buildings are set, it wasn't noticeable. One of the buildings was under construction, but no work took place in the evening or early in the morning so it was not a problem. Plus guests were not being lodged in the building that was being remodeled. The landscaping in the courtyard was beautiful. Breakfast was good. The room was clean and spacious with a table and chairs. The wall control for the heater was appreciated and the unit not overly noisy. I would stay here again.

"Could use a little fluffing"
Illona C, 19 Décembre 2015

Lovely grounds, nice staff, but the rooms need a little modernization. Things just seemed kind of tired. The breakfast was nicely presented and quite good for a hotel buffet. I would recommend it because it was a good value for the area.

"Beautiful Landscape"
steveFromHealsburg, 16 Décembre 2015

Very restful sleep in a nicely landscape area. The breakfast was good - and Sofie and I felt very happy here! We liked all the date palms and the beautiful way everything is cared for. It was like being in a park - magical. My only complaint is that the pillows were so damn big. I like a pillow no higher than 6"... but I soldiered on and had a great night sleep. :-)

"Good nights stay"
mishfish5, 13 Décembre 2015

Stayed for one night one way to Monterey. Lovely staff at check in and the kids loved the warm cookies at reception. Room was fine - beds comfy, water hot and it was pretty clean. Free breakfast was good - we sat outside in the sun and ate (bagels, toast, bacon, frittata, cereal, tea and coffee, muffins. There was a Trader Joes and Walgreens 1 minute down the road which was handy. Room was a little noisy from our neighbors tv but they turned it off earlyish which was good.

"Excellent place to stay; great continental breakfast"
LBWoody, 10 Décembre 2015

Our two night stay here was enjoyable. The grounds/gardens are very inviting. The rooms are comfortable, albeit a little narrow. The breakfast area offers more than most "free breakfast" motels. Rather than just the normal scrambled eggs, they had pre-prepared omelets and frittatas. They have a coffee machine that will prepare lattes, mochas etc. besides the normal coffee servers. The machine is available all day. All was in working order and the staff was friendly.

"GREAT PLACE TO STAY"
Loretta Helen R, 04 Décembre 2015

I have stayed at this property many times and I put my family and friends up here as well. It is close to many restaurants, gas, banks, shops all within walking distance. The staff takes great care to meet the visitor needs. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Everyone in my group exclaims about the great beds. Grounds, despite drout, are beautiful.

"expensive but very nice"
Georganne G, 30 Novembre 2015

It was a very nice hotel. The rate was very high, and it was during the off-season so it should have been much lower. The rooms are very modern. The breakfast was very good. The Jacuzzi was great because it was very hot. Many hotels do not heat their water properly.

"One cold night"
John S, 30 Novembre 2015

Some one disconnected one of the heater units prior to our arrival .There are two controls which made it confusing. Turns out , one of the two units was disconnected according to the maintenance person that came the second time

"Excellent property, great location and reasonable prices"
Philip C, 03 Novembre 2015

This property was a pleasant surprise! The grounds were like a garden! Room was excellent, up to date décor and great breakfast, friendly people. One of the best of the Best Western Plus properties we have found. Convenient to Santa Barbara without the extra prices associated with that city. Would recommend to any traveler.

"Nice place at a nice price"
davidgarrett2015, 01 Novembre 2015

The rooms are a bit small but the service is fine. Breakfast is pretty good and included in the price. The grounds and the pool are always very well kept. This is a good location if you are doing business in Goleta or Santa Barbara

"Another Good Stay"
CoastFan, 31 Octobre 2015

Check-in was a breeze. The room was spotlessly clean with a whisper-quiet AC/Heating unit, and one of the most efficient air exchange systems of all our hotel experiences. There was ample space and good lighting at the vanity. The water pressure was strong, and the water could get scalding hot. The towels brought back pleasant memories of an earlier stay, and I studied them for future linen shopping. While we knew some kids arrived late, we had no real issues with the situation. The flat panel was connected to the local HD cable system, and we had to call the front desk to decipher how the offscreen channel guide numbers matched up with the remote's ability to display the sizable number of channels available in the local array. There was (for us) ample walk around room, a writing table with a chair and with ports close-by, and still another chair. The microwave was set 'neath the flat panel, and the refrigerator was cup boarded inside the vanity. The free continental breakfast was pretty good (I was yummy noise surprised by one of my hot breakfast items), and there was good seating inside and outside the serving area. The grounds can make you glad to be there. Check-out was a breeze.

"Nice option to visit Santa Barbara"
juliecarvalho, 30 Octobre 2015

This is a very nice option if you want to visit Santa Barbara and spend less money with hotel. The hotel garden is beautiful and so are the rooms. Breakfast is delicious. There are plenty of parking spaces too. Its relatively close to santa barbara state street and all other attractions like the wineries, the pier, the zoo, the mission, museuns, etc.

"Excellent stay"
James H, 27 Octobre 2015

This past week has been all the more enjoyable with our stay at the Best Western Plus South Coast Inn. Not only was the staff exceptional and helpful, but the grounds were both beautiful and relaxing. Especially in the pool area, where our two grandsons (ages 4 & 6) loved the size and learned (from their PopPop) how to swim. The newly remodeled room and bathroom were an unexpected delight. We definitely will be returning.

"overpriced for early fliers"
Dunyazade, 21 Octobre 2015

This really is a lovely hotel, but not at all a good value for someone like me who simply wanted to stay close to the airport in order to have an easy little trip to catch a 6 a.m. flight. The "free breakfast" isn't available -- not even a muffin, nothing but very strange tasting coffee out of a machine. And the complementary airport shuttle doesn't begin running until 7 or 7:30 a.m. Next time I'll do my own due diligence and call to ask about the shuttle and breakfast hours so have to pay cab fare + breakfast on top of an expensive hotel room that I used only for a few hours (an excellent sleep, to be sure).

"A little gem"
Scottyness, 18 Octobre 2015

We stayed in this little gem of a hotel in late September as part of a touring holiday. Despite the ongoing renovations, this was a pleasant venue with clean, comfortable rooms and helpful friendly staff. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty with plenty of choice. We would take our coffee outside after we had eaten and drink this sitting in the patio outside, enjoying the sunshine. A relaxing, enjoyable start to our day. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and modern. The nearby Goleta beach was beautiful and almost deserted, and we spent a relaxing 2 days there. One thing though, it's advisable to wear shoes on the beach as we got oil on our feet, although we didn't see it in the sand. There are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and we had plenty of choice, without having to drive anywhere. We really enjoyed our time in Goleta and should we ever come back to California, would happily stay here again. Thank you!

"Nice rooms with everything you need at a great price"
PaloAltoHills, 17 Octobre 2015

My family enjoyed our stay at the Best Western this week while visiting UCSB. The room we had was newly refurbished, had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and a nice large TV. It had a smallish window but we weren't in town to stay in the room. The beds were comfortable with great pillows too. We typically stay at the Hampton Inn or the Goodland which are about $100 more on average per night. The Best Western is next door to the Goodland so we and enjoyed the Goodland's happy hour, dinner and ambiance in the evening and then had our free breakfast at the Best Western. I would certainly stay here again and would recommend the hotel to others who are visiting UCSB. The hotel has a fun garden area with bushes sculpted into animals and a nice big pool and patio area.

"Nicely furnished - Clean rooms"
CharlaAV711, 16 Octobre 2015

I recently stayed two nights at this hotel while I was in town for some meetings. The rooms are nicely furnished, good size and very clean. There are many amenities at this property including a microwave and refrigerator in the room and free Wi-Fi. Unlike other hotels I've stayed at, the Wi-Fi here actually worked very well - a nice plus. There's plenty of free parking in proximity to your room. A breakfast is included in the mornings, served just off the lobby, with a good amount of seating both inside and outside. The breakfast selection was a good of hot & cold foods. There's also a Trader Joe's just down the street which was a great stop after I learned I had a microwave and a refrigerator in the room. All in all a good place to stay.

"Great hotel for the price"
94judyi, 07 Octobre 2015

This hotel was convenient for our visit to the University of California Santa Barbara. I was happy that breakfast was included in the price. Hot eggs, sausage, a variety of coffees, juices, make your own toast, muffins, yogurt, cold cereal, bananas, etc. The room itself was quiet and the bed was comfortable. Lots of pillows!

"Great place to stay"
catherinevb1, 06 Octobre 2015

We have been staying at this property 2 to 3 times a year for the last 8 years. Friendly and professional staff. Clean rooms and great value for the price. We stay in the hotel apartment. Our grand children come and visit.

"A lovely clean well organized Hotel"
Sharon L, 05 Octobre 2015

The room was big with everything we needed. Breakfast was tasty lots of options to eat. Gardens are beautiful and the hotel is very well organized for visitors. We came for 9 days to visit our son at university and found a lovely place to stay.

"Good experience."
Hongjian L, 05 Octobre 2015

Very good and comfortable. However, if they can supply lunch and dinner, it will be much better. Also, there is not tooth brushes tool. I recommend that you can supply some, there would be perfect. Thanks

"Clean but basic"
Millin1, 02 Octobre 2015

Rooms were spacious and clean. Pool was more somewhere to cool off rather than swim. No restaurant on site and everywhere nearby closes at 9 except the bowling alley which is hell on earth unless you like being surrounded by students and music so loud you could be in a club! The hotel has renovations going on and the laundry and gym were out of use. Breakfast has quite a good choice and was decent quality. Plenty of parking.

"Clean, friendly, beautiful grounds"
859elleng, 28 Septembre 2015

Clean, updated room. Beautiful gardens. Friendly staff. My only negatives were the slow wi-fi that one phone couldn't connect to, breakfast food was warm, not hot, and only basic TV channels. The in room instructions for the TV are out of date, so could only find the basic few channels. Was told at checkout that the new instructions weren't back from the printer yet, but it seems like printing a half page of instructions from the office printer to leave by the TVs would take that much printing. Everything else was super nice, great location close to restaurants and shops if you need anything. Easy freeway access. Thank you.
