"Schönes Hotel für einen Städtetrip"

11/10/2018

Dear Philipp S. on behalf of all my colleagues and myself, thank you so much for filing such a complete review of your stay at our hotel with valet parking in downtown Quebec City. First and foremost, may I apologize for lacking the proper knowledge that would allow me to answer your comments in German in a legible and professional way? Back to the subjects of your review, we do offer a valet service at the cost of 26.00$ plus taxes per night with free, unlimited in-and-out access to the vehicle. That means that you only need to hand your keys over to our valet attendants, whom will take it from our drop-off zone on Rue du Roi, bring it to one of our secured lots and back where you left it as soon as you request them to do so. This prevents you from having to find a spot on your own in an unknown area and having to retrieve yourself each and every time you would need it. Although we do find this to be the most efficient way to park your car, there are some viable alternative like the parking under our Fresk, the building across the street and our front office personnel can efficiently guide you to those public parking. Then, we are proud to meet the ever-evolving needs of the modern travelers by providing our guests a vast array of high-quality equipment like a heated indoor pool, a gym, a coffee shop with a wine bar section and of course a free high speed WIFI connection available throughout out property. In-rooms amenities include mini-refrigerators, working space with a chair on wheels, a safe, iron and ironing boards, 40' HDTV with a selection of French and English channels as well as pay-per-view movies and Keurig K-cup coffee machine with free supply of regular, decaf and green tea. As for our beds, their great comfort is mainly due to the use of natural memory foam mattresses as well as silky deluxe triple sheets linen. These mattresses adapt to any type of body and sleep position by surrounding and supporting the whole body, ensuring a great and deep sleep each and every time. With that said, I would simply like to thank you one last time for this great review of your stay at our hotel with valet service in downtown Quebec City, hoping you will be back soon. Best regards!

Dear Hanoverian1968, in the name of all my colleagues and my own, I would like to thank you for this great review of your stay at our comfortable hotel near the Old Quebec City. First and foremost, I would like to apologize for lacking the proper knowledge that would allow me to answer your review in German in a professional and legible manner. Then, back to the content of your comment, you are right to write that we are located within easy walking distance to Quebec's main touristic area, the Old City. Actually, only a 15 minute stroll up Cote d'Abraham is all you need to reach Saint-John's gate, the main gateway through the fortification surrounding most of the touristic district. From there, all the most famous features you've ever heard of are just a stone's throw away, like the Battlefield Park on Plains of Abraham, the Citadel, the Observatory, Artillery Park and all the museums and many other attractions you may want to visit. To a different topic you raise in your review, I am glad to see that you enjoyed our restaurant, Bistro le 330, located in the hotel's atrium that serves both breakfast and dinner. Starting at 7:00 each day, breakfast is available to every guests either as an “a la carte” menu or American buffet and can be included in your rate if the reservation is done directly at the hotel over the phone, on our website or via the Best Western Central of reservation. For dinner, you may enjoy one of the many delicious items from our menu every evening between 5:00Pm and 10:00Pm, like our tasty tartars, gourmet poutine, fresh meat and fish and our famous thin crust pizzas, just to name a few. To conclude, I would simply like to thank you once more for filing such a praiseful review of your stay at our comfortable hotel near the Old Quebec City, looking forward to welcome you back soon. Kind regards!

Dear guest, we are pleased to acknowledge your good words regarding our hotel near Old Quebec City. I would first like to apologize for not being able to answer your comment in German, as my knowledge of this language is way insufficient to provide a clear and legible response. With that said, I could not agree more with your statement concerning the easy walking access to the Old City from our establishment, and the fact that driving up there, although a possibility, is not recommended. Walking from our doors to the start of the historical area is only 15 minutes, uphill should I mention, and will get you pass several great restaurants and pubs where you can stumble and enjoy great menus and local brews. If the “uphill” part seems a bit too harsh on your already tired legs, city busses have several routes that will get you right on top of the “plateau” with stops just a block away from us. Even better, Tours du Vieux Québec are proposing a Hop-on Hop-off tour of the Old Quebec City on a double decker bus with 12 stops located all around the historical district, one located just two blocks from our location, which is definitely the best way to have a glimpse of the many attractions and decide which ones you would like to further explore. Then, I would just like to give more details on the parking we offer at the hotel, which consists of a valet service that costs 25.00$ plus taxes per day with free, unlimited in-and-out access to your vehicle, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. So one last time, thank you very much for your review of our hotel near Old Quebec City, hoping that you will come and stay with us again on your next journey to our UNESCO World Heritage site. Kind regards!

Dear Traveler1330, thank you for commenting on your stay at our hotel in Quebec City Centre. I would like to begin this response by apologizing for been unable to answer your review in the language in which it was written, as my level of German would not be enough for it to be legible, even less professional. With that said, let me start my response by thanking you for mentioning the well-equipped rooms we provide our guests with, all of them been furnished with high-quality items such as natural memory foam mattresses, Danby mini-refrigerators, Keurig K-cup coffee machines, a safe and many other features to answer every need the modern may traveler have. But then, we did have serious, out of our control issue with one of our elevator which made for an unusual waiting time for our customers to go up and down our 6 floors and I would like to apologize to all our guests whose experience was hindered by this malfunction. But then, as I am writing this response, I just got words that the problem was fixed by our maintenance team and that both elevators are now working perfectly, with all necessary safety verifications made according to building code and all faulty equipment replaced in order to make sure this issue does not happen again. To conclude, I would like to thank you again for this review of your stay at our property, wishing that you will be back among us on your future trips to Quebec City. Best regards!

"Zentrale Lage, grosse Zimmer"

Zentrale Lage, grosse Zimmer.

Dear eliane_schumacher, reading your comment is very rewarding so I would like to thank you for sharing it with the entire tripadvisor community, as such complete and detailed comments is sure to help in their quest for a great hotel in Quebec City. I am sorry though that I am not able to respond to your comment in the same language as it was written, my German been not good enough to be as professional as it should be. As a starter, although you are right when you mention that there are a lots of café around the hotel for breakfast, our hotel has its own restaurant on site, Bistro le 330, that offers a huge variety of options for breakfast with its “a la carte” menu available every day form 7:00 and until 11:00 on weekdays and 12:00 on weekends. An American Buffet is also available on busier mornings, but the schedule for the buffet may vary, and dinner is served every night between 5:00Pm and 10:00Pm. On another subject, you actually commended us on all 3 features we emphasize in order to provide our guests with the great experience they seek; a welcoming, friendly and helpful guest service, extra-clean rooms and public area coupled with comfortable amenities. Need help with your luggage, your daily planning could use some insights from a knowledgeable local, or you simply need your room to be cleaned in a specific way? Our staff are here to help, so do not hesitate to get in touch with them. Lastly, I would like to thank you on more time for this generous review, and hope that you will join us again on your next trip to beautiful Quebec City, l'Accent d'Amérique! Best regards, Jean-Pierre Gagné – Hospitality and Guest Experience Manager

"Sauberes Best Western in guter Lage in Gehweite zur Altstadt"

4
30/10/2016

Freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal, saubere Zimmer mit üblichem Best Western Standard. Gute Betten und Dusche. WLAN gratis vorhanden.

Dear kitz-travellers, I wish to express my gratitude, and the one of our entire staff, for this complete and resourceful review of your experience at Best Western PLUS City Centre, where you will find the best service and accommodation at the lowest price. First, guest service is a feature we want to emphasize in order for our visitors to feel like they are at home and to assure them that their needs are taken care of, which I am glad you noticed and included in your review. I can assure you that those good comments have been passed on to them, and they will surely serve as motivation for them to keep up the good work they are already doing. Second, parking at the hotel is not as much a hassle as it first seem, with valet parking available at the costs of 24.00$ plus taxes per night, with free unlimited in-and-out access privilege to your vehicle. In short, you do not have to go around town looking for a parking spot and walk back to your car every time you may need it, as our dedicated valet staff will bring right in front of the hotel as many time as you want. If this option does not suits your needs, there are indeed several public parking near the hotel where you can go and park your car yourself, just like the one you describe in your comments, but restrictions, opening hours and rates do vary from one lot to the other. Both front desk agents and valets can guide you to these spots with precise directions if you need, as they are dedicated in offering you the most suitable option for you to best enjoy what Quebec City has to offer. Speaking of which, our spacious rooms offers all the usual commodity a traveler may need, from comfortable natural memory foam mattresses to high-end product like shampoo and soap, through cable 40'' TV or our mini-refrigerators, without forgetting our convenient coffee maker, available with complimentary coffee in all of our rooms. Of course, living in the 21st century requires connection to the web, and our Free high speed WIFI connection does just that, with an even higher speed connection available at the cost of 4.95$ plus taxes per 24 hours. An indoor pool, a hot tub and an exercise room are also at your disposal every day from 6:30Am through 10:00Pm, with the last hour of operation reserved for adults. Once again dear guest, thank you so very much for providing the TripAdvisor community such a thorough and profitable review of your stay with us, and I sure hope that you will be with us once more when you will be returning to beautiful Quebec City. Best regards, Jean-Pierre Gagne – Hospitality and Guest Experience Manager

Dear Rita K, thank you for filing a comment regarding your recent stay with us, and I am sorry that I am not able to answer your comment in German. On behalf of the entire team here at Best Western PLUS City Centre, I apologize for not having exceeded your expectations while visiting our hotel. It is important to get feedback from our guests in order to better the product we offer, and measures will be taken to correct the features we feel can be improved. Concerning the amount of 150.00$ CAD that was charged on your credit card after your departure for non-compliance to our non-smoking policy, these are not applied lightly. We are proud to be a non-smoking establishment since 2008, and this is a feature we take very seriously. It is very important to check every hotel policy when you make your reservation, such as smoking policies, parking fees and all the different amenities and services that are included or not with your reservation, as they will differ from one hotel to another. As for your comment regarding the window that you would have smashed, I might have miss-translated your comment, but I do not see that a window was smashed in the room you occupied, nor that you were accused of it, nor charged for having broken a window. I am sorry if that is what was understood, as we never meant to imply your involvement in such an act. Once again, I am sorry you felt you were wrongly charged for having smoked in the room when you state you did not, but evidence tend to prove that we were in our rights to apply the charge for non-compliance to our non-smoking policy, which is something we do take very seriously, but not something we apply lightly. Kind regards, Jean-Pierre Gagne – Hospitality and Guest Experience Manager

"Gute Lage, grosse Zimmer"

25/10/2016

Dear 19Steve62, thank you so very much for this thorough and really helpful review concerning your recent visit at Best Western PLUS City Centre Quebec. E dearly value each input we receive from our customers, as they provide us with valuable details on what we are doing great and what aspect we need to improve on. I would like to apologize though, as I am not able to give you an answer in the same language you originally wrote it, as my German is too insufficient to provide a professional, even legible answer. First and foremost, I am delighted to read that you were greeted in a friendly fashion by our front desk staff and our valet, as we try and emphasize this aspect of our product in order to give a good first impression that will last for the whole duration of your stay. Our front desk staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to carry on this mission, whether it is to respond to a demand you may have, or answering any questions related to your visit to Quebec City, for example booking a guided bus tour, recommending a restaurant that best suits your appetite, or to show you the way around town on a map, so do not hesitate to seek their help. Second, it is true that our valet service, which costs 24.00$ plus taxes per day with free unlimited in-and-out access privilege is the most convenient option you may think of for parking your car. Even more, this prevents you from having to go back and forth with your vehicle every time you may need it, as our dedicated valet team will drop it right in front of the hotel and bring it back to one of the nearby lots we use, all at no extra expense. Last but not the least, I must admit that I agree with you when you say that we are ideally located, as we are just a few steps away from the main entrance to the Old Quebec, Saint-John's gate, 1.3Km away from our front door. From there, most of the famous landmarks of Quebec City are within reach, like the Fortifications, the Parliament, The battlefield Park of Plaines d'Abraham, the Château Frontenac that overlooks Quartier Petit-Champlain, the oldest part of Quebec City, rendered famous by its copper stone streets and its 17 century architecture. While I'm at it, that gorgeous part of town is host to the Cruise terminal, which is one of the only Ship terminal in the world that is located right at the heart of the touristic centre. The immediate area where the hotel is located, Quartier Nouvo Saint-Roch, is the new place to be while visiting Quebec City, with its multitude of trendy restaurants offering cuisines from a young generation of creative chefs, bars with unique and fun concepts, micro-breweries, show venues for all kind of spectators, from theatre plays to alternative rock shows. Finaly, I would like to let every tripadvisor know that, in a constant effort to keep our environment up to the young and vibrant environment it is now known for, promoters are undertaking a major project of revitalization of Quartier Nouvo Saint-Roch and its beating heart, Place Jacques-Cartier, our front door neighbor. Therefore, constructions can be heard during the week between 7:00Am and 5:00Pm and, although this situation is totally out of our control, we would like to apologize to our valued guests for any impact it may have on their stay, and remind them that our front desk staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to make their stay as good as it can. Once again, thank you for this very complete and helpful review of our property, and I truly hope that we will be your destination of choice for your next visit to beautiful Quebec City, l'Accent d'Amerique. Kind regards, Jean-Pierre Gagne – Hospitality and Guest Experience Manager.

"Angenehmes Stadthotel - nicht in der Altstadt !"

15/09/2016

Haben 4 Nächte anfangs Sept. 2016 dort verbracht.

Lieber Charly, thank you for this most complete review about your stay at the Best Western Plus City Centre Quebec. I used the google translate tool to read it as I unfortunately don't speak Deutsch. Your business is very important to us and we value your feedback. By telling us what you liked about your stay and how we can improve, you are helping us deliver a superior experience for you and other guests in the future. Concerning our location, according to Google Maps, there are in fact 1.2 km (0.75 miles) that separates our property from the entrance of the Old City. The google pedestrian tool estimate this walk to 15 minutes. Downtown Quebec City is divided in 2 main parts: the upper and the lower part. We like to think that our location provides the best of both worlds. As we are not directly inside the walls of the old city, but near of it, we are easier to drive to because you avoid the vey singular street configuration of the historic Old Quebec. The public bus (RTC) is a very good option as it passes right in front of the hotel and costs only 3.50$ per adults. A taxi cab ride from our hotel to the entrance of the Old City cost about 10$. So depending on guests needs, both taxi cab and public bus transportation are cheap solutions if you prefer not to walk. Now, for the benefit of all travellers, please note that as part of on-going efforts to improve the St-Roch district, revitalizing work is currently underway at the Place Jacques Cartier located in front of our hotel. The active phase of the work is Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm. Consequently, the sound level may be slightly higher during this period. While this is completely out of our control, we would like to apologize for any possible inconvenience. To conclude, I want to thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It was a true pleasure to have you stay with us and we hope you will visit us again the next time you are in Quebec City. Auf Wiedersehen! Geneviève Hébert, Quality Product & Guest Service

Lieber AndreLie, thank you for this positive review about your stay at the Best Western Plus City Centre Quebec. I used google translate tool to read it as I unfortunately don't speak Deutsch. Comfort, Cleanliness and service are our top priorities and when we receive comments such as yours it confirms that our efforts to constantly improve our services are not made in vain. We are glad you appreciated our onsite restaurant for breakfast and evening also. Concerning our location, according to Google Maps, there is actually 1.2 km that separates our property from the entrance of the Old City. However, travelers have to go up the hill to get to this part of the City from the hotel. Depending on traveler's skills, we always tell our guests that we are located 15 minutes by walk from the Old City as it is uphill to go. And then, to come back, it is about 10 minutes as you go down the hill. Undeniably, our central location is a not to be missed benefit of our hotel. It offers the opportunity for our customers to experience a typical Quebec urban world and being housed within walking distance of the major attractions. This being said, it should be noted that our neighbor, Place Jacques-Cartier, the turning point of the city center is getting a major makeover. In fact, from Monday to Friday from 7am to 17h, the noise level may be higher than usual. We work daily to provide the best stay possible to our customers and our front desk staff is at your disposal for any comments, concerns or information requests. Again, thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It was a true pleasure to have you stay with us and we hope you will visit us again the next time you are in Quebec City. Best regards, Geneviève Hébert, Quality Product & Guest Service Manager

"Gutes Hotel um Quebec zu erkunden"

4
08/06/2016

Indeed, travelers appreciate the fact that we are located within walking distance of most major attractions and events in the beautiful city of Quebec such as the Old City, the Old Port, the cruise terminal, the Parliament Hill, the convention center and many more! The Old Quebec district is located in the upper part of the city so travelers have to go up the hill to get to this part of the City from our hotel. According to Google Maps, there is actually 1.2 km (0.75 miles) that separates our property from the entrance of the Old City. Concerning our valet parking service price, it is actually 24$ plus taxes per night per vehicle. So if you had 1 vehicle for 2 nights, or 2 vehicles for one night, yes, the total including taxes would be 55.19$ CAD. Now, I would like to take the opportunity to advise all travellers about some constructions going on at our neighbor, the Place Jacques-Cartier, the turning point of the city center which is getting a major makeover. In fact, from Monday to Friday from 7am to 17h, the noise level may be higher than usual. We work daily to provide the best stay possible to our customers and our front desk staff is at your disposal for any comments, concerns or information requests. Again, we thank you for this generous review and hope you will stay with us again in the future. Best regards. Geneviève Hébert, Quality Product & Guest Service Manager

"Schönes Hotel in guter Lage"

Bonjour! Thank you for this positive and complete review about your stay at the Best Western Plus City Centre Quebec. I used google translate tool to read it as I unfortunately don't speak Deutsch. Comfort, Cleanliness and service are our top priorities and when we receive comments such as yours it confirms that our efforts to constantly improve our services are not made in vain. I am proudly passing on your comments to the entire team knowing that it will serve as an inspiration to continue our constant efforts. We are glad you appreciated our onsite restaurant that indeed, provide multiple options for gluten sensible guests. A good way to save a few steps is to take the public transportation for about 3.25$ per person or to share a taxi-cab for about 10$ to go, and then walk around and come back to the hotel by walk! We are happy that you enjoyed our convenient location and our great neighbourhood that is very entertaining. Within 2 minutes walk, our clients have access to many restaurants, shops and even theaters. Nouvo St-Roch district has a much diversified arts and entertainments program all year long. And you are right; we are in the hot spot for foodies and is worth being discovered!

Bonjour! Thank you for this great and most complete review about your stay at the Best Western Plus City Centre Quebec. I used google translate tool to read it as I unfortunately don't speak Deutsch. I appreciate that you took the time to post it. I am especially happy to hear that you appreciated our dedicated, efficient and multilingual staff members while handling your concerns. We strive to ensure that our staff always takes time to interact with guests by suggesting activities, recommending restaurants, showing directions, etc. When working in service like we do, recognition is as important as the salary. We are continuously improving our level performance to offer our customers the most amazing experience as possible. Also, as you mentioned, I would like to advise the tripadvisor community that our neighbor is getting a major makeover. In fact, a 20 story building and an underground parking is actually in construction at the Jacques-Cartier Place, promising to become the center stage of downtown Quebec. We are very excited about those great news. We work daily to minimize the construction impact on the high quality of service and sleep we always provide. Of course, noise could be louder from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, but we are always available to answer all requests or any concerns you may have. We look forward to welcome you again when you will be back in our beautiful city. Best regards.

"Super Hotel"
