Best Western Plus Longbranch Hotel & Convention Center

We had an excellent stay. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were well kept and clean. My favorite part was the breakfast. It was amazing and had many different options. I would definitely recommend the Longbranch hotel. It is worth the cost for sure!

The hotel was super clean with friendly staff. The hotel accommodated a large group and everyone was very happy. I will be returning and I've already recommended to others. The building inside was unique and not like a cookie cutter hotel.

This hotel was in a great location. Check-in was very easy, the team member was very helpful and friendly. The room was nice and clean. It had everything that you would need. The hotel also had a restaurant in the hotel that was delicious. It is a Mexican restaurant and the staff was great. I would definitely stay there again.

I travel 3 days a week for my job. I've stayed at almost all of the hotels in the area. I keep coming back to the Longbranch. Not because of price. But service. Service before during and after the sale. I'm treated like a king there and will continue to stay

Our first room had no heat at all. The second room did not have heat until we checked into it, they then turn on heat access from the front desk. It took until the next morning before the room was even warm as it was negative degrees outside so the room was about 20° when we gained access. Mind you the hotel is multiple buildings, so if you stay near the pool you will need to go to a different building each time you have an issue. There was also a large spider in one of the beds along with webs all over the ceiling. Worst hotel we have stayed at in at least the last 5 years.

Came and stayed for a medical appointment.. I really liked the availability of an on sight restaurant and bar with top shelf liquor. The room was clean and great location with short distance to pool and hot tub area ( pool was nice and warm). Also , a short distance was free breakfast that was delicious… all and all.. our stay was comfortable and relaxing at a very reasonable price…

The room was clean and updated. Breakfast was delicious and the fitness center was I nice suprised! It's a full fitness center. It would have been nice if the breakfast buffet would have been available till 10 instead of only 9 but the food was delicious

Room was clean. Pool area and breakfast area were clean and comfortable. I don't like the no cleaning idea, having garbage piled up is gross! Breakfast wasn't refilled so we didn't get to eat. Price was WAY overpriced.

My husband and I selected this older hotel because of its proximity to his old high school and the reunion activities we were attending. We had also stayed there many years ago and were pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. Our room was spacious and the queen size bed was so comfortable! The bathroom was small and felt cramped. It's unfortunate that the bathtub did not have grab bars which would make it easier to get in and out. Eliminating the little plastic bottles of toiletries and soap would give it a cleaner look. The hot breakfast was good and strong paper plates, bowls, and cups were used in lieu of plastic or styrofoam ones.

Had our ceremony and reception there. We stayed two nights(one night free) the hotel bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was do delicious. Everything about our stay was amazing

Super friendly front desk staff. Very comfortable room with all proper amenities, i.e. plenty of towels (other hotels we've stayed in lately seem to be giving TWO towels?). Nice updated decor. Didn't take advantage of the breakfast or fitness center so can't comment on that.

This hotel was great for the kids, with a pool/hot tub and sauna, and games in the atrium. The main drawback was I found it impossible to rinse it my hair in the shower. They have eco showerheads with terrible water pressure no matter what setting you use. The shower is also weirdly shaped, like on a cruise ship with sloping sides and nowhere to put soap or shampoo bottles. This was a regular 2 queen room. The pictures of a nice big tiles shower must be suites.

We had an exceptional experience here. It started with manager Doug upgrading our room given some walking issues and honoring our price. The room was clean with a comfortable bed and pillows. It was close to the pool which was no problem on a week night. The pool was at a warm temperature for swimming which was a nice change from most hotels that keep it too cold. Breakfast was better than most with a very spacious eating area. The street address actually starts in the plaza in case your GPS takes you there.

Stayed for a baseball tourney. Boys had plenty of space to hang out and the pool area bar was great for the parents. The pool was clean and the games in the atrium were entertaining. The hotel has a lot of restaurants within walking distance.

This hotel is awful. Walked into room and poop stains on toilet. Called to let them know and they said that they would let a manager know when they can. That was about it. Nobody followed up. No one came to clean the room. Been here for almost 5 days and left garbage outside my door the second day. By the fourth day, the garbage still wasn't picked up from in front of my door. Even though housekeeping was walking back-and-forth, I saw their carts. Hair all around tub. Bartender is in the worst mood ever. She was rolling her eyes when she saw me sit down. Windows all over are covered in bird poop in atrium. Doesn't seem like anyone cares about this hotel or anyone that's staying here. Jacked up prices to $100 more than what's said online due to us being on a tournament. That's fine but at least acknowledge us. Called to speak to a manager there's not one on site.

When we first pulled up to this hotel it looked like an abandoned hotel from the 80's I wish I could tell you otherwise but it was actually kind of funny. Then when you walk in the lobby I thought oh this is actually sort of nice. They have breakfast and some nice furniture and tvs everywhere. Then when we head over to a SEPARATE building that has bugs inside of it and looks horrendous we check in our room. It smells like weed. The pull out couch has bugs on it and the bathroom shower head is moldy. Honestly I would rather sleep in a motel 6 or honestly anything else. We left so quick. Other then the pool witch is big and the lobby it looks like and smells like a abandoned hotel from the 60's.

Overnight stay in town for funeral. Unable to try out any of the amenities. Check in was pleasant and easy received text message ahead of arrival and was able to complete some ahead. Room was ready around 130 pm and appreciate allowing us to check in early. Room was clean and functional. Good choices near by for a quick bite to eat

Staff was very friendly and attentive, Evening concierge (lady) was especially nice and welcoming. Room was clean, nice pool, sauna and bar. Skyway and free breakfast as well made for a pleasant stay.

Our hotel room was very nice, clean and comfortable. And the people who served us at the front desk, bar and breakfast were all very helpful, friendly and courteous. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. And we got a voucher on check-in which was worth almost the price of our two drinks at the bar--which means drinks at the bar are very reasonable! Overall, it was a great stay. The only other comment I would have is that some of the public areas seem dated. And one "complaint" is that the skywalk that leads from the main hotel to the breakfast area and pool is not heated. But those are minor, and we would definitely return.

We gathered at this hotel with friends for new years. They had a great space outside the pool area where we could set up our pot luck and play games. Unfortunately they told us we had to leave that space by 10 pm… on New Year's Eve… what we later found out was that someone staying several rooms away from the space had been unhappy with noise from one of the rooms in our party. That room we were easily able to shift kids out of and into another room. That same lady apparently came out of her room to yell at our children in ONLY pajama pants. While all of this was happening, the manager was more worried about following some of our party around and threatening to call the police as we cleaned up our space to exactly how we found it. We went to check out their conference rooms where they said parties had booked the space to stay out later and those parties had children running around through the lobby with noise makers with no notice of needing to be quiet. The parties were very kind and even welcomed us in but the concern was the manager who had yelled at us was right there the whole time the noise was growing.

This hotel gave this family this experience and ruined a little girls birthday: Last night was Isla's 9th birthday party. Weeks ago she sat down and made a list of all the places/things she wanted to do. She narrowed it down to a hotel/pool party with a sleepover. We had been to a number of birthday parties at Best Western Plus Longbranch Hotel & Convention Center and had a lot of fun so we decided to go there. We arrived around 3pm and started to set up. Mind you, this wasn't a big party. Our setup consisted of one table, about 10 balloons, and enough plates for 9 people. The presents and other stuff was in the hotel room we had booked. Again, this was by no means a big party. Around 4:15, before the kids had even fully arrived, staff approached us. They told us the owner saw us setting up on the security camera (from home) and that having a party was against the rules and handed us a highlighted print-out of what we signed. We told them we had been multiple parties at this location and there were 3 additional parties actually happening at the same time in the same room. None of them were being approached. We said we could take the party favors down and just let the girls swim and play, they then told us only registered guests can even be in the hotel. They said unless people have paid for a room they can NOT be on the premises. I said "so people cannot have visitors at all in your hotel?" to which they confirmed. Again I tried to work with them as Isla looked crushed that we had to stop her birthday. I again reminded them there were THREE other parties going on at that time and asked why we were the only ones being asked to leave. They had no answer. We were trying to figure out what to do and 15 minutes later staff approached again and said that we had 10 minutes to disperse the party (8 little girls swimming) or we'd be escorted from the premises. Twice I went to the front desk and tried to speak with a manager or something to make this party happen. Twice I was told there was no wiggle room and our party could not happen and anyone not staying at the hotel was forbidden from being inside. I was finally able to speak to a manager on the phone and asked if we could get a refund on the room because we had no reason to stay any longer. She was quite rude in her refusal saying we already checked in and us wanting to "break the rules" wasn't a valid reason for a refund. Our "party", which was 9 little girls trying to celebrate Isla, was targeted by staff with absolutely no willingness to work with us. The irony of the whole evening is that Isla's birthday was Grinch themed. The Longbranch Hotel, 2 weeks before Christmas, ended a 9-year-old's birthday before it got started while other parties (two of which were bigger, and louder) were allowed to rage on uninterrupted. I never ask people to share my message(s) but this time I'm asking. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had and I want everyone to know. Thanks for reading my rant.

The Best Western Longbranch was a great hotel. The pool was very nice. The atrium with the different games was enjoyed by my grandson. The hotel is very clean and the staff were amazing. Our room was very clean and comfortable.

The pool, hot tub and fitness center were amazing and definitely a reason to return. There was a nice variety of food for breakfast. The room walls are a tad thin and the water pressure needs help but very clean and comfy beds.

This hotel was in a perfect location surrounded by plenty of restaurant options and Starbucks! They had an awesome pool, hot tub and sauna which was unexpected. In addition they had an atrium with a pool table and foosball and a bar! The staff was courteous and helpful.

The staff was so friendly and exceeded our expectations. I definitely would stay there again. When our cell phone was accidentally left in the room, I called the front desk and they immediately sent the maid to check for it. It was found and I had a very relieved husband!

Very nice place. Staff were awesome! Jane Francis was very friendly! Pool area had so much to do… including pool, foos ball and arcade games and awesome breakfast… which included scrambled eggs, sausage and hash browns. Very clean rooms. I am a little fussy about my coffee but even the coffee was great! The bed was awesome. Well worth the money and would definitely stay here again.

What a great sleep I got after a hard day of work. The facilities there are great. Hot tub to relax the muscles and a dry sauna to help with my breathing. I don't sleep well these days, but that bed gave a amazing night's rest

This was a good choice for those wanting something clean and of good value, outside of the cookie cutter hotel. Breakfast area was very nice with numerous seating options, and a good choice of real (not pre-packaged) food. A well maintained property.

Great location. Hotel suite was great for a family of 5 and customer service was excellent. Main lobby & breakfast area were clean. The hotel suite was dated and not as clean as I'd expect. Debris on floor and large spider web in shower.

We've stayed several times in our travels to Cedar Rapids. Always accommodating. Super friendly staff…very hospitable. Hot complimentary breakfast. We always enjoy our visits and have fun. I highly suggest the Membership Rewards program!

The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I slept well with no noise disturbances. Staff was welcoming. Plenty of parking spaces, and numerous restaurants nearby. Good breakfast choices. Would gladly stay again.

The front desk woman was very friendly and helpful when we were checking in. The woman who checked us out was also very nice. We didn't catch either of their names. We were given an $11 voucher to use towards the bar or front desk drinks and snacks. That was a very nice perk. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The hotel is a little older but the rooms and common areas were clean and in good condition. The included breakfast was good and the health spa was exceptional and excellent for getting in a work out. I didn't use them but the pool, jacuzzi, and sauna appeared to also be clean. There is a nice little game room for guests. The standout feature at this hotel in my opinion is the staff. The front desk, housekeeping, breakfast and every staff member encountered was extremely helpful, courteous, polite, knowledgeable and just genuinely friendly. The staff at this hotel made the stay very enjoyable. Decent place and value for the money.

This property does not provide standard guest services . No housekeeping, no trash, no fresh towels, no coffee replenished, unless you specifically request it . No notification on the website or at the front desk informs you of this policy. Services advertised (shuttle) are not available. Also you must ask for your heating to be turned on since they control it at the front desk. If you ask why your room was not made up or you have no heat (controlled by front desk) they tell you it is your fault because you didn't request it and they have no one to do it for you. Save your money there are other nice properties around it. FYI its $35 from airport on lyft so that and no service means this is a poor choice for a stay. I guess BW no longer enforces their standards

Literally. I drive an EV, and it's STILL one of the very few hotels in town that has chargers available, both for Teslas and, you know, the rest of us. Also, the room was spotless, the fan on the heat/AC was quiet, the mattress firm and the covers cozy. Didn't try the breakfast, but had the coffee on the way out, which was good.

We were very pleased with our stay. The room was clean and inviting. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with a nice variety of hot and cold food options; the coffee at breakfast was tasty also.

Thanks for the great stay. We stayed 3 nights. Room was clean and comfortable. Pool and hot tub were perfect. Breakfast was delicious every morning. We needed some extras like plates, silverware, towels and toilet paper. They gave us all we needed and within minutes. Great stay and would definitely stay again

I had high hopes for this place but it was a let down. The only positive was the atrium building. It had a pool table, foosball table and dart board so the kids had something to do. The pool and gym in that building are nice too. Rest of the property is run down. The dumpsters in the middle of the main parking lot stunk so bad that if you drove by even with the car windows up it still smelled like something was decomposing. The room was damp and musty. There was a large bug in our room that my husband said might have been a roach but it was late at night and we knew the hotel was sold out so no point in asking to be moved. We checked the room and found no other bugs. The morning breakfast only goes until 9am even on weekends. Waffle mix was out by 830. Everything was running low at 830. I asked the one lady they had working if she could refill at least the milk and the eggs which she did but she was frazzled and appeared to be there alone even though hotel was sold out. The bar only serves jacks frozen pizza. No food on property otherwise.

This hotel has water pressure problems. Toilet backed up with waste that was not my own (had only arrived and not really used it). Night staff person was good about managing it and cleaning it, but manager was rather rude in handling my complaint. Had 2 other maintenance issues during my stay. Rooms however are well appointed (fridge, microwave, good coffee, quiet A/C, good bed) and clean. Pool and whirlpool not that clean however—they get heavy use and water seemed cloudy.

Everyone there is amazing!!! I had my wedding and reception there and it was perfect! They were all very accommodating and made our day extremely special (love the announcement on the TV's in the rooms with our names on it!) Although they were short staffed for the food, everything was top notch, on time, and all of our guests raved about the buffet. The breakfast the next morning again was very short staffed but that didn't affect the amount of food available, the quality of food or anything. EVERYTHING was great! Would highly recommend this hotel for your events or even just a night's stay. The rooms were very nice, comfortable beds and CLEAN!!!

My family stayed here 3 times for Baseball tourneys. Great location, big rooms, impeccable customer service. They go above and beyond to make your experience relaxing. Rooms to rent for large gatherings, facilities onsite.

Our stay was perfect as most all Best Westerns are! Everything clean, breakfast was delicious, showers were clean and hot and the price was right! Will always choose BW!! My only objection is there is not enough coffee packets in the room.

We spent three nights here recently. Our room was quiet, as was the entire facility while we were there. The bed was comfortable. The pool is adjacent to an arcade type area and I have to say, this is about the cleanest pool we have seen at a hotel in ages. Really nice. There is also a spa and a dry sauna. The area is a bit of a hike down a pedestrian skybridge. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Stayed one night - quick check-in late at night. Room could have been cleaner - found coffee cup and straw next to bed. Heat/AC power button was broke, Room was good size. Free breakfast was hot and tasted good.

Waited at front desk for 15 minutes for someone to show up she was locking the pool up then got defensive as to why we were upset.Then the person behind us answered a call and said he was waiting 15 minutes and she continued to say she wasn't gone that long. After that put card in credit card reader and it wouldn't read chip so smarted off and said to swipe it in a smart tone. Air conditioning didn't work in room also

Our stay was uneventful. We used the quick check in app the day before and that was nice as we arrived late. The room was comfortable and we were on the fourth floor which was peaceful and close to the sky walk you take to the pool/breakfast area. There were a lot a breakfast choices and I say this of all hotels serving breakfast: please offer healthier choices like more fresh fruit/boiled eggs/whole grain bread. The food was good but high in fat. When you're traveling some of those food items can really slow you down. And always, make the coffee good and strong! Just my opinion. Overall, a nice stay. This is our second time staying as we were passing through on our way to another destination.

You can tell that it's an older hotel but they did a really good job on the remodel. Very nice staff and clean rooms. Restaurant wasn't open, but the pizza at the bar was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was really good to. Beds were comfy

This hotel's staff were all amazing and very wonderful and the hotel was very wonderful the atmosphere of the hotel made me smile the entire time that i stayed there the breakfast was terrific and the staff was the best part for me

I was definitely impressed with the overall look of the hotel. It was very inviting and newly updated. The room was wonderful and fully met our expectations. The breakfast was the only thing I was dissatisfied with and would recommend maybe just ordering breakfast rather than the buffet option that was provided. Otherwise, I definitely recommend this hotel!

We haven't stayed since the rooms have been remodeled. Very nice updates. Not sure why the lounge by pool not open on Saturday evenings. Would have made stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was good. Too much food made up at one time. This made food mushy and not hot. Used to have serving dishes filled throughout breakfast and was always fresh and hot.

Clean. Quiet. Excellent breakfast. Location was perfect for where we planned to go. Front desk was helpful and polite. Building was well kept. Hidden behind the shopping area, kept traffic noise to minimum. We will be back next year. Would highly recommend.

Great place for family gathering. Pool, game and lounge area was a great area for family to gather. Heater was quiet, room temperature held steady. Hot breakfast was excellent. Noon checkout gave grandkids to use all amenities.

This place was an interesting cluster of buildings. By far, one of the best rooms we have had anywhere in the last 3 years. The best in C.R. The staff was great even though the Longbranch part was moved to the pool building. we were pleased to eat breakfast with the Augustana swim team even though I am a 89 Kohawk.

We were registered before we arrived, and checked on after we settled in. They respected our health rights instead of imposing a blanket Rona mandate. We had meat, eggs, and milk every day of our stay. The pool, sauna, and hot tub was open throughout our stay. They checked on us by text and brought a new remote and non-fake pillow as we requested. We tipped her and our house keeper!!

I am a day sleeper and asked for a quite area. I was given just that the room was comfortable, close to the breakfast area, The food was cooked to order and very delicious. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were awsome.

This was an amazing friendly visit! The breakfast was made to order and delicious! The staff were super nice and friendly and the rooms were cozy. Especially our suite which allowed us to have all our of our family together for good times!

We stayed for one of our 2 nights booked and the hotel understanding person at the desk canceled our 2nd night for us. I cannot review the main hotel building, because our rooms were in the building behind it which also houses a gym in the 1st floor and on the 2nd floor, where one of our rooms was located there is a large bar/recreation area. The area outside our rooms was full of adults drinking, smoking, and talking very loudly (similar to being in a bar) while children all ages ran all over the place in that area, the halls, & the stairwells. The man at the gym area desk told me he had to lock the door between the gym and the hotel lobby because kids kept running in and out of there after he told them they couldn't be in there. I am not blaming the hotel for the guests kids but it does tell you what kind of people are staying here. This is the 1st best western I've stayed at where the police were called to come in and make people leave due to noise. Our room was directly across from the ice & vending machines with no barrier wall or door to block the sound, so when someone decided to fill a cooler at 1am we heard every fill up and dump into the cooler that they made. The seal around the door is nonexistent so that the light from the hall shines right into your room all night. Furniture is dated but comfortable and in good condition. The beds are firm with 4 small pillows. Breakfast was standard hotel food. If you want a loud, rowdy night stay here, if you want quiet look elsewhere. Not really what I've come to expect from the Best Western Plus, or from the price.

This hotel is the perfect place for large families or groups of friends. The pool is large and the atrium has lots of space for everyone to gather. We also enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. ( I skipped the gym, but it was nice!) The rooms were clean and the breakfast was AWESOME! It's been so long since we enjoyed a hot breakfast at a hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly and so easy to talk to. We will be staying here again.

This was probably one of the best hotel experiences we've had. The room was clean and comfortable, the facilities were all clean and the breakfast was really good! All employees I came across were kind and helpful! Great job!

Over the past couple months I took several trips to Cedar Rapids and came back to stay here every time. Hands down a great experience. The admin and staff were wonderful and cared about our experience as if we were family. They were accommodating and clear and the housekeeping staff were always prompt and super friendly. The rooms were very clean and up to date with power and usb access all over the room. The first time I stayed in a double bed room and the next time stayed several weeks in a suite with kitchenette and actually had a really lovely view of a forested hill. The gym is awesome and opens early and closes late so very accessible. As far as hotels in the area, and unlike others in the vicinity, this hotel was in walking distance of lots of stores and places to eat.

Be ready for a gigantic Hot breakfast and a comfortable room. The staff are very friendly. Shopping Mall a block away with some great restaurants. But this is not Heaven, It's IOWA. Enjoy your stay I do every time!

We rate the stay/ hotel a 5. It was a great hotel, we would have loved a brochure about attractions and food around the area. Even local residents favorite places to go. Also we did not really like that the pool closed at 10..

So the hotel was actually VERY nice, if a little disjointed. It's a fitness center, but also an event space, but also a hotel, but also it's in two different buildings connected by a skywalk. A little confusing. Our stay was pretty good, our room was close to the pool and the breakfast area. The room was clean, but very tight. It was nicely decorated, the only thing out of place was the older style tub that leaked. And I found tums underneath the bed that must have been left by the last guest. Our only dissatisfaction was that some of the hotel guests were smoking marijuana right outside the building and we had to walk by them with my two children. Not the hotel's fault by any means but still unsavory. We would stay again.

Doubled the price of the room for Little League Baseball state tourney. Didn't have a choice if we wanted to be our Grandson's team. Have had better service at a Super 8 for far less money. Very disappointed in the service with the money we had to pay

We stayed for 2 nights mid week and everything went smoothly. Everyone at the front desk was helpful and friendly during our stay. The breakfast area was clean and we enjoyed the options. The pool area was a good size, the kids enjoyed it and we would stay here again.

Overall I agree with other reviewers about this hotel. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Check in was went smooth, but I was a little annoyed that being a Best Western Rewards "Diamond" level member that the woman at the front desk made no mention of it during check in. Also I'm supposed to get extra points for each stay and no mention of that was made either. This isn't a deal breaker by any means, but every other BW we have stayed at these things were covered at check in. We went down to the bar / breakfast area in the evening to have a drink which was made very well. What found annoying was the light dinner / snack foods they have. I decided to have the Mac and Cheese. It's Kraft Easy Mac & Cheese. The bartender simply dumped it in a paper bowl and nuked it. I don't mind Kraft Mac & Cheese, but it should be listed on the menu that way. Likewise my wife ordered a sausage and pepperoni pizza. It was I think a "Jacks" frozen pizza cooked in one of those small bar pizza ovens. Again it should be listed on the menu it's frozen pizza. People deserve to know exactly what they are getting. I mean I was expecting mac & cheese made in their kitchen and the same when it came to the pizza. We needed to get an early start the next day so we did not have the free breakfast. All in all we had a good over night stay and would stay here again. My complaints are not things that one should see as reasons not to stay at this hotel. The hotel is clean and well maintained.

Checkin was a breeze. Very friendly and helpful desk clerk. Comfortable bed and good, hot breakfast. Reasonably priced especially for all of the available amenities this hotel had to offer. Would definitely stay here again.

The positives were the nice staff members and gym. The room smelled like smoke. I reported it on three different occasions. Manger texting me said it would be reviewed and cleaned. It wasn't cleaned. (I think the old COVID excuse which doesn't make sense). They did drop off some machine when I wasn't there that I think was supposed to be for removing smoke. TV didn't work at one point and was fixed. WiFi was in an out all weekend so I stopped using it. There were a few bugs but maybe to be expected in June. Overall people nice but management didn't clean room like they said they would. Guessing they need more employees. I do not plan on staying here again.

Room I reserved had bugs in the room and there was an unknown object on the bed under the blanket. We went to front desk got a new room. This room has food on floor and still not clean. We went back to front desk to get new sheets and tell them about our 2nd room. We were advised that nothing could be done and our original room size was not available in any other rooms.

The Longbranch has thought of it all... they have several options for events, whether it's weddings, business events, showers, or if you just want a weekend away. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is delicious! This venue is a must see for your next event. Having the hotel on-site is super convenient and the location is prime... close to anything you may need right between Cedar Rapids and Marion. And if you haven't seen the outdoor ceremony space yet, that will be stellar for events this summer. This is our go-to venue and hotel for events of all kind.

My family and I have been staying and recommending the Longbranch for years. The location is great and the staff is incredibly accommodating. The rooms are constantly clean and well kept. I especially love the long history of family ownership!

It was my first time staying with my family, two small kids (1 and 3) and we get weary traveling because the kids can get loud early morning and sometimes fight at night. Luckily the kids didn't act up, the hotel was clean, staff was so friendly, the pool was clean and the gym is better than most hotel gyms.

Another great stay at the BW Longbranch. I have stayed at the hotel many times over the years and always enjoy the facilities and staff. I have found the rooms clean, bed is comfortable, and room was very quiet unlike other hotels in the area. I will stay here again when I am in town.

Do not waste your money. I stayed here on my wedding weekend and it was the worst experience I have ever had at hotel. Dirty rooms (bugs, dust, odor, etc). They didn't clean the rooms between nights. No clean towels. Shattered door window to get into the building. Keys that didn't work. And, and absolutely terrible staff at the front desk. Rude, and definitely not helpful.

staff monitored us like hawks. kids or adults couldn't have fun. no food served at the hotel but can't eat in the atrium area with food delivered. bar was only open for about 4 hours, if they opened at all like they didn't on Saturday. Saturday!!!! again. adults couldn't sit and visit and meet others in the atrium with adult beverages. kids couldn't do anything right in the pool area. they closed that down early on Saturday as well. The place was so perfect of a layout for our team and the other teams that were there but the rules made it a complete fail. we are all so excited about the amenities until we experienced it all. only one staff member could communicate with us intelligently. the others just barked their orders and then had nothing intelligent to say. if we wouldn't have lost our $ we all would have left and stayed somewhere else Saturday night.

I would never stay here again. Staff not friendly, breakfast was awful food greasy and meat cold. Staying for 2 nights no one cleaned our room or gave us clean towels or refilled anything in room. Room decor was dated. Front desk staff very short with their interaction with guest.

Thanks to the staff at this hotel for accommodating a last minute late night request for a room due to a bad experience somewhere else. Staff were friendly, accommodating and kind. Breakfast was delicious and had a lot of options. Would stay again.

Broken equipment, only one staff member for most of the evening. One cue sticks for pool table, dart machine with broken darts, milk left in mini fridge by previous guest. One staff person working was not helpful or apologetic, just rude e dn though we were completely understanding. It's disgraceful that the hotel management would only have one staff member working in that entire hotel. We were told there were just a few rooms left by the staff if that tells you anything. Most disappointing stay at a hotel I've ever had.

We booked the three bed, two bedroom family suite. It was perfect for our family as we had three teen boys. So having the separate rooms gave everyone their own space and tv to enjoy for the weekend. They also had a full kitchen, meaning we were able to bring water and pop and food to use instead of eating out every meal. We were surprised to find actual silverware, dishes, and even pans and a toaster in the room to use! Plus a full sink for doing dishes and cleaning up. The living area was perfect to hang out and watch tv. The couch was sooo comfy!! The main bedroom has a separate bathroom which was awesome. The shower was beautiful and I was so excited to relax. However, the only downside is that the water pressure was HORRIBLE. I was looking forward to soaking in a hot shower in this beautiful bathroom, but with no water pressure, it made it very hard to have a relaxing shower and feel clean. I have very thick hair, and with the little amount of water it felt like it just couldn't do the job. The boys also said their bathroom shower/tub had the same issue. Other than that, the room was fantastic! We didn't end up using the breakfast at all because we slept in, but we did venture to the game room and pool area. The boys didn't swim as the pool was quite full as was the hot tub. But they did play a few games of pool and enjoyed the rec area. Normally there isn't stuff for older kids to enjoy, so this was why I booked this hotel. The family suite and the gaming area. The only other complaint I have is that we stayed two days and didn't see housekeeping at all. So we had garbage kind of piling up and other rooms had garbage bags sitting outside in the hallway. I ended up going to the front desk for more garbage bags just so we could keep the room clean without having trash sit everywhere. Also, the boys enjoyed the beds, as did I. I got some pretty good sleep. I was able to open the bedroom window when the weather was nice and enjoy a breeze.

The Best Western Plus Longbranch in Cedar Rapids, Iowa took us back to the "old" days of travel before COVID-19 made such travel unappealing. The staff is attentive, the facility is clean and well maintained, the price is amazing for a city the size of Cedar Rapids, and breakfast is back!! Our compliments to the desk and cleaning staff at this hotel...

Was charged $100 per get. It was never disclosed that's it's significantly different than other BWs. Talked to front desk, lady was rude and claimed she would lose her job if she changed the charge to the normal rate charged by BWs

this weekend my family got away from the derecho power outage by booking a room for 2 nights here. Our stay was incredible! All the staff was friendly, the rooms and pool and lounge gave us lots of fun stuff to do! Even our housekeeper Christina was amazing by going above and beyond to make sure our room was clean and welcoming! I will definitely be staying here again, and it's a treasure worth checking out!

Room had 2 pillows and no heavy blanket. Towels left fuzz all over the two of us. There wasn't any plastic utensils. Rooms should be overstocked before guests arrive, we didn't want to risk interaction or handling things from staff due to covid.

Recently our family had a tragic loss and on short notice needed a place for a celebration of life. To my surprise, I had no idea how amazing the Long Branch would be, from the initial consult, planning of food and the room, to the staff that worked the event. Tami was the most professional coordinator I have worked with and really cared about us and making the event planning simple. She even brought in a sign to use when plans for another option fell through. All just out of kindness. Dan was an awesome manager that helped make everything during the event flawless. The food was great and the ball room was perfect. Absolutely no worries which is not always the case when planning any event. I recommend the Long Branch for all your needs. Thanks so much for making this a wonderful experience for me and my daughter despite the circumstance.

I needed a place to stay while in town for a birthday party nearby. The location was good, not only for the event, but also for the proximity to various shopping venues in the Lindale Mall area. A Starbucks is nearby, as well as the mall itself, along with various smaller, strip-type malls very close by. The property is large, with a restaurant and bar towards the front, as well as a small bar in the general area around the pool, towards the back of the property. Several buildings are included in the complex, and are connected by a skywalk, which is nice in colder weather. There is a gym on the premises, which I believe to be quite sizeable, as it appears to have memberships as well as serve the property. The enclosed pool area is very nice, with a dining and drinking area as well. My room was near the pool, and noisy in the early evening hours, as there were a lot of kids enjoying these amenities. The area closes early enough, though, that it quiets down nicely about 10:00 pm. This building is the furthest from the street, and there are also many rooms in another building between the lobby and pool area. The pool area is where an extensive breakfast is served, both hot and cold items, as part of the room rate.

Whenever we stay at the Longbranch Best Western in Cedar Rapids, it feels like we are going home. Matter of fact, my wife refers to it that way. The personnel there treat us like family. They make us feel like we are home.

Great hotel, great stay, highly recommend. Excellent fitness facilities and breakfast. Restaurant is always good. Hotel accommodations meet all my needs. I've stayed at other hotels in Cedar Rapids and the Longbranch by far is the best.

A very enjoyable stay for a week in Cedar Rapids. The wonderful staff were exceptional, could not have been more helpful, kind and polite. Location was excellent, airport shuttle was excellent. Restaurants and amenities were great and very well explained. I would definitely recognise location, business or pleasure.

Wonderful customer service, nice, clean rooms. The hotel has a lot to offer. Very friendly restaurant staff and room service. Meeting room was comfortable and the server took good care of us. The people at the front desk were genuinely caring. I had a headache and asked to purchase Tylenol and the desk attendant gave me some from her bottle. I will stay again and recommend that others stay there as well.

Hotel was very clean and the staff were all amazing. We had some of the best food from the restaurant. Breakfast was nothing to brag about and could use some work, but otherwise everything was great! The ballroom was wonderful for the banquet we attended!

We are an organization that contracts retired NFL, NBA, Olympians and even a world record Snow Boarder to go into communities and talk to youth bringing a message of "hope". Every year the owner and managers go out of their way to make our stay pleasant and memorable. It is refreshing to see such compassion in the world for such a simple thing, but is needed when you are away from your home and family! Thank you Doug and staff:-)

This hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. Restaurant/bar right on site was a +++ for we didn't have to leave to grab dinner/drinks after driving all day. I would recommend staying here if you are in the area.

All the staff was polite and courteous. The breakfast buffet was very good and all the fruit was fresh. Only negative part, I woke up to snow!!! If I am back this way, I would stay here again. Room was clean and tidy!! (Thanks Melissa!)

The staff at the Longbranch are genuinely friendly and very helpful. The pool and fitness center are better than any other hotels in the area. It has a restaurant on site: one is for fine dining and one is in the bar area. Both are very good. We have stayed here a few times and will in the future.

We stayed here for a couple of nights on a visit to Cedar Rapids. The room was nice, staff was friendly and the breakfast was excellent. You could see that this hotel is being renovated. Its a big spread out hotel and the area we stayed in was very nice.

Room was damp and smelled overwhelmingly musty. We asked to be moved to another room and were told all the rooms were like this. I asked if I was the only person to complain about this and was told that they had received similar guest complaints about the same issue. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

I need to preface this by saying we were in a pet friendly room and those are generally never the best rooms in any hotel. I understand that the hotel is being renovated so maybe the room we had (111) will be upgraded. The room itself was tired and dated. It was clean, but quite damp feeling. I didn't smell mildew but it did smell damp all night. Even the sheets felt damp. Some reviews cited noise from the hallway and we didn't have any issue with noise but it was a Wednesday night and the hotel didn't appear to be full. The hotel is on a side street, tucked in among apartment buildings so it wasn't a charming locale, but it was functional. There were some dining options in the area and the lobby looked nice. So if you don't have a pet, it may be a good option for you, but I would choose a different hotel if I come back.

I will never stay at this hotel again as it was by far, one of the worst experiences with traveling I have yet to encounter. I requested a room away from the noise, this did not occur. I was placed in room 107: which had a moldy smell to it. I was kept up for 2 nights with doors slamming, so I called the front desk. Nothing was done. I called them back in the morning to request a new room as I was not going to endure that a 3rd night. Stephanie told me that if I felt I had that many problems, I should stay elsewhere. WOW. I requested to speak with the manager who I learned was Shanna. She seemed nice. She went above and beyond to move me to another room. This meant a lot to me so I made sure to thank her for that and give them another try. I get into my room (206). It appeared to be better so I stayed. In the morning, I realize the toilet won't flush. I then call downstairs for them to retrieve my icepacks Shanna had placed in the freezer on my behalf. The gentleman says sure. I start to load my car, going back in the front door as the side door key function doesn't work, hasn't worked for days and they aware of this. I ask for my icepacks. Michael gives me the wrong ones. I state this as I don't want to steal someone else's. He goes and gets different ones that still aren't mine. He gets very angry with me because I can't "describe them". I let him know the back story and requested he call Shanna as she would know where to find them. He refused. I go up to my room. He finally finds the icepacks so I pack up my cooler. I request my invoice from him and he starts yelling at me that I'm nothing but problems in an irrational fashion. I come down to retrieve my invoice and he mumbles a half hearted apology. I said thank you, but I don't find it appropriate to ever yell at guests. He starts shouting like a mad man: I don't like you! Shanna doesn't like you! He is acting so psychotic at this point, I break out my video camera to film this as I'm not sure how far off the deep end he went. He got quiet for a bit then started yelling again about how he didn't like me. I was shaking I was so unnerved by this verbal assault. I ask the staff person I see who overheard it to give her account to the Manager and request the manager call me. Her name was Bree and I appreciate her kindness. I run to breakfast but forgot my umbrella as I was so shaken up by the entire incident. I got about 5 minutes down the road and realized this and called. Shanna answers. She is no longer nice. She claims Bree never called her and that breakfast is busy but she'll have them look for it and call me back. I describe exactly where it was left. I then inform Shanna of the nightmare of an experience I had. She literally said, well you've had a lot of problems and I don't know what else to tell ya. She ultimately refused to coach the unprofessional staff and insinuated I was the problem. I'm the problem because I don't want moldy smelling rooms, I want a toilet that flushes, I want professionalism and my belongings? I'm uncertain as to why that's problematic at this hotel. I have stayed all over the world and this nation: this is by far 1 of the 2 worst hotels I've ever stayed in. I would like reimbursed for the umbrella as well since I literally called right after it was left there and they will not return it to me. I never received a follow up call from management. I called one more time to check on it and at this point, will just go buy a new one.

We made an unscheduled stop here and booked last minute. It was a little off the highway but close to lots of stores and restaurants. Our room ws large and comfortable and we were upgraded to a suite. As this is also a conference center the place is quite large. The breakfast area wasup a flight of stairs, across a sky bridge and through another long hallway. There had to be another place closer to the front desk.

I ended up at this hotel due to an unexpected vehicle malfunction that kept me overnight. I was assigned a room on the first floor. Although I tried to get this changed, I was told no other rooms were available. For the most part (more on this later), the hotel looks as though it's been remodeled relatively recently. I ended up in an ADA room, so it was extra spacious. I'd have preferred a different bathroom type, as water gets everywhere with the open shower concept, but I do understand the necessity of it in an ADA room. So, that's fine. The location was good. The front desk staff was also pleasant--this was important for me as I'd had an exhausting day with my car being broken down on the side of the highway. Had I met up with a cranky person at the front desk, it could have gone very badly. Mostly things were fine and that's why I'm giving an "average" rating rather than "terrible," which is how I felt the next morning. The HUGE issue was that the room I was in was in desperate need of a dehumidifier--or something. The room smelled like mildew, and felt like a basement. The room was, in a word, moist. The sheets felt clammy. My slippers and other items felt damp the next morning, It stunk so bad most of the night I slept with a sheet or towel over my face trying to block out the smell. I thought I'd eventually get used to it. I did not. While the room seemed to have undergone some kind of renovation at some point, it seems some old items were left behind, namely, the curtains and the armchair in the corner of the room, which reeked the worst. It was really the pits. This was my first time staying at a Best Western. It was probably also my last.

Stayed a night here while driving a moving truck across the country and it probably will wind up as one of my favorite stops. Had a disagreement with the hotel regarding rewards points but in the end they made everything right. Hotel staff was very friendly, room was big and very clean, hotel had many amenities and was nicely laid out. The restaurant and bar wears awesome. The night we were there was all-you-can-eat taco night and they were delicious. I understand that they do other themed nights there as well, like wing night, etc. There was a love DJ there as well and we spent the night at the bar meeting new people. The bed was super comfortable which provided a great night sleep. Even got to do a load of laundry there. In short, this place has it all!

The hotel rooms were extremely clean, staff at the breakfast were wonderful and the breakfast was really good. I can not forget to note that, this is one of the only hotels that do actually have A GYM!!, the gym is exceptional with lots of machines and weights. A huge swimming pool with a hot tub is really a plus for the customers. Overall, i would recommend this hotel to those travelling in and around Cedar Rapids.

From the moment the front desk realized our disappointment and how tired we were traveling from The Dells in Wisconsin with our grand children that our rooms would not be adequate for the sleeping arrangements of 2 Queen beds, they acted quickly to help us resolve the issue by offering the perfect solution at an affordable price for us to stay. The service at the restaurant exceeded our expectations. The lovely waitress fixed me a warm water + honey and cinnamon to help me get my voice back. Treated my grandson like her own and grilled him a cheese sandwich while we waited for our meals to arrive from the main kitchen. The waitress at the breakfast buffet the next morning was equally charming and served us up like we were her guests. Who could ask for more than to be treated like family visiting. I personally wanted to thank them all Front Desk, and Waitresses! Excellent, Excellent

Didn't expect much but when I walked in I was greatly surprised with a beautifully decorated, comfortable and up to date facility. That being said, the staff deserve even more accolades: friendly, efficient and helpful. I definitely recommend a stay here. Oh, the spa health club is worth staying here by itself!

I have never stayed in a hotel where staff was so accommodating. Everyone went out of their way to be accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was great and the staff in the breakfast room went out of their way for us.

We had a wedding party at the motel we were there for two nights we had excellent service people are wonderful to us room was excellent any issues we had were taken care of immediately. We had a wedding reception and waited on hand and foot foot. Everything was easy access. It was a little difficult to get to the breakfast area . It was a little hard to get to the complementary breakfast

service was great very helpful with everything, breakfast was good never had to wait for more food to be brought out, the rooms nice size very clean and smell very good, the location, no complains at all we enjoy our stay each time.

If traveling through Iowa do not hesitate to stay here. Staff, room, pool, hot tub, gym are excellent. The staff are top notch. Do not think twice stay here. There is also a restaurant/lounge that are amazing

I have to say, this hotel is incredible!! The staff are friendly. The beds are comfortable. Just awesome. Everything is so clean!! The pool is warm, the hot tub gorgeous, and the sauna immaculate! Breakfast is delicious. I can not say enough about how wonderful this hotel is! I will tell EVERYONE that drives through here to stay here! Pics are of the game room leading over to the breakfast/bar area & the pool...I was standing on the spiral staircase.

Went to Cedar Rapids one business trip and decided to stay at the Longbranch. What a wonderful hotel. The room was huge, the beds were very comfortable and the staff were friendly. Delicious free breakfast and even has an indoor pool. I enjoyed my stay very much and highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Cedar Rapids.

the staff is very friendly, the room was clean and very nice. When I got there in the morning about 9 the room was not vacant yet, when I returned at Noon was cleaned and ready. I would diffently stay there again.

Interesting place, desperately in need of a remodel. The room was clean and the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast way average but you have a long walk just to get there. All in all, stay was okay. Will stay elsewhere next time I am in town.

The hotel was great. The best breakfast we have had in a while. Fresh food made for it and tasty. Kim the morning hostess for the free breakfast buffet was superior. We had some key troubles with our door. They fixed it and compensated us for our trouble. The buffet food at the wedding was also wonderful. Great place.

Very clean hotel with friendly staff. Having access to a full gym is a plus. I stay several times a year for business travel. I have tried other hotels but they do not compare to the quality of the BW Longbranch.

We paid the same as we could have for another chain hotel not far from here. Our check in was really pleasant. The front desk was very friendly and very efficient. She helped us a couple of times during our stay. That's pretty much where our satisfaction ended. The room was a good size, however it smelled very musty. We had two rooms, booked through different websites and they both smelled the same. The refrigerator was loud, there were lots of young boys without supervision in the pool area...so many that no-one in our party dared swim. They were quite rambunctious throwing things in the pool, and generally causing most other patrons to be uncomfortable. The bathroom was really very small. For what we paid, we were very disappointed.

We stayed at the BWL for my son's wedding and we couldn't be more pleased with the staff and facility! Each person we encountered--front desk, breakfast attendant, housekeeping, and the event coordinator and all of the event & wait staff were absolutely outstanding--we can't thank you enough. We had a personalized limited menu available for the rehearsal dinner, and everyone was very happy with the selections. The wedding dinner (carving station roast beef) was amazing and we received many compliments from our guests. My husband and I live only about an hour from Cedar Rapids, but you can bet when we need a weekend getaway, the BWL will now be our choice!

The room was clean and comfortable, we could have used more than two towels for two adults. It is easy to find and plenty of parking. The bar had a lively crowd with good service. This was the second year we stayed at this location.

I lived in the Marion area all my life but retired 8 years ago and moved south (tired of winter).Saw construction of the Longbranch when I was a child. Had dinner at the restaurant numerous times over the years. Always a very good meal, The best ribs. Was in Marion for Christmas with family and spent 4 nights here. Comfortable room, friendly staff and an awesome complimentary breakfast. An actual fitness center in the facility(not just a room with a few machines). The Longbranch is my choice.

Kim in the breakfast room goes over and above in service! I've stayed at many hotels and NONE have gone over and above in service like she does. This is the reason we come back here. Front desk, very friendly. We've stayed here a few times now visiting family. The pool view rooms are great for families wanting to spend some time at the pool. They are also close to the public area and breakfast room. Water a little too soft in these rooms, but doable. The bar opens at night, no problems there for the most part. But one night there was a loud mouth yelling over a ball game. Also, heard peoplePlaying pool at 7:45 am. Too early people!The suites are fantastic! Great hot tub and a full kitchen. Lots of room to spread out. They can use a little updating, maybe take out the dark wood. Our tub leaked out water plus the faucet handle leaked. I let the staff know. Easily repairable. Still a nice stay. Also, stayed in a kitchenette room I believe. This room was extra large with a table and chairs. Loved the room, water not as soft as the pool view rooms thank goodness. Good location, had to walk across the skywalk though to go to breakfast. Wish they had some of these rooms near the pool! Lol!Ordered room service and visited the restaurant, the Longhorn. Service was excellent. Food taste lacked a little. We had chicken strips, cheese sticks and quesadillas, bland, had no flavor. So we tried dinner there. Ordered mostly pizzas... no flavor! No sleep. Boisterous people partying all night. Three calls to front desk failed to stop it. At midnight, asked for refund so we could go to another hotel and were refused. Noise went on until 3:00 am. Complained in writing to management next day. Offered a complimentary night at same hotel. As if I would stay there again. Am a BW Diamond member since 2002. Meant nothing to this hotel.

The LB is a great place to stay for business travel or pleasure, great staff, great restaurant, great lounge, continental breakfast has something for everyone. Been staying at the Long Branch since early 90's just gets better all the time.

The whole family reserved rooms here for the weekend of grandpa's celebration of life. The rooms were extremely comfortable. We had rooms on the second floor right by the restaurant/bar. There was a pool and hot tub located there as well. The bar staff was awesome and very professional with the large crowd we had. We had dinner on sunday night at the longbranch restaurant located by The main lobby, excellent steaks!! Will definetly be staying again when I'm back in cedar rapids

Wonderful setting for our work conference. The ballroom where our classes were held had been recently remodeled, the chairs were comfortable, great food and parking was nice and close. Hotel rooms are really nice and really loved the indoor pool and gym.

Stayed here when Iowa City hotels were full and very glad we did. I referred to it as a hidden gem because it does sit back off the main highway a bit and doesn't have the typical front entry of a hotel. Add in the construction in the area and it did take a little bit to find it, but once we did we were happy about it. This is a fairly large property with 2 buildings that connect with a skywalk. Don't let that scare you, it was easy to find parking and you don't have to walk all over the place to get to the pool or breakfast, etc. Everything was conveniently in our building. The common areas were clean and the room was nice. The bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed the layout. Reminded me of the old Holidomes. Breakfast was very good. I was pleasantly surprised to find homemade French toast and real eggs. The staff at breakfast was incredibly attentive, got our drinks and escorted us to a table! This was a buffet! While on the subject of staff the front desk was great as well. Very helpful and engaging. We did not try the restaurant in this hotel. I'm very glad we happened upon this hotel and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

The Best Western Plus Longbranch provides a high quality while providing everything you need at one location. This is a company business trip with our crew we average about 14 rooms for almost a month stay and have been using this hotel since 2003. We keep returning because of the quality and the exceptional personnel that work there.

We enjoyed the buffet lunch with friends at the Longbranch. The service is always good and the price is fair. They have a very good buffet lunch for the money and their restaurant is clean. Great place for meetings and gatherings.

Ah, this hotel took me back to another era. It is truly a 1980's - 1990's fantasy hotel, but nonetheless, updated to stay relevant. There were such cool features, such as a truly awesome pool, a curvy lit up staircase, ample areas for families to hang out and spend time, cute accompanying restaurant and bar area, and best of all: a TRUE AND DELICIOUS, UNBEATABLE hotel complimentary breakfast. Yes, the real deal. Hot omelets, these amazing cinnamon pastries, TRULY fresh fruit looking healthy (not anemic and colorless), and more. There is a second section to this hotel that is connected by a vintage indoor walkway. I can't say enough good, overall. The only drawback, keeping me from giving this hotel a 5, is that our room was too humid. That being said, temperatures that weekend in Cedar Rapids were in the high 90's. I would most definitely book a room here again.

My boyfriend and I were traveling to a concert in Monticello, but there were no hotel rooms available so the woman I spoke with said to try cedar rapids. I googled hotels & made a list of prices & distances from hotels to where we were going. This one was one of the closest. So we chose it. They wouldn't guarantee us an 11am check in. So we called & they were able to get us a day early. They were so friendly & helpful. When we got to our room it was beautiful. It was very clean. The bed was so comfortable! Like sleeping on a cloud. We walked around checking out the hotel. It's huge! Nice gym & pool areas. My boyfriend has traveled to Denver, Kansas city, Vegas & all over Florida. He said more than once that this was probably the nicest hotels he's ever been in. We got burgers in the bar area about 10:30 at night. They were great! The breakfasts were good, but both morning we were there they were almost out of eggs. Probably only negative because I have a feeling he would've liked more, but didn't take what was left so I could have some. If I'm ever in the area again. I would definitely stay here again!

We stopped at this hotel on our way back home from Michigan. Our stay was great! The room was clean and spacious. The Longbranch Restaurant/bar has a $5 taco bar on Wednesday's and the fixings were plentiful and delicious! So were the margaritas! The hotel is split up in three different buildings which was a little confusing but easy to maneuver. Breakfast was great and all hotel staff were friendly and accommodating! Give this place a try if you are in Cedar Rapids :)

When I decided to go back to Cedar Rapids and to host my wedding, I immediately though of the Best Western Plus Longbranch. It is conveniently located next to just about everything you would, or could, need. The complimentary breakfast is one of the best I've ever had and the property itself is clean and full of very helpful and friendly staff. Everyone here treats you as though they have known you forever. Will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay in Cedar Rapids. Cassandra in the breakfast/bar area was really great. She made our evenings fun and shared information from around the area. The weather held for us to sight see the area and the Art Museum downtown was wonderful.

Overall, this is not a bad place to stay. It's just dated a bit. It would have been state of the art in the 1980s. Some parts like the lobby are updated. I didn't get a chance to get to the gym which I regret, but it looks like it might be a good one. I stayed in a suite. The bed was comfortable, the internet service was good, and there was a very handy little kitchenette. Also, there was a nice backdrop of woods behind me. The water pressure in the shower was pretty low and there was a definite smell about the place that was stale and a little funky. If you aren't the picky type, this is a perfectly fine stay, but if you're picky or travel with anyone who is, you may want to pass.

To me the most striking thing about this hotel was the unusual layout of the property. It was confusing until I studied the map provided to me at check-in. Basically there are three buildings with hotel rooms: the largest building with four floors and the lobby area, the smallest one with six suites, and a third building with three floors. They are connected by two skywalks. The third one also houses the pool, an atrium area with game tables, the restaurant where the complementary buffet breakfast is served, and most surprisingly a fitness center which is like a small commercial gym. In front of the hotel is what I would call a small convention center, with meeting rooms and a couple restaurants. Now I have some comments about my stay: Check-in and check-out were easy. I had one of the suites, which included a kitchenette. The room was clean and it was quiet. There is no elevator in the building with the suites, which can be worked around by using the one in the main building, but this involves a long walk. In my opinion breakfast was sub-par for a Best Western Plus location. I did not have time to use the large fitness center. If working out is important then this is a very nice (free) amenity. Lastly there was a washer and dryer in the hallway of the second floor in the building with the suites, which could present a noise issue.

Awesome family / game room loft area. Allows out of town guests to share time with near by family without being cooped up in a hotel room. Pool table, dart board, coin op video games, it was a great family reunion experience and this hotel was a big part of that fun and relaxed reunion.

This hotel has a lot of amenities from a Pool, Gym, Restaurant, Lounge, and even a Conference area. It is a Very nice, clean, and important to me Quiet. The Staff is very professional and are willing to go out of their way to help guests with any issues.

Our wedding was perfect all thanks to the staff at The Longbranch! From day one of planning they made the entire process so easy and stress free. We had nothing but compliments from our guests on the food and staff. They were quick to clear dirty plates, quick to serve the food and very pleasant! I highly recommend. We had 300+ guests and plenty of room. Once the reception was over, we headed over to the hotel bar and restaurant for some karaoke which was also very accommodating.

Very clean property, very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast buffet - love the hot breakfast offerings, and the blueberry pancakes were fantastic! The attached restaurant had a great prime rib, and there was live music the night we visited. It was nice to not have to walk outside to go to either the restaurant or the breakfast area. Close enough to Coe College to make it convenient without feeling like we were staying on campus.

We enjoyed everything about our recent stay at the Best Western Plus Longbranch Hotel. The staff was very courteous and helpful. This includes front desk personnel, breakfast/bar and restaurant/lounge staffs. The room was very clean and well appointed. We were conveniently located close the the pool and fitness room and the breakfast/evening bar area. We also had easy access to the main restaurant and lounge via a skywalk. So we never had to leave the hotel. We recommend the Longbranch and will definitely return the next time we are traveling to or through the Cedar Rapids area.

As I've shared elsewhere on TripAdvisor, I don't frequent Best Westerns, but this Cedar Rapids, IA property is a hidden gem on the northeast side of this Eastern Iowa metro! Best Westerns are locally-owned franchises, so "quality" varies some. My room here was outstanding, and every element of the property appears to have been updated over the last couple years, and ALL of it's current since what I'm sure is an original late-1960's footprint. I stayed in their newer, adjacent property connected by sky-way, and I recommend that as well. The fitness center is amazing, and they serve a complimentary breakfast in that building with actual sausage and eggs, etc., NOT the normal military-like "MRE"-fare. The staff was excellent, and I will definitely come back.

We selected this hotel to have a winter swimming vacation for my kids. The pool and game area are connected and the pool side room allows you to have quick access to everyone. The common space was very nice and the staff helped at every turn. The staff all seemed very nice and helpful. The hotel has a very interesting layout. Even the Kevin, the maintenance person went above and beyond helping us. Great Job BW Longbranch

I had forgotten my wallet in my room when I checked out. I called the front desk to explain and they told me they would have my wallet at the front desk when I returned. Sure enough it was and the contents of it was intact.

Had a nice stay! Buffet is excellent as always. Great roast beef and ham., Staff was helpful with smoke odor in room.The place was clean. We did get a New Years noise complaint at 8 pm but we left the room. Bed was comfy too. Breakfast was good too!

Kind, caring, helpful staff. Bartender in the lounge was very kind & professional. He did a great job. One of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. You could tell employees took pride in their job. All staff were excellent. We will be staying there again!!

Our very large family used 3 rooms and a suite for one night to attend a family gathering. We loved the breakfast buffet--lots of choices! Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. We loved the gathering space/game area between the pool and the breakfast room. kids loved the pool. Also loved the noon checkout so kids could swim before we checked out.

I stayed at the BW Longbranch hotel in November of 2017. It's a nice hotel, located around 20 minutes from CID airport. Friendly front desk staff, clean rooms, swimming pool and recreational area...the place is huge! The rooms are nice, not ultra modern, but not too outdated either. Fridge and microwave were good, a/c unit is somewhat loud, but works well. The cleanliness of the bathroom and room was good. Old thin towels and face cloths. Well, the restaurant. They have a buffet with fries, wings and a few other sides for $5. While modestly priced, the quality of the food was fair at best. My server, a young lady with black lipstick who was less than professional and seemed like she didn't want to be there. The customer service and overall experience between the hotel and restaurant were like night and day. The hotel is in a good location. Movie theater, park, hiking (river trail) and shopping all within walking distance. ~in the travel and hospitality business for over 10 years.

This hotel is very convenient for getting in and out of the city, the folks at the front desk are excellent, the breakfast is unique in that the area for the buffet is part of the bar and has a very nice atmosphere. The food was good and there was plenty. The lady looking after the breakfast was very accommodating and made sure that everyone knew what was available and kept you coffee and juice cups filled up. This is an excellent hotel and I would definitely recommend it for the business traveller.

had a good experience here for a wedding ceremony, reception. wedding party all stayed overnight, enjoyed the pool until 1030 when it closed. there was no room service because unfortunately they were understaffed, but they had a restaurant that we were able to get food from.

This hotel was oddly located, kind of behind a small mall. However the staff was pleasant and helpful, the rooms comfortable and clean. It was also very quiet, despite there being many, many cars in the parking lot. Pool was clean, there was a very nice area in the fitness building where you could sit and have a conversation, all nicely tended.

Great facilities, quick and helpful check-in, close and secure parking. Stayed in Pool and fitness club building where facilities were excellent. Lounge/bar with full menu from Longbranch Restaurant ( and attentive service) plus hot breakfast buffet in the morning. A tad off the beaten path, but that also meant a quiet and peaceful stay. Checkout was quick and convenient. We will stay again when in the area.

The experience is always as expected. Clean and comfortable rooms at an affordable price. Have eaten at restaurant and used pool a number of times and experience has been good. Convenient and worry free stay for me and my family.

We stayed there for a night as it was the only choice available for the weekend. The room smelled strongly of mold and the fire alarm in the room started beeping incessantly at 5:30 am. It is hard-wired, so our only choice was to get up and leave. It was clear that every noise from the hall could be heard in the room so we were lucky that we were at the end of the hall. That said - when anyone walked by, it was loud. The only good news was that it is very close to a Starbucks that is open at that hour so we could get coffee and breakfast and get on the road. Will plan to NOT stay there again.

I've traveled for work since 2012. Of all of the hotels I've stayed at, this hotel has the absolute best food. The hotel breakfast is freshly prepared, and the dinner is most definitely not just a hotel dinner. The ribs are to die for. Also, the restaurant recently updated their menu and added a nice steak house with a great menu. The fitness facility is practically an entire gym-free weights and cardio equipment. Also, the beds are honestly the most comfortable beds I've ever laid in. Overall-GREAT experience.

This is a great place to stay at the price! The staff, free breakfast in the Gold Zone Cafe, and dining in the Longbranch Restaurant are all excellent. Rooms are very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Bathroom is small but accomodating. They have many beautifully-decorated event rooms and a steakhouse as well. Definitely will stay here again!

I LOVE this hotel! The staff are very welcoming and they make you feel like your comfort matters. The rooms are always clean and well decorated. The breakfast is the best in town! They have everything from eggs to cold cereal and the best fresh fruit and pastries. The adjacent restaurant is convenient and serves a variety of menu items. If you stay there you will also be close to shopping and more restaurant options.

A group of us have stayed here for the last 2 years for a girl's reunion and will continue to do so for as long as we are able. The staff is great, rooms are clean, breakfast is very good and food in general is excellent. They are very accommodating in every way. We reserved a meeting room for our reunion and the staff checked in several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Would recommend to anyone looking for an enjoyable, reasonably priced play to stay.

The staff has always been great to deal with. The restaurant is clean with a great smorgasbord. If you don't want to eat in house, the hotel is in a great location where there are other restaurants and plenty of shopping. So convenient. No complaints here!

I enjoy all the Best Westerns I have been staying at and like the points program. But the Hotel in Cedar Rapids was extra special. The minute I checked in the staff was exceptionally friendly and was for the 9 days/nights that I was there. I could walk by and get a "Hi Mike". Also 2 different bars at this hotel. And the Longbranch lounge, a top notch restaurant with great daily specials. Full menu. Aaron was very friendly and a great manager. I look forward to going there next week again for a few days!

The is one of the Best Hotels in the Cedar Rapids/Marion area. If you need a place to stay this is the hotel for you.. The food is outstanding and the Rooms are Great and very reasonable. The Staff are Great and Very Helpful

We arrived thinking we were booked at a different location. SO glad to be here. The hotel had many levels, sky walkways, and two restaurants. Our room was very spacious, had a mini kitchen and separate sitting area. The anvionce is awesome throughout. Staff from check in to morning breakfast were so nice. Will make it a point to stay here if ever going thru cedar rapids again.

The fitness center and hotel is great...Rooms are spacious and clean ...Good wi-fi in our room...Handy location and fairly easy to find..Breakfast was above average...A real safe area of town.The swimming pool and hot tub spa were really nice...Staff could be improved..

Somewhat of an odd layout. There is an older section and newer one. Staff sent us to a room in the older section. Went to it, opened the door and saw that it had not been visited by housekeeping. Went back to desk. Staff was apologetic and put us in room in newer part of complex. Room was OK, but we couldn't get air unit to work -- apparently had no power because none of the displays were lit. Could have gone back for another room, but it was late, so we just opened a window and enjoyed some fresh air. Place was quiet, bed comfortable. Best part of this place was the exercise facility, which was actually was a publicly available health club -- free weights, machines, cardio, exercise room, massage, tanning, etc. So, that was great -- though when I went down there at 8 a.m.,, it was locked. Not sure what time someone got there, but it was open when I went back at 8:45. Breakfast was adequate and well maintained. There also was a restaurant on the site, but we didn't use it. Longbranch had its plusses and minuses, but I would rate it a good value because the price was reasonable.

I had the opportunity to attend a conference in Cedar Rapids and stay at this property. The staff was very helpful with suggestions on property and within the community to do while there. The staff was friendly and continued to go above and beyond. I highly recommend this hotel if your travels bring you into Cedar Rapids.

We had 28 people at the Longbranch Hotel for a 3-day family reunion. From the initial contact through months of planning and then 3 days of the event, this hotel and staff had it all for us. We felt like we stayed with family. The facility was perfect. Rooms are very clean and comfortable with all the needed amenities (great beds, wi-fi, fridge, microwave) The food in all venues (breakfast, bar, restaurant and our Czech reunion dinner) was excellent. The service was always first class. Every detail was perfect and every request attended to. ALL employees and staff we encountered were TERRIFIC. I highly recommend this hotel for service, convenience, comfort and value.

This is THE place to stay when visiting Cedar Rapids. Comprised of several architectually-interesting buildings built over the past 30-40 years, this complex has very nice rooms, pool and health club, welcoming lobby and two restaurants plus the breakfast area (the breakfast area does double-duty as a bar during evenings). The breakfast (along with the friendly hostess) was a treat and included in the reasonable room rate; plenty of protein, fresh fruit, waffles and baked-goods if you want, and good coffee. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for a good breakfast, this is not the place. We paid a lot of money (too much) and wanted a good breakfast. That did not happen. A huge disappointment. The pool and hot tub were decent. My husband thought the bed was very comfortable.

This is a very nice hotel with great staff. The complimentary breakfast is really good with different options every day. The bar is close for a night cap and has a great staff as well. (Cassie in the Gold Zone and Ben at the Longbranch). Better lighting in the bathroom would be nice, but that is always a comment of mine as it is sometimes difficult to put on makeup with poor lighting. We had a great stay and the people at this hotel were awesome. There is no airport shuttle, but Uber got me there for just $20. They accommodated our family for the whole weekend, my nephews had fun in the pool, and there is a great place to sit out by the pool to visit with family and friends without having to be in someone's room. Great stay!

Comfortable room, great staff, really good breakfast, nice amenities, all for a reasonable price. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you use a wheelchair vehicle though. The rooms are great for that use, large, well laid out and comfortable including the bathroom, but the parking lot isn't prepared for wheelchair only use. The slope is dangerous and the room provided isn't adequate. Anyone else would get a great value and comfortable experience.

My husband and I both ordered the prime rib and it was excellent. Baked potatoes and veggies were equally good. We were able to gave a couple of drinks with our meal and the bartender made them perfectly. It was relaxing and relatively quiet. Would definitely eat there again.

This hotel is off the main roadway which makes it a quiet and pleasant place. There was a game room for kids. The lounge bar area was nice and we were waited on quickly. The room had been scented probably when vacuuming and that did cause a bit of a problem because of allergies. Overall it was pleasant stay for one night.

The hotel was very hard to find. Google maps takes you several blocks away. Hotel was average. Reminded me of the 90's. The bar / restaurant was at best a dive bar. With very drunk and vocally baligerant local customers. Non of the staff appeared to be surprised or bothered at all by the drunk customers.

Kids enjoyed the pool and arcade area breakfast was ok unfortunately several things cleanliness wise were wrong with the room at check in and front desk staff was rude checkout when I stated several things were wrong with the room when I checked in

this family owned / american owned motel is the ONLY place to stay in cedar rapids, Iowa. i have traveled this area since 1981, stayed in numerous motels in the area, this is the only property i will patronize in the area.

A very enjoyable and friendly place to celebrate special events in our lives.We were very pleased to be able to invite our family to join us for breakfast to help us celebrate our Anniversary and Fathers Day.We also enjoyed a lovely and relaxing anniversary dinner.

Best Western Longbranch in Cedar Rapids is a good choice for a night's sleep. Nice, clean room. Small bathroom with tiny sink. Nice mint soap. Breakfast was OK, just average. The hotel itself is setup strangly, but that is not a problem. We enjoyed our stay.

My new husband & I stayed in the honeymoon suite...it was wonderful! The Jacuzzi tub & huge bed made for a fun & relaxing night after our wedding! As always the breakfast was delicious & filling. There were so many options!

This is a Quiet and Caring Hotel. The Food is fabulous. With the buffet style breakfast, Caring Staff, and all the other amenities you will enjoy your stay here. I have repeated stayed here because of the service, and will continue to do so.

The 2nd floor recreation area is amazing! I just wish I had an opportunity to visit the bar but alas, it was closed due to a staff member family emergency. Would love to see key cards go away though; but it next to a cell phone and it deactivates. Honeywell has an app for that.... all hotel chains should really look into this to enhance guest experiences. I only got locked out once but my husband made the trek to the lobby (in another building); thank goodness it wasn't winter but even if it was, there is a skyway! Now that was an excellent idea!

My sister had a 50th birthday bash here in the lounge with a band, so we stayed in the hotel for convenience. I was very impressed with everything! I have nothing bad to say about the staff, the lounge, the food, the room, or the breakfast. Everything was great! The breakfast was awesome! Lots of options and hot items !!

I stayed here two nights for a business trip, and it was amazing. I travel quite frequently for work, and I was extremely pleased with this hotel. It's located near a lot of restaurants and stores, and it's pretty close to the main roads, which made around a breeze. Despite being so close to busy places, the hotel was actually very quiet; it's tucked away from all the busy happenings of the city. It was amazing to come back to the hotel after a long day of traveling or working. The beds were amazing and had great pillows. I loved all of the toiletries provided, including mouthwash. The restaurant connected to the hotel was great. I was able to get unlimited wings and meatballs for only five dollars on my first night. For someone who'd been traveling all day, it was wonderful to just walk over there, get some food, and get back to my room. The second night, I ordered room service. The food got there quite quickly with all of the necessary utensils. On my second day there, I also decided to have some of their breakfast. The continental breakfast was what all hotels should strive for. They had a wide assortment of hot and cold dishes that could be eaten by anyone, even someone on a diet. They had a staff there to help you with your plates and refill your coffee. Amazingly, there was no additional charge for the breakfast, although I personally recommend tipping the serving staff there for all their great work. When I was down by the breakfast lounge, I saw that there was a foosball table, a pool table, and some coin-operated arcade games. This would be a great place to bring a family. I truly felt like it was a home away from home. I would gladly stay here again.

My family and I recently stayed here for 3 nights celebrating graduation at Coe College. The location was great and it was an easy drive to campus. We were impressed with the cleanliness, large size of the rooms, and the friendliness of every employee we encountered. Breakfast had everything you could want and more. If we ever back in the area, I would stay here in a heartbeat.

Chef's salad??? Loads of wilted and brown lettuce, barely any cheese, 2 tiny tomatoes and no taste whatsoever. Service was 1 server for over 20 people. She was great at refreshing drinks but slow on serving food.

This hotel was nicely updated. The breakfast area had plenty of seating and a decent breakfast. There are refrigerators and coffee makers in the room. We stayed in a double queen room. The beds are the best hotel mattresses we have slept on in awhile. We were there for a softball tournament and it was within a 20 minute drive from the parks and right off a major highway and interstate.

I found the hotel very nice. The entrance is a little unusual along with the layout of the hotel. The staff was very professional and friendly. We liked that the room we stayed in was in the back. I was conveniently located near the mall and a lot of restaurant choices. I would stay again if I was in the area.

Very nice hotel, well decorated and maintained...everything works. Staff is friendly and welcoming, great value. Room was large, clean and super quiet. Did not use them restaurant, lounge or free breakfast.

The hotel breakfast was excellent and the hotel was set-up nice. Our only complaint was limited use of the pool during water aerobics classes (joint use fitness center). Having a 7 year old would make us think twice about staying here again because of that. The room was clean and the attached restaurant was a great feature that we capitalized on.

The staff greeted me at check in with such professionalism! They knew my name immediately and presented me with a welcome gift, explained to me what my upgrade options were. Cheerfully provided me with my room choice, layout of the hotel with detailed explanation of hotel amenities and ask if there was anything I needed. The Manager was very professional, knowledgeable and extremely funny! I recommend this hotel..

The Best Western Longbranch is a absolute top quality hotel to stay at if you are traveling through Iowa. It is located centrally and has the best amenities in the area. The staff is professional without being too stiff. They are helpful and friendly. The breakfast is the best i have had in the whole state. The fact that they have an actual health club associated with the property makes them truly unique.

I really didn't care for this hotel. Everything about the common spaces was very dated and stale. We didn't stay in the main building, rather we stayed in the smaller building with the pool. That foyer area with a pool table and some tables and chairs had a lousy vibe and felt very old. The hot tub wasn't hot, and the sauna had a window that opened, causing kids to hang out inside like it was a warm little fort. There was a lounge in our building that served cocktails and food. Not real impressed with the meal. Breakfast was a typical substandard affair with rubbery eggs and weak coffee. Really the only bright side was the room which was clean and somewhat updated. All in all, this was a place that I was happy to say "goodbye" to.

Breakfast buffet was included, and it was delicious. They had REAL eggs and sausage-no powered and fake stuff. Pastries and cereals, breads and juices. Hand made French toast blew us away. Great value and very clean. Staff were all friendly and the price was fair.

The hotel is very clean and well kept and provide an enjoyable stay and I worked both shifts during my stay and was comfortable sleeping on either shift at the hotel. I have stay here on and off since 2001 and over the years they have made positive improvements and do not even think of different options to stay at.

Hotel is very spread out from lobby to amenity rooms. We were in an accessible room in the same building as the pools, atrium, breakfast area. Long walks to Lobby, restaurant, and function rooms. Has grown like Topsy on hillsides. Not enough elevators. Very few level parking spaces - even for HDCP spaces. Very supportive staff, but facilities are old. Clean and spacious. Great pocket door to HDCP bath with great shower, but too low toilet and dangerously smooth tile floor. Very spacious room, with nice beds, TV, closet, etc. Reasonable rates, but I'll try for better package next trip.

Clean rooms, food very good in longbranch restaurant. All help couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Special Kudos to Sarah at front desk. We were in a bind to get to a family wedding and she went out of her way to arrange for transportation for us. Thanks to Sarah & Albert for getting us there.

Overall a very good experience. I was pleasantly surprised.The room was very comfortable with ample roominess. It didn't feel cramped at all. The breakfast they offer has a fairly good selection of hot and cold items. Lots of shopping and dining nearby.

Best Western Longbranch offered great customer service. Room was comfortable and clean. Location was perfect for my conference and meeting the night before. Breakfast had many choices and was delicious. Wished I could have stayed longer to take advantage of pool, fitness room, restaurant and lounge. Express checkout was a convenient option. The next time I am in town, I will definitely stay at the Longbranch again!

This hotel is clean, rooms and lobby are pleasant, parking is good and the staff is helpful and friendly. It was quiet during my Monday to Saturday stay, which was n ce, I was working odd hours. The hotel is located a block off the main drag, which contributes to the quiet atmosphere. There are a number of restaurants and stores nearby. There is a surprisingly (at least to me) large number of craft brew operations in the area. When I am back in the area I will come back to this hotel

Wonderful place to stop when traveling. Little on the high price side, but the convenience of an on sight restaurant with a seperate lounge, swimming pool, fitness room, and Saturday night karaoke helps to overlook the cost. Staff is very friendly and rooms are clean and modern. Try to avoid the back building if you have walking disabilities as the slant of the parking lot is very hard to maneuver with a cane, wheelchair, or scooter but if you have someone to assist you, it is possible.

Great price, nice room...not clean to average expectations. trash left in kitchen from previous people. Master bath, has had a suite, was dirty. Dried urine spots and pubic hair noted upon our arrival. From previous persons as we had not used the facilities yet.

If I had not been a little bit familiar with CR this hotel would have been tricky to find. Hard to tell what is the front and the back door as well. It had all the basics and was clean, comfortable and convenient to stores of all kinds. The hallways were dark; it was close to a residential area so comfortable places to walk the pooch who was welcome at this hotel. Lobby was small but nicely appointed. Met a friend I had not seen in years and it was an easy place to sit and chat.

This was the third time we have stayed at this hotel in three years. We come here on business every August. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The breakfast is not fancy but still good. The breakfast is served in a building that is not in the Main building but there is a hallway and a skywalk to get there so it is not like you have to go outside to get there...Just a nice morning walk. See you again next August!

Stayed here one evening while traveling. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. We were in a separate but connected building. The building we were in had its own bar and restaurant where food could be ordered from the main restaurant. The food was good and the location convenient. The room rates were good also. The was a very nice pool and rec area attached. We would definitely stay again. There was a very large parking area.

The location is great, the staff are great, restaurant and bar are a very popular spot for locals- which says a lot. Building is strange and very dated - considering the limited options in Cedar Rapids I would gladly come back here. The restaurant, bar, and location out weigh the dated old building.

My wife and I traveled from Cincinnati, Oh to attend a family reunion centered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Our accommodations at the Best Western Plus Longbranch could not have been better. The rooms were clean, spacious, with plenty of closet space. Accessing their other amenities could not have been easier with the skywalk or other enclosed walkways connecting the pool, full gym, whirlpool and three attached restaurants. The free breakfast was ample with a large selection. Convenient to shopping, movies and other entertainment could not have been better. Am sad there are only 5 stars to rate the establishment. With Jen and Beth helping at the front desk, there should be 10 stars! Thank you for the stay.

Pros Helpful staff, great breakfast, great workout facility, nice bed Cons Older facility, shower had a couple of hairs in it, price was a little higher than what I would expect for this particular rating of hotel. Thought it was summer rate and hotel would be full, but that is not the case.

The hotel and room were very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional. I particularly enjoyed the fitness center, as it is actually a pretty well equipped athletic club, much better than the usual minimally equipped fitness center normally found in hotels. The breakfast was pretty good.

This is listed as a 3 star hotel on Priceline for $81 a night. Drove up and new I was in trouble. The buildings are old and the hallways smelled. The rooms have update floors but old furniture. It was so depressing I paid another $80 to stay at the renovated La Quinta. I do not know the people who have given this a good rating. Stay away until renovated.

the only complaint that i have is that they charged us 24 dollars for breakfast in bed. we ordered a couple eggs and pancakes. We got married and had our wedding reception in the ballroom, and it was beautiful. I would recommend this venue.

On a cross country trip to the west coast and need a place to stay. This hotel was clean, staff friendly, and helpful, room was not small and a free breakfast. The feel of the place is hotel in a rural town that has local entertainment. If you are looking for a luxury hotel this is not it. But it is a great place for a night as you travel.

We had a great time at the Cedar Rapids Best Western. Breakfast was outstanding, they have a cook that keeps the fresh food coming until 10 am. Variety and quality was fantastic. Rates were very competitive, facilities were in great shape. The staff was polite and helpful.

I booked a night here as an Express Deal on Priceline. Hotel was described as comparable to more upscale chains, so when Best Western popped up as the result I thought we overpaid. Then I read the reviews and thought this hotel would be the exception to the lower-budget Best Westerns I've stayed in--it was not. Room had bizarre odor, pool area was not well-maintained and adjacent gaming area had the feel of a 70's lounge. The worst part, our room was in a separate building that had a locked door with no key entry when it was still light out... so a huge inconvenience when we were parked right by that entrance. Do not spend more than $60 plus tax or you'll regret it.

This is a Great Hotel to stay at.. If you have to stay in the area, pick this Hotel. I stay at no other Hotel than this one, the Lounge has great buffet at a ridiculously low price. It is quiet, and comfortable to make my long stays more reasonable.

enjoyable all around and I would come back here again if need be. I even got to sing at the Karaoke bar which was a first time experience. My boyfriend and I loved the fact that everyone treated us like we were their only customers. thanks so much

Room was clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast buffet, however, depending on the location of room it may be tricky to find the first time. Friendly staff and a fun decor. A bit off the highway, but that makes the place a bit more quiet for a restful nights sleep. My room was large so lots of room to move around.

The Attached restaurant is convenient and the they offer reasonably priced dinners. They have a wide range of items on the menu. The Complimentary Breakfast offers hot and cold options and is always fresh. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone traveling for business or Pleasure.

I have stayed at the Best Western Long Branch hotel for the past 6 years and have never had a bad night's stay. The professionalism of the staff for the hotel branch is great. The amenities the hotel has to offer from two lounges to a restaurant that has some of the best meals in the Cedar Rapids area is just a couple of examples of why I love to stay here. I have traveled for business for the past 25 years and have stayed at many hotels, the Best Western Longbranch is the best hotel for total accommodation's that I have stayed at.

This hotel met our needs. It was very clean and the staff was super friendly. It is dog friendly as well! We were a little surprised by the location when we pulled up. It isn't in the best part of town. The breakfast and pool area is in anther building and they have a skywalk connecting the two.

This hotel is in an ideal location. There are not too many other nice hotels in the immediate area. There are two main buildings. The back building is newer, is away from road traffic, and has an atrium. Ask for it. There is an indoor swimming pool, a foos ball table, a billiards table, a bar, as well as breakfast area. It has 4 floors. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance if preferred.

Very clean hotel with all the amenities you could ask for. Best breakfast bar I have seen in quite a while, quality and variety of breakfast items were very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly, treated you as a guest, not as just another room filler.

very nice location, near restaurants and shopping. hotel has a restaurant but I didn't eat there. breakfast was good and had variety. there was coffee and apples in the lobby too. ask for a room away from the breakfast area if you don't like noise

This place is one of the best values I've ever received at a hotel. 2 lounges, one full service restaurant (we had $3 all you can eat wings at one of them). It was amazing the ammenaties we got for the money we paid. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I've had in years.

Hidden gem is right! Clean, remodeled ,comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom. Huge warm indoor pool, sauna&whirlpool. So quiet,we thought we were one of few guests until breakfast which was buzzing with several guests filling up on eggs, toast, bacon, fruit, yogurt, French toast, cereal, multiple drinks, awesome! Just a great atmosphere, homey, plenty of space and tables and t.v.s around a bar. Loved this place! So uniquely beautiful.

I booked this hotel using rewards points that I had built up from work. The booking process was easy like always. When we got to town and checked in the staff was very helpful. We ended up in a suite which is attached to the main building by a skywalk. The suite had a lot of space and was very clean, but it could use some updating and had a bit of a musty smell. The internet worked well and the beds were comfortable. In the morning we took the skywalk to the breakfast area which is next to the pool. The breakfast area was clean and well laid out. The breakfast was pretty good and the pool was very nice. Check out went smoothly and I would stay at the hotel again when in the area.

Lots of shopping in the area with comfortable surrounding. Great place for business or personal. Love its close to a mall , theater, and local food. One of few remaking happy joes restaurants with in walking distance. Scrapmania scrapbooking store with items you can't find in the chain stores is just down the street.

This hotel is an unfound gem. We chose this hotel because we were unhappy with another hotel we had been staying at during our trips to this area for several years. We were surprised at how wonderful it was. The check in process was quick and staff is wonderful, even the staff members you happen to pass in the hall or outside always had a friendly hello, or a how are you today, or can I help you with anything. The room was spotlessly clean and fresh smelling. Room had plenty of space and every ammenity needed, including high end shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. I have back problems and some other pain issues, the bed was extremely comfortable and I slept better than I have in years. I wanted to take it home with me. Unfortunately due to the delightful sleep we had we missed the continental breakfast but I heard it's great, we will not miss it again. We had 2 of our grandchildren with us the first night. We took them swimming and in the hot tub, and the sauna (or hot house) as they called it. A lot of fun was had. We did order an pizza and soft drinks by room service. Pizza was great and done just the way we asked. Makes me think that the rest of the food in the restaraunt is just as good. We go to Iowa often because our son and his family live there and will be staying at the Best Western from now on. We signed up for their frequent visitor program and received points for this stay. When we travel from now on we will also look for Best Westerns to stay at.

My family has stayed here many times, as my son is a college student in a nearby town. The rooms and common areas are clean. The pool area is well-maintained. Breakfast is wonderful, with cereals, rolls, fresh fruit, and several hot choices daily. Don't let the strange exterior influence your attitude about this hotel. It is a bit unconventional, but you will not be disappointed. Well worth the rate of $100-125/night.

Stopped in for a one night stay. The hotel is a great place to stay. Everything was in good order, staff was comfortable to interact with. There is a lot to do in this area and this is a great hotel to stay in while you are in town.

I enjoyed my stay here but it's a very off layout. To get to breakfast or the gym, you need to go up to the 4th floor and take the skywalk and then down 2 floors. Kind of a pain when you like to have breakfast in your room. The fitness center was great- a real gym! Bonus! I could control the temperature in the meeting room which was great for our small group. I enjoyed the apples they had out. Monday is $3 burger night in the restaurant. Delicious!

Excellent service and quality of room. My family really enjoyed the pool and having dinner at the Saturday night Buffet. I would recommend this motel for the convenience and quality of having a nice room, pool, and dinner just a short walk from the room.

Both checking in and checking out were pleasant experiences with friendly staff. The rooms were spacious. We had an accessible room and it was especially roomy for a wheelchair. My mother also appreciated the sliding door for the bathroom, the roll in shower, and night lights. Also included are refrigerators and microwaves. The breakfast is very nice and reminds me of an Embassy suites with lots of hot food choices. We didn't take advantage of all the hotel had to offer but there was plenty: bar with music, restaurant, exercise room, pool, and beautiful hiking paths out back. Great location, too.

The property is laid out strangely. It is quite a walk to the lobby and the restaurants. The work out center is in a whole different building. Now this should not be a turn off. It is very neat and the buffet that we had on Saturday night was great and very reasonable. It is a quiet hotel. The staff is great. The only problem was that they did not clean our room the next day? They left clean towels but that is all, did not fill coffee or change bedding. I am confused at that but normally we opt out for the changing of the sheets when we only stay 2 nights. It helps out with the environment so I really didn't mind, but I did bring it to their attention. They were very apologetic. I would definitely stay here again. The bed was so comfortable. The food was great and the staff very friendly. DO not judge by the outside of the hotel. It looks old, but the inside is very nice!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We were only there 1 night but it was great. The employees are extremely customer service focused. The woman at the front desk and the one in the breakfast area were super friendly, professional and professional. We did not get a chance to workout or go in the pool but both looked like they were top notch. I travel often and rarely see free weights in fitness center. The breakfast was the BEST!!! We were given a room upgrade. Everything was great. We will definitely stay here again. I have stayed in some upscale hotels and this one felt just as great and for a lot cheaper. We did not try the restaurant but it looked great as well. The bed was so cumfy!!! I can't say enough about this hotel.

Great things - Beds were extremely comfortable and breakfast tasted great. Breakfast selection was good, but I would have liked to see more hot choices like hash browns. Helpful, respectful staff. Overall this hotel property has a lot to offer guests. If you are hosting an event it is a MUST to look at. The space is great and well kept and up to date. The staff at the lounge and restaurant was very helpful and nice. The long walk between buildings could pose a problem for families with little ones or elderly. The security should be updated, new key slots for the outside doors, and the windows you could unlatch and jump right out of it you really wanted to. Plus it is kind of located in a shady apartment complex area so security should be heightened. The Sunday Brunch is fantastic, if you enjoy a large brunch with lots of choices, and for what you get the price is fair. I would stay at the LongBranch again but the pool area needs WORK! LOTS OF WORK...The Gold Zone Cafe was a great additional feature though.

Stayed at this hotel with extended family for family wedding. Beautiful, comfortable and safe. Nice ameneties, good breakfast. Area around the hotel also has nice restaurants, shopping and movie theatre.

Stayed here for a family wedding. Older hotel that had been recently remodeled. Comfortable, affordable and staff was nice. Close to everything. Lots of restaurants and shopping. The only complaint......low water pressure, however , I found this problem throughout the state of Iowa.

breakfast was a treat, check-in was easy, everyone was nice, and the room was comfy and quiet, and the $3 meals in the lounge are a real steal. The hotel is different from any other I've stayed in, and it was close to everything. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will be staying again. If I had -anything- bad to say, it's that the shower pressure isn't the best, but otherwise, this place is a must-try.

For the traveler who uses the gym, restaurant, and pool, this place is excellent. Older hotel so you wouldn't know it from the outside. They are remodeling to freshen up the look inside. Biggest gym at a hotel I've stayed at, as a 5 day/month traveler. Restaurant had very wide variety menu. Good location to freeway and easy access to downtown. Price was very fair. Will stay there again.

very dated, pictures online looked great, deceiving! Musty rooms, didn't even turn on air the first night because of the smell. Cleaned the filter in my sink and it was better. Lumpy pillows and bad breakfast and coffee. We had a tiny bathroom with bad lighting and bad water pressure, although a friend said here bathroom was a walk-in shower(no bath). The only good thing about this hotel was being there with our friends and free wi-fi. Don't expect to bring in your own food or drinks, it's against their policy. You must buy at their bar(poor) or restaurant(did not go).

We always have a great time here and pleasant stay. The food in the hotel is very good; it is also close to many other restaurant options. There is shopping in the area as well. The whole family loves the pool & hot tub as well as the gaming area.

The room was nice and clean, bathroom was clean as well. Terrible water pressure in the shower though, but that is not unusual in hotels anymore. Beds were very comfortable and the free breakfast was pretty good too. The location was not ideal and the hotel was very difficult to find as it was hidden behind a strip mall.

I have had the pleasure to stay at the Longbranch 3-4 times over the last 3 years. The Service has always been exceptional! There is a restaurant/bar on premises that has specials during the week like taco bar on Wednesdays (awesome) and wings on Thursdays. The pool was heated-and I mean it was warm enough to swim in! Whirlpool is huge-open until 10:30. There is also a pool table, couple of video games and a fitness area that is very nice! You can get breakfast cooked to order(minimal $)-or do the buffet for no charge-although please remember to leave a tip for wait staff Loretta at the front desk is my favorite lady at the front desk who has been tolerant of my requests and anticipates my needs almost before I ask. All of the staff at the Longbranch is GREAT! The facility is clean through and through-absolutely no issues with the room or anywhere in the hotel!
