    « Old fashioned & fusty decor »

Good points - great receptionist. Lots of electric sockets. Bad points. Dusty brocades, fussy hangings over immense old school wooden four poster, but with ugly plastic lamps. Hideous old scruffy chest and wardrobe but nowhere to put suitcase. Hallucinogenic carpet. Customer service poor - I had warned them I needed no feather bedding as I am sensitive to the dust. But on arrival - you guessed - feather pillows. They said they would replace while I was at meeting. Came back and found one polyester pillow and one FEATHER. Why do hotels insist on feather bedding? It's unhygienic as it can't be regularly washed. When you think how many heads and bodies lie on them...even with protectors. Its enough to make one gag. Feathers produce fine dust. Even if not allergic, it isn't likely to be good breathing it in all night.

    « Quirky interior - comfy beds »

I've stayed here on three or four different occasions. It's always clean and the beds are comfy. Interior design is somewhat odd - there's a roman bust bathed in rainbow lights in one of the corridors, and a giant chair near reception... Probably to match the 8ft bronze naked woman in the garden. Staff are polite and the food in the restaurant is good. :)

« Great staff and wonderful Hotel »

we stayed for three nights at the end of August this year, just for a get away break, we had DDB booked, we had free drinks vouchers on arrival, the breakfast and evening meals were great with a menu for all tastes. the bed was comfortable and there is also a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzi, we had a very relaxing time.

    « Excellent. »

My son and daughter in law booked this hotel for their wedding last weekend (17th ). My wife and I booked from the Thursday until Monday, with most of the 100 wedding guests booking rooms from the Friday. I have to say the whole experience was first class from start to finish. The staff were amazing, with a very special mention to the Ops Manager John, he could not do enough for the wedding party and was always there when we needed something, I would recommend John gets a pay rise haha. I have spoken to many of the wedding party and they have all said how much they enjoyed their stay. Possibly the only small negative was the price of the drinks , but was only small negative. I will definitely be back to this hotel in the near future, and hopefully get a chance to buy John a drink . High recommend this hotel for a wedding.

    « Fantastic Family Wedding »

We arrived on Thurs 15 Sept to prepare for our son's wedding on the Sat. From beginning to end our stay was fantastic. The staff were friendly & helpful & the hotel is a lovely venue for a wedding. There were around 100 friends & family there staying on the big day and we really have no complaints. The wedding room was beautiful, the meal outstanding & the DJ at night was great. In particular John the Operations Manager was amazing, he was very helpful & ensured everything ran smoothly from the set up on the Friday night to the actual day it's self followed by breakfast on Sunday where they accommodated the wedding guests in a specially set up room. We definitely had a day to member & the hotel staff definitely helped ensure the day was a success. Some felt the drinks were a bit expensive but no more so than other hotels & they did offer specials on the day in the wedding room. Very happy Mum ??

    « Excellent service »

Met up with family who were pitstopping here on their way to Scotland. Although the food was good, I found it to be a little over priced. What made it easier to handle was the staff who were both friendly and attentive (not overly) We finished the evening in the J28 bar, which again, although pricing was a little "top end", the surroundings were ideal and Rebecca could not have been more helpful and cheerful. So all in all a very enjoyable evening. We'll all be back.

    « Excellent staff »

Again, after more stays at the BW Leyland, and due to job change, probably my last visit, but I can't help but give more praise to the staff, who are always friendly and helpful, Barman Manager Gareth, hotel Managers Roland, Lois and Faye,(who does every job) along with Restaurant Waitress Beth, can't do enough to make your stay pleasant. And of course Holly at reception, again helps with all the minor booking problems , thanks to them all. , the restaurant menu, not being as good as previous visits, but thats down to the "powers to be" fault, not the staffs fault, but saying that, keep up the good work guys

« Ok but nothing special »

Poor menu and dinner doesn't start until 6.30. I noticed there were loads of small flies all around the bar area, very off putting when I ordered coffee. Everything is expensive £3.50 for a cup of coffee... Rooms are quite nice. Been in worse but for. 4* hotel I've been in much better.

    « What a night! »

We booked in this hotel for a special birthday for my husband with 16 in our group. Everything went like clockwork. The dinner was excellent. The booking process was very smooth and Jessica was very helpful. On the night, Fergus and all of his team (particularly Myles) made the whole evening special. They were so attentive even though there was a large wedding going on at the time. We had a piper (Cameron) and Fergus arranged for the wedding party to also enjoy some of his tunes whilst we were able to enjoy the Red Rosettes - lady singers booked for the wedding party! Breakfast was superb and I can only congratulate the whole of the team for making our stay great. We have stayed at this hotel three or four times and particularly would like to mention we were there in August 15 for my sister's wedding which was also a wonderful experience. Need I say more but I cannot praise them enough for their teamwork. The rooms are warm and comfortable with all you need when you are travelling and what fabulous, comfortable beds! We will be back there soon,

    « 80th birthday »

just got back from 80th birthday meal over the weekend of 16/9/16. The whole experience from start to finish was superb. Despite the hotel catering for a wedding and a 40 strong ladies choir all the staff oped very well indeed. We were with a party of 16 people , and had a private room for the meal (capri suite~) and Miles was assigned as our host for the evening. The meal was excellent and served at a relax pace . At one point the manager Fergus helped with the service, and and the service could not have been more attentive yet discreet. Yes the bar prices are expensive but it is a hotel at the higher end so guests should expect thuis!. The room was very well equiped , with hairdryer, iron and board. This was a standard room but we have stayed in other higher spec rooms that are superb within the hotel. Breakfast was very good, buffet style , but with other items such as fish cooked to order, and a glass of bucks fizz to start. Weel done Fergus, Miles and Holly the receptionist.

« Expensive Gas Less beer »

Was invited to attend a birthday function at this venue and it was very nice but the bar prices are eye watering. To make matters worse the gas had been turned off and the lager was very flat. Took too long to convince the manager of his error and at over £5 a pint you expect better. Buffet was very good and service was great.

    « Disappointing visit »

We selected this hotel after reading some of the reviews, our first encounter was with a very unhelpful receptionist we had been traveling for 6 hours and were very hot and tired we ordered a tray of tea for our room the receptionist couldn't understand why we were bothering when we had tea making facilities in the room. Explained we were tired and wanting a tray of tea brought to the room. The tea never arrived after an hour we enquired to find out she hadn't bothered to order it. The room was very small and cramped the bed very uncomfortable and the pillows and duvets were appalling. For a four star hotel it was sadly lacking.

    « Medic emergency »

All was going well at this eye pleasing hotel before our party suffered a quite serious incident. After a trip to the bar, we was shocked that the price of a pint of lemonade was £4.20. After 45 minutes servere heart palpitations, we had to leave. We felt the need to photo the evidence in case we proceed to sue the hotel. God bless.

    « Birthday Celebrations »

We hosted a large multiple Birthday bash here. It had been booked for over 9 months and from start to finish everything went relatively smoothly. The only issue was the change in staff as the person we booked it with moved on and we had to go over everything again with the new lady as she could not find the details of our booking. The free room with breakfast thrown in when you book an event was great as we could chill out after the event and in the morning. The buffet was very good and different to other venues I have attended and many of the guests commented about it. Staff on the evening were great and very attentive and dealt with any and all questions we had. A great night was had by all My only thing would be for the reception staff to be as cheerful as all the others in the Hotel :)

    « Lunch visit only »

Met an old friend here for lunch as I was passing (M6!). Fairly standard bar snacks menu: not the best I've ever had but not the worst either. Menu was pretty limited, but that might have been because there was a restaurant as well, somewhere, that would have offered a better range so the bar only offered a small choice.

    « Wedding 2/9/2016 »

My partner and i got married here 2 days ago. I honestly dont have a bad word to say about the place. Jess the wedding organizer helped with everything and made planning stress free. On the day fergus and faye were amazing. Not only did they do their jobs brilliantly but they also had a personal touch. All my guests had an amazing day and me and adam couldn't of chosen a better place to have our special day. We can't thank all the staff enough.

    « Wedding »

Had our wedding yesterday 3rd September and it was absolutely amazing. Fergus and his team were so attentive nothing was too much trouble. They made our day amazing would highly recommend this hotel for your special day. Will miss not having to contact them - they feel like family.

« Long weekend for six »

Hotel is really nice with good facilities and close yo M6 for Blackpool or Preston. It's looking a little bit tired inside but excellent value overall, especially for us with a family of six - so we needed two adjoining family rooms. Not been to the pool yet but will be going later. I would from recommend this place to others.

    « Beware the barman ... »

Overall a good hotel. Nice room, although too hot with no AC but you can't blame the hotel for the weather. Breakfast buffet really good. Staff excellent. So why the title? I have been here three nights and ordered a large glass of wine with my meal (which is excellent by the way). I thought they were a bit small but without a measuring device I could not be sure due to the unusual shape of glass. Tonight, a different person served and I had a much fuller, I mean significantly fuller glass. I now have no way of addressing the problem so I post this as a warning. If in doubt , ask. I hate being ripped off even for a few pounds.

    « Unforgettable Wedding Day 27th August 2016 »

From our very first visit to enquire about arranging our wedding we received unbelievable service from the Manager Fergus and Faye who were so very helpful from day one. Faye took the worry off our hands and made suggestions about how to plan our day which we would never have thought of . Nothing was too much trouble for them and even when they were busy they took the time to help with any enquiries we had. They made the whole process so easy and enjoyable for us . On the day itself everything was brilliant.. We had our ceremony there followed by the most amazing barbeque which nobody could fault in fact every guest had a positive comment and the wide variety of food was incredible. The evening reception continued in the same manner and the evening buffet, once again, was faultless. It was said by all that it was by far the best wedding they had ever attended. All were friendly and accommodating especially The manager Fergus , Faye , Tanya the chef and Holly on reception just to mention a few of the amazing staff. The Photographer, Matt, who was recommended by Fergus was brilliant and his professionalism friendly Nature and patience, especially with the children was second to none Everybody was made so welcome even the young children . The attention to detail to ensure our special day went without a hitch was phenomenal and we couldn't have asked for more. My new wife Linda put all her trust in Faye to organise and arrange her wedding day and boy did she deliver, we couldn't be more grateful, we were treated like royalty for the whole day. Faye was brilliant and in our eyes and those of our guests she could do no wrong. If you are planning your wedding we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and you should pay them a visit as you will not be disappointed!! They created a wedding day to remember and absolutely everything went to plan and our special thanks once again go to Fergus , Faye and all the staff . Linda & Tony Durrant

    « Continuing Excellence »

A hotel review is often just a 'snapshot' of a single visit. To get a consistent view of the quality of a hotel,, several visits must be made. I have been to the Best Western Hallmark Hotel regularly over the past 12 months. This hotel is friendly, has efficient and genuine service by caring staff and it offers great value for money. However, my biggest 'rave' is that it consistently achieves these standards! Well done to a true effort.

    « wedding »

Me and my now wife booked this hotel for our wedding on 21st August. To start with the staff were fantastic, Faye sorted pretty much everything which removed a lot of stress, she kept in contact with us on a regular basis which was so helpfull. the food was second to none and everyone on the day/night gave it high praise. Thankyou to all the kitchen staff, Chef and especially Tanya for helping us with the cake and the taster night. me and my wife can do nothing but praise Faye and Tanya for there warmth and help they gave us on this special day. Highly recommended if your planning your wedding. Thankyou Andy & Jo

« "Good night but disappointing morning!" »

No problem with the room or facilities all nice and clean, reception and check in were excellent despite my room card not working and once again having to listen to the lecture about mobile phones and room key cards! The hotel let itself down in the morning, I went into breakfast no staff present helped myself to cereal, saw a member of staff taking orders for tea and toast from other guests. I waited five minutes after I had finished my cereal but it did not look like a staff member was coming my way so I left. Check out required making a phone call to get a member of staff to deal with me. It does not need a lot of thinking about that if a guest is up at 6-30am for breakfast he does not have time to hang about!

« Lovely place with a few niggles. »

I only stayed for one night, I arrived at 7pm and checked in at a very pleasant and friendly reception desk. Went to my room which was very small and cramped with a small double bed. It was however perfectly clean and well presented so as I was the only person in the room I wasnt too bothered about the lack of space. The bar area was pleasant although a little expensive. The restaurant was superb for evening meal with a varied menu and food well presented. The breakfast service however was poor, toast arrived when we had all finished and coffee/tea wasn't even offered. I didn't complain because my hosts were with me and we're paying the bill. The hot breakfast buffet was however was of a very good standard. Also a dreadful signal on the room tv made it unusable , not down to the signal reception because the tv in the bar worked fine. All in all its a really nice place that just needs to up its game a little.

« walk in shower very accessible by wheelchair user »

Despite its compact dimensions this disabled access room had every we needed for a successful stay, The walk in shower was very accessible despite its compact dimensions. The only problem was getting the wheelchair into the room, this was quickly fixed by borrowing a door wedge from reception, but maybe a hook for the door would be better? Dining here was enjoyable and the staff helpful, but delivery of drinks from the bar rather unreliable... We stayed again, many thanks to the helpful staff particularly on reception, but this is usually our experience of all Best Western Hotels who are honest about any of the access problems to their older premises

    « Wedding disappointment »

I had my wedding here recently. I booked the hotel 18 months in advance to secure the date and thought it would give more than enough time to make the arrangements etc. I chose this particular venue due to its close proximity to the M6 as my family don't live local so it would be easy for them to get to. I also chose it because I thought it looks quite impressive and pretty and would take most of the burden of the planning off my shoulders as I had no support locally and planning a wedding is pretty difficult when it's your own and stressful. The initial visit my partner and I were shown around the Hotel. Shown the ceremony room, reception room, the pool and spa, rooms and given the overall information on what to expect. It was all very thorough and we were both impressed and decided it was definitely the place for us to have our ceremony and reception. We loved it and based on everything we had seen and been told thought we would be in perfect hands in a perfect location with everything under one roof to enable ease for those family who lived far and had to travel and stay over. I visited the Hotel on many occasions over the coming year or more to make payments, check my details were correct and to ask what I do, to try to plan my wedding. I was apprehensive the whole time as I never once had any communications from the Hotel and when asked I was always told that details would be finalised nearer the time and anything I wanted to discuss would be done then. We paid up in advance but it was still hazy as we didn't really have a clue what would be going on and we had only given general ideas of what we wanted and I really wanted to discuss things but never got the chance. With just over 4 weeks to go to our wedding and still not having heard from the hotel we went in to see what was going on. The comment I got on explaining why I was there was "I haven't seen you here before". This upset me as my partner and I had paid many visits here, but in fairness of all the people I had seen it was the first time I had seen her too. Always different people. I was told they didn't have many details for me and were confused... Welcome to my world. I had checked my details every time I had been in so this was another upsetting comment for me. I think I lost hope at this point. I was told I had slipped through their net and they put it down to change of management and company etc. the new lady who was dealing with us was very helpful though and did everything she could to put things right. With only 4 weeks to go we obviously had no money left as we had expected everything to be dealt with a long long time before now so thought we had paid what we were meant to but she did some juggling and altered things to make allowances for this. She also invited us in for a complimentary meal. The meal was delicious. Quite a wait for it but gave us time to discuss a few details. Nothing left for us to do but wait until the big day then. Ceremony went well. Room was lovely and well set out and staff waiting with a drink each for us as we walked back up the aisle. I never heard the song on the way out. It was my choice so I was disappointed but later on I was assured by a member of staff that it had been played it was just that my family were loud. Guests weren't happy waiting in the reception/bar area until we were allowed to go into room an hour and a half later and most complained it was disorganised. I myself didn't like this. I was told about this when first making arrangements early on and expressed my disapproval, but at 4 weeks before it was an issue I had forgotten about. The room was all ready. Guests would have been more than happy to go in even though entertainment not starting until later. It may also have lessened the chances of what happened later of happening. Also it was a good ten minute wait or more at the empty bar before someone came to serve. We took some lovely pictures on the red carpet and took a break to take more later as we didn't yet have any of the groom with his parents or me with my mum but we all needed a sit down and a drink. When we eventually went into the reception room I found it very much to my liking. Very well set out, very clean and guests were happy. Guests were very impressed with the food and canapés they had after ceremony they all loved. Again it was quite a wait at the bar at times. We did seem to attract a hanger on and I think she first started latching on during the wait in the reception/bar area. Pretending she was with family etc and I think people actually thought she was with us. Even staff until I complained when my new husbands wallet went missing and she tried stealing my bouquet. Staff found this situation difficult to handle and even told me that she hadn't dealt with anything like this before. I felt like I was the one in the wrong, especially when I went back to reception at one point and got the "oh no here she comes again" whisper as I approached. We searched everywhere for the wallet and never found it. My husband spent over an hour on the phone cancelling credit cards and bank cards and we lost quite a lot of time that should have been spent enjoying our reception and never did get those photos. We also never got any help with regards to finding out who stole it. When asked about cctv to track it down and maybe catch the culprit, especially considering we had a suspect we were denied it and told it is for monitoring purposes only. It was reported to the police but without cctv from the hotel they can't do anything about it. I can't blame staff for the theft as these things happen and it was just very unfortunate that it happened to us. It's not something you expect to happen in a 4 star hotel and staff were not prepared. Although they should be prepared for every eventuality so they can deal with the matter properly and efficiently. We were both very disappointed and upset over what happened and angry as it ruined our day and deeply disappointed with the hotel for its complete lack of help with regards to this issue. It is a beautiful venue and food is delicious. Rooms clean and tidy. The staff are actually quite nice and polite. Some can be a little abrasive but overall quite pleasant. I just think they really need to do something with regards to their security measures and the handling of situations like this. Also ensure that no one in the future "slips through their net" again. It's supposed to be a special day. My first marriage and hopefully my only marriage. My memories of the day will be forever filled with disappointment. Thankfully I have a fantastic new husband who doesn't. At least something went right. ?? I would like to add though that I wouldn't want this to put off any future clients or guests. This is my review of my day. Just because they let me down it doesn't mean they will do it again. I am hoping my disappointments will help to improve the areas lacking and ensure that this doesn't happen to someone else or at least if it does it will be handled better. I also urge anyone who experiences a theft to report it to the police even if nothing can be done because it is then at least on file and could help someone later on.

« Good hotel with pool and spa facilities »

Good hotel near motorway and Leyland rail station. Rooms are a good size and quality, with comfortable beds and reasonable bathrooms. The added bonus is the pool and spa facilities available to guests at the hotel. The hotels owner has some quirky but fun tastes including a Brobdingnagian chair in reception.

    « Best western leyland - Avoid »

Awful-outdated dirty room, poor customer service, over priced. I complained about the room and was told as I had not booked direct I was allocated that room and said there was nothing they could do to move or compensate me. Kept awake by other guests next door, complained repeatedly and nothing was done, when I asked why the next day I was told the night porter didn't think they were being loud enough to warrant the staff saying anything. At breakfast they tried to charge £15 each when questioned the staff member got a manager who told us it was actually £10. There only saving grace was we were given two breakfasts for £10 to compensate the room, customer service the night before and wrong pricing. A shame that nothing was done or offered when concerns were initially raised as being fobbed off by unhelpful staff puts a damper on your stay.

Good breakfast, plenty of choice of cooked and continental breakfasts, even bucks fizz! Staff helpful to a friend who had dietary needs. Room was good, shame it was very low and felt very dark. wifi was a bit intermittent but didn't matter much to me.

    « Very good »

Perfect for business or pleasure. Very pleasant staff at reception and breakfast. Rooms very spacious and clean. TV reception poor and not HD but not really an issue. Only let down is there's not a gym on site, just done treadmills. It does have a sauna though but not something I'd go for.

    « Overnight stop »

This hotel was a very acceptable overnight stop on our way to Scotland via The Lake District. Well positioned near to theM6, but not noisy. Dinner & breakfast both good & public areas comfortable. Room fine too. My criticism was that the room was far too hot (very humid day & night). We were however told they had run out of fans......not acceptable in this standard of hotel as no air conditioning.

    3
    « Extortionate drink prices!! »

£4.20 for a pint of Coke is vile! The place it's self is lovely but I can't understand how they can charge so much for drinks!! Went to a family wedding, food was lovely but was let down definitely by the drink prices, disappointed to say the least!

    « Another excellent trip »

A great hotel just off the M6 motorway and 5-10 minutes walk from Leyland Railway Station. Rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. Very clean. Only issue was slow check in as a customer was querying the prices of rooms for a future visit and only 1 person was on duty. Food is always of a high standard with a great choice at breakfast time. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will definitely be back.

    « Standards are Slipping »

Have stayed here several times but never again . It was exceptional hot weather and had to purchase our own fan because they had run out of them , for a four star hotel I find this unacceptable . I had to ask for the table to be cleaned in the bar and felt standards are slipping here . The staff are very friendly the bar food was good . The hotel in places needs a bit of attention again for a "four star " this is not acceptable . I dont go away expecting to purchase my own fan and to be told we can put you on a waiting list for one . It looks like we will have to find another hotel in Preston .

« Too hot for comfort »

After a really good stay in 2015 we decided to visit again while meeting up with our friends. For a one night DBB deal from Travelzoo with wine & chocolates in room. Room was possibly the smallest hotel room we have ever stayed in & was incredibly warm (it was a hot day/night). We had brought our own fan which helped a little but it was not the most comfortable of stays. Food in restaurant was pretentious & extremely expensive - we had £23 allowance each against menu & managed one course - sirloin steak which was £24 so had to pay the extra - cheaper main courses were around £19. Staff were however very helpful - we were meeting our friends at 8.15 pm in Leyland & earliest we could get in for dinner was 7.15 so staff arranged for us to order in advance & our meal was served at 7.20 pm. Hotel has just been taken over by Hallmark so it may improve in terms of rooms/restaurant although it is difficult to see how the room could have been made larger. Leisure centre was excellent - very big, warm pool & very warm, large spa tub. Given the room size it is unlikely we would return.

« good place to stay »

located just off the motorway,we missed it after turning off and saw a old Leyland fire engine outside after doing a u turn entered the ample car-park checked in with friendly staff at reception , rooms very good breakfast very good we stopped here for 4 nights before heading to the isle of man from Heysham for a visit also a good base to explore around the area on day trips would recommend this hotel for a good stay and sleep

My wife, sister in law and I have just returned from a five day holiday trip with Kirby's. The hotel was very good, the food was excellent despite the fruit salad being very Apple based. The staff were courteous and attentive. The room was clean and was well stocked with tea and coffee including decaf with out being asked. Well done, we would definitely think of this hotel if travelling to this part of the country.

Well Rodney what can I say about this place?! The receptionist was ok, but during my stay she did send 2 separate couples to rooms that already had people in them? Mange tout, mange tout. The decor was obviously sourced material on the cheap by Del Boy as none of it makes sense, from the tacky carpets to the mismatched chairs. My room was towards the rear of the property and reminded me of a dark dungeon with furniture again provided from Nelson Mandela house. There is no air con and you have to out up with the smallest window in Western Europe. Throughout the hotel the furniture was so old it was shiny. The tables in the bar were sticky and dirty and my cutlery had fingerprints all over it. All joking apart, I travel a lot with my business and provide negative reviews very rarely, but this place is poor compared to others locally and I will not be returning. Oh and if you do wish to watch TV, you may need to wait a while for the valves to warm up!!!

    « Wonderful Hotel. »

Four of stayed at The Best Western,Leyland on a one night Wowcher deal. The stay was a complete success. The room was large, clean & well serviced as was the spa area that was fantastic. The spa has the usual sauna, steam room & a lovely pool which is 5 ft deep in all area's. The deal involved a 3 course meal which was delicious & perfectly served by the waitresses. The staff were friendly & extremely efficient. All in all the visit was excellent & I would highly recommend The Best Western,Leyland. Many thanks for a great visit.

    « BEAUTIFUL RELAXING »

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days as we were visiting Liverpool, I can't recommend this hotel highly enough the staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble for them they were very friendly and curtious. The food in the restaurant was excellent to a very high standard, you also received free canopy'so before your meal which I thought was exceptional as I've never received that anywhere else I have stayed. The facilities were excellent there is a pool and a small gym that you can use. It's easy to find just off the M6 so there was no stress involved findin it. They also provided a free bottle of wine on arrival which could be exchanged if it was your tipple. The bedroom was lovely linen and towels were lovely and soft decorated to a high standard the cleanliness was to a very high standard our bedroom was spotless. The breakfast menu was to a very high standard as well. The staff were all very smartly dressed at all times. The hotel had an event on when we were staying and they worked exceptionally hard but service was never comprised as we were in the bar staff were always cheery and pleasant. I used the pool and sauna during g my stay and it was beautiful and exceptionally clean. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a very luxurious and elegant and can't wait to go back again.

    « Saturday evening away »

Hotel is set near to the m6 and is very convenient to get too . On arrival the fire engine is very impressive in the car park , on check in we where met by a lady who serously needed to enjoy her job a bit more . The rest of the staff where very pleasant , communal area in the bar need a bit of a clean but overall ok , room was very clean and spacious just very hot and stuffy . The swimming pool area is brilliant . The food at this hotel was ok , we both had sirloin steak but wasn't cooked to the required standard . Overall though this hotel is a good standard and for 135 pound dinner bed and breakfast great value

« Relaxing stay at a great hotel »

My husband and I stayed here on our excursion to Lake district. It is a very quaint lovely hotel and as per the name the decor and the upholstery is very luxurious and elegant. It has a indoor heated pool which is great. The rooms are quite small and cramped and this is one area that needs improvement. The surrounding garden area is very well kept and the Leyland fire truck in the front lawns is to watch out for.

    « Amazing staff »

First time visiting a best western and can honestly say from the welcome to the goodbye was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, special mention for one of the lady's Mel who managed to calm my 4 year old who decided to have a tantrum half way through her breakfast. Highly reccomended.

    « lovely and friendly »

overnight stop on way to Scotland and overnight stay on way back to Dorset. Coach party booked in and rooms allocated very quickly by lovely happy staff. Rooms (although a little small ) had everything we needed and more (slippers, dressing gowns, toiletries, iron and board, hairdryer, tea coffee etc. Comfortable bed and very clean. Room was VERY hot and had to keep window open ALL night :( . Food was lovely and staff are friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble for them .

    « Lovely stay. »

Enjoyed a lovely break here.Rooms are comfortable with lovely bed linen and nice soft towels.Decor is tasteful but dark( would renew the ghastly net curtain though) and good tea making fascilities.Sadly the plughole in the sink was full of hairs and gunge and 'round the bend' in the toilet was in need of a good clean(blackness could be seen). Ate in the Restaurant a couple of nights and food was delightful. Also ate in the bar and although menu limited ,food was good.Had a drink in the bar every night of our stay - only wish the tables were wiped between customers!! Breakfasts have everthing, really spoiled for choice.Plates are lovely and warm.On my last morning ,picked up my plate and was about to get my bacon and eggs(immediately next to plate warmer) when I was informed by a waiter(the only one not wearing a black apron)that I should be starting at the other end. This had never been an issue the rest of our stay.Surely it would make more sense to start where you picked up your plate .Last thing normally in a buffet breakfast is scrambled egg and beans, not the first, Sadly wasn't able to make use of the swimming pool as it is 5ft deep throughout.A midget like me likes to be able to touch the bottom!! Did enjoy the visit and would use again.

    « Cost cutting exercise »

The hotel has friendly feel about it. The rooms are being updated slowly. The breakfast was disappointing as I rarely eat the cooked items. There seems to be a cost cutting exercise on breakfast items with the removal of the fresh fruit basket, grapefruit and also grapefruit juice. There were even times there was no honey available. The restaurant staff were very helpful especially Mel, Olivia and Georgia. Sometimes the staff are overrun with demand on an evening. Keep up the good work and hopefully Hallmark will reinstate the missing breakfast items.

« Nice place to stay just off motorway »

Clean and tidy rooms with Leyland Motors themes. Cannot comment on restaurant as ate elsewhere, but food and drinks are on the expensive side. Staff at reception very helpful and friendly. Can get very busy on weekends as it accommodates wedding guests

« Great one night stay »

This is a nice hotel, the rooms are reasonable and the services is very good. It's much better than the hotel at Park Hall and is highly recommended. The decor is old but not overly dated and the staff service is perfectly fine.

« Good restaurant, ghastly decor »

Stopped over on a DB&B package to break up a long journey. Fairly standard 1980s place close to the motorway, but it ticked all the right boxes - comfortable and well-appointed room, nice pool, overall good value. The lounge/reception areas were hung with a distressing number of TV screens, but the sleeping end of the hotel was reasonably quiet despite it being a saturday night with a worrying number of wedding-party types in evidence. But dear God, the decor... like the entire cast of Benidorm had been tasked with giving the place an Italian-style makeover, didn't quite have the budget, and couldn't quite agree on the detail. Sorry, but the overall effect was just downright ludicrous and somewhat trashy in a half-hearted sort of way.. On the other hand, the restaurant was very, very good - rather pricey for this sort of venue but with a decent and imaginative menu, well-executed. We'd stay again, this is a decent hotel, even if the decor's rather bizarre.

We got a really good deal and stayed for one night room only. The room furnishings were a bit tired but very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

    « Doesn't deliver »

Staying overnight for a family party. Could hear every single noise on the floor. Doors slamming and people talking. Also advertisements for 24hr food, like pizza, when we tried to order got told that none of the food advertised was available and it was just sandwiches and that they didn't know what was advertised in the room. Maybe don't advertise it then. Aside from that the hotel was clean and the staff when we checked in were helpful and went the extra mile to book a taxi for us.

We have had a great stay at the Hallmark Premirr Hotel. Our hobby weekend has been great, the staff are all excellent l but Olivia is a star she couldn't do enough for us. The food for lunch was good and the Dinber exceptiobnal, we are looking forward to another visit.

« A fine stop over just off the Motorway »

I stayed only needing to use a bed. I had no evening meal, the room was fine and the breakfast was passable, service could have been better....had to ask for a coffee 3 times but you can't blame on member of staff on a hotel experience. It was good value and I would stay again if on business.

« Lovely, lovely, lovely!! Just one complaint. »

My husband and I have just spent three nights at the hotel and the room was good but the food was excellent as we're all the staff. I would like to give special thanks to Lois, Sarah and Zits, nothing was too much trouble and the were always smiley and friendly. The one thing that did spoil our break was the wedding on the Saturday. The wedding party decided to divert from their own room into the bar and it was totally and unacceptable behavior from some of them. They were shouting and screaming at one another and the language for all to hear was disgusting. They had a roulette wheel in one corner so you can guess the noise which came from that, added to the other revellers. Why on earth the duty manager didn't do anything about it I will never know. They should stay in the room which they hired, nog spoil everyone else's hotel break which they had paid for. Also while we were eating 2 of the party had the audacity to come into the restaurant with their drinks and parked themselves at a table. I have noticed that the hotel management don't seem to respond to the reviews but I would like a real I n as to this please as the behavior of some of the guests in the wedding party was unacceptable and I need to know why management don't step in for the rights of other guests.

    « not 4* - I would suggest somewhere else »

Spend 30+ nights away a year, and for the money, this is one of the worst. Room was too hot (no air con), no fans, curtains don't shut (curtain hangers prevent it), even the remote doesn't have a back on it!. Leisure club shut due to dangerous roof (no mention of that when it was booked). room was £100 incl. breakfast - better off at the premier inn down the road. spoke to other guests, and having the same issues.

    « Excellent staff »

Can I take this opportunity to praise the staff for their very pleasant manor and their helpful attitude throughout this hotel, two people in special, Holly at the reception desk has helped me on numerous occasion in booking my stay, in which she ensures the best possible deal that otherwise I would know about and Restaurant Manager Lois who always ensures service with a smile and a wide range of her menu knowledge even after a new menu is produced , I will constantly stay here as long as my business requires me to be in this area, and will not think twice of a personal stay either, 5 star staff in a 4 + hotel, highly recommended

I booked this hotel for a group and the hotel was fantastic. Staff went the extra mile to make it a special stay. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone in our group commented on how lovely every member of staff were. We all had breakfast and evening meals both days and the food was excellent. When I booked the rooms everything was easy to organise and all our special requests were met.

Just spent the weekend at this hotel we booked this hotel weeks ago when we booked there was no mention of the spar and pool being closed so we were disappointed when we booked in it was only on the following day we were given a complementary drink.wow the only other fault was when we went for breakfast the food was very dry if it had been there for hours.

    « Superb »

Had a 1 night break here with friends, and after changing rooms to doubles rather than twins, everything really was superb ?? Had lunch which was tasty and nicely presented, but the evening meal was top class , compliments to the chef ?? A very big thank you to all staff, whom all, apart from one, we're professional, polite, chatty & gave excellent service. Well done, you added to our experience. Would have given 5 stars, but was only marked down due to leisure facilities still shut, however was offered a drinks voucher per guest to apologise. Also given a bottle of water for journey home as very hot day, nice touches. Will definitely visit again when pool up and running and hope to then give the 5 stars ?? Thank you to those staff who go the extra mile, it really makes a difference. ??

We had a group visit and the service was great. Private dining area for a large group with great food served to everyone in a reasonable time. « Hotel is not suitable for vacationers. »

Set up is for Business travelers, Conferences, Weddings, Banquets etc. only, not vacationers No mini fridge in any room, ie No way of keeping anything cold. Breakfast had very limited times, No coffee makers, just HW kettle with instant coffee (terrible). Coffee bar set up in open lounge was for Conference attendees only.( we were actually politely told that when we tried to take our morning coffee from there). but to buy one at the bar !. Food is expensive but excellent, again dining room had very limited access times. Other services were quite good. Room cleaning service was efficient and accommodating. Pool & Spa were out of service due to roof repair.

    « Fantastic Night »

So I have driven past this hotel a thousand times when working in the area but never stayed or been in until my friend invited me to her hen party here. Arrived and was greeted by friendly staff, room was ready and the wonderful Miss Faye Finney could not have been more helpful and tended to my every need and made sure my room was comfortable and provided an excellent service. On attending the function room in the evening I could not believe how stunning and glamorous the room looked and set up too for an evening of sophistication and frivolities. The time and effort that went into this was second to none and this I understand was all down to Miss Tanya Finney (great sister partnership here) The evening meal was served and was not only pleasing to the eye with presentation, but tasted amazing too. The waiting staff catered to our every need and as it was a hen night, on serving the personalised desserts they served the same with that added touch wearing fireman helmets and fountain sparklers!! wow I could go on and on but the staff were amazing and I would highly recommend not just a stay but a function/celebration here with no hesitation, I will definitely stay again. Thank you to all the staff that made it a memorable evening.

    « Disappointing reception! »

Arrived at 1:20 after long journey, I knew check in was 2pm but thought I would check if room was ready - went to reception and was told room not ready yet but there was an exec suite ready if I wanted to pay another £10! There was one couple in the bar lounge & no-one else around - I wondered if our room was truly unavailable.... The receptionist said if you would like to come back at about 1:45 your room may be ready - Not - would you like to take a seat in the lounge until your room is ready. A bit disgruntled I returned to the car and waited until 1:45!! Our room now ready. The hotel and our room, which was very hot), was very nice and the evening meal in the bar OK. Just suspicious of the initial reception.

I got me and my boyfriend a nights stay off wowcher but was able to book it directly through the hotel which was simple for £99 we got a nights stay wine and chocolates on arrival, a three course meal, access to the swimming pool and sauna and jacuzzi area and breakfast in the morning served with Buck's Fizz. The food was incredible and all the staff were extremely friendly! Defiantly value for money.

    « two night stay »

One night on my own for business the other prior to a football match. A quiet and easily got to hotel. the staff are good and helpful. The restaurant tries to be a bit fancy perhaps more basic may encourage more to attend. Serving the soup in a gel form then adding the hot liquid to melt the vegetable into the mix was nice but why? Room as themed with the local Leyland vehicle factory. Have stayed a few time and would stay again.

« Excellent Customer Service from Lesiure Staff - Gez »

Having been members of the Leisure Club at this hotel for many years, it is time to comment on the leisure facilities. Around this area there are other gyms with and without pools offering competitive membership deals and I have found that sometimes it is only the customer service that can set places apart - not just the facilities. I have experienced 'Gym etc' in Leyland and also the leisure club at the Best Western Hotel at Park Hall, Charnock Richard. They all differ slightly in their 'offer', their price and the facilities. A Staff member at the Leisure Club at this Hall Mark hotel in Leyland who stands out from the crowd is Gez. He is welcoming on arrival, helpful and friendly to hotel guests and loyal members alike. The cleanliness and management of all the facilities including changing rooms etc is high on his agenda. He has a firm yet friendly way of managing guests or members for everyone's safety and frequently checks the poolside and facilities for any problems which he rectifies immediately. It is this sort of customer service which Gez provides which keeps us loyal to this leisure club.

    « Fantastic relaxing weekend »

Recently visited for a relaxing weekend away our first since getting married, we couldn't of asked for anything better. It was the little touches that just made it that bit better, a member of staff had found out that we'd got married and this was our first weekend away so she had a wedding card put in our room with a bottle of bubbly. It was these little things that just made it that bit more personal. The facilities were exactly what we were after and the staff all were superb anything they could do they did plus more! We ate at the bar and in the restaurant both were exquisite and would recommend to anyone stopping to make use of the talented staff there! Already booking my return

    « Excellent barmaid. »

Went with my girlfriend about 2 weeks ago to stay overnight and have a few celebratory drinks for her birthday. Was served very efficiently by an excellent barmaid, I can't seem to remember her name but she had blonde hair. She was very bubbly and made me and my partner very welcome. As well as the bar/restaurant the bedroom was very nice, and we found the bed to be very comfortable. All in all I think I'd come again, and I suggest more staff like the barmaid!! An example to all in hospitality!

« Grand Hotel 5 minutes from the motorway »

Here on a business trip, travelling alone for a 1 night stay. Pretty impressive looking with an eye catching fire engine outside. The desk staff were very helpful and polite. the room was spacious with a king size bed. The restaurant is very well designed as a circle with interesting ceiling lights that give the impression of dining under starlight. The food was excellent, and the waiting time for this was minimal. The hotel is situated literally 5 minutes from the motorway but you cannot hear it from within the hotel. There is a large car park which holds at least 150 cars. All in all a very pleasant stay in a very comfortable hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

« Nice rooms & facilities, attention to detail not great. »

Room was good, location very convenient, staff nice & polite. Breakfast service slow, although it is mainly a buffet which includes the full English hot breakfast. Disappointingly no alternative to butter, which is quite poor in these days of health awareness. Many alternatives which are much lower cost, but no-one seems to think of this...

    « Great hotel! »

I had asked when I booked the hotel whether there could be a surprise for when we walked in as it was my boyfriend's birthday and when we walked in there were two small bottles of prosecco in ice and a card for him waiting! It was only something small but was a nice gesture. The pool is great, it's really nice hotel and great staff. Would really recommend staying here for a weekend break. Also close to Leyland train station and it's 5 minutes from Preston on the train.

    « Partners birthday »

Stayed one night as a treat for my partners birthday , we have stayed here before and really like this hotel . The staff had left a nice touch in the room , a card and 2 bottles of prosecco . Which was a really nice touch , we had breakfast in the morning which has a variety of choice , staff are really attentive . We used the pool and sauna and jacuzzi which is lovely clean and was peaceful . All in all it was a nice relaxing stay . Would recommend this hotel to couples , it's reasonably priced and close to the motorway . The bed in the executive suite was really comfy and there is plenty of space and storage in the room . I used the bath and shower both powerful, the hotel was quiet and there was a wedding on at the time but we still had a good nights sleep . We will be back again in the future

We stopped here to break up our journey while heading back home, and we were delighted with our choice. Very convenient to the M6, plenty of parking, very comfortable with well equipped rooms with all mod cons, the kids loved using the pool. « Great weekend break..... »

Stayed here over Easter weekend on a 2 night family break. Great hotel just off the Motorway. Lovely appointed room, very clean & nicely decorated. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice & great bar with small bar menu. Only grumble was noisy, drunk guests in room close by kept us up until 4am..... Apart from that would stay here again.

« Lovely wedding. Hot rooms. »

Friend had his wedding reception here, and many of us stayed the night too. The canapes were lovely, and service staff were great. Likewise with the food in the evening. The reception room was great, and had a recessed dancefloor with space for the DJ which was really nice. There was also a projector and screen which the best man used for some pictures in his speech. Drink prices were pretty good too. The rooms that many of us stayed in were downstairs and a lot of guest mentioned that they were incredibly hot. We left the window open all evening so didn't have a problem. Our room was good, had a nice TV and an iPod speaker dock/alarm clock. We also had some photos on the old fire engine out front.

« Exactly what you'd want and expect »

We stayed here for a friend's wedding and would say it is excellent value for money. The double room we had was nice and clean, shower excellent, and breakfast had a good range of options, even for an awkward vegetarian like me! We stayed for two nights to take advantage of the pool/steam room/jacuzzi, which is small but, again, clean and warm. We ate in the bar the second night and the food was good, price about what you'd expect for a hotel ie. dearer than your average meal but not over the top. I'd like to add that the staff, both for the wedding reception and during the following day, were incredibly courteous and couldn't do enough for us - despite some members of the party staying up well into the small hours!

    4
    « Nice place »

Warm and friendly. Nice decor and the room was spotless. Not much of a view but no traffic noise either. My only gripe is that the hot buffet breakfast was lukewarm- breakfast finished at 10am and we were there at 9.30, surely the hot plates shouldn't have been switched off so early? A hot breakfast would have secured full marks for this hotel.

« AN EXCELLENT WEDDING DAY EXPERIENCE »

My son and his new wife had their civil ceremony and wedding reception here last Saturday. The whole experience was absolutely wonderful, the room, the food, the staff everything. It was a wonderful day could not have been any better. The food was beautifully presented and served to the tables by very courteous and polite staff. And it tasted excellent nothing to fault at all. In particular the sweet was made even more special as the names of the bride and groom were written in chocolate on every plate what a lovely touch. ???? The room where the ceremony and reception were held was perfect. We stayed over. Our rooms were warm and clean and tidy. In the morning the breakfast was exceptional plenty of cereal and fruits and yoghurt. The hot food was really tasty and plentiful and nice and fresh. The staff were all very friendly, courteous and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. I cannot say enough good things. They made my son and daughter in laws day very special. THANKYOU TO YOU ALL AT THE LEYLAND HOTEL.

« Very good Best Western »

This is the first time I have stayed at this Best Western Hotel, The Check In was friendly and efficient, my room was on the lower Ground floor well away from reception, the corridor and room had reminders of the long since expired Leyland Car Company with photos and information displayed. The room was of a typical size for a relatively modern hotel and was furnished to a good standard, there was a Flat Screen TV, desk table and chairs for two people. There is a leisure center at the Hotel and it includes a good sized pool, NOTE. 1.45MT THROUGOUT. There was also a steam room Etc. The communal area of the Hotel, is open plan, Bar/Lounge and reception, and well layed out, when I was there there was a number of people eating in the lounge bar, however I found the menu a bit limited, so I chose to eat in the main restaurant which had a more extensive menu. The restaurant its self was a large almost cathedral looking room finished to a high standard and was complimented by professional staff who served customers properly, the meal I had was excellent.

    « A decent hotel »

This hotel is in a great location for business travellers, being a few minutes from the M6 junction. There is a decent car park and the reception staff on both check in and check out were friendly and helpful. The room (an upgraded one) was nicely furnished, if a little dated, but was surprisingly small. Wifi performance was also below average. The hotel has an eclectic mix of art and statuary around the place and is quite fun to explore. Breakfast was excellent too.

    « One night only! »

We stayed here overnight to break up our journey from Swindon to Scotland. Having stayed in many hotels over the years I can honestly say it is one of the best. The staff were very friendly, the room spotlessly clean with everything you could need. The hot buffet breakfast was great with plenty of choice. We chose to have our evening meal in the bar rather than the restaurant and it was perfect. I would highly recommend staying here and would stay here again.

« Everything excellent except guest room »

Upon arrival, I couldn't stop appreciating the prettiness of the property and the decor of the lobby. The lady at the reception was very kind and welcoming. Having received my room key, I had a quick glance at the restaurant and I was blown away by the beauty of the decor. All the beauty rose my expectation of the room. Sadly, the room was quite disappointing; it was small, dark, furniture looked tired, the duvet cover was torn and there was damp on the bathroom wall. I ordered food for room service; food was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was awesome too and staff were really nice. I am usually a fan of Best Western but this hotel's overall quality of guest room certainly lets it down for me, despite all other areas of excellence.

Only stayed one night but couldn't fault this hotel. Room was clean and comfy, reception quick and helpful, restaurant very good and food excellent. Really can't think of anything bad about the place. Would recommend anyone to stay here.

« Excellent hotel, let down by mould in room »

Most things at our stay were extremely positive for our overnight stay. At reception we were greeted with a warm welcome by Kelly and everything was explained about our stay. The hotel is in a great location just off the motorway. The hotel bar and dining room and the leisure area are all decorated to a wonderful standard. The 3 course meal was excellent and the service was superb too. Great breakfast choice too. However the big let down was all the mould on the ceiling in our room and the bathroom. It was totally unacceptable really and doesn't take much to sort. This score would have been a 5 if not for this. All the staff are delightful, but please sort your rooms not great for us asthmatics.

    « Amazing Value »

Currently staying here on a 3 night break and we are loving it. The hotel is just brilliant, from the moment we arrived the staff have been so attentive and friendly. The hotel is well located near Blackpool, Liverpool, Manchester and the Lake District, so it makes a great base. We had dinner in the restaurant on our second night which was part of the hotel deal and the food was super plus they couldn't do enough for the children. The have even been given a free drinks wristband which is excellent value. This morning we went to the pool which is so clean and a great size for a swim and a play with the kids. I really couldn't recommended this hotel enough. Our children said it's the best hotel they've ever stayed in and that's before the Easter Egg hunt in the morning.

    « 1 night stay for Wedding »

Stayed one night for a wedding at the Leyland Hotel. Holly on reception was very helpful and changed our room allocation so we could have our room early before the wedding. We had a family room which consisted of a king size bed, a sofa bed and travel cot. The bathroom had a bath but it was very snug especially for a family of four. There were nice touches such as robes and slippers, Lancashire biscuits (very yummy) and free wifi. Bed was comfy, only issue was our room 110 was next to the entry/exit door for the floor so you heard other guests coming up and down the stairs. 1st floor is actually down stairs (didn't find a lift but there might be one) this meant getting pram to the room a bit more difficult. The 1st floor was the Leyland History themed with minis which gave the room a nice theme. Breakfast in the morning was fine. Personally I prefer breakfast to be made for you instead of food under hot plates but I'm not a fan of a cooked breakfast so didn't bother me. Friendly staff at breakfast.

    « 1 night business stay »

Stayed for 1 night while on business locally. Pleasant staff on reception, good selection of drinks at the bar, main reception well decorated. Rooms are ok, bit tired and could do with a refresh, no lift for 1 st floor rooms. Breakfast good with plenty of selection. Located well for motorways and within walking distance to Leyland town centre. Would stay again for business.

    « Excellent Hotel »

Stayed for 1 night with a group of 35 last Saturday. Reception team friendly and helpful on arrival. Bedrooms were lovely, spacious, well fitted out, clean and very comfortable. Restaurant was very busy both dinner and breakfast but the staff did a fantastic job all with smiles on their faces. The food was excellent both dinner and breakfast. An enjoyable 1 night stay and will definitely return. I can't understand the negative comments as all our group commented on how good it was.

    « Great staff »

Wasn't expecting too much from our stay . Noticed it had good reviews on here my our experience went far beyond what we both anticipated . Was a weekend getaway for my wife's birthday and right away the staff were superb . They couldn't do enough for us and were also very down to earth . The bar and restaurant were very nice . We only had bar food but the minted lamb baguette for a tenner was well worth it . Overall , I can't praise this hotel enough .

    « Too many bookings »

We went as a large group of about 80. They also had another large booking in and a wedding. They were clearly too stretched. The food on the first night was cold, breakfast was absolutely shambles everyone was taking butter and tea and stuff from other tables as there wasn't enough staff so you would ask for things and they would just dissappear never to be seen again. There wasn't even enough room for everyone so people had to sit in the bar. They even ran out of butter for toast. The second night was better and the food was actually warm. The manager came across as rude and sarcastic until the second night. It was obvious that she had been under a lot of stress. The hotel however was brilliant. Lovely rooms and decor and the spa and gym was great

« Short spa and stay »

We found an excellent deal through groupon, which included, chocolates in the room, a free drink per person on arrival, 1 night stay for two, continental breakfast and use of of leisure facilities (Jacuzzi, steam room, swimming pool and sauna). The check in and out experience was very easy and fast, we were greeted by a polite and friendly reception staff who gave us a brief overview of our stay and gave all necesary info. On our arrival to our room we have found a facility that was clean and tidy with all basic toiletries provided by a hotel free of charge including complementary robes. In our room was also a tv and a mini sound system which included an aux input, Apple port, CD player etc. They are happy to give you a DVD player and movie for a returnable deposit of £10! The next morning the breakfast was in the four seasons restaurant and was standard. Service was good also and a good selection presented. After breakfast we sat by the main Inge and read a free selection of magazines/newspapers before going for a spa. The leisure facilities are open from quite early and close around 8pm. The pool is a 12.5m and it was pretty quiet. The Jacuzzi was fully functional and we were the only ones in it. The steam room and sauna were also clean plus quiet. All in all small but functional. We had a late check out which we took advantage of. Got to say it was very quiet through the night and the bed was very comfy! All in all a nice stay for a good price. There are many conferencing and event rooms here too! Plus much to do in the area too. We may be back in the future! Yours truly, Jackson and Jackson!

    « 3 1/2 Star Quirky Hotel »

Came here for 1 night off the back of 3 nights in a decent 4 star hotel. Location is fantastic right by Junction 28 of M6 with plenty of parking. The entrance is of a 4 star hotel, walk into reception and its Spanish tourist hotel meets the world of Italian ego..busts of Caesar and all function rooms Italian themed...all in a 1980's brown colour scheme environment. The bedroom was the same..recognised the bathroom door from B&Q in the 90's !! Bedroom was fine, lighting made it intimate..bed comfortable and slept well. Didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening, but the menu reflected a proper 4 star theme. Breakfast in the morning was good, tasted fresh and they even brought over the toast..To add to the quirkiness they even had an exhibition of the works of local artists. This hotel has leisure facilities, which looked pretty new. Overall it's ok and its location makes it a hotel to look at for a one night stay if the price is right, which it was for me. But beyond that it's not my idea of the type of hotel that I would stay in for longer. Nothing wrong with it, maybe it's me that's quirky...

    « Birthday break »

Stayed here for 2 nights recently with my family as part of my birthday treat. For the price this hotel was definately value for money. Room was a bit small but clean and tidy. The leisure facilities were small but we'll looked after and fit for purpose. Our baby daughter loved the pool. The cooked breakfast on the first morning was luke warm but as we had gone for breakfast early thought that this was why. The breakfast on the 2nd morning was much better. Would definately stay here again. Lovely clean hotel.

I use this hotel for work ... The staff are great and especially on reception . The rooms are very nice and clean ... The beds are comfortable . The only issue is the limited room service menu ... As I travel alone I prefer to eat in my room and the menu is not great

« Cold shower. Poor service. Weird decor. »

Being in this hotel is like being trapped in a 1980's Italian time warp. It's time for a refurb! My classic double room was tiny. So small that the bed almost touched both side walls. There was a single wardrobe and nowhere to unfold the suitcase support (so why have it?) The food at dinner was excellent although the restaurant was unacceptably cold both in the evening and again at the poor quality buffet breakfast. Water in the shower in the morning was almost cold. I never stay at a hotel which gives me a cold shower, twice. Overall it's a bit naff.

« Excellent value and fabulous food »

we visited this hotel as a stop over night whilst travelling. We received an excellent welcome and our room was perfect for a short stop over, it was comfortable, clean and relaxing and had all of the bits we could have needed during our stay. The bar staff were friendly and efficient as were the restaurant staff and all were very young - it was lovely to see staff having such pride in their work. The evening meal we enjoyed was of superb quality, and there was plenty of it. The buffet breakfast was hot and there was plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend this hotel for an evening stop over.

    « Fantastic venue »

I use this hotel on a regular basis to facilitate overnight weekend group training for a large further education establishment . This is a truly wonderful venue , every member of staff is a credit to hotel chain . Nothing is ever too much trouble , the rooms are ideal and the food and service is five star quality . Thanks again , look forward to returning in April.

« Good but let down by breakfast offering »

The dreaded Bain Marie breakfast once again delivered a poor result. Food that sits for hours deteriorates and the longer it remains the worse the food becomes. When such a huge pile of food greets you you know the system adopted is to dump mounds of food on a counter and then leave it for the hapless guest to tuck into. Regretfully the quality from the outset means you get pale, flacid sausages and hardened dried out bacon. Worse still the scrambled egg was like a yellow egg-flavoured jelly. This catering powdered egg dish really isn't scrambled egg... to me this shows that the hotel don't really care about serving a quality breakfast. What a shame since other than this the hotel was fine albeit a bit tired and in need of a bit if a lift.

« Good quiet location next motorway junction to Preston »

Obviously much loved by corporates for convenient quiet location with excellent leisure centre. Bar prices seemed high, possibly because most visitors are on expenses. Breakfast is excellent and carries you through the day but restaurant specials limited and vegetarians would struggle. For a four star thought standard rooms a little small but perhaps Leyland wing a bit more special for extra cost.

    « Exceeded our expectations »

We were particularly impressed by the standard of food served in the restaurant, both dinner and breakfast. All meals were served efficiently by extremely polite and friendly, staff, who went out of their way to make our daughter feel welcome, particularly at the special Valentine's dinner, where we were the only table for 3! (We hadn't realised when we booked, via Secret Escapes, that the Saturday dinner was a special Valentine's event.) The food was delicious and beautifully presented and a cut above that normally served in hotels. There was a wedding on on the Saturday, but this did not impact at all on the service we received, as is often the case. The pool area was pleasant and the room was clean, warm and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Just to say a massive thank you to Fergus and the staff for pulling off an amazing event for us at the hotel. The function rooms are fantastic, the bedrooms are comfortable and beautifully decorated. The food is outstanding with a good selection of wines and beer also. The staff will do as much as they can and helped us to pull off a fantastic weekend for our people. I would definitely recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. Thanks to Fergus, Faye, Miles, The Duty Manager who's name escapes me and the young man who laid the dance floor down. All excellent.

    « Great value »

We stayed here after a wedding in July. The hotel was reasonably modern, clean and in a good location. The pool area was nice and clean, changing rooms a little dated but adequate. Breakfast was great- couldn't fault. Overall the hotel was good value for money and we'd stay again.

« wat can i say this is a fab place to stay! »

words couldn't describe how happy I was to stay here. I stayed for 2 nights and the staff just couldn't do enough for us. The staff do room service and the bar is open even in the early hours which was great for the wedding we attended:) The hotel room itself was spotless. you couldn't fault a single thing. I would definitely be staying again that's for sure

« Convenient for motorway travellers »

My wife and I sent two nights here in February as we were visiting the local area. It is extremely conveniently located, almost right next to the M6, so is really easy to find. It has plenty of parking and the place overall appears to be well run, with friendly helpful staff. We only had breakfast there which we had prepaid for in our advance booking so cannot comment on any other meals offered there, but the breakfasts offered were very well run with the widest possible choice of fruit, cereals, cold cuts as well as the full English, all very politely served by well trained staff. We found the hotel to be of a very good quality and it suited us as we needed good easy access to the motorway. If you need somewhere to stay in that area, it is well worth it.

    « Lots of Character »

We booked here as we were working in the area. What a gem !!! Very reasonable price and the room was lovely with lots of character. The bed was really comfy and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. During the day, the reception and bar area was very busy which is usually a good sign. We would definitely recommend the hotel.

« Agreeable Stay with Room for Improvement »

Arrived early evening to a very crowded car park where all the disabled parking spaces were occupied but not a sign of a parking disc in any of the cars. We have one which we would have used if space was available. Not a reflection on the hotel but the attitudes of the car owners. Reception was adequate but no more. The receptionist was multi tasking, so our welcome was restricted to checking our details. Didn't raise the parking issue as couldn't imagine it would lead anywhere. Allocated room was on the first floor; no lift & our room was cold as the radiator was turned off. Given it is the end of January and one of the colder days we had recently experienced, that was not ideal. Didn't fancy standard dining at fine dining prices so ate out. Other niggling observations during our 2 night stay were that the toilet seat was poorly fitted and loose, there was no means of securing the window blind in the down position and given the glare from the carpark lights might disturb some people, that could have been an issue. Pulling the curtains completely over the window completely covers the radiator! The free internet connection was not the pleasure it could have been as the connection was poor. There was plenty of hot water, though the bathroom was cramped and basic. I was interested in the corporate card extolling the virtues of managing our stay by not putting our towels out unles we required the changing. We were prepared to conform with that for our stay and hung them up to indicate so, only to return and find they had been exchanged. Why bother? Breakfast was part of our room deal and that was an excellent experience both in terms of the meal and the service. I would add some balance to this review. I used to live locally but never had cause to stay at the hotel during that period but had attended functions there. This was more than 10 years ago and my recollections are that not much has changed in the public areas and the nature of the business the hotel relies on. They have a number of function rooms and there were a few parties in full flow when we arrived, hence our parking issue. We stayed in our room for some of the full day that we were there and was surprised to experience the room heating being turned of. We did ask at reception if this was normal and were informed that action would be taken to restore it; it wasn't. I am content to forgive all of the preceeding observations providing they are appreciated in the manner in which they are raised and acton is taken to investigate them and take action where necessary. I did list the room faults on the maintenance card provided in the room. This was a true reflection of the phrase " you only get what you pay for", as I did pay a reduced rate this time. I would consider staying in the future, when I return to visit family but not at "any" price. The hotel does enjoy local support and from comments previously made, expense account guests but surely it is overdue a major refurbishment as the decor is tired and unfashionable.

    « Conference at Leyland »

We held a two day supplier conference at the Best Western in late January - a dinner on the evening of arrival, followed by the main conference the following day. Food was excellent, coffees & teas in plentiful supply, , facilities first class and staff highly professional and helpful. Rooms were also comfortable, so overall an enjoyable experience. I can recommend as either a location for a conference or as a hotel break.

« Very typical Best Western Premier »

I was staying for business on this occasion and fancied chancing my arm with a Best Western Premier.I want it to be clear from the outset that I quite like the chain but have reservations staying there nowadays. The Best Western hotels are very similar in the respect of they are comfortable and usually well equipped. The only issue with this is that they also appear like hotels from a past generation. This one was no exception. With decor which was a bit old and worn from the furniture in the room to the carpet around the hotel. The staff were friendly and professional as expected from Best Western and the food was actually very good. There was just something a bit amiss about the atmosphere on this occasion. My only gripe with level of service was during breakfast in the morning when I was offered to sit on a table which had clearly just been left by another customer. Usually there isn't a problem with this as they tidy up in front of you but when 90% of the breakfast area was empty with tables that were prepared I found this a bit odd. Overall, the hotel is exactly like the rest of the Best Western portfolio and I do not mean for that to sound as a discredit. I would rather be able to give a 3.5 out of 5 but it will not allow me to and I, unfortunately, cannot award a 4. With a bit of care and updating in this hotel it could easily get into the 4 or 5 rating region. I recommend this hotel for a quick stay but I couldn't recommend it for a weekend away for example.

    « Work Christmas Do...in January!!! »

This hotel was chosen as the venue for our Area Do in January! A great location which was convenient for everyone due to the great motorway links! The staff were fabulous and the room looked beautiful. The dinner was a three course meal with four choices for each course....the food was promptly served and was of good quality! With many to cater for you expect the food to be cold and unappealing but this was not the case! The staff were on hand to provide extra gravy and sauces as soon as the meals were served! All the staff were polite and attentive...and this was from start to finish! A very enjoyable evening in lovely surroundings!!

« Expensive Food for Business stay »

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and the only thing that stops me staying more frequently whilst on business trips is the high cost of food in the restaurant where a steak is £22+ and more basic meals are around £16+

    4
    « A convenient location off the m6 »

It is situated just off the m6. Parking is plentiful. The hotel itself is comfortable. The room was large and spacious. There was a good choice of breakfast and the meals were delicious. I would say give the orange tart with white choclate a miss. I'm sure it's not made from scratch it's been refrigerated, with it leaving a unpleasant texture and literally no white chocolate. Would stay again and the service was excellent.

    « Very Good Stay »

Stayed at the Leyland Hotel just after Christmas. Paid less than £50 for a single room plus breakfast but was given an upgrade to a double room without having to ask... which was nice. The bedroom was attractive and comfortable. Given a selection of teas, coffees and biscuits too. The bathroom was fine and I was given the usual assortment of shampoos etc. Good breakfast in the attractive restaurant with a choice of buffet continental or cooked breakfast. In fact I can't really think of anything negative that comes mind. To summarise, the Leyland Hotel is a good choice if you want to stay a few nights in the Preston area for a competitive price.

    « Outstanding New Year's eve stay. »

This was our 3rd New Year's eve stay at this Hotel and we would all say the best ever. We were a party of 5 & we were able to check in at 12 noon, which meant we were able to use the lovely leisure facilities & then take our time to relax, before getting ready for the long evening ahead. The planning & organisation of this event is 'outstanding', from the moment we arrived in the lounge for kir royale & whisky cocktails & canapes, through to an amazing 6 course Gala Dinner (with a couple of lovely changes from last years menu). The dj with his text requests & messages on screen, was great fun & he played good music & there was plenty of dancing. The attention to detail with the food, drinks, table decorations, music, piper, in fact everything, was absolutely amazing. Breakfast was from 10am to 12.00 and is buffet style & with a late checkout at 1pm, we were able to take our time & enjoy, even leaving with complimentary Iron Bru or water. Again we have to say a massive thank you to the General Manager- Fergus Macdonald & his staff for a truly fantastic New Years Eve, you all worked extremely hard to make it such a memorable night. We will definitely be back next year.

    « New Years Eve »

As a chef for some 35 years. I decided to take a break this new year from working. My wife and I decided on the Feathers in Preston. The whole experience was above Outstanding. It is my Wedding Anniversary very soon and we informed the hotel of this, we were treated as if we were the only guests there. We had an amazing 2 days at this wonderful hotel. The staff were all Outstanding and this I can honestly say was driven by the manager, smart, polite, courteous, just exceptional for an event this size. Attention to detail was also Outstanding. Now to the food, It was so flavorsome, hot, presented beautifully, faultless, the flow of the evening was so slick, we never waited for anything. Once again a great big thank you from us both. I'm a coach driver and my party was booked in here over xmas from 23rd to 27th dec 2015, the hotel was decorated outside with welcoming signs for our coach party. although many of the staff were young they were absolutely brilliant with my older guests and couldn't do enough to assist. the food was all you could wish for and more. the only complaint I heard was that the place was too warm so that's not a bad thing. unexpected but most welcome, on our departure all my guests were supplied with a little travel bag containing a bottle of water and food. many thanks to all the staff here who helped make our xmas break one to remember.

    « Fantastic Hotel, What A Gem! »

Present from my son, one night stay 27th Dec, 2015. On check in we were greeted by such a friendly lady who informed us we had been given a free upgrade to the History of Leyland Wing. What a lovely surprise, hubby was made up as he loves his mini cooper and the room was themed with the British Leyland Mini!! The room was cosy and warm, fully stocked tea/coffee and biscuits tray and bed was so comfy! Complemtary bathrobe and slippers and free use of the pool, jacuzzi, again such a friendly lady on the reception. The bar area was lovely. Plush surroundings and comfy chairs, had a lovely tea in the bar, food was nice and prices reasonable. They had a giant chair, great for a laugh, kids would love it. Myles, the bartender was so friendly and chatty. We had breakfast included which was served in the restaurant which was stunning. The food was delicious. Could not fault the hotel in any way, clean and plush and staff so friendly, we would definitely recommend it and hopefully we will get the opportunity to stay again, 10/10!

    « Christmas Lunch »

Fabulous lunch, excellent service, well worth the money, will definitely be booking again for next year. The only slight criticism was no one took away any empty glasses so by the end of the meal there wasn't much space left on the table. But not to worry, we all had a super time!!

    « A pleasant surprise. »

We stayed for one night on Dec 19th, The hotel is literally a stone's throw from junction 28 on the M6, and about half a mile from the town centre. The hotel was set up for several Xmas parties, which didn't really bother us as is expected this time of year. Check in was quick and painless, and was given a room close to reception. The room was very clean and pleasant, and we had a great night's sleep despite being close to the parties, Breakfast was buffet style and well organised, and the food was delicious. This hotel is brilliant value for money, the staff are mostly very young and polite, always a bonus when there are no grouches. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Staff very friendly and pleasant! My friend was staying the night and we met in her room. Room nice and clean and spacious! Nice deco! Had a fantastic night! Highly recommend!

    « WEEKEND BREAK »

Asked for a quiet room and it certainly was. On both nights of our stay there were Christmas parties but no noise was heard in our bedroom. It was a lovely, relaxing weekend and the staff were very attentive and helpful. The spa was very welcoming and surprisingly not very busy. The only downside to the weekend was that the evening menu was very expensive, both in the restaurant and the bar.

    « 1 night business stay »

Stayed for one night on business. Arrived early evening, to a incredibly busy reception - Christmas party in progress. Expected a terrible noisy night, but was allocated a room furthest away from party, and heard no noise at all apart from one party-goer group returning to their rooms. Bed/bedding very comfortable. Excellent night's sleep. Room service reasonably quick despite the party, and food good.

    « Themed Hotel »

Great access to the Hotel from the motorway, lots of parking although almost full. Did not eat dinner or Breakfast so cannot comment on the food, but service and rooms were all good. Staff friendly on arrival in check in and check out! Room comfortable and themed with the obvious connection of transport! Mine was a racing Mini Cooper. There are photos and memorabilia all over and they have done very well. The Leyland Fire Engine outside was a really impressive feature. The theme works well without what would be a fairly ordinary hotel.

    « Best Western Leyland »

Good standard of interior decor in hotel, rooms well furnished, a little above the usual Best Western standard. Lobby + bar a bit lacking in atmosphere. Staff all quite young but very polite, helpful and efficient. Restaurant was ok but not a bargain. £24 rib eye steak was pretty average, not much better than you'd expect to get in a decent pub for £16. Colleague had sea bass 'catch of the day' and the portion was pretty small. Restaurant lacked atmosphere, a bit empty and a bit chilly. Overall a relaxing stay though at the top end of my usual budget. It is very handy for Motorway travel and was very quiet considering its proximity to main roads. Health club and spa available but no time to test it.

« Nice hotel convenient location »

Stayed here on a visit to the Leyland Trucks factory, staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean and tidy, the hotel in general was a bit on the warm side throughout the stay. I used the pool and leisure facilities which were of the required standard.

In the morning for breakfast ordered tea pot turned up with no milk waited had to go looking for the milk ordered toast 3 times before i got it. nice hotel the staffing is really not up to any standard i must have stopped on a bad day. I am not a complainer but i really feel that i have to on this time.

    « Great hotel »

Me and my family have stayed in this hotel numerous times .. And in fact always check to see if this is available every time we travel to Preston. From the very first visit and every visit since the quality of our stay has not changed. The hotel is very beautiful and modern. The decor is amazing. It has an indoor pool which supplied towels. The staff are so helpful .. They are willing to go above and beyond their job description. During one of our stays we was waiting in reception to check out and one of the members of staff asked if we were OK .. We said yes fine and that we was about to travel back down south with the children .. She asked us to wait there - a few minutes later she came back with some bags in her hands passed them to the children ... Inside were activity packs with crayons to keep them busy on the journey - some little snacks and a drink. This was a lovely gesture and nothing we had experienced anywhere before. I would always recommend this hotel to anyone who was travelling to Preston or the surrounding area. Ideally located just off the M6 and very convenient to get to ..

    « Small room »

We were first given a double room (even though I'd booked a twin) and the room was small. We were then given a twin room and that was just as small, so I guess all rooms are small. Bathroom very small too. Hotel was convenient for what we needed it for arriving late and leaving early the next day. There was a wedding reception disco but this didn't interfere with out stay. I wouldn't really expect to stay at this hotel again and don't think it was value for money at all.

    « Another lovely stay »

We try to stay at this hotel two or three times a year as it close to friends who have moved up north from our home town in north wales, and its position just off the M6 makes it a handy meeting place. We have always enjoyed our stays here and find the staff friendly and helpful and the hotel is always spotlessly clean. The hotel has a decent size pool and, small sauna steam room, and a lovely big hot tub.THEreason I am not giving this review a 5 star rating is I do feel now after many years of coming here the mattresses in some of the rooms have reached there use by date.We asked to be moved from our first room because when we sat on the bed we could feel the bed base under us,this was done with good grace by the young lady who was on reception duty that day,but I must say the second bed was not much better, anyway this did not affect our stay and we had a lovely time overall, and a great night out with our friends and look forward to coming back soon.

« Best hotel in the area? »

This hotel is situated very close to the motorway on the edge of the small town of Leyland in Lancashire. We booked last minute at got a good reduction on the normal price for a Friday and Saturday night short break. Check-in and check-out was friendly, quick and efficient - no problems inspite of the fact that the hotel was busy with wedding parties. The bedrooms are situated well away from the function rooms and we heard no noise from the partying on either night. The standard rooms were everything you would expect from a good 4* hotel, including fluffy dressing gowns and slippers, a good hospitality tray, free wifi, toiletries etc. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice available. The dining room decor itself is a bit dated, but that did not matter as it is clean and comfortable. Large lounge and bar area in the lobby seemed quiet. Complementary newspapers available at breakfast. We did not have an evening meal at the hotel. We went to Liverpool for the day by train from nearby Leyland Station on the Saturday. This was an excellent day out and a good way to visit the city. The hotel residents have free use of the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. We found these to be clean and well maintained. Towels, lockers and changing rooms available. Locals use these facilities at a cost.

    « really good hotel »

We stayed here last week while in the UK for family funeral. Myself, fiance and three year old stayed in room 219. it was a nice room, comfy, plenty of floor space, clean. extra tea, milk etc left in room for us. the only problem we had were: the bathroom is quite small, fine if you dont have children but if your child wants to play in the bath fand you have to keep the door open because it gets so hot , it completley blocks the side of the bath so you have to sit on the toilet to take the child out. small thing but it was a bit of a pain when she had to have a bath every day we were there. the shower is really nice, really hot, good pressure pool was great, but noone wore swimming hats which bothered me, i know its a leisure pool but there was some hair floating around in the pool where we were playing which was a bit gross. even just for hygiene reasons getting people to wear hats would be great. when we went to the bar during the day we had to walk back down to reception to get them to call someone and then back up to the bar where at one point we had to wait 15 mins, another time we had to go back down to reception a second time and the man on reception came up to serve us instead. really only little things that we had a problem with and to be honest we were so exhausted from travelling that we didnt say anything when we were there because we couldnt be bothered. staff were really friendly, i wish i had asked their names now but there was a man on reception who seemed to be there all day every day, and a girl in the restaurant, same, yall girl, with long brown/red pony tail, was there for dinner monday night and breakfast tuesday morning, both really stood out, helpful and realy nice with our daughter, just being chatty with her. the food in the hotel was also delicious. we also had room service which again was delicious. some f the reviews had put me off the hotel so i wasnt expecting much but i was pleasantly surprised ad would definetly stay again

    « Best Western Leyland »

The quality of the catering was of a very high standard. The dinner menu was well varied and extremely expertly cooked. There is a tendency to err towards the worst aspects of the discredited nouvelle cuisine. The local cheese selection is outstanding. The excellent breakfast selection is spoilt by a lack of fresh fruit; tinned fruit is not a suitable alternative. The restaurant service is well below standard. The staff present themselves well, seem keen and are almost certainly of a quality able to excel. They are disorganised, lacking in direction, uncoordinated and do not act as an effective team. The serving staff seem to have been well trained in the basic individual skills but do not act together. This leads to a breakdown in service and a truculent attitude from some when presented with even minor surges in demand. Towards the end of my stay the appalling piped music was either turned off or reduced in volume to an acceptable, non-intrusive murmur. This is a place that could be excellent with very little effort. I would suggest starting by listening to the staff themselves.

A lovely hotel. Warm and friendly welcome upon arrival, the room are clean and a very comfortable bed.there is a pool for those who like to have a swim although the sauna was out of action. The dining experience is of a first class experience. A must if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Leyland or passing though and looking for good accommodation.

« Ok Hotel apart from service »

Stayed one night at this hotel as a stop off going up to Scotland. Check-in was slow, room clean although small, breakfast service was poor no good morning, no asking for room number or name, items run out on the buffet, no asking if we would like toast. Used leisure, sauna and steam room had broken but the pool and spa good. Check-out slow again just one person so had to queue for at least 10 minutes. We had coffee before heading up the road and again we had to wait to be served with no guests in lounge. I am not sure why this is a 4 star Best Western Premier hotel as there are better regular BW hotels? Maybe because of the Roman statues and over-side chair in the lobby?!!!

« Lovely weekend and Proposal! »

My Fiance and I stayed here for 2 nights back in June this year. The hotel was spotless and we had a lovely spacious bedroom with a fantastic kingsize bed. I had booked a bottle of prosecco to be in our room on arrival, this wasn't the case but was quickly resolved after speaking to reception who dealt with the situation quickly and very politely. We dined in on our first evening, the food was lovely and came out quite quickly even though there was a party night on in the function room. Fabulous. Our second day we went to use the pool which was spotless and loved the hot tub too. very relaxing. We then went out for a meal where my partner proposed and we came back to the hotel for a few drinks in the bar. Great service! Overall a fantastic stay! would recommend to anyone. Thank you :)

    « Learnt a lot about Leyland's history »

The first you see is a Fire Engine. It's not needed for a fire, but is in a glass showcase and quite naturally is an old Leyland vehicle. This is the beginning of an historical journey, well supported by many photographs, of Leyland's association with the motor industry. Even the cushions on the bed were adorned with Mini Cooper pictures as indeed was the wall behind the bed which depicted a scene from a Monte Carlo rally. I found this very interesting and informative. The bed I found to be very comfortable and one of the best I've slept in at any hotel. The only disappointment was the breakfast. It was late starting and then produced a varying standard of breakfast items. I have never seen such a yellow substance that was supposed to be scrambled egg, most unappetising. And then cold beans. I was overjoyed when at last fried eggs appeared at the hotplate. All the frontline staff were very helpful in every aspect.

« Poor Customer Relations from Management »

Stayed at this hotel for the week-end to celebrate the wedding of our niece, we were a party of four. A member from our party had to depart the hotel at 6.00am we therefore requested the possibility of having a "take-away" breakfast prepared for this time. We were pleased to be told this was not a problem. Unfortunately the next morning the breakfast was not ready and asked to wait twenty minutes for it's preparation. It was not possible to wait so our friend had to leave without the breakfast. I later wrote to the General Manager to obtain an explanation n and an apology, sadly to this date I have not received the courtesy of a reply. It is a pity or stay at the Leyland Hotel w as marred by our experience with the Management of the hotel, since all staff we dealt with were helpful and very friendly I have to say that the food we had during our stay was of very good quality and was very tasty.

    « Good functional hotel »

Not a bad place, very functional. Rooms a little small for the price but clean and comfortable. Good location. Loving the decor and the history, the exec room that I stayed in had the iconic mini pictured on the wall, with the history of Leyland.

    « Great place for a stopover! »

As we arrived in the car park, we noticed a large coach disgorging its contents of passengers into reception and my heart sank thinking we might have to queue for ages to check in! Totally wrong! The receptionist was so efficient she'd cleared any queue and we were booked in quickly and efficiently and with a smile! We were also upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. In the evening the hotel was running a wedding, a birthday party plus entertaining two coach parties but this didn't impact on the totally superb service from both the very pleasant barman and equally delightful young man who booked us into and served us in the restaurant. The room and bed were really comfy and the breakfast excellent. We stayed here a few years ago and the service was quite slow even though the staff were lovely. The staff are still great but the service has improved vastly. All in all our stay was faultless and we would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

    « Very comfortable hotel »

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for work and it was very comfortable. Room was spacious WiFi was fast enough in the room Pool and jacuzzi were only open on the last day but it was worth going as I had a relaxing swim. One of the highlights of the stay was the food in the restaurant. The dining room was impressive in terms of decoration. As a group we tried most of the meals on the menu. The best main courses were the duck and the lamb and the duck was the most ferocious I have ever tasted. Breakfast was also very good. Hotel staff were all very polite. I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.
