    « Huge room »

The room we got was very big which was nice as we had to do a lot of packing. The ladies in the front desk are really nice and service minded. It is a clean and nice facility with spacious halls. There is an outside pool and a restaurant across the street. We did not try the breakfast. Free coffee and cookies in the lobby. This place is up there with other best westerns in this price range and I can easily recommend staying here!

« Very nice updates, to a good Hotel »

I have stayed here quite a few times over the years. I have not been here for over a year and I was pleased to see all the refreshing updates. New paint and siding on the outside, a red carpet entry, lobby all updated, new furniture. The rooms are large and open. Beds are comfortable, lots of pillows. Bathrooms are big, lots of towels. Windows are large...with full opening sliders. Very few hotels have windows that open. I enjoyed the fresh air! WiFi internet was very fast at 2500 mbps. Thank you Best West. Breakfast was full on good. Lots of choice, hot and cold. Very well presented and clean. Staff is friendly and quick. Love this place and encourage everyone to try it.

    « Comfortable and Clean »

These BW Plus motels are becoming our preference. The rooms are spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and professional. The breakfast is a typical hotel meal but this hotel actually had silverware, plastic bowls and cups. The eating area is roomy and clean. I recommend this hotel to all.

    « Spacious Rooms »

Booked online looking for a decently priced hotel close to North Cascades National Park. Great for what we needed. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby, friendly staff and great breakfast. Rooms were large and clean. Only about an hour drive to both North Cascades and the Canadian border. Would stay again!

« Convenience with Excellent Service »

This is an ideal location from which to also visit Anacortes, La Conner and North Cascades National Park. The front desk personnel were exceptionally helpful, and the room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served in the Conference Center on premises; it included a nice variety of options, and the staff working that area was quick to offer friendly service, including bottles of water for the road. The location is just off of a main road, Riverside Drive, on the north end of Mount Vernon by the Skagit River; across the bridge is the city of Burlington, where that same main road is called Burlington Boulevard. Within easy walking distance are a health club to which guests have access, restaurants and Wal-Mart.

    « No Pets »

The concierge was shocked that we asked about pets. The back up person came in and said there would be a $150. charge if we brought in a pet. The reaction was close to aggressive. The motel had been pet friendly for years. That is the last time we darken their door.

    « Nice Hotel »

Booked on line. The room was very spacious, clean, well kept. Beds are very comfy. Close to the highway, but noise was not an issue. Staff was very good. Breakfast was very good. Attached restaurant and bar is pretty good. Would stay here again.

« Trek to the West »

Total experience from the phone call to reserve in advance to check-in & check-out was very positive. The person at the desk when we arrived was very helpful. The room was one of the nicer Best Westerns on our stay, large with everything you could possibly want. A nice restaurant, we gathered just recently opened, was just a walk across the parking lot. The hot buffet was quality.

« Good for what was needed »

We were on our way home when we decided to stay at this hotel. It was simply just for a stop in our drive and sleep overnight. We didn't utilize any of their facilities. The room was clean, as expected. It did have a musky/old smell (especially when stepping in from the hallway) but otherwise it was a fine king room with sofa and TV. Interesting that they had two sinks outside of the bathroom - one just outside and the other in the main part of the room where the bed is. Our room also came with a fridge. TV channel selection was great too. Didn't try WiFi so cannot comment. The breakfast was good as expected. A good selection including the usuals. The staff was friendly. It was a pleasant stay when all we needed was a bed to sleep in overnight.

    « Beautiful Washington »

We arrived for a funeral and having never stayed in Mount Vernon before I wasn't sure where to book. Skagit Valley Inn was the perfect location for all the places we had to be. It is centrally located to the old town, the freeway and shopping. The rooms were kept clean, the lobby beautiful and the staff very gracious and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

    « Always good! »

I have stayed at this hotel several times and I always thoroughly enjoy it. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The hot breakfast buffet is delilcious!

    « pleasure trip »

I have stayed at this hotel for over 20 years. It recently sold and am noticing changes of improvement. I also notice that the breakfast is now displayed better than in the past and the staff was on top of everything.

    « Okay. »

Staff was friendly, but room was a little musty. Fitbit tells me I had one of the best night's sleep in a long time.. the mattress was quite comfortable. Proximity to Dairy Queen was a treat. I was anticipating more updated rooms when I booked, but a good location and value.

    « Great one night »

Stayed her for nearby at farms ten mins away. Very nice.and.friendly. they are currently painting exterior. Swam in outside pool Not chlorine treated..that was nice. Everyone slept good. Breakfast.usual best western breakfast. Not.sure if extea.extra extea peppered potatoes are washintong.thing as.they.had not as.peppered potatoes at weddinf.too. these.ones a lil.too.spicy for.whole.fam. and.helpful.

    « Just a night stay »

We only stayed one night. We were very happy with our accommodations. We were able to check in early and the room we had was very clean and nice. The room was larger than we expected and the breakfast the next morning had a lot of variety from cereal to oatmeal to scrambled eggs.

    « ok for 1 night »

My son noted that the carpet in our room smelled pee like. I think it could have been from water dripping off the sinks onto the carpet in by the bed. Breakfast was ample and satisfying. Staff were friendly and helpful. A/C a bit loud but i find this is the norm in most of these type of hotels.

    « Clean and tidy! »

The hotel and staff present well. The comfort of the rooms and beds are good. The breakfast offers a variety of items and very good!!! The staff are very accommodating and complete their tasks at a brisk pace but still make time to assist families and individuals. I felt the price was overpriced for the location and time of year but because we were in a bind and it was late at night this was the best we could do.

    « What a Find!! »

We were just looking for a clean room to lay our heads for the night and we feel like we found a palace. This used to be a retirement home, so the rooms are HUGE and very comfortable. the restaurant that is in the parking lot has great burgers. The breakfast was better than I have had at many higher end hotels. I would highly recommend that you check them out. Very reasonable and very accommodating!!

    « Poor communication »

We had reservations to stay here one night and when we arrived a pipe had apparently burst and there was no water. Apparently this had been a problem for at least 24 hrs. When we checked in we were told it would be reparied by a certain time. When we checked in we were asked if we were ever notified and no one had called us to tell us of the problem. The water was still not on several hrs after they had initially told us it would be fixed. Needless to say we ended up going somewhere else for the night since I did not want to go across the street to use the bathroom.... The room we initially checked into was very nice and clean, too bad we were mislead when we checked in.

    « Definitely a place to stay »

Was pleasantly surprised by this property. It is an older facility but amazingly clean and well maintained. The room was spacious and very quiet. Staff went above and beyond to help out. The provided breakfast was the best I have ever had in a hotel. Not only was the food delicious but they provided real plates to eat it on. We for sure recommend is BW Plus.

« Good stay as usual at Skagit Valley Inn »

We stayed here last week for one night, when in this area this is the hotel we always stay at. Its a bit old but always clean, with friendly employees and a good breakfast. Slept good and didnt hear a thing. Lots of channels on the tv too.

    « Very Nice Place »

Stayed here two nights and would definitely come back. The room was large and clean. Breakfast was good and plentiful, Stayed on the 3rd floor where the hallway was very wide and the ceiling tall making it look very spacious. THe bedding was fine and it also had a fridge. They were painting the exterior while I was there which meant some parking spaces were roped off but it was not a problem for us as parking was available. The entry and exit from the parking lot is a bit confusing for someone not used to the area. Overall, a good hotel and a place where you could return for repeat stays.

    « Nice hotel »

Rooms were clean and updated. Exterior was in the process of being painted, but didn't detract or interfere with our stay. Restaurant next door didn't look open, but it appears they were just re-opening. It was located in the back of the building, so a sign would probably improve business. The food was excellent! The absolute best steamer clams in a delicious broth I've ever had!

    « Great Stay »

I travel a lot on business and this is my go to hotel when ever I am in the Mt Vernon area. The front desk staff always greets me by name. They are always friendly and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. The beds are extremely comfortable and the breakfast is above standards of regular hotels. It's always a pleasure to stay here.

« Convenient location when traveling from B.C. to Seattle »

The desk clerks were all very nice and helpful. The rooms are rather dated, but clean. If you are a light sleeper, you will definitely hear the train coming by during the night (and then there is the pre-7 am leaf/mulch/dust blowers going around the shopping center next door).

« Excellect service as usual »

Very happy with the friendly staff. Roomy enough for our family of four. Only complaint might be that the air was off when we entered the room and since it had been a hot day the room was very warm when opened the door. Cooled off son enough

    « Nice place - clean - new »

looks like they just redid this place. the staff was very friendly - the check in was easy. free breakfast - quiet - although along a highway. Got this one last minute actually - our scheduled hotel/inn lost our reservation. they quickly got us situated. recommended

    « Great choice »

The room was great, so was the staff. The pool was outside and it was nice and warm so the kids were in heaven. I had an unusual reservation, one night with payment one night with points (coupon) and it took a great amount of patience to work through especially when I had a squirrelly 5 year old with me.

    « One of my go-to stays! »

The staff at this Best Western franchise is always exceptionally friendly, knowledgable, and helpful (even if you aren't familiar with them, as was the case for me, when I was new to staying at this hotel). The hotel, itself, is quite nice, for its price-point, and they update their amenities regularly. They also have a full restaurant/bistro on-site, and hotel guests are allowed access to a private gym, next door to the hotel (a REAL gym, which is fully equipped). The hotel's beds are among the most comfortable I've come across, for a hotel, and the rooms are always clean.

    « Nice motel »

Not right off the freeway, but not too difficult to find. Good choice of food for breakfast. Room clean and spacious. Not much of a view out window. Extra sink and mirror in room made it nice for family that all wants to get ready at same time. Would come here again especially at the rate we paid.

    « Best Western Plus-Skagit Valley Inn »

This was a great place to stay. We were greeted by very friendly and courteous front desk personnel. We were checked in quickly to a first floor room, which we like. The room was nicely appointed with two queen beds, a large desk and a very comfortable desk chair. The room had excellent lighting, everywhere! I am visually disabled and I need a lot of light. The window opened for fresh air and the pillows and linens were fantastic (as good as The Four Seasons-Seattle) Honest!. The morning breakfast was four hours long so you don't have to rush; as diabetics we are skeptical of all "complimentary breakfasts" but this buffet had wonderful protein selections as well as the standard fair for people who like their "carbs". Great rates, great people!

« oasis away from home »

Helpful & friendly staff. Easy check in and out process. Quiet rooms, black out shades, comfortable, quality bedding. great night's rest. Slept too well to sample breakfast, but it sounded like a full hot menu offering that would have been satisfying.a Well appointed spacious rooms. Excellent lighting.

« Stay here, islander discount available. »

What an awesome staff. We booked last minute deals with and when arrived the staff was soo helpful, especially Dy, she was soo great. Told us about islander discount, we will stay here everytime we come over from Friday Harbor. Fantastic breakfast and pool opens at 7AM. All around nice rooms and friendly staff. There is a reason this hotel is #1

« Great location as a stopping of point but dated »

Good staff, location and service but the rooms (at least on the first floor) are dated. There is a general musty/damp smell on the first floor that is hard to feel good about! I would probably stay again just because the location is good for our trips but I would definitely ask to be on a top floor not on the ground floor.

    « Comfy & Clean! »

Stayed one night after a long day of flying! Very clean & comfy. A/c worked great, bathroom & shower clean & spacious. Beds super comfy! Breakfast was great! Lots of options! Heather at the front desk was very friendly & helpful!! Would definitely stay here again!

« The comfort of home »

We enjoy staying at this motel. It is always our first choice when coming to Mt Vernon. Everyone is friendly and courteous. The price has been reasonable. The hot breakfast is perfect. The location is quiet, and easy access to shopping and the freeway.

    « Good stay »

Older property in need of an update. The lobby has just be redone who hangs in the lobby of a BW? They did have fresh made cookies early evening. Yum. Rooms are huge! Beds are very comfortable with good linens. Bathtub was narrow & shallow more suitable for a shower rather than bath. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner and the product provided in those on the wall dispensers was horrible (cheap). Overall everything was very clean & tidy. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. Breakfast runs until 10:00 but we discovered when we asked for the omelets that they are only available until 9:00. Try to get a room on the top floor (3 stories) as the floor creaked overhead in our room on the 2nd floor. I would stay here again for the right price.

« Really spacious rooms and very clean. »

I really enjoyed the spacious room, and the internet worked really well compared to some of the other BW locations. Alot of trains do blast their horns at all hours so if this bothers you bring ear plugs.

    « Great value »

We needed a place to stay on our way home Canada after a long day of driving. Great rate and a lovely large room. I appreciated the extra sink outside the bathroom. Reception was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and smelled fresh . My husband thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate chip cookies! Breakfast was pretty standard BW breakfast but they also had steel cut oatmeal which was a treat. I just wish BW would offer real cups and plates rather than disposable everything (my beef! ). Good choice

« Not a typical Best Western Plus »

Breakfast was the worst of any Best Western we have stayed in. Ham tasted like the paper plate provided for eating. Plastic utensils tasted better than most of the food. Poorly labelled. My wife thought the Bearnaise sauce by the scrambled eggs was hot oatmeal porridge. Hotel is very old and needs a major refit

  • 4
    « Good Value »

We got a good value through Hotwire, and were pleased with the breakfast (waffles, eggs, cereal, yogurt, toast, bagels, oatmeal. omelettes on request, ham), decent size outdoor pool, microwave and fridge in room, Wi-Fi, large room and close location to the I-5. There is a Wal-Mart close by as well as other restaurants and amenities. Burlington stores are also a quick drive. A good value if you get a good deal, and it looks as if some renos are in progress. Note that the sign doesn't say the Plus, just BW and there is another Best Western close by so make sure you are at the right address.

    « Pleasant .... »

Marvellous room, included a fridge, microwave, free wifi! Toilet and shower located in same room, but, not so close that you have to climb over toilet to get to shower. Breakfast was very good, plentiful and hot. Will stay at a Best Western again.

« Large room, clean, with outstanding staff »

This was a great place to stay for a soccer tournament with our granddaughter. The large cheerful and well lit room was comfortable, allowing us to spread our things out without any problems. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean with plenty of room (the sink and counter are separately located from the toilet and shower and bath tub). The indoor pool is located across the parking lot -- the kids loved it. The large breakfast room has a large menu and was well presented. The hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful.

    « Hotel »

More than 25 years of staying at Best Western Plus Skagit Valley translates to Customer loyalty for good reasons. This hotel is consistent in offering friendly service from time of check in to the time you leave. While over the years there have been many changes in personnel and more recently significant renovations, the large rooms, good parking and locations are still reasons to select this " home away from home"

    « Great value - Super Nice »

Our reservations were for three days at this lovely hotel. Hot, fresh from the over, cookies were offered to us upon checking in, along with a cup of delicious coffee. The check in process was easy. The discount/coupon that we reserved under was verified and we were quickly directed to our room. Upon entering the room, we loved the size of the room. The living room/seating area and the comfortable kin size bed does not make the room seem small at all. The air conditioner kept the room comfortable. The full breakfast is amazing - made to order Imelda, biscuits and gravy, eggs (boiled and/or scrambled, bacon, fried potatoes, waffles, assorted cereals, pastries and breads, yogurt, fruit, coffee and juices are just a few of the items offered. The pool is clean with shower rooms adjacent. The full gym next door offered at no cost for BW guest was a real hit for my gym-loving husband. The washer & dryer was a major hit with me because I could wash all of our clothes from vacation and not have to do it upon returning home. This is a VERY NICE hotel and one that WE WILL be staying at again on our next trip to Mt Vernon!!

    « Value and accommodative »

This Best Western is geared to the convention/large group trade. We were visiting relatives in Mt. Vernon and chose to stay based upon reviews. Since we were staying on a Sunday night, the hotel was nearly empty - and fine for us. We had a pleasant, large and comfortable room, nice accommodations, and great service. Easy location off the freeway and close to restaurants although not really for walking distance as in inclement weather you would rather drive. Location is also appropriate for visiting La Conner which is about 15 minutes away.

    « Excellent value »

Staff was great. Room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was the best I have experienced at any Best Western Plus. The hotel is centrally located and close to many restaurants and downtown area.

« Very few pluses to this hotel. »

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Cons: Property needs major updates. The rooms were large, but dark and very outdated. (I have never encountered a worse coffee maker in a hotel room - whatever this contraption brewed, I wouldn't call it coffee). We also noticed that exterior doors to the hotel were not locked. Overall, this was fine for one night, but I have to imagine there are better options in Mount Vernon.

« Clean but tired rooms »

Stayed here a few years ago and came back because recalled comfortable beds and clean rooms. The lobby was updated with furnishings and fresh baked cookies greet you. The staff was very pleasant. Our room was a king. Although very clean, the room looked tired with very dull lighting. The mattress was a bit squishy. I do hope they have it scheduled to renovate soon. A plus is that the morning breakfast (Saturday) was great! Omelets made to order plus multiple cooked breakfast foods in addition to the usual continental breakfast items. Access to a full service gym across the parking lot is a plus as well.

« The Staff is Amazing »

I had an amazing time at this Best Western. The staff was always there to help if there was an issue...Barbara on of the staff there always went out of her way to help us and tells us about local things. She is just amazing. I will come back to this Best Western when i visit again. Also the rooms were clean and well maintained. The Breakfast was always prepared and delicious and the cook was nice too.

« Very comfortable stay with a GREAT breakfast! »

Hotel lobby and hallways appear to be in the midst of remodel.....but the room was great! Very comfortable bed and bedding and quiet stay. The breakfast is beyond most! So many options including made to order omelets! And great shopping is just down the street including an outlet mall.

« Attended the Break Free protest »

Fantastic! Great beds, lots of fast, hot water, good complimentary breakfast and professional servicing all round. We code the Best Western for it's location and online reviews. We didn't have time to use the inviting, heated swimming pool and hot tub. Next time!!

    « A Great Hotel »

My wife and I spent a night at this hotel in May 2016 and found it to be one of the best hotels of it's class. The rooms are large, well furnished and spotlessly clean. The complementary breakfast is the one of the best we have ever had. There was a large selection of both hot and cold items but the clincher was the made to order omelettes. The staff on the reception were both friendly and helpful. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

    « Fine stay »

Stayed for a girls shopping weekend April 29 - May 1......was a little worse than I was expecting, but it was ok. The hotel is in need of some renovations, which it looked like had been started in the lobby. The carpet throughout is in desperate need of replacing, there are some minor cosmetic fixes needed in common areas (hallways) as well as the décor in some rooms. The beds & bedding seemed new & were comfortable, breakfast was great! The overall look at this point is just a little tired. As long as the renovations continue, I would go back & stay again.

    « Loved this hotel »

The best bed ever - so comfortable that I slept very well. Easy to access as it is just off the highway so a neat spot to stop. Rooms are large and the staff are very friendly and helpful - I will stay here again. Best breakfast ever with a variety of foods - even down to freshly made omlettes. This hotel was a delight - desk agents were very welcoming.

    « Family trip »

We had a nice stay, the place is a little dated, however very clean. They where starting some remodeling with the lobby the rooms where clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and breakfast was well above our expectations. They are in a very convenient location.

« Comfortable hotel but needs better swimming pool policy »

Nice hotel. Wish it would allow the swimming pool to stay open later for kids under 18. We can only check-in after 3p, but the swimming pool is banned for kids under age 18 once it's 6p, even if accompanied by an adult. That was one of the reasons why we chose the hotel - an indoor pool. I wish I knew this ahead of time.

« Leisure stay in Mt. Vernon »

Good quality accommodations for reasonable price. The hotel is somewhat dated, however has large rooms, wide hallways, and rooms are clean. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is a "step-above" with made to order omelets in addition to the usual breakfast items. Away from the main highways, however close to shopping and restaurants. Good location for tulip festival as well as take-off point for North Cascades National Park and Whale watching at Anacortes.

« Management in need of an overhaul »

The Good - this property has large rooms and an excellent free breakfast offering. The bad- Upon check-in we waited exceeding long as there was only one desk clerk during peak check-in time. The clerk had a name tag which indicated she was a trainee which indeed was borne out by her inability to modify my room rate to what was quoted on the telephone just two weeks prior. In fact after 3 repeated attempts to correct the rate issue I finally just gave up. Upon checking out I was advised that, "hotel management hates for staff to take rewards cards for payment". In the end I just left the payment on the credit card used to make the reservation. Once agian I was working with the trainee and was advised that the procedure for taking rewards cards was very complicated. I use these rewards cards and they are accepted just like any visa card at any other merchant. Not sure what the problem is other than I believe the credit card commission rate is a bit higher than a standard visa card. The ugly - While we went to breakfast we put out the do not disturb sign which we removed around 10:30 that morning. When we returned after our day's activities we discovered that our room had not been cleaned. I reported this to the front desk and was advised that we had a do not disturb sign on the door. I indicated that it was removed by 10:30 and was advised the cleaners came through at 10:00. I was very unimpressed with the management of this property. Location was a bit off the beaten path at the fart north end of town as well.

    « Expected better »

We stayed at this hotel April 9-11 when we were in town for the Tulip Festival. We chose this hotel because it was the top rated for Mount Vernon on tripadvisor, and traveling a long distance (from the Spokane area), I wanted to be assured that we would be comfortable and have a good night's sleep. Although the room was comfortable and clean, my husband and I were frustrated by a couple of things: 1. Each time we left the room, our key didn't work and had to be reactivated at the desk. The clerk said an iPhone could wipe it clear, but the key was nowhere near my phone. 2. Our room wasn't serviced because a housekeeper apparently quit on the spot. It's hard to believe that there would be only one person seeing to all the rooms, and without this one person, nothing gets done. This says something about the management and not hiring enough people in order to save on costs. As a paying guest, I do expect the waste baskets to be emptied, the bed to be made, and the towels to be changed. If I have to do these things myself and go to the front desk to get fresh towels, I might as well be home. My husband and I could have chosen to stay at an area hotel that was less expensive, and in retrospect, I wish that we had. We probably would have gotten better service than what we got here. I'm giving this hotel 3 stars instead of 2 because of the location and the cleanliness of the room. The service is lacking and needs to be improved.

    « Comfortable »

Always a welcome place to stop on a long road trip. Always comfortable and relaxing. With all kinds of activities during the year to do locally and not far to go. Beer festivals, wine functions, and flowers. o my!

« Good to go to see the flowers »

My wife abd I stayed here for our anniversary weekend. Clean hotel in need of updates. Food for breakfast was good. Loved tge made to order omelet. Pool not open and the restaurant had just open but the prices...ouch! Overall good bang for your dollar. Minutes from the flower fields and such.

« Best hotel for Tulip Festival »

This hotel is in a very convenient location. Only 15 minutes to Tulip Town and Roozengaarde. Everything in the Skagit Valley was easy to get to yet still not a lot of congestion in the hotel area. The included breakfast was pretty good but not great. Best of all, in my opinion, was that our room was very, very clean. No complaints there. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

    « not disappointed »

when we were there they had a new reservation system which was not working properly which frustrated the staff at the front desk. Overall would stay there again. There is a newly open restaurant on site

« In the right place »

Hotel sandwiched between conference center and a fitness center as well as being close to an excellent Chinese restaurant shopping and the freeway. Only a short drive to see the spring tulip festivals in the area.

    « Great Budget Hotel »

This is an inexpensive hotel that offers all the basics one needs. It is a rather dated property making it look tired. For the price it is fine and keeps the basic promise of a decent room. The staff was friendly and helpful which adds a star for me. We stayed here because I was having surgery at a nearby hospital which made it a great place for my husband to go to for a rest while waiting for me.

« Great Value, Super Fitness Center Next Door »

It's good quality, nice décor, omelets made to order, and great big fitness and aquatic center right next door. And I'll get a $25 gift card for staying two nights. Only down side was the walls aren't so well sound-proofed, so one night I listened to chatting and sex and the next to a hacking cough. But otherwise pretty quiet considering it's by the highway. I'd definitely stay there again.

« Great hotel, great location! »

I've stayed at this location several times and find it great! I've stayed with my family and on my own and have never had a problem. Safe and quiet location. Great staff, clean rooms. Great breakfast variety too. Nice pool also.

« Great Stay For the Tulip Festival »

Drove up after work from Seattle for an overnight stay during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. The check in staff were super friendly and bubbly. The asked my preferences in a room and I got a perfect location. The room was huge with lots of seating and great lighting. There was a really nice bathroom with a great shower. The internet was inconsistent, speedwise but otherwise fine. The bed was really comfy. I really liked the location. Near I-5, shopping and restaurants and an easy jaunt to the tulip fields. I preferred this BW to the other one in the area. Due to heavy traffic during the festival this one was easier to get into and exit. I would definitely stay here again. It helped I got a great deal on the cost.

« Perfect for Tulip Festival Visit »

I drove up on a Friday afternoon for an overnight stay during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. I stayed at another Best Western previously but heavy traffic made it a pain. This hotel is nicer and in a better location to avoid the heavy traffic. It's near I-5, shopping and restaurants and is an easy jaunt to the tulip fields. The room was huge and clean with lots of places to sit and lots of lighting, which I really appreciated. The bed was really comfy as well. The checkin staff were bubbly, funny and put a smile on my face. I really enjoyed my stay here.

« Great place to stay for the Tulip Festival »

My husband and I stayed here one night for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Everything about our stay was perfect. The room was impeccably maintained - everything clean and fresh - and well supplied. The free breakfast offered plenty of options, including a made-to-order omelette station, which we were particularly impressed with. We also very happy with the jetted tub in our room. Overall, it was a great value for the money and we would definitely stay there again.

    « Good »

Very nice hotel. Good to stay if you are passing through or staying awhile. Hotel rooms are clean, nice, and better then others I have stayed in. There is a train nearby though if your not used to those noises.

    « Excellent Staff/Good Value »

The staff was extremely professional/friendly. I stayed for a night with my daughter. I went to the service desk and they said that booking was for a pet friendly room. I never booked a pet friendly room. Their website is messed up. It never told me that the room was a pet friendly room. I let her know that I cannot tolerate pet smells and even though it was a really busy time for them, she figured out a room for us!

    « Pleasantly Surprised »

The staff were extremely nice and helpful and the room was way more than I expected. It was huge, clean and very comfortable. I will be back to Mt. Vernon in May and will definitely be staying here then. I won't even look at a competitive hotel chain.

    « Business meeting »

This is my second trip to this conference center, it is dated and in need of upgrading but did the trick for 80 people breakfast meeting. The remodeling of the front desk area was in full swing and the paint fumes were overwhelming (windows open on a cold rainy day)

    « Checking in was a nightmare...twice »

2016--two stays adjoining rooms. My friend came with me to care for me after surgery on my eyes 4 weeks ago, check in was slow and rude but we finally got our two adjoining King rooms. Yesterday was horrible! I was again coming straight from surgery and had again prepaid for two king adjoining rooms. The desk clerk was trying to find two rooms for us. She said all the king rooms were booked but she could give us two queen bed rooms. After about 20 minutes she gave us keys. One room key was not activated and my caregiver had to leave me and get it fixed. Later last night, I called the night desk and she told me that this hotel does not have adjoining King bed rooms! This is either bait and switch or outright lies! Whichever it is,...I want my paid amount refunded or reduced. These two experiences with this hotel have been horrible!

    « very good »

Breakfast was excellent, many items to choose from and a wide variety to choose from giving you options, the lobby was being remodeled but did not effect the performance of the staff, as they explained what was going on and doing a good job about it. very big and spacious rooms

    « internet wins again »

Hotel and staff were great, facility a little dated but clean. Called Hotel directly to make reservations, They would not match Internet rates, Forced to use internet to get lowest rate. When you do that there is no upgrades available to you. Very frustrating. Each Hotel seem to have there own policies.

    « Everything was great! »

We stayed here one night while on a snow geese photography mission and enjoyed it very much. The woman who greeted us and checked us in was very pleasant and personable. Our room was immaculate and included a microwave, small refrigerator/freezer, a sink and counter in the main area (as well as in the bathroom). The beds were very comfortable with soft, down comforters. The breakfast included in our room rate was quite inclusive: waffles, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, hot and cold cereals, omelettes (made to by a very efficient and hardworking breakfast room employee) as well as English muffins, bagels, juices, coffee, etc. The breakfast offerings certainly exceeded the usual. I would definitely stay here again.

    « Mount Vernon, Wa »

Enjoyed immensely. Very comfortable and quiet. Had lots of pillows that I requested. Big room. Great location.,. I am from here and this is the only hotel we stay in when we visit. I will tell others about this hotel when they want to visit this area. I like the fact that those with pets are put in one area. Excellent idea. Close to shopping and restaurants and our friends and family. Nice to be able to you the Riverside health spa for free.

« Ok place to stay »

I stayed here one night, it was average for a room, the room was nice sized but quite outdated. I had a ok breakfast. all in all i would stay here again but not my first choice. I would like to see them remodel the place.

« Great breakfast and spacious rooms »

I was here for work and was not looking forward to another hotel stay but my expectations were exceeded. I was very impressed with the breakfast. I am a hot breakfast fanatic and did not expect that at all. They even had an omelette station. The rooms were very spacious and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

« Good place to stay »

I stayed here two nights when I was visiting family in the area. The rooms are very spacious, clean, the beds comfortable and the front desk people friendly. The breakfast was nothing special but it had enough variety so that there is something for everyone. I appreciated that they have fresh fruit. The only negative is the the train sounds in the night, so maybe a bit more soundproofing would be good. If I was in the area again I would stay here again.

« good place to stay »

good clean big room at a reasonable price. Also the breakfast was outstanding with cooked omelets. We loved the fresh baked cookies in the evening. Our room keys kept failing to operate and one of the helpful people at the counter mentioned that a magnet could cause this problem and then later I realized that my iWatch battery is recharged using an electric magnet and it was near where I left the keys.

    « Repeat customer »

Staying here has always been a good experience---second or third floor East wing North side has views up valley and of the river.....King bedroom---double wide hallways---elevator is central---Fitness center next door provides accommodation to motel guests-with pass from Motel---New ownership plans full restaurant at the convention center next to pool---Breakfast now offers omlett station and new milk dispenser and Organic Steel Cut Oatmeal....

    « Friendly Staff »

We stayed 1 night and we would stay again. All of the staff we encountered were professional and very nice. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was enjoyable with many options.

« Okay Stay ? Appreciated the Huge Rooms »

As a frequent guest of Best Western hotels, I was very skeptical when we first pulled-up as this was clearly an older hotel that had been remodeled and upgraded to ?Plus? status but as soon as we walked in, I could see that the lobby was huge and nicely redone; however, while remodeled, there were still some signs of age and wear, especially in the hallways, and the pool was outside on the other side of the parking lot. Like the lobby, the rooms were remodeled and huge with a separate counter and sink, in addition to the one in the bathroom, which was very nice with four of us staying in one room and trying to get ready in the morning for the day's exploration of the area. The room had the standard Plus amenities including a flat panel TV, coffeemaker, microwave, mini-fridge and complimentary Wi-Fi. The only issue with the room was that the carpet was badly stained and needed replaced. While I did not see a lot of staff during our stay, those that I did see were friendly and the front desk was efficient at check-out. Parking and breakfast is also complimentary and I felt the breakfast was a bit better than the average Best Western offering. Overall, we had a good stay and liked the huge room; if the carpet were replaced and the condition of the hallways attended to, I would certainly have rated this hotel a four or even a five.

    « Completely satisfied »

My sister who lives in this area recommended this hotel to us. It was very nice with clean, large rooms. Very quiet, great complimentary hot breakfast with a helpful & friendly staff. Would highly recommend this hotel.

« Excellent location for Skagit Bird Watching »

This Best Western Plus is just off the I-5 on a quiet back road. The upper floor rooms provide a view of the hills above Mt. Vernon. The breakfast omelet bar was especially delicious--a new service. The easy access to I-5 and Highway 20 with the many birding sites make this a perfect place to stay for us.

    « Holiday Trip »

Our 2nd stay at this hotel. Everything was great and we will be staying there again on our next trip. The facility is nice and so is the staff. Beds are comfortable and nice breakfast in the morn. The computers in the lobby made it easy for us to print out airline boarding passes.

    « One cold night »

This is a very nice place to stay, clean, quiet and very good breakfast included. However, I have stayed here 3 times, once in the summer and twice in winter months. Both winter stays were the same. The room was extremely cold, This time the outside temp was 28 deg and the room was 30 deg, heat was turned off and it took 4 hours to heat the room to an acceptable temp. The problem was that I arrived at 1:30 AM - so much for a good nights rest! I spoke to the desk attendant and was told the heat is turned off because customers have complained about the rooms being to hot - WHAT??? I won't be staying here again unless they can give me a room that is an acceptable temperature.

« Always my first choice to stay at »

The rooms are all beautiful & have tons of space, there continental breakfast has tons of options & is absolutly amazing, & the fact that they had great customer service is deffinetly always nice as well.

    « My Stay »

Hotel is very clean, Check in very helpful, centrally located for all shopping and dining. Hotel Breakfast not all that good,(staff at the breakfast neither) your basic waffles, cereal, scrambled eggs and either sausage patties or links (VERY GREASY) ate here once during our stay, went to Shari's the next (Better Choice),Mattress in our room extremely soft, past its prime.

    « A pleasant surprise »

When you first approach this hotel you can tell it is an older building from the outside but once inside the you forget. The upgrades are nice, staff friendly and the rooms are spacious and quiet. By far the most comfortable room and beds on our mini road trip. Hotel was quiet at night. Easy access on and off the I5. Breakfast was great, room was clean and lots of choices were offered. Something for everyone. One thing to note is that there is no indoor pool. It appears that they use the pool at the fitness centre next door but kids are only allowed at certain times.

« Best Western Burlington Skagit Valley Inn »

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Nothing super fancy, but did the job well. Breakfast in the morning was very good. Was upgraded to a jaccuzzi suite by being a diamond member...nice perk. Close to a ton of shopping and good restaurants, this was a perfect little one night getaway for my wife and I.

« Great location and spacious rooms »

We attended the annual Skagit Valley Wine, Beer & Spirits Festival held at the Convention Center. The room was spacious, clean, and bright. Nice white linens on the bed and in the bathroom. Like that there was a sink on the bar area in the living area, as well as one separate from the toilet/shower area. Relatively quiet, but traffic noise in the morning.

    « It's all in the details »

The Best Western in Skagit Valley knows how to get their guests checked in quickly so they can relax and enjoy their stay. I wanted to post a thank you note to the restaurant where we had dinner the previous night and the hotel staff took care of it for me, quickly and efficiently.

« Good location, lots of space »

Needs some upgrading, especially in lobby area and hallways, we appreciate the fact we can bring our little dog, she is very used to traveling and is a perfect guest (that is why sometimes we resent a high pet fee). In this hotel we did not have a pet fee, but the price for the room was higher than what we usually pay. We have to consdier the exchange rate which is high at the moment and will cost 20 - 25% more in US dollars.

    « Pet Friendly & Comfortable »

Stayed with my dog and it was great overall. Friendly staff, good breakfast and super comfortable bed and pillows. Check in was fast as was the check out. I will certainly stay here again when I am back in the area.

    « Great Hotel! »

My whole group was overly impressed with the quality, price, and overall experience. We were on our first mountain climbing trip and just found it on the net and what a find it was. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone I know that is heading out that way.

    « Travel »

We stay at the Skagit Valley Inn at least 4 times a year and we are never disappointed with the treatment we receive and have booked it for large groups several times. We dont hesitate to recommend the Skagit for any stay in the area and have been happily staying with them for more than 20 years

« Great place to stay! »

Our room had an odor when we first got there. Housekeeping immediately tried to eliminate it, but could not. Front desk quickly changed our room and got us moved. All was well after that. Even though there was a soccer team in the hotel, we had no problems with noise. I just wish the mattress was a bit softer. It was quite hard indeed. However, that will not keep us from staying there again. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff throughout.

« Overall a kind of unpleasant experience. »

We arrived about 2:00 in the morning and it was just kind of an unpleasant visit overall. The night desk receptionist was seemed unpleasant in general. I probably was too after traveling for more than 10 hours, but I felt like I was a bother to her to have to check us in. I have two specific reasons for feeling negative about the hotel. First, I understand the hotel is an older facility, but the hallway carpets just seemed really dirty. Secondly, our air conditioner unit froze the second night of our stay and we didn't realize it until around midnight. It just didn't seem worth the hassle to change rooms so we just dealt with it. The hotel is close to our son's home but we will probably drive the extra 10 miles north to stay next time at a nicer facility

« Location better than other Best Western »

We drove over to the Best Western across the freeway and said no-way. This one is nicer and in a better area. The room was typical Best Western clean and comfortable room. The breakfast is muffins, bagels, cereal, waffles as well as hot potatoes, eggs and breakfast meal ... all cooked and not warmed up. We stayed here while we visited Whidbey Island. There are a few restaurants not to far away ... Olive Garden, Sheri's, Dairy Queen (yum), and an outlet mall just up the street.

    « Visit Sept 2015 »

This is an older hotel. Was very clean and well kept. They offer a very nice breakfast. No problem staying here again on our next trip. The staff was nice and friendly. It is located in a odd area for a big hotel.

    « Good Value »

The hotel was acceptable and a good value for the month, not elegant but very nice. Best Western could have selected a better location for this hotel, the access is not very good. We had a good sleep and the breakfast while adequate could have been better, but over all it was better than going to McDonalds.

    « A nice stay »

We love coming to Mount Vernon / Burlington and staying at this hotel makes it better. Centrally located, this hotel offers a good buffet breakfast with hot and cold breakfast items and makes for a good start for your day. The room is extremely spacious, and clean. The only complaint I would have, and this is totally out of the hotel's control, is that the train's sound their horns when traveling past. When this happens, in the wee hours of the morning, the sound sticks out against the quiet of the night. They aren't close to the hotel, but if you're in an even numbered room, and you're not used to it, you're going to hear them. But, otherwise, the staff is as friendly as the people that live there (awesome), and it's good to see familiar faces year after year.

    « great stay »

Stayed at this Inn for 7 days and my room was neat, clean and large. My spouse is in a wheelchair and the room was large enough for his chair. The staff was polite, friendly and considerate. The daily breakfast was fresh and hot with a wide selection of items to eat.
